An Expanded Family: How They'd Be as Step-Parents

Izuku Midoriya

It had been the first thing he learned about you. You were a parent. Parenthood was deeply engrained in the way you operated, especially in the Pro Hero space.

When you started dating, though, it became so much more complicated than that.

He started overthinking immediately.

Deku was a lot of things. A lot of little kids looked up to him. He met people every day, but the pressure of meeting your little one was extremely high.

Sometimes you'd catch him mumbling to himself, practicing how to talk to a little kid. He knew that screwing this up might mean losing you forever.

But there is literally no possible way that he could screw it up. In any universe.

He decided to go with you and your four year old son to a playground. He put together a picnic and everything.

Izuku was perfect.

You were sure you fell in love with him all over again, watching him on the playground with your baby.

He was a little awkward at first, but as soon as your son asked him to play tag, Midoriya was all over it.

Your baby had him climbing up slides, going down fireman's poles, swinging on swings, the works.

And you couldn't tell who was having more fun: Izuku or your son.

Sometimes, Deku would come over and babysit for you while you had to run off to work or to run an errand.

Izuku always just treated them like playdates or sleepovers, though.

He asks your son's permission for everything first. Especially when he's about to take big steps in the relationship, like moving in.

But when Deku asked your son if he could move in with you guys, your son got all wide eyed and excited.

"Yeah!" he exclaimed, smiling wide. "It'll be like a big sleepover!"

Midoriya knew your son had another parent, whether they were involved or not. He wasn't really trying to take over the father role.

It just fit him so well.

Soon, he found himself making pancakes and packing lunches and planning birthday parties.

Midoriya loved the life he had with you and your son. He loved it much more than he had anticipated.

And when you saw how much he loved your son, and how much your son loved him, it sealed the deal for you, too.

Ochaco Uraraka

Ochaco was surprised to find out you had kids. You were always so put together.

Not that parents can't be put together, she supposed, but you just didn't really seem like the parent type when she met you.

But whenever she came over while your twin daughters were there, she immediately saw a different side of you.

It made her fall that much more in love with you.

The first time you asked her to babysit, you were on your way to the hospital to see your sister have her own baby. Their other parent was never really in the picture, and everyone else that you would normally ask to watch the babies was also going to the hospital.

Uraraka volunteered almost immediately.

She had been with the twins and you enough times that she thought she had the hang of it.

However, they were only three years old, and whenever it came time to feed them, Ochaco realized she knew so little about children.

Nothing she offered seemed to satisfy them. It took her a while to figure out what they wanted, with their picky palates.

But she did it, eventually.

She knew the routine. Dinner. Bath time. Show on the couch. Then bedtime in the room they shared.

That night, you came home to find your two girls asleep with their heads on Ochaco's lap, her head leaned back on the couch as she dozed, too.

You merely giggled and brought your two girls to their own beds, then brought Ochaco into bed with you.

After that, it took her a while to feel comfortable watching the girls without you.

But she was very good at following your parenting style whenever it was the two of you!

And, man they loved her.

Any chance they got, they dragged Ochaco into the floor to play with them.

Coloring books, ball games, dress up, anything they could convince her to do.

With your permission, she had even floated them a couple of times.

And it warmed your heart when you heard one of them ask her, "Ochaco, will you be my Mama?"

Tenya Iida

You only got your baby every other week.

Your son was still a newborn, and his other parent was still very much a part of his life.

You wanted to make as much of the time you had with him as possible. So originally, Iida wouldn't come over during the weeks that you had him.

However, all of that changed when his dad wanted to switch weeks for a family event that you'd had going on.

You'd been so absent minded about it that you had forgotten to tell Iida.

Tenya had offered to just go back home and to reschedule his visit for the following week. But you thought that was as good a time as any for him to meet your son.

Iida met your baby while he was sleeping.

He was quiet and attentive, taking in the entire nursery. He didn't think you had shown him that part of your house before.

And even though he loved you and your son, it took a long time for him to really feel like he was part of your family.

I mean, you were seemingly still really close with the baby's other parent. He was never going to be able to step inside the bubble of your family.

Especially because Iida never really did the whole "step-father" thing.

At least, not in the way that anybody else usually did it.

He was more clinical, more calculating, the way he was with everything.

He didn't give the baby any baths or diaper changes for the first six months that you knew him, at least. He felt like it was inappropriate for him, as someone who isn't even related to the baby, to be doing those things for him.

He would do almost everything else, though. Feeding, playing, walks, different learning exercises, cleaning, more feeding.

You knew that everything he ever said or did was only because he cared about you and your baby.

However, he was always insecure about it. He never thought he'd be able to get your ex to trust him, and he never wanted to give either of you a reason not to.

Until you had a conversation with him about it.

You had a heart to heart about how it felt like you were doing a lot of things alone in your relationship and that you needed him to do a little more.

It was then that he told you how much he worried about things like diaper changes.

After you had a long talk about it, he revealed that he had no problem with those kinds of things. He just worried that it would affect the baby's development, to have a stranger around for intimate moments like diaper changes.

After that, he started to help more. He became stronger and stronger as a caregiver for your baby.

He would never be the baby's father. You both knew that. And Iida wasn't trying to be his father. All Tenya wanted was to love both of you for as long as he could.

Momo Yaoyorozu

You had a ten year old daughter when you and Momo started dating.

In fact, Momo met your daughter almost right away. She didn't have much of a choice because you had a really hard time finding childcare for her while you were away.

Your ex wasn't in the picture and didn't want to be. You didn't want them to be either. And your family didn't exactly raise kids the way you wanted your daughter to be raised. So it was just you and your daughter for the last ten years.

Until Momo came along.

She started out as just a really good friend.

Plus, now your daughter had someone else to look up to in her real life. Momo was smart and powerful, and you wanted your baby to have a woman in her life to look up to. Momo was perfect.

And then it became so much more than that.

Soon, Momo was over every single day. She picked up your daughter from school when you couldn't. She helped with homework and studying. She made dinner and taught your daughter everything she could about math and science and chemistry and hero work, everything she could get out of her system

And your daughter really didn't know how to feel about Momo because she just came on so strong all the time.

I mean, your daughter did like Momo.

It was just hard for her not to have some big feelings. She only had one real parent, and she didn't like any of her other family because of how mean they were all the time.

And Momo went from her parent's friend that sometimes tutored her to the person that sometimes steals her only parent.

And sure, it was cool to have a superhero as a stepmom.

But really your daughter missed the days when it was just the two of you.

When you noticed, you were heartbroken. You apologized over and over, and you promised your daughter that you could plan more days for just the two of you.

Momo was fully supportive of you having more alone time with your daughter. She knew it was important for your daughter to have that bonding time.

Momo just wasn't really sure how to react at the news that your daughter wanted her around less. She hadn't really considered how much she cared for you and your family until then.

Somehow, even though Momo knew how important it was for your daughter to have you as a support system, she still felt rejected and sad. She didn't want to leave you alone.

Momo pulled away for a while. Not because she was angry or anything, but because she didn't know how much space she was supposed to give you to be with your daughter.

Eventually, your daughter did start asking about her again.

"When is Momo coming back over?" she asked one time on the way home from school. "I miss her."

It took a long time, but you eventually learned to balance your time with Momo and your time with your daughter.

Shoto Todoroki

You took in your younger brother when your parents passed away.

You were happy to do so. The two of you had always been close, and you were happy to be the one who takes care of him.

But he was a bitter, emotional thirteen year old boy whose parents had just passed away. And there was nothing you could do to ease his pain.

You did everything you could think of. You started both of you in therapy. You spent quality time together. You made his favorite meals. You invited his friends over. But nothing consoled him.

He was mean and angry. He was sad and anxious. He insisted on being alone the majority of the time.

And you spent so much time trying to help him heal that you ended up isolating yourself.

That was when you met Shoto. He was a good shoulder to lean on. He was never judgmental of you or your situation. He always listened and never spoke until the time was right.

Todoroki also put you first, the way that you were never able to. And you fell in love with him months after your brother moved in with you.

You were extremely careful of the way you presented your relationship to Shoto to your brother. You thought it would be too quick of a change for him so soon after the last one.

Your worry actually led to you keeping it a secret for a little over a month.

It wasn't on purpose. You always meant to tell your brother that you had a boyfriend. But at first he just wasn't responsive to anything you said.

But then he met Shoto on accident.

Shoto went into your apartment to grab something you needed for work. It was only meant to be a quick trip to the apartment, and your brother wasn't meant to be there.

But he was. Your brother had skipped school. Apparently it's something he'd been doing for a while. He would just walk home after you left for work.

Shoto found him, and they struck up a deal. Todoroki would teach him some skills in combat and he would avoid telling you about the skipping class if your brother would stop skipping school altogether.

Suddenly, Todoroki became best friends with your younger brother.

Your brother became more social, more active. He started talking to you again. He started getting better grades in school. He started joining you for family dinners.

And when you were finally able to tell your brother about the nature of your relationship with Shoto, it turned out that he already knew.

Apparently, he overheard you on the phone with Todoroki one night.

Todoroki became increasingly protective over your brother.

He took your brother to nightly training sessions to help him work off his emotions.

Your brother even convinced Shoto to try going to therapy himself, something he had considered but never actually went through with.

After that day, they started becoming closer. Almost brotherly, almost the relationship you knew Shoto was missing from his siblings.

You knew they both needed each other.

And Todoroki was so spoiling for the both of you. He took you both on trips. He bought you gifts for holidays. He took you to dinner and to his Pro Hero parties and banquets.

Every once in a while, he would work late, and he would refuse to come back to your place because he didn't want to wake up your brother.

And one day, when Todoroki had been at his own apartment for several nights after being on late night patrols, you heard your brother ask you from the other room, "When is Shoto coming home?"

And ever since then, the three of you became a happy family.

Mirio Togata

You and your daughter met Mirio in the park.

Your daughter had been just six years old. Her other parent had passed away when she was an infant.

Your parents lived far away, and your partner's parents couldn't bear to look at your daughter now that they'd had to bury their own child. And you couldn't really blame them because of how much she looked like her other parent.

It was just the two of you, you and your baby.

Mirio had brought is own daughter, one from a previous marriage.

Their divorce had been amicable, though his ex-wife had since made some poor life choices and was no longer able to visit or take his daughter on the weekends. So they spent their days visiting parks and playgrounds.

You met because your daughter had taken quite a fall off of the swings and scraped up her hands, and Mirio's daughter had helped her up. Mirio, then, helped her find you so you could bring her home.

You were thankful, and you took your daughter home after a brief exchange of niceties.

From then on, you always noticed him at the playgrounds you frequented. Your daughter became very good friends with his, and you found it in your best interest to become friends with Mirio.

The rest is history.

You found out that your daughters would be going to the same elementary school. And from then on, they did everything together.

Meaning that you and Mirio now did everything together, too.

Mirio was particularly doting on your daughter.

He would play with her whenever she asked, no matter how silly the game was.

He would give her piggyback rides into school.

He would nurture her whenever she needed loving.

But he also never neglected his own daughter. He made sure they still went out on their father-daughter dates to cafes and parks and playgrounds.

Watching him love the kids so much created a longing in your heart that was so strong you couldn't deny that you had feelings for him.

Eventually, things spiraled until the two of you were much, much more than friends.

You hadn't exactly explained anything to your daughters yet, but during a play date, they walked in on the two of you kissing.

It was innocent enough. Nothing got remotely steamy. But it was just an innocent moment.

You both startled when you heard "OoooooOOOOoooh!" from the two tiny voices peaking around the corner.

You all started laughing, and your daughters came bounding in the room. "You loooooove Mirio!" your daughter teased.

"Yeah, I guess I do!" you said with a smile, looking at him lovingly.

Mirio was just as doting and loving on your girls as he had been the entire time.

A couple of months into your relationship, you discovered that you were pregnant. And then a few months later, you welcomed a new baby boy into the family.

At first, your girls were so loving and doting on their brother. They "helped" feed him, change him, and bathe him, which really meant just talking to him and giving him lots of kisses.

But you could tell that something with your own baby girl had gone awry.

She would cling to you all hours of the day. She always wanted to be cuddling you, right by your side every minute of the day.

Eventually, she let it slip that she thought you and Mirio loved the new baby most.

You decided that you had to do something. Your baby had to know that you loved her just as much as the rest of the family.

So you set up a special time after the baby was laid down for bed at night where you all did something together.

Sometimes you'd watch a show and cuddle under blankets on the couch. Sometimes you'd play board games together. And sometimes you would take turns reading parts of books.

You each took your girls out on solo adventures whenever you could, making sure to spend time with them just as you did one another.

You did your best to make sure that your family unit all felt loved the way they deserved.

Hitoshi Shinsou

Shinsou actually met your eight year old son first.

You had been holiday shopping on one of the busiest nights of the year.

You knew you shouldn't have brought him with you. You knew you should've just waited until your parents could watch him.

But now, here you were, frantically running around the shopping center, waiting for your eyes to lock with his.

You couldn't help but shame yourself while you searched for him.

First, you got pregnant in high school. You knew you weren't mature enough to have a child, and all of this proved it. You were still a child yourself. You had no business raising a kid all on your own.

And then you saw it.

You saw your son being led through the crowd with a man with purple hair, and you finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Fast forward to a year and a half later, and you and that man were moving into the same apartment.

Shinsou had proven to be an amazing parent, even if he really hadn't seen himself as a parent before.

He knew he wasn't really the "step-dad" type, and he never pretended to be.

He just wanted to care for you and your son as much as possible.

Hitoshi really struggled at first.

Sometimes, when he was over, he just couldn't understand why he could wake you up in the night with some love and affection.

Eventually, you explained that your son's face was peacefully sleeping on the other side of the wall between your bedrooms. "What the hell would you do if he walked in, 'Toshi?" you had eventually asked.

The look on his face seemed like he'd seen a ghost when you asked.

It took him a long time to get used to the schedule, too.

You and your kid got up so freaking early.

And yeah, he knew it was for school. But that didn't mean he wasn't grumpy about the alarm buzzing on your bedside table at six every morning.

One morning, though, he had been awake when your son had woken up from a nightmare.

You would have been happy to wake up and be there for your son. But Hitoshi also knew this was his chance to really bond with him in a way he hadn't been able to. So he got up and led your son into the kitchen.

Hitoshi took the time to heat up some milk with honey and cinnamon mixed in, just like in that movie he had watched with you and your son recently... Oh, what was it called?... He couldn't remember.

They talked about the dream. Shinsou told your son all the ways that he remembered to be brave when he was afraid.

And ever since then, your son went to Shinsou for everything. It was like he was obsessed with your boyfriend.

Ever since then, they were best friends, always getting into one thing or another together.

Bakugo was always protective as you ever since you were kids he would always say he would protect you and not let anyone take you away from him and you didn't seem to mind it since you just thought it was some typical big brother behavior when it was much darker than that...Whenever someone would talk to you he would glare in their way making sure they had a cold sweat he once hospitalized a boy in the middle because he put gum in your hair you were everything to Katsuki he just wanted to be him and you(and his parents ofc) that was it

That was before class 1a

•Everyone was shocked at the two of you even Aizawa questioned the nature of it because Katsuki was a burning bomb ready to explode anytime when someone pisses him off while you were an absolute sweetheart with a kind personality with a Smile pure of sunshine and happiness with a positive personality people would even doubt you were Akatsuki's twin without you looking alike even izuku sometimes question it

•the class was so lovesick and adored with your kind yet tough nature they knew it was fate they knew exactly who to cherish and love! And it was you!

•The girls would have lesbian attacks whenever they were close to you or ever interacted with you, while you chatted along your day and training Mina would just dreamily sigh to herself, tsuyu would just be just in a trace cause how sweet your voice sounded, Ochako would stare at your lips imagining how it'll felt touching hers, Jirou wanting to bury her face in your big fluffy hair so she can get a sniff, momo starting at those beautiful eyes making her all flushed and it drives her crazy, Hakagure wanting to pinch your cheeks while giggling intensely

•The boys,on the other hand, would try so desperately to get your attention and praise like how Tokoyami would show off his love poems to you while you watched with eyes sparkling, Aoyama would show off his fashion skills by dressing up and if you ever want to wear matching outfits with him let's say he's the happiest man alive he'll show off to everyone how dazzling the 2 of you are, Kirishima would pick you up and throw you in the air just to show you his strength talking about how manly he is, while sato gives you all sorts of treats and teach you to bake

•But your brother was deeply Jealous every time he caught you hanging out with them he always watched in the background to make sure they didn't do anything or just took you away and scolded you for not hanging out with your big brother as much but that's ok its, not your fault it's those Extras fault but when they told how much they love and care about you and would do anything to protect you he gets 2nd thoughts and decided to tolerate it for now

One day at lunch a girl walked over to your table and asked you out to go to a nearby cafe on Friday you blushed and mumbled yes the class including your brother say quietly anger building up and glaring at the girl the girl winked and ran away,

On Friday the girls helped you get ready you were dressed up in Momo's dorm they picked your best outfit and did your hair so nicely you were twirling around, beaming and smiling mina and the others blushed at your style but were heartbroken knowing the fact that you weren't getting dressed up for them, when you got out the dorm and shows it to the boys they looked in wonder but was sad but your brother was being extra protective and strict today putting down some rules

At this point, you were just deciding to not listen to your brother 😭 you weren't going to anyway especially that last one but you kept the others in mind you were heading out the door everyone bid you farewells and good luck and you were feeling as confidence as ever when you made it at the cafe

you see the girl sitting there ever so pretty with her hair in a beautiful style and in a beautiful flower pattern dress you blushed at her appearance and went in y'all did your greeting and started talking for a bit it was fun honestly she was laughing at your jokes and you were blushing at her cheesy pick up lines all was going swell and you had to go to the bathroom you apologized to her and excused yourself

After you washed your hands you were about to exit the bathroom but heard your date chattering and laughing and she mentioned your name a couple of times you were curious u stayed and listened closely

"Uh duh I am man I can't believe there's a girl who likes other girls so gross!"

As the girl kept chattering horrible stuff the more numb, you felt your eyes watering and leaking down your face your hands balled up in fists shaking you grabbed your stuff off the table not caring about your "Date" reaction, and dashed out the cafe you ran inside the building Kirishima and bakugo were playing a game while jirou, momo, denki, sero and ochako were playing card games they saw you ran in "Oh hey y/n! how was your-" just as jirou was about to say something you slammed and locked the door everyone was shocked Bakugo put the controller down pressed his head against the door he could hear sniffling and crying

Bakugan harshly told everyone in the common room to back away and knocked on your door "Hey idiot you there? Can I come in" You hesitated for a second but at the moment you didn't care you just needed some comfort so you unlocked the door and Bakugo calmly went in he didn't like to be mushy but seeing you cry broke his heart just went he shut your door you tackled him and hugged him tightly crying in his chest murmuring a bunch of "im sorry" and "You were right" when he finally calmed you down you explained what happened " s-she called me disgusting kats I didn't do anything to her " he rubbed your back while you hugged him tightly until you fell asleep he placed you down in your bed

He went out of your dorm and met with a bunch of concerned looks from your classmates some asked a bunch of questions to see if you were ok even iida and Momo frantically wanted to come in and check on you but Bakugo completely shut it down saying he'll explain what happen

"Those fucking pests..." momo said with venom in her voice and the others agree they were in a rage how could anyone do that to sweet little you! You didn't even do anything! Everyone was now arguing and bickering about what to do with her some mina suggested beating her up and threatening her but Tokoyami disagreed and said blackmail Ochako suggested spreading a fake rumor so people she would be ostracized from the whole school but- "I think that's enough out of all of you" everyone quickly turned around to see aizawa looking tried and pissed "M-Mr Aizawa we can explain-" "Silence I don't wanna hear it y'all did enough I'll handle that girl in the morning the rest of you head to bed now" the class groaned and head to bed still plotting up a plan in their mind

The next day when you were about to walk to class you heard screaming and begging "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IM GETTING EXPELLED?!" the girl's eyes were full of tears showing at Principal Nezu still keeping a smile on his face "I'm sorry but we made up our minds we are a bullying free environment we can't have a soon to be hero bullying other soon to be heroes for who they like" nezu said while taking a sip of tea the girl's angry yells of protest turning to ugly sobbing and begging she ran pass you crying loudly

You were stunned but were walking into class "Morning everyone!" just when you walked in everyone was huddling around you mina was hugging you tightly like he lift depends on it " y/n! Are you ok do you need some more time?!" " we can go to a cool butterfly Zoo Kota recommended to make you feel better *Kero*" "Here I got you think adorable music box with your favorite tune on it" Momo handled the music box "I'll bake you some sweets to make you feel better!" Sato butted in everyone else was cooing and gifting your stuff to help you "feel better" Luckily bakugo pulled you away but was also checking to see if you were ok everyone was bickering at Bakugo for being selfish but was quiet down when Aziawa came

After class when you were headed to your 2nd period Aizawa stopped you for a second "Uh yes sensei?" he walked up to you "I heard you were feeling sad yesterday ur feeling better now brat?" you shrugged "Yea just some night with someone got bad and weirdly enough now they're getting expelled kinda harsh honestly " Aizawa shrugged his shoulders as well "Thats too bad but let's worried you being stable and ready for hero training this afternoon" you quickly nodded your head and smiled with determination "Yes sensei! I am!" he let you go to your next class unaware that a evil smirk was forming on his face

Hi there 👋🏽 I was wondering if I could request some headcanons for class 1A & a reader who’s izuku’s twin sibling who goes to a different school and has a power like Julieta Madrigal’s (where they can heal you with the food they cook) maybe they prefer to call their quirk a gift?

1A X Midoriya! Reader

• First of all, no one knew at first that Deku had a sister except Bakugou, obviously

• They all found out after the Sports festival. Afterwards, when the students were the only ones really left at the school, they saw Deku meeting with a mint haired girl off to the side. She handed a small pastry that he gobbled right up.

• They asked Bakugo as he passed to leave. He just said "That's Deku's sister, Y/N." Like it was obvious. She passed a pastry to Bakugo as he passed and he took it with no complaint. He nibbled on it as he left.

• What really blew their minds was that Deku took off his arm braces and was completely healed. Before anyone could ask, they began to walk away.

• It wasn't until the next school day that they could ask any questions.

Y/N Midoriya: Twin sister to Izuku

Hair: Mint shade & Wavy

Eyes: Hazel/ Bright Amber

Quirk: Can heal Many levels of injury with her cooking.

• Prefers baking but can cook great (Maybe even better than Bakugou.)

• Can factor in different levels of healing into whatever it is she cooks, even have no healing built in.

• Was thought to be quirkless until she wanted to make some strawberry brownies for Izuku after he had a run in with some bullies again. He was healed within moments of the first bite.

• Doesn't go to hero school but is working towards a medical degree.

• You started very young referring to your quirk as a gift. Most peoples quirks were either just inconvenient things or were just there or ones that could be considered heroic quirks. There were fewer people that had healing type quirks so you thought of it more of a gift since you could help people in a calmer, safer way that still held up to the Hero's.

After they meet you:

• After your presence is made known, Aizawa did have to have a meeting with your mother because you couldn't always be healing Izuku and no matter how much you didn't like it, you understood. Especially after you met with Recovery Girl.

• The class LOVED you and it wasn't too long before you were an honorary member of Class 1A. You were similar in a way to Izuku. You were adorable and sweet and fiery to a fault. You were a bit more confident then Izuku as well as being less over the top.

• What surprised everyone the most was that Bakugo was more open to you. He was still his normal standoffish self but he didn't go off on you like he did Deku

• The class also became very protective of you. If there was any threat that they found out near you, they had either Izuku or Bakugou to call you to make sure you're okay.

• And heaven help the person that did hurt you. If your brother didn't get to them first, they had no chance of escaping the rest.

• Izuku always made sure you got to your own school before heading to UA. That became harder when he had to move into the dorms but you were given permission to visit by Aizawa (he hoped it would help keep Izuku in check.)

• Speaking of Aizawa became fond of you too, not that he was going to mention it. He would do anything for you that he would do for his class.

• All Might even was fond of you. After his retirement, you would make him batches of different things that helped with his condition and the pain from it.

• Like we said, you were loved by the class.

• Sato and you would bake together. He would teach you new recipes and vice versa.

• Uraraka and you were fast friends. You were also very appreciative of her for being friends with Izuku. After you found out what over use of her quirk does to you, you made some candies to help with nausea.

• Kaminari, Sero, Todoroki, and Sero knew they could come to you for anything. Like help with homework and studying , if they need someone to talk to, anything really.

• All the guys made sure that Mineta didn't bother you. It took everyone to hold Izuku AND Bakugou back when he tried something the first time.

• You were friends with everyone in the class but the ones you became closest with outside the two boys was Kami and Ojiro. The three of you have their weird but perfect balance between you. Kami was drawn to you at first because he's Kaminari, come on. He's a flirt but when you showed genuine interest in him and genuine concern when he short-circuited, he let him be himself with you.

• And Ojiro, how could you not like him. He's so sweet and you two just clicked. Like two peas in a pod. To be honest, the overall exciting energy the class gives off is overwhelming to you. Ojiro's calm disposition is welcoming to you. You both work hard for your goals and support each other through hard times. (Not to mention the small crush you have on the man that Izuku definitely doesn't tease you about incessantly.)

Prologue

All little girls were happy, right? Of course you were, you seemed to just beam with happiness. You had a good life, with caring and attentive parents who doted on you and a twin sister who you did everything with. Many loved it while some thought you could be too much at times. You wanted things to stay the way they used to be forever, but doesn't everyone when there doesn't seem to be anything wrong in the world?

It was coming to the middle of the school year when your teacher started discussing how our quirks would manifest at any time. You were excited as well as your other classmates after hearing this news, but two boys stood out to you. You knew them of course, they were your classmates after all. The boy who smiled so brightly was Izuku Midoriya, you got along with him as you both had a similar love for heroes and the other boy was Katsuki Bakugo: he was your neighbors, neighbor. Your parents were well acquainted with each other, the pairs would make you walk to school together, of course, this meant you just trailed behind Bakugo and his friends and Midoriya often joined you in following the group thankfully giving you someone to talk to. Your sister on the other hand always seemed to be up front and center though, often trying to lead with Bakugo.

There were so many people, you were often ignored, never seeming to be noticed. Some days there would be six of you, maybe four, or just...the two of you. Your sister was sick often. You loved your sister and hated seeing her sick, but you suppose it had its benefits. On those days, it could just be you and Bakugo from time to time.

"Suki!" you called out to the boy ahead of you, Suki was the name his mom called him when you had just first met. That name was engraved into your head, he used to call you out for not using his real name but after time he had just given up on trying to tell you off. "You're walking too fast, slow down!"

He continued walking yelling at you without even looking back in your direction. "Come on I'm not even walking that fast! Maybe if your legs grew a little more you'd be able to keep up with me Yuko!" he said with a smug tone.

Early mornings like this were normal for you and Bakugo, walking to school only took a few minutes if you used a shortcut through the woods, but due to a storm a few days ago, the trail was closed off since tree branches had fallen and covered most of it. So that morning you both decided to just take the sidewalks to school instead. You never realized how busy the roads get as everyone leaves their homes for school and work, even the buses look full!

As the minutes went by, you continued walking in silence.

Getting closer to the school you had to cross multiple crosswalks. And the sidewalks just seemed to be getting busier by the second. People were starting to crowd you, and you were losing sight of Bakugo. Trying to make your way through the sea of adults, you spot Bakugo across the road, rather than think about your surroundings anymore you started thinking about how he didn't even notice you weren't behind him anymore.

Losing focus you stepped into the road without even bother looking. You were so caught up in Bakugo not noticing you, that you didn't even notice the car that had swerved around you until you felt the harsh wind pressure blowing your hair into your face.

You froze: eyes wide, and full of fear. You screamed before you could even fully register what had happened.

At that moment, as your quirk finally manifested, fear consumed you and prevented you from realizing the small cloud of green gas escaping from your palms. The intensity of the accident just overwhelmed you so much that you thought you were having a normal reaction. The thought that your fear was being intensified never once crossed your young head.

No one else noticed either. Noticing must not be anyone's strong suit.

Katsuki came running, getting near you he questioned why he was scared too. Was it because he knew he was going to get in trouble for not staying near you, or the fact you could have died?

Over the next few months leading up to summer, everyone else started to develop their quirks. Bakugo was the first: standing in the middle of the classroom, small flashes came from his hands. Everyone looked in awe, you thought they looked like tiny fireworks.

And by the end of the year, everyone had their quirks, except...neither yours nor Midoriyas.

Even your sister had manifested hers. Dream Cloud they called it; the user can emit a special gas from their body that induces vivid and uncontrollable dreams and it immobilizes the opponent, rendering them physically inactive and vulnerable to attacks on anyone who comes into contact with it. The dreams can range from pleasant and fantastical experiences when exposed to the dream gas, individuals with good dreams become deeply engrossed in their positive fantasies, experiencing vivid and euphoric dreams beyond their control The user can also manipulate the properties of the gas, allowing them to control the duration and intensity of the dreams inflicted upon others.

Years were passing, and you were growing up thinking you were quirkless.

Your anxiety was getting worse, and your home was a tense place to be. Your parents kept you at a distance, all of your old friends too. Yume, your sister; your twin flame. She tried to help with her quirk. It worked for a little while but it would stress out her body so your parents made her stop, it was too much to bear for everyone.

"Yume...you can't keep doing this," you said tiredly. She looked exhausted as she sat on the bottom bunk with you. She was trying to help you sleep but it was wearing her out. "you're going to hurt yourself...just please, stop it"

"I can't, your lack of sleep is starting to get to you Y/N. You've got dark circles under your eyes now..." She was rubbing at them. You knew she was right though, it was starting to get to you. And it was starting to get to everyone else too. Yume's hands were shaking as she brought her hands to her own eyes. She was tired, but...she still tried.

Bakugo was willing to stay with you too, still walking to school together. You always felt more at ease when with him. He'd become protective of you ever since that day when you were little. However, he was changing around you too. Becoming more observant, he noticed all the things you didn't.

All the times you were nervous or anxious, he'd carefully watch as you 'steamed'. Just looking at you, no one could tell it was happening. But if you looked closely enough; a light green fog was persistently emitting from your palms and the soles of your feet.

"Yuko you're...nevermind"

- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -

"Y/N PLEASE!" your mother shouted. "STOP THIS YOU'RE SCARING US!"

What...was happening to you? Who's in control...?

You were screaming; it felt as if you were ripping in two. Crying out, begging, and pleading for them to make it stop. The house was filling with green, you were scared; you couldn't see your family, only hearing their screams. You were walking the line between panic and losing your mind. Overwhelmed by guilt and remorse, you listened in horror as your family suffered, unable to do anything to stop it. Tears stream down your face as you desperately scream apologies, knowing that your words alone can never truly mend the pain you've caused. Fear that you can't reverse. Your body arched forward as gas was released from your body. Starting to feel weaker by the second you didn't know what to do, looking into the gas you opened your mouth.

The last thing you were able to say to your family "I'M SORRY...IM SOR...ry..." before it all went black.

Opening your eyes, they were met with dim lights that sparked and flickered. Confusion and terror washed over you realizing you had no idea where you were. Sitting up quickly your eyes darted swiftly around the room, scanning every detail, until they abruptly landed on a clock. In a split second, they absorb the time displayed, capturing this essential piece of information amidst the chaos of their rapid movements.

"8:47 am...but it was just 11 am...where am I?" you said to yourself.

"ah, you're awake!" a woman said.

Startled; you got up from the bed you were lying on. White; why was everything white? Why didn't you notice this?

You twisted and turned looking all over the room "8:52" Your eyes were looking everywhere; the wall, the bed, the clock, the table, your hands; the gas was coming out of them then it just...stopped. Finally looking at the door; there was a woman and a man, you stared down at the woman as she spoke to you. You could hear her but you weren't listening, just taking in her every detail. Your body was trembling, as your eyes moved to the man standing next to her.

"8:58"

"So now that you know why you are here, yes the time is 8:58 dear anyway, this will be your caretaker"

She pointed to the man next to her, he towered over us, his long black hair rising above his head, he looked tired like you, eyes glowed red and looked puffy; his eyes which he never took off of you.

"Shota Aizawa"

"What?"

cw: super self indulgent. reader has a huge family. lots of kids mentioned with names. pregnancy mention. reader is american and celebrates american thanksgiving. a/n: this is selfship content tbh. also is a follow-up of sorts to this fic.

Your mother has always been practically psychic, and as you’re helped out of the car by your husband, your four kids spilling out of the back rows of your van and running up the steps of your parents’ home, she’s already swung the door open and is standing on the front steps, apron dusty with flour on and hands rested on her hips.

“Ohhhhh my God, you are so big!” is the first thing that comes out of her mouth.

Your youngest, Kenji, is quick to jump in her arms, and you’re actually surprised he’s so warm to her, given that he’s only met her in person when he was still very young, but he’s already bouncing up and down in her arms, excited to see his grandmother. Your daughter Atsuna follows semi-shyly but receives her hugs and kisses earnestly just as well, and by the time you’ve finally made your way up the walkway to your childhood home, even Izumi has received his forehead kisses before handing over a bouquet of flowers, and Aki has already run in to find the rest of his extended family.

Your mom cups your face as you make it to her and you laugh, cupping hers back. She moves it side to side to inspect it, as she always has since you were a kid, and it reminds you of when she used to sit you on her lap and squeeze out blackheads from your face against your will. You have to admit that her fussing over you through FaceTime is not the same even if you argue that you’re too busy to visit the United States more often. Kenji and Atsuna disappear into the house to find their elder siblings, and you and your mom remain together to catch up.

“I meant you by the way.” She pokes your belly gently, and you can feel warmth getting to your cheeks. “Are you even allowed to fly when you’re that far along? You’re about to fill up the house.”

“They’re twins, that’s why,” you whine, and pout and she laughs and holds you close. Izuku makes sure the car is parked close enough to the line and she looks over at him.

“Don’t worry, the neighbors aren’t bold enough to bother us. Park in the middle of the street if you want even.”

“Mom!” you start, but she laughs. “I’m not judging his parking, he’s just being too careful.”

Izuku makes it up behind you and places his hand gently on the small of your back, his awkward smile making it clear that he’s not exactly sure what you were fussing about, but he, essentially Japanese, goes for a bow first. Your mom disregards that and reaches out for a warm hug, and then exchanges cheek kisses with him.

“Is she treating you well?” she whispers just loudly enough into his ear for you to hear, and Izuku laughs.

“Perfect actually. I couldn’t ask for anything else.”

“Good,” she says. “I raised her properly.” You pretend to roll your eyes at him and he holds your hand grinning, as all of you enter the warm house.

It smells divine, and your younger sister is halfway inside the oven, checking on multiple trays of baked goods. You’re thankful she, the youngest, has always been the baker in the family because flour and yeast have personal beef with you, and you tap her on the shoulder, startling her out of her focus.

She smiles widely as she sees you.

“So you finally remembered you had family,” she teases, and you roll your eyes at her, but she gives you a warm hug. When you pull apart, she looks at your belly, and shakes your head.

“Again?” She says, raising an eyebrow.

You bump her childishly on the hip. “Don’t act like mom didn’t already tell you.” You’d meant to surprise her with yet another niece or nephew, but the running joke between your younger siblings is that you’re having all the kids so they don’t have to so no one is probably surprised.

You catch up quickly, having just spoken a week earlier, and Atsuna soon wanders in between you and begs your sister if she can decorate the cake. Your sister acquiesces, and they have a riveting conversation about funfetti. You’re excited to meet her new boyfriend who’s coming later for dinner, and wonder if you should remind her not to use her Quirk on him ever, or if she has enough sense to act normal.

You continue to wander the house, finding that Izumi in between two of your three adult younger brothers, locked in a fierce match of NBA 2K, your own newest nephew nestled in your brother’s lap. Placing your hand on his face to disrupt his focus enough that he starts cursing, you snicker and scoop up the six month old in your other arm.

“Hi baby, how are you?” you coo, holding his little small hand. He gurgles at you and it warms your heart as you rock him a bit. You didn’t get to see him past Whatsapp pictures and vidchat and try to catch up on lost time. Aki slips behind you, peering at the child as well, and you ask if he’s met his little cousin yet. Aki nods, hands reaching for the child, and you hand him over, making sure to carefully adjust him in the 7 year old’s grasp. Aki’s green eyes watch with keen interest, but then your nephew reaches rapidly for his curls and Aki yelps and before there’s an incident you quickly rescue the little assailant.

“He’s mean,” Aki complains, frowning.

“He’s just a baby,” you reply, but bend over and give him a kiss. “Sorry, he won’t do it again, will you?” you ask sternly to your charge. The baby giggles and claps his hands and Aki forgets he was ever angry.

Izuku is standing on the deck, locked in conversation with your father as he lights the grill, Kenji squirming as usual in his grasp with your husband having absolutely zero plans to let him go off to cause destruction. Kenji whines and soon activates his Quirk, his legs moving practically at mach speed, but Izuku’s grip is irontight because he’s not in the mood to see his son’s head and body stuck between the slats of the deck on Thanksgiving day. You give your dad a kiss on the cheek and ask him what they’re talking about.

“Economics,” is all your dad responds.

You immediately bow out and Izuku laughs as your dad shrugs.

“See. Like I said you need a good accountant because she’s always thought money grows on trees, and you shoot back a glare, but Izuku smiles reassuringly.

“Actually she’s always thoughtful and kind with our finances.”

Your father grumbles, but you can see the corner of his mouth pull up as he starts to put the meat on the grill.

Dinner is finally set and Izumi puts far too many sweets on his plate, only to get them cleared off by your mother and exchanged for vegetables and Aki picks around all of his turkey for mashed potatoes and every other carb. Your dad takes obvious offense to it, but Izuku is enthusing him on his brining technique, to keep him distracted.

“So how many buildings did you destroy in the past year?” your youngest brother asks, interjecting as Izuku starts to go on his own tangent about smoking versus brining versus broiling meat. Izuku shifts gears quickly, unphased.

“Actually we’ve kept the property damage to a minimum-”

“If you ask this question again, I’m taking your gaming rig to pieces,” you threaten, pointing a fork at him. He raises two hands, but laughs, knowing that the question was mainly to harass, not ask for clarification. Izuku reddens, then laughs nervously.

“Mrs. ___, the mac and cheese is amazing, and this pie!” he glances at your sister, maker of the pie, who’s already cleared her plate with a slightly sour expression on her face. Her boyfriend has not stopped staring at Izuku since he arrived ten minutes before dinner, and it’s awkward, and part of you wants to suggest he get the autograph he so desperately wants and move on.

“You’re welcome!” your mom sings cheerfully in your sister’s place. She’s not actually a fan of mac and cheese, favoring jollof rice and chicken instead but you and your siblings have pushed for a traditional thanksgiving since you were young, so she’s gotten better at American dishes. She claps her hands together.

“Now everyone, I want you all to say one thing you’re thankful for before the meal is done.”

The room is quiet as everyone ruminates, save for the sound of Kenji still kicking his feet, albeit pacified by the cellphone one of your brothers hands him. You hope that somehow he’ll get that back by the end of the night.

Atsuna nearly knocks over her cup of apple cider while reaching for another roll of cornbread but her father salvages it with Blackwhip, which makes your own father’s eyes grow wide like he’s just seen a king cobra, and Izuku murmurs a word of apology. Your brothers all laugh, and Aki looks around, clearly not understanding what’s funny, his dad uses his Quirk almost reflexively, but laughs too to keep the peace.

Izumi stuffs his face to avoid talking and before you can narrow your eyes at him, Atsuna quickly pipes up that she’s happy the plane didn’t hit turbulence and kill them all. Your mother tilts her head but Atsuna looks satisfied, and you don’t comment further.

“Can’t you float?” Izumi says through mouthfuls of pie and Izuku gives him an exasperated look, but Atsuna answers peacefully, “Yeah, but I don’t know how to organize a funeral for the rest of you.”

Your jaw drops open, but your mom looks between the both of them and laughs loudly, as do your siblings. Your dad, unenthused, shakes his head, while Izuku keeps his eyes on his plate.

Aki pipes up and says he’s thankful for a big family which brings a bunch of awws to the table. Izumi murmurs something about being a showoff which your sister, in a glance, activates her Quirk enough to mute his voice.

He gasps and covers his mouth.

“I’ll give it back if you’re nice!” She sings. Izumi looks practically shocked and helpless.

Your brother nudges him, grinning. “Make sure she remembers to give it back. I once took an unintentional vow of silence for a week.”

Izumi looks pale and you try not to laugh. Your sister gives a laundry list of things she’s thankful for including her new job opportunities, the fact that all of her family is present at dinner, and shouts out her nervous boyfriend who stammers before he speaks.

“Thankful for you, Mr. Japan!” he stammers first and your brothers stifle laughter, and secondhand embarrassment threatens to take you and your eldest son’s life. Izuku laughs awkwardly and your sister glares daggers at her soon to be fanboy ex.

The rest of the family shares their thanks, even your littlest one says thanks for pie, and dinner is over without too much consequence. By the time you’ve hugged and kissed everyone goodbye, taking your small tribe back to your rented vacation home, the kids fast asleep in the back of the van, one thing’s for sure - you are blessed to have the wonderful family you have.

“I always forget how crazy your family is,” Izuku chuckles as he drives. His hand holds yours tightly over the car console, thumb stroking your palm as he focuses on the road.

“Explains me, doesn’t it?” you answer. You grin widely and chance to give him a kiss on the cheek. Behind you, Izumi, who apparently isn’t sleeping, starts to whine, having been unmuted by your sister just before you parted for the evening.

“Can you guys stop being gross for like ten seconds?”

“Aren’t you thankful your parents love each other, lil’ buddy?” Izuku replies, patient as always. You can both see Izumi shake his head in the rear view and cross his arms, grumpy as always.

“I’m thankful for you!” you tease, and he looks up, then away, but you can still see his pout which, knowing that even if you can’t see it, he’s blushing the same way his father does.

-Dio's Wrryy was an actual accident. When they were filming the scene where he first became a vampire, he just said it. The cast and crew loved it and it stuck ever since. The same applies to the Muddas as well.

-Dio says Wrry a lot when the cameras are not rolling especially when he gets startled.

-Poor Dio gets pranked by everyone especially Jonathan and Jotaro. Everyone loves hearing him says Wrry or Muda xD

-Jonathan, Jotaro and Joseph are actually brothers in real life

-Diego is Dio's twin brother and as a result people confuse the two much to their amusement. Dio is taller and more muscular and Diego is the smaller twin. Also Diego has shorter hair than Dio.

-Giorno is Dio's real son and his oldest child. Ungalo is the last born and was born when Phantom Blood was released. Yes Lisa is his daughter xD He kind of adopted her even though she is an adult because they have a strong bond due to Lisa playing his baby sister in a movie years ago

-Kars and Dio always flirt with each other whenever they see each other to the point where everyone ships them, something they are aware of.

-Dio's Stardust Crusaders costume was actually his idea. He wanted his character to be as outrageous and sexy as possible hence the crotch spot xD

-Kars was uncomfortable with his outfit due to the cold temperatures where they were shooting

-Stardust Crusaders and Battle Tendency were shot at the same time

-The Villains Club which are all the main Jojo Villains are all besties and get along well. There is that occasional spat in the Villain house between Dio and Kira over stupid shit which gets resolved later. These bitches always hang out and do karaoke and stuff

-All the various Jojo casts from different generations all do karaoke on Sundays as part of their tradition.

-There was one funny karaoke incident that Jolyne filmed. This incident had Kars, Dio,Funny Valentine, Jotaro, Jonathan,Joseph, Caesar, Giorno,Diavolo, Diego, Johnny, Pucci, Kira and Josuke all singing and dancing to one of Aogiri's hit tracks and actually doing the dance moves. Giorno and Josuke were the ones that taught the others. Jotaro fucked up in some parts making everyone laugh. The video went viral and Aogiri found it hilarious and reached out to the guys and they all became friends

-Giorno and Josuke hit the high notes and Diego, Kira and Kars did the rapping. Dio was enjoying himself a lot because he loves dancing and being an idiot on set xD. Dio also did some rap parts much to everyone's surprise and he was good at it.

-Giorno, Jolyne, Anasui, Lisa Lisa, Weather Report, and Josuke love Aogiri and would blast their music all the time.

-Their fave members:

Giorno: Eren, Kaneki

Jolyne: Eren (she has a crush on him xD)

Anasui: Light, Lelouch

Lisa Lisa: Kaneki, Ichigo

Weather Report: Izuku, Ichigo

-When Jolyne got to meet Eren in person, she almost screamed and fainted because of her crush on him

-Lisa Lisa is actually the clumsiest Jojo family member and occasionally crashes into shit a lot making everyone worry about her safety

-According to Jotaro, Josuke eats the most out of everyone and always steals snacks from the snack bar

-Pucci was scared of Dio at first but once he realized how sweet he was in real life, he relaxed.

-Dio would scare many people at first due to how terrifying his character was but meeting him in-person shocks many

-The Jojo that is similar to the character is Jonathan, something he finds funny

-Little Dio and Little Jonathan are friends in real life and go to the same school. Both of them are now grown up and are successful actors. The same applies to the baby versions of the others

-Everyone calls Funny Valentine Barbie because of the pink outfits and the hair. He loves the name and cracks Barbie jokes on set.

-Diego injured himself during the filming of the race scenes.

Nami Aizawa

Shota's middle-school-aged little sister. She goes to a normal school in Tokyo and lives alone, but he doesn't know she lives alone.

Quirk : Activation, her quirk forces any quirk within sight range to automatically and uncontrollably activate. Limited by her nearsightedness.

Orange

Akemasa Usamimi

I did a whole post about him but in summary, he's a UA hero student with a single father and a love for technology.

Quirk : Rabbit Ears, his antennae can control technology via signals they let off. Incredibly sensitive to interference and touch.

Yellow

"Prometheus" "AFA225220"

Also got his own post but in gist, he is a child experiment made from the DNA of AFO and All Might. He is used as an execution method and a way to control heroes under the HSPC.

Quirk : "Prometheus", An AFO variant with the ability to give and take quirks but their power is boosted upon being received. (IE. Small Objects Telekinesis -> Full Range Telekinesis.) However, the quirk taken can never be returned to the owner as the body rejects it and must be given to a new host. The user can't keep too many quirks either or he becomes ill.

Green

Akamu Midoriya

Izuku's estranged evil twin. This one was just a joke but I love him he is my evil son.

Quirk : Heat Sink, he is capable of altering the temperature of things he touches with his palms. He can transfer heat between objects and even build it up if he holds multiple. However, if he does too much, he will give himself a fever or chill and need to stop.

Teal

Yukuto Midoriya-Yuga

A child created during a quirk accident. Also a joke but I love him.

Quirk : Laser-breath, he can fire lasers from his mouth. His teeth hurt if he does it too much.

Blue

Homura Todoroki

Endeavor's secret lovechild-- created with a quirk in an attempt to get a new "masterpiece" during Shoto's rebellious not-using-fire period. He has multiple illnesses and does not have a quirk.

Purple

Usagi Shiro

Usagi : 卯沙伎 (卯 - Rabbit, 沙 - Sift, 伎 Art/Skill) Shiro/Shirou: 紫朗 ( 紫 - Purple, violet, 朗 - Cheerfulness)

The rabbit-heteromorph general education art teacher at UA. He's known for being incredibly cheerful and has a high approval rating among the public. However, he's kind've an oblivious idiot sometimes. Would unironically believe you if you tell him your dog ate your homework.

Quirk : Brain Trick, your basic telekinesis-telepathy mix. Works by using the electricity in the brain.

Pink

Kiryuu Senketsu

A normal guy with a demon quirk who is constantly mistaken for a villain by people around town. He hops from job to job as he gets fired quickly when complaints come piling in. Even his own sweet old grandmother thinks he is a villain, but she is weirdly supportive of it.

Quirk : Demon, he has the physical traits befitting a demon and can use basic "magic". Uses it for menial labor and to get the chips from the kitchen without having to wake his grandma up.

If Mina had a twin sister it'd be me, so I'm curious: When you meet people in the outer world, do you find that people who are naturally like your friends from your source tend to gravitate to you? If it's too personal then what's your favorite version of your hero costume?

How tf do I explain this without sounding like I'm putting myself on a pedestal...

Id say yeah in essence?? Lots of Izukus and Kirishimas which I don't mind a bit, even other Katsukis from systems. But people with their likeness, or personality not sure. Can't answer that really without getting to know the person.

In terms of hero costume, I like my original, but the WHM has the hood so it's kinda caught between the two.
