Runaways AU: So, in canon, Toga (after being reminded by Twice) makes the call to Compress, telling him that the police are taking the Shie Hassaikai to the nearest villain hospital (also, villain hospitals are a thing, neat), which allows the League of predict which expressway they would be on and thus ambush the escort.

In this AU though, Toga... might not be in the right headspace to make that call in time, even with Twice reminding her.

Villain Hospitals make sense; given the scale of Hero vs Villain fights, they probably need similar medical attention to Heroes before reaching trial, especially when they, I dunno, fuse with some people and then get thrown into the air before getting their shit stomped. As an example. And keeping them in the same place as the Heroes is asking for trouble.

You do make an excellent point about Toga here, she's pretty distracted at the moment. Especially since she's the one who shot Overhaul with his own Quirk-destroyer and now has to focus on getting away from all the Heroes

what if we were raised together but also raised apart, unaware of each other until the day we meet and then- only then- do our lives begin to make sense?

The labs raised them in somewhat the same way- and both methods dehumanizing. Yuma solves a puzzle for a juice reward. Makoto solves a puzzle to avoid getting shocked. Both get shocked at the slightest display of disobedience anyway. Both have strict routines and regimes where every aspect of their lives seems set in stone. What the scientists didn't take into account was that raising a little genius in such conditions will eventually backfire.

They both escape their labs on the same day, shortly after they turn 20. They also name themselves Yuma and Makoto around this time, only being referred to beforehand as "Subject No. 01" and "Subject No. 02." These escapes simultaneously piss off the researchers but also fascinate them- how much of their identical choices were made based on nature vs nurture?

For the first month traveling alone, Yuma spent his time trying and failing to do everything alone. He eventually receives the help of a stranger and starts helping random people, learning he'll receive kindness in return.

Makoto spent his lonesome travels scraping by and barely surviving without the assistance of anyone else. He's still bitter and angry about what the scientists have done to him. He regrets not burning the whole institution to the ground.

They both meet at a bar, where they, of course, instantly recognize each other's faces as their own. After a lot of guarded questions, they learn that they were both cursed with the same upbringing.

So Makoto asks Yuma to help him return to the Amaterasu lab and exact revenge.

Yuma doesn't wanna hurt anyone, but agrees to come along... with ulterior motives! He wants to show Makoto that this world isn't so bad, and dwelling on getting revenge isn't everything. Think like the core relationship in Mad Rat Dead, between Heart and Mad Rat.

And why is Yuma so stuck on this pacifist philosophy? Well, he'd already gotten his revenge. Turns out, putting a bullet into the head researcher who raised him only made him feel hollow and scared. He doesn't want Makoto to go through the same thing.

They meet the other cast members on the way, doing odd jobs and favors for them and forging small bonds with all the strangers they meet. They help Halara, a pet rescue volunteer, get a cat down from a tree and in return Halara teaches them a few survival skills. The meet Fubuki, who is lost in the supermarket, but it's also their first time in the supermarket so they all end up going on an "adventure" together until the clones escort her back to her limo. She tips them a fat wad of cash that keeps them fed and housed in hotels for like 3 months. They help Desuhiko, an up and coming music star who's anxious about getting on stage. The decide to do an opening act as a comedy duo- Makoto and Yuma are familiar with street performing for money after all- and it not only has the audience in a good mood but eases Desuhiko's anxieties. The clones see their first concert together and it's the most fun theyve ever had. Desuhiko, in return, patches up their clothes for them (though, they do end up messing the clothes up again later, lol) with his impressive sewing skills. They save Yakou from getting beat down by some debt collectors and Yakou lets them crash in his shitty little apartment for a while.

This is really just a really endearing and cute road trip story in my head. It starts off tragic but once they get out it's just two guys who only understand each other trying to explore a whole new world while making other lives better.

They eventually reach the Amaterasu lab again, but by that point, Makoto doesn't have it in him to exact revenge anymore. He hates the place, but it was still his home. It's complicated. He tells Yuma that all he wants to do now is keep traveling the world together.

That's when Yuma reveals he's been secretly planning with the other people they've helped together to expose the laboratory for the corrupt place it is and get it shut down. That way they can get their revenge the right way. Makoto is ecstatic.

After they expose the dirt on their respective labs and have those places shut down, they're free to travel together again and continue helping any random people they see who need it <3

headcanon time: in runaways au Techno is a shapeshifter meaning he can shift his forms from fully human one to fully piglin, he has an another powerful form but he doesn't know it yet himself

since he doesn't remember his childhood (amnesia from some traumatic experiense) he stays in his hybrid form because it his most natural state, yes he was born like this (insert joke about one of his parents being furry) and he doesn't use shapeshifting because he doesn't remember he can do this

Runaway au at Christmas??

Logan and Oscar huddling together so warmth on a porch and looking in and seeing a pack round the Christmas tree all in matching pj's and it looks so cozy and they both want it so and they get spotted by pack alpha Max who invites them in and looks after them

Oh plss! Young friends logan and Oscar having been shunned by their pack and they are all alone! They are cold and don't know where to go and end up seeing a psck inside a big cosy house celebrating Christmas together. They have a big nest and matching pjs and some little ones crawling around too. They look so happy and Oscar and logan just quietly watch in envy. The door opens suddenly, spooking them, and it'd big pack alpha max who spotted them and invites them in with a warm smile. He is holding blankets and wraps them around them as they shuffle inside a little shyly, letting Max usher them close to the fire and hungrily eating the food given to them!

Context:

Uh oh! Looks like Mirage has uncovered something he shouldn’t have seen. Now he is being chased by the people apart of the games he’s in.

With no other options, he runs away, telling everyone he was going to take a little break.

Though everyone thought it was weird and suspicious, they just seemed to let him be.

Except for two legends in particular, Wraith and Crypto. Wraith felt something was wrong but she couldn’t really put her finger on it, so just kept taps on him by messages and phone calls.

Crypto though, he knew for a fact something was wrong. That feeling he had when he was first wanted was much stronger now.

And the fact that it happened exactly when Mirage told him he was taking “a break” was no coincidence.

So he tracks him down to get answers on what is going on.

Designs:

Crypto- Very much the same except he has the metal things, hair style he has before he got framed, and wearing a brown coat.

Mirage- way longer hair, Eye bags, still wearing the outfit he has rn but also has a Gray jacket on.

Hi!!

So I had this idea a while ago about 'Runaways Tim & Jason AU', but then scrapped it cuz... yeah I just wasn't feeling it after a while. I was gonna name it 'Scram'.

This is more of a character relationship study sort of thing.

(Please ignore the grammar mistakes, i dont usually pay attention to grammar while i plan)

Basically, Tim and Jason meet in the streets while Tim is running away from his abusive parents and Jason is fending out on the streets alone. They meet while Jason is stealing tires from the batcar and Jason explains what he’s doing and Tim frowns at it cuz he loves Batman. They basically exchange conversation and the two seem suspicious of each other, and basically don’t seem to like each other cuz Jason’s rude and Tim seems too rich. 

Then they hear Batman coming and Tim leads Batman away from the batcar saying that he’s lost to distract him from the missing batmobile tires. Jason is relieved, but thinks nothing of it and takes the tires away because he got his own problems to attend to. 

He takes the two tires he managed to steal to his empty apartment (which will kick him out in a week if he doesn’t pay). He decides to sell them tomorrow and think of the things he’ll need to buy to survive and maybe a tiny treat for himself. Morning kicks in and he sells the tires to the car shop he knows will pay up good. They are dubious and basically steal the tires from him just cuz he’s a kid. Jason leaves with a bruised eye and vows to kill the kid who gave him the false tip. 

He doesn’t have any money left since the jerks took the little he brought and the emergency money at home needs to be used for the rent so that he can stay for at least a week more. He wanders the food street, his stomach grumbling, and sniffs at the many aromas in the air, not being able to do nothing more than just smell them. He enters the most kid-friendly shop (it has a poster of a cartoon dog on the front window) and he asks if they are looking for employment. It’s a family-run business so he thinks that they might employ him and not sell him to a human-trafficking site and the wife who is the only one who knows how to speak english tells him to scram. Jason insists and lists off all the things he can do, but the wife won’t budge. So he storms off and trashes their bins in revenge. The wife comes screaming and he runs away before she can lay her hands on him. 

He spends the rest of the afternoon, roaming the streets away from Crime Alley mindlessly and collecting change from the most friendly looking people. By the time it’s 1 in the afternoon (Jason checks his father’s watch that he stole before he dies), he managed to collect a total of two dollars in change. That was a real stroke of luck considering that this was Gotham. He decides to go to the train station to see if there were any foreigners about (they were rare, no one wanted to come to Gotham) when he sees the kid he had seen last night. 

He tries to avoid him, but accidentally catches his eye and sees that he’s healthy and safe. The kid doesn’t seem interested in him either because he turns away and quickly tries to board the approaching train. That would have been the end of that, but then a man grabs the kid and tries to drag him away. Jason sees that it’s a ticketmaster and he’s scolding Tim for sneaking on. Tim earnestly says that he has money to pay for the ride, but the ticketmaster doesn’t seem to believe him and tells him to scram. [this fic is titled “Scram” cuz ppl keep telling Tim and Jason to scram, but then at the end, when they inevitably meet Bruce (maybe through one of the other Justice League heroes? Like the Flash?), they find that Bruce and Dick and Alfred aren’t telling them to scram]. Jason comes forward and pretends to be his brother [this could be another plot point that at the start, Jason pretended to be Tim’s brother, but later they don’t even have to pretend because they really do care about each other] and drags Tim away. 

Tim thanks him and Jason says that he’s just paying back what Tim [they don’t tell each other their names until a couple days later] did for him the other night. Tim says that Batman was getting more violent after Robin’s leave and he didn’t know whether he would be mad at Jason or not. Jason says whatever and eyes him suspiciously. Tim asks what happened and Jason asks if he does actually have money. Tim freezes then his features twist to a snarl and he spits out saying that Jason was after his money the whole time. Jason rolls his eyes and says obviously, why else would he be interested in him? If he wants to live out in the streets then he’ll have to get used to it. Tim scoffs and turns away and Jason lets him go. He doesn’t need more trouble on his hands.  [Basically, Tim’s parents hunt for him and they’re forced to go through city through city, alerting each JLA hero of each city about themselves, but the JLA members don’t know that each other know. They build bonds, get each other out of trouble and the fic explores how one can live in the streets in modern day]

I heard that there was another fic kinda like this later (didn't read it cuz i dont vibe with some of the tags), so that added to my motivation slipping. But yeah, i think this has fic potential, im just not bothered to write it.

Runaways Au

A life of crime wasn’t something young Amity thought of for herself or her siblings, but after a specific event in their past that’s where they are now. They typically keep to small jobs like pick pocketing and small theft, but at times if they think they’re capable they’ll go for bigger chances. Like a man bragging about showing off a bunch of jewelry for display at his house, a perfect opportunity for a new heist to keep them satisfied for at least a few months.

Amity normally doesn’t get involved, she goes with them to the area but hangs back and they leave together. That’s how it always goes and it was never a problem before. But this time, she gets caught by the owner’s daughter.

Runaways AU snippet please.

Inko doesn’t know what she’s doing out here, but she’s started going for long walks after the rain. Something about how it makes all the grass and trees greener soothes that deep ache in her heart, even if it’s only a little.

She ignores the distant cheering of some kind of Hero fight. Petrichor, at least, doesn’t remind her of broken promises.

The underpass is quiet. Of course it is. No one has any reason to take this small out-of-the-way path. Not anymore. Not since Izuku graduated from Junior High. This place barely gets any foot traffic at all. So when the manhole cover suddenly turns, it’s impossible to ignore.

Nothing on earth could prepare Inko for the sight of a small girl who couldn’t be older than five climbing up to the surface, turning around, and helping another child up.

“Is anyone nearby?” says the second child, and Inko’s heart stops. No, she must have misheard. Surely.

That denial dies when the second child rises into the light beside the girl. She would know him anywhere. It’s impossible for her not to know him. But it can’t possibly be.

“You live around here?” the girl says. The boy nods.

“Yeah. Remember what I said, though. There’re Heroes around here, so we’ll have to be care…ful…” he trails off as he meets her eyes.

No imposter could ever recreate the exact expression Izuku makes when he knows he’s caught.

I have to ask about the runaway au as I'm curious, did Makoto know he was a clone or had some tip off he had a twin since he was called No.2? Or did he think No.1 was a failed experiment before him?

I also have to add that your art is awesome as usual! Especially Yuma and Makoto's expression in the bottom left art! Seriously! Love seeing your art on my dash!

it's the second one! neither of them knew of the other's existence until the day they physically met. as for makoto, he'd assumed that this "No. 01" had failed at his lessons and was subsequently tossed away, which gave him an extreme fear of failing. he had to be perfect to retain his value and not be discarded, and none of the scientists corrected him because he was being so obedient. meeting yuma was somewhat of a relief to him, in a way.

and thank you so much!! ouuu youre so sweet <333 the bottom left art was definitely my favorite part to draw (❁´◡`❁)

hiii this might be a stupid question but im a new follower and i was going through your senju sibs tag (excellent by the way!) and saw you referencing a runaways au? where might i find this au it sounds very interesting!

MAN. sorry to disappoint but i still haven’t finished it 😔 but the general concept behind it is that hashirama an ounce more selfish and focused on peace for the sake of protecting tobirama, so he takes tobirama and they run away to a small village. it’s set before the river confrontation, so the connection with madara is unresolved while the senju clan is left with a power vacuum without any of butsuma’s heirs remaining. i have a wip of it on my laptop that’s been untouched for AGES, but i do really want to finish it!

you guys aren’t ready for the runaways au. basically, the axolotl puts bill in time out by giving him feelings and a mortal form, before ford gets the portal finished so he’s fine. he did invite Stan, but then Ford goes down to check on the portal and bill has just Disappeared meanwhile like 20 years in the future, 10-year-old Mabel, Dipper, and their parents go to new york. the twins get lost home alone style, and find the now-mortal Bill in an alleyway.

and so begins the Adventure, where the three have to travel to Gravity Falls so Bill can call off the deal with Ford and leave Earth (he did NOT want to be here in this way !!)

over the course of three and a half months (which is relatively accurate I used Math) they travel to Oregon by hitchhiking, walking, and public transit, as well as breaking almost every law known to man

bill experiences character development and gets attached to the twins, and in turn he teaches them Magic! chaos demon magic, specifically. basically they all rub off on each other.

and the best part.. NO SHIPPING. NONE. NADA. NO ONE KISSES BC THEY’RE ALL KIDS AND BILL PROBABLY DOESNT EVEN KNOW WHAT A ROMANCE IS

yeah. Love this au. Very fun. When they finally get to Gravity Falls, Ford has a panic attack and Stan is very proud of the copious amounts of law breaking
