as for whether or not kazuha would be ticklish, my answer to that question is, yes…BUT hear me out. let me cook👀

he’s very much a words of affirmation and quality time love language kind of guy for a platonic relationship

but in a romantic setting…oh you’re definitely gonna see some physical touch in there

i feel like hands are a big thing for him like he’s always looking to be holding your hand cause he just loves the feeling

the kind to gently kiss the back of your hand, your fingers, and down to your wrist which for you is admittedly kind of ticklish

not ticklish in a way that has you laughing but the kind that just sends a fluttery feeling all throughout your body

and he of course realizes this very quickly. so what does he do?

playfully teases you w/ it of course

you’ll be in the middle of typing something away on your laptop or writing something, fully immersed in your work

meanwhile kazuha is quietly watching beside you, feeling a bit needy because…archons you’ve been at it for the past hour and haven’t fully acknowledge him since he got home aside from greeting him with a smile

he’ll then do that thing of reaching his hand under yours, stopping you in your typing or if you’re holding a pencil, he’ll replace it with his interlocking your fingers letting the pencil fall

“kazu what’s wrong—” begins to kiss your hand painfully slow (in a good way) and softly starting at your fingertips and gradually working his way down and…oh great, now you’ve lost focus

what about him though? he gets all the fun of teasing the hell out of you with those hand kisses of his

you feel it’s only fair if you did the same. so now it’s your turn

you remember trying to subtly ask him if he was ticklish anywhere playing it off as some random question a friend had asked you

but he saw right through you. laughing softly at your strange but cute behavior, “love, are you trying to ask if i’m ticklish or not?”

damn him and his high sense of awareness

guess it’s time for plan b

at random points throughout the day, you’ll attempt to attack him with tickles. when he’s washing the dishes you’ll sneak up behind him and try to tickle his sides

“hm? yes love, did you need something?” nothing.

or when he’s laying down on the couch reading a book you’ll pretend to just walk by and then try to tickle his stomach but he’ll just look at you with that cute face of his like “…?”

“AHHH THIS IS SO UNFAIR! I HATE YOU!” watches you storm out of the living room a bit dumbfounded

dw he’ll come find you later and get you to stop being grumpy with him by offering to cuddle🥹

but then…that fateful day finally came

the two of you were cuddled up in bed, arms wrapped him as he read his book while brushing your hair that was slowly lulling you to sleep

wanting a more comfortable position, you moved your head away from his chest, now nuzzling into his neck

your small warm breaths hitting his neck, the way your nose softly brushed against his skin…his hand in your hair stopped in its motions.

“hmm…why’d you stop?” you frowned, stirring yourself awake as you moved your head away to look at him and that's when you saw the way his cheeks were now dusted in pink

you’ve found his weakness

now go back to those previous failed attempts of yours and replace them with you going up to him and buying yourself into his neck using the excuse of saying you just love the way he smells when he asks what you’re doing

which was a half truth anyways. he does smell good

idk why but i always imagined his scent to be some combination of vanilla orchid with amber/musk and some jasmine to give it that floral edge (personal hc of mine dont come at me yall)

on days when you were feeling extra mischievous you’d litter his neck with feather light kisses that always has him in a blushing mess

mission success! you finally got your revenge on him >:)

but just as you're about to walk away, feeling fully satisfied with yourself, he grabs your wrist, pulling you right back to him

“you didn't think i’d just let you get away with all the teasing you’ve been doing to me, did you dove?”

I need more feral Hiccup. Where he has an older brother to take over as Chief of Berk instead so Hiccup can go in all his adventures with Toothless. Maybe being known as "Stoick the Vasts' strange son." He is almost never seen around the village, and when he is, its usually just to work on more crazy inventions or an important family related thing. But even then, he is fidgety because he's not moving around near constantly. He can hang from trees, or anything he can grip onto. He lost his foot in the same way, and brought piece between Berk and the dragons. But he's still hard to control. Once he gets to about 18-19 he is finally allowed to leave the archipelago. He only followed the rule of no leaving the archipelago until a certain age. Once he leaves he finds the ship grave yard and the reaper. He explores it and finds the dragon eye. Keeping it, then making himself a target too Viggo Grimborn. They meet one night while Hiccup is just hanging out in the trees on Viggo's island. Viggo had been on a walk trying to calm down because Ryker is stupid and can't find "The dragon riding pest" who has something that belongs to them, and messes up their plans of capturing, killing and selling dragons. Hiccup was just fidgeting with something on his suit that had come loose, hanging upsidedown from a branch, back facing Viggo, who is rightfully confused. Why was this person hanging upsidedown on a tree branch for starters. And why was he on his island? Who is he?

Viggo realizes who he is once a night fury comes into view, said dragon having noticed Viggo just staring. Hiccup finishes what he was fixing and bends backwards (You know, cause hes flexible, Viggo is a little frightened by the position) to see who was behind him. He knew someone was there, he was just busy fixing something on his suit.

"So, you're the one who has been messing with my hunters." Viggo would start the conversation with. Hiccup would end up just leaving because he didn't (he did) have time for a conversation. They would keep running into each other until Viggo finally gets to see him without a mask covering his face. Viggo is taken back by how green Hiccups eyes are. And the freckles that are all over the boys face.

Obviously, Viggo isn't able to keep the feral dragon boy for long, Hiccup slips away and isn't seen for a couple weeks. In that time, Dagur joins the hunters, claiming to know Hiccup. The next time Hiccup is, somehow, captured, both Viggo and Dagur are there. He looks Dagur up and down and just says:

"Did you get uglier?" Viggo almost instantly falls in love with the way his voice sounds. He begins to become a bit, "a bit", obsessed with Hiccup. (We can go ahead and throw in some whump with this.) He then later learns that he can't keep Hiccup grounded if he wishes to get his love. Slowly, Viggo gets to know Hiccup and slowly stops hunting, killing and selling dragons. More interested in Hiccup. Obviously others are pissed about this, but Viggo doesn't care. Hiccup and Viggo start a romantic relationship over some time, Hiccup being allowed to go on his adventures when ever he wants. Not being grounded and refused the chance to be free, because thats not what Viggo wants. Hiccup always returns covered in mud, leaves, twigs in his hair, and cuts and scrapes. Viggo always help a with those, gives him the whole "You should be more careful out there" talk while doing so.

Oh, that reminds me of this post! I think when you sent this we as a fandom were discussing how Hiccup is more of an adventurer than a chief? This definitely plays into that! Him having an older brother would be super interesting. Wondering how that dynamic would work, and what would happen when others find out about Viggo.

Love their first “meeting”, by the way. Just… Hiccup hanging upside down from a tree and leaving once he’s spotted. Love how Viggo instantly clocks him as the one who’s been upending his operations.

It could be fun if something really bad happened to Hiccup on one of his adventures and Viggo has to go rescue him. The torment of worrying about him, of hoping he gets to him in time, of just not knowing.

Juicy ideas, my friend. Very juicy.

i have a strong urge to read a fanfic thats essentially just someone pointing out how strange atsushi and akutagawa's relationship can be and how akutagawa should do more traditional romantic stuff w/ atsushi unless he wants to lose him / be abandoned by him

so it follows akutagawa pretty much googling romantic things to do in a relationship and clicking the checkmarks

give flowers - he breaks into atsushi's apartment and fills it to the brim with plants

buy chocolates - well atsushi always ends up giving some of his sweets to ranpo anyway so akutagawa might as well half and half it between him and ranpo from the start

go dancing - atsushi ends up being awkward and embarrassed most of the time same w/ ryuu but they end up having fun

compliment their appearance: 'jinko ur eyes are very... eyes' 'thanks i think'

and its a hot mess tho atsushi, confused and disoriented, appreciates it anyway

the main thing is that atsushi and aktuagawa can be plenty romantic when they want to be but they dont show that in public much becuz theyre them and its just not like them - a lot of the things they do come more naturally and evolve as they get to know each other so even if they dont mark all the things on the list - they still work together rlly well

but the point of the fic is akutagawa trying to follow basic dating tips and failing miserably becuz he's putting too much thought into the action rather than atsushi and then him and atsushi beating up whoever gave akutagawa shit advice and told him atsushi would abandon him

Ever the romantic, Mona takes Valentine’s to its extreme. Before you’ve even awoken, she’s already matched your outfits for the day, intent for there to be splashes of pink, white, and red adorning you both from head to toe. Breakfast in bed is a must, and though you fear for your tastebuds - she follows the recipe. Flowers, chocolates, cards, gifts - anything you can imagine awaits you once you finally rise from your cell of slumber. After all, this is your perfect day and Mona’s already planned dinner and a murder party for you to solve together as you dine. In the evening, after you’ve had your fill, you’ll attend a couple’s painting class. Though she could instruct herself, she follows protocol, delighting in the shared drinks you two split and the paint spills you mark each other with.

“Oh…this? I painted it because it’s your favorite animal…right?”

Starting with a nice long walk around the park with his partner is an ideal start for Noel. Valentine’s isn’t about grand gestures, or trying to outdo one another. It’s about remembering the pleasure of each other’s comfort that tethered you two to begin with. However, something handmade from him to you isn’t off the table. The day will pass without hurry, the two of you spending hours at a local craft cafe, sampling treats and putting together trinkets for one another. When your crafts come to a close, you’ll pack up and pick-up some takeout that you’ll share while cuddling on the couch back home.

“Holy shit…my retinas are burning just looking at it. It’s perfect.”

Valentine’s, being a commercial holiday, is nothing more than an obvious capitalist scheme to Mary. So, why not indulge in the shopping fever to win over each other’s favor? Mary corrals you into an hour long shopping spree to start, the two of you picking out gifts secretly to surprise each other with later in the evening. Along the way, she’ll demand a fashion show…or a few, the two of you parading down the aisles in glitzy and gaudy outfits meant to shock any who pass your path. When the two of you are eventually kicked out, the two of you will rush home to find that Mary has planned an indoor picnic just for you. The rest of the night passes quickly as you feed each other treats, and take turns thinking about what kind of future you’d like to build together.

“Woah…almost feels like they based that riddle on us! Isn’t that strange?”

Vein + Valentine’s = flirtatious fun! There’s no better way to prove the strength of your relationship than putting it to the test in an Escape Room challenge Vein booked for the two of you. Expecting the space cowboy theme to come to a natural conclusion, you’re surprised that some of the clues needed to find the final prize involve riddles centered around your relationship and inside jokes. Though you press Vein, her lips are sealed. That is, until you find the final prize: a commissioned portrait of the two of you in your favorite game. To celebrate your victory thereafter, Vein takes you to her favorite local pizza joint. After all, you’ll need the energy for the arcade tonight. It’ll be an all out race to see who can win the grandest prize for the other.

“C’mon, sway with me.”

Valentine’s is guaranteed to be a late start for the two of you - and quite honestly you’d be lucky if Tempest opened his eyes before noon. But whenever he should manage to rise and conquer the day, Tempest is determined take you to a concert of your favorite artist that night. But if the date line-up isn’t in the cards, you can be damn sure he aims to surprise you good with the tickets at the dinner table. The dinner itself is relaxed, dim lit with a band in the back where you two can shoot the can. But when you’ve both had enough, you’ll stroll around the city, touring your favorite haunts, ending up at a pub at the end of the night, tipsy dancing to the songs playing through the speaker as you play pool and darts.

“Must we leave our sheets with such haste? I am but the moon, unready to separate from the sun who warms it.”

The virtues of Valentine’s are not lost on Sorin, nor the reason the holiday itself was created. But Sorin doesn’t yield to the standard expectations of the consumerism. There isn’t any need for showiness, time spent in your company is satisfying enough. The day will be spent indoor with activities Sorin has already prepared for the two of you. Cooking together, dancing to your shared songs, and cracking open a candle painting kit are just snippets of all they have planned for the two of you. The night ends, however, with the most elaborate surprise of all — a scavenger hunt, You search the halls of your hall, following the train of notes left by your love. When you finally reach the end, you happen upon a box filled to the brim with poems and other writings Sorin has penned to you.

I really love Toko, but i feel like its often constrained, largely due to the age gap. Like stories will often either be set in post-canon, or the characters will be aged up. Do you feel like that holds true and if yes do you feel like there's a dynamic that i'm missing. And post-canon is fun to explore, but i feel like the most interesting story telling is generally set while the war is ongoing. Conversely i feel like aging up Zuko would be fairly disruptive to his journey. Not that i think those are bad things, i'm really liking Third Time's the Charm that plays with the latter, and arranged marriage which to feels like a very natural trope for them, and obviously i love your art. They say for a reason that constraints inspire creativity. I'm just curious about your thoughts about that.

Hi! Thanks for the ask and sorry for the late reply (sickness prevented me from replying)

I have a lot to say about this, so let’s begin (it’s a loooooong answer).

Age gap is the most common argument against toko I’ve heard. And, to be honest, I find it really strange. You see, Aang and Zuko have the same age gap, and almost the same have Sokka and Toph, and nevertheless Tokka and Zukaang are quite widespread and supported ships, and no one cares for the age gap. That’s why I don’t really see why people believe that age gap as an issue in Toko.

And this argument sounds strange also because If relationship, even romantic one that are originates from friendship are starting to built it doesn’t mean they immediately become sexual. Kataang is canon and beautiful, but in reality several years should pass for them before they step into that kind of relationship. I’m even uncomfortable to think about Maiko having sexual activity in the canon, when they both are around 16.

Besides, it is difficult to imagine Zuko anything but aro/ace to me.

Toko's relationship originates from similar life experiences and mutual support for each other. This is not a love at first sight, but a gradually developing "friends-lovers" relationship. Which, by the way, completely similar with other canonical pairs, such as kataang.

Also I think that this argument originates from extremely wrong, primitive fanon interpretation of Zuko and Toph. Usually Zuko is depicted super mature and super experienced dude (all that dadko bullshit, omg), and they prefer to see Toph as some tomboy-ish brat (here in Russia people call such girls “the guy from the next yard”), rude, not serious and childish. Nothing can be farer from the truth.

In fact, Zuko is emotionally underdeveloped, traumatised and rather infantile due to the abuse he experienced. He Is a teenager with serious anger issues and bad social skills.

Toph is, otherwise, one of the most mature gaang members. She is able to understand and listen to other people , and she never demand anything back (“Yes, thank you Toph”. Indeed it woul be very nice of Sokka and Suki to thank her for saving their lives). Despite her guarding her boundaries carefully she is always open to other people and she is in good contact with her own emotions (which is what Zuko lacks). So in their relationship, at least that the very beginning Toph would be the most mature side (although it’s fair for every possible Zuko’s partner, such as Maiko, Zukka or Zukaang).

So I don’t think that Toko is having any problems in that sense.

On the one hand, I agree that it’s the most interesting when the relationship somehow develops during canonical events, and not in the post-canon. But in this case, this applies to absolutely any couples, except of maiko, kataang and sukka, since they are the only ones developing during the war. Any possible other relationships, such as Tokka, or Zukka, or Zukaang, can exist only in post-canon if canonical couples break up for some reason. Again, Toko is no exception in this case.

Zuko and Toph's relationship (doesn’t matter friendly or romantic) did not get the development they deserve in the third season. In fact, their relationship was just thrown under the bus because of the sloppy writing of the entire third season (to give Zuko one episode with each member of gaang just to check the box, like "mission accomplished" and give almost not developing of his relationship with each of them outside of these episodes. And Toph was robbed even of this). But despite this, toko still has more then any other fanon ships (although “Boiling Rock” is definitely a very Zukka episode). We see that Toph was the first one who believed Zuko, and not just believed - she actively defended him in front of the others and made an attempt to have a chat with him herself. It is important: the fact that Zuko's relationship with Toph is radically different from any other ones with the rest of the gaang member, since she was not with them when Zuko actively hunted the Avatar, and their first close interaction was after his redemption, when he became the best version of himself. Toph has no personal negative experience with him, and Zuko does not feel guilty towards her, and with her he doesn’t need to make up for anything, and this is very important.

Strangely enough, but, one of the most Toko moments of the show is the moment in which Zuko and Toph do not interact personally: the meeting of Iroh and Toph. She is also the first from gaang who met and even, one might say, became friends with Iroh. Iroh, who has always been Zuko's father figure is talking to Toph about real Zuko. Not about the imperialist prince cruelly pursuing the last hope of the world - the way Sokka, Katara and Aang knew him - but about just a boy only Iroh, his closes person, knew. In addition, Iroh, who knows and loves Zuko, says how much he and Toph have in common (Iroh is the first and main Toko shipper, and I will die on this hill). Narratively and dramatically, this is an amazing moment, and I will fight with anyone who says that Toko has little canonical content: any other Zuko ships can only dream about such a moment.

It is also interesting that it is with Toph that Zuko has the most sincere conversation about his guilt towards his uncle. He talked about it with Sokka and with Katara, but it was Toph who was able to tell him the right words that really comforted him and make him smile (seriously, this is the best smile Zuko has ever seen, and it happens during his conversation with Toph!)

We see that they feel extremely comfortable and open with each other, even though they barely know each other.

Toph is the only girl in the canon made Zuko to blush, just a fact. And Toph, in her turn, openly talks to Zuko her feelings for him (I'm not saying that her feelings were already romantic at that time ). "This is how I show affection" is just the best moment.

We can talk about many other canonical points that are important for toko: the similarity of characters and life experience - both Zuko and Toph are from the upper class, both grew up in abusive families and both know what it is to feel unloved by their own parents. The Blue Spirit/Blind Bandit is one of the most interesting and direct parallels of Toph and Zuko - an alter ego that they needes to get away from theirs social roles (a prince and a young lady from an aristocratic families). This is the same direct parallel as the canonical pair has: The Painted Lady/Kuzon. Just as Aang and Katara need alter egos to help others people which is the core of their characters and unites them,Toph and Zuko need alter ego in order to satisfy their own desire for freedom, which they cannot satisfy in any other way.

They are both disabled, forced to deal with the fact that people judge them by their disability and appearance, forced to prove every day what they are more than their disability. Again: neither Zuko nor Toph share such an experience with anyone else, only with each other.

So canonically, toko has a lot of support - certainly no less than any other fanon ship.

After all, they look amazing together.

Also, I just love the moment with kissing doves. Seriously, ATLA rarely show us such a perspective, why they needed to place such a scene in the same shot with Toph and Zuko as if it were foreshadowing their future relationship? God, I love it!

I really like to explore the post-canon, especially since I don’t consider comics and LOK to be canon, although it doesn't even matter - nothing in them contradicts the idea that Toph and Zuko could be together at least at some point in their lives.

To explore alternative universes for toko, such as the arranged marriage plot, is also a very interesting, and it would be great to talk about it another time.

I was rereading jshk and, although I know sometimes the translation is not usually as accurate or the best (even when it is by the publisher with its license) BUT I looked up the kanjis and yep, it's correct both in the fans version and with the [official] of the publisher.

(Although, be careful, in the editorial they translated it as 'obsessed with his brother', while in the translation by the fans it is 'brother complex', the latter being the closest and most accurate translation, since from Japanese [ブラコン] in Spanish/English is brocon, precisely the kanji that Mei draws on Amane's cheek)

I'm also thankful that I had read something about brocon before or I wouldn't have noticed this.

The curious and funny and half-fucked thing in the sense that Aidairo blurted this out so casually through Mei that you don't know if she's making fun of him for it and warning Yashiro Jaksjk or it's just a joke, right, when you investigate brocon/brother complex the definition encompasses [taken from wikipedia, btw] a state of strong attachment and obsession with siblings and its general description is a sister/brother who has "feelings of love towards their brother" and "exclusive desire to possess"; adding that it usually has more influence on the way they develop their lives, for example, choosing spouses who are similar to their siblings.

(It has greater content but, basically, it is like a relative of the Oedipus complex) (I added the couples example because a while ago I read a publication about the similarities between Yashiro and Tsukasa and I found it curious)

I haven't read anyone else mention anything about this, maybe because I haven't found them or maybe it's not a big deal and just a joke from Aidairo to us (or maybe they thought we wouldn't notice idk) and I'm thinking about it too much.

Also because i don't think Mei knows much about the twins unless Tsukasa told her about it, and she just wanted to laugh at him for whatever she noticed about them (which, likewise, is strange because no one else has externalized that kind of thinking about the yugi brothers).

Anyway, I would like to know your opinion about the panels. (and I want to ask if you would extend your publication to an analysis of the Yugi Twins, taboo dilemma)

So, everything you said makes a strong connection with the story of the Yugi twins, and I've even been wondering for some time now about his obsession, possessiveness and insecurity born because of Tsukasa's disappearance when they were children.

He has a strong fear of losing, he tends to want to cry when he feels threatened, when he is very jealous, in short.

Do you know why there aren't many mentions of this? Because of the taboo. The fandom is just now starting to accept that there is something WEIRD about their relationship.

I've been cautious about talking about this precisely because I fear whether or not people are ready to talk about it. The fandom cannot support the idea of twins having a romantic relationship between them, and it is justifiable, not even nature accepts this, many bloodlines from ancient Egypt ended due to genetic diseases that perpetuated for years because of marriages between brothers.

So I'm taking it slow, talking about it little by little so that the fandom can understand that MAYBE, the twins are in love with each other, and like you said, we don't know if it's something canon or just a joke by Aidairo.

But yes, the story is developing in a way that leads us to a forbidden love between them. A love that Amane tries to suffocate…..

- Storm King still doesn't treat a pegasus like you as an equal unless you submited to him at the start.

- In his own twisted way he adores you...

mammon was flattered. That his human was copying him. Of course, he assumed this was on purpose, that you wanted to be everything like the great mammon. When he one day bought it up, you looked confused. When you realised, he was embarrassed. He tried not to show it though, proclaiming that he knew despite a red flush covering his face to his ears. He still thinks it’s cool, but also strange

leviathan is very uncomfy. Why would you copy a yucky otaku like him?? Is this a normie thing to make fun of him? You can tell from his straighter posture and seemingly shorter temper that somethings on his mind. So when you sit in his room, playing Devil Kart, you ask. When you explain, he goes into a whole ramble about how he only thought it was done in video games to show if characters are friendly. Genuinely this dumbass is lucky you like him

asmodeus thinks it’s adorable. The cute human copying him? He wants a few pictures and praises you endlessly. He’s never seen this, as he barely spends meaningful time around humans, and he lovesss it. He eventually researches into it and he loves it even more when he finds out it can be to do with sharing relationships and emotions he may or may not ignore the slim chance it’s an intimidation thing in all seriousness, he thinks everything you do is great and this is another reason for him to love you

Satan is enraged. He thinks you’re mocking him initially, despite his vast knowledge. Maybe he should’ve thought before taking immediate offence to your behaviour. When he starts shouting, you’re very confused. You were Just sitting together doing homework and now he’s annoyed that you’re mocking him? Even you don’t know as much as Satan about human social behaviours, and in response to your genuine confusion, Satan stops to think. Then he realises. It means you’re comfortable in his presence, and he fears now he’s ruined that. He swiftly explains himself and apologised before setting himself down again, and bling to see you do it again

Beelzebub is intrigued. He doesn’t notice initially, and when he does he’s curious. So instead of beating around the bush like the others, he just asks. When you explain, he remembers that Belphie used to talk about how it was an amazing thing humans can do due to threats. He doesn’t mention it but the thought makes him smile a bit bigger. He notes when you do it now, after further research. He thinks it’s another interesting quirk humans have

belphegor knew about this from when he loved humans. He’s always found social behaviours in humanity intriguing, but this is one he struggles more to have a grasp of, because it can be done to show comfort or to intimidate. He hopes it’s for the right reasons when he notices you do it. The slight quirk in his lips as he notices you do it isn’t very noticeable and he won’t mention it, but he hopes (and is glad if you) comfortable around him

Diavolo is fascinated by this behaviour! Why do humans do this? He takes to the library extremely quickly after you leave from the tea party you had shared together. Sure, he’d ditched his paper work, but he was sure barbatos could understand! He couldn’t by the way. In fact he was very angry, though the only way you could tell was from how the smile seemed to drop off his face and his eyes shining with an air of malevolence he likes seeing you exhibit this behaviour, he feels as though he is learning so much about humans, and you (most likely) feel comfortable around him! Over the moon!!

barbatos knew this happens, he has experience with humans but it never failed to amuse him how you slightly copied his actions. He couldn’t help the small exhale of air out of his nose, and gave a prompt response when you asked what was wrong. And the slight embarrassment you felt made it even more enjoyable to watch, as a blush crept up to the tips of your ears. You never cease to amaze him in your actions, and hopes you will be happy, for all the good you do unto them, despite their demonic nature

Solomon finds it hilarious how the other dont understand it, even powerful demons like lucifer and Diavolo. Genuinely barely notices when you do it and he does it himself, less often but still. It’s laughable in his eyes, lucifers bafflement, Diavolos excitement. He found himself talking to barbatos, when he saw this. He already figured that demons didn’t due to having no need to, but barbatos confirmed it for him, and confessed that he too saw humour in the actions of the brothers and his master

When I started watching Star Wars, Obikin as a romantic couple didn't cross my mind. Maybe, as when watching the latest gossip about Hollywood couples, I didn't dig any further than the canon version.

Today, with hindsight, I understand we can interpret their relationship differently. Its fanbase is also so fun to read and inspiring that I can only end up adhering to the idea.💞

Is it, as many people say, a problematic ship ?

At the risk of sounding strange, for me, not really.

Why?

1. Obikin is not incestuous.

Obiwan and Anakin aren't brothers. They don't share the same blood, and Obiwan has never adopted Anakin.

They are LIKE brothers.

The difference seems small to you, but it's fundamental. Two people can describe themselves as "brothers" because they're very close without wanting, for various reasons, to be labelled as friends, or lovers.

2. Their age cap isn't a problem.

I haven't seen anyone shipping Obikin with Anakin as a kid. It's obvious the version that is shipped is beginning from Attacks of the Clones.

[Same for Anakin and Padme, no one ships Padme with TPM's version of Anakin. I will write on Anidala very soon because I also love them.]

More, I've never been bothered by couples with big age gap. As long as the two lovers are adults, I don't see where the problem is.

Rather than the age, people should rather focus on the atmosphere surrounding a pair : are they happy together... or not ? Do one bring something positive to the other... or not ?

Don't get me wrong, I understand you may think it's groundless to see something more than a fraternal or platonic relationship between these two characters. Everyone is free to interpret their bond as they wish.

I'm just quite perplexed by those who attack this fictional ship because it would be "dangerous" or "problematic".

Because it's not.

I cannot stress this enough: in this household we support Gabriel's rights and Gabriel's wrongs

In my opinion he was just a really misunderstood and abused kid, who coped with ppl villainizing him constantly by becoming the monster everyone accused him of being

He internalized his traumatic experiences and now believes he's basically the antichrist and that he's incapable of changing

Also he could've not, yknow, killed a bunch of ppl and terrorized his sister for years, he is totally responsible for being a shitty person dont get me wrong

But at the same time, he was a kid. I feel bad for the fact that becoming this vengeful ghost of a person was the best option in his young mind. No child should ever have to make that choice, no kid should even consider that as a choice

He still is, in some ways, mentally a child. He didn't get to experience the milestones for an adult that Emily did, and from day one he was treated like a thing. His inner child is constantly *screaming* at him, begging for attention, but he got pretty good at pushing his feelings down and ignoring his own needs while in pursuit of his goals

He is very very immature because of all this. Think tantrums, having a terrible sense of object permanence, deeply rooted abandonment issues, etc

Even tho Emily managed to lock in that mind??? prison ??? thing??? he still gets out from time to time and that's how he met you: fucking around town while he could

Im not gonna dwelve in too deep as to how you guys started a relationship (romantic or platonic) but now you're the only person he trusts

He is capable of feeling empathy, just not a lot and not for everyone. With you he feels incredibly sensitive and caring, which is totally foreign to him and kinda makes him feel like he's gone "soft" - so don't make fun of him (or a big a deal out of the whole thing) when he expresses concern, or he will shut you down like he did with his sister

I kinda hc him as using sarcasm/humor to cope, so he'd be cracking some witty jokes here and there whenever he's nervous about doing something

his regression/caregiving style:

He is a flip through and through, though it would take a long time for him to accept his "little" side

He hates being vulnerable, hates not having the upper hand and control over things, so he would downright beat himself up for being "weak" and still having these childlike needs and thoughts

But remember he feels like he's doomed, like he can't help being a "monster"? Being a caregiver would help him immensely with these thoughts because even though he's a piece of shit gremlin, he would never intentionally hurt a child

So by letting yourself regress around him he would learn he can choose his fate. He is not doomed, because he is capable of seeing you in your most vulnerable state and not even consider the idea of taking advantage of that

And that blows his mind off lmao

And for some ~mysterious reason~ he starts to feel a little better, and to do a little better

Needless to say Emily is beyond grateful you're in their lives. Gabriel totally refuses to go to therapy (doctorphobic lol), and their relationship is as bad as it gets, but since you showed up Gabriel hasn't been a prick to her. He is very moody still, but they're not fighting over control of their brain and body anymore. Because of you, they started to be able to tolerate each other's presence and now they try their best to both not fight in front of you and to share their body as best as they can

He lowkey doesn't know how to act around you at first lmao, its kinda of endearing. He wont show but he's gonna be panicking inside and will wonder if the slightest touch or thing he says would hurt you

He cares. A lot, all the time, and since its just the two of you and he feels so strangely safe around you, he'll allow himself to be 100% invested in taking care of you

He's a craftsman, which could maybe make you think he'd spoil you rotten with gifts (which he will) but I feel he also wouldn't want to shut up about how absolutely adorable you look

Wouldn't go too crazy with the nicknames tho, at most would call you kitten/puppy/bunny

I figured moving probably feels pretty painful to him, so he'll deal a lot better with calm/sleepy regressors

But don't get too excited thinking he'd let you do whatever you want: he can and he will put you on one of those kid leashes with the backpack if he has to

I think that, with time, he'd go from a sort of lenient cg to a more strict one- it would help him to give someone rules to follow cus he'd have to take care of himself better to be able to take care of you

The most therapeutic thing to him about all this is to be able to give someone the childhood he didn't get to have: you'll never feel alone, he'll never belittle you or make you feel like there's something inherently wrong with you

On the contrary: he'd make a point on teaching your regressed self to love and accept yourself as best as you can

BIG fan of gentle parenting, got a tiktok account solely to watch those vids and to make mental notes on how to better care for you

Would get pretty jealous and protective over you and your relationship, specially around Emily

If you guys ever go out together and you happen to regress in public he will not let you feel bad about it. You better not take that paci out of your mouth honey, cus there's nothing to be ashamed of here

He isnt super big on parental nicknames, thinks dada/papa is fine but absolutely prefers bubba over those

Isnt super excited about touch at first either. At the begging of your relationship he would outright refuse it, but since discovering his cg headspace he has allowed himself to admit he's absolutely somewhat touch starved

Expect lots of little touches here and there, like brushing hair out of your face/tucking it behind your ear, adjusting your clothes, fixing your eyebrows, etc

Remember he's a craftsman? He loves making you big gifts out of literally anything he can get his hands on i.e. has turned one of Emily's old wooden pieces into a bunch of Montessori-inspired toys and plans on doing it again, cus fuck you Emily

Despite being good with big pieces, his fine motor skills are a disaster (thanks for having to use Emily's arms backwards). If you ever let him do your hair he will mess it up (and will get a good laugh out of both of you)

He is a great storyteller and loves playing pretend: will make up bed time stories on the spot

He's got a lot to learn, but if you give him enough love and try to be patient he'll outmatch your energy and will dedicate himself, body and soul, to you

Super caring cg once he finds a safe place to live and thrive in

not gonna make a bullet point post regarding pagan/vaas headcanons i just want to think of them based on their vibes.

warnings for canon-typical sexual stuff, that includes mentions of underage sex (vaas was like 16-- just to note but its not with pagan but with hoyt) and complicated relationships with the aftereffects thereon, mentions of incest (thank you citra)

first off i would like to thank my headcanons of hoyt terrorizing vaas's teenhood and decorating it with a transactional sexual relationship and furthermore fucking it up for him with older men. vaas's relationship with men is crazy cuz he's gay but any woman aside from citra just felt straight up unpleasant, no matter how much he tried. comphet, social pressure and an incestuous relationship with your sister sure does something to your sexual state huh

anyway. pagan and vaas. pagan and fucking vaas.

they're not at all romantic (but it could be but who knows), meeting in circumstances that ended with pagan smacking the gun out of vaas's hand to pin him against the wall with a knife against his throat, but that's usually how vaas is with men.

violence is a love language, after all. whether that be from the way he used to get hurt a lot when hoyt used to use him (and he really means use), his warnings-slash-tests he's provided jason with for his strength... there's a list that can go on. vaas doesn't really know people without it. started with citra, continued on with hoyt, doesn't know how it's going to end but... that's the thing.

doing the same thing, over and over again.

so when they start off like that vaas's breath almost gives away his surprise but pagan just gives him a small chuckle before he stops touching him, vaas is suddenly unsure as to how to go about the eccentricity and femininity this man exudes because he's never actually seen a man like that at all.

i think theyd be like. super slow in developing a connection but vaas’s interest in him doesn’t even happen up until the start of like. the more they do interact. he thinks pagan is strange in his nature, but it pisses him off to no end when he has to deal with him in the process because he doesn’t exactly like this type of strangeness, but it’s familiar in the same way a dog would find a wolf familiar.

he doesn’t like that he feels vulnerable because he’s got a weaker spot for older men, especially men who have power in their hands and vaas has focused a little too much on pagan’s fingers and the way the bones move under the backs of his palms; he’s not sure why his eyes move down to where the hands are when it comes to men but— he does.

so he puts back on that tough guy act. unfortunately, pagan is good at cracking through brazen masculinity. especially the vulnerable spots vaas has out in the open, he can see it: the defensiveness, the insecurities, the fear. like a little feral dog it seems that his defense mechanisms are useless against the way pagan knows how to make boys like him— boys, because to hoyt he’d never be a real man, to anybody he’d never be a real man and not even to vaas— behave.

and it makes vaas so uncomfortable. makes him angry. makes him frightened. what the hell does this maricon think he’s doing huh? ohhh, for sure he must be fucking testing my motherfucking limits no? no no no, please, get THE FUCK out.

but… it’s almost like gaslighting. pagan is doing something but his calm approach to vaas with his interactions make it seem like he just isn’t doing anything. but there it is again. and it comes again. and it drives vaas up the fucking wall because what the FUCK did i say about the definition of insanity?

and he gets memories of hoyt. hoyt who “played” with him, hoyt who, for the most part, had too much fun making him his little throwaway toy. the closer pagan gets to him the eerier and clearer the memories become to him and they are not nice.

so he asks pagan, visibly shaken, probably months later when they spend the rest of their time having to know each other, what the fuck he wants from him.

pagan simply looks him up and down and says, “i just want you, dear boy.”

(or so, he wishes intrusively for that day.

vaas would never actually ask or think past this, just assume that pagan’s another one of the hoyts, and that reminder is what makes him so angry— whatever it is that pagan wants from him, hoyt had taken it from him anyway, citra had taken it from him too, there’s nothing left for vaas to give him and he’s firm on that stance.)

but vaas was never good at making good decisions anyhow. the closeness of a man, the touch of a man, the approval, the love… vaas had only really known it in short bursts, if there was anything like that, but that was the past. hoyt and citra made up most of it. you could talk love and desperation and want and need with citra but when it comes to hoyt? you could talk about how much you just wanted to be taken care of, to be cared for, to be touched by a man and know what it feels like to be one in His hands.

it fucking sucks, lmao.

so when the opportunity comes, when pagan comes into his mind again, pagan who’s dealt with boys like him, his older presence and his sophisticated anger, vaas is afraid to realize that he honestly kind of wants him as much as pagan has been flirting with him too.

vaas has never been good at making good decisions. if he wanted to be loved by someone he should’ve been dead a long time ago. now is not the time for that— maybe they can fuck and get it over with and never speak about it again; vaas can ignore the way pagan calls him pretty, touches him softly and keeps him in a closed distance that his touch starvation simply cannot handle, can see that this is not anything new, just because he’s some pink posh peacock of a person doesn’t mean he isn’t a man and, for the most part, vaas just scoffs. he’s still just a man. he really is just a man.

so he lets him do what he wants with him. just like the old days, because this is as good as it gets.

(he’d be surprised to know that pagan could change that.)

the first thing that has been on my mind a lot lately is the way people (both in the rpc and just in general fandoms) will go OUT OF THEIR WAYYYYY to villainize any female character that gets in the way of their perceived gay ships. i mean they will pick these women apart. they will say they breathe wrong, they will say they are walking red flags for x amount of reasons when these characters are just genuinely trying to live their life and be human. i dont know if its the lack of awareness on the parts of these people about the way romantic relationships actually work or just a no i need these two dudes to kiss mindset but it is driving me wild more and more. You want to write gay ships? fucking go for it. by all means. but do not shit over any CANON piece of the source media just in order to make them gay. there are ways to do divergences etc without being like this woman sucks, death to her!!!!!

going along with the above, i'm tired of seeing sexualized gay ships. that's fetishization. plain and simple. i've seen things that say i don't write smut with my female muses or hetero ships but i absolutely will write it with my gay muses. what the hell is that??? i've seen people tag their smut threads etc with commentary thats like 'love it when boys do boys' and 'oof this is making me hot' . WHAT?! and these are cis women saying these things. stop !!

again, along the same vein here but ... fetishization doesnt mean just sexual stuff. thinking things are inherently cute just because its two males in love is strange and not the way the world works. gay boys have problems (hunter and i can attest to that lmaooo) and nothing is aw so sweet so cute they're so in love just because the ship is between two gay men. if you're going to write gay ships (or any ship!!), portray it accurately. you're writing people, not cardboard cutouts meant to fulfill your weird fantasies

divergences are not canon. i have seen things (especially in the current 'fandom' that this blog belongs to) that claim these whackadooodle ideas are canon when they are not. i mean claim they're canon to the point where i second guessed myself and thought maybe entire scenes had been left out of the version i watched. but no. its just insanity.

ok so like. bellum x linebeck is a weird ship and the only ship i have in my small little collection thats Like That

i mean. the other ones are like…

damibeck is soft oc x canon its my canon linebeck ship theyre boyfriends theyre husbands damien is his childhood friend and they are very close from the get go for various reasons its like. generally normal romance its a comfort thing at times but also something i can make interesting or at the center of a conflict

ganonbeck is a fun crackship sort thing that started as a joke but turns out to have genuinely interesting ideas you can use with it so its probably the most versatile in how i use it

bellum x linebeck is the only one where they canonically meet and good lord idk how to convert my weird abstracts ideas and thoughts (and joke ideas) into coherent ship ideas but ill try here

like. bellum isnt much of a character while linebeck is a great character so off the bat i kinda have to figure out. what bellum is like. but i think he generally finds linebeck interesting and is civil in a post game setting for a handful of reasons, including that curiosity abt linebeck and a vague respect for him. i think linebeck has a shaky understanding of bellum as well as a similarly weird respect, but would need a little more time to really trust him, but they both start off with some weird comfort bc like. they probably know each other p intimately already

like with bellumbeck stuff bellum likely learns a lot abt linebeck through that, and going with the ideas i have abt what goes on during that, linebeck learns a lot abt bellum, too, so they have a baseline understanding of each other. i want to keep empathy out of it generally, esp on bellum’s side of things (i hc linebeck as being low empathy but with bellum specifically its either low emparhy too or no empathy at all, problem being i have a hard time like. recognizing empathy vs no empathy like idk what the difference is if that makes sense. i want bellum to actively choose to be nice or w/e instead of just like. feeling bad or w/e, idk what part empathy might play in recognizing that you have similarities with something)

like i dont want to spill the beans on a lot of linebeck and bellum backstory stuff bc id rather do that through fic stuff, but they have a general understanding of each other through like. vague. situation comparison (with linebeck its like. minor dot connecting and some stretches of imagination but that doesnt do it all for him while for bellum its a kinda oh shit moment), and bellum just finds linebeck interesting in the unconventional (and frustrating) way he had to deal with him and how and why he failed to 1) fully control and convince him of certain things and 2) linebecks survival is something he did not anticipate at all so for bellum theres this fascination in linebeck as hes a guy who broke every rule bellum thought was in place with this thing he’d done before and is just like. hey man what the fuck. in that curiosity. in a strange sense linebeck is untouchable to bellum bc of this (not literally but. yknow)

like i dont think id want to write this as some kind of explicit or conventional romance, just some weird relationship thing that slips into romantic, into sexual, into intimate, and then back out into that weird nebulous area

New dream diary.

This one was kind of odd in its tone. At times deathly serious, and others incredibly superficial. I dreamed that I was in a far future kind of setting where this game had kind of taken over the world at large for good and for ill. It existed in many forms: a miniature based war game, a trading card game, and mixed reality massively multiplayer online video game. I say mixed reality, not just as something that incorporates real world objects into itself, but as something that directly affects reality as well. It also conferred great powers on high level players. But I will get back to this in a bit.

Another aspect of this dream was that I was in a polyamorous relationship in a sort of hub and spoke system. Myself and a few other people were romantically involved with this one woman, but weren't really involved with each other. And for whatever reason, the polycule all lived together, except for the woman we were all romantically tied to. Some of them I got along with great, and we were good friends, but this one guy I did not much like at all and we pointedly tried to spend as little time around each other as possible. This is borne out at one point by this guy talking up how much time they are going to spend together the next time she visits, and I take him at his word. But when she arrives, she specifically wants to be with me.

This is awkward for a number of reasons, not all of them interpersonal. I had been prepping for a day to myself, playing a single player version of the card game which was offline but could still record progress and would update my associated stats upon the next time I logged in. I also had not fully bathed, and this is where the dream took a very tonally strange tangent. Instead of bathing at home like would be the sane thing to do, I instead find out about a fully automated robotic bathhouse in India, and opt to use it instead. Doing so involves me fully teleporting myself to the complete other side of the world, which I do as a lark. But in doing so, I forget to bring my shampoo, so my hair is still a greasy mess. And again, instead of just doing it at home, I feel the need to make the trip once more.

Unsurprisingly, one of the things our shared romantic interest wanted to do together was have sex. But in thinking I was not going to be partaking today, I gratified myself shortly before she arrived. Which the dude who lied about her being with him today (sorry that I don't have names here, my dream did not provide any so I have to describe everyone in terms of my relationship to them) makes fun of me for doing. Which, in addition to being shitty by itself, he implies that by doing so I am unworthy to be in a relationship with her because of it. For her part, she does not seem to pay this any mind. She is actually quite interested in the details, because she finds the idea of me touching myself to the idea of her very hot. From here the narrative starts to pull away, as for whatever reason my dreams will often be sexually charged but they almost never actually feature any explicit sexual content.

The narrative then takes on a more limited-omniscient perspective, showcasing the shared goings-on of the other members of the polycule as I am away with our shared love. Specifically, it starts with one of the people I am friends with investigating a recent, and hugely influential moment that happened in the MMO part of this game. It was a group activity that involved trying to stop the latest attack from the antagonist faction, which went about as bad as it could have. All of us had different roles and skill sets, which we had tried to apply as best we could to minimize the impact of this event. I will spare the unimportant details, but the long and short of it is the my role was the intelligence gatherer, and I found out what the object of this enemy incursion was. Despite being about a large scale attack across many parts of the in-game space, the main objective for them was a bomb, planted in a playground at a school. I tried to warn people of this, saying "Its a bomb, in the mirror in the playground." But for whatever reason my messages were becoming garbled and what people heard was "In the mirror underground" and no one could make sense of it, so they took it as being spam.

While the thing with the bomb was happening, the guy who was determined to undermine me was dealing with his own problems. He had proper heard my warning and had been trying to make his way to the school to either disarm it or evacuate. Unfortunately, he had run afoul of the bunch of extremely dangerous high-level enemy monsters. They were the weird giant worm-like things that could move shockingly fast, and had minor reality warping powers. Specifically, they had the ability to redirect kinetic weapons fire elsewhere, which was a big problem because that was the main way this dude engaged in combat. The last time he had fought these things, they redirected his bullets into another member of the polycule, and killed them. Vowing to not let that happen again, he instead tries to escape, but it proves very difficult as he has become surrounded. The one merciful thing about these worm enemies is that while they have incredible hearing and absurd reaction speed, they are completely blind. So while he can't find his way free or fight out, as long as he stays calm he isn't in much danger himself.

Eventually though, the time to stop the attack passes and the bomb does end up going off. It is discovered in the aftermath that the reason the placement went undetected was because the explosive being used is a new, novel compound that does not read as an explosive. It is functionally an inert mud in basically all circumstances, but once the catalyst is introduce it becomes a hyper-powerful energetic explosive. To the point that all it took to blow up this whole school was something about the size of a tennis ball. And the very weird thing is, the catalyst is blood. Any kind will work.

Also in the ongoing investigation, there is a secondary site where no lives were lost but has fairly significant structural damage. In winding back the game state to see how bad it actually is, he sees that a player was present at the time of the event. It turns out to be the guy who was trapped by the worms. It seems in his frustration at having not been able to stop the explosion, in the ensuing chaos after he went on a destructive rampage in a place where there were no people present and then used the editing powers granted to high-level players to make it look like it was done by the opposing faction.

When my time alone with my paramour comes to an end, my friend quietly confronts me with the information that the other guys was responsible for the secondary destruction. We are keeping it on the down low not because we place any blame on him, but because we see that this event has enormously effected him and that we want to try and help him work through what he's going through. So we opt to try and organize a group activity for the whole polycule.

While that is happening, the subject of all our affection tries to make good with the dude who is clearly Going Through It and low-key making it everyone's problem. She tries assisting him with other aspects of the game like the TCG and the miniature, but at every juncture, he brushes her off and intimates that he is better off alone. Which obviously is very upsetting to her.

In the meantime however, we have finished our planning for the group excursion. We opt for something simple in just taking a walking tour of an area downtown and sampling the food and drink available at the best places there. As we are are out and about, an incident occurs. In a shared roadway, a dude in a pickup truck doesn't stop for us, and I end up doing pretty intense damage to it to stop it before it hits anyone. In trying to fix up his truck in the aftermath, I end up kind of ham-fistedly apply the high-level editing powers that I have only recently been given access to. I try to restore the surface of the hood of the truck back to what it was, but end up incorporating the surface of the road and the dirt beneath into it's appearance. While my friend shows me more direct ways of utilizing the powers to more useful ends, the troubled guy goes to check on the driver.

It's at this point that this take a turn for the worse. The driver is fully unconscious, which is odd because the truck had been moving very slowly at the time of the accident. In checking his face against records, it turns out that this guys is a known collaborator with the enemy faction and is wanted by the authorities. As this is happening we have opened the hood to see if there was any damage to the engine that we can repair. And we find...nothing. No engine, no battery, nothing that would allow this car to move under it's own power. Just ruptured containers and what looks for all the world like clay soil. We quickly realize that this car was being used to smuggle whatever this substance is, and by hiding it in the engine bay and impelling it through unseen means, cursory searches wouldn't find it. Some kid grabs a chunk of it, and before anyone can stop him, all hell breaks loose.

In handling it and tossing it to himself, it hits a mosquito and it becomes abundantly clear what this stuff is. it explodes with a incredible report, and the whole scene erupts in incredible carnage. Because of how crowded this place had been, the viscera keeps reigniting it, all while the shock of the explosions push the remaining amounts of the stuff all over the place. It has a terrible cascading effect where is seems that there is no safe place to be. Even those off street level in the buildings above are succumbing to secondary and tertiary explosions. I am able to survive the initial blast and try to corral people to stem the tide of violence, but nothing seems to be working. While all this mayhem is going on, I see my love trying to save someone who has broken off from the group. And I see in excruciating detail as a rogue piece of debris catches her in the head and immediately and soundlessly kills her.

At this point I wake up.

I am yet another fan of your astrology work! I've loved reading all of the posts, and I love the care and enthusiasm you bring - there's something so warm and magical and communal about it - almost like we're all sitting around a campfire and you're looking up at the stars and telling us stories. Zero pressure if you're burning out on these, but would you be open to sorting me?

I identify as a Hufflepuff but that's not what my astrology says at all haha. I think I might be a sneaky Slytherin in Hufflepuff clothing. (What better way to hide some Slytherin ambition and cunning and moodiness and darkness than under a sunshine Hufflepuff shell?)

Katie!!!! Aw shucks, I am blushing! For ages I hesitated to talk about astrology, because I have a hard time explaining concepts in cold factual ways. I'm much more of a storyteller at heart! And I felt so silly spinning these concepts I know into more imagery and sensory ways. But it's so fun for me to embrace and share, and it brings me such joy that others are connecting to it!

It is funny you connect with Hufflepuff, but suspect a deeper Slytherin side. I do see very minimal Hufflepuff, but if we fall back onto the elements...air and fire get along (air feeds fire) and water and earth get along (water nourishes earth.) So we can see the ways in which say Ravenclaw and Gryffindor can connect, and the way Slytherin and Hufflepuff connect.

Just at a glance I'm going to tentatively say Slytherin, but we'll explore this deeper, and at the end I'll point out where we might see bits of that Puff coming through.

So, at face value, we have:

Sun - Scorpio - water - Slytherin

Moon - Aquarius - air - Ravenclaw

Rising - Aries - fire - Gryffindor

Mercury - Sagittarius - fire - Gryffindor

Venus - Libra - air - Ravenclaw

Mars - Scorpio - water - Slytherin

I'm going to delve into this in a strange order by grouping the elements together and exploring more that way.

Let's start with...air. Air signs are generally connected to the mind, a focus on intellect and sociability.

The moon (realm of emotions and subconscious) in Aquarius, the fixed (steady, stubborn) air sign. I do see a good bit of Aquarius in you, actually. That humanitarianism and individualism. There's a thirst for freedom, for the self, and for others. This is similar to Sagittarius (which also highly values freedom), but for Aquarius it's sort of at odds with its fixed (strict) energy. Aquarius also has a strange sense of detachment for a sign so focused on society. I get this sense of Aquarius is too focused on the big picture to slow down and look at the details. Aquarius is all about making waves, and marching to the beat of its own drum. It's the rebel, the freedom fighter. The odd duck. The mad scientist. It's all about innovation and progression.

So for the moon to be in Aquarius feels this very great inner need to be different, to explore, to learn. This comfort of knowing, the comfort of goals and ambition and ideals. It's highly logical. Relies on facts. They're quite quirky, quite funny, and certainly unique! Big Ravenclaw vibes for sure, but also a sense of Gryffindor to it, with that big "fighting for a cause" feel.

Then there's Libra, the cardinal (forward-moving, take charge) air sign in Venus (realm of love and pleasure.) Better yet: Venus is domicile in Libra! Basically, Venus works very well powered by Libra energy. Libra is friendly, charming; values harmony, balance, fairness, and justice. Libra Venus has a very aesthetic sense to it; probably has its own style, its own sense of beauty. Libra Venus loves making connections, values relationships (romantic or otherwise!) Libra is the diplomat. Big devil's advocate energy, very seeing all sides. Libra wants to be honest and fair and make things right. Venusian aesthetic (creativity) meets airy intellect (wisdom, knowledge) for big Ravenclaw vibes. But we also get a sense of Hufflepuff here. Libra's desire for peace, fairness, acceptance, understanding, etc.

Next...the fire signs! Fire is connected to the spirit, and is focused on energy and boldness. You have a fiery ascendant and fiery Mercury!

Mercury governs information, the sharing and receiving of it. So: travel, communication, technology, learning, writing. In Sagittarius, where it is in fall (so Mercury's aims struggle a bit with a Sagittarius battery pack.) Sagittarius is the traveler and the philosopher. Free-spirit, easygoing, openminded. Sagittarius needs to experience life (other people, other cultures, other lands) to learn and to grow. Sagittarius is optimistic, and a visionary...this all sounds like it should mesh well with Mercury, only it doesn't. Sagittarius' aims are a bit too broad, and Mercury necessitates a bit more detail and directness. Mercury can't really focus in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is restless and learns best by looking at subjects they care about, which tend to be a bit more inclined towards larger subjects, and less reliant on hard, cold facts. Sagittarius is warm. It needs to connect and move and go at its own pace, in its own direction. Very Gryffindor, yeah. But we can give it a nod to Ravenclaw, since it is so creative and thirsts for wisdom and knowledge.

Then rising, how you interact with the world and how the world perceives you, is in Aries, the cardinal (forward-moving) fire sign. Aries is the warrior. Competitive, loves a challenge, a bit impulsive. Full of fierce, fiery passion. Very independent and opinionated. A bit aggressive, maybe, and intimidating to some. Aries is trying to lead the charge, dang it! And when you pair it alongside Aquarius' humanitarianism and Sagittarius' philosophy, we can sort of see this presence comes from a cause. You present yourself as a warrior, because you have something to fight for. Big Aries energy, for sure, but bits of Slytherin, too. I say this, because Aries is ruled by Mars, and Mars rules both Aries and Scorpio. But we'll delve more into that shortly.

So...Aries rising also means: Mars is the chart ruler.

Which brings us to water. Water is emotion. Big, intense emotion. And you have 2 planets in Scorpio. (Scorpio, my beloved!!) (My Taurus ass thirsting for every Scorpio I meet LOL.)

So: the chart ruler is Mars. Mars is the planet of action, drive, aggression, and sexuality. Mars is domicile in Scorpio. At least according to traditional rulership, which I generally prefer.

Mars is the planet of war. Aries is the fiery implication of this as the warrior, and the challenger, even the victor. In Scorpio, we see this more as the investigator, or the spymaster. A more subtle approach to war. Water is more reserved than fire, keeping everything close to the chest (while fire is out and proud, baby!)

So Mars is your drive, what pushes you to action. Water I often associate with fear, due to the emotionality lending to vulnerability. In Scorpio, I see this as offensiveness. Scorpio is skeptical, possessive, and vengeful. Can be clever, sarcastic, even manipulative. This is how Mars manifests, but what is really pushing Mars forward? What is Mars going to war for? Scorpio is secretive, sensitive, intense, passionate, obsessive, curious. More internal, and protective. So we sort of see this play out in a very Slytherin way. Resourcefulness, cleverness, self-preservation. And that's the big part of it, I think. Protecting the self, and what matters to it. Scorpio also has a draw to darkness, taboo, strangeness, transformation. So a drive to see more of human nature, and embrace more of its own darkness. An inclination towards all things dark and deep. Interested in mysteries. Crime. Driven to sate its curiosity, about the world, and about others. Part of it is the value of knowing the truth; truths about controversial and problematic subjects. But also using said knowledge to look out for itself. Resourcefulness; knowing all the ways in which things can be used. And Scorpio is a bit ruthless. Can be dangerous. Scorpio knows just where to cut, and you won't even see it coming.

That same energy colors your sun, your ego and core and sense of self. All that intrigue. Further fleshed out by other planets in Aquarius and Sagittarius. Humanitarianism + philosophy + taboo. + a cause. So it's knowing more about people and the world (Scorpio and Sagittarius) and the care for those people (Aquarius and Sagittarius) and the readiness to act on it (Scorpio and Aries.) Aquarius values uniqueness. Scorpio doesn't flinch from the darkness. Sagittarius is openminded. Even Libra...Libra values balance. And to have balance and harmony, you need those darker, murkier aspects of life. Dark balances light, after all.

Scorpio, in the end, is big time Slytherin, but also bits of Gryffindor with its martial drive.

So we see, in the end...

Ravenclaw: 2 big points (moon and Venus) and 1 minor point (Mercury.) Venus gets a boost for being domicile...but Mercury takes a small hit for being in fall. But Mercury was already the minor point, so it doesn't detract much.

Gryffindor: 2 major points (rising and Mercury) and 2 minor points (sun and Mars.) Except, Mercury is in fall. (But Mars is domicile.)

Slytherin: 2 major points (sun and Mars) plus one minor point (rising.) Mars is domicile.

Feels a bit fuzzy between Gryffindor and Slytherin, but if we isolate it to the Big 3 (which are of more importance) that evens it out even more. (Down to Scorpio and Aries, blast it.) But I'm more inclined to prioritize the sun over the ascendant. So...hesitantly I'd give the win to

SLYTHERIN!!!!

....but there's also a strong case for Gryffindor, not gonna lie.

So where is Hufflepuff?

So if I hazard a guess...with Aries rising, I can guess that more or less the houses are aligned with their associated sign. Or...well, there is no real link to the houses and signs, but a loose association wherein the First House has a connection to Aries all the way through the Twelfth House to Pisces. Which doesn't mean much, because if that's the case, the chances of any of your planets falling into an earth house (second, sixth, or tenth) are slim. But not impossible.

I do wonder if you have Jupiter or Saturn in an earth sign? Saturn is discipline, our sense of responsibility, our morals. So would indicate a value of earthy qualities, or being shaped by earthen qualities. Jupiter in an earth sign would indicate an abundance of an earthen quality, as Jupiter is excess and expansiveness. Then I would wonder if maybe your True Node is in an earth sign? True Node would be our fate, our life's purpose. But even a South Node in an earth sign would indicate what potential you begin life with (it's the knowledge you come to from a past life.) These are all things you can look at yourself and see if you spot earth in any of these places, and what it might mean if you do.

Another way to look at it is this: the lack of earth in your chart shows a bit of imbalance. Now, I don't think it's that bad since you're pretty balanced otherwise across the other three elements. And my chart is way more unbalanced than yours. (Hello, my predominance of fire and earth.) But that doesn't mean it's not there. And maybe by missing one element you feel its loss more?

So (fully guessing) if you don't have planets in earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) and you don't have planets in earth houses (second, sixth, tenth), then you might be pulled to fill that gap. In fact, even if you have one or two planets in earth signs and houses, that might not be enough to fill the gap on its own.

So there is a desire for completeness, which draws you to earthen qualities. Steadiness, structure, reliability, practicality.

Which I'll make this connection, which is based more on a vibe than fact, but...Aries ascendant means Libra is on the descendant. The descendent is what we look for in others.

Rising more egocentric. In Aries, this is a bit selfish, a bit raw, a bit rough around the edges. Which seeks to balance itself in Libra, which is more refined and polished and outward-focused. More peace and harmony over Aries' aggression and impulsivity. But Libra also values "balance", remember? And the descendent is finding balance in others. The descendent is closer to the seventh house, and is more about relationships, but also defines contracts.

Of the houses that represent relationships, the Seventh House specifies "marriage", "business partners", and "open enemies." This, to me, can relate to any defined, official relationship. The tie to documentation and contracts further solidifies this to me. So this sense of a real, named connection feels quite grounded (though this is an air house.) So it's seeking balance, but also connection in a way. It's outwardly focused. Finding what one needs in other places.

Which my whole point about that was to point out the Seventh House's ties to contracts, which is not a person. If we look at a contract as an object, or even an idea, it helps us move past that need of finding balance in specifically other people, to finding balance outside of the self.

This also has me speculating about 2 other things. Is your Venus conjunct the descendent? (Libra Venus + Libra Descendent.) And is your sun conjunct your Mars? (Both in Scorpio.)

Venus conjunct descendent implies a desire for acceptance from others, while being very self-critical and feeling disharmony within. (Because Venus conjunct descendent means Venus opposition ascendant, meaning discord between a sense of self and a connection to others.)

A sun + Mars conjunction would mean the self is tied to one's drive. Very assertive and independent. Very defined by your own drive and your causes.

So this is a lot of arrows pointing to actively seeking to add more earth energy to your life. This great sense of "something is missing" and "what can I do to fix this?" And by looking outside of the self, perhaps comingling with very earthy folks (such as Hufflepuffs) might do the trick. And with all that Slytherin ingenuity, I'm sure you can slither your way into the badger den...

We can also look to the link of elements, as I stated in the beginning. And how Slytherin might work well alongside Hufflepuff, as water works with earth. But that still would tell me a Slytherin surrounded by Hufflepuff friends. Or a Slytherin that talked its way into Hufflepuff.

Which leaves one last option.

If we go back to the original sorting, we see that you were pretty torn between 3 of the 4 houses. The Hat might be having a field day with you.

But we forgot one thing, didn't we? Hufflepuff "takes the rest." Hufflepuff is open and welcoming to all. Which often gives the vibe of taking in the leftovers (which: is that a bad thing, really?) But wouldn't it also maybe imply taking in the black sheep and the oddballs? You have so much to give, but it's all over the place, and failing to find the "right" choice between the other three, maybe the Hat would see value in putting you in Hufflepuff. And maybe the Hat would see how you might benefit from earth's structure.
