god i hate how the gerudo in totk are practically framed as though they constantly require hylian intervention to succeed… the way riju’s introduction stands out as the only one where she struggles to use her power until link comes along… the way link is chosen to decide how they should station the gerudo troops when fighting off the gibdos… the fact that one npc mentions how when zelda had visited she had somehow taught them new ways to fight in their own terrain, which should hopefully be obviously fucked up… the way the eighth heroine was revealed to have been a male hylian who came along and told the other gerudo heroines how to fight against their enemy… ugh ugh ugh

Just thought of a theory for Hazbin hotel, a way for Alastor to be redeemed

We know he made a deal with someone powerful, possibly Lilith, to gain power in hell and become an overlord.

So, I was thinking in the second season they would have to face this adversary, and during the scuffle the hotel wins and they free al from his contract, but in turn all the power he earned from said contract was stripped of him, and Alastor absolutely breaks. His entire world view has been shattered and for one second, he stops smiling.

Because now he's utterly powerless, believing no one at the hotel would want him there anymore, since the entire reason he even was there in the first place was to watch them suffer and occasionally protect the hotel, but he can't even do that now. He can't handle it and breaks down, but in good ol' Charlie fashion, she assures him that he's her friend and they won't abandon him. And maybe, just maybe, he shows his true smile. Not a huge one that takes up his entire face, just a gentle teary eyed smile as him and Charlie embrace.

I thought of Wisp for their name because of their wavy hair. But it can also mean about someone's baby hair.

So, I came up with that Wisp can't grow out their hair out like the others.

Then I thought of someone sad.

That they couldn't save their sibling because their hair couldn't stretch out far enough, and their sibling got eaten by the Bergens.

Thus, the name changed when they went to live with the Techno Trolls.

Leon Warner: Accent it. He put in some work to make his body look better, and whenever he's not wearing a jacket of some kind, he likes wearing shirts that make his arms look bigger.

Corey Stephens: Much like his sister, he's fine with whatever, but it leans more on the side of accenting his body type.

Thrawn and being ooc

Since name-dropping Heir To The Empire I fear that Thrawns portrayal will be very flat and ooc compared to almost all of Zahns books.

And it's definitely not a question about Legends/Canon characterization because the change to Thrawn as a very morally gray character started in the Legends:

In the original Thrawn-triology HTTE introduced Thrawn as rutheless war lord, but two books later (The Last Command) Thrawn shifts slighty towards well-meaning commander who inspires loyalty (a trait that became even more prominent in Thrawn (novel)) and started to teach other. The trend continued in the Hand Of Thrawn-Duology where Thrawns bigger motivations were revealed: He wanted to unite the Galaxy against a bigger threat from the unknown regions which is quiet a contrast to HTTE where he seemingly just wanted to reunite the Empire for its own sake.

Completed is this portrayal in Outbound Flight (basically the blueprint for Thrawn: Ascendancy) and it just got continued in the new canons books.

And here's the point why I think Disney made a pretty cheap move when they used just the HTTE characterization for SWR - because they could have known that the character had history far beyond the first triology. But I guess they just saw "oh, these books were bestsellers; just use them". Okay, valid point, they are the owner of the stuff after all.

But then why didn't they take precautions to keep the characterization concise? I mean they were in the position where they could have told Zahn he should write Thrawn more as a villain - for example the novel Tarkin had the same named a*hole as main character and he got not an ounce more sympathetic. Instead they greenlit another triology and now seemingly they double back down.

And that's just sloppy and makes me more than a bit salty - they lure me in with a complex character but decide to ignore everything as soon as they start a new series (also it's not only Thrawn - the Ahsoka novel and the Kanan-comics suffered from similiar problems, although in a lesser extent).

Laf Chapter 1 Update - posted May 1, 2023 Styg Demo - being rewritten Anti-Romance Jam Submission - currently writing

Hello!

A little bit overdue, but we all know I'm glacial slow. Thank you to everyone who played and left comments on LaFs update. I really appreciate the support and love<3

That said, I don't plan on working on LaF for the next while. I think I need to take a break from it and focus on other projects. It's not on hiatus or anything(for now), but it'll be taking a back seat.

I am currently focusing most of my free time on Stygian's rewrites. I had lost some of the game's files last year, which thankfully weren't any major scenes, but I did lose most of the game's UI code. Bummer, but it gives me a chance to completely redo it while I work on rewriting the prologue and first chapter. I have no real solid timeline for the demo's release, but it'll be my focus for this summer.

Also, I plan on submitting to lapinelunarie-games's Anti-Romance Game Jam. It's a mercifully short project; I anticipate a word count of <30k. It's plotted out and outlined, which leaves the bulk of writing, editing, and coding to be done. Most likely, it'll be released in parts in order to meet the game jam's deadline, but it will should be complete and free to play this summer.

Over my break, we hit 1500 followers, and I wanted to say thank you again! It really means a lot to be part of this community and meet so many wonderful, thoughtful, talented writers, readers, and creators.

So I have a friend who has the ability to steal everyone's luck for his incredibly lucky gacha pulls. Yesterday he got Acheron - the character that I struggled to get and lost the 50/50 to Yanqing. I got her nonetheless but it's still a big struggle.

Thanks to his ability to steal luck, he managed to make 2 other people I know (including the friend that got me into Slay the Spire) spill drinks (milk tea to be specific) on their pants. And then he got Acheron while barely even played the game.

At the same time my posts got no engagement whatsoever. I thought it's just my bad timing so I reblogged my post every once in a while, to no avail. But then I realized I also fell victim to his luck-stealing gimmicks.

This isn't the first time. Last time I did a 10-pull for him and he got Silver Wolf, and then even with the 50/50 guarantee I only got her in my account at very near hard pity (84/90). Also many more times that I am too lazy to tell.

the little detail that link’s hero’s clothes in wind waker are a bit warm for the weather is kind of funny when you consider that he most likely sticks with them going into phantom hourglass and i’ve seen people talk about link’s ww tunic being a bit too warm but it gets funnier when in link’s very next adventure you get linebeck, who lives in effectively the same climate but wears a fucking coat and scarf on top of everything else
