Max Verstappen is many things, and when people ask you to describe him they always have a lot to say. He’s a great driver, at the top of his career, he’s aggressive, he’s sarcastic, definitely has an unhealthy relationship with his skinny jeans. He’s also incredibly private, not much is known about him that he doesn’t want to be known, how he does it is a mystery.

You both value your privacy, and any post made of you before he made it to F1 was deleted the second there was a possibility he would join. You were both young, and you knew how much hate some wags get and you didn’t want that. While Max was off racing, you were back home finishing your studies, the moment you finished high school and you were both 18 you got married. A small wedding with only family and very close friends in attendance. Some of your families were against it at first, saying you’re too young, too naive but you never listened to them. Both you and Max knew what you wanted, and there was not stopping you from getting what you wanted.

You finished Uni and when Max moved to Monaco you did too, you met some of the drivers, the ones close to Max, you met some of the team that were also close to him. And you even attended a few races, but no one paid you any attention, thinking you’re just a fan.

However the last time you made it to a race was well over a year and a half ago, you gave birth to your baby boy last winter, and after a hard delivery and a long recovery, where Max stuck by your side through it all. Your boy is almost 2 and he misses Max every time he’s away from home.

”Are you sure this is the right time?” Max asked you as you got yourself ready, Karel happily playing with his toys next to Max on the bed.

“I mean we’ve been married for 8 years now, and dating for three before that.” You point out and finish the last touches to your make-up. “We have a son and I want him to grow up seeing you do what you love to do, I don’t know when you actually want to retire, so let him see you do it before it’s too late.”

You walk over to your husband and sit in front of him with a smile.

”You’re right.” Max leans over and presses a kiss to your lips, that leaves you craving for more, Max pulls back leaving you chasing after his lips. The dutch driver laughs and lets you close the gap, your lips meeting for a bit longer, before you have to pull back or things would escalate.

“Don't forget your ring.”

“Already wearing it.”

Walking in the paddock with your son on your hip and your hand in Max’s turned a few heads for sure. It was the tack of the paddock, Max has a girlfriend and a son? There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that the boy you’re holding is anyones’s but Max, he’s a literal mini Max, with the small red bull merch and everything.

”Oh my god! Loca.” Lando said seeing you both, your son wiggles in your arms. He loves Lando who he sees a lot when you’re all in Monaco. Lando is one of the few people who knew about you for so long and he’s seen Karel mere days after he was born. “Come to uncle, Lala.” Karel leans out of your arms and easily goes to Lando’s. “I didn’t know you guys were bringing him today.”

“We weren’t 100% sure.” Max explains and you give him a look. “Okay, I wasn't 100% sure I’d want to bring him.”

”Well, I’m for one glad that you did.” Lando said entertaining your son.

”That makes the two of us.” You say smiling, as Max pulls you closer to his side.

After Max is sure you and Karel are comfortable at RedBull, he goes off to do his round of interviews and media duties. And it's just his luck that, he's on the panel today.

And it didn't take long before he was being questioned about his family.

“Question to Max, you seem happier today, does that possibly have something to do with your ring and those that came with you today?” Max chuckles, he looks at his wedding ring. On the panel today with him, Charles who knows about his family, Lewis who has no idea, Oscar who has no idea and Pierre who has a suspicion but hasn't been confirmed by Charles.

“Eh, if you're talking about this ring, yes. My son is here for the first time, he's finally old enough to come.” Max is smiling but just because his family came means he's suddenly open with the press and will spill everything.

“You have a son?” Lewis asked confused the gossip hadn't reached Mercedes yet.

“I'm not over the ring, you're married?” Pierre asked, Oscar was looking super confused at the RedBull driver, he heard Lando talking about Max and a child and wife but he thought it was the other Max not this Max.

“Karel's here?” Charles asked, smiling.

“Yeah, I have a son, he's almost 2 and I'm married.” Max said as if he didn't Just drop the biggest news in F1 at the moment.

“You knew about it?” Pierre asked his friend feeling left out, Charles looked cheapish and shrugged.

“It was a secret mate.”

After the panel the drivers waited for Max to ask him some more questions.

“When were you married?”

“Did you get married because of the kid?”

“What's his name?”

“Why did you hide them?”

”When can we see him?”

and so on and so forth, Max knew that this would cause quite a stir in the media but he had no idea the other drivers would be interested.

”Okay calm down everyone, let the man speak.” Lando, the latest person to join the circle said. He wrapped his arm around Max’s shoulder. ”Let me answer the oblivious stuff. His name’s Karel, he was born during the winter break of last year, he’s a carbon copy of Max, and yeah, I knew about everything for a few years.”

Lando looked so smug with himself for being in the know.

”And you’re married? Never saw you wearing a ring before.”

“Yeah, got married when we were 18-“

”EIGHTEEN!!” There was a gasps and repetition to the number 18.

”Mate, that’s over 8 years ago.” Pierre said with wide eyes, he’s been Max’s teammate and he was married and he had no idea.

”Yeah, we were dating for 3 years before that, and decided to just do it.” Max explains, he was itching to get back to the garage and see his family. But he had to stand there for a few more minutes to answer all their questions, which he was comfortable with anyways.

You could see a few of the drivers shaking their heads as they dispersed from the circle in disbelief. The gossip and new information was hot, it will be all they can talk about this weekend.

You were out of his driver’s room, and standing beside Max’s car talking with a mechanic as Karel was looking at his dad’s car in fascination. It’s the car he saw every week on the TV.

“Hey.” Max greeted coming in and giving you a quick kiss, he took Karel from your arms and kisses his cheek. “How’s everything?”

”Good, Karel wants to get in the car.” You inform your husband, smiling as your son nodded his head furiously.

”Dada, car.” Karel says cutely and points at his father’s car.

”You can sit baby, don’t think you’ll see anything but you can sit.” Max says and places his child into the cockpit, RedBull cameras snap pictures and take videos.

”Future RedBull champion in the making.” You tease Max and grin, Max had this adoration look on his face. “You should get in and put him on your legs so he can see.”

Max does as you say, he hands you Karel, who you shower with kisses making him giggle and push your face away. Max gets in and you hand him Karel who he places on his lap, the child now able to see out of the car.

”Here Max.” One of the mechanics hand him the steering wheel, and Max puts it in.

”Dada, drive.” Karel says and takes a hold of the steering wheel, Max helps him turn it right and left, it’s. too heavy for him to do it alone. You take out your phone and also film this moment.

If there was ever doubt about bringing Karel, just seeing them making memories and enjoying themselves proves that it’s the right thing to do. There’s no guarantee for how long Max will stay in F1, the motorsport is forever changing and you’ve always wanted Max to make these memories with your son. And if Karel continued showing interest in cars as he does now, there’s no doubt in your mind that you’ll be back at karting tracks soon enough, and replete the cycle that you went through with Max with your son.

Max looks at you and smiles, you couldn’t help but lean over and press your lips to his, in a sweet and short kiss.

”It’s good that I can kiss you whenever now.” You comment and wink at Max before you pull back.

“Lucky me.”

Synastry observations based on (personal) experience, part 5:

I’m back!!!! After months lmao

Moon opposite mars: a big ‘want’. Moon opposite mars is a story. It’s every romance movie/ romcom aspect, and i’ll tell you why. These people see in each other the potential of moon conjunct mars fullfillment that’s actually (way, but opinions differ ofc) better than the conjunction. That’s because in the opposition, each has something the other lacks. This can create for both people the ultimate romantic fullfilment when brought together by effort and acceptance of each other, and this promise is very hard to let go of. Typically, these are couples that fight a lot but find it very hard to let each other go once they know what they can have with each other, because it really is the best. Just think about it, even the thought of people putting conscious effort to be sweeter to one another is precious. That only creates a bond that’s very raw and very real (quoting jewelastrology here). Then combine that with the power of the mars and the moon and the friction of the opposition, keeping things interesting and keeping both parties learning more. You shouldn’t romanticise struggle in a relationship. Too much ‘work’ can just mean you aren’t compatible. THIS aspect is an exception. Just watch out for possible aggression. That’s never okay. One day I’ll make a seperate post about the amount of moon opposite mars couples in literature. The best I can think of now is Pride and Prejudice, with Mr Darcy being mars and Elizabeth Bennet being moon.

Venus twelfth house overlay: sorry y’all, in my personal experience, it’s true what they say. The twelfth house person has a hard time feeling this overlay on their side, or on a very subconscious level. I was the 12th house person. On one hand, I really ‘got it’ so to say but on the other hand, I don’t have a shitty clue of how he picked up on this ‘thing between us’ he thought or picked up on we had. That’s actually the big thing about this overlay. Don’t lose all hope, but you’ll have one person going “you knoww like there’s this thing between us...” and the 12th house person will be going: “what thing?” 😂 this can actually be nice because the 12th house person will get in touch with that subconscious twelfth housey part of themselves IF there are other nicely supporting aspects. Like the venus person’s venus to other stuff. They say a true connection is always mutual. I want to say to you all that don’t be surprised when a 12th house person in such an overlay is not ‘feeling’ this mutually. I literally wrote in my diary: “i might actually like him when it’s too late. Or just never lol i do not know.”

Update: I wrote this observation months ago in like april. It is now october and I’m starting to gain interest in him, albeit slowly and subconsciously, but, yeah 🤦‍♀️😂 i came back to this draft being like “WHATT?? Astrology had predicted this TOO for me???”

Moon trine pluto: you know when the fighting super intense troubled couple FINALLY gets together in this really intense and satisfying time when things are finally going the way they’re planned? Like an end all all good? That is this overlay, but constantly. On the outside, it’s the annoyingly passionate/emotional couple in a series that you don’t get because you haven’t seen them do any work to deserve this kind of intense fan-service scene. It’s because it lacked that kind of character development? It was me watching avengers infinity war with vision and wanda. I didn’t like the couple because i didn’t get it. I didn’t know their history i thought it was just some random very bland peaceful couple being very dramatic about each other all the time. Another example (i’m not shitting on this aspect i swear 😂) when a cartoon shows an example of a ‘romantic movie scene’ where the couple says “i loove you!!” And the other goes “oh bill!!” You don’t swoon because you’re like… okay. You get the oogies/ick because it’s like ‘ew that’s a couple’ anyways what I’m trying to say is that moon and pluto are not typical besties they’re supposed to be two problems kind of, they’re two very intense and bare planets, so harmonious flowing energy between them will feel kind of unsettling? Even. So these people will be kind of ‘gross’ with each other but in a soothing way. It’s how you imagine such a trine to be, but it plays out exactly like this irl too lmao! It feels bland on the outside because it’s always going well. And on the inside it plays in the background, because issues bring moon and pluto stuff to the foreground as a ‘theme’ in the relationship. So this aspect is also is the simple idea-of-a-passionate relationship. It’s the groaning “I’ll never let you go!!” Which doesn’t hit the same way for some people because there isn’t any drama or shit that happened before to deserve this pay off. However, some people loooove this aspect and by that I mean people in real life who like to have a secure and deep relationship where two hidden parts of people correspond and love each other well. This aspect is reaallly hard to let go of lol.

Sun conjunct mars: I call this the ‘spicy friends’ aspect. This is the aspect of two people who get into shenanigans together. I also see this aspect a lot with romantic couples who got together young, because it makes for boy-girl relations where the boy actually gets motivated by the person the girl is and the girl feels understood on the same level by the boy. They don’t get bored and so these people will forever get on or be aggravated by each other. It’s because these are two extremely conscious ‘in the moment’ planets so they easily fire off each other and it doesn’t take a lot of energy to have that interaction. Not in the plutonically karmic way, but in a personal way I currently cannot describe. No in between. It creates a bond that people can’t really get in between. You just have to let them stay friends/buds until they get sick of each other, and they may even repeat the process after that. Either way, this is an aspect that makes people get together fast ! Their conscious behaviour is accelerated by each other.

Sun conjunct venus: unlike mars, venus is a cold planet, which is totally okay in a synastry, only the interaction plays out a little different. Sun and venus don’t fire off each other. Their influence on each other is more passive and more ‘mental’. The sun, how basic it may sound, warms venus or even makes them burn. Venus gives the sun person chills. The venus person is responsible for the harmony and awesome functionality that this aspect brings. They will take a step back to fully adore and admire sun from afar sometimes. The sun will run to venus basically when it needs love and beauty and also a kind of sensibility that the sun person misses, like a puzzle piece. Sun brings heat and passion that the venus craves. These people will often crave for how the other person makes them feel. Venus typically loves every little thing the sun person does and the sun person is just taken by the venus person every single day. Think Oliver (venus) and Loretta (sun) from Only Murders In The Building. This aspect makes for real contentment in a relationship.

Mars in twelfth house synastry or composite: with this placement, you’re not even sure if the person is actually even attracted to you and if you’re making it all up in your head. This is also typically seen as a ‘synastry/composite of secrets’ which I wasn’t so sure about at the time I experienced this one myself, but now I realise, hey, that man actually had a girlfriend while he was giving me ‘special attention’ while holding back, with me being like ‘what could he mean what could he MEAN’ typical mars in twelfth scenario. One guy I had this with in composite was basically lying to me about his sex life and not having cheated on his previous girlfriend… and guess what… I had lied about my sexual history too 😭 I even thought to myself ‘why the f*ck did I lie that elaborately??? I didn’t even have to??’ But whatever, it’s the way of the worlds apparently 😂 but you see how this immediately creates distrust when it is not actually what we mean to do or coming from a place of disrespect. Oh and this aspect in composite also created months of us being like ‘🧍🏻‍♀️….🧍🏻‍♂️’ not normal sexual tension, but sexual tension we weren’t sure should be concreticised out loud or in action. We’d only kissed once Monthsss before which is basically nothing in western european student culture. It was like: “does this person know I’m still, in this moment, attracted to/like him/her? Am I making this all up in my head?”

Moon in the 8th house: a lot has been said about this aspect. Just a few things: intensity, yes. Either one will always be a significant person for the rest the person’s lives. It’s not nothing. It’s the basis of real all consuming love that’s a very rare and unique mix between total safety and total rush-like danger, which makes people think it’s a soulmate aspect. It’s actually not, imo, it’s a deeply (deeeeply) karmic aspect. It’s funny to see all the friends with benefits who have this aspect start out as “lol we don’t want a relationship” to “……. Lol nevermind” and end up together. They go back to each other because they’re simply too significant to each other. Fear of being vulnurable is also big on both so they either take that step or they’re just standing there forever. Mutual aspect, but it’s mutual in different ways. Truthfully, I don’t see this aspect so often in relationship charts. I see it with people who are in love with each other and aren’t together, or people who started out casual but still for some reason can’t let each other go after more than a year, or people who have had the roughest most obsessive breakup in history and ask me for advice. Often, people in relationships who have this aspect don’t come to astrologers for advice. They’re too ‘into’ one another to do that, I feel like.

Venus trine moon: cute cute cUTE because the venus loves reassuring the moon person with affection, which makes the moon person feel so safe and endorphined and warm. The moon person simply inspires that in venus! Great for a chart with more difficult aspects !

Moon conjunct jupiter: so if a guy is jupiter and the moon is a woman and they’re married, the woman doesn’t need to worry about jupiter feeling turned off from the relationship by her pregnancy. Moon is the feminine, the nurturer, the mother, jupiter adores and respects her. Jupiter inspires respect, optimism, friendships and all things serotonin. Jupiter will make the moon feel good. The kind of union where the guy will constantly declare how much he lovees her pregnancy glow ✨ the same goes ofc for lesbian relationships but since this is a cultural phenomenon i thought i might touch on it.

Moon opposite jupiter: i feel like this might be the opposite story :/ the girls motherhood and need for support and needs in general will just be the opposite to what the jupiter person finds ‘fun’ and joyful, BUT if they’ve made it this far in the relationship as to have a child together it should be okay. At least the cause of the behaviour would moreso be astrology, not misogyny.

Also: jupiter has such an underrated influence on us in astrology!! Jupiter radiates the most energy out of all the planets in our solar system and may be way more personal and influential than we think in astrology… And in synastry also it’s the MOON

His unique ability to empathize with the killers he pursues consumes him, leading him to delve deep into their minds to understand their motives and methods. Will has his night terrors constantly and every time he has them he will come to you for comfort. Even though he's not the biggest fan of being social, you keep him calm, the warmth of your hug and the kind words you whisper to him make him even more dependent on you.

He is desperate for your love and your constant acceptance. He wants your affection and love above all else and is willing to play dirty to get it. Will is an excellent manipulator and he will know how to use your feelings against yourself, and make you feel bad.

You're not going to leave him, are you? Can't you see how much he needs you? How desperate is he for you? Will is going to hurt you for even thinking about leaving him. You're so bad for this and Will will have to fix that. You won't leave him, not alive, at least.

Will is a born manipulator, albeit a subtle one. He will know how to make the situation favorable for him and will make you trust him, using both his empathy and manipulations to get what he wants. You will be his no matter what.

If Will sees no other alternative, he will probably kidnap you. It's not what he wants, since he wants a normal relationship with you but if he's too unstable or feels for even a moment that you won't reciprocate what he feels, Will will kidnap you. He will feel bad about it but he won't let you go. Not until he's sure you won't leave him.

Will is extremely possessive and jealous of you. A lot of this jealousy comes from the fact that he doesn't think he's good enough for you, that you deserve someone better than him but he's selfish and won't let you go. You are his and he will not be subtle when he is jealous, which happens very often.

He will be bitter and sarcastic towards anyone who made him jealous and will try to make it clear that you are his. Hands on your waist and a hard look usually do the trick. But if it doesn't work, Will will be more aggressive and will use threats and in more extreme cases, violence, which can end with a bruised and bloody corpse. He would deal with the consequences after comforting you for seeing such a violent scene.

Will is as protective as he is possessive. He loses his mind at the thought of you being hurt, or worse, dead. Any injury inflicted on you will not be treated lightly and Will will demand to know who it was that hurt you. He hates knowing that someone hurt you and he will get rid of them sooner or later. He is not a killer, not at first, but for you he will become one. If for some reason you died, Will wouldn't be able to bear it and would waste away until death claimed him. He can't live without you.

Only a very small number of people will be allowed to Interact with you and only after Will is sure they are not a potential threat. He can't risk you being taken from him and he won't. Anyone who tries won't live long to tell the tale.

Will is going to try to make you happy because he can't stand the idea of seeing you sad, especially if it's his fault. He will take you for a walk with the dogs who, by the way, will become attached to you in the same way as their owner. Although he's not rich, Will won't mind spending money to spoil you a little. Everything to make you happy.

To Will Graham, you are more than just an object of his desire. You are his redemption and his ruin, his salvation and his perdition. He is willing to face any challenge, even turning into a monster, to keep you by his side. He's already unstable, you were just the final straw for his darkest thoughts to fill his mind. And only God knows what he thinks about you.

LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO

He loved being interviewed by you, he would spend the time admiring you, there was no complaint to it. Logan had eyes of innocence and gentle admiration.

"How are you feeling after today?" You asked, microphone in hand.

Logan looked at you, and his eyes looked at your lips and back at your eyes.

He smiled sheepishly, to engrossed in your looks and smile.

“Not feeling very talkative?” You ask with a smile, “Well- you had the best result you’ve had in your career so far, P5!”

“What do you think contributed to that?” You ask with a smile, a twinkle in your eye as you know your boyfriend feels great about it.

Logan laughed a bit. "Oh, I-uh-" he mumbled, looking away sheepishly again as he tried to find the correct words.

It was clear he was distracted by something other than the track, and even other than the results.

After a moment, he finally gave a solid response to your question.

"I think it was just, you know, all of the team working together to make it happen. Along with the build up of the weekend”

“We have some pretty good upgrades this season from the 2023 one..” He adds on, glancing from the camera to you.

“Of course, James seems to be making great moves with Williams..” You say with a smile, knowing you have set questions to ask.

“How do you plan on bringing this momentum to Miami your home race?” You ask Logan, admiring his blue eyes for a moment.

Logan looked down at his feet for a moment, clearly not wanting to make a mistake in his next sentences. After a moment, he gave a quick, thoughtful stare into the distance before he responded.

"I think I'm gonna have to focus a lot on being aggressive this weekend. It'd be great to do well at my home track. There'll be a lot of family and friends there, along with my brother..”

“Just gonna push, and hopefully take advantage of whatever opportunity we have with the pace of this season.”

“Right- well I’m sure you’ll do great! It certainly helps Alex got P6 right behind you..” You say, “Just one last question Logan…”

“How have you changed your racing style from last year in 2023?”, You ask, knowing he’ll hate that question since his rookie season was rough. You give him an apologetic look, hating that you had to ask that question.

Logan gave a brief smile as he remembered Alex finishing behind him. It was nice to be able to see his teammate make progress too.

Then, he turned his attention back to you as you asked him the last question, and it was clear the smile soon disappeared. The topic was something that still was a sore spot for him, and he wasn't exactly looking forward to addressing it.

With a heavy sigh, he took a quick deep breath and prepared himself to answer the hard question. “I’ve definitely gotten more aggressive with my driving style and been more careful with certain moves- added with a good bit of sim work” He says with a faint smile.

“Well you’ve shown great pace so far!” You say with a smile, “Maybe a Williams redemption?” You say teasingly with a grin.

The words 'Williams redemption' made Logan laugh slightly, and his smile seemed to regain a bit more genuine energy. He looked back over at you and responded.

"We can always hope" He started, grinning a little more. "With our upgrades we have, and the way things have been going, I think we have a good chance of making a big jump up the grid. I hope, anyway."

“Well I wish you guys the best of luck- I’ve always been a fan of Williams..” You say with a smile, “Thank you for your time Logan! Good luck in Miami, hopefully I’ll see you then” You add on finishing up the interview with him.

"Thank you, it was a pleasure" Logan smiled as you finished up the interview and he walked off. It was always nice when he got you as an interviewer, it made the stress easier to manage.

He didn't exactly mind the questions either, he just didn't want to talk about last year too much.

He glanced your way again and smiled, waving at you as he walked away to do more press. You see him quickly pull out his phone and text someone.

You feel your phone buzz in your pocket, showing a notification from Logan. “Meet at my drivers room in twenty?” The text reads.

“Of course see you then 💙”

“🫶”

You pass up the time by finishing up some other interviews you needed to do before you manage to sneak off to Logan’s drivers room, managing to not be caught.

It had been like this for a year, sneaking around and keeping your relationship under wraps, many had fans and media sites speculated things, but there was no solid evidence, by some miracle.

You knock on his drivers door, it quickly opens up and Logan grabs your hand and pulls you in, trapping your body between his and the door.

You grin as he pulls you inside and traps you up agains the door, his breath and his body pressed up next to you.

"I missed you" He whispers, taking you in his arms and leaning down, his lips just inches from yours. “I missed you too..” You say, wrapping your arms around his neck.

Logan pulls you even closer, so your arms wrap around his neck and he covers your mouth with his. He kisses you deeply, and you can feel the tension and built up stress from the evening slowly dissipate between the two of you. It was amazing to finally be alone and to be able to spend some time with him away from the cameras.

He moves you two so you’re seated on the makeshift bed in his drivers room and he’s in between your legs as you two kiss. Your fingers tangle in his hair, pulling at the blonde strands.

Your legs wrap around his waist and pulling him further into you, your lips were desperate for his, and Logan eagerly reciprocated. Your hands run over his back, caressing him and feeling his form.

It felt like there was not a care in the world in that driver’s room, and your troubles seemed to fade, but only for a moment.

The door to his room flys open, you and Logan quickly pull apart, but by the looks of your disheveled hair, flushed faces and pink lips, it was obvious what happened.

“Hey Log- oh my god” You hear Alex gasp out, “I knew it!” Alex says, closing the door quickly and moving into the room. “You-“ He says pointing at Alex, “always got giddy and nervous around her, and would always smile”

“Then you-“ He says pointing to you, “would always smile and look up at him with love!” He says smugly, having figured it out. “James owes me twenty bucks now!” He says with a grin, having made a bet with the team principal.

“Wait- you made a bet with James?!” Logan asks, “Yeah I bet you two were dating and he bet that it was just a high school crush thing” Alex says.

“You can’t tell anyone Alex!” You say, a small smile on your face at the situation. “What about Lily?” Alex asks, after all if he found out something, his girlfriend does need to know.

You let out a sigh, “You can tell Lily…”

Alex grins as you let him tell Lily what's happened. "But James will want to know exactly when you started dating” He says looking up from his phone, you assume he’s starting to text James, “Im sure he’ll wants to know all the details. And when you two are going to make it official and public and everything" Alex says.

Suddenly Logan realizes Alex is starting to text James, “Hey- you don’t need to tell James all of this!”

“He’s our team principal not our dad!” He groans out, trying to grab Alex’s phone from his hands. Alex laughs softly, pulling the phone away from Logan as he continues texting. “Hey hey hey- you don't get to tell me what to say and not say! I made a deal and I’m getting every single detail possible” Alex laughs again, moving his phone out of Logan's reach.

“We’ve been together for a year and we met back in F2 when I interviewed him after a race..” You say with a smile, laughing as Logan pouts. “We’re not sure when we want to go public though…” You add on.

Alex's facial expression shifts to one of excitement and amazement. “Woah- and all of this has been a secret?” He says with a grin spreading across his face. “And wait, you’ve known each other for years?!”

Alex laughs, clearly in disbelief and in disbelief of how well you two have kept this secret. “Wait, let me sendJames another this text real quick” He pulls his phone down, texting something to James, before holding the phone up for you and Logan to look at.

You and Logan both look over at Alex’s phone, reading the text that he sent.

James I won the bet. They’ve been together for a year and knew each other since F2, I’m getting all the details now, I’ll tell you later once I figure it all out.

Logan rolls his eyes and groans as he realizes what’s being sent. As for you, you feel a rush of nervous excitement, hoping that James’ reply will be supportive.

Alex, I caught them kissing one time but didn’t have the heart to tell them. Let them know I’m very happy for them and will love to discuss more of it with Logan. 🤗

You feel your face grow warm after finding out he spotted you two making out. “I guess you don’t get twenty dollars after all mate!” Logan says with a chuckle, elbowing Alex.

“You’ve got to be kidding me…” Alex groans out, shoulders slumping. “I really wanted that money..”

Logan laughs again, and then looks over at you. He seems pleased that James is supportive of your relationship. He wraps his arm around you, pulling you close into his side.

"Well, it's a good thing he’s supportive and didn’t tell us off!” He says laughing still.

“He’s probably just happy you aren’t lonely anymore..” Alex grumbles out still salty as he texts Lily “his discoveries”.

Alex's grumbling makes Logan and you chuckle, the two of you just can't help but laugh at the situation.

"Maybe there'll be another bet somewhere down the road!" Logan says with a smile as he kisses your cheek. "And yeah- I think you're right, I mean he did mention that I'm in a more cheerful mood around the track this year”

“Yeah whatever- Lily says we all need to plan a double date!” Alex says, pushing aside what Logan said to focus on his girlfriend.

You and Logan give each other a knowing look, smiles on your faces. “That sounds great” You say with a smile, leaning into Logan, happy that Alex, James and Lily know, but a bit sad you and Logan won’t have as much privacy anymore, but maybe it’s for the best.

RGU and the Transfeminine, Part 1

Why Miki Kaoru is an Egg

When I’d first watched through Revolutionary Girl Utena, Miki Kaoru was initially one of the characters I had the hardest time figuring out. Unlike the other poisoned sibling relationships in the show, Miki and Kozue’s didn’t really make much sense to me. I couldn’t decide how I felt about the character, whether he was “better” somehow than Touga, Saionji, or Akio, or if he was “just as bad”. And of course. What the hell is with that damn stopwatch dude??* Looking at fan writings afterward just deepened the confusion. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on what’s going on with Miki. It’s only after much re-watching, and introspection, that I think I’ve figured out why I’m so conflicted about the character. I’d like to share why- and hopefully along the way I can at least show that Miki is more interesting than many give him credit for. Click the readmore if you please!

(And, to be clear, what is written below is a reading, a blend of evidence from the text, from the subtext, and my own personal experience. I do not claim to be the first to interpret the character this way nor do I claim that this is the definitive read of the character. Nonetheless, I hope I can make my case to you!)

While I’m not the first to notice, I think it’s frequently overlooked just how similar Utena and Miki are in the first arc. It’s definitely something that flies over the heads of many first-time viewers. But Miki and Utena, are extremely alike! Of course, they are both motivated by an unattainable image of the past, and Miki’s early episodes codify the “sunlit garden” into the RGU symbolic environment. But it’s more than just this. Utena and Miki both treat Anthy in basically the same way. Utena has an easy time convincing Miki that the dueling game is objectifying nonsense. That the principled thing is to leave the whole exercise behind and treat Anthy like a person. It isn’t very hard for Miki to convince Utena to duel him for her hand either. They both view themselves as her personal protector, and (while maybe at different times), both project their imagination of what she must be thinking onto her. Utena does a bit more than Miki to try and figure Anthy out, but it doesn’t take much for her to get swept up in her own image of prince. In both their minds, Anthy needs them to save her. And, when Anthy looks them in the eyes, and tells them. I’m not yours. It destroys them. Freezes them in their tracks, breaks their hearts. Screaming, its a lie, you can’t mean that! Of course they get along so well! They see themselves in one another, plain as day. Little rival princelings, seeking the affections of the same princess, but always with chivalry and good intention.

But I think there is more to it than that! Miki and Utena (and later Nanami) are some of the youngest duelists (at least, without a black rose anyway). And, they have fairly similar relationships to the other members of the student council. Juri acts as an older friend, mentor, and source of advice for both of them. Its not unlikely that she sees her younger self in the two of them, and while she does very directly take this out on Utena, its her sword that Utena takes to her second duel with Touga. Indeed, Touga manipulates Miki and Utena in unsubtle and sexually aggressive ways, as compared to how he might treat Saionji or Juri. And for both, its their relationship to gender that he directly attacks. He attempts to break Utena’s spirit by turning her “back into a normal girl”, and for Miki he seems to challenge his masculinity. And while this may seem as though the two of them are being shoved in opposite directions, in both cases, Touga hits them in the same place. “You’re a prince then? I don’t think so. Unless you prove it”. Touga isn’t the only one to question Miki’s ability or status. Utena and Juri both tell Miki. You are much more suited to playing piano than dueling. The main difference here is that they tell him this with genuine compassion, but the implication is the same. You aren’t suited to this prince thing. Give it up.

I don’t think it’s just the audience who is conflicted slotting in Miki with the other “men”.

Much ink has been spilled on Miki and Kozue’s relationship, but I do think there is one thing consistent across readings. There is a power struggle going on between them, and they’ve both got something to hold over the others head. Personally, I don’t believe there is any attraction between them. Rather, What’s Going On With Those Two is their mismatch in understanding their sexuality and the RGU concept of “Reality”, and the friction that creates in their image of themselves and one another. That reading may go as follows. Miki sees Kozue as acting dangerously and immorally. In his mind, she is his responsibility, to keep out of trouble at the very least. Perhaps he sees himself as needing to step in for their absent parents. So he sees himself as the mature and grounded one, a father figure needing to keep the both of them on the straight and narrow. Kozue on the other hand, sees Miki as being essentially blind to Reality (with a capital R). She believes he doesn’t have a good grasp of what sex is, or what adult relationships look like. She may believe that she understands what happened with their parents much better than Miki, and clearly sees that her brother is in danger with his creepy music teacher. So she sees herself as the mature and grounded one, needing to protect her brother both by warding off people who would take advantage of him and by getting him to grow up and see things as they Really are. Without their parents, they feel the need to take care of one another and control how the other approaches their sexuality. But in the end, it does seem that Kozue is the one who is better able to manipulate Miki’s behavior, helping Akio convince him to duel a second time. That Miki needs to grow up and accept what he wants. He sees a vision of Anthy, and he’s driving the akiomobile. And, with fearful realization, he discovers the identity of End of the World.

So then. Why should Miki be so hung up about his sexuality? It clearly makes him very uncomfortable. And why does he compare the sister he had in the past onto the one he has in the present? What’s so special about that sunlit garden, anyway? What is Miki Kaoru’s shining thing?

Let me spin a yarn, if you'll indulge me-

As far as Miki remembers it, when he was little things were perfect. His parents were still there, and he and his twin sister were thick as thieves. They would play piano together, and drink milkshakes. Things were simple and happy as far as he’s concerned, and while his childhood was not nearly as rosy as he remembers, it was certainly better than whatever he has to deal with now. Now his parents are gone for reasons he doesn’t quite understand, and his sister has drifted away from him and acts promiscuously. His body is starting to change, and it fills him with disgust. Worse still, he finds himself envying his sister for some reason. It all floods him with shame. He needs to fight those feeling with everything he has. Being very clever for his age, he finds himself the youngest member of the student council. He becomes involved with the dueling game as it is revealed to him, and goes along with it, not wanting to act out of place. He gets a crush on Anthy, and is unable to figure out what the hell he should do about it. Later, he meets Utena, and the two become fast friends. And how lucky, his new friend is roommates with his crush! She’s just so perfect. She’s kind, and quiet, and chaste, not at all like his sister. He feels a kinship with her. And in an act of cosmic fate- she plays for him his favorite childhood arrangement. It’s just as Touga says. He can’t let the world get to her, the way its getting to his sister. The way its getting to him. He needs to make sure that Anthy, and his memories, are safe. But alas- it seems she doesn’t feel the same way. She’d rather be with Utena. Hopefully, Utena can protect her where he cannot. Miki and Utena go back to being friends, and he nurses his hurt feelings privately. It wouldn't do to make a scene about it, and besides, it wasn’t appropriate for him to think of her like that anyway. Thinking about anyone like that. He can’t help but feel disgusted with himself for allowing it. Later, his relationship with his sister continues to deteriorate, and his father is remarrying. But he can stick by his principles, and stay out of it all, the dueling especially. Kozue, Touga, and Akio have other plans. He is confronted with Reality, and it terrifies him. He sees himself in the drivers seat, Anthy his. This is what he is now, no point in trying to hide from it. He challenges Utena again, taking an early advantage utilizing his new resolve and Utena’s confusion. But that resolves breaks quickly. What is Kozue doing with Anthy?

Pay attention, or you’ll lose.

Miki is disgusted with himself, his role, because he does not want it. He hates what’s happening to himself and his family. He admires Utena and Juri, for embodying his ideal self. He listens to Touga, puts up with his music teacher, even if they make him feel gross and uncomfortable, because he feels he has to and that he doesn’t have a choice. He idolizes Anthy, so much. He is attracted to her, but maybe there is something more. Maybe, Miki wishes he could be her. Miki, in my mind, is a closeted trans lesbian going through puberty as a boy. I think that part of this might be projection, perhaps. But I hope that I might have made my case using the text of the show. But even if you disagree, I hope that you might have a better appreciation for his character. I think he’s fairly consistently people’s least favorite council member as a character, but honestly he’s my favorite and I think there’s a lot more too him than a lot of people give him credit for.

… this all being said. I think it’s interesting that Miki thinks Anthy is the picture of femininity right? That this is what he wants.

In the end, all girls are like the rose bride.

Please wait patiently while I make the case, that while Miki is an egg. Anthy has long since hatched...

(And I do mean be patient! This subject, and the concept that Ohtori represents a transmisogynystic institution at its very core, is WAY more personal than this headcanon, and also is much more of a difficult thing to write for dozens of reasons. I'm still not 100% sure it would even be right of me to post my thoughts on that publicly. But if enough people are interested, maybe that would motivate me to write it!)

*What’s a good Miki essay without some sort of Stopwatch Theory tm? Well (and I freely admit much of this is probably projection, but it’s not just me projecting! It’s also my girlfriend!!), Miki seems to get very wrapped up in his own thoughts. He is very self conscious, takes the criticisms of others very seriously, and also seems to get ideas about How Things Are Going To Happen in his head. He desperately tries to make sense of his surroundings, and finds himself consistently failing to do that. So my guess is the stopwatch is a way for him to regulate and calibrate his thoughts and hypotheses and self image. He picked it up in his duty as council secretary, but its something he feels is significant outside of that. Aha moment? Click. Unexpected end to a council meeting? Click. Something go completely as expected? Click. It helps him process I think. That is my formal Stopwatch Hypothesis tm.

miscellaneous fellow honest headcanons

These aren't following any prompt in particular, these are just thoughts I had when I saw the guy hammin' it up and then turning on us.

Some of these headcanons are informed by fan art I've seen and discussions I've had with friends, while others are purely me.

Curiouser and Curiouser...

He calls people “little lads” and “little ladies”.

Fellow has a very noticeable laugh. Like, he grunts and snorts and has tears rolling down his cheeks. (He tends to laugh at others’ misery, thinking of it as “retribution” or “payback” for the injustices he has suffered himself.)

Bro shaves using a knife (yes, he shaves because he is a grown ass man) because razors are hella expensive.

He uses that cheap cologne and cakes it on THICK. This, in his mind, gives off the impression that he’s a well-off and put-together individual you should tooootally trust.

Also the type of person that lays it on thick with his words. If he’s trying to impress a date or something, he’ll shower them with so many compliments it almost seems fake. But no, he’s just the type to simp hard when he happens to be genuine 💀 most of the time he’s faking it though—

He’s very street smart, but in a way where he confuses hostile people by talking over them and acting overly friendly. They usually stuns them long enough for him and Gidel to skedaddle.

If he gets dumped, he'd be the pathetic whimpering boyfriend that begs for his ex to take him back. When they inevitably don't, he mopes all day about it.

He chain smokes and aggressively drinks as a coping mechanism on his bad days 😔 and sometimes he gambles (like, on those scratch-off cards) hoping that he'll strike it rich and buy him and Gidel a better life...

Basically, he generally does not have his shit together but tries his best to pass like someone who does (and usually succeeds at it).

Fellow appears in public wearing his full suit, but at home (ie whatever ratty temporary housing their boss found for them before they move on to the next place) he just wears a T-shirt and lounges around in boxers (and sometimes socks with holes in them).

He uses those disposable eyeshadow wands that snap in half at the slightest bit of too much pressure. Fellow acts like the Claire’s kid makeup he uses is the luxury stuff, but Vil can tell the pigmentation isn’t all there and there’s MAD fallout.

He may be broke AF and have his moments of emotional spiraling, but he has pretty decent budgeting skills. Fellow lives for sales and does extreme couponing to stretch their money as far as it will go.

He invests in other cost-saving methods like wearing shoes until the sole is literally flopping off and just adding water to residual soap in a pump bottle to make the soap "last longer".

Fellow is really good at cutting food (bread, beans) thin to conserve it. Yes, this is a reference to an old Mickey Mouse cartoon—

When he was younger, he had dreams of being an actor (and, more specifically, starring in musicals). That's why he's often humming, swinging around his cane, and/or whistling as he's on the prowl for idiots to sucker—they're remainders of his thespian days before his dreams were crushed into itty bitty pieces.

Man looks like he'd be great at tap dancing.

Before his current gig, he tried a bunch of other scams including a MLM at one point to get by. His signature spell came in pretty clutch in those days too.

Fellow’s not that good at reading or spelling—in fact, he was never a particularly strong student. (“I didn’t fail school!! The schools failed ME!!”) He’s easily frustrated by academics and thinks there should be more hands-on and practical skills taught in learning institutions.

I think it's a given that he and Ruggie would be besties since they both want to eat the rich but I also think Fellow would kiss ass to Azul and then rage about how shitty + entitled Azul is (Azul reminds Fellow of his boss)💀 Scammers hate other scammers because they're both competing to scam the same people--

Even though Fellow is an asshole to most others (well, when he’s not flattering them to lure them into a trap), he’s always nice to Gidel and puts him first. If there’s ever a situation where they’re short on something (clothes, food, etc), Gidel gets priority. This is why Gidel has a full outfit (even if parts are patches or mismatched) whereas Fellow himself has a glove that is so worn out there’s a hole in one of the pinkie fingers.

Fellow may not be blessed with a bounty of magic, but he’s quick on his feet and good with words. Because of these skills, he’s talented at spinning bedtime stories, which he often tells to Gidel to help him fall asleep on nights that are particularly cold and nasty.

Gidel still believes in Santy Claws and wishing upon stars, and Fellow doesn’t have the heart to tell him the truth. He’ll figure it out on his own one day, Fellow thinks. He just doesn’t want to be the one to ruin those childhood joys for him.

Playing pretend is another shared past time of theirs. It helps Fellow get into character before he goes off to swindle people, and it gives Gidel a way to express himself in spite of being mute. They have a routine they do together where Fellow pretends to be a doctor diagnosing a patient and Gidel takes down notes for him as his medical scribe. Yes, this is a Pinocchio reference—

They actually have many more games they play (mainly because they cannot afford other forms of entertainment). Some of the games are clever ruses conjured by Fellow to teach Gidel survival tips and tricks: the who-can-make-their-piece-of-bread-last-longer game, hide-and-seek (from the authorities), etc.

For special occasions, Fellow saves up some money on the side to grant Gidel little luxuries, like a box of crayons to doodle with.

Gidel hugs Fellow’s leg or waist to cheer him up when he’s upset. He also hides behind Fellow when he’s scared or feeling shy.

He’s just really attached to Gidel cuz they have no one else in this cruel world, just them against the world 😔 He sees a lot of his younger self in the little boy… the opportunities lost because of their circumstances… “It’s alright, Gidel. Leave it to Fellow-sama.”

I had spent the next two hours getting ready, and now it was time to get dressed. A moment I was dreading. Chris had got me this beautiful black silky dress a while back, and I never wore it. One day he went snooping through our closet and found it again, and began begging me to wear it. I finally gave in and said I’d wear it at the next event we would go to.

I didn’t expect an event to pop up so soon, and wish I bit my tongue making that promise. Don't get me wrong the dress was stunning, but since getting it for me I put on a little more weight, and I wasn’t happy with the way it hung to certain parts of my body.

Chris worshiped my body every damn day, and he never made me feel less than what I am. However that didn’t change how I felt about myself in my head. I mean I always knew I was a bigger girl, but when Chris started dating me his “fans” made sure I knew I was a bigger girl.

I mean I was very comfortable in my own skin and loved myself, but I often had those days of wishing I looked different, and not understanding how Chris picked me out of everyone else. He always told me that he didn’t care about what I looked like on the outside, and that it only mattered what was on the inside. But some days it was hard to believe that narrative.

“Babe, do I have to wear the dress?” I asked looking at Chris

“That was the promise wasn’t it?” He said sliding his shirt on

“I mean yeah, but I don’t know” I said looking over at the dress hanging up

“Don’t know about what?” He said furrowing his brows

“I mean it’s just….Ive put on weight since you got me that dress” I said looking at him

“So?” He said tilting his head at me

“Well it just hangs on to too much, and I feel fat” I said chewing my bottom lip

“Hey what did I tell you about using that word? What does it matter if you put on more weight? We’re in a happy relationship, and plus it means I feed my girl good” he said winking at me

“Yeah a bit too good” I said putting my hands on my hips

“Listen, you look beautiful no matter what. And that dress does not make you look fat okay? But if you don’t want to wear it then that’s okay too” he said coming up to me and placing his hands on my cheeks

“You know what I’ll put it on, and if I feel ugly in it then I’ll wear something else” I replied to him

“That works for me gorgeous” he said pecking my lips

I slid the dress on, and looked in the mirror. I mean it did indeed snatch me in more, but it just accentuated too much of my stomach region, and I wasn’t too happy about it.

I walked out to show Chris and his eyes lit up

“Damn baby that shit looks even better now” he said walking over to me

“You don’t have to lie to make me feel better” I said rolling my eyes

“I don’t lie, you know this. You look jaw dropping, show stopping I mean you look so good” he said walking around me

“I’ll wear it Chris” I said looking at him

“If you don’t want to you don’t have to” he said hugging me from behind

“No I’m going to face my fears and wear it” I said nodding my head

“That’s my girl” he said gripping my ass and kissing my shoulder

We had all headed out to the party. To be honest I wasn’t even sure what the party was for, but Chris seemed excited about it.

When we arrived we all made our rounds saying hi to everyone, and Nick and Matt eventually broke off to hang with different people. I stood with Chris

“Enjoying yourself?” He asked me

“Yeah I am. It’s good to get out and dress up” I said looking over at him

“We should do this more often” he said bumping my shoulder with his own

“Mmm maybe” I said laughing

“Oh come on it’s fun” he said glancing at me

“It’s just so formal is all” I said referring to everyone dressed like it was a business party

“Ehh true, maybe we should do more house parties” he said

“That would be fun” I said nodding at him

“It would” he replied

“Hey I’m going to get a drink, want one?” I asked him standing up

“Uh yeah sure” he said looking up at me

“Let me guess…a Pepsi?” I said scratching my chin

“You know me so well” he said winking at me

I rolled my eyes playfully and walked away. Walking across the venue to the bar. The bartender was pretty busy, so I just looked around waving to some people I knew and having quick conversations with those passing by me.

“Good evening, what could I get for you?” The bartender asked over the music

“Hi! May I have a Pepsi and a Amaretto sour please” I said sliding my ID to him

“Sure thing” he said glancing at my ID and sliding it back to me

As I waited I turned around waving at Matt who was just a few feet away. When I looked back the bartender was handing me my drinks.

“Here you go ma’am” he said sticking two straws in them and sliding the drinks to me

“Thank you! How much?” I asked him opening my wallet

“Oh it’s an open bar” he said laughing

“Oh cool” I said nodding at him and smiling

I grabbed the drinks and headed back to our table. I was shocked to see a bunch of Chris' friends sitting with him. They were all laughing and I slowly slid in next to Chris handing him his drink

“Thank you babe” he said looking at me

I nodded and took a sip of my drink listening in on their convos as I looked at them.

“Are you drinking?” One of them asked me

“Uh yeah” I said laughing

“I mean should you be drinking?” Another one asked

“I’m 21, so legally I can” I said laughing

“Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean you should” the other one replied

“I’m sorry? What do you mean” I said furrowing my eyebrows

“Well, aren't you pregnant?” He asked pointing at me

“What? No, who said that?” I replied

“Oh well you just got a little bigger since the last time I saw you, so I assumed Chris knocked you up” he said laughing

“What? That’s such an asshole thing to say” I replied

“I mean not really….I guess you’re just fat” he said laughing

“Yo? What the fuck man. Are you okay in the head? Who do you think you are insulting my girl? You should know better than to ever say shit about a woman’s weight” Chris said looking at him

“I’m sorry man she just looked pregnant” he said throwing his hands up in defense

“Whatever” I said sternly and slammed my cup down

I grabbed my stuff and stood up

“Babe don’t go” Chris said

“No it’s fine” I said looking back at him

I walked away from the table and found Matt and Nick near the bar, so I walked over to them.

“Y/N” Nick said smiling at me

“Hey guys” I said

“Where’s Chris?” Matt asked

“Oh he’s catching up with some friends and I didn’t want to be a bother” I said nodding

“Ahhh got it” Matt replied

I was talking to them for a total of 10 minutes before Chris came up to us.

“There you are” he said smiling at me

“Left your friends?” I said smiling at him

“Yeah a while ago….they uhh were getting on my nerves” he said looking down at me

“Yeah I wasn’t the fondest of them” I replied

“Me neither” he said wrapping his arm over my shoulder

“Say want to step out real quick?” He asked me

“Umm yeah sure” I said looking up at him

We waved bye to Matt and Nick and walked out of the venue

“Listen don’t even think about what those assholes said” Chris replied stopping us

“I mean how can I not? Pregnant? Chris do you know how big I have to look for others to think I’m expecting” I said scoffing

“They’re just assholes who have childish minds. I promise you you do not look pregnant” he said grabbing my hands

“Chris yes I do okay. Stop lying to my face. I’m fat and ugly and you just feel pity towards me” I said rolling my eyes

“STOP IT OKAY! Stop telling me HOW I feel….that's not how I feel” he said gripping my hands harder

“You’re just being nice” I said looking away

Chris scoffed and let go of one hand. He looked around and spotted a restroom. He dragged me behind him as he stomped to the bathroom

“Why are we in here” I said finally pushing him off of him

“You’re not listening to me. I love you for you. I do not care what your body looks like, and I’m sick of you telling me how I feel because it’s wrong” he said looking at me

“Chris, how can you not care? I’m so much bigger than you and your friends are pointing it out too” I said getting annoyed

“Those aren’t my friends. Anywho who makes fun of any woman, especially my woman about their body, is no friend of mine.” He stated

“Whatever” I said stepping away from him

Chris grabbed me and walked towards the mirror

“Look at yourself” he said standing behind me

“No” I said looking away

“God dammit Y/N I said look at yourself” he said sternly grabbing my head and forcing me to look at my reflection

“You know what I see when I look at you?” He asked

“A disgusting sloppy loser” I said with a straight face
