There is genuinely nothing less surprising to me this episode then Ray and Mew getting together.

Ray and Sand are falling in love, but they will never stand a chance if Ray doesn’t let go of his feelings for Mew. Which will never happen unless and until the two get together and completely crash and burn because they do not work as a couple.

Ray will shoot his shot because he’s loved Mew for so long that he likely feels like he has too. He’ll never get a better chance then he has right now. And I don’t mean that in a negatively way. I don’t mean Ray is trying to manipulate Mew or capitalize on his pain. He simply sees his opportunity to be there for Mew in a way he’s never been able to before.

Mew meanwhile has had at least part of his worldview destroyed by Top. Why not try out a little self destruction while he’s down? Who better to do that with then the person who says he loves you and has the worst self destructive tendencies you’ve ever seen?

All anyone can really do now is hope the two don’t completely destroy their own lives before they realize it’s not going to work out.

🤣🤣🤣I can't stop thinking about how bad that Daemyra beach kiss was. Even their wedding kiss, which was slightly better I guess, still sucked donkey ass. Their wedding kiss wasn't that of two people who've pined for each other for so long and have wished for this moment their whole life, and now they finally get to marry the love of their life. It felt like a mischievous political match sealed by sex and common goals. It's a marriage built off of a man grooming his niece because she's the next best thing he has to be with his brother, and she's marrying him because she's been conditioned to think that her life would suck without him and that her whole world revolves around him and that she was made for him.

I mean Jesus Christ that kiss scene was not that of 2 people who've been pining for each other for so long. Who fought to be together and are relieved to finally be in each other's arms. It was stiff as hell! It was rigid and they didn't look in sync. They weren't melting into each other. For fuck sake they look like 2 kids experiencing their first kiss with each other. WHERE IS THE MELTING?! WHERE'S THE REVEALING?! WHERE'S THE BASKING IN THE AMBIANCE OF EACH OTHER?! WHERE'S THE URGENCY AND THE NEED TO NOT LET EACH OTHER GO IN FEAR OF LOSING THEM AGAIN?! WHERE IS ANY OF THAT?!

The more I rewatch Season 1 the more blatant it becomes that the show never portrayed these 2 as this epic power couple. Nothing about Daemon's feelings for Rhaenyra nor his "courtship" of her was sincere. They never fought to be together. Daemon never supported Rhaenyra's claim to the throne until he married her. He constantly undermined her as heir since 1x02, and continued to do so until the season finale. Rhaenyra has hyped Daemon up in her mind and built him to be this person that he ain't, and when she finally sees the real him it's not only disappointing, but it's also terrifying.

I’ve got to commend you for rewatching the show over again because it sucks as a whole👏🏽(they are really just riding off the coattails of GOT fame).

You aren’t lying, Dumbnyra literally have no chemistry which makes it all the more obvious that yeah this is a marriage of convenience and not a love match. It’s all about what they can gain from the other(hell Rhaenyra literally says that in episode 7 and the only time Daemon perks up is when he gets to enact violence/when violence is ongoing).

There is nothing there of substance. The fans just got tricked by seeing two people in a blonde wig saying they are the Blood of Old Valyria.
