today's news: riddle rosehearts and f/n l/n to star together in the newest lawyer romance film — will they be our new on-screen love interests?

co-starring with riddle rosehearts in this new legal drama film was not what you expected this year. yes, you have worked alongside this actor in several shows, one of them being a tv series inspired by a mobile game called twisted wonderland.

you weren't typically known as a performer in legal drama films, but it isn't so bad to expand your repertoire, no?

so here you were in the movie studio, seated politely as the hair and make-up artists started touching you up for your next scene. riddle was seated as well; his own hair and make-up artists were touching him up while he rehearsed his lines under his breath.

riddle rosehearts was the diligent, serious type of actor. come to think of it, he does have similarities with the character he plays in twisted wonderland, but he does know how to have fun from time to time.

like his role in twisted wonderland, riddle also loves hedgehogs, and he would sometimes scold another co-star, ace trappola, if he messes around the studio too much and disrupt the shooting sessions.

however, now, he was the only actor from twisted wonderland in this set — aside from you, of course.

"alright, picture is up!"

the voice of the assistant director caught both of your attention as you thanked the hair and make-up artists before approaching the movie set. you stood in your position and did some soft breathing exercises to help calm your nerves a little bit before the scene started.

you were playing the role of a lawyer fresh out of law school, while riddle also plays the role of a lawyer but is your character's senior. that said, riddle's character is the youngest top lawyer in the law firm and this specific scene you were shooting is when your character tries to take riddle's character out to relax after overworking so much in the firm.

"action!"

and with that, the two of you were in character. your character's desk was next to riddle's as you sat on your chair. you turned to face riddle as you spoke, "hey, mister rosehearts... do you always stay in the firm overtime?"

"yes."

what a curt answer, but ah, it was part of the script.

"do you ever leave the firm?" you asked with a raised brow, looking at the clock prop and seeing that there are 15 minutes before you could clock out. "it's not like i live here," responded riddle, "but yes, i do tend to stay late in the office especially when there are plenty of cases i need to handle."

"woah~ you're really amazing, mister rosehearts. no wonder you're the top lawyer in this firm," you responded, leaning back on your chair as you looked at your co-star while he typed random things on the computer before him to pretend his character was working.

"but..." you trailed off as you moved closer to him with the use of your rolling chair. once you were beside riddle, you spoke your next line, "being the best lawyer in this firm doesn't mean you have to overwork yourself. how about i take you to a patisserie so you could unwind and relax? take your mind off work, sir!"

riddle then looked at you with a serious expression, but you can tell that his character was conveying both disbelief at your character for suggesting such a thing and curiosity about your character's actions. this junior wish to make their senior live life outside of the four corners of the law firm?

"...miss l/n, don't you have any cases to work on?"

"i've revised them already, and we have..." you looked up at the clock prop, "10 minutes before we clock out. come onnn, it'll be fun!" riddle sighed and shrugged as he placed both arms on the armrest, "just this once."

"cut!"

the assistant director's voice made you and riddle sigh softly as you broke character for a bit. the director then held the megaphone as he spoke, "that was great, you two. however, i'd like for you to repeat the last portion, starting from the line, "don't you have any cases to work on?", alright?"

"yes, director," responded riddle as he let out a heavy breath to calm himself. you smiled at him and patted his shoulder, "you got this, riddle." the red-haired male smiled at you as he nodded, "yes, thank you, f/n."

"ready? action!"

"miss l/n, don't you have any cases to work on?" riddle asked in a stern tone as he looked at your character with a bored expression. you frowned a little as you spoke, "i've revised them already, mister rosehearts! and besides, we have around 10 minutes before we clock out... come on~ it'll be fun!"

riddle continued typing on the keyboard, but you could see the computer was turned off. luckily, that wasn't seen on camera. riddle sighed and leaned back on his office chair, placing his arms on the armrest as he looked at you with that same bored expression.

"fine. just this once."

"annnnd cut! that was perfect! alright, moving on!" spoke the director as you and riddle stood up, your hair and make-up artists approaching you and working on touching up your appearance while the crew worked on changing the scenery of the movie set.

during all these preparations for the next scene, you sat beside riddle and looked at the script on his hands while he kept rehearsing his lines under his breath. since it would take a while before your next shot, you spoke to him, "hey, how about i help you?"

riddle glanced at you and handed his script with a smile, "sure, no problem. thank you, f/n..." you nodded with a smile and held his script as you started rehearsing with him, "alright, i'll start with my line and we can go from there... ahem... mister rosehearts, isn't this patisserie wonderful? there are plenty of delicious treats in here!"

"indeed. you are quite fond of them, miss l/n," spoke riddle as you gave him a thumbs up to indicate he perfectly said his line.

"mhm! they're amazing...! then, our characters take a seat, drink on some beverages, though i'm quite sure they'll just hand us water with some food colouring..." you commented, which earned a chuckle from riddle, "then it'll be your line!"

"right, uh... miss l/n, how do you like being a lawyer so far?"

"mister rosehearts, we're here so we can relax, not think of work, you know? but i would say i enjoy it... it is quite stressful, yes, but the satisfaction we get at the end of the cases that went well feels rewarding..." you responded, holding the script and eyeing it intently.

"i see... that makes sense. if you ever feel overwhelmed, you can always ask me for a helping hand. you're a diligent and honest person and i see a lot of potential in you... you're making us proud."

ah.

you're a professional performer. you shouldn't mix these lines up with reality.

but... the way riddle said it gave you butterflies. you cleared your throat to try and brush off your slightly flustered state, nodding to indicate that he said his line right.

due to your flustered state, you did not notice the way riddle smiled at you. there was a hint of adoration and fondness in his eyes that went unnoticed by you, it was as if he was speaking as both his character and himself.

"alright, uh... thank you, mister rosehearts."

you smiled at riddle and handed back the script to him as he thanked you. feeling his hand brush against yours as he grabbed the script made you feel butterflies again. what was going on?

well, whatever it was, you tried to best to ignore it.

and even if riddle had not noticed your flustered state, other people have.

"riddle rosehearts and f/n l/n to star in the newest lawyer romance film, on-screen love interests or off-screen sweethearts?" mumbled the production assistant to the executive producer as they both giggled amongst themselves.

distinguished guests of tonight's show! here we have one of the world-famous celebrity couples in set joining us today! let's welcome leona kingscholar and f/n l/n!

the production phase of the sports film that you and leona co-starred in had just finished and you two were now attending talk shows and interviews to talk about the movie, your lives, and so on. on this specific night, you and leona were invited as guests to the popular late-night talk show called the diamond night show.

the host? it's one of your co-stars in the mobile game-inspired series called twisted wonderland, cater diamond.

"hello, everyone! welcome to the diamond night show!"

as soon as cater spoke, the crowd went wild. he had a lively audience despite running this show at around midnight. cater always had this charm on him that just energizes people.

"we have two very special guests tonight, i'm sure you all would be totes hyped as i am to see them! let's welcome... the celebrity couple that made us believe love is still in the air tonight... leona kingscholar and f/n l/n!!!"

and again, the crowd went wild, but this was both of your cues to enter the scene. you and leona went up on the stage and waved to the crowd as you sat on the couch beside cater's desk. the orange-haired fellow smiled at the sight of you and leona as he spoke, "leona, f/n! hey, it's been a while!"

you greeted cater with a friendly smile, "cay-kun! how have you been? wow, a late-night talk show, huh?"

leona merely gave cater a nod as he spoke, "been a while."

you and cater chuckled as the orange-haired host replied, "it has been a while since twisted wonderland ended its series, so i found the time to start my own late-night talk show! it's been fun having the rest of our co-stars here from time to time. anyway, enough about that, how are things with you two?"

"uhh... well, well... we've been well..." you and leona replied in unison as the crowd laughed a bit.

"wow~ you two have this chemistry that is noticeable even when we were filming twisted wonderland way back then!" commented cater as the crowd went wild.

"if it was that obvious back then, i guess i can see why f/n and i are considered to be an on-screen couple," spoke leona as you laughed softly. "i remember when we had to retake a lot of scenes because i couldn't stop laughing at leona," you added, which made cater laugh.

"because i wasn't used to seeing him so grumpy all the time!" you spoke in a lighthearted tone while laughing, "but i can also see that his character in twisted wonderland has similarities to who he is as a person."

"you have similarities with your character, too," replied leona as he snickered.

"anyway, congratulations to you two for the success of your latest movie!" cheered cater as the crowd went wild again. you and leona smiled and thanked them as you spoke first, "ah, yes... it was fun to film this movie, everyone was so nice and they're all working hard. i'm happy to know that the movie was a success."

"i'd say that aside from twisted wonderland, shooting this movie was one of the best experiences i had," added leona as cater nodded. "i heard the crew and the cast were having a great time during the making of this movie, although it can be stressful at times."

"yes, yes, well... i'm sure every making of the movie has its stressful times, so that wouldn't be a surprise, but i'd say the lighthearted moments were really the most memorable ones," you replied.

"before we dig deeper into that, i, along with the rest of the crowd and the people watching back home, want to know... are you two actually a couple?" cater spoke as his voice went gradually a softer tone as he asked that question. the crowd yelled and cheered about how they were curious to know the truth, which made you and leona glance at one another with a smile.

you then looked at cater and nodded, responding nonchalantly as if it wasn't a big deal, "yeah, we are."

and again, the crowd went wild, but even louder than earlier.

"woah, since when?! what made you realize you liked each other?" asked cater as he now grew curious. "it realized i got a crush on leona during our filming session of twisted wonderland's second season... but i was too shy to admit it."

"and i realized i got a crush on them during the filming session of twisted wonderland's pilot episode..." added leona as you looked at him with a smile.

"ah, the pilot episode that was never released?" asked cater, which made you and leona nod.

...

"okay, picture's up! we're recording in 3..." spoke the assistant director as you and leona stood in your respective positions. once the camera and audio were recording, you started to get into character. grim, who was just a plushie edited by cgi, started his line.

"hey, take a look at this! it looks like there are tons of fruits in here! they smell so good!" spoke grim's voice actor as you started to walk down the botanical garden, intentionally stepping on what seemed to be leona's tail.

"ow!" shrieked leona as he hissed and glared at you and the grim plushie, "hey. you've got guts stepping on someone's tail without apologizing." grim then replied, "are you the guy tending to this place? you look scary..."

leona clicked his tongue in annoyance as he mumbled, "I went here thinking i can take a nice nap, but my tail gets stepped on. this is the worst." you scoffed to yourself and looked away, mumbling softly, "it's your fault for sticking your tail out on the path in the first place..."

leona raised a brow at your words, eyeing you up and down as he remarked, "ah, i saw you at the entrance ceremony." he then leaned out next to your ear as he sniffed your scent, making you freeze on the spot as instructed in the script.

however, the proximity was suddenly making your heart race. you could smell his perfume; his fragrant scent was pleasing, and you liked it. his eyes trailed all over your figure with that small smirk on his face that his character usually uses. you know it's just acting, but you can't deny how attractive he looks.

oh, surely, you weren't falling for your co-star.

"i don't smell a spark of magic in you. i'm not going to pick a fight with a weakling," spoke leona before he turned around and left, just as the script had instructed.

"━cut!"

suddenly, the assistant director's voice echoed loudly throughout the studio while the director sighed. "this doesn't seem right... we'll revise the script. the actors can take a rest for a moment."

once you sat on your chair, you let out a huge sigh which caught cater's attention. he looked at you and tilted his head, "you good, girl? you seem spooked."

you stayed silent for a moment, biting the inside of your cheek as you sighed heavily once more, "i just... feel weird lately." you then dismissed yourself with a smile as you told cater not to worry about it.

...

"ohh! i see, i remember that! haha, i really thought you were sick for a moment, n/n! but you just caught the feels," spoke cater as his words made the crowd laugh a little in response, "it's really a pleasure to see you two again, lovebirds! hehe, we all hope you guys will end up getting married and having adorable little babies!"

the crowd went wild.

and you? flustered. leona chuckled at your reaction as he placed an arm around your shoulder before looking at cater, "you all better look forward to it." once again, the crowd screamed with joy before they started chanting a combination of both your names - a ship name, you could say.

�� 𝙖𝙯𝙪𝙡 𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙤 ━

studio gossip says two certain performers have a chemistry that makes them so perfect for each other! everyone and their pets ship them~

another day of filming, another day of hearing giggles around the studio. you were in the hair and make-up area as the hair stylist started fixing your hair. your other co-stars were busy touching up as well, while the others were revising their lines or drinking some water and doing vocal exercises.

suddenly, the voices of the assistant director and the production assistant caught your attention as they gossiped amongst themselves by the door, which happened to be near where you were seated.

"don't you think our film's male and female lead have good chemistry?" spoke the assistant director as she chuckled while the production assistant nodded with a laugh.

"totally! i have worked in many films, but this year's movie actors totally have great chemistry on-screen or off-screen. i bet they'd be a couple soon," replied the production assistant as you blushed a little upon hearing their words.

you. you were the female lead.

your current project is a corporate-centred film about your character returning to the workforce for the first time after a long break. an adult woman from the lands of the east migrating to the west for career opportunities ends up becoming employed in one of the world's most known corporations, and she happens to land a job as the chief operating officer and works closely with the corporate's ceo.

from what you have read the brief, the film mostly focuses on the struggles of your character and how corporate jobs have the tendency to demand a lot from one person, but it can get rewarding at the end of the day. there were also implied hints of romance, so there's that.

now, it all seemed great until you have been partnered up with one of the industry's well-known businessman and actor, who also happens to be your co-star in a series long ago - azul ashengrotto.

you have been familiar with him. he was your co-star in twisted wonderland, but it has been a few years since you've worked with him after the end of twisted wonderland. though you felt excited at the thought of meeting with an old friend, you also felt nervous at the thought of acting those lovey-dovey scenes with him.

"anyway, we better head back and start filming scene 50." the voice of the assistant director brought you back to reality as the hair stylist smiled at you while looking at your reflection. "you're all set, ma'am!" exclaimed your hair stylist as you smiled and thanked her before heading to the set.

"okay! so, for scene fifty, i'm sure you all know what to do... let's adjust the camera... picture's up!" spoke the assistant director as the cameraman fixed the angle of the camera, "okay... action!"

the set was designed to look like your office as you sat on the executive chair, looking through the papers as if you were working, noticing that the papers on your desk were just random articles that were made for the sake of the prop.

the scene starts with you sighing as you go through the prop documents, supposedly analyzing the reports sent by each department's head and jotting down all the ideas that your character had in mind to set a new policy in the corporation.

the door then opened as azul walked in, making you stand up as you spoke in surprise, "sir, i wasn't expecting you to come to my office... you could have rung me up and i'll head to yours." azul shook his head and smiled at you, remembering all his lines as always. he walked towards you until you were both standing across one another, with only your executive table blocking his path, "how are you liking the job so far?"

your expression shifted to that of surprise as told by the script, "oh, i... like it a lot. i'm adjusting well. thank you for checking in..." azul still had that smile on his face before looking around the room, the glass walls were covered by the roller shades, not allowing anyone to look into your office as it gave you complete privacy.

"now, business is business. i'm sure you know that, l/n..." trailed azul as you nodded, "however, i am reaching out to you right now as an individual, not as your boss." you raised a brow in response before he grabbed an envelope from the inner pocket of his suit and handing it to you.

you then grabbed it and the first thing that caught your attention were the words, 'you are invited'. you looked up at him to see azul still smiling, "there's a party going on this friday, and it's rather for personal reasons. a family member of mine is hosting an engagement party and i was invited. i was told it is a... prom-themed engagement party, perhaps to recreate the first date or so."

"so... you're inviting me?" you asked.

"yes... the invitation indicated that each person could bring a plus one, and i thought of inviting you. i want to get to know you more, l/n, if you'd let me," spoke azul before he leaned forward to bow a little, making you surprised as you had never seen him like that before.

you grew flustered.

this was not part of the script, so you tried to calm yourself, but you knew your flustered state was seen on camera. azul was a little curious about your reaction since he knew your character was only supposed to smile and say yes, but you were full-on blushing.

unbeknownst to you and your co-star, the director and the assistant director looked at one another with knowing smiles.

due to your flustered state, you were a little delayed in your response as you accidentally stuttered your lines out, "i-i... um... s-sure! yes, i'll go with you, then... ah! i'm so sorry!"

you covered your red face as giggles erupted from the room as the cameraman paused the recording. azul laughed as well before looking at the director, "i think she's falling in love, director!"

"the way you say it really made me flustered!" you exclaimed with a smile and a dark blush as you grew embarrassed. the assistant director and the director looked at each other once more before the latter spoke, "i see a new relationship blooming~ they'd totally grab the headlines."

━ 𝙫𝙞𝙡 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙣𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙩 ━

this just in, actor and model vil schoenheit to star in the upcoming romance film with twisted wonderland co-star and rumoured partner, f/n l/n.

the news of your new project with vil has been spreading like wildfire. of course, you remained professional and did not care about the circulating rumours about you two dating and whatnot, you had a career to focus on and so did he.

filming the romance film was as sensational as it has always been. it was pleasant to work with vil, his level of professionalism and his acting skills always made you admire him. how can a man so beautiful be so talented as well? he’s like a perfect package, at least, to you and to his fans.

you were currently taking interviews with vil at the red carpet right after the evening award show. you have been surrounded by paparazzi and newscasters, wanting to get even a slice of the news and report it to the public.

“f/n! vil! what can you say about your upcoming film?!” spoke one of the newscasters as they held the mic towards you two. you and vil gave them a smile as you spoke kindly, “all i can say is it is something to look forward to. vil and i have both expressed our enthusiasm in the release of ‘a love untold’, and… it will make you cry; it will make you swoon, and it will help you realise how lucky you are to have someone loving you unconditionally.”

“similar to miss f/n’s statement, i can attest that a love untold is something you all can look forward to. we have done our very best and gave our all in the filming and production of this movie,” added vil as the others in the crowd started screaming and swooning.

soon, the release of your movie was made public and you were in your home, reading to relax for the evening until you heard two of your property caretakers squealing in the kitchen. you stood up from the couch and walked towards the direction of your squealing caretakers and noticed they were watching your film through their device whilst chopping some vegetables for dinner.

the current scene playing on their device made you pause a bit as you watched by the door.

“if you’re tired, then rest and let me handle everything. if you’re tired of carrying the burdens, then lean on me for support. i’m always ready to support you with open arms and you know that,” spoke vil as he was in-character.

your teary expression flashed by the screen as it started raining. the setting was the streets on a rainy night right outside your character’s house. vil wrapped his arms around you as you continued to sob your lines out for dramatic effect.

“i’m sorry,” you sobbed, “it’s just that my parents– “

“your parents do not know how many nights you spent crying because you think you’re not good enough. it’s time to set boundaries … i can’t let you do this to yourself any longer,” whispered vil as he caressed your hair and held you in an embrace, not caring if he was drenched in the rain – which was actually regular water pouring through a garden watering pot.

you then looked up to meet his gaze as he wiped your tears away, smiling softly at you.

you smiled to yourself as you watched the scene. you had enjoyed filming that part, albeit there was a lot of giggles right after the scene was cut due to you and vil getting drenched, as well as a blooper scene where the water in the pot ran out in the middle of a dramatic scene.

that scene made you think about your relationship with vil. he was always there for you ever since you started your journey in show business, and he was always supportive of your goals and ambitions.

deciding to give him some appreciation, you walked away from the kitchen door and back into the lounge as you grabbed your phone and sent vil a quick text.

‘darling, if i have not said this enough, i love you and i appreciate you.’

it was true that you and vil were dating. none of you denied the allegations, after all.

the continuous beeping notifications of your device woke you up from your slumber as you groaned and grabbed it, wondering what was so urgent at 6 in a saturday morning. you unlocked your phone to see several messages from idia, a fellow actor and your previous co-star in the series twisted wonderland.

all his messages were mostly your nickname and your name, as well as a few messages saying, ‘wake up’ and ‘we’re trending!!!’. you raised a brow and replied to his messages, asking him what was going on, that it was so early in the morning, and if he ever slept at all.

he then sent you a link to a social media post that had a video of the entertainment news featuring you and idia. what made your eyes widen was the picture shown. it was a photo of you and idia dressed in casualwear, smiling at one another with a bunch of giant plushies in hand.

it was a photo from yesterday. you two were completely unaware that people recognized you and took photos of you both.

“look! there’s a virtual reality corner over there!” you exclaimed, excitement laced in your tone as you tugged on idia’s arm and pointed at the vr gaming area. he quickly looked at the direction you’re pointing at. the sunglasses you both wore made everything seem tinted, but you did not mind as it is necessary to hide your identity.

the last thing you wanted was people to recognize you both and spread rumours.

you and idia were here as mere individuals, not as an actress and actor, not as superstars. you wanted to enjoy your night after shooting some scenes in the morning, and the game festival was the perfect place for you and idia to wind down and have fun.

you two had the night of your lives, enjoying yourselves to the fullest in the gaming festival.

perhaps, you two enjoyed too much that you did not realise someone snuck a picture of the two of you as soon as your hoods fell and revealed both of your hair tied into a ponytail, and idia was very recognizable with that blue hair of his.

“oh… my… god…” you mumbled under your breath in shock as you stared at the video playing on your screen. ‘once again, this is your daily dose of celebrity gossip! let’s hope and wait for either one of them to confirm that they are indeed dating!’

those were the last words you heard before the video ended. you still stared in disbelief, not knowing what to do or what to say and you knew your talent manager will immediately start asking you about it once they see this video.

you quickly replied to idia, ‘what do we do?’

‘i don’t know…’ replied idia.

‘should we go public?’ you asked, typing rapidly as you felt your heart beating loudly.

‘we’d get endless interviews,’ responded the man.

you sighed to yourself as you continued texting him until you both came to a conclusion to let the rumours be for a while as it will eventually die out. your managers said the same thing as well, to let the rumours be and it will eventually die out.

it did not.

days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and months turned into a year. surely, people aren’t that interested in your love life? you had expected it to die out and people would move on, but no matter how long you told yourself that, the rumours seemed to spike even more.

eventually, you and idia came out to the public and confirmed the dating rumours going around and, much to idia’s discomfort, several interviews have piled up one after the other, completely interested in knowing the timeline of your relationship and whatnot.

‘ladies and gentlemen, it has been confirmed by the couple themselves that they are indeed a pair! f/n l/n and idia shroud have made their confirmation to the public during the wonderland award show!’

sensational sparks: malleus draconia and f/n l/n set to ignite screens in anticipated romance film.

working with the renowned malleus draconia felt like an honour – to you, at least. he was well-known throughout the industry as a charmingly mysterious and talented actor, not uttering a lot about himself but is known to be respectful to everyone he meets.

starring with him in twisted wonderland was great. his character in the series is quite like his real personality that you couldn’t help but think he was not acting at all. years have passed since twisted wonderland ended and you two had pursued your own paths in acting, taking up different genres of projects to play in to discover yourself.

you had not expected your fates to cross again, and you were a little shy to establish a connection with him that runs deeper than an acquaintance or a co-worker, so you were left to accept that you’d probably just admire him from afar.

however, it seems fate was playing cards and luck was on your side. you had accepted a new project wherein you play the female lead in a historical romance movie. according to the script sent to you, the movie was set in the late 1800s and your character was a princess from another kingdom who was betrothed to the crown prince and the story tackles their romantic adventure and how they learn to love each other unconditionally.

pretty much like a regular romance movie with a twist of history, you did not mind, and you’d gladly play the part of a princess even if it was just for a movie.

you did not think much of it until you were told by the director that the leading man – the man playing the role of the prince – was malleus draconia himself. you could not respond for a few seconds due to shock, which worried the director, but you reassured him everything is alright, and you’d gladly work with him.

upon arriving at the set, you greeted malleus with a smile, and he gave you a polite one in return. filming the first scene was great and no mistakes were made. you had everything under control, or so you hoped.

once the first romance scene came, you tried to keep clam as you stood by the desk as malleus approached you, his tall figure towering over you as he spoke in a deep tone, “…if you have any qualms about marrying me, speak now.”

“what…?” you spoke, memorizing your lines.

“once you sign the marriage contract, there is no going back. i want to make sure both of our kingdoms will be in a stable condition, so i want to prevent any case of annulment or divorce. if you have any doubts, now is your chance to back out and we can both pretend this transaction never existed,” replied malleus as he spoke out his lines word for word all to a tee.

‘he’s so incredible… his eyes look lovely up close… his eyelashes are pretty long, too… ah, wait… my line!’

“u-um… i have no doubts. i’ll marry you.”

it was not your intention to stutter as you spoke your lines, but the director did not seem to mind it as he let the scene continue. you two continued to shoot the other scenes and you had one last scene to film for the day before you could go back to your home to rest then come back again the next day for the next filming session.

“okay, this is the last scene for the day. picture’s up! annnd… action!” spoke the assistant director as the camera started rolling and you and malleus immediately went into character.

malleus wrapped his arms around your waist as he held you close. your cheeks were red but you tried to tone down your flustered state as he whispered, “shall we?” you nodded as he held your hand and started dancing with you. the current setting of the scene was in a ballroom and you were dolled up in a ballgown, dancing around the set with malleus as music played through the speakers.

at the moment, it seemed like everything else did not matter. you forgot that you were acting out a scene, you forgot that you were an actress, you forgot that you were merely playing a role with malleus in this movie. all you could see was the way his eyes scanned your figure as he held your hand in a tight but not painful manner, as he settled his hand on your waist and eventually moved them across your back to pull you closer to him.

your feet moved on their own as you danced across the ballroom studio with malleus, looking deep into his eyes. time stood still and all you knew was the handsome man in front of you, dressed in a princely attire and holding you close to him.

it seemed even he noticed your trance and smirked a little as he whispered, “did i take your breath away?”

you snapped out of your thoughts, wondering why he said that when it wasn’t a part of the script, but you did not care. you gave him a bashful smile as your cheeks went rosy once more, “you could say that…”

once the music stopped, his touch immediately parted away from your skin, making you frown a little, but you did not want to make it obvious. you two gave each other a respectful bow and the director immediately cut the scene.

you sighed in relief and smiled at malleus, thanking him for the wonderful performance and complimenting his acting. “you did great today…” you spoke, albeit still a little bashful. malleus smiled and thanked you for your kindness before returning the same compliment, “thank you. you were as wonderful as you have always been, miss f/n.”

meanwhile, the director and the assistant director glanced at one another with knowing smiles before looking back at the cameraman, giving them a thumbs-up as if to confirm that the camera was still rolling and intended to include the tape in the behind-the-scenes.

Premise: Little was known about the private life of energetic WSO Mikey 'Fanboy' Garcia to his fellow Top Gun alum. He was a walking encyclopedia when it came to all thing's superheroes and Hollywood's biggest stars. So it's the biggest surprise of their lives when the face behind his call sign Fanboy is revealed after years of wondering who claimed his heart when he was just a teenager.

If there is one thing the Dagger squad knows about their energetic WSO, Mickey Garcia, it’s that he lives up to his callsign Fanboy. Everyday they bear witness to his knowledge of all things superheroes and who’s dating who in Hollywood. The man’s apartment--or dorm on base depending on where he is--gives away all his interests and pop culture loves. Anyone who becomes friends with Mickey would have no trouble finding a birthday gift. There'd be endless ideas.

Each room of his home had its own theme. Go to the bathroom and you’re hit with his love for Star Wars. Doctor Who memorabilia coats his kitchen. Then his living room looks straight out of Avengers tower. Throughout the apartment there’s knick knacks from attending a multitude of conventions, including a wall dedicated to signed pictures and movie posters.

“Damn, Garcia,” Hangman whistles, roaming the vast collection. “You sure are a collector.” The WSO laughs, waltzing to his fridge to collect a case of beers for the squad.

“My pride and joy.”

“I can see that,” Jake stops in front of a glass case filled to the brim with Funko Pops and figurines. One striking detail was the majority being characters of a certain actress hot in the Hollywood scene. “I see you also got a crush on Y/n L/n.”

The name sent a large smile on Mickey’s face, filling his chest with warmth and butterflies, though his friends were too occupied to notice. “You can say that.”

“C’mon, Mickey!” Y/n shouted at him from the sidewalk, waving a hand frantically toward the movie theater. “We’re gonna miss it!” It was a packed house, Mickey weaving through a horde of people after his mother dropped him off, promising to pick the two teenagers once the film ended. Listed in bold letters on the showings were “Spider-Man 2”, along with several others but they didn’t matter to them. They were there for the newest Spider-Man, having anticipated it all year.

Y/n stood with a cross body bag filled with candy, holding up the tickets. “You’re lucky I already got our seats.” Mickey fell into step as she led them inside, rolling his eyes playfully.

“At the very least we’d miss the previews, Y/n.” He held the door open, “not the end of the world.”

“Speak for yourself,” she teased, thanking him in the process. Together they beelined for the concessions. With a soda and popcorn bucket in their hands the teens made it to their seats right as the lights dimmed. Y/n visibly excited during the trailers for National Treasure, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Then when it came time for the movie to start, she barely touched the popcorn. Leaving Mickey to enjoy it for himself. They shared candy and gasps during intense scenes.

When the film ended the teens made their way out immersed in a debrief, “Harry is going to be a problem in the next one,” Y/n predicted with confidence, “Now that he knows Peter is Spider-Man, he’s gonna go after him to avenge his father.” The girl threw her hands up, “Which wasn’t even his fault!”

Mickey laughed, popping a few leftover skittles in his mouth, “I’m kinda sad about Octavius. He had a change of heart in the end.”

“Yeah,” she agreed with a sigh. They walked in the direction of the Dairy Queen next to the theater. Craving some ice cream while they waited for Mickey’s mom. “I hope one day I can be in one.” Mickey peered at her, frowning at her tone which was a mix of longing and sadness.

“A superhero movie?”

“Any movie really,” she chuckled, pushing her hands in the pockets of her denim jacket. “A superhero one would be amazing--just because I love them so much.” Since they became friends at eight years old and their shared interest in comics, Y/n and Mickey watched pretty much every superhero movie to exist. Only when they turned 10 did their parents allow them to go to the theaters on opening weekend with supervision. It was the past year they were able to go alone now that they were fifteen and in high school.

Living in California, on the outskirts of Los Angeles, Y/n had always had a desire to go into acting. Begging her family to take her to auditions. Which was difficult considering they had full time jobs. Y/n’s mother a paralegal and her father a mechanic. When Y/n turned 10 her parents agreed to take her to commercial auditions on weekends. She landed several jobs, including ones for well known brands like Coca-Cola, Cheerios, and Motarola to promote their new phone. Children's toys, and hotel marketing. Recently came guest roles on popular tv-shows, like That’s So Raven, House, and voice acting on Danny Phantom. She had her agent to thank for that.

But she was itching for that big break.

“You’ll make it, Y/n,” Mickey put his arm around her shoulder, the girl leaning in. “You’re the most ambitious, hard-driven, working person I’ve ever met. You’ve got family and friends who support you. An agent who cares about you.” If there was one thing he was right about it was her support team. Y/n’s agent Tanya had been with Y/n for two years and worked endlessly to secure her projects. The two were introduced in 2002 shortly after Y/n had a small role of a young vampire in Queen of the Damned. Her first feature debut, but it was so small she wasn’t listed on the credits.

Tanya believed in Y/n more than anyone else. She was the reason Y/n appeared on more tv-shows than commercials within the last two years. While getting movie roles proved difficult, Tanya was determined and had Y/n pumping out auditions left and right.

Mickey squeezed her shoulder gently, adding a friendly kiss to her cheek that made her heart flutter. “It’ll happen.You just have to be patient.”

If only the two had made a bet that day. Mickey never lost faith in Y/n’s potential. And when they finally entered a relationship junior year after years of mutual pining it only heightened. They both attended University of Southern California, Y/n pursuing acting while Mickey studied aeronautical engineering. While finishing high school, Y/n auditioned consistently for L.A productions, accumulating credits on Constantine (which had her loss for words getting to work with Keanu Reeves), Ugly Betty, Bring It On: All or Nothing, and her personal favorite, X-Men: The Last Stand. Then in 2006 she had credits on Transformers, Knocked-Up, and Freedom Writers which were released in 2007. Those roles would benefit her in the years to come for the connections she made with co-stars.

Her building resume those years resulted in Y/n getting that big break she dreamed off. One crisp January day in 2007, having just wrapped on a guest appearance on Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Y/n received a call from Tanya. Changing the trajectory of her career forever.

“I’ve got you an audition to play Robert Downey Jr.’s daughter in this new Iron Man production.”

Y/n literally spit out her soda, choking as she tried to say, “I’m sorry, did you say Iron Man.” Of course she heard correctly, but Y/n being the massive comic fan she had to be sure.

“Yes,” Tanya chuckled, Y/n could hear her typing away on her laptop. “I’m emailing you the scene--you’ll read for Jon Favreau, Kevin Feige and the casting director. There’s a chance Robert might be there for you two to do a chemistry read.”

Y/n rushed to her laptop, nearly running into the wall of her dorm when she cut the corner too fast. The *ding* of the email coming through sounded, Y/n sliding into her chair at a rapid speed to open the document and print it out.

“So you’ll do it?” Tanya’s voice reminded the girl she was still on the phone.

“Where do I meet you?”

Now if Y/n were being honest, she wasn’t too confident of her chances of getting the role. It was the inaugural film of this highly anticipated Marvel franchise. Not to mention an L.A set so who knows how many up and coming actors are fighting for a spot. Y/n knew her odds were slim. But she was going to give the best damn performance ever.

She planned to tell Mickey about the audition once she knew the outcome. As much as she loved and trusted him and his faith in her, Y/n didn’t want to disappoint him. Not that she ever could, Mickey adored her and supported everything she did. But since he loved superheroes as much as her, this was important to him as well.

The audition process was a long and painful process. Following the initial reading, Y/n had been called back four more times as the team narrowed down their choices. They did several scenes, particularly the ones with Robert since the character would be on screen with him the most. Each time Y/n read with Robert it was nerveracking, but she handled it well and really put her acting capabilities to the test. The man complimented her after every session to which she was grateful for. It boosted her confidence. Even if she didn’t get the role, Y/n was thankful for the experience and hoped to work with Robert in the future.

After a grueling month-long process, Y/n received the call she’d been waiting for. From Kevin Feige himself. “We want you to be our Jordyn Stark.” It took everything in Y/n to hold back her screams of joy. Releasing them the second they ended the call. She nearly woke up the entire dorm hall, thankfully no cops were called.

Mickey was over the moon when she told him the news. Jumping from his side of the booth to pull her up into a massive hug. Kissing all over her face, “Oh my God this is amazing!! You’re gonna be a superhero--I knew you could do it! Holy shit!” They looked like little kids in a candy store, bouncing up and down in a fit of excitement.

Proud of his girlfriend, Mickey dragged her to the nearest comic store. Purchasing a comic that featured her character and figurine. “Will you do me the honor,” he held up a sharpie, grinning at the look of joy on her face, “of signing this for me. I want to be the first person to have THE Jordyn Stark aka THE Iron Lady,” he winked, and finished, “aka THE Y/n L/n’s autograph.”

Tears formed in her eyes. Both from the overwhelming amount of happiness and because of Mickey’s whole show. People passing by gave confused looks, unaware the girl was about to become the face of a whole generation.

Iron Man’s release sparked a new era in Hollywood. Marvel Studios got the green light to begin plans for a whole phase of projects in the universe. Reception to Y/n’s performance of Jordyn Stark was well received. Fans and critics praised her, fellow actors committing she was the scene stealer.

Rosario Dawson, a massive comic book fan, stated in an interview when asked if she saw Iron Man, “Are you kidding? I saw it three times in theaters--I was blown away! And the girl who played Tony’s daughter, I believe Y/n is her name, oh my gosh she was amazing,” the woman talked with her hands, “Every scene she was in had me either laughing, on the edge of my seat, or simply going ‘wow, this girl is talented’. She matched Robert’s energy on screen so you’d think they are a father-daughter duo in real life.”

Samuel L. Jackson, who would go on to be Y/n’s co-star in future Marvel films and Hollywood projects, said, “Look I don’t say this lightly, but that girl is gonna go places. And to think this is her first big supporting role in a motion picture!” He smiled brightly, “what a talent.”

Y/n was full of excitement, not hesitating to sign her name on the dotted line for a multi-picture contract--but not before her agent and lawyer read over it. The success she garnered from Iron Man occurred rather quickly. In the following year Y/n found herself attending award shows for the first time. Winning Best Supporting Actress in an Action Movie, Best Scene Stealer, Best Duo with Robert Downey Jr. and Best Breakthrough Actress at the MTV Movie Awards. She also won her category for the Kids Choice and Teen Choice Awards.

Before long her agent was blowing up her phone. Iron-Man 2, 3 and The Avengers were already accounted for and Y/n wanted to lengthy her filmography to prevent being typecast. Obviously she loved Superhero/Action movies, but she desired to be a versatile actress. Countless auditions, but Y/n soon became a staple name in the early 2010s with performances in Tron: Legacy, Black Swan, Insidious, Grown Ups, Contagion, teaming up again with RDJ and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes. Then in 2012-2014 Y/n added Men In Black 3, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Enemy, The Hunger Games: Mockinjay and Interstellar to her list. Working with amazing directors and popular franchises pushed her into international stardom. Plus making lifetime collaborations.

Oh, and can’t forget being nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars and Golden Globes. Winning the latter and making Y/n one of Hollywood's most desired acts. Now whenever she appears in a project, the Golden Globe Winner precedes her name.

And Mickey was there every step of the way. He was living his dream of working in aviation, completing OTS and flight school to become a weapons-specialist officer in the Navy. The backseater to the pilot, but just as important. Y/n was beyond proud. Thinking of all those times Mickey randomly gave plane facts or begged her to go to the air show in high school. Anytime she traveled and saw a figurine of a plane he was missing from his collection she got it. Luckily the Navy kept him on the west coast. Making it easier to see each other during her days away from set. He loved his job. And Y/n loved him.

Maintaining a relationship while in high-demand careers was no easy task. Especially when one’s a movie star and the other goes on classified missions for the government. Add on the fact they wanted to keep their private life a secret to prevent media scrutiny. Y/n worried in the beginning Mickey would view it negatively. Not posting about him on social media or bringing him to premiers and award shows. Like he was some dirty secret. But Mickey, the wonderful man he is, never was bothered. In fact he liked the idea.

They talked consistently, sometimes everyday unless they were occupied with work. Y/n kept him updated on every audition. Sharing the excitement with him each role she landed and comforted by his voice when rejected. And while he didn’t go to the premieres, Mickey was at every opening weekend for her movies. Dragging his friends along each time. It’s no surprise he earned the callsign Fanboy for his endless passion for movies. Specifically the superhero ones. While drunk the first weekend in flight school he gave the entire lore of the current MCU projects. To anyone he would just be labeled a superfan. Unaware of the true reason behind his love for the MCU.

The mid-to-late 2010s did not disappoint. Y/n’s contract for the MCU extended as Jordyn Stark became a prominent figure in the franchise. And with her strong chemistry and bonds, Y/n collaborated with several of her Marvel co-stars in projects outside of the MCU. Jeremy Renner in Arrival, working with Denis Villenueve again starring in his Enemy and Sicario. Brie Larson in Room, Tom Hiddleston in Crimson Peak. Both of whom, with Samuel L. Jackson, starred in Kong: Skull Island with Y/n. She worked with Tessa Tompson in Annihilation--who would go on to cite inspiration from Y/n’s performance in MIB when she joined the franchise in 2019. Then after working with him in Men in Black 3, Y/n teamed up alongside Josh Brolin in Sicario, Deadpool 2, and eventually parts 1 & 2 of Denis’ adaptation of Dune.

“Oh she’s one of my favorite people to work with,” Josh said during the press tour for Endgame after the interviewer mentioned all the times the two collaborated. “I had first seen her in Freedom Writers back in 2007 and thought she was just spectacular. Then of course in Iron Man, what can I say,” he shrugged while beaming, “It’s because of her and Downey that we have the MCU in the first place. They really set it in motion and to capture that feeling of, ‘this is going to be something’ so early on is incredible.” Josh crossed his legs, grinning wide as he added, “I love working with Y/n, I’ll say yes to any project if she’s attached and I’m excited for this next thing we got going with Denis after this.”

Besides movies Y/n continued to land jobs on shows whenever she was back in L.A. Tanya, her agent with an iron fist, booked her guest appearances on The Good Place, Black Mirror, Hannible, and The Americans. Her gig on Daredevil stirred major discourse in the Marvel community. Especially after it was announced years later the MCU would be buying the rights to the Netflix Marvel productions. In 2017 she had a recurring role as part-time companion to the 12th Doctor on Doctor Who. Becoming a fan favorite, the actress was constantly asked by fans and reporters if she had plans to return for the upcoming 60th Anniversary special. Y/n enjoyed her time in England and met up with several friends. Christopher Nolen, in fact, had called her up with the offer of a role in his upcoming work, Tenet.

How could she pass that up?

2019 from the start was going to be an interesting year for the actress. At the height of her career Y/n felt the train was non-stopping. Traveling around the world. Press tours and interviews. Finding time to decompress was a task in itself. In between projects Y/n visited Mickey at his base in Northern California. Just like old times they’d go to the movies together. Only in disguise to hide from fans and the paparazzi. Sometimes they’d see her movies--usually at Mickey’s request, but Y/n always felt weird watching herself on screen. She’d think after over fifteen years in the industry she’d be used to it, but nevertheless she’d tend to think, ‘I could’ve done that better,’ with every scene.

By September of that year Y/n was gearing up for a major project with longtime friend and collaborator, Denis Villenueve. Endgame had taken over the globe, concluding 10 years of buildup between characters and storylines. Tears upon tears were shed at the premiere. Unsure of what Marvel had planned for Jordyn Stark, Y/n prepared for the next chapter in her career. On top of Endgame she’d been in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women and the rom-com, Isn’t It Romantic. She’d signed on for a three-picture deal with Deadpool, but now he was also going to join the MCU, so the future of her character was in question. Ryan, however, assured her she’d remain in the universe, already texting plans of potential dialogue and jokes.

Then there were countless interviews and promos.

“Hi, I’m Y/n L/n!” her excited tone was directed to the camera, sitting criss crossed on a pastel purple fabric that lifted into the backdrop. “And I’m here with Buzzfeed to answer some questions sent in from Twitter and play with puppies.” She rubbed her hands together, “Bring them in!”

Dream come true if she were being honest. Surrounded by tiny four-legged creatures that caused her heart to sour. Answering the questions was actually the difficult part, pulling the slips of paper from the bowl and reading aloud, ‘What has been your favorite role to play?’

“This is probably obvious,” her laugh was light and genuine, “but it has to be the one, the only, the absolute icon herself, Miss. Jordyn M. Stark.” Y/n visibly awed as a beagle pup climbed into her lap. “Anyone who knew me growing up--.” she instantly thinks of Mickey, smile widening, “knows my love for superheroes and comics in general. I was always at the movies opening weekend, sometimes even opening night, to watch the newest release. Getting to play Jordyn Stark has been an absolute dream come true. Not only has it fulfilled a longtime aspiration of wanting to play a superhero, but it’s opened the door to so many opportunities,” she points out the obvious, “she put me on the map. It’s crazy to think it’s been over a decade since I brought Jordyn to life on the big screen and until Marvel lets me know what’s next for her, it’s a bittersweet end to an amazing chapter in my life.”

‘What’s been the most challenging part of your career?’

Y/n thinks for a moment, petting the husky pup biting her shoelaces, “I think having to migrate from what my life was like before booking Jordyn--which is ironic considering that’s what every actor's goal is. To get that big break that shoots them into stardom if you say…” her hands move to emphasize her point. “Going from a freshman in college working a part-time job at a hotel and getting tiny gigs on L.A productions,” she lifts her left hand up, then her right, “to the train never reaching its stop…it was a big shift. I definitely was the type of actor calling up co-stars with questions like, ‘is it always like this?’” she ends it with a chuckle, “I think I managed it well, but I still think about it from time to time.”

‘Favorite actor/actresses to work with?’

She doesn’t hesitate, “Downey of course, that’s my ride or die. His name on my phone is literally, ‘Work Father/Iron Dad’.” She laughs with the crew, “And Josh Brolin--love that man so much. I’ll actually be seeing him soon and I’m excited to catch up.” A pup barks for attention and Y/n lifts him in her arms, “I love working with Tessa Tompson. She and I got close on set during Avengers and I gave her advice on joining the Men In Black family. If there’s one actress I’d love to work with again it would be Viola Davis.” Y/n clutches a hand to her chest, “We had to do so many scenes over because I could not stop staring at her in awe and would miss my cue or forget my line. Ah! I was so embarrassed--but she was great about it and I freakin’ love her. I really really adore Keanu Reeves--in fact,” a wink is sent to the camera, “I might actually have some exciting news to share soon regarding a certain action franchise he’s in.” Seconds after the interview was released Twitter was buzzing. Excited about the potential of Y/n joining the John Wick series.

‘Is there another superhero, or possibly villain, you’d be interested in playing on the big screen?’

“Ooo I like this question,” Y/n grins, clapping a bit only to have the puppy in her lap playfully take a bite at her fingers. “As I mentioned I love comic books, so any chance to play a character in one I’m taking. If I had to choose….” she scratches her chin before smirking, “Poison Ivy is one of my favorites from DC--if I were to play her alongside Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn I think that would be so iconic. I’d love to play a villian/anti-hero in general,” she shrugs nonchalantly. “ The closest I got to playing one was Shock in Daredevil. Every other character in a superhero setting I’ve done has been heroes. There’s so many villains in X-Men I think are intriguing--Dark Phoenix, Fatale, and Copycat. But for sure Poison Ivy is my top choice.”

‘Do you have any advice on romance?’

The question fills Y/n with heat, giggling under her breath which the camera catches. “I don’t think I’m the best to answer this question, because when it comes to romance I just wing it--,” her hands raise in defense, “which had worked to my advantage.” The topic of relationships was rare for Y/n. No surprise there since she’s been known to keep her private life private her entire career. Not to mention she’d been with Mickey for half her life. “My partner on the other hand is very romantic. He loves to plan dates, surprise me with my favorite candy, and will send memes at the most random times of the day because they remind him of me. He’s not in the industry,” she is quick to point out, giving viewers a first time look of her personal life, “but he knows a lot and is my biggest supporter. I love him dearly.”

The video went viral on twitter and, as expected, people had a lot to comment on the clip of Y/n’s love life.

In the weeks leading to fall Y/n made plans to read Dune at Denis’ request. Had auditions lined up for Succession, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and The School for Good & Evil. And desperately needed time with her fiance. The two recently engaged following their 30th birthday.

Technically they were legally married under California’s common law. They’d been together since 16 and while no rings were on their fingers, they had assets. Including cars, apartments, and dogs. Still they wanted a wedding and proper marriage documents. Both agreed to sign each other's prenup. A scene almost comical when they approached both their lawyers, who along with their families and Y/n’s agent knew of their relationship.

Admittedly, the engagement was a result of upcoming events. Ever since Mickey informed her of his orders to return to Top Gun for a classified mission Y/n had been stressed. Thoughts plagued her mind of the dangers Mickey could face. Not just the mission but the training itself. She’d heard of incidents of technical malfunctions in the air that led to someone’s death. The thought of Mickey hurt or worse, dead, in the line of duty was her worst nightmare. And since she was not his wife, medical professionals were required to not share any information of his status if he were admitted.

So before he shipped out, they did what the typical military couple does on a time crunch: they went to the courthouse.

Did Y/n’s publicist bribe and threaten to sue the official if TMZ got word? Only God bore witness to that interaction.

By the grace of a higher spirit Mickey came home to her. They had little to no contact while he was off shore so the second he called her up saying he was back in Fightertown Y/n was packing a bag. Speeding down the next morning.

Their time together was private, and unbeknownst to both it would be the last. In a sense that is.

Because they pulled off the impossible, Mickey and the rest of the Dagger Squad were declared an official strike squad for the Pentagon, basing the team at Fightertown. A good thing for the couple. Now instead of a four-hour drive it was cut down to just over two hours.

“How long will you be gone?” He brushed his fingers down the length of her arm, the two cuddled on the couch watching The Bachelorette.

“A few months,” was her reply, nibbling on a twizzler. Sighing, she nuzzled against his touch, not wanting to think about the long flight to Budapest ahead of her. She’d planned to use that time to read Dune before her first day on set. “Maybe less if all goes well. How long will you be offshore?” Y/n referred to his pending mission with the Dagger Squad. She felt him shrug against her.

“I’d say no more than a couple weeks. Rooster is team leader and Mav’s supervisor. It’ll be a piece of cake.”

Tilting her head up to look at him, Y/n smiled, “I want to meet your friends. They sound like great people.”

“They are,” Mickey grinned, matching her gaze, “You’d love them--but I have to warn you they can be a handful. Especially Javy.” He laughed as the memory popped in his head, “It’s amazing we can get stuff done at times.”

Y/n thought for a moment, laying her head back on his shoulder, “Maybe when I get back we can talk about going public. What do you think?” her tone was nervous, butterflies in her stomach for his reaction. This was the first time in a while the idea of disclosing their relationship came up. And considering they were now legally married, keeping it secret was harder by the day.

Mickey tightened his hold around her, pressing a kiss to her temple. It made her instantly relax, “Whatever you want, mi amor.” He smiled at her sigh of relief, “You know I won’t object--so long as you’re sure about it.”

“I am,” she doesn’t hesitate, “we’ve kept it hidden for so long--which I’m amazed by with all the times we’ve gone out.” The fact her disguises worked made her laugh any time she thought about it. “Everyone at Marvel pretty much had their suspicions that I was in a serious relationship. Never said anything, which I’m grateful for. But I want to share you with the world,” leaning back up, Y/n cups his cheek, stroking his jaw followed by a sweet kiss to the lips, “because you are my world.”

If only there was a camera secretly concealed in Mickey’s apartment the day his closest friends discovered the secret he’d been harboring. It happened unexpectedly, completely taking them both off guard.

Wanting to surprise Mickey after months away filming, Y/n arrived in San Diego with their favorite take out in hand and headed straight to his apartment. As she was taking the items from her car she noticed a man with a very large camera across the street.

Pointing the lens straight at her.

“Fuck,” was the first word out of her mouth, beginning to grab things in a rush.

“Y/n! Y/n over here!”

Preparing herself, Y/n put on a brave face and turned on her heel. “Hello!” she smiled and waved, seeing the pap had moved closer but still kept his distance. “All I ask is please don’t take photos of my license plate, if you don’t mind.” Running into paparazzi while driving her own car always brought fear. Many celebrities had unfortunately dealt with fans showing up to their homes due to their license plate being leaked. Y/n tried her best to prevent that whenever she could.

Thankfully the gentleman was nice, waving a hand in return. “No problem!” He continued snapping pictures as she walked, following behind several paces. When she got inside, without her usual disguise because she was in a rush, Y/n caught the stunned expression of the doorman and receptionist. ‘Cat’s out of the bag.’

Ruffling for her key once in the elevator, Y/n shot a quick text to her agent and publicist, ‘sooooo we might have a problem…although it's not the worst if we’re being real.’ Quickly putting her phone back in her bag to not see the incoming replies--to spare herself the stress--Y/n hurried to the apartment. Not even giving Mickey a warning before she busted inside only to shock herself with the discovery of people inside.

“Oh my,” she said aloud, hearing the sound of someone dropping their phone followed by several gasps and a ‘what the fuck?’.

Mickey, however, was jumping from his seat, “Baby!” he shouted in glee, rushing to encompass her in a massive bear hug. Completely oblivious to the fact his friend's jaw dropping reactions behind him. “When did you get it? Just now? I thought you were coming on Monday!”

Wrapping her arms around him, Y/n remembers why she was there in the first place. “I wanted to surprise you,” lips meet her cheek. “I brought Sambino’s.”

Mickey moans like he just won the lottery, cupping her face, “You are a living angel. How did I get so lucky?”

Smirking, Y/n hands him the bag as they untangle and replies, “You didn’t make fun of me for being the only girl in our third grade class who liked comics.” She scrunches her nose when he ‘boops’ it, followed by a quick kiss to the lips.

By now the group taking up the entire living room had stood up, congregating in the kitchen. All wore matching expressions: flabbergasted, awe, and pure confusion. The man closest to Mickey who towered over everyone spoke first.

“Garcia,” Payback choked out a laugh, wrapping his head around the fact he just witnessed his partner kiss THE Y/n L/n. His hand waved in their direction, “When you said you and your highschool sweetheart preferred to keep a low profile…her being the actress you’re obsessed over was not at all what I had in mind.”

Jake scoffed, “speak for yourself, I thought he was bullshitting us about having a high-school sweetheart,” at Mickey’s look of offense he raised his hands in defense, “What? You hardly ever spoke of her and quite frankly--” hands wave around the place, “you have no pictures whatsoever.”

“Oh I do,” The WSO winds an arm over Y/n’s shoulder, to which she leans into. “Just they’re in photo albums and kept in a safe place. Away from prying eyes.” A playful smack hits his chest, Y/n rolling her eyes.

“I’m sorry,” Javy cuts in with a confused chuckle. “Are we just going to ignore the fact we’re in the presence of an A-list actress--who is dating our Fanboy.”

Bob gives a friendly smile, “that makes sense why he’s always talking about the MCU and seems to know the direction it’s going before we do.” The fellow WSO then adds after chucking, “it’s because you’re really a big fan of Y/n.”

Rooster belts out a laugh, “Yo that’s kinda ironic. Fanboy dating his celebrity crush he never shuts up about. I couldn’t have predicted that at all.”

“Dating is putting it lightly,” Y/n finally speaks up, face full of amusement. Placing a hand on Mickey’s chest, their attention instantly goes to the ring on her finger.

“Well shit,” Jake whistles, causing Nat to nudge him with her elbow, though she matched his stunned expression.

“Damn, Garcia!” Javy goes to dab him up. Reuben does the same while saying, “Congrats man!”

“I know we may look like we’re calm,” Natasha chuckles, catching Y/n’s attention which makes her become nervous. “But I think I can confidently say for all of us we're freaking out inside--at least I know I am.” the pilot blushes, stunned to be talking to one of her favorite actresses of all time. The previous night she literally sat down to watch How to Get Away With Murder. Particularly the season Y/n was a recurring character on.

The squad knew Mickey grew up in the same town as Y/n after he mentioned the high school he attended in Orange County. It had been the first time they hung out at his apartment where they saw his entire collection--and pretty much shrine--dedicated to his favorite franchises. Following Jake’s comment of Mickey’s little ‘crush’, the WSO casually said, “Yeah, you can say that. We actually went to high school together.” This was then followed by Mickey whipping out his sophomore year book to show proof. Ever since the squad was envious and sometimes tried to ask questions but were brushed off.

But to discover the two were married? Now that was unexpected.

Once everyone departed after several hours of giving detailed accounts of their lives--plus mentioning to Mickey a Pap had spotted her and the likelihood of the internet discovering their relationship--,Y/n let out a heavy breath, unable to fight the grin off her face. Giggling when Mickey gave her a look of ‘What did you think?’ “That was fun--Ah!.” A squeal escaped her as he picked her up, spinning them in a circle.

“Been wanting to do that since you walked through the door,” he brought her into a passionate kiss, setting her down but keeping their chests pressed together.

“Why didn’t you?” she teased, kissing him again while combing her fingers through his short hair. A blush rose on his cheeks.

“Wasn’t sure if you’d be okay with it.”

“I wouldn’t have minded,” she spoke with honesty, “but I understand. We were both surprised. I wasn’t expecting an audience--probably should’ve sent you a heads up.” Mickey shrugged, swaying them side to side.

“Honestly I’m glad you didn’t,” a light laugh escaped him, picturing his friends' faces once again. “If there was one way I was going to break the news to the squad that I'm married to the woman I keep dragging them to the movies to see, it would be like that.”

Y/n broke into giggles, thinking to all those times Mickey sent her photos of him and his friends in the theater with captions like, ‘You already know what’s going down.’ ‘Jake and Javy are trying to bet who would pull you if they got the chance.’ ‘Wish you were here…so I could steal your sour patch kids.’

“Which, speaking of….” Mickey stepped back a bit, hands landing on her waist with eyes full of wonder and question. “How do you think we go from here? Now that the whole world is about to know about us?”

Y/n smiled brightly as she pictured the future. Moving her arms to wind around his neck, feeling her belly fill with warmth and happiness.

“I think….it’s time we plan that wedding.”

E! News reported that evening, “It looks like Bruce Wayne isn’t the only superhero who’s good at hiding information--tonight Golden Globe winning actress Y/n L/n has confirmed via Instagram her marriage to longtime partner, Naval Weapons Officer Lieutenant Mickey Garcia. Turns out the two have been in a relationship since they were teenagers--sixteen to be exact! They officially became a couple in 2005 as juniors in high school and have kept it hidden from the limelight. Wow! Talk about a well kept secret.

“The news came following reports of Y/n spotted in San Diego several times outside of Garcia’s apartment complex. Photos then surfaced on Twitter of several occurrences where fans have speculated seeing the two in public. Cozying up at movie theaters, enjoying a weekend getaway to Hilton Head, and internet sleuths have even found an instagram account they believe is run by L/n strictly for close friends and family. Former classmates of the 30-year-old actress have come out saying they remember the two together like peas in a pod. We even have a photo someone shared of the young couple attending their high school prom. Y/n revealed in the summer of 2019 she’d been in a committed relationship, but has never given details until now.

“Y/n L/n first got her big break in Hollywood at eighteen years old when she was casted as heroine Jordyn Stark opposite Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man. After years of small supporting roles and starring in popular commercials, the now critically acclaimed actress has appeared in several blockbuster films including Black Swan, Interstellar, La La Land and most recently Greta Gerwig’s Little Women. Besides Marvel, Y/n has been part of multi-billion dollar franchises--Men In Black, The Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games just to name a few. Coming down from the high of Marvel Studios record breaking release of Avengers: Endgame, Y/n recently wrapped on the upcoming sci-fi production of Dune--her fourth collaboration with Denis and has an ensemble cast with names like Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Fergason, and Josh Brolin.

“In her instagram post--featuring several photographs of the couple over the years starting from when they were children to the most recent of their courthouse ceremony--Y/n thanked Mickey for his continued love and support of her, remaining her quote “cheerleader and shoulder to cry on as I progressed through this wild journey of playing dress up on the big screen. You never lost faith in me. You stood by my side, first as my best friend, then as my boyfriend, and now as my life partner. I am forever grateful for you, Mickey Garcia. Can I just say how much I appreciate the diversity of ace identities in ISAT and all the detail about it?

(spoilers ahoy)

I love how at first Sif sees the porn scroll as "people doing fun things" but later admits it doesn't interest them at all. Their first response is to say what they know they're "supposed" to think it is, what everyone else is probably going to think it is. But then they learn that it's really ok to admit that they're not into it.

At first Sif is like "why does Beau like me?" but after a while they start to find him cute because they understand the emotion behind his feelings, and while they're not sure if they can actually take it as far as a sexual relationship, they're interested in figuring it out, because for them, that doesn't gross them out, it's just not a drive. This is so relatable to me and I love seeing it bc it's not the typical ace in fiction where like, this character is ace so we mustn't put them in a ship because we should assume it'd gross them out. Sif can be ace but not entirely horrified by sex, and Sif may be romantic (I don't know if even Sif knows whether they are romantic or not)-- I suspect they are demiromantic because it's the intimacy and familiarity of Beau's emotions that makes them start to feel things about the moment by the tree, to the point where they miss it when he doesn't try.

Mirabelle going through the dating service papers is the most wonderful scene because this is what it was like to be ace when I was in my early twenties. Most people didn't know it was a thing, and friends/family were very helpfully concerned that you should find a partner in order to not be alone, because the theory was that it was a basic human need for everyone. I did exactly what Mirabelle did, and had the same kind of reaction: "I have to pick one of these people to try dating because I have to figure out how to be sexually interested in someone so that I can do the whole partnership thing that everyone says you need to do in order to have a fulfilling adult life." Looking at pictures of people trying to figure out how to be attracted to them, or what you like, when the answer is really that you're just Not. And you're kind of torn because some part of you knows that this isn't going to work, but the other part of you legit believes that it's like staying hydrated, you have to do it for your own good even if you're not thirsty.

Mirabelle's being into fictional romance and shipping, just not into doing it herself, is also such a good detail. I'm not aro so I can't speak to that myself, but still, it's a thing. She's emotionally invested in the dynamics between people, she loves watching the details of how they play out, and that's completely separate from ever wanting to do it herself. I've seen it in others and I definitely get that from the perspective of an ace person reading smut-- you can very much enjoy a dynamic without wanting to BE in the dynamic yourself.

Sif coming to understand how attraction works from the outside: "Wait, you can't choose who you get a crush on? That explains so much!" The line made me wince because it's so self-deprecating-- they're probably thinking they're not good enough for Beau-- but I also very much appreciate the realism of how... nobody explains to you how attraction works because they assume you know what it's like, and you probably don't ask because it's embarrassing if they assume that you're an immature late bloomer with no experience of the world, rather than someone who will never have a libido no matter what they've seen. It's so easy to feel infantilized or to infantilize yourself if you're not comfortable with your ace identity. Both Mirabelle and Sif are young enough that they struggle a bit with whether this is really their identity or whether they've just not figured it out yet. In reality, at their age, this probably IS who they are. But they're also a bit hesitant to rule it out because it's really hard to know that you are NOT something, and (given that Mirabelle hadn't really considered the possibility that she's aroace) the culture doesn't seem to have a lot of representation or support for the idea. It's obvious to the player, well, if this is how they feel, then they're ace! But neither one of them can quite settle on that for sure. Because, unlike being attracted to someone where you can go "well that sure did happen", being not attracted to someone is a nonproof. So Mirabelle keeps trying, and Sif doesn't know that their reaction will seem valid to others (as evidenced by the change in how they describe the scroll). Odile, who is aro and who seems to be not entirely ace but isn't exactly the thirstiest plant in the garden, has a different position. She seems to pretty much know where she's at, which makes sense for her age, but we can't really tell if she's always been okay with it or if it's been an issue. We don't know if Ka Bu is a more uptight culture, or how long society has been normalizing non-hetero identities, but we do know she had no female role models, so if any of this heteronormative business was an issue, I imagine it contributed a lot to her feeling of outsiderness. I'd love to know more about how Odile's sexuality impacted her life but she's obviously not about to infodump it on a bunch of 20 year olds, so it remains a mystery. Nonetheless it's pretty great that there's an older aro character, illustrating that people have always been this way, it's just easier for young people to discover it now because they feel more allowed to not be heterosexual. [eta: @butterflyknifepoisoning reminded me that I've misremembered this and Odile isn't actually aro, she's had hatecrushes before and explained them to Mirabelle. Which I kind of sort of remember now! Not sure why I thought she was aro, my memory is crap sometimes. It's still a far cry from yamato nadeshiko, but yeah. Point taken]

...In the end, I find it extremely refreshing that there's a whole RPG party here and only ONE of them experiences sexual attraction, and it's a flamboyant gay-seeming dude with a poorly-kept-secret crush on an enby they/he. ISAT is so cool, it's the best aroace representation I have seen in fiction so far ever.

there's so many things i love about the twst anthology manga. it's honestly more fun to me as a fan of the game than the regular manga is, because as much as i love seeing how they adapt the scenes from the game and the little things they add (like getting to see baby riddle, trey, and chenya hanging out 🥺), the anthology is essentially like... extra vignettes, in manga form. some chapters are expansions of the vignettes from the game, but most of it is totally new, and sometimes it provides really neat bits of character exploration?

like, in one of my favorite chapters from the first volume. actually, i'm mainly only posting this as an excuse to talk about this chapter, "a blessing on our unbirthday":

in that chapter, riddle has been so worried about trying not to crack down as hard on rule violations that he ends up exhausted because he lost sleep over it! he says he's worried that that tendency of his might be ingrained in him for good, and it just breaks my heart thinking about how he so deeply wants to break the cycle and shed the excessive strictness and perfectionism that his mother instilled in him, but it's so hard. it's hard to have your worldview challenged so suddenly, to realize overnight that you've been doing things so wrong for such a long time and that all you can do now is try your best to change and improve. it's hard to know that you've hurt people when you never meant to, when you genuinely thought what you were doing was right. it must be especially hard when you're just a teenager who was doing what your parents have been teaching you to do since you were a small child. of course riddle is losing sleep.

but while he's walking through the hallway, thinking about how exhausted he is and how worried he still is, ace shows up. they banter a bit, but then ace very quickly realizes that riddle isn't feeling well and picks up on the fact that he's pushing himself too hard. he tells riddle to slow down and relax, and hilariously tries to manipulate him into deciding to hold an unbirthday party by going on about how maybe they should just have one without him and break a ton of rules while he's not there.

this makes riddle angry, of course, and results in him mentally beating himself up for almost losing his temper. :( but what ace is trying to do works! riddle instinctively gets riled up at his words, angrily reprimands him a bit, and nearly uses his unique magic on him... but ace cuts him off mid-sentence, which throws him off so that he doesn't use it. and then, in his inner thoughts, while he is panicking and sweating and getting upset with himself, he's also managed to stop before he made a big mistake, and now has a chance to reflect and acknowledge that mistake. he knows that it would've been irrational and wrong of him to collar ace just for saying that he might break a few rules.

and all of that is already really important and shows a lot of growth on his part! but then ace responds by telling him he's being too hard on himself and that it's okay to take small steps instead of trying to completely change right away, and riddle is instantly relieved and settles on trying to make everything perfect for the party. before, when ace first proposed the idea, he'd seemed uninterested and like he didn't realize just how badly he needed to take his mind off things. but this time he listens, and understands that ace just might be right, and the story ends on a very fun and sweet note.

and it's just so good. riddle has such great dynamics with each of his dormmates, and i love seeing how his relationship with ace has grown. i really hate when people get mad at ace for demanding a tart and a party at the end of book 1, because riddle treated ace in particular horribly and needed to be held accountable for it. he really could've asked for far more from riddle or still not forgiven him considering that riddle, like, actually could have killed him while overblotted. and i also really hate when people characterize riddle as still being constantly angry after book 1, and/or don't acknowledge everything he did at the end of book 1 to try and apologize for his actions and make an effort to change. he's one of the only overblotters to actually verbally apologize, and i should also add that he did what ace asked of him without question... and had a good time with it, because he likes tarts and parties! i think it's notable how at the end of book 1, riddle had literally just expressed that he had wanted to eat the tart ace made for him and hang out with his friends, so ace basically asked him to do exactly that along with having to do the hard work that would be involved in it.

and now, they're genuine friends. they've allowed themselves to start over with a clean slate, and in this anthology chapter we see that ace can comfort riddle and have fun with him without holding the past against him, and once again is helping him out of a rough spot by convincing him to have a party. i just love it, i love what this chapter says about riddle and what it says about him and ace. i really hope we get a third volume of the anthology someday, with group art of the third years on it since the first two volumes have the first and second years on them:

Serious question, but how do you think Andrew being taller-tall would affect plot and in what way. I always have hard time seeing him as this steady image of safety mainly because of his size.

I am an Andrew lover first and foremost so I accept him in every shape and size he may come in xd

Okay, but seriously now. I think him being taller would've definitely altered some points of the plot. The first thing that comes to mind is his relationship with Neil. Neil from the get-go makes us aware that due to his father's abuse, he is scared of not only older but taller men. They read as a threat. If Andrew was a big guy and had not the puppy dog personality of Matt, Neil would probably have a much harder time trusting him or opening up to him. Their relationship might've gone differently. All of Andrew's actions would've been interpreted with distrust, as they are anyway at the start, but the root would be in a much deeper fear.

I also think that's crucial for Andrews character. He is, as you said, seen by us as the image of safety - but that's Neil's opinion. that's how he sees him. Most people look down on him, only those who are keenly aware danger is not always about brute strenght don't make fun of the red flag he comes waving around in every situation. Neil or Riko aren't tall either, so they know what kind of things he can still be capable of without the proper moral limitations. Kevin, Jean and Renee will know that to, due to their experiences.

Still, most people don't see him as a threat, or as strong, the size is a point of ridicule but also a point of tactical advantage for him. If they don't take you seriously they don't see you coming for them, do they? Add the label of "psychotic" which is also thrown around in contempt, on the edge if being a slur by some characters and there you go. He's not seen as strong, he's seen as a train running of the tracks, about to crash in a nearby town.

There are only a few that know better, as it usually is in life, which, proper advantage. I would say the only reason Andrew was on parole with the requirement for medication after he almost killed those 4 guys who attacked Nicky before the first book happens - instead of being locked up for it instead - was due to his size. If he was a big guy he would be treated much more harshly, especially with his previous criminal record.

Another thing this point brings up is how I read a couple posts in the past, where people thought it improbable that Drake managed to get Andrew concussed and at his mercy so easily in the Thangsgiving scene, since Andrew is supposed to be so strong. (This isn't criticism, im just giving my own outview)

Be that as it may, size does matter. Andrew is strong and dangerous for many, and he could best probably most of the people reading this in a fight no sweat. But you know what's the reason for that? He's prepared. He actually knows how to fight. There are scenes in canon and ec If im not mistaken, that bring it up. I've been trained in martial arts since I was 4 years old (on G-d no cap) and I can, and did, manage to take down many guys twice my size and strenght because of that - but that's because I was smarter, or quicker, or my technique and endurance was better. Andrew spars, Andrew has training while most people don't. Just because a guy is twice his size doesn't mean he actually knows how to use his body weight to land a solid punch, doesn't mean he has the instinct and proper form to block a fist coming at his side thats gonna push all air out of his lungs. So yeah, against people less trained than him, he has a chance.

Tw: discussion of the thanksgiving scene, psychological trauma, ambush situations.

But Drake is a marine. He has extensive training, worse - he has the tactical advantage of surprising him, and worst of all - the force of trauma that comes with being suddenly attacked by one of your worst fkn horrors. It's a ambush and he has every single ace up his sleeve. I've been in a situation like that once, so I can imagine the complete and utter short-circuit Andrew's brain must have gone in in those precious seconds that would give him an even chance against Drake. But then, Drake is as much a physical as psychological horror, and it's no wonder the fear that brings make Andrew spiral into dissociation as a coping mechanism.

End of the triggering stuff!

In the end, though, safety in my opinion is about more than physical strenght. Sometimes it's just having someone by your side even if there's no chance of making it to the other side. That type of support can make anyone keep going. And I think that more than anything else is what Neil sees him as. He is, to make it cliché, the lighthouse bringing him to the safety of shore in a midnight storm. (I will shut up now bcs the fever must be getting worse if im saying shit like this).

or. oh god stop stripping the show of it's themes no please no it needs those, stopppp

actually making this post now bc i'm sick of people claiming anything remotely sexual or even kissing happening to the party (an opinion that often pops up in the context of byler) in s5 would be horrible, sexualising, or out of character for the show

ST has always had a realistic approach to kids growing into their sexualities. the show's never shied away from directly addressing sex and sexual feelings so i'm honestly amazed by the extremely puritan interpretation of the show. i'm assuming, in good faith, that a big part of it is coming from people not having seen the actual show in ages and are just forgetting how explicitly the show handles sexuality. instead of just assuming it's from culturally raised christian people, who feel uncomfortable seeing any portrayal of sexuality, no matter how tasteful or realistic

i'm also saying all this as an ace person myself, i get not being into sex and not wanting to see it. however, refusing to acknowledge entire themes of a fictional show just because i don't experience them is bizarre to me. sexuality is vitally important to a lot of the characters and isn't just there to be fun(gross). essentially, ST is the opposite of porn without plot

so just as a little reminder what's actually IN Stranger Things. canonically.

TLDR: the show has never shied away from explicitly addressing sexuality. buying into the puritan fanon version of the show is going to make your s5 viewing experience worse because that show doesn't exist

season 1

we're starting the show off with Stancy, which is very sexually charged in general. (even in s4 Nancy still experiences physical attraction to Steve despite them having unchanged compatibility) the plot surrounding them in s1 explicitly focuses on Nancy having sex with Steve and later regretting that choice. the scene that everyone remembers, is of course, the "explicit" (not really, because ST is really tasteful with how it shows these teens explore themselves) sex scene

they're in sophomore and junior year of highschool here. around 15 and 16 years old - yet the show doesn't shy away from letting them figure things out. and it's not like this sexual theme is contained in only that scene. it keeps coming back the whole season as Nancy tries to sort her feelings out and deals with the aftermath of that night

also sidenote here while still at Steve and his party: even Steve's friends are very casual with their sexualities. and yes, they can even explicitly mention sex and specific sexual acts, no holding back here

Nancy's character conflict in s1 very much hinges on her sexuality and sexual themes. and it's not like there is a magic you need to be at least this old rule to know what sex is on the show like so many people seem to believe, because even 12 year old Mike seems to very much know what his sister and Steve are up to. he even goes out of his way to use it against her

iconic line! but i've seen insane takes trying to spin this into something not alluding to something sexual. i'm sorry to say if he doesn't think they're full on having sex he at least thinks they're getting very intimate with each other regardless

so not even the youngest characters on the show are "innocent and pure" the way fandom likes to claim when it comes to sexuality. and of course they aren't. real 12 year olds know what sex is, they're young not oblivious

and the following seasons make that even more obvious

season 2

as of s2 the kids are getting more involved with the sexual jokes, not just making them about other people but even being directly involved with those themes themselves. which is also realistic. with 13 sexuality starts to get thrown your way by every possible form of media. lots of them start developing crushes, have no idea how relationships work, etc. it's messy, typical teens thrown into the dating game. (i say all of this from a developmental media psychology perspective thanks uni and not personal experience sorry lmao, i'm a bit too ace to have my own input here)

s2 features comedic and awkward mentions of sex(ual activity) towards Lucas and Max,

older peers giving their 13 year old friends well meant advice on how relationships work,

and has even younger characters play around with attraction/kissing/love as well, which is incredibly normal for kids to do at that age

they're all young and the show treats growing up realistically. while the theme of attraction or sexuality gets more relevant for them (in scenes that are often received with awkwardness by the characters themselves) the show offers them safe territory to stand on. none of them are directly confronted with sexuality and are instead offered people to seek advice from for example

meanwhile the sexuality theme for the older kids is still very much explicit. just as Nancy's arc is still heavily tied to her romance and sexuality (which ties into her non conformity themes - she's an ambition driven person trying to escape the culdesac life first and foremost)

not only do we get another sex scene (this time with a cut away), there's also explicit jokes about it after

sexuality on the show is continuously awkward and messy. Jonathan and Nancy are only 16-17 here - no one really knows what they're doing or what the right way to go ahead is and Jonathan rightfully almost does a spittake here. out of pocket Murray

sexuality. is. awkward. (we get is s2 thanks)

season 3

s3 gets even more explicit with it's awkward puberty sexuality themes

from Dustin talking about how much he likes kissing Suzie (and her liking him not having teeth for it?) which weirds Steve out to the repeating, awkwardly received, "happy screams joke" (which gets a callback in later scene)

sexuality is still awkward for them. it's a realistic approach to what 14 year olds act like and know. they're actively dating by now, they're kissing people And have messy relationship situations. all while still acknowledging knowing what sex and attraction is, duh, of course they know that. but i'm explicitly pointing it out because i see obscene amounts of people claiming the characters are completely sheltered and even implying that they know what sex is would be gross. to that i say, do you not remember being 14???

and while i'm at s3, also let it be mentioned that even the adults are suffering at the hands of the sexuality theme here. Hopper's hookups with random women are focused on in s1, but now that he's getting closer with Joyce they get very explicitly told to just have sex. literally

not putting the whole dialogue in here, i already have too many images because there's so many sex mentions in this show and he really just tells them their mating ritual is painful and they should tear their clothes off and fuck right now

season 4

and s4 has stopped just confronting the kids with the existence of sexuality, but is tentatively starting to explore mature themes more directly - which allows them to tentatively start exploring their own sexualities instead of just having to acknowledge the general concept of sexuality

Max gets to ogle shirtless Steve

Lucas has something under his bed that's never confirmed as anything except "100/10 gross" but had 90% of the audience i saw immediately assume something sexual (magazines or the like)

and has a bunch more direct nudges, from the kids "experimenting sexually" as Murray says

to Argyle explicitly telling Jonathan he needs to have sex with Nancy again

to Hopper and Joyce's escalating make out in a church while shirtless

to visual innuendos (i'm looking at you hose scene. this one wouldn't be such a big deal if there wasn't a genuine moral panic about it last year. which was crazy. people literally had to pretend the scene didn't exist to escape the witchhunting mobs, except instead of being killed for magic it'd be for looking at a canon scene and acknowledging it. crazy times - aside from that there's also more visuals you can take as innuendos in s4e1 which there's already posts about out there so i'm not getting into them here, i'm more focused on the overt textual references)

to Yuir extensively talking about pleasing women and making them cum (I'm sparing you from that, the sc in at the top was already enough)

to explicit graffities all over the place, like here as an example "give me head until i'm dead" which is in frame for the whole phone call and Steve talking about his bitchlesness. and is also some of the only easily legible text (i hope this is readable, most of my screenshots kind of died a bit so maybe you need to look at an actual clip to see the text)

that is aside from the "DRUGS" poster which touches on another point s4 makes. the show doesn't just explore sexuality, it also puts the kids into more mature situations in general (not talking about the deaths, this is a horror show), specifically drugs

Jonathan uses weed as a coping mechanism the whole season and Eddie even sells the stuff in full bags (insane weed selling practices btw, even i know that). Chrissy (17-18) wants to do weed and ketamine. and we also see Lucas (14) hungover after drinking at a party for the first time

the show does not shy away from portraying realistic teen experiences

Murray called s4 very well, the kids pound some bears, smoke some ganja, play nintendo, and experiment sexually

literally. you have drinking, weed, and confusing queer sexualities. they took this list step by step

and all of those pretty normal things teens tend to explore. and i say that as someone who was decidedly not into those things. the ace experience is a bit different, but i can still acknowledge how that period was like for my allo friends and people in general

there is an extreme push in this fandom to reject any form of sexual jokes or references in the show, made mostly by people being uncomfortable with portrayals of sexuality. however, the themes not only still exist, they're also very prominent throughout all 4 seasons and are important to a lot of the characters directly

and it's also noteworthy here to see how ST approaches it's sexuality theme. it grows with the characters. starting out as jokes and being received with awkwardness to slowly letting them figure things out on their own time and turns. an extremely realistic progression and very common for coming of age narratives such as ST. it's a far cry from shows exploring sexuality or sexual themes for the sake of the viewers enjoyment like Euph0ria (don't want it to show up in tags)

based on what we currently know s5 could very well be taking place in 1988 or later which would place the party at around 16-17 years old. going into the season with the fanon version of the show that is completely clean and non sexual will 100% set you up for disaster

ST is very realistic and non exploitative with it's exploration of teen sexuality so there is obviously nothing to worry about in the sexualization department, that's just puritan fear mongering. however, it's very likely that we're going to get more than holding hands or pecks on the lips from the characters that are now older than characters we've explicitly seen hook up before. there could be more intimate scenes or making out, yes. but there's also at least one basically guaranteed vulgar joke in there, all seasons have them

there's no real theorizing or speculation about s5 here, anything could happen and i'm not placing bets, i want the characters narratives to be wrapped up well first and foremost and trust the writers to do it well. however, going into s5 with some of the mindsets i've seen circulating on here and expecting the show to be "clean" and cater to a version of it that's never existed outside of purified fandom could genuinely make you feel blindsided by the shows canon themes

not targeted at anyone or anything specifically, just using this as a bit of a reality check of what the show is actually like after recently rewatching all of it in one go

- Azul can be described as a greedy, manipulative, and intelligent individual who uses logical reasoning and sometimes solid ‘evidence’ to succeed, whether it be his business or his education.

- At least on the outside.

- On the inside is an insecure, isolated, and paranoid little octopus that when cornered, just can’t help but slowly become unable to contain the facade he worked on for years.

- Now imagine this sad lil’ octopus as a yandere

- I mean yes, the manipulative and intelligent nature of Azul are probably the main reasons as to why he’s one of the more terrifying yanderes in the TWST cast.

- But it’s because of him being very self-conscious of everything, as well as years of being isolated from his peers at a young age, Azul can be very much a clingy type as well. Especially to ones he cherishes the most.

- Which is unfortunately you! :D

- At first, Azul thought nothing of you

- Only seeing you as a pawn for his own selfish gain.

- But as Book 3 progressed and the on-going reports from the Leech twins, Azul can’t help but become curious of your character, dear prefect.

- Why do you care so much about those 3 fools? You haven’t even known them for a year and yet here you are! Sacrificing your well-being to save them.

- It sickens him.

- The thought of your selflessness makes him sick to his stomach.

- But despite that, he starts to think about you more.

- And begins to imagines

- What if he was the one you were going all out for?

- The one you were taking care of?

- The thought of that shell-shocked him for a bit.

- He shook it off and proceeded to his planning once more.

- Once everything ended with Azul’s overblot, you decided to personally talk to him.

- Telling him that you also went through some of the same issues that he had as well.

- Pointing out your flaws, outwards and inwards.

- It’s just you trying to show Azul that he wasn’t alone when it came to these problems. That’s he’s not the only one who’s worked so hard to cover up their past in order to move on.

- To say that Azul was shocked was an understatement.

- In fact he didn’t really say anything while you were talking to him.

- All he did was listen to you.

- And for the first time

- He felt that he wasn’t being made fun of or mocked.

- It was…comforting.

- Azul is clingy.

- Be it in his human form or his octopus form.

- During the museum scene in Book 3 (when the gang looked at the field trip photo), you couldn’t help but hug him after seeing lil’ smol and chubby Azul.

- He looked soo cute and cuddly!!

- Bby Azul!!

- He was in shocked

- He couldn’t move

- But didn’t try to leave your embrace.

- He just stood still.

- He didn’t understand

- For the first time in a while, he felt at peace.

- But at the same time, his heart was starting to beat uncontrollably and his breathing was becoming heavy.

- Ace was weirded out.

- Deuce had no idea what was going on .

- Grim was hungry.

- Jack wanted to leave.

- Floyd and Jade were snickering in the background while this unfolded

- Azul was fuming out of embarrassment when he heard them snicker.

- It was at this point where Azul fell in love with you.

- So ever since then, he secretly longs for your company.

- Walking beside you

- Asking if you’re in needs of favours that only he can fix for you

- If you give him a hug, that man will hold onto you for a while.

- He doesn't even realize it until you mention it to him.

- Even if you’re in the Monstro Lounge, as long as he knows you’re somewhere in the same vicinity as him, he’s at peace for a bit.

“Ah! D-dear Prefect! I didn’t even notice you’ve arrived at the lounge. W-well I know! I know that I wasn’t in the lounge when you came in, I was in my office working on our marriage contract— I mean—! Contacts for fellow peers who need some assistance. And— Floyd! Jade! I can hear your mocking from here! Stop it!”

- Speaking of Floyd and Jade,

- They very much enjoy having you around the lounge.

- Or just when you’re around in general.

- You provide so much entertainment for them, it’s amusing to watch.

- Especially if Azul is around.

- They haven’t seen Azul like that since he was a lil octopus.

- But, like Azul, they also grown fond of you.

- Not like that tho

- Like a sibling

- A lil Shrimpy for them to protect and play with!

- As they grow more fond of you, they start to see you as a pitiful and defenceless Shrimpy.

- Despite you saving them from Azul’s blot form but oh well—

- They have to protect you!!

- So don’t try to run away from them

- It’s pretty much useless at this point.

“Hey hey, Shirmpy~ Let’s play together!! You know it’s useless struggling! Especially since you’re soo puny~ *Giggles* C’mon! I promise that if you stay good, I’ll squeeze you less tight than usual~”

“Fu fu fu~ Floyd please be gentle. You don’t want to scare them more than they already are. Dear prefect, don't be alarmed. We simply want to spend a little quality time with you before Azul orders us to bring you to the lounge.”

- Despite Azul being a very cunning and manipulative individual, he’s also very self-conscious.

- Azul puts these precautions and restrictions on you because he’s scared that you’ll leave.

- He’s paranoid that you’ll just run off and find another person that’s better than him.

- He’s always been casted aside for almost all his life.

- That’s why he made sure to cover up all of his past self.

- He doesn’t want to be that ‘octo-twerp’ anymore.

- He doesn’t want you to think of him as that twerp he was years ago.

- He doesn’t want you, the person he loves so much, to see him like that.

- Even with all the reassurance from you.

- Believe it or not, Azul takes your opinions of him in high regards

- Meaning if he finds out about something you don’t like about him (beside the obvious problematic traits he has), he would make sure to change, if not conceal them, in order for you to stay happy with him.

- As long as you’re happy, he’s happy.

- He just doesn’t want you to leave him, is that so hard to ask for?

- So please just stay

- For the sake of his own being entirely.

- And if you don’t?

- Hoo boy—

- You thought Azul was bad during the 3rd book with his contracts?

- It’s gets worst

- Especially since it’s business mixed with love.

- Let’s get this outta the way, this man will search high and low for any flaw or problem you have.

- He’ll find anything and I mean anything.

- Whether it be you’re struggling with (school, education, etc) or something you did.

- If he can’t find worthy material, he’ll just make up something believable. Then will exaggerate that shit till you can't even defend yourself.

- He will find a way, he'll find something to use against you.

- And once he has all of the information he needs to trap help you, all he has to do is call in one (or both if you’re slippery lmao) of the tweel twins to ‘kindly escort’ you to his office!

- This is Azul we’re talking about. He’s always ready to lend a hand to a fellow peer in need.

- And it’s totally out of the kindness of his 3 pure and selfless hearts.

- What a saint.

- Whatever problem Azul decides to blackmail you with, the only way for him to solve it is for you is to give your unconditional love and devotion to him.

- You could possibly get kicked out of Night Raven.

- Even if you could threaten Azul with fraudulence (if the accusations he presented were false), there’s nothing that Floyd and Jade can’t do when needing to silence someone.

- And both are glad to do so if you’re planning to leave them.

“My dear Prefect! Why are you looking so downcast? Is it because of what I said? Oh, don’t worry! If anything happens to you, it will be alright as long as you sign this contract I have provided before you. You don’t want to? Then hopefully you don’t mind Floyd and Jade kindly convincing you to do so? I promise you, prefect, you’ll be fine with me as long as you do what I say.
