What brush do you use for your illustrations? I adore the loose/sketchy ink style you have, and I you’re definitely one of my art inspirations. Thank you! 💖💫

Obviously the tools don’t make the artist, but I get what you want. 😜

I mostly use a free pen brush I downloaded from the clip studio paint store.

Technical pen, with some minor tweaks to it. ( it’s meant to mimic the technical pen you get in Procrate. I use that one when I’m working there too.)

You can also use G-pen. That one is already installed. Technical pen just gets less opaque when the lines get thin.

Then I just make him a little sensitive to pen pressure, cause I like the brush pen effect and various thick lines.

It makes everything look like a Franco Belgian comic, or newspaper comic, or whatever else my art style looks like. 😜

But it’s this part of an illustration by Gennady Spirin for Yakov and the Seven Thieves. (written by Madonna, WHAT???)

I couldn’t find the whole painting, but it doesn’t matter cause it’s specifically this big, dark haired, red dude. I just found myself staring at him a lot when I was a kid. Just cause he looked so peaceful and beautiful!💖 I’m not religious but THIS just does something to me. I think I almost cried once! And if that isn’t good art then I don’t know WHAT IS!

I absolutely have other, more in-character art I find scrumptious, but this is what most easily popped up in my head.😜

It’s nothing special really, I was just seeing a lot of people re-designing the characters and felt a lot of it was coming from a place of anger.

Not all of it obviously, but there’s just a lot of bad-faith takes and hate just for the sake of hating.

So I was just finding a way to fuck around with the character design, in a way that didn’t feel like I was trying to create a “better version” of the show.

So: Dreamcore AU! Hazbin hotel is just a weird dream you had! Where a porcelain clown/goat devil was wandering around this weird place. She met a taxidermy deer that wanted to start a podcast with her, but she wasn’t into it. Then he kept following her around and they meet more weird people.

Just fun stuff like that. 😜
