ever since max started bringing you to the paddock, rumors started spreading quickly through the grid. they all noticed the longing glances you two shared. daniel's pointed it out ot you multiple times in the past week. same thing with alex and lando towards max.

"max, you realize you haven't stopped looking at y/n since you guys got here?" lando stated to the dutchman, in which he only grumbled and walked away.

whenever you all were out during the weekends, they still noticed.

alex and logan were deep in a conversation about which soda was the best, when logan turned his head at the sight of max and y/n. max had his arm wrapped around the girl, while they were talking in a small group. of course the williams drivers were quick to tell the other drivers.

at the paddock the following week, charles and carlos may or may not have been spying on y/n and max from outside the redbull garage. the ferrari drivers watch how close max and y/n stand, with max's fingertips tracing lightly over her arm. from a bystander's point of view, anyone would say the duo has heart eyes. "and they still say they're just friends." carlos mumbles under his breath.

lando and oscar were sitting side by side against the wall of the mclaren garage. all of the drivers were waiting for free practice to start, and were wasting time in different ways.

"so who's coming to the team party this weekend?" lando can't keep track of his emails, so he can't help but ask oscar.

"obviously all of the drivers, and i'd think whatever girlfriends are able to come," oscar replies.

lando starts listing off the girlfriends, ending on y/n. oscar continues with the conversation, until max comes up towards the mclaren drivers.

"what were you saying about y/n?" max asked, his tone laced with nothing but curiosity.

lando and oscar just laughed, this wasn't the first time max got distracted by y/n's name alone.

sometime last week lewis, max, carlos and george were talking while walking into the paddock together. george was on a tangent about why wet wheels were the best invention on the planet, but max's head turned as soon as someone walking by mentioned y/n. he felt his cheeks flush slightly, and he couldn't help but feel saddened when his girlfriend wasn't around.

. . .♡ the causal flirting turning into something else because you start to have feelings for them running into their arms after being away for too long.

you knew max was the type of friend to use physical affection. it was his go-to when he was congratulating someone, or giving someone a quick side hug when he thought they were upset.

it wasn't out of the ordinary for max to be hugging you right now. well– hugging might not be the right word. he was crushing your ribs while spinning you around after getting told he was world champion yet again.

once he took his helmet and balaclava iff he couldn't help but kiss your cheek, which caused a pink shade to adorn your face.

moments like this only occured more. max was most likely by your side whenever you were around, and vice versa with you. max constantly kissed your cheek, but you thought nothing of it besides an add to your friendship. the constant flirting didn't go unnoticed by the other drivers and even some team managers. christian couldn't help but notice how close you and max have gotten in the past weeks, physically and emotionally.

once you had to leave max and the other drivers because your job required you back home in england, you felt like you lost your other half. it's been weeks since you last saw max. you missed him. you missed his smile, and his laugh, and the way his hand ran through your hair perfectly. you were quick to realize what these sudden feelings meant.

when you got off the plane in bahrain, for the final grand prix of the season, your anxiousness skyrocketed. you were planning on kissing max. for real this time. and you needed to tell him how you felt. you haven't told anyone, not even your own mother.

minutes felt like hours, as you watched max pull into the first place spot, securing yet another world chamption title under his belt. your smile grew as he got out of the car. his eyes only bulged once he realized you were at the front of the red bull crew. he ran to you, muttering dutch under his breath in astonishment and in unbelief. your arms wrapped around him, as his did to you, and you never wanted to let him go. "i love you," you whisper, not thinking he hears your words. less than two seconds later, he whispers the same three words in his native language.

max couldn't stop kissing the tip of your nose. you don't even remember how the tradition came about. maybe once after a race? or it could've started during one of your many mornings in a hotel room. however it may have started, you definitely didn't want it to stop.

you thought it was the sweetest thing. it showed he still cared and adored you, but yet was still miniscule. you've returned the favor a few times, all of them catching him by surprise. once after he cooked you breakfast, again before he had to get ready for a race, and lastly just as you two woke up after a night you'd never dare to forget.

I saw some writing advice from Roald Dahl and one of the items was this:

You should be able to write well. By that I mean you should be able to make a scene come alive in a readers mind. Not everybody has this ability. It’s a gift, and you either have it or you don't.

I don’t think it’s a matter of inborn talent at all. Language is LEARNED. If you can feel it, you can learn to express it. We can’t all be insert your favorite author here, but we can learn to express ourselves in a way that is satisfying to us.

If you feel like you struggle bringing a scene to life, here are some things to try:

1. Read a lot. Not just one thing. Read lots of things. Fiction. Non fiction. Old books. New books. Writers of different nationalities, native languages, writing styles, backgrounds. Not just fanfic, not just books published by the big five. Read poetry, it uses language in completely different ways. Don’t like poetry? I’ll bet there’s a poet somewhere you’re going to love.

2. Talk to writers you trust about how they do what they do. Most writers here on tumblr are glad to share their methods and thought processes. Send a nice ask and see what you get. Find friends (not via tumblr asks—try discord or a writers’ group) who write in a way you love and ask for their feedback. It’s common in fanfic feedback not to provide deep constructive criticism. Ask for it. Talk through the scenes you’re not happy with and break them down together.

3. Look at articles and tips on active sentence structure. Try to move toward active language. There’s lots of specific ‘how to write better’ advice, I won’t cover that here.

4. Practice. Still life descriptions are a good way to do this. Describe one thing, one person, and really dig in.

5. Write for fun. Maybe journal. Not for anyone else, just for you. Free associate. Find weird, fun turns of phrase. Describe things using words that start with P. Play. Getting better takes effort, but it should still be fun. Every exercise should be enjoyable.

6. Ignore unsolicited criticism. You cannot please everyone. You shouldn’t! We’re all different, looking for different things. If some people like it and some don’t, congratulations! You’re doing it just right! It’s one thing to take advice from people you trust and whose writing you like. It’s another entirely to try to please a troll.

7. Keep writing. ❤️❤️❤️

I’m very new to the whole agere thing, but after looking into it a little i feel like I’ve been kind of subconsciously doing it? like I said, I didnt really do any research, I’ve been honestly very very shy about bringing it up anywhere.

Whenever my mental health worsens, I end up feeling so.. small? Like I want to just curl up and make myself so small and disappear. Your absolutely making sense and you are not alone at all!

The official term of what you are describing is "impure regression" it's regression that is caused by / causes negative emotions.

I personally don't like the term "impure regression", I usually call it "sad-" or "upset regression" but I wanted to give you the official term, so you can find others who share your experience more easily!

I also have to deal with upset regression quite a lot, it's mainly caused by stress for me aswell.

The AgeRe community has this issue (like most online communities) that it often tries to only show the happy times. All positivity and smiles and playing. But regression can be messy. It can be upsetting and scary. It can feel debilitating.

Just know that you are not broken. You aren't "doing regression wrong" and it's not your fault you feel this way!!

Regression is a form of therapy and can be a trauma response, those things aren't meant to be "just happy". They exist to help you process and work through your feelings, all your feelings. That also means the negative ones.

Fandomry tips on hcs.

I've met another user that was afraid to share their cool Maria story ideas out of fear that they'll get shunned as "hating masculine lesbians", so, just a few things:

1) No matter how popular a headcanon is, it doesn't become canon. Fandoms do not abide by majority rule in which you could never have an unpopular idea.

2) With LGBT+ headcanons, the less you justify them - the better. The rude minority might think that Maria "has" to be a lesbian because her hunter outfit resembles male Knight garb and she cares about a female friend, and everyone who disagrees "lack media literacy" and "has bias". What is it trying to say? That bi or straight women could not look masculine? That the only reason a woman would ever dress masculine is to be the 'man' for her femme? Or that women could not care about other women deeply unless they're attracted to them? Even "historical accuracy" excuse is obsolete, because Bloodborne clearly doesn't abide by real world's history Victorian antics. Female vicars/doctors/hunters and people of color being equal to white people is a dead give-away to that.

It is even more confusing with Malenia, who doesn't even look masculine. Not feminine, either. She looks like 'just a person'. So what makes her "canonically a lesbian"? The fact that she is a strong fearsome warrior? Why? Because bi or straight women would not fight but instead latch onto some guy to protect them...?

You see what I mean. Justifications for why an interpretation HAS to be one thing and not the other only make things worse and push people into very narrow, at times outright offensive stereotypes. 'She is this because I think so' is a good enough reason - and that's where you can see that someone else's thoughts will be JUST as valid!

3) Headcanons and fandomry are not activism. No minority will be effected just because in some fandom people ship some character in some ship. EVER. These things are for FUN, lesbians aren't fairies within which one dies every time you say "I don't headcanon X character as a lesbian". What do you think will happen if many, or even majority of people like bi (or even straight) headcanon instead of lesbian? A life essence of a whole demographics will be dried out?

4) "It is not that hard" is not an argument. It is never anyone's business why someone would deny a very inviting opportunity for a headcanon. Freedom and autonomy is the VERY base of having fun in the fandom. In fact, very often, it is this same toxic attitude what makes average users NOT want to celebrate a strong female character as a lesbian. Because they feel like they had no choice! And many people possess contradictory spirit, that might make them choose something as affirmation that they won't be mocked into thinking a certain way.

Honestly, it is NOT okay that here and there people have to feel afraid to do something as innocent as to share their ideas, and might just end up leaving an interesting character aside because loud and rude people scared them away. Do not let a character you like get "claimed" by some group just because they were the meanest, do not hide your awesome ideas but instead post them and TAG them. Fandoms are free spaces, not a middle school where the popular girls set the trends and decide who gets to be bullied.

And if some people can no longer enjoy a fandom or a character because other people got a different headcanon? Well, then they were not built to be in fandom spaces to begin with.

The anti endos in my life irl and online are kind of really mean?

I want to have a pro endo account but I'm scared of being harassed, fakeclaimed, etc. A lot (not everyone) of the people who are anti endo are so aggressive, and I'm not in a state where I can really receive that.

gah, memory issues so we can’t recall what post exactly you’re referring to, sorry.

here are our tips for running a pro-endo account, or some sort of account where all system origins are accepted. it got kind of long and heavy, so we’re putting it under a cut.

1) when you first set up the blog, before you’ve made any post at all, go through some of the anti-endo tags and block those users from your new side blog. some tags to trawl/search through are “#anti endo,” “#endos fuck off,” “#endos aren’t real” and “#endos are trash.” just a heads up, you may see some violent, harmful, or potentially triggering posts in those tags. if you have the energy and capabilities for it, preemptively blocking a lot of users may save you some pain and difficulties down the line.

2) you may very well be harassed or fakeclaimed by running this account. we have been fakeclaimed by others on this blog, and have had users block evade, follow us to our personal accounts, and try to purposefully trigger us. it’s been rough, but this is one of the risks of running an inclusive blog online. some things to keep in mind:

- you can block any user who sends you anonymous asks. just hit the three dots at the top right of the ask page and hit “block anonymous.”

- having anonymous asks turned off entirely could greatly reduce the potential for you to receive hate and unkind messages. personally we like to leave anons on since lots of folks prefer to send asks anonymously, but if you’re worried or nervous, you can definitely turn them off.

- delete any negative comments on your posts as soon as you notice them, and block the users who make them from your side blog. we do this to help keep our posts positive.

- if any asker threatens to dox you, sends you gore or purposefully triggering content, won’t leave you alone, or is block evading, report them to tumblr. we have had to do this before, and tumblr’s been pretty good about banning genuinely harmful or dangerous users.

3) don’t pick fights, don’t cross post into anti-endo tags, and leave anti-endos alone. we only use anti-endo tags if we are tagging a post that mentions them for filtering purposes. if you refrain from engaging with those who you don’t want interacting with you, you’re much less likely to face harassment, in our experience.

4) try to remember that everyone posting on tumblr, regardless of whether or not they are pro-endo, is a person or human being. when someone fakeclaims you or sends you hate, it is probably coming from a place of insecurity and low self-esteem. they may be lashing out as a trauma response, or they may be having difficulties regulating their emotions. none of these things are an excuse or good reason to be an asshole to others, but it is something worth keeping in mind.

when we are fakeclaimed, it is more a poor reflection on the fakeclaimers than it is on who we are as a person or system. you know yourself and your system more than anyone else online, so when you are fakeclaimed, try to just chuckle with your headmates about it, let it roll off your shoulders, and block the user.

I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE A VEGAHEAD NOW.... He got me in his claws as soon as I saw him... The vega army grows stronger...

His siblinghood with Cammy (and also Decapre) is so very special to me. You can check out this post first for some stuff I said about them that I'll extrapolate on here. RAMBLE TIME.

Vega and Cammy are very similar and share several traits and I think a lot of it has to do with him having to train and take care of her and the other Dolls. It makes me so very insane that Vega is generally portrayed as this cold and uncaring murder guy who only loves himself, and yet...

Please look at these dialogues from Alpha 3. HE CARES ABOUT HER SO MUCH. IT HURTS. There's so much here. He wants her to be safe. He cares about the girl he took care of so much that he calls M. BISON A COWARD. Bison could kill Vega by looking at him and yet he stands up to him for the sake of someone else's safety. I rambled about their relationship and his feelings towards her more in a text to my gf I'm too lazy to rewrite:

Btw yes I am making a drawing about the braids. They hold so much symbolism TO ME. The braids he did for her... One of the few remaining things connecting them.... It means a lot to him, and you can see how much it means to him in A Shadow Falls:

While she's passed out he just stops to pick up one of her braids and his eyes immediately soften. And then he leaves without really doing anything because he sees that Cammy wants to protect Decapre, who she knows is her sister. He doesn't try to kill Cammy or anyone she loves. Every time he fights her he just sees her as a worthy foe (in the Alpha 3 dialogue up there he later changes his mind about Cammy not being a good opponent as he rescues her from the Shadaloo base). And later in A Shadow Falls when Cammy and Decapre are fighting the other Dolls, he goes against Shadaloo's ideals and frees the Dolls from the Psycho Power controlling them. At the end of the story he throws away his mask. Vega is not heartless... He has kindness and compassion... He has sweetie powers.... He just doesn't want you to know that because he hasn't been allowed to have emotions for so long... He's just stuck working for people he hates. Every time Bison isn't a direct threat to him he just goes back to Bullfighting. He doesn't care about those guys at all and the only thing truly keeping him is probably the fact Bison or another Shadaloo member would show up at his home and kill him if he quit. I think he wishes he could have the same freedom Cammy has... He's proud of her for breaking the cycle of being used as a tool by Bison and wishes he could be afforded the same luxury...

They all even pose the same way... There's a couple pieces of art where theyre posing this way and they share some similar moves too.... The parallels... They compel me....

I don't know if Cammy will ever piece together that Vega is her weird questionably evil possibly clone-related big brother. Decapre is much more similar to him visually and maybe that will tip her off. But for now all of her past growing up in House of Bison is known only to Vega and the fleeting memories kill him every day. He may feel particularly closer to Cammy but he stills shows care and compassion for Decapre too. He loves his sisters so very much and thus....

Saw some mentions of Furby prices spiking n wanted to share some tips that have helped + may help others lookin for furbs!

1. Check out "smaller" sale sites like Mercari / etc.! (Tried searching "furby" on Mercari and screenshot the results below - it brought up a ton of good deals ((including w/ shipping costs, some even being free shipping!)) and some awesome OOAK finds!) - Just be sure you're buying from a confirmed / well-rated seller regardless of which site you use!

2. Try searching misspellings + 'I'm not sure what this is' terms like "furbt", "forby", "furbie", "animatronic toy", "owl toy", "vintage 90s toy", "retro talking toy", etc.! (Not all sellers spell their listings right / know furbies by name!)

3. Check for "Lots" (ie: "vintage 90s lot" / "furby lot" / etc.) - some sellers sell furbs in pairs / sets / bulk this way!

4. If you use a site that allows search notifications (like Mercari's saved searches), use them! You may snag some awesome deals that way when a new listing is posted!

5. Check here on Tumblr or other socials like Instagram / Etsy / etc. for people selling furbies individually or in lota as well - especially if you're looking for OOAKs / oddbodies / etc.!

After my rant in the tags of my last reblog, I want to share some tips I've gathered while navigating caffeine with a heart condition, that could potentially help someone. Plus some other caffeine safety that I learned from my cardiologist:

1. JUST BECAUSE A BOTTLE DOESN'T HAVE THE CAFFEINE CONTENT LISTED ON IT DOESN'T MEAN IT DOESN'T HAVE CAFFEINE!! The unlisted caffeine content doesn't just apply to fountain drinks. Companies are not legally required to label bottles/cans/food of their caffeine content, only as an ingredient in the products. I myself have gotten super sick because of this. Caffeine Informer is a good site to look up caffeine content for drinks, especially if you can't find it on the label.

2. Say something happens and you drink way too much caffeine, drink LOTS of water to flush your system, get something to eat, and sit/lay down. Keep an eye on your heart rate and blood pressure, get medical attention if possible. Caffeine has an average half life of 5 hours so it may take some time before you feel better.

3. If you are going to drink a caffeinated drink, drink water beforehand so you don't end up chugging your drink and accidentally give yourself a caffeine overload.

4. To go in hand with the last point, eat something too. Preferably something high in carbs or fat to slow down how fast your stomach absorbs the caffeine. This is where you hear of people putting butter and other oils/fats in their coffee.

5. This may be common sense to some but If you drink caffeine while taking medications such as beta blockers or other anxiety/blood pressure lowering medication, you will render your medicine useless. Your medication will not cancel out the caffeine. Always check if caffeine interacts with any medications you take.

It's upsetting that some of this needs to be said, I wish proper caffeine content labeling was something we didn't have to ask for. If anyone has anything else to add to this, feel free to do so. it's late as I'm writing this so I'm definitely slipping on a few things.

I feel really embarrassed about asking this but...

How do you write smut without feeling really embarrassed about it

thank you for asking this!! first of all, i am embarrassed about it, so so so embarrassed, let me make that clear 🙈 every time i click publish, i'm like

but it's a small fandom, someone has to do it. and it's kinda fun once you get used to it. being able to write it has been... idk, freeing? it's allowed me to explore facets of these characters that i haven't felt comfy exploring on main before. and i feel like a whole slew of creative opportunities have opened up, and i feel a little braver attempting to try them out. once i got comfortable with it i kinda feel a little unstoppable now ngl.

while i'm by no means an expert on writing smut (absolutely not an expert asdlkfh), here are a couple tips that have helped me feel braver and might help you do the same:

this isn't a very productive piece of advice, but when i first published explicit smut i just kinda.... turned my brain off and blacked out until i was done typing lol. like i just drafted something from beginning to end without stopping, because if i slowed down or stopped in the middle and started thinking about how embarrassing this was i would never finish it. i still do this tbh. getting over this little mental embarrassment is the first and most important step, everything else follows.

read smut. i know everyone has different tastes and stuff, but exposing yourself to the language used helps sort of desensitize you in a way.

imitate what you like to read. as a continuation of the previous point: read smut, yes, but read smut you like. what about it is good and memorable to you? take note of the way it's written, how explicit it is, the language used, etc. don't like copy it word for word, but just pay attention to the style and start asking yourself why you like it.

like with any creative hobby: practice! write bad drafts!! write stuff that will never see the light of day!! the more you practice, the more comfy you'll get writing things you want to share.

remember that whatever you write will find the right audience. folks want to read it! and they are very happy you typed it out and published it for free!!

sometimes i start wondering if what i'm writing is Cringe, because the only thing more mortifying than writing smut for a niche fandom is writing bad smut for a niche fandom, but someone once said that what excites you as a writer most likely excites your readers, too. lean into that.

also. if you start thinking what you write is Bad or Cringe, just remember. jj abrams and a whole table of Professional people decided to make a star wars sequel trilogy without even bothering to write an outline first. the bar is literally on the floor. <3

How to Finish Your 1st Draft (underrated tips!)

Hey y’all :) Thought I’d revisit this topic because I have been writing later drafts and revision for the last 2 years—the last time I first-drafted was literally in 2020. I started first-drafting again late last year, and am still doing so this year.

I’m still rediscovering my plotting/plantsing process, and thought that a refresher would help me, too. I hope you find this post somewhat useful (and that these tips aren’t just for delusional people like me)!

1. Find your dedication

The dedication is so, SO underrated—many people think of it as just something you slap on after you’re finished the book, but I like to see it as also one more reason why you’re writing it.

Maybe you wrote a book featuring a found family group of kids from slums because you yourself grew up in those conditions, or you know/sympathize with people who did. Making sure that readers facing a similar situation will feel uplifted when they experience your book could be something that motivates you to finish.

For example, my working dedication for my current WIP goes something like this:

To anyone who has yearned for more and failed—all the part-idealist, part-pragmatist, ambitious, “average” kids who will “never amount to anything more,” I’m betting on you. Keep burning those dreams for fuel. Cling onto them whenever you feel like you will become anything but great. Until you stop betting on yourself, it’s not over.

As someone whose often struggled to fulfil my own visions, despite having a grand plan for my own future, I—like anyone else—have encountered lots of obstacles and learned to survive on my own. We’ve all learned resilience.

This dedication reminds me who I’m writing for: myself, and anyone else who identifies with it. I hope that my book can inspire readers on the cusp of giving up. I hope this book can provide readers on their sigma male grindset with a thrilling rush that spurs them on even more.

Whenever I feel unmotivated, this is where I go. And, for the most part, it works!

(Of course, you can treat your dedication as a “work” of its own. Feel free to keep revising it and editing it until you’re happy with it)

2. Look at fan art

It can’t just be me who looks at fan art and gets inspired by specific poses or scenes and then adds those scenes into my book. Come on.

Pretty straightforward. Just search up “fan art for _____,” fan art for a specific fandom you’re into, or even “character scene/pose ideas” on Google or Pinterest.

Personally, I like doing this more than browsing those “book idea” posts that are followed with actual text explaining the idea—looking at art with little to no text can force you to do the work in describing the scene, pose, or character expression.

These scenes tend to help you be specific, creating memorable scenes for your readers. Examples of inspiration I’ve taken from fanart is:

A firework kiss scene

“I got your back!” type trope, where two or more characters fight back to back. IN THE RAIN!

Gunfights!

One character running away while slinging the other across their shoulder

Characters having fun at a festival while wearing flower garlands

When you’re writing, this can motivate you to get to X scene faster, or to finish your book faster so readers can see your characters doing X thing. At least, works for me!

3. Find ONE specific writing buddy

Yes, the writing community is GREAT. But, it can feel a bit detached if you’re always only sharing progress with your large group of followers, instead of someone who knows your WIP inside out.

Find one person or a small group of specific people. Tell each other EVERYTHING about your WIPs. This will feel a lot more personal, and specificity can also help you finish your book faster when they tell you to “finish writing this chapter to get to this scene!”, or when they hold you accountable to a group writing goal.

You can also all form a group chat with daily progress motivation and trackers. Personally, NaNoWriMo forums are great for finding people to just overshare your WIP with and motivate each other.

This way, you guys could also peer review your works periodically. Having another set of eyes on your draft—even when it’s not finished—could give you lots of ideas and guidance on plot direction, characterization, prose, etc.

4. Braindump while listening to a song / playlist

Write to the vibes. Literally just that.

Are there any songs/playlists that really resonate with you or your WIP? Just play it, maybe even on loop, and type ANY ideas from prose to dialogue to scene ideas and themes.

It could literally just look something like this (there is some purposefully bad writing just for this example):

Listening to: [title of your song or playlist]

A: Never thought I’d see you again. B: I know you missed me. *sneer* (Dialogue snippet)

omg they bump into each other on the street and she spills her beer on him and her best friend senses the chemistry (Scene idea)

rivals to lovers (Trope idea)

SILK DRESS. FANCY CLOTHES. YES. (Character design idea)

overcoming your greatest fear!!!!! (Theme idea)

It’s that easy. You got this, soldier.

You don’t need to ask, Ace is already at your side, immediately swooping you into his lap or ‘subtly’ nudging you for cuddles but spinning it to sound like he needs em more than you do

He’s good at running from those icky feelings, he’s done it his entirely life - though he wouldn’t want you to bottle up what was making you upset forever, Ace is a natural at taking your mind off stressors in the meantime and just having fun

He’d shoot you a cheeky little smirk while you were tucked by his side and you’d immediately know what he was up to

Ace making mischief was nothing new, whether it was with the Spade pirates or on the deck of the Moby Dick - it’s the express way he’d look to see if you were enjoying yourself, keeping closer by even with his less dangerous stunts, or how he seemed like more of a goofball than usual

That’s what tips your peers off to something being potentially wrong, but they leave it to Ace to handle internal affairs, you boys’ cleanup duty isn’t going to be any less severe depending on the amount of trouble you two cause, however, no matter how much Ace whines

Ace’s favorite wind-down activity is just sitting up somewhere high and watching the stars with you, your head nestled comfortably on his chest while Ace has an arm around your waist and goes on and on about the same old stories, about his lovely boyfriend, too

They’re mostly about his childhood with him and Sabo, and also largely about Luffy, but you’d listen to them no matter how many times Ace repeated himself - you still tease him about it though to watch freckled cheeks turn a brilliant shade of red, even with his tan covering most of it in Ace’s favor

Marco

Marco’s methods are a lot less destructive, thank the lord for that

He’d see you not being yourself, likely out of stress or upset, out of the corner of his eye and make plans to rectify that behind the scenes, pulling double-time on his work to make sure he’d be free enough

With his responsibilities settled for the time being and Pops giving the okay for him to take some time off, Marco takes you on a nice day out on the town

He has a whole itinerary of shit to do (all very laid back, but there’s a list no less) - a short walk through town for a breather, some window shopping, sharing a drink or two if you’re out after 5pm, and then dinner, Thatch’s courtesy, in a little gazebo on the island Pop’s docked at

Everyone stays out of the way or so help him god Marco threatened not to heal them the next time they were in trouble

If you weren’t feeling right enough to go out, though? Well, shit- It’s not ideal, but Marco can work with this

A day cooped in his office isn’t too shabby now either, is it?

He’d sit you in his lap while he worked away at his desk, pen in one hand and the other snugly around your midsection, taking breaks every now and again to coo against your ear and squeeze cute giggles out of his adorable boyfriend

When you feel yourself getting a little stiff from the position, the doc prescribes lunch and a little afternoon nap for the both of you, tucked away comfortably in his quarters with no one daring to bother you for hours

Barring maybe Ace, who has the audacity to crawl in next to you, kiss both his boyfriends on the cheek in an overtly obnoxious way, and pass out against your back, arms around you just as Marco had before - smelling like today’s menu

Hey hey all

first of all thanks for the likes on my last post lol didn’t think anyone was gonna see it lmao. anyway day 1 of pre-fasting complete. I ate a little bit too much today but I did a bunch of workouts and did like 30 straight minutes of nonstop burpees and ended up being around 111.8 lbs at the end of the day which is less than I expected so YAYY

tomorrow is my first day of fasting and I’m planning on as of now to just drink a low cal protein drink before my workout and not eat anything else. If anyone has any tips on fasting and such please feel free to share lol

anyway I’ll prolly update tmr or at some point because I have nothing else to do <3

Things I learned while navigating the workforce

Hi everyone! I got a couple of questions the other day from @boujeeceo regarding staying focused working from home, getting noticed by management and executives and also how I network! This is from my personal experience and if anyone else has any additional tips please feel free to share! 🤗

Working from home

Desk station

It’s superrr important that you have an area that is functional and comfortable. You need to be able to produce at the same level as you would in the office without sacrificing your comfort level. You can’t really focus if you are sitting at your breakfast bar on a hard bar stool for 8 hours a day staring at a single monitor and I’m talking from experience. Now I have a standard marble desk that’s able to fit 2 monitors, a keyboard with a mouse but I still have room for a small notepad and a standard notebook and will not be cramped.

Staying focused

I keep my self on task by using the pomodoro method. Which is giving my focus to a task for a certain amount of time then follow it with a short break of max 5 minutes where I will just relax my mind maybe change my playlist or tidy my desk or a complete a misc task. Personally, I complete heavy tasks in the morning and I leave easier tasks after lunch that way I can wind down leading home. To keep my focus while doing my work I snack on healthy snacks or a protein shake so I’m not constantly thinking about lunch. Also I HIGHLY suggest planning out your day first thing in the morning so you have a sense of what your day looks like and whether or not you can complete what you need to complete. Strive to focus on 3 major tasks a day in order to not overwhelm yourself.

Getting noticed by Executives

Apply for an Internship

If you are in college apply for internships!! Today I was able to chat with a VP and she mentioned that she’s involved in the summer internship program and you would be surprised but they actually remember faces and their interactions with the interns. They also genuinely love being involved in those programs.

Lend help wherever you can

Management and Executives are looking for leaders and an effective leader is always willing to lend a helping hand. You have to show them that you are a team player because they have to be able to count on you. Always being willing to help shows them you are willing to go the extra mile but please stay within reason. Do not sacrifice your physical and mental health for a promotion, if you become ill you’re no good to anybody including yourself so be very mindful on how much you take on.

Get involved

I’m naturally quiet but thankfully my employer has mentorship programs, newsletter teams and things of that nature. I joined my departments newsletter and our Editor and chief is a Director and there were several Manager and Leads. I find that the inner organizations within a firm are run by the Executives who are doing this on personal time PLUS you have a common interest that sparks conversations.

Additional tips

Stay curious

Ask questions - make use of the higher ups office hours if they have any.

The right attitude - stay positive and be a go getter they eat that stuff up

Take pride in your work - this speaks on your work ethic

If you have weekly team meetings suggest an ice breaker to your manager this shows them you care about the team on a more personal level - I suggested we all bring HS prom pictures and that went GREAT!

How I network

Build Relationships

Since I work at an Investment Firm the company pushes connecting and building relationships. So I always make it a point say bye to my manager and we kind of bond over binge watching shows so we usually chat it up in my way out the door. I suggest trying to get to know your management teams because effective managers want to get to know you and most likely have an open door policy. But also get to know your colleagues and try to connect with common interests.

For instance right now I have a team mate who’s from Jersey so we bond because we both are from the NY/NJ area and I have another team member is into manifesting so we bond over things of that nature. I find that even my peers could have connections with important people as well and if they have kids I make it a point to ask about them. Personally, I try to remember small things about their kids because it shows you are taking a genuine interest in their lives and that’s just the type of person I am so it comes naturally to me. This establishes a personal connection and makes me feel confident enough to talk about work things. (But beware of people with ill intentions, I learned to spot them a mile away)

Get Involved!!

I’m going to sound like a broken record but if you are already at an establish company that has “extracurriculars” such as volunteering opportunities, newsletter teams and things of that nature it takes some of the edge off of networking because again we already have a common interest and the executives have these activities and clubs in place because they want you to be involved. I like to volunteer and I’m looking into applying for mentorship programs. Not only will this help you meet new people but it gets you in the face of key people at your company. But also branch out and join club outside of work for instance, if you are black and an accountant become a member of NABA (National Association for Black Accountants). They hold conferences every year with reputable companies and it’s for us!!! I know numerous people who have gotten internships at Big 4 accounting firms and other top companies. Go meet people and just put yourself out there because closed mouths don’t get fed 🤷🏾‍♀️

royale high blackwood manor (shooter minigame) tips

hi everyone, idk how much the Greater Royale High Community (tm) knows this stuff or how much people have figured it out, but i know a few friends haven't so im making a guide full of tips some of my friends have found useful.

blackwood manor is, with a little aim, EASILY the fastest way to farm candy (and for me the most fun). i've written this guide assuming that the player doesn't have much experience with the shooter genre at all just so i can cover all my bases.

THIS IS NOT A CANDIES GUIDE. it's a gameplay guide + analysis that may result in you getting more candies. all screenshots in this guide were taken on graphics setting 9.

LASTLY, A DISCLAIMER: this is helpful for ME!!!!! if you have another system that works for you, feel free to share! this is not an attack on how anyone else plays the game or a presumption that i am the best royale high blackwood manor gamer, it's just a bunch of things i've found that my friends think is helpful.

how to play as an FPS the easiest way + visibility tips

DON'T PLAY ON MOBILE. i mean someone out there is gonna prove me wrong by being awesome at this game on mobile but i've heard nothing but complaints from mobile users playing this game. i have no clue how it handles on xbox. i play on PC with mouse and keyboard because it's how i play most shooters.

royale high has the shift button mapped to sprint, so playing as a TPS, you'll be right clicking and dragging a lot *or* toggling shiftlock all the time. FPS is the way to go.

when you zoom in, you may be met with your gun blocking your screen like this:

the surest way i've found to get rid of this is to use the "ninja" or "crawl" walkpack. it's under animations -> walk packs. if you're unfamiliar with RH, note that you have to jump or walk to reset the walk pack. here's the FPS view for ninja, then crawl, both idle and when fighting at a standstill:

the main benefit to using crawl is that the gun is basically never visible, even when running and shooting, because it's below the HUD. this means you're never gonna have it blocking your vision. but when you look down, you're gonna see your RH nickname, since it's in front of your first person view sometimes. you can get rid of that by resetting your RH nickname to display your normal roblox display name, but the RH nickname is such a big social part of RH that idk if that's a benefit unless you really, REALLY can't handle seeing the gun shake.

that said, with ninja equipped, your gun WILL be in view when running and not shooting... so it depends on your preferences.

(i also suspect that you may have slightly less range with crawl. but i also suspect that is not actually an advantage in this minigame. more on that later.)

the elder animation is also pretty solid, but the takes up a lot of the screen when shooting. here's that for comparison.

lighting tips

now you have to worry about seeing. it could be my monitor settings, but i see better WITHOUT the night vision goggles. (you can turn them off if you have them equipped in case you want them just for the looks.)

when i first wrote this i swore by the headlamp - but i turned my graphics settings down and noticed the effectiveness of the headlamp entirely depends on your graphics settings. to summarize:

on settings 1 and 2, it's so muted i can only tell it does something looking at my avatar. it hardly projects onto the environment at all.

on 3, its brightness is slightly more noticeable, but still pretty terrible.

on 4 and above, the spotlight is much clearer and it has a noticeable effect on the environment around it.

luckily, there's another way to make the environment glow that's fairly effective at all graphics settings: items designed to emit a nondirectional glow. this includes things like candles, lanterns, etc. a lot of wings i thought would do this don't; dewdrop mist does for some reason but it only helps a little. the items i listed will be the most effective, and they're best with the light source set to white. this will largely just help you with your immediate surroundings (i.e. running into a wall) but it does help. on graphics settings 1 thru 3, this is your most powerful option.

if you don't have any, there's a new item this royaloween that emits a good glow: the pumpkin wand. equip this and change the colors however you want, but make the light itself white. if you don't have the item, google a guide for royaloween 2023 chests and it'll be in there.

two warnings: 1) it'll look in third person mode on your avatar that stacking tons of glowing items adds more glow, but in first person mode i don't know if they help much. 2) not every item that has a bloom glow effect will emit an actual light source anywhere near your avatar.

the game is always gonna be super dark appearance-wise, which is actually one of my least favorite things in a shooter. most of my navigation is done by just knowing the map, which is kinda unfortunate.

some combat thoughts i've had

the game is definitely designed to encourage you to seek out the ghosts. they can lose you by moving through walls, but they move at roughly your own walking pace. and while you can't go through walls, your bullets can. this means when they go through a wall, you can sprint to find them in a reasonable time frame, all while shooting at them.

your gun shoots a projectile which travels a short distance in front of you in an arc. i THINK the projectile is actually dealing damage to the ghosts, because shooting something out of range will miss if the projectile goes below it but your cursor is on the ghost. it also feels like the damage isn't dealt until the projectile lands on the ghost, so there's no invisible instantaneous damage arc.

this means you can arc your shots by firing them higher. if you haven't played a game where this is important, this means taking advantage of how the arc from the gun is shaped. if you aim slightly higher than the target, you can hit a target further away. if you've played a game with a bow and arrow, like botw/totk, you've probably done this. the same thing applies to this game.

that would be really useful, BUT!!! the ghost-sucking mechanic also encourages you to follow them. it can be REALLY tempting to stand around getting arc-snipes on the ghosts, but that means when it's time to capture them, you're across the map from them fighting your way thru dark walls trying to close the distance and someone else will get the ghost! you'll still collect candies for shooting the ghost, but you can collect even more if you suck them. plus, the timer means for some ghosts, you REALLY won't capture them alone unless you start immediately.

so when is arcing shots useful? simple: the biggest ghosts. the ghosts all hover about the same distance from the ground, and the ghosts with the highest XP are the tallest. these ghosts are going to attract a lot of players. if you want to get the most candy out of them, you NEED to be pumping damage into them. so if you can't pursue it and maneuver thru the map at the same time, it can be beneficial to hang back and aim at it from far away, THEN close the distance once it's almost time to capture it.

i think this is clever not only because "big ghost = more HP" makes a lot of sense if you've literally ever played a game before, but because their height encourages players to arc their shots anyways. the highest HP ghosts are the easiest to aim at from a distance. the tall skinny ones take a little more aim, but they're still easier to hit at a distance not just from the bigger hitbox, but because it encourages you to aim in a way that maximizes your range. pretty cool, huh?

just remember, if you've never played a shooter before: at range you need to aim ahead of the target with slower projectiles like the ones in this game.

also: the distance your gun travels is DEFINITELY dependent on how high it is from the ground. your range feels like it's HALVED when using crawl compared to ninja. this means the ideal way to play the game seems to be to equip super high heels and then use an animation that keeps the gun away from your vision.

cosmetic tips

save an outfit with the goggles and/or headlamp and you'll be able to use them year-round. i've been using the goggles all year this way. here i am wearing an outfit in royale high with them. second pic is to show you that the headlamp still works!

you can change the colors of the headlamp and night vision goggles. the night vision goggles even support patterns on the metal part. adding a pattern to the glowing eyes will make them stop glowing.

the headlamp will equip an average color if you try to use a pattern with the band. using a pattern or a dark color will cause the glow effect on the item to stop working, but the light emitted to the environment doesn't appear to depend on the color you select for the headlamp at all. ugly combination of the two for demonstration:

if the headlamp doesn't go with your outfit, the skull crown layers really fantastically over it. it'll look like the skull is glowing.

and, of course, combining that with the ability to change the colors of the lamp/goggles, you basically get custom glowing skull this way:

my favorite combination for the night vis goggles is the breathe me mask. this is a super unpopular outfit item, but it works really well with the halloween gear. when it glows, it blocks the bulkiness of both items and only the lights show through. equipping a dark color or pattern will let all the details show through. both effects are super cool for a sci fi vibe.

but honestly, i will put these goggles over ANYTHING.

in conclusion:

FPS is the best way to play the minigame. it gives you the most aim control while moving. if RH could map sprint to anything else TPS might be viable. but right now it's not. to play FPS, make sure you've got an animation equipped where the gun isn't in your face.

SAVE AN OUTFIT WITH THE EVENT ITEMS SO YOU CAN USE THEM ALL YEAR. THEY ARE FREE and if you play sunset they are SUPER HELPFUL IN SPACE/SCI FI THEMES.

equip a glowing item with white light to help you see.
