Caught (Historical Lams)
Based off a fanart I saw on @illdrawmywayout IG highlight stories. I couldn’t resist. Let’s pretend they allowed sodomy in the 18th century, okay? Okay, good talk. Alex and John deserved to be to happy. I want them to be happy for once. I know, cheeky title for this little oneshot, but that’s all I could think of-
It’s late in the evening once more in the aide-de-camp office. A quiet evening no doubt. Lieutenant Colonels John Laurens and Alexander Hamilton sit side by side at the table, their knees knocking agaisnt the other, their shoulders brushing agaisnt each other. For now, it’s only Hamilton and Laurens seated at the long, rectuangular English chestnut wooden table, papers scattered all over, a map laid out in front of them, their quills scratching against the parchment. Two candles laid about on the table, giving them a little bit more lighting than the moon casting a silver glow through the window.
Laurens huffs out a breath as he massages his aching temple, groaning as he feels his head starting to poud. Hamilton glances at Laurens in his peripheral for a second before turning to him, glancing at his profile with worry. Hamilton sets his quill down and rests his hand on top of Laurens daringly on the table, threading his fingers through. Laurens smile softly with his eyes closed and hums as he feels all of his tension from the day being washed away. Hamilton smiles when he feels Laurens’s squeezing his hand in return before brushing his thumb over his knuckles. Hamilton sighs and closes his eyes, resting his head on Laurens’s shoulder.
“Are you alright, John?” Hamilton asks, his voice hushed.
Laurens swallows and licks his dry lips, dry from the lack of kissses for which he desires so much right now. Laurens flashes Hamilton a small reassuring smile, though Hamilton believes it to be quite unconvincing. But he returns Laurens’s smile nontheless.
“Yes,” Laurens sighs. “I’m fine, my dear boy. Just...a long day today has been quite stressful. I only wish for it to be over and for you to be in my arms.”
Hamilton hums as leans agaisnt Laurens’s chest, therefore causing Laurens to wrap his arms around him. Hamilton glances up at him with a grin and a wink.
“I’m already in your arms, my love!” Hamilton teases.
Laurens scoffs, with a mix of a laugh as he leans down to press a kiss to Hamilton’s lips, then two, then three. Hamilton laughs through his nose as he sits back up and faces Laurens fully, staring up into those beautiufl diamond blue eyes of his, those eyes that makes Hamilton’s heart flutter, those eyes that made him fall in love with Laurens all over again, that make Hamilton feel completely helpless.
“You are...you are indeed, my Alex,” Laurens hums.
“You know, Jack,” Hamilton begins. Laurens rasies an eyebrow, encouraging him to continue. “If Marquis finds out about us, he’ll kill you.”
Laurens scoffs followed by a laugh. Though, Laurens does feel somewhat terrified about Marquis de Lafayette, who Hamilton loves like a brother, finding out about their relationship.
“Please, don’t remind me,” Laurens groans, griamcing at the mention of Lafayette. “He already looks like he wants to kill me.”
Hamilton chuckles as he remembers the days where Lafayette was with them, standing near Hamilton whenever Laurens was around, glowering at Laurens, sending him dark glares and warning hisses. Laurens knows that Lafayette is only trying to protect the Family’s Little Lion. But still, Laurens couldn’t help but still feel slightly intimaidated around the Marquis.
Laurens clearly remembers when Lafayette had countred him once after Hamilton had discovered about Laurens’s wife, who he had left back in England and had lied to Hamilton about for two years. Laurens shivers at the memroy, griamcing as he remembers Lafayette storming into Hamilton and Laurens’s shared room, shouting curses in French so fast Laurens wasn’t able to comprehend what the Marquis was saying.
“Are you alright, Jack?” Hamilton asks, bringing Laurens back into reality, a hand on his bicep.
Laurens glances down, blinking his eyes as he clears his throat. He nods as he shivers agaisnt the cold. “I’m fine, Alexander. Just...thinking...”
“I’ve always wondered John,” Hamilton begins. “Why are you so afraid of Lafayette?”
Laurens gives him a look. “Why do you think?”
“Still working, are we?” says a voice from near the stairwell.
Hamilton and Laurens both turn to find Tench Tilghman climbing down the steps witih a candle in hand. He smirks affectionately when he sees Hamilton and Laurens, an eyebrow raised teasingly. Laurens jumps up from his seat instantly with a grin as he embraces his dear friend.
“Ah! Tench! What are you doing up? Shouldn’t you be abed?” Laurens asks, gripping the man’s shoulders.
Tilghman smiles. “I should ask the same of you two.”
Hamilton blushes as he stands, his freckled cheeks red as his hair. He stands beside Laurens, looping his arm through his.
“We were just uh...we were just merely finishing up,” Hamilton says.
“Hm,” Tilghman huffs, still smirking. “So you say. You’re quite flustered, Ham~”
“Oh, hush!” Hamilton hisses, waving Tilghman off.
“And to answer your question, Laurens,” Tilghman says with a chuckle as he turns towards Laurens. “I only go to fetch myself some water. My throat is quite dry for some reason.”
“Ah, of course,” Laurens says with nod.
As Tilghman passes by them, he winks at Hamilton before chuckling himself, shaking his head as he enters the house’s kitchen. Laurens sighs before turning back to Hamilton. Hamilton hums as he gazes up at Laurens dreamily, cupping his jaw while Laurens grips his forearms, rubbing them up and down before leaning down himself and presses his lips to Hamilton
Hamilton giggles into the kiss, cupping Laurens’s cheeks with both hands while Laurens snakes his arms around Hamilton’s waist, pulling Hamilton closer towards him so their chests nearly touch. From the kitchen, Tilghman watches them with a fond smile, his arms crossed over his chest.
Hamilton, unfortunately, has to pull away for a breath of air but his hands still remain on Laurens’s cheeks as he leans up to press his forehead against Laurens’s, standing on his toes slightly, a wide smile on his face.
“When do you leave?” Hamilton asks Laurens breathlessly with his lips grazing over Laurens’s. “For your South Carolina?”
Laurens sighs, leaning into Hamilton’s touch. “A few days.”
Hamilton swallows and nods, biting his lower lip as fear now begins to squeeze his chest. Laurens combs a few russet curls out of Hamilton’s eyes and tucks them behind his ear.
“You know I’ll come home to you, my Alexander,” Laurens says. “I made you a promise.”
“I know,” Hamilton huffs. “I know. I just...I know how brash you can be on the field with a sword and if I could, I’d very much keep you here in my arms with a pen instead of a sword...”
“I know, my love,” Laurens whispers, pressing a kiss to Hamilton’s lips once more.
A pause. Hamilton glances up at him.
“Shall we continue this in our bed?” Hamilton whispers, giggling softly when Laurens presses another kiss to Hamilton’s jaw and then the side of his neck. “While you are still here and still alive?”
“Then by all means lead the way,” Laurens whispers, his voice husky. Hamilton grins as he grabs Laurens’s wrist and drags him up the stairs towards their shared bedroom.
Hamilton swings their door open and let it shut on its own with a sharp bang. He winces slightly. Hamilton suddenly gasps as he feels the air being knocked out of his lungs when he feels himself agaisnt the wall. It’s then Hamilton realizes he’s being pinned agaisnt the wall by his Laurens.
Hamilton giggles as Laurens growls low, a deep, low rumble coming from the back of his throat. Laurens dives down and smashes his lips onto Hamilton’s, angling his face to capture his lips better. Hamilton grunts as his lips move agiasnt Laurens’s in sync. He lets out a breathy giggle as he feels Laurens’s lips trailing down the side of his jaw and then his neck again and then onto his shoulder. Laurens lets his lips linger there, causing Hamilton to shudder and grunt once more.
Grinning, Laurens pulls out Hamilton’s hair from his tight ponytail, letting his fiery red hair fall around him in a sea of red, framing Hamilton’s feminine face beautifully. Hamilton grunts with eagerness as he fumbles to untie Laurens’s cravat, growling with desperation while Laurens shrugs off Hamilton’s blue Continental coat.
Hamilton manages to sucessfully unwrap the cravat around Laurens’s neck and tosses it off to the side like it’s worth nothing. While Hamilton works on shrugging off Laurens’s own coat, Laurens grabs Hamilton’s legs so Hamilton could lock them around Laurens’s waist and Laurens begins to pull off Hamilton’s boots.
Hamilton giggles again as Laurens presses his lips to Hamilton’s again. Hamilton grunts and hisses through his nose sharply as he cups both of Laurens’s cheeks. Laurens steps further towards Hamilton, causing Hamilton to gasp with surprise.
“Look at you,” Laurens whispers sharply, almost sounding like a growl agaisnt Hamilton’s lips. “So beautiful and so helpless beneath me...”
Hamilton grins, looking up at Laurens through his eyelashes and traces Laurens’s jaw with the crook of his finger. “Hmm...and what shall you do while I’m beneath you and that I’m...totally at your mercy...Lieutenant Colonel...?”
Laurens smirks. “I command you to be quiet.”
Hamilton grins as well as he leasn up closer to Laurens. “Yes, sir, Lietuenant Colonel Laurens.”
Laurens grabs Hamilton’s chin and smashes his lips against his again.
Laurens doesn’t know how long it’s been since they’re intimacy began when they suddenly hear their bedroom door being slammed open. Hamilton gasps and yelps with surprise while his arms around Laurens’s. Laurens springs back off of Hamilton, his eyes wide with slight fear and surprise. Laurens whips his head towards their now opened bedroom door and he freezes instantly when he spots Marquis de Lafayette standing in the doorway.
For a moment, no one dares to say a word. Laurens swallows as he grips onto Hamilton for dear life. Laurens keeps his eyes locked on Lafayette’s, who narrow dangerously, up to the point where he’s almost squinting at Laurens. Hamilton glances between the two, frozen still like Laurens and holding onto him tightly, giving Lafayette a pleading look.
“Mes Amies!” Lafayette gasps.
Laurens swallows as he shakily steps out of Hamilton’s grasp and fumbles for his coat off the floor. “L-Lafayette, it’s uh...it’s um...it’s not what it looks like--”
Lafayette beams, jabbing his finger at Laurens and Hamilton. “HA! I KNEW IT!”
Lauerns frowns, glancing over at Hamilton over his shoulder, who shrugs, before whipping his head back over at the Marquis.
“Damn it, Meade!” Lafayette whines. “You won!”
“You...you betted on us?” Hamilton asks with a grin as he marches next to Laurens.
Lafayette shrugs. “Well, of course! It’s pretty obvious, mon ami.”
Laurens lets out a breath. “Whoo...okay. That’s...that’s good.” He laughs awkwardly. “For a moment, I thought you were about to have my head, Marquis.”
Lafayette crosses his arms over his chest. “Oh. I’m still going to have your head, Laurens.”
Laurens pales as he blinks a couple of times, clamping his mouth shut. He leans over towards Hamilton and whispers, “You think I should run?”
“Now would be the best oppurtunity to do so, my dear Laurens...unless...you want to end up in the trenches,” Hamilton says.
“I’ll uh...I’ll uh...I’ll get going now,” Laurens stutters as he inches his way towards the door. Laurens swallows when he meets eye contact with the Marquis again. “I’ll uh...I’ll see you two tomorrow...in the morn’...”
“Le petit lion is right, Laurens,” Marquis says, his thick French accent rolling off his tongue. “You hurt him, I will gladly blow you up in the trenches!”
“Understood,” Laurens says sharply followed by a curt nod. He steps out into the hallway. “I’ll uh...I’ll go now...see you um...later, I suppose, Alexander...”
Hamilton blushes as he crosses his arms and nods with a shy smile. “Yes...good evening...” A pause. “John.”
Laurens smirks before dashing out of the room, brushing past Lafayette’s shoulder. Lafayette winks at Hamilton before leaving the room. Hamilton sighs as he shakes his head.
Is all he says.
