Well, we might not know what the rest of season 6 will bring but if it doesn’t come up in any of the other six episodes, I’d love to have Lucy and Tim talk about officially moving in together and then actually doing so. I know they’re practically living together already, but I’d love for them to maybe get their own new place together? Get a whole new apartment/house that’s theirs. Honestly, just gimme all the cutesy domestic moments they can fit in because I’m a sucker for that - what else is new? But also, please let them keep working on properly communicating with one another even if it’s hard because no relationship can survive without good communication. 

And, you know, if they're feeling like it, I would also not say no to a proposal.

I WANNA KNOW BABY GIRL EVERS’ NAME FFS. Obviously I’m most invested in Chenford, but it’s driving me insane that we’re 4 eps in, and still don’t know her name. Speaking of kids, I’d love to see more of all the kids Lopez and Harper have. Get rid of some of the unnecessary Bailan domesticity crap and gimme any of the other couples instead. 

Speaking of Bailey.. I’m not a hater, also not exactly a fan, but can we get her in a storyline that doesn’t involve Nolan in some way? I think if she were to interact more with the other characters, we as the audience could potentially get more involved with her character. She’s basically tied to Nolan, and sometimes it feels like a disservice to everyone (including Jenna as an actress) to limit her interactions to basically just him and quick two-sentence exchanges thrown in every 20 eps like with Lucy in 6x04. 

I know it’ll never happen, but I would love to see Chenford babysitting either Jack and his baby sister or baby Leah because we know they’d just.. well, maybe not suck at it but they’d likely struggle and lose a kid or two lol and it’d just be so much fun to watch. 

I also gotta broach the sensitive topic.. I’ve been hoping for Lucy to do a long-term UC op practically since I started watching the show and even more so since Chenford became canon simply because I want to see how she would handle not being able to contact anyone she cares about. Give her a handler that’s not Tim, not Harper, not anyone she’s familiar with so she can experience what it would be like to be completely cut off from her life and the people she loves. Maybe I’m understanding her desire to be a deep cover UC officer and she’d flourish under those circumstances, but I think if she experienced an op without any of her friends (or her boyfriend) as her handler/back up, she’d have a better idea of what her life would really look like if she chose that path. She’s a people person, and I personally don’t think she’d like it as much as I think she wants to like it. (6x02 hinted at her not being as fine about it as she claims to be, and I hope we get to see more of the topic.) If not that, I’d also just like to see an op gone wrong. They’ve all been fairly straight forward without any kind of consequences even after her cover had been blown, and I’d be very interested in seeing something just not go as smoothly. Also, Lucy could do ANY job within the LAPD and absolutely kick ass. Where are all the departments wanting her on their team that the cop offering her that spot at UC school talked about?? Where?! WHERE?!?

I’m rambling now, great. Okay, I’m gonna stop here. I may have missed some obvious wishes here but for now these are some I could think of right off the bat.

Oh oh oh! Lucy’s called Tim babe before, can we get Tim calling Lucy by a pet name? Pretty pleaseeeee 🥺 and last but not least, give us Kojo back. And bring Genny.

I got some world building

I wanna put way more focus on the dragon and I actually wanted it to physically be the way the magic dimension is built up

Have a very quick doodle i did of that idea

I also am changing up the relationships when it comes to the main group I don’t want it to be season 1 and 2 and boom everyone has a boyfriend.. i want it to be more spread out and explore more ideas for some of them

I’m planning on keeping the main aspects of each season intact like the villains and main premise until like season 6 because i want some more characters to have their individual moments

I also didn’t kill off nabu i killed off riven but he’s not a walking red flag in my rewrite so it’s probably still gonna hurt

In my rewrite musa goes by muse because i wanted to break up the all names end with a thing going on and i also have muse go mostly by he/ they pronouns

I’m keeping chimera because honestly we need more found family and i just don’t want the illusion of stella’s parents getting back together to be a thing i can make them goth and trendy siblings it will be fun.

I also wanna work in more lore on where the boys are from and where the trix are from.

I have been putting a lot of effort into reworking zenith and melody at the moment really working out how i wanna build their culture so that can reflect in how characters look and react

And im writing in the existence of fairy animals from the start with it so i can expand the ecosystems of the magic dimension!

Daphne and valtor will have a history but they are very different from their original counterparts in my rewrite

I’m keeping professor palladium closer to his season one design cuz i honestly prefer it

Also palladium x avalon canon i make the rules

I’m keeping diaspro and I actually made her a specialist and not a fairy cuz no more boys can’t be fairies and girls can’t be paladins I’M GIVING HER A SWORD!

The trix are gonna get more casual outfits because we were robbed

I gave tecna a hearing aid and tecna also can’t fly I’m limiting her to gliding as a reference to her paraglider wings in season 1 and also just cuz i feel it’s more interesting to have diversity in battle styles.

Furthermore i changed artu into a shiba because they are known for their strong personalities and i get wanting to give the dog eye brows for expression but why didn’t they just pick a breed that had more natural looking brow like markings 😭😭

Roxy WILL be getting every transformation because i like to draw and i love roxy she deserves more!

And although i love tecna and timmy they are the only official mc pairing that isn’t canon in my rewrite and idk if it will be due to my zenith rework. THEY DO INTERACT I JUST WANNA TRY OTHER THINGS WITH TECNA!

If you're currently taking prompts, I was wondering if you would take one that tackles the above quote from book-Jon's thoughts. While he thinks highly of atypical and unique females like Ayra or Val, his misogynistic views of women who adhered to the rules of his society (by choice or otherwise) need to go! Time period of your choice/doesn't have to be bookverse.

I'll be honest, anon - is Jon actually any more misogynistic than the rest of Westeros? Baseline everyone is, because the society they live in is.

This prompt came in back when I requested them (like half a year ago, oops) and I've come back to it every once in a while, but could never really think of a way to turn this into a story that wasn't just Jon sitting there and thinking the things I'm about to write. So instead, I'm just writing my thoughts lmao.

I'm gonna put it all under the cut, because I don't normally do this sort of thing (aka, give my thoughts on canon in a not-story way. I don't like discourse, so I'm placing this under the cut & not tagging it to hopefully avoid that.)

Now, I'm no book scholar, I haven't studied them and parsed through them, I don't read a lot of metas (sorry!) and I actually read the books years ago, so maybe I'm completely wrong here, but I always took that willowy creature line as Jon being a shitty teen boy and trying to pretend he doesn't want the thing he wants. Jon's other thought at this moment is "a warrior princess, he decided" - which is just him... coming up with Val’s whole personality despite not really knowing her. He’s thinking in generics & story tropes in this moment. Willowy creature. Warrior princess.

I also think Jon's admiration for "unique females" is less active misogyny and more him... sort of taking Arya's side? Because doesn't Arya 'hate' feminine girls, too? Arya doesn't fit into that role and because of that, she ends up resenting it (which, to me, is absolutely something a young girl would do. I did it. I went through my not like other girls faze). So of course Jon, who adores Arya and wants to protect her and feels a kinship with her as the two "outcast" Starks, would also take that on. Plus, if you think about it, the only real ladies he would have ever interacted with would be Catelyn (who didn't love him the way he wanted her to) and Sansa (who at some point, kept her distance). Every other reference point he'd have is either from a distance, or from stories. You also have his role model, good ol' Ned Stark, who is amused by Arya's "boyish" behaviors, then gives his "girly" daughter a doll because that's what girls like, right? No matter she's too old for it. And Robb "My Sisters Aren't Worth Trading For" Stark.

But Jon doesn't actually hate willowy creatures, if we're equating that with feminine women. He thinks of Sansa fondly enough, he wants to give Ygritte flowers from the glass gardens, he loves that Ygritte loves songs. When he thinks about his mother, he wants her to be a lady. He wants to be Lord of Winterfell. He wants a lady wife and children. I think that the willowy creatures line is based less in actual hatred for feminine women, and more a way for him to pretend it's not what he wants, because he thinks he can never have it.

I think we can also look at willowy creatures another way, in that Jon doesn't respect people who don't use their own agency, or are too cowardly to stand up for themselves/others. But that doesn't necessarily apply to feminine women? Look at Cat, who fought off an assassin and helped her son wage a war and 'saws through' a guy's throat when Robb was killed (thanks asoiaf wiki for that description). It doesn't even really apply to Sansa, who is one of the more passive characters, action-wise. But she stands up to and manipulates Joffrey into not killing Dontos, doesn't bend for Tyrion to cloak her, and runs away with Dontos despite not having a guarantee of her safety.

And the fact that he repeatedly denies Stannis because "Winterfell belongs to my sister Sansa" tells me he doesn't actually think less of women who follow traditional roles. If he did, he could easily think Sansa wouldn't be able to handle it, or doesn't deserve it because she's a woman.

Now, like I said, I'm no book scholar, so maybe there's some other point where Jon's like "women are stupid and useless" but I'm not remembering them.

TL;DR: Jon is a teenage boy who grew up in a misogynistic society, who has one negative thought about a generic willowly creature, but when he actually knows women, seems to respect them well enough

sorry in advance for this really long ask, hopefully it’s not too annoying to come to you like this, but that meme you posted about being interested in sex only in the fictional sense actually means quite a lot to me… i’ve been IDing as aspec for a couple years now, it took me a while to figure it out because i’ve always been interested in romance and sex in fiction and fantasy and have had somewhat of a crush on one fictional character or another since puberty, but i’ve never wanted it irl or had any sort of romantic or sexual encounters in reality. eddie’s the biggest fictional crush i’ve had since i was a teen, to the point where sometimes i was starting to question my asexuality. but when i do that i have to remind myself that i wouldn’t want him if he were real, my interest entirely hinges on everything being fictional and safe in my head. i’ve only recently discovered the label aego and connect with it quite a lot, so it was thrilling to see both it and the concept of enjoying sex exclusively with fictional characters in the wild on your blog! i’ve just been having a hard time deciding whether i ‘remove my self’ from the equation, if you will. the definition is a little bit hard to puzzle out and i know it’s slightly different for everyone. anyway, thanks for posting that meme because it helped me find your blog, and it was so lovely to see aego in your bio as it’s the first time i’ve encountered that since i’ve been considering the label for myself. if you don’t mind my asking, how long have you ID’d as ace/aego, and how did you decide aego was the right label for you? oh and just for fun, if you’d like to answer: what are some headcanons that feel specific to Your Eddie, the eddie in your head, compared to popular fanon/canon?

Thank you so much for your ask! And trust me, it’s not annoying at all! There are not many people in my life that I can discuss things like this with, so I was kind of thrilled when I read it. I apologize for the lengthy reply, but I was SO excited to answer this.

Honestly, I started to realize I was “different” around JR high (which for a little context was about 25 years ago) when everyone around me was feeling that first rush of hormones and so excited about boys (or girls) and dating and first kisses, but I just never really felt that way. That’s not to say that I didn’t get crushes or find boys attractive (the posters on my walls of boy bands and teen idols would attest to that), I just didn’t see the point in romantic/sexual interactions with people I knew.  

I never really gave it much thought at the time though or tried to understand why I felt that way because JR high and HS were a really rough time for me. I was being badly bullied, my house burnt down, my parents were getting divorced, and I was struggling with depression so, I’ll be honest, I kind of assumed that things I felt (or wasn’t feeling in this case) were a product of nothing more than low self-esteem. Obviously, the only reason I wasn’t interested in trying for a relationship is because they’d just reject me anyways, right?

Yeah, I told myself that’s all it was for a really long time. Not because I was particularly embarrassed by my lack of personal interest but more so that I didn’t fully understand that I had a lack of interest.

I think it was because, around the age of 18, I found fanfic for the first time (SPUFFY 4 LYFE) and you best believe the smutty stories were my favorite (still are btw). Before that? Oh, this movie has a sex scene? Imma just watch it a dozen times, okay? So, clearly, I’m interested… maybe I just haven’t met the right guy?

It’s only been recently – around the last 5 years ago – that I’ve attempted to identify my sexuality. The catalyst of which was a particularly memorable event where I was literally sobbing at the thought of hanging out with a casual friend that I knew was interested in more. It was the first time anyone has ever told me that they were attracted to me and I was horrified by it.

So, yep, it appears I’m repulsed by sex? Great, I’m asexual.

But what about the fanfic and those dirty sex scenes, allagog? If you like watching/reading it, you must (subconsciously) want it in real life too.

So, I start reading a bit more and landed on the term graysexual for a few years – because I assumed my interest in that stuff proved I was sexually interested in people, therefore I straddled the line between asexuality and heterosexuality.

But I still felt like it didn’t fit.

It wasn’t until I started reading x reader fanfic daily (before that, I’d check out a story here and there) with the introduction of Eddie Munson (not unlike you) that I began to understand that the only time I was remotely interested in someone was if:

They were a celebrity who I will never, EVER meet

They were a fictional character

So, like one is wont to do in this day and age, I googled: “only sexually attracted to fictional characters’

And Aegosexuality popped up. And even though it’s not 100% a perfect match, of all the terms I’ve come across, this one fits the best.

The “remove yourself” bit you mentioned is also one of the parts that I don’t fully identify with (masturbating is the other), but I think that’s open to interpretation. It may not be the same for you, but when I’m reading x reader fics or imagining scenarios, I don’t actually picture me as I am, but a FICTIONAL version of myself.

In the end, the most important thing about identifying as any sexuality is that it's the right fit for you.

As for Eddie headcanons, I can't say I really have any that are entirely specific to me. For the most part, I love (most) of the versions that other authors have created or built upon. I love awkward, affectionate, sweetheart Eddie the most and almost always imagine him as much. Virgin!Eddie or sexually inexperienced are also 100% canon for me.

I'll also admit to really struggling with Asshole/Jerk Eddie and promiscuous Eddie (especially when combined with the Asshole/Jerk version of him). No disrespect for the people that read/write this version but I usually avoid them.

Ok so I finally managed to get the time to catch up on 5r6c and holllyyyy shitt

I'm not usually a western au fan but this fic might have me changing my mind, it's so much fun to read!

Seán is so understandable with his grudge, Kevin is the best sheriff ever and Jim Pickens is obviously the best character, and Daithi and Brian's bond makes me feel soft, I'm a sucker for old friends

also, like, out of the comments and asks and stuff weve gotten, everyone seems to comment on daithi and brian in this fic which i am DELIGHTED by. if there’s one thing i will say, sometimes i do get worried about our characterization, but i try not to much, because i remember the lads themselves have no established “canon.” we’re just taking the personalities we get from the videos they’re in together and turning them into characters to put in a different setting. so like, some suspension of disbelief is alright to move the plot, as long as they’re accurate enough

...that being said, daithi and brian’s interactions in this fic is the one exception to this, as in, every time we write them together i feel we are being 100% accurate in their characterization. i look at a dialogue exchange and then i open 1 (one) video with them together and i’m like “this is perfect we have their voices spot on and no one can say otherwise” (okay that’s an exaggerated humble brag but i AM proud of how much i feel we’ve got them right in this fic)

i remember van showing this part at the beginning of chapter 9 to me and saying “well i think it’s funny but idk if we should keep it” and i was like “no we HAVE to keep this it’s fucking perfect”

also. dan. oh theres so many things i can say that i will keep quiet about for now but i am veeeery excited to get to.

but joseph quinn’s intention with the scene in the forest was for eddie and chrissy to be flirting. he said in an interview he would like to see them as a couple. the duffers wanted to see them as a couple and regret killing her off so soon, grace van dien wanted them to be a couple too. the music, the lighting all indicate a cute flirty moment. people aren’t just seeing a boy and girl interact and going omg they should date, the show is TRYING to get you to root for them as a couple. their acting was amazing throughout and shouldn’t be discredited like that! and regarding the age issue, all that we know about eddie’s age is that he’s older than dustin. it’s never stated he is older than steve. he could still be 17! it’s also never confirmed he failed two years, in fact he could have just been planning what he wanted to do at the graduation ceremony for two years with his friends, which is why they’ve made a joke. he’s not stupid, he’s actually show to be very intelligent just maybe not applying himself like he should. the tattoos mean nothing because he’s never been supervised by an adult he could have don’t them himself or gotten them done by a tattoo shop that didn’t care he was 17. people need to stop spreading headcanons as canon. all we know for sure from canon is that he’s 17 (according to his uncle). maybe it wasn’t a mistake at all? maybe he’s always been 17. i mean joseph quinn even talked about playing a ‘teenager’. 20-21 is not a teenager!

AHHHHH, I am so glad you liked it! I won’t lie, I was quite worried that it might not be to your liking, so your comment was so lovely to read!!

I haven’t watched the entire series yet (still making my way downtown. Nearing the 500s) but I think the one I would love to watch for the first time again is “KID On Trap Island.” It was actually my first bit of DCMK media I consumed, in the backseat of a car on a ten-hour trip, and at the time you must understand how confused I was. I still wasn’t sure how a small child was meant to be 16 (nor did I realize how little Kaito was actually present in the show). Heck, I didn’t even know what the big deal was about Kudo Shinichi. But I remember instantly falling in love with Kaito and his interaction with the Detective Boys, even if I was very confused, haha. 

For episodes, it would either be the Holmes Freak Murder Case or the Trembling Police Headquarters. The first is simply because yes. I just love the dynamic between Conan and Heiji throughout the entire thing, it’s just hHHHHHH! And then when Heiji figures it out I literally died. Just top tier. The latter is for so many reasons, but I think the main one is just to hear Conan tell Takagi “I’ll tell you when we die” for the first time again because that also had me dying. But I adore it also for the Takagi and Sato progression and the equal amount of progression for them both. Shiratori getting hurt was a plus!

 You were such a delight to speak with in regards to DCMK, and with the mask lifted hopefully the conversation won’t have to end here.

Hi hi! Ugh, sorry for being so late to reply - I'd blame it on the holidays, but I'm honestly just a disaster most days, so... orz

Ah, I love KID on Trap Island! My only complaint about it is that it's too short - I would happily watch a multi-ep version of that adventure hey Gosho? Need another spin-off idea? It's a great ep for seeing Kaito interact with the Detective Boys, and also for smart-Conan and smart-KID working as both rivals and allies. I'm also rather distracted by how different KID's outfit looks without the jacket. He makes the white pants/ blue dress shirt combo really work!

My boy Heiji! [hearts] One of the things about this series that I love is how much I like all of the characters. KID will always be my forever girl, but Heiji is absolutely my beloved. His dynamic with Conan is fantastic, and I love when he gets to show off how smart he is. The fact that he's someone Conan trusts to tell the truth is just, ugh, perfect.

The Trembling Police Headquarters is probably my fav story in the entire series. I actually wrote some meta about why I love it to my last year's Secret Santa - it's pretty much everything I love about Detective Conan in a single story (aside from the lack of KID, obviously). Also, Takagi/Sato is my fav canon couple, so more screen time for them is always a bonus.

We Gladly Feast: Author's Commentary

Pugsly’s Attendance:

If he was being bullied at Nancy Regan High, that implies to me that he goes to that school with Wednesday. So, why wouldn’t he also be at Nevermore? If Wednesday turns 16 while at school, then she’s likely a Sophomore, and I would presume that Pugsly is a year behind her as a First Year if they attend Nancy Regan High together. I’m sure for the show he wasn’t at Nevermore was because they didn’t want to add his character and give him any creative real estate as the story was supposed to revolve around Wednesday. For WGF, I think it makes sense he attends Nevermore, and I am looking forward to writing about their sibling interactions.

I do plan to focus more on lore and their time at the school. It’s what I enjoy and am more interested in.

Goody Addams grimoire:

I don’t think such a powerful family artefact would have been left with Normies. I get that for the Frankenstein element, they needed a powerful spell, but I feel like they should have come up with something other than Goody Addam’s book that I think would have otherwise been passed down to her own children/heirs, as obviously the Addam’s family survive after her and flourished. It doesn’t make sense to me either that if the Goody Addam’s grimoire was genuine and in Pilgrim World, that the Outcasts would just leave it there. Even if Pilgrim World post dated Gomez and Morticia’s attendance at Nevermore, Nevermore students have been there in the past several years. No one was like, hey there’s Outcast property they’re showcasing…maybe alert someone so this magical item isn’t in the hands of Normies?

I also feel like Morticia Addams would have told Wednesday about their family learning their powers through their ancestors early on. Feels like pertinent information, maybe something told to her along with other information dealing with puberty. Even if she wouldn’t because it was possible that Wednesday would not get visions, then Wednesday would know if she had a sister who did get her powers earlier.

I will be pulling things from every incarnation of the Addams to build the lore, but most of it will be from the 90’s movies and this series.

I do like Xavier and I want him and Wednesday to be a romantic ship eventually. Ace Wednesday is totally valid, and more in line with canon IMO. That’s not the story I want to write, so hopefully I write it in such a way that the eventually Xavier is someone that Wednesday could actually like.

What I want to expand on Xavier’s character:

Ajax can be quoted as saying “he’s my boy, but he’s super competitive…bro’s got a darker side.” Two things that I think Wednesday would actually find appealing…IF WE EVER SAW IT. So, I am definitely going to make Xavier darker and competitive…as a treat.

We also see that his father is physically absent in his life but involved enough to order that if Xavier needs mental health help, he can get it, but he can’t make it known. Xavier can only see Kinbott in secret. This is a man who can’t be arsed to show up on Parent’s Weekend, but will step in if he thinks his reputation is at risk.

This is also a fellow wealthy Outcast family, as Wednesday implies they’re equals. “Girls in glass houses…” “Throw bigger stones.” We know that the Thorpes and Addams are close enough that they’d be invited to the same funeral. I want to really play around with the idea of like an elite wealthy echelon of Outcast society, with their own traditions and rules.

Right now, we know of several Outcast families that are socially entwined: Addams, Frump, Thorpe, Itt, and Amor. I see these as THE top wealthy and known Outcast families.

I did change Godmother to Grandmother. I think it’d be kind of weird that a) Outcasts would have Godmothers as it’s mostly a Catholic/Christian thing and b) to make someone as old as a friend of Grandmama’s a Godmother kind of defeats the purpose of making them a guardian if something were to happen to Mr. Thorpe. I think making the Godmother the Grandmother also gives more of a bond between Xavier and the relative he lost.

I made Grandmama and Grandma Thorpe lovers because that’s just what it sounded like to me when he told the story. They were “friends” who “spent their twenties in Europe, swindling the rich and notorious.” Sounds like Be Gay, Do Crimes to me. The “friends” euphemism just sounds like something Vincent Thorpe would tell his ten-year-old, and Xavier just never thought to question it. Or perhaps that’s something they only do in Catholic families like mine. Lol Uncle or Auntie so and so’s “special friend.” The Addams, however, would be more open and blunt. I see maybe Grandmama Addams married her husband young, had at least one heir to appease the marriage, leave the child rearing to husband, and then Grandmama has a grand ol’ time tearing up the countryside with her lover.

Enid’s Blog/gossiping:

I think they glossed over this way too quickly. If there is some student who openly gossips about other students, I can’t imagine that she is that popular, even if some see her as useful for some entertainment. There was a reason why Gossip Girl was anonymous, especially in a small school, there would be many a people pissed if someone was openly talking shit about them. In a school filled with powered teenagers, I would have thought there would have been retribution already.

Or does everyone see Enid as so pathetic, she's not worth getting worked up over? Is she just some lone wolf to be pitied?

We also notice that Enid is not part of the Nightshade Society, while her friend and dorm mate Yoko is. This to me implies that Enid just isn’t that popular. Especially since two members, Xavier and Bianca, might have been victims of Enid’s gossip site. I’d be like, fuck no she can’t join. I wouldn’t trust her. Enid even gossiped about Wednesday, whom she was DIRECTLY LIVING WITH, which is just asking for a knife to the throat.

Not only would Enid’s gossip make her unpopular, but I see some exclusion because she can’t wolf out. I want to explore that more, where Enid has a lot in common with Wednesday because they’re both misunderstood and don’t fit in with their peers. Does she gossip and make it obvious, so she stays ahead of any gossip about herself? If potentially being a “lone wolf” can affect her joining a real pack and taking on a mate, I can see wolves keeping their distance from her until she can wolf out. Because whether or not she’s a true lone wolf or a late bloomer, the situation is the same, she can’t wolf out and isn’t truly one of them yet.

as you were walking up to the dorms that’s when you heard tiny meows and spotted a small white kitten near the alley trying to make cover in a box

you instantly felt bad for the poor kitten due to the harsh weather conditions and it looked like it was lost from it’s mother

you swiftly picked up and tried your best to cover the tiny kitten with your jacket as you made your way inside the dorms

as sangyeon open the door he instantly smiled seeing your face giving you a cheek on this kiss

“what’s that sound?” he wondered as he heard the faint meows coming from your jacket

removing your jacket sangyeon saw the small kitten that was in your hands

“i found him outside, i couldn’t just leave him out there. do you think we can keep him?” you asked hopefully giving sangyeon your doe eyes

he sighed “i don’t know baby, we’re both really busy with our schedules.. he should be with a family where they can properly take care of him”

you nodded hating that he was right, you knew that you couldn’t take care of pet when you had a full time job and sangyeon had his idol responsibilities

you smiled as you saw a light brown one with his long whiskers, in a way it reminded you of jacob

as you told the seller that was the animal you wanted, you bought all the corresponding items you would need like food, treats, toys, and a cage with a matching bowl set for his food and water

once you had everything you needed you made your way to the dorms to surprise jacob with your new pet

as you knocked on the door jacob answered noticing the huge cage covering your entire face and half your upper body

he laughed “what on earth did you buy?” trying to peek through the cage grabbing it from you with ease setting it on top of the dining table

“something that reminds of me of you” you smiled

“that’s funny because i don’t see a golden retriever anywhere” he teased

“this is better! just close your eyes” you instructed as jacob did was he was told

once you knew his eyes were closed you opened the cage and grabbed the rabbit holding it in your arms “okay open!”

when jacob opened eyes he saw the small brown rabbit in your hands “aw… you got a rabbit?” he asked scooping it from your hands wanting to see it closer

“yes!” you squealed not hiding your excitement as jacob set him down on the floor so that he could hop around

“well it’s super cute, and it suits you so well” he said giving you a kiss on the cheek before he continued “now c’mon i have more surprises for my birthday girl”

you loved younghoon, you pretty much had the perfect little family including your little poodle bori

but when your friend texted you that her maltese dog had a litter of puppies you couldn’t deny that you wanted one, they were just so precious

you kept hinting at younghoon all week that you really wanted to snag one of your friend’s puppies

“younghoon look at this cute picture again” you grinned showing him your phone

“they are cute baby but we already have bori” he said glancing at the picture

you ultimately decided on the runt of the litter which was a boy and the smallest out of all the puppies

it was fun weekend when your sibling asked you to take care of their pet hedgehog

at first you weren’t even going to mention it to hyunjae since he was busy but he decided to surprise you at your apartment one evening

that’s when he noticed the small cage in your living room that definitely wasn’t there before

“hey babe what’s this? did you get a pet?” he wondered curiously

“oh! no i didn’t i’m just watching him for the weekend while my sibling is out of town” you replied heading to the kitchen to get dinner started

as hyunjae opened the cage to get a closer look at the hedgehog it quickly curled up into a ball out of anxiousness pricking hyunjae’s fingers

“ah! it feels like needles” he nearly screamed closing the cage quickly

as you ran back into the living room to see what the commotion was all about you saw the hedgehog still curled up in a ball in the corner of his cage

“aw hyunjae you scared him” you said opening up the cage grabbing him carefully

the hedgehog slowly peeked out of his little ball and started to relax in your hands

hyunjae came up behind you laying his head on your shoulder trying to get a better look at the hedgehog’s face

“it looks cute, but he still hurt my hand” he whined playfully

rolling your eyes at him you set the hedgehog back inside the cage where he started to walk freely

you grabbed hyunjae’s hand giving it a small kiss trying to make him feel better

“it hurts here too babe” he said pointing to his lips smirking

you chuckled as you leaned in giving him a small peck

「 Lee Juyeon 」

you were visiting juyeon during practice when he finally met your pet turtle for the first time

it was a yellow-bellied slider turtle and it was still small enough that it fit in the palm of your hand

you walked in the studio with your small portable cage and saw juyeon practicing alone to new dance moves for the boyz next comeback

he smiled when he saw you through the mirror reflection turning around walking towards you giving you a peck on the lips

when he pulled apart he noticed the tiny cage in your hands

“hey babe, you didn’t have to come all this way to see me. i was gonna head to the dorms after” he said

“i know, but i wanted you to finally my meet my pet turtle. i’ve had him ever since i was little” you smiled taking your turtle out of the cage handing him over to juyeon

“he’s super cute” he commented as the turtle kept sticking its head in and out of his shell

as you both sat down on the floor you grabbed a little bit of juyeon’s fruit from the table and started to feed your turtle

juyeon laughed at how slowly the turtle was eating

“that was all the food i had for practice and it’s gonna take him at least 5 years to eat it all” he teased as you giggled in response

after dating for about a month kevin finally decided to visit your apartment for the first time

chanhee gave you a confused look as far as he knew it was just you and him that were gonna do the vlive together

once you came back into the room chanhee turned his chair to greet the new acquaintance but the first thing you heard was his screams

it was a nice sunny day when you and changmin decided to take a walk through the city

it was a spontaneous day, doing everything that caught you and changmin’s eye like the cafe and shopping

as you both were making your way home that’s when you spotted the pet store asking changmin if you can go in

“changmin-a, can we go there?” you asked pointing to the pet store

“of course babe, i was thinking about getting some new fish” he grinned grabbing your hand

as you both walked around the store looking at the various fishes and reptitles that’s when you saw a cage full of adorable hamsters

“aw changmin look how cute these are, they look just like you! especially that one” you pointed laughing at the individual hamster in the corner eating with its cheeks puffed

changmin laughed showing his adorable smile agreeing before asking the seller if he could hold one

the seller opened the cage and handed changmin a hamster to hold

you quickly took out your polaroid camera as changmin started to pose with the hamster

the rest of the day was spent taking pictures with all the animals in the pet store

「 Juhaknyeon 」

it was a chill day spending it haknyeon on his rare day off

as you two were watching t.v with your head on his lap you were casually scrolling through your phone

that’s when you saw an ad for a chameleon that was for sale

you didn’t know much about chameleon’s besides thet fact that they were really cool looking and that their skin camouflaged itself to hide from prey

you gently tapped on haknyeon who was slowly starting falling asleep

“haknyeon look someone is selling their pet chameleon” you said lightly trying to wake him up

“hmm? that’s nice babe” he replied still half asleep

“can we go and see it?” you asked hopefully

“mm, sure babe” he murmured bending down to kiss your forehead before falling back asleep

a couple of days later you were seeing the chameleon for the first time even though haknyeon barely rememberd the conversation on going

“this is him” the older lady introduced you two to her loving chameleon adding “would you like to hold him?”

you nodded enthusiastically as she grabbed the chameleon and placed it on your forearm

haknyeon lightly touched his back commenting on the odd texture

you then placed it on top of haknyeon’s forearm and saw the chameleon changing colors to haknyeon’s jacket

“wow, this is officially the coolest pet ever let’s get him” haknyeon’s said smiling

「 Kim Sunwoo 」

kim sunwoo loved you, in fact he adored you. in his eyes you could do no wrong

but he also loved the two lovebirds you had together as pets as they reminded him of your relationship

the birds were always together, eating, sleeping, and flying simultaneously

the male lovebird had a black face with a grey body and his name was jae

while the female was light blue with white body with her name being eun

he especially loved it whenever he would come home from practice and they would fly all over the dorm

“sunwoo wait, jae is on top of your head” you giggled as sunwoo entered the apartment taking off his shoes

you pointed your index finger outward as jae flew on top of it landing easily

jae quickly flew over to his wooden play stand walking to eun as she was eating from the bird feeder

sunwoo pulled you close wrapping his arms around your waist pressing light kisses in the crook of your neck from behind

“how was your day?” he murmured in between kisses

you moaned in response “so much better now that you’re here”

sunwoo smiled as you both heard the the faint chirps from jae and eun in the background

one of the reasons you loved hanging out with eric was because he always made you feel like a little kid again

it was his idea to spend the day with you at an amusement park where you two went on countless rides and ate all the junk food you can eat

you both decided that it would be best to take a break from all the rides and go to the park’s animal exhibit

“wow babe come look a this” eric exclaimed excitedly pulling your hand running towards the reptile exhibit

you giggled in response at his energy following right behind

Hi! I've been devouring your Digimon meta lately, and I was hoping I could ask you a (hopefully simple) question. I think there's a general fandom perception of Mimi as boy-crazy, but I can't actually come up with any canon that states she's romantically interested in boys. The closest I have is the Mini Drama 2 CD, where she just fantasizes about boys being interested in *her*. However, there are definitely gaps in my Digimon knowledge, so I put this one to you. Does Mimi canonically like boys?

Hello! First of all, thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you're enjoying the meta!

So for clarity's sake, I'm going to be assuming we're talking about the Japanese version of Mimi and not the American English dub version, because although I still have general familiarity with it and its major changes enough to be able to roughly describe the changes, I can't remember things to the level of detail I do with the Japanese version, and to be honest, if said dub did have a line like that, I wouldn't be surprised. But as far as the Japanese version goes, you are correct: Mimi does not express romantic interest in boys, or in fact anyone, at any point, and in fact you have a better case for her not being particularly on the hard lookout for a partner at any time we saw her. Elaboration under the cut!

There are a few reasons why I think that fandom perception might have happened, but the first one is simply cultural. Mimi’s archetype in the Japanese version is recognizable as one you’d call the “parents’ spoiled little princess” kind, where the emphasis is more on her being sheltered and pampered and generally growing up in comfort (especially since her parents were upper middle class). So in other words, while it’s easy to see her as “shallow” based on her actions of complaining often in the beginning parts of the series, it’s more in the sense that she wasn’t used to dealing with hardships or having to physically get around everywhere, and she was otherwise a very insightful, polite, and empathetic person. She’s also one of the most adherent to proper honorifics among the entire cast, so, again, you see her a bit like a “proper princess”. In fact, it’s probably because of this slight sense of distance and formal respect she treats everyone with that it often becomes difficult to interpret her actions towards others as romantically loaded, and it’s presumably why Koushirou/Mimi became such a dominant ship on the Japanese side to the point of nearly every other Mimi ship being rarepair there (because Koushirou is just about the only person you can really make that argument for when they had no less than three major interactions -- Adventure episode 10, Mini Drama 2, and Diablomon Strikes Back -- that entailed Mimi getting a bit petulant about the idea of not getting Koushirou-kun’s attention).

However, I think a lot of people on our end of the fanbase have a tendency to want to pigeonhole Mimi into a very textbook “cliquey materialistic girly girl” framework, which of course was helped along by said American English dub definitely assigning many of those associated tropes to her character. Things like “lacking in common sense”, “looking down on others”, “judging everything by appearances”, “constantly making everything about shopping”, you know the package -- whereas Japanese version Mimi always erred more on the side of polite, any concept of being fixated on appearances only showed up very rarely, even her variety of clothes in 02 was portrayed more as her being open-minded to experimentation rather than materialism filling her head, and she was borderline incapable of being particularly condescending, being rather empathetic and insightful instead.

This, incidentally, is why I find that you really need to be careful when buying into fandom rhetoric about just about anything, and not necessarily listen to everything the fanbase treats as truth just because it’s been circulating for 20 years or so, because while the series itself of course has some aspects that haven’t aged well, there are many ways it was ahead of its time and intent on not forcing its characters into certain boxes, but -- to be blunt about it -- the fandom that formed 20 years ago was far more guilty of internalized misogyny, heteronormativity, and stereotype/trope forcing in regards to its characters than the actual series was, with said takes based on those still circulating even now just because so many people have treated it like longtime fact. (You have no idea how much it irritates me that I still have to hear discourse accusing Sora of “friendzoning” Taichi in this year 2021.) Again, not really helped by the heavy impact of the American English dub even on non-dub discourse and the fact it was rather guilty of forcing the characters into the trope boxes itself, but even then, the longtime fanbase has a penchant for absolutely taking things way farther than even said dub did. So while I wouldn’t put it past said dub to have inserted a line or something about wanting to chase after cute guys, I think it’s more likely to simply be a byproduct of the general stereotype that the sort of “cliquey materialistic girly girl” must also completely lose her mind over cute boys, resulting in a lot of people in the fanbase attempting to cram Mimi into that stereotype.

So in regards to how Mimi herself is portrayed in regards to relationships and romance: well, in general, Adventure and 02 were the kind of series that wanted to portray its children with an extra touch of realism from how media tropes would usually do it (case in point, it’s meant as an archetype subversion that Mimi is of the sheltered princess archetype but is also genuinely empathetic and insightful). In the end, the kids were only in elementary and middle school, and it is kind of prominent that things like Daisuke and Miyako’s crushes on others are very much treated as the sort of somewhat shallow, didn’t-seriously-think-through-this kind of mild attraction (no commitment to anything) you’d get out of eleven- or twelve-year-old kids, and the one “prominent” relationship of Yamato and Sora involved two fourteen-year-olds who treated it as a hookup (no dramatic romance plot, just one person asking the other to try out dating) and kept their relationship as a footnote in public. In the case of Mimi, she was certainly depicted as being somewhat of a social butterfly by the time of 02, but there’s no indication she was interested in anyone in her periphery as anyone but friends -- in fact, in Armor Evolution to the Unknown, she very casually refers to getting chocolate for everyone around her in the form of “social courtesy chocolate for friends”, which is explicitly drawn as a contrast to Sora getting the more romantically-loaded kind for Yamato (her boyfriend). In fact, I would say that Mimi’s attitude in that entire scene arguably says a lot about her -- she brings up the comparative gender egalitarianism of Valentine’s Day in the US compared to Japan without making a big deal about it, and she’s also the one who takes a minute to analyze Sora’s relationship prospects with Yamato, so I would say it’s actually more likely Mimi’s own potential pursuit of a partner would involve being thoughtful about whether she’d want to spend a long-term relationship with them rather than just casually clinging to anyone she finds attractive.

Now, there is one character you could call “boy-crazy”, and that’s Miyako, although even then Miyako also plays with the trope by being less so “boy-crazy” and more “a twelve-year-old girl who has absolutely no filter whenever she finds someone to be attractive” (especially since Miyako’s own self-esteem is utterly shot, and so she’s not the type to feel up to trying anything besides just being a bit too blunt about complimenting and gushing about the other party). It’s understandable that Miyako and Mimi sharing a Crest might make one inclined to compare them, but in fact, 02 episode 14 has Miyako explicitly compare her own tendency to judge by appearances and shallowness negatively and in contrast to Mimi, meaning that Miyako acknowledges that Mimi, whom she admires, does not have those traits of shallowness and handles everything much more maturely. So Mimi really can’t be described as that kind of archetype at all, and Miyako spends the episode constantly recognizing that Mimi is much more thoughtful and capable of getting to the heart of things than she is.

Moreover, while the stage play came after 02 and may not be considered applicable Adventure universe canon to many people, I find it to be an interesting case study of an example of a writer studying the series very closely (there is some very good attention to detail with the original series, and Tani “showed his work” very well with it) without preconceived notions from the fandom. The stage play has Mimi admit explicitly that she’s not interested in anyone at the moment, having only momentarily lied about it in the hopes Sora could open up about her own love life -- which Mimi explicitly contrasts with having lied about not being interested in her future, when in fact she wants to do so many things she can’t commit to one. So it reinforces the idea that something like a relationship would be something Mimi would treat with gravity and as something she’d want to have proper commitment to, but she won’t when it’s a time in her life she’s having a hard time figuring out commitment to anything.

And, finally, as you mentioned, there’s Mini Drama 2, but as you say, it’s Mimi joking that all the boys must be into her (because she’s attractive) and that “all of the boys in the world will be kneeling before me before long” -- and the reason she throws a fit is that Hikari indirectly implies that the love letter Koushirou’s writing could not possibly be for Mimi, which Mimi interprets as Hikari indirectly trying to pick a fight with her or insult her by acting like it’s such an impossibility. Knowing that Hikari is well-known for being capable of passive-aggressively trolling, and in fact is very heavily implied to be doing so in this scene, it’s not like Mimi’s entirely wrong, either. (Also, the Adventure mini dramas are infamously full of fourth wall-breaking and characterization-irreverent crack -- it wasn’t until the 2003 drama CDs when actual “serious” drama CDs would become more of a thing -- so it should be taken with a grain of salt.)

You know what ticks me off about what Bryke did to Aang?

They basically didn’t let him interact with the other characters to make him grow into a better person. It was always about Katara.

Like there was when Zuko and Aang went with each other to the Sun Warrior Island, but all of a sudden in TSR, “Zuko’s bad, and we have to make him bad to let the audience know that he’s not a right match for Katara!”

...Like, didn’t Zuko have a redemption arc? And now he’s bad again? ...Clearly I’m missing something here.

I mean, what about other characters? This show is about character growth, so why not let Aang grow into a better person. I’m not saying he isn’t, but he’s clearly a child with a child-like view. Unless the person LIVED through the whole trauma of a genocide, then you don’t listen to what that person preaches about forgiveness and not kill and whatnot. He hasn’t seen or DONE anything like that. Like he could’ve talked about fighting with Sokka, even Suki. They would tell him how they’d strike first and whatnot and make sure the enemy is down. That would make him question his morals a little bit. I mean, he could just knock them out, not really kill them(kind of like Batman, you know?).

Oh, and Toph...come on, Aang, she’s your age, at least talk to her a little bit! She’d even gone through some tough crap that you can probably ask her about....(and maybe develop a little crush on later) 

But it was always Katara...it’s like, dude, you got other friends, ask for their advice that isn’t LOVE advice. You’re freaking twelve, your mind isn’t that advanced yet to think about actual true love. But of course, romance(!), because Bryke can’t think of anything else interesting.

Honestly, I’m really seeing the flaws with Canon Aang now. We tend to forget that he’s portrayed as a 12-year-old boy in ATLA, when we really think he’s this all-knowing kid that...ran away, got frozen in an iceberg for 100 years, and the next thing he thinks after being awakened is penguin sledding with a cute older girl that he, for the first time, sees after being released in the iceberg? Not only that, but he really didn’t fully control his Avatar State. He didn’t even mention it to anybody else, BUT Katara. And he mentioned it just two times, TWO TIMES, to her in season 3(I think). 

Man, the writing quality on season 3 of ATLA is jarring, and it’s sad that nobody notices it. They automatically say it’s the perfect show. I’m sorry, but from all the flaws in the writing of s3(and believe me, there are FLAWS, not only in Aang) and wasted character interactions that Aang could’ve had with the other characters, BESIDES Katara? You’re just gonna ignore that? Granted, you don’t think about it the first time you watch it, but when you watch it again...and a third time...and maybe a fourth time...you can see the flaws.

And while on the topic of Bryke, apparently, they think the show is about romance. And honestly, I’m starting to believe Aang is a self insert of Mike. He doesn’t even hide it in ATLA and LOK(which I will never watch), without the tattoo on his head, his facial structure is there. As you may know, I hold no high regards to Bryke, especially Mike, but Aang is really becoming evident that he’s nothing more than Mike’s super 13-year-old fantasy self-insert of being the hero who gets the girl. Believe me, I had that phase happened to me too...when I was 13. I mean, granted I wasn’t winning a girl at the time, but I watched a lot of Dragonball Z...yeah, take that to account. X( 

Either way, this fandom has gotten so toxic now on how they think Aang was right and is such a hero, when...they just forgot about HOW his genocide was started(him running away), that he’s just 12 in a war-torn world that only held on to his simple child-like belief that everything would be a-okay if we just forgive and hug and hopefully they won’t stab us in the back, and on how his obsessive feelings with Katara is so unhealthy. And it really is, people. He has a world to save, he doesn’t have time to score a girl, especially at his age. 

And as for him finding someone else who isn’t Katara down the road in life...well, hey, Toph’s right there! And I’m sure she would grow up too to be an even better person in life! I mean, kids mature and age, people! You think Aang is really gonna focus on ONE girl? Come on, Aang is clearly a guy, he’ll grow up and find other women attractive. I mean, look at Suki! XP 

It’s just...s3′s writing later on and maybe in the middle of it is so contrived and unrealistic, it needs to be questioned. 

Oh, and don’t tell me that the Air Nomads didn’t fight back against the Fire Nation Army when they attacked their temples, which three things on that: 

1. When the Fire Nation attacked, what do you think the Air Nomads were gonna do; sit down, drink tea, and negotiate a bit? 

2. I honestly think there had to been MORE Air Nomads laying low in the Avatar world, but that wasn’t explored...thanks Bryke. -_-x 

3. And saying that the Air Nomads were a ‘pure race’ is such a pile of bullcrap. If that’s the case, then Aang escaping from his duties as Avatar the first time around wasn’t so ‘pure’, was it? Since, you know, doing this caused an Air Nomad GENOCIDE. And again, the temples where the skeletons of the dead Air Nomads indicated that they FOUGHT the Fire Nation to the death, which skeletons of FIRE NATION SOLDIERS were littered across the floor!? Gee...sounds kind of pure, doesn’t it?

Okay, well, this is a long rant, so I’ll stop here. But I hope you all get what I’m saying with all of this. Aang needed to grow. He needed to be challenged. He needed his morals and beliefs questioned. It makes him more of an interesting character. Yet Bryke...chose the lazy, uninspiring, and quite frankly, cowardly way out of telling Aang is right and no one questions him on it. He didn’t have guidance from his other friends, just his love for Katara to guide him. Which is NOT good enough, I’m sorry. It’s just selfish. Plain and simple as that. 

Bryke(or Mike to be precise) wanted to be the Hero...but at what cost?

Body swap au pt 1

I don’t know how many here has even watched Koro q but I actually like it a lot! I adore the art style lol. One of my favorite episodes is number 8 where they all swap bodies. But all the students weren’t shown in the episode, only a handful of them (like kind of the more important ones).

So this is just a body swap au where the class is visiting Hawaii for a project and they enter an ancient cave and one of the students accidentally touches a gemstone that switches the bodies of whoever is inside the cave and lasts for 24 hours. Which student touched the stone? That’s up to your interpretation.

What we already know

From the koro q episode, we know who switched with who:

Isogai <- -> Maehara

Nagisa <- -> Karma

Chiba <- -> Hayami

Okajima <- -> Kataoka

Kayano <- -> Yada

Itona <- -> Korosensei

Irina <- -> Karasuma

But we’re gonna switch that up. Hopefully this will be easy to follow and understand. Believe me writing this little interactions for each of them with swapped bodies was tough and confusing for me XD. But you get the idea right? Just think about Koro q episode 8 but this time, adding more characters and different switches.

Isogai<- -> Okajima

Okajima becoming an ideal perfect guy all the girls want and Isogai as a pervert sounds so weird for them but funny in a way! And since we know that their bugs and abilities in the anime are carried over, it makes it more weirder and a blessing for Okajima lol. Here’s how this would go in my head:

Okajima: did we just…switch bodies? *looks at everyone else*

Isogai: Aw man! I wish I was switched with a girl so I can explore more. Oh well, I can live with this. Now I’ll be more popular with the ladies than ever before!

Okajima: *trying to calm some of the students down* Calm down everyone. We’ll be ok as long as we don’t do anything we’re not supposed to *looks at Isogai*

Kataoka <- -> Kanzaki

Me and Luna were stuck on who Kataoka would switch with. But they felt Kanzaki would be ideal (no one knows Kanzaki more than them!). Kanzaki isn’t known to be a leader in canon. She kinda remains quiet and keeps things to herself most of the time in the background. While Kataoka is the opposite.

Kanzaki: *sighs* Is this what I’m gonna have to live with for the next 24 hours? *some boys on the beach are standing in front of her admiring her beauty as usual while she’s pushing them away*

Kataoka: *smiles as the real Kanzaki would* unfortunately.

Sugino <- -> Chiba

While someone who is very friendly and outgoing switched bodies with someone who is a little quiet and overall kind, but also comes off as a badass sniper, I’d say this swap would be cool to watch. Chiba being the next baseball champion and actually talking a lot to his friend group and Sugino turns edgy

Sugino: well this sucks…

Chiba: whoa! I’m Chiba now? Wait, where’s Kanzaki? *turns around to find Kanzaki who is actually in Kataoka’s body surrounded by the other boys on the beach* HEY! STAY AWAY FROM HER!

Kanzaki: *from the sidelines facepalming* oh brother…

Fuwa <- -> Hayami

Again we have the two opposite females of the class swapped. The idea of Hayami talking on and on about her favorite manga and Fuwa being the other badass sniper is just so funny XD

Fuwa: *not even the least bit bothered by the switch* this is strange…

Hayami: whoa! This scenario reminds me of a manga about these two characters that switch bodies. I recently read before we came here! What a coincidence right?

Fuwa: almost like you predicted this would happen…

Okano <- -> Okuda

I love the idea of Okano being a chem nerd instead of a physics nerd in this case! Imagine her with glasses like Okuda or the square frame one omggg. And then we have Okuda in Okano’s flexible body. Okuda just does her signature move and Okano is just like freaking out and doesn’t know what to think of being in her body

Okano: uh…um…what’s going on?

Okuda: I think we switched bodies! So does that mean I can still do this? *pulls the splits then proceeds to do a high roundhouse kick accidentally knocking out Okajima* whoops, sorry!

Okano: hhhhngggg!…Okano! *internally having a crisis*
