Let’s be real, we would be seeing a lot more of dark!Percy after the war. Like the scene with the toilets? That would happen a lot. Especially in times when he’s just trying to enjoy his new life with Annabeth and some monster tries them, he’d have no struggles slicing them to pieces in seconds. And if it’s a person trying to threaten them, Percy would go berserk. All his life he’s been a pretty good boy, and he’s tried to be decently noble within his battles, but now if someone even hints at hurting Annabeth, he’ll go to any extent to make sure they know just how serious he is. Sometimes it scares Annabeth, because she knows the change in behavior is because of her, but she can’t do much to change it. Plus, she wouldn’t be the first to admit that he looked pretty hot when he was mad. Percy had made his mind up that anyone who tries to get in the way of his future wife will be sent straight to Tartarus.

Idk where “Percy is an idiot” came from in the fandom. After rereading the series as an adult it’s remarkable how empathic and self conscious this kid is. You can tell that this is a kid who had to grow up early because he was always facing situations that involved him being punished for his actions. Most of which he can’t help due to his adhd, age, and being a half blood.

He was never carefree. Like ever. Every good day he had, he’s been treating as temporary like he doubts he’d get another one. Counting down till something goes wrong. Every interaction with another person is detailed with analysis of how he is interpreting their feelings and actions.

His impulses stem directly from feelings of injustice, either to himself or for others. He does things irrationally because he feels there isn’t a better choice in his situation than throwing himself in. Boy really hits the “I guess we’ll see if I die” button every time. It’s kinda concerning bc of how suicidal it is.

So no I don’t really see these headcanons of Percy embarking on shenanigan’s with Leo because most of the stupid shit he’s done has been with Annabeth, and the stuff he’s done on his own have been to sacrifice himself or help another person out.

I don’t see him encouraging it either. Especially when it comes to Estelle in the future. No way is he going to let her do half of the stuff he did bc in his head he was really ready to die when he did those things.

This is probably why he is so attached to Annabeth. He loves her rebellious side which is fueled by her pride and confidence, but at the same time is so close to her bc of the amount of times he’s had to save her from herself.

Their flaws are almost foils. His unwavering loyalty stemming from his own worthlessness coupled with her pride that drives her to prove her worth.

Just by reading all their interactions alone Percy has more reason to be stressed by Annabeth than Annabeth about him.

Headcannon that Percy's eyes slowly get darker as he starts controlling other liquids. His eyes start to become greener, and that scares the f out of people because they have no idea why he is able to bend blood of the monsters and his eyes are changing color. He goes numb and can't hear anything when he's ✨bloodbending✨ and dark thoughts take over him and he makes monsters explode within a blink and his power keeps going out of control and the earth trembles under him (he's literally the son of the earth shaker) and all the water bodies are not calm anymore until annabeth lays a hand on his shoulders and stops him before he blows up the earth. Rating Odd Parts of The PJO Fandom I Grew Up On

PJO was a really essential part of my childhood. I started reading the books when I was eight or nine, and I then had a subsequent obsession with them that lasted years. Once I "joined the fandom" at the age of like... 11 ("joined the fandom" as in looking up "Percy Jackson memes" on the family laptop and scrolling through Google Images for hours), it kind of sculpted my image of online interactions and fandom itself.

However!

There are some sides of the PJO fandom that I jumped into headfirst without thinking, just assuming since the people in the screenshots I saw were saying this stuff, EVERYONE in fandom did, and it was normal and okay. Some of them aren't bad, per se, just odd things I've never seen anywhere else. And with the release of Chalice of The Gods, I've taken a trip down memory lane with this fandom. So, without further ado: Rating odd parts of the PJO fandom.

1: Dark Percy. 7/10. Dark Percy was always such a weird phenomenon to me, partially because I just wanted Percy to be happy, but now I kind of get it? I guess it's the angst? I don't really know. I do, however, thanks to Callum, now know how weirdly fun it is to see a normally upbeat and bright main character go absolutely BATSHIT for his girl, so...

2: Toxic, gatekeeping, abusive fanon Percabeth. -10000/10. Ew, ew, ew. Say what you will about actually canon Percabeth being abusive, but the amount of headcanons about Percy telling all the boys at CHB to stay away from Annabeth because "Sweet protective bf" is extremely disturbing.

3: The collective-ish OC "Pearl". 5/10. I swear, in HALF of the OC-themed headcanon I used to see, they would all be about some girl named Pearl. have no problem with the headcanons about Percy's little sister, about a new daughter of Poseidon, so ten points for that. They don't interest me very much, but people seem to like them, so it's fine. However, five points redacted because of how much people ship her with Nico. HE IS GAY.

“NO” a scream, a soul shattering scream tore out of Percy as he sprinted towards Annabeth’s falling body. He missed her by just an inch, his fingertips brushing her arm just as her body produced a sickening thud. All he could do was to gather her battered body into him, pressing hard on the hole in her stomach. Too much blood was gushing out and Percy could only watched helplessly as life flowed out of her.

“Percy-“ so much sadness and rawness was in one word, Annabeth looked at Percy for the last time, and with a shuddering breath, Annabeth was dead.

This all happened in a matter of a minute, but that minute would be playing in Percy’s mind forever.

“No no no, Annabeth, wise girl, please wake up, please,” Percy whispered, he could not, would never believe that his wise girl was gone forever. He would go into the underworld to find her, he would bargain, fight the Gods, he would do anything to get his Annabeth back. But he didn’t even have the luxury to grief, the monsters were advancing fast and Tartarus was merciless. With one last look at his beloved’s face, Percy looked up and all the monsters paused. Some even took a step back and a silence that had never descend before Tartarus filled the air and for the first time, even the monsters felt fear.

Gently, Percy laid Annabeth down, kissing her forehead lightly before getting up. Riptide was gripped loosely in one hand, and as if the monsters had all collectively decided it was now or never, they all lunged at the same time, claws and fangs and swords out. Without even raising a finger, all the monsters exploded. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. Their blood or ichor or whatever liquid in them exploded out of their body and for a second, Tartarus was filled with the most bloodcurdling scream, then it was over. Percy was covered head to toe in dust, and some of it got on Annabeth too.

Percy barely noticed the silence, all he heard was Percy Percy Percy and whatever was left unspoken replaying in his head like a broken record. Numbly, he carried Annabeth’s body in his arms and continued on to the doors of death. When the monsters had regenerated and tried to attack him, without even looking in their direction he made them explode. Soon enough, no monsters dared attack him and he walked on, not once resting, pausing only to drink the fire.
