Another Chance to Live Part 2 (Ana Maria Crnogorčević x Reader)
Summary: Ana has to play against her former club with your former team. You do your best to support each other and slowly become closer.
Part 1
Tumblr media
A/N: It took me a bit longer to re-read and edit this than I thought since it made me emotional because of another transfer that I'm still in denial about 😭
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this next part. I'm always happy to hear what you think or what you'd like to see in this story.
Just like you had hoped, Ana and you continued to hang out regularly. In fact you spent most of your days off together and even met up fairly often in the evenings, relaxing either at her or your apartment. More often than not you still couldn’t believe your luck that the Swiss woman actually liked being around you too.
You made sure to steer away from any deep topics though, keeping in mind that Ana preferred when you offered distractions when she seemed unhappy. It wasn’t always easy for you because you wanted to know everything about her and you longed to comfort the blonde when she looked at you with sad eyes. However you understood that she had other people, better friends, that she could talk these things over with.
On the other hand Ana with her sweet and caring nature always asked how you were doing and offered to listen to your problems the moment she picked up that something was bothering you. The desire to tell her everything was almost unbearable at times. You wanted to unload all the things weighing on your heart , well maybe not everything, you would never reveal your feelings for her, but other things like the situation at your club or with your family.
However you didn’t. You successfully kept yourself from spilling your sorrows to Ana. For one you didn’t want to burden the Swiss woman with your problems, she had enough going on without you adding to it. And also you didn’t want her to know that she was the only person you would actually feel comfortable opening up to. It was a painful reminder that Ana was so much more important to you than you were to her.
A few days before Atlético was due to play Barcelona in Madrid the two of you were hanging out again. You had cooked some food together and then settled down in front of the TV for the night. You could tell that the Swiss woman was having a hard time focusing on the show you were watching, even though she had picked it.
Ana kept sighing quietly and glancing over at you. You in turn did your best to distract her, offering up your thoughts about what you were seeing on TV. It was getting increasingly difficult not to ask the blonde what was going on.
‘She prefers a distraction. She doesn’t want to talk about it, at least not with you. What she wants from you is a distraction, so try to find some interesting or funny things to say for crying out loud!’ You reminded yourself over and over again.
You were searching your brain to find something good to say when Ana broke the silence. “Can I ask you something?” She asked timidly.
The insecurity in Ana’s voice took you by surprise, that was really unlike her. But you didn’t dwell on it; instead you quickly assured the Swiss woman that she could always ask you anything.
“Okay, so…It’s not really a question but a favor. And it’s totally fine for you to say no, don’t feel bad at all if you say no! Especially because it puts you in a bit of an awkward situation. You know what, I’m just now realizing how stupid and selfish this is and I just changed my mind.”
You reached out to place your hand on Ana’s thigh, hoping to comfort and calm the clearly agitated woman this way.
“Hey, don’t worry. Just ask me. I have no doubt that the answer will be yes,” you encouraged her.
There wasn’t a single thing you could think of that you wouldn’t do for Ana. Well maybe there were some things, most of them illegal in one way or another, but you doubted that the Swiss woman was going to ask for any of them.
Ana took a deep breath before rushing out her request, “Would you come watch our game this week? The idea of seeing all of my former teammates again really hurts and it would help me so much if I knew you were there. I understand that it’s a lot to ask because my team is your former team, so like I said…”
„Yes, of course I’ll come, it’s the least I can do,” you interrupted the Swiss woman.
Sure you weren’t too keen on going back to Atlético’s stadium and see all of your former teammates play together without you, but the simple fact that Ana asked you to come and even said it would help her, was enough to forget all about that. Who cared if it would make you a little sad? Who cared if maybe some people would come up to you and bring up the still painful transfer? You definitely didn’t, not if you had a chance to make the blonde feel better.
For some reason Ana seemed taken aback by your answer. “Wait what? It’s the least you can do? What have I ever done for you? If anything I owe you! You keep hanging out with me; you keep showing me amazing places here.”
You scrunched up your nose at the blonde’s words. It didn’t sit right with you that she made it sound like hanging out with her was a chore for you, not when it was the only thing that brought you any joy lately.
“But I love spending time with you!” You cried out, for once completely forgetting to add the obligatory ‘as a friend’.
A soft smile appeared on the Swiss woman’s face when she heard your words, as well as the indignation in your voice.
“The same is true for me,” she was quick to assure you, before focusing once again on her first question. She wouldn’t let you wriggle out of this so easily. “But seriously why do you feel like you need to pay me back in anyway? I don’t remember ever doing anything for you.”
Slight panic began pumping through your veins, as you scrambled to come up with anything better to offer up than ‘You hang out with me when you’re so much better than me and there are surely so many better people in your life that you could hang out with.’ That just wouldn’t do. It was one thing to be pathetic, but another thing to shout it from the rooftops.
“I didn’t really mean it like that. Just that I’m always happy to do anything for you,” you mumbled finally. This time you caught yourself however and quickly continued, “I love being there for my friends.”
Ana didn’t need to know that there was no one else on the planet you would do this for.
“Aw, you’re so sweet,” the blonde cooed, her compliment instantly making you blush. “And I hope you know that I’m always happy to do anything you need as well.”
You nodded instinctively, not believing it for one second. Not that you doubted that Ana would be there for you in a for a friend reasonable manner, but your commitment to her went way beyond that. There was very little the blonde could ask for that you wouldn’t do for her.
Thankfully the conversation moved on to safer topics after thi and you could relax once again. At least as much as you were ever able to relax around the woman you were hopelessly in love with.
---
When you walked to your seat in Atlético’s stadium a few days later you cursed yourself for agreeing to this. With every step you took it felt like the sadness inside of you grew, taking up more and more space until it was almost impossible to breathe.
This was supposed to be your stadium. Your teammates, former teammates you reminded yourself, had often called you the Alexia Putellas or Leah Williamson of Atlético Madrid. Someone that practically bled their team’s color, born and raised there, and honestly set on dying there too.
Not that you had ever been on a level comparable to Alexia or Leah, which had become painfully obvious when Aleti just dropped you like you were a piece of trash. You hadn’t told anyone this yet, but after that conversation you had seriously considered giving up football once and for all. The thought of playing anywhere else had been ripping you apart. But in the end the idea of not playing the sport you loved at all anymore had been even harder to bear.
You thanked your lucky star that you at least made it to your seat without anyone approaching you. At this point you weren’t sure if you would be able to keep it together if anyone spoke to you. Maybe the people around you could read as much on your face because you could definitely hear some whispering and felt a lot of gazes resting on you, but miraculously people kept their distance.
Although it was possible you were wrong about seemingly everyone watching you. You didn’t look around to check if the stares you could feel were actually real, instead you made sure to keep your eyes carefully trained on the pitch, avoiding making eye contact with anyone, which might inadvertently  give them the courage to come up to you.
So you sat there, totally rigid, every fiber of your body tense, wishing for the seconds to pass by as quickly as possible, but somehow that only made them crawl slower than a snail. Maybe you should just leave, come up with an excuse why you had to go. Was this really worth it?
You got your answer the moment Ana entered the pitch, looking around the stadium searchingly. The instant she spotted you a big smile appeared on the blonde’s face, all of the tightness leaving her body momentarily.
Yes, this was worth it. Ana was worth this and so much more.
You kept thinking of the Swiss woman’s happiness and relief at seeing you when people got bolder during half time, walking up to you to tell you that they missed you at Atlético, that it wasn’t the same without you and that they would never forgive the club for their treatment of you. Empty words since they were here supporting them right now.
Not that you wanted them to turn their backs on the team. You understood having conflicting feelings, your own probably the most complicated of them all. Being back in this stadium you played so many of your games, made you furious and sad, but it also filled you with a longing to go back and brought about a sense of worthlessness. Why hadn’t you been good enough to keep around?
Despite Ana’s best effort to act nonchalant you saw the signs of her struggles clearly, even from the relative distance of the stands. So throughout the entire game you kept watching the blonde like a hawk, as if you could help her feel better about this by some sort of telepathic connection that required a laser like focus on your end.
This way you observed how tense Ana was when her former teammates hugged her, almost reluctant to accept the loving touches because she knew she wasn’t going to see them again anytime soon after this night.
You also saw how lost the Swiss woman looked on the pitch when the game started. As if she couldn’t quite wrap her head around the fact that she was on the field with the Barça girls, but not as their teammate.
And you noticed that Ana avoided looking over to the traveling Barcelona fans until the game was finished, despite them chanting her name several times. Only once the final whistle was blown did she go over. It seemed impossible from your spot practically on the other side of the stadium, but you were sure you saw the Swiss woman holding back tears as she thanked them profusely.
You kept on watching while Ana talked with her former teammates. She smiled while chatting, but it was a smile filled with sadness. You briefly wondered if the Barça girls could see that as well. Did they even care? Even though you knew this wasn’t their fault at all, you felt an irrational anger towards them. How could they move on from Ana so quickly? They should have raised hell!
If you would have paid the Barça players any attention you would have seen the unhappiness and concern on their faces, clearly missing the Swiss woman a great deal. However your focus lay solely on the blonde.
The moment Ana disappeared into the tunnels, you also began making your way out of the stadium, keeping your head down and brushing off everyone that tried to initiate a conversation with you. They probably thought you were being rude, but you didn’t care. You were on a mission to get to Ana’s car, the agreed upon meeting point, as soon as possible.
If you would have stopped and thought about it for a second you would have realized that there was no way she would be there anytime soon. The Swiss woman still had to shower and stay around for the post match talk, so really there was no rush. Still, you hurried there as fast as you could.
And to be honest you also felt much more comfortable in the parking lot, an area off limits to the public, than in the stadium surrounded by so many curious fans. They had all been friendly and every single one that had spoken to you had stated that they were on your ‘side’, but nonetheless it was a constant reminder of your unwilling departure from your childhood club. And if it were up to you this subject would stay buried underneath heaps of pretending.
Therefore you worked hard to keep your mind away from your own dark thoughts while you waited for Ana, focusing instead on contemplating every possible emotional state the blonde could be in and how you could be a good distraction for her tonight. Because even though the two of you had to leave for your respective national teams tomorrow you had decided to spend the evening together, maybe even have a sleepover.
When the Swiss woman appeared, the first one from the team to get to the parking lot, she was a little out of breath and looked drained. Not physically, but emotionally. You debated giving her a hug, however Ana decided for you by walking directly towards the driver seat and slipping in without pausing for a second.
You assumed that she was just eager to leave, perhaps scared that one of her former teammates would catch up to her and would want to have a prolonged conversation. That was definitely something you were a little anxious about yourself with your own former teammates. Therefore the quick departure suited you just fine.
And when you caught a glimpse of some of your former teammates entering the car park as you drove off, you thanked Ana in your mind.
The truth was that the Swiss woman had actually done it for you. Throughout the night she didn’t have the same opportunity to continuously watch you as you had, but still she kept glancing over at you any chance she got. And Ana had noticed instantly that you didn’t feel comfortable, everything about your posture and your expression had screamed that you wanted to leave. So she had made sure to rush and get you out of there as quickly as she could.
During the car ride home you kept up a constant stream of light chatter, hoping that it posed a good enough distraction for your companion. Now that she was so close, you didn’t dare to outright stare at her like you had done during the game, but with some quick glances now and then you ensured that Ana looked mostly calm, not really happy though.
At your apartment you had everything waiting for a cozy movie night. You ushered Ana to sit down and relax, while you whirled around the apartment getting everything ready. It didn’t take long since you had prepared what you could before leaving for the game.
Once you sat down and flicked on the TV, turning to the Swiss woman with a slightly forced smile, you noticed that something wasn’t right. Ana was chewing her lips nervously, tapping the tips of her fingers together in quick succession.
“Is everything okay?” You blurted out before you could stop yourself. “No wait, I’m sorry, forget that. Let’s just watch the movie, hopefully that will be a good distraction and if not, just tell me. Then we can try something else. Maybe play a game? Or just go to sleep?“
Ana sighed deeply, unhappiness etched on her usually so happy face. Anxiety began freezing your veins; you weren’t doing a good enough job at distracting her. You weren’t good enough.
“Look I know I said that stupid thing about preferring distractions once but I didn’t mean it. I just said it because…” Ana trailed off, looking very uncertain if she should continue.
“What?”
That was the only thing you could think of. The idea that all this time you hadn’t actually been giving the blonde what she craved most, felt like a stab through the middle of your heart. But even more so you wondered, if you hadn’t than why had she still been hanging out with you?
Apparently Ana decided that she did want to explain her reasoning some more. She took a deep breath before she continued talking.
“I only said it because I felt so bad complaining about my transfer to Atlético to you of all people. But I’ve regretted it almost every time we’ve hung out. Because I want to talk with you about it, I want to talk about everything with you. And most of all I want you to talk to me about your own unwanted transfer and how it makes you feel. But I felt weird pushing you to open up about it after I said I didn’t want to talk about mine.”
There was too much in Ana’s explanation that you didn’t know how to deal with, so you focused on the things that were easy for you, “You know you can always talk to me about anything. Please never feel bad about that, I’m always happy to listen! And don’t worry about me, I’m totally fine with my transfer. These things happen and it’s not like Real is a bad team or anything, so I can’t really complain.”
That was a flat out lie of course, you had been complaining a lot about your transfer and you definitely still had strong feelings about it, all of them bad. But Ana didn’t need to worry about that, not when she was struggling with her own club situation.
The Swiss woman scooted closer to you, putting a hand on your thigh. She looked at you seriously and you knew instantly that the Swiss woman didn’t believe a word you had just said.
“Don’t do that, please. It’s okay to struggle. It’s okay to feel bad after being dropped by your club, I know I do and my connection to Barcelona wasn’t even a deep as yours with Atléti.”
The softness of Ana’s voice combined with her words, words that you had been craving to hear for the longest time, brought tears to your eyes. You blinked furiously to get rid of them and quickly diverted your gaze, hopefully blocking the Swiss woman from seeing your watery eyes. Of course you had no such luck.
Ana closed the last few centimeters of distance between you, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. Still, you didn’t turn to meet her eyes. You were fine. The transfer didn’t bother you. At least not enough to cry about it to the Swiss woman.
“Maybe tonight we can just be sad together? I think we both need that,” Ana suggested, her voice quivering.
This made you look up. When you saw that the blonde’s own eyes were also filled with tears your resolve to be strong crumbled. If Ana needed this than you would give it to her. And if it just so happened to align with what you longed for as well that was just a lucky coincidence.
“Okay,” you mumbled and that was all Ana needed. She drew you against her, practically pulling you into her lap.
You held out a second longer but when you felt Ana’s body shaking from her sobs and heard her crying, you didn’t bother to hold yourself back any longer, letting your own tears fall.
And that’s how you stayed for a long time, the two of you falling apart in each other’s arms. You didn’t really talk about anything that night, simply relocating to your bedroom and falling asleep in each other‘s arms once all the tears had been shed.
That was a first for the two of you. At every sleepover before you had kept a careful distance, both of you sleeping on their designated side of the bed, but that night nothing was keeping you apart.

part 2
“Satoru? What color are your eyes?” Geto asks one day, when they’re sprawled on the couch together. Gojo’s head is pillowed on Geto’s chest, where the snakes happily nestle in Gojo’s fluffy hair.
“Hm, blue.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Geto is silent for a long moment.
“I bet they’re magnificent,” Geto says, then startles when Gojo lifts up slightly, one hand tugging underneath the blindfold. “Satoru, whatever you’re planning to do, stop it.”
“Darling, I’ll keep my eyes closed, I promise,” Gojo solemnly swears. He waits until Geto gives his consent before lifting the blindfold off, diligently keeping his eyes glued shut.
Geto observes the shape of his lover’s closed lids, how his eyes contribute to his facial structure, and the white color of his lashes.
“Pretty, right?”
Geto nods. “Hn.”
Geto still doesn’t trust himself without the trusty barrier of the blindfold.
Thus, he brings a hand up to cover Gojo’s closed eyes, and leans in for a kiss.
***
Gojo buys Geto a pair of his own special-grade glasses that block Geto’s entire field of vision, ensuring he can see perfectly fine while others will never make direct eye contact with him.
It’s certainly an adjustment for Geto because the glasses, shaped like visors, feel very restricting. His snakes hiss at the glasses because they don’t don’t like not being able to see Geto’s eyes.
But the glasses do give Geto more confidence in leaving the cottage to prevent him from freezing any innocent bypassers.
***
Once, when Geto is out on his own, he spots a couple kids wearing the same style uniform as Gojo often does. Jujutsu Tech!
Geto decides to watch over them.
Thank fucking god he did, because there’s no way in hell whoever the fuck is in charge just let these kids walk straight into a curse’s domain.
Before Yuji switches with Sukuna, Geto intercepts and annihilates the other special grade, even without the powers of his eyes. Once the job is done, Yuji jogs up to his side.
Yuji: “Hey, thank you so much-GAH?“
At the speed of light, Geto pulls Yuji out of the crumbling domain and disappears.
The first years are completely bamboozled by what happened!
(Yuji: “Gojo-sensei, that special curse showed up again today! Well it didn’t need to help because Kugisaki and Fushiguro and I had everything handled, but I could feel it watching. Isn’t that weird?”
Gojo: “Huh, that is strange indeed.”)
Afterward, Geto presents Sukuna’s finger to Gojo. Gojo realizes Geto was looking after his students, and falls even deeper in love with him.
***
Yuuta learned early on who Geto was because once Geto was watching over him but Rika was not having it! 😭
She was like “Who is this beetch?” and tries to off Geto, who flees and never looks back.
The snakes want to pick a fight with Rika so badly, but Geto has to shush them because he’s not sure even HE could take on this kid’s curse.
Also, Geto is technically supposed to be exorcized. That’s what Gojo told the higher-ups, that he had successfully defeated the infamous curse Geto Suguru.
Gojo has to do damage control, of course.
“You have Rika, and I have Suguru,” Gojo says with a shrug. “Simple as that.”
Beside him, Geto’s jaw drops open from the total lack of explanation by the fool that owns his heart. From behind his glasses, Geto pities the way the wheels furiously turn in Yuuta’s mind.
Rika pops out jus to growl at Geto.
Great. Good talk everyone.
Yuuta: “You’re telling me you’re in love with THE special grade, Geto Suguru, who’s been alive for centuries and has been constantly compared to the king of curses, SUKUNA??”
Gojo gives him a thumbs up while Geto smiles with sharp teeth.
***
Gojo Satoru is known as the strongest sorcerer alive, but that doesn’t stop Geto from being incredibly protective of him. While out on a date, Geto brings up the higher ups that clearly do not give a shit about overworking his beloved.
“Say the word and I’ll kill them.”
“I thought you didn't like killing?” Gojo asks with a cheeky smile. He takes a sip of his milkshake, then bumps his foot against Geto’s under the table.
“Satoru, I’m a curse and they are assholes. It’s the natural order of things,” Geto sniffs. His snakes hiss in agreement, very excited at the prospect of killing for Gojo.
Gojo extends his hand out, palm facing up. Geto slides his hand on top. Interlocking their fingers, Gojo conveys all the adoration he can through his uncovered eyes, hoping it penetrates through the special-grade glasses Geto wears.
“I love you too. My one and only.”

Goldilocks.
Will Ramos x female reader.
Phone sex, masturbation, lingerie, mention of alcohol.
From the anon request: "Oh.my.god. How about “mildly tipsy reader x currently on tour Will”? She FaceTime’s him after a few glasses of wine, she’s feeling good, feeling sexy, and she just wants to show her man all the pretty new lingeries she now owns. Poor, needy boy Will is intrigued and also very turned on, and what happens from now on is up to you, my favorite writer 😉."
They called me their favourite writer and now I have a god complex, thank you. I hope you'll like it as much as I do. Love you very much. 🫶

"Will." You called from the kitchen, pouring another glass of wine when you noticed the empty bottle. "Wiiiiiiilllllllllll."
You called again but got no response.
Right. Will wasn't home, he was on tour with his band and you were home alone for the upcoming weeks.
Life was unfair, but maybe that was what your life was meant to be. You, hot and alone in your apartment while Will travelled the earth. Like a princess trapped in a tower waiting for the return of her prince. What a prince he was. He looked more like Goldilocks than Flynn Rider but you could work with it I guess. I mean, you were dating the dude so yeah Goldilocks would have to work.
Still, your prince charming wasn't home and that was a shame. The bottle was empty, almost like your heart, like a void of loneliness.
But thanks God created technology and Facetime calls because it allowed you to overcome your boredom. It's very determined that you decided to take your phone to Facetime Will. A little drunk and very clumsy you tried to put the phone against the bottle to use it as a stand but that one fell and your phone followed quickly. Unfortunately, it was at that very moment that Will decided to pick up, the camera of the phone facing the ceiling.
"Hey love? Is everything alright?"
"Yeah." You bent over the phone, out of breath for no reason, your hair falling over the screen. "Everything is fine, just dropped my phone. Sorry."
Without measuring your strength you put the phone back on the table, stalling it -successfully this time- against the bottle.
"Hello there." Will smiled, happy to see your face and not the grey ceiling of your home.
"Hey, hi. I'm sorry." Hastingly you tried to place your hair behind your ear to style your cut. "Yeah, hi."
You heard him chuckle on the other side of the screen as he watched you getting ready in the little caller interface.
"You already said that three times. Did you call to talk about all the different ways to greet someone? If so I have a good one: Rise and shine sunshine. What about that, huh?"
He continued his small talk with himself until you focused on him again, your eyes completely blown as your heart raced with happiness just by seeing him.
"Oh my god Will stop." You couldn't restrain your smile anymore as you watched him ramble about stupid things until you won his attention back. "Hey."
"Hello, my dear. Nice to see you again."
Your mind buzzing you just stared at him through the phone, admiring his pretty eyes and his golden locks. What was I saying? Goldilocks, hm?
And just like that the two of you chatted for a bit. It was probably the wine talking but it made you very flirty and bold. Will told you about the tour and you told him about your day at work. Just the usual chit-chat the two of you would have when you found each other in the evening. This time it was just covered in dirty and cheesy jokes. At some point, you told him about your shopping of the day, very excited to show him your new purchases.
Standing up, you missed to spill the bottle and make your phone fall again in the movement. But once on your feet, you spun for him, showing him the pretty black dress you got and how well it was fitting you. Maybe it was also the dress that made you flirty because you were feeling hot as hell in this.
Will clapped his hands in admiration, he was so infatuated with you that he just loved listening to you talk about random stuff that was making you happy. You were so pretty as your eyes got this little light in them that was everything to him. And it would be a lie to say that he did not like this dress on you. Especially the way it was falling just behind your ass. If only you arched a little for him he would be able to see your underwear. Oh god yes, he would love that.
"[...] and that's why I bought it. What do you think, hm? He didn't give you an answer. "Will? Are you even listening?"
"Hm? Yes of course!"
No.
He was lurking at your ass, lurking at the front of your dress and how it was right under your pussy. Fuck. This dress was so short it should be illegal. You arched a brow and leaned over the table to approach the phone, showing him generously your cleavage. Of course, this dress had a cleavage too. Geez life was really unfair.
"And what was I saying?"
You asked and a deafening silence settled between the two of you until Will finally admitted his defeat.
"Alright, I have no fucking idea. I was trying to look at your underwear."
You faked a surprised scoff as you sat down on the chair. Will might not have been drunk but he was honest for sure. Maybe it was his dick talking, maybe it was the loneliness he was feeling or how horny he was as the end of the tour approached but he didn't even try to hide it to make a good impression. You were drunk and hitting on him, he would be dumb to not play along. He was intrigued to see how far this could go.
You didn't know how to respond to his last words but an idea flashed through your mind. In haste, you stood up and grabbed your phone as you headed toward your bedroom.
"Ow- Where are we going?" Will's voice was distorted through the call. Your phone in hand you showed him the floor without caring about the camera. "Are you going to lock me down? You know you can just end the call if you don't want to talk to me. No need to cage me."
He joked but it made you think about the princess and tower story you imagined before and you liked it. As if Will was the princess.
When you finally slowed down you put your phone on the nightstand, facing it with your entire body. It was your moment. He gave you a chance and you were definitely taking it.
"Sooooo?" He asked when he saw you move to the pantry behind you.
"You want to see underwear? I'll show you underwear."
Opening the cabinet you got out a box with a full set of lingerie that you got earlier. You wanted to surprise him with it when the tour would be over but this moment might also be a good one. You could just tease him a little. That would be great, to let him see but not touch because he was so far away. What a good punishment it was.
"What's in the box?"
Will didn't know how he should react to this. He was excited, sure he was horny but he also dreaded what was going to happen. You were so unpredictable sometimes. He liked that about you but in moments like these it freaked him more than anything else.
"It was meant to be a surprise for when you get back home. But it will cause no harm to show you right now."
As you opened the box Will's expression started to change, passing from quite intrigued to utterly shocked.
"Causing no harm? Are you kidding me? I almost had a heart attack."
A long silence settled once again between the two of you. Both of your minds racing to what was going to occur next. It was disjointed and you scattered in all directions. You were lonely and getting drunk unleashed your horniness. You didn't know why, probably just the alcohol but it was getting messy in your head.
You sat on the bed, turning the phone so you could still face it.
"I feel alone Will. I feel so fucking alone when you are not here." The atmosphere thickened and he looked at you with dark eyes, making your cheeks heat. "You're not here, you're never here."
"I know, I'm sorry that it has to be like this baby." His voice cracked. He really was sorry but seeing you sitting on that bed, lingerie in your hands and your short dress rolling up your thighs reduced his guilt. Because you were so hot. He just wanted to see more, to see your dress reach your hips, to see your panties and breasts.
Another silence took place before you switched on the bed, shortly spreading your legs to allow your dress to go higher on your body.
"You want to see, don't you?" You asked as you leaned on your arms, balancing your body to highlight your chest.
"Yes, please." He breathed out without taking his eyes off the screen.
You had bought another set, you were wearing it. How convenient it was. You didn't even have to move, you could just undress here in front of the camera and Will would have to sit and take it.
Slowly you moved back on the mattress, spreading your legs even more to let him peak on the lace of your underwear. Your both legs bent making your dress roll to your belly, stripping your lower half from any kind of clothing.
"Shit, baby." Will cursed and moved closer to his phone as if it was possible. "Can you touch it? It seems so fucking soft."
You obeyed him and slowly brushed your fingers against your intimacy, the fabric getting wetter and wetter every second.
"It is soft." You told him and he groaned. "And it's wet, it's so fucking wet, Will."
You both swallowed hard while your fingers kept caressing your entrance. After that things escalated quickly.
"Take the dress off." He commanded and you did nothing but listen to his demand.
Straightening yourself you got your dress over your head, throwing it next to you. Will's eyes crossed as he saw the pattern of your bra, perfectly matching your panties.
"Let's be clear. You're not taking that off." His voice was so rasp and firm that it made you clench over nothing.
"I won't." On the other hand, yours was breaking, your mind already spinning from the alcohol and your arousal.
"Good girl." Will let these words escape him like it was the most natural thing to say but the effect it had on you was anything but natural. You let out some kind of pathetic whimper, your pussy clenching over nothing again as you kept staring at him through the screen.
"Touch yourself." He asked in a sombre tone. "Caress these breasts for me." He paused and watched your hand slip under your bra. "But don't you dare push it off."
Once again you obeyed him, one hand between your legs and the other up on your chest you started to gently play with yourself. As your breath accelerated and your eyes closed, Will's voice guided you through it.
"Yes, just like that."; "You're doing so good for me."; "Give this pussy what it wants, love."; "Finger fuck yourself for me."
Every single one of his words pushed you closer to the edge. You were getting so aroused that you started to moan loudly without realising it. Still completely focused on Will's voice and breathing, one of your hands slid into your panties, brushing over your clit before reaching your slit.
"Will." You sighed, calling him as you pushed your fingers in yourself. "Shit Will, it feels so fucking good."
Your voice was trembling as your fingers worked inside of you, hitting the sweet spot that had you screaming his name out.
"Fuck, you're so hot like that." You heard him unbuckle his belt as he said those words and you dared to open your eyes back to look at him. "'Making me so hard."
His cheeks were red, his breathing erratic and he was working rapidly to take his jeans and underwear off. His dilated pupils didn't leave you as he started to pump himself, ecstasy in his chest.
Your orgasm drew closer and closer to the point that the pleasure made your arched back, your hips rocking against your hand to chase your release. Your eyes closed back and you bit your lower lips to restrain your moans. On the other side, Will didn't even try to hide his groans and curses. He just kept swearing as he admired the way your body bent over the mattress, your lingerie wet and out of place.
Will loved the fact that you listened to him, that you kept the pieces on even if it was more inconvenient than everything else. But what could have he done? The colour of the set was so pretty on your skin, contrasting perfectly but yet complementing you totally. At this very moment, he could have died to be allowed to put his lips on you, on your skin, to have his fingers caressing the wet fabric of your panties and to have his mouth cover one of your nipples.
"Let me see you come, please." He begged as if it was not something that was going to happen from the beginning but you still let it go, too far gone in your own pleasure.
"If only you were here." You pleaded, the hand that you had on your chest leaving it to come to draw circles on your clit as you heard a shaky sound escape him.
"Yeah, if only I was here." He paused, closing his eyes violently as his thumb caressed his tip. "Shit baby. I would eat you out like I never did. I want to drown in your lingerie. Fuck- I'll suffocate in your scent."
The idea of him lapping you like his life depended on it was enough. Your climax hit you with a strength you barely knew was possible. It was so good that you kept your movements for seconds later, fucking yourself longer than you should have just to keep feeling this rapture.
Will delight himself with this image of you, his own orgasm washing over him quickly as he called your name again and again, like a supplication, like you could deliver him.
Strained you picked up your phone and fell out on the bed, lying down completely on the cover.
"Will I-" You didn't even have finished your sentence when you noticed in which state he was. His hair had gone in all directions, and he was a complete mess, maybe worse than you. His gaze was still full of lust like he hadn't had enough, like it couldn't be enough.
"I miss you." He sighed his face dropping in his hands.
"Do you miss me or do you miss fucking me, hm?" You were only teasing him but his timing was terrible as always.
"Both?" He dared to look up at you, a grin settling on his lips.
"Of course you do." Your eyes rolled back and you chuckled, Will's smile not leaving him.
You both laughed, looking at each other with hooded eyes as fatigue won over you. You couldn't wait to see him again, phone calls weren't enough but at least it was better than nothing. "I miss you too Will." You admitted and his smile turned into a more tender one.
"I know baby. I'll buy you plenty of lingerie when I'll be home so that next time you'll have new clothes to fuck yourself in."
You "pfft" him, imagining him with billions of lingerie bags just because he liked watching you and you found that idea kind of sweet. In the end, Will may not be here physically but he was always making sure to remind you how he was here emotionally. You were like a princess trapped in a tower but you were not alone. Goldilocks was here for you.

Work-life balance
Matt Rayburn x Reader
Summary: Matt needs some help with the beard care he's trying out, luckily for him, you're right there.
Word count: 1.4k
Warnings: None, it's just short and sweet.
A/N: I'm posting this at 2 a.m. my time, this was also the first fic i wrote for the @bernthirst-events BeardthalBash after a long time of not writing so...if you feel like this one is a bit rusty...that's probably because it is.
Tumblr media
Laying on Matt’s bed, you stare at the ceiling of the trailer for a moment, trying to figure out some creative ways to pass the time as you wait for him to join you. With the limited space of the narrow bathroom at his place, both you and your boyfriend quickly realized that sharing your nighttime routines wasn't really an option most of the time. You'd find ways around it, of course, with the bathroom door staying open most of the time, one person in and the other right outside, you managed to make the space feel shared.
You sigh, stretching on top of the covers. The soft double bed mattress dips slightly under the weight of your body. With the quiet sound of the running water coming from the other side of the trailer, a white noise of sorts, you begin to feel your eyelids getting heavier. A quiet grunt slips past your lips and you turn to lay on your side. Now facing the bathroom, the heavily streamed mirror is visible from your position through the slightly cracked open bathroom door.
A soft smile pulls at the corner of your lips when you watch Matt for some reason frown at his reflection, and you feel the need to be close to him, to feel his body once again. It's a familiar feeling, one that rarely leaves you these days. You don't mind it, and you know he doesn’t either, he knows how to show it.
After slipping out of bed, you make your way over to the bathroom and knock on the door before stepping inside.
“Hey honey!”
Matt grins, acting like he just saw you now for the first time, despite the fact you two spent almost the whole day together already. You smile back almost immediately before he leans down to peck at your lips softly.
"Hi, Matty."
You answer before something catches your attention.
"What's that?”
You ask, pointing at a small glass bottle in the middle of the counter right by the sink.
“Oh umm…”
Matt pauses, frowning at the small object before turning his head back to look at you.
“Just beard oil?”
He shrugs, a quick and simple explanation that only really raises more questions for you.
“Since when do you-”
You reach your hand out to pick up the bottle and bring it closer to your eyes, trying to decipher the ingredients as he attempts to explain how exactly this found its way into his bathroom.
“Well…listen, some guy at the store talked me into buying it. There was a stand and samples and flyers and I know you keep saying you like the beard, so I...think I panicked when he started asking questions...”
You chuckle at the short story and he takes the oil back from you.
“He said it’ll make it look nice? Healthy and shit.”
“Really? So you got it because of that...aaaand because I said I like the beard?"
You ask, brushing your finger down his cheek, feeling the hairs prickle softly at your skin.
He shrugs, not really sure if you think it’s stupid or not, and you feel your heart melting at the gesture.
“And I panicked.”
He explains.
“Oh, yes, of course.”
You tease, smiling as he attempts to think of a response.
“Okay, so how are we doing it?”
You ask, glancing around his face for a moment before grabbing the beard oil to check the label one more time, successfully distracting him from the tease.
“We?”
Matt asks just to make sure and you nod enthusiastically.
“Yeah! Or did you want me to-”
You point your thumb back over your shoulder, indicating that you could leave him to it if that's what he wanted.
“Oh, OH!”
He denies quickly, shaking his head. His eyes open wide, almost as if he's afraid you'll actually leave.
“No, no, don't go! 'Be fair I don't…really know how to-”
“Oh, I do!”
You unscrew the cap with a small pipette and smile as you lift it up to his face.
“See? It's easy, I've seen guys do it before.”
"You sure honey?”
“Matt, you know how much my skin care takes, I can handle beard oil.”
He scoffs quietly, turning his face away only to look back at your face right away, smiling so hard he squints his eyes and bites down on his lower lip.
“Aright, honey, if you say so.”
“If I mess it up, we'll just shave it.”
You joke, squeezing past to stand between him and the small bathroom counter and catch his frightened stare in the reflection.
“Joking!”
You turn back to face him, jumping onto the counter before you reach out to grab at his hips and pull him closer.
“Oh, okay.”
He stands between your legs now, hand rubbing softly at the exposed skin on your thigh, watching as you get everything ready. Lifting your chin with his finger, he makes you face him again. His eyes fix on yours for a moment before he glances down at your mouth, moving in closer to push his lips against yours softly. Then again, and again, and one more time.
You hum into the kiss when he tilts your head to the side and brushes his tongue against your lips, deepening the kiss. You feel the small, familiar bolts of pleasure travel down and right back up your body, and it takes you a good while to finally react. Pushing your hand against his chest, you make him step away, breaking the kiss before wiping your lips with the back of your palm.
“Okay, sir? That's inappropriate.”
He frowns, confused, but still smiles at your words.
“You're at the barber? Hello?”
He snorts, shaking his head softly before squinting again.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yes, sir.”
“So you'll be helping me tonight?”
“That's my job!”
You reassure him, playing your part, finally ready to actually apply the oil.
“So...first time?”
You attempt some hairdresser small talk as you drip a couple of drops onto your boyfriend’s beard. Rubbing it in with your fingers, you glance up, letting him know you're expecting a response.
“Oh, oh yeah, yes. Never done this before.”
He plays along and you continue, amused that you managed to get him to do this.
“Really? I don't know, sir, your beard looks very well maintained.”
“Shit, really?”
You nod, and watch the way his lips curl up into that sweet smile you love so much.
“Yes, sir.”
You nod again, slowly massaging the oil throughout the length of his beard, mustache and at the sides of his face, almost up to his actually hair. Shutting them close after a moment, Matt lets his eyes rests before he leans into your soothing touch, humming quietly at the pleasant feeling. The steam from his hot shower, the smell of the supplement you're using on his hair, the sweet sensation of your touch, he loves it all.
“You got a girlfriend, Sir?”
You continue with the stupid little roleplay thing, making him chuckle.
“Mhm.”
His chest rumbles with the deep sound.
“She pretty?”
His eyes flutter open and scan your face from your forehead, your eyes down your nose and over your lips, taking in the details. He allows the moment to last longer, holding back his answer for a couple seconds.
“The prettiest.”
He mumbles the answer out, and he swears he could see your eyes sparkle when you took in his words. His body is so close to yours now, his arm wrapped around your back, holding you close. Closer than before, obviously closer than necessary.
“Well.”
You start after finding your way out of those gentle, brown eyes.
“I think she's lucky to have you.”
“You think?”
You hum quietly, nodding gently with a soft blink as you brush your fingers over the side of his face, the sideburns scratching over the tips of your fingers.
“I know.”
You whisper softly, a small smile on your face as you brush over his cheek with your thumb, eyes fixed on his. You watch as he parts his lips, breathing in quietly as the cogs in his head turn slowly.
“Um…honey? Can…could we stop the roleplay thing now, I…really need to kiss you and I don’t wanna do it if you’re not…you?”
Nodding your head quickly, you grin from ear to ear, pulling him closer to you.
“Yeah, yeah okay I’m back now.”
“Good.”
He rests his big hands on top of your hips, brushing over your skin with his thumbs.
“Missed you.”

Babysitting
Warnings: none!
Words: 2.2k
Summary: While in charge of watching two kids, you got to see Brian interact with them. Safe to say you had never been more in love.
—————
You felt sick. You were covered in baby saliva, your hair was knotted up from getting pulled on, you had bags under your eyes, and you couldn’t take any more.
When your sister-in-law asked you to watch your twin one year old nieces, you agreed thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal. You had taken a babysitting course in high school, you assumed it would be a piece of cake. Sure, high school was years ago, but that didn’t matter. You would still be able to do it.
Now, as you tried to herd one baby while feeding the other, you regretted your decision. The twins had given you absolute hell for the past two days, and with another two to go, you didn’t know how you were going to survive.
You felt like breaking down into tears. You didn’t understand who would willing want to go through this, and you didn’t know how your sister and sister-in-law managed to make it look so fucking easy. They raised twins while also making time for their social life, and you hadn’t realized how much work it actually took until now.
Your boyfriend, Brian, never showed any interest in having kids. Neither did you. The two of you had sat down one night and had a long talk about your future together and what it would look like, and though you couldn’t settle on what kind of house to buy together, you could definitely agree on not having children.
You groaned as you heard your phone ring in the other room. With one baby being cradled in one arm, you managed to scoop up the other one and race to the kitchen to put the bottle down and grab your phone.
A small smile appeared on your face when you saw that it was Brian who was calling. After struggling a bit, you successfully picked up the phone.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Brian’s deep voice flooded your ears and gave you a huge sense of relief. Even just being able to listen to him gave you comfort, which you so desperately needed.
“Hey,” you sighed tiredly.
“You okay?”
“I’m trying to be,” you said, feeling frustrated and helpless as one of the twins started pulling on your hair while the other popped your necklace in her mouth.
“Still watchin’ those kids, eh?” He mumbled sympathetically. You were so jealous of him. He got to film things and have fun with his three best friends while you were stuck making sure these girls didn’t die on top of also making sure you didn’t die.
“Brian, I can’t fucking do this,” you didn’t try to censor your words as it didn’t really matter around them, “I thought I could but I can’t. They’re kicking my ass.”
“How much longer do you have to keep ‘em?”
“Two days,” you said, maneuvering your wrist in an awkward position so you could pick up your phone without putting one of the girls down. You made your way to the couch and put them both in a little play area you had set up before falling down on the couch ungraciously.
“I’m sorry, honey,” he offered. You hummed into the phone and closed your eyes for a minute, giving yourself a bit to breathe. You hadn’t sat down without monitoring the kids the past two days, and you didn’t think you’d be able to do it for the next two. It really shouldn’t be this difficult, you knew that, but something about being around kids made you nervous which led to you making mistakes. Mistakes that you knew were preventable, and mistakes that you knew your sister and her wife wouldn’t have made, but you couldn’t help it. You just weren’t good with kids.
But you were their godmother. You couldn’t say no to watching them.
“Still there?” Brian’s voice broke through your thoughts. You only hummed again.
“Talk to me, Y/N. Tell me what’s goin’ on,” he sounded worried, and though you hated worrying him, you didn’t have the energy to comfort him. All you wanted to do was sleep.
“I don’t know, Brian. I just fucking know the girls are gonna do something bad if I’m not watching, so I feel like I can’t look away from them for a second,” you felt tears well up in your eyes and you sniffled to try and get rid of them, “I feel like I’m not helping. I’m just so bad at this, and I still have two days. I don’t know how I’m gonna get through it.”
“You know you’re doin’ a good job, right? The fact that you were even willin’ to help means a lot to your sister,” Brian comforted you, his words only making the lump in your throat worse as you willed yourself to not cry, “I know it’s hard, but you’ll be okay. Those girls love you, and I love you. If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that you’re gonna take care of those kids to the best of your ability. They’re lucky to have you, baby.”
You couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. All the built up frustration from even the simple things like having to dress the girls when they refused to, when they pushed away the bottles during feeding time, when they stayed awake half the night and made as much noise as they possibly could. That paired with your boyfriends sweet words broke you down. It all came rushing out and you didn’t try to stop it.
“It’s alright, darlin’. I know,” Brian murmured. You tried to imagine him holding you and you cried a little harder at that. You missed him. He was often busy filming and you’d only really spend time with him on odd hours as he had lots of things to do. You knew that he wanted to be with you all the time, but his job as well as yours was very demanding of time and that made it very difficult to spend time together.
“I’m so sorry, Brian. I didn’t mean to take up your time with this,” you felt guilty for forcing this onto him knowing that he was always working himself to the bone.
“Don’t apologize. I’m here for you,” he mumbled, and you heard a car lock nearby, “physically, too. Open the door for me.”
Was he being serious?
“I’m waitin’, baby,” you heard him knock a few times and you hung up the phone, checking on the girls once before basically sprinting to the door.
You whipped it open and immediately embraced your boyfriend, inhaling the scent of whiskey and pot as it filled your nose. He put his arms around you and held you close, giving you comforting squeezes and whispering a ‘hello’ in your hair where he also pressed a kiss.
“Fuck, hold on. The girls,” you pulled away from Brian and quickly walked back to the babies, hearing Q close the door and lock it before he followed suit.
You felt his eyes on your back as you picked up one of your nieces who was crying as she held a stuffed toy that was covered in spit, much like you.
“Shh, it’s okay, love. You’re okay,” you soothed the baby, taking the toy out of her hands and animating it to make her giggle. She eventually stopped crying and went back to sucking on the poor bear’s paw.
“So it’s been like that for the past few days, huh?”
“That wasn’t the worst of it, Quinn,” you huffed as you combed your fingers through your hair. Brian approached you and replaced your hands with his own, using them to fix your hair and cradle your face lovingly.
“You’re doin’ a hell of a job,” Brian whispered as he pressed a kiss to your lips. You returned it gratefully, wrapping your arms around his neck as his encircled your waist.
Even just the simple act of kissing your boyfriend made everything feel better. Your nose was still a bit stuffy from crying and you knew your eyes would be red and puffed up, but Brian still looked at you with raw love deep in his brown eyes. He petted your hair and kissed you again, this time pushing his nose in your neck and hugging you when you pulled away from the peck.
You rested your hands on his large forearms and sighed, finally feeling a bit of peace. That peace was broken as quickly as it was formed, though, as one of the girls began babbling loudly. You turned and saw her crawling towards a glass of water that you had put on the coffee table, and you couldn’t do anything as she toppled it over.
The water spilled onto the hardwood floor and you whined, swiftly pushing your boyfriend off of you so you could pick up the baby and make sure she was okay. You could deal with the spill later.
You checked the time and saw that it was around their nap time, so you bent down and lifted up the other girl. You knew they were getting tired as their babbling had come to a halt and their eyes drooped as you walked up the stairs and into the nursery. Putting them into their respective cribs, you made sure they were clean and tiptoed out of the room, praying to whoever was up there that they’d sleep peacefully.
Now to clean the spill. A task that was usually straightforward and basic had never seemed so impossible. Even as you stepped down the stairs you could feel your limbs begging you to take a break, and you almost collapsed right then and there. By the last two steps, you were swaying on your feet, and your boyfriend luckily noticed and briskly walked over to you so he could pick you up bridal style and carry you over to the couch.
He fluffed up a pillow and wedged it under your head, pulling up a thin blanket to your chin and pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“No, let me clean the spill,” you slurred, already feeling the hours of sleep you lost catching up to you.
“I got it, sweetheart. Close your eyes,” he kissed you again and you were too tired to protest. Soon enough, you were dead asleep.
Still, at the back of your mind, you were thinking of the girls. That’s why the second your eyes opened again, you searched the room for them. When you eyes finally landed on them, you felt your heart melt.
Brian was gently cradling both of them in his big arms, holding them close to his chest as he hummed quietly, a bottle in both of their mouths. You didn’t disrupt the moment, instead taking a second to come to your senses and just take in the domestic scene in front of you.
“Shh, princess, it’s okay,” he mumbled to one of the girls who began babbling, “gotta stay quiet so your aunt can sleep, right?”
He pressed a kiss to the top of one of the girls head before doing the same to the other one, mumbling something you couldn’t hear into her hair. Though you weren’t fond of kids, the interaction in front of you made you weak in the knees.
“Are you girls done eatin’?” Brian asked, knowing he wouldn’t get a response. He put them down and took the bottles away before placing two towels over both of his shoulders and picking up the twins again to burp them.
“That’s it, princess. There you go,” he encouraged as he patted their backs gently. Hearing the way his usually loud voice dropped down to just above a whisper, his voice getting higher pitched as he talked to them, and just overall how careful he was being made you swoon. Not to mention the adorable nickname he gave the girls.
“Alright. I know we had some trouble changin’ you two but I think I got it now,” Brian told the twins, pulling them off his shoulder and into his lap. He lifted his knees up and down to bounce them slowly and they giggled.
“I can change them,” you finally spoke up, deciding that he had done more than enough for you and them. Brian’s eyes shot to yours and a grin broke out on his face.
“Good mornin’, sweetheart,” he mumbled quietly. You returned it and walked to him, pressing a kiss to his lips before sitting down crisscross in front of him. You opened your arms and he gave you one of the twins.
“Thank you, Brian. I really appreciate you looking after them,” you kept your gaze on the beautiful baby in front of you for a moment before making eye contact with your boyfriend. He was already staring at you with a light pink dusting on his face.
“It’s no problem. They’re really good.”
“Thought you didn’t like kids.”
“I don’t. But I’ll make an exception for ‘em.”
You laughed and the baby in your lap raised her arms up and down, trying to grab a hold of your hair. Brian carefully reached over and pulled your hair into a messy ponytail before tying it up for you.
“I love you so much,” you told him, feeling tears prick at your eyes. He leaned over to kiss you, making sure not to disrupt the baby in his lap.
“I love you, too. More than you know.”

—————/———————/————
I’ve seen her a few times around the village
Even from a distance, the mysterious aura seeping through her gaze always seemed to catch my attention
I knew better than to mess with witches
But to say my not-so royal life was getting boring was an understatement
My family sent me to live in the rural edges of our kingdom, with the purpose of teaching me life the hard way, before becoming the head of the palace
So here I was, a prince, trying to stay undercover, living as a farmer under someone’s uncle’s roof
~~
That women I keep seeing, i've never quite seen a beauty so surreal, ‘’maybe it was a spell’’ i chuckled to myself, or maybe it was something far more than what i expected it to be
——-
I struggle to remember the color of the walls inside the palace. Maybe they changed it now.
My father and mother had agreed on it, before being suited to lead the kingdom, I had to live the hard way. Living with a friend of a friend, a farmer that is, and for approximately 12 months.
Every descendant of the Crimson family that was in line for the throne had to prove themselves by doing so. But the way my father had thrown me out without a notice still left me hurt.
I felt the bitterness come back to the surface as I bit down on my already bleeding lip.The feeling was exactly what I needed for this instance.I picked myself back up, pushing away the stray hairs from my vision. My left side stung again as I received another blow to my ribs.
The small crowd cheered.
I wasn’t going to let that scoundrel make a fool out of me again. I targeted his leg, first grabbing his shoulders, then kicking his leg to be able to swipe my feet underneath his, making him fall successfully
The crowd cheered again
Seeing my enemy on the ground, I stomped my feet down to his throat.
I had enough…
I kept pressing down even after he tapped on my leg for mercy. It's only when one of my friends pulled me back that I came back to my senses. The crowd quickly gathered around me, celebrating another worthless win. ‘’Yea yea, i won, the show’s now over every one’’ i made a gesture for them to disperse.
The moment I could feel the breeze again, I looked around at the disappearing crowd.
We had this event between friends every week or so. The crowd was always changing, new faces every time. But one face seemed familiar through it all.
A slender figure, dark hair, and always that dark cape looming over her. My friends told me she was only around when I was the one fighting.
Villagers, farmers, foreigners, anyone could enter our fighting matches as long as they placed a bet. The crowd could place bets as well, delivering the money before being permitted to watch the show. It wasn’t anything professional, far from it, but it was a way for us to distract ourselves and get some money out of it.
I walked back to my older friend, looking down at the amount we had gathered
‘’How much did we get?’’ I asked
‘’Weird question for a royal like you y/n, shouldn't you already have all the riches in the land?’’ he quirked his eyebrow. I kicked some dirt his way.
‘’Hey! Do that again and you’re never getting your share’’
I huffed before sitting down by his side to help him count
——
After all, life outside the castle wasn’t too hard. Harsh but freeing in many ways that the 4 walls of that palace could never provide me.
I walked back home at dawn, walking a bit further away from the village. I stepped inside, noticing my adoptive family, each sitting around the table.
‘’Good evening’’ I announced myself before taking off my worn out jacket
‘’Did you feed the lambs and the chickens?’’ A stern voice asked me
I cursed under my breath
‘’Go outside to feed them and do not come back in until it's done. You'll sleep outside if you are too lazy for such minimal tasks. You might be royal blood, but from what i have seen of you, you'll never be as good as your father’’ he spitted at me
I felt both my fists clenching, breathe y/n, only a few more months…
‘’It's not because your a descendant of the Crimson’s family that you're any better than us, now go before I teach you a lesson’’
I exited the house, slamming the door behind me.
This is ridiculous, no one restocked the food for the chickens. I grabbed my satchel and made my way out further, nearing the woods.
I still wasn’t quite sure what these animals were supposed to eat to grow. I would usually steal from our neighbors gardens, gathering what I could so uncle could get off my back.
Like the usual routine, I sneaked past the small cabin, kneeling down before the small garden. I started filling my bag with anything I could grab.
I believed myself to be safe. That is until I heard wood cracking under someone's weight. I immediately ducked, laying on the ground as flat as possible. Footsteps grew louder and closer, that’s when I heard a shout and decided it was my time to run. I stood up and saw the old man pointing his gun at me, I ducked and started running towards the woods. Hearing cursing and gunshots following. I ran through bushes and trees, not looking back
I stopped a minute later, trying to catch my breath.
That's when I heard a voice humming. I hid behind a tree. I heard of these fables, the ones who were stupid enough to wander around the woods alone would often encounter what people called witches. Seemingly human, but with monstrous powers.
I tried listening to the humming. I felt warm, almost comforted by the sound. I racked my brain, trying to remember witches powers and their effects on the common mortal. That song she was humming, it must be some sort of spell or enchantment
I plugged my ears with my fingers. How was I going to get out of this?
‘’Running, like you always do y/n’’
Right, I looked around before stepping out from my hiding spot, ready to run once again
Unfortunately for me, grace wasn’t one of my fortee, nor was my vision so it seems, has i had failed to notice a small root sticking out from the ground, making me trip and fall down
The humming stopped.
I cursed under my breath. I looked up to be met with an oddly familiar face. She simply giggled, looking down at me.
I stood up before taking a step back, cautious to who or what i had encountered.
‘’You’re hurt’’ she almost whispered while looking at me
Her voice sounded like pure silk, something bringing me almost as much comfort as it had for fear a few seconds prior.
I knew better than to fall under a witches charm. Yet, I stood frozen as she approached me, unable to look away from her delicate features and her chocolate eyes. Her hand made contact with my face, making me slightly jump. Her gaze met mine again, this time seemingly worried.
‘’S-sorry’’ I mumbled. She smiled before letting go of my face.
‘’Make sure to clean that cut and put pomade on it, if you want it to heal’’ she looked down with a shy smile
‘’Oh..I will’’ I replied before shaking myself out of this trance like state
‘’I'll be on my way’’ she excused herself before walking away
I ran back to the cottage, feeding the chickens with what I had gathered before finally settling down inside. I looked at my reflection, a cut was present where the women had touched my face. I gathered water from the kitchen, taking a small bowl to bring some over to my room.
I sat down before plunging face first into the bowl. At least I could clean up the wound.
Satisfied, I undressed and laid down. I stared at the rotting ceiling, wood really couldn't last long against the rain I thought. I turned to lay on my side, staring out the window.
Images of earlier came to mind. I wasn't sure if I liked the woman I encountered or if it was only the spell of a witch, either way, I was probably only touch deprived.
She was just one of many faces I would come across and never see again.
——
Yet another crack of dawn fell upon the village.
I unwillingly opened my eyes to be blinded by the waking sun.
If I were to wake up early enough, maybe uncle wouldn't catch me leaving for the day. I wasn’t willing to fulfill my duties per usual, so I opted on escaping to the village for another of our fighting tournaments. I quickly dressed up in my red cardigan father had given me, before exiting by the room’s window. I walked through the field before joining the main path. After a few minutes, I knocked on my friend’s front door.
Only a few seconds passed before she opened the door.
‘’Y/n!’’ she exclaimed
‘’Ready for another successful day Yooh?’’
She nodded with a grin before following me outside. She left to gather any possible fighters while I set up the scene, simply marking a line in the dirt behind one of the houses in the village.
I then settled down Yooh’s bet’s hat, anyone agreeing to fight or to watch had to place a bet against us, thus making us quite the coin after each fight.
When Yooh came back with a crowd, we decided on an order. A few foreigners in town would be fighting a few locals, then, the winner would go against me for the final.
We collected the bets and let the fights start after explaining a few base rules.
——
The crowd started getting bigger after a few rounds. More and more familiar faces stacked up around the circle. I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around to be faced with none other than Lee Gahyeon.
‘’Well if it isn’t the princess herself’’ I teased, slightly bowing.
She grinned from ear to ear, making me do the same.
‘’Y/n, you know not to address me as such around here” she lightly scolded.
‘’How is the farm life treating you dear friend’’ I asked, a bit concerned.
‘’Better than you it seems” she teased, pointing out my rough figure.
‘’The difference between you and me Gahyeon, is that i'm letting myself have fun while away from the castle’’
‘’And I only have a month left before returning to my family, so who is really the winner here y/n?’’ she grinned
Gahyeon was a princess sent here for the same purpose as I was. Only difference being her coming from a different kingdom, one adjacent to mine. Our families were allies. Once they heard about our family’s famous tradition, they decided on sending Gahyeon out into the world as well.
‘’Well i suppose i'll be lonely then’’ I playfully winked at her, making her giggle
Our attention was brought back to the fight when Yooh announced a winner, it was then that I turned around and saw the hooded girl again. There was this insatiable feeling inside of me, I needed to know her name. But as I started walking towards her, Gahyeon pulled me back.
‘’Don’t think you're escaping from me so easily prince charming’’ she grinned
Although I would have joined Gahyeon's stories, I was still distracted by the stranger. I turned the other way again, meeting the mysterious eyes through the crowd.
Those eyes, I could recognize them anywhere, an object of fascination against my own will. I was taken aback once I realized it was the same woman I had encountered in the woods. But before I could do anything, she ducked with a seemingly disappointed expression on her face.
I tried following after her, but Gahyeon was there to stop me again as well as Yoohyeon this time. She called me in for the final fight. I stepped into the circle, looking up to see my opponent. I frowned, I had never seen this type of attire, probably a foreigner.
Yoohyeon announced the rules again, the winner would win it all. Enticing amount of money for anyone that wasn’t royal. The fight started and I was able to immediately put my opponent to the ground. He managed to pull me off a few times but I was not going to let him take the win.
I pushed him once again to the ground, he groaned before shouting some words I could not understand. I heard some commotion in the crowd and immediately turned around to yoohyeon, seeing the girl fighting the friend of my rival. They were trying to steal the prize from her.
I was about to run to Yoohyeon but my opponent pulled me back.
I felt a stinging pain in my left leg. I looked down to see the man pulling out his dagger out my leg. I let myself fall onto the ground, now clutching at the wound.
I screamed to Yoohyeon to warn her, to let them go so she wouldn't get hurt. The crowd had already corwarded away, leaving the 2 men against me and Yoohyeon.
She let them go after being thrown to the ground.
I got back on my two feet and approached her
‘’I'm so sorry about this situation, are you okay dear?’’ I asked worried
I helped her pull herself off the ground, it's then that I saw a tear running down her face.
‘’yooh’’ I wiped away the tears, turning her face towards me.
‘’Its my fault, i couldn't fight him off, and now he's gone with the money’’ she muttered out
‘’Yooh, no one could of predicted this, it’s my fault if anything, i told you to stop fighting them, i didn't want you to get hurt’’ I reassured
‘’why-’’ she stopped her sentenced when she looked down at my bloodied leg
‘’Y/n! what happened’’ she crouched, touching around the wound.
‘’That bastard had a dagger on him, but i'll be fine’’
She seemed to disagree with me and retrieved her hand from the wound, looking at the substance now on her fingers.
‘’I think he had poison on that dagger, look’’ she showed me the green substance that she retrieved from the wound.
She then stood up before pulling on my arm ‘’Follow me, we need to get some medicine for you’’
I stopped her ‘’Yoohyeon you also have injuries, please go rest back home, i'll fix myself later’’ She was about to fight my decision but I glared at her.
‘’Fine’’ she pouted
‘’I’ll bring you back home now’’ i left her no choice
‘’right, prince charming’’ she joked
‘’I do this because I care about you, not because I was raised this way’’
—--
You led yoohyeon back to the safety of her home before going your own way.
You looked down at your leg. ‘’I have to fix this now’’
You weren’t knowledgeable in medicine and even less poisonous substances. But you did know a friend that could help you on that matter. You didn't like him much, but it was better than letting that substance simmer inside your flesh.
You made your way to his house and knocked.
Quickly your eyes were met with a cocky grin from the tall boy.
‘’Well, well, how could I help my dear Y/n today?’’
You scoffed at him ‘’Well, one of the fighter decided it was a good idea to wound me with poison today’’
He frowned, now serious ‘’I see, let me take a look at it’’ he made sign for you to enter.
You sat down on one of the chairs in his cabin. He kneeled before looking at the wound, He seemed fascinated by it, letting out some noises of excitement
‘’Anything?’’ you asked
‘’Y/n, a master needs time to complete his work’’ he smiled
He stood up before going towards his bed, picking up a book from it. ‘’From the color, texture, that wound…I don't think that's going to kill you, not yet anyway. Only thing, I dont have the plant you need here for your remedy’’ he seemed pensive
‘’Can you help me or i am wasting my time here?’’
‘’I sure can, although the plant I need is a bit far from here. I do have a brief sketch of it that should help you find it’’ he explained, ripping a page from his book.
You took the page out of his hands before walking towards the exit. ‘’Your welcome!’’ he screamed towards you before you disappeared from his view.
——
‘’This shouldn't be too hard’’ you repeated to yourself while walking further into the forest.
You approached a small water stream, stopping there to refresh yourself after the long and painful walk. As you stopped there, you heard shouting in the distance
You stood up and walked towards the source, curiosity getting the best of you.
You quickly hid when you noticed a man pointing his gun at a hooded figure. Intelligible words were exchanged between the two before the man threw the person to the ground. In a matter of seconds he then aggressively stepped on their ankle before stealing their belongings.
You came out of hiding to confront the man but he was already running away. You ran to the women that was on the ground
‘’Miss, may I help you? Why did that men attack you?’’ You asked
You waited for her response but only heard her sniffle. It was when she turned her face to meet your gaze that you recognized her face. ‘’A witch’’ you accidentally blurted out ‘’Is that why he attacked you?’’ she nodded at the question
‘’I won't hurt you’’ you quickly jutted out
‘’I believe you, I have seen you quite a few times around y/n’’ she inquired.
You were shocked at the mention of your name. She seemed to notice your confusion and tittle her head with a smile
‘’May I know your name?’’
‘’Of course, I'm Minji, or Jiu for short’’ she smiled through the pain.
She tried standing up but failed due to her injury. You offered her your hand and helped her stand. She tried putting weight on her feet but groaned at the feeling, gripping onto your hand for support.
‘’Oh your ankle, I can help you back home’’ you reassured but her smile dropped.
‘’I dont think its a good idea to bring me back home seeing as though you have a lover waiting for you back there’’
You frowned, confused.
‘’The princess?’’ she quirked her eyebrow
‘’Oh, that is not my lover. We are friends’’ you replied. She simply nodded
‘’Wait, how do you know she's a princess?’’ you asked curiously
‘’She isn't exactly trying to hide it with her gold brooch’’ she replied, making you laugh
‘’I also have noticed your embroidery dear prince’’ she seemingly teased, making you blush
She let go of your hand and tried walking on her own but to no avail. You grabbed onto her again. ‘’Let me help?’’
‘’You know what i am don't you?’’
You slowly nodded, trying to understand what she was trying to say.
‘’Then you shouldn't be here, even less at my house, which is near the coven’’ she explained.
‘’Minji, you can't walk on your own, I promise i'll be quick and of no disturbance’’ you slightly bowed, long forgetting your own injury to help the women in front of you. She sighted, knowing she had no other choices but to accept.
‘’Fine, but you should wear this, so as to not be recognized as an intruder’’ She gently took off her hooded cape and gave it to you. She helped you put it on properly, tying the front and placing the hood above your head.
You noticed a small frown on her features before she gently touched your cheek
‘’You didn’t put pomade on it, did you?’’ she asked with a teasing smile
‘’Oh, I must of forgotten, i’m sorry’’
she simply replied with a nod and a grin
You gave your hand to Jiu, holding onto it firmly to help her walk back home.
——
After what felt like an eternity, you could see the edge of wooden roofs starting to peek through the foliage.
As you walked closer to the village with Jiu, you observed the magnificent sight. A witch’s village was nothing short of breathtaking, unlike the horrible descriptions in those fables. Although the sight was to cherish, with all its greenery and uncommon forms, the sight that was to your right couldn't be beaten. It would be a lie to say you hadn’t peeked at Jiu’s profile throughout the long walk. You grew fonder of her soft chocolate eyes and her inviting smile. Although you had been too shy or preoccupied by her state to talk, the silence seemed to be comfortable. The both of you enjoying each other's company while admiring the surrounding nature.
The exterior of the small cabins were painted of eccentric colors and flowers were surrounding each and every building.
You both walked closer to what seemed to be her house. She opened the door before you helped her in. She then sat down onto her bed before looking back at you.
‘’Thank you y/n’’
You simply nodded, watching her uncomfortable figure trying to chase away the pain.
‘’Could you please bring my pain medicine? It's in my underground storage behind my house, you should be able to find it by the wooden trap there’’
You weren’t sure about wandering in such a place, but if it was to help Jiu feel better, then you would do so.
‘’What does the medicine resemble? you asked, unsure
‘’It a red glass bottle with a leather cap’’ she smiled
Having all the information you needed, you hesitantly stepped out of her cabin. You walked towards the back side of the building. A few meters away from its back wall, you noticed the wooden trap. To your surprise it was left open, making it easier for you to climb down in.
The place was quite dark, with only a faint flame lighting the room. You approached the light to start searching for Jiu’s medicine.
You heard a faint noise behind you, but before you could turn to the source, you were pinned against the harsh textured wall.
‘’Who are you and why are you here?’’ a smaller women asked, her knife to your throat
You gulped, ‘’I'm here for Jiu’’
‘’How do you know any of ours name’’
‘’I'm a friend of Jiu’’ you tried explaining but to no avail.
‘’I don’t believe strangers’’ she mentioned before pushing you to the ground. She let her weight pin you down to be able to tie your hands with some rope.
She commanded you to get up before asking more questions
‘’Jiu has been gone for hours now, why should I believe you when you could be the reason of her disappearance?’’
‘’Listen, your friend was attacked and I simply helped her get back home’’
The smaller women didn't reply, but simply approached you, now curiously looking at the embroidery on your chest.
‘’The Crimson palace…what is royalty even doing here?’’ she asked herself. She then walked a few steps around the dark room, seemingly in thought.
She looked at you after pondering, ‘’Who are you?’’
‘’It's not important, we need to go help Jiu’’ you replied, impatient to get back to the injured woman.
she harshly grabbed your face ‘’It is important if you want your pretty face to get out of here unmarked’’ she snarled.
You hesitated, blowing your cover wasn’t exactly meant to happen during this ‘learning session’ away from the palace. Especially not to witches.
Her hand started clenching harder around your face.
‘’I'm the prince’’ you finally jutted out, making her let go of your face
‘’There you go, was that so hard?’’ she giggled mischievously before pushing you out the room and up the stairs
‘’Where are we going?’’ you asked, unsure of what she planned on doing with vulnerable royalty.
‘’You’ll see soon, won't you?’’ she teased. She seemed unbothered by your sligh panic, enjoying the effect she had on you. To your relief, she walked you back to Jiu’s front door. She opened the door before pushing you in, making you fall to the floor.
‘’Is this someone you know?’’ she asked after putting her feet down on your back.
‘’Sua, be careful would you?’’ Jiu snarled at her
‘’Yes I do know them, they helped me get back here’’ she confirmed before letting herself to the ground to untie your hands from the harsh rope.
She looked over you like looking over porcelain, looking for any marks that would predict future shattering.
‘’i'm fine’’ you whispered to her with a reassuring smile
She looked back to Sua ‘’Do you at least have any medicine for me?’’
‘’Here’’ Sua took out a bottle from her satchel and threw it towards the bed
‘’If they do anything, just alert us with a scream’’ she explained before leaving the both of you alone.
Jiu painfully pulled herself back up to bed, ‘’I'm sorry about that y/n, Sua is…very protective’’
‘’I can tell’’ you smiled ‘’It only means you’ll be safe here, makes my heart a bit lighter’’ you admitted. You weren’t sure if it was the product of your imagination, but you swore in that moment you saw blush spread across her face.
She opened the bottle Sua had given to her and took out some of the medication to chew on.
‘’Is that all?’’ you asked, unsure if the medication alone would help her ankle. She giggled at your question before taking out something from under her bed.
She revealed a small wooden box. She pulled some bandages out from it before starting to twist the material around her ankle. You quickly kneeled before her, offering to help her. She smiled before letting you take the material to finish surrounding her ankle. You gently secured her ankle with the material before letting her foot down.
A few seconds passed. Waiting for any response, you looked up to catch her staring at you with a fond smile. You immediately looked back down, a bit embarrassed.
‘’Thank you y/n’’ she grinned
‘’It's nothing’’ you smiled back before getting up
But Minji frowned, looking down at your leg. ‘’Did Sua really cut your pants?’’
You looked down as well, now remembering your own injury ‘’It is not Sua’s doing, it is from a fight’’
‘’Can I have a look at it, I may be able to help you in return for your services’’ she pleaded
Without a word you simply sat down next to her. Her hands wandered around the wound on your thigh. She gently raised the material off your skin. Her expression seemed pained as she traced the cut. ‘’Do you know why the blood seems greenish?’’ she looked back at you
‘’I believe my opponent had poison on his dagger, which he was not suppose to use regardless’’ you huffed
‘’I see’’ Jiu helped herself up and made her way to a cabinet, grabbing a small jar from it. She came back and gave it to you. You noticed the symbol on it, it was the plant you were looking for earlier. ‘’How did you know this was the right antidote?’’ you looked a Jiu, surprised
‘’Well witches do have a few tricks up their sleeves’’ she winked, making you smile
You looked back down at the wound, ‘’Do I just apply it directly?’’ you questioned
Jiu giggled ‘’No we have to clean it first’’ She grabbed a small bottle from one of her shelf
‘’Here is some alcohol’’ she smiled. You watched dreadfully as she opened the bottle
‘’Maybe we do not have t-’’ she cut off your sentence by pouring some of the liquid on the cut. All that could be heard was your muffled groans as you harshly pressed your lips together.
Jiu watched the liquid fizzle, like some kind of potion she would be working on. She was about to pour more but you stopped her, pleading her to not do so.
‘’Oh, I'm sorry, I didn’t realize it hurt bad’’ she apologetically smiled before replacing the alcohol bottle with the small jar. She opened it before placing a generous amount of ointment on your wound. She gently spread it so as to not hurt you.
It's only now that you realized how close she was to you. Her body almost colliding with yours, you could feel the warmth radiating from her skin. A feeling you hoped would become familiar.
She gave you some bandages to finish treating the wound. ‘’Here, you should be able to recover now’’.
You stood up to properly wrap the material around your leg. Once secured, you noticed how the lighting seemed to have faded from earlier. You looked outside only to confirm that night was indeed approaching.
‘’Well, I will be on my way now, thank you for everything Minji’’ you bowed
‘’No need y/n, thank you for rescuing me today’’ she smiled
You felt that leaving her was causing your heart to ache. After finally meeting the mysterious woman, would you simply return home and never see her again? At last, you knew these questions wouldn't be answered by staying in her home, so you opted on wishing her a good night before exiting her house.
You made sure the wooden door was safely closed and locked before turning around. You stopped in your steps, met with none other than Sua and one taller girl. Her eyes went wide before turning into a teasing look
‘’Ah Sua, I will be heading home now’’ you explained
‘’Curious, with how long the two of you were in there, I believed you were staying the night’’ Her words surprised you, making you blush.
The other girl eyed you curiously before speaking. ‘’If you aren’t interested in Minji, we could spend some time together as well’’ she smirked. Sua elbowed the taller girl ‘’Dong, this is not the time to court’’ ‘’Fine, my excuses’’ she replied before sending you a wink as she made her way back towards what you assumed to be her house.
Sua turned back towards you ‘’Leave’’ she sternly directed to you
‘’Yes miss’’ you replied before making your way out of the village.
—---
A week has passed since you last saw Minji. Although she would usually present herself during the fighting tournaments, you assumed she couldn't make her usual errands in town with her ankle.
It didn't stop you from wondering if she was well, if someone was taking care of her or if she was recovered
You had been busy with tasks at home, but you planned to visit her. So when the next morning came, you quickly exited the house to make your way to her, hoping you wouldn't be ambushed by her friends again.
—--
Making your way through the woods. you seemed to recognize the surroundings. The small stream, the flowers. Wasn’t this the place you first encountered Minji?
A sudden idea came to your mind. You approached the flowers, gently picking some of them. You place them in your bag, making sure to not fumble any of the petals before resuming your travels
—---
You saw the wooden roofs appear once again in the distance. You remembered the way, to your relief.
You carefully stepped foot into the village, looking around for signs of any of Jiu’s friends. When you judged the cost to be clear, you let yourself walk further into the small town. That's when you saw her, tending to some flowers near a cabin. She looked just as beautiful as the last time you had seen her. She was sitting on a small bench, her ankle still surrounded for protection.
You let yourself admire her for a bit, enjoying the scenery of it all. Although you felt peaceful at that moment, your heart started singing a song of its own. Its pace quickening at the mere sight of her.
Suddenly, Sua appeared behind her, bringing what looked like to be more flowers to tend too. And although Jiu hadn’t noticed you, Sua immediately did and took her dagger out before calling to you. She seemed to not remember you.She hastily made her way to you but Jiu finally turned around and made eye contact with you. She immediately smiled and called back the smaller woman, explaining to her you were the stranger who helped her a few days before.
Sua retreated before teasingly smiling at you once again. This time she let no word out, simply making a gesture for you to join Jiu.
You walked to where Jiu was sitting
‘’Y/n. How are you’’ she smiled brightly
‘’I am well, I hope you have recovered since our last meeting’’
‘’I do feel better, especially now that you are here’’ she teased before giggling at your shy expression
You reached into your bag, carefully pulling out the flowers you picked earlier. You looked down at them, breathing in before having enough courage to look back up at her. You placed the flowers in front of her, still holding onto them ‘’I wanted to give these to you’’ you shyly expressed.
You didn’t quite understand what was happening to you. You never felt much. You always passed as the cold hearted person who had no time to spare for any strangers. But here you were, feeling your chest fill with butterflies as you looked into this woman's eyes.
She gently took them into her own hands. Looking gleefully over them, smelling the different flowers you had brought to her.
She looked back at you with a grateful smile ‘’Thank you y/n’’
‘’They reminded me of you’’ you blurted out
She giggled, looking back at them ‘’Is that so?’’
For once in your life, you decided to act on your feelings instead of the logic your brain was trying so hard to push onto you.
‘’I like you..Minji’’ you looked at her, only to see her shocked.
Scared, you looked back down to your feet. That was until you felt her warmth close to you once again. You could recognize that feeling anywhere, her presence was one you could never forget, intoxicating yet a blessing.
You felt her fingers hook themselves under your chin, encouraging your gaze to meet hers. Her gaze looked sincere and loving. ‘’I admire you a lot y/n’’ she said in almost a whispers
‘’I'm sorry about what I said’’ You tried explaining yourself.
What you failed to notice all this time was that Jiu felt attracted to you as well, wondering at night where you were, if you also thought about her and missed her.
At the simple mention of her being a witch, people would either attack her or run, no one had been considerate enough to talk to her, let alone help her. You made her feel loved in a way no one before had been able too. Even when she had romantic interests, she would have to hide who she was. But with you, she let herself hope that things could be different.
Noticing the silence, you tried speaking up again ‘’I should of not sai-’’
Jiu wasn’t gonna let you finish that sentence, she wanted to let you know just how much she appreciated your existence. She pulled you in for the softest yet most passionate kiss. Her lips weren't rough nor distant, a perfect amount of pressure accompanied by a slow and loving rhythm.
You felt hypnotized, her lips casting a spell on you, her body pressing against you like she was the puzzle piece you were missing. Her hand gently grazed against the back of your neck while you held onto her waist.
for the first in a while, you felt happy. Like life had a meaning, like the world was given back its colors.
You once believed love was a curse, but if she was the one casting it, then it was well worth it.

“Oh my god, a mosco!!” - “I’m a FAIRY!!”
-----
Slammed on the wall was a humanoid creature with its head having what looked like red flower petals but still not? The creature’s body was half really dark brown, and orange while it wore a ragged and torn cloak over its shoulders and dusty red and orange striped pants with no shoes. Around it were a few girls looking at it in confusion and slight disgust.
“...Did I kill it?” A young, slightly Asian looking girl with a large magenta bow on her head looked at the creature on the wall while a sandal was on the floor near the wall where the creature went splat and she coincidentially was missing one of her sandals. SLAP!
The girls turned and stared at a bigger girl with black skin, curly hair and green attire who just slapped the thing to the wall again. “Yeah, I think it be dead dead now!” The girl said as she pulled her hand away from the dead creature. Or so they thought, the creature started groaning in pain and annoyance, making the girls panic. “KILL IT WITH FIRE-!!”
‘Wait wait wait wait, we can’t start like this! Let me show you the context of this chaos!’
–--->
Earlier that day, five girls were all washing a car in the driveway, one of them just splashing others with the hose instead of actually helping clean the car. That one was Diane, a chaotic half Portuguese girl who did little to no actual work.
“Quit it Diane!” A tall, black skinned and curly haired girl with red attire named Adira yelled at Diane and huffed when Diane just giggled mischievously.
Her laughter stopped when the girl with the bow, aka Goldie, threw some water from a bucket at Diane, immediately running away cackling when Diane started chasing her.
“Sooooo, why are you cleaning your mom’s car again?” The girl with green attire asked, her name being Alanis. “It was either this or get my stuff taken away.” A girl with light pink, blue and lavender hair said as she washed the car with a soapy wet cloth, her name being Gin.
“Aight, that’s fair.” Alanis said. “Hey, did you hear about the forest fire from a few weeks ago?”
“Oh, that? Yeah, I heard. Same day of the eclipse apparently. Crazy coincidence huh?” Gin said as Alanis nodded.
“So weird! It came out of nowhere! I haven’t heard any news of anyone getting hurt though so I guess that’s good.” Alanis said.
The girls were enjoying the day just washing the car and splashing each other with water that they did not notice the rather short creature flying around the place. Adira had Diane in a headlock while Gin and Alanis laughed at the situation as GoIdie squeezed water out of her hair. The creature had been successfully kept itself hidden due to the girls paying more attention to each other than their environment but did the mistake of flying too close to Goldie, who freaked out when she felt a presence nearby and almost on instinct took off one of her sandals and threw it at the creature, the pressure of the sandal make it go splat on the wall! Goldie watched with wide eyes before calling out to the others. “GUYS!”
<----–
And that’s how we got here!
“Dude… what the fuckknuckles is THAT?!” Diane exclaimed as she and the other girls looked down at the creature that had fallen to the ground after getting slapped AGAIN.
“A mosquito?” Alanis suggested.
“Too big for a mosquito.” Adira said.
“Cucaracho!” Gin exclaimed as the creature groaned. “Should we call someone?”
“Yes but not our parents.” Goldie said.
“That much is obvious. Gen?” Gin asked as the others nodded. “Gen it is then!”
Taking out her phone, the cotton candy looking girl looked through her contacts and called the one that was named ‘Raccoon’, waiting for the person to answer. The phone rang around 4 times before the person picked up.
“What did you guys do this time?” A tired and exasperated voice asked through the phone.
“Hey, what makes you think we did anything?” Gin asked.
“You never call unless you wanna ramble or you fucked up somehow. You said you were cleaning your mom’s car, what’s there to ramble about THAT?” The girl on the phone asked.
“…Okay, we have a bit of a situation.” Gin admitted.
“Thought so. I’m coming over.” The girl sighed before hanging up.
“Sooooo…” Diane said as she poked the creature with a stick. “What do we do with this?”
“Okay, what am I looking at?” A girl that appears to be the oldest of the bunch asked, looking at the creature that was now wrapped in a towel on a bed.
The creature’s face was half really dark brown, and the other half was orange, its cheeks seemingly having what would be considered blush that could only be found on dolls. The girls were all in Gin’s room, Gen looking at the creature while the others looked at Gen.
“¿Mosquito?” Alanis said.
“It’s too big to be a mosquito.” Gen, the oldest, deadpanned.
“¡Mosco!” Diane exclaimed.
“It doesn't even resemble a mosquito! Why are you calling it a mosquito?!” Gen said as the girls just shrugged, making her groan in annoyance. “Okay, it is definitely NOT a mosquito or any kind of bug. It’s not anything like I’ve ever seen before.”
“It’s lucky Ally didn’t accidentally squash it.” Adira said as Alanis giggled nervously.
“Maybe it’s a fairy?” Goldie suggested.
Silence…
“Nah.”
“Can’t be.”
“Impossible.” “I don’t think so.”
The girls were slapped behind their heads by Genesis when they said that.
“It is clearly a fairy! Jeez, y’all dumb or what?” Gen said. “Also, why is that so hard to believe huh? Have you forgotten the amount of times you all have gotten us in trouble because you messed with some magical thing when I specifically tell you NOT to mess with?”
“Oh yeah… In my defense, I forget.” Diane said.
“Of course you do.” Gen said as she turned to the fairy. “You think it’ll wake up soon?”
“I don’t know dude, Alanis slapped it a lot.” Gin said.
Gen sighed as she sat down on the bed beside the creature. She rubbed her temples as she felt a headache come in. It hasn’t even been a week since the last magic trouble the girls have gotten into and now they have a fairy in their hands. Just peachy!
“You think it’ll be mad?” Gin asked as she poked the towel burrito fairy.
“I mean, I’d be mad if I was slapped to a wall.” Adira said.
“Heheheh, I’m in trouble.” Alanis chuckled.
“Yeah you are.” Goldie said.
“Ughh…”
The girls all snapped their heads at the sound, looking at the towel burrito fairy… who was waking up. Its eyelids slowly fluttered open, revealing mismatched eyes with the irises being orange while the right sclera was a yellow color, almost white while the left one was pitch black. Most of the group backed away a bit but Gen stayed put, she didn’t have the energy to back away from a potential threat nor did she really care.
“Ooooh, we fucked!” Diane said as the girls agreed.
“Smol!” Goldie exclaimed in awe.
“Abby would so cry at its clothes.” Alanis mumbled.
“Agreed.” Adira said.
The fairy appeared a bit groggy when it woke up but snapped open its eyes the moment it took in its surroundings and saw the girls, HUMAN girls, standing there, staring at it.
“Hi!” Gin said to the fairy, a wide smile on her face.
The moment realization set in, the fairy’s expression turned to one of pure hatred as it tried to get out of its fluffy prison. The girls watched the creature struggle a bit and couldn't help but giggle.
“Okay, this is kinda funny to watch.” Adira said as the others chuckled.
They didn’t laugh for long, however, when the towel caught fire and turned into ashes.
Silence came over the room…
And then…
“¡Cabrón!” Gin was the one to break the silence with her scream, grabbing the fairy from the bed as she looked at the pile of ashes on it. “Now it’s gonna smell like smoke…! Dang it…”
“Unhand me this instant!” The fairy yelled in indignation.
“And the towel, the fucking towel! I am so lucky I used an old one, if I used one of the new ones, my mom would have killed me!” Gin said, not hearing out the fairy.
“Honestly, same.” Adira said as Alanis nodded.
“Me too! Ashes on the bed? Oh, that’s a death sentence!” Diane added her two cents.
“Ow!” Gin exclaimed as she dropped the fairy and looked at the palm of her hands in confusion. “Did you just burn me??”
The fairy did not answer at first, it simply flew in the air, glaring at the group of girls who either looked shocked, confused or just… bored.
“Why am I here?!” The fairy demanded to know.
“Uhh, Goldie kind of made you go splat on a wall cause she thought you were a bug so we brought you here to make sure Ally didn’t accidentally kill you when she slapped you two other times.” Diane said as she looked at Goldie and Ally.
“Sorry, I panicked…” Goldie said, a bit embarrassed.
“It’s instinct! If it twitches, ya gotta hit it to make sure it stays dead!” Ally said as the rest looked at her, unimpressed.
“Anyway, who are you?” Gen asked, turning to the fairy with a raised brow.
“Why should I speak to you maggots?” The fairy seethed at the humans.
“I don’t know. I’m kinda bored.” Gen said.
“So this is how it’s like being burned… Cool!” Gin said with a wide, very unsettling smile on her face.
The fairy looked unnerved and confused at the cotton candy color haired girl’s reaction at being injured. Seriously, what the hell?
“You gonna answer my question or question why cotton chick is a masochist?” Gen asked. “I advise you don’t do the latter, you’ll end up scarred for life.”
“Why would you humans want to know who I am?” The fairy said as he narrowed his eyes at the girl.
“Curious,” Gen said with a shrug.
“…Just that? Curious?” The fairy repeated, scoffing in disbelief. “You’re serious?”
“Yeah, I am.” Gen said tiredly. “You know, you’re kinda rude.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, am I supposed to care about how I treat your kind?” The fairy said in a mocking tone, grinning like a little shit, which annoyed Gen.
“I don’t know what your deal is but can you please not act like a total douche?” Gen said as she scowled slightly at the fairy.
“I could… but I only do so for people who truly deserve respect.” The fairy stated. “What, you think I should respect you lowlives? How pathetic can you be to expect such a thing from me?”
Now that made Genesis snap.
“Okay, ya wanna be a bitch now? Fine! You listen up! I was called to make sure these gals didn’t get themselves killed cause they swatted an oversized cockroach who might as well have dropped dead. I was worried that they killed an innocent creature but it seems I was wrong.” Gen scowled at the fairy, who glared back. “Who do you think you are, acting all high and mighty? You think you’re better than us huh? I don’t know who you are and frankly I could care less but I swear to whichever god exists above, I WILL make sure you pray to them if you are to insult or burn one of them again.”
The human girl and the fairy stayed silent as they kept glaring at each other for a very long while, neither breaking eye contact. Meanwhile, the rest of the girls were watching all this unfold with bated breaths.
“Okay, getting bored, Gin, I am raiding your fridge!” Diane said as she skipped out of the room to the kitchen.
“Yeah yeah, whatever!” Gin said as she looked at her burnt hands.
“Okay, let’s get that patched up.” Adira sighed as she dragged Gin away to heal her burns.
“Did we ever finish washing Gin’s mom’s car?” Goldie asked.
“Ugh, I’ll finish washing it.” Gen groaned as she grabbed the fairy. “And you are coming with. I ain’t letting you out of my sight.”
The fairy yelled at Gen and thrashed around, demanding she put them down. It even tried burning her but it just… didn’t work?
“Mom friend immunity!” Diane yelled, answering the non asked question of the fairy’s.
This was going to be annoying.
Hosing off the leftover soap suds from the car, Genesis was in a rather bad mood now. One because she was interrupted from doing a project, two because she had to deal with a jerk ass fire fairy who kept trying to burn her and three, she had to finish washing the car cause she doubted the other girls would do so.
“You certainly look like a ray of sunshine.” The fairy said sarcastically while in Gen’s grip.
“Shut up. I have a headache and your stupid comments are NOT helping.” Gen mumbled as she rubbed her temples.
She was feeling very drained, even speaking was too much work…
“I am aware.” The fairy said with a grin, which annoyed Gen even more.
“Okay, I am sorry my friends swatted you but can you not act like a total jerk? It’s getting old.” Gen said as she looked at the fairy she was holding.
“Like that will stop me.” The fairy scoffed.
Gen rolled her eyes, figuring she would get nowhere with this stubborn as Hell fairy.
“...Why does my fire not hurt you?” The fairy asked Genesis, which caught her a bit off guard.
“What?” Gen asked as she turned to the fairy.
“I said, why does my fire not hurt you? I have been trying to hurt you but it’s not like you even feel it!” The fairy said, grumbling under its breath. “It’s frustrating…”
“I… don’t know.” The girl mumbled.
“So you’re a freak of nature huh?” The fairy said, trying to get under her skin.
“Yep.” Gen said just that.
“Seriously? That’s it?” The fairy said, frowning at the girl’s one word answer.
Gen just nodded her head.
“Oh, so now you’re not going to talk? What, did I hurt your feelings?” The fairy mocked.
Gen only shook her head.
“Then why aren’t you speaking?!” The fairy screamed at the girl in frustration.
Gen just shrugged her shoulders. She felt tired so as soon as she finished cleaning off the car, she went inside Gin’s house, where she saw the girls chilling inside with Gin having some bandages on her hands. Gen grumbled under her breath, getting the attention of Adira and Alanis. “Hey, you okay?” Adira asked as Gen shook her head. “You tired?” Gen nodded as she handed the fairy to Adira before going over to the couch and laying on it, quickly falling asleep.
“What’s wrong with her?” The fairy asked, kind of confused.
“She’s just drained, is all. College applications are taking a toll on her so it makes her more exhausted than usual.” Adira answered as she put the fairy down on the table. “Let me guess, she only shook or nodded her head to any questions you had.” “Yes.” The fairy said.
“Yeah, that’s how you know she’s super drained! Like, drained enough so that even speaking is too much work!” Alanis added herself into the conversation.
“Other times she just doesn’t feel like speaking and communicating through texts and stuff.” Adira said.
“Texts?” The fairy repeated.
“Yeah, you know, text messages.” Adira said, waving her phone around a bit.
“What is that??” The fairy asked, confused.
“A… phone? Have you ever seen one?” Adira asked.
“I have but I do not know the purpose of such tools.” The fairy said as it flew around the house, checking some of the stuff around the place.
The fairy looked around, staring at the walls and the rooms of the house. It entered Gin’s room, taking proper notice of its surroundings now. It was a pastel red color with a dresser and a large, circular mirror, white shelves on the walls that held some pretty old cartoon mouse plushies, some posters of different fandoms (not like the fairy would recognize any of them), a cream colored dress that had a closed laptop and a drawing tablet along with some traditional art tools. Near the window was a bookshelf with a collection of books, some going as far as being horror to comic books while also having some figurines placed between some parts of it and some movie DVDs too. The closet was filled with different outfits, some being different variations of red and most being pants, some even being suits. Hanging there was a pink, fluffy robe with snowflake and dogs with Christmas hats and scarves patterns. On the door were hanging different types of purses, like, a lot!
“This is… some room.” The fairy mumbled.
“Pretty neat huh?” Gin said out of nowhere while eating fried chicken, startling the fairy.
“Where did you-” The fairy said before getting cut off.
“Don’t worry about it! Anyway, you don’t know what a phone is so I suspect you don’t know what a laptop is either.” Gin said as she ate her chicken.
“That would be correct…” The fairy muttered as he looked at Gin’s food. “What are you eating?” “Fried chicken! The best there is!” Gin said, noticing the way the fairy looked at the food. “Want some?” “Me? Want your human food? Hah! Don’t make me laugh!” The fairy laughed but was cut off when his stomach grumbled.
“Ya sound pretty hungry to me.” Gin said as the fairy growled at her. “Listen, I don’t know why you dislike humans so much and I know it ain’t my place to ask about it but can you please at least just not antagonize us? You can ignore us, you can act like we don’t exist, that’s fine. But don’t treat us with such disrespect when we don't do anything.” “Your friend swatted me into a wall.” The fairy said with a deadpan at the memory, which made Gin grimace.
“Ooookay, that one is on us.” Gin said as she rubbed the back of her neck.
Silence took hold…
“You’re an odd one. Smiling after being burned.” The fairy said. “Why would you smile? Doesn't it hurt?” “I mean, yeah, of course it hurts. But I guess cause I don’t get hurt often, it sometimes spikes my adrenaline, like how it did when I first dyed my hair!” Gin said with a grin as she ran her fingers through her multi-colored hair. “You ain’t wrong, I am kinda odd but it beats being boring! As for the pain, why worry...? Something like a burn will heal eventually with time no?"
Gin laughed softly as she left a plate of chicken on the desk of her room as she walked to her door.
“I will admit, my friends and I are not the most efficient of the overall human population. We are not fully sane I would say but I think we are alright. At least we are decent enough to not be jerks to customer service!” Gin stated proudly. The fairy did not understand that last bit.
“You can stay if you want, as long as you don’t cause problems. Name is Gin, by the way. Gin Rose.” Gin said. “Doubt you’ll actually use my name but hey, it’s best to know anyway right?” With that, she left the room. The fairy looked at the open door for a little while before flying over to the desk with the plate of food.
“What a strange girl.” The fairy stated as he looked at the food.
And then Eclipse took a bite…
----- So a few months ago I wrote a mini fic called When Autumn Starts about my OC Daniel meeting and interacting with Fairy Eclipse so I decided to make a longer fic where not 1 but 6 of my OCs interact with him! It was fun making this!
Hope you enjoyed this lil fic! DCA Fairy AU and Fairy Eclipse belong to @ayyy-imma-ninja (I hope I got his personality alright, I know it's not 100% accurate but I did my best!) Goldie, Gen, Gin, Adira, Alanis and Diane belong to me!

wow OKAY i absolutely loved your yan!bookstore owner!renjun drabble… may we have a pt 2 please??
Part One
***
The bell above the door chimes once more, signalling a new customer has entered his shop. Normally, seeing you walking in would bring a smile to Renjun’s face, and it still does partly, were it not for the person you walk in with.
“Hey Junnie!” You greet cheerfully with a wave.
“Hey,” he greets back, nearly scowling at the man who visibly snorts beside you at hearing the precious nickname you ever so lovingly use for him. Renjun’s jaw clenches. “What brings you in today?”
Though his question is clearly pointed at the man beside you, especially given the way Renjun not so subtly glares at him, you are the one that answers.
“Well, Chenle said he was kinda new to the neighbourhood and asked me to show him around.” You reply. “And since you are the owner of my favourite bookstore, he wanted to come check it out.”
A certain smugness settles onto Renjun’s face as he watches Chenle grimace at your choice of words, “did he now?”
“Yeah,” Chenle meets the older male’s gaze, “gotta scope out the competition.”
If only you knew just how loaded those words were.
“Not my problem you bought in a location with an already established bookstore,” Renjun deadpans.
“Junnie!” You scold. “Be nice!”
“Yeah, Junnie,” Chenle smirks, and so badly does Renjun want to wipe that expression off of his face. Luckily, you walk over to the manga display in the next moment. “Be nice.”
Renjun’s eyes narrow at the younger male in front of him, “what the fuck do you think you’re doing?”
“Me?” Chenle smiles innocently. “I’m finally making my move, unlike someone who has had years to make one, but is too scared to do so.”
“They’ll never fall for you,” Renjun says, more for his own reassurance than anythings.”
“Oh, really?” Chenle quirks a brow, “because it seems to me that I've successfully managed to take them out with me on a date while you’re stuck manning the counter.”
“You’re on a date?” Renjun seethes, but before much more can come of their conversation, you’re returning to stand beside the older male.
“Junnie, can you put volumes four and five on hold for me, please?” You grab his arm, batting your lashes at him sweetly. “I promise I'll be back later to pick them up.”
“Of course!” Renjun’s voice nearly cracks as he’s quick to reply. He clears his throat, much to the amusement of Chenle. “Anything for you.”
“Sweet!” You smile. “You’re the best!”
All too soon, you’re pulling away from Renjun and moving to stand beside Chenle once more.
“I’ll see you later, then!” You cheer, sending him another wave as you walk out of his store with Chenle.
And yet again, Renjun’s mood plummets as he sees that smug look the younger sends his way. Ah, yes, your date.
Stupid Chenle with his stupid feline grin.
Soon, he’ll be able to wipe that smirk right off of Chenle’s face. Besides, he hasn’t lost just yet. After all, you promised Renjun that you’d be back, and then finally, he can make his own move.

Outrage
They were just past the intro and already Jade was irate. She grumbled and crossed her arms. Cat side-eyed her, nervous of an impending storm.
“This is ridiculous! That dude is already cheating! I hate this season,” Jade complained, hands gesticulating to the screen.
“It’s only the second episode,” Tori called from the kitchen where she was making popcorn for them. Jade scoffed and rolled her eyes.
“Thank you, Catherine Obvious!” Cat sing-songed back to her. A glance at Tori showed her chuckling to herself. Jade fumed.
“Stop saying it that way,” she snapped.
“Tori says it that way,” Cat responded with a pout.
“I don’t give a chiz. Just because she says it that way doesn’t mean it’s right. Besides, Vega isn’t the brightest star in the sky,” Jade remarked with a wave of her hand.
“Hey!” Tori exclaimed, having just walked over and heard the tail end of Jade’s comment. Cat laughed.
“Ha! That means you aren’t smart,” she pointed out. Jade rolled her eyes and Tori frowned, setting down the two bowls of popcorn on the coffee table.
“I can’t decide whether to take that comparison as cute or mean,” Tori mumbled, sitting down next to Jade.
“Exactly,” Jade said with a nod. Tori gasped and Cat laughed again.
“Why are you so mean? I’m dating you!” Tori stated. Jade merely nodded again.
“You just keep proving my point,” she responded. Tori stared at Jade with a wide-eyed, attempt at threatening, glare. Jade wasn’t fazed and stared back with a brow raised. Cat was rolling on the floor, laughing. Neither knew why she thought it was so funny, but they were used to Cat being Cat.
“You’re just grumpy because this show sucks and it isn’t going the way you want it to,” Tori finally said, voice even.
“No I’m not,” Jade grumbled, arms crossed again and eyes averted. Tori smiled softly and reached out to pull Jade closer, pressing a kiss to her temple. She didn’t react except for a light blush. Her gaze remained pointedly on the ground.
“Yes you are. You always redirect when you’re upset. But it’s okay. Sooner or later he’ll mess up so badly it’ll take your mind off what he did because you’ll be too busy laughing at him,” Tori explained gently. All too used to Jade’s moods.
“Awwww,” Cat cooed from the floor.
“Shut up, Cat,” Jade said, tone terse and quick to silence her. Cat only giggled, just as used to Jade’s moods.
“Do you want me to change it? We can find something else,” Tori said, picking up the remote. Jade snatched it from her hand and set it back down.
“It’s fine. We can watch this,” she muttered, grabbing a bowl and shoving it into Tori’s hands before she could say anything. She then tucked her feet up and leaned into Tori, eyes on the screen and expression impassive. And yet, Tori knew it was only to distract her from the fact that she successfully calmed Jade. She exchanged a smile with Cat who was climbing back on the couch on Jade’s other side. They finished the episode in relative peace and moved on to the next one. They were halfway through when the cheater finally got what was coming to him.
“Ha! You’re out, sucker! That’s what you get!” Jade jeered with a violent stab at the screen with her finger, clearly enjoying the situation. Her quick movement jostled Tori, who bumped into Cat, but it wasn’t a bother. They were just glad Jade was just as invested in the show as they were.
“See? Like I said-” Tori began, only for Jade to blindly slap a hand over her mouth.
“Yeah, yeah, I heard you the first time,” she dismissed, dropping her hand to her lap a moment later. Tori smiled and took it into her own, turning her attention back to the show. It was kind of hard to pay attention now that Jade was laughing at someone’s misfortune. It was hard to pay much attention to anything when Jade laughing. Jade took notice and scowled.
“Vega, you’re missing the best part,” she scolded, cheeks lightly blushing once more.
“Am I?” Tori questioned, grinning when Jade’s blush worsened.
“Ugh,” Jade grouched, looking away. It was Tori’s turn to laugh.
“You guys are so cute!” Cat commented. Before Jade could threaten her, Tori cut in.
“Oh my gosh, that cheater is getting publicly humiliated! Look!” she exclaimed, getting both Jade and Cat to look at what was happening on the screen. Jade cheered and Cat laughed. Tori looked between them before joining them. A minute passed and then a kiss was pressed to her cheek, lips lingering.
“Thanks,” Jade whispered, leaning away just in time to meet Tori’s eyes when she turned to look at her. They shared a smile and turned away to watch the show together. Nothing more needed to be said.

Chapter 14 - Crimson Red
chapter word count: 1.8k words
~PRESENT DAY~
~third person POV~
"Chan, before we go... can I show you something?" Emilia smiled sweetly and grabbed her boyfriend's hand, dragging him through the garden towards the greenhouse.
"You still have that?" he chuckled, pointing to the small key in her hand.
"Hmmm, I should return it, shouldn't I? I've already finished my masterpiece more than four months ago." She winked.
"And you waited that long to show me?! Can't wait to see it."
The girl swiftly opened the door and stepped inside, running excitedly to a covered canvas.
"You're like a kid!" Chan laughed, watching the girl unveil the painting of the white lily.
"It's called Rebirth." Emilia exclaimed proudly. "We don't know how today might go, so I just wanted you to know that I'll always be on your side, no matter what."
"I know that already." Chan grabbed Emilia's waist and pulled her into a deep kiss. "My love, there's nothing to worry about. We will kill him and then come home and make love like there's no tomorrow, then we'll sleep like angels."
"That sounds good." She chuckled.
"Hey, sorry to interrupt. And bleah." Minho's voice echoed through the glass greenhouse.
"No worries, is it time to go?" Chan spoke seriously.
"Yea. Woah, what a nice painting." Minho replied, pointing to the canvas. "A lily? Didn't know you have an artistic side as well."
"Yea, thanks. Then, shall we?"
"Mhm. Everyone's waiting. Let's go."
Emilia took one last glance at her painting and locked the greenhouse. There was an unexplainable uneasiness growing in her and no matter how hard she tried to push it away, it would just come right back, more forceful than before.
~
"Nervous?" Felix asked concerned, watching Emilia fidgeting.
"Come on, how can she not be? It's a big day for her!" Hyo placed her hands on top of Emilia's, assuring her that everything will be okay.
"We'll be fine, right?" the nervous girl asked, a tint of worry in her voice. She corrected herself soon after, adding: "Of course we'll be, let's do this, guys!"
The trip to the Scarlet Rose Manor was about two hours long, leaving the Teams enough leisure to go over the plan multiple times.
They left the cars as soon as they came close enough to the gates to be able to infiltrate, and all teams did so successfully, despite the high security.
"Shit, this place is huge, you were right, Shade." Hyo chuckled and helped the girl climb through a small window of what used to be her old room.
"This looks exactly the same, it's kinda creepy, actually." Emilia chuckled in a low voice, pointing to the room around her.
"They didn't have enough time to redecorate, probably." Hyo chuckled.
"Hah, wow, look at these pictures! The heck? You used to look so happy!" Felix pointed to a few mini films on the vanity.
"Woah, you're right, who is this good-looking dude?" Hyo shared Felix' excitement.
"Yah, what is that supposed to mean? I still look happy, don't I?" Emilia rolled her eyes, glancing at the small photos showing her and San fooling around.
She was glad to see his face again, but she knew that this wasn't the time to get lost in long gone memories. She collected the few photos and placed them in her pocket, taking note to look at them more carefully later, when they successfully end the mission.
She also picked up a red lipstick, what used to be her favourite shade that brought her signature look. Coincidentally, it was the same one she wore the fateful night she met the love of her life.
~
Chan was glad that the party downstairs was going so well. That gave them the opportunity to roam freely through the empty halls of the mansion, all the guards being stationed down there.
"It's just as Shade said, these guys really are idiots." Changbin chuckled in a whisper.
"Seungmin, all good on your side? Can you hear us all?" the leader spoke through the earpiece.
"Yes, Boss, I hear you well. It seems everyone's devices work so far with no issues. The mics seem to be breaking up a bit, probably because of the blockers around here, but I think we'll manage."
"That's great. Please let me speak to Lee Know and Shade. Also add Hyunjin."
"Mkay. I'm connecting you."
"Yes, what's up?" Minho replied quietly.
"Shade, you also there?"
"Yes, here with Lix and Hyo, preparing to go to Tunnel B."
"Hyunjin, can you also hear us?"
"Would you like another refill, sir?" Hyunjin's voice spoke sweetly, soft music tunes and chatter being heard in the background.
"Okay, I'll count that as a yes." Chan chuckled. "Is the target still in the Main Hall?"
"Yes, sir. I would also recommend you try the charcuterie board. I could get you a serving, if you wish. However, word got around that the star of the show might be gone any minute now, so it might be best to enjoy the party and eat afterwards."
"Great. Is everyone else, ready? Me, Changbin and Momo will separate to go to our positions in Tunnel C."
"Yes. I'm stationed in Tunnel A." Minho confirmed.
"We are also splitting up to reach Tunnel B." Shade affirmed.
"Let's go. Wherever the Boss might come, be prepared, and put a bullet through his head."
~
"Are you guys ready?" Emilia looked at her teammates with a nod of her head, before slowly opening the door to the hall. "All clear."
"Okay, so, as discussed? Lix goes to scout, and we head together towards the room, yea?" Hyo wanted to confirm one last time.
"Yes, let's go."
Going into the hall, Felix ran towards the right side of the house, and the girls headed towards the left. As soon as they found the room they were looking for, Hyo closed the door behind.
After a while, she asked Emilia:
"So, you think he'll come here?"
"I'm not sure, honestly. I'd say probably not. He would probably go to Minho..."
"Hence sending him there alone. Tightest security means we need the best of the best to be there, so don't worry too much." Hyo placed her hand assuringly on her friend's shoulder, nodding briefly.
"... okay. But don't you think it's weird these suddenly stopped working? We haven't heard from anyone in some time now..." Emilia continued sceptical, pointing to their earpieces. "What if they were caught?"
"I doubt it. You've been on edge the whole day, let's chill out for a bit." Hyo seemed less tense and urged Emilia to be more relaxed as well. "They are grown ass men; they can handle themselves no matter what. Seungmin must've messed something up and closed our micros in the process. No need to worry, it's not the first time it happened."
"Isn't it? Okay... You are right, there's nothing to worry about. If no one comes here in the next hour and we still don't hear from anyone, we'll bail, just as the plan."
"Exactly, let's just stick to the plan."
~
Time went by without any incident, the watches on their wrist pointing out that it was time to retreat.
They made their way to Emilia's old room and tried the earpieces once again.
"Hey, can anyone hear me? Sky? Damn, these still don't work!"
Emilia helped Hyo open the old windows and started mentally preparing herself to leave and hear of the mission's failure.
"What about Felix?" she glanced at the door, securing the gun tightly on her belt. "Shouldn't we wait for him?"
As soon as Emilia turned around to hear Hyo's response, she felt a painful sting in the left side of her lower stomach. Crimson red blood started flowing from the wound before she could make sense of what happened.
"Hyo...?" she asked in a quiet voice, not understanding why one of her best friends for the last couple of months stood guilty in front of her, a blooded knife in her hand.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for this moment." Hyo spoke bitterly. "These months seeing you and Chan lovey dovey all over the house... how you came out of his room almost naked every morning..." she spat out, disgust plastered all over her face.
"I... what do you mean, Hyo? I thought..."
"How you looked down on me when you bossed me around to tell Chan that I solved the gun trade issue! You think I would ever make amends with you?! I never trusted you! You're just a two-faced bitch who wants to take us down!" she screamed.
"Are you fucking crazy?!" Emilia retorted and pulled our her gun, pointing it towards her newfound enemy and pulling the trigger. To her surprise, though, the magazine was empty.
"You planned this all along, haven't you?!" she pressed on her wound and watched horrified as her former friend pulled out her own gun and pointed it towards her head.
"Ever since you walked through our door." Hyo smiled eerily and loaded her gun.
Everything started to make sense. Hyo's behaviour changed too drastically.
"Then... just tell me," Emilia started quietly. "The baby... it was you the whole time, wasn't it?"
"Took you a while to figure out! God, I really don't know how Chan didn't put two and two together. I was the one who helped him set the mission up, and he didn't suspect a thing when you found that dead woman there! I love the guy, but he can be so dense sometimes!" she chuckled. "Now, any last words?" Her smile grew wider.
In a twist of fate, the door opened that exact same moment, a worried Felix entering quickly.
"None of the devices are working so I- oh God, what happened, Shade?! Hyo?! Did you do this?!" the boy angrily turned to Hyo. "I can't believe-"
It was clear now that the girl was not expecting anyone else to come in and witness her crime, so, in a panicked frenzy, she fired at Felix, hitting him two times in the chest.
He fell down to the ground immediately.
"You crazy bitch!" Emilia shouted. "What have you done?! Lixie, I will get help for you! Please hang on!" She cried. She just couldn't believe her eyes. Why was this happening?
"Oh, God, what have I done?!" Hyo cried as well, dropping to her knees next to Felix. "It's because... it's because of YOU!" she accused Emilia and patted the ground around her trying to find the gun that just fell from her hands from the shock, moment when Emilia saw her only chance to survive. She kicked her with her leg to win some time, then ran out of the room as best as she could with her blooded wound and put as much distance as possible between herself and Hyo.
Thanking her memory for not failing her, Emilia managed to stumble to the garage after what felt like forever and find keys to the many cars her former Boss collected. Distant sounds of a party could still be heard in the background, which made her wonder if her former Boss was dead or not.
And even more importantly... was Felix dead?
She knew she had to get out of there as soon as possible and reach the others... Jeongin might still be able to save Felix.
No, he would definitely save Felix, right? He can't die. It's impossible. Emilia tried her best to calm herself down, dark thoughts reaching out to her from every corner of her mind and clouding her judgement.

Monday 29th January 2024
Hey journal so today I had a driving lesson when I left the house I looked a saw a completely different car again as apparently the car he had in for repair is in for repair again as it completely just stopped working the other day like awfully. Anyways this car was a seat and was very similar to the golf that I drove the other day however this one had a really low clutch point so at the start I keeped on stalling which was really annoying as I just was not use to this car. Then I also at one point when I stalled had this work truck behind me that just bursted he’s horn at us like that was going to help the situation. Anyways after a while I got use to the car. Also another thing is I wasn’t close enough to the clutch so I found it uncomfortable until he made me do a reverse manuever and I changed the seating then so i was more comfortable. After my driving lesson I saw my mate that I speak to in the gym called Owen and he was showing this thing about Amazon and he was not sure if it was a scam. Then I did my push gym session and it went really well tbf and I really enjoyed it. After my gym session I walked home and listened to some music. Once I got home I had shower then spoke to faith a little bit. Then she spoke to me about this boy she has been speaking to that lives in the irle of man. Anyways they have been chatting and he has been singing her songs and telling her that he would fly out to see her. Anyways one wrong thing he did do was he lied about he’s age then owned up to it after a couple days. Basically when talking he said he was 18 then admitted the other day he is actually 17 and nearly 18 and faith is 20. I don’t think the age gap is to bad however i do think it is bad that he lied about he’s age and is a red flag in it self that he has already lied. Anyways after a while i left the house and me and my mum went to pick up Kaiden. This was the first time I had been to my brothers school. Anyways after picking him up we met with one of kaidens friends mum and Kaiden and he’s friend Josh came out at the same time. When together they are a right pain in the ass. Josh was worse though and kept on chasing me and attempting to lick me he also licked my jacket successfully a couple of times.
Then after this me my mum and brother went to my Nan’s house for my cousins birthday tomorrow so we gave him he’s present and spent time with him. We also had round Nan’s aunty Mel, my cousin Ellie and Louis the one who’s birthday it is tomorrow. Anyways Nan and grandad were not there as they are currently in America and Mel is just going round the house occationally to check on everything. We did not go round Mel’s house as the dog is there and sometimes the dog and kaiden don’t get on as Kaiden is really loud sometimes. Anyways it was good round then and catching up with everyone. After this me, my mum and brother went to my work to get some food, then after this we ate it at home. Since I’ve been home I’ve been relaxing a little but I have also been posting a few tiktoks and watched some YouTube. Some YouTube about the gym and other videos about cars. Anyways this has been my day I will speak to you later journal, bye journal!

Because I’m an angst-addicted ball of misery, is it okay if I request drabbles of Fuckboy!Atsumu and Fuckboy!Oikawa being the crush of the reader but she knows of how they treat other girls and doesn’t want to end up heart broken and since she’s shy and introverted, the boys barely know her aside from her being a classmate?
She tries to keep a simple distance away from them until said boys randomly show an interest in her and they start showing her attention, love, and treating her better than the girls they messed with until after a few weeks she overhears from them or their teammates that it’s out of pity/they were bored because Y/N seemed easy to mess with.
Y/N doesn’t let them know she overheard them, instead a switch is flipped and she’s emotionless around them and avoids them. When they ask why she’s like that, she simply says “I won’t let you hurt me like the others.” She basically treats them like they don’t exist (she’s friendly to everyone but them) and said f!boys regret it and bust their asses to fix everything between them (I read how you felt about full angst, so the reader just blocked their number, social media’s, and treat them like the plague until they prove that they truly love her or regret messing with her :) )

Hey, bub. Sorry for the slight delay! I hope you don't mind me making slight adjustments about the plot for my comfort 🥺 And uh... this drabble turned out to be a oneshot because I got carried away. I only did Atsumu's part which went over 3k+ works 👁️👄👁️ Anyway, I hope that you still like it. Have a good day, stay safe and hydrated! ♥️

You stared at the back of Atsumu's head dreamily, your elbows propped on your desk as you basically ignored the world around you.
Contrary to the belief that noisy students always sat on the back, Atsumu and his twin were actually seated in front. Despite being in the middle of a class discussion, the two kept on chattering as if the teacher didn't exist. The teacher basically gave up already trying to shut them up since they never listened anyway.
You knew that she could've just sent them to detention but of course, who would do that to the miya twins? People almost worshipped them and your teacher wasn't excluded. Everytime she entered the room, you noticed how she would always cast a glance at the Miya twins and smile "politely."
The two, of course, took advantage of it. If it meant being able to get away with their noise by just simply smirking at the teacher in front of them, they'd do it. They already did anyways. They never did anything more than that though, and for some reason you were thankful that they never crossed that line.
You jolted up slightly when the bell suddenly rang, a loud yelp slipping past your lips out of shock. With your eyes widening like saucers, you felt your cheeks heating up when majority of your classmates turned their head towards your direction, some having a grin on their faces while the others having a look of displease.
However, their stare didn't matter as much as a specific person's did. A pair of brownish eyes stared at you intensely, his gaze so intense it was enough to make you almost squirm in your seat.
Feeling your heart rate picking up along with the shiver running down your spine, you looked down at your lap, successfully cutting your eye contact with Miya Atsumu - the guy you secretly liked despite being hailed as your school's certified f!ckboy.
"Make sure to finish all your requirements this upcoming weekend. You're all seniors so I have high expectations on your outputs, understood?"
With a series of "Yes, ma'am," the class was dismissed.
The room was filled with different noises - subgroups gossiping with each other, the footsteps of students hurrying their way out, the rustling of papers, clanking of chairs and the voices of the class representatives reminding the assigned people to clean properly.
It was lively, for them at least.
As for you, you preferred being alone. No, you weren't some weird nerd kid who acted as if they hated the world. Instead, you preferred categorizing yourself as one of those people who were naturally shy and introverted.
You don't really like crowds nor socializing. You've always opted on sitting by the corner, just enjoying the calmness silence brings you.
Grabbing your books from your desk, you stood up and made your way to the door, head casted a little downwards to avoid making eye contact with people, knowing that doing so will result to interactions, and who has time for interactions anyway? Certainly not you.
With the lack of paying attention, you failed to notice someone who was rushing their way out. Like a cliche movie, your body collided with them, the impact causing you to stumble backwards, loosening your grip on your books as they fell on the floor.
Luckily, the person behind you managed to catch you on time, their hand gripping the small of your back to keep your bum from meeting the floor.
"Whoa, there. Ya alright, princess?" spoke the familiar voice just behind your ear, his breath against your skin giving you small goosebumps.
Instantly, you jerked away. Turning around to face him, you bowed down while muttering continuous apologies. "Miya! I didn't mean to bump into you, I.. I swear. I was just walking out and then somebody j-"
Chuckling, Atsumu placed a hand on top of your head, giving your hair a small ruffle which eventually made you look up at him. "Calm down, I ain't mad at ya. No need to be so flustered."
With a stiff nod, you mumbled a small "Okay," before bending down to pick your books off the floor. You didn't fail to notice how your hands were trembling and you silently prayed to whoever diety was watching over you that Atsumu won't notice it.
"Yer y/n, right?" Atsumu asked as he bent down as well, one hand clutching your book as he let his finger trace over the name written on it. "A pretty name fer a pretty face like yers."
You wouldn't be surprised if he'd ask if you were doing okay because by now, you were a hundred percent sure that your face must be looking like a red tomato. "Thanks I guess," you said, giving him a shy smile before taking the book from his hand.
The small encounter was cut off by someone calling for Atsumu's name. Turning your head to the direction of the noise, you noticed Osamu walking towards you with a small frown on his face, one hand gripping the strap of his bag as he went on how they're going to have to run extra laps again if they ever got late for practice.
Atsumu only chuckled at Osamu before turning his focus back on you. With a cheeky smile, he booped the tip of your noise fondly. "Guess I'll see ya around, pretty thing. Careful not to stumble again, alright? Don't want another man catchin' ya."
With that, Atsumu went on his merry way, turning around one more time to send you a wink, chuckling as you gave him a slow wave before his figure disappeared from your vision as a mere dot.
"See ya later..." you whispered on thin air, lips unconsciously curling up as you stared at the direction he went off to. Once you snapped out of your daze, you bit your lip to stop yourself from squealing like a school girl in love.
Well, technically, you were a school girl in love, right?
That night, as you laid on your bed staring at your ceiling full of glow in the dark stars, you thought that maybe it wasn't so bad making conversations with people every once in a while.
-
The days went by pretty quickly.
At first, you thought that everything will be back to normal. After all, you never tried associating yourself with people. Your high school life was basically nothing but waking up early for school then going back home after class and then repeat.
However, something was strange. In fact, it was very strange. Not only were people trying to befriend you but the one and only Atsumu Miya was actually making an effort to talk to you, and to say that you were confused would be an understatement.
He basically didn't pay attention nor spared you a glance before, until that day you bumped into him.
You knew that it wasn't a good practice to judge someone based on what other people say but he wouldn't be called as your school's f!ckboy for nothing. He'd change his girlfriend almost every week as if he's only changing clothes, cruelly dump those who did not meet his certain standards and doesn't care even if a girl cries infront of him. Those are exactly why you tried not associating yourself with him nor his twin.
But there was something about Atsumu Miya that kept on drawing you in. You didn't know if it was his annoying piss colored hair, intense gaze, or the aura surrounding him. You couldn't help but wonder how someone like him, the exact type of person you swore you hated, managed to keep you attracted like a moth on to a flame.
It was weird.
And yet you loved it.
"Ya know y/n, ya kinda wound me," Atsumu said, plopping himself down beside you on the cafeteria.
With your hand clutching the chopsticks mid-air, you surveyed your area, noting how some heads, specifically the Inrizaki VBC's, turned to your direction. "Sorry, what do you mean?" you muttered as soon as your eyes met Atsumu's.
"I literally thought we're already friends when I saved yer ass from falling backwards," Atsumu answered before stuffing his mouth with an Onigiri, no doubt made by Osamu.
Placing your chopsticks down, you wiped your lips with some napkin before speaking up. "I'm sorry for asking this but... what's with the sudden interest, Miya?"
You were aware of how snappy you sounded, but in reality, it was your own defense mechanism acting up. Just how were you supposed to ignore him when it's he himself who kept on clinging to you?
"Hm, what do ya mean? Is it so hard to believe that I'm trying to befriend ya?" Atsumu tilted his head a bit to the side, his lips curling up into a smirk. "Why not try givin' me a chance, princess? That isn't so much to ask for."
You organized your now empty bento, placing it on the side before focusing your whole attention to the man in front of you. "I've seen how you treated girls before," you said with a low voice, averting your gaze from him to avoid melting into a puddle.
Damn stupid feelings.
"I see..." Atsumu said with a slow nod. "Then I guess that makes it more of a challenge."
Your eyebrows immediately furrowed upon hearing that, your curiosity spiking up at what his words meant. "Challenge? What do you mean?"
Instead of answering you, Atsumu just stood up, his bento in hand with the side of his lips curled up. "I'll see ya around, princess."
With that, you were left alone in your table, eyes still trained on Atsumu as he made his way back to the Inarizaki VBC's table. You watched as most of his friends chuckled while patting his back, some even sending a glance towards your direction.
Deciding that pondering over it would only be a waste of time, you stood up and made your way back to your classroom, failing to notice a grey haired Miya watching you.
-
You let out a small squeak as someone behind you reached for the same book you've been trying to get for almost 5 minutes now. Tilting your head back a little, you were met with an upside down vision of Miya Atsumu's face.
With your arms still raised in the air, you spun around to face him, your back flush against the bookshelf keeping you basically trapped. "Miya," you mumbled while looking up at him, one hand fisting the side of your skirt to release some pressure.
"Here," he simply said while handing you the book, obviously holding back from laughing at your flustered expression. "Don't worry, I ain't gonna try anythin' that would make ya uncomfortable. I was just passin' by and saw you strugglin'."
"And he even tucked my hair behind my ear!"
"He did that?" your cousin spoke from beside you.
Both of you were seated on top of your bed, legs crissed crossed as you gossiped about your interactions with Miya Atsumu.
For the past few weeks, you've been having encounters with Atsumu - in the cafeteria, in the library and even outside of school where he claimed that he was out to buy some ingredients for Osamu and only managed to bump into you "coincidentally". Name it and he'll be there.
With these constant encounters stirring up your feelings, you had to resort on calling your cousin for some girl time in order to save your sanity. Luckily, your parents had no objection. They were even happy that you were actually trying to open up to other people. It was only your cousin but according to your parents, "A small step is still a step."
Plopping your back on your bed, you grunted as you placed both of your hands on your cheeks. "Mhm. I just don't get it you know? He's basically this popular guy that plays volleyball, has a group of girls swarming over him and has the face and body that looks like it's been sculpted by God himself, and yet he's wasting his time on me."
You looked at your cousin with a small pout, one hand reaching out to poke her thigh. "Am I just overthinking things?"
With a breathy chuckle, your cousin laid down beside you. "Maybe? I can't really say for sure since I don't know this Miya guy except your description of him, but what I think is that you should give him a chance."
Hearing that, you laid on your side to face her, elbows propped up against the mattress as you rested your cheek on your palm. "Aila, have you been listening to me? He is a f! ckboy. Dangerous, treats girls like shit, and undeniably sexy. What if his sudden interest is only a one time thing? What if he's just messing with me?"
"And what if he isn't?" Upon hearing no reply, your cousin took your silence as her cue to continue. "What if people just labeled him as this so called 'f!ckboy' because that's what they perceive him to be? What if inside him is just someone who's vulnerable, trying to protect themselves from getting hurt by people so they end up hurting others first to save themselves from the pain? What if he's just waiting for someone who wanted to really know him, the real him? Would you really deprive him of that opportunity just because of what you hear from other people?"
"I... I don't know.."
"Miya isn't here to defend himself and I'm not trying to defend him, but don't you think you should at least give him the benefit of the doubt?" Aila smiled as she settled herself on a comfortable position. "Give him a chance, y/n. Everyone deserves to get one. It's up to him to prove whether he's worth the chance he was given."
You sighed deeply, letting her words sink in as you also shifted yourself on a comfortable position, raising your comforter up until it reaches just below your chin. "Then what happens if he isn't worth the chance he's given?"
With a hum, your cousin just shrugged. "Then you either forgive him and let it go or... give him the finger and tell him 'f!ck you' for messing with your feelings," she said with a short giggle.
"It's something only you in the future can decide. Goodnight, y/n."
With a thankful smile, you turned the lamp off as you whispered, "Mh, goodnight, Aila."
-
"Let's be friends," you said as you slammed a box of onigiri in front of Atsumu, a smacking sound resonating in the air making the rest of the boys look at your direction.
Even the sound of balls whooshing in the air stopped, replaced by the sound of them dropping suddenly on the gym's floor.
With his lips parted, Atsumu shifted his gaze from the onigiri, Osamu, Suna and you. "Ah..." he muttered as if he was just as shocked as you for having the guts to come inside the gym in the middle of their training.
Feeling your cheeks heating up out of embarrassment due to his lack of response, you looked down and started to fiddle with you fingers. "You said you wanted to be my friend and I kept on keeping my distance from you so I thought you might appreciate those onigiri as my peace offering." You scratched the back of your head before giving him an awkward smile. "A-anyway, that's all! I'll see you around, Miya!"
Atsumi could only watch you as you dashed out of the gym. Snapping out of his daze, he looked down at the box of Onigiri, smiling unconsciously as he noticed the sticky note posted on top with "Good luck on your practice, Miya! :))" written on it.
"Interestin'," Atsumu whispered before standing up, Kita's voice filling the air as he called the team back for practice.
-
It's safe to say that after that embarrassing moment, you became friends with Atsumu. You even became close with his twin because they were always with each other. It wasn't long then when the usual duo became three - Atsumu, Osamu, and you.
It was hard to adjust at first. Your female classmates would always glare at you and spout out some nasty remarks but the twins were always there to defend you. In fact, you even met the whole team and hanged out with them when you didn't have some academic tasks to finish.
It was fun, and you were thankful for your cousin who gave you the advise of giving Atsumu a chance.
But there was a downside on the situation.
Your feelings which you kept hidden for a long time was only growing day by day, and you were afraid that it was slowly showing signs.
How?
Everytime Atsumu was near, your heart would beat so fast that you felt like you just finished a 4 kilometer run. Your hands would become clammy, breath would hitch, and face would heat up whenever he teases you, and don't even forget to add that one time you literally froze when you spun around, only to come face to face with him - nose almost touching, lips ghosting against each other with only an inch keeping you apart.
You were playing a dangerous game and yet you had no intention of stopping, not knowing that it wasn't only you who had a secret.
Because Atsumu Miya was also playing a game - something much more dangerous than yours.
-
"Where's 'Tsumu?" you asked as you peeked your head inside the gym.
Kita, who was about to walk out, gave you a smile before opening the door wider for you to come in. "Atsumu's in the storage room. The twins made a mess again so I told them to go clean up before we start practice."
"Typical," you said with a short giggle. "Anyway, I'm just going to drop off Atsumu's hoodie that I borrowed last week. I'll watch over them while you do your business."
"That would be great. Thank you so much, y/n-san. Call me if something happens," Kita said, giving you a small nod before leaving.
As you entered the empty gym, you grimaced upon seeing something that looks like spilled milk on the floor. With a shake of your head, you made your way near the storage room sneakily in attempts of scaring Atsumu.
However, as you got closer, you heard two familiar voices. It was Atsumu's and Osamu's voice, and basing from the way they were speaking, it seemed as if they were in the middle of an argument.
"The fuck did ya say?" It was Osamu.
"I said I was only playin' with her. I mean, she's so easy, don't ya think? It basically only took me a couple of weeks and she came runnin' to me with that box of Onigiri, claimin' she wanted to be friends," Atsumu said, followed by a chuckle. "As if I didn't notice the way she acted around me. I'm telling ya, that girl is in love with me."
"And so, what if she is? That's not an excuse for ya to play with her feelings, dipshit."
Hearing Atsumu huff, you slightly backed away from the door, only to freeze when you heard his next words.
"Y/n is nothin' but a toy to me, somethin' I can dispose of when I got bored."
Biting your lower lip, you clenched the handle of the paperbag you were holding before running out with tears streaming down your face.
You ran as fast as you could, ignoring the worried looks you're getting from the people you were passing by. Even Kita was shocked to see you yet he didn't bother calling out, thinking that you might be needing some alone time for yourself.
You skipped class.
Throughout your whole Highschool life, this was the first time you skipped your class and it was a bummer that the reason was Atsumu Miya.
Stirring your strawberry milkshake from a nearby cafe, you thought about Atsumu's words, another batch of tears streaming down your face as you realized how pathetic you were for believing that he isn't what others say.
Maybe your cousin was wrong.
Atsumu Miya wasn't worth the chance he was given, because he only proved that once a f!ckboy, always a f!ckboy.
-
You blocked Atsumu's social media accounts.
In fact, you even blocked and deleted his number to stop getting in contact with him.
Even in person, you didn't bother paying him any attention unlike before. You stopped coming to their practices, stopped giving him food and stopped talking to him.
You basically acted as if he didn't exist.
It was hard because you knew that your heart belonged to him, but you had to endure it. You didn't want to give him the satisfaction for playing with you. You know your worth and there's no way you're going to let some f*ckboy ruin you.
"Y/n, would ya stop?!" Atsumu said as he grabbed your wrist, effectively stopping you from walking away from him any further.
"Get your hands off me, Miya. I don't wanna talk to you." You struggled against his hold, trying to take your hand back, only to fail when he tightened his grip.
"The hell's yer problem? What's with the sudden attitude? Yer basically ignorin' me and I don't have any idea what I did. Just tell me what I did wrong instead of actin' like a little brat." Letting go of your wrist, Atsumu groaned as he ran his fingers through his hair out of frustration. "I.. I don't like this."
You laughed, eyes squinting as you let out a fit of giggles before pointing at him. "You don't like this? Why not, Miya? I'm just a toy for you, right? So, I don't really get why you don't like this. Is it because you're not bored of me yet so you're not willing to dispose of me?" Crossing your arms over your chest, you looked at him with a serious expression. "Well, I'm sorry to say this but I'm not going to let you hurt me like the others. I'm not a plaything nor am I desperate like those girls pining over you. Have fun looking for a new toy. You're not worth playing with anyway."
That being said, you turned your back on Atsumu, ignoring the whispers that suddenly filled the hallway as the students parted some space for you, leaving Atsumu with his lips parted and feet frozen on the ground.
Serves you right, Miya.
-
Atsumu felt hollow.
With every passing day that you're ignoring him, conversing with people whom you never bothered associating yourself with before, the more he regret taking advantage of your feelings.
It was only supposed to be a game, nothing but a pass time and yet why did it felt like something was missing?
"I wasn't supposed to care," Atsumu said desperately while clutching his head in his hands, elbows propped on the table as he opened up to his twin. "F!ck...I think I like her, 'Samu."
"No shit, idiot," Osamu answered without taking his eyes off the stove. "I told ya several times to stop messin' with people's feelings and did ya ever listen? No. That's what ya get for bein' stupid."
Groaning, Atsumu rested his cheek against the table, facing Osamu's back. "Help me."
Slowing down from stirring the pot, Osamu looked at Atsumu through his shoulder. "Why would I do that?"
"Well, I'm yer twin. Aren't ya supposed to help me? Plus... y/n acts fine around ya." Atsumu sighed before sitting up properly. "I won't bother ya fer a week if ya help me out. I already did everythin' I could. Flowers, chocolates, even payin' attention in class just to impress them! Nothin' worked."
Osamu chuckled at the desperation and frustration in Atsumu's voice. "Deal." He turned the stove off, covering the pot before making his way to Atsumu. Sitting down, he crossed his arms over his chest while staring at the brokenhearted Miya. "Y/n is actually kind. Well, not until that moment she found out about yer stupidity. Have ya tried showin' her that yer willin' to change?"
Atsumu nodded. "I did. I even gave her the usual things girls like."
"I asked if ya showed her that yer willin' to change, not tried winnin' over her through bribery." When Atsumu didn't respond, Osamu let out a 'tsk' before continuing, "Just stop botherin' her and prove that ya regret what ya did."
"Easier said than done," Atsumu grumbled which earned him a smack on the head.
"Will ya stop bein' a sad boy already? I have a plan."
-
Its been two weeks.
Two weeks of no Miya Atsumu trying to apologize. Two weeks of no Miya Atsumu following you like a lost puppy while holding either chocolates or flowers.
Instead, what you were getting were these random post it notes on your locker, your desk, everywhere. Wherever you go, there would be random post it notes with various messages. Some contained cheesy quotations, the others short apology letters.
And despite how mad you were at Atsumu, you wouldn't be able to deny how cute the act was. Not only did he gave you space but also exerted an effort of silently letting you know that he'd be willing to wait for you.
You noticed how he stopped acting like a boss in class, opting to jot down notes instead of chattering with Osamu like usual. You also noticed how he stopped having a random girl beside him during breaks. Everytime you would pass by, no longer would he try to block your way and flick your forehead, but instead give you a hopeful smile before proceeding on his way wordlessly.
But what made you realize that he indeed regret what he did was that one time.
You were walking back to your classroom after forgetting your umbrella. The sound of the heavy rain tapping on the ground resonated on the empty hallways, the cold wind making you shiver as it whooshed in the air.
Wrapping your arms tightly around you, you entered your classroom, eyes widening as you saw Atsumu trying to fit something on the space below your desk while mumbling something.
Clearing your throat, you noticed Atsumu jolting up slightly before turning around to face your direction.
He smiled sheepily before scratching his nape. "I know it's yer birthday tomorrow so I was tryin' to fit this here. I guess there's no point hidin' it already since ya caught me anyway." Sighing, Atsumu picked up the fox stuffie and handed it to you. "Happy Birthday, y/n. I know yer still mad at me and ya probably hate me but I still wanted to give ya a present."
You stared at the fox in your hand, your fingers poking the fluffiness of the material as you fought back the urge to smile. "Thanks," you answered with a dismissive tone.
For a split second, it was silent, and you were aware of the intensity of Atsumu's gaze burning on your forehead, yet you refused to look up, knowing that once you did, you won't be able to hold yourself back and might just forgive him there and then.
"I like ya, I really do. I know I messed up big time fer taking advantage of ya and I'm sorry fer that. It was stupid and childish of me to think that the people around me are nothing but mere toys fer me to play with. I regret hurtin' yer feelings and I'll be willin' to wait until ya forgive me. Just know that I won't stop until ya do."
Hearing something rustling, you looked up and noticed Atsumu taking off his jacket. Within a few steps, he was already infront of you, draping his jacket over your figure. "I'll see ya around, princess. Don't get sick, alright?" Smiling, Atsumu gave your cheek a small pinch before heading out.
You were left in the empty classroom with nothing but the fox stuffie serving as your company. Atsumu's scent was swirling around you from the jacket you were given and at that moment, you haven't notice the single tear sliding down your cheek.
Because of all people, you never expected for Atsumu Miya to be the first one to greet you without having to remind them.
He was the first person you knew outside of your household to ever remember your birthday.
You hugged the stuffie close to your chest, burrying your face on top of its head as you let the comfort it brings envelope you.
-
You stared at the empty space infront, your head swirling as you thought of the possible reasons why Atsumu haven't been in class for three days now.
It's currently your last subject and throughout the whole day, you've been doing nothing but wonder where he was. You haven't asked Osamu about it yet since he was excused from the class due to the preparations for the upcoming match.
And so, the moment your class was dismissed, you rushed your way out, making your trip to the gym. You were thankful that they were in the middle of a water break so you had the chance to call out Osamu's name without having to worry about Kita.
"Y/n?" Osamu's eyebrow shot up upon seeing you. Suddenly, a knowing smile made its way to his lips. Standing up, he walked over to you. "He's sick," he said without even waiting for you to say something.
"Oh.." you muttered, shifting from one foot to another nervously before tugging at the hem of Osamu's jersey. "Do you... uhm, do you think it would be alright if I visit him after your practice? I wanna see if he's doin' alright."
"Alright. I think 'Tsumu would appreciate that. Why don't ya sit on the bench and wait a little for us to finish practice then ya can visit our house after?"
Upon hearing that, your face instantly lit up. You smiled at Osamu as you nodded.
Osamu only chuckled at you and fondly ruffled your hair, a habit he and Atsumu shared.
You waited patiently, and it wasn't long then when their practice finally finished. After Osamu took a shower, you both went on your way to their residence.
As you entered their house, Atsumu's voice immediately met your ears.
"'Samu! Cook me somethin', I'm starvin!"
You looked at Osamu who only shrugged as if he was already used to it. You took your shoes off and wore the slippers you were given before placing your bag on the couch.
"Our room is on the right. Go ahead and talk to him." Osamu said as he pointed on the door at the end of the hallway.
With a nod, you slowly made your way to their room, knocking softly before sliding your way in.
The first thing that greeted you were the mess of opened junk foods on the floor. Roaming your eyes around, you grimaced at the sight of empty water bottles littered around along with the volleyball laying on the ground.
Averting your eyes away from the trash, you looked at Atsumu whose back was facing you, his shoulder raising up and down evenly, indicating that he must be asleep.
Carefully, you walked claser and sat on the edge of his bed, your hand immediately feeling his forehead. "You're burning up," you mumbled, brushing his hair away from his face.
Suddenly, Atsumu's hand gripped your wrist, his eyebrows furrowed as he squinted his eyes. "Am I dreamin' or are ya a ghost?" he asked with a raspy voice.
"I'm not a ghost, 'Tsumu. I'm really here."
You watched as Atsumu slowly nodded before letting go of your wrist. "What're ya doin' here? I thought ya were still mad at me." Sitting up, Atsumu held the comforter close to him as he shivered.
"I heard you were sick. I'm no longer mad at you. I guess I'm still upset but I just can't hold a grudge against you forever, can I? That's not something I can do," you said with a shake of your head. "I really like you, you know? Despite your title of being a f!ckboy, I still fell for you. You were the first person I tried opening up to aside from my cousin. It's just a bummer that you ended up taking advantage of that vulnerability."
You felt Atsumu reaching out for you, his hand enveloping yours as he gave it a small squeeze. "I know, and I'm sorry. I really am."
"And if I give you another chance, will you prove me that you deserve it?" you asked as you looked at him, "I'm still hurt about what happened so I hope that if I give you this chance, you won't waste it."
"Yes. God, yes," Atsumu answered breathlessly, "I promise it won't happen again and I'll try to be better."
Suddenly, Atsumu wrapped his arms around your figure, pulling you on his lap as he settled his head on the side of your neck. "Thank you," he mumbled repeatedly against your skin, his arms tightening around you as if he was afraid of letting go.
And he never did.
Indeed, there was something about Miya Atsumu that kept drawing you in, and despite the bumps and dangers that came along your way, you didn't withraw.
Because as you closed the last page of your photo album eight years from then, you realized how right your cousin was alll along.
Atsumu Miya was worth the chance he was given, and he proved it to you every single day, sealing it with the diamond ring now resting on your left hand.

Tumblr media
- tries his very very best to stay calm
- you can see panic bubbling under the surface
- faust is on high alert
- slithers around your shoulders and squeezes you for a hug
- "friend! hurt!"
- doesn't immediately ask what happened, just gets you to a comfortable place to be cleaned up
- then, and only then, will he brave to ask what happened to you
- or who did this to you
- wipes the blood from your skin with very gentle swipes
- winces when you wince, and apologizes profoundly
- "Y/n, how did this happen? i thought you were just taking a quick trip to the market."
- "i fell in the market, tripped over a stone"
- "and nobody helped you?"
- in this case he's disappointed with the bystanders, but does not become angry
- in a situation where someone hurt you?
- oh god
- "Y/n, how did this happen? i thought you were just taking a quick trip to the market."
- "yeah, well, somebody had their eye on the same apple i picked up. somehow, though, they managed to push me to the ground and steal it from my hands."
- i don't even think he would know what to say
- and asra is not really the type to march out into the streets of vesuvia and seek to challenge the one who hurt you
- but he would certainly hold a grudge against whoever it was if he did find out
- and would feel absolutely awful about letting you get hurt
- his mind would race about the possibility of losing you again
- because he simply can't handle it
- and what if that person had been particularly violent or malicious? what if you had been taken??
- you'd have to comfort the hell out of him to make sure he knows that you're okay
- "asra, hey, i'm fine! i can handle myself, you know that"
- "you're right, and i know you're right. it's just hard"
- "it's still hard for me, too. the market still makes me a little nervous and i got caught a little off guard, is all"
- that would make him feel better
- would finish patching up your wounds and would make sure to bring you to julian the next day if they were too bad for him to fix or needed stitches
- would also create a special brew to help with the pain and ease you to sleep
- "why don't i go down to the market tomorrow?"
- "why? so when you pick a fight over apples, i can pay you back for all of this high quality medical treatment?"
- "well of course, surely you didn't expect all this tender love and care to be free" *wink*
Tumblr media
- panicked doctor mode enabled
- immediately begins checking you over, asking questions
- something tells me it would be a head injury of some sort
- "oh darling, what happe- you're bleeding!"
- "julian, i'm okay! it's just a little scratch"
- "no no no you might need stitches, come sit down. i'll go get my kit!"
- there's really no use in arguing
- he has cold ass hands, so he tries to warm them up before he begins suturing the wound
- tries to be gentle, and his expert hands move quickly without any snagging
- "so, how did this happen?"
- his voice is literally trembling
- "well, i was in the clinic grabbing the list of ingredients we need for our next grocery trip and there was a puddle of... something on the floor. i slipped and hit my head on the corner of your desk"
- immediately thinks it's his fault
- like "oh shit i should have cleaned better that could have killed y/n and then what would i have done-"
- doesn't necessarily voice this, but you can tell by the silence that follows that he's feeling really guilty
- would kneel for you, head on your knees
- "y/n, i am so sorry"
- "juli, it's really okay, i should have watched where i was going"
- "i'll make sure to clean better from now on, okay?"
- would guard you throughout the night in case of concussion
- nurse juli <3
- but let's say someone had put their hands on you
- would patch you up the same way, and apologize profusely for not being there with you
- tuck you into bed and fetch mazelinka to keep an eye on you throughout the night incase of a concussion
- would most definitely be self destructive and seek that mf out
- maybe not successfully, but would try his hardest
- "i'll be back in the morning, get some rest"
- "I can find them myself if I want to, you know"
- embarrassed blush
- because he KNOWS you can take care of yourself
- "of course, but right now you're hurt. as your partner, i will do what must be done on your behalf darling"
- probably shows up the following morning with battle scars of his own
Tumblr media
- the guards found you in the garden, passed out in the maze
- blood trickled down your arm, a large gash marking your bicep
- ran you up to the palace and immediately to the medical wing
- them]n nadia gets word
- the calm, collected queen act disappears
- abandons anything she's doing, anybody she's talking to
- "we will finish this at a different time, i have more important matters to attend to"
- she is so worried and it's honestly adorable
- very much giving "where tf are they?" energy
- god i love her so much
- anyways um
- asks the nurses over and over what happened, if you're okay, etc.
- watches the physicians and nurses like a hawk as they clean the wound and suture the cut
- and they're so intimidated lmao they never come face to face with her literally ever
- brushes your hair back from your face as they do so
- holds your hands
- would demand that you be brought to her sleeping chamber
- so that's where you wake up! how cute
- she's laying beside you, her brows furrowed
- maybe even her eyes are a little hazy
- "y/n, sweetheart, do you remember what happened?"
- patiently waits for your answer, you're still a little groggy
- you were either attacked by an animal and passed out from the fright
- or you were attacked by an armed person and was knocked out
- either way, the guards are on it
- nadia isn't letting whoever or whatever did this get away without a fight
- the palace is meant to be a safe haven for you
- for the both of you
- "well, don't you worry, we'll take care of that"
- you try to sit up but she won't let you
- "oh no, you must stay down, y/n. you are possibly concussed from the fall"
- "oh okay, sorry"
- "is there anything i can get you?"
- the countess of vesuvia, serving you in your time of need
- "just some water would be nice"
- "of course, i'll have some brought up right away"
Tumblr media
- i literally feel like he would just start crying straight up
- cause like he has some problems anyway
- he big sad boi
- and you coming home to the hut bleeding from a gash in the arch of your foot is not helping
- picks you and carries you to the bed without a word
- just starts examining the cut
- inanna is also very concerned
- she licks the blood from the cut, she's trying to be helpful
- meanwhile muriel is stumbling around the hut looking for anything to stop the bleeding, disinfect it, bandage it, anything
- but he's not the best about keeping that stuff in stock
- keeps looking back at you with worry in his eyes
- he doesn't know what to do
- "muriel, let me see if i can contact asra. maybe he or julian can bring me a salve. i'm pretty sure i'm gonna need stitches"
- low-key makes him feel worse
- cause he feels like he's unable to care for you and keep your safe
- even tho this was just an accident
- he's breathing really fast, his anxiety creeping
- agrees anyway, but goes to get them himself
- "i'll be back soon, just keep this piece of cloth pressed against it"
- cause you're bleeding like a lot
- inanna stays behind
- he returns very quickly with julian in tow, though he doesn't look happy about it
- leaves the hut without another word
- julian gets to work immediately
- "so, you cut your foot i see"
- smartass.
- "yeah, muriel always tells me to put on shoes when i walk in the woods but i love to feel the grass beneath my feet"
- julian chuckled at this
- "and i'm assuming you, what, stepped on a rock?"
- "...yeah, sliced it right open"
- after julian is done cleaning up the cut, he tells you to just stay off of it for a while and make sure it doesn't get infected
- once he's gone, muriel trudges back into the hut
- "muriel, baby, it was just a cut it's not a big deal"
- but his eyes look hurt, and you beckon him toward the bed
- "hey," your hands on his cheeks, "i'm okay, really"
- "sorry, i just got scared. blood is still a trigger for me and since you got hurt in my woods, i felt like it was my fault"
- "muriel, of course it wasn't your fault"
- he really needed a hug
- after this instance, he made sure to keep medical supplies in the hut and you promised to try and wear shoes in the woods more often than not
- "i'll try my best to be more careful. deal?"
- sweet lil smile
- "deal."
Tumblr media
- "oh my god, y/n, what the hell happened??"
- you were tending the garden
- without her supervision
- and the garden sheers might have sliced into the palm of your hand
- deep
- brings you over to the sink and runs water over the cut, covering it with a towel when the dripping blood had been washed away
- girl is on the move
- cause she knows what to do! love that
- low-key a main reason why julian managed to live as long as he has
- pepi is curiously perched atop one of the counters, peering down
- finds her personal first aid kit she had stashed in the bathroom
- guides you over to sit on the counter while she tries to figure out what to do
- "damn, you really cut yourself, y/n"
- "sorry! i think i just got a little carried away"
- she giggles at that, though she is still worried about the fact that it won't stop bleeding
- gently wraps the cut in gauze and adheres it together
- places a kiss to your fingertips
- "all done! no more gardening for you!"
- "hey, why not?"
- "well you don't want that cut to open back up again and again, do you?"
- "no"
- "alright then," she smiled, moving to put away the first aid kit again, "and we're going up to the palace medical wing first thing tomorrow morning to make sure it's not infected"
- eye roll
- "yes ma'am" you mocked
- even though you know it's just because she loves you
- "but since you got hurt, you want me to bake you some cookies?"
- "only if you let me eat the dough!"
Tumblr media
- good god do i love this man
- but he is so self-absorbed it's actually insane
- and I feel like he wouldn't even notice at first
- cause he's too focused on himself
- gazing into the mirror without a care in the world when you walked in
- "y/n, thank goodness you're home, how do you feel about these pants?"
- you just hobbled to the nearest seat, hand resting over the gash on your knee
- mercedes and melchior were lazing across a rug at the base of his mirror, their attention set on you
- "u-um, yeah, they look good"
- literally just trying not to bleed out, over here
- "good? oh really, now, y/n don't they look amazing?"
- "yes, they look ama- ow, damnit"
- then he turned around
- immediate shock and worry! oh no oh no y/n is hurt!
- mercedes and melchior walked over first, whining as they took in the cut, brushing around the edges
- lucio raced over, squatting down in front of you, and began examining the cut
- "hey, hey, what happened?"
- "i accidentally tripped on my walk in the garden and scraped my knee on the cobblestone"
- he was lightly touching around the cut, gauging how sensitive it was
- when you flinched he stopped, looking into your eyes with a soft "sorry"
- "i think i need to go to the palace infirmary"
- "oh there's no need, i can take care of you!"
- you were not convinced he could take care of you, at least not well
- "uh, lucio, are you sure?"
- he looked slightly offended, at that
- "you know, y/n, i did fight in battles at one point. i have not only tended to my own wounds, but the wounds of others, as well"
- you giggled at the thought
- "much to your protest, though, i'm sure"
- he moved to the small cabinet of medical supplies in the ensuite to your bedroom, returning to your side with it in hand
- "at points, but i don't mind helping you in the slightest"
- for all of his antics, his soft side was enough to make you fall in love all over again
- and although i know he would take care of you in literally any situation, i can't say for certainty that he would stick around and place nurse lucio for long if a person had hurt you
- attacked you
- much like nadia, the guards would be sent out without a second thought, lucio leading the pack in the search for you aggressor

Water Fights with the OM Bros
it’s 90 degrees outside at my place and you know what that means!!! water fight headcanons because I refuse to go outside in the heat in real life asdhgskjdgks
once again i’m only doing the brothers bc i do not trust myself with the dateables just yet lmao
Lucifer:
Literally only agrees to join because you’re so excited about it.
“...If it makes you happy, MC,” are his exact words. Simp.
You did agree to make the game have no points though, to keep things from getting competitive. Both at the advice of Lucifer and because you knew he would not join if there was any chance he could lose. (Also because Satan is a menace but we’ll get to that later.)
When all the brothers are gathered he suggests everyone pairs up into teams.
“You’re only saying that so you can cozy with M-” Asmo tries to say before being sprayed in the face with water.
“My hair!” “Oh, look at that. I suppose the game has started,” Lucifer hides his water gun behind his legs, but he can’t hide the shit eating grin on his face.
He takes your hand with a “Come along, MC,” and leads you away as everyone splits up.
You two make a surprisingly good team for this sort of thing! He knows the gardens well and also knows where each of his brothers is likely to go. You are quite skilled water water guns and balloons. He’s basically the brains and you’re the brawn.
He snatches a few kisses now and then when you look back at him excitedly after smacking one of his brothers with a balloon. You’re just so cute!
When everyone is all tuckered out and goes off to shower and whatever, Lucifer hangs back with you to thank you for organizing everything. With a kiss to the back of your hand, he says, “I’ll admit, I was...skeptical, at first. But, as usual, you brought my brothers together in a way I haven’t seen in a long while. Thank you, MC.”
Mammon:
“I’m MC’s first man, so I get to team with them!” “You’re also literally my boyfriend, but okay hun.” Cue Mammon blushing beet red at the nickname and muttering at you not to call him that in front of his brothers. (He doesn’t mean it; he loves that they know you’re his and vice versa.)
Strategically, the two of you are the absolute worst. But that’s because you’re both just there to have fun!
And have fun you do! You actually get in quite a few fun chases with Levi! He’s probably the most into the water fight out of everyone, the three of you are just running around the gardens pelting each other with balloons. It’s super cute.
Mammon is absolutely the type to yell “I’ll avenge you, MC!” every single time you get sprayed.
Eventually, you and Mammon follow Levi’s advice and start hiding in places to catch some of the other brothers by surprise. Which would be fine if Mammon didn’t blush super hard and start grumbling because of how close together you were when kneeling behind the garden wall.
You roll your eyes and surge forward to kiss him. He’s so shocked he has no idea what to do with his hands at first. But, after a second of pause, his water gun falls to the ground with a clatter and he wraps his arms around you.
“Get a room,” Is all the two of you hear before Belphie dumps a whole ass bucket of water on your heads. Mammon growls and jumps up to get the youngest before Beel can scoop him up, but you grab his hand and stop him.
You’re laughing super hard, and the sun is shining on your hair. You almost look like you have a halo...Mammon gives up the chase before it even starts because his MC is simply ethereal.
“Mammon!” You smile brilliantly at him when you finally stop laughing. “I kissed you to keep you quiet! And then you managed to make even more noise!”
He just hugs you then so you can’t see his blushing face. Stupid lovely human making fun of him. (He likes it, though.)
Leviathan:
This boy is literally the MOST excited when you tell him your idea. He was in on it from the very start.
He actually helped you get all the supplies! He opens his Akuzon account right away and starts showing you what water guns would be best and picking out huge packs of balloons made specifically for being water grenades. (Definitely had looked all this stuff up before in case he found a LARPing buddy.)
You ask him how much Grimm all this stuff will cost and he tells you not to worry. “I’ll cover it!” “But, Levi-” He interrupts you with big blush on his face.
“L-Listen MC. You’re m-my Henry! And I know this will be fun, s-so...I’ll cover it.” You leap forward and give him a hug, triggering a surprised but equally happy screech.
Honestly he is so excited you proposed an idea like that of your own volition. Like...it just makes him feel like all the games and stuff he finds fun truly don’t bother you. You haven’t been lying; you genuinely are interested in the same things as him. It makes him feel so warm.
When everyone is still arriving, you grab one of your water guns and do that cool spinny thing. You know the thing. The cowboy gun spin. You’re like, “Hey Levi! Check this out!”
BAM. Boy is OUT. So red his face is steaming. That’s the hottest thing he has ever seen in his entire damn life. What the fuck, MC. He is basically frozen on the spot out of sheer overwhelmed-ness as how hot that was. You have to drag him away when the water fight starts. Totally worth staying up all night figuring out how to do the spin trick with a water gun.
Once the action gets going, you two are unstoppable. No one escapes the fight unscathed thanks to y’all. All those late night Call of Duty sessions trained you for this!!
Your favorite tactic is definitely camping, though. You and Levi would pick a spot and hide there, waiting for one of his brothers to come by, and then...ATTACK!
If it actually were a competition, you two would’ve won by a landslide. But honestly, Levi didn’t really keep track. He was having too much fun watching you. You were so mesmerizing when you were in the zone and so gorgeous when laughing as you gave him victory high fives after a successful ambush.
You let him take a picture of you posing all tough with your water gun and he makes it his DDD background immediately. And his lockscreen so you can protect his DDD from intruders.
Satan:
THIS ASSHOLE. THIS MAN IS THE REASON YOU MADE SURE THERE WAS NO COMPETITION.
If there was any sense of competition, Satan would’ve gone absolutely out of his mind to beat Lucifer. He would make sure to destroy that man’s dignity as thoroughly as possible.
So, for the sake of both him and the eldest brother, no points. No contest. He grumbles about it, but, much like said eldest brother, he still joins because he sees how happy the idea of a family water fight makes you.
Satan treats is almost as seriously as Levi does. EVEN THOUGH YOU MADE SURE IT WASN’T A COMPETITION, HE DAMN SURE STILL ACTS LIKE IT IS. UGH.
Literally pulls a map of the House of Lamentation’s gardens out of his back pocket??? And puts it on the side of the fountain?? And starts planning maneuvers on it with you??? He pulls a pen out of his SWIM TRUNK POCKETS to use to point with and emphasize his points. You just blink at him. This is your mans. Good lord.
Considering his expert knowledge of the layout of the entire surrounding area of HoL from that map, he actually knows of some secret passages the other brothers don’t even consider. He takes you to them so you can use them to spy on what Lucifer’s the other brothers’ strategies are.
It’s only once you’re creeping around the tunnels that he realizes something: none of his brothers know where you are. They can’t bother you...time to make out.
Grabs your attention with a quiet, “MC” and gives you a smooch. Soon enough he is backing you up against the wall. A water balloon you have tied to your belt pops against the rough brick, interrupting the two of you.
Satan disregards it and move to kiss you again, but you let out a gasp. He’s worried for you for a moment: did you scrape yourself? But when you turn to look at him, there’s a mischievous glint in your eye that he loves to see.
“My water broke!” You whisper-exclaim dramatically, covering your mouth in fake shock. Satan has to nuzzle his face in your neck to avoid laughing and filling the tunnel with the echo that would alert his brothers. The two of you basically just canoodle in the passages until the water fight is over LMAO
Asmodeus:
Pretty much just to show off how good he looks in a bathing suit to you and anyone else who happens to be lucky enough to witness his glory.
He’s not the best at water fights and ends up using you as a human shield sometimes adjgfkjshf
“Asmo! Stop hiding behind me!” “I am not letting Lucifer mess up my hair twice in one day, darling!”
He comments quite often on how hot you look. Both in your bathing suit and also when in the zone looking for victims to douse in watery fury. You look like an action hero, MC! Have you ever thought about becoming the next Bond? Asmo could definitely pull some hypnotic strings.~
Every time you successfully pull him out of the way of an oncoming water balloon or block a blast of water from hitting, he totally melts. He presses his back to your chest, swooning against you and batting his eyelashes.
“Oh, MC, my hero! My dashing knight in shining armor!” You scoff, but think it’s super cute. You even play into it sometimes and pick him up bridal style.
“The king is looking for you, my prince,” you say once as you lift him, and he actually blushes. Asmodeus, avatar of lust, blushes at a silly pet name. He was not expecting you to get so into the role!!! He loves it, though.
For the rest of the water fight the two of you are basically roleplaying a royal and his knight bodyguard. It is stupidly fun and the both of you have an absolute blast.
“Oh, MC, my darling knight! I have amazing news!” Asmo says after the fight ends. You’re drying his hair off with a towel. “Yes, my liege?”
“In exchange for your wonderful and dutiful protection, you have been given permission by the crown to court me! Isn’t that wonderful?” He smiles and you throw your head back in a laugh. You lean down and give him a nice, long kiss on the lips before pulling away. “That is absolutely splendid, your highness.”
Beelzebub:
He loves the idea because it’ll get his whole family together and he knows it. He has to carry Belphie out there but that’s normal.
He helped you and Levi plan!! Excited boy. You filled him in when he joined you and Levi for a game night. He totally volunteered to go get some extra supplies from some nearby stores for y’all. So cute.
Once everyone is actually fighting, this boy WILL NOT STOP BEING A HUMAN (demon?) SHIELD FOR YOU. LIKE NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TELL HIM IT’S FINE, YOU’RE FINE, HE WILL NOT STOP.
“Babycakes, it’s okay. It’s water. It can’t hurt me.” “But I love you. I want you safe.” O H. O K A Y.
Someone call a doctor Beel just shot MC through the heart!!! He’s so genuine you just bright red and kiss his cheek because he deserve it.
“Well, I guess that’s settled then, huh?” He gives you a big Beel smile and nods, ruffling your hair affectionately.
Y’all get sprayed with water A LOT because your hungry boy is very big and hard to hide. Er, I should say HE gets sprayed a lot because he is a fantastic meat shield and you’re practically dry by the time the fight is over. He, on the other hand, is soaked to the bone.
He still insists on drying you off with a towel, though. The two of you dry each other off back in the twins’ room while Belphie dozes nearby in his bed.
You’re in the middle of drying his shoulders when he just starts talking. “That was really fun, MC. I’m really grateful for you. Ever since you’ve been here, things are always more fun. And you bring all my brother together. Thank you.”
You damn near burst into tears!!! Ahhhh!!! You sniffle and jump into his nap, wrapping your arms around him. “But MC, I’m still wet.” “I don’t care!! I’m giving you snuggles!!”
Belphegor:
Literally does not give a single fuck about a water fight until he realizes it lets him throw shit at Lucifer with absolutely zero consequences. Then he is all in.
Beel doesn’t even have to carry him around during the fight! Once he is outside and realizes all the shenanigans he can pull, he is perfectly content to grab you by the hand and be the one dragging you around, for once!
You two will probably team up with Satan and Beel at various points. Beel because he’s Beel, and Satan because he and Belphie absolutely set water balloon filled booby traps for Lucifer.
That’s his preferred strategy: set up a trap and wait in the bushes, watching for the target to approach.
He’s definitely the type to yell “Every man for himself!” if someone catches you guys hiding. Unlike his twin, he lets you get totally soaked while he runs away laughing. Dickweed.
You guys have a lot of fun, though!! Seeing Belphie excited is always a treat for you. And, though he doesn’t say anything about it, Belphie also thinks it’s a treat whenever you scheme with him. You don’t join in on his mischief often, so he always cherishes the times you do.
Eventually, after soaking Lucifer thoroughly, Belphie eventually gets a bit tired. You, however, want to keep the fun going. So, just as he begins to dose off in your hiding spot...you spray him. Right in the face.
He opens his eyes and sees you raising an eyebrow at him challengingly, giggling to yourself. He growls playfully and grabs his own water gun, quickly giving chase as you bolt.
Being a demon, he’s much quicker than you. But he lets you think you can escape for a few minutes before catching up to you and wrapping his arms around you from behind.
As you squirm and laugh in his embrace, he feels thankful he joined in on the fight, even if he was hesitant at first. After all, it led to this moment, where he can turn you around in his arms and give you a nice kiss as you melt against his chest.

Jungkook may have stopped talking to you, but he never stopped noticing you. But Jungkook had been carrying his own guilt that stopped him from approaching you. Every time you greeted him, all he could remember was how he ignored your texts and left you in the dark.
He wanted to message you and tell you he missed you. He wanted to tell you that he never wants you to leave his side. But he couldn’t. Not when he was the one who pushed you away.
Just when Jungkook had gathered himself to approach you, he noticed you enjoying yourself more. He saw how you got closer to the other track members, and he didn’t want to disrupt your life.
He figured that things were going well for you and it was better that he stayed out of your life. As much as it pained him to not be by your side, he knew he had caused enough damage.
Despite hating it, he made the conscious choice to stay out of your life ever since. Jungkook had convinced himself that it was the right decision.
“Take a picture while you’re at it.” Hoseok’s teasing tone brought him out from his thoughts. Jungkook scoffed, “Wasn’t looking.”
“Definitely believe you. You know she still tells me that it’s her fault.”
“She does?” Jungkook’s eyes darted back to you. You were enjoying your lunch with your usual group but with a new addition - Taehyung.
He used to be that fourth member of the group.
“It’s not her fault, it’s mine…” Jungkook mindlessly uttered with a forlorn gaze as he watched you joke with your friends. Hoseok patted his friend’s back encouragingly, “Use your words on the right person. Those words are not mine to hear.”
“You know I can’t do that. She’s happy now and I hurt her too.”
Hoseok sighed, chugging his Sprite drink down. “I give up on you dude. Don’t be stupid. It’s not too late.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
He grinned at Jungkook, “You should.”
“Hoseok! Jungkook!” A deep cheerful voice disrupted their conversation.
“Hey, Tae! Yn!” Hoseok was the first to greet you and Taehyung. Jungkook greeted Taehyung and glanced at your direction to say hi but you seemed to be actively avoiding his gaze.
Confused and slightly taken aback, he bit back his greeting.
“I’ll text you guys the details later but just wanted to check if you guys are free this Friday night? I’m hosting a small birthday celebration.”
“Sure! I’m free!” Hoseok nudged Jungkook, “You’re free too, right?”
“Yea I’m free.”
Taehyung grinned, draping his arms over your shoulder. “Great! Well, we gotta head off for class now. I’ll text you guys the details later!”
“I’m beginning to think it’s too late, Hoseok.”
Even though Taehyung had said those words nonchalantly, they have been glued in your mind. It was hard to consciously stop trying to smile and greet Jungkook whenever you saw him. But you knew Taehyung was right.
You had been trying for so long to salvage your friendship but to no avail. Jungkook had clearly made it clear that he did not want you in his life.
“Yn! Got you your favourite drink on the way!”
You smiled, reaching out to accept the drink, “Thank you Tae! You didn’t have to!”
He gave a short cheeky giggle as he shrugged his shoulders, “I know but you had a long day today. Plus, you just had a good run.”
You tried to ignore the fluttering in your chest as you thanked him once more. Despite it only being a month since you met Taehyung, he had been around you almost every day. He didn’t attempt to hide his happiness when he found you were both classmates for your Wednesday class for the semester.
It was refreshing to have someone so expressive around you again. At times, it reminded you of Jungkook.
“Yn! Let me see your schedule!” Jungkook reached out for your phone only for you to pull back. “Why do you have to see my schedule?”
Jungkook pouted, slouching his shoulders, “Because I want to be classmates with you.”
You shook your head jokingly, “Someone’s being clingy.”
“I am! I love having classes with you.” Jungkook extended his hands out one more time for your phone, successfully grabbing it while you were caught off guard by his response.
“You do?”
Jungkook’s eyes looked up from your phone to meet yours with a bewildered expression. “Why do you sound so shocked? It’s not a secret I love spending time with you. You’re my best friend after all.”
“It’s all practice. You’ll get there too.” You took a big gulp to quench your thirst, “In fact, you’re a really good sprinter. I’m sure you’ll improve in no time.”
“Very kind words.” He teased, tossing a clean towel over your head, completely blocking your view.
Taehyung placed his arms around your sweaty shoulders, “Now it’s your turn to watch me die out there.”
You pulled the towel off your face and your eyes landed on Jungkook who had been looking at you from afar. Immediately, your eyes darted away, focusing back on Taehyung.
“Good luck on your run.” You playfully pushed Taehyung away and watched as he got to his position as the first runner.
Jungkook hated how comfortable you were Taehyung. That used to be you and him. The two of you used to be the inseparable duo. He used to be the one teasing you and handing you your bottle. Why wasn’t it him anymore?
Jungkook knew the answer and he hated it.
Something in him snapped when he started noticing you getting closer to Taehyung. He knew it could’ve been him instead, but he pushed you away unintentionally. Jungkook had screwed it up and he was now facing the consequences.
As he positioned himself as the final runner, all he could think about was how you used to cheer for his name at the top of your lungs.
But right then, he could distinctly hear your voice cheering another man’s name.
Unlike last time, Jungkook acknowledged the feeling in his heart. It was as if someone had punched him in the throat and momentarily made him lose his breath.
-
Surprisingly, ever since you had followed Taehyung’s advice, you have been feeling lighter and it was obvious in your actions and expressions.
“The last time I saw you was that huge birthday party which wasn’t long ago, but I feel like I’m talking to a different yn.”
“What do you mean?”
Hoseok tapped his pen to his chin several times, trying to find the proper words to describe it. You had booked one of the study rooms for the day since Namjoon was over at your place and you didn’t want to disturb them either.
“You just seem less burdened.”
“Less burdened?” You repeated, furrowing your eyebrows in confusion. Hoseok nodded his head, as if he were agreeing with his thoughts.
“I didn’t want to bring it up, but Jungkook’s noticed that you have been avoiding him recently.”
You huffed, “I haven’t been avoiding him. I’ve just been appreciating those who are still by my side.”
He placed his pen down, letting out a long sigh, “Yn, you know that Jungkook still cares about you. I don’t get why you two can’t just talk it out—“
“You know why,” You said sharply, “I’ve given him space, reached out to him, always greeted him to get his attention. But what did I get in return? I get Jungkook trying to avoid bumping into me in every corridor.”
“Y-Yea… He hasn’t shown it in the best way but—“
“I’m tired Hobi, I’ve been trying for so long. I already feel guilty for screwing up our friendship because of some stupid crush. But at this point, I must be stupid for not reading the signs.”
Hoseok’s face showed it all. He felt bad for you. They all did. Every time Jungkook’s name was brought up, it always turned into a lecture of how you two should talk things out or how Jungkook misses you or how you should approach him one last time.
It got tiring at times, but you understood that Jungkook was their friend as well.
Maybe that was another reason why you liked hanging out with Taehyung. He didn’t know the full history between the two of you. Even if he didn’t, Taehyung never pressed to ask for more.
When you hung out with him, the topic was just you and him. It wasn’t about someone else or about any lecturing on life. It was just you enjoying life with Taehyung.
“It’s okay Hobi,” You glanced at your phone that lit up from a notification. Your tired expression instantly vanished when you saw his name. “He’s coming over right now!”
“Tae?” Hoseok’s pitiful expression morphed into something cheekier as he leaned back into his chair, crossing his arms over his chest. “Is this why your aura has changed? Is something going on with you and Taehyung?”
You scoffed, flicking your wrist to dismiss his accusation, “Please, we’re just friends. Good friends, that’s all.”
“Right…” He replied, unconvinced.
“You better not tease me when he arrives—“
“Hello!” The door to the study room busted wide open to reveal Taehyung with his arms outstretched in a welcoming greeting. “What’s for dinner?” He asked, dropping his bag on the floor, and plopping right next to you.
“It’s 2pm, Tae. Why are you thinking of dinner?”
“I need some motivation to look forward to.”
“Well…” Hoseok’s eyes glinted mischievously, and you flashed a warning look his way. Immediately, he changed his mind, “Instead of having dinner at the dining hall, shall we leave campus for some good meal?”
“Sure!”
“Why not!” Taehyung smiled, “Sounds good to me.”
For the next 2 hours, you managed to study with complete focus on your tasks, the two surprisingly did the same. That was until Hoseok’s phone started ringing.
“Hello?” He answered, “Yea… I don’t know, I gotta ask them… Yn and Taehyung…”
Your ears picked up your name and your fingers stopped typing as you tried to listen in to his conversation on the phone.
Hoseok covered his phone’s speaker and whispered, “You guys okay with Jungkook crashing? Library’s packed.”
Taehyung noticed the way your body stiffened at the mention of his name. He figured that you didn’t tell him the whole story, but he didn’t want to pry.
“Are you cool with it?” Taehyung asked you in a low whisper. You didn’t expect Taehyung to direct the question to you and it was thoughtful that he had asked how you felt about it since you had briefly shared your history with Jungkook.
“Yea I’m fine.” You nodded your head, facing Hoseok as he informed Jungkook that he could join in.
Though you tried to make yourself look busy with your revision, your mind was far away from your syllabus. Having Jungkook over was not helping your new agenda on closing the chapter.
“Yn, have you covered this chapter?”
“Mm?” You peered over to Taehyung’s laptop, “Oh I’m revising that now actually.”
‘“Great! Should we go through it together?”
“Yea sure,” You were thankful to have Taehyung force you to focus on your work while waiting for the Jungkook to come over.
It didn’t take long for him to arrive, knocking on the door before entering as he greeted each of you. You willed yourself to make eye contact with Jungkook, casting a small smile as you said hi.
Jungkook was hoping that the seat next to yours was empty. However, he kept his expectations low knowing that Taehyung was present. It didn’t need a genius to notice that you had been spending lots of time with Taehyung. Jungkook always looked for you at the dining hall, though he would chicken out when you made eye contact with him.
So Jungkook immediately picked it up when he always found Taehyung next to you when he spotted you at the dining hall. It left a sour feeling seeing your group become a 4-member group again. It had been a while since your group was ‘complete’, of course, it was because of him.
“Jungkook, wanna join us for dinner?” Taehyung strikes a conversation with the fellow track member opposite him. You stayed out of it as you kept your eyes on your laptop screen, attempting to forget that Jungkook was in the same room as you.
Taehyung had completely given up on studying and he started conversing with Jungkook. As much as Jungkook didn’t like seeing you with Taehyung, he couldn’t help but admit that Taehyung was easy to talk with. He got along well with Taehyung which made him even feel worse that he always felt bitter seeing the two of you together.
As Jungkook’s eyes watched how your face lit up whenever Taehyung talked to you, a heavy feeling washed over him. Jungkook had made his mind that he had to talk to you.
He knew he had to reach out to you before it was too late.
He just had to figure out how.
“Happy advance birthday!” You and Miya cheered, raising both your arms to invite Taehyung in for a hug. His eyes lit up with joy, stretching out his arms to pull you both in for a hug.
“Thank you!”
Namjoon chuckled, shaking his head as Taehyung shimmied his shoulders, “Happy advance birthday Tae but I’ll pass on the hug – Alright, then!” Namjoon caved, chuckling as he wrapped his arms around Taehyung, giving a pat on his back.
“Come in!” Taehyung gestured energetically, “Let me show my house.”
It was a small gathering like Taehyung mentioned. He had only invited those that he was genuinely cool with, a few from table tennis and a few from track. Taehyung, being the welcoming host, gave a house tour, explaining how his parents had book a hotel for the night to let him fully enjoy this birthday celebration.
“This is the guest room, if the party ever gets too chaotic, feel free to use it.” Taehyung opened the door, allowing you three to peek into the room.
Right after the house tour, Taehyung led the way to kitchen, where all the food and drinks were. “We just ordered more pizza so don’t be shy, let’s not waste any food!”
“Yo, Tae! How do you set up this game console?” Someone hollered from the living area. Taehyung flashed a grin, “Make yourself at home! I’ll find you all later!”
“Sure, no worries!” Miya nodded, already filling up her paper plate. Taehyung glanced at you, reaching out to pat your arm, “See you later!” He mouthed before heading off to help with the game console.
After everyone grabbed their snacks for the late, you headed to the living area to find the birthday boy placing a racing game on the console.
“Yn!” Taehyung exclaimed while his eyes glued on the TV screen, “Sit beside me! Watch me beat the record.”
You chuckled, taking a sit next to the birthday boy. Miya and Namjoon followed suit, squeezing on the couch next to you.
“Yes!” Taehyung cheered, turning to you for a high-five which you quickly returned. His bright smile never failed to make the people around him happy. Being around him always felt light and peaceful.
“Hold up!” Namjoon pointed to the coffee table, “You have Just Dance too? Let’s play a match before Hoseok comes to wreck us.”
You and Miya laughed aloud, “Were you that affected?”
“Yes, yes I was. Let’s play around! You and Tae versus Miya and I.”
Taehyung glanced at you and shrugged with a playful grin on his face, “Sure!”
Sitting a couple meters away was Jungkook, downing his first cup of the night. His eyes torturing himself as he watched you partner Taehyung for one Just Dance round. The way your eyes lit up, your mouth upturned almost to your ears.
He knew you were happy. He used to see that look all the time.
After seeing it again, he knew he wanted to be the reason that you were smiling. But all he’s done the past year was made you feel guilty. Jungkook knew he had to change things before graduation.
“You okay?” A feminine voice brought him out from his thoughts.
Jungkook winced internally, momentarily forgetting that he had bumped into a friend at the birthday party.
“Y-Yea sorry, just a bit tired.”
“We could leave the party early if you’d like? I can help us tell Taehyung.”
Jungkook sighed, glancing at his empty cup, “Yea maybe—“ He stopped midway as he looked up to see you leaving your group to head to the kitchen alone, “I”ll get us a few snacks to energise.”
He placed his empty cup on the table, not looking back at his companion as he made his way over to the kitchen.
“Yn,” Jungkook’s voice sounded behind you, “We need to talk.”
Out of all things, you had not expected to hear Jungkook’s voice calling your name that night.
“Talk? We haven’t been talking for a year.” You let your words slip as you finished the remaining alcohol in your cup before refilling it with a non-alcoholic refresher.
Jungkook wasn’t sure if it was just the alcohol talking or if it was intentional. He shrugged it off and insisted once more, “Could we talk, please?”
You sighed, nodding your head as you swirled the drink in your cup. “Alright.” Looking up from your cup, Jungkook froze a moment, he noticed the drastic change in your eyes, from how your eyes lit up when you playing Just Dance, to how hurt they looked in front of him.
“I’m shocked that you actually approached me.”
“W-What?”
“I mean seeing how you’ve managed to avoid me for the entire year since I confessed—“
“I’m sorry, I just didn’t know how to react to it.” He admitted, “I was stunned and shocked. You were my best friend and to hear those words from you left me speechless.”
“I understand it definitely shocked you and I gave you space but afterwards it just seemed like you didn’t want anything to do with me.”
Jungkook frantically shook his head, “No, no! You misunderstood, I never wanted that. I never wanted to push you away.”
“But it happened.”
He grimaced, knowing that he played a big part in driving a wedge between the two of you. “I know… And I’m really sorry.”
“Then…” You bit your lip as you contemplated your next few words, “Why have you always avoided me ever since?”
Jungkook’s shoulders slumped as he leaned against the counter. “I just didn’t know how to approach you after all this. And after awhile, you seemed to be settling down with a new group of friends and… I didn’t want to disrupt that.”
“So why’d you approach me tonight?”
Jungkook’s eyes darted to the hallway down to the living area before back to you. “I just… I just want to make things right.”
“Make things right?”
“I miss us,” He admits through a heavy breath, “I miss the times when it was you and me. I know I haven’t been the best friend you’ve needed for the past year, and I regret that. But,” Jungkook takes a deep inhale in before continuing, “But if you’re willing to give me a chance to make things right between us, I promise I won’t screw things up.”
As each word came out from his mouth, you felt a lump grow in your throat as you stopped yourself from breaking down into tears. You have been waiting so long to hear those words from Jungkook — to hear that he still wants you by your side.
“It’s been a year,” You choked, “I don’t get why is this suddenly coming up now—“
Jungkook nodded his head as he ran his hand through his hair as an attempt to calm himself down. You could his own emotions getting to him as he blinked repeatedly to stop himself from tearing up.
“After seeing you with Taehyung, it just reminded me of our times together. I never stopped looking out for you ever since. You were my best friend and the past year always felt like something’s missing.”
Just as if you were moving on to a new chapter without Jungkook in the picture, you found him trying to write himself in it.
“I hope I’m not too late, yn. I mean it when I say that I miss my best friend.”
Jungkook cautiously took a step forward towards you, “I’m not asking for an answer now, but, would you consider it?”
You collected yourself and looked him in the eye, thinking of how to phrase your response. You had almost completely given up on the thought of salvaging your friendship with Jungkook that you thought it was the alcohol making you hallucinate the conversation.
“I’ll think about it—“
“There you are! I’ve been looking for you! Here’s your new cup, got a good mix in there.” A well dressed stranger waltzed into the kitchen and approached Jungkook with a cup filled with whatever mixers Taehyung had at the party.
“Oh, hello, you are?”
“Yn.”
She flashed a smile at you, “I’m Yuna, nice to meet you! Do you know Jungkook too?”
You glanced at him with his eyes begging you not to leave as your conversation with him was unfinished.
“Sort of. Sorry, I gotta look for my friends.” You tilted your head slightly towards the two to say goodbye, promptly turning on your heels to leave the scene.
You went straight up to the guest room, closing the door behind you to mute the loud pop music blasting in the living room.
Making your way over to the guest bed, you melted into the mattress, letting out long sigh as your palms covered your face.
Jungkook’s face planted in your memory as he reached out to you for the first time in a year.
A part of you wished he didn’t do it because you were just starting to make good progress moving on from that part in your life. You hated how much of an effect his words had on you.
As much as you hated to admit it, you never wanted to remove Jungkook from your life. Despite trying to give up, you always hoped that things would change.
Now with Jungkook being the one who approached you, maybe it was the right time to make that change.
The click of the doorknob startled you, jolting yourself up to see Taehyung enter the room.
“Had a feeling you’d be here.”
“Really?”
He shook his head, “No, actually Hoseok just saw you enter the room.”
You chuckled before letting your smile falter, eyes drifting to the wooden floor.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing Tae.” You looked back up to smile at him, “It’s your birthday party. You should be out there with the rest. I just need some time away from the loud music.”
Taehyung frowned, making his way over to sit next to you.
“They can entertain themselves. You wanna talk about it?”
“I never told you what actually happened with Jungkook.”
Taehyung knew you never told him the full story. He always had a feeling the story was missing information since the day you told him. Sensing that it was a sensitive topic, he never wanted to pry further. He simply nodded his head, staying silent to let you share on your own terms.
“I confessed to him a year ago. I made things awkward between us which is why we drifted. I tried to act normal and get things back to how it was, but I just made it too uncomfortable for him.”
His heart ached as your voice cracked at the end, sniffling to stop yourself from crying. “He approached me tonight, saying that he wants to make things right. You don’t know how badly I’ve been wanting to hear him say that. And to finally hear it,” You let out a bewildered chuckle, “Feels like maybe I had too many drinks.”
Taehyung pressed his lips into a thin line. A part of him had already suspected that something awkward had happened between the two of you. Even though he loved being right, he felt awful knowing that his suspicion was right.
“Shouldn’t you be happy then?”
“I should, shouldn’t I?”
“Are you not?”
“I am… But it’s just so unbelievable.
Taehyung nodded his head, “The guest room is yours for the night to let it all sink in. That’s good news, yn. You should be happy! Show me that charming smile of yours.” He playfully nudged your sides, trying to get a laugh out of you.
You scoffed, slipping a small smile.
“There we go.” He clapped his hands together, “I’ll go get you water to hydrate and snacks so you can camp out here.”
“No, it’s your birthday party, I’ll come out—“
“My birthday wish is that you stay here and take the time you need to process whatever happened tonight. Could you grant me that?”
Taehyung gently took your hand in his, you nodded your head, “Alright, alright. Thanks Tae, I owe you one.”
“You don’t! You’re just granting my birthday wish!” He grinned before heading towards the door to prepare a special delivery for you.
Sitting alone in the guest room once again, your mind drifted back to Jungkook’s words.
Was there really a chance for both of you to return to how things were?
After that Friday night, he decided it was best to give you the weekend to think about what he said. Even though he decided to do that, he made him antsy. He knew he had to do something.
So when Jungkook spotted Miya alone at the dining hall, Jungkook had to approach Miya.
“Hey.”
Miya looked up from her food to greet the person only to then look around her surrounding, “Are you looking for Namjoon?”
“No, I’m actually looking for you.”
“Me?”
Jungkook timidly nodded his head, Miya shrugged her shoulders and gestured to the empty seat opposite her.
“Thanks… I need your help,” Jungkook fidgeted with his fingers, “I want to make up for the lost time with yn. I miss being with her.”
Miya sighed, placing her utensils down, “Jungkook… You don’t need my help for that, I’m sure yn will be more than glad to—“
“We had a… Awkward and tense conversation during Taehyung’s birthday party.”
She chuckled, “So that’s why she was acting strange after the party.”
“She was?”
Miya looked back to Jungkook and shook her head, “Nothing. But, I really don’t think I can be of any help.”
She knew how close you were and Jungkook was also one of her first friends in college, so she wanted to help. She knew how much Jungkook meant to you, even just as friends, she knew how important your friendship with Jungkook was to you.
A part of her had always hoped that she would see you and Jungkook together again. Miya watched Jungkook’s expression, sensing nothing but a genuine determination to make things right.
She shrugged her shoulders, “Alright fine, I’ll help you out.” ~~
