Toji if only he had been a good dad! All headcannons (not edited).
Y/N x Toji
Good father Toji who wakes up earlier than you and Megumi to make breakfast on Saturdays
Good father Toji who walks Megumi to school on the days you’re too busy to
Good father Toji who was the one Megumi couldn’t let go of on his first day of Kindergarten
Good father Toji who stays up late to help him with his homework
Good father Toji who cradles the two of you on nights Megumi can’t sleep alone
Good father Toji who kisses your forehead while you dress Megumi for school
Good father Toji who secretly gives Megumi candy even though you said too many sweets aren’t good for him
Good father Toji who (reluctantly) does a father son costume with Megumi on Halloween
Good father Toji who lets Megumi choose an expensive Mother’s Day Gift for you and doesn’t complain
Good father Toji who gets upset with Megumi when there’s no movie night this week
Good father Toji who then realizes he’s the dad and he can say if there’s a movie night or not
Good father Toji who accidentally let Megumi watch a slasher because he forgot Megumi is too young
Good father Toji who doesn’t handle movie night anymore
Good father Toji who takes Megumi to the gym with him on the days he doesn’t want to go to school
Good father Toji who loves the two of you very much

This one reminds me of a childhood experience of my own. My father and grandfather had several firearms, so Daddy made sure to teach me the danger inherent in weapons at an early age.
He took me to the backyard and placed a small over ripe pumpkin on a stump. He said “This is what happens when you shoot someone.” And shot it with my grandfather’s 30/30 rifle. It exploded. 🎃💥
He had hoped to scare me so I wouldn’t try playing with them, my reaction was “THAT WAS SO COOL!”🤯😱🤩
Needless to say I got lessons on gun responsibility instead lol!

Dear Father
more than being a dad
he's always been a great father
putting his wife and children
first before any personal
desires, wants or needs
such a giving, caring man
humble and loyal
a torch barer of honesty and integrity
a hard worker of hands and heart;
daddy was passionate
about reading and cooking, church and god
he loved life and his family
and we're all the greater
because of his almighty love
for me, for us, for all - for living
because he paved the way
for who we've been blessed
to become, today
his eternal light and love
remains, and will always stay
everywhere - beside, inside,
where his spirit - does reside;
happy, heavenly remembrance
day, dear father
your love . . . is our love
. . . is my love
for you

There is a cute small child next to me on the subway who clearly has a special interest in emergency alarm sounds. And his dad is being very sweet and patient with him, answering his questions, explaining what different things mean or how they work. Exactly as he should do. And it is so incredibly cute. But it also means this child is just repeatedly playing different smoke detector sounds, fire alarms, tornado warnings, truck backing up and drawbridge coming down alarms, and evacuation alerts on his phone. Without headphones so he can have his dad hear them too and answer his questions. And I would like to hurl the damned thing across the subway car (phone not child) cause my noise cancelling headphones were not built to withstand this. But also I love seeing a kid being supported and engaged with on his terms about his interests. So like 😍🤬🙇🏼🙉💖

Someone give this man a medal. He gets it.
I loathe the overprotective father trope. He explained why so well.

Father's Day
I feel like today doesn't get talked about much for a lot of people. I don't know if it's because of a general lack of societal expectation for dads, or because we've all quietly agreed that we don't want to talk about it. But today I wanted to mention it.
As a fairly new father (4 years in) it has been challenging to now see things from a parents perspective, and realize just how much love and compassion and work it takes to be a good father. And now getting to experience it first hand, realize just how much of what you got as a child was not enough. Was lacking. Was actively bad parenting. Was maybe even abuse.
And now that I am here, there is so much to unlearn so that we can fix the generational cycle of crap we were handed down. But we can do it, together. I know I can do better, and that I must do better. And I will.
So to all the other fathers out there trying to raise their children with as much love and compassion and understanding and joy that you can:
I see you. You can do this. We can do this.
With love 💜

Happy Father's Day to all the men out there that work so hard and so often go unnoticed yet show up anyway.
Thank you for staying on course, finding what it takes or making up the difference when it's needed.
Keep being the type of men that others wish they were or hope they will become.
Thanks for showing what real manhood does in a culture that's fixated on image, plumage and illusions, for being the wolf and the beaver instead of the peacock.
Thank you for those who live fathering life among the fatherless, forgotten, abandoned and neglected. The eternal Father shines through you.
Thanks to all the single Dads who do everything, everyday for almost everyone. You are the steel in the backbone of a life trying to break you.
Thank you to the Fathers who know that tenderness, kindness and gentleness are masculine traits too.
Props to all the men who live with the strain, chain or pain, bound by duty, often postponing desire, the unseen faithful.
Thank you for being authentic men, not angels or devils.
Thanks to men who do all to stand, and stand therefore in faith, marriage, home life, values, parenting and keep their own souls alive.
I honor the men who've blazed trails, dreamed dreams or carved out a meaningful life from the cold, hard granite of fears or failures, obstacles, or defeats, dead ends or unforeseen devastations.
Respect to the men who fight or have fought for our safety, security and prosperity. Your sacrifices, distances, damages, sufferings and victories are only fully seen by history and eternity.
Thank you men who have loved when life was ugly, been faithful in the face of betrayal, stood strong when you've been stabbed in the back or silently had your hearts suffocated. You've been models of resurrection.
Honor to the wildmen in the midst of all the overly domesticated, dominated or destroyed ones who've given up or given in to a lesser life or their lower natures.
Thank you to the men who've shown what a true lover looks like, the master pianists who've played beautiful music from a one woman life.
Today we celebrate you men in a culture that's losing sight of the truth, reality and responsibilities of authentic manhood.
Fathers, you are our everyday heroes and we respect you, love you, pray for you, bless you and hope to create lives that honor your impact, influence and investment in our lives.
Happy Father's Day.
