first post here 🤪
jongerry wip
i’ll probably post on ao3 once i’ve got more written.
There’s something wrong.
They can tell as soon as they wake up.
The blanket over them is too thick, thicker than any that they own and musty with disuse. They open their eyes slowly, taking stock of their surroundings. There is a coffee table in front of them. (Are they on a couch?) The table is clean, except for several stains, tea maybe? Or coffee? Their eyes flick up and they jump back, shoving into the back of the couch.
“AHhhh” Whoever is in front of them also jumps back a bit, tripping on the coffee table, and stumbling to catch his balance. “Ah, um, sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you. I-I’m Jon.”
“Right, and where am I?”
“Uh, the breakroom? The Archives breakroom? In the Magnus Institute, that is. I, uh, I was leaving for the day, and I saw you in here?” Right- Gerry remembers, now. Gertrude had them hunting down a Leitner. Except it hadn’t just been a Leitner, whoever came across it had it for too long, and had fully Become by then. It was so far gone that it’d begun growing patchy fur, and its ears were sharp. Gerry’d spent hours running through London, weaving through alleyways until they'd finally gotten a jump on it. Gertrude demanded an update, and as soon as they finished, they crashed on the break room couch.
“And who are you?”
“Right, Gerard, they/them for now. I… freelance, for Gertrude.” Gerry popped their neck, and watched Jon. Instead of the usual confusion that they’d come to expect from the stuffy academic types that seemed drawn to the Magnus Institute, Jon just nodded and stuck out his hand.
“Jonathan Sims, he/they. Just call me Jon, though.” Gerry smirked in amusement.
“Well Jon, nice to meet you, but I doubt I’ll be seeing you with enough frequency to call you anything.” Jon sputters a bit, and grows red in the face (In a way that is totally not cute, shut up brain) and occurs to Gerry that maybe that was a bit rude. “Sorry, I didn’t mean anything by that. I just don't tend to stick around the Institute longer than I have to.”
Jon just raises an eyebrow and looks at Gerry's current tangled-in-a-blanket state. Now it’s Gerry’s turn to blush.
“Well, usually. In my defense, it’s been a long bloody day, and I needed to crash.” Jon looks curious at that, but decides not to ask. A wise decision- Jon would get no answers from them. “Anyway, I better be off.”
Gerry gets up and pulls on their jacket, but pauses when they see the clock.
“Wait, why are you just leaving? It’s like 7:00? And what are you doing in the archives? Nobody ever really comes down here.”
“You’re down here.” Ah so Jon’s a prickly one. Gerry just gives him a Look, and Jon blushes again.
“Mr. Bouchard told me that I’m transferring to the Archives tomorrow, as an assistant. And that was at 5:00, and then I tried to finish up my work so no one in research would be stuck with what I didn’t get done. Then I was about to leave and realized I should probably go meet my new boss… So then I came down here and Gertrude just glared at me a bit before stomping off upstairs. I waited around for a bit, because I thought it might be rude if she came back down like only a few minutes later and I was already gone? But it doesn’t seem like she’s coming back anytime soon. And then I, ah saw you in here? And I didn’t think anybody else was down here, um, ever? So I just came in to look, and now we’re… here?”
Okay, so the rambling is a bit cute, and Gerry has half a mind to be amused, but there are more pressing concerns.
“Sorry, did you just say you’re going to be an archival assistant?”
“Um, yes?”
“Have you signed any papers yet?” Gerry’s properly concerned now, and Jon seems to be getting agitated.
“Yes? I signed the transfer papers?”
“Damn, Gertrude’s not going to be happy with that.”
“Excuse you, what’s that supposed to mean?”
“Oh Gertrude has been absolutely refusing to get new assistants for years. I would have thought Elias would have wanted to avoid pissing her off. No wonder she hasn’t been back yet. She’s probably ripping him a new one” Jon visibly bristles.
“Well excuse me, but I hardly see how having an assistant would be a bad thing. I mean, if the state of this place is anything to go by, then she certainly needs one.”
“Oh try telling her that. Or don’t,” Gerry gives a cynical snort, “she’s going to be right pissed no matter what anyone says.”
“Whatever,” Jon scoffs, “Too late now. She’ll either have to deal with me or take it up with Mr. Bouchard.”
“Oh I imagine she is.”
It isn’t until Jon is storming away, and stomping up the stairs that Gerry realizes that they were probably being rude.
“Well Shit”

This is not even a formed thought but I really love how they did Beelzebub’s gender presentation in good omens, like they use they/them and I think (?) he/him at one point, they present with both feminine and androgynous characteristics, and also use masculine titles (lord, baron). Even the fact that the casting changed and Beelzebub simply says they decided to change up their face. And the person who falls in love with them is Gabriel, the biggest stick up his ass heaven purist possible. And in embracing Beelzebub’s queerness and loving them, he is set free

So I may be now thinking about Cassius Clay joining Damian’s Teen Titans (DC you have the characters, stop regressing ages, its just creepy/cringe). He would probably be around Damian’s age. Just imagining him being able to break out of the testing facility and going a lil’ crazy, because justified, and Batman and Robin stop this Clayface who they assume is an adult based on his size at first but Bruce realizes he is either a child or has a developmental (issue(?) I’m not sure the proper word here sorry) and once they get him to stop rampaging and Bruce finds out he’s been in a testing facility, has a foundation to stop the facility doing that. He asks if he has any parents and finds out CFIV is in Arkham and CFV is at STAR Labs so he has him put up and says he’ll have people come to check in on him (not a good idea to have him come to the BatCave if his parents escape). Jason and Cass tend to be the ones to drop by and Jason helps teach him to read and Cass teaches him some basic martial arts in case. Bruce comes by when he can as Batman as does Damian, all of them always in disguise, they don’t know he has his mother’s minor telepathic powers. Bruce eventually asks why he doesn’t take on a human form to blend in better and he eventually does to transform to go to school, Gotham’s private schools ofc. He eventually meets Billy, Tai and Jon and he ends up morphing his form a bit closer to Jon and Damian asks why and Cassius says he thinks he looks the most “American boy” and one girls would like more, ticking off the other boys. He does occasionally turn into a female form and when he gets asked why he just says it feels right, but he only goes to school as a boy to hide his powers.

Jon Stewart and the Gender "Binary"
youtube
I just realized that I don't have this video on my blog. His gender spectrum, as described by conservatives, lives in my head rent free (as do the historical definition of "a woman")
Transcript:
1:01 Jon Stewart: The point is clear. The human race is defined by a simple binary, a black and white understanding. There are men. And there are women. And never the twain shall meet. Steve Forbes (I think): Trump is an alpha male.
JS: Well, okay. Yes. There are obviously men who are MORE man than other men, but that's an aberration. Lou Dobbs: Beta. Gamma …
JS: Okay. There's an entire Greek alphabet, a continuum of masculinity. But that doesn't mean … Gavin McInnes: Cuck. Laura Ingraham: Pajama boy. ???: Soy boy. Arnold Schwarzenegger: Girly man.
JS: I hope the children are out of the room. Clearly, masculinity appears to be on a dimmer, not an on-off switch.
But ladies are different. LI: I was a big tomboy. ???: These purple-haired, angry freaks… Candace Owens: Rabid feminists. ???: Cat lady. Jeanine Pirro: High-rolling bimbos. ???: Pretty girly girl.
JS: My God. What a cruise line buffet of the gradients in American gender expression. Turns out there's a lot of non-binary shit happening between the binaries. But that hasn't stopped the traditionalists from deploying their newest weapon in the Culture War arsenal. The obvious “gotcha” question.
Matt Walsh: Real basic question. What is a woman? Senator Marsha Blackburn: Can you provide a definition for the word 'woman'? Senator Ted Cruz: For all of recorded history, people have known what a woman is!
JS: Yes! All of recorded history! It was simple! Until like a year ago! The answer to "what is a woman?" has always been the same! It's, uh …
"A woman is a deformity that occurred in the ordinary course of nature." I'm sorry. That's- That's Aristotle. I apologize. That's- I'm sorry. That's not what I meant.
I meant, "A woman is a person who has no legal existence once married." That's- I'm sorry. That's- That's early American Coverture Law. That's- That's not right. No. Throughout history, it's not a "gotcha" question!
"A woman is thirty shekels." That's… I’m sorry. I'm sorry. That's Leviticus.
"Unless she's whorish, then a woman is a loaf of bread." That's Proverbs.

thoughts about jon, gender, n hair
aka i've literally wanted to write a fic centered around this concept for like over two years but. well. anyway. i still might write the fic at some point but lord knows when that'll happen so in the meantime here are my jon jarchivist headcanons centered around hair and gender, ft. my personal flavor of jon: persian, w/ a white grandmother, n amab nonbinary transneutral/transfemme
⁃ jon's hair was always kept short as a kid. short hair was for boys, his grandmother had said, and besides, she didn't have the desire nor energy to learn how to care for his thick persian curls; the shorter they were, the less tangled and unruly, the better.
⁃ jon explored some more fem/gnc presentation in college, some of which included growing out his hair. he attributed it back then more to just the fact that he was exploring his queerness (in a bi and ace sense) in general & that he spent a lot of time around georgie (also transfemme), and didn't really think about the actual gender accompanying it -- he wasn't actively thinking much about his own gender. questioning and coming to terms with his sexuality was already a lot.
⁃ but he liked the way his hair looked and felt long. he liked the quiet rebellion of it. he liked the way georgie ran her fingers through it. he liked how many different ways it could be worn long -- in ponytails and buns and braids and just loose down his back. he doesn't remember much of his mom, but he's seen in pictures her long, dark, curly hair, just like his now, and he likes the reminder.
⁃ he keeps it long after college, though upon getting hired as a researcher at the magnus institute, he has a bit of a crisis over whether or not to cut it, re: standards of white cishetero "professionalism" and decorum and masculinity, all of which he's doing his best to perform. maybe even early on in his research days he cuts it a bit and decides it makes him feel so bad (for some inexplicable reason) that he decides to just leave it long, though tidy and brushed and straightened and pulled high up into a tight bun so it looks neat and out of the way and functionally short anyway.
⁃ similar thing happens when he gets promoted to archivist. i personally like him deciding not to cut it here because i like him being allowed to keep one (1) thing, though i def understand other hc's where he does cut it short for S1 / being the archivist. he's still very much keeping it pulled up in a tight bun and out of the way, and removes anything else remotely feminine about his appearance -- earrings, more fem clothing, nailpolish, etc.
⁃ i read mossy's @coulson-is-an-avenger "shopping for gender in a british wal-mart" fic like 2.5 years ago and i still love it so much and it's still canon to me basically re: he tries a skirt Once to work at the sort of peak sweet point where he's settled in enough to feel comfortable trying to wear a skirt but not yet paranoid enough about Prentiss. sasha talks w him about gender and femininity and stuff, though he's not quite ready to confront it yet.
⁃ then prentiss/season 2 hits and he regresses again hard into self-defense mode; the performative masculinity goes Harder. his hair is still long but it's messy; thick curls and flyaway strands frizzing about his sleep deprived and paranoid face.
⁃ by the time s3 rolls around, everything else in his life has gone to shit, so mostly he's just like "fuck it" re: his presentation in general, including his gender presentation. there's also a sense of just.. "this it the one thing in my life I have control over," so he sort of starts just wearing whatever. even if he's not really acknowledging the actual gender feelings to himself. but his hair and his clothes are One thing he can control about himself, one thing the watcher can't really take away from him. so with s3-s4 it's like. yeah he feels like he's becoming less and less human and yeah he's being kidnapped once a month and yeah the world is going to end but at least he can wear a goddamn skirt.
⁃ i do think there's also an element of it too where, there's obvious anxiety and concern about him being a visibly brown and trans/gnc person in fucking London of all places, but as time goes on i do think there's a bit of like. even if i face violence for this what does it matter. i hardly leave the archives anyways, and even then, would that really be anything? in the face of everything else that's happened?
⁃ in the safehouse jon and martin (who to me is a trans man btw) talk about gender a bunch and Jon realizes they want to try using both he and they pronouns and maybe jon decides they want to do some more feminine things, want to try wearing skirts and maybe painting their nails again and martin braids flowers into their hair and things are good
⁃ and then season 5 and the apocalypse hits.
⁃ for the first little while in the safehouse jon's hair is still long. but before they leave, he cuts it, for several reasons -- first like, if keeping it long and presenting femininely was partially about control for Jon, this is them letting Go of that, of what he perceives to have just been an Illusion control. yeah it might make them a bit dysphoric but so what, my body was never mine tobegin with.
⁃ and i think he's also doing it as a mental preparation for leaving the cabin, after jon and martin have had the initial talk about eventually leaving. long hair is a liability; hair can get pulled on and tugged on when being kidnapped and grabbed at; hair can be drenched in shampoo and twisted by plastic hands; hair can be tangled and snag on the walls of a coffin; it can be full of dirt days and days later; hair is a hassle and a hazard and an illusion of control and above all it was a comfort to jon and this is no longer a world where you can trust comfort, martin.
⁃ martin walks in on jon in the bathroom staring at themself in the mirror with a pair of scissors. they ask martin to cut it for them. (martin gets a haircut too, in a show at solidarity and some levity. also undercut martin rights)
⁃ anyway, Somewhere Else Jon wears flowy dresses and grows his hair long and leaves lipstick stains on martin's face when they kiss and hikes his skirts up above his knees when they work in the garden and their hair is long and dark and thick and curly and he likes it; likes the way it looks and feels, the way martin runs his fingers through it, the way it reminds him of his mother and the way it makes him smile at the person they see standing in the mirror.
⁃ and it's good. it's really good.

Willow 2022 In Memoriam (for now)
Willow 2022 is no longer available for legal viewing in any format, anywhere. We hope it will be resurrected at some point, somehow, but TPTB at Disney have given us no concrete reason or timeline to expect its return. (Jon Kasdan, the show runner, has tweeted cryptic messages but is not in a position to make key decisions, nor to share details.)
First and foremost, I grieve for kids who now will not have the chance to stumble upon this wonderful show with a diverse/queer cast on a platform with the reach of Disney+. I can’t express in words how much I appreciated being able to watch this show with my enby 11-yo kid. Of course I also regret losing the opportunity to build the fandom over time with new viewers, as the Princess Bride did after a lackluster box-office opening in 1987, and I feel so angry on behalf of the creatives who poured their efforts and craft into this project. But I grieve even more the potentially life-saving representation that young people might have benefited from, and I fear for the chilling effect Disney’s decision might have on greenlighting queer/diverse projects aimed at younger audiences in the foreseeable future.
On a personal note: Actor Erin Kellyman has mentioned in interviews that playing the role of Jade Claymore helped her work on childhood issues, and I feel similarly about what watching the show has done for me. I was raised in central Kansas in the 1970s and 80s, a gender-non-normative “tomboy” lacking any mainstream queer representation. I don’t recall even learning the words “gay” and “lesbian” in the queer context until high school, and of course when I did, they were corrupted by ridicule and shame. Fortunately, I had a very strong sense of self and managed to survive and to thrive as a lesbian as soon as I went elsewhere for college.
I grew up as a fan of all the Lucasfilm franchises (including the original movie Willow, released in 1988). While I identified with both Leia and Han to a degree (and shipped them), something always felt off. There was something lacking in that magical Lucasfilm world. It was not just overt queer and diverse representation; it’s also the case, for example, that the entire original Star Wars trilogy does not pass the Bechdel-Wallace test. The original Indiana Jones trilogy barely does. (Criteria: there must be at least two named women who talk to each another about something besides a man.) Willow 1988 is the rare exception in early Lucasfilm that satisfies the Bechdel-Wallace test without our having to squint. As a fan of the original Willow, I found that Willow 2022 matched its spirit brilliantly and expanded its potential in such interesting directions.
I can’t begin to say how much it would have meant to me growing up to have had Willow 2022 within the Lucasfilm universe, for all these reasons. I really believe that a series like this would have changed the whole trajectory of my life - I am turning 50 soon - even when I count myself so very lucky to have had a supportive family and a strong sense of self. I am grateful that the first season of Willow 2022 exists at all, and it truly has propelled me to do a lot of important healing work around the childhood trauma of growing up queer at a time and place that was totally lacking in positive mainstream representation.
But it’s not enough: Willow 2022 should be made available for legal viewing in some form as soon as possible to keep saving lives and changing lives for the better.

a tuppence for your bi4bi Clois thoughts 🪙... I'm luv them so much and I'd love to hear if you have any specific headcanons about them 🥺
YESSSS!!! i DO have some thoughts. i love them,
generally i think lois has her bisexuality figured out by the time she's in her mid-20s. she and cat grant have had some rage-filled makeouts on at least one occasion, but an actual relationship would never in a million years work out between them. they respect each other but do not see eye to eye nearly enough. she never bothered to come out to her father, but just knows it's one more thing about her that he'd hate.
clark, by contrast, does Not have it figured out. he has spent his entire life repressing every single thought, feeling, and ability that set him apart from the classic good all-american boy because he had to fit in. and being superman, exploring his kryptonian heritage, etc., has helped, of course, but he is still. so repressed. he has no idea that he's ever experienced attraction to guys before. he's got some internalized homophobia to work through, about himself. He Has To Be Normal. so as far as he's concerned, there was lana, and then there was lois.
to me, clark's journey toward self-acceptance is very intrinsically tied to his family. there's kara, talking about how sexuality and gender stuff on krypton wasn't like it is on earth, especially in western culture. there's kon, suffering through his own repression and depression and trying to pretend he's fine. there's chris and jon, both too young to fully grasp it all (probably), who make clark incredibly aware of every step he makes in terms of parenting them.
so one day, after kon's finally come out to the family, and kara's muddled through trying to figure out earth labels that she's comfortable with, the two of them decide they wanna go to pride, and ask lois and clark if they want to make it a family affair. lois says hell yeah, and clark says yes of course he's happy to support them! and jon says YAY, GLITTER!! CAN I GET STICKERS? and chris says if you get glitter all over my nintendo ds again i will punt you into the ocean, baby brother or not.
and there's just this innocuous moment while they're out when kon goes "here i got you these!" and hands lois and clark two simple lil heart-shaped bi flag buttons. and lois is like aw thanks squirt! and ruffles kon's hair. clark meanwhile goes oh i think there's been a misunderstanding... ... . . . .. . .. .. . or. has there?
and that night he's just sitting on the edge of the bed holding this tiny like $3 button in his hands having a whole crisis. lois hooks her chin over his shoulder and asks what's wrong? and he's like. lois i'm not. i'm. except maybe i'm not not. but i don't know, i thought i... i never thought i could think about it. clark kent is supposed to be normal. i... i'm already an alien, lois, i thought i was already set apart enough, and if i'm... if i'm this, even when i'm clark, not superman, then... then...
and lois digs her matching little $3 bi flag heart button out of her purse and bumps it against his and says, even if you are queer, you're still not alone. and then clark gives her the patented kent family big soft puppy-dog eyes. that night, he falls asleep in her arms with his head tucked snugly under her chin. it's where he feels safest.
but the next year, he lets kara get him a flag, and lets kon tie it around his shoulders like a cape. and he's here as clark kent, but it's kind of funny when he looks at his shadow. because he might not be superman right now, but the silhouette still looks the same.

Please talk about Jon's gender please please please
Sure!
Jon's relationship with gender is...complicated. He's been fine being seen as cis his entire life, but sometimes the things that Jervis or Ed (or any of the other queer rogues) talk about feel uncomfortably familiar. But like a lot of experiences with gender, even approaching the topic feels too confusing to bother with, especially for him
The whole purpose of the Scarecrow (besides appealing to Jon's own issues) is to reveal the true nature of people through fear, so by all means he knows it's a little hypocritical for the Scarecrow to not be true to itself. But he's only barely come to terms with his sexuality, gender is something that he has decided he's not going to touch with a ten foot pole
He's too busy to bother with all of that anyway - there's fear toxin to perfect, don't 'cha know? Now get out of his lab !!

AITA (M, 20) for not supporting my best friend and roommate's (M, 21) new relationship?
-> Day 3: Fake Dating. I know that robin is a lesbian okay
I and my best friend have known each other since forever. Our relationship had a bit of a rocky start (he used to bully me, then he started dating this girl (20, F), then I punched him in the face, me and his girlfriend started getting closer and we ended up kinda cheating while on a roadtrip together (though their relationship was already falling apart anyway), she broke up with him and we got together, the three of us spent lots of time together because we had no one else, and a whole bunch of more stuff. But we worked through it.)
We both were raised in a small conservative town - which, as two bi people, was not exactly fun. He didn't even know that you could like more than one gender, and I denied this part of myself for the longest time due to being in a m/f relationship.
My (or I guess our?) ex is super smart and got into a great university far away. The plan had been for me to go with her, but I was rejected and also didn't want to live so far away from my siblings (M, 16 & F, 15). So me, my best friend, and his other best friend (F, 19) moved in together to go to another uni. Well my best friend started dating his other best friend. Like, they already used to be extremely close, but now they are touching ALL THE TIME. And she keeps whispering stuff into his ear. And they only have eyes for each other. And are all giggly the whole time. And I feel...bad. I really though I was over the internalized biphobia. Just because he is in a m/f relationship doesn't mean he is any less queer or betraying me or anything. And now I feel doubly bad because even though I know that, it doesn't stop me from feeling this way. It is just a really fucking bad situation overall. Can anyone please help me?
nosyb!tch
Can you please elaborate on the whole ex-girlfriend thing?? Wtf??!?!

I don't think that that particular aspect is needed to better understand my current situation. Although I must commend you for your rather accurate username.

Hey. Not to be that guy. But like....did you ever consider that maybe there is another reason why you may be upset about your bf being in a relationship?

No.

omg u/greathairington u/greathairington u/greathairington I TOLD YOU IT WOULD FUCKING WORK GAY FANFICTION HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN
greathairington
what the fuck jon robin is literally a lesbian?!?!?!
photojraphy
what.
UPDATE: My best friend (now boyfriend!!) (M, 21) and HIS best friend (F, 19) were faking a relatonship. As it turns out, he had been into me the whole time and was by now desperate enough to agree when she had the grandiose idea to pretend to be together in order to make me jealous. This is the reason I never caught them kissing: she is a lesbian. I can't believe I didn't know that. I can't believe it actually worked. I can't believe that me punching him in the face was his bi awakening. At least this whole thing had a happy ending. I will now bury myself into a hole.

DC character headcanons, cuz why not.
Tumblr media
I’m really bored in class, and I said forever ago I might do this. So, here’s DC characters and my hcs for them (ethnicity, gender, sexuality, etc).
Bruce Wayne: Half-Jewish (mothers’ side, see Kane family). Pansexual. He/Him.
Dick Grayson: Romani. Bisexual. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them.
Jason Todd: Hispanic from his mother’s side (Sheila and Catherine). Unlabeled, but dates any gender. He/They.
Tim Drake: Wasian, Chinese from his mother’s side. Bisexual, leans towards men. He/They.
Duke Thomas: Half African American, Half whatever his dad (Gnomon) is. Demi bisexual. He/Him.
Damian Wayne: Jewish and Caucasian from Bruce’s side, Mixed Arabic and Chinese from Talia. Unlabeled, just likes whoever. He/Him.
Clark Kent: Kryptonian, though raised American. Bisexual. He/They/Ze. Though is open to most masculine or genderless pronouns, as krypton has a different expression of gender (this is a headcanon of mine)
Conner Kent/Kon-El: Kryptonian from Clark, has some German and American from Luthor. Homosexual. Genderfluid. He/Him or any masculine or genderless pronouns.
Jonathan “Jon” Kent: Kryptonian from Clark, some Latino and Caucasian from Lois. Unlabeled, just likes whoever. He/They.
Barry Allen: Might be Jewish (has described himself as an attractive Jewish boy). Bisexual. He/Him.
Wally West: Caucasian, American. Pansexual. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them.
Bart Allen: Caucasian, American. Omnisexual, but leaning towards men. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them or Xe/Xem.
Hal Jordan: Half-Jewish (mothers’ side) though raised catholic (fathers’ side). Unlabeled, just likes whoever. He/They/Xe, is fine with any masculine or genderless pronouns, as many alien languages don’t have multiple pronouns.
Guy Gardner: Caucasian American for the most part, but is a descendant of the space-traveling Vuldarians, so he’s part Alien. Queer. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them or many other pronouns used by alien species.
Oliver Queen: Caucasian, American. Pansexual. He/Him but is fine with They/Them.
Roy Harper: Caucasian, but adopted by and raised Navajo. Unlabeled, just likes whoever he likes. He/Him.
Michael Jon Carter (Booster Gold): Half-Jewish, through his Levin ancestors. (Confirmed by Jeff Katz). Omnisexual. Genderqueer. He/She/They, any pronouns, though used He/Him for the most part since its easier for others.
Ted Kord (Blue Beetle): Might be Jewish (Again from Jeff Katz). Demi Bisexual. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them.

More thinking about the Jonder (Jon Gender). I imagine Jon discovering it/its pronouns and just being Drawn to them. Jon meets somebody who goes by it/its and can’t stop thinking about it (pun intented) but can never work up the courage to admit it even to themselves so they use they/them in their head or with close friends (read: Georgie) and he/him everywhere else. By the time Jon is ready to use it/its for itself it’s already at the Magnus Institute, a place where they feel a constant need to come off as Professionally As Possible and nobody ELSE is using Neopronouns (for the same reasons as Jon, although it doesn’t know that) and is it even safe to be out as any shade of queer at all so it continues with business as usual pronoun-wise. And then it discovers that it’s turning into an eldritch inhuman monster and its gender feelings get 5000% more complicated.
