that boy is so trans ohmygod. his ass is liks 6' feet tall and the big structure of his body always helped him with passing. he came a long way from being an insecure fat girl in middle/high school to making peace with his feminity amd embracing his uniqueness by repircing his ears (he had let them heal when he tried to reject everything ever remotely "girly" at 16) and later having tunnels, getting a septum, and finally wearing whatever he liked regardless of the size of his body.

it also fits perfectly into the canonical troubled relationship he had with his mother. of course she wouldnt accept her child was transgender when she already thought of him as lacking. she somewhat made peace with it, but even when martin was an adult and visited her in the hospital, whenever there was even a small sign of acne on his face, or if she decided that her child's voice sounded especially low today, she would make a mean remark about all the terrible effects of testosterone that foreved scarred her beautiful daughter. martin couldnt complain much. his mother was sick, he wouldnt make a scene in a hospital, goddamit! she didnt hate him, she just didnt understand. thats all.

and so it was a bit of a relief when she died, however guilty it made him feel that.

martin would obviously encourage jon when he tried wearing skirts, he even said they could wear matching ones! he loved doing makeup with sasha, painting nails with tim.

that man is the most trasgenderest man to ever transgender and you cant convince me otherwise.

Hey fucked up trans Martin thought, before he started transitioning his mom could delude herself into thinking that he looked like her, and was a little better at accepting his help and being around him, but once he started cutting his hair short, inexplicably in the same exact style as his father’s was, she couldn’t deny that he looked just like his father, and then when he started hrt, he even sounded like him. The act of being able to delude herself into thinking he looked like her let her pretend that she was taking care of herself, and then that fantasy crumbled and left behind the face that looked so much like the one that broke her.
