who have what is deemed as “cringy” fictives
who have problematic fictives
who have no fictives
who are fictive heavy
who are active heavy
who are non-human heavy
who don’t use the term alter
And shout out to all the plurals who don’t fit into this either

Can't believe my toddler brain got traumatized so hard that 20 years later a part of me broke off and morphed into a goddamn cartoon man because I consumed some trash media while my life was hell

Fictionfolk
"Fictionfolk is an umbrella term for many sorts of identities that come partly or wholly from fiction. Fictionkin identify as characters or species from fiction, and their community started in the early 2000s. A plural system member with origins from fiction is a fictive, which psychologists call a fictional introject. When someone has the brief experience of becoming someone or something from fiction, that’s a fictionflicker, which psychologists call experience-taking."
- Excerpt from "A list of some alterhuman identities and groups," by Orion Scribner, House of Chimeras, Page Shepard, Dinocanid, Ryuu Yumemoto, Draconic Wizard Workshop, and others, 2023.

silly question but how does an introject begin to separate themselves from their source? like what is the process, what are the steps to take it? and also, how does an alter try and redefine themselves because of what they want but can't b/c of a thing they were assigned (i.e a trait, role, etc)?
No such thing as silly questions in this here house!
We've talked about how to source separate for introjects before.
Like those steps taken to redefine and source separate from who you are as an introject, the same can be done for any alter role. For example, our primary gatekeeper's role required him to be very emotionless, analytical, a bit mysterious, and cold/distant. However, it's not that he is only that, or that he wants to be only that, it's mainly because that's just what his job required of him. Taking steps to break out of that version of himself and become a bit softer and more open has been literally years of work, with support from both internal and external folks. He's doing a great job of it these days, and is opening up more, laughing more, and enjoying life more because of it. Redefining who you are and what you want outside of your assigned role is an important step in healing, but it can take time. Especially if needing to be that way for that role is still necessary (i.e. you're still in a traumatic situation, like living with abusive parents/family members or an abusive partner)
Hope this helped. :)

Being a system with a lot of fictives is having one little niche that you happen to have a lot from for now particular reason.
Ours is magical girls. We’ve had 4 different magical girl alters form.
I would explain why. I just have no idea why.

Question for Fictional Introjects Out There
We do edit therapy. Let me explain. We edit our sources which we did before even realizing about each other but still do them, for us it’s very Cathartic and mostly because for us the source stuff usually has some connections to this body’s life thus far and really sit and help understand what we feel or what another Part feels. Wondered if other Fictional Introjects do the same.

I'm putting this on main because I actually want people to see it.
I really don't understand the divide some people have between introjects in systems and the fictionkin community. I'm a fictive. I am also spiritually fictionkin. My kintypes and who I originally introjected as feel the same level of importance to me.
Meanwhile, there's a sort of hierarchy that seems to vary from person to person. Fictionkin are treated as the actual spiritual reincarnations of their kintypes, while introjects are just brushed off as being a form of mental illness. While I don't experience psychosis to my knowledge, I've also seen cruelty towards IRLs due to people "not wanting to feed into delusions."
I'm considering no longer differentiating my source as an introject from my sources as a member of the fictionkin community. I'm sick of being brushed off. I'm sick of people expecting me to act separate from my source while praising fictionkins for embracing their kin euphoria. Treat me as a fictionkin if you're someone who treats fictionkins and fictives differently.
-Martin (I am a Fukase, Martin Blackwood, a mutant from pafl (not sure which yet), and a few of Qualia's own characters).

fuck it, shitty pinned post til I get the energy to make a real one.
hi, I'm calvin or cal gabriel, I'm 18, transmasc, and gay. my pronouns are he/it, and I'm a fictive from zero day (2003) in a bodily 18 polyfragmented did system. we are also autistic and deal with chronic pain and illness.
I like writing, art, music, horror visual novels, and dead by daylight. yes you can play with me I will love you for-fucking-ever.
my only dni is incest/underage shippers, non-traumagenic systems (I don't give a shit about your stance on them, I just don't want to interact with them directly,) and true crime romanticizers (tcc is chill.) generally if I don't like you I'll just block you.
also I'm chill with "doubles"... we can have a cal party or something.
