Bedrock Headcannons: Commander Cody
Bedrock headcannons are headcannons that I regard as a fact in the personality of a character I write about. They range from small details to a huge part of a character's backstory. These headcannons are a constant underlayer in all of my fics that involve these characters.
﹄『❝ Cody ❞』﹃
Cody didn't fight in the first Battle of Geonosis because his gunship was shot down before it reached the arena. He was the only surviver.
This is also how Cody got his scar.
Cody and Obi-Wan met briefly at a clone medical center. Cody had been there because of his scar and he kept getting out of bed because he had to go check on his brothers. Obi-Wan was there for a similar reason, he was checking in and meeting all the soldiers. Cody was stumbling in the hall, his wound had opened again, and was trying to make it back to his room before he fell, but he did fall, he fell right into Obi-Wan's arms. Now Cody was too delirious to remember his name, but he's had a crush on Obi-Wan since day fucking one.
Cody's heart almost stopped when, weeks later, he was called to the Chancellor's office for assignment and the man who he thought was a dream- no, who he thought had been an angel of his delirium, came walking in, with his golden smile and his kyanite eyes. Cody couldn't believe he was real, and that he was Cody's general.
Cody got in touch with Rex immediately following the battle and Rex was blabbing on about this senator he rescued who came to visit him and brought him the prettiest flowers ever (Rex's words). Cody was with Obi-Wan when Anakin was saying he'd have a battalion soon, he was jealous Obi-Wan already had his, and he got onto talking about Rex. Now, Anakin didn't say Rex, but he did say Padme, and Cody, Cody had never once inturrupted a superior, but he couldn't stand there and let the opportunity to be in twin battalions with his brother pass him by; It was Cody who told Anakin who Rex was and that he was the clone that had been with Padme.
Cody does not take any shit from Anakin. He spends so much with Obi-Wan he feels like he raised Anakin too. So if they're ever together, Cody tends to mimic Obi-Wan's composure but in the way that Anakin feels like he's 15 again getting scolded for some stupid prank when in reality he's just explaining a battle plan. Cody makes Anakin nervous and he can't figure it out.
Cody's love language is quality time
He doesn't like to be around people when he's mourning, usually his brothers stay close after a tough battle and remember their fallen brothers. But Cody can't, he sees the faces of his brothers and he feels like such a failure. He's a Marshal Commander but that doesn't mean shit. He's the most qualified person out on the battlefield, but he still can't keep his brothers alive and he can't save them from this war.
As a cadet, CC-2224 was very problematic and increasingly troubled. He started fights with whoever over anything and if he wasn't yelling, he was crying. He would cry for hours and there wasn't anyone who could calm down the young cadet. Anyone except Alpha-17. Which is why CC-2224 trusted Alpha, who woke him up in the night and took him down to the medbay, who picked up the young boy and placed him in the doctor chair and put on a soldier helmet. It was only Alpha-17 CC-2224 trusted enough to be betrayed. When he woke up, his name was Cody and he never cried or yelled, he didn't scream or start a fight, Cody was the perfect cadet after that night.

I was thinking about that moment in AOTC today where Padme falls out of the gunship and the one thing Obi-Wan says that convinces Anakin not to jump after her is "What would Padme do in your position" and Anakin responds that she would do her duty.
Except. This is entirely untrue. And we've been shown THREE TIMES in this film alone that this is untrue. We'll see more in ROTS and more yet in TCW.
But this moment is ALREADY UNTRUE in the moment that it's spoken. The first time we see Padme do otherwise is when Anakin tells her he's planning to just... abandon his job as her bodyguard in order to go find his mother and her reaction is to say "cool, I'll come with you then." Both of them are SUPPOSED to stay on Naboo in the safety of her people and this out of the way villa, and even if that weren't true, there's no real condemnation from Padme when Anakin specifically states that he's planning on NOT doing his duty by her anymore. The second time is when Anakin is explicitly ordered to stay on Tatooine and NOT go to save Obi-Wan on Geonosis and Padme refuses to abide by that and convinces Anakin to go against his duty for a second time. The third time is when she chooses to tell Anakin she loves him in the Geonosis arena, setting aside all of the reasons she knows she shouldn't be in a relationship with him due to their positions as a Jedi and a Senator. You could even include the moments where Padme decides to pretend Anakin didn't mean it when he said he believed in a democracy despite how very troubling that is to hear from the mouth of a Jedi even if it WAS a joke, and when Padme choosing to condone Anakin massacring a village of Tuskens and keeping it secret from the Jedi.
So there are three moments where Padme either condones Anakin abandoning his duty or abandons her OWN duty and two moments where Padme choosing to look the other way when Anakin demonstrates a questionable behavior because she cares about him and doesn't want to face the reality of what she SHOULD do in that situation, so she just... chooses not to. There's even a quick line when Anakin and Obi-Wan are being seen of by Obi-Wan and Typho and Obi-Wan says something like how he hopes Anakin won't be too reckless and Typho says he'd be more worried about HER. So we're told from almost the beginning of this story that, between the two of them, PADME might be the one more likely to do reckless things whenever she wants.
And of course if we move forward into ROTS, we've got Padme just blatantly ignoring the entire issue of what will happen once the baby is born and imagining this beautiful fantasy where she and Anakin raise the baby on Naboo together, despite the fact that Anakin's duty as a Jedi will make that impossible, despite the inevitable fallout she knows is coming if the Queen figures out she's pregnant while also still being a Senator (which is, ya know, inevitably going to happen eventually), and despite the fact that she and Anakin are STILL LIVING A LIE and so raising children together isn't going to happen the way she thinks it will. Her fantasy is just that, a fantasy. Padme is refusing to do the right thing and be honest about her situation and letting someone else be a Senator in her place so she can pursue starting a family.
We've also got her entire reaction to Obi-Wan showing up to tell her Anakin killed children and the way she just refuses to believe Anakin COULD kill children even though she is one of two people who knows for certain that he's already done so. She refuses to help Obi-Wan find Anakin and, once she gets to Mustafar, her first attempt at reaching him is to convince him to RUN AWAY WITH HER rather than to face any kind of justice for what he's done or ask him what happened. Padme was all righteous about "so this is how liberty dies" earlier, but she's doing the exact same thing on Mustafar with Anakin by refusing to believe Obi-Wan and trying to help Anakin escape instead of acting like the Senator she's supposed to be.
And then you get to TCW where you've got Padme letting Anakin manipulate her into abandoning her responsibilities early in season 1, Padme straight-up LYING TO HER QUEEN in order to get Anakin assigned to the Blue Shadow Virus mission on Naboo, and Padme making the extremely ill-advised choice to give up Grievous as a hostage in order to get Anakin back from Dooku. There's also the first Clovis episode in I believe season 2 when Padme is upset with Anakin the one time he DOES leave her in order to do his duty and punishes him by taking the mission to spy on Clovis that he's trying to convince her not to take.
So it's almost LAUGHABLE that the thing that keeps Anakin on the gunship is thinking that if their positions were reversed, Padme would do her duty when we've had more than one piece of evidence IN THIS FILM ALONE to show that Padme would've fucking jumped if she'd been in Anakin's position.

Bribe me sempai
[link to original post for context]
bahahahhaha, be BRIBED:
The attacks after point rain swept Obi-Wan’s face, armor, robes in fine grains of Geonosian sand—sand that could come right off with a few good wipes, always leaving the cloth dirtier than the man.  In a desert, water is a luxury. Obi-Wan ensured that every active soldier on Geonosis received enough water for hydration as well as a nightly spongebath, and he and Cody were no exceptions. But it was always their eyes on the requisition requests, their eyes on the remaining supplies, their eyes on the casualty reports whenever the medics ran out of clean gauze and resorted to soil-stained cloth. For he and Cody, hydration and sponge baths were luxuries, too. They made a contest out of it—in using the fewest drops from their canteens to dampen the least dusty sections of their sleeves. Afterward, they sat together and took turns nursing the mud out of each other’s sweat-damp hair.  When the war is over, Cody once said, I think I’ll find the sandiest rock out there. Buy a couple of sandwraps and a good healthy dewback. Set up camp somewhere out there. In love with the weather that much, are you? Beats getting drenched in rain. Because that was Kamino—a desert of saltwater dunes as blue as the sweltering sky that Obi-Wan stands under now.  Tatooine sand isn’t like the sand of Geonosis. Sponge baths leave only crusty caked-up rings around the ankles, wrists, and neck. Hosing things down clogs up equipment with thick layers of mud. Even the atmosphere—heavy and dry—peels flakes of skin from hardened, calloused knuckles.  The sandiest rock in the galaxy, here, beneath his feet, and Obi-Wan wishes there’d been an ending to the war, purely so that his Commander could have seen it.
Thank you for the vote and the fun time!! XD
Note: I'll be doing the corresponding Obikin drabbles and the drabbles for other ships after the poll concludes.

will you humor me, I'd like to briefly talk about the time Luminara had to save Obi-Wan from taking a rock to the back of the head because he was trying to protect his husband.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you may recall, our intrepid heroes found themselves back on Geonosis where they had to escape zombification through some catacombs and up through a tunnel whose exit was covered by rocks and debris.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
everything starts out smoothly enough: everyone flees up the escape route and deftly dodges falling rocks while Cody holds off the zombie Geonosians below. because of course he does.
Tumblr media
let's just pause here to admire the iconic rifle throw. also, the 'last out' mentality.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
only once Cody joins them in the tunnel does anyone take interest in what's happening below them. in this case, it's obviously doting space husband Obi-Wan. determined to assist his spouse below, Obi-Wan instantly forgets the danger coming from above. at least in this instant, he's more concerned about Cody than himself, because this is Obi-Wan. he has and he will continue to drive everyone a little bonkers with his self-sacrificing streak. especially Cody, who doesn't typically need rescuing — except from that missile on Yerbana. my man might not have gotten himself out of that one without Obi-Wan.
[and this is where more philosophical folks would write eloquently about acceptable attachment and/or how risking your own life is fine, because Obi-Wan isn't putting everyone else in any particular danger, etc, etc. I'm just here for the space husbands, look at them!]
(is he just Force shoving the Geonosians away for everyone's benefit? dear reader, I don't care.)

WIP Game, Mimic Lives AU? I admit I'm very intrigued by it
Mimic, my DARLING. Copying some of a former ask to provide context:
So this is an AU where 99 managed to sabotage some decommissionings. Not a lot. Not all of them. But some. And if there is anyone who knows the absolute ins and outs of Tipoca City, knows the lines of sight of every security camera, knows the loose vent covers and the concealed nooks and crannies, it is 99- who only escaped decommissioning himself because he made himself useful, and the practice had not been quite so stringently encoded into standard operating protocols yet.
So. The rescued live their lives in the lower levels of Tipoca City, in the nooks and pipes and vents, small and shadowed and silent. 99 brings food and stories when he can, of what goes on outside.
Mimic is robbed of his words and his brothers. 99 is kind but he is very busy, he has no time to give Mimic words to use. But there is one name that Mimic knows how to say, always and always and always--
"Helix?" he asks 99, every time he comes down. "Helix? Helix?"
And 99 tells him of the fearsome CMO of the 212th Attack Battalion, who serves under the legendary General Kenobi. Tells him of Geonosis and Felucia and Laviod and every other battle that Helix has survived and dragged other brothers through with him, and Mimic carves every story deep into his memory and waits to hear of the next thing that Helix survives, and the next thing, and the next thing.
Fast forward. The CRA passes. Finally, finally, the Kaminoans are to be held to account. The Jedi and the troopers get to storm Tipoca City, get to assert full control--
And long-dead brothers begin to emerge from the bowels of Tipoca City, blinking in the sunlight.
Mace and Helix are standing together when it happens. There is so much to coordinate, so much to ensure, so many to keep safe-- but this, this is the best kind of work, justice in its truest form, and the future is bright and sharp but for once it's not them on the other end of the blade, for once they get to wield it--
Mace registers it first.
A new presence, largely unfamiliar, and, well, that on its own wouldn't be surprising, he hardly claims to know everyone--
Except this particular signature, unfurling like a sunflower, is shrieking HelixHelixHelixHelixHELIX in the Force so loudly it's almost dizzying.
He looks up. Behind Helix, who's scowling as he scrolls through his datapad, muttering something about having to up the guards on the long-necks' cells, 99 emerges from a side entrance, holding the hand of another brother.
"Helix," Mace says slowly, "I think someone's looking for you."
99 points towards them, saying something, and a blinding smile blooms across the other clone's face, and he drops 99's hand and breaks into a run--
"Oh, sure," Helix says, grinning wryly, "what else is new? Who else is grievously injured--?"
"HELIX!"
Helix drops the datapad.
He doesn't turn around.
Mimic trips over himself, stumbles, slows-
(He doesn't turn around. He bends down, picks up the datapad-)
Is he-
Is he still angry?
He drops his arms very suddenly.
Maybe-
He had screamed, after all.
Screamed and screamed and screamed and broken all the rules.
"Helix?"
Quieter, this time. No more screaming.
Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. So sorry-
Yes. Yes. He remembers the rules, and the rules work because Helix turns and sees him and Mimic rocks from foot to foot and back again and waits waits waits because there is a pattern to these things that he hasn't forgotten for years and years and years, all the rules to keep them safe, first is empty hands-
(The datapad drops from nerveless fingers-)
Then the open arms-
(And Helix will never turn away again, not even for a ghost-)
And then Mimic hurls himself forward, because he doesn't have a lot of his own words but he thinks there could never be enough for how much he's missed Helix and his hugs and Helix catches him, catches him like he had a thousand times before, and they're both bigger now but he still fits just right and Mimic loves loves loves him, and the words won't come but that's not new so he just hugs him, tight as he can, and says-not-screams Helix Helix Helix-
And the world goes right again when Helix hugs him back.

What would you say to people who think padawans are child soldiers trained for war ?
What other blogs (and I) have already said a bunch of times - that based on Lucas' canon (6 movies + TCW):
1) Jedi training was more focused on diplomacy and such before the war than it was on combat prowess, and you can see evidence of that in Ahsoka's ability to teach a course on politics to a bunch of Mandalorian kids who are her age or older and who are receiving what looks like top education (the Duchess' nephew/adopted son is one of them so it's clearly a good school) or in Obi-Wan's duties with Qui-Gon. Sure, they're ready to pull out the lightsabers at the drop of a hat, but they're both ambassadors, and they spend a lot of the movie trying to impress on people that they're really not meant to be soldiers. What they really do is protect Padmé and give her leverage with their involvement, but she's the one who has to ultimately confront the Trade Federation and force them to comply. There hadn't been a galactic-wide war in like a thousand year, ergo Jedi training was not tailored for war for about a thousand year. If anything, Geonosis showed the Padawans and the Knights and the Masters were absolutely not trained for war.
2) That even during the war, the grown-up Jedi are evidently doing their absolute best to take care of the Padawans. They pull Ahsoka from the front when she makes bad decisions (the Lightsaber Lost episode) and it's not like all the Masters we know about wouldn't immediately jump in front of a blaster bolt for their Padawans (which is what Depa or Jaro DO end up doing for their apprentices, btw). It's not like they could just leave all the teens at home (they likely would have all sneaked out to go fight along with the other Jedi anyway lmao) when there aren't enough Masters or Knights around in the Temple to protect them there either. It's not like they could just leave the Padawans in untrained limbo for the duration of the war - when training in the Force is crucial at formative ages. (Also, we actually do see younglings who are old enough to be Padawans but aren't fighting: the kids who got kidnapped and hunted for sport by Trandoshans. Meaning that a) the Padawans going to war really isn't a matter of the Jedi being happy to throw their kids at the enemy, or they'd have sent O-mer, Jinx and Kalifa too - it's a matter of students accompanying their teachers, because really what else are they gonna do? and b) that Force-sensitive kids are never safe from the perils of the war even if they don't fight in it - so again, might as well keep them within sight)
3) That if you make the argument that the Jedi use child soldiers, then Naboo and Alderaan are on the exact same level. But it's a really bad faith argument to pretend that Padmé's position in TPM was the movie wanting us to see the Naboo government as a messed up child soldier situation, or that Bail and Breha were irresponsible for allowing Leia to join the Rebellion at age 15. And if people agree to be consistent on that one (again, as silly as it is to condemn either the Organas or the Naberries) then the Jedi are by far the more responsible and healthy system. Padawans have the supernatural abilities to outsmart, outrun or outfight a lot of potential threats, including trained warriors or droids. They are not like kids from the rest of the Galaxy, nevermind like kids from the real world.
4) That Padawans fighting in the war wasn't really something we saw in the movies (except on Geonosis, but again they're woefully unprepared for it and they didn't expect that level of aggression on Dooku and the Seps' part). It was the product of the out-of-universe reasoning that if you're going to animate and produce shows for kids, they're going to wanna see kids. My younger brothers and cousins's favorite episodes are probably the younglings eps, because duh.
Ultimately, it all comes down to whether or not people are criticizing the worldbuilding (they can dismiss my first three arguments as not good enough and continue to think the Padawans' situation is messed up, it's totally fair) or are saying that the story itself was condemning the Jedi for 'using child soldiers', in which case I think it's completely unsupported by anything in the movies, shows, or behind-the-scene comments.

hi, Rozz!!! from the kiss prompts, can I please request:
"i'm sorry, i had to." with Sawbones (simping uncontrollably for him tbh)
can’t wait to see how the mean one handles a first kiss 😅
Love It When You Hate Me
OC Sawbones x reader, Original Clone Troopers
Word Count: ~1.5k
Warnings: mention of injury, Sawbones being an asshole. I think that's it lol
A/N: Thank you for the ask Sev 🖤 I get so unbelievably happy when anyone simps of Sawbones lmao I got a little carried away with this but I don't even care, it was worth it 😂
Tumblr media
Before the war, you hadn’t traveled much, staying busy in the emergency wing of Coruscant General. Then Geonosis happened, millions of troopers materializing out of thin air to fight a war most people hadn’t even been expecting. That was how you ended up working for the GAR, traveling around the galaxy to lend your medical knowledge to the troops that needed it most. You had visited several medical centers and worked alongside combat medics across numerous battalions.
The Ord Cestus Medical Center was your most recent assignment, offering an extra set of hands after a large influx of troopers came in. You smiled at the clone stretched out on the bed before you as you checked his vitals. You didn’t even know his name but it didn’t seem to matter to him.
“Am I gonna make it, doc?” he asked, a smirk lifting the side of his mouth. The trooper’s arm was secured to his chest, his right shoulder still healing after being violently ripped from the socket.
“Mm, I don’t know,” you teased, smiling when he laughed. It was a welcomed sound in a place so steeped in pain, meaning you noticed when it cut off abruptly. You checked for any sign that he was in pain but his expression gave nothing away; you followed his eyes across the room and held in a sigh.
As a civilian, you hadn’t been sent into combat areas, making relief missions your most common assignment. Most of the time you spent with a battalion was fleeting but there was one that was an exception: the 104th battalion, the Wolfpack. General Plo Koon’s men still fought infantry battles but they also spent the most time rescuing other troops or offering aid to civilians. If it was by accident or due to a request from the general, you were called in, along with a few other civilians, to offer their medics a few extra hands.
Now, seeing one of those medics, most notably the chief medical officer, wasn’t what you were expecting.
Sawbones looked just as stormy as ever despite the crutches he was hobbling around on. You had heard the stories, the things he’d done in the name of the Republic but your inner idealist wrote them off as exaggerations. Although, when he trooper beside you shifted uncomfortably, glancing at you, it made you wonder. You followed Sawbones’ journey across the room, letting your eyes linger when he stopped at another Wolfpack member’s bed. You huffed under your breath and turned back to the trooper you were treating, gently patting his arm.
“Get some rest,” you ordered with a smile. The trooper flashed you a tense smile before shuffling down, stretching out on his bed. The next patient on your list was a few beds down, closer to where Sawbones was still lingering and you slowed your pace. You had your fair share of run-ins with the Wolfpack’s mean CMO and while his attitude made you want to steer clear of him, there was something about him that had your mind wandering back to him.
Sawbones was harsh on a good day but you had also witnessed a side to him that you’d almost consider...soft. He threw nasty comments around, scaring off anyone who dared get too close but he cared for his injured men with a gentle hand. You had a feeling his threats weren’t empty, but he wanted to help more than hurt, even if he had a funny way of showing it.
Sawbones turned his head slightly as you neared your next patient. His beard was neatly trimmed and you could only remember seeing it long and unruly out on the field. Now that you thought about it, that was the first time you had seen him in anything but his armor; the starchy, gray scrubs made him look softer, less abrasive. You offered the trooper, Dodger, a smile as you approached his bed. It was hard to miss the anxiety lining his expression and you hoped the simple gesture helped a little bit. Dodger’s jaw flexed but he squared his shoulders, taking a deep breath in preparation.
“How are you feeling, Dodger?” you asked, perching on the corner of his bed near his feet.
“Been better,” he mumbled, pointedly not looking at the hip-to-ankle cast he wore. You could feel eyes on your back and ignored the curious glances as you reached for his hand. Recovery was going to take some time but there was nothing unrepairable.
“Enough babying them.” You jumped at the voice from over your shoulder, twisting around to find Sawbones leaning on his crutches, his face twisted in a scowl. “They’re soldiers, not children.” There was a tense silence as you just gaped at him, taken aback by the bitter edge to his voice. Endless, dark eyes bore into yours and it took you a second to shake off the shock.
“Excuse me?” Sawbones arched a brow before shifting his attention to Dodger over your shoulder.
“You live to fight another day. Congratulations,” Sawbones said, his tone flat and uninterested. Dodger blinked a few times before letting out a long, slow breath, and slumping down in his bed.
“Uh, thank you, sir,” he murmured, nodding at the medic. Sawbones grunted before making a slow turn, heading back across the room and all you could do was stare after him. When you looked back at Dodger, there was a half-smile on his face that only grew when he caught the flabbergasted expression on your face.
Then the anger started to build, swelling like an impending storm and you stood so fast you staggered. Dodger tried to get your attention but you were already stalking toward the door Sawbones disappeared through. Finding him was easy, seeing that he could only move so fast and you picked up your pace. You could only imagine the look on your face but it must’ve been ominous enough for any passing staff to step out of your way.
You caught a glimpse of Sawbones disappearing into one of the smaller labs scattered around the medical center and hurried after him. There was one other clone sitting at one of the benches when you stepped inside, the pair turning to look at you.
“Leave,” you ordered, stepping away from the door. The clone hesitated, glancing at Sawbones and it only made your anger spike. “Out.” Sawbones leaned against the workbench, taking some of the weight off his broken leg, his head turning to follow the other clone as he stomped out of the room.
“What?” he asked, arching a brow.
“How dare you," you hissed, storming across the room, carelessly invading his personal space. “I am not one of your subordinates that you can talk down to. You had no right to step in like that.”
“And?” The unbothered air around him made you seethe; any crush you thought you might’ve had on him got shoved to the back of your mind. You ground your teeth together, taking another step closer.
“I don’t care what your problem is. I don’t care why you act like an asshole as if it’s your job but you will not treat me like some incompetent moof-milker.” You jabbed a finger into his chest, relishing in the quiet grunt he let out. “I’ve worked my ass off all my life and if you’re so emotionally constipated that my kindness bothers you, then I’d suggest sucking it the fuck up.”
Sawbones blinked at you, his eyes flickering down to where your finger was still pressed into his chest; when his eyes lifted again they seemed shadowed and it sent an involuntary shiver down your spine. Suddenly, you felt your confidence withering as his expression darkened, his head tilting down, bringing your faces closer together. Just as you were about to take a step back, Sawbones surged forward, slanting his mouth against yours as he cradled the back of your head.
Your eyes widened comically but it didn’t deter him and before you knew it you were melting against him. His mustache tickled your skin and you found that you liked it, closing your fist, tugging him closer by his scrub top. Sawbones rumbled deep in his chest, parting your lips to slip his tongue into your mouth and you whined involuntarily.
It was just a kiss and yet it felt more erotic than any other kiss you’d shared with another person. The movement of his tongue was a mockery of what you desperately wished his hips were doing and it made you shiver. Sawbones broke the kiss so suddenly your head spun and you swayed closer, following his lips before you could catch yourself.
“Sorry,” Sawbones panted, his hand sliding down to your neck, “I had to. I like it when you get mean.”
“I shouldn’t be surprised,” you whispered, still trying to catch your breath. “You only speak one language: asshole.” It felt like a monumental accomplishment when Sawbones laughed; it was a sharp, harsh sound but it brought a smile to your face nonetheless.
“I speak another language too,” he murmured, bumping your noses together.
“Yeah? What’s that?” You barely finished the sentence before he pulled you into another dizzying kiss. Yeah, you would happily speak this language too.

I think one of the most impressive things about Dave Filoni's Star Wars' works (beside his knowledge & respect for the lore of SW) is his understanding of the importance & impact of its visual language on pop culture, and our consumption & interpretation of SW as fans & the general public.
He gets it, he gets that for over 45 years SW fans have seared Luke standing under the twin suns of Tatooine, Yoda teaching Luke in the swamp, Vader & Luke on the bridge of Bespin, on the Death Star, and so much more into our brain, our heart & soul. Those images are iconic, not just from a pop culture front but from a SW lore pov.
It is why in ep 5 of Ahsoka we get so MANY scenes that are callbacks to the OG films but also to the animated series. It is bcos SW is built on echoes of what came before it, except we have reached a point where the callbacks/parallels are to SW media itself now.
So when we get scenes of Ahsoka & Anakin fighting on the walkways of the World Between Worlds, we are getting nearly half a century of cultural VISUAL callbacks & parallels. Luke vs Vader, Anakin vs Obi-Wan, the countless battles during The Clone Wars and so much more. We know & we understand the inherent importance of history that is on our screen. And we fucking breathes it in like life saving air.
It is why when Anakin & Ahsoka stand next to each other, arms folded in front of them, purviewing the destruction of Mandalore, we are recalling the visual familiarities of Anakin & Ahsoka like this in the animated series, the ways Obi-Wan & Anakin stood next each other, the ways Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan stood next each other, and so much more. It is a legacy, it is an iconic stance we all know, that we all connect to SW. Because we have seen it multiple times between Master & Padawan.
It is people walking through dust/gas - a nightmare coming to live, a dream being over, the ways we connect the fear & hope on Geonosis, the battles, and Vader striding through gas. We know the visual cues - a threat or a vision.
But isn't just recalling echoes now, Dave Filoni is creating new SW visuals that will be adding to the lexicon of SW visual language in our brain. Hera, Jacen & Jacen standing in front of the cliff, the ocean beneath & in front of him. It is Anakin striding away into war, smog & fire lighting his way, flashes of Vader present. It is Anakin striding through the smog towards us, Vader across his shoulders. It is the Purgills in the air, in space, their presence in the light. And so much more.
Filoni's visual understanding that SW is full of important & memorable scenes, scenes that are embedded into our subconsciousness, and then creating new scenes for us to latch onto is amazing. A scene in SW can't just be cool, it needs to serve an emotional, a plot, and a mythical purpose. It needs to be iconic.
(And the music. NEVER forget the music).

Padme's interesting because she actually has a lot of agency in all the movies whereas usually the doomed love interest is the pretty lamp along for the ride.
TPM they get to Courscant they do the politics but and she's supposed to wait to either be assassinated, kidnapped, or exiled waiting like a good child while Naboo falls to the Trade Federation. Instead she decides to go back and fight.
AotC she gets pushed to her Jedi guards, but once it's her and Anakin it's her show. She picks the location and when Anakin says he's going she chooses to go with him. She chooses to go to Geonosis. She chooses to rebuff Anakin first and then chooses not only to marry Anakin, but to be complicit in keeping his killing of the Sand People a secret.
Revenge of the Sith she's acting independently of Anakin, I know it's mostly deleted scenes but she's helping Bail and Mon Motha with the beginnings of the rebellion pushing for Palpatine to let go of his emergency powers, literally on the opposite side of the table from Anakin. All the stuff about her dying in childbirth that's driving Anakin over a Shakespearian edge doesn't move her in any direction at all.
When Anakin falls and Obi-Wan tells her what Anakin has done she chooses to find Anakin.
And she even makes the offer for them to run away together and leave everything behind.
Her choices are interesting, because we see her through Anakin a lot of the time where she's beautiful, kind, passionate, an angel and ignore that she makes self-serving decisions about Anakin.
Not to say she deserves or brings about her death on her self. That's the only thing outside her power. She can do anything in the narrative except live.
She has a lot of power in her relationship with Anakin. She's not financially dependent on him. Her reputation might take a hit if their marriage was discovered, but Anakin's life as a Jedi would be ruined completely. At no point is she trapped in the marriage. She genuinely loves Anakin and is willing to hide dangerous secrets for him.
Anyway I just find her really interesting especially when you look at Anakin who you could argue has very little agency with his moments of choice always being choices made out of fear or anger. Padme has lots of agency but is unable to save herself.

Nightmares - 501st edition
"The—the mission, the one in our dreams… that never ends. The one in our dreams... Oh, brother." -Tup
(Coming from the interpretation of this quote that every clone has a recurring nightmare of his worst mission or battle.)
Rex: It changes often for Rex. There always seems to be something worse waiting around the corner. He already has the nightmare as a cadet. The longnecks putting him through endless check-ups and tests to see if he's worth the investment. Later he dreams about his merciless training. Then there's the first battle of Geonosis. More missions, one worse than the other. Zygerria gives him nightmares about being tortured and abused. After Umbara his nightmare stays the same gruesome battle aftermath of brothers he shot himself, until order 66 comes around. The mission in his dreams doesn't change after that, ever. Always the same ship, always the same words echoing through his head. Good soldiers follow orders. He can still hear them over the screams.
Jesse: He dreams about the Battle of Mimban. He lost two of his batchmates in just one day, both dying in his arm only few hours apart. The mission of his dreams changes after Umbara. It's usually him, often next to Fives but sometimes with another vod, standing at the execution site and staring at a row of blasters while Dogma screams "fire".
Dogma: His nightmare is a training mission, one of the special advanced missions that last for weeks that only the better troopers are assigned to. He's good. His friend is there, too. More reckless than clever. Dogma learns the hard way why rules and regulations are important to follow. He wishes he'd been more keen about it sooner to prevent a needless death. He's reminded of what carelessness can do every day in his sleep.
Echo: He's on Rishi Moon. He sees Droidbait and droids shooting, he hears Cutup's screams as the eel carries him away, he feels the ground vibrate as the base explodes with Hevy still inside. It's Fives' nightmare, too. This changes for them after Lola Sayu.
Hardcase: His first mission. It was a bloodbath, a complete fail with heavy casualties. He was fighting in the first row from beginning to end and saw everything.
Kix: He doesn't dream about a specific mission. The setting is always the same anyway. An improvised field infirmary in a stormy night. There's at least twice as many men as beds, everyone except him is severely wounded and he's alone to save their lives. The faces change. Unknown clones, people he's lost or saved, batchmates, friends, comrades, sometimes even his own general.
Tup: His first mission is his worst. Umbara. It's like jumpscares coming from everywhere. He's shooting, fighting, people around him die. Sometimes he sees his brothers' faces behind the Umbaran masks after shooting them. It's absolute chaos and everything's too dark or misty to see properly until it's too late.
Fives: The citadel. Each night he's back on Lola Sayu and fighting against battle droids with Echo by his side. His twin always dies, sooner or later. Fives doesn't know if he should love his nightmares because he can see Echo again or hate them for ripping him away time and again in the most brutal manner. He always has wakes up when the bomb goes off, soaked in sweat, without Echo.

I would like there to be a fic where the "three solobrats" and early love interests (YJK, JJK era, so A/T, J/TK, J/Z) end up time-travelling to the prequel era (probably shortly after Geonosis), and the Organa-Solo kids are excited to meet their not-evil-yet granddad.
This goes off the rails when Tahiri freaks out as soon as Anakin 1.0 enters because that is the monster of folklore who slaughtered a whole tribe of Tuskens, down to the youngest baby.
Because you can't convince me that in this AU a) Anakin doesn't go down as some sort of ghost/horror story in Tusken culture, and b) curious baby force-sensitive Tahiri didn't wander off at some point and end up seeing the echo of the slaughter.
The prequel-era council obviously freaks out about 1. the time travel, 2. some of the time travelers are Anakin 1.0's descendants, 3. Anakin 1.0 apparently committed genocide (note: the fandom doesn't view this with the right amount of horror, even in light of his second genocide--the Jedi), and decides to temporarily suspend his duties until they can perform an investigation of sorts into his decision-making capabilities.
Anakin 1.0 is initially thrilled because OMG GRANDKIDS and one of them is named after him (wahoo!!), but quickly becomes pissy because the friend of his mini-me (EW, she was raised by Tusken Raiders [careful Ani1, your racism is showing] even though she's human) gets him in trouble with the council.
Anakin 2.0 now has even more issues/worries about his namesake, and turning out like him [note: this was a big plot point in his early appearances].
Jaina & Jacen are kinda worried about this because now their granddad was bad from an earlier point??? and they don't know what to do with that. (Jacen is jumping from joy because a bunch of animals that went extinct during the Empire's rule are still alive; Jaina finds out there were apparently seven lightsaber forms before Knightfall, and decides to crash all the basic training classes. This is hilarious because she's older than the enrolled students for the more basic forms like Shii-cho.)
Tenel Ka and Zekk are along for the ride:
("Wait, she's the heir to the Hapes Consortium?" "yes" "and they're letting her be a Jedi too?" "yep" "politically is that allowed?!?" "I mean her mom's from Dathomir?" **jedi padawan noises of imploded worldview**)
("so Zekk what about you" "oh, I'm a Coruscanti street rat :)" "ah ok, so the order found you easily!" "I guess your version would, but the Jedi got massacred, so I didn't start training until I was a teenager :)" **choking noises** "oh yeah, Emperor Palpatine was a total hardass, I'm so glad my friend's parents got rid of him, I'd probably be dead or totally evil if he was still in power" --at this point the padawan(s?) they're chatting to [maybe Barriss; she seems politically aware enough to worry about the heir of a major political power also being a Jedi--she's probably also read about Xanatos] decides to bring them to the council)
It goes something like "Didn't they mention, Darth Vader & the clones slaughtered pretty much the entire Order. Some of the younger padawans escaped (their masters died for them (and oh, doesn't that hit hard)) and ran until dark siders who served the Emperor hunted them down (this can be vaguely compliant with some Rebels content; assume the Rebellion-era is more fusion with new canon, except Thrawn doesn't engage as much with the Lothal cell, and thus is around for the Thrawn trilogy on to proceed (thus inquisitors exist and so too do the Hands--maybe Mara is Palpy's spy in the inquisorius's ranks; Starkiller can be Vader's; Death Star plan theft follows TFU more than R1) it hits hard that some of their own (their children, their future) work to destroy the vestiges of what they were).
Then they find out that Darth Vader, the Sith Apprentice--the emperor's attack dog, his right hand--is Anakin (1.0), the boy they took in, the one they protected, the one some viewed as their savior, the boy winning battle after battle, the one shining bright, the Hero With No Fear, the boy whose fear of losing everything, everyone he cares about is slowly tearing him to shreds, the foolish, foolish boy who will doom the galaxy to save one person and fail at that, the buy who burned and burned, scorching those around him until he was alone, and still burning, until he burned himself to save another foolish boy, the younger burning like a candle, steadily, warmly, rather than like the sun, and Anakin (they can't bring themselves to hate him, even knowing what he will do--they see the sweet child who loved his mother, who wanted to free all the slaves in the galaxy), seeing the warm, kind candlelight of the other boy, the brave, foolish child, his child, his son, and knowing he will burn him, sees the vacuum of space (the cold, cold man who made him burn everyone, who made him lose everyone, until only the vacuum was left behind, the only one he could not burn away), sure to take the air around the lone, kind candle, and the sun (Anakin) burns itself (himself) out, becomes a supernova to push the vacuum (empty, cold, always hungry) away from the candle (the son), and saves the brave, foolish boy who came to help him, but he feared burning most of all (the burning sun of Tatooine burns himself out, after burning with hatred for the better part of two decades, for another desert child, one who burns with warmth, like a hearthfire, and asks for the girl who burns (with the passion of justice, with compassion, the girl who is like him but not for instead of burning the world for those she loves, she who would burn herself out, the girl who would burn her enemies (those who seek the harm the world) for any who deserve kindness, who burns internally, but is willing to burn others as well) to forgive him, and she does, eventually, she names her steady hearthfire of a son after him, and hopes against hope that he (her son, one of her three suns) will have a happy ending, that he will not burn himself out like his grandfather, his namesake [Anakin, her son, he burns too: for his siblings (they will burn as well, his brother like his grandfather--maybe he should have been Anakin instead--and his sister, burning, the one to put out her twin's light, twin suns of Tatooine, one snuffed out the other), his friends (they break apart, the group splintering, fragmented after the war is won; even before), his love (she breaks, in a way not even being shaped by the black holes, put under pressure in the hope of her becoming one, can do; for a while she fades away to almost nothing, invisible, until the brother, seeing the broken, invisible girl takes her, and tries to make the broken puppet of a girl dance for him; it works for a time, building more cracks in her skin until she shatters, and the people who loved him, Anakin the second, the bright boy who burned himself away too soon, see the girl again, no longer invisible, and try to help her [pray they are not too late to put her (shattered, porcelain, crushed spirit, a shell of her former bright self) together again]), for the galaxy; but at this part of the story we don't know his fate, to burn and burn until there is nothing left, until the force takes him away, to burn so hot, so bright, so light, that his enemies (true voids in the force--black holes--not like the cold, hungry vacuum that desired, took the sun of his grandfather) burned away as well; he burns away, but as a hero. This does not stop his mother from her agony; it is all his father can do to hold himself together to stop her shattering like the girl everyone forgot, the invisible girl who loved his son, who would (and does) do anything for the memory of a boy who left the galaxy too soon].
This is the story they tell: of the angry sun who burns everyone (especially even those who offer him kindness), the boy-candle, the girl who burns with the heat of a thousand suns but never harms those undeserving of that fury, the scoundrel with the hard exterior who inside is kind, the brave wookie warrior who lives [and dies, though they will not know it for a time] to protect them, the saviors of the galaxy;
and others as well: the girl who was almost snuffed out by the vacuum, who burned as a quiet ember, whose flame was reawakened by the boy-candle; the boy who parallels her, who was trained by the angry sun to burn like him but refused, who burned out over and over again trying to prove himself, and, in the end, burned out to save the galaxy, who sent the message to the rebels that worked to end the war [the message, that, too late for some, still saved billions, perhaps trillions of lives, had it not been sent (how many worlds could have shared Alderaan's fate?)].

my OCs
Sorry this took so long guys! It was long to type out and I also have a good excuse: I was at basketball and cut my big-toe-nail in half horizontally so had to clean and bandage and what not.
My puppy says hi, btw! (She sat on my lap as I typed this. She was for once not hyper and when she's like that I cuddle her as close as possible.)
@skellymom you asked to be tagged when I posted this so here you go! :D
I rlly hope y'all like this: I've had these guys for a while but never typed up all this stuff.
ALSO IF SOMEONE WANTS TO DRAW THESE GUYS (IDK WHY YOU WOULD CAUSE IM LIKE, IDK, I JUST DONT THINK PEOPLE CARE ABOUT ME AND MY STUFF) THEN GO AHEAD I WOULD LITERALLY CRY OF APPRECIATION
Enjoy!
Request things please!!!
STUFF BELOW THE CUT ITS JUST SUPER LONG!!!!!
OCs included:
Dhole
Vector
Menace
Dice
Bloodshot
Xi
Mit
Vick
Meerrt
Dhole (CT-8019)
Dhole is a member of the Coruscant Guard and has curly black hair with the ends dyed the same red as the red armour. His helmet is designed with striking resemblance to both Wolffe and Fox’s.
He has the trademark tan skin as the rest of the clones as well as dark brown eyes and two obvious scars; one on his chest and the other covering his entire left arm.
Dhole is a literal ray of sunshine and when he was a cadet, he constantly followed Wolffe and Fox around - which gave him his name. My idea is that Dholes do exist in Star Wars but they are rare and only live on one planet. Dholes look like a combination of a fox and wolf.
Everyone in the Coruscant Guard is super protective of Dhole because he’s so sweet and literally cheers up everyone. The 104th thought Wolffe was like the scariest person ever and wasn’t soft to anyone until one day they got back from a mission and their Commander was barrelled over by an energetic ray of sunshine and the entire 104th gasped when Wolffe smiled. Their reaction was priceless.
Dhole makes friends with basically everyone, even Senators he’s in charge of watching over. One time, he befriended and saved Bail Organa who then told Fox if Fox didn’t promote Dhole, Bail would join the Separatists. Fox gladly gave Dhole the rank of ARC Trooper.
Dhole befriended Ahsoka once and when he heard about how Tarkin was being sexist and racist he grabbed his pistols to go kill him without a moments hesitation. It took Fox, Thorn and Vector holding him back to stop him.
He did the same thing when he heard Palpatine denying Fox time off work, but overall loves his job. Dhole is very sweet, but also protective in a strange way. He won’t hesitate to hurt/kill someone if they’ve hurt his friends or brothers and most likely will get away with whatever he’s done.
He’s the sunshine of the Coruscant Guard and you hurt him, you die.
Vector (CT-8124)
Vector is a member of the Coruscant Guard and best buds with Dhole. They are quite similar as they are both kind and sweet except Vector is a lot shier. Vector got his name from a little boy he saved as a shiny. The boy asked what his name was and Vector had to explain he didn’t have a name. The boy almost cried before telling Vector that they could share a name - and dubbed him Vector as that was also the boy’s name.
He is the definition of ‘the poet’ from ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos. His smart and quiet, but when he speaks up, everyone listens. No one but Dhole really knows his opinion on his work - but he really isn’t bothered by it. The only thing Vector hates doing is paperwork because whilst he’s the best out of the Guard in getting it done fast and well, he finds it boring and time-consuming.
Vector has the same tan skin as the rest of the clones and honey gold eyes. He has brown hair that's dyed blonde on the ends. He has a scar that goes from his right eye, over his nose and then down to the base of his neck. He got the scar from a piece of shrapnel during the First Battle of Geonosis - as all clones (apart from those still on Kamino) participated in the battle.
Everyone in the Guard loves Vector - although in a different way to the way they adore Dhole - and it’s well-known that wherever Dhole is, Vector will be hiding behind him quietly in the shadows.
Vector’s helmet is the same as the regular Corrie helmet except he has a little sun emblem on the forehead - whether it's a nod to Dhole’s sunny nature or not, no one really knows.
Because Vector is so quiet and introverted, he mostly just hangs around with Dhole - and their inseparable - but he also loves Cody, as his Ori’vod respects his silence and is the only other person to figure out a type of communication Vector is okay with.
Menace (CT-7874)
Menace is like Hardcase combined with Fives as a Coruscant Guard member. He’s caff addicted because he loves the energy hit and would probs do drugs if Fox didn’t yell at him so much every time he thought out-loud what it would be like to take them. He’s done deathsticks several times but isn’t addicted cause he’s smart in how he takes them.
Menace got his name because that's what he is - a menace. He’s moody and smart, daring and proud but overall he causes enough chaos that he should be a 501st trooper. He’s best friends with Dice and Bloodshot, and is the bad influence of everyone. He’s got the classic look of a clone trooper except dark brown hair instead of black hair. Menace has a scar covering his left eyebrow from being attacked by an assassin who was trying to kill a senator. Although Menace is chaotic and stupid and fun, he’s devoted to his work and does work very well. He’s kind of like the Jake Peralta (Brooklyn Nine Nine) of the Coruscant Guard. Menace is the ‘soldier’ again from ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos. He’s strong and dedicated, and too determined to be knocked down.
Him, Hardcase and Fives get along like a house on fire and have collectively taken days of sleep from Rex and Fox. His helmet is the classic Corrie helmet although the top left side is completely painted black with licking ginger flames around it - to symbolise Menace’s first helmet which got destroyed in a bombing.
Dice (CT-6346)
Dice has short black hair, tan skin and brown eyes - like the classic clone look. He’s never bothered to change his hair or anything. He has a burn scar that covers his right eye and eyebrow, and a torso scar from his left ankle all the way up his leg and back that ends at his collarbone. Dice is also a member of the Coruscant Guard. He’s the definition of the moon personality - very private about his anxieties and such.
Captain Rex met Dice when he was a shiny and gave him his name upon witnessing the clone bargain his way out of a situation. Dice is a legend and board/card games and is incredibly smart. When dealing with a particularly hard case, Fox always turns to Dice for help. He’s smart, thoughtful and calculating, but he’s a really nice person too. He’s not introverted or extroverted and is just happy to help. Dice loves his work because he loves the challenges different cases provide and finds them interesting to explore.
Dice has the classic Corrie clone trooper helmet except a red dice simple in the middle of the forehead.
Whilst Dice is best friends with Menace and Bloodshot, he’s really close with Rex because he’s the one who gave him his name. Dice can be a little chaotic but he’s usually pretty chill - but always chill with Rex. They get along so well because Rex seems him as a combination of Fives and Echo - smart, funny, kind and everything else.
Bloodshot (CT-3496)
Bloodshot is the ‘king’ of ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos, and he’s the most serious of the group. He and Fox get along like a house on fire because their both so tired of the Guard’s antics. He’s a sweet and kind guy and quiet but not in a shy way. Quiet in a menacing way.
Bloodshot has short light brown hair, tan skin and brown eyes, and he’s extremely fit. He has a going from his stomach up his chest, over his neck that hooks around his right ear. He got the scar when he was attacked by an assassin - crazy similar to Menace. He’s dedicated to his work because its his work and no one really knows his other thoughts on the topic.
Bloodshot’s helmet is a regular Corrie helmet with splotches of red over the eyes and a red ‘blood-drop’ on the forehead.
Bloodshot got his name because he drinks a lot of caff - religiously, like man must drink caff - and that causes his eyes to go bloodshot quite a lot. He’s humble about how talented he is as a fighter and extremely quick-witted. When Bloodshot yells ‘Shut up!’ everyone freezes. He’s not the eagerest to do things, but isn’t lazy in the slightest.
If someone is upset you can count on Bloodshot and Dhole going to hunt down and kill whoever hurt their Vod.
No one really understands why Menace, Dice and Bloodshot are so close but they click in a way that you can tell means their platonic soulmates and the truest of brothers.
Bloodshot managed to gain Plo Koon’s love when he rescued a stray-runaway-Youngling and returned her to the Kel Dor. He’s the Ori’vod of the group and is the only possible (apart from Dhole) who can convince Fox to sleep, and takes his responsibility with pride. Although, he probably needs sleep just as much as the Commander.
Xi (CT-5113)
Xi is a member of the 501st and has wavy black hair that falls to just below his ears, brown eyes, tan skin and a small Republic symbol tattooed on his nose. He also has a scar from the tip of his middle finger on his right hand that travels up to his elbow that he got from a crash-landing.
Xi is sort of a combination between the soldier and king from (yet again) ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos. He’s funny and kind yet courageous and loyal. Rex is extremely proud of Xi because he’s done many things that have rightfully earned him his ARC Trooper status. Although many people don’t believe it at first, Xi is a strangely good mechanic - and is often the one to fix things in time-ticking situations.
He’s best friends with Mit and is absolutely obsessed with music. Like, most listen to music.
Other than Rex and Mit, Xi gets on with Jesse and Fives amazingly as they share several similar personality traits. They once had a bit too much to drink and got lost on Coruscant but that's a story for another time.
Ahsoka and Xi also get along because Xi is always by her side - no matter what. He would be crushed if anything happened to her. Like his Padawan, Anakin and Xi are friends because of their loyalty, but also love for mechanics. It’s not rare to find them ranting about mechanics together.
Xi’s helmet is similar to Fives except he has painted a blue ‘scar’ over the right eye to match Anakin’s and the left half of the face has Ahsoka’s face markings except in blue. There are two ‘teardrops’ underneath the right eye - which Tup later copied.
Xi is slightly more extroverted then he is introverted but he hides his emotions a lot because he fears that he is being weak and that others have bigger problems than him so he shouldn’t complain. One time, he bottled his emotions up for so long he eventually shattered and Rex spent hours with him calming him down.
Mit (CT-5114)
Mit has a black buzzcut, tan skin and gold eyes with several small scars but none extremely big or noticeable. He’s a member of the 501st and was promoted to ARC Trooper at the same time as Xi for an amazing mission they completed all by themselves. His helmet is the ARC Trooper helmet - like Fives’ - but he has the visor outlined in blue - like Rex’s - and two matching teardrops to Xi’s under the right eye. He has a star personality as he is fun to be around and focuses on enjoying life. Mit’s funny, soft, gentle and brave and contrasts Xi in several ways. Mit is more of a rules-follower than Xi and gets along with Echo well because of it. He and Kix also get along for reasons they don’t really understand.
Mit’s a bit more introverted than extroverted, which contrasts well with Xi, who’s the opposite. Whilst Xi bottles up his emotions, Mit is a lot calmer than that, and very in control of his negative emotions. If he really needs to vent, he will go to Xi or Kix.
Mit really loves reading, and will basically read anything he can get his hands on. It’s not rare to find him dangling from his bed with a datapad scrolling through a book too deeply fixated to hear anything anyone else is saying.
Because he loves to read so much, Mit is the resident clone-translator, and together he and Obi-Wan have translated many things for the others. Sometimes, the two will have conversations in front of others in a different language just to annoy them, and that's where their friendship formed. Mit once saved a small Nautolan boy who only spoke Nautila and managed to get him home. Whilst Xi is good at mechanics, Mit is smart in languages and random knowledge, and the pair use those skills to help the 501st get out of a lot of difficult situations.
Vick (CT-2323)
Vick has neatly cut black hair, tan skin and brown eyes - the classic clone look, just like Dice. He has three triangular scars on his right arm and a scar covering his stomach that he earned when he was attacked by a beast during a mission. He’s a member of the 212th. Vick is the soul/heart as he is very upfront with his beliefs and heart-strong instead of head-strong. He’s sarcastic, brave and kind with everything he does and Cody adores him for it.
Vick’s helmet is the classic 212th clone trooper helmet with two yellow triangles - points facing down - on the cheeks. He’s best friends with Meerrt as they balance each other out extremely well.
Vick is close with Cody as they share the same stupid recklessness but love for the others of their troops and their General. Obi-Wan and Vick get along very well after Vick, Cody, Meerrt and Obi-Wan once got stranded together on a mission and they all discovered Vick’s strange talent in tea-brewing. Now, when they want tea, they hunt down Vick and beg him to make them the drink.
Vick hates drugs and deathsticks but likes to drink on the occasion, as it helps numb the constant reminder of the war. Cody and him sometimes barricade themselves in the barracks and drink till they can’t remember their names in sorrow, side by side for comfort.
When the 212th were on Ryloth, Vick befriended a Twi’lek boy who he constantly denies having a crush on - but most of the 212th don’t believe him. They manage to catch up occasionally and Vick always comes back grinning.
Vick absolutely adores learning about new and different cultures - not the food, as Meerrt has asked several times, no, he loves learning about their non-food-culture. Upon going to new planets, he sticks with Obi-Wan if they don’t speak the same language and asks for translations, which the General happily does.
Meerrt (CT-2361)
Meerrt looks the same as Vick although his hair is slightly longer and scruffier. There is a burn scar covering his left ear and as a result the hair around it was singed slightly so he buzzed it and also has weaker hearing in that ear.
When Vick, Obi-Wan, Cody and him were stranded and they discovered Vick’s tea-making skills, Meerrt got burned in the crash that led to his scar.
He has the classic 212th helmet with a yellow sun emblem on the forehead - similar to Vector’s - and yellow stars on the sides.
Meerrt loves astronomy deeply and endlessly, and spends hours researching it. He has a sun personality meaning he’s slightly more extroverted and bubbly, all smiles for days. He’s encouraging, sweet and funny and the kinda guy you go to for a hug.
Meerrt gets on with Cody because he can cuddle up to the Commander and not get reprimanded or teased for it. Sometimes a clone needs sleep and affection. He also gets along well with Waxer as they both met little kids they sheltered and protected for a bit.
Meerrt met a little Togrutan boy whilst on a mission - who later turned out to be Force-sensitive and was taken to the Temple - who he immediately bonded with. Meerrt had a breakdown when they were separated and stayed gloomy for weeks.
Meerrt doesn’t really like alcohol, deathsticks or anything of the sort but juice like its water. Whenever he can, Meerrt buys as much juice as possible to keep and savour.
Meerrt is a really heavy sleeper and - like most other clones - often has night terrors. He’s mostly silent during these - unlike Vick who screams and thrashes like he’s being attacked and makes everyone pity him - but often seeks comfort from either Vick or Cody afterwards and have a cup of hot chocolate.
Meerrt’s favourite planet they’ve been to is Naboo - where he first participated in the Blue Shadow Virus mission - and he’s visited several times. He once met Padme who showed him around her planet and they built a sweet friendship because of it.
*sighs* that was VERY long and I apologise to anyone who read all of that.
Thoughts on my ocs, please share?!
If anyone wants oneshots/headcanons with these guys (or not!) please please please pleasseeeee tell me!!!!!!
Have a lovely day/night/whatever your time is!!!

Another Star Wars: Rebels appreciation post incoming under the cut.
One thing about Rebels that people who scoff at it don't get is how it builds. The story-of-the-week format of S1 ultimately builds into a galaxy-spanning 6-episode arc that unites the themes of the past 4 seasons and is just so damn intense in the best way. It'd give you whiplash if you switched from S1 to S4. And yet it never devalues the silliness of the first season! The scope of the show takes us with it on a journey of how Rebels are created, how the characters' own perception of a Rebellion is formalised and evolves over time. And yes, that means seeing them embrace the darkness and difficult choices that come with a growing network whose goal far outstrips its resources. And yet, it comes together all the same- cell by cell, we see how the Spectres recruit and bring together people who join the Rebellion. At the end, as Kanan says, all paths come together- the subtle philosophy of the Force no longer remains separate from the battle on the ground. You need to see Ezra's entire growth to fully appreciate the staggering amount of effort that came into those final episodes.
I won't compare it to The Clone Wars, because that show had a certain constraint with respect to its characters and ending that Rebels didn't, but it does maintain a linearity of tone throughout- gathering darkness on a galaxy-wide scale. That is the story it tells, and it suits the format. But Rebels is about the slightest glimmer of hope shining through a darkness that descended over a decade ago, that seemed impenetrable; a glimmer that through its faith and courage slowly grew into a flame from which the phoenix of light could once again rise (yes, the phoenix was deliberate XD). Please give it a chance- besides, S1 literally is as much fun as you'll let it be.
As for it being childish, it honestly isn't. Not even the first few episodes. The theme of compromise, sacrifice, and forced passivity is there throughout. Just because it isn't present in the dialogue, doesn't mean it's absent. The terror of a slow occupation of Lothal, with the casual appropriation of land and evicting of citizens, is in fact a focus right from the start. And later, we have the central question of "what does being a Rebel really mean" becoming a central part of the show, and we get perspectives ranging from Saw's direct, unscrupulous view of it as a war, to Mon Mothma's cautious, conservative approach that wants to secure the long-term victory at the expense of short-term interests- and we see the Spectres, exposed to both of these, realise that neither is good enough on its own. They find their own answer, but it's not shown as the answer. It is simply that they played the role they were given as well as they could, while somehow maintaining their subjective moral compasses.
I don't even know why I made this post, just... please don't hate on this show without watching it. It introduces so many cool and thought-provoking concepts and its characters have so much heart! <3 (Obligatory "Hera Syndulla is the best- even her archrival agrees" addendum here). The different planets we see, from Mandalore to Geonosis, and of course the villains!! Thrawn is one of the most characters ever in SWR, and the wisely limited apprearance of Vader shows him as terrifying and darkly strategic as ever.
Also a major strength of it, for me, is that apart from a few glaring instances, it's avoided the "telling instead of showing" trap. Quite a bit is left for the audience to infer. You can watch it in any mood, honestly, and you'll have fun. Except the last few ones, uhhh you'll see what I mean.

Caught somewhere in time Chapter 6 preview
“Everybody leaves me.” The words are so soft, but send a glare of cold ice through his veins.
“Boba…”
“Don’t. Don’t make a promise you can’t keep. You’re gonna be called away to war again. You’ll leave me, again. And I’m just… stuck here as a prisoner. They won’t even let me see my dad!”
He’s not quite sure what to say to that. It’s wrong. Jango Fett is not a good man. Most of the time. But his son is innocent. And even bad men can be decent or even good fathers, who deserve to see their children from time to time.
“I’m sorry.”
“Yeah… me too.” Boba walks on at those words, keeping his gaze to the floor and his arms across his chest.
Anakin and Ahsoka are already waiting for them when they arrive.
The second they step into the circular room, Cody’s familiar voice rises to meet them.
“Generals, with all due respect. But Fett hasn’t seen his son in six months and it is-“
“- A strategy to withhold him his parental rights. We’re not talking about a run-of-the-mill criminal here, commander. This man attempted to assassinate Senator Amidala, and chose to uphold his contract with Count Dooku.” Master Mundi says.
“Which he also broke at the battle of Geonosis, general. An action that must not be taken lightly. The man is still a Mandalorian.”
“I’m afraid that is not a-“
“-He’s right,” Mom says. “Mandalorians do not break their contracts easily. There are few exceptions that allow it. That Fett broke his speaks volumes. I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve his due diligence. But a visit from his son is appropriate.”
"Hmm, yes. Curious, is it not? Saved little Cal Kestis, Jango Fett has. Gone out of his way, he did. Very curious, yes." Master Yoda looks at mom with a look that he can only describe as bemused antagonism.

Through the Prequels, there were moments in which source material acknowledged and outright said Jedi became too arrogant. The best example comes from Attack of the Clones:
"I am concerned for my Padawan," Obi-Wan Kenobi said to Yoda and Mace Windu as the three walked along the corridors of the Jedi Temple. "He is not ready to be given this assignment on his own." "The Council is confident in this decision, Obi-Wan," Yoda said. "The boy has exceptional skills," Mace agreed. "But he still has much to learn, Master," Obi-Wan explained. "His skills have made him… well, arrogant." "Yes, yes," Yoda agreed. "It's a flaw more and more common among Jedi. Too sure of themselves, they are. Even the older, more experienced Jedi." Obi-Wan considered the words with an assenting nod. They certainly rang true, and the current conditions among the Jedi in this time of mounting tension were a bit unsettling, with many off on their own far from Coruscant. And had not arrogance played a major role in Count Dooku's decision to depart the Order, and the Republic? [AotC by R.A. Salvatore]
However I do not think Yoda - and Kenobi for that matter - truly thought this applicate to them personally. I mean, Obi-Wan's first reaction was to connect arrogance to Jedi in general and Dooku specifically instead of taking a moment to wonder if Yoda's words may be also about his own persona. And then during Battle of Geonosis it was Obi-Wan who assumed he and Skywalker (a padawan few days before he claimed to not be ready for solo mission) will be enough to stop and capture Count Dooku, one of the great Jedi Masters and top duelist of Order.
Yoda's perception of own arrogance hit hard once Order 66 was issued and he failed to stop Darth Sidious. As could be seen in Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover:
Even after nearly nine hundred years, the road to self-knowledge was rugged enough to leave him bruised and bleeding. He spoke softly, but not to himself. Though no one was with him, he was not alone. "My failure, this was. Failed the Jedi, I did." He spoke to the Force. And the Force answered him. Do not blame yourself, my old friend. As it sometimes had these past thirteen years, when the Force spoke to him, it spoke in the voice of Qui-Gon Jinn. "Too old I was," Yoda said. "Too rigid. Too arrogant to see that the old way is not the only way. These Jedi, I trained to become the Jedi who had trained me, long centuries ago-but those ancient Jedi, of a different time they were. Changed, has the galaxy. Changed, the Order did not-because let it change, I did not."
