there’s something about scuttling through the bones of old sharks blogs — the amount of notes, the aesthetic trends of the mid 2010s, the detail work and creativity and passion behind edits. there is a sharp cut off, somewhere between 2016 (the sharks’ last deep cup run) and 2019 (when things truly began to fall apart) where these blogs disappear, stop posting altogether or move on. i step between the graveyard of their sharks tags. there are colourful celebrations of milestones, hat tricks, and a couple of incredible saves. i recognise some of the faces: marleau, thornton, pavelski, couture, vlasic. hertl. in the depths of the rebuild and carrying on, i wonder, i think, i joke to my friends: one day, will other people be excavating our defunct sharks blogs? and then i think yeah i better fucking stick a source link on that
