By the time I got to Masuda the fog mostly cleared, but there was still some diamond dust in the air ✨ Difficult to take photos of, and it was clearer irl, but I'm glad it's visible at all. A glittering winter phenomenon known as "diamond dust" has been observed in freezing temperatures in a town in Gifu Prefecture, central Japan.

The phenomenon occurs when subzero temperatures cause water vapor in the air to freeze and sparkle in the sunlight. It often occurs when temperatures plunge to below minus 10 degrees Celsius overnight, and there are few clouds and only gentle winds.

Twinkling particles of "diamond dust" were seen flying over a snow-covered river shortly after sunrise on Thursday in a mountain district of Takayama City. Frost also formed on the branches of trees by the river.

Stumbling upon Mizu naked was defintely not on my agenda.

We had set up camp in a secluded area of the forest, finding a hot spring much to our relief. Mizu had sent me off to forage for food, claiming that 'he' was going to porperly set up the tents. So that's what I did, muttering about the cold and the snow and everything that a woman could possibly be complaining about.

When I returned I was met with the sight of the tents set up but Mizu nowhere to be found. So, naturally I begin to worry. Mizu was a capable warrior, but 'he' could still be ambushed. No one was perfect. So I scurry off towards the place I last saw Mizu, following a trail of footprints that most likely belonged to 'him'.

After following said trail for a while I reach what appears to be a natural hot spring. My eyes widen- this was a brilliant place to finally get clean. But that wasn't the point right now, I had to find Mizu.

Before I actually had the proper time to comprehend anything or even begin properly looking a familiar blade is pointed straight at me. Startled, I step backwards, falling onto my behind with a small 'oomph'.

"Mizu-!"

My trail of thought is cut off as I looked up. I realised right then two different, very important things. One: 'he' was not a he. Mizu was a girl. Very obviously so considering she was buck ass naked in front of me and had no dick. Secondly- she had stunningly pretty eyes. I had never gotten a proper look at her eyes as she always hid them but now that she was bare I could see them. My breath catches in my throat and I can't help but stare.

"You're eyes-" I begin, only to be promptly cut off by Mizu.

"Yeah? What, gonna insult me as well? Actually, wait what are you even doin-"

"-they're like diamonds," I finally blut out. "They're so... clear. Like the ocean around Japan or, well, diamonds."

Mizu seems taken aback by your blatant compliments. She sheaths her blade, stepping back slightly. Her brows are furrowed as she contemplates whether or not to believe you. She's had people compliment her to distract her before but... you seemed completely sincere. A little too sincere considering that from her perspective you hadn't stopped staring.

It was true, though. I hadn't managed to take my eyes off of her. She was so... beautiful. In all aspects. After seeing her as she was a lot of things finally made sense. Why she always had so many bandages on her, why she kept her neck hidden and so on. But wow... she was really the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

If it wasn't obvious to Mizu that I was a raging lesbian before, it sure as hell was now. I was looking at her as if she hung the stars in the sky for me to see. She was suddenly very aware that she was naked in front of you now. Mizu unsheathes her blade, pointing it at you once more.

"Don't even think of telling anyone about this," she growls, trying to mask her confusion with aggression.

"Please stab me-" I blurt out.

Car chases aren't as great as Hollywood makes them seem. On the screen, they're fun, exciting, maybe even a little sexy. In reality, you're basically constantly looking at your water temperature gauge to see if you're going to nuke a head gasket running the engine flat out for this long. Plus, you're driving something with the approximate horsepower of half a drunk bicyclist.

Sure, you could argue I brought it on myself. Stealing that prototype turbocharger from the automotive museum, in plain sight of Mitsubishi's finest security thugs, was going to get me in hot water one way or another. I just didn't think it would elevate to the level of a literal car chase, but it turns out those hard-working grunts had watched a pretty spicy action flick on the flight over, and were ready to find out what their rental hybrid Malibu could do.

In my defence, I really wanted that turbo. And it wasn't doing anyone any good, sitting in that alarmed display case. Most car parts aren't all that exciting to look at: if anything, I was giving the three-diamond crew some free marketing. This is what was on my mind as I blew one of the rear spring shackles driving over some thankfully-abandoned playground equipment while shortcutting across a minor residential development. Don't worry: the turbo was fine, buckled into a well-loved baby seat in the back of the car.

While I made it away from Japan's finest turbocharger-producing thugs, my car was not quite as lucky. I finally slid to a stop at a community centre parking lot, the force of the handbrake turn bending the corroded unibody in such a way that the doors would no longer shut. I had to hoof it from there, a prospect which the angry guards chasing me likely considered to be "too easy" and maybe even a little pathetic. They stayed behind, pleased that they had at least immobilized my shitbox. Maybe they even planned to run the license plate, a prospect which I found more than a little funny because I had punched it out of an old snow shovel the morning before.

Bi-han was currently following sektor to his laboratory sektor stopped walking "sektor I don't have all day what do you-" Bi-han stopped as he felt a sharp wound on his back he looked behind to see it was cyrax but he was a yellow cyber robot "cyrax! You dare betray me!?' Bi-han shouted " Cyrax doesn't follow your commands..." Sektor said to bi-han his eyes widen looking at both cyrax and sektor "you both dare betray the lin kuei!" The sound of chirping birds and the light of the sun on his face caused bi-han to wake up his eyes wandering around the room he was lying on a bed his wound bandaged and he was shirtless "what happened-" "I see your awake" Bi-han saw a girl stand in near the door way with a bowl of soup "who are you?" Bi-han asked "sareena I am the one who rescued you in the mountains" Sareena said to bi-han.

His mind drifted to the betrayal of cyrax and sektor "cyrax, sektor they...." Bi-han was at a loss of words trying to comprehend what was happening sareena sat on the chair beside his bed "what's your name-" "It's none of your business" Bi-han said to sareena she raised her eye brow "well eat up" Sareena said giving him the bowl of soup bi-han snatched the bowl and drank it in a gulp.

"Not a kind one are you" Sareena said bi-han narrowed his eyes at her "where am i?" Rising silicon-rich snow in the Earth's outer core Deep below the Earth’s surface lies the outer core, which is made up a 2,000-km-thick liquid iron alloy layer. Despite being located 3,000 km deep from the surface, the outer core affects our surface habitability as it is the region where Earth’s magnetic field is generated. In a study recently published in the journal Nature, a team of scientists, including Sang-Heon Dan Shim and Suyu Fu of Arizona State University, have completed an experimental observation of silicon-rich crystal formation in iron-hydrogen alloy liquid at high pressure and high temperature conditions expected for the Earth’s outer core. Crystals predict snow The crystals contain enough silicon to be lighter than the liquid, and therefore the crystals will rise in liquid iron metal. For this experiment, lead author Fu, former ASU postdoc now at University of Tokyo as a postdoctoral fellow for the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, and Shim, a professor at ASU's School of Earth and Space Exploration and Navrotsky Professor, along with Stella Chariton and Vitali Prakapenka, both of University of Chicago, focused their laboratory observation to predict that silicon-rich crystals may snow in the outer core, but instead of sinking they will rise. “The silicon-rich alloy crystallization was found during our experiments in snowy winter days at Chicago during the pandemic,” Shim said. “It is interesting that such crystallization behavior can lead to rising silicon-rich snow in the outer core.” For this experiment, iron-silicon alloy is loaded in a hydrogen-argon gas mixture at ASU. Then the samples were compressed to the pressures expected for the core in a diamond-anvil cell. While being held at high pressure, the sample is heated by laser beams to temperatures expected for the core at the Advanced Photon Source, a U.S. Department of Energy user facility at DOE’s Argonne National Laboratory, where the researchers can monitor crystallization in a diamond-anvil cell using extremely bright X-ray beams. “Creating high enough temperatures for melting of iron alloys in hydrogen at high pressure has been very difficult,” Shim said. “The reason is that hydrogen can diffuse into diamond anvils and breaks them and fail the experiments.” For this experiment, “Our team developed a new method where hydrogen is mixed with argon in diamond-anvil cells. Argon does not react with the sample but suppresses hydrogen diffusion into diamond anvils, enabling us to achieve the extreme conditions in laboratory,” Shim said. This phenomenon can make silicon-rich snow piles at the boundary between the metallic core and the rocky mantle where many enigmatic fine-scale structures have been found in seismic imaging studies for decades. “If silicon and hydrogen are the two main light elements in the outermost core with appropriate abundances, such a rising silicon-rich snow can occur,” Fu said. Indeed, among those structures, the core-rigidity zones (a few hundred meters thick with solid-like properties in the liquid iron metal outer core) found at the core side of the core-mantle boundary may be the silicon-rich snow piles. If the convecting mantle flow can capture some of these rising silicon-rich crystal snows, they may appear as a fine-scale structure with very low seismic velocities at the lowermost mantle, which can explain the ultralow velocity zones documented in seismic studies for decades in the region. “Our study also predicts that the silicon-rich snow starts at the outermost-core region and can develop into greater depths with further secular cooling of Earth,” Fu said. "The Biei and Furano area is most famous for its bucolic rural landscapes of vast, colourful rolling flower fields... Silvery hills and fantasy snowscapes and sparkling hills in the winter...when 'diamond dust' and 'light pillars' can appear. (Hmm - I'll look for them!) Snowmobiles popular, etc.

⭐️ 2023 recap! ⭐️

It’s finally time for the last year recap, I think this will be way shorter than 2022 recap because I feel to not have accomplished a lot this year 😩

As usual I decided to split the year month by month to be more accurate and to post all the pictures I can find.

Let’s see if I need to split this entry in two parts or this year one post will be enough 😂

JANUARY

This year I decided to start journaling more so I started the year with a new journal, two to be exact (one for my personal life and one for school life). During the year I’ve bought gel pens, stickers and a lot of decorations for my planners. During the last part of the year, when I started a very serious diet, I also started a journal dedicated to that. I re-discovered a passion for organization and planning that I did have before but never enjoyed that much 😂

Like we did also this year, we started the 2023 on the mountains, it’s became a little tradition for our family to rest and recharge batteries for the year to come. We did some walks in the woods and in the snow and we spent some time together just the three of us (me, my boyfriend and our cat). I took my dolls with me as always to take some cute pictures.

Back home I started a few commissions, “left overs” from past year: another Esmeralda cosplay from my (almost dead) Etsy shop and some upgrading for a Sith costume I did at the end of 2022. As I stopped taking new commissions at the end of the previous year I knew that I won’t be that busy this year and my plan for the year was to start renovating my studio and to do a little inventory of all my stuff…

I started from my dolls, obviously 😂 I decided to clean, restring and improve my oldest BJDs, given to me by a friend that are more than 20 years old! Restoring them took me almost all the month but I was really happy of the results ❤️

As for my health, one of my new year resolutions was to be in full heath again, so I started to do daily yoga sessions at the end of each day and I tried to eat better in general.

Meanwhile my school life was going on, between assignments for my girls and all the papers I have to submit almost weekly for my first year as a teacher.

FEBRUARY

This month passed really smoothly, in school we started to select the dresses that my girls will have to make for the Fashion Show at the end of the year (these theee below) and I was busy as always juggling between planning lessons and submitting papers…

I did a little commission for a colleague, some embroideries for her daughter and I started one of the few cosplays commissions of the year: a Pokémon trainer outfit.

For Valentine weekend we decided to fly to Catania to spent a romantic holiday and we really enjoyed the city and our time together ❤️

Back in Milan a friend of mine from my hometown visited me for the Chinese New Year and we spent some time in Chinatown and to the exhibition of a famous comic artist from Rome, Zerocalcare, that we both love very much.

Ah! This month I also acquired a Cricut machine for future works (at this date she’s still in her box 😩) from a client as an exchange for some future cosplays.

Nothing to say about my health this month luckily.

MARCH

In March my school life started to kick in quite badly: I had tons of online lessons in the evening after school and I also needed to take some extra lessons with my tutor (another fashion teacher from my school) with a very busy schedule!

And as consequence my health started to worsen a little bit, I was always really tired and I cannot focus very well on all the things I had to do outside school. I started taking some pills to sleep better and to keep my fatigue under control.

So to uplift my spirit we did a bit of tourism (we visit a very cute medieval town called Ricceto di Candelo)

and of course I started with the first self-present of the year 😂 I pre-order two new dolls 1/6 scale from Japan scheduled to arrive on November.

I also started a new hobby: diamond painting! As my usual I became really ossessive about it and I compulsively bought a lot of kits, 4 or 5… and I started making the first as soon as it arrived.

As for sewing, I did a couple of new skirts for me to wear at school and I keep working on the Pokémon trainer Cosplay. Here and there I tried to sew something new for my dolls, with the secret hope to be able to open my dolls shop finally this year.

APRIL

I didn’t do anything really special in April, we spent the Easter break on the mountains (we visited a really beautiful water-life center and we saw really cute otters 🦦)

and I took another little break at the end of the month to visit my family back in my hometown. We have a reason to celebrate altogether: my brother and his girlfriend decided to get married in September! ❤️

My health was going downhill again, I cannot sleep very well and the paper works to submit for my school we’re hunting me, so I decided to be more careful about my diet and to increase yoga and physical activity.

In this month I bought some extra hands for my Smartdolls (during a sleepless night on the mountains 😂) and some cute stuff also for my dolls on AliExpress.

Beside diamond painting I also decided to follow some YouTube tutorials to improve my Procreate skills.

MAY

During May I was mainly focused on my school activities: the fashion show for the end of the year was approaching and as well my “exam”; I had to submit a report about my year as a teacher and about an activity I’ve developed during the year with my girls. It was really exhausting 😩

I also started two new commissions that I enjoyed very much sewing (even if some days I really regretted taking them 😂): an outfit for the character Regina from Once upon a time and a cosplay doll-sized of Zhongli from Genshin Impact.

To have fun and stop thinking constantly about school and sewing my boyfriend took me on some cute destinations near Milan during the weekends.

I also bought some new fashion design books for my collection even if I knew that I didn’t have the time to enjoy them 😩

JUNE

Halfway through the year! And it was the most rough month of them all! The Fashion Show was forthcoming and I worked really hard to make sure that all the dresses made by my girls were done: some parts I needed to make them myself as the girls picked a lot of materials really hard to sewn with their abilities (and with the school equipment) I worked so hard that I cannot make till the end…I was having troubles breathing since May but I didn’t had the time to properly take care of myself nor to stop working so hard (as I always do 😩) and the result was a very bad bronchopneumonia that haunted me until the end of the year! (I am not still fully recovered as I am writing this 😔)

I had to take few weeks off of school and I missed all the last days and the Fashion show I worked so hard for! I was so upset but I didn’t have the strength even to be mad at myself because I really couldn’t get off my bed for weeks 😭 but luckily some days before feeling so ill we had the chance to see the Cirque du Soleil, one of the most beautiful show we ever seen 😍

To take my mind off my bad health during the days I was forced at home I started to draw again with Procreate and continued some diamond Painting. To change a bit my routine we also take a little trip to a very beautiful valley to breath some clean air.

Some days I had enough strength to sew a bit so I finished Regina and the Pokémon trainer cosplays. I still haven’t had the time to continue working of the Genshin Impact doll.

This first half of the year was so full of events even if I feel I didn’t accomplished much this year! I sew very few commissions and also very few items for my dolls; I didn’t arrange my sewing room at all as I was thinking at the beginning of the year, I didn’t open my dolls shop nor started the Youtube channel as I would have liked…and better to not talk about my health at all! Looking back to the new year resolutions I wrote last year I was miserably failing across the board 😩

But think this post is already too long for one single entry so I will split the year in two posts like I did last year! Thanks to everyone that arrived till here 😂
