erase me
Don't answer me I'm calling just to hear you scream And you're fading But he feels like you in between
It was all about grief.
Not that I wanted to admit that.
I wanted to believe that this was just me changing as time went on. It had nothing to do with anything else around me. I was just growing. Exploring.
After Jason's death, my decline was fast.
At first, I was isolating. I hid away from the entire group. I only trained on my own. I spent most of my day curled up in my room. Someone would try to stop by, usually Gar trying to get me to eat. Sometimes it was Dick trying to get me to just walk around the tower for a little while or just talk to him.
After a while, I started forcing myself out of the tower. I would go out and find the best place to hide in. Anywhere with loud music and flashing lights and too many people that I could spend just a bit of time devoting my time and energy to. I would overwhelm my senses just to shut off my thoughts for a few hours.
I called that growing. Getting better. Moving through the grief.
No one agreed with me.
I was tired of the worried looks. I just ignored them.
Every night, I would come back to see Dick waiting up for me. I would ignore him, going back to hide in my room before he could lecture me.
I wasn't blind.
I knew when I felt someone watching me.
I ignored it for a while. But when I caught sight of someone on the roof of a building, I knew that I couldn't avoid an inevitable confrontation.
I sighed, turning into an alley. I jumped up onto a fire escape and climbed up.
The figure was still on the roof, looking around the street frantically. I almost chuckled. They'd lost sight of me.
"Who the hell are you," I called. The figure froze, their back still facing me. "Who the hell are you and why have you been watching me?"
I stepped forward, ready to pick a fight if I needed to.
And then, the figure turned around.
Jason.
I stepped back immediately. I shook my head, convincing myself that I had been imagining things. That was it. I had finally lost it. I would have to tell Dick that he was right. I needed help.
"You can't be real," I mumbled, more to myself than Jason.
"(Y/n)-"
"Don't," I snapped. "Don't say that. You... You died. I watched you. You can't... I've gone crazy."
I went to walk away, wanting nothing more than to just run home.
"(Y/n)," Jason stepped closer to me, grabbing my wrist before I could walk away.
I stared down at his hand. I didn't know if I should've pulled away or stayed or yelled or just... anything.
"I wanted to know you were okay," he admitted.
I pushed him back. "I... I have spent so long grieving you. So long. I... How are you... Why..."
Jason stepped forward again. I hit his chest.
"I tried so fucking hard to distract myself!" I shouted. "To forget you for just a little bit and then you just show up again. And you weren't even gonna talk to me? You were just going to watch me from the roof? Seriously?"
"I was scared of this exact reaction!" he yelled back. "You think it didn't kill me? I watched you do this shit every fucking night! It fucking hurt! Watching the person that you love kiss and touch and..."
He trailed off for a moment like the last word would hurt him. I couldn't blame him.
"I just wanted to forget," I mumbled. "Just for a minute."
I looked down for a moment.
"We...," I shook my head and looked back at him. "We need to go tell the others. Dick and Gar- God, Gar's gonna be so happy to see you-"
"I can't."
I felt my heart drop. "What?"
"You can't tell anyone about me."
"Jason..."
He leaned in and kissed me. I almost fell apart. Right in that moment. It had been so long... too long.
He leaned away again.
"Don't tell anyone you saw me," he repeated. "Please."
"Promise me that you're real first," I muttered. "I'll... I'll do anything, but please... just promise me."
"I'm real," he replied. "I promise."
I let the words sink in for a moment before I kissed him again. I cupped the sides of his face, like that would cause time around us to freeze.
Jason pulled away again. He grinned at me.
"Come back to me," I whispered. "Soon."
He nodded. "Sooner than you think, I promise."
I stepped away fully. I waved to him as I made it back to the fire escape.
When I made it home that night, Dick was waiting up for me.
"We need to talk," he said. Like he did every night.
"Okay," I replied. Instead of ignoring him.
He looked shocked at my response.
"I'm ready to talk."
No need to avoid... no need to forget.
an ego thing
Ooh-oh, I was trying to be honest If this is what I get, I won't be honest anymore Oh, if this is what I get I swear I won't be honest anymore
Jason was getting cabin fever.
There was no doubt about that.
After we had all spent so long in the Titan tower doing nothing but training, we all were getting to that point.
But Jason... Jason seemed to miss the violence more than he missed helping people. It was alarming. I knew that he missed being Robin. He missed working with Batman. He missed wearing a mask. But I didn't want him to jump back into that work if all he missed was the ability to do whatever he wanted with little consequence.
I just never wanted him to feel like I didn't support him. Or that I was attacking him.
We were on the couch. My head was resting on his leg. I was listening to him rant about the subject again. I was listening, trying to truly process every word. I just wanted to help him.
"Is it really that bad that I want to actually kick some ass after I've spent months stuck in here training?" he rambled. "I just want to get back to what I'm good at."
I took a deep breath. "Can I... Can I say something?"
He looked down at me and nodded.
"Do you think maybe just wanting to go kick ass is what's making Dick and Bruce hesitant to put you back out there," I asked.
"What?" his eyebrows scrunched up.
"I just... I wonder if they're hoping all the work will help you see your work as more about helping and saving people than you do getting to kick people's asses."
I pushed myself to sit up and turn to him.
He didn't speak up for a moment. I instantly felt like I had gone too far. I reached out and touched his arm, trying to get some response out of him.
"Jason," I said. "I... I just think that you got a little carried away in Gotham. Focused more on the violence than the protection. I want to see you focus on something productive. Surely, you've seen enough people use violence for fun to know that it's not healthy."
"You're really gonna compare me to those guys," he asked.
"No, no, not at all," I shook my head. "I'm saying that there getting caught in that mindset can be harmful."
"But you're saying I'm already there."
"I'm saying you can change it and be better," I explained. "A lot of the guys that you've faced are too far gone."
"How long I have then?" he stood up, raising his voice.
I was already confused about how we got to this point, but I felt like I was too far down this road to back down. I needed to make my point known.
Jason didn't wait for a response. "Go on, tell me."
"I didn't say that you were going to end up like that," I shook my head. I stood up, planning on comforting him. "I... I'm trying to help, Jason-"
"No, you just want to be able to say you tried," he snapped, stepping away from me. "You wanna be able to brag that you tried to save me before I was 'too far gone', right?"
He started walking away like I wasn't going to be able to respond to him.
"I don't fucking want any of that," I said. He kept walking. "Jason! You can't just storm away when you don't like my answer!"
He didn't even react. He just kept walking.
Once he was out of sight, I sighed and sat back down on the couch. I ran my hands over my face.
In my heart, I knew I was right. I knew that I had made a good point.
Maybe that's why I held my ground so firmly.
Why I didn't follow after him when I absolutely should have.
Pancakes for Dinner
I'll try to hide the way I feel But I'll just wanna shout What do I have to lose right now?
"Where's Jason," I asked as I stormed into the Batcave.
At first, I only saw two people. Two men just standing there. Bruce Wayne and some guy that I didn't recognize.
"Who the hell are you," Bruce asked, turning to face me.
I saw Jason sitting behind him. I ignored Bruce, walking forward to stand next to Jason. The other man seemed to be checking on something.
"(Y/n)," Jason grinned at me from behind his Robin mask. "How'd you find this place?"
"Followed you one night," I answered quickly. "Are you okay?"
"Who is this," Bruce asked again. I waved him off.
"I'm okay, just a rough night," Jason explained. "This is (Y/n)! We're old friends!"
Friends. Yeah. Just old friends.
That's why I snuck into the secret hideout of a billionaire that's secretly a vigilante.
Just friends.
"That's Bruce," Jason continued to me. "And this is Alfred."
"Hi," I awkwardly greeted.
I stood next to Jason silently as Alfred explained that Jason needed to take it easy for a little while. Alfred walked out after that. Bruce looked between the two of us. He almost seemed to glare at me before he turned around and walked out.
"He's a ray of sunshine," I mumbled, leaning against the desk.
"He's doing his job," Jason replied. "You did just break into his secret base."
"He should've thought about something like that happening before he took you in."
"How'd you know I got hurt," he asked, ignoring my comment.
"I keep up," I explained. "You're my best friend, Jason. I worry about you."
I saw some look cross his face for a moment. One that I imagine crossed my face when Jason called us old friends. Disappointment.
I paused.
I had to be imagining things.
Jason looked away from me, turning to look toward the door of the hideout more than anything.
"Jason," I said.
The impulsive part of my brain was beating the logical part. The logical part didn't even know it was in a fight.
He looked back at me. The disappointment was gone, but that didn't seem to stop me.
I stepped closer to him.
I took a deep breath before leaning down and pressing my lips to his. I was ready to run. Turn and run and probably vomit.
But then, he kissed me back. He sat up a bit, cupped the back of my head, and kissed me back. It was all so... soft. Like we were both nervous that the other would suddenly push the other away.
I pulled away first. "God, I love you."
Jason chuckled, his hand moving from the back of my head to the side of my face. "Took me getting hurt for you to admit that?"
"Didn't hear you rushing to say it," I muttered.
"Maybe I should make up for lost time then," he teased, brushing his lips against mine again.
"Maybe you should," I replied.
He pecked my lips before pulling away enough to mumble to me, "I love you."
He repeated that pattern a few more times as I happily tried to follow his lips in the hopes of getting a longer kiss.
I was ready to spend eternity just like that.

you knew from the moment you awoke in your bed alone, something was off. it wasnt as if anything appeared to be out of place or something drastic had happened when you were asleep but there was something you simply couldnt place, it was just... off. when you lifted your head from being stuffed into a pillow, you noticed that the presence of the man who once slept in your bed was gone. you ignored the pang, however, that struck your heart and brushed it off. you were being ridiculous, you hadnt seriously assumed he would stay the whole night? had you? and after all that, what were you expecting, you and jason hated each other or at least you were supposed to but to think you'd wake to him sleeping soundly next to you was laughable.
with groggy eyes, you slowly rose from the bed and rubbed your face, kneading the soft skin together as your feet hit the ground, allowing what was left of the silky blankets to fall from your skin. your throat felt dry so you opted for a drink.
you realised that it was actually rather late for you to be awake, usually you would be up and ready much before the clock could strike nine but for an odd reason you had managed to sleep in until half past ten, strange, it was almost as if someone had switched off your alarm before you could wake. nonetheless, you ignored the off feeling in your stomach and simply descended down the staircase, ignoring your god awful bed head of hair, just knowing that you looked like nothing other than something that had just swam up from the bottom of the ocean.
you cursed yourself through the hallway, muttering words of insults to yourself, incoherent as you practically hexed your own mind and body, how had you been so obnoxiously stupid to believe the man would stay the night? of course he had only been there in the first place because dick had told him to, perhaps he knew he wouldnt make it back to the manor and so he settled for your bed, you were an idiot to believe anything else. it was hardly as if he would actually-
"morning." eyes snapping up instantly at the sound of another voice, inside your very kitchen. you would be lying if you said you had expected a groggy looking jason todd with his hair tousled and dishevelled, a phone in one hand and toast in the other. suddenly, you stood a little straighter, your hands had moved to your own knotted hair to instantly matt the strands down as best you could as if you truly cared for his opinion on what you had looked like when you first woke, but you did, you cared so much.
"morning." clearing your throat as you moved towards the counter, acting as if you hadnt been utterly shocked to see him there, sitting in one of your own kitchen chairs as he greeted you... politely. there was a furrow to your brow as you popped your own slice of bread into the toaster. you and jason had always spoken, whether it was an argument or a simple conversation with one too many jokes that hit close to home but by all means the man wasnt exactly the nicest person you had ever met and he certainly never spoke politely to you.
but you soon realised, all good things must come to an end eventually you just wished he had lasted a little longer. "So, good sleep, then?" but you knew just by the tone of his voice, he had something on you for he would never have had that smug smirk or that complacent timbre to his voice.
your brows furrowed into a knot, head turning towards him with a confusion stricken face as your toast finally popped from the toaster. "yeah... you?" still baffled to the reasoning for his leer that lay on his pink lips. All while grabbing your toast with two slices of kitchen paper before taking a seat at your kitchen table, across from the man.
"Oh, yeah." his grin only widening but still, you looked at him perplexed. "great sleep, real warm." you nodded suspiciously but nevertheless took a small bite from your toast, it was nothing to worry about probably something along the lines of his normal boasting that he managed to fill almost every conversation with. he was an arrogant man, that much was for sure and it most definitely wouldnt surprise you if he had turned into that same man once more by the time morning came. the man that had been awfully sweet last night was long gone by now. "y'know, it was almost like i had a stuffed animal with me."
and now your heart began to pick up its pace. you were sure that you had hidden all of your secret stuffed animals into the bottom of your wardrobe, you never left them out in fear that your vigilante friends would find them, you were not looking for one of them to start on you for you were sure dick grayson would never let you hear the end of it, your awfully large stuffed toy collection. "uhm." your breath caught in your throat. "what do you mean, jason?" a fake thin lipped smile as if to prove your innocence that had not yet been found guilty, or so you hoped.
"well, to put it like-" then he stopped, scratching the bottom of his chin and glancing upwards, thinking. "let me just show you." your eyes went wide though they dialed down a little when you saw him pulling out his phone and not one of your giant teddy bears. when finally you were met with his screen, you shifted in your chair to get a closer look. craning your neck up, lightly pushing your body forward but as soon as your eyes fell on the picture on the screen, you were sure that your heart quite literally dropped to your ass.
with wide eyes you stared forward at a photograph that you could only assume had been taking a couple of minutes ago, maybe an hour or so. your head, laid on the mans chest as if you truly were a stuffed animal, clinging to him as if desperate for heat. his arm was draped across you too but you paid no mind to that and instead tried to fight the instant pink that rushed up to your cheeks. "so what do you think? should i pursue photography?"
"jason you can't show that to anyone." believe it or not your reputation was indefinitely worth more than a picture of you cuddling into your supposedly sworn enemy but you couldn't help but feel the anxiety begin to build up. "please delete it."
he placed his phone on the table, his head slightly falling to the side. "what will you give me if i do?" and suddenly you found it hard to breathe. it wasnt the photograph that had made your knees feel so wobbly or your head feel so dizzy but instead at the way the man had managed to look at you, as if awaiting your answer, as if you had one.
his eyes never strayed from yours, locked together like one and it had your head gears turning in all directions. what was he hinting at? and why did he do it with such a look on his face that made you feel so utterly powerless. and why had you loved the feeling of weakness under the mans stare?
before you could so much as part your lips to respond, you were, thankfully, cut off by the door opening and closing. your head snapped back to see what it was, thankful to any lord that was watching now for if you hadn't been interrupted, you weren't too sure what you would have done. "hey, guys." never in your life had you ever been so thankful to see dick grayson in the flesh.
"hi." a smile falling on your lips yet even so you couldn't push away the worry that jason had that god awful picture on his phone and how he was ready to share it to the whole world, and how on earth could you stop him? the feeling set in at the pit of your stomach, the realisation of what you had done, cuddling into him in your sleep, the mere thought made you want to hide under a rock and never come back again. it was either that or hitting your head against the table right in front of you and you didn't exactly wish to cause a scene.
"he wasnt too bad was he?" ruffling his younger brothers hair as if he were a parent collecting their child from a babysitter. jason wore a scowl, pushing the mans hand off of his head but nevertheless dick only shovelled some of the other mans toast into his mouth.
"i never am." he protested with the same scowl still sitting on his face, watching his older brother steal his food.
you watched dick let out a playfull scoff but nonetheless sent him a reassuring smile, as if you weren't on the verge of hitting him already. dick gave you the same thin lipped smile, happy that you too had agreed with his statement even if he didn't. "thanks again, y/n/n, appreciate it." but jason no longer wore any expression at all, his teasing smirk long gone and his scowl slightly softened as he watched dick and you speak, old friends that looked to be so much more. for the first time in almost forever, jason was quiet. dumbstruck.
"not a problem, really." a small beam on your face, attempting to make it look like jason hadn't truly annoyed every last bone in your body with your last conversation. eyes adverted from him but his never left your face, travelling from your forehead through the slope of your nose down to your chin and over and over again, as if every time he were discovering something new.
"well, can you still let me take you out for coffee for a thanks?" jasons eyes squinted and his brows furrowed, head turning up at dick who didn't so much as look his way. was he seriously flirting with you right now? in front of his little brother? and for some odd reason jason felt sick to his stomach. he wasn't quite sure what it was that made his heart fall to his knees but before anyone could say another word he was grabbing his phone and making his way out of the apartment. your eyes travelled across the room along with his figure, a furrow to your brows as he all but stormed out of the flat, ignoring the pair of burning eyes on him though he made sure to slam the door on the way out. you turned back to his brother, confused. "don't worry about him, he'll be fine." but that did nothing to soothe your worries. "so... about that coffee?"
it took you not only a minute to accept his offer for going to get coffee, it wasnt as if you liked the beverage but that wouldn't be a problem, you'd simply buy something like a sprite or a fanta and that was exactly what you did. so while you and dick had made your way towards a table, you spoke about every day things all while taking sips from your fizzed drink while he blew his coffee, then taking sips. you knew he was a little too addicted but he'd never compete to tim drake, that boy simply lived off the beverage though you were not too sure that was great for his health neither his physical or his mental.
"whatcha thinkin'?" his voice in a playful tone but nonetheless he had a hint of seriousness in it, he always used jokes and sarcasm to get into peoples heads. this was no unusual for either of you, two friends getting drinks together, as always though every time an old woman would pass you for a couple you always winced as he instantly came to defend the fact that you were siblings, even though you were not but he needed some sort of an excuse otherwise you'd be there for days listening to the old women.
your chin came to rest on the palm of your hand. "the way jason stormed out earlier, i wonder if he's okay." you spoke in a low voice. jason had always had his outbursts and while sometimes it left you rolling your eyes, annoyed at the fact he was getting annoyed at everyone else for something so small, you always still felt a pang of guilt, like there was something you should have done, should have said and by the way he stormed out of your apartment that day, he surely didn't look to be too happy.
dick sighed, looking towards you with a serious expression etched to his features. "y/n/n, trust me, he's fine. he has these tantrums all the time for no reason, you know jason every little thing pisses him off, he was probably just bummed that i didn't ask him for coffee instead." you nodded with a small sigh. it made sense, for jason to be angry about something so utterly little but you were still worried for him, you wanted to call him, make sure he was alright but you knew better, after all, you were still supposed to hate him, one night in the crazy l/n apartment wasn't bound to change that. "can i ask you something? and i want you to answer honestly?"
dreaded questions that left your stomach swirling, something you certainly weren't ready for right now but nevertheless you nodded your head with a small quirk to your lips. "of course." he could talk to you about anything, you'd always be honest with him but by the seriousness in his voice, you were sure to regret your decision.
"do you have feelings for my brother?"
your eyes buldged from your head. "look, dick, tim is great, i mean it, lovely guy but seriously, i cant-"
"not tim." rolling his eyes as if you were stupid now your eyes only widened further.
"well that's just inappropriate!" you exclaimed with nothing less than an astonished look on your face. "damian is twelve." you hissed at the man to which he face palmed.
"i'm not talking about damian, either." you settled back in your seat slightly, now finding it a little awkward that you had thought dick was assuming you to like damian. he was great, really funny when he wanted to be but by no means did that mean you liked him. "come on, y/n/n, it's like im sitting here with a bag of popcorn waiting for you and jason to kiss already!"
watching him with saucer eyes and awestruck, you closed your mouth, only for it to part open once more. "dick me and jason- we hate each other!" you hated him when you met him because he hated you when he had met you, it was one sided surely but soon it turned to be a mutual hate that kept both of you on your toes and you certainly didn't need it any other way.
his eyes rolled instantly at your words. "say the word hate all you want but we both know it's not true." you didn't respond to that, aggressively sipping the drink in your hands as your eyes left his, glaring down at the table as if it were jasons face. "i've got a pair of eyes, you know, I see the way you look for eachother in a room, that nose scrunch you make when he talks."
this time your mouth formed a sort of pout. "I do not!" you protested though sinking back into your chair. "do you think he hates me?" a tilt of your head and a crane of your neck. you wouldn't admit to your longing for some sort of attention from the man but you couldn't help but ask. your sworn enemy, the man in which you were supposed to despise with every being in you, yet you found yourself anxious pondering the thought if he had such feelings for you.
dick sat up a little straighter, placing the coffee cup on the table. "jason's not exactly happy go lucky, we know this." giving you a pointed look from across the table. "but he doesn't hate everything in the world, believe it or not. he hates the joker, he hates himself and i'm pretty sure he hates anyone that takes up too much room but he doesn't hate you. in fact, the little bickers that you guys have, the sarcastic.... squabbles, it just makes him like you more." your brows knotted together as you pushed your fingers against the others, fiddling. "he likes that you fight back, he likes that you don't take offence to everything he says because god knows he's not the sweetest of the bunch."
a sigh passed your lips. "how do you know all this?" you knew the relationship between dick and jason but by the way dick was speaking it was as if he were in his head.
"y/n/n everyone knows how jason feels about you, we also know how you feel about him. oh, by the way, tim and i kind of have this bet going so if you could ask out jay first that would be great because i really want that ten bucks."
now your brows furrowed together in fake offence. "i'm only worth ten bucks?!" crossing your arms in an annoyed manner.
"no, i'm just poor." he fawned sadness before letting out a chuckle as you giggled yourself, you both knew he wasn't poor, the son of gothams infamous billionare. his eyes glanced down to the watch on his wrist. "i gotta get back to the manor, you coming?"
now it was time to stutter in your movements, juttering as you looked down at your phones time, contemplating the offer. "i don't think i should." after the conversation about a certain member of the family, you didn't think it would be best to be around him despite your growing worry for how he had stomped out this morning.
he groaned. "come on, y/n/n, you won't even see him, promise." but a part of you was hoping you would, that ounce that jerked every time his name was mentioned and every time your eyes caught his own. "besides, tim is dying to see you."
you didn't need telling twice. "tim's back?!" but you were already getting up from the seat, your coat clutched between your fingers in excitement of seeing your favourite batboy, not that you'd ever admit such a thing to dick grayson.
it didn't take long until the awaited manor was in front of you and it certainly didn't take long for tim to come dashing out of the house to see your face. in no time you were sat in the game room, a chess game sat in front of you and damian across from it, dick grayson laid sprawled across the couch that you had your back against and of course tim was watching the chess game from the sidelines, cautious to catch out any cheaters.
you werent a batkid and truthfully you didn't think you wanted to be, the hardship was something no one could endure you still werrent too sure how they pulled it off but you would be lying if you said there was a place you felt more comfortable in rather than where you were now, surrounded by your favourite people in the world. it was as if you were home, not just in the walls of your apartment but home, not many people truly understood that feeling.
"checkmate." and as soon as the words left the twelve year olds lips three groans were heard. you had lost the game once more, groaning as your head hit the back of the chair, dick flaring his arms up and tim studying the board as if he had missed something. damian had managed to win every single game you had played, it was truly becoming unfair but you didn't miss the tinge of a smile when he saw all of your disappointed faces.
"how?!" tim cried as his hands went straight to his hair, pulling on his long locks.
"you're too good at this game." dick commented as he plucked the cuison from the chair he was sitting on tossing it across the room but of course damian had dodged it with ease.
"or maybe i just suck." you spoke with a soft bite of your bottom lip, you too studying the board. how had he won so many times? and how had you let him? you were supposed to be the good one at this game though you knew ultimately the only one in the whole of the bruce wayne manor that could beat you truly was damian wayne and no one could beat him. "i'm going to the bathroom, don't kill each other while i'm gone."
"you better win next round!" you were only able to dodge the pillow coming towards your head thrown by dick grayson right before you ducked through the door, he was always the one with the post rage when it came to these games. he thought competitively, tim thought logically, damian thought in many ways though you only ever thought in the sense that would you could have the most fun possible, you created that for everyone around you.
you giggled to yourself as you walked down the hallways you had known off by heart, they were the place you spent most of your time if not in a room of the manor, come to think of it you were sure you had spent much more time here than you did your own appartment. the hallways were quiet as usual, it was a god awfully huge manor.
to say you were caught off guard by a quick yank of your wrist was an understatement.
you felt fingers capture the skin of your wrist, enclosing over you before instantly snatching you from your place in the hallway and instead into a room, you didn't get to so much as look at where you were before your back was hit against the wall, eyes going wide as your mouth parted. eyes instantly darting up, they came in contact with brown curls you'd recognise anywhere and that chiseled jaw and nose that could only belong to one man. "jason? what the hell? you scared me half to death!" attempting to free your wrists from his hold but when he didn't allow you to move, you glared up at him.
"do you have feelings for my brother?" your jaw went slack, was he serious? this was the second time you'd been asked such a question today and you were nearly as shocked as you were before.
you wanted to protest, to instantly yell no and exclaim, tell him you'd never like dick like that, that he was just a friend and it would continue to be that way until the day you died but something inside you told you not to, to play along, to find out if this was the real reason he stormed out of your apartment that morning. to find out if he shared the bundle of feelings buried deep inside you. "so what if i do?" you saw the way his face fell, the way his brows softened and his grip on you slightly loosened. "what's it to you? it's not like you've ever cared about me before." though you knew, it was a lie. when you were hurt, so was he, when you had invited him into your bed you felt... at ease, so he had to care even if it was just for a moment in his life.
"you're a fucking idiot, y/n." he seethed and watched as your brows furrowed together in hurt, then to anger, who was he to speak to you like that? he had no interest in you before but now that you had gotten seemingly closer to his elder brother, he was all over the fact and for the first time in his life, brought you into his room.
"and what are you, then?" anger thick in your voice. "what were you thinking would happen when you drag me into your room and then accuse me of being in love with, excuse me, dick grayson." you often bickered but there was something about your tone of voice, he never truly shut up in an argument but this time, he couldn't find words. "you're the idiot because you can't put behind your own stupid wall you've built to keep everyone out to realise that i don't like dick- i like you!" when you said it, you finally realised just what you had admitted to. but even then, you didn't falter, you didn't move your eyes from his own. you took in his shocked face, the way everything softened above you but you didn't stop. "and the fact that you had to second guess it says everything. do you think i'd let someone i hate into my bed for the night? do you think i'd care when you get hurt if i hated you? you're the idiot because i've been in love with you since i met you and you always acted like you hated me when i did nothing wrong!"
and then came silence.
that eerie silence that had you wishing you had never opened your mouth, you realised that his hands had fallen from your wrists, you could leave, he was practically shoving you out the door, really for if he wanted you to stay, he would have made that happen. you felt stupid, how could you admit something so utterly stupid to the one man you were supposed to hate the most but you didn't hate him, you always knew that. you were told that he was mean, rude, and incredibly dangerous, you shouldn't be around him so why had you felt so pulled to him in the first place? that was the thing about love, it always seemed to happen with the people you didn't want it to, the people you especially couldn't.
"i have to get back." a low mumble that had created so much nose in the nearly deafened room. you moved yourself from the wall, attempting to get away when suddenly, the breath was knocked from your lungs.
your back fell against the wall once more, but this time the man wasn't towering over you but instead his lips were on yours.
they were soft, smooth, something you never would have guessed with the roughed man though his calloused hands had made it to the side of your face, one on each cheek. he had kissed you. you always knew there would be a day where you couldn't deny that you didn't hate him but you had never thought he'd actually kiss you. the kiss wasn't rough and certainly wasn't too much but it was just right. the man, the dangerous, scary man, was being so soft and gentle you almost forgot it was him. his hands kept your face in place while his lips moved against your own so slowly. your own hands travelled up, behind his neck was where you settled for though you couldn't deny the excitement bubbling inside your chest, the sparks that flew just like in all of the love stories you had read. here you were, with your sworn enemy, kissing him.
you only parted for air for you were sure that if you went on any longer, you may actually loose your breath. your eyes travelled up once more, to see the man's face, you wondered if he'd be angry, if it would all go away when morning came. you were worried that something so sweet could turn so evil. a part of you expected him to be gone, as if it were all in your dreams but instead, the man stood in front of you, his hand still grazing your cheek.
"I've waited a long time for that, sweetheart."

(A/N: I don't know why I didn't do this sooner because I love this boy so much and he made season 3 🥺️) also this is pretty long, like 2.1k words long, so enjoy 😁)
。ₓ ू ₒ ु Jason Todd Dating Hcs ू ₒ ु ₓ。
Tumblr media
♡ₓ This is gonna be a long one 😂 Jason may seem like a cocky, playful kickass teenager, but inside, he’s a little broken up and just needs a hug 🥺
♡ₓ You either met him as a new Titan, picked out and taken back to the tower with Dick, or someone that Jason saved as Robin. He won’t tell you yet, but you are honestly the most beautiful person he’s ever seen… and stumbles over his words when you’re introduced.
♡ₓ You become really great friends - or so you think, not quite noticing the lingering looks and smiles he gives you like the rest of the Titans do. Jason’s pretty protective and defensive of his friends, and seeing as the rest of the Titans aren’t super friendly with him, he doesn’t make as much of an effort with them as he does with you.
♡ₓ Which leads to him getting annoyed when they try to befriend you too and take you away from conversations you were having with him. If you’re a Titan and there’s a dangerous mission Dick wants you to go out on, Jason won’t let you leave unless he can come to. He knows full well you can defend yourself, but he doesn’t want to lose you like he’s lost others in the past.
♡ₓ When Robin fell from that rooftop, somehow you managed to catch Superboy’s attention and make sure he didn’t die. Jason could only watch, still stunned by the fall and now by you, as you check he’s not hurt and ask if he’s okay. He’s not used to anyone caring that much, and so he can only nod and hug you as a response. It’s all he needs to know for sure that he’s absolutely in love.
♡ₓ After that, the PTSD and bad thoughts really started getting to him, and you were the only one who could pick up on that and try to help. I mean, you've seen the series, the rest of the Titans are either pretty oblivious or don't deal with it well at all *cough*dick*cough*
♡ₓ So quiet times, just sitting and listening to music, or working out in the training room - where he took every opportunity to show off and try to catch your attention - helped him drown out the poison, as he calls it. Jason tries to be and is a lot more open when it's just you and him than the others, and immediately gets defensive when Dick attempts to ask if he's okay.
♡ₓ When he was getting singled out and blamed for the crosses on Rachel’s mirror and the rest of the chaos in the tower, you were the only one to try to stand up for him and pointed out to Dick that he’d run off. It meant so much to him, seeing you carefully make your way to the edge of the roof and look up at him with pleading eyes. Jason has never felt that wanted before, which is the main reason he got down, and held back choking sobs when you gave him the tightest hug ever. ‘He’d keep trying, for you,’ that’s what he’d told himself.
♡ₓ One of the best memories you had of him before you managed to get separated was when Jason showed how much he trusted you by taking you to the high school where he watched the play they did and admitted his love for theatre. You didn't tease or mock him at all, which was a huge relief but expected from you anyway, and right then and there, he wanted to tell you everything. About how you're a thought that makes him want to keep going every day and how he wishes he could hug you a little longer than your friendly ones. But Jason can't make the words come out of his mouth then but can pretend as much as he wants as you walk back with his arm around your shoulder, you not knowing any better.
♡ₓ I'd like to stress that he hasn't said all of this yet, because he won't stop later on, I promise 🥰️
♡ₓ But near the time of Donna's funeral and Rachel leaving the city, you somehow get split up because of carrying on Titan work with Nightwing while Jason needs to talk to Bruce and do some stuff back in Gotham. Even so, you still receive plenty of texts from him, checking up on you while you aren't near each other, wanting to hear your voice again and see that heartstopping smile of yours through FaceTime.
♡ₓ Then Robin really comes to an end, because Jason Todd apparently dies at the hands of the Joker. His friend Molly tells you (which leads to you becoming great friends if you weren't already), and you're devastated. It slowly but surely starts to click into place for you. Those longing looks from him back at Titans Tower, the way he quickly got protective whenever there was the slightest threat you felt uncomfortable with, warm hugs he'd only give you, shoving off Gar with a questioning look when he jokingly tried to get in with you once. Jason had always been a great, understanding friend, but the thought of you possibly having the opportunity to be something more and missing out on it makes you cry 😢
♡ₓ So when you get a call from Dick telling you about the new Red Hood threat, and how he thinks Jason might still be alive and affiliated with the Scarecrow?? You're terrified for him hanging around with such a dark and dangerous person, but you know in your heart that Jason can't have changed so much, reborn or not, from how you knew him before. Dick isn't convinced, especially after Hank's death, and even though you're just as upset as the rest of the team are at the loss, you feel like Jason must be under some kind of influence, and he'd never do anything like that alone.
♡ₓ When you come with Dick to confront him, Red Hood has everyone in Gotham convinced that he's some sort of hero. When Nightwing has him on the floor with a gun pointed, you run over and pull it out of his hands. The shocked, emotion-flooded expression on Jason's face makes you forget everything for the moment as you go in and give him the tightest hug ever, while Dick tries calming down the crowd around you all. Jason slowly, shakily returns it, a million doubting thoughts rushing through his head. Don't you know what he's done? Can you forgive him that easily? You deserve so much more...
♡ₓ Dick gets shot though, and the situation escalates rapidly. You notice Jason hesitantly retreating into the crowd, not wanting the Scarecrow to get to you, his only weakness. But you manage to grab his arm and give him the same pleading eyes as the ones from the balcony he stood at the edge of all those months ago. You ask him to come back home, to stay with you, that you miss him. At the moment, it's difficult, since Crane hasn't been dealt with yet, but Jason promises that he'll see you again soon before he has to run for it, and you tend to Dick.
♡ₓ When you convince Dick to let Jason help the Titans defeat Scarecrow and make sense of the drugs and being brought back to life, Jason doesn't want to let you out of his sight again. He was terrified that he'd never see you again, that you'd hate him because of all that's happened. He's in mild disbelief as you rest against him in the car while Dick runs you over the plans, but Jason isn't afraid to show he cares in front of people (I'll get to PDA more later 😉) and he delicately runs his gloved fingers through your hair and against your cheek, grounding yourself and him at the same time.
♡ₓ Needless to say, Scarecrow gets his ass rightly kicked, and Bruce comes back with his house wrecked and the city recovering from the attack. When he asks Jason which life is next after he turns down living in Wayne Manor again, he looks over his shoulder at you, with a soft smirk that makes warmth spread throughout your body as he simply says, "one with them."
♡ₓ He's not kidding in the slightest either, because now you're reunited, Jason is pretty clingy and in need of a bit of reassurance from you, but is the best boyfriend ever. Everything he struggled with saying before comes out in a mess when you have your first kiss after leaving the Manor and Dick goes with Rachel to visit Crane in prison. This boy's a complete whipped simp, I do not exaggerate.
♡ₓ Like, if it was the middle of the night and you wanted some random drink or fancied going out to get food or ride his motorbike, sure, he's up, where to? Sleep can wait 😊
♡ₓ With PDA, Jason Todd is not shy, and in public, he's just as loving as he is in private. He has no fears of confrontation too, so god forbid anyone that tries to make a move on you or makes you feel bad. He does get jealous sometimes, but more in the insecure way, not at all in the way of not trusting you. You waste no time in telling him that he's the only boy you want in your life and give him a bear hug, and he'll get over it just like that.
♡ₓ On the subject of cuddling, he can't get enough of it. Whether it's lounging around at home or in bed, Jason will draw them out. Vulnerably if it's just after a nightmare, when you wrap your arms around him sleepily and he cradles you to him protectively. Playfully if it's getting late in the morning and he's not ready to get up yet. Sometimes it's just really randomly when you're doing your own thing, he just sweeps you up off your feet and doesn't put you down until you're laughing ridiculously hard and kicking around helplessly.
♡ₓ I can imagine him being all silly and saying that he "won't let you go, angel, till you tell me you love me more than anything else in this world," and then gets all wide-eyed and soft when you actually say it so earnestly. Jason also loves it when you play with his dark curls, he'll happily rest his head on your chest, playing around with your hands and kissing your fingers absentmindedly as your own fiddle with his locks.
♡ₓ You're the only person that can truly calm him down when he's annoyed with someone that's trying to get to him, or on one of his bad days. If you insist on staying at home with him to watch movies and eat junk and cuddle in bed, just to make him feel better, he will literally cry and mumble endearments into your shoulder. Don't for a second doubt that he won't do the same for you, because it will literally break his heart if he sees you upset. If its a person, Jason will gladly deal with them, but if it's just life, he'll hold you tightly, pressing gentle kisses on your forehead and reminding you that he'll always be there for you 🥲
♡ₓ He's honestly a bit possessive - not in a toxic way though - so seeing you in his hoodies or t-shirts makes him all proud and bashful. Jason compliments you for every little thing, or stares in adoring wonder, maybe if you're just doing a hobby or nothing in particular. Or maybe you're his partner and anti-hero like him, or still a Titan, able to defend yourself and save others so effortlessly.
♡ₓ He also trusts you with his life. If you didn't give him any explanation to do something crazy, Jason would assume it's important and you'll explain when you can, taking your word for anything.
♡ₓ Jason will do anything to make you happy and keep that smile on your face. You've been through so much together, and he doesn't care what he goes through now, as long as you're in on it together.
♡ₓ "You're my whole world, princess. I love you so much..."

It’s been 6 months since Jason left, and everyone has been okay… all except for me. Since the day that Jason left with Rose, only leaving me with a kiss goodbye, I haven’t been much of anything to anyone. I haven’t moved from my bed, and when I do, it’s to use the restroom.
I’m pretty sure that when I lost a bit of weight since the last time I had a well-cooked meal, with my diet only consisting of crackers, ice cream, and whatever juice Gar and Rachel had decided to hide from Dick and his insane health kick. Like, what teenager do you know eating cauliflower mash? Anyways, one of the Titans would show up in my room with a plate of food every now and then, begging me to eat it, but I just ignored them. I never accepted the food, I was too upset to do anything other than wallow for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. They would leave the plate of food on my nightstand, hoping that I could pull myself together enough to eat, but I just left it to sit there for days before someone came to get it.
No matter what I do, I can never get Jason out of my head. Anytime I entered the kitchen, I was reminded of when Jason and I would stay up late and hang out. He would sit on the counter, swinging his legs back and forth, causing them to repeatedly hit the cabinet doors that sat under the countertop while I baked whatever recipe I had seen on YouTube earlier that day. (He was the perfect subject for recipe experiments)
But it wasn’t just rooms inside the tower. Jason seemed to haunt my dreams too. I couldn’t stop dreaming about that night… The night he left me alone. When he abandoned me to go with another girl, leaving me with only a kiss.
Everyone sat around the commons area of Titan’s tower. Thanks to Conner, we were able to get Jason back from Deathstroke, unharmed. And since then, nothing has been the same.
After saving Jason, Deathstroke broke into the tower, placing objects- memorabilia for each Titan to find. For Hank, it was a bottle of bourbon. Rachel had crosses drawn all over her room. Dawn was met with a photo of a friend who had recently died. And Donna received a bottle of orange soda. Specifically, a brand of soda she once shared with a close friend of hers who had also died… a former Titan.
But to make things worse, everyone (except me) blamed Jason for their recent trips from memory lane. This only ended with me coming to Jason's defense. My fellow teammates were shocked at my outburst, all of us failing to realize that Jason was no longer in the room.
Dick soon stormed into the central living area, where all of us stood, and warned us of the true threat. "Hey, where's Jason?" I asked everyone, nervously looking around. My eyes fell on Dick's, giving each other a knowing look, before setting out to look for Jason. We found him on the roof, planning to jump off the rooftop. I tried to stop him, but Dick and his dark secret ended up getting him down from the ledge.
So now, here we all are, listening to Dick explain how he lied to us, his so-called “friends,” for the hundredth time, and everyone was fed up. Upset because of the trust this team had for each other.
I sat next to Jason at the kitchen table, who propped his head against his hand. I lay face down, no longer wanting to be here, forced to listen to friends argue. After earlier, Jason was so disappointed in himself that he couldn’t even look at me. And judging how everyone was earlier, I could only imagine how much everyone would judge Dick for this.
Now, I couldn’t see anything, but I could definitely hear. I heard Rose speak up for the first time since Dick explained everything. “My brother’s dead because of you,” Rose said with a sense of hatred. “I’m out,” she continued before standing up and making her way out of the room.
“I’m going with her,” Jason added, giving me just enough reason to look up. I looked at Jason, feeling my lips tremble as I looked up at the boy. He turned away from Dick, looking at me with an emotionless expression, but his eyes said everything. “Come with us,” He whispered, holding his hand out. I hesitated. When I didn’t take his hand, Jason took it as a sign of rejection, giving me a sad smile before leaning down and kissing my lips. My eyes closed, trying my best to hold in all the tears I wanted to release as I heard the sound of his steps disappear into the next room.
I felt everyone's eyes, watching me as I slowly began to break down. My cheeks grew warm and were about as red as a cherry. My eyes flooded with tears as they fluttered open. My eyes were focused on the door where Rose and Jason walked out of.
“Jason,” I whispered, finally feeling myself give in to the loss of my boyfriend. My best friend… The love of my life.
And since then, I’ve never been the same. Every time I fell asleep, that memory haunted my dreams, and there was no escape. I wake up every night sobbing, wishing Jason was here to hold me. And although it hurt, I would sometimes imagine that he was here, comforting me. His warm breath running down the back of my neck, leaving goosebumps, as I clutched onto him, with my head resting on his chest. And it really did help… but not entirely.
Anytime I missed Jason, I called. I sometimes called to see if he’d answer, but it was no luck. And even though I was sent to voicemail, I still left him messages. I hoped he listened to them and felt just as bad as I do right now, but there was no way of telling.
Sometimes, the thought of him and Rose would enter my mind, making me even more depressed than I already was. “Does he love her more than me? Is that why he left?” Those questions ran through my mind almost 24/7, but deep down, I knew why he had left.
Feeling the urge to move out of bed, I slowly got up, making a few loud grunts and groans from the relief of being in bed all day. I went into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. “Damn, I look rough,” I whispered as I rubbed my fingers against my sunken eyes. Seeing how thin my cheeks seemed, I had lost more than a couple of pounds. I looked half dead if you asked me.
With an exhausted sigh, I walked out of my room and stopped. Something strange in the atmosphere told me to go back to bed, but I didn’t listen. Instead, I walked to the kitchen, only to be stopped by the sound of Kory. It sounded like she was talking to someone. I walked to the end of the hall, which connected to the common area, where everyone once hung out, and I peered into the room. I saw Dick and Kory sitting at the counter with sad expressions, telling me something terrible had happened.
“What am I going to do? I don’t know how to tell her,” I heard Dick say as he looked away from Kory. He rested his head on his arm, much like Jason did before he left that day. I watched as Kory leaned back in her seat, taking Dick’s words in.
When he was done speaking, Kory began to speak. “She needs to know, Dick. She hasn’t been out of this tower in 6 months because of Jason… I hate to say it, but he broke her, and now she’s slowly killing herself the more she stays in that room,” Kory told Dick.
“I know, Kory. But how do you tell someone who can barely eat that her boyfriend was reckless and impulsive and killed himself? Wouldn't that just make it worse?”
Listening to Dick and Kory’s words, I soon realized that they were speaking about Jason. I watched Kory sadly place her hand down on Dick’s leg. Suddenly it became hard to breathe as I also realize that they weren’t just talking about Jason. They were talking about telling me that Jason was dead. I felt my body slam into the wall, making a loud enough sound to get the attention of the two adults.
Dick and Kory ran over to me as I slid down the wall, clutching my chest, where my heart rests. Ugly cries exited my body as I thought of Jason being dead. Dick grabbed me, holding me in his arms as I cried in his chest. He rested his chin on top of mine and slowly rubbed my back.
“Jason," I cried. Dick’s arms hold me tighter.
I couldn’t believe it. Jason Todd was dead. I always knew his abilities would get to his head, and that’s exactly what he did. He was cocky, and believed that he didn’t need help… that he could fight the fight by himself. And that’s what killed him. Now, I didn’t know how he died exactly, but I knew teenagers don’t just drop dead. Especially not Bruce Wayne’s kids. But, I also knew that there was a possibility that if I had accepted Jason’s offer that day, that none of this would have happened.
“I know. It hurts. Cry it out. Cry it out,” Dick muttered into my ear. Kory sadly watched the two of us as we held onto each other.
“I could have saved him,” I whispered.
“No,” Dick said sternly, pulling away from the hug. “What Jason did was on him. You probably would have had no idea what was going on, no matter if you were there or not… much like the Deathstroke thing,” he said, looking me in my eyes.
My eyes narrowed as I felt a rush of anger flow through me. “Jason only went out to fight Dr. Light 1. Because you and the “O.G. Titans” couldn’t beat him. And 2. Jason only wanted to prove to you and Bruce that he knew what he was doing. None of you ever gave him a chance,” I scowled.
“Jason did get chances to prove himself,” Dick said, making me even angrier. “And everytime, he proved that he was still reckless, still impulsive, and still full of rage. There is a reason Bruce sent him here. And when he left and went to fight Joker on his own, he was still the same Jason we all know. And that right there- that’s what got him killed,” Dick said.
The Joker ran through my head as I tried to take in everything he told me. I remember running through the streets of Gotham, hearing the name Joker, and every single bad thing he had done. How gruesome he left his victims. I could only imagine what Jason went through in the time before his death, but I knew what ran through my mind wouldn’t do the real thing justice.
But it wasn’t just Joker running through my mind. It was also the fact that the people who didn’t give Jason a chance believed that they knew him… but they didn’t. They didn’t know the true Jason Todd. The Jason Todd I knew was kind. When it was just me and him, he didn’t want to punch a wall. We would have movie nights almost everynight back at Wayne manor. I remember sneaking into his window to see his slightly messy room, and how we would cuddle in his bed, and we would just talk about everything during the movie. Sure Jason was everything Dick described, but he was also so much more. I just wished everyone else could have seen that.
“You’re wrong.” That’s all I said before pulling out of Dick’s arms indefidently, and standing up to leave. I could hear as Dick shuffled to get up and run after me, but I think Kory stopped him, because all I heard was a quiet, “She’s grieving. Let her process this on her own, for awhile.” And with that I was out of their line of sight.
I made my way back to my room, where all the anger and sadness I had once felt released out of me. I screamed as loud as I could as I fell to my knees. I felt the energy shift, like something new had awakened in me. My chest heaved as I began to cry harder than how I was earlier. I faced the ceiling and opened my eyes. Expecting a white ceiling to appear, I found loose objects floating in mid air.
“What is happening?” I whispered to myself. And suddenly everything fell. I looked down at my hands as a blue mist escaped my hands. I slammed my hands to the ground, making everything around me shake. I heard multiple sounds of feet slamming against the floor as the remaining Titans met up outside my door. Small murmurs appeared, but i ignored them.
I let out a small sniffle before making my way over to my bed, and climbing in, and laying down as if I never got up in the first place. I slammed my eyes shut, trying to imagine that this was all a dream, but then a small knock at my door appeared. I faced the wall as I heard the sound of my door opening before slowly shutting. I heard the sounds of a pair of shoes against the hard wood of my floors. I felt a dip in my bed, next to where my legs laid, causing me to open my eyes, but I didn’t face whoever it was.
“I’m sorry,” Dick started. “I guess I really do live up to my name. You know, after losing Donna and now Jason, I realized that I can’t loose you to.”
“Why? Because we all just learned in a span of 2 minutes that I have earthshattering powers?” I asked with a hint of anger.
“No,” He sighed. “I can’t lose you because you are a big part of this team. And I didn’t reealize it until Jason left, and you entered your current state. Both of you were such a big part of this team. You and Jason were a power team all by yourselves, with you as the brain and Jason as the brawn.” He paused, taking a deep breath.
“At first, I hated to admit that Jason was my brother. After losing my parents in the circus, I closed myself off, not even allowing Bruce into my life. But then, after years of being closed off from the world, I eventually opened up. When Donna died, I felt just how you felt. Growing up, she was always like the big sister that knew how to keep me in control. She was my Y/N, and I was her Jason. So I understand your pain, and I want you to come with me, back to Gotham. Just you and me.”
I slowly turned facing Dick, I looked down, not wanting to look him in the eye. I gave the man a slight nod, accepting his offer. And with that, he patted my leg before getting up to leave the room.
“Dick?” I called out ot the man. He peeped his head back into the room, and I continued. “Thank you,” I said with a smile. The first smile in 6 months. Dick gave me a short nod, continueing back to were he was planning on going.
Tumblr media
The trip to Gotham was quiet and also quite tense. This would be my first time back in Gotham without Jason, and knowing that hurt. I could tell Dock wanted to say something about it, but he remained quiet. Instead, Dick kept his eyes on the road and I kept my eyes on the different types of scenery we got with each state we drove through.
So, when we had finally made it to Wayne manor I was desperate to get out of the car. Dick pulled up in front of the entry door, and instead of being met with Alfred like always, we were met with nothing. Jason wasn’t the only person that the Wayne manor had lost. Alfred’s soul also rested in our memories.
Dick and I got out and I was met with the familiar smell of Gotham’s air. I turned to my left where I found a tree. It was the same tree I used to sneak in and out of the manor to see Jason. At least, that was until Alfred found out and convinced Bruce to let me stay with them. He only agreed to let me stay because of his obsessive need to bring in children from off the street. Children in need of a home. It only surprised us that he didn’t adopt a whole orphanage.
I continued to make my way towards the tree where I softly rubbed the rough bark which brings back a sense of nostalgia.
“Hey,” I heard from behind me. I turned to find Dick with both of our bags in his arms. I ran back over to Dick, trying to grab my bag from him, but he only responded with an “I’ve got it,” as he nudged me towards the front door.
Dick knocks at the door before remembering that it was just Bruce here. He gripped the knob and slightly twists, opening the door. I look at Dick with a scoff, “I think he forgets where he lives.” Dick laughed, as we made our way into the large home.
“Okay. You go find your old room, and put your stuff away. I’m gonna find Bruce,” Dick said, handing me my bag. I walked up the stairs feeling the small dents in the wood from where Jason would ride down the steps on his motorbike. I smiled at the memory and continued up the steps.
I walked to my room and stopped right outside the room. I looked across the hall to where Jason used to sleep. Lucky for me, the door was shut. If it wasn’t, I probably would have broke down again. I just turned back towards my room and opened the door. The room was just as I remembered. The walls were still the same pearly white that I remembered. And the bed looked as if it hadn’t been touched since I left. The grey bedding was positioned just as Alfred had done it that morning. I didn’t have much decoration, considering I didn’t have much at the time, and I didn’t really want to be a burden towards Bruce, since he had already done so much for me.
I flopped onto the bed, relishing in the soft sheets I had laid in once before. I stared up at the ceiling as I took a deep breath before closing my eyes. I felt almost at peace with where I was at. The only thing missing was Jason’s presence. But it was enough to put me to sleep.

Marvelling over how Jason Todd in Titans looks exactly like the jason Todd in my head. What.

Note
i know that this is such a random question, but...
for the Titans show, do you think all of the cast for the show fit their characters? or do you think there could've been someone else to play their role?
(tbh I love random questions like this omg. I love any chance to discuss Titans at length)
And genuinely, I wouldn't change any of the casting.
It's actually so interesting, because Titans is the first piece of live action DC media that I have gotten really sentimentally attached to. I was always a bigger fan of DC than Marvel because I always enjoyed the Batman films, and I did watch episodes of the Justice League cartoon in passing, or I watched other random animated Batman movies or Justice League movies and really enjoyed them - and I have always enjoyed how DC has so many different styles and tones across each piece of media, rather than the homogeneous boring schlock that Marvel puts out.
Young Justice was the first piece of DC media in general that I got really, really personally attached to, because @nctzenkane is a huge DC fan (and when we first met, it was one of the first things we ever talked about that made me start falling for him) - and he really sparked my interest in certain things and caused me to convert my casual enjoyment of it to a very hardcore nerdom. And him encouragining me to watch Young Justice was definitely the first step in me becoming a full blown DC nerd.
And he also encouraged me to watch Titans - just because Ryan Potter is hot in it - and it's so funny because Jaycen is not even the biggest Titans fan, but I developed such a distinct emotional attachment to it. So in my mind, all of the actors for those characters in Titans - they just are the live action versions. Whenever I am reading fanfiction of those characters, no matter what version the writing is talking about - I always picture the Titans cast in my head.
I know there has been a lot of (idk how to phrase it) controversy? Around Curran Walters as Jason Todd because people think that he's not bulky enough to be Jason and people think he somehow should have shredded and bulked up to become Red Hood?
Honestly, I am fucking relieved that the show didn't pressure him to make major changes to his body just because in the comic books he magically went from a skinny fifteen year old kid to the hulking body of a 6.4" shredded pro wrestler (for those of you who don't know, I have described it as: The Pit makes comic Jason go from looking like Titans Jericho to looking like Titans Hank in five minutes) - like there is already so many gross unrealistic body standards when it comes to men in superhero roles. There doesn't need to be more
And in terms of emotions, and the actual acting, Curran is literally the best fit for Jason possible in my opinion. He brings so much power and depth to Jason's scenes, he makes the character eager and excitable yet worn and jaded at the same time, and he makes Jason's mental illness and struggles so layered and relatable.
One thing about Titans, is that they have some of the most phenomenal actors ever. They might not have the best special effects, or storylines/writing that makes the most sense - but the actors take the material and elevate it so fucking much.
Ryan Potter brought so much depth to Gar (which is something I could rant about for hours), Brenton balances Dick's hardened outer shell and his tender moments so fucking well, Anna makes Kory such a pensive and thoughtful character beyond being just intensely powerful and 'badass' (not to mention, casting a black woman in that role was a risk with whiny fanboys complaining about POC on screen and I am sure she puts up with way too much bullying and hate because of it), and Tegan was so young when she started as Rachel, but she brought an intensity and professionalism that carried Rachel so well (especially during the first season, where her character was the focus) that not many other young actors could have pulled off.
And that is just the core four - I could also go into how Joshua Orpin balances Conner's anger, inner turmoil, and troubled mind with his naive optimism of seeing the world for the first time so well.
And genuinely, I don't think Hawk and Dove could have been played by anyone else than who was cast.
And not only that, but from what we do see of the behind the scenes, it feels like Titans is a true passion project for all of them, and that's why they put so much care into these characters (even if the writers sometimes neglect the details). I think the actors bring so much to the show.
I think possibly my only 'what if' - would have been Tim Drake being an Asian character as originally planned?
And this is absolutely no hate to Jay Lycurgo, I think he did end up being fantastic in the role. He plays the character wonderfully, balancing Tim's bright optimism, gentle fears/insecurities and heroic confidence well.
But I think a visibly Asian character who is clearly connected to their heritage would have been really great to have on screen, and it would have only added to the amazing array of representation in the show. And as far as Asian actors go, I don't know who I would replace him with. (Especially because I think it's interesting when lesser known/up and coming actors play these roles, and all the ones I can think of are popular from other things, or too old to play this role???)
But I do think that it's really cool how he was also in The Batman, so there could be headcanons of him also being Tim Drake in that universe (which I haven't seen anyone mention?)
But overall, I wouldn't change anything fundamental about the cast of Titans. I think they are amazing and I think they did their job so well. They made the show what it truly is for me. They made it close to my heart.

Dating Jason Todd Would Include...
A/N: I am LOVING me some Jason Todd right now. Season 3 of Titans is so good, and I might start reading some Red Hood comics, especially since he might be getting a spin-off??
Btw I imagine this when he’s still robin, not red hood.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
- first thing’s first, this man is a simp
- when he really likes someone, he doesn’t half-ass anything
- he thinks of himself as a fuck-up and he refuses to let himself ruin you
- which means you don’t know about his alter ego
- and he doesn’t let bruce anywhere near you
- but he’ll make up for those things in other ways
- he’ll go all out on dates
- stealing bruce’s credit card and taking you to the nicest restaurant in gotham
- or (more your guys’ style) sometimes you’ll take late night strolls through the park
- and eat the grossest food truck food you can find
- those are the nights where your laughter is constant
- his favorite nights, where he doesn’t want to go home
- he always thought everyone hated him, that there was just something wrong with him
- so to see you laughing so freely, loving him so freely, and being so happy
- it quite literally changed the way he saw everything
- he thought freedom was Robin? no freedom is loving you
- but he is part of the batfam, so it’s not all sunshine and rainbows
- his PTSD rages, especially at night
- but he never wants to talk about it- the fear, the nightmares
- you feel so in the dark and disconnected to him that it leads to your first fight
- Jason’s pretty impulsive and emotional so he leaves it all on the floor
- he tries to push you away, to tell you that he doesn’t really care about you, that he can’t trust you
- “You know what, just leave... fucking leave!”
- you didn’t talk for a week
- and every second of it Jason was beating himself up for the way he treated you
- he didn’t sleep, he didn’t eat
- he even let bruce hold him as he broke down
- “I told myself that no matter what I did, I wouldn’t hurt her, I wouldn’t fuck this up. But I did, of course I fucking did!”
- the next time he saw you wasn’t exactly ideal
- he got alerted about a bank robbery with multiple hostages and took off in the batmobile
- he definitely didn’t expect you to be there, sitting on the floor all disheveled as duck tape covered your mouth
- at first he froze, he didn’t know what to do
- but as soon as the robber pressed a gun to your head, it was like he exploded
- he beat the guy’s ass so bad he was sent to the ICU
- and when he was done the first thing he did was run over to you to see if you were okay
- the mask may have covered some of his face, but his defining features were still the same
- his fluffy hair, sharp jawline, sad eyes
- he knew the second he knelt down in front of you that you recognized him
- he slowly took of the tape from your mouth and the first thing you said was his name
- you whispered it as you cupped his cheeks
- this boy burst into tears
- “I’m sorry, I-I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean it, I didn’t mean any of it. I was trying to-to keep you out of everything... you deserve so much better than me”
- you pulled him away from all the reporters for some privacy and just held him
- “I know, Jay. I know”
- that was when you guys said your first I love you’s
- after that, and a lot of communication work, your guys’ relationship soars
- you’ll fully go up to him when he’s patrolling in full costume and pretend your a random fan who just needs to get a photo with him
- you have a full folder of hilarious selfies with a crime scene in the background
- and he’ll sneak up on you when you’re walking down the street
- “excuse me, ma’am, puddles can be quite dangerous, let me help you”
- and then when the night comes, and along with it the nightmares, he finally lets you take care of him
- because you made him realize that asking for help isn’t a bad thing, and it doesn’t make him weak
- “thank you, for everything. I love you so much, angel”
- “love you more, Jay”

Hate Is A Strong Word
Pairing: Jason Todd x Reader
Warnings: Cussing, canon typical violence and injuries, Fluff, mild sexual references
Word Count: 2533
Notes: I’m back on my bullshit so here’s another oneshot that I’m considering making a series. Reader is NOT a Wayne, they just work with them. Featuring Red-Hood Jason but make him Robin? (if that makes sense).
Tumblr media
Jason Fucking Todd was going to kill you. The cocky bastard stood in-front of you with his traditional shit-eating grin as he held your suit high above his head.
“Jason, give that here now.” You shouted as you jumped to try to reach it but Jason was much faster and pulled it further out of your reach. Your chest was now touching his and you could feel his breath on your nose hairline. As hot as Jason was, he was a prick so you were not going to let this closeness get to you.
“Not so fast Sweetheart,” He clicked his tongue, “Apologise first and then maybe I’ll consider giving your suit back.”
When people described seeing red you had never understood what they had meant until now. You took a step back, out of his personal space.
“Apologise for what? Interrupting your date with that clout-chasing nobody who just wants to jump your bones because you’re rich? We have a city to save and responsibilities, Jason. Responsibilities that you seem to be forgetting.”
Earlier that evening, you had been tasked with picking Jason up for patrol when he didn’t show up to the Batcave on time. You tracked his phone to an Italian place on the nice side of the city, where you found him cozying up to a blonde girl you had never seen before. You were understandably mad, he had been skipping more and more training sessions and patrols to go on stupid dates like these and you had had enough. So you told him that; very loudly and very explicitly. Long story short, the pair of you had gotten into a screaming match on the street leaving his poor date terrified and running off to catch a cab home - alone.
Eventually, you had managed to get him to return to the Manor to prepare which led you to the situation you were in now.
“And what? Are you jealous that I’m actually getting some whilst your ass is becoming best friends with your hands?” He smirked, not dropping his guard for a single second.
At his comment, you immediately went bright red. Whilst he wasn’t exactly wrong, you still didn’t like the blatant pointing out of your less than desirable sex life.
“I-I’m doing just fine I’ll have you know.” You stuttered out, trying and failing to maintain some sort of composure.
“Sure thing, sweet cheeks. You can die alone with nothing but your forty cats for company.” With that he chucked your suit at you and walked out of the changing rooms and into the main Batcave.
You stood there for a few minutes, dumbstruck at his closing comment. The yells of Dick and Tim asking you to hurry up soon broke you out of your stupor, causing you to very hurriedly change into your suit and rush out into the main area.
“What’s gotten into you today shortstack?” Dick taunted as he saw your red face and the change in your demeanor.
You gave him your best ‘don’t fuck with me right now Grayson’ stare and he immediately dropped the subject and the pair of you turned back to the briefing.
Bruce carefully explained the plan, going through all the possible entrances and exits of the compound you were assaulting. It seemed like your average job: get in, get the hostages, get out. With the added spice of illegal munitions and weapons.
“I want everyone working together seamlessly tonight, one slip up could mean casualties which we are trying to avoid.” He gave Jason a pointed look who put his hands up in mock surrender.
“Don’t look at me big guy, I’ve got it all under control.” He smirked as he put his helmet on. As much as you hated him, you could admit that he looked downright sexy in his Red Hood getup.
“Okay, Robins you are with me and the rest of you are on bikes. We make it there in one piece and go from there.” He clicked down his visor and walked with the youngest boys to the batmobile. As he did so, you could feel the heat of Jason’s stare on you from under his mask. You stuck your middle finger up at him and could hear his modulated chuckle.
Yeah, tonight was going to be a long night.
——
“Huge explosion rocks Gotham Docks, six dead and fifteen injured.” Alfred read the headline of the newspaper out loud as the group of you sat dejectedly around the breakfast table.
“At least the only deaths were the bad guys.” Tim offered up, giving a small smile to the table before it dropped when no one reciprocated.
The assault had all been going well until you had walked into a room filled with experimental weaponry. The dealers transporting it obviously didn’t know what they were doing because the second they opened fire it ignited something, causing the whole room to burst into flames. Luckily, Damien and Tim had managed to get all of the hostages out by that point, whilst Dick, Jason and Bruce were at the other end of the compound so we’re unaffected.
That leads back to you. Your suit and cape had protected most of your body, you had had the foresight to cover yourself with your cape when the fire started. Never have you been more thankful for the technologically advanced suits Bruce had made for you all. You had escaped with minimal burns but your skin was littered with cuts and bruises, turning purple quickly thanks to some good treatment by Alfred. You also wore a gash on your cheek, from the side of your lip to your eyebrow which still weeped even hours after it had first been inflicted.
“That is good news Tim.” You finally replied, shooting him a small smile. You could see his shoulders straighten a little more at this, you are glad you could at least try to help.
“I suggest you all spend a few days recovering,” Alfred said before turning to you, “You are not leaving the manor until I deem it safe.”
“But my-“ You began.
“No buts, I will send Jason and Dick to your apartment to pick up some things you will need for your stay. You can stay in your old room”
Ah yes, the room you had unceremoniously been chucked in when you had your first brush with death and Donna knew she couldn’t care for you at your place. You had spent the better part of four months recovering and regaining your strength before you finally moved back out. During that time, you had become close with the ‘batboys’ as you liked to call them and had been accepted into their team; spending a majority of your nights on patrol with them and helping them on missions.
“Fine Alfred, let me make a list though. If Donna is there, give it to her as it will save you two from making a mess of the place.” Alfred handed you a pen and paper and you began to messily scribble down a few essential items you needed.
When you were done, you handed the list to Dick who began to read it before it was snatched out of his hands by Jason.
“PJs, the pink bottle of shampoo not the grey one, Mr Lovekins, hairbrush, tooth-“ Jason cut himself off and began to laugh, “What the fuck is ‘Mr Lovekins’.”
You blushed a deep crimson at this. “He-He’s my stuffed cow that I sometimes like to sleep on.” You trailed off and looked at your hands.
“I might have great hearing but even I didn’t catch that.” Jason drawled, smiling as he took his time to tease you. “Do you want to repeat that to the group?”
You glared at him, closed your eyes, let out a breath, and then opened them again. “Mr Lovekins is a stuffed cow that you won for me at the first fair I went to when I came to Gotham. I sometimes like to sleep with him because the way his body is sewn makes him a great pillow for alleviating neck pain.” You turned to Jason and cocked your head, “Any more stupid questions or are we done here?”
The look on his face was not what you were expecting. You expected his smirk but instead he wore a look of confusion and what seemed to be regret.
——
To their credit, both Jason and Dick picked up everything you asked for and returned pretty speedily. So you entertained yourself for the next hour by sorting everything and putting it all away into the clunky, oak cabinets that lined the walls of your room.
As you got to the bottom of the last bag of stuff, your hand hit something hard. You quickly pulled it out and saw that it was a book. You had never seen it before so it couldn’t have been yours. It had a black cloth cover with no title so you opened it to the first page.
‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’
You smiled at the title, you had enjoyed the normal version of the book and had been eager to try this version. Your smile dropped however when you saw the small note, scrawled in messy handwriting under the title.
‘Take this as my apology, I know you’ve been looking forward to reading this so enjoy it.
- Jason’
You flicked through the pages and saw scribblings in the margins of most pages. Notes about his thoughts on the scene, critiquing fighting styles and so on. It then dawned on you that this was his personal copy of the book. Jason Todd had leant you a book from his coveted personal library. You froze - why would he do something like this? He hated you?
Your thoughts were cut off by a knock at the door. You placed the book carefully on your bed and walked over to answer it.
Jason stood just over the threshold, a tray with two teacups and a plate of biscuits balancing against his hip.
“Hey.” He said, looking up at you.
“Hi?” You replied warily. What was he doing here? Your mind raced as to what his ulterior motive must be, Jason wouldn’t just show up with tea and biscuits just for a chat. There had to be another reason.
“I um, I stole some biscuits and tea from the kitchen and was wondering if you wanted to share them with me?” He said with a sheepish smile.
To say you were gobsmacked was an understatement. The man hated you and you hated him, yet here he was offering you tea and biscuits as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
The next words that came out of your mouth shocked you: “That would be nice, come in.”
You could tell he was just as shocked, as he repeated your words after you said them. Only coming in when you nodded with a small smile.
He perched the tray on the desk and handed you a cup and you sat on your bed and he sat on your desk chair. You fell into a comfortable silence as you sat there, sipping your tea. You could see that his eyes were scanning the room until they fell onto the book sitting next to you in the bed. You caught his gaze and smiled.
“Thanks for lending me the book, I’m going to need something to do until I can get back to training and in the field.”
“I didn’t lend it to you.”
You stopped and looked up at him, suddenly embarrassed that you had misread the situation.
“I’m - I’m sorry I thought-“ Was all you could get out before he cut you off.
“No, I mean it’s a gift. It’s yours.”
You just stared at him when he said that, stunned into silence. Eventually however, you found your words again.
“You’re giving me one of your books? But why? You treat them like they’re your children? Why me?”
“Because I care about you and I know you’ve been meaning to read it and now seemed like the perfect time for you to do so.”
Now that confession hit you like a truck.
“You care for me? I thought you hated me?” You said, still shocked at his words.
“Of course I care for you. Why wouldn’t I? I’ve always just thought you hated me after you stopped being nice to me.” He furrowed his brow, “You do hate me right?”
“Only because I thought you hated me! I did nothing but be nice to you and then one day you decided to just be a prick to me and it never went back.”
“I only tried to push you away because I had a massive crush on you and didn’t want to see you get hurt because I didn’t think I deserved you. You were kind to me - the freak of nature who couldn’t control his own urges. You sat with me and told me that I was just as human as you were and that nothing would change that. And don’t even get me started on how you look, I was ready to fight any other person that even looked at you.I hated myself for that so I pushed you away to protect you.”
“Protect me from what? I’m fully capable of defending myself even against you.” You had both discarded your cups by this point and you were now stood up infront of him. You saw his head drop and his chest heave before he looked back at you.
“When I saw you last night, you were so still, I- I,” he took a breath and you could see a tear roll down his cheek, “I thought you were dead and I have never been so scared in my life. I didn’t even check to see it was safe, I just ran to you. When I heard you breathing I have never been so happy in my life. I sat next to your bed all night whilst you were unconscious. I only left when you began to stir because I realised that I was going to do something stupid if I didn’t leave and you would have hated me forever.”
More tears rolled down his cheeks as he paused. You too could feel the tracks of wetness rolling down your face at his heartfelt confession.
“I just can’t control myself when I’m around you.” He finally said in a near whisper, his face so close to yours you could feel his breath on your lips. Neither of you pulled away.
His words had stirred something in you, feelings you had buried deep away since that day he decided to hate you. Memories of stolen touches, late nights on the roof away from everyone else and trips to the fair where he insisted on winning you the most obnoxious prizes. You smiled at the thoughts that invaded your head before looking him straight in the eyes.
“Then don’t control yourself.”
He then kissed you and it was perfect.
———
A/N As mentioned before, I’m considering turning this into a series/series of interconnected oneshots so any feedback is appreciated :))

Lizzy McAlpine Songs That Would Describe a Relationship with Jason Todd [Pt. 2] - Jason Todd Imagine [HBO's Titans]
Tumblr media
Title: Lizzy McAlpine Songs That Would Describe a Relationship with Jason Todd [Pt. 2]
Pairing: Jason Todd X Reader
Word Count: 1,943 words
Warning(s): major character death, mention of past trauma
Author's Note: Y'all... I accidentally took an hour-long nap at like 5:30. This is not a vibe.
**Written in third person**
**Not connected to part one**
**Not intentionally written in chronological order**
----------------------
ceilings
But it's not real And you don't exist And I can't recall the last time I was kissed It hits me in the car And it feels like the end of a movie I've seen before Before
"Who's (Y/n)?"
Jason hadn't expected the question.
He had been very careful to avoid the topic of (Y/n). He didn't want someone poking around his memories. He wanted them to stay as they were, even if that meant he had to cope with the nightmares and the guilt.
"Jason?"
"How do you know about them?"
The woman across from him sighed and shifted. "Bruce mentioned their name but said he didn't know much."
Jason's jaw clenched. "What does he know?"
"That they were important," she explained. "That you loved them. That you've had nightmares where you seem to wake up looking for them."
His eyes closed and he shook his head.
He could see everything about them. Their smile and eyes and hair. He had vivid memories of their first date, first kiss, the nights spent "sneaking" into each other's rooms. He remembered when (Y/n) got a "proper outfit" for their work. They had been so excited that they jumped around for a bit.
"What happened to them," she asked.
Why couldn't the good memories just exist on their own?
"Jason?"
"They got hurt."
"Hurt?"
He sighed. "They died."
Sometimes it didn't feel like that. There were times when he was certain that he could see them standing with him. Sitting next to him. Lying with him in bed. They were still there.
Even then, in that appointment, he could see them. They were sitting next to him, holding his hand. Like they were comforting him through him retelling their death.
"Can you talk about what happened," she asked.
"(Y/n) and I went looking for Deathstroke," Jason started. "I... I talked them into it. Dick wouldn't go after the guy and I... I thought we could find him.
"We ended up in the tunnel system. I don't know why we split up. But I heard them yell my name. By the time I had followed the sound, (Y/n) was gone.
"The whole team was looking for them. They all just kept... glaring at me. It was my fault that they were there in the first place."
Jason's eyes closed.
He had never talked about it. The team had been wrapped up in a new collection of problems. There was no time to talk about all that had happened. They all just... moved on.
"Deathstroke... He wanted to trade (Y/n) for his daughter," he continued. "Dick got there before the rest of us. By the time I got there, Dick and Deathstroke were fighting and (Y/n) was tied on some platform outside."
He could've sworn that he heard (Y/n) take a deep breath. He felt their hand moving to his upper arm.
"Umm... Deathstroke had some explosives attached to it. It... It started falling. I... I tried to save them. Dick did too. We weren't fast enough."
The doctor didn't respond immediately. That seemed to make Jason ramble more.
"(Y/n) had gifts," he continued. "From that dude that they stayed with. Some experimental treatment or something. They... They still couldn't save themself. Their powers just... stopped! It should've been me or Dick or anyone of us. We should've been there! I should've fucking been there!"
"Jason," she replied. "Why do you blame yourself more than Deathstroke?"
"I walked us into that trap. I am the reason (Y/n) was there. I was the one that couldn't save them."
"You didn't set the trap."
Jason rolled his eyes before pressing the heels of his palms into his eyes.
"What treatment did (Y/n) undergo?"
"Does it matter?"
"It might."
"It was some weird brain surgery thing, I don't know," Jason shrugged. "They said it poked at something and that caused their... powers."
"Can you give me examples?"
Jason was struggling to see the point as he spoke, "Telekinesis... telepathy..."
He trailed off after a moment. There was a moment of realization that he didn't allow it to show on his face. The weight next to him shifted. No words were spoken but it felt like a confession had been made.
And in that moment, Jason's entire concept of reality and death completely shattered.
In Agreement
I talk to my friends about you Pretty sure they're tired of hearing it I say I met a guy, and he treats me real nice Which is good for a change
Dick had told Gar to keep an eye on the security cameras.
Gar agreed immediately. It was something to do that wasn't training or sitting around and waiting, of course, he jumped at the opportunity.
He was just figuring out all of the different camera angles and buttons on the control center when Rachel walked in.
"What are you doing," she asked.
"Dick asked me to keep an eye on the camera," Gar explained, smiling at her.
He was so clearly excited, but that didn't stop Rachel from pointing something out, "How many questions had you asked him before he assigned this to you?"
"Not that many, just...," Gar trailed off to count the questions. "Oh."
"Sorry," Rachel muttered.
"Wait, no," he shook his head. "Dick asked me to do this because he trusts me. Not because I was bugging him."
Rachel hummed and nodded. Two actions had never looked so sarcastic. Gar let out a breath and went back to his surveillance.
Rachel chuckled before leaning on the control panel. She let her eyes jump around the screens as Gar messed around with a few buttons. She paused when she spotted something on one of the screens.
"I didn't know one of the cameras went into the kitchen," she commented.
"Yeah," he replied, turning his head to look at her again. "All of the major common areas have one."
Rachel just nodded, still watching the screen with a grin on her face.
"What," he asked, looking over at it. "Oh..."
On the screen was a clear shot of Jason and (Y/n). They were in the middle of waiting for something to cook. Some kind of music was playing in the background, shown by (Y/n) drumming on the counter while Jason stood behind them with his arms around their torso. Jason leaned in and pressed a kiss to their jaw. (Y/n) paused their drumming for just a moment so they could smile at him.
"They really can't leave each other alone," Rachel commented.
"I think it's sweet," Gar replied. Rachel looked at him. She agreed with him, but it felt like the sentiment was deeper for him than it was for her. "I've... I've known (Y/n) for a while now. I've seen them go through some awful situations. It's nice to see them just smile with someone."
"'Awful situations'?"
Gar sighed. He tried to avoid giving away too much, "They spent too long walking on eggshells."
Rachel didn't push beyond that. She just let her gaze turn back to the screen and her smile get a little bit bigger.
Jason and (Y/n) had both truly earned this.
all my ghosts
All my ghosts are with me I know you feel them too Ridin' shotgun next to your free Slurpee They know all of my habits, but they don't know about you I hope that's true
Jason and (Y/n) actually know much about each other when everyone first moved into the tower.
With all of the chaos of Rachel being hunted and then her dad trying to turn everyone evil, small talk was a little difficult.
Not for lack of trying.
Jason had tried to talk a few times during the drive to the tower and throughout their time there. (Y/n) just always seemed awkward. It was difficult to distinguish if it was Jason's fault or just (Y/n)'s personality.
But with Dick keeping everyone hidden in the tower, they had nothing to do besides train and talk. There was plenty of time for Jason to crack through whatever shell (Y/n) had.
Rachel and Gar had left for whatever reason. Jason and (Y/n) were training. Jason had far more fighting experience than (Y/n) did, so he was trying to help. Granted, it was turning into him just showing off.
"Why don't you use your powers," he asked when the pair finally stopped for a break.
"Dick wants to make sure that I can fight without it," they shrugged.
"Why?" he furrowed his eyebrows. "What fight are you going to get in where your powers aren't available?"
"My powers are based in my mind," (Y/n) explained. "Stress and anxiety and... I don't know, a head injury could all prevent my powers from working. I need to be ready."
"If you never practice with them, then you're not gonna be able to use them."
(Y/n) just shrugged.
"I want you to test them," he said. "Just test them."
"What do you want me to do?"
He shrugged. "Use something as a shield."
(Y/N) nodded before stepping back. Jason stepped towards the collection of weapons slowly.
When he finally reached for a weapon, he was fast. He quickly threw the weapon at (Y/n). He watched as something moved in front of them to stop the weapon in its tracks.
The weapon fell to the ground, soon followed by the shield.
"Hell yeah!"
(Y/n) jumped a bit at Jason's suddenly shouting.
"That was fucking awesome!"
(Y/n) chuckled at his excitement.
"I'm not kidding, that was so cool," he continued, walking closer to them.
He paused right in front of them. His eyes scanned (Y/n)'s face, jumping from detail to detail like he was trying to commit it to memory.
(Y/n) was more focused on what was going on behind Jason's eyes. His thoughts were almost obnoxiously loud. Maybe that was just because (Y/n) was truly focusing on them.
One thought that crossed his mind caught (Y/n) off-guard.
(Y/n) looked away suddenly. They could feel their face warming up.
"What," Jason asked.
"Nothing," they shook their head, stepping away from him.
"You were poking around in my thoughts," he accused, pointing at them. He was still smiling. He wasn't upset about the idea.
"No!"
"You absolutely were!"
(Y/n) scoffed but didn't deny it any further.
"What'd you see?"
(Y/n) watched Jason walk back over to them.
"(Y/n)," he said quietly, drawing out their name a bit. "What did you see?"
"Y'know, it's your thoughts, so logically, you should be the one that's embarrassed."
"Not an answer," he pointed out. "Tell me."
"You wanted to kiss me."
Jason's grin only grew a little bit more. He nodded.
(Y/n) felt nervous. Terrified. Their past didn't allow many opportunities to interact with other people, and the people they did meet weren't always the best. Gar was one of the only exceptions that (Y/n) could think of.
They felt some part of their mind being tickled. Reminders of what had put them in that spot in the first place. The time spent dealing with the waves of voices that they couldn't shut off.
Jason slowly leaned in and pressed his lips to theirs. (Y/n) froze for a moment, trying to get their mind to latch onto the moment. They wanted to hold onto this feeling. The pause. The calmness.
He slowly leaned back a little while later. "Was that okay?"
(Y/n) nodded, not quite trusting their voice.
Jason's smile formed again as they did. "Can I do it again?"
(Y/n) nodded again.
He chuckled at them.
And for just a while, both of them could allow their pasts to lie where they should.
They could allow this moment to just be this moment.

Tattoo
Jason Todd x Reader
Summary: After an unplanned surprise the previous year, Jason gets a little something that reminds him of you.
Tumblr media
“Does it still hurt?”
Your legs tangled itself around his, your head following the rhythm of his chest as your ears filled itself with the pounding of his heart.
“Not as much as a week ago. Its healing fine.”
Your fingers mindlessly traced his chest, inwardly smiling as you watch the goosebumps trail in the same direction your finger went.
Without thinking, you started to trace the tattoo, going from the stems to the small, delicate petals of the flower-
“baby’s breath? Yeah, you know they’re my favourite.”
“Okay but would you say they were there at the top of your list of favourite flowers? Like the top, top? How about, maybe tulips?”
“Of course!” your eyebrows knitted in confusion as you watched him trip over his words and discreetly fiddle with the hem of his shirt. “Jason. What did you do?”
Your mind instantly diverted back to a year ago, your first anniversary. The day hadn’t gone the way you wanted to, far from it and having the thought of going back home to your love and snuggling your worries away sounded perfect.
What you didn’t consider was the state of your home being bombarded with bouquets upon bouquets of tulips, so much so that the door resisted her to go in.
“Jason! What did you do!?” you hollered from the front door, shoving your way in between pastel petals.
The boy was bamboozled by your early appearance as he too, struggled among the mess, “W-what? You’re not meant to be back for another 2 hours.”
It was almost too dramatic the way you collapsed on the floor, tears following suit. The day had been too overwhelming. Later, you found yourself in bed your pupils following every movement Jason made as he cleared the house of broken stems and tissue paper.
-
“I might’ve done something. It’s not much really, it’s not like last year I swear.”
“What. Is. It. Jason.”
Slowly, he took off his shirt, revealing not only his upper body but a small patch of cling film that glistened on his left peck. As you neared, you could make out the faint lines that etched into said flower.
“Jason.”
“I know, it was a reckless decision. I shouldn’t have done it-“
“I-I love it.”
“You do?”
Your fingers found their way around his neck, enveloping him into your embrace, “I thought, since you like them so much, every time I look at it, I’d think of you.”
you listened as Jason’s steady breath started to quiver, his muscles twitching at your touch,
“You will be the death of me baby,”
 - BONUS -
“What do you mean?”
“Dicks got everyone training harder now that he’s gone all emo. I won’t be back until late tonight. Will you be okay?”
“Yeah, I guess. Or I could just meet you at the tower?”
“Are you sure? I don’t like you walking alone in this area.”
“I’ll be fine Jason. Out of all the people I know, you should be aware that I can take care of myself, plus-“
Your hands trailed up his abdomen, stopping just above his heart. The exact spot your tattoo is etched. Your eyes stayed on his as your finger started tracing the tattoo again.
You watched as his eyes flutter, pushing himself closer so that the tip of your lips were touching, close enough that your breaths mingled.
“I’ve got other plans on how tonight will go.”

My inspiration
Jason Todd x male reader in various ways! Robin, to Red Hood. Arkham Knight to Red Hood
Tumblr media
You met Jason when he was introduced to you as the new Robin
You are Silver Canary, Black Canary's Nephew
Jason was smitten
You were too, but kept it professional
'We're here to do a job' you would say
Jason was impressed with your fighting skills
He was impressed with your power too
'Does that hurt your throat?' He asks you
'Does smoking?' You smirk
Dinah and Ollie would try to keep you with them
Somehow, you always ended up fighting alongside Robin
When Jason became Red Hood, you and him teamed up a lot
Black Canary, Green Arrow, Red Hood and Silver Canary were a force
Eventually, Jason took a leap one night
'Don't hate me for this' he said as he slammed his lips on yours
You kissed him back, deeply
Dinah and Ollie saw you kissing one day
Then the secret was out, you guys were together
Of course, Dinah did her usual - break his heart I'll break your ear drums speech
Tumblr media
Red Hood was a royal pain in your ass
Even more so, he had to be cute
Selina warned you about him
'Kitty' he would hum when he saw you, you'd just roll your eyes
'Catboy, or some people call me Black Cat' Red Hood would just smile
Catwoman and Batman would often team up, asking you two to help too
Ugh
Jason loved it, he was impressed with your fighting skills
'Ever use that whip in the bedroom?' He asked you
'Nope, you use guns?' You would laugh
Red Hood saved you one day from an oncoming grenade thrown at you
Then on, you realised you actually did really like him
He of course, made obvious he liked you from day 1
Selina wasn't too happy on the thought of you dating Jason
Bruce wasn't too happy with it either
However, they both saw how much Jason actually cared for you. They witnessed the first time he said 'I love you'
Finally, you were happy with him
Selina still wasn't mad about the idea, but as long as you were happy
Tumblr media
It was just after Barbara had been taken by Scarecrow
Jason revealed himself to her as the Arkham Knight
You, Barbara's twin brother, found out too
Your thought to be dead boyfriend Jason, was in fact alive
You were Bluebird helping Batman find Arkham Knight
When you saw his face, you broke
'Jason?' You questioned
'Y/n?' He spoke
Skipping to after the events of Arkham Knight, you saw Jason again
This time he was as Red Hood
You weren't Bluebird anymore, to be honest it just got confusing with Nightwing
You were BlackBat, in memory of Bruce and also cause your twin sister couldn't be Batgirl anymore
She was your Oracle
You were at the docks with Red Hood when Black Mask took a tumble down some floors (he got kicked out a window 300 style)
'Overkill?' You chuckled
'Meh' Jason laughed, taking off his mask and kissing you
You were happy you had your love back - he was happy you still loved him
You were still inseparable

There was zero chance for Jason and Y/N to sneak away as they jumped over the roof tops of Gotham with Dick overseeing them. He loitered behind them the entire time, watching them with an eagle eye, never giving them a chance to escape and enjoy themselves.
‘We can’t get five minutes to ourselves,’ Y/N sighed as her and Jason dawdled over the rooftops, Dick lingering behind them just enough so they could talk privately but close enough that they couldn’t ditch him.
‘Yeah, sorry about him,’ Jason smiled sympathetically to Y/N, his mask covering his cheekbones but highlighting his eyes. ‘If I knew he was so close then I would’ve been quieter.’
‘Not your fault,’ Y/N assured Jason, ‘as he said – he’s technically my brother now. Aren’t big brothers supposed to be, like, giant pains in the ass?’
‘You’d prefer a little brother?’ Jason chuckled. ‘Aren’t they like… little demons or something?’
‘I don’t know – I’ve been an only child all my life now I’ve got a new dad and a brother along with that,’ Y/N shrugged as she waited for Jason to climb over a roof that she had already conquered, ‘it’s a totally new life. I’ve got to adjust to it all, I guess.’ Y/N smiled tightly as Jason landed on his feet next to her. ‘It’s been months though, since I learned who my dad was, and since I met Dick, I thought I’d be used to this by now.’
‘Come on,’ Jason said, ‘you can’t really expect to just walk into a new life and not be affected by the change, Kitty Cat. You’re only human.’
‘But I’m more than ‘only human’, aren’t I?’ Y/N groaned and leaned her head against the bricks, ‘I’m Batman’s daughter, I’m Catwoman’s daughter. I was raised by Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. For fuck sake, I pet-sit Hyenas on my Saturday nights.’
‘That doesn’t mean you’re unshakable,’ Jason said, placing his hands on her waist and resting his forehead against hers. ‘You have every right to feel overwhelmed and not know how to adjust or know what to do – everyone feels like that, regardless of background, of who they are. It’s human.’
‘I know,’ Y/N nodded and spoke quietly, ‘but I’ve never felt this overwhelmed by life before. Becoming Lynx was easy, coming to terms with Mum being a criminal was easy, knowing who Auntie Ivy and Auntie Harley were was easy, fighting the Joker was easy – this is so unknown to me.’
‘Well,’ Jason kissed the end of her nose gently, ‘I’ll help you through it. I’ll hold your hand the whole time.’
‘Hey, you love birds alright?’ Dick asked appearing behind them.
‘Yeah, yeah,’ Y/N nodded, ‘just talking, appreciating the distance from the paps.’
‘Yeah, they’re a pain,’ Dick smiled awkwardly, ‘after I moved out of the manor, they left me alone, but before that, they were utter hell!’
‘So, in your professional opinion,’ Jason began, ‘when will they leave us all alone?’
‘Honestly?’ Dick frowned, ‘not till they get what they want.’
‘And what do they want?’ Jason asked.
‘They want me, don’t they?’ Y/N mumbled, ‘to know me?’
‘Pretty much,’ Dick nodded, ‘they’re vultures, and they’ll keep circling. If they don’t get the information through us, as a family, they’ll get it somewhere else, a less legit source, and then that’s the public’s opinion of you.’
________________________________________________________________
For the first time since her formal announcement to the public, Y/N Kyle-Wayne was back inside the building of Wayne Enterprises, not as an intern, nor as Bruce Wayne’s assistant or Jason Todd’s girlfriend, but as the future CEO of the company. To say it was overwhelming was an understatement. Shaking from head to toe, Y/N gulped as she was led by Bruce towards the board room, filled with board members who were eager to tear her apart and prove she had no right to the Wayne Fortune or Business. Stopping in the middle of the hallway, Y/N pressed her hands against the wall to brace herself. Bruce and Dick stopped and watched before Bruce approached his daughter.
‘You alright?’ Bruce asked softly as he rubbed her back.
‘Nervous,’ she confessed.
‘We don’t have to do this today,’ Bruce said in a comforting voice, ‘we can call the whole thing off.’
‘No, no,’ Y/N shook her head, standing up straight, ‘let’s do it. Rip the bandage off.’
‘We’ll be right there with you,’ Dick assured his sister.
‘I know,’ Y/N nodded, giving a hesitant smile before the trio continued towards the board room.
‘Ready?’ Bruce asked, placing his hand on the handle.
‘Let’s go,’ Y/N said as Bruce opened the door. The three walked into the boardroom. A long wooden table took up most of the space with elegant office chairs blocking any and all free space. Every single one of those chairs were filled with members of the board of Wayne Enterprises. All were old, miserable men who stared Y/N down the moment she walked in. Seeing the large, ceiling to floor windows that overlooked the Gotham skyline, Y/N felt at ease, sighing in relief before meeting the shark eyes of the board members.
‘Mr Wayne,’ one of the men said standing up, ‘Mr Grayson.’
Y/N noticed how he didn’t acknowledge her, but rather her father and Dick, and looking at the other two, they noticed it as well. Dick coughed and folded his arms.
‘What? My sister isn’t good enough to be greeted like a human being?’ Dick spoke up.
‘No, no,’ Y/N turned to Dick, ‘I’m sure the man had a perfectly good reason for being unbearably rude to the future CEO of Wayne Enterprises, right, sir?’
The old man merely quirked his lip and met the gaze of the young Wayne, almost amused.
‘Well, young lady, you must understand how your position in the Wayne Line is obviously up for debate, and anyway, you are far too young and… delicate to take the position of CEO. CEO’s need to be strong and respectable.’
‘Dude,’ Dick chuckled, ‘she served my ass to me the first time we met – she’s stronger and more respectable than all of you lot put together.’’
‘He’s saying I can’t run a company because I’m female,’ Y/N said, ‘right? Along with questioning whether I am a Wayne.’
‘Well, what name did you go by for most of your life? It was that Street Rat Girl Mr Wayne fawned over in childhood, correct? Kyle?’
‘Selina is her mother, yes,’ Bruce said, ‘and her father is indeed I. You can see the DNA test results that we have. Obviously, I was prepared for those who would doubt the truth that was right in front of you. Can’t you see the Wayne in her?’
‘Mr Wayne, you surely cannot expect this… girl to lead the company after you leave.’
‘I can and I will.’
‘And I have a name,’ Y/N snapped, ‘if any of my future employees would care to know.’
‘My son would make a far superior CEO than this girl.’
‘Again, I’ve got a name.’
‘Just meet with him.
‘Oh, I’ve met your son, O’Connor,’ Bruce scoffed, ‘the one doing lines of cocaine in the bathroom at the Gala, yes? Utterly unfit and, currently, being arrested by GCPD for possession and use of drugs.’
Y/N placed a firm hand on O’Connor’s upper arm.
‘O’Connor – is it?’
‘Greggory O’Connor,’ the man said.
‘Well, Greg, mind if I call you Greg?’ Y/N said, not giving him a chance to answer before carrying on, ‘why don’t you take a seat and listen for a change rather than shove your nose where it doesn’t belong, especially when you’re as misogynistic as you have been towards me, who is, I will remind you yet again, is your future boss. And you still haven’t asked me my name.’
‘What is your name, Miss Wayne?’ Another man spoke up as Greggory sat back down. This man looked kinder, warmer with a greying beard and wire glasses.
‘It’s Y/N,’ she said directly to the man, ‘and you are?’
‘Lucius Fox,’ he smiled at Y/N, ‘I see the Wayne in you. Stoic – just like your grandfather, but a warmth that is undeniably Martha, especially in those eyes.’
‘Thank you, Mr Fox,’ Y/N nodded towards the man as she took her spot at the front of the room, ready to address the members.
‘I have no doubt that when you lead the company, you shall do it with the strength and values that all previous Waynes’ have had.’
‘I like him’ Y/N said, turning to her father, ‘don’t fire him,’ she joked, causing a few little laughs in the room. ‘Now, I’m certain that if you asked all of us in this room at this point last year where we’d all end up, none of us would’ve said here, in this moment. Especially I of all people. Yes, as Mr O’Connor and my father said, my mother is Selina Kyle, who did grow up on the streets, but she has worked hard to provide me with a stable and good life. I do want to be CEO of Wayne Enterprises. I believe that we, as an international enterprise and a Gotham based one as well, need to show that, when we work together, Gotham can be more than criminals that run the city, we need to show that, when the people stand up against the evil and wrongs in the world, we can make a difference. A lot of people in Gotham are pushed aside, never heard, and those people are the ones who suffer the consequences of us and our ignorance. My mother was one of those people, and she was lucky and was able to claw her way out, though it wasn’t without hardships. But we need to make sure that none have to the pain and trials and tribulations that my mother went through, and that starts with us.’ Y/N paused, ‘As some have made themselves abundantly clear, you are not happy with me eventually becoming CEO of Wayne Enterprises, although I don’t want to be cruel here but I will state the truth I don’t know how many of you will be with us when what time comes, sorry if that comes to a shock to any of you but death is inevitable. I do hope that the ones of you who are happy with me will be able to work alongside me in using Wayne Enterprises power and influence to better Gotham City, and hopefully other places in the world. Those who aren’t fond of me and perhaps are secretly plotting against me, no offence if you don’t like me and aren’t plotting against but this is Gotham – we’ve been trained to expect the worse – I hope that you take this moment to do one of two things, one, you look at yourself and your world view and question why you are so threatened by me becoming the CEO, and hopefully we can see eye-to-eye and work well together. I don’t want any arguments to breakout amongst us all, we’re supposed to be colleagues, teammates, brothers-in-arms even against the war in Gotham. If you still cannot, or will not, work with me and see eye-to-eye, are still threatened by me, a young woman who will work hard to achieve her aims in life and will not be threatened, blackmailed or bullied by those weak willed and weak minded fools, I hope you take that as your queue to end your time here at Wayne Enterprises. I do look forward to working with you, and I hope we can do it like a family, for that is what everyone in Gotham is, family. No one else knows what it is like to live in Gotham, for it is a complex and unusual upbringing to have, and that is our strength as a city, no matter where we are from in Gotham, rich or poor, young or old, we all grew up the same, with that fear of the criminals and what they would do. Some of us were lucky enough to do it in a penthouse, others in crappy apartments, and others on the streets, but at our core, we’re all the same. We are Gotham. Let’s change it for the better.’ She finished and stepped back, slowly but surely members of the board began to clap for Y/N, all except O’Connor who stood up and met the trio’s gaze.
‘My letter of resignation will be on the desk by the end of the day, Mr Wayne.’
‘Very well.’
The man walked out the room while the others all came towards Y/N and welcomed her kindly. Lucius Fox patted her on the back and spoke gently, seeing her concern over O’Connor.
‘Don’t worry about Greg,’ Lucius assured her, ‘he’s no threat, all bark and no bite. He’ll just make a comment to the press and fade away. You think Wayne Enterprises is the first place he’s quit from?’
‘Thank you, Mr Fox.’
‘Call me Lucius, please, as you said, we’re family.’

And, Lord, She Found Me Just in Time - Jason Todd Imagine [Titans]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: And, Lord, She Found Me Just in Time
Pairing: Jason Todd X Reader
Based On: Jackie and Wilson
Word Count: 1,545 words
Warning(s): none that I'm aware of
Summary: Being stuck in the Titans tower was giving everyone a sense of cabin fever. However, Jason is lucky enough to find a form of escapism through a person he spots on a nearby roof.
Author's Note: I didn't change the pronoun in the title, but this is written with gender-neutral pronouns.
HOZIER [2014] WRITING CHALLENGE MASTERLIST
--------------------
Jason had gone up to the roof of the Titans Tower for a breath of fresh air.
It was the closest he could really get to a day out. Dick had kept the team on a tight leash. Training, carefully watching. In theory, it all made sense. In reality, Jason was ready to pick a fight with a wall.
He was just standing there for a while, trying to stop himself from getting into a fistfight.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when he spotted something out of the corner of his eye. He looked over to see some kind of spark jumping around over the roof next door.
"What the fuck-"
Just as he asked the question, someone sat up on the opposite roof. He could see that someone was in control of the little bundle of energy, but that was it.
(Y/n)- the person on the other roof- turned around when they felt someone looking at them. They found Jason on the other side.
They awkwardly waved to him. He copied them.
He opened his mouth to talk, but then realized that it may not be a good idea to shout between the roofs. Instead, Jason pointed up at the sky a few times in the hopes of imitating the little spark of energy that he saw. He pointed over at the other person.
In a very strange way, he was trying to ask, "Was that you?"
He thought about how stupid that probably looked.
(Y/n) chuckled at him.
They picked their hand up and let another small spark form in front of them.
It zoomed between the roofs. Jason watched it as it spun around him. He flinched a little as the spark barely touched his nose before disappearing. He grinned. He didn't have many opportunities to see things like that. His attention was caught immediately.
The pair would spend the next few weeks meeting on those roofs.
Jason started bringing a big notepad and a pen. He'd write a few messages from time to time, but most of their time together was spent with Jason watching (Y/n) do cool tricks.
He found a sense of comfort in their interactions.
He had been trapped with the rest of the Titans for so long that having someone new to simply look at was enough for him. For just a while, he had some kind of escape.
He first thought about talking to the others about the person on the other roof during one of the pair's usual meetings.
When they established a schedule, neither one of them knew. They just seemed to fall into it and stick by it.
Jason wasn't sure that (Y/n) had noticed him yet. They were kind of dancing around, twirling around with a little line of energy or magic or whatever it was that they made.
Jason chuckled, ready to sit and watch them.
His heart dropped as (Y/n) started running toward the edge of the roof. He thought they would stop at the edge. But they didn't.
Jason ran to his edge when he saw (Y/n) feet leave the ledge.
"No!"
Almost as soon as the word came out of his mouth, another line of energy shot out from (Y/n)'s hand and latched onto the roof. They swung back up like it was nothing.
They turned around to look at Jason, who looked like he was ready to vomit. He looked down at how far it would be if they had fallen.
He scrambled for his notepad and pen.
'What the fuck was that for?'
(Y/n) tilted head a bit. They struggle to come up with an answer for a while before shrugging at him. They really just wanted to see if they could, but that was difficult to explain from across the roof.
A shocked laugh escaped him at the action.
Jason spent the entire night thinking about that incident on the roof. He thought about his fear and panic, but also about what that meant for (Y/n)'s power. It was impressive. It was a gift. It was something that Jason knew Dick would have an interest in, but he was torn on whether or not to tell him.
Could he force this person he met a few weeks ago into this life? The training and the strict schedule and the potential danger. It would be a lot to force onto them.
Jason just sighed and shook his head. He could think about this later. For now, he just wanted to enjoy the time that he had with them.
It was a few days later when Jason made up his mind.
He was back in his normal spot on the roof.
(Y/n) seemed kind of distracted. They were mindlessly spinning some energy between Jason and themself. Jason was watching quietly, grinning a bit as the little spark jumped around him.
He took a deep breath before reaching over to his notepad. He scribbled a note on it.
'Wish you were here'
The spark died between the two roofs as they read it. A small grin formed on their face.
They slowly stood up and studied the space between the roofs.
Jason stood up with them, mimicking their actions.
(Y/n) lifted their hands before shoving them forward. Rather dramatically, in Jason's opinion.
Jason jumped a bit as a bright bridge formed between the two roofs.
(Y/n) smiled, clearly proud of the trick. They waved Jason over.
Jason shook his head. He wasn't going to risk falling off the roof just to test out a magical energy bridge.
(Y/n) sighed and climbed onto the ledge. They stepped out onto the bridge, causing Jason's breath to stop for a moment.
But nothing went wrong.
(Y/n) stood on the bridge that they had made. They looked over at Jason. He let out a shocked laugh. (Y/n) bounced up and down a few times, trying to prove that it was stable. They waved Jason over again.
Jason let out a sigh before pushing himself onto the ledge.
He took a slow step on the bridge. He let out a sharp breath before continuing to walk over.
Jason and (Y/n) met in the middle.
They stood in silence for a few moments. Like both of them were truly shocked that they were actually this close. They had grown so accustomed to waving and motioning at each other from different rooftops.
Now, they were right in front of each other.
"Hi," (Y/n) said quietly.
Jason's smile grew at the mere sound of (Y/n)'s voice. "Hi."
(Y/n) let out a quiet laugh. They almost couldn't believe this was real. Finally, they were talking to the guy they had been interacting with for weeks now.
There was another pause in the conversation.
Neither one of them had thought about what they were going to say or do when they actually met.
(Y/n) moved first. They leaned forward quickly and kissed Jason. It was so fast that Jason thought he had imagined it.
(Y/n) smiled at the shocked expression on Jason's face. "I'm (Y/n)."
"Jason," he replied. Had they really gone that long without telling each other their names? He paused for a moment before holding out a hand. "Come with me."
"Why?"
"There's someone that I think is gonna want to meet you," he explained. (Y/n) still hesitated. "Just for a little bit."
(Y/n) took a deep breath before grabbing his hand. Jason grinned before pulling (Y/n) over to the roof of the Titan Tower. (Y/n) tried to keep from laughing as Jason excitedly led them downstairs and through the halls.
"Dick!"
"That doesn't seem like a nice thing to call a friend-"
"That's his name," Jason explained.
"Oh," (Y/n) nodded.
A man walked in. He looked strict. "Jason, what is... who is this?"
"This is (Y/n)," Jason introduced.
(Y/n) waved awkwardly with their free hand. They had no wish of letting go of Jason's hand. It was the only thing giving them comfort in this new situation.
"They live next door... and they have some really badass abilities."
"How did they get in here," Dick asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well, they made a bridge."
"A bridge?"
"I walked on it."
Dick raised an eyebrow at the pair.
(Y/n) lifted their free hand, letting a small spark form in front of them. They guided the spark to circle around Dick a few times before bouncing it off the tip of his nose.
"And you made a bridge out of that stuff?"
(Y/n) nodded.
"Can you fight with it?"
"I... I mean, in theory, probably," they shrugged. "It's never been a necessity before."
"Are you willing to test that theory?"
"Yes."
"Alright then, tomorrow morning, 7 a.m., meet me back here," Dick instructed. "We'll see what you can do."
"Okay," they grinned at him.
Dick walked out of the room after nodding at Jason. Once he was out of sight, Jason cupped the sides of (Y/n)'s face, pulling them forward into another kiss. That time, he got to catch (Y/n) off-guard.
He pulled away and smiled at them. (Y/n) smiled back, leaning into Jason's hand.
They had found each other at the perfect time.
And even after such a short time, they were both ready to fight to hold onto each other.
