This One's Alright - Part 2
CW: Mention of blood
Continuation requested by @elf-kid2 Part 1 Here
The last thing Civilian expected to see when opening his front door was Villain's blood spilling against his welcome mat.
"Hi, Pretty. Mind if I hang out for a bit?" Villain's smiled red, clutching her side, white knuckles gripping the door frame.
Civilian's mind stuttered short, entirely unprepared for the situation at hand.
A bloody handprint streaked his door, another smeared against the white framework of the threshold.
Currently brushing his teeth and dressed only in sweat pants for sleeping, Civilian froze on the other side of the door.
Villain's smile crumbled into a grimace, knees buckling.
Civilian lurched forward, catching the rest of her weight. "Oh my gods, oh my gods," he murmured through the froth of toothpaste in his mouth.
A hand weakly clutched the fabric of his shirt, staining it red. His gaze flicked down to her skin. She was so, so pale.
As gently as he could manage, Civilian hoisted her up into a slightly better hold, arms hooked under her armpits, and dragged her inside.
Villain made a squeak as her knee bumped the coffee table--a sound too fragile to suit her.
She sounded so small.
"Sorry, sorry," Civilian blurted.
After kicking the door shut, Civilian hoisted Villain onto the couch, taking as much care as he could.
Civilian abandoned his toothbrush and spit the remaining toothpaste into a cup on the end table, pressing his hands against Villain's wound.
Her teeth clenched, body squirming slightly under the harsh press of his hands.
Entirely too much blood continued to ooze through the cracks of his fingers, dribbling down into the couch cushions.
Civilian's breath caught. His throat felt too thick.
"Villain- I can't help you, you need a doctor, I don't know anything about medicine-"
He reached for his phone and Villain snatched his wrist. Her grip was stronger than it should have been, her gaze far too sharp for someone who was currently bleeding to death.
"No."
"Villain, what do you expect me to-"
"No," she repeated firmly.
Civilian shook his head. This was the third time she'd appeared on his doorstep.
Yet this was the first time he thought she was going to die.
'Civilian, we can't keep meeting like this,' she'd said the last time, temple and cheek bruised and ankle twisted at an unnatural angle.
'I just can't bear to keep away from your delicious meals, surely you understand,' she'd said the time before that, nursing a bloody lip and a gash on her forehead. He'd made her a bowl of 75-cent instant ramen and sent her to bed.
He was getting used to sleeping on the couch.
His stomach twisted at the realization that this time, she hadn't even made it that far.
"If I don't call someone, you're going to bleed out on my couch, is that what you want?"
Villain wheezed a crackling cough, wiping a hand against her mouth. She already looked tired again, exhausted by her brief spike of fervor.
She smiled again, head tilting slightly. "Better...Better your couch than alone in the dark."
Civilian swallowed. "Don't say that. Isn't there someone I can call?"
"What's your number again?" Villain hummed.
Civilian stared at her.
Villain let go of his wrist, squeezing her eyes shut. "Oh, Civilian. Don't look at me so softly, it's absolutely embarrassing."
Civilian pressed down on her wound again and Villain gasped, eyes snapping open again. "Gods. Might as well rip me open, it would hurt less."
He smiled slightly. "You're not going to die here. You're not going to die, you hear me? Keep pressure on it. I need to get my first aid kit."
After making sure Villain did as she was told, Civilian rushed to the next room, opening a cabinet and fishing out the kit.
Villain's blood coated his hands, smearing everything he touched sticky and red-brown.
When he returned, Civilian hesitated, cheeks flushing despite himself. "I-I need to lift your shirt, okay?"
That signature smirk played on her lips, lifting a bloodied hand to rest against his shirt. "Civilian. I didn't know you felt this way," she teased.
Civilian's heart jumped, no doubt pounding against Villain's hand. His brain swiped blank for a moment.
Gingerly, he lifted her shirt high enough to reveal her wound. It was enough to make him queasy, head swimming and insides crawling at the sight.
His hands shook as he fumbled with the bandages.
"This-This is really bad, Villain. Really bad." He nearly choked on the words, clumsily pressing gauze and bandaging over the gash.
"Note to self," Villain murmured, eyes fluttering shut again, "the new hero called Bullseye does not miss."
"Hey, stay with me- You're going to be fine." Civilian jerked her upward just enough to allow him to begin wrapping the bandaging around her torso.
A sharp inhale of breath was all that marked her discomfort at the tug.
A sickly red bloomed through the bandaging faster than he could keep up with it.
He wrapped and wrapped the bandage around and around until he couldn't see any more blood. Releasing a breath, he returned the pressure over the spot with his hands.
Villain didn't even react, that time.
Civilian's gaze snapped to her face. "Villain? Villain, don't go. You're okay. You're okay."
He snatched up his phone, nearly dropping it in his haste, dialing 9-1- before pausing.
Calling an ambulance for her would only be turning her over to the people who hurt her;
The people who left her to bleed out on a musty brown couch in an apartment on North Keller Street. Like she wasn't a person. Like she deserved to die.
Civilian's gripped the phone, fingers trembling.
If he didn't call, she might die.
But if he did...
The phone clattered against the floor. Civilian pressed his hands tighter over the afflicted spot and rested his head against Villain's waist.
"I've got you," he whispers, voice hitching. "Just don't die. Please don't die."
Please don't die.
Part 3
Well that was bleaker than I expected it to be. Let me know if you want to see more to this one or just leave it here. My snippets with female villains don't seem to get as much interest, for some reason :/ I like writing them, though, even though writing male villains comes easier to me! “And just where might you be off to?” Villain’s voice cooed from behind Sidekick, a cold trickle sent down their spine as they shivered, “I uh-y-I…I swear I-”
“I-I-,” Villain mocked, taking a step closer, leading Sidekick to be pressed up against the door, “Darling,” Villain cooed, leaning in close as they tilted their head, “Do you not enjoy staying here?”
A sob caught in Whumpee’s throat as they tried to speak but they couldn't form any words. “What’s the matter, darling,” Right Hand crooned, raking their hand through Sidekick’s hair- who jumped, not noticing their advance on them. “Cat got your tongue?”
And suddenly, the gentle touch in their hair turned into an iron-tight grip as they tightened their fist, slamming Sidekick’s head against the door. Sidekick cried out, their hands flying up in an attempt to claw at Right Hand’s grip but there was no use. Villain nodded once at Right hand and took a step backwards;
“I know you think you belong to Hero, you think that’s who you belong to, but let me make one thing very clear,” Villain was practically shaking from anger, seething as they watched Sidekick begin to fight against Right Hand's grip. The sound of the switchblade opening made Sidekick freeze up.
“You don’t belong to anyone else but Right Hand and I. We own you, not Hero, not Civillain, not anyone,” Villain stepped closer, their knuckles white as they gripped the handle of the knife. “Nononono-”
Right Hand had managed to move behind Sidekick, pinning their back against their own chest as Villain advanced towards them. Sidekick cried out, tears streaming down their face as they thrashed against Right Hand, “NO-nonono ple-please ‘m so-sorry-” They sobbed, “I di-didn't mean- I-”
A sob erupted from their throat as the cold metal blade traced lightly along their ribs, the other froze, shivering and trembling as they squeezed their eyes shut. “Oh darling,” Right Hand cooed, playing with Sidekick’s hair, soaking in how they trembled, “We’re doing this for your own good.”
Sidekick jolted as the blade slashed once across their chest. Right Hand tightened their grip, “We’re doing this because we care about you,” They soothed, “You belong to us.” The knife next drew a long red line just below Sidekick’s collarbone, making the other yell through gritted teeth.
Villain lightly traced the knife up along their collarbone, up up up their neck, smudging a glistening red streak along their skin from their previous wounds. The knife stopped just under their chin, forcing their head up. Sidekick shook with a sob but slowly blinked their eyes open, a tear immediately falling as their eyes met with Villain’s.
“You belong with us,” They whispered, their voice making Sidekick shiver, a whimper escaping their throat.
“You belong to us and only us. Sidekick-” They slowly tucked a short curl behind Sidekick’s ear and Villain smiled gently, “We are the ones for you. You're made to be with us. We would do anything for you.”
Sidekick slowly cringed back into Right hand but they nodded.
Villain gently brought their hand against the cut along Sidekick’s collarbone. Sidekick bit their lip, holding in a cry as Villain slowly leant in and spoke quietly, “Who do you belong to, dove?”
Sidekick whimpered, tears streaming down their face as they rasped out but eventually spoked, “Y-you guys- o-only you guys.”
Villain’s eyes sparkled with delight and Right Hand smiled, gently massaging Sidekick’s scalp, “Oh, well done, Honey, we’re so proud of you.” Sidekick sobbed as all they could do was lean into the soft, gentle touches. Villain pocketed the knife quickly and cupped Sidekick’s face gently, their thumb brushing along their cheekbone, “I know it's hard, I know, dove. But here with us is where you belong, with us.” Sidekick wanted to fight, everything in them told them to resist. But this is where they belonged.
With them.

Writing Snippet #20
Go to college, they said. It will be fun, they said.
You, you idiot, that was you who said that.
Kenna hefted her heavy backpack and trudged across the dark, empty campus, rueing all the hours she’d spent convincing her father that she needed a normal college experience.
Regular classes. Regular dorm. Regular social life.
And for what? Mountains of homework. Hours and hours spent locked in the library until they kicked her out at closing. A cranky dorm mate she spoke to once a week when she decided to yell at Kenna for having the audacity to wake up before noon. A handful of supremely awkward dates. Oh, and these two.
She paused as she passed the narrow space between two buildings.
Hero and Villain were at it again.
Hero threw a punch, but Villain darted to the side, rolling in the dirt and coming up swinging.
Kenna rolled her eyes and snapped a picture of the scuffling duo she had the misfortune of sharing a biology class with.
She opened her texts and clicked on the first message thread.
[Look at these fools🙄]
She attached the photo to the text and was about to press send when sudden movement caught her eye.
Shoving the phone in her pocket, she turned as Hero loomed above her, breathing hard, a fresh bruise blooming on his jaw.
“Hey Kenna!” He said, a little too enthusiastically.
Really, could it get more cliche? Super tall, broad shouldered football star. With super strength.
Someone write a novel.
And he wasn’t wearing a mask this time.
Something brushed her side and she whirled to see Villain, his sly fingers typing away on her phone. His right side was covered in dust.
She almost snorted, but caught herself. What would a normal human do?
“Hey, give that back!” A bit delayed, but mostly normal.
Villain didn’t look up, his brow furrowed in concentration.
Hero anxiously stepped between them, smile wide and eyes bright. “Hey, we were just having a discussion about the biology lab—”
“With your fists?” Kenna raised a brow, and Hero ran a hand through his hair.
“Listen, if we get caught fighting again…”
Behind him, Villain snorted. “You mean, if you get caught fighting again…” But he continued to frown at her phone, and Kenna snuck an extra-long glance at him.
Tall as Hero, he was lean and fast. Not superpower fast (at least as far as she knew) but he was top of the track team.
They’d both be in trouble if they got caught fighting again.
That’s why masks are a thing, eggheads.
“Look, just give me my phone.” She reached around Hero, or at least, she tried to reach around Hero. He was a defensive lineman for a reason. “I’m not going to turn you guys in for fighting.”
Hero looked hopeful, but Villain scoffed, finally looking up from the phone to eye her skeptically. “Really? Then why did you take a video?”
While Villain was talking, she managed to slip around Hero and make a grab for her phone.
Villain just laughed and held it above his head.
“I… didn’t!” She proclaimed as she jumped for the phone. That’s what a normal girl would do right? “It was just...a picture!”
Villain hadn’t expected her to admit to taking one, and he froze, his arm coming down enough for her to make another attempt to reclaim the phone. He easily caught her wrist and stared at her curiously.
“Why?”
She tugged at her wrist. There was no way she was going to admit she was texting her dad, aka best friend, updates on these two (who had become her own personal entertainment with their bickering, rivalry, and … ok yes, the fact they were both incredibly good looking didn’t hurt matters either).
For some reason, it felt like admitting she’d wanted to show her dad the photo would reveal the teeny tiny mega crush she had on both of them.
So she just donned a smirk instead. “Blackmail of course.”
That earned her a laugh from Villain, who released her and placed the phone in her hand. “Take it. I couldn’t hack my way in anyways. Quite a security system you’ve got there, Tiger.”
Tiger? She rolled her eyes. “My dad’s a bit paranoid about identity stuff.”
“Identity theft is easier than people realize.” Hero cut in, nodding in apparent approval of her extreme safety measures.
Kenna nodded, although that’s not what she’d meant at all.
Deciding to take pity on their anxious souls, she unlocked her phone and let them watch as she deleted the picture (after she subtly hit send, of course).
“Blackmail crisis averted, see?” Then, under her breath, “If you don’t want to get caught, wear masks you eggs.”
She moved around them, but there was immediately a hand on each arm. She looked from Hero to Villain and back again.
“It’s almost 1 am. You really think we’re going to let you walk home alone in the dark?” Hero looked affronted.
Oh if only they knew…
She eyed Villain. “You too?”
He shrugged. “The numbers would be uneven for bio labs if you aren’t there.”
She rolled her eyes. “Riiiiight….”
But inside she was grinning like an idiot.
Maybe college wasn’t so bad after all.

Prompt #17
"I can't believe Sidekick would deceive you like that," Lover sombrely muttered. Pulling Hero tighter in their arms, they could feel them shaking, wracking sobs threatening to come out.
"I just don't understand how they could have been a spy this whole time." A sob escaped Hero's mouth, "after all, we all met together at the academy," Hero sniffled. "I just thought the three of us were like family."
"Shhhh I know, I know," Lover faked hesitation, "it hurts me too."
It stung a little for Lover to know that Hero believed them so readily. But if made them shiver in delight to know that Sidekick—ever quick to question Lover's motives—was rotting behind bars in their place.

Prompt #349
Tumblr media
Delicious criossants, how I love their buttery goodness. I hope you enjoy this prompt in payment!
Continuation
A dead end.
The alley was a dead end. At the worst time possible, they hit a dead end. They were cornered, helpless, trapped like a rat in a cage.
"[Hero]? What's going on?" [Civillain] asked, their voice and body shook as [Hero] began to descend into panic.
"Just stay behind me, ok? I won't let anything happen to you." [Hero] swore.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here, my little hero." [Villain] cooed as they slinked out of the darkness. They smirked as [Hero] tried to brace themselves for the inevitable conflict, ushering [Civillain] behind them.
"Oh my! You have a cute little civilian with you, so soft and helpless. You wouldn't mind if I took them home with me, would you dear?"
"You keep away from them, got it? I'll kill you if you touch them!" [Hero] snarled.
"Could you? Because the fact you just ran yourself into a corner to get away from me speaks volumes about your confidence. Or did you put yourself at a disadvantage to be a good sport?"
[Hero] trembled in rage and fear as they mustered up their courage. Then, they charged.

Prompt#2
“Can we go for a walk in the park before dropping me home, pwease?”
“Anything for you, my love,” Superhero replies cheerfully, earning him a chirpy squeak from the girl holding his hands. Ah, how he loves that sweet smile, and pretty much all her other reactions. So much for being the guardian of the city and then falling head over heels for a civilian, he thinks. But you can’t deny she is an absolute angel. A small figure that snuggles up perfectly in his arms with sparkling silver eyes and a heavenly voice, radiating the warmest glow of optimism that Superhero himself questions how on Earth can she be so lively all the time. It’s no doubt that she is loved by everyone who’s met her.
The evening stroll is surely pleasant. Well, everything is when their love is around. But soon that blissful moment is disturbed by a very unwelcoming presence.
“Oh my, look what we have here,” a voice echoes from afar. Instinctively, Superhero pulls their love in close, bracing themselves for whatever being is lurking between the bushes.
“It looks like a pair of love birds is enjoying their night out, eh?”
“Supervillain.”
“Good evening, Superhero,” the criminal greets as they step out of the shadows, revealing a wide, almost bloody, grin.
“If you want to start a fight, you’re going to have to wait until tomorrow,” Superhero says calmly, although his lover can sense reluctance behind his strained voice. He, however, fails to notice the soft smile that has appeared in the corner of her lips and the pair of lustrous eyes starting to glow.
“Oh but Superhero dear,” the master criminal continues. “I want to fight now, and may even have fun with little miss.” The grin before has definitely turned bloody by now. Holding his lover even tighter, anger has penetrated the calm and collected composure. “If you dare lay a finger on her-”
“Then what?” an eerie laugh reverberates into the dark silence. “Then you’ll kill me or something? Or torture me? Dear-”
“Can I say something please?” the little lover suddenly speaks up, slowly pushing Superhero’s arm away.
“Oh, is little miss scared?”
“No,” the girl replies nonchalantly as she lets out a small sigh and reaches inside her handbag. “I’m saying,” pulling out a gun and pointing it straight at the man standing in front of her.
“That you’re ruining my date night.”

Villain x Civilian but instead of the Civilian toning down the Villain's evil plans, it's the Villain holding the Civilian back from punting the hero in the gut. The Villain also ironically happens to be the Civillain's moral compass.
Bonus points if the Villain is actually rumored to be quite ruthless and merciless
Bonus BONUS points if the Civillain is a tired student or retail worker

Chapter 1
One second you were getting off the train stop nearest to your home, surrounded by normal looking people and the next you were standing in a busy station full of people with extra limbs or bright skin colours.
You felt your mind swim in confusion as you stayed still, feet frozen on the ground and eyes darting around the crowds. A familiar mop of green hair and freckles walked past and you quickly ran after.
“Um hello?” you called out, reaching out a hand and grasping his wrist.
“Hi?” he jumped, turning around and nearly tripping over his own feet.
“Sorry!” you said quickly, letting go of his wrist and stepping back. “I thought you looked familiar, maybe not.”
“Ah,” he nodded, pausing slightly before reaching out a hand for a handshake. “Well it’s nice to meet you, I’m Midoriya.”
Your eyes blinked repeatedly, “Like... Midoriya Izuku?”
“Yeah.” he smiled. “I’m guessing you know me from UA’s sports festival?” he rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. “I don’t think I’ve met you before.”
You hurriedly nodded, not wanting to create unwanted suspicion. It was strange to see what had once been a 2d drawing stand before you, and gosh was the human version of him so much cuter.
“I’ve got to go to school now, it was nice meeting you...”
“Y/N.” you smiled, bowing slightly before waving as he ran towards the train.
“Bye Y/N!”
Watching his figure disappear, you realised the reality you had suddenly been thrown into, a fustrated sigh leaving you mouth as you quickly ran towards the exit. Your eyes blurred with tears as the calls you made to people in your world  refused to go through.
You were stranded.
~~~
Sitting down at the table of a small cafe, you took a sip from your favourite drink as a snowstorm of questions running through your mind. The worldmaster? Alternate dimensions?
You had never once considered that the people in this world were actually alive and not just animated characters. And the worldmasters quirk had accidentally brought you, who was from your dimension, into theirs?
“So...? How do I leave?” you finally asked, deciding that even though you didn’t fully believe this guy, he was the only person knowing of the fact that you were not from here.
“Well it’s simple actually.”
“Really?” you piped up, a smile gracing your features for the first time since you had stepped foot here.
“Yeah.” the worldmaster, Haru nodded, “Since this is like a book to you, you just need to talk to your favourite character.”
“Favourite character?” you racked through your brain to see who was your favourite, your smile and hope instantly shattering as the image of a man with a plague doctor’s mask entered your brain.
“Yeah I don’t think that’s going to happen.” you sulked, burrowing your face into hands as the worldmaster looked at you puzzled.
“Why is that? UA doesn’t have the highest security and pro heros are always happy to talk to their fans.”
“That’s not it.” you groaned, shaking your head before taking another simp.
“Is it a civillain?”
You shook your head once again.
He sucked his teeth in before continuing. “A villain?”
You looked at him and nodded with a sigh.
“Well that’s not the biggest problem either. LOV is all over the kids these days.”
You srunched your nose at him. “Ew, don’t say it like that. And it’s not them either.”
“Are you seriously going to leave me hanging?”
You glared at him, before speaking quickly. “It’s the bloody yakuza.”
He looked at you, mouth open. “Your favourite character, in the whole of our world, is in the Shie Hassaikai.”
“Shut up.” you mumbled, hiding your face as you heard his cackles ring out through the entire shop, red spreading through your face as everyone’s attention turned to you two. “Shut up you’re so obnoxious.”
He eventually died down, before continuing. “Well, there’s no such thing as impossible, I’ll try my best to help you, after all I’m the reason your in this mess.” he sighed.
“You’d better.” you seethed, pouting from the embarrassment. “And how come you’re not helping the heros if you know everything about the past, present and future in this world?”
“I would end up like my ancestor.” he explained. “Our family, as the world masters must remain completely unbiased. In this world we are simply civilians who are socially neutral.”
“Gee, sounds kinda boring.” you snickered, placing the empty cup down on the table. “So where am I staying?”
That’s a good question.”
“Please tell me you have an answer.”
“Well let’s get you closer to the world of heros and villains first.”
“Um, I don’t have a quirk.”
“No worries. I’ll take care of it.”
“Wait no I don’t want a quirk, Overhaul doesn’t like them.”
“I can’t just manifest you a quirk.” he stated, rolling his eyes. “I mean I’ll get you to stay with one of them.”
“What-”
~~~
You stood with your phone in hand, staring up at the dingy alleyway sign. “God I hate it here.” you muttered, wondering why the hell Haru had directed you to this musty highstreet bar. You knew you had to entually start earning money, as your mission at hand did not seem achievable in one day, but out of an entire city’s worth of jobs to apply for, the one he chose for you was... this?
You began to take a step forward before the door swung open suddenly, hitting you square in the face. Staggering a step back, your hands flew over your nose as blood slowly seeped out.
“Shit.” someone yelled. You heard a thump to the ground and watched as he threw the trash bag onto the floor before grabbing your hands. “Hold on let me see.”
“It’s fine.” you grumbled, shaking his grip off before stepping to the side of the door to let him through.
“Dabi.” someone screamed from inside the bar. “Hurry up and throw the trash away and get back in here.”
“Can’t you just wait a minute.” he shouted back. “Fuck um, I’ll be right back.”
He fumbled past, picking up the trash and running down the street as you walked inside, not bothering to wait for him.
“Hi.” you greeted, everyone to turn to you perplexed as you pinced your nose, your blood messibly wiped on your chin.
Shigaraki raised an eyebrow at you from behind his father’s hand as you stood there awkwardly.
“Wow not even a greeting in return? Rude much.” you grumbled, before clearing your throught to hopefully get rid of some of your nerves. “Um, are you hiring?”
“What?”
“Like, do you have any vacancies in your staff so that little old me could possibly occupy?”
“I know what hiring means.”
“Yeah well iI’m sure it didn’t hurt to explain it to you again.” you muttered.
“No, we are not hiring.” the purple mist behind the counter, whom you recognised to be Kurogiri, said. “Although miss are you alright there?”
“I don’t even know.” you rasped. “Why the fuck did Haru send me here if you guys aren’t even hiring?”
“Haru sent you here?” Shigarki perked up.
You nodded and he turned to look at Kurogiri, quietly exchanging words before looking back at you.
“You should’ve mentioned that to begin with. Alright you’re hired. ”
“Excuse me?”
“Little old you can occupy the vacancy in our staff.” he deadpanned.
You huffed out before grinning at him and throwing him a thumbs up. “Epic!”
You shuffled over to the counter, peering at Kurogiri eagerly. “So when do I start?”
“You can start by wiping the tables miss...”
“Y/N.”
“Right, miss Y/N.”
“Wipe your face before you start anything.” Shigaraki muttered, pointing over to a small door in the far corner of the room.
“Will do.”
Slipping into the bathroom, you pulled out your phone, him picking up a few rings in. “Haru I thought you said you weren’t biased, why the hell does the league act like they’re best friends with you.”
“I’m not biased if I’m friends with both sides?” he offers.
“Backstabber.” you quipped, washing your face.
“You know what? Enjoy your home because you’re staying with the league now.”
“You did not.” you screeched, grabbing your phone from the side as you watched him hang up. “You’re so petty you know that?” you muttered, glaring at your reflection in the mirror before exiting the bathroom.
“Right, who’s gonna show me my room?”

Writing Snippet #19: The Voicemail
It was the dog at her side who warned her of his approach.
Normally she was much more in tune with her surroundings. It was the whole reason she’d come to the park in the early morning hours, to soak in the peaceful stillness, hear the birds chirping, and feel the morning sun on her face.
But her thoughts raced within even as she sat on the familiar park bench, her eyes closed as the rays of the morning sun danced across her skin. It was colder this year than it had been on that day.
But today she was alone.
Except for whoever had decided to join her on this particular fall morning.
She acknowledged her dog’s signal but didn’t open her eyes. Leaves crunched on the path, footsteps coming closer until they were nearly past her.
She stiffened as the air went silent.
“Cecelia?”
The familiar rich voice sent a stab of pain through her chest—an injury she’d thought healed long ago.
Why would he be here, today of all days? He’d made his choice, so he had no need to come relive the memories. She clenched her hands together in her lap.
“Hello, Hero.” She was surprised and relieved at how neutral her voice sounded.
She heard a shaky inhale. “Cece…” Her heart tripped at the nickname that was singularly his.
Leaves rustled and she tensed. Her dog let out a small growl, warning him against coming any closer.
Good boy, Bingo.
Hero had noticed her discomfort as well. “You don’t want to see me.”
There had been a time that was all she wanted.
She tipped her head back even further, focusing on the sun seeping into her skin rather than the raw grief clawing its way to the surface.
“I called you.” He hadn’t answered.
“Yes, I know.”
“I left you a voicemail.” A part of her harbored the hope he’d never gotten it, that it hadn’t been his choice to abandon her.
“I know.” His voice was strangled, pained.
The tiny hope withered and died.
Then her head was in her hands, fingers digging into her hair as the old pain resurfaced with the memories of that night. “You didn’t come find me.” The words slipped out before she could stop them.
He took in a shuddering breath. “No. I didn’t.”
Tears slipped down her cheeks, and she pressed her face more firmly into her hands.
No. He hadn’t come. And she’d been left alone. In the darkest moment of her life.
“Cece.” He was crouched down in front of her now.
She wondered why her loyal companion hadn’t bitten his face off yet.
“I’m sorry. When I came home and saw the papers strewn across the floor, the table half set…”
She bit back a sob. She’d wanted to surprise him with dinner. Not for anything special. Just because. It had been the anniversary of the day they’d met. A date she was sure he’d forgotten. She’d gone over while he was still working at the fire station. Begged a key off the landlord. She’d been in the middle of setting the table when...
“I honestly didn’t think you’d want me to come.”
She’d left that voicemail begging him to come.
“Because you couldn’t love me like that?” The words overflowed with bitterness. He’d said he’d always love her. No matter what.
“Of course I loved you! Enough to let you—”
“I swear, if you say ‘let me go’…” she growled the words through her hands, filled them with all the pain and heartbreak and anger living inside her stitched-together heart.
A twig snapped as he stood and took a few steps back. He was probably running his hands through his hair, like he always did when he was agitated. He’d often put off getting it trimmed, and the soft waves were constantly falling in his eyes. She wished she could peak up through her hands and see the adorable way he’d push the waves back, only to have them immediately fall back into place.
“I know I don’t deserve anything from you, but even after all this time, can you really not bear to even look at me?”
She let out a hiss and pressed a hand against her chest to stifle the pain those words brought. Bear to look at him? She let out a sharp laugh, bitter and without humor. He’d gotten her voicemail. He knew. How dare he ask that of her.
Cecelia raised her head and opened her eyes.
Not that it made a difference in the blackness that was now her world.
She heard him inhale sharply. She fought the instinct to close her ruined eyes. She’d never seen them of course, but the nurses had told her of the unsettling milky sheen now coating her once-blue eyes.
Wood creaked as he settled beside her on the bench.“What happened?” His voice was so achingly tender.
The memories of what had happened were like acid, making her eyes burn just like they had that night. The masked intruder in the hallway. The brilliant flash of light. The intense pain in her eyes that sent her to her knees.
She’d told him in the voicemail. Not everything, but most of it.
When she didn’t answer, he shifted close, interrupting her thoughts. “Cece, how long have you been blind?”
A shiver prickled along the back of her neck. Something was wrong. The way he was reacting…
“Two years ago today.” The day of their anniversary. The day she’d hoped he’d ask her to be his for the rest of their lives.
The silence that followed made her desperately wish she could see his face. His voice was excruciatingly calm when he finally asked, “The day you left was the day you went blind?”
“I-I called you.” Her words were barely audible. She heard his sharp intake of breath, but forced herself to continue. “You didn’t answer. I was scared and alone and in so much pain… I didn’t know what else to do. So I left you that voicemail.” The admission cost her more than she cared to admit.
“The voicemail—”
“I waited all night for you to call. For you to come. But you didn’t.” Her voice broke at the end, and she stood and stepped away from the bench, not wanting Hero to see the tears escaping the corners of her eyes.
Bingo pressed up against her side, and the feel of his soft fur beneath her fingers gave her the strength to say the words she’d held inside for almost three years.
“You left me,” she whispered to the wind. “You promised you’d always love me, and when I needed you most you weren’t there.”
“Cecelia.” He was standing behind her now, close enough she could feel the brush of his clothes against her back. “I didn’t listen to the voicemail.”
The words sank in, and relief washed over her, but was quickly followed by confusion and pain.
If not her blindness, then why? What had she done to have pushed him away? To make him never want to speak to her again?
“Why not?” She could hardly breathe as she waited for the answer she wasn’t sure she was ready to hear.
“I didn’t listen to the voicemail,” he repeated slowly. His voice was closer now. She heard him take a steadying breath. “Because I thought you left me.”
“Why would I leave you?” He’d been her entire world.
“The file was on the floor.”
“File?” Her nose crinkled up in confusion. “What file?”
“The file—I’d left it at home. Didn’t realize until… when I came home and the papers were spread across the floor…” His hands ghosted over her arms for the briefest moment before abruptly pulling away. Her traitorous heart leapt and then fell at the almost touch.
“I know I should have told you sooner who I was—what I was… but I was so afraid. So afraid I’d lose you. And when I saw the plates on the table, I knew you’d been there. I thought you’d seen—”
Cecelia closed her eyes. Tried to remember that night. The intruder had held papers in his hands… had that been the file Hero was talking about? She remembered being surprised someone would think a firefighter would have information worth stealing.
“I didn’t read any files.”
“What?”
“By the time I got to the hospital…” Her voice gave out, and she couldn’t continue as the horror and the panic that she’d felt when the doctor gave his diagnosis hit her again.
“I thought you didn't want to come.” The admission tore out of the still-ragged part of her heart, and she distantly registered a pained noise coming from Hero, but she couldn’t stop the next words.
The ones that had beaten themselves into her mind and heart since she’d laid awake all night long on a stiff hospital bed, waiting for him to come. Praying he would come before her vision was completely gone, so she could see his face one last time. The words that had been the only explanation she’d been able to find for why the man who’d had a ring hidden in the back of the silverware drawer had abandoned her to face a darkening world alone.
“I thought you didn’t love me anymore because I was blind.”
Hero went completely still at her words. “Oh. Oh, darling, is that what you’ve thought all this time?”
She tilted her head down, wanting to hide from the warm gaze she could feel following every tear.
Leaves crunched beneath his feet as he slid closer.
“I have no right, at all, to ask. But please, please love, let me hold you.”
Anything she did now would only lead to more pain. So what if he hadn’t known about her blindness before? He knew now. And once the reality set in, once he saw the limitations of her disability, he wouldn’t stay. And she wouldn’t recover from the loss. Not this time.
But right now, all she wanted was to feel his arms around her again.
She gave the tiniest of nods.
With excruciating slowness, his hands rested against her face. His thumbs gently wiping away her tears before his hands slid down her shoulders and pulled her into the familiar circle of his arms.
Her arms came around him as she sobbed into his chest.
She was dimly aware of him leading her back to the bench, of him pulling her down beside him, but all she cared about was the hand running gently over her hair, the arm pulling her snug against him, and the way she still fit perfectly in his arms.
The moment ended too soon.
She felt his arms loosen, and though he didn’t pull away, she knew he wanted to.
“So you don’t know what was in the file.” His hand slid across her hair one more time before falling away.
“No.” What could possibly make her not love him? The worst thing she could imagine was if he’d cheated on her… and there was no way he’d done that.
“I kept it a secret for so long. I always knew one day you’d figure it out and I was terrified you’d leave me. And then when I came home to those damning papers strewn across the floor and my worst fears had come true. I thought your voicemail was goodbye, and I didn't listen to it because… well, I knew, I knew, love, that if I heard your voice one last time, I wouldn’t be able to keep myself from going after you. And if you wanted to leave, who was I to stop you?”
The words both healed and hurt, soothed and shattered the jagged pieces of her heart.
Cecelia leaned into Hero, unable to bear the distance he’d put between them any longer. His arms automatically came around her, but they were stiff, waiting.
So she asked.
“What was in the file?” What secret was so terrible you thought I would stop loving you?
His chin rested on the top of her head and his arm’s tightened around her, as though he was afraid she would pull away. She should. Every moment spent in his embrace would only make his inevitable departure more painful.
“Proof.” His voice was resigned as his arms dropped, taking away her choice. “Proof that I was—that I am Villain.”

Prompt #11
"WHY? WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE?" The Villain shouted. After taking a breath, they looked back down at Civilian's crumpled form. "I could have given you anything," their voice cracked as if they almost felt bad. Almost.
"Sure, anything except my freedom," Civilian spat.

Prompt #413
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoy!
"This is surprisingly pleasant for a kidnapping." [Civillain] tentatively spoke up. There weren't any of the chains or dark dungeons they had been expecting when they were dragged off the street by the notorious [Super Villain]. No, instead, they found themself sitting comfortably on a plush sofa in a cozy-looking loft room.
Still, they were scared. Scared pointing out the kind treatment would cause it to shatter. For the supervillain to smirk evilly and drag them kicking and screaming to a dark room where they would never be heard from again.
Instead, [Super Villain] smiled shyly, "Well, I know I didn't make the best first impression, but I'm hoping may we can start over?"

She-Hulk and Explosion Boy part 8
Word count: 1,338
Pairing: Bakugo x fem!reader
Warnings: swearing
A/N: This is the last part for now, I´m not really feeling this fanfic anymore
The next day at school was normal, it seemed as if nothing had happened between the two of you, but you were glad at it.
You didn´t want to be one of those annoying couples who made out in the hallways, they always made you sick to your stomach. And Bakugo wasn´t a fan of PDA because of his insecurities.
Besides, if you made it official this soon after getting together, all of your friends would tease the shit out of you.
And… let´s be honest, you didn´t know how long you´d be together.
You wanted to prevent the questions whether you would make it or not that would arise.
Because yes, you wanted it to work, wanted to prove those wrong who thought it was impossible, impossible for you to get a boyfriend and impossible for Bakugo to feel anything else but hate.
They could fucking suck it, it was none of their damn business.
Before long Aizawa slouched into the classroom and announced that you would partake in a week long internship at Pro Hero agencies.
A smile built on your face as you thought about working alongside Pros, you could already picture the thrill going through your body when you would get to go on a mission with them. And even if you didn´t, they would still share their tips and great stories with you.
You really looked forward to it.
The lessons flew by quickly and in lunch break you talked to your friends about where you would want to have your internship.
Everyone was equally excited and already had wishes of their ideal agencies, you on the other hand were open to every thing.
You did work with pros occasionally so you didn´t mind which agency you got, you basically knew every one of them.
After a few days it was time for your internships to start, you chose the same agency as Mina, it was the one you last worked with in the summer break.
They were really nice and focused on fighting smaller villains and helping civillains as much as they can before the police or firemen could arrive.
Sure, it wasn´t as flamboyant as some of the other agencies, but that didn´t mean it wasn´t as important. In fact you thought those small agencies were even more important than the big popular heroes. After all there was only so much that those figures could do.
The week flew by really fast, there was so much to do. Mina´s and your work was paperwork for one and occasionally you were allowed to go on patrol with the heroes.
You wondered what Bakugo was doing right now, you knew he was at the agency from Best Jeanist, this surprised you since it didn´t really seem to be his style. But who knew, maybe he would learn something from it. You knew that the pro hero had many fans and was very reliable, so it couldn´t be that bad.
At your lunch break Mina checked your group chat, keeping your friends updated and seeing how they were doing. However you didn´t really pay attention because at the same time Bakugo sent you a picture of himself, showing his new very uncharacteristic hairstyle, along with a text that said: ´Do you still like me?´.
You couldn´t help but laugh out loud at that, immediately responding: ´Yes, you idiot, it looks cute´.
“What´s so funny?” Mina tried to look at your phone, but you quickly pressed it against your chest.
“Nothing!” you replied way too fast, but she just cocked an eyebrow, Mina wasn´t one to press the matter if you didn´t want to talk about it.
“If you say so” she mischievously smiled.
The week passed by quicker than you liked, the internship was very fun and you learned some essential things.
Back at school it was already time for your final exams, so you and your friends were busy training for that.
Bakugo and you worked out together at the gym, pushing each other and helping out.
It was fun and you got to see him flex for you, which was always a plus.
Though, you did roll your eyes at him after a while since he got too cocky.
“Oh, hi guys, you´re here too?” Kirishima and Mina came up to you, Kirishima wore a big grin and Mina raised an eyebrow at you to which you blushed, she was totally on to you.
“Of course we are, we gotta train for the exams” you chuckled.
“Going to the gym isn´t the most romantic date idea, but I guess it fits you two...” Mina remarked, giggling, making you scoff.
“We´re not on a date...” you defended yourself, already embarrassed by the looks the two gave you.
“Yeah, we can go on plenty of dates after the exams are over” Bakugo smugly laid an arm around you, you just wanted to sink into the ground right now.
You wanted to keep it a secret at least a little bit longer.
“Finally, you guys!” Kirishima laughed, giving Mina a high-five.
“So who confessed first?” Mina asked.
“That would be me!” you laughed.
“See, told ya he´d never admit it first” Kirishima nudged Mina slightly, making her pout.
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean, shitty hair? Were you making bets about us or what?” Bakugo pulled you closer to him and yelled at your friends.
“I wouldn´t call them bets, we were just discussing a lot since it was so obvious you liked each other” Mina thought out loud, defending your friend group.
“How the fuck was it obvious?!” you and Bakugo yelled at the same time, making them snicker.
“(Y/N), you literally called Blasty here babe at the sports festival” Kirishima chuckled.
“Guys, do you remember that fight you had? And you were feeling so shitty because of it, you overthought everything involving him, trust me, it was obvious from the start” Mina chimed in.
“And why the hell is that fight we had so important for us being together?” Bakugo asked, he was embarrassed realizing how obvious it really was, after all he was pining after you ever since he first saw you at the entrance exam.
“Bakugo, don´t get me started on how obvious it was from your side” Mina laughed.
“It wasn´t!” he defended himself, blushing and then taking your hand and leaving the gym. You apologetically waved goodbye to your friends.
“I´m taking you out on a date when the exams are over” Bakugo announced after he dropped you off at home.
Your heart skipped a beat as you smiled at him, kissing him on the cheek unexpectedly to which he blushed madly.
The exams came quicker than you liked and you found yourself getting quite nervous when you found out what you had to do to pass.
“We have to fight against the teachers? Seriously? We´re never gonna make it….” Sero whined and Kaminari patted his back in sympathy.
“I don´t like your attitude, Hanta, we got this!” you gave him a big thumbs up and smiled. You two were up against Midnight, but you already had a strategy.
“As long as we don´t breathe in her scent, we should be fine” you whispered in his ear, hiding behind a boulder.
Sero understood and taped your mouths shut, now you just had to wait until Midnight would be close enough for you to put the handcuffs on her.
You and Sero really made a good team, he might seem lazy to an extent to some people, careless even, but you and your friends knew better, he was reliable and brave.
When you caught a glimpse of Midnight´s legs, you dashed forward to cuff her, not taking her by surprise but that didn´t matter, you were still fast enough to make it.
You met up with everyone once the day was done to go home together.
Kaminari, Kirishima and Mina were all sad that they didn´t pass, however you tried to cheer them up as much as possible.
