a/n: Iwaizumi rattles off some late-night thoughts to you while you’re “sleeping.” little does he know your eyes may not be open, but your ears are still catching quite a few of his one-sided conversations.

Incoherent whispering. Soft, short rambles. Maybe he was sleep-talking?

At least that’s what you thought when you first heard Iwaizumi’s voice over the gentle hum of the ceiling fan and against the muted song of the cicadas buzzing outside of the bedroom window.

But as the nights passed, you began to hone in on the contents of Iwaizumi’s mumbling.

His words were… pointed. Holding an air of quiet confidence and trickling ever so gently into your ear like a lullaby. Sometimes it had to do with his day. Other times it was about how cute you’d looked that morning, still fast asleep while he was getting dressed for work.

But whatever the topic is, you’ve grown used to the conversations that he’s been having with the back of your head.

And here you are again. Lying stiff as a twig by Iwaizumi’s side and listening intently to his voice.

“I wish you’d heard what Shittykawa did today…” He rasps softly.

“...Even though he’s all the way in Argentina, literally surrounded by beaches and resorts, he still hardly takes a day off. That dumbass sprained his ankle and kept practicing for another hour.” Iwaizumi sighed, his thumb barely skimming the surface of your forearm.

If you’d actually been asleep (like he’d thought you were), you’re sure you wouldn’t have felt the brush of his fingertips. It was too delicate. Too careful.

Honestly, you’re just glad he still holds you this tenderly. Especially late at night when you’d least expect his affection. After all, you’ve not had a chance to cuddle with him in a while.

Iwaizumi had been getting home later every single day for the past few weeks and for good reason. He felt obligated to stay with Japan’s national team into the darker hours of the night as the Olympic games approached. And you admire his dedication. You’re so proud of him for chasing after his passions and it would never dawn on you to undermine his career by holding your relationship with him over his head.

But this usually meant that, by the time he cracked the bedroom door open, you two would only have a few moments to share some words and a quick kiss before tucking under the covers. You, of course, missed his voice. And he longed to hear yours.

However, as you closed your tired eyes, Iwaizumi’s would remain wide open, body and mind relentlessly processing through another intense day. You’ve never said a word to him about his shifting and deep sighs, worried that he might feel guilty for keeping you awake with him. Yet still, you feel Iwaizumi’s exhaustion in the way his weary arm drapes around your waist. There’s a tautness, a sort of tension, there.

So you do your best to remain completely still in his hold, hoping that your outward calm would bring him some inward peace. That your steady breath might lull him into a state of rest. That you could be the anchor to his rocking boat, like he’d always been for you when your life got windy and overwhelming. But even with your best, silent efforts, he stayed alert and somewhat unsteady.

That’s when the whispery words would start… and you soon came to the realization that he was talking to you.

You hear the rustle of his hair as he runs a firm hand through it. A small smile adorns your lips as he continues his line of thought, Iwaizumi’s breath wafting across the back of your neck.

“Y/n, he’s such an idiot and he won’t listen to me anymore… maybe I’ll get you to text him tomorrow. You’re so good for him and… maybe a little nicer than I am.” Iwaizumi admits.

There’s a pause and you wonder if that’s it. If that’s the end of his dialogue for the night… but there’s more this time.

“And, God y/n, I missed you today.”

The confession shakes you. Your chest tightens as you try to take it all in.

You’re pretty sure you weren’t supposed to hear that.

Those words were reserved for the most... intimate of moments. For trembling tears or reunions after long distances or maybe hot, heavy kisses after a frustrating day. But, as a general rule, you hardly ever heard those tender remarks out of the blue. After all, Iwaizumi is a man of actions and not so much a lover of words.

So this is new, to say the least. You’re dumbstruck. Your heart is beating far faster than it should be - especially since you’ve been dating him for over a year now.

However, it wasn’t just the words that stunned you. His tone was different too. Where there usually would be, there wasn’t an ounce of embarrassment in Iwaizumi’s voice. It wasn’t rushed; not bashful or heated like some of his past devotions and confessions had seemed.

Tonight’s Iwaizumi is perfectly sincere. No, not just sincere. Fond. 

Fond and maybe a tad wistful. Vocal inflection isn’t exactly Iwa’s forte, at least not when it came to sweet words in passing. So this is a historical moment in your book.

Thus, you let your cheeks burn a little longer and shut your eyes a little tighter in order to hear his next words.

“And I miss your voice.” He adds, tone dropping into what seems like… longing.

Iwaizumi pulls you a little closer into his bare chest, the rise and fall breath now pushing up against your own back. He’s really pushing it now.

It feels wrong listening into a conversation when the words are meant for you, but at the same time they aren’t. Who wouldn’t be conflicted? He had clearly trusted that your closed eyes and barely moving figure meant you were deeply asleep. That you couldn’t possibly hear a word he was saying.

I mean you had to say something, right?

So you inhale quietly, preparing to insert yourself into the one-sided discussion.

“...I wish you’d said something sooner, Iwa.”

You almost startle yourself with your own voice, the once soft atmosphere of the moonlit room, turning frigid.

Iwaizumi’s whole body goes stiff, arms frozen in place. He holds his breath and the gentle tickling of air on your neck pauses with it.

You shift your head to look back at him, his eyes already peering into your own. He was red. Beet red. Enough so that you could see it in the dim light of the room. You could practically feel the heat radiating off of his neck and arms, embarrassment flooding through every inch of his body.

“How… how long have you been listening to me?” Iwaizumi whispers, voice wavering almost as though he doesn’t want to hear your answer.

You blink.

Should you only tell him about tonight?

Or would it be better to let him know that he hasn’t had a single midnight conversation this week that you hadn’t listened in on?

You opt for honesty, knowing that he would probably be able to tell if you were lying anyways.

“Everything from this past… week?” You say shyly, slinking away from him, but one of Iwaizumi’s strong arms holds you in place.

His head falls back to his pillow and the other arm covers his eyes. As many times as he’d slipped up in front of you, he’d really done it this time. You must think he’s so strange. Why was he always doing stuff like this? Of course you would hear him.

I should’ve just kept my damn mouth shut, Iwaizumi thinks, his body still being flamed by an internal furnace from all the other embarrassing things he now remembers rattling off to you in your ‘sleeping’ state.

“But I liked listening to you.” You cut in quickly, sensing his discomfort and attempting to smooth it over with gentle words.

“And we… don’t get to talk much lately. So I- I just didn’t want to say anything because… I like the sound of your voice. You’re actually very soothing, Iwa.” You’re still sleepy, so the words come out choppily... but considering the circumstances, it wasn’t the worst recovery.

If it weren’t for the blushing male in front of you, you would probably feel just as flustered by the whole situation. But somehow, you kept your cool, too focused on calming Iwaizumi down in his flushed state.

“...Y/n?”

“Yes?” You breathe out.

“Just… just come here already.” He takes his hand away from his burning face and turns toward you.

You’re immediately pulled snug against him, your front meeting his chest, legs twining around his toned ones. Iwaizumi has a hand behind your neck tucking you into the crook of his neck as he hides his face from you, chin resting softly atop your head.

“I’ll call Oikawa tomorrow.” You joke, breaking the tension.

“It’s shittykawa.” He corrects. “And please forget about everything I said.” His tone dropping, turning sour.

A humored sigh leaves your lips.

He feels your mouth smiling faintly against his collar bone, which only sends him further into this embarrassed affection for you.

You were really something.

Never making him feel bad for running late hours. Letting him crawl into bed with you way past midnight when you could easily demand more time from him. Listening to his rambles, some more crass than others, consciously without judgement.

He’d found a treasure in you. A golden, shimmering treasure that didn’t need light to be seen. You shone even under the pale, underwhelming moonlight that peered through the window blinds.

So Iwaizumi finds himself pressing a few soft kisses onto your forehead. You plant a couple lingering ones on his neck in return and he squeezes you even closer into him.

And just as the two of you begin to drift off, you decide to top the night off with a cherry of sorts.

“Iwa?”

“Yes, y/n?” His voice at a whisper, once again.

“I’ve missed you too.”

You never know— you might just end up spending the whole night sleepless, trembling in fear. Set Home: Roar~ How was that? I’m a dragon ghost. Home Idle 1: It is said that on Halloween night, the ghouls that served under the Witch of Thorns dance round a fire all night long. They’re party animals, surprisingly. Home Idle 2: I can remember the day I met a genuine Long from the East like it was yesterday. Their crimson scales were truly a sight to behold. Home Idle 3: Most sweets are delicious, but marshmallows aren’t my cup of tea. I can’t feel satisfied after eating them. Home Login: Trick or treat…… what? Have you already gotten used to my pranks? Then I’ll just have to prepare something extra special for you. Home Idle Groovy: If I were a real Long, I could give you a ride on my back. Shall I give you a piggyback ride instead? Home Tap 1: Ugh, the horns on this hat are heavy. And Malleus always has to deal with these on his head? Home Tap 2: My red nails are cute, right? I had Vil paint them. It seems these crimson nails are some kind of long lasting thing called “gel nail polish”. Home Tap 3: Silver and Sebek used to be such scaredy-cats way back when. The morning after Halloween, they’d do laundry all day without complaint. Home Tap 4: Have you seen Ace? The way he’s always eating Trey’s sweets makes them look so delicious, so I made some too. Home Tap 5: Whoops. Because of my height, the tail is a tripping hazard dragging on the ground. You should take care not to step on it either. Home Tap Groovy: ACHOO! …...Excuse me, the peacock feathers tickled my nose.

Personal Story I’ll Scare You to My Heart’s Content: Chapter 1

-Interior Hallway-

Ace: This is around where the Halloween Organization Committee was having their meeting, right? I was told to submit an application for using magic in our production, but…… Dorm Leader Riddle is super impatient, but if I wait a bit, Cater will come back to the dorm. Sebek: Silver!!! Don’t you dare fall asleep again!!!! Ace: Hm? That voice must be...... Of course it’s Sebek…… and Silver-senpai. What are you guys doing here? Sebek: Hm…… If it isn’t Ace. We’d like for Lord Lilia and the Young Master to review our decorations. So we’re waiting for the meeting to end. Ace: Wouldn’t be easier to just shoot them a text saying, “Let me know when the meeting is over.” You don’t have to wait right outside the door for the meeting to end. Sebek: You think that I could call those two on a smartphone!? There’s no way I’d do such a disrespectful thing!!!!! Ace: Okay, okay. I don’t know what’s so disrespectful about that, but I’ll wait for the meeting to end with you guys. All: ………………………… Silver: Zzzz...... Sebek: Silver! Don’t use me to prop yourself up while you fall asleep!!!! Silver: Ah! Sorry. Ace: Sebek, you’re way too loud. They’re having a meeting in there, so turn it down a notch. Sebek: Guh…… Of course, I wouldn’t want to get in the way of the Young Master’s work. Ace: Isn’t he falling asleep ‘cause we’re just standing around silently? Though I don’t think they’re used any differently than jack o’ lanterns…… Ace: Wow, what else? Silver: Then…… When the moon rises high in the night sky, a scarecrow is burned in the castle’s town square, and people in costume dance around it. Ace: I see. So it’s like a midnight costume dance party. Sebek: It is not something as frivolous as some social event. It's a feast for ghosts where all the evil spirits in the land run rampant! …...I’m trembling just remembering Halloween ten years ago…... Ace: Yeah right~ You’re totally exaggerating. Sebek: I am not exaggerating!!!!!! You can only say that because you haven’t seen it for yourself!!!! Silver: He’s right…… What Sebek says is true. Halloween in the Valley of Thorns......is truly terrifying…... Ace: Huh? Even Silver-senpai is agreeing……

Lilia: Sebek, Silver. Sorry to keep you waiting. I voice hear your voice from all the way inside. Malleus: It’s fine if you wait, but be a bit quieter while there’s a meeting in session. Sebek: My...... My apologies...... Cater: What’s this? Ace is here too. What’s up? Ace: I brought the documents Dorm Leader Riddle told us to submit. Here they are. But I had some free time while I was waiting, so we got to talking about Halloween in the Valley of Thorns...... Sebek got all heated and said, “There’s nothing more terrifying!” Cater: Wow, I didn’t think Halloween in the Valley of Thorns was so scary. It’s said that life in the Valley of Thorns is centered around magic…… Do you also use magic to decorate? Malleus: Yes. Most of our decorations use magic. As for scariness, it depends on the person. Lilia: So about Halloween in the Valley of Thorns…… Well, where should I begin? Malleus: As Diamond stated earlier, life in the Valley of Thorns revolves around magic for the most part. Lilia: That’s right. So, the light from decorative Halloween lanterns aren’t from LEDs, but from fire magic. The lanterns are also made from carved wood, not pumpkins. Many of them are carved to resemble the ancestors of the followers of the night, like dragons and bats. Sebek: On the actual day of Halloween a lighting ceremony is held wherein the Young Master lights all the lanterns in the country with magic. The sight of the Young Master lighting those noble green flames can only be described as awe-inspiring. Ace: He uses fire magic to light all the lanterns in the entire country!? Cater: Is Malleus’s magical strength seriously that crazy!? Malleus: The Valley of Thorns is a small country that has less territory and fewer people than the Rose Kingdom. It’s not a particularly notable feat. Lilia: I remember the day the Queen first asked Malleus to light the lanterns. Malleus: ! Lilia! Don’t tell them that story……! Lilia: It was a catastrophe— Malleus was so enthusiastic he made a mistake in the amount of force he was using, and burned all the lanterns in the entire country. Houses and fields were set ablaze, and the whole nation worked together until morning to extinguish the fire. Malleus: ....... Lilia: The incident was engraved into the history of the Land of Thorns as “The Halloween Fire.” Sebek: I can’t believe it……! What a wonderful event to make the populace recognize the Young Master’s power! Ace: No matter how you look at it, isn’t burning peoples’ houses down no laughing matter……? Cater: As expected of Malleus. Even as a kid, he’s been on a completely different level. I couldn’t imagine him dressed up in a ghost costume, going around to all the neighbors, asking for candy with a, “Trick or Treat”~ Malleus: You’re right, I certainly haven’t ever done that. Though in the first place, the tradition of distributing sweets on Halloween does not exist in the Land of Thorns. Cater: Whaaaat, no way! Ace: In the Rose Kingdom, that’s the main event. Lilia: It’s true. The first time I learned of the custom of handing out candy was when I traveled to other countries. It’s a good tradition. Innocent children happy to receive candy are so cute. That’s why I wanted to let Silver enjoy it…… However, we lived far away from any other people. As a replacement for him being unable to go around a neighborhood to visit houses, I was the only one Silver could ask for candy. Silver: And I knocked on your door endlessly until my bucket was full. Ace: Wow, Silver-senpai and Lilia-senpai were neighbors. Silver: Neighbors, huh…… Well, you’re not wrong. Lilia: Silver asking for sweets over and over again was so adorable! No matter how many times he did it, he’d always laugh so happily. Malleus: We never did that, did we? Lilia: Why, do you want to do it too, Malleus? How about we do it this year? Malleus: Lilia, just how old do you think I am? Lilia: Age doesn’t matter as long as you’re having fun. Sebek: If you wish it, Young Master, I shall give you sweets as many times as you desire! Malleus: I’m saying I’m not going to do it. I’m no longer a child. Sebek: My…… My apologies. I’ve overstepped my position. Lilia: Kufufu. The part of Malleus that thinks like that is still a child, no? Ace: By the way, you said that Halloween in the Valley of Thorns is super scary, but none of this is scary at all. Silver: The scary part is what happens with the scarecrow in the castle’s town square…… Malleus: In the Valley of Thorns, it’s customary to burn a scarecrow in the middle of the castle’s town square at midnight on Halloween. And people in ghost costumes dance around the fire until morning…… Ace: Oh yeah, that’s the midnight dance party that you mentioned earlier. Sebek: That’s right…… And what’s truly terrifying is Lilia, dancing around the burning scarecrow, illuminated by flames!! Silver: Halloween ten years ago was especially horrifying…… An ominous dance you would never in a million years imagine could come from our usual Lillia-senpai…… Malleus: Ah…… Remembering that day makes even me feel like my entire body is freezing over. Lilia: What’s with you guys? In my youthful impetuousness, I just cut loose a little bit. Ace: Lilia-senpai’s dance…… But he doesn’t look scary at all. Sebek: You can only say that because you haven’t seen it for yourself!!!!! Malleus: His uncanny wriggling body was like a venomous snake, and just hearing his hoarse laughing voice felt like you were being cursed. Silver: His shadow stretched long across the cobblestones in the square looked like a giant demon that kidnaps children. Sebek: Both children and adults alike were terrified of his appearance and with a single glance returned home, trembling, and waited for the nightmare to end. Silver: Some of the children who witnessed Lilia-senpai had recurring bed-wetting issues. Ace: No way, you guys are totally trying to pull a fast one on us! Cater: Ahaha, even Malleus and the others got in on Lilia’s joke, and are playing along surprisingly well~☆ Though I think it’s true that the husky shouting he uses sometimes in Casual Music Club is a bit scary. Malleus, Silver, Sebek: (Lord) Lilia(-senpai) is nothing like this when he’s serious!!! Ace & Cater: Whaaaat? Lilia: Kufufu. Now I’m in the position to spread loveliness as Diasomnia’s cute mascot, however…… In the Valley of Thorns, I was feared as the, “General of Terror.” If you like, I can show you a scary face right now…… But I think it’s better to keep it as a fun treat for Halloween day proper. Ace: Should you really be saying that? Our expectations are gonna be sky-high. Cater: I’m looking forward to seeing it on that day, Lilia♪ Lilia: Kufufu…… Then your wish is my command, and I’ll scare you to my heart’s content. I’m very much looking forward to Halloween day.

Michael After Midnight: 88 Lines About 44 Average Movies Not Worth Reviewing

In the year 1981, Marc Campbell and David Kaufman of the Nails got together and wrote out one of the single greatest songs of all time: “88 Lines About 44 Women.” The song is exactly what it says it is; it is a song, 88 lines long, with two lines each describing a different women. Some of these women are based on real people the two men knew, while other women described in the song are made up. Originally released in 1981 as the first side of the EP Hotel for Women with minimal production - the backing of the song was basically a single droning synth - it was eventually polished up and rerecorded for 1984. The deadpan delivery of the song as well as its general quirkiness and oddball concept has helped make it a beloved obscure 80s song ever since.

Fast forward to… I dunno, the mid to late 2000s? Whenever it was that I watched AMV Hell /0, where it was used in one of the few clips that didn’t feature some absolutely fucked up fetish. It just had good old fashioned bathtub maturation! Anyway, that's how I stumbled across this quirky little song, and fell in love with its odd delivery and peculiar list-like structure. I always wished I could do a parody of it, but it was never meant to be…

Until now! In the year 2020, I came to a decision that would help me finally get a lot of movies out of my system: I’d do a little parody of this odd song and list 44 films that I just don’t think are worth getting a full review with two lines to each film. These are all movies I’ve watched and under any other circumstance would probably make for good reviews… but I just find them too average or just not interesting to talk about to want to dedicate my time to writing out an entire minimum 500 words review. Two lines is what they deserve, that’s good enough.

Anyway, I’m certainly not going to pretend I’m as good as Campbell and Kaufman, but here’s what I managed to punch out by sifting through the mound of perfectly average films I just don’t think deserve elaboration or discussion on my blog... not cuz I think they’re bad or anything, for the most part. I just don’t feel these films engaged me enough for me to make a review of them interesting. Anyway, here we go:

Caveman’s an okay Ringo vehicle Decent effects and ambitious at least

The day of the incident, December 1st 2018

SM’s Office

I heaved a sigh of relief at successfully holding the elevator door before it closed, grimacing slightly because today I decided to go to the office with heels as high as 5cm. I exhaled annoyed and took off my heels, -the hell- with all of this I will be barefoot through the cold floor of the SM office in this winter.

   "Your feet are all scratched" I turned around and Jaehyun with his black hoodie was frozen while leaning his body against the wall.

   "Shit, Jaehyun, since when were you here?" I asked.

   "Since a while ago, didn't the doctor say you shouldn't be carrying heavy things for a while?" Jaehyun asked then took the box I had been carrying.

   "This is your v live property for today's live broadcast" I dodged, trying to avoid his sharp gaze.

   "Is there no male staff in the NCT team?" Jaehyun asked coldly. If he has that look, that means I have to be careful, otherwise, he can explode in this elevator.

   "There are tons of them, but you know how hectic it was. The other members just had to take off the accessories while running around, and then this box was left behind and by chance, I was still in the basement. So that's how it is," I explained at length. He remains silent, which make everything more awkward. Then silence broke out between the two of us, and if it's like this I don't know what to do. When I was little, every time Jaehyun sulked I would reluctantly have to share my weekly ice cream portion for him, and we will make it up again.    "My sister?" Said Siwon with a dramatic pretentious face while entering the elevator. Then Siwon with his body still sticky with sweat hugged me.

   "CHOI SIWON ARE YOU CRAZY ?! HOW MUCH HAVE I SAID DON'T HUG ME WHEN YOU ARE ALL SWEATY LIKE THIS?!" I shouted. More precisely, wrath. Fortunately, in this elevator, there are only three of us.

   "Let your brother hug you, it won't kill you ... Soon Oppa has a schedule to Hong Kong so we won't meet again until...maybe at Christmas... Jaehyun? What's up?" Siwon hugs me and just realize that Jaehyun was behind us enjoying our lovely siblinghood moment, which I hate because I don't like it if by chance some workers see it, and start to think that I am the luckiest person on earth by coming from a rich household, being cousins to Siwon and is Jaehyun's best friend. That all happened before I was even born in this world, there is nothing I can do about it.

   "How are you, Hyung? I have a V live schedule on the 6th floor" Jaehyun answered casually.

   "I don't usually see you two together, you said that in the office you want to be professional with each other? Be careful later on becoming the centre of attention" Siwon raised his eyebrows with a happy smile. Look how they are chatting casually while I already want to pass out because I can't breathe in Siwon's arms.

   "Compared to being afraid of being topic of the gossip, it's better to fix your drunk habits, stop rummaging through our family story," I grumbled.

   "Eyy, at that time Oppa made a mistake. Seeing the two of you growing up like this, makes Oppa so emotional "Siwon increasingly tightened his arms and pressed his cheek to mine.

It's annoying to remember that again. Exactly after one year working as Entertainment manager of NCT, I am so glad that everything went peacefully because Jaehyun and I agreed to hide our relationship. But all of that was destroyed because Siwon explained everything very detailed about our 'friendship' at the Halloween Party last year. After midnight, when everyone was half-drunk (except the manager because they had to take the artist home), Siwon went onstage and made a very long speech, talking about how proud he was to see me achieving my dream - yes everyone already knew that you both are cousins since your mother married Choi family's youngest son - and suddenly reveal all the useless things about me and Jaehyun that make all the employees went awed.

"I went back to the basement because my charger was left in the practice room. Then I saw her ran around carrying a box this big" Jaehyun pointed at the large box he was carrying. More precisely like rattling me to Siwon. I gave him a cynical look that was completely ignored by him.

   "Geez, Choi Haewon, you should not have carried this heavy stuff, last month you just had a Lasik surgery, what if the stitches come off? Then you... AWWW Haewon that’s hurt!" Siwon's chatter was interrupted as he grimaced in pain because I just bit his cheeks. It just so happened that the elevator opened on the 5th floor and I left those two annoying humans together.

When I arrived on the 5th floor, many employees were greeting me, a little surprised to see me barefoot while busy staring at the device in my hand. When I entered my cubicle, there were tons of unsign documents on the table. There is a placard with "Haewon Choi / Entertainment Manager of NCT" printed on it. I was just sitting down when Na-ri, the head of the artist planning department came in and brought several boxes with Louis Vuitton written on it.

   "Haewon, we have a problem" Na-ri stood still, shaking her cellphone. I looked at her confused then stood up, looked at the cellphone and read the short message from Louis Vuitton who wanted their items to be returned right now.

   "What? it's like 10 pm and drove to their office will take 2 hours. Oh my god, this is why I don't like it when a high-end brand asks us to do endorsements. After getting what they want, they will suddenly treat us as if we are going to steal it, "I said.

   "How annoying, you should know the bracelet that Taeyong used was immediately out of stock. Taeyong's bracelets were trending all over the internet, yet they treat us like this? it seems like we have to stop doing this just to get a discount for the NCT stage outfit, can't we ask to raise the budget? 10 million won per member doesn't seem to be enough, "said Na-ri.

And don't forget that we are the youngest team in this company, and I don't want to take the risk, that's kinda sensitive in Korean culture" I answered seriously. Mister Jang has been the head of finance at SM for almost 15 years, his hobby is to tell how hard the idol's of that time to have proper accommodation and now we are buying outfit that cost like one freaking car. Suddenly Na-ri's cellphone vibrates, and the owner of these box sends us a message again. I showed the message to Na-ri, with an annoyed face she posed as if to slam the box... which she couldn't possibly do because the price of one item in it could cost her entire salary.

   "Alright, I'll return this right away," Na-ri said while sighing, I patted her back and put the cellphone into her backpack. Na-ri looks very adorable today, I and the other employees almost died out of laughter because Na-ri casually entered the meeting room with a rabbit-shaped backpack, short pink skirt and a white blouse. Fortunately, SM does not have strict regulations on how to dress its employees, in the end, this company is in the field of Entertainment and this type of company is famous for its concession in binding regulations that exist in Korean companies in general.

   "Here, take my car. By the way, NCT's schedule will end in 2 hours, and they will immediately be taken to the dorm by the manager. So you should go straight home. " I give my car key to her.

   "Thank you. Oh, by the way, Seung-ho Oppa (NCT manager) is still sick, can you please find someone to take the members home to the dorm? SM's Parking lot

We all just finished Live broadcasting on V app and now we are heading to our van to go back to the dorm. Every end of the year is tiring. No, this year is very tiring because all of us, as in 18 members, is promoting under NCT 2018 project, a Lee Soo Man's project that was finally happened because Haewon- our entertainment manager- felt that this project is going to be a very brilliant marketing step. Well, guess she was not wrong. Almost every day some members do live broadcasts, almost every week we have a schedule to appear on events or TV shows, even last week we just signed an exclusive contract with a sports clothing brand. Everything went according to plan and as artists, we are very proud to make it happens.

I, Doyoung, Haechan and Johnny had just arrived at the parking lot when I saw a woman, a girl to be exact, leaning against our van. She wears jeans with a black coat that almost sank her entire body, barefoot with heels on both of her hands. What was she thinking of not wearing any footwear in this weather? I exhaled annoyed while approaching the girl. The other members, especially Haechan gives dramatic screams and the others have put on a super horror face because our nightmares have finally happened again.

   "Guess who will take you guys home today?" Haewon asked with her sweet smile while leaning in our van.

   "Don't joke, where's Na-ri Noona?" Asked Doyoung while looking around.

   "Na-ri is returning the sponsors' belongings and Seungho Oppa is still sick. Don't ask too many questions and get in quickly. The weather is very cold, you can't catch a cold on this super tight schedule," Haewon explained while with great difficulty trying to open our van's door.

We all decided to trust the girl and sat in the passenger seat with very tense faces. Doyoung, Haechan, Johnny and Taeyong looked very pale while watching her trying to adjust the height of the driver's chair.

   "Haewon, the button is on your door," Johnny said with a sigh.

   "Oh, thank you, Johnny," Haewon replied with a grin.

   "Johnny Hyung, how about you just drive?" Haechan asked Johnny.

   "Lee Haechan! It would be very dangerous if an idol drives alone, you understand right? Just wear your goddamn seat belt and go to sleep there!" Haewon grumbles.

   "Wouldn't it be more dangerous to let Noona drive?" Grunted Haechan and checked once again the seatbelt he was wearing.

   "Never mind, stop making Haewon nervous, I still want to live longer in this world" Said Taeyong who was met with Haewon's ferocious look.

During the trip to the dorm, I could not stop staring at the girl beside me. She looks very adorable when she's serious. Her petite body must try as hard as possible to drive this van, and I should be worried because I am inside it. For several times I saw her moving her legs, and that made me very uncomfortable because I'm not used to seeing Haewon with blisters on his body, if Grandpa Han sees this, he will be very angry.

In a short time, our car has entered the gate of our dormitory, and as usual, there are already Sasaeng huddled waiting for us there. I can tell because most of them wore white shirts with our names printed in it when they saw our car coming, they immediately surrounded us while pointing the camera at us.

NCT 127 Dorm

After almost 30 minutes of drama with the Sasaeng, they finally arrived at their dormitory. Haewon took a deep breath seeing the condition of the 10th floor's dormitory residents, feeling grateful that Na-ri and herself managed to win the budget to hire maid services for all NCT dorms. On this floor, there are Mark, Taeil, Yuta, and Jaehyun while the other members are on the 5th floor. In the living room, Yuta is tidying up things in his suitcase. When he saw Haewon coming, Yuta immediately closed his suitcase, after all, they seem to realize that no matter how close they are with Haewonm she is a woman after all and it would be very embarrassing if he let Haewon see something that should not be shown to others especially to a woman. Haewon smiled and immediately walked towards the kitchen, checking the performance of the maid service recommended by Na-ri herself.

   "here, it must be very tiring going here with all those Sasaengs.." Mark emerged from the kitchen, offered a glass of water to Haewon with half-sleepy eyes.

   "It's okay, Mark. Make sure to sleep early, tomorrow morning there will be shooting for your concert's VCR" Haewon smiled at Mark and took the drink.

   "I heard, better to prep my skin using some mask, right?" asked Mark while holding his cheek, Haewon laughed at Mark's behaviour. When they first met 1 year ago, Mark looked like a child and now he is taller than her.

   "You already look good Mark" Haewon replied while patting his back. Mark looked a little shy and went straight to his room. Mark always admires her, and it is common knowledge that he has a little crush on Haewon. Jaehyun was very, very uncomfortable if Mark had shown it very clearly when they were together.

   "Haewon, have you eaten? I want to heat Ahjumma's cooking, do you want some too?” Taeil also appeared from the kitchen while carrying piles of Tupperware from the fridge.

   "No Oppa, I have to go home now" Haewon smiled and slowly left the kitchen area and walked to the front door. Haewon intends to go straight home when suddenly Jaehyun pulled her hand and opened the door to his room.

   "Why?" Asked Haewon confused. Jaehyun said nothing and pushed Haewon until she sat on the edge of his bed. Haewon's eyes widened when Jaehyun suddenly squatted and she flinched to the cold sensation on her ankles.

   "Don't wear anything that you don't even know how to use. For example, heels?" Jaehyun smiled mockingly in the direction of Haewon while rubbing the medicine on her blistered ankle.

It's been a long time since she has a conversation with Jaehyun, and it feels very nice to see his best friend's room again. Jaehyun's room is very minimalist, the arrangement is simpler than his bedroom in the Jung's family house. Haewon looked at Jaehyun and felt a little guilty because he often ignored Jaehyun's invitation to hang out together. Haewon was at the end of her semester when Jaehyun was announced as a member of SMRookies after that every time Haewon visited Korea, they only met at the Christmas party held by their family. And now, even though they are working at the same company, plus the fact that Haewon leading NCT projects herself doesn't mean they can freely show everyone that their relationship is this close.    "Wow, apparently my shoes are here?" Haewon smiled and wore those shoes. Smiling slightly as she closed her eyes, feeling how comfortable it was to wear shoes compared to the heels.

   "You have to stop leaving all your belongings in my house, Eomma is very worried, she thinks that you are senile at this age" Jaehyun laughed a little at Haewon's reddened face. And he thought that was very adorable, well that girl would always look adorable to Jaehyun.

   "Isn't that our picture?" Haewon stood up and walked toward the wardrobe where Jaehyun kept all his things. Amongst all the stuff, the only thing that stunned her is a photo of Jaehyun and Haewon's family while on vacation in Disneyland.

    "It was our first vacation together" Jaehyun lay down on the bed. Still looking at Haewon who smiled looking at the photo.

    "Yeah and you were crying because apparently, Mickey Mouse is so big to you, oh my god you're so cute at that time" Haewon hugged the photo and looked at Jaehyun with a big smile on her face. Suddenly the memory becomes fresh again, the memory of their first encounter that leads him to the most beautiful fate of his life.

December 25, 2003

Jung’s family house

Little Jaehyun rolled his eyes in annoyance, this was the umpteenth time he was forced to be the role of a husband in the house played by his cousins.    "Let's pray that Uncle David's next child will be a boy," said Jaehyun's father. And Jaehyun exhaled, more pessimistic that there would be more male offspring in this family besides him.

   "If Uncle David's next child is a girl then I will make him a boy," his son's innocent words made the man burst into laughter. The conversation between the father and son stopped when the gate was wide open, and several people got out of a black car. A man in a suit walked towards the two of them with a big smile, behind him, there was a woman who was holding the hand of a girl who kept her head down.

Jaehyun's father stood up to the man and hugged him tightly. Jaehyun frowned in confusion. This is the first time their family has a guest at a Christmas party. He saw his father returning with a little girl on his hands. The girl was wearing a white dress, long hair flowing and looking all embarrassed. Jaehyun felt awkward when the two people were in front of him.

   "Jaehyun, this is Letisha Alana Choi or Haewon, let's say hello," his father said. Jaehyun stood up and extended his hand trying to shake hand with her. A little upset because the girl is not yet returned his good intentions. Suddenly the woman who is the mother of the girl whispered something in her ear, the girl immediately looked up at Jaehyun with her bright brown eyes sparkling.

   "You like basketball?" asked the girl that he replied with a small nod. Then the girl smiled very brightly and take his hand. At that time for the first time in 6 years of his life, he saw a very beautiful smile.

And until this moment Jaehyun was still stunned to see the smile that Haewon always carved. He realizes that this is not right, because his family considers Haewon their daughter. But he could not stop this feeling no matter how hard he tried to.

"Why?" Haewon lifts her eyebrows looking at Jaehyun who kept staring at him.

"No, it's just...you are very beautiful today" Jaehyun smiled and Haewon with all her strength had to hold back not to blush. If not, Jaehyun will tease her until a time limit that she can not specify. "Yes, I just come out from the dorm," I said to Na-ri who has been calling me for a while now.

"You've made sure Haechan and Johnny don't play games, right? If they are late tomorrow I will be furious because shooting starts early in the morning" Na-ri said from the phone.

"Yes, oh my god we are not their babysitter, let the boys lived, Na-ri!" I replied quickly. Before going down I took myself to the dorm on the 5th floor. Talking briefly with the manager about tomorrow's schedule, scolding Haechan for drinking coca-cola on this cold day, and almost having a heart attack because Johnny casually came out of the bathroom wearing only a towel.

"Alright, I'll pick you up tomorrow morning. Thank you for the car, by the way. " I ended up lending my car to her because it will be uncomfortable to take a bus to Louis Vuitton's office, it's already very late and it could be a danger for her. I thought that she already ends the call but then she asked again, "with what are you going to go home now? Jaehyun?" Gosh, if he takes me home now, I can guarantee that by tomorrow our face will be all over the news.

"are you crazy? do you know how much Sasaeng are outside? I'm taking the bus" I said with a snort of annoyance. I just argued with Jaehyun because he insisted on taking me home. I have my reasons, I don't want a piece of cheap news about our relationship popped up while NCT is at its peak year.

"Do you know how to ride a bus?" I gaped in disbelief at the question.

"Really? Do you think I'm stupid?" I replied rhetorically.

"Well who knows, you're rich from birth ... eh no, before you were born you already inherited all of your family's wealth. Naturally, you never take a bus, right?" I shook my head at her babble. Of course, I know how to take the bus, back in school at SOPA Jaehyun and I always took the bus. That is the kind of topic I always try to avoid, when I arrived at the bus stop, I end the call with Na-ri and waiting for the bus to come.

There is not a single person around here considering that it's almost midnight and this place is kinda desolated because lots of idols live around here. Should I just take a taxi to go home? I waited, and wait for the bus or taxi to come but there are none of them passing by. Suddenly realize that on weekdays, bus stop working at 11 PM which was 50 minutes ago was the last bus of today. I tried to remain calm, as the coldness hit me and I tighten my coat.

At this time, all I can think of is to use my last card, the only person that is still awake and will pick me up immediately. I sigh a relieved sign and start calling the number.

"Uncle Jung? It's me Haewon... I'm sorry but can you pick me.." my words stopped as I feel something stab my shoulder, something very sharp, I can feel the hot breath flowing through my neck as the person come closer to my ear."There should not be a girl in NCT's staffing" the person said. The sharp edges leave my body and that person run immediately, I was about to chase after that person when I found myself all weak on the floor with blood flowing from my shoulder...

Tea and Coffee, Chapter 3; a Velvet/Colette Fanfic

Colette was enraptured by the young boy before her. Laphicet spoke with an eloquence and enthusiasm that befit an expert, but with the hesitation of an amateur. Throughout their conversation it was a constant reminder of his age, and yet it made him seem more impressive rather than less. This subject was above Velvet's comprehension level, if her expression was anything to go by. Colette wondered how often Laphi got the chance to discuss his interests with such depth.

As their discussion began to wind down, Colette took a final sip from her third mug of coffee and found that it had gotten cold, beyond room temperature. She glanced to the clock and found bright blue numbers glaring at her from the oven. “Oh dear,” she said, turning to Laphi. “Isn't it past your bedtime? It's almost midnight! I'm so sorry to keep you up so late.”

Velvet let out a soft laugh; a small, gruff sound that Colette found she adored. She hadn't heard Velvet laugh before; she wished she could hear it more often. “He stays up this late anyways. Always hiding under the covers with a book and his phone to use as a light.” Velvet looked to her younger brother and her voice became stern, almost scolding. “None of that today, young man. Brush your teeth, and then straight to bed – and by that, you know I mean straight to sleep. Got it?”

“I got it,” Laphi grumbled, and the annoyance in his tone was so cute it made Colette giggle. He turned to her when he heard that, and a smile drifted across his face. “Will I get to see you again, Colette?”

“In due time,” Colette said, and returned the expression. “Now go on, do as your sister bids. Velvet and I still need to talk, but she'll follow suit soon enough.”

Velvet cast Colette a curious glance, but Colette didn't dare return the look. It was only when Laphi had gone into the hall and the sound of a door closing reverberated through the apartment that Colette turned to the woman again.

“What do we have to discuss?” Velvet asked, her arms now folded across her chest, and it looked like a defensive stance to Colette, as if she were preparing for battle. Colette softened before she spoke.

“If it is agreeable to you, Miss Velvet, I would like to offer your brother a mentorship.” Velvet's eyes widened, her posture stiffened, but Colette barreled forward, determined to offset any objects Velvet might have before she made them. “It will, of course, be outside of school hours. Once a week, on whatever day and whatever time best suits your schedule, I'll meet with him for one hour. I do have an hourly rate of – ”

“We can't afford it,” Velvet interrupted, and now it was Colette's turn to look at her in surprise. “If I wasn't our only source of income, Colette, I would take this in a heartbeat. Believe me, I would. But as it is, I can't afford anything over fifty a month.”

Colette could tell Velvet was being careful with her words and the way she spoke them; even still, some of the pain Velvet must have been feeling leaked into her refusal. Despite this, she was still tense and her arms remained in their crossed position.

“Perhaps I could offer him a scholarship,” Colette suggested. Now rather than seeming curious or defensive, Velvet's eyes narrowed. Colette wasn't sure what that meant. Was she angry? Had Colette made some sort of misstep? “I would be willing to lower the rate for Laphicet. Fifty a month, four sessions a month. What do you say?” It was a huge discount; it was less than the cost of one session. But she had a feeling about Laphicet, and she wanted to see him grow.

Velvet was quiet. For a long, arduous moment, she was silent as the morning before the sun, and Colette felt as though she was holding her breath, though she did not know Velvet's hesitation. Finally, she said, “I will think about it.” And Colette supposed that was better than nothing at all, certainly. “I will text you when I have an answer.”

That sounded like a dismissal. Colette stood, brushing the wrinkles from her skirt as she did. “Thank you for having me over,” she said as she looked to Velvet. “I'd better get going.”

Velvet blinked at Colette, the scary expression gone from her face, and the tension vanished from the room. “What?” she said, surprise in her voice as Velvet jumped to her feet as well, already moving towards the living room. “No, it's so late. You'll stay on the futon.”

“Oh, there's no need—”

Velvet spun on her heel, and when her eyes met Colette's, they were hard, scary. Colette couldn't speak. “You're staying on the damn futon.”

And it was late. Colette knew the area well, had lived in this town for all of her life, but she wasn't prepared to argue with that stubborn expression on Velvet's face.

Still, as Colette laid on the pull-out couch, looking up at the ceiling – Velvet having gone to bed a while ago – she found herself wondering if she had put herself in a bit of a sticky situation, one she wasn't sure she could get herself out of.

“Conflict of interest?”

Lloyd spoke with food still in his mouth, obscuring the words he was trying to say. Colette was used to it, and did not grimace; instead she pulled a napkin from the cannister and handed it to him, since it was likely to spill out of his mouth sooner or later. “Yes,” she said. “I've extended a scholarship to the younger brother of a woman I'm interested in. That is, by definition, a conflict of interest, no matter how talented or knowledgeable the boy is.”

Lloyd frowned at that comment, and he took another bite from his burger before he had even finished the first one. “What if you, like – ”

“Lloyd.”

“Sorry.” Lloyd swallowed once, chewed for a moment, swallowed again, and then he took a long drink. He spoke again. “What if you didn't ask her out until after the mentorship was over? It's not gonna be super long, and it could just be as if you became interested in her after the whole thing happened, so what's the big deal?”

Colette sighed gently, looking down at the untouched salad in front of her. “No. I think that would actually be worse, Lloyd. Because then I'd be hiding it, and I would most definitely be under suspicion for that.”

Lloyd let out a small groan, shaking his head. “Man, you're right, Colette. I don't know – I don't know if there's any way out of being held under some kind of suspicion, one way or another.” Colette felt her heart sink, and it must have shown on her face, because Lloyd quickly said, “But you know what? I'll look into it. I don't have the laws out in front of me, you know? I'll definitely see what I can find out for you.”

“Thank you, Lloyd.” The relief is overwhelming, and Colette laughed gently. Even though Lloyd promised her absolutely nothing, it did her so much good to hear that he'd look into it for her. Because when Lloyd agreed to do something for a friend, he put his all into it.

He smiled brightly at her. “Anytime, Colette.” And without missing a beat, he pointed at her salad. “Now eat. Don't make me whip out my badge and command you to do it.”

Colette considered rolling her eyes, but she decided against it, instead picking up her fork. She knew where the concern came from, and she knew that if she addressed it directly, Lloyd would get upset. She took a bite of her salad, and Lloyd visibly relaxed; he picked up his burger again, as well.

“I've been in recovery for over a decade, Lloyd,” she said, her voice low so as not to be heard by anyone around them. She couldn't look at him as she said it; not because she was lying, but because she knew he knew this. “I don't need you to act like we're back in high school again.”

The air was heavy for a moment, and quiet, despite the buzz of the cafe around them. Colette felt almost like she was suffocating with every moment that passed. Think of anything but the food, she told herself sternly; anything but the food.

Finally Lloyd sighed; she still couldn't look up at him. “Sorry, Colette.”

She nodded, and when her mouth was clear of leaves of salad, she said, “It's okay. I forgive you.”

The silence stretched for another moment until Lloyd started talking about his most recent talk with Genis, and they let the conversation drift to more menial topics.

It was at around two AM several nights later that Colette's phone buzzed with a text notification, jarring her awake. She was always a light sleeper, but usually she remembered to switch her phone to silent when she went to bed for the night. She rubbed her eyes before she reached to her bedside table, unplugged her phone, and stared at the lock screen.

Velvet's name shined up at her, along with the entirety of the text message beneath it: Yes.

It was only one word, but it made Colette beam. “Yes,” she whispered to herself in the quiet of her apartment.”Yes, yes, yes, she said yes!”

Her phone buzzed again, and this time the message did not fit entirely in the preview; hurriedly she unlocked it, unwilling to wait until morning to read it.

You will tell me everything you discuss during these sessions. You will itemize what's being charged and what the scholarship covers. You will be completely transparent with Laphicet and I both.

It was a bit like reading the terms and conditions, but honestly, Colette couldn't bring it in herself to object. She said yes, after all! What more could Colette have asked for?

Then came a subsequent text.

You will not take advantage of this mentorship in any way. I reserve the right to terminate this contract at any time.

Colette deflated, and she leaned back into the mattress. Somehow, some way, Velvet had seen through her. Velvet had seen what Colette saw when she looked at her, and Velvet did not reciprocate.

She put her phone back on the end table, but she couldn't find it in herself to plug it back in. Her thoughts swirled around her, and she closed her eyes, trying to shut them out.

She wouldn't even need Lloyd's help. Velvet was shutting her down. That's all there was to it.

Cyber Monday Laptop Deals | What stores have the best deals?

Amazon.com is my favorite site for Cyber Monday laptop deals. They don’t run just laptops, but pretty much everything. They have new deals popping up every few hours starting on the 23rd, and for every deal, there’s a nice little bar showing how many % have been sold. You’d be surprised how fast bars for some of the deals fill up, but if you’re a fast clicker and don’t “hover” or sit on the fence for too long, you should have no problems getting the deals you want.

Some other great stores to shop at online for laptops are Tiger Direct, HP, Dell, J&R, and websites for popular offline retailers such as Best Buy and Fry’s Electronics. You’ll have to like the brands offered on some of these websites (HP, Dell, etc.), though.

Cyber Monday Laptop Deals | Where can I find these awesome deals?

As we get closer to Cyber Monday, I’ll be posting top Cyber Monday laptop deals from all over the web. I love to browse deal forums and I’ll be sure to relay the best ones to you, my readers. However, I’m going to stick to online deals, since that’s my specialty. I’ll be celebrating the Thanksgiving holidays with my family and friends, so I won’t be standing in line. I hate the cold, after all.

The only thing that’s annoying about online shopping, in my opinion, is the wait. Even though I have an Amazon Prime membership, I’m still looking at a 2-day delivery time, which is hard sometimes!

But overall I think it’s well worth it with the money I save. Most states don’t have to pay taxes when shopping online. And for Amazon, if I really wanted something bad enough, it’s only $3.99 for overnight shipping.

You really can’t beat that. So I’ll be focusing on Amazon deals this Cyber Monday for obvious reasons.

Personally, I’m anxiously awaiting a new ASUS ultraportable laptop

to replace my current one, which has slowed to a crawl. Wish me luck!

From experience, I can tell you that Macs are rarely on the list of Cyber Monday deals. You can get better educational discounts, even. Again, Macs are considered premium computers and they sell a brand name. I can only assume that their customer base is less concerned about price. Plus, offering too many discounts will lower the overall value of the brand name.

Most Cyber Monday laptop deals consist of traditional laptops and netbooks. These are marked down the most often, usually to only a few hundred dollars. This is because there is a larger market for these two types of laptops, and Cyber Monday laptop deals tend to appeal to general shoppers. Ultraportable laptops are pretty new, and there are marked up more due to their extremely light weight. Most of them also don’t come with an optical drive, which can be an issue for some consumers. They are, however, the laptop of choice for most professionals on the go. So as they become more and more popular, there will undoubtedly be Cyber Monday deals for them.

As for desktop replacements and gaming laptops, which is a sub-niche of this category, you won’t see too many of these because they are already very expensive, and even with discounts on Cyber Monday, they’ll still be relatively expensive. Cyber Monday deal seekers want amazing deals, and understandably so because they are often waiting out in the cold for hours or even days. They want $200-300 laptops, not $700 laptops even if the original price was $1,200 or something. Of course, this is just an example and isn’t meant to be indicative of actual deals.

So you are going to wait in line at a store, but not sure which one to go? Well, high tech/electronics stores definitely have the best Cyber Monday laptop deals. These stores are Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry’s Electronics, CompUSA, MicroCenter, J&R, H H Gregg, and even Walmart or Target. Not all of them are available in every city, and to choose one, you’ll want to wait and see each store’s Cyber Monday ads and go to the store that has what you want.

Amazon.com is my favorite site for Cyber Monday laptop deals. They don’t run just laptops, but pretty much everything. They have new deals popping up every few hours starting on the 23rd, and for every deal, there’s a nice little bar showing how many % have been sold. You’d be surprised how fast bars for some of the deals fill up, but if you’re a fast clicker and don’t “hover” or sit on the fence for too long, you should have no problems getting the deals you want.

Some other great stores to shop at online for laptops are Tiger Direct, HP, Dell, J&R, and websites for popular offline retailers such as Best Buy and Fry’s Electronics. You’ll have to like the brands offered on some of these websites (HP, Dell, etc.), though.

Cyber Monday Laptop Deals | Where can I find these awesome deals?

As we get closer to Cyber Monday, I’ll be posting top Cyber Monday laptop deals from all over the web. I love to browse deal forums and I’ll be sure to relay the best ones to you, my readers. However, I’m going to stick to online deals, since that’s my specialty. I’ll be celebrating the Thanksgiving holidays with my family and friends, so I won’t be standing in line. I hate the cold, after all.

The only thing that’s annoying about online shopping, in my opinion, is the wait. Even though I have an Amazon Prime membership, I’m still looking at a 2-day delivery time, which is hard sometimes!

But overall I think it’s well worth it with the money I save. Most states don’t have to pay taxes when shopping online. And for Amazon, if I really wanted something bad enough, it’s only $3.99 for overnight shipping.

You really can’t beat that. So I’ll be focusing on Amazon deals this Cyber Monday for obvious reasons.

Personally, I’m anxiously awaiting a new ASUS ultraportable laptop

to replace my current one, which has slowed to a crawl. Wish me luck!

Cyber Monday Laptop Deals | What type(s) of computers are likely to be listed on Cyber Monday deals?

From experience, I can tell you that Macs are rarely on the list of Cyber Monday deals. You can get better educational discounts, even. Again, Macs are considered premium computers and they sell a brand name. I can only assume that their customer base is less concerned about price. Plus, offering too many discounts will lower the overall value of the brand name.

Most Cyber Monday laptop deals consist of traditional laptops and netbooks. These are marked down the most often, usually to only a few hundred dollars. This is because there is a larger market for these two types of laptops, and Cyber Monday laptop deals tend to appeal to general shoppers. Ultraportable laptops are pretty new, and there are marked up more due to their extremely light weight. Most of them also don’t come with an optical drive, which can be an issue for some consumers. They are, however, the laptop of choice for most professionals on the go. So as they become more and more popular, there will undoubtedly be Cyber Monday deals for them.

As for desktop replacements and gaming laptops, which is a sub-niche of this category, you won’t see too many of these because they are already very expensive, and even with discounts on Cyber Monday, they’ll still be relatively expensive. Cyber Monday deal seekers want amazing deals, and understandably so because they are often waiting out in the cold for hours or even days. They want $200-300 laptops, not $700 laptops even if the original price was $1,200 or something. Of course, this is just an example and isn’t meant to be indicative of actual deals.

So you are going to wait in line at a store, but not sure which one to go? Well, high tech/electronics stores definitely have the best Cyber Monday laptop deals. These stores are Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry’s Electronics, CompUSA, MicroCenter, J&R, H H Gregg, and even Walmart or Target. Not all of them are available in every city, and to choose one, you’ll want to wait and see each store’s Cyber Monday ads and go to the store that has what you want.
