The Phenomenal Prayer of Protection by the Real St. Patrick
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth with His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion with His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection with His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In the obedience of angels,
In the service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In the predictions of prophets,
In the preaching of apostles,
In the faith of confessors,
In the innocence of holy virgins,
In the deeds of righteous men.
I arise today, through
The strength of heaven,
The light of the sun,
The radiance of the moon,
The splendor of fire,
The speed of lightning,
The swiftness of wind,
The depth of the sea,
The stability of the earth,
The firmness of rock.
I arise today, through
God's strength to pilot me,
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptation of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
afar and near.
I summon today
All these powers between me and those evils,
Against every cruel and merciless power
that may oppose my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul;
Christ to shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me an abundance of reward.
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.
Amen

The Syriac Church of the East is the form of Christianity that's most influenced by the Gospel of Thomas. The Gospel of Thomas is actually quoted in many writings from this School of Saint Thomas, considered to be the founding Apostle. Though not part of their canon of scripture these days, as the Syriac church became part of Orthodoxy, yet the influence of the Gospel of Thomas is stronger in the Syriac east than in any other Christian tradition.

"But whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.” Proverbs 1:33
I came to christ in a time when I had seen the worse humanity has to offer. And I had a series of important dreams. When I was at my ultimate worst in self destruction and how badly my relationships were with others because of my trauma that I hadn't dealt with, those dreams came to me and christ told me I was still loved.
Even though Christ loves me unconditionally, it is still up to me to deal with my own trauma. In this I think is where the importance of therapy comes into view. Cause even though we have these great parent figure, this loving father, we still need to conquer our trauma so that how we approach others. So that people won't seem so scary, won't seem like every person is that person that harmed us. We can build on our support system, and make a better life than the view we might have had before, when we were around those people who failed us, weather that be our family situation, or the effect of a friend or romantic partner who hurt us. I am in no way saying that you have to accept christ to heal your trauma, I am saying for me, in my situation it was what helped me in my time of need.
I had a series of dreams when I was at my lowest. I had the extreme feeling that I couldn't breathe, and I opened my eyes and realized I was falling in the water, that I was drowning. When I thought I was out of time, a hand reached down to pull me up. It was Jesus, who helped me up and to the shore. He showed me a table of people who were warm and inviting, set up by the shore. He told me to join his family by the shore, and I think that's what this dream means to me, that he wanted me to join this family of christians. And for me I feel like this is very clear to me, that he wanted me to come to church, to read the bible, and to embrace that love.
But that's just me, that's just what I believe.
