Chapter 2

Pairing: Sam Wilson x Black!Fem!reader / Plus Size reader

Warnings: 18+. Minors DNI. You are in charge of your own reading experience. This starts off tame, pure fluff. Soft Sam. Cursing and allusions to body parts and sex. This series will get explicit so I will keep the community label on mature. There will be angst and smut. Mentions of sick parents, responsible adulting, and unfair burdens. AAVE intentional language.

Summary: This starts off about a week or so before Captain America and The Winter Soldier. You are the front desk clerk who started a few months ago and you have a major crush on Sam Wilson, the handsome and sweet trauma counselor. Your best friend suckers you into going with Sam on a coffee run.

A/N: The more I rewatch The Winter Soldier, I know I'm primarily drooling over Seb like everyone else, but I've really come to appreciate Sam. He's hilarious and Anthony Mackie is perfect. “You got a little drool there," Your best friend, Ariel, said and smacked your face with a folder. You jumped, pulled from your daydreaming, and smacked her back.

“Am not,” you muttered. You covertly wiped your mouth and Ariel laughed. “I saw that, ho,” she said.

You rolled your eyes and shuffled papers in front of you, grumbling to yourself. You didn’t want to look, but your eyes were drawn towards the front. Towards Sam. He stood talking to a veteran after their meeting and he was engaged, focused, listening. You briefly wondered what it would be like to have that focus on you.

You mentally shook yourself. You did not need those problems. Still, your eyes tracked him. How he moved, how he laughed. His smile was infectious. He was the type that not only heard you, but listened.

“When are you gonna tell that boy how badly you want to rip his–”

“Shush!” You scolded.

Ariel laughed and continued filing away client files. “He’s way over there, you think he can hear me?”

You shrugged. “We just found out Norse gods are real, supersoldiers coming back from the ice and shit, and aliens tried to take over New York. So yeah, you never know.”

Ariel laughed. “If Sam is special or whatever, don’t you think we would’ve found out by now? With how much you stare at him?”

“Hey, I don’t stare. It’s not like I can look at anything else. This is literally the front desk.”

Ariel held up her hands. “He ain’t sorry to look at. I’m just sayin’. You’d know if his fine ass had any super powers.”

You rolled your eyes again and focused on the meeting schedule in front of you and client emails. You bit your lip as you concentrated, intent on actually getting some work done.

Veterans Affairs was usually a chill place. As the front desk clerk, there wasn’t a lot of responsibility. Which you preferred. The hours were flexible, boss was understanding, and despite Ariel always talkin’ shit, you had good company. And yeah, the view wasn’t bad.

Again, your mind drifted to Sam. It didn’t make any sense for him to look that fine working in a place like this. But he was good with the veterans. His groups filled up fast sometimes, to the point where he’d stay for just one more.

You sighed. You were a grown woman. You had no business lusting after a man.

“Good afternoon, ladies.”

You jumped and looked over at Sam. Sam, standing in front of you. Sam, looking at you and smiling. You froze. Did you conjure him? Did he catch you staring?

Ariel elbowed you as she turned in the small front desk area and leaned on the desk. “Good afternoon, Sam. How goes it?”

“Afternoon,” you managed to mumble. You think. Idiot. How exactly do you talk to a man that you were just picturing naked? You bet it was big too. Fuck. You were thinking it again.

“Pretty good. I got some time before my next group. I was going to head to the cafe up the street and get something.” Sam kept his eyes fixed on you. You pointedly did not look at him. You didn’t care if you were being rude. You just wanted your face to stop giving away your nasty thoughts.

“Really! What a coincidence. Y/N was just saying she felt a little peckish,” Ariel said.

You whipped your head towards her and glared. You stumbled over your words. You couldn’t deny that shit fast enough.

“I-uh, well, my-my family packed something for me,” you said.

Sam laughed. “Don’t worry, I know you don’t want to be seen around town with someone like me.”

Your eyes widened and you shook your head. “That’s not true! I would never–I mean, I’m not…”

Sam laughed again. “I’m joking, Y/N.” How did he manage to make your name sound so…melodic?

You laughed nervously and licked your lips. You were a well educated woman, oldest child, and Sam turned you into a bumbling idiot.

“One of these days I’ll wear you down. You’ll have to give me a good excuse or go on and accept a date with me.”

Your cheeks couldn’t burn hotter. You thanked whoever was listening that your dark skin hid your blush. “Sam…”

He shook his head and waved you off. “I’m not pressuring you, I swear. I’m just sayin’, I’m a good time.” His smirk made his high cheekbones stick out.

“She knows it. She’s just stubborn,” Ariel said.

You stood up and bumped her with your hip, offering a small and fake apology. “I am not,” you said.

“I know it. I’ll have to impress her, right? Get her to take a chance on me?” Sam asked Ariel.

“Mhhm, poor thing needs to be hit over the head,” Ariel said.

“Are ya’ll done laughing at my expense?”

“No!” Sam and Ariel said at the same time. You rolled your eyes and put your hands on your hips.

Hell, you didn’t know why you kept saying no anyway. Well, you did. But your excuses never fazed Ariel. You had a busy home life, with family that depended on you. Was it really fair to start something up if you couldn’t follow through?

Ariel would say yes. That you deserved fun. That it didn’t have to be anything other than casual. But your crush was anything but casual. You wanted this man, biblically. You couldn’t string two sentences around the man.

But did you want your family to run your life? Just because you were responsible didn’t mean you had to be boring. You weren’t always like this. This…goop of a puddle who couldn’t look a man in the eye. You were gorgeous, goddamn it! You had curves, a nice ass, and a cute face. Tits weren’t bad either.

“One trip to the cafe?” You asked.

Sam grinned and nodded. “One trip. Harmless,” he said and shrugged his shoulders.

Mhmm. You looked at Ariel who pumped her fist. The bitch could at least be subtle about it. You giggled and gathered your purse.

“It appears I’m taking my break now,” you told Ariel.

“Take ya time. All the time you need,” Ariel said and eyed Sam up and down. She was embarrassing enough for the both of you.

You exited the closed off desk area, returning the half door to its place. You were doing it. You were standing next to him. You also felt like you were going to throw up, but you’d take the victory where you could.

Sam led the way out of the VA building and you blinked into the late DC sun. You forgot how dark it could be in the building. You needed to head out more and get some sun on your bones.

Together, you walked with Sam towards the small cafe on the corner. You walked in silence for a bit, biting the inside of your cheek. You were so painfully awkward.

“I gotta say, I’m shocked to see you out from behind the desk.”

You laughed. “Not what you was picturing?” You asked.

“Better.”

You laughed and rolled your eyes. “Boy…”

He laughed. “I’m sorry,” he said and didn’t look the least bit sorry. He always looked like he knew a secret you didn’t. Instead of looking like an asshole, he looked like he was dying to tell it.

“Can you blame me? I’ve been askin’ for months.” He said. You waited at a corner for the light to turn so you could cross. Sam got on the other side of you, so that he was closest to the oncoming traffic. Your heart melted a tiny bit.

DC was expansive and yet seemed so small. Cars were jam packed, honking, and everyone was rushing around. Everyone walked with a purpose, some place to be and something to do. There was a light breeze and the sun was losing its heat.

“I’m sorry about that…”

“I’m not saying it to make you feel bad. I’m just sayin’ I’m grateful I get to spend any time with you. Whatever you’re cool with, I promise.”

“I like that you ask me out. I hate havin’ to say no.” You admitted. It was so damn true, it hurt. You did hate saying no. You hated that he would smile through it all, so understanding. But you knew he was disappointed.

“Why do you say no?” He asked. He asked it softly, not judging. Sam was so damn sweet, you should have a cavity.

You took a deep breath as you crossed the street. It was a loaded question. Where did you start? A hermit mom who was too scared to leave the house after New York? Your stubborn but ailing dad who refused to go to the hospital? Your wild and out siblings who never took shit seriously?

“Home life is kind of…chaotic. After New York, everyone’s been on edge. I know it was two years ago, but it doesn’t really help. We had live footage that nasty aliens exist.”

Sam nodded his head. He held the door open for you as you went inside the cafe. The heavenly aroma of fresh bread and coffee made your mouth water. The cafe was smallish, mostly for getting the order to go. There were tables and chairs for people to sit but they were all occupied.

The shop itself had a new age, almost hippy vibe but was every inch the upscale coffee shop political types loved. Everything was modern, clean, and even had a chalkboard menu. Because of course they did.

You stood in line. “Yeah, that was insane to watch on TV before the cameras went down. I’ve talked to plenty of people that still fear going outside. You afraid of another attack?”

You sighed. You knew he wouldn’t judge you, bless him. But it wasn’t you that was afraid. Your mother’s nerves were so bad, they were contagious. It was easier to stay home than have her call you ten times per minute to make sure you were safe. Yes, you were aware that it had nothing to do with you. But you were trying, okay?

“Not me, exactly,” you said and laughed. “It’s hard to explain.”

“It’s cool. You don’t have to. But I’m here if you ever need someone to talk to,” he said.

You smiled at him. “Thanks, Sam.”

He smiled. You approached the barista and ordered. You reached for your wallet when Sam stopped you. “I asked you here, it’s my treat.”

“Sam, no. I can pay for my order.”

“Never said you couldn’t. My treat,” he said. He handed the barista his card and paid for the order anyway. You scowled. It only made him laugh.

“It’s only a few bucks.”

“That’s not the point. I don’t like people paying for me,” you said.

“Not even as a treat?” He asked. You both moved off to the side to wait for your coffee and muffin.

“Not really,” you said.

Sam smiled. “I’m sorry. Tell you what. We can walk here again tomorrow and I’ll let you pay. I’ll even order the most expensive thing on the menu.”

You laughed and shook your head. “You just want to walk here again with me.”

“Did it work?” He asked.

You pursed your lips. Dammit, yes. You nodded and he celebrated. “I’ll take it.”

You grabbed your order and headed back towards the building, asking how he got started into counseling.

“Counseling helped me a lot when I got back. I wanted to pay it forward. I’m pretty good at talkin’ to people. Figured it was my calling,” he said.

“You ever miss it?”

Sam shrugged and sipped some of his coffee. You admired anyone who could walk and drink. Your drink would’ve ended up all over your outfit. And you rather liked these jeans and your flowery blouse.

“Yes and no? I don’t miss the action. I miss my brothers though. There’s a deep bond you form over there that never really leaves you.”

You nodded. You never served but you heard that sentiment repeatedly as they checked in for groups, signed up for others, or needed resources. The military chewed you up and spat you out and never stopped to give a damn.

You continued to learn more about him, more than you managed to pick up when you started working at the VA. He was from Louisiana, he has a sister, and two nephews. His parents owned a fishing business.

He was so easy to talk to, once you got past your initial dirty thoughts and weird hangups about him. He made you laugh so many times on the way back, your sides were hurting as you entered the dimly lit, bland government building. He walked you back to the front desk where Ariel was grinning like the Cheshire Cat.

“Nothing for me? I’m hurt.”

“Good. That’s what you get for being a smart ass,” you said.

“Got your behind out walking with him, didn’t it?” Ariel laughed and high-fived Sam.

You narrowed your eyes. “I hope ya’ll didn’t plan this,” you said.

Sam held up his hands, raising his cup in the air. “On my honor as an Airman, I did not plan this.” He walked backwards as he winked at you.

“Until tomorrow, Y/N.”

“Bye, Sam,” you said and rolled your eyes. Even if it was a set up, you didn’t mind. You had a lot of fun.

You entered the booth and sat down. Ariel leaned her hip against the desk and flipped her long hair over her shoulder.

“Spill, bitch!”

I just saw this article and I'm somehow even more disappointed.

But it turns out no one warned Captain America himself that a very personal piece of his history was about to be broadcast to the world. "I laughed my ass off," Ruffalo tells EW. "I'm like, 'Does someone need to talk to Captain America about this?' I haven't. I was afraid he was going to have it cut. Too late now, buddy. The cat's out of the bag."

Like... yes? He would have it cut because it's such bullshit? The fact that Chris who genuinely cares about Steve and who played that character for ten years wouldn't approve should've been an indicator.

Reducing Steve to jokes about his virginity is such a cheap shot. Avoiding that Sam is Captain America is too. I don't even know anymore.

My friend.... this is really funny, because I also just read this article today, and I was all geared up to write a rant about it when you popped into my inbox 😂

This is one of the most asinine articles I've ever read 🤣🤣🤣 and I've read quite a few in regards to certain characters in the MCU.

First to address your point about Chris Evans-- I do feel pretty bad for him. I think he genuinely connected to and cared about Steve Rogers as a character. From the interviews in which he talks about Steve, and particularly Steve's relationship with Bucky, I can tell he really put a lot of thought into Steve's heart and frame of mind, and I think he really made MCU Steve Rogers his. Certainly any new film incarnations of Steve will be measured up against Chris' interpretation, haha.

It's just... I don't think Chris would have wanted Steve to be disrespected like this. Ruffalo himself said he thought Chris would have put a stop to it. So it's distasteful that everyone would just go ahead and make obsessing over Steve's virginity a big part of Jennifer's character while laughing at it all the while. (I can't read Chris Evans' mind-- maybe he doesn't care, though I like to think he does.) As a big fan of Steve, Disney has not failed to disappoint me time after time, and this is just the icing on the cake.

And Sam, our new Captain America! Why does the MCU seem to forget that they have a new Captain America? Is it because they're spending all their energy marketing another Captain? 🤔 You'd think he would be of more note to a Manhattan lawyer's mind since he stopped freedom fighters antifa terrorists from killing the GRC members? Hell the Hollywood Reporter forgot and Chris had to remind them. I do feel bad for Anthony Mackie. 🤦 Silver lining-- at least She Hulk isn't obsessing over Sam's virginity??

And yes, I do agree that reducing Steve to jokes about his ass and virginity are a cheap shot. And it shows how puerile and insipid the MCU has become. They have nothing of note to say and they grab for anything that they think is funny, to the point of making jokes of their most beloved characters. I know they're aiming for the widest audience imaginable, including kids, but that doesn't mean they need to write like high schoolers (though tbh I know fanficcers in high school that write better than these guys). What mature adult honestly gives a such a huge crap about whether or not a (thought to be) deceased public figure and national hero had sex?

The first paragraph had me rolling my eyes already:

And it just gets worse.

As She-Hulk continues, viewers can expect to see more hilarious, meta, and, yes, horny moments like this. "The horniness! That stuff is my favorite," Maslany says with a laugh. She loved how Jen is obsessed with Captain America's virginity because "it's the human side of him, the real side, the thing that she would [relate to]."

You're telling me that Jennifer Walters, a lawyer whose opening scene showed her practicing her closing argument for a case against powerful business interests that caused the deaths of innocent people-- that Jennifer Walters, who was standing up for the little guy-- that this strong, compassionate woman, is "obsessed" with Captain America's virginity of all things because it's the "human, real" side of him that she would relate to?? Not the side of him that stood up against bullies at great detriment to his own well-being, even before he had the serum? Not the side of him that curled over a grenade to protect his fellow soldiers? The side that went into a Nazi death camp solo to rescue his best friend (and hundreds of other POWs) when the army left them for dead? The side of him that leveled a Nazi-infested US intelligence agency? The side of him that did exactly what she was shown to be doing right at the beginning of her own show??

I think @luna-rainbow said it best-- "to reduce “the human side of Steve” (or anyone, for that matter) to whether or not they fucked…is seriously superficial, intrusive and just pathetic."

But the actress admits she had no idea this was something Marvel fans have been wondering for years, adding, "I love that that's how everybody's thinking. In that vein of that question, there's a lot more Easter eggs like that throughout the season. There's something later that's a really great moment with a cameo that I won't say what happens, but it's basically like a walk of shame that's really funny."

I shudder to imagine what horrors await us.

And if any fans are wondering how credible Bruce's intel is, the debate can be put to rest: This is officially the true story of how Captain America lost his virginity. "We didn't set out thinking that we were going to be able to answer it," Gao tells EW. "It used to just be a running joke, that it's going to be a lifelong obsession for Jen, that this is the one thing that keeps her awake at night. It actually used to be in the show a lot more, where in every episode there would be some little reminder, like you'd see that her search history was this, and she was always in asides talking to other characters where everybody's reaction was like, 'She's talking about this again.'"

You're kidding me right? Does nobody on this team see how creepy it is for a grown woman to be obsessed lifelong with a dead man's sex life? Compare it to a random male character obsessing every night over whether or not Natasha had been a virgin when she died. And for this to be the thing that keeps her awake at night? Out of all the things she's experienced??

But then Gao got the definitive answer — and permission to use it — from Marvel's mastermind. "It was actually Kevin Feige who said, 'I know the answer. I can tell you. We can do the answer,'" Gao recalls. "And I was like, 'You have the answer, and we can tell everyone?' And he was like, 'Yeah.' So this is Marvel canon. This is straight from Kevin Feige."

SO IT WAS YOU, KEVIN FEIGE!!! Honestly when I read this I almost felt relieved. If it's Feige's own fatuous headcanon, I can ignore it. Why does the status of Steve Rogers' virginity take up so much of his headspace that he feels the need to insert it into a show that has nothing to do with him? And they were going to have it in every episode? Why?! PLEASE tell me they aren't doing that anymore. I don't want anyone in the MCU to ever utter Steve's name again.

What does fans think of Tom Holland dating Anthony Mackie's niece?

They love it! They find it so hilarious when Mackie throws so many digs at Tom while doing interview panels, and Tom just replies with “Where’s your niece? Never mind I know where, in my bed” Kind of making it a pun to his iconic Spiderman line asking about the shop keeper’s daughter. Overall the fans also join in and clown Mackie, by making edits and collages of Tom and Y/n, then tagging Mackie on twitter. Some fans do think it’s a publicity stunt since he’s so famous and she’s up and coming in her career.

Anon 5: Its from the Ghosted set. The guy also posted a selfie with Anthony whose dressed the same as in his scene.

Anon 6: The director for Ghosted said Ryan Reynolds wrote the hilarious dialogue for his cameo after a discussion about Sadie’s previous boyfriends. Do you think Seb and Anthony had input into their cameos too? Because “God the Bounty Hunter” and “Grandson of Sam” are exactly the kind of silly names that Seb and Anthony would come up with. 😂

2022 in movies

In 2022, I had decided to challenge myself to watch 365 movies in one year. I didn't succeed, but I did watch 215 and had a lot of fun with it! I watched many things that I would've never watched otherwise and I discovered that on most days it was very easy to squeeze in a movie. The loss of 2 hours simply made me more efficient!

I'll try this challenge again, but not this year as I'll be busy enough as it is. In the meantime, here are the 43 movies worth mentioning out of all 215.

The ones I couldn't find a category for

Glass Onion (2022). Do I even need to talk about this one?

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967). Even forgetting the historical importance of this movie, it's a good movie. I really enjoy that kind of acting and dialogue.

Locked Down (2021). A couple during lockdown in the UK. It perfectly encapsulates that time and the shift in everyone's perception of what life is and how to live it. It won't go the way you are expecting.

Blood Red Sky (2021). Do you like action movies? Do you like plot twists? Yes??? Then go watch this movie without reading the summary first!!!!!

Strictly Ballroom (1992). All those sparkles.

Love stories

Romantic love

The Decoy Bride (2011). David Tenant is supposed to be getting married to a famous actress but the paparazzi won't leave them alone! So they hire Kelly MacDonald to wear the wedding dress and fool them. It is admittedly a bit boring at the beginning, but the ending is everything.

Splash (1984). Tom Hanks meets a mermaid. HUGE "I love my wife" energy.

What If? (2013). A philosophical take on the friends-to-lovers trope. Loved it.

What’s Your Number? (2011). This one is a hilarious romcom + it has an incredible cast! It stars: Chris Evans (as male lead), Chris Pratt, Zachary Quinto, Andy Samberg and Anthony Mackie. I mean, how??? All of them in the same movie??? How ever did all the planets and the fates align?

Sabrina (1995). The second version, not the one with Audrey Hepburn. It's worth watching just to see Harrison Ford shooting at TVs.

Screwball comedies

Romcoms are out, screwballs are in. My biggest discovery in films for the year.

Bachelor Mother (1939). I LOVE GINGER ROGERS. That's it, that's the whole review. Ginger Rogers is mistaken for the mother of an abandoned newborn. She protests but changes her mind once her handsome boss offers her a stable job so she can support the baby. I'm going to rewatch it every year from now until the day I die.

The Major and the Minor (1942). I LOVE GINGER ROGERS. Ginger Rogers pretends to be a 14-year-old because she can't afford an adult-priced train ticket. A kind soldier takes her under his wing for the trip.

Bluebeard's Eighth Wife (1938). Don't go read what this one is about, just watch it. If you appreciate how cute Gary Cooper is in this one (like moi), I also recommend Ball of Fire (1941).

Easy Living (1937). Jean Arthur gets mistaken for the mistress of a Wall Street giant. Young women messing with rich families in screwball comedies is everything to me.

Other kinds of love (platonic, familial, you name it)

Together Together (2021). Best movie of the year, hands down. About the (completely platonic) relationship between a man who wants to become a father and the woman who becomes his surrogate.

Baby Boom (1987). Diane Keaton as a successful business woman that gets suddenly handed a baby after her long-lost cousin dies.

Turner & Hooch (1989). A possibly OCD Tom Hanks gets a misbehaving dog. There is also a murder investigation going but that's not that important.

Musicals

West Side Story (1961). I've watched both versions and the first one is just better, sorry. It's a great movie if you can make it through the 10 minutes of snapping fingers at the beginning.

Anything Goes (2021). This one is not a movie but a pro-shot of actual musical production. About a group of individuals on a cruise ship (to England?) in the '20s. Sutton Foster is amazing and the production is gorgeous.

Cyrano (2022). I actually watched this in the cinemas. Look, it's from the same director as Pride and Prejudice 2005 and I've had the entire score stuck in my head ever since I saw it, what more do you want? Also, it's set in France but was shot in Sicily, haha.

Period movies

Last Night in Soho (2021). Well, kind of a period movie. A modern-day girl starts getting terrifying visions about the girl who lived in her room during the '60s.

Dunkirk (2017). 1940, on the coast of France, thousands of British soldiers are awaiting evacuation. I cried so hard that my mom came into the room to ask me if I was alright.

The Importance of Being Earnest (2002). What I wouldn't give to see this play in a theatre? I really want to watch more Rupert Everett being a silly British gentleman.

An Education (2009). A British teen in the '60s starts a relationship with an older man with a shady life.

The Queen (2006). Queen Elizabeth's life in the immediate aftermath of Princess Diana's death.

Mixtape (2021). An orphaned teen's search for her parents through discovering the music they loved. It's set in 1999 and has very similar vibes to Turning Red (2022).

Animated movies

Turning Red (2022). Fun and different and the whole ridiculous discourse surrounding it when it came out was just a plus, really.

Whisper of the Heart (1995). My new Ghibli fave. It feels like peace.

Encanto (2021). It deserved that Oscar so much.

Superhero movies

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020). I understand why everyone is upset at this movie, mistakes were made, but it was also an entertaining, enjoyable movie. So??? I don't know. RIP Wonder Woman 3.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 (2012). Frankly the best Spiderman movie out of all the pre-Tom Holland ones (which I watched in preparation for No Way Home) (you will notice that there is not one MCU movie on this list)

Rewatches

Love Among The Ruins (1975). This is one of my favourite movies of all time. It stars an older Katherine Hepburn and Lawrence Olivier. It's a legal drama set in England in the 1910s with big "I love my wife" energy.

Barbie, The Princess and the Pauper (2004). Admittedly, I'm biased. I watched this so many times as a child, in Italian. This was my first time watching it as an adult (and in English) and I must say that I had missed a lot of bits of the plot. Also, as a child, I loved the Princess but now I identify better with the Pauper, #charactergrowth.

Legally Blonde (2001). I watched this years ago and found Elle annoying. But now I realize that it was the internalized misogyny inside of me talking. Now I adore this movie! If you had a similar first experience, it might be worth a rewatch (hello, I literally based this studyblr blog on this movie)

Notting Hill (1999). I had found this one boring the first time around, but admittedly I had watched the first hour, stopped, and then watched the second months later so that kind of ruined everything. It's a very cute movie. The last scene alone makes it worth it.

Documentaries

Our Father (2022). This was so disturbing. About sperm-donor-conceived babies (now adults) discovering that the sperm used to conceive them was not whose they thought it was.

Four Hours at the Capital (2021). About the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The Tinder Swindler (2022). About a man scamming women on Tinder. This was such a wild ride and apparently he is still at it in 2023.

White Hot (2022). Rise and fall of the brand Abercrombie & Fitch.

Coded Bias (2020). How AI & databases are set to discriminate against minorities.

Jane (2017). About Jane Goodall's life story. In case you didn't know, that's the woman who went to live among chimpanzees in 1960, revolutionizing the field. They use plenty of old footage by Hugo van Lawick (her ex-husband & one of the best nature photographers ever) and they are so stunning and peaceful to watch.

Miss Americana (2020). I am, indeed, a Swiftie.

Mercury 13 (2018). Ever wondered why there were no female astronauts in the first Apollo missions? Watch this documentary and find out.
