I'm so so sorry I took this long to make this but i was conflicted on two ideas I got, since i didn't know if you wanted a sfw or nsfw headcanon/blurbs or a oneshot so, since I'm so cool and amazing, I did both! So, expect a Transmasc!Shaun oneshot (with a little twist ;) ), to come out in a few days.

Warnings: sfw, short and maybe kinda rushed, ooc Shaun, he is a clumsy and embarrassed boy, he is taller than us here because I said so, beginning of a relationship.

Shaun who would fall in love with you the first time he sees you reading 'Pride and prejudice' on a bench outside of school.

He is totally smitten with you. He definitely told Jackie right away about his little crush and she, like the best friend she is, made a detailed plan on how to get your attention. And, since Jackie has befriended you -came to your desk after you had just moved schools and, oh so casually asked to be your friend- at the start of the school year (Shaun thinks:"What? She hasn't told me?" with an annoyed look on his face), this could flow all more smoothly.

This detailed plan consists of: Jackie approaching you after class with the intent of asking you to hang out after school, Shaun barging in the conversation asking Jackie something about helping him with literature studies -which Jackie knows is your favorite subject ever in your course-, excusing herself from his demands and asking you to aid her friend. It's perfect, Jackie thinks, Shaun feels this is too much but who is he to complain? Everything goes smoothly till, when he has to act his part in the plan, Shaun accidentally trips on thin air and falls, the contents of his backpack spilling all over the ground and the remains of his coffee staining his papers and shirt.

He is silent, his cheeks getting red with embarrassment. Both him, Jackie and you do not move for a moment, until the first one to move is you. You neatly pick up the papers and books that have fallen near you, meeting his eyes and looking at him with worry, "Are you ok?". His lips feel dry and his blood pressure rises causing him to redden even more than before "U-u-hh I... I am okay...", he feels like he is going to melt on the spot.

When he gets up, you have already helped him with all of his belongings, Jackie hadn't moved at all from her spot, too embarrassed (even if she hadn't been the one to be utterly humiliated in front of her crush). You try to lighten up the situation, joking about it all, Shaun laughs with you but he is in discomfort: the only chance he had to be the 'cool mysterious guy' blew off of his face, leaving a clumsy and stupid version of himself to the girl in front of him. You, on the other hand, don't think of him in that way: sure it was a bit embarrassing, and also funny, but he must've felt really embarrassed so you don't think about it too much.

Sometime passes, Shaun for the first days after closes himself in his room, remembering it all and changing inside his mind what happened. Jackie tries to call him, but he is unreachable; everything is starting to get ridiculous so Jackie rings the bell of Shaun's house and finds before her, her friend emotionally destroyed. She tries to comfort him, but to no avail; he is also angry at her but he won't mention it, otherwise Jackie would never let him hear the end of it. Much to his surprise, Jackie says that you asked him, "Is he ok? I haven't seen him" and "If he still needs help with the exam, I am here". He is very much red by now, the little hairs at the end of his neck standing up and his eyes watery. "...Really?".

When you meet him again, Shaun is tidy, he wears one of his flannel shirts and gray jeans, he has shaved the uneven peach fuzz that grew on his lips due to testosterone, and has a small red cut on the left side of his lip ("Who knows what she likes?" he tells Jackie while messily shaving himself "And besides I don't want to look like a barbarian!" says while unnoticing the small cut that he made. "Ah!" Jackie laughs, "Now you look like you've gotten into a fight with a cat!"). He tries to act cool, despite his total lack of knowledge on how to. When he sits down with you for the study session, the common hall is silent and you have to whisper, causing him to get a bit flustered. Your study session is cut short when you guys start to have an actual full-on conversation; unknowingly, you both start to talk and laugh a bit more loudly than normal, causing both of you to be escorted out of the library. Out, you two forgot completely your duties and spent an entire afternoon hanging out and talking. You notice it's starting to become dark, and when you look at the hour you see that you've lost an entire afternoon of study: you apologize profusely to him, and schedule another meeting. He can't complain, he gets to see you more.

For a while, this is your routine: meeting, trying to study, chatting and losing track of time. Until the exam gets close, so you try to help Shaun as much as possible and, with little to no surprise, he passes the exam. You are so proud of him, very much so, but now there is the little problem of how to see him again; he doesn't need your help again after all, maybe he never did. So you stay silent, hoping he will reach out to you. Unknowingly to you, Shaun feels the exact same, staring at his phone on the nightstand and hoping to receive a call. But none of you make the first step, both too afraid of rejection. That is when Jackie steps in, barging into Shaun's home with new, like Cupid, she strikes him with "She wants to see you again, I think she might like you". He is on cloud nine, his heart pumps fast and it looks like he might die of happines on the spot.

He calls, asking you to meet him at the same bench he saw you sitting on the first time. When you come, he is all giddy and blushy, he tries to rub off his tension from his hands. His voice is struck in his throat, he is the first to talk "I think...I would like to see you again, if it's fine..." you would like to kiss him, you think, but you're not sure he would like it at all, so instead you mutter "Sure...I would like that too'' with a smile. Your eyes met and without notice, you locked lips in a kiss. It's passionate, it's relieving, it's months of feelings and desires all in one kiss. You let out a breathy laugh, causing him to laugh in the kiss with you also, his arms hug your waist and you his neck, impossibly close to one another. He sighs, his heart is speeding and he feels a happines so strong that it almost seems pain,"Thank you, thank you, thank you...", he holds you close and strokes your cheeks “Thank you!".

I know you don't usually weigh in on non-canon content, but I've seen a lot of people say 236 was a bad ending, or like gege joked, that things are moving too fast or he's missed a chapter (or 20, I'm personally annoyed that we jumped from Nov to Dec 24, I know gege wants the manga to end for some reason, but those three weeks of training/preparation would have been a great time to let us get re-invested in the student characters since the culling game arc felt like it was missing so much)

Do you have any feeling for what could have been a better way to end things, if indeed things are ended, for Gojou Satoru? Or do you agree that things have been moving too fast?

Sorry for this and please feel free not to answer if this is not the kind of question you want to entertain, I am just curious if you have an opinion you're willing to share since I feel you have a very good grasp of the jjk's plot and themes! I trained as a literature major, so my interest is always in whether character consistency is maintained and what a story is saying and whether that message is carried successfully or not and what that might mean for us as readers. I'm personally still on the fence about this particular twist because I'm trying to withhold judgement of the piece until we actually see it as a whole, but I am starting to feel that the narrative started to unravel a bit after Shibuya, like somehow we didn't see a lot of the characters to their full potential (like Nobara T.T my baby Nobara). Maybe this is just part of gege's notorious fast pace.

Some of this I believe is due to JJK's titular meaning of the issue of curses and what they represent being an "endless battle" but there's only so many times one can show hopelessness and loss I think before it becomes almost redundant. We actually haven't seen that many on-screen sorcerer deaths, but somehow it's been two of the most popular adult characters so far, and only direct mentors, which is a frequent trope of the hero's journey in western literature. I think that even though I really wish it hadn't happened, Nanami's ending made a lot of sense. Power-wise, Gojo's current death also makes sense, and he's not the kind of character who instantly changes his mind or learns something in his heart from a single experience, but I think it feels somewhat frustrating from my point of view because despite the bodhisattva imagery, he had more to learn as a living person, rather than continuing to believe he was like a flower and maybe no one had the right to ask him to understand. I don't know, it's just a bit frustrating for me because I think it feels character consistent (which I think gege tends to be pretty good at) but somehow incomplete too.

Again my apologies for the long ask, you're always the one I wish I could sit down and have a conversation about these things with!

First of all, I don't really think Gojou's death is particularly bad, but yeah, as you said, there might be something leaves to be desired in the plot - if jjk is a traditional shonen manga, that is. But jjk is different, which is also the reason for its popularity. I feel that jjk storytelling has always been fast-paced, and one thing that Akutami-sensei does really well is to stick to the main points that he wants to tell with his manga. The last time we have a non-serious non-battle chapter was probably chapter 64 lol - but at the same time, this also shows how jjk departs from the traditional shonen jump manga custom where the mangaka tends to drag the story to make the manga runs longer. Gege on the other hand, seems adamant to want to end the story sooner than later (if his last estimation is to be believed, only a few months left for jjk).

I don't actually have a strong feeling of how gege should end thing with Gojou, but it's been a habit of him to get to the.. shocking side of things; we see this with Gojou getting sealed back in Shibuya. Nanami's death. Then we see the Culling game, and Tengen getting killed. And lastly for Gojou to die. The longstanding status quo is going to be changed eventually. And the next one with status quo is already targeted; Sukuna himself.

As I follow this manga, "things moving too fast" has always been the opinion I saw a lot discussed here in my askbox for many, many developments in the manga. And this is more of a personal preference, but I actually like the fast-get-to-the-point-storytelling that Gege uses with jjk, exactly because how it breaks away from traditional jump manga. I feel that this fast pace is just how gege do his storytelling since the beginning lol

tldr is all I can say is jjk has always been different and fast-paced, gege is unpredictable, and I'm in the opinion that Gojou's death does make sense, unfortunately :')

This is a bit random but I wanted to share this funny idea where Percy gets de-aged, maybe between five to six years old. So his friends pray to the gods for help in how to turn him back, and Hermes decides to come down and see for himself. And I imagine Hermes is quite good with children (idk, something about his most popular story being when he stole Apollo’s Cattle as a baby) so Percy immediately takes a liking to him. Annabeth, who we know is not so fond of Hermes, is Not Pleased by this lol. Of course, this only encourages Hermes 😂 Even once Percy is turned back, Annabeth never lets it go

You are 100% onto something when you say that Hermes is good with children. In TLO we see Hermes craddling baby!Luke in his arms outside the big house, and idk about you but just the imagery of Hermes craddling a young baby/child? Very cute, big "good-with-children" vibes.

There's also the fact that Hermes's domains/attributes include mischievousness and pranks, which are things you find commonly enjoyed and done by kids. Like young kids just want to play and get read stories all the time, you know? Hermes's domains go well with this; even if we haven't seen him do it in canon.

Also yessss Hermes being more pointed in capturing kid!Percy's attention for the sole petty reason of annoying Annabeth? I love it. I mean, I know in canon he admits he shouldn't have gotten mad at Annabeth (which is good of him to be the bigger person) but like. It's so funny, imagining him being playfully petty while also helping Percy out. And ofc Annabeth's gonna hold a grudge XD

A/N: Oh no, I'm sorry you're having a bad day! Not that my day is much better since I have the flu, but it allows me to stay home haha. I wrote this one-shot especially for you in the hope that it will cheer you up a bit! Please keep sending requests, the ideas are really good! And it makes me very happy that my stories cheer you up, that makes my day better!

One thing that’s important to know is that no matter how bad the situation is, you’re gonna crack a lil jokey joke. Most of your wonderful partners find this hilarious. They find it funny that the smart, nerdy (and extremely sexy, if you say so yourself) scientist is in reality a small and arrogant trouble maker. Fike and Brown even call you a feral chiwawa behind your back, and don't worry, you'll get your revenge on them. Others find it mildly annoying and by "others" you mean Miles. Don't get it wrong, he loves you dearly, but sometimes you're a bit much to handle. Especially in the early morning, before he and the others have had their coffee.

“Due to personal reasons I'll be turning things up fuckin notch.” You announce as you stroll out of Lyle’s bedroom and into the living area. They sigh and some mumble that they haven't had their coffee yet. “What is it this time darlin?” Miles asks, as Mansk quickly makes a giant pot of coffee. "So I have a new co-worker, Mike, and he is the most stupid, annoying, arrogant man I have ever met, god, he’s so full of himself, thinking that everyone either wants to date him of be him, he’s even worse than Lyle!" you exclaim, ignoring his indignant “HEY!”

“And then it turns out he's Sarah's nephew,” you sigh and climb to sit on the kitchen counter. Walker stands between your legs and presses a long sweet kiss to your lips. “Who is Sarah again?” you hear Brown ask confused. You pull away from Walker and look at him with mild irritation. "My boss?" you say in a 'duh' tone. “And then he tells me 'don't start' and it just makes me want to start.” You drop your head against Walker's bicep and Mansk offers you a cup of coffee. “Coffee isn't enough, I need to be struck by lightning.” You sigh. “That's the only way I can get through today.”

You accept the cup of coffee anyway and pout as you look at the clock. "I have to go, I have the daily morning meeting which is completely useless." You jump off the kitchen counter and head to the science department. After you've given all your lovers a big kiss, of course.

The moment the sliding glass door opens in front of you, you're besieged by the latest wonderful addition to the science department. "Good morning, beautiful!" he says in a voice that you can only describe as trying to be 'sultry'. You scoff, ignoring him and walking to your usual spot at the table. "Hey, I was wondering are you seeing someone?" he asks as he plops down in the chair next to you and throws his feet up on the table right in front of you. “As in a hallucination, a therapist or a person, be specific.” you answer, pushing his nasty feet off the table with a pen.

“You look too good to be single.” he tries to seduce you. You grin, “Baby it's not the looks, I'm not right in the head.” You purr at him. “You better think twice before you reject me,” he warns. “I can easily convince my aunt to fire you.” he boasts. You laugh hysterically, causing your other colleagues to look at you with worried and confused eyes. “Buddy I don't even think once.” You giggle.

"Do you know who I am?!" he raises his voice slightly. "I don't think…” you trail off slightly before you gasp loudly. “WAIT A MINUTE! Michael! From high school! I haven't seen you since you pissed yourself on stage at graduation, how the hell have you been???" You say it just loud enough so that everyone in the meeting room can hear you and you see shocked and horrified looks in their eyes.

“What the fuck is wrong with you,” he growls. “Do you mean today or in general?” you wink at him and turn your attention to Sarah, who is trying to get everyone's attention so she can start the meeting. You feel more than you see that he is staring intensely at you. You meet his angry glare, blink innocently and take a loud, obnoxious sip of your coffee. And in your head you decide that Mansk really makes the best coffee.

After the meeting, walk out of the meeting room as quickly as possible to get to work. Your friend and colleague, Mary, quickly catches up with you. "What was that?" she asks, laughing. “Nothing that has a major impact on my life,” you reply. "Well, whatever it was, it was completely hilarious." she laughs.

"But seriously, you really need to tell me about your date night with your partner's last night." she grins, wiggling her eyebrows. You grin back and think back to last night. “Well first Mansk had cooked an extremely delicious dinner,” you start. “You really have to bring me leftovers from his cooking sometime,” Mary interrupts. “You always go on about how good it is, but how can I judge it if I've never tasted it!” She hooks her arm through yours and quickly pulls you into the lab and leads you to her work station. "Yeah, yeah, can I tell you more or don't you want to hear the steamy details?" you ask teasingly. Mary quickly shuts up and lets you continue.

"Anyway, after dinner we went to watch a movie, and before you ask, the title is 365 days." Mary interrupts you again. "Isn't that pretty much a porn movie?!" she exclaims. "Be quiet!" you hiss at her. "Do you want the entire department to be able to enjoy the stories about my sex life or something?" Mary shakes her head and gestures for you to continue. "And let me put it this way, we recreated a number of certain scenes from the film." You finish with a sly smile. "Oh come on! I need details!" Mary begs. You shake your head. "You clearly don't know how to speak softly and I don't want to get scolded for talking about sex while working."

Mary scoffs. "It's not like I have an interesting or even existent sex life," she sighs. "And then your partners are also ten gigantic sexy aliens." You shake your head, laughing. "Then you have to lower your standards, that'll get you laid." “Ew, no thank you.” Mary looks disgusted. "Hey, can't you lend me one of those partners?" she leans her chin on her hand and blinks innocently. You laugh, “You couldn't handle them.” "See! if I couldn't handle them it would mean wild sex!"

"Say ladies, is this a suitable conversation for the workplace?" You squeeze your eyes shut and sigh in annoyance. "What do you want, Mike." "You'll be glad I decided to give you another chance." he says with an annoying smile that you would like to slap off his face.

“I wonder if you'll look both ways before you get on my damn nerves,” you say between your clenched teeth, forcing a smile. Immediately his eyes narrow. "Didn't your father ever teach you to appreciate a man's interest? You're lucky I want you." You bare your teeth. “The one thing my dad taught me is that when the going gets tough, dip.” You get up. "And that's exactly what I'm going to do now. Mary, have a nice day. Mike, have a day." You give Mary a quick hug and mumble, "'I swear, he's the reason God created the middle finger." You pay no attention to her snort and walk to your own workstation.

Finally you can focus on your work. You are currently continuing research into the neurological connection on Pandora, the original work of Dr. Grace Augustine. As always, you don't know the time and you absentmindedly ask Mary what time it is several times. "Hey Mary, what's the time?" You ask absently. “I just told you two minutes ago.” she answers, used to your fixation on your work. "I don't control the remember." Mary doesn't answer, still typing on her computer. “But seriously, what time is it,” you ask again as you examine your monster of Pandora's nature. "It's five o'clock, I'll be finishing up work soon." You look up in surprise, "Five o'clock already?" You close your work and tidy up.

Out of the corner of your eye you see Mike approach you and before you can escape the lab, he speaks to you again. “This is getting really annoying,” he announces. "No really?!" you reply sarcastically. “You know,” you start, “I hope I frustrate you a lot and you think about me a lot, now have a good evening and please don't hesitate to contact me.” You pat him on the shoulder and quickly make your escape, shouting a goodbye to Mary.

You make your way back to your accommodation, to your partners, as quickly as possible. You burst through the door and quickly lock it behind you. "What is the matter with you?" Prager asks worriedly when he sees your irritated look. “Mike kept bugging me,” you sigh and Prager lovingly pulls you into his lap. “What did he do, should we deal with him for you?” Asks Yes. You groan and are tempted to say yes, but Mansk announces that dinner is ready. You immediately take the opportunity not to answer, because you would almost say yes and that would most likely get your partners into trouble, which of course you don't want. You miss the tense look that Ja and Prager share with your other partners. A look that promises violence. Before your partners can help themselves to their food, quickly grab a container to set aside some food for Mary so she can assess it. You quickly explain before you start eating.

You've almost finished eating when the intercom at the door announces that someone is at the door. “I'll go,” you say, jumping to the ground. You immediately regret it when you open the door. Even outside of work he can't leave you alone. "I'm transferring to another research facility, I doubt we'll meet again." he announces. You blink in disbelief. "Do you promise?" You ask hopefully. Mike gets a pained look in his eyes and nods. You almost feel sorry for him, almost. Because the next words that come out of his mouth are, "Unless you come with me, I can take care of you, then you will never have to worry about things that are way too difficult for you again." "You know Mike, someday you'll go far." You say sympathetically and pat him on the shoulder. “I hope you stay there,” you nod to yourself. You immediately see Mike getting angry again and you feel a presence behind you.

“Get out of here, you bastard.” Miles snaps, placing his hand on your hip. You've never seen any scientist run away so fast. You chuckle and look up at your partners. “My brain is tired,” you complain, eager to change the conversation so your partners don't feel like pursuing Mike is a good idea, you're really not in the mood to bail them out of the slammer.

Z-dog grabs your hand and leads you to the couch to rest for a while. She rests your head in her lap and runs a soothing hand through your hair. You relax and before you can fall asleep, you quickly say your prayer. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep; and if I die before I wake, good." You faintly hear laughter around you before you fall asleep.

A little later you are woken up by Z-dog. "Come on, let's go to bed." You sit up sleepily and stumble to the bathroom. “Babe, I put the bowl of food for your friend in the refrigerator,” Mansk says and your mind immediately flashes back to your conversation this morning. “You know…” you start and you have everyone's attention. "Tomorrow isn't promised… clap my cheeks tonight, why wait." You look at your partners one by one and see ten identical smug grins looking back.

Ever since you and Obanai stayed after that day it never left obanai's mind and was a repeating dream. Hi! I'm a big fan of Papyrus conspiracies, excpically as someone who LOVES to theorise about the mysteriously upbeat side character. I'm not sure if these things has been mentioned before but... I would like to put my two cents in.

No eyelights. Canonically, San's eye lights disapepar when he is too angry at the player to keep up his smiling mask. But Papyrus NEVER has eyelights, just a goofy human eyeball thing when he's being expecially silly. But. Never. Any. Eyelights. I feel like this is important.

If Sans was a scientist prior to everything else, wouldn't it have been strange to live in Snowdin? I mean, there is the River Person and San's shortcuts, but it doesn't make much sense. Sooo, at some point it would have been reasonable for them to have lived in Hotland.

The lack of astrick before the text when he talks. I don't know why it is like that but it just is Strange and I want to know more. WHAT COULD IT MEAN? I am sure it means SOMETHING.

Attracts cyrptids/time gods like flies to honey. The Annoying Dog, Flowey, the River Person that nobody else seems to know about. Flowey isn't the only one that seems to find this "naive child" strangely interesting.

I miss getting Papyrus theory asks, so this was really nice to receive. ;w;

I have seen some of these before, but it's really nice to have them compiled into an ask like this, anon. Papyrus has a lot of very unusual things about him, like Sans does. I love the asterisks bit because it really is strange that he's the only one who never uses asterisks. He also does attract a lot of god-like beings, and even Flowey seems fond of him.

My theory on the part where he forgives you is because he did something terrible in the past and tried to be better, but who knows? We barely know about his past. Even with Sans, at least we know he's a scientist.

I also think that the skelebros used to live in Hotland, something must have happened there which resulted in Papyrus hating Hotland.

I love the Gauntlet of Deadly Terror, I think that's why Undyne calls him a "brutal guy", because he's perfectly capable of making some pretty deadly stuff like that. ^^

regarding the post today about Anna's nasty comments, "jokes" etc about Michael's appearance in the last few years. Do you think there is genuine reason to feel worried about him and what it may be doing to his mental health overall? What I mean is I am starting to worry and then it makes start to spiral a bit and think that if he stays with her longer that the possibility of her "soft bullying" will escalate into actual abuse and I really don't want to think like that but it really makes me worry for him. Please tell me what you think and should I just take a step back and not think on it too hard (am I?) If you agree with me though, what do you think can be done to help him? Like as in a safe way for him to break up with her? I appreciate whatever you can do to help ease my mind at least.

I have to wonder about Michael's state of mind. He has said he has his own body issues and has struggled with depression etc. The fact that he is "letting" her do this makes me worry about him a little. The fact that he's not standing up for himself and setting a boundary. From my own experience, all of this is okay, until it's not. My heart goes out to Michael. Of course I don't know the real truth. But I see a little of myself there. I recognize it.

First, I am glad that you felt comfortable enough to message me about this and share your thoughts. But I think there are a few things going on here, and it's important that we have some perspective. When I started responding to asks and questions about AL on my blog four years ago, it was largely as a counter to what many of us were seeing the fans do, which was idealizing Michael and AL's relationship and making it into some sort of fairy tale romance. Many of us could see things that did not seem to hold true to this narrative, but were afraid to discuss it openly. So the discourse became about open and honest conversations and speculation, and since GO 2 came out, that discourse has only seemingly increased (if the Asks and Anons in my inbox are anything to go by).

To your comments, @martinsharmony, these are some very good points you are raising, and I'm sorry that you see yourself in Michael's shoes. I think there's a chance many of us do, and is part of why we have the strong feelings we do--one way or the other--about this situation. I think a lot of us see Michael's visible unhappiness and are jarred by the sharp contrast between that and the narrative of him and AL being "madly in love."

I do, however, think there is a real risk of taking that line of thinking so far in the opposite direction. That is, if it's not okay for fans to assume that everything is perfect and wonderful and the absolute best with Michael and AL's relationship, then it is also not okay to assume everything is the absolute worst, because extremes in either direction are not a good thing, and reality often exists somewhere in the middle. Reality and relationships are also infinitely complicated, which means that there often are no easy answers.

Also, because things are not ever truly black-and-white, I think it's important not to conflate being an unpleasant person with being an abuser. There tends to be an assumption that an abuser is mean and nasty all the time, every day, but so many abusers are viewed as "the nicest person you ever met" by everyone but the victim, which is how they are so often able to get away with what they do. Conversely, someone (such as AL) might be self-absorbed, immature, and annoying, but that does not make them an abuser.

Again, in no way, shape, or form am I saying that it is a bad thing to care about Michael, or to want him to be happy. But what we are ultimately talking about here is Michael's agency--that is, his right to make his own choices, and to deal with and feel whatever he feels about the consequences of those choices. By either romanticizing or catastrophizing his relationship with AL, we are unintentionally removing that agency. We have to remember that Michael is an adult man who has been in many other relationships in his life, and has navigated those (with varying degrees of success) on his own. So while we can have conversations and engage in discussion here, it is very much not appropriate and not our place to intervene with any of this personally or to try and facilitate the breakup of Michael's relationship.

Remember, too, that Michael has people in his life that he can trust and confide in--his parents (who are still alive and live near him, bless them), his sister, his friends. And he has David, of course, which we know is a beautiful thing. He and David have gotten immeasurably closer over the last four years and it is genuinely heartwarming to know that he can turn to David. The point here is that while we are fans of Michael's, we are not his family nor his friends. But Michael is not alone in this, and has support available to him, and that is something to be grateful for.

Going back to my previous comments about agency, one of the things that I know I love about Michael is that he is always going to do what he wants to do. He has reasons for doing those things, which means that if he is still with Anna, there is a reason for that (even if it is, as many of us believe, due to wanting to be there for the kids). And if/when Michael should decide to break up with her, there will be a reason for that as well. The most important thing, however, is that it's his choice. That if he decides he's made a mistake, it's his mistake to own, and not something for us to save him from.

I hope this has helped to put your mind at ease. I also want to make it clear that I absolutely do not have all the answers, and this (like all my posts) is my own opinion. Taking a step back might still be a good idea, as we can all find ourselves becoming too invested from time to time, and it is good to take a breather on occasion and find perspective. Glad as always for my followers to share their thoughts on this post as well...

Hey, it's the anon that asked if chronic pain counted as a physical disability

I guess I just wanted to ask a few other things because you're like the first person who has actually answered my questions on this kind of stuff— I'm sorry if it becomes annoying or if my questions are stupid, I really struggle with research and stuff, so if this stuff is easily found on google or something then im sorry

I wanted to mainly ask what counts as debilitating? I mean my chronic pain tends to come in episodes that last a few minutes to a few hours (well the most noticeable of it, which is my ribs. But I do tend to havesort of aches in my joints, knees((are they joints?)), hip and some other places pretty commonly, and that usually lasts a few hours but I'm usually good at ignoring that), sometimes it can happen every day for a week and sometimes I can go weeks without experiencing or noticing any pain. I can still do things that most people do I think? Other than running or walking up hills, that usually takes away all my breath and makes the pain really bad (so bad I've had to lay on the floor for up to 10-20 minutes because I walked up too many hills). I don't know if that would count as debilitating

For further context, I am quite young and I don't have any diagnosis, I haven't seen a doctor over it because my parents don't believe my pain is real and often say it's growing pains (I don't think it is, since it started back when I was like 7-9, so before I started growing) so I don't really know much about this or my body really

going bit by bit so its easier on my dyslexia, what counts as debilitating? subjective to the person but overall; debilitating means a condition or otherwise symptom of some kind causng a person to be weak, effects their usual functions or otherwise hindering, so for something to be disabling / debilitating and to count as such, it just means it hinders you in some way and generally makes you weaker in a "more suseptible to" way, such as chronic pain making it so you cant get out of bed i the morning, you cant lift heavy things like chairs etc.

it common for chronic pain and other chronic conditions to come in episodes my moms chronic migranes for example only happen about once a month. it still counts as chronic so long as its reoccuring and when it does occur if it hinders you in any way then it very much counts as debilitating and therefore a disablity.

the pain level doesnt have to be consistent nor does the time length, just that its reoccuring in some way.

knees are joints yes. when it comes to joint issues and pain its likely that form of chronic pain is caused by a type of arthritis, fibromyalgia and/or some other autoimunity that is known to cause that. not certain but i just felt like that might be worth noting.

my chronic pain causes me issues with walking just like that, people without this condition dont often struggle with losing energy nor feel pain after walks or runs, uphill or otherwise, unless they have something else goig on with their body. if it effects you lower body its no surprise your mobility in that area is effected in some way too. i got myself a cane to help me with this as i walk uphill to work often (at least its one reason it helps me)

that hinderance alone, effectig your stamina, counts as debilitating, it might now sound or feel as severe as what other people expirience but it counts

it sucks that people equate age to conditions and then dont believe young people like us when we have issues, but age has nothing to do with it, you can expirience anything like this at any age for a number of reasons. i was born with a defect i my spine we didnt find until i was 18-19 and id been i pain for well over a decade now.

you'll find its hard to get people to listen to you now, but once you know what to say, for example telling them how long that this has been going on and how it effects you, even what you suspect it night be and dont let them derail from exploring those possabilities, you can /get/ them to listen to you.

sucks hard that people wont listen in the first place, especially when they think they know everything. but youre the only one whos gonna know and understand your body best because only you can listen to it when it sends you signals like pain.

I had an IdeaTM if you feel like writing (: So at the end of Defiance, right? Logan realizes what happened, he was being manipulated by Orange, yadda yadda. Afterwards, he refuses to talk about it. He's just overall very cold and closed off, because maybe if he grips his emotions tight enough and keeps a firm enough control over his mind then nobody will be able to take him over like that again. The others become pretty concerned for him, because they haven't seen him this detached since the early episodes. And they're probably also a bit annoyed that he's shwing such indifference. Eventually somebody snaps, and Logan figuratively grips the jar that is his emotions so tightly that it shatters in a messy explosion that cuts everyone and ends in him completely vulnerable, apologizing for everything he thinks he's done wrong. And then idk what happens, comfort :D – anon

    Logan's acting weird.

Now, Roman's the first to admit that he's a harsh judge of what Logan's doing, at least out loud, but that's their thing. Creativity vs. Logic and all that, Right Brain vs. Left Brain. They're used to getting on each other's nerves, egging each other on, getting into pointless arguments that don't mean anything and are just for fun and to make each other stop being stuck-up idiots all the time. Yes, Roman can admit he's a stuck-up idiot most of the time! Granted, he's putting it on, more likely than not, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's doing! It's a role, it's his role, it's the one he and Logan have perfected in their banter back and forth.

At least…it used to be.

Now, though, when Roman tries to start one of their stupid inane debates, Logan just shuts him down immediately. Not even a moment to entertain whatever point Roman's trying to make, immediately just telling him that he's wrong very bluntly or ignoring the obvious joke setup he's trying to volley. Even when he makes a big deal out of not understanding something very simple, Logan doesn't even humor him anymore, he just tells Roman he's wrong and what the right answer is. Sometimes he does it without even looking at him. He's categorically refusing to commit to the bit and that is a cardinal sin.

And okay, maybe Roman could pick his moments a little better, and not right in the middle of a meeting or something where everyone else is trying really hard to be productive—okay, mostly everyone else, thank you, Remus—and Logan's got his hands full trying to help everyone else. But that's the point! Another thing those arguments help do is get the others to snap out of it! 'Cause they'll just get into little squabbles themselves that aren't productive and then if they watch Logan and Roman get into one, more often than not they realize that whatever they were on about isn't helping anyone either and they all get to have a laugh at themselves, calm down, and actually start talking like adults! It's a foolproof plan that works 87% of the time, according to Logan!

But lately, that percentage has taken such a steep nosedive that Roman's not sure the plane has any survivors left.

Now, he just gets shunted to the outside of the conversation. He'll get told off by not just Logan, but everyone else when they see how upset it makes Logan. Which he doesn't understand, they've talked about the jokes he's not supposed to make and the buttons Logan doesn't want him to push and he's not, he's staying away from those. He's picking literally the softest balls to throw, they're so plush and fluffy, and Logan's burning them out of the sky with a flamethrower. He's even tried to go up to Logan after the meetings or whenever these happen, trying to ask what he's doing wrong, Logan used to like these, what can he do better, but Logan just turns him away and says he doesn't have time for jokes.

Which is how Roman knows Logan's really acting weird.

Logan's favorite long-running bit is that he doesn't understand any sort of joke. That doesn't mean he finds them funny, but he gets why other people would find them funny. He loves playing the ironic straight man for the others because then he's included in the joke but he doesn't have to pretend to be something he's not. Other than the straight part. But Roman can remember how much he was trying to stop himself from smiling the first time they did the overexplain bit in front of the others, he used to love that bit—and he's not trying to say that Logan can't change! Tastes evolve, people grow, it's just a fact of life, but it's—he's getting worried.

He tried to go confront Logan—gently! He wasn't trying to corner him or anything!—and ask if he's genuinely okay, but Logan just thanked him for asking and changed the subject. Which is a lie of omission if Roman's ever heard one. Or not heard—you get it.

So he tried the sneakier route and he found out that Logan's not met up with Virgil or Remus for their watch parties where they analyze horror stuff, he's not been on his usual walk with Janus through the peaceful part of the Imagination. He's not even been downstairs on weekend mornings to help Patton with the baking. Then he realized that Logan's favorite mug isn't getting used anymore—he's not being a stalker, okay, one of his household chores is to clean the dishes that are hand-wash only and Logan's mug is hand-wash only—and instead he's using this plain white mug that isn't even big enough to hold a decent amount of coffee. And he called off working on his own projects with Roman, like, eight times now.

So, yeah. Logan's acting weird and Roman's worried.

Now, if only he could get Logan to stop glaring at him…

"Shit, Princey," Virgil mutters, "you've been using all one of your brain cells on this, huh?"

Roman doesn't take the bait. He just looks at Logan with what he hopes is the please understand how sincerely concerned I am as someone who cares about you face as Logan's jaw sets and he folds his arms.

"Perhaps this would explain why Thomas has been having such a hard time working on the finale," he says coldly, "his Creativity is clearly focused on the wrong thing."

"Hey, wait," Remus says, frowning, "why is being worried about you the wrong thing?"

"Roman's right," Patton adds, crossing his arms too, "that's—that's a worrying amount of things, kiddo."

"I believe I have asked you not to call me that."

"Right, right, sorry, Logan."

Logan sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "If this is all this meeting is supposed to be about, I ask that you leave me out of them in future unless there is something pressing to discuss."

"This is pressing!" Roman takes a small step forward despite the way Logan's still glaring at him. "You're not alright, Logan, I know you aren't—"

"Oh, because you're always an excellent judge of me, aren't you?"

Okay, ouch, but fair. "Logan, I didn't mean it like that—"

"Then why don't you say what you do mean," Logan interrupts, before he stops himself and takes a deep breath. "I apologize, that was untoward."

Roman just waves him off. Logan looks for a moment like he might say something else before his expression hardens and he turns away.

"If that will be all—"

"Hold on, L," Virgil says, sitting up and reaching over the banister to touch Logan's shoulder, "we're not gonna leave it like this. As much as I hate to say it, Roman's right. You've been off since we had that whole weird thing with the orange mist, are you sure it isn't—"

"It's fine," Logan spits out, shrugging Virgil's hand off, "it is not affecting me anymore, any influence it had was eliminated when the switch was thrown."

A quiet hiss comes from his other side as Janus exchanges a look with Roman. Roman just shrugs helplessly—he's just brought the problem up, that doesn't mean he knows how to solve it, that's what he needs everyone else's help for. Janus nods in understanding and moves to get in front of Logan again.

"Logan," he says quietly, "if this is affecting Roman's ability to focus, then shouldn't that mandate that we reassure whatever irrational worry he's worked into his head so that we can all get back to work?"

"I think you somehow got both of us with that one," Virgil mutters, "irrational worries are my thing."

Roman doesn't even care because Logan's still trying to leave. Whatever hushed conversation he's having with Janus is getting louder and louder and out of sheer desperation, he moves forward to talk to Logan himself—

Suddenly he's flying across the room. His back hits the wall with a slam and he slides to the floor, dazed.

"Holy shit—"

"Roman!"

Remus appears in front of him as Roman blinks, dazed. He cups his hands around Roman's face and looks at him hard. Roman clumsily pats his wrist. "Hey, 'm all good."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, yeah, wasn't that bad."

"Janny?"

"He's telling the truth."

"See?" Roman swats lightly at Remus's shoulders. "Lemme up. I'm fine."

"You get hit in the head too much, Princey," Virgil mutters, still sounding slightly baffled that Roman just flew across the room and smacked into the wall.

"You get used to it."

"I'm pretty sure that's a bad thing. Back me up, Logan."

When no response comes, Roman shakes himself off and gets up, immediately letting out a soft noise of concern when he sees the tears streaming down Logan's face. Janus has two of his hands on Logan's shoulders, a third one gently around his wrist. Roman holds his hands up and cautiously approaches, stopping when Logan lets out a whimper.

"Hey, hey," he murmurs, "I'm okay, I'm not mad. I'm not even hurt, see?"

"He's not lying," Janus says, the hands softening as Logan starts to wobble, "come sit, sweetie, let Roman be a mother hen for a second."

"I think that's Patton's thing."

"No, he's Papa Cock!"

"Never say anything like that again, Remus."

Roman tunes them out in favor of crouching in front of Logan. After a moment, he reaches out and lays his hands palm up if Logan wants to take them. "I'm not mad, really, Logan. I'm just worried. You—are you okay?"

Logan looks down, tears still brimming fat and heavy in the corners of his eyes and he slowly shakes his head and sniffles. Roman holds his hands out a little more and Logan takes them, squeezing tentatively. "I'm sorr—sorry, Roman."

"It's okay, it's okay—"

"It's not," Logan interrupts, glaring as if on sheer willpower alone he could make himself stop crying long enough to speak, "it's not okay that I just did that, or that I—that I've been rude to you and—and that I'm not using my favorite mug anymore—"

"Shh, take a moment," Janus encourages, rubbing his back, "shh, shh, there you go…"

Logan sniffles again. "I just—I'm just—I—"

Over on the staircase, Virgil makes a quiet oh sound. "He's scared, Princey."

"Of me? Am I making it worse?"

"No, not of you—not directly, anyway." Virgil comes around and sits at the base of the stairs. "L, can I—is this helpful?"

Logan nods and Roman brings his hand up to kiss Logan's knuckles.

"He's—he's afraid of the orange thing coming back," Virgil continues, "given how easily it affected him last time, he's afraid—oh, L, it's okay."

"It will use me to hurt you again," Logan mumbles around hitching breaths, "and I—I don't—I don't want to hurt you, it's—but it's so much stronger than—than me when I'm—when I'm—like th-this, so—I'm—Roman, I'm sorry!"

"Shh, hey, hey, hey—" he kisses Logan's hand again— "I'm not mad, I promise, see? It's okay to be scared, that thing that happened was really scary, but the rest of us are here, you know? We'll help you."

The others make their noises of agreement as Logan starts to scoot toward the edge of the couch. Roman opens his arms and lets Logan crash into his lap, wrapping his arms around him and holding him closer.

"There, is that better? You just wanna hold onto me a bit?" Logan nods into the crook of his shoulder. "Hey, that's it. We can sit here. That's cool."

"You're sure you're—you're okay?"

"I'm a big dumb brick, remember? I'm a tank."

"Y're not dumb," Logan mumbles, "you f'gired out all—all of this, you're—y're smart."

"Here, here," Virgil echoes, "now, this looks like cuddle-puddle territory to me, am I right, Logan?"

"Mhm."

"You heard him," Roman hears Remus cackle, "everyone on the mattress!"

A massive fluffy thing poofs into existence beneath Roman and Logan and Roman immediately lies them down, chuckling as Janus takes one of the blankets and tucks them in. Logan snuggles a little deeper into his chest and he rests his cheek against the crown of Logan's head.

"We're here for you, okay?" He rubs Logan's back. "Whatever color you're feeling."

"Yeah?"

"I'll out-stubborn you on this too," he threatens playfully just to hear Logan's snuffling laugh in his ear.

"Okay, okay, I believe you."

"Good. Now—hey, Remus! Keep your elbows to yourself!"

"Shit, sorry."

"Language!"

"How come I get language and Emo over there didn't?"

"You snitch!"

Roman just cuddles Logan closer as their eyes drift closed. Out of the corner of his eye he thinks he glimpses something orange floating near the top of the stares and glares until it goes away.

Did Jack really didnt realize Tim was missing for months??? Like i know this is comic book fuckery, but still dude holy shit

alright anon, i believe your ask is referring to my comic book references in the endnotes in my janet fic where i mention that jack doesn't notice tim is gone for like 4 months during no man's land, so i'm going to answer it as if it is. correct me if i'm wrong, tho! and i'll be honest: some of those are meant to humorously poke fun at jack's parenting (or lack thereof).

but to answer your question, yes and no? it kind of boils down to two main points

honestly, in jack's defense, i truly don't think that chuck dixon's intention was to make it seem like jack was totally unaware of and not super concerned about tim being missing for months on end

due to the utter wackiness (and wonderfulness) that is the canon of the no man's land timeline, it definitely comes across that jack is very unconcerned about and/or unaware of tim being gone for a...not insignificant amount of time

under a cut for length

so for starters, we have to take a look at the no man's land official timelime as laid out in the no man's land secret files

our important months here are may and september. in robin #67, tim and dick sneak into no man's land together. based on the official timeline given, this happens in may. robin is then noted to be staying in no man's land and assisting batman through the months of june, july, and august. you'll notice it's not until september that he defeats killer croc and secures the west side.

this is important, because tim doesn't call his jack and let him know that he's in no man's land until robin #72 - after he defeats killer croc.

so now we have a 4 month gap of may to september where tim has been MIA and out of contact from jack and we, uh, haven't heard anything about this disappearance from his dad. no concerns, nothing. which, in all likelihood is because they didn't want to devote any page space to a subplot like this with jack when they had a lot of other stories they needed to tell, but since they don't flash over to jack worrying about tim at all, it kind of reads like jack isn't necessarily super concerned about the fact that tim has been gone for months on end.

and this is strange because, honestly, in canon jack is not the type who would just let his son be missing without addressing it at all, considering tim has gone missing before and jack....didn't take it well. right before cataclysm, tim runs away due to doubting himself as robin and jack not only notices within a couple of days that tim is gone, he goes all out to try and find him.

he contacts the police in robin #48 and robin #49

he even goes to talk to bruce in his desperation to see if bruce knows anything about where his son could have gone (which is actually my favorite bruce & jack interaction)

so we're left with this interesting juxtaposition of how we know jack will react to his son being missing for weeks and how jack is...not really reacting to tim being gone for 4 months at this point.

now we do get a panel that implies that jack is vaguely aware that tim has been gone for a bit. when tim calls him in robin #72 he does say this:

he does ask where tim is and where he's been, but also....

well, i generally disagree with policing people's reactions to stressful situations like this (unlike a lot of true crime enthusiasts), but, uh...idk, to me jack is not really acting like his son has been gone for 4 months at this point. because we've seen how he reacts to tim being gone for multiple weeks, if not months. it looks like this (from robin #52):

you can see here he is palpably relieved and downright exuberant that his son is alive and contacting him after being MIA for so long. he's not angry at all, just filled with relief that his son is okay. compare this to the no man's land one, where he just seems annoyed and angry, like it's just a situation where tim was supposed to be home for dinner or something and he never showed up because he went out with friends and didn't call and let his dad know his plans. like, nothing about the no man's land example reads to me like a father who has been worried sick at his son casually disappearing for 4 months (after recently doing this to boot and jack was shown to be absolutely sick with concern over it all!) without contacting him at all, considering we do know how jack reacts to this very situation. like, almost everything about those two panels are framed differently, even though it's basically the same situation. and of course, after jack finds out that tim is in no man's land, he immediately reacts like he did prior to cataclysm: with immense concern for tim's safety and a goal to find him and get him home. he calls the media and does everything in his power to get tim out safely! so as readers, we're left wondering about how this gap was handled since we didn't hear from jack at all during that time and we've got a couple of options, actually:

most likely, jack was very concerned offscreen over the four months actually, but at the same time he was also very annoyed because didn't they just go through this? he's very upset that tim just keeps running off like this. he probably reported it to the police and we just didn't see it because chuck dixon didn't want to rehash the tim is missing story with jack again or devote limited page space to how jack is reacting to his son being missing.

more hilariously, jack didn't really notice tim was gone for as long as he was. teenagers are slippery, okay? jack is doing his best, but it's really hard keeping track of your fifteen year old when you're jack drake. he just assumed that tim was having a busy summer with his friends and, you know, jack was busy too, working and doing stuff with dana and it's not until dana casually mentions around the end of august, hey, i notice tim hasn't been around recently, shouldn't he be starting school in a few days? and jack's like, huh, that's weird, where is that kid, i expect him home for dinner, i guess i haven't seen him in a few days, now i'm starting to get worried and then his kid calls and is like, hey i'm actually in no man's land.

and honestly, i don't think this whole 4 month thing is something chuck put a lot of thought into, or he definitely backtracked on how unreasonable it was to have tim be gone for so long and never show jack being concerned about it prior to tim calling him considering in robin #74, he has tim say this:

where tim is like "oh, he's mad because i disappeared for a month", which i think is trying to make it better in that maybe tim wasn't gone as long as the timeline would suggest, and jack clearly spent a couple of weeks with his media circus between when he finds out tim is in no man's land and when tim is able to get rescued from no man's land which would give us the rough month tim claims to be missing for, so the implication is that tim maybe didn't actually go missing for 4 months?

but this also directly contradicts the official timeline of events, and actually gives us an even more hilarious implication: you see, jack finds out in september that tim is missing and the issue that tim gets rescued at is meant to be read before catwoman #75, which is catwoman en route to to NML, which our timeline places in october...which is about a month from september. so there we have a month that tim is gone that jack is aware of, so to jack, tim went missing for a month in no man's land.

but for that to work, jack has to be unaware that tim was actually also missing for the four months prior. so there it is! jack being seemingly completely unaware that his son is MIA for four months. in large part, due to the utter ridiculousness of the no man's land timeline rather than any actual intent on the writers' part to do so.

801,972!!! (fun fact i was just below 800k the first time i got tagged in this game so i was like "oh well i'm posting a new chapter tomorrow...i'll do this game after that so i can pass that milestone!" and then i posted the chapter but it took me close to a week to do this ahaha)

mostly just ml. i have a few spop fics too but i don't really write for that fandom anymore. or at least not right now.

Gah. okay. I'm going to answer this honestly but to do that I first need to explain that my most kudoed fic is on anon because I'm annoyed it's my most kudoed fic aksjfbksdb. Like. It's only so popular because there's a bit of lila salt? and really the fic isn't about that but i don't really write that kind of thing anymore and i don't want ppl coming to my profile and sorting by kudos and seeing that first. Uh...well, most of my fics have happy or at least hopeful endings. I don't think I can narrow this down to just a few haha.

I don't think I've ever gotten hate? Definitely some comments that aren't super nice but nothing too bad. (now i've probably gone and jinxed it 😂)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

um. a little tiny bit but not enough to have a particular kind LOL. i've only posted it once so far. but i also have Entangled, which will have smut in the next chapter--and that's angsty smut. which i suppose would be my brand of smut if i ever write any more

i haven't! i entertained the idea of an ml/spop crossover a couple years ago but i don't have any interest in it anymore. oh and i ALSO had an idea for a marigami spyxfamily crossover. but i don't know if i'll ever get around to that

to write for, definitely the love square. and then catradora is so special to me because it got me back into writing and also i started IDing as a lesbian in part because i binged spop.

aside from that i can't really decide because like. there are so many shows i've seen and books i've read and ships i've loved for so many different reasons asdfbk. and then i have OC ships that only live in my head but that i love to play with sometimes before i fall asleep at night. so please don't make me choose!!

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

uh. i would say none of them? because it's only when i completely lose interest in a fic that i lose the belief i'll finish it. and that's only happened with maybe two of my wips i can think of?

16. What are your writing strengths?

Depicting emotions! And using the setting to do that by establishing the mood/tone/etc...

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

i guess like...self-doubt? not that i'm awful with it. in general i think i'm pretty good that way. but it's my biggest barrier to writing when i have periods where i get in my head about my writing, and it can make me overthink and not know if i LIKE my writing. and i think my writing is at its best when i'm having fun with it (which is probably true of most ppl), so...

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i think it makes sense when the characters are actually speaking that language for a short time but aren't speaking it for most of the fic? like i have one ml AU set in new york so they're speaking english for most of it and i used french for the first couple lines that were french (and weaved the translations into the narrative). so that's the only time i do that personally--aside for maybe one word lines like bonjour--but as a reader it doesn't usually bother me when i see it used other ways

19. First fandom you wrote for?

ahaha the Vampire Academy book series. and NO you won't find those fics anywhere, even though they are still out there somewhere

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

currently Say Something. and i very much wish i could finish writing it, but it'll happen when it happens!

What's you opinion on the colby and mlp drama? I see some fans are mad at him for "breaking her heart", cause the poor girl was waiting around for 8 years in the hopes of him finally making her his girlfriend and he has the audacity to date another girl. For all we know they're never been in a committed relationship.Her fans should be encouraging her to finally getting over him and move on.

i've gotten an ask about this before, a week or so back. i was against commenting on it just bc i don't want to give mlp the time of day. but as things have slowly played out, via her and her fans… i don't really feel the need to stay silent on it.

there's a lot i'm probably gonna say, so this will most likely be a very long post lol

and to those of you that hate-read the shit i post - especially since you like mlp so much - i ask you kindly to read completely thru. i know that's a lot, but please consider doing it, especially before you send in an ask calling me a "dick rider" for colby just bc i don't immediately say he's a slut and a douchebag for breaking her heart :)

i'm gonna give the briefest of rundowns for those that don't know.

first off, if you want to know how i feel about mlp, here is an ask i answered a while ago detailing most (if not all) of the shit she has done over the years.

secondly tbh, i never understood her relationship with colby. sure, they were always weirdly flirty, seemingly in a will-they-won't-they type of thing. but her livestreams have painted an ENTIRELY different picture. one that paints her as a bit…. unhinged, imo. he doesn't look great either, but i'll get into it.

now, what has been happening recently: i pop in occasionally to her streams but for the most part i steer clear bc she annoys me too much. i have friends that tell me everything, plus you guys. but i have witnessed some stuff with my own two eyes. when she first started streaming, she was NONSTOP talking about colby. answered any and all questions about him, how they were super close, talked about adventure buddies, said all the good poems in her book are about him, even saying she was gonna have him on at some point soon. and she was gonna have him in videos soon as well.

as you have pointed out, anon, her fans are mad that he "broke her heart" but how that became "reality", so to speak, stems from this: her sister asked her what she was doing for nye, and mlp said she had no plans bc "no one asked her yet" to do anything. fast forward to after colby's bday, aka around the time the pics of him and m leaked, and suddenly mlp is not streaming.

the stream she did a couple days after colby's bday is a new level of crazy i haven't seen from her bc she just aired it ALL out. and even if she didn't do that, her fans with their big ass mouths on twitter, insta, and tiktok, have been doing it for her.

she explained to her chat that she just went thru a breakup, basically. that it was an eight/nine year long situationship that was on and off again…. interestingly, her and colby have been friends since 2015. which would be…. eight/nine years.

very clearly, she is talking about colby, without saying his name.

now, there was someone in chat that said something about situationships, someone else asked what a situationship is, and the person replied with "a sexual relationship but with no commitment" or something vaguely like that. mlp immediately said "oh that's not what i had."

………so, you're telling me that whatever went on between the two of them….. wasn't sexual…. at all??? maybe i don't understand what a situationship is then, bc i was under the impression that the SEX PART was kinda the whole point. otherwise…. you just kinda have a friendship. an emotional situationship is just not a thing lol

even tho she kept telling her chat "i can't talk about this", she just kept going. she said that la changes ppl, that she thought they were on the same page for years and then all of sudden things took a turn. she thought she knew him well bc she was so close to him for so long. she can't talk about it publicly bc it's "too obvious" and she has to stay offline bc it's all on social media (which really just… seals the deal that it's about colby lol). she said she cried in his face and he said nothing. she also, verbatim, said "it's like one week you're their everything and then the next they want to go party and be with crazy girls and i'm not crazy" which…. cmon girl. you might as well have said m's name atp.

now, with all of this out of the way… how do i personally feel about this, since my opinion is so valid lol jk

for years, mlp has made it her mission to plant the seeds thru out the fandom that her and colby were secretly dating behind the scenes. that they had something going on but "oh guys, i can't talk about it ;)", playing coy and never outright shutting down the rumors. i have literal ss from her fan accounts saying "you guys don't know the truth. of course colby would never tell the full story" and shit like that. these are fans that fully were in GROUP CHATS with her for years, listening to her every word. so it's very clear to me she was telling them directly what was going on.

or at least the good parts - that her and colby were a thing.

but colby CONSISTENTLY has said time and time again that he is single, that he is not looking for a gf, that he hasn't had one since 2016, that he hasn't met someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with. he has said all of that to us for YEARS. now, unless bts he was saying to mlp "oh baby, you know i'm just lying to the fans" that is the ONLY WAY he would be completely in the wrong here. regardless, colby has been seen publicly with girls so. many. times. mlp has been called out for liking edits making fun of said girls! she's also been rumored to be his guard dog, to loom over him, that he needs to "keep his bitch on a lease" - and the ppl who said this were the girls that were fucking with him. so she isn't in the dark that he is with other ppl.

and again, a situationship is NONCOMMITTAL. that means they aren't dedicated to each other. she herself has been with other guys, she admitted that. so why is it colby is the asshole here?

her fans are claiming that he flaked on her, that he chose m over her….. babes, that's not how this works. first off, again - noncommittal. these are the terms and conditions they BOTH agreed to. they have been playing this cat and mouse game since like 2016. nothing about their relationship has changed since then, let's be honest here. secondly, she literally said out loud "no one has asked me" aka COLBY DIDN'T MAKE PLANS WITH HER. so, he can't flake on someone he didn't make plans with. and this is no shade to mlp - but she doesn't drink, she doesn't party. colby for years has always been a partier. what exactly was he supposed to do with her on nye???? i'm not saying that to be mean. i say this as someone who is a wallflower, a stick in the mud, a prude, a straight-edge, ect ect. i haven't partied since i was in my early 20s. i get the lifestyle she has. i'm just saying realistically, of course he's not gonna want to hang out with her on one of the biggest nights to party.

now, all of this is not to say that she is the only one that did wrong in this situationship. colby should have said something long before now. but he liked that she emotionally supported him, he liked he could rely on her for his emotional needs to be fulfilled. he should have realized how deeply into him she was. he should have cut the chord long before things got to what they are today. but to bring it back to mlp, since this is about her mostly - she is 30. THIRTY. she has been playing this game since her early 20s. she knew what she signed up for. they haven't even had sex. with all that deep emotional bond shit they had going on - they never got intimate in that way. and clearly, she never had a problem with it. until now.

i think for the entirety of their relationship, mlp knew at the drop of a hat colby would come running to her - and vice versa. i think this is the ONE TIME he chose someone else over her. that, tied with the fact that she was making all these promises of him being in her content - videos, her documentary, streams - she NEEDED colby to say yes to all of this. and maybe he said yes, but then changed his mind. maybe he said he was too busy, and when she found out what he was busy with (hanging out with m on nye), it finally clicked that he was not into her like she was into him. even tho as a fan that has been obvious for years now.

and while i don't like mlp, i don't wish her harm. i don't wish her to be heart broken or sad. i know exactly what she is going thru. all of my dating experience has been unrequited love. i get it. trust me. however, you can't play innocent and naive. you knew what colby was doing all this time. and sure, he's a dick for not stopping this sooner. but you clearly knew what was up - YOU COULD HAVE LEFT. you had years, eight years in fact, to leave at any point. but you accepted what you could get, and you milked it for all it was worth. not to mention, but how did you expect him to want to be with you when you are in gcs with his minor fans talking about him constantly??? that man likes to keep things private, and you were basically shouting it from the rooftops.

not only that, but you played the fun game of shitting on any girl he was friends with or hooking up with. and only apologized when you got called out for it. and then tried to play the whole "i'm all for women supporting women" bs. let's be real honest, cards on the table - you only support women when you deem them as nonthreatening. the moment a woman is competition to you, especially in regards to getting attention from colby, you shit on them. bc you're scared. you're scared he will choose them over you.

also this doesn't even take into the fact that why would you want him to date you at this point when he has made it clear he doesn't like you like that? you want him to lie and pretend to be into you?

all of this being said, while i do have some sympathy for her, i also really don't. and the reason for it is bc she LIES. she egregiously lies, and has done it multiple times in her live streams (and obviously for years now).

here's two main ones, off the top of my head: one, she said she doesn't who corey scherer is…… besides the fact that apparently she has been in colby's life since basically corey was there, i find it hard to believe she doesn't know who he is. one reason is bc she used to go over to the old trap house. she 100% met him. and you know why i know this? reason number two, SHE IS IN THE BACKGROUND OF ONE OF COREY'S VIDEOS. she is there, sitting next colby. watching corey do something goofy for his vlog. why she would lie about this, idk.

two, and this is a bit of a weird one, she said she doesn't like zoos. she said bc she's vegan, zoos make her upset and cry and that she wants animals to be free or whatever. okay, hey, that's valid. and you might be like "how is this a lie?" well, back in september, when snc were in hot topic. she went with colby to said store. you know what they did after that (maybe even before)? THEY WENT TO A ZOO. i got the video clips of her giggling with colby over a capybara. the last time she seemingly hung out with him publicly was THEM GOING TO A ZOO. when she answered this question on stream, i was confused. bc she literally was just at a zoo with colby. so why lie??

she doesn't even benefit from lying about this shit. so what is the point?

and the reason why a lot of this deeply pisses me off is bc of how two faced these fans of hers (and colby's) are. in chat, she will have ppl kissing her ass, saying colby is a shitty guy. he's emo trash, he's a douche, they want beat the shit out of him from breaking her heart. he's a slut, and they even trash m. all that. but then, weirdly, on twitter and on xplrclub these same exact fans are begging, PLEADING, for colby to give them a crumb of attention. making edits of him, buying the merch, tagging him relentlessly. so… which is it? is he a dickhead, or is he this swell guy you want to have say your name in chat? pick a fucking lane.

the people in your ask box giving their reasons for not liking ronance is like. yes, you do you, but they are literally proving your point because what is it about a random f/f ship existing that makes people wanna argue against it ??? but yeah the anti ronance tag is truly a wild place.

This response is quite long, hence the read more! I kinda got off track and it goes into a discussion of canon vs headcanon and speaks a bit about Byler too.

If I were to be generous to Ronance antis, I think a lot of people are frustrated that there is a new canon bisexual character who's been introduced to the show but a lot of the fandom are ignoring her for a headcanon. And in general, members of this fandom and Ronance shippers are quite harsh against Rovickie and I don't think they'd be as harsh if it was an m/f pairing. Because it's the only canon gay pairing so far (I know it hasn't happened yet but it clearly will), people are expecting it to be this perfect romance like Jopper or Lumax but in eight minutes of screen time which is just impossible.

However, I think turning this defensiveness of people who ship Ronance is a bit unfair. So far, Vickie is just not an established character; she's barely had any screen time and she exists only to be Robin's girlfriend. At the moment, it feels a bit like pandering/fan service (although a lot of people make that criticism in bad faith because they view queer relationships as inherently woke or political which is bullshit). I can see the potential in the pairing and I guarantee I'll love them by the end of S5, but I've just not seen them interact as much. I am allowed to think that without it being problematic; just because a queer ship is canon representation doesn't mean I have to like it.

I also think it's quite obvious a lot of people in this fandom haven't had any fandom experiences before. A very frequent response I get to shipping Ronance that I don't respond to (because I can't be bothered to reply every time) is that Nancy canonically likes Jonathan and that Robin canonically likes Vickie. Or that there's no proof that Nancy's gay.

The thing is, I'm not shipping Ronance because I think they're going to canonically get together, I ship them because I like their dynamic both hypothetically and in many on screen interactions they had. I just prefer rivals to lovers than two very similar girls (I know talking a lot doesn't make them the same person but it's all we've really seen of Vickie so far) getting together. When I ship a ship, it's not because it's the most canon, it's because it's the best dynamic.

I see this response to people who ship pairings like Will and Lucas where people will get annoyed because they act like Will hypothetically liking someone other than Mike is erasure which is so odd because I doubt anyone shipping that pairing actually thinks it will be canon, they just think it would be an interesting pairing to explore.

Or how when people try to convince you to ship Byler, they try to convince you why it'll be canon and not why it'll be good (I'm not talking about responding to Byler antis who tell you that it won't happen or talking to fellow Byler shippers, Byler proof and analysis is very valuable). This also applies in reverse when an anon tried to prove that Byler won't be canon...in response to me saying I like friends to lovers.

TL;DR: I'm not gonna ship Rovickie over Ronance just because it's the canon queer relationship. I ship based on whatever pairing is the most interesting to me instead of which one is the most attainable. I understand that lots of people like it and I'm cool with that, but sending me long asks explaining that Rovickie/Jancy are canon isn't going to change my mind on Ronance.

Also a lot of Ronance antis are Nancy antis and that's a whole thing that I've responded to before (check my post index under the Ronance section and go to Ronance and boy drama or the follow up or just click the words there).

Levi forced himself to remain calm and continue to read the paper, he was fuming inside but wanted the silence to make Evelyn worry. She stood there with her hands clasped, staring at the carpet as if everything was good and normal. It was insult that she dared to pretend everything was fine after she childishly tried to sneak out over the top of the gate. Lucky for him she didn't take into account him coming home early and catching her half stuck over the wall, her skirt hiked up for all to see.

Evelyn doesn't say anything in her defence, which is how it should be, she had no defence. This was a complete slap in the face to him, if anyone else had seen his reputation would be shot to bits. How could he call himself a man if he couldn't even control his wife?

"You know you deserve to be punished, don't you."

Now this time her silence annoyed him. He stood and in a swift motion backhanded her across the face, making a small cry escape her lips.

"Answer me woman!" He grabbed her jaw and made her look at him, her eyes welled quickly with painful tears.

"Yes Levi-" Her voice was quiet and scared, her independent and confident attitude had been beaten out of her.

Levi let her go and sat back down, as if weighing his options. A regular beating would be something she just bared with a brave face, it wouldn't teach her anything. Her pride is what needed to be broken.

"Maybe your rebellious streak is linked to stress. The pressure of conceiving as quickly as possible must be a lot and could be a cause for why you haven't done it yet." He picks up his paper again, maybe now he can focus. "You're not deserving of my dick but I know as a woman you're too needy to think about anything other than getting off, so in my great mercy you can ride my boot."

Evelyn knew he'd make good on his threat, so she sat as she was told. His boot was hard and uncomfortable, but at least it was better than him violently pushing her down and violating her again.

"Move your hips like the needy bitch you are." He didn't look at her, seemingly fixated on what he was reading, but it was a command.

She had to hold onto his knee to avoid falling off, slowly she rubbed her hips against the point of his boot. It was degrading and humiliating but at least she could control the pace herself, and the friction on her clit was better than him pinching it to get her to shut up.

Fandom discussions that happen through the anon ask box of a third user who kindly lets us share our opinions on her personal blog obviously risk becoming flat and all that, but I'm kind of stuck on that bi4bi M/F ask because, like... what is the point of critiquing fans for their dumb ship wars and then you just insert yourself in said ship wars like that?

There is something to be said about how fandom treats cishet women (by acting like they're the only demographic present, by refusing to acknowledge their existence, by treating cishet women like the the devil, and also by using the "cishet woman" label as a way of silencing any queer person who disagree with one's opinion, which in itself has a number of other implications), but, like (and maybe this feels a bit personal for me because I've seen it happen one too many times) queer people—especially bisexuals—often "insist" that their M/F ships are bi4bi bc they're tired of bisexuality getting erased, especially when online fandom, like most other online (and offline) spaces, loves to both imply and directly state that bisexual people in M/F relationships aren't queer, or not queer enough, with the opposite also happening in F/F and M/M ships, where a character suddenly turns monosexual, or where bisexuality is not even contemplated.

It feels pretty naive to not take into consideration how that "insistence" often comes from a place of hurt, and not from the implication that being straight is Bad And Wrong™.

And obviously, whatever, everyone can ship whatever they want. But I have to question how many queer people—who aren't, like, antis or whatever—just go up to other fandomgoers and tell them that they're being queerphobic, really, because X ships should be bi4bi. Because there is a difference between someone saying that X and Y are bi, actually, in their own profile (or even lamenting the lack of bi4bi ships) vs. them directly going under a fanfic or other people's post to accuse them of being too straight or whatever.

It can still be annoying, mind you. Sometimes there are implications in how people explain themselves and share what they'd like to see more of in fanworks. I know for sure that some of the "Why don't we never see X" post can be annoying as fuck. Also, fans do often weaponize their (even if real, tangible) pain as a way to win arguments and demonize the other side—we see this happen with antis all the time. But it kinda makes me laugh when people try to critique this by flattening the discussion like this.

Obviously, discourse is annoying and wanting to be as far as possible from it is 100% understandable. And sometimes people just want to complain, which is also fair. But I feel like generalized complaints like this, posted on what is basically a public forum, often just fuels the discourse instead of shutting it off.

TBH, the main time I see bi4bi come up is when I post stats about het on FFN or something, and people come out of the woodwork to remind everyone that just because something is f/m, that doesn't necessarily mean it's het. (I promise you that 99.99999999% of the stuff I surveyed on FFN is the hettiest het to ever het.)

I haven't seen any policing of other people shipping the same m/f ship for not making it bi4bi. It might be out there, but it's not something I run into.

I have seen plenty of complaints about canons that end in m/f with a bi character not being queer enough. The funniest one I ever saw was about Stage Beauty.

I mean... it does end in the leads getting together... But...

(This is that historical movie where he's an actor playing women's roles, then the law changes, and men can only play men and women are allowed to be actresses. It upends his whole life and loses him his boyfriend. His assistant who's obsessed with him in kind of a "Do I want them or do I want to be them?" way takes over his old signature role of Desdemona. He's bitterly jealous, of course. Then they invent naturalistic acting in the space of a month because this movie is very historically accurate. Anyway, it would be pretty queer just for all the gender bullshit that's going on in the main f/m ship even if he weren't visibly also interested in men.)

IDK, I've found annoying people on both sides of this: letting you know f/m can be bi4bi when nobody asked and insisting things are Not Queer just because the endgame ship is f/m.

11. Faceclaim for the role of Ginny:

This'll be disappointing but I don't really picture a particular person for Ginny; she has a face and disposition in my head that I haven't seen and don't have the skills to artistically render. Closest would probably be, you guessed it, Luca Hollestelle. I think there's a reason she's so widely accepted as Ginny's face claim.

20. Scars:

Most of Ginny's physical scars come from growing up with six older brothers. I've mentioned the one above her belly-button from Ron's wooden sword in this fic, and I think there might be several other little ones, a few of which become bittersweet reminders of Fred (he knocked her down two flights of stairs with a flying trunk, ffs). Her first time falling off Charlie's broomstick earned her a pretty banged-up knee, too; she was so eager to climb back on that her mum didn't get around to healing it until it had scarred over. You can still see a few of those jagged lines, if you know where to look.

Ginny's lucky to not have many lasting scars from the war. She broke an ankle in the Department of Mysteries, but only needed a bit of Skele-Grow. And while she was pretty battered and bruised after the Battle of Hogwarts, most of that was temporary, too.

The big one I'll mention, I guess, is less of a surface scar and more a minor disfigurement as the result of an injury, which again is described in this fic and alluded to in Chasing. For me, it was important to represent the Carrows' physical violence that Neville references, in addition to spells and curses that can sometimes be hard to relate to as a reader, particularly at a point in the series when the Unforgivables are thrown around so callously. Magic isn't the only thing that hurts, and magic can't fix everything.

26. What would Ginny do if stuck in an elevator with Lily Potter?

Not sure what circumstances have led to this situation, but we're rolling with it...

First thing's first, Ginny's trying everything she can think of to get the lift moving again. She's not scared so much as annoyed; she stopped by the Ministry on her way to meet a friend for coffee and now she's running late, trapped between two sets of metal grills and surrounded by anti-Apparition wards.

I'm imagining Lily is some sort of spectral presence here, a la the Resurrection Stone (my toxic trait is my inability to synthesize anything AU). Still, it doesn't take Ginny long to realize who she is. Thoughts of later plans vanish, and she quits trying to transfigure the lift's ceiling into a trapdoor as she recognizes Harry's eyes.

And they talk.

Ginny asks questions, of course. The first ones that come to mind, because naturally she draws a blank about anything she's ever wondered up till now. No one expects to be caught in an elevator with their fiancé's dead mother. Do you know who I am? Do you get to watch over Harry, or something? Did you always know he'd be okay, or were you still worried about the prophecy? He still doesn't talk much about his parents. Now's her chance.

The harder part comes with Lily's questions. Is her son happy? Overall, yeah, I think. Does he take enough time for himself? Er... sort of. Does he make you happy? Do you two want kids?

They talk a bit about Teddy (Remus sends his gratitude), and then Ginny stares at her boots as Lily thanks her and bestows her resounding approval, which feels a bit odd coming from someone nearly Ginny's own age.

She promises to pass on Lily's apology for not being there, at the wedding. As if that day will really even matter, as if there haven't already been a million birthdays and holidays and Sunday afternoons Ginny would rather him have with them instead.

Magical Maintenance doesn't take too long to arrive on the scene, and by the time the lift is clattering back to the atrium Lily's gone and Ginny's wondering if she's gone funny in the head. She spends the rest of the afternoon walking along the river, bypassing the coffeeshop where she's due and wondering how she'll talk to him about it, whether he'll even believe her.

She'll regret it later, not asking about Severus or James.
