Crowdsourcing a question
Okay totally personal post here because, now that search engines suck, my research is failing me. So I'm crowdsourcing my question about the residential care work industry!
Hoping at least some of my followers have experience in/with the industry and some intel on this:
Actual question: How common is it for jobs in residential care work (residential centers, btw, not home care) to actually have two people on the night shift? vs. just saying they always have two people on the night shift in interviews and their official policies, and actually it's not true?
Because my current job was, it turns out, apparently totally lying about "you'll never be on shift alone with clients" at orientation (when it comes to the night shift, anyway). Which, holy fucking safety issues, Batman!
Suffice to say this was a very fun thing to find out like three days before my first regular shift
So, I'm thinking realllll hard about switching companies, and I'm trying to figure out if I could expect to actually have a coworker at a different company, or if it's like an open secret in the field that actually, basically all the night shifts end up being solo shifts, because the industry is so chronically understaffed or w/e

why is it always my shifts where the second counselor doesn’t come in and I have to do two jobs I’m not being paid enough for, and also I’m left alone in a facility I’m not supposed to be legally left alone in

AITA for snapping at a coworker?
so i (30sX) have grown to dislike my coworker, Ham (20sM). He's been absent at least three days out of every week (sometimes more) for about half a year - which is fine, they were doctors appointments, but it leaves me doing all of his work with no help.
We just got a new boss, Cheese (50sM), and he's great! Cheese has been fixing a lot of problems in the company. He's been trying to get Ham to come into the office more often and be a bit more reliable. Recently, the other person on our team, Tomato (30sF) was out of office on emergency, and it was a week that Ham was absent without warning. Cheese and I had to fucking book it to get a bunch of work done for our clients, and it stressed me out so much that I had a bad medical reaction.
When Ham got back, he said that he was gone because of a family emergency. Which, again, is fine! But it was the same family emergency I had earlier in the year, and it didn't take me a week to resolve. And I get that it takes people different amounts of time to deal with certain issues, but Ham did not apologize and came in on a Saturday to "do work" (he actually undid a bunch of my work without telling anyone...), and when he got back he kept trying to fish for validation.
In the nicest way I could, I told him to please stop talking to me about the incident. I explained that I was angry, but I knew it wasn't his fault, but I also didn't want to blow up at him. Ham immediately snipped back with a comment like "I'm mad too, because of my family emergency" and I snapped at him.
I reminded him of the time I had the same emergency, and how I didn't expect him to get over it as quickly as I did, but that it hurt that he left me out on a lurch because of it. I specifically didn't take more time off so that I could come back into work to support him.
I didn't think I was being mean, but the next day he texted me saying that I had hurt him irreparably with what I said.
However... I didn't say anything back to him, because Cheese fired him while I was out of office. Cheese has implied that he was lying about some of his doctor's appointments and his family emergency. Tomato had a more severe issue than Ham did, and was back to work on Monday (even though I think she should have taken the week off)
I don't feel comfortable judging whether or not he was actually lying about his problems, but was I really as much of an asshole when I snapped as Ham implied I was?
What are these acronyms?

What I think the demigods would major as and why
these are personal head canons dont take them too seriously :)
Percy: Education. I know that we usually hc as a Marin biology kinda guy but I genuinely think that he wouldn't be too fond of the workload but instead want to work towards being a teacher and being the kind of teacher he needed as a kid, y'know? Alternatively, I can see him being into something like baking and pastry art to take over Sally's shop.
Annabeth: Architecture. I really don't think I need to explain this one to y'all but yeah she's an architecture girly. But if we want to branch out I can also see her studying law and working in the area of Child Protection.
Leo: Astrophysics. I have this head canon of him panicking because of the sheer amount of choices that he's presented with and choosing the first one of the alphabetical list. Lucky for him, he's insanely good at it AND it'll pay well in the future. He minors in mechanical engineering and realises that although he has all the practical knowledge because of his father, his theoretical knowledge isn't as strong lol.
Piper: Food Science. I'm trying to be unique here because yeah, she could do environmental studies but I also think it would be super cool to see her learning about food and developing new vegetarian versions of food because it's something she's visibly passionate about in the books.
Nico: I can see him getting a history / philosophy related degree for his bachelors just for him to get a  doctor of philosophy (Ph. D.) in mythology or folklore. His hyperfixation runs deep and he sure as hell is going to fuel it as much as he can.
Jason: Doesn't go to college!! Is severely burnt out <3. No but like idk man I think he'd legitimately want to take it chill if that makes sense? Maybe he'd do a business major just so that he can get a job somewhere but I can't think of somewhere he'd fit in nicely. Jason does have a lot of part time jobs though!!
Frank: Nurse! Nursing school! Despite being the son of Mars I can see him being in the medical field because he wants to help people in need. It's a long journey with lots of ups and downs but finally getting his degree makes it all worth it.
Hazel: Geology because rocks. And also women in STEM!! This one directly correlates to her powers in the books as well as both of her parents! On the other hand, I can see definitely see Hazel studying in the field of archeology with the goal of being an archeologist and then eventually a museum curator :)
Reyna: Psychology!! Listen, I know this seems out of the blue but Reyna gives me the right vibes. Everyone is skeptical at first because they don't think she'd fit the mold of a clinical psychologist but that's okay because Reyna wants to further herself in research! She studies Neuropsychology and becomes a prominent researcher in her field! Please tell me you see the vision.
Will: From what I can see in the books, Emergency Medical Services degree seems like the right field for him. He's already basically a paramedic at Camp Half Blood so he knows it's naturally the right step for him. On the other hand, for something a little different - he seems like the kind of guy who might be interested in studying cinematography or art history maybe.
Travis: He studies Economics because he's so fucking convinced that he can become the next Elon Musk if he studies this. Alternatively, he studies music because he wants to travel the world and like sing with the wind and all that shit.
Connor: he's a communications major because he's a really popular youtube and technically doesn't really need to go to college but oh well he can study communications.
Drew: She goes to cosmetology school as the first step to start her own makeup and skincare empire. She's super nice to all of her clients and helps out all of the other students when they're having trouble with something! I will not tolerate any Drew slander let my girl breathe.
Pollux: Chemical Engineering. He got influenced by watching breaking bad and somehow landed himself a degree in chemical engineering. He doesn't know how he survived that degree but it doesn't matter because he decides to not give a fuck and open a coffee shop that becomes really popular because all the drinks are to die for.
Thalia: I don't really know the right terminology but she has an art related degree / tattoo apprentice so that she can work as a tattoo artist!! It fits with the thalis vision and also she is the eldest daughter who loses it lowkey so she doesn't follow your usual education route. Tattoo artist Thalia for the win!!

Hi again! I just wanted to give another update on the status of commissions because I don't like keeping my clients in the dark. Long story short, everything's the same as my last post! I'm not going to be reopening again until I'm completely finished with my current queue, no exceptions.
At the start of the year I speculated I would be done by the end of April, which is not the case. I'm famously bad with time and also April tends to be the point of the year where life just gets incredibly chaotic. This year was no exception.
I recently got a (good and helpful!) medical diagnosis that will actually make work easier once I've adjusted to the treatment I'm receiving. It's already helping and I'm excited for the future. However right after that a family health emergency AND a pet health emergency happened back to back and I've frankly been too out of sorts to even touch my tablet. I'm fine and everyone else is fine (knock on wood it stays that way), it's just put a delay on my already quite delayed queue.
I deeply apologize again that the wait has gotten this long and thank you guys for being so patient. Even with the unexpected and very large delay I've not had a single person show anything but extreme kindness and lenience for me and I really appreciate it. If I'm quiet on social media please know I'm not just running off and ignoring anyone, I'm actually trying to hunker down and bang out the work I owe. I'm jumping around queue but more or less finishing the full and half bodies from last year and then hopping on finishing the sketches from this year. Hope to share some of the art I'm getting to do for you guys soon <3

WELT YANG AS YOUR THERAPIST
Please, be careful. Age difference, daddy issues. Translate or reblog is alright, but remember, that I may ask you to delete if I would not alright with your blog. Thank you. The place I will most of all.
Tumblr media
How many clients does he have?
ㅤ Welt is popular in the private clinic as one of the best therapists that can be recommended. He has been in practice for over fifteen years, making him a one-stop pill for ailments, and all people who have come to see him at least once have stayed for several more appointments afterwards. The main problem was the price of the session. Not everyone could afford the expensive pleasure of brain therapy, but Welt , the damn empath, couldn't control the sincere sympathy inside him, and it turned out the same way every time: he made discounts or helped his clients outside of working hours, which greatly burdened the man and turned him into a walking dead man.
ㅤ He has a problem with sleep deprivation. It's a good thing that Welt learns to separate work and non-work time by drawing a clear and obvious line; it often takes him a long time to get into the "I'm not laboring" state.
ㅤ How quickly will you realize that this therapist is right for you?
ㅤ If your type is grown men who wear glasses and look extremely stern, empathic, and multi-faceted, then immediately. Perhaps simply because you won't have a particularly big choice - you'll find yourself in an emotionally tight space with a man who smells like vanilla and bitter coffee beans. Mr. Yang keeps eye contact at all times, sometimes oblivious to the fact that people might be uncomfortable with it, and there's a real understanding shining at the bottom of his glossy eyes. It's probably the reason people stay with him and sometimes even want to get an extracurricular contact, but Welt very rarely shares phone numbers. He wants to dedicate his life to people, but he can't leave himself out. Psychotherapists also have the right to get sick and prescribe medication for themselves, but it's not to say that Welt does it often - it's hard to figure out how to self-medicate. Plus, he's too tired, so he mostly takes sedatives or brain-activating substances when he's tired.
ㅤ Welt Yang is very good at hearing people's demands and distinguishing between urges. He prioritizes correctly, though he may pretend to follow a person's need to get rid of this or that sore first. In a sense, he enlightens illusions, making them believable by actually attending to more important things and prioritizing competently.
ㅤ Of course, like any therapist, your tolerance may not accrue to each other in tandem, and Mr. Yang may even come across as "stuffy" and "arrogant," in which case the most beneficial option for both of you is to simply walk away.
ㅤ Who will he become to you first - a friend or an object of affection?
At once a creature between the thin two edges. What is he to you? Unknown, but warm and close, surprising. Mr. Yang is the only man who shows care, and the emergence of tender feelings would not surprise him. This happens in practice quite often, and no matter how careful a man is, there are still unpleasant lapses in the course of which one has to balance his work and the health of a client or client in love.
ㅤ Welt is attentive and always beautiful. His delicate hands take notes, focusing on the voice of the person he's talking to - you - time after time. All the beautiful things he does while paying attention to you sink into your very heart. No one has ever treated you with such sensitivity and care, and it makes your heart flutter. Wrong feelings, the nastiest - you were well aware that they had no place, so you kept the fire of unfair attention craving burning in the walls of the office, in the chair you were sitting in. You tried to forget about them for a month, separating them from the next meeting, but it didn't work well. Though sometimes you could even forget that Mr. Yang was waiting for you.
ㅤ "You seem troubled," Welt's address was friendly as usual, "I can help.
ㅤ "You can," you reply wistfully, "but you can't.
ㅤ Yes, that's right. All it takes to quiet a frantically pounding heart is a hug from Mr. Yang, which is unacceptable given that it's a breach of etiquette and the discipline of keeping one's distance. Just one hug will heal your soul and put a nasty hope in your mouth that you'll get a hug again, and then again, and maybe you'll come to Mr. Yang to sleep in his arms, because that was the best medicine he had to offer.
ㅤ The words you spoke already faintly hinted to Welt that something already familiar and quite familiar was happening. Something that Welt wanted less than anything else in the world, and couldn't put it forward as a cure. So the man took a deep breath and admitted to himself: this was a curse that God himself had sent him.
ㅤ How will Welt really feel about you?
ㅤ There's no hiding that disdain and compassion. He'd like to work with happy people, but there's nothing better than watching people walk away from him with a sincere grateful smile. He doesn't count money, he doesn't think about keeping more people for a high income, never no. Seeing your crush means initially noticing the modesty, the avoidance of a direct look, the desire to hear more from himself than stories about himself. The mechanics of the process are perfectly familiar to Mr. Yang, and frankly, he doesn't understand at what point he's doing something wrong. Why do young girls feel almost physical excitement watching his hands, his gait? Maybe he should change his strict clothes for something more primitive and unattractive? But then it would look… tasteless.
ㅤ Welt feels a heaviness in his stomach every time he sees you, as if a heavy stone has been thrown to the bottom of his stomach, pressing him back against the chair. He tries to move less, but sighs more often, and a new feeling slides into his eyes that you haven't yet been able to recognize. Mr. Yang doesn't really feel reciprocated for you, and that would be foolish if it weren't true. Velt has met all sorts of different and unique people in his extensive career experience, and if he could "fall in love" with someone, he'd probably have had time to do so by now. You're still just a teenager in search of yourself, and apparently you have father figure issues since you're clinging to a working adult male.
ㅤ As Welt has said before, this is the bane of his position. He doesn't consider himself particularly handsome or old, though the years are slowly taking their toll, nor does he think about the distant future. He simply has nothing to talk to naive souls about. It's hard to say what qualities you must have to make Welt suddenly want to push the rules aside and be interested in you as an individual, not a patient. And yet if you allow this option, Welt is quite skillful at "extinguishing" the wrong feeling in you.
ㅤ What if it's… the right one? Who but a man to love a man? Mr. Yang will get lost in ideas and thoughts. He won't be able to trust the real him or the false reflection, and the only way out will be the most primitive continuation of the work. Throw the whole thing aside, put a lid on it and throw it down the garbage chute.
ㅤWhat's going on in his family relationships, if any?
ㅤ Welt doesn't have a woman he loves as much as he could, perhaps simply because he doesn't want to commit to a relationship so "recklessly". Things have to go slow and curious, turning interest into romance, and for Mr. Yang, that doesn't mean dating or showing attention at all. Romance is a much broader and more difficult concept; romance is steeped in facial expressions, in rich airs, in subtle touches, in withdrawal. All of this makes the possibility of a therapist-patient relationship closer to reality, because he doesn't need close and constricting contact as a catalyst for falling in love and touching. Welt prefers to touch consciousnesses.
ㅤ Canonical Welt has an adopted son. In the current circumstances, this may be a son he raised long ago and set free to sail, helping both financially and emotionally. Mr. Yang's treasures truly close people, and let's face it, he only has one such person - his son.
ㅤ He has lived a long life, but has never truly learned what it means to love person to person, touching the boundaries of romantic love. Welt loves life in all its manifestations, which is not hard to see.
ㅤ In the evenings, Welt comes home from work to spend time in intoxicating solitude. He doesn't want the opposite outcome. He's not interested in people. After socializing enough at work, sometimes even discussing more fun and curious topics with talkative optimists, his social battery starts to replenish from scratch. Welt sins of watching simple series or programs, choosing them for a long time on the TV. The most primitive timekillers, which he notices in the process of sudden advertisements on his phone, also help him relax. His brain has been working very hard during the day, and all Welt needs is a lack of attention from people.
ㅤHow would he react to your behavior?
ㅤ How would you want him to react? And how do you act yourself? If you openly confess your warm feelings, Welt will listen and nod. He doesn't know how to react. All a man has to do is use a technique he's personally developed - discussion. Why do these feelings arise? What can be done about them? Where to put your energy, how to distract yourself, how to get past the negative experience of rejection…. you will discuss unrequited love with the object of your affection. Veldt may not look worried, but that's only because it's not the first time he's worked under these conditions. My soul's a little twitchy. No, seriously, he's too focused on "right" and "wrong" to recognize spiritual change, so you'd better drop the idea of a long-term relationship.
ㅤ However, if you keep going to him for a year and those feelings persist, Welt will consider… cutting them off. The meetings, I mean. It's going too far, he's getting worse from your presence, from looking at this sad existence. My heart. is torn with sympathy. Shame and even guilt that he can't take these feelings and make you happy, as a therapist is required to do. Mr. Yang may be sick. But he can't take this torture any longer.
ㅤ What is the most poignant moment within your relationship and how will it develop further?
ㅤ The moment when Welt goes to get the prescriptions to sign them. He has yet to leave the office, just touching the doorknob, before you grab his sleeve and hug him from behind. It doesn't have to be like this. No. Your warm touch burns cold into his soul and rubs his ribs with ice; Mr. Yang freezes for a few seconds, afraid to even move. How long had it been since anyone had hugged him like this? How long had it been since he had touched anyone? All the usual emptiness of society suddenly presses in, making Welt think as if he's losing something special and unknown, and remains standing for a while longer, letting you warm your hands against his ironed black shirt.
ㅤ Maybe human touch isn't as indifferent to Welt as he thought.
No, when you pull away, everything will go back to normal. He'll continue to exist and return to the empty house adorned with the coziness of a deserted space to play silly time-killers and relax. This is really the only truly enjoyable version of Welt's life. He doesn't feel like discussing the hard days.
ㅤ Although. now you're standing flush against each other and not talking about anything, but Welt gets an unfamiliar feeling of companionship, the truest of conversations. No one could give him non-verbal contact but you, and it triggered adrenaline, fear, desire. Mr. Yang thought about how maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to give you a chance to bond, but not necessarily the one you wanted - just the one that interested you both. Time.
ㅤ Will Welt stop practicing with you when he finds out where this is going?
ㅤ How would you like him to react? And what do you do yourself? If you openly confess your warm feelings, Welt will listen and nod. He doesn't know how to react. All a man has to do is use a technique he's personally developed - discussion. Why do these feelings arise? What can be done about them? Where to put your energy, how to distract yourself, how to get past the negative experience of rejection…. you will discuss unrequited love with the object of your affection. ㅤ Will Welt stop practicing with you when he finds out where this is going?
ㅤ That's a tough question. He'll really want to, but he just can't. Welt is empathic, and at some point will think it's a little wrong to lose you from his life. Welt is interested in what you have going on, he likes it when you share your joys and experiences. And if this is all over, Welt will stop waiting for the second of every month. It's embarrassing, but it's true.
ㅤ How will he feel behind the walls of his office? Will Welt love you?
ㅤ Humanity. He will feel love for a human being. It won't become a romantic feeling, but it will go deep into the bowels of the mind, and if there is a brain to dig into, Welt will willingly do so and train you. The time you spend together is romantic, tender, but it is still a way of acknowledging each other's respect and importance. Silence means that Welt hears your soul.
ㅤ Learning to love the way Welt loves is very difficult. But his feelings are contagious; gradually you will realize and accept that the love you experience is not as comfortable, interesting, and significant as the love Welt offers. You become friends first and foremost. There is no vulgarity or lust between you, at least not for the first few years, because it requires him to recognize you as part of the family.
ㅤ He will be introducing you to his world and way of thinking. Oh, Yang can hear you and everything about you just fine - so you don't have to worry about being misunderstood.

genuinely not trying to dunk on molly but when ppl say will and molly were so compatible they loved dogs i just think of molly feeding them canned food from china and not even knowing it could harm the dogs, i feel like this is significant because this was what led to dolarhyde being undetected and her attack which led to her estrangement from will, even her common values w will she did not actually share at all there's a meta here
ngl this is pretty clearly dunking on molly. But let’s refute. I personally haven’t seen many metas/posts about the compatibility between will and molly, so I can’t really contest what they say. However, will and her were as compatible as will led her to believe, as much as he would let. He lied to her about his past, which made it so she couldn’t know all of him and couldn’t connect to parts she couldn’t see. Not a fault of molly’s at all
Having looked back on the script for that episode, no credible veterinarian would ever say “was it canned food from china”. It’s unprofessional and xenophobic. Also, a vet in an emergency situation isn’t going to use scare tactics. They just need to know what went in so they can take care of it. Yes, molly was feeding the dogs canned food because will was out of town so he couldn’t make them food. and I can guarantee will is rational enough to say “hey, these brands are okay” and molly isn’t stupid. And they are very well off, so they would need to buy “cheap dog food from china”. If we want to talk about the dialogue in that scene, we have to admit to ourselves fuller is a misogynist who can’t write women, so ofc he made her say “is it bad to be made in china”. It also neglects how SOME but not ALL food has shown problems, but dog food made in the US has also had toxicity issues! And (I can’t remember if this was in show or just in script) the vet says “pet food safety isn't regulated the same way as human food” which is just false. There is high regulation in pet food, and pet food is made to be human grade and safe for human consumption (and has been for decades). Dogs are more likely to be poisoned by xylitol or chocolate from your candy or get pancreatitis from your table scraps than die from “dog food from china”.
But let’s humor for a second it was the cheap dog food molly bought. The concern and toxic component is melamine, which is added to food to fraudulently increase the protein content. it’s nontoxic (ish) by itself and only becomes a problem when combined with cyanuric acid that forms a crystal and leads to renal toxicosis and failure. Some gi biomes have bacteria that can convert melamine to cyanuric acid, but not all, making it more toxic for these patients. It also wasn’t solely a dog food thing, it happened in human children, too. All that aside, most melamine toxicosis cases are chronic, aka molly would have had to feed the dogs for a while, building up these crystals, and slowly killing the kidneys. This wouldn’t happen suddenly to all the dogs at once. Early signs of toxicosis are very detectable symptoms (vomiting, polyuria, polydipsia, lethargy) and these are signs molly would have noticed and done something about. ALSO if it was melamine the veterinarian was worried about, she wouldn’t use activated charcoal as her treatment (as she states in script, again, don’t remember if this was said in the show). Activated charcoal only works for something currently in the stomach, and that isn’t the pathophysiology for melamine. To treat melamine toxicity, you need iv fluids and supportive care. So what we can take from the veterinarian interaction is 1) fuller doesn’t know how medical professional talk to clients and 2) he doesn’t even understand the toxin he mentioned so it feels xenophobic as fuck to even bring that up.
And no, her canon (fuck you fuller) ignorance to the danger of canned dog food isn’t the cause of dolarhyde being undetected and attacking her. Even if she was feeding them dog food with melamine, Will literally figures out and says that dolarhyde poisons the dogs in the family to get rid of the “alarm system”, so he can attack and not have the family alerted. It didn’t matter what dog food molly fed them, dolarhyde intentionally poisoned them. Even if she fed them food will handmade, dolarhyde would have still poisoned them. And she was a good owner who brought all 7 (probably) puking dogs to the vet as soon as she could. molly had nothing to do with dolarhyde attacking her. dolarhyde had something to do with dolarhyde attacking her (and hannibal ofc). At least give her some credit for, you know, surviving
And no, her getting attacked was not the cause of will estranging himself from her. He never really loved her and used her as a fill in for a man he outright rejected. He was having an emotional affair with Hannibal and not giving a shit about molly. That was nothing molly could control.
And we really can’t thoroughly discuss her values because we barely see her onscreen. Her screentime is a plot motivator, we aren’t privy to who she is as a person. She loves her son, lost her first husband, and loves will. That’s kind of it. Oh, yeah, she also takes her son fishing without Fisherman Husband because he chose to estrange himself.

After the Lost Light was taken apart and everyone went their separate ways. Ratchet never died.
Drift, Ratchet and Rodimus are all in a relationship. One day Rodimus is at a bar with Tailgate/ Cyclonus. They're catching up and talking about their relationships. Cyclonus makes a comment about how happy he seems. They are waiting for Drift and Ratchet who are late. Drift calls and tells them he just got a client who needed an emergency appointment because their loved one just died and they are a mess. Ratchet calls a few minutes later to say he has an emergency surgery and can’t make it.
They continue talking when Tailgate wants to dance. They offer for Rodimus to join them but he declines saying that he should get home. He orders one last drink for himself and doesn't realize someone spiked it until he starts feeling the effects. By this time it’s too late and he ends up getting taken. He wakes up in a hotel room and panics. He rushes home not even checking his comm.
When he gets home Ratchet is cold with him and doesn't want to let him in. He can tell both of his Conjunx are upset. He asks them what’s wrong and Ratchet shows him evidence of his cheating which was sent to them by an anonymous number. He quickly denies it and pleads with them to listen. They give him a drug test which shows nothing because the drugs are out of his system by now.
Both of them are angry. Roddy is still pleading with them to understand. At first Ratchet is the angriest and then Drift just snaps. Inner Deadlock comes out and he punches Rodimus so hard he falls to the ground. Yelling at him for betraying them. He attacks Rodimus and beats him until Ratchet decides he’s had enough and stops Drift. However he refuses him medical treatment. Rodimus, bleeding and terrified, is still pleading and ends up being kicked out.
He’s homeless for a little while still pleading with his Conjunx that he’s innocent. However they refuse to listen saying that what he’s done is unforgivable and to stop contacting them.
Rodimus finds any jobs he can to get himself off the streets. The jobs are a lot of hard work and Roddy thinks that’s why he feels sick all the time. Then one day he passes out and is taken to a doctor where he finds out he’s sparked and Ratchet and Drift are the sires.
He goes to call them and then stops. They blocked his number and said they didn’t want to talk to him ever again. He’s also afraid they would demand custody and take his sparkling away but the biggest reason is that he’s afraid of them. They hurt him and he doesn’t want to be in that position again because they could have killed his sparkling and he’s scared they will kill them if they find out.
Tailgate/Cyclonus find out what happened and they know Rodimus is innocent and they investigate. They prove to Drift and Ratchet that he wasn’t lying and was innocent the whole time.
Shocked, Drift and Ratchet decide to search for Rodimus apologize and bring him back home.
Tw
They way this pain hurts so much but man is it perfect!
They assume Rodimus did something because they already lacked faith & trust in him not to mention this solidifies what Rodimus already knew.
They never truly loved, trusted or wanted him.
The two of them needing someone other than their conjunx to tell them Rodimus is innocent is so mean and heart breaking.
They fall into a sadness knowing they pushed and ruined their conjunx who was telling the truth the entire time and even was assaulted!
He was assaulted and they weren’t there for him!
They beat themselves up so badly at the huge mistake they’ve made, especially Drift when he realizes he beat up Roddy who didn’t even try to fight back.
And them going looking for Rodimus only to find him months later leaving his new job as a painter, something he was always good at but liked keeping to himself, heavy with a sparkling in his tanks while carrying a bag of supplies and fuel.
The sight shocks them completely and they stand there spark frozen and speechless as the sun shines on him and his large round tank that makes him waddle.
They follow him to his new home. A nice area with neighborhoods in a place thats near a park but still quiet enough. Rodimus is unlocking his door when the two make themselves known by brushing his em field with sorrows and apologies only to be met with pain.
It practically kills them right then and there when they see the terrified expression on Rodimus’s faceplates as he turns around dropping his fuel and paint supplies.
His servos are protecting his tanks as he tries to back away from them shaking his helm, leaking a river from his optics at just the sight of them.
“Stay back!”
They don’t even get a word in as Rodimus almost buckles holding his tanks looking ready to collapse and go into emergence. Ratchet tries to run towards him only to be met with Rodimus’s fire burning him in warning.
“Get away from us! Come any closer and I’ll scream!”
Rodimus is venting so heavy and Drift feels coolant come to his optics much like Ratchet as Rodimus grabs his bags in a struggle and rushes tumbling into the house slamming the door locking it even using a bolt.
They can hear him leaking on the other side and all they can do is just stand there with shaky open servos that feel far too cold to belong to a living bot.
“What have we done…”
Drift isn’t sure who said it but he does know it was Ratchet who spoke after an hour of them standing there.
“..he almost went into stress induced emergence because of us…”
Its Drift who breaks the silence after another hour of standing there.
“They have to be ours…ratty…I..i beat him up..oh gosh…i-i could’ve killed them..i could’ve killed roddy and our sparkling..oh my gosh!”
Ratchet grips him to keep him from spiraling even though he himself feels like he’s dying inside at how cruel he was to his own conjunx.
“How do we fix this ratty? How?”
“I..i don’t know drift.. i don’t-i don’t know.”
Rodimus spends days inside his own home fearing for his sparkling and himself.
He can feel that Ratchet and Drift haven’t left his home once and its scaring him not knowing why.
He’s glad they don’t try and come inside but he still doesn’t want them anywhere near him or his sparkling and he needs to leave for his sparklings appointment but they’re still outside waiting for him.
So he does the next best thing.
He calls a co worker and friend of his to pick him up, explaining the situation they immediately come by with their shared group of friends…who happen to be former decepticons.
Seeing a loader full of former cons scares the heck out of the two especially when its dangerous cons they were lucky decided to leave the war instead of staying apart of it. They stroll right up to the door and go inside helping Rodimus to the loader completely blocking him from their view.
The two follow and find they took Roddy to a doctor appointment. The sight of rough huge former cons with multiple battle scars inside a small bright sparkling and carrier office was comical especially with the way they fawned over Roddy and his sparkling bump.
The two felt pain course through them as they realized once again just how much they’ve messed up and think to themselves once more.
What have we done and how do we fix this?
Eventually they corner Rodimus and get on their knees apologizing and eventually he listens to their apologies before telling them to leave.
He confirms its their sparkling and says they can see them when they emerge and help raise them but thats it.
It’s obvious roddy still loves them but that kind of hurt just doesn’t go away with an apology.
They vow to spend the rest of their lives making up for what they’ve done and winning him back and he tells them its no need because he doesn’t want that.
He just wants his sparkling to be safe and have a happy life and he wishes them the same but just not with him.
They refuse to give up though and they eventually do get Roddy back. They never let a day go by without Rodimus knowing he’s deeply loved

Some of my expierences living as a trans man - because being openly nonbinary here will have you loose all access to resources - with my girlfriend, a nonbinary trans woman. Because people genuinely need to touch grass. This is our lived expierence: it largely does not matter which way around we are trans. People hate us both. Stop dividing the community.
I have been on T for 3 years. I have facial hair. I have not been able to get surgeries and my chest ist large. I can't bind. I try to dress masculine in public for safety, but anything I wear is still seen as feminine due to my figure. I would like to dress feminine, but can't. I am constantly dysphoric.
My girlfriend has facial hair. She tries to dress masculine in public for safety, but people can often tell something queer is going on anyway. Sometimes she dresses in a more feminine way, but oftentimes she can't. She is constantly dysphoric.
People do not care which way around I am queer. They do not care which way around she is. They see someone with facial hair who is too feminine. They see someone who does not fit. We both get the same looks.
My endocrinologist refuses to give trans people who take testosterone information. He additionally tells them they will not be able to get pregnant. (Wrong and dangerous.) He does not warn them of any changes besides body hair growth. If we complain about anything, he will kick us out. My period did not stop and I had horrible pains. He refused to help. He is currently threatening me as I have not had any surgeries yet and he is doubting my trans-ness. He deadnames and misgenders me always.
The same endocrinologist refuses to give people who take estrogen T-blockers. He does not inform them of estrogen correctly. He doubts their trans-ness if they do not have surgeries for too long. He threatens to kick them out when they complain. He deadnames and misgenders them. My girlfriend is scared to go there.
My endocrinologist does not care that I am a trans man and she is a trans woman. We will never be man and woman enough. We are not allowed to be nonbinary. He kicks out nonbinary people straight away. Neither of us have access to appropriate medical help.
When I buy clothes I can't find anything that fits me. My chest and hips do not fit in men's clothes, my shoulders do not fit in women's clothes anymore. People stare at me in the men's section and in the women's section. I hate shopping.
My girlfriend can't find clothes that fit her in the women's section. She is dysphoric about shopping in the men's section. People stare at her. She also hates shopping.
I am trying to find a psychiatrist and a psychiatric clinic. The last psychiatrist I had yelled at me for being trans. The last therapist I had kicked me out for it. My current therapist has contacted someone he knows in a clinic and got the answer "Your client shouldn't come here, we aren't good at dealing with trans people." I am terrified of getting help.
My girlfriend has seen me go through this. She badly needs a therapist to start estrogen. She is terrified of getting help as well.
The people who are supposed to help us do not care which way we are trans. They simply "do not know how to deal with us". They "have no experience". They are transphobic.
When I was at the hospital last weekend, I was constantly misgendered. I was ignored, even though the woman in the same room as me was given treatment. I was treated as if I was in the wrong room, on the wrong station, because it was the woman's station. They put me there. Then they proceeded to punish me for it, as if I was trespassing, when I was having an emergency. A doctor who was supposed to see if my heart was beating correctly accused me of not really being trans with disgust - I have no idea why he should have cared in the first place. I'm scared and unsafe in medical environments. I try my best to avoid them.
My girlfriend is in chronic pain. She can still pass as cis well enough to be treated fine - if she doesn't speak up and let's herself be misgendered, put in the men's section, act correctly and isn't obviously queer. So she does not seek treatment. She's scared and unsafe in medical environments, and does her best to avoid them.
I am currently denied access to both the men's and the women's bathroom. I look too much like the other gender each way. At my last job, the cleaning ladies told my boss about which bathroom I was using in hopes he would yell at me for it. I'm scared to travel out go out for long periods of time because of it.
My girlfriend can still use the men's bathroom if she dresses masculine, but as soon as she doesn't, that's over as well. She has the same problem I do.
The laws in Germany are supposed to be changed. Currently, to change our name and gender, we have to pay up to 2000€ to people who ask us what panties we wear and which porn we watch. If a trans man has long hair, or a trans woman short hair, that might be reason enough to deny us. Then, judges have the final say. The laws are supposed to have been changed years ago. They still haven't been. We both have to go through this.
Lastly, I have been rejected from the gynecologist for being a trans woman. I have endometriosis. I have a uterus. They knew this. They were transphobic, and they do not care to learn about trans people. Why would they?
Our daily lives expierence in discrimination is incredibly similar, if not the same. I can be discriminated for being a trans man, a trans woman, nonbinary, just looking queer. As can my girlfriend. Bigots do not care to learn about us. They just hate us. They see I have breasts and a beard and hate me the same as they hate my girlfriend for wearing a skirt with facial hair shadow visible.
This isn't to say everything is the same. We both have gender and transition specific issues as well. Conversations go differently, outings go differently at times, and we know who the news loves to target most. That conversation has to be had, but this isn't a post about that.
I have seen a ridiculous amount of infighting between transmasc and transfem people recently. (Often completely forgetting those of us who are unaligned and do not fit in that binary by the way.) I am posting this to say: THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR LABELS. They don't give a shit. They'll hate you either way. You're a dirty queer in the eyes of bigots as soon as you are openly gender nonconforming in any way whatsoever. We expierence SO MUCH shared discrimination. Stop this complete idiocy and GO OUTSIDE. Connect with a community. Ideally find the next trans person you have nothing in common with and then talk. What the hell is this "oh they have it better than us" on both sides supposed to achieve exactly?? I could list dozens of examples just like the ones above.
Lastly, one more:
When I expierence transphobia, when I see a scary post on social media, when politicians are trying to kill us and when the doctor I had an appointment with questioned my genitals more than my pain, I go to my girlfriend, I look at the many pride flags we put up in our apartment, I hug her, I kiss her, I feel safe. For just a moment.
And when she sees the news, when she's scared to dress in a certain way, to do her makeup on her own, when she expierences comments about her queerness and struggles to find medical help, she comes to me. And I hope she feels safe as well.
We must help each other.

Tl;Dr discussion of rates, the art industry, personal thoughts etc.
For a long time there- a period of about 3 years when I started freelancing again- all I wanted was to work for companies like Wizards. I held the art made for them in such high esteem, I got a mentor to help me work in that direction and I've labored in blood to get my skill and style there. Stress straight up put me in the emergency room.
And gods I've grown, but the critical, negative, you're not ever going to get there in my head has grown so strong that the rift between what I see and what I make has grown even wider. I genuinely only see what I could have done better in my work most of the time these days. I struggle to share it because between Twitter's slow motion implosion and the industry being Like That and this aforementioned rift, I am torn between "it's not good enough" and "what's the point?"
When honestly, my style and work have thrived best under work for private clients and small entities. I'm starting to realize that maybe that's where it's at- and I'm closer to something I really wanted all along. I don't want to make something that is an asset, I want to make pieces that sing, or shriek, right into a heart. I want to make work that is a collaboration between my client's imagination and heart and my heart and my hand.
That's not to say that the private client atmosphere is always going to be conducive to artists living healthy lives or getting paying wages. The balance is hardly struck, through by god I love madly in my heart each client that will pay my high rates and help me set that example that my work is worth $30 an hour.
But I also haven't raised my rates for private clients in 2 years. I've painted maybe 300 complete paintings since, probably more, and that number hasn't changed, because the people I love working with most can't afford it.
But in turn, I've found out that the artists who work for people as big as fucking Wizards are over delivering masterpieces for wages that haven't changed in 20 years. Storm the Seedcore by Jason Rainville is a fucking piece of triumph that I have had as my wallpaper for years as an aspirational piece a fucking beauty of motion, composition and color that he delivered for $1200. (It's his spirit of transparency that he showed in discussing it that I hope to share in talking about this now).
$1200 to a megazillion corpo that indubitably made so much more off that incredible piece. Like, Jesus Christ. Sure he got the right to sell prints and he probably lives better than me but, what?
So until things get better, and who knows if they will, maybe it is best that I stay here struggling. And all I can do is try to take care of myself while working with the beautiful people that I do and making the art that I want. But god, finding that balance has been so difficult I have stretches of days paralyzed by indecision and depression.
It's been hard to think and I genuinely have made a resolution of 2024 to be more cognitively present instead of self medicating to keep working, because my art needs me, not just the skills I've cultivated over years to autopilot out a painting. And I have to be in one sane piece to deliver.
So I'll keep striving to share my work even if my critical self keeps seeing problems. I'll keep loving and trying to reward all the care and investment my followers and clients have given with more of this work. I'll probably keep bleeding a little into my paintings the way I have, though I'll try to take care of myself and feed myself too.
It's all just a storm of imbalance distracting from the heart of it all: we're trying to create something that will outlast us here. Something that sings.
It shouldn't be this hard, but hell, it always feels worst before a breakthrough, right?

i don't know how to phrase this any other way so i hope you don't find this rude or anything: you are (imo) a very skilled, very prolific art toaster. it's great quality artwork obviously, but your turnaround is wicked crazy fast to me. what does burnout look like for you? how do you manage to toast so many arts? what dark magics must you employ??
The hard truth is I worked in journalism for two years between 2010-2012 and customer service/hospitality starting at 16 years old in 2007 all throughout my life until 2022 and I don't want to go back to any of it now that I'm almost 33 - that's the main motivator to keep my freelance gig career doing art commissions going as long as possible. Fear and loathing of going back to that work environment keeps me focused.
In action...I'm not quite sure if I ever experience 'burn out'? I do experience art 'block' in that I can't think of anything to draw on my own or feel really unsatisfied with my work...so I just goof off with my canvas or do studies, but this doesn't interfere with doing commissions where I am told what to draw.
I just enjoy the physical act of drawing. Sometimes when I'm bored and restless and going for a walk doesn't help, I just draw more. When I was a kid I would just come home from school and draw crap between playing Gameboy/N64/Gamecube or browsing Elfwood/Newgrounds/DeviantART/Gaia Online, so it's literally just a habit now. If I don't draw for a long time I feel anxious and unwell. Somehow I just programmed my brain to think that art = leisure fun time, even if it's for work. I also tend to get into a "zone" sometimes and just put on video essays or music and a few hours later I'll have worked through some commission stuff.
I have three 'task lists' for my workflow:
A public trello board organized by work order types (N/SFW link)
A personal trello board organized by type/date in chronological order
A coloured tagging and folder system in my emails where I can just see the actual dates/timestamps of my last correspondence with a client so I know exactly who in my taskboard needs to be prioritized for their next WIP update
I hold myself to a standard of sending a client a WIP in stages:
rough draft (1-14 business days)
revisions (1-5 business days)
line art (1-14 business days)
revisions (1-5 business days)
final render (1-14 business days)
tweaks (1-2 business days)
So ideally, the client gets a finished commission in 3-6 weeks, so about 1-2 months. For larger projects I send more WIPs and the process is obviously longer. For simpler stuff like chibis, it's rarely a full six weeks. Over holidays I add an extra two weeks to my noted turn-around to account for IRL time off. On all my terms of service I have a maximum four months turn-around, essentially doubling the time I know my work flow is just in case there's some sort of medical or equipment emergency in my life that I need to account for that gives me a buffer (I also notify all clients)
Monday to Friday I wake up usually...late morning/early afternoon? I do anywhere from four to eight hours of artwork, broken up by walks, stretching, eating, cleaning, cooking, hanging out with my partner, etc. I look at my personal trello taskboard and emails to see what must be done and what can wait. I try to get at least 1-2 things done in a day though, be that sketches/line art/renders/revisions.
Right now I am looking at my email and task board, and the client with the highest wait time chronologically is someone who is waiting for their final render (sketch and line art already revised and done for them). Last email correspondence with them on the email says 9 days ago (so 7 business days, I'm supposed to take Sat-Sun off). Their order was paid in full and confirmed by me on November 9 and it is currently December 13, so I'm at about the 5 week mark (not accounting for delays in clients getting back to me of course) and I am very much On Course for my work load, no one has been without contact from me for 14 days or more so I'm pretty ahead of my game right now! I could take tomorrow off if I wanted, or only do 3-4 hours of work if I feel like it.
However the more work you finish and post, the more you show prospective clients your ability to finish orders and show your audience more art for engagement, so ideally I always like posting stuff when I can, it just creates a cycle of positive production and income.

🕸the spider's gaze: horror film reviews🕸
Welcome to the spider's gaze, where I pluck something from the Cave of Carnography and see what it has to say about drugs, sex, violence, and the human condition. Tonight's film...
American Mary (2012)
Tumblr media
(Does the Dog Die) (🏴‍☠️)
Horror: 4/5 (Very gory at times but only rarely horrific)
Horny/Homoerotic: 3/5 (the sex is not very sexy. the surgery and blood however...)
Good as in well constructed: 2.5/5
Good as in I like it: 4.5/5
Overall: A-
Summary: American Mary is a movie that is obsessed with the body and the things people do to it. It sees sex as violence, surgery as sadism, and extreme body modifications as love. It's part the story of an impoverished medical student overcoming the sexism of the medical field to do great things, and part the story of the birth and death of a monster. It is a modern classic to me.
The movie opens with close up, almost erotic, shots of a turkey having surgery done on it to the sound of classical music, so you know you are in for a ride right away. We soon learn that Mary is a medical student who is the granddaughter of a Budapest immigrant and is plagued with financial troubles. These troubles are relieved one night when she goes into a strip club looking to become a dancer, and leaves as an emergency, off the books surgeon and extreme body modifier. At first reluctant to accept this role that has been thrust onto her, Mary soon dives in head first after being assaulted by one of her professors and subsequently dropping out of medical school and taking revenge on her assaulter.
This is where a lot of people might be turned off of American Mary, and see it as another "woman scorned" story, and that is definitely valid. But what I love about it is that it never seems like this story line removes Mary's agency. She never becomes a complete monster or loses herself. She does plenty of fucked up shit, and becomes petty and dangerous and sadistic, but she also tries to help people become their "true selves" through the power of extreme body mods. She really feels like an underdog trying to improve the world with the skills at her disposal.
Dr.Mary Mason (if Frankenstein can be refereed to as a doctor, so can Mary) is a slasher on the order of Norman Bates and honestly should have been just as impactful. Unfortunately, this movie came out about 10-15 years too late for that to have happened. She is iconic and unique in everything. Katharine Isabelle pulls off the complexity and contradictions of the character beautifully and makes her unlike any "woman turned monstrous by the patriarchy."
Personally, the character of Lance, who becomes Mary's bodyguard, is my favorite. I love a big softy who is capable of incredible violence, and this line gets me every time. It is delivered perfectly.
Tumblr media
I do agree that the ending leaves something to be desired, as does the toxic straight-yuri plotline that goes nowhere. Dr.Mary is eventually killed by the husband of one of her clients after he finds out she has been "dollified". While this does have thematic appropriateness (the theme of men only valuing women when they can provide them with sex) it does feel anticlimactic. This is a movie that leaves you wanting more in a bad way. If Mary had miraculously survived and disappeared into the night, Michael Myers style, that would have felt more complete. As it is, it feels a bit disappointing that she can never escape patriarchal violence.
It is still a love letter to the alternative freaks, creeps and sickos trying to make it in the world, and something of a comfort movie to me.

so one of my many jobs right now is working as a client care coordinator at a counseling group (where i'll also be interning this year!! <333 the same place i did that talk on gender affirming surgeries and stuff) and my primary project is creating a training document for the therapists on what to do when a client is in crisis
so basically, how to know when your client's suicidality has reached the point of a medical emergency, and then what to do, including how to do your damndest not to have the cops involved
anyway i've been working on this for months alongside my boss and she's just a major bad ass so she always ends up giving me another nuanced perspective to think about at the end of our meetings. and so today my head is swimming with how i talk about suicide with my friends and when it's okay and even helpful for it to be joked about and when it really shouldn't be.
and idk there's just A LOT to think about when it comes to this stuff. i'm grateful to be working with her so closely because i know it's going to make me a much better therapist down the line. and it's just heavy. like she said if you're a therapist long enough you're going to have someone who attempts or even succeeds. and just....god. to think that it's a sign of you being very successful at helping people, to have done it long enough to see yourself...fail.

When the FBI raided Donald Trump’s private resort and residence last month, after obtaining a search warrant based on probable cause that they’d find evidence of one or more crimes, it was presumably difficult for people to resist fantasizing that the Feds would soon arrest the former president and perp-walk him out of the place. That fantasy, we’re guessing, likely involved the 45th president trying to wriggle out of handcuffs while screaming “It was Melania!”, before being tased by an agent on the scene. It likely also included— and again, we're just guessing here!—him being charged and found guilty of the crimes cited by the government, plus a few others we didn’t even expect, like selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton bags and smuggling exotic lizards into the country, the latter of which would emerge he undertook with Jared Kushner. Naturally, this fantasy would also include the former president being sentenced to numerous years in prison, and a hysterical Don Jr. and Eric Trump telling reporters outside the courthouse of their plans to go to law school so they could represent their father on appeal.
Obviously, all of this could still happen. On Monday, though, such dreams became somewhat less likely after a judge threw the ex-president an outrageous, legally-suspect bone.
That bone came courtesy of Judge Aileen Cannon, who granted Trump’s request for a special master to review the 11,000 government documents seized from Mar-a-Lago on August 8 and blocked prosecutors from continuing to use the documents in their criminal investigation until that review is complete. The absurdly deferential ruling was based on Team Trump’s claims that some of the materials are covered by “executive privilege,” i.e., their go-to argument whenever the ex-ex-President has done something that seems like it might be illegal. “The Court hereby authorizes the appointment of a special master to review the seized property for personal items and documents and potentially privileged material subject to claims of attorney-client and/or executive privilege,” she wrote. (According to the ruling, the FBI found “medical documents, correspondence related to taxes, and accounting information” among the classified information, and seized that too; according to The Daily Beast, “the DOJ has indicated that their placement next to some of the nation’s most highly classified secrets officially makes them evidence of Trump’s criminal recklessness that could be shown at a future trial.”) And if you’re wondering if Cannon’s decision was one that members of the legal community would agree was well-founded, legitimate, and completely unimpeachable, the answer is “no,” “no,” and “hell no.”
“To any lawyer with serious federal criminal court experience who is being honest, this ruling is laughably bad, and the written justification is even flimsier,” Samuel Buell, a Duke University law professor, told The New York Times. “Donald Trump is getting something no one else ever gets in federal court, he’s getting it for no good reason, and it will not in the slightest reduce the ongoing howls that he is being persecuted, when he is being privileged.” Constitutional law professor Laurence Tribe similarly assessed the situation, writing that Cannon’s decision was “utterly lawless” and that she “has disgraced her position as an Article III judge.” Former US acting solicitor general Neal Katyal tweeted: “This special master opinion is so bad it’s hard to know where to begin....Frankly, any of my first year law students would have written a better opinion.”
Why the negative reviews and insinuations that Cannon should go back to remedial judge school? For one, there’s the fact that she suggested publicly, even before she heard arguments from the Justice Department, that she was going to side with Trump. Then there’s the fact that, despite tacitly acknowledging that the documents Trump was hoarding at Mar-a-Lago are a big fucking deal—Cannon permitted a probe by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which is assessing the risk to national security of keeping top secret documents in the basement of a building possibly breached by multiple spies—she temporarily halted the one that could result in Trump being charged with a crime. There’s also the absurd idea that “executive privilege” can be asserted in an investigation being undertaken by a department within the executive branch, i.e., the DOJ. “The opinion,” Peter Shane, a legal scholar at NYU, told the Times, “seems oblivious to the nature of executive privilege.”
Perhaps most galling, though, was the argument by Cannon that Trump would suffer grave “reputational harm” if a special master was not allowed to intervene, a claim that numerous legal experts agreed was utter bullshit. Ronald Sullivan, a Harvard Law School professor, told the Times that everyone targeted by a search warrant worries about how their reputation will suffer as a result, but few of them are able to call in favors from the government; he dubbed Cannon’s logic “thin at best” and accused her of giving “undue weight” to Trump’s status as a former inhabitant of the White House. “I find that deeply problematic,” he told the outlet, noting that, in the United States, the criminal justice system is supposed to treat everyone equally. “This court is giving special considerations to the former president that ordinary, everyday citizens do not receive.” Attorney Seth Abramson similarly called BS on Monday, tweeting that Cannon “declared—and not just implicitly, but, horrifyingly, *explicitly*—that Donald Trump’s reputation simply *matters* more than yours or mine, as do his property rights. And they matter more because he is a powerful man.” DOJ veteran Andrew Weissman wrote: “Nothing about the MAL search warrant process was special and her reasoning [would] lead to appointment of a special master in EVERY criminal case. The only thing special is a former president stealing highly classified docs.” Commenting on the ludicrous idea that the entire criminal investigation should be halted because a few of Trump’s doctors notes were mixed in with top secret documents he wasn’t supposed to be holding onto, former federal prosecutor Jeff Blattner posed the following hypothetical: “Suppose a guy robs a bank and government gets a search warrant and finds stolen dough along with guy’s pocket change and an email from his lawyer. Can the guy get a special master to sort out the cash and the email, and an injunction against further investigation in the meantime?”
By the way, if you’re wondering whether Cannon is cut from the same MAGA cloth as the guy who gave her a lifetime appointment to the federal bench at the age of 39, it would seem she is. We know this because she bizarrely claimed in her ruling that one of the reasons Trump should receive special treatment was because of the no-good, very-bad free press. “The Court takes into account the undeniably unprecedented nature of the search of a former President’s residence,” she wrote, saying it is of the utmost importance to protect the ex-President amid “swirling allegations of bias and media leaks.”

As Vox’s Ian Millhiser pointed out on Tuesday, not only is the legal justification for appointing a special master “highly dubious,” but it “could lead to considerable delay” of the investigation—and the potential prosecution of Trump— “for months or years.” While many believe that Cannon’s ruling will be appealed by the DOJ, “any appeal would be heard by the Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in Atlanta, where Mr. Trump appointed six of its 11 active judges," the Times worryingly reminds us.
Anyway, for anyone still who remains unconvinced that this whole thing was an egregious, disturbing move, here’s noted Trump lackey Bill Barr—who has spent years trying to keep the guy out of prison—on the ruling:

Sure thing, I don't mind explaining, and you're not bothering me at all! I crop out the names of all blogs that ask to be anonymous, so you have no worries.
I'll link the post here so it can be read as a whole; below, I'll cut the post up to explain it in sections. The post will be in bold and indented, explanation will not.
--
Imagine you work in one of the hospitals in Naha. It’s past midnight, visiting hours are over, you’re probably expecting car accidents or something of the like to be the only problems you might face.
The first sentence sets the scene, putting you in the position of a nurse working the graveyard shift at a hospital; you can actually imagine yourself in this scenario if you so choose. The next sentence describes a pretty calm, mundane situation that your imaginary self finds themself in.
But then, all of a sudden, a dude without a shirt on comes in running with a dude in ninja cosplay bleeding from his head in his arms followed by a guy in KISS cosplay.
Imagine next, your calm night is interrupted by an emergency. These lines focus on Joe's, Cherry's, and Shadow's costumes, as a head injury coming into a hospital isn't abnormal. It wants you to imagine just how shocking- or silly- it would look for three grown men in costume to come running in. You- as a nurse working in a hospital, not as a show viewer- do not know what or how this happened.
You then realize that the bleeding man is the Sakurayakishi Kaoru, a well known calligrapher who is always showing up on TV and is known for his AI Calligraphy.
The next sentence focuses specifically on Kaoru. The "the" in this sentence is italicized to remind us of Kaoru's importance/status in everyday life.
So, what do we know about Kaoru? How important of a person is he? From his trivia, we know:
"Cherry would receive good omotenashi from his clients, and he is very picky so it's hard to satisfy him."
There is no doubt that Kaoru has a great rapport among his clients- if he didn't no one would go to him for services. But, the fact that the trivia states that the people who are paying him for a service want to be well-received by him shows just how important of a person he is. Also, the sub refers to him as "sensei".
Now, here’s a question. How the fuck did nobody call the police?
This is the only line of the post that doesn't ask you to use your imagination but asks you to think over everything you just imagined.
You're a nurse working the night shift when a head injury comes in dressed in wild costumes. You soon realize that the patient is a public figure. The question is asking whether or not why you, or one of your coworkers, or any random person didn't call law enforcement in this very odd scenario.
The reason this question is asked is because of three reasons. The first is in the third section, Kaoru's status as a public figure. It is well known that celebrities and the like use aliases when they are going to hospitals, hotels, etc. so that media and fans don't storm the places their residing in. However, Kaoru is unconscious and can't have given that sort of directive, and unless Kojiro is on his medical file as an emergency contact (he definitely could be, but we don't know for certain.) he doesn't have that sort of power. Also, anyone who would have seen Kaoru be brought in would instantly recognize him, and we've been shown not only that large swaths of people love him but people having extreme reactions to him.
The second reason is because Kaoru's injuries would not look like an accident. His face alone would bear the imprint from Ainosuke's board, so it would look like he was struck with something. He would have two different head wounds; we saw the one on his right temple, but he would have hit the back of his head when he hit the ground. His arms and back would be road-rashed to hell and back, and just general injuries from hitting the ground after being thrown back after going at high speeds. At best, he'd look like he was hit by a truck, but then you'd have questions of a hit and run or whether it was a premeditated attack.
[Side Note: It also doesn't help that in his S attire, Kojiro has a visible tattoo, which may cause some people to look at him negatively and possibly accuse him of something. He and Hiromi are also indigenous men and would very possibly have to deal with racist and prejudiced people.]
The last reason is that the police are all over the show. There's not only Kiriko, but her boss, security guards, the people that arrest Tanaka, even some of the capmen are hinted at being police officers. In a show where they are so prominent, it's kinda hard to think they wouldn't show up here as well, especially seeing as Kaoru is part of the upper class, and this is also the part of the show where it was thought that Kiriko was closing in on Ainosuke.
-
TLDR: This post is about a nurse working a night shift at a hospital, when suddenly a public figure with a head injury comes in, and has to decide on a course of action.
[End Note: I created this post in a way that you could avoid looking too much into it and ignore that entire explanation if you wanted to and just take it as a dumb/silly joke post.]
--
Now, I don't know if you also wanted me to talk about the replies? I guess you might since you linked that version of the post. This one is long enough as it is so I'll talk about them under the cut.
So, full disclosure before we start, I have both of these people blocked because they both fantasize about a 26yr old man sexually assaulting a 17yr old boy. I was groomed by a pedophile I met in a fandom and thus have zero tolerance for people who get off on the harm they cause.

The guy with no shirt paid off anyone who wanted to call the cops so that he and all of his friends wouldn’t lose their jobs/reputations/prospects of a future by being arrested for participation in an illegal skateboarding club. Next question?
Now, when I first read this comment months back, I was just genuinely confused, mostly because it was unnecessarily hostile, but I'll give a proper response here.
This comment doesn't make any sense because there would be no need for Kojiro to do that. When a head injury comes into a hospital, the nurse's first reaction wouldn't be "Oh god, there's an illegal skateboarding ring, I need to call the police so these people can be arrested"; their reaction would be "Let's get them to imaging so we can see what's wrong". Kojiro wouldn't bribe anybody- mostly because he wouldn't have the money to bribe a bunch of hospital staff- but an attempt to bribe anybody would be an admission that they'd done something illegal in the first place. He could just lie and say Kaoru was hit by a car or attacked or something. The question wasn't asking why someone didn't call the police on Kaoru, Kojiro, and Hiromi, it was asking why no did it for them so they could report that their friend was hurt, which is a normal thing people do in the world we currently live in; they wouldn't have to mention S in any capacity. It would be more suspicious for Kojiro to try and bribe people- also the nurses themselves could just lie about their silence, take the money, and then report them- when they could just let the police come make up an easy explanation and be done with it.
Now let's look at their tags.
Tumblr media
Now, you've read my post - sans explanation. Does anything that they're accusing me of line up with what I wrote? Nowhere in my post does it state that cops are a positive force (And tbh the idea that someone saying "How didn't anyone call the cops? means that a person is pro-cop when there are tons of people in this world who don't face or benefit from the systematic violence cops are a part of and thus would have no problem or see no problem calling them shows that you don't really have a good understanding of how state-funded violence and oppression actually works).
Second, nowhere in my post do I state that cops should show up at S. In fact, S is not mentioned in my post once because it was never about S, it was about a nurse in a hospital tending to a patient.
Also, I shouldn't have to tell you how vile it is to talk down to me- a black trans person- about cop violence.

I've both edited and screenshotted the next comment to exclude images because it's all broken up, and I want it to be easier to read. You can click the link at the top to look at it in its entirety.

This comment makes even less sense than the first because it's all about Adam and S. Someone that wasn't mentioned in my post, and has nothing to do with it. This comment is working off the idea that I want cops at S. That I want all the black and non-black lgbt people to lose everything, and to be arrested by the police. That I don't understand the threat the police bring to these people.
And, as I'm rereading these comments again, it just feels like they didn't read my original post to begin with? Nothing of what they're saying lines up with what I did; it honestly just feels like they wanted someone to be mad at and picked a buzzword off my post.
--
My reply at the end was mostly my confusion at the amount of hostility towards what a pretty innocuous post. I was also a bit upset because, like I stated before, they are accusing a black person of not understanding police violence. You would think that if someone knows oh so much about police brutality they might also have the wherewithal to make sure the person they're talking down to isn't one of the people most likely to be killed by them.
I turned off reblogs on that post back then because this is tumblr, and I've been in fandom long enough to realize bullshit starts over bullshit, and I refused to be harassed over something I didn't say.
I hope this was enough of an explanation for you (if not I'll try again!). If you ever want me to explain another one of my posts, just ask and I'll do so. It's never a bother.

Magdalena Rodriguez-Ortega, 23 (USA 1994)
“I knew I screwed up.” That’s what abortionist Suresh Gandotra said about the day he was doing an abortion and he pulled out his client’s bowel instead of fetal body parts.
Magdalena Ortega-Rodriguez was 23 years old when she went to an abortion facility on December 8, 1994. She had no idea that she would never walk out of the building. What she received from El Norte Clinica Medica was not medical treatment but a horrific death for her baby and herself.
The abortionist was Gandotra, who had already mutilated an abortion client in 1991 so severely that surgeons had trouble identifying which organ was which. Yet he was still allowed to continue his career as an abortionist long enough to mutilate and kill Magdalena.
On that day, Gandotra called a hospital and asked for directions to send Magdalena there in a car. The staff at the hospital heard the description of her condition and told Gandotra that Magdalena needed an ambulance. The hospital started assembling a team for the catastrophic injuries and waited to receive their patient.
Gandotra left the bleeding Magdalena unmonitored and alone while he did more abortions on his other clients. After half an hour, he finally called an ambulance. But when he called, he did not inform them that there was a team at a hospital already preparing to treat her.
Paramedics found Magdalena in ventricular fibrillation, with no pulse, bleeding, and on the floor. Because they were not told about the hospital that was awaiting this critically injured patient, they took Magdalena to another hospital that was not prepared to treat a patient with her specific injuries. Gandotra didn’t tell the paramedics anything about Magdalena’s condition or send her medical history.
A nurse at the hospital that attempted to treat Magdalena said, “I’ve never seen anything like this before and I don’t want to again.” When Magdalena was rushed into surgery, it was discovered that her cervix, uterus, bladder and colon were all lacerated. Her uterus was ruptured with a severed limb from her baby protruding into her abdomen. When the surgeon opened Magdalena’s peritoneum, the operating room was spattered with escaping blood because the peritoneum was so distended with blood.
Magdalena bled to death during her emergency surgery. Her cause of death was listed as “complications of the acute pelvic injuries which consisted of lacerations of the lower uterus, vagina, bladder and colon.” Her baby’s corpse was also autopsied with equally disturbing results. Not only had Gandotra dramatically miscalculated gestational age, but the autopsy report described “the body of the baby was not complete when autopsied. Both arms had been cut off; the heart, lungs, liver, and other organs had been cut out, the front of the chest and abdomen were missing, the right femur was fractured, the head was intact except for an area on the scalp which had been taken off from the back of the head.”
Gandotra told the medical board that he delayed calling an ambulance because he had no admitting privileges and claimed that the patient had asked to be released so she could walk home. Gandotra’s attorney said, “We don’t believe this was below the standard of care nor do we believe it was malpractice.” Despite these claims, the abortion facility was shut down.
If this was Gandotra’s idea of the standard of care for “safe and legal” abortion, what would he have to had done to a client for him to admit malpractice?
