Gathering Side story: Overwhelming stampede
Tumblr media
Author's Note: when I started this series it was all vibes and now that it some somewhat coherent a character who got pushed to the wayside was Dino. Which sucks because he's a lot more interesting to write for me than the others. However, at times his powers were tied to Dinosaurs and the toku inspiration I did with his powers seemed incongruent with the tone I was trying to go for. which made writing him harder and harder as I wanted it to gather to be more introspective, but for side stories I can do whatever I want. Dino for me was always a mix of Hayato and Eji from Kamen Rider. Z from Ultaman Z a little bit of Gambit/Deadpool (Comic Deadpool) from X-men, and my personality. As you will see by his slightly changed powers. Whereas TJ was always meant to be more Takeshi, Ren (Ryuki) from Kamen Rider and Cable/Wolverine from X-men, and Max McDaniels from the Tapestry series by Henry H. Neff … (please read it if you haven't.) So this is meant as a mini-story that gives him space to be as crazy and outlandish as possible so for all of my long-time readers here is Dino restored in all his over-the-top Toku temur comic(y) glory.
You know who we should call to fill our game...," Sakura starts before pausing dramatically to Connor and Yunjin. Yunjin and Connor stare at the young woman pensively, before she makes her suggestion.
"Cival," Sakura said suggesting me to her group of friends. Connor and Yunjin look at her wary as the last time they saw me, I was (successfully) trying not to freak out as Sakura let me down easily by telling me that she was a lesbian. Yunjin however saw the excitement on Kkura’s face and ran with it.
"You know what? it's been a while since we've seen the madman and even longer since we have played with him. let's see what he's got?" Yunjin says exuberantly. This leads to them calling me. well, Sakura calling me.
"Yo Kkura what's up?" I ask
"Oh great answered you answered Civy. we need a fourth for our commander game. You down?" Sakura said
"What about Dexter he's usually y'all's resident Temur player," I asked confused
"He's exploring Naya so currently we need an Unhinged Calm Man." Sakura teases
" So you are telling me that Dexter Mr "Yeah I am so Ketria" is trying the shard I told him he would like, and best suit him? Wow, I'm surprised; not really of course, but you thought of me in his stead...well...I am touched. Okay, I'll be there in a bit. Does it need to be a Temur deck or can it be something else?" I respond
"Yes. We are playing our wedges and shards so you need to as well." Yunjin insists in the background
"Okay, Kkura." I groan. I end the phone call. I finish my in-n-out order adding them to it. After getting the food I teleport to Le Sserafim's dorm. the popping noise that accompanied it jolted the people present.
"Yah Cival-oppa you just can't pop in on us like that," Yunjin says holding her heart
"But I have food," I say as I hold the in-n-out bag with their food. Kkura and Yunjin smile. Connor groans.
"Ah no shake shack," he says disappointed
"Hey, when you're willing to pay for it I will pick it up for you all you want. In n Out is cheap and delicious so don't complain. " I say to him.
I hand Kkura her strawberry shake, Yunjin her vanilla, and Connor his chocolate one.
"Oh, you remembered our orders," Yunjin says elated
"Of course. yall are still my friends." I reply
Sakura looks at me guilty and says, "Sorry for forgetting about you Civy."
"It's no big deal. I couldn't afford to move to Korea, and you guys moved on. No hard feelings. the only hard feelings I have are for Dexter. I mean how did he of all people get Eunbi freaking Kwon?" I joke which gets the laugh I was kinda fishing for with Yunjin, Connor, and Sakura.
"So how have you been Civy?" Sakura asks
"Ah, you know same old, same old. fighting monsters taking pictures writing stories.. I reply
"Oh, how are you adjusting?" Connor asks
"Ehh, it's fine. It feels scummy at times but it's a job someone has to do" I answer
"Yeah, it can be weird," Connor says and leaves it at that.
I stayed silent about Voruna and her training me because last I heard Connor and her had a falling out
"So Cival" Yunjin says in a tone and a shoulder shake that lets me know I am not going to really *appreciate* what she says next, "Meet anyone "Lovely?" I groan and reply
"No Jen. I am still a single pringle although I am less ready to mingle." I reply. Sakura looks dejected hearing that.
"I am sorry," Sakura says as she takes a dejected sip of her shake.
I turn to Kkura look her in her eyes and say, "Look Kkura, I don't want this to be awkward. You are fantastic and while I believe we would have made an excellent power couple I understand that your heart is elsewhere, and honestly good for you Siyeon is such a hottie I mean sheesh." Kkura finally cheers up and Yunjin just has to sour the mood.
"See this is why we need you Cival around more. You are the best hype man and Cheerleader." Yunjin exclaims.
"I have been told I am good in limited amounts so that's why I stay in the background," I say before taking a bite of my burger and some fries. Kkura and Yunjin laugh.
"So Madman what crazy build are you on now?" Connor asks
"Borb and Phb food chain, but casual. I have a Thrasios Krark deck in the works but it needs time to bake. Or maybe I should just switch it to Jeska Thrasios." I answer as I ponder my next higher-power deck.
"Is it your definition of casual?" Yunjin asks me pointing. I nod which makes her bring out her "Big Guns"
"Oh, Kaalia my favorite," I say sarcastically. Sakura laughs and pulls out her equally menacing. Simmone and Dina deck. I face her and she points to Yunjin. This leads to Connor bringing out Narset Enlightened Exile.
“Narset!” I point out exaggerated “bleugh now I have to play mean.” I tease
Yunjin smirks before saying, “Cival you always play mean.”
I laugh and give a hyperbolic groan before taking out my deck. Sakura grabs my commander and reads it “Oh I like it.” she says. As we get ready for the game Kazuha walks in and smiles when she sees me.
“Oh hi Percival long time no see,” she said as she walked over to hug me. We hug and I say
“Yeah well, your friends called me up to beat them and I couldn't say no.” I relate to Kazuha. She laughs as she steals a couple of fries “Eh? How rude!” I scoff feigning disapproval while Kazuha just rolls her eyes as she walks out. I turn to face my opponents who laugh.
“I forgot how friendly you were,” Kkura says.
I shrug and say, “Yep friendly and ferocious like a bake kujira.”
Yunjin rolls her eyes before saying, “Ugh you and those yokai.” I shrug her off as we start. I mulligan down to four and then we begin. Sakura opens up with turn one lotus petal and goth Triome. Yunjin starts the game with land, a “Sol ring” and a “talisman of conviction”
“Wow, an overloaded vandal blast or cyclonic rift would be so good here.” I joked and the look I got from the table was hilarious. So I just played a land and mystic remora.
“Civil please don't scare us like that,” Connor whined
“Well gotta keep you on your toes because I know y'all get complacent and that's when bad things happen,” I respond. Curious as to where my replacement was I asked “So where is the big man?”
“Oh, he and Eunbi are working. He's filming a bunch of videos for her new mini album.” Sakura answers
I nod and smile as I say, “You know what…good for him.”
The next turn Sakura plays an arbor elf and an overgrown tomb. Yunjin gets more ramp for her commander plus another land, and Connor plays an esper Sentinel and arid mesa. On my next turn, I play commander and I pay for remora having played another land. To play my commander I needed to use the Jeweled lotus, lotus petal, and rejuvenating springs to play Borb and Phb. On his ETB Sakura flashes in orchish bow masters and kills Esper Sentinel. I chuckle and pass. The door opens and Chaewon drudges in along with Eunchae. I turn around and I see Chaewon and Eunchae make the visible connection.
“Percy!,” the two girls yell excitedly. I groan and stand up as the two race over to hug me.
“How are my two favorite Chaes?” I ask
Chaewon holds me tighter while Eunchae says, “Oppa please bully Kkura unnie and Yunjin unnie they have been teasing me and calling me baby all the time.” Eunchae lamented
I turn to my friends who look at me in terror. I shrug and say, “I have to win now.” they look at me in abject terror as I hear both Chaes laugh maniacally in the background.
Chaewon smiles as she and Eunchae break the hug and say something in Korean I couldn't pick up (because it was too fast) all I got was Astrid Wesker.
“Hold up Astrid who?” I asked
“Astrid Wesker.,” Yunjin said confused.
I turned to Connor who read my confused expression and said “The Weskers are cool now. They have done their time and are repentant.,” My eyes widen as I get back to the game it's my turn and I swing my commander at Sakura. She takes six which leaves her almost out of ad nauseam range. On Yunjin’s turn, I exile Kaalia in response to her equipping a swift foot boots to it. This leaves me open to using counterspell on Narset the next turn. On my next turn I swing at Sakura again leaving her completely out of naus range which gives me space to breathe I play a Ragavan and another land as well as paying for mystic remora and pass. Sakura biting the bullet destroys mystic remora. I shrug and make sure to kill Kaalia, and Narset again. Sakura is missing land drops Simone and Dina aren't opposed to me, and the other two decks are so commander-reliant that facing them equated to don't let the commanders resolve. which I told them, and now they're realizing it firsthand. This beatdown goes on for three more turns before I just draw into the food chain and hit draw my deck before casting Laboratory Maniac. Only for Yunjin to have me lose the game by killing it with Esper Sentinel, with a little help from Kkura and Connor. Instead of casting the breach that was in my hand and brain-freezing them to death. I let them have their pyrhic victory, which of course leads to Narset winning because Narset is good at punishing health totals. After the game Yunjin winces.
Connor laughs at Yunjin's expression then turns to me and says, "Dang Cival back at it again with the big beaters." I shrug and tell them that play better which gets a laugh out of Kkura and Connor Yunjin just scowls then joins in.
Cut to 45 minutes later the girls had just finished getting ready and looked like they were about to head out, "So, what's next?" I ask hoping to tag along like old times.
"Well, we gotta go to Astrid's office. you can come if you want." Connor suggests.
"Ah, I don't know," I replied still reluctant because of Weskers being well Weskers.
"There will be pretty girls there," Sakura said
"I'm there," I responded without hesitation. I didn't come off my adrenaline high until we were outside her office and thought this would be a bad idea. I debate whether this is a good idea but I remember that I have no self-control around pretty girls. So here I was walking into the intimidating gray building with the only thought being "Oh God why am I here"
"Oh hey, Muffins," I say out loud as I walk over to the bakery. The lady working the counter is super nice and knows English which makes my attempts at broken Korean invalidated. Admirable but invalidated nonetheless. I pay for my blueberry Muffins (Because they are top-tier) and begin to eat them. As I walk back into the Lobby I look to see several men with guns pointed at my friends
"I take it you're not security are you," I ask. One of the men angrily gestures at me and yells in Korean. I groan as I can only really make out "That black guy." I finish my muffin and outstretch my hand. when I bring it back to my face I am surprised to see Destroyor. I shrug and slot it into my Riser. I transform in a flash of colors before my Destroyer armor comes on. The guys shout more Korean before shooting me. I sigh as the bullets melt before they can reach me.
"You'd think that they would see the transformation and ponder. Hey, maybe we shouldn't fight the one who just did that." I lamented as I summoned My Lava Lance. I ran to the nearest man in the suit and slashed at him he fell to the ground with a searing wound. I charged to the next one who was still reloading, and slashed at him as well. I turn to the last few who look at me confused. I lift the Lance and spin Lash letting the lava spread all over them. After they were handled The elevator opened and I could hear a high-pitched voice say
"Well it's about time you apologized TJ." I am shocked to see a young lady who bears an uncanny resemblance to Ada Wong, and to her left a tiny blonde woman who is following her.
"You're not TJ. you're much too colorful and vibrant." The not Ada said.
I deactivated my armor and replied, "Sorry to disappoint but I did just help you I think."
"Yes, you did a fine job. Do you want a medal?” the not Ada says sarcastically. I look at her confused before she apologizes and says, “Sorry it's just usually my person who handles this is not here..." The not Ada trailed off.
"You must be Astrid Wesker. I am..." I started but was cut off by the blonde woman
"Percival you are a nexo from southern California, and friends of Connor, dexter, and le Sserafim." The blonde woman says bluntly in her high-pitched voice
"That's not creepy at all." I sigh. "Well, I should probably get going. This was not enough excitement for me, and I am growing bored with this conversation." I say feeling uncomfortable.
"No, since you're here and a powerhouse maybe you can help me," Astrid said not taking the least subtle hint I could give. "I'll pay you good money too."
"Oh well, That works," I say as I follow The two ladies into the Elevator along with Connor, Sakura, and Yunjin. The ride is awkward.
"That's quite some psionic power you've got there Percival how does it work?"
I turn to Emma confused, "So you know who I am but not how my power works." I exclaim
"I can't be bothered to learn every Nexogebics power, especially one so extravagant as you," she said exacerbated
"Your tone indicated that was supposed to be insulting, however, I am choosing to take it as a compliment. To answer your question since you are too lazy to do basic research my power is channeling Primal Elements that have combined with spirits to make armor, and weapons and increase my abilities. I also have some legendary forms based around mythical creatures but if I use those forms my opponent is trouble," I explained, like she was five but hey this blonde lady lost her right to complain when she insulted me. we get to the penthouse overlooking the massive view of the city and we all sit down.
"So how much money are we talking for helping you, and what would I be doing for it?" I ask Astrid excited
"Well you'd be head of Supernatural security for the event and making sure no one gets any ideas. As for payment how does 21k sound for the three weeks of filming and an additional 9k for the preproduction, and POS production (flights travel, etc.)? Also, there is a chance for a bonus if you intermingle with the girls seamlessly to not cause us fuss but that will be based on your performance." Astrid says
"That's tempting, but can I ask why you're not asking your last guy to do this," I ask
"He and I had a falling out of sorts. He didn't like changes in my personal life, and so I made an excision." Astrid says with an extremely rigid tone
I sigh and say, "Fine deal but based on the way you said all of that weird stuff you should just apologize." I reply
"Wait why?" Astrid asks
"Your diction about the whole thing was weird which to me implies you were close and you're trying to use weird jargon to not fall apart about it. So, my take is you should reach out, and see if he is willing to help you." I reply
Astrid looks at me with Narrow eyes, before saying "You are extremely presumptuous you know that right?"
"Okay and. I am just calling it as I see it. you don't get a lot of friends in your life. Especially long ones so keep them close and keep them happy. You'll live longer that way." I said annoyed. The room was silent except for Sakura who was laughing.
"How is he worse than TJ." I heard Emma whisper as the meeting ended as we all discussed setup and various emergency plans.
I turn to her and say, "I don't believe in obstruction of my path I walk forward. Based on your interactions it sounds like TJ plays the game more, " With that I exit the office. the smell of the two ladies competing perfumes made me irritated. As I wait for the elevator I hear a voice I don't recognize. I turn to see an absolute bombshell of a young lady walk to me.
"Oh thank you." the young woman says. her blonde bounces around her neck in cascading waves of gold. to distract myself and not be caught staring I pointed to Sakura and company who were close behind.
"I was waiting for them but you are welcome....um what's your name?"I ask
"Oh, Ahin." the young lady says with a smile.
"Oh like the Momoland Member," I say. the girl chuckles and then looks at me with sparkling eyes.
"Yes that's me she says." my eyes widened at that because my limited recollection of Ahin had more in line with the girl next door and not a vivacious vixen.
"You seem surprised."
"Well, the last time I heard or saw Momoland y'all were cuter...not...this( I say gesturing to her.)
"Do you not like all of this?" Ahin questioned as she gestured to all of her actively alluring curves. I sense the game she's playing but I am too stupid to play.
So my response is not the most Euridite, "Look I wasn't expecting you to be an absolute smoke show or babe okay." I sputter out.
Yunjin, and Connor both laugh at my crash and burn while Ahin just smiles and says, "So you think I am pretty like this."
I turn around confused before replying, "Yeah absolutely." before I can make a further fool of myself the elevator opens and my friends drag me out of the Elevator, but not before Ahin gets my number to all our surprise.
we get back in Connor's car and Yunjin says, "Huh would have never thought she'd be into a black guy." Sakura and Connor look at her wonky. She's from the east coast so I just expect outta line stuff from her. We get back to the apartment when I get a call from an unknown number.
“Hi Ho it's Cival.” I greet
“Hey Cival it’s Ahin wanna come to
A party with me?” the other voice asks. I remain silent for a moment most parties bore me as they only really lead to debauchery and not much else.
“Come on it will be fun. Plus I'll make it worth your while,” Ahin says
“Deal,” I say with no hesitation. I could almost hear Ahin smile over the phone.
“Perfect” the young lady on the other phone purrs. “Send me your address and I'll pick you up in 15 minutes,” Ahin says giddily.
“Okay,” I reply.
Sakura smirks after the call ends at me. I shrug
“Oh does little Civy have a date?” Yunjin teases.
“Kkura I'm still older than you, but no Ahin wants me to probably be her “guard dog at a party.”
“Why do you say that? She was totally into you earlier today” Yunjin laughs.
“Well, little sis I read her body language and it was less. Oh, he's cute and more hmm he's built menacingly but is an awkward dork. Which is the same look Astrid gave me when she saw me after the fight. So based on that and other previous experiences, she's going to use me as her guard dog.”
“So why did you say yes?” Connor asks confused.
“Either there's going to be pretty girls, Food, or Excitement that I don't have to pay for. all I have to do is play the lost puppy role it's a win-win.” I elaborate
Yunjin’s eyes narrow before she says, “I can't tell if that is insanely smart or insanely dumb.”
“It's probably both,” I reply before taking a quick nap.
I wake up to my phone going off and I go down to the apartment lobby to meet Ahin. Upon entering the car I see Ahin is with a guy. The way they're attached makes me assume they are together (or en route to it) I sit in the back and the man who looks about Connor or Siyeon’s age says, “he looks a lot less goofy than you said earlier Ahin.”
Ahin looks back at me. I smile and wave hiding my confusion.
“Will there be food at this party by chance I'm starving?” I ask
The man nods and chuckles “Yes but you're going to need a suit for this party though. I nod and teleport back to my apartment to get the suit, shave, shower, etc, and put the suit on before I teleport back to the car to both of my companion's surprise.
“Neat trick,” Ahin says with a smirk. I chuckle and as we drive a bit more
Ahin noticed I was fidgeting with something and turned back to me
“Nervous," she says with a head tilt that is somewhere between flirty and friendly
I nod lightly, Ahin smiles pleasantly and reaches out her hand. I take it. "it will be fine. You will fit in, and if not you can just teleport out of there."
"You're right," I said which made Ahin smile. She took her hand back as she sat forward and she took my card.
Ahin looks at the card confused, and says as she turns back"Imperial Mega Dragon. Is this a part of a game or toy?"
"Not exactly" I respond and before she can ask more questions we arrive at the party which turns out to be more of a gala/ball. I walk in with Ahin, and her significant other and they guide me to… I squint and see that it's Kim Lip of ARTMS. Kim lip looks at me shyly but Ahin consoles her.
“See Lippie told you I'd find a nice piece of arm candy for you tonight,” Ahin says with reckless energy
“He is also foreign so he can't bore you too much.” I notice Ahin whisper before turning back to me and her date waving at the two of us. we follow the girls in. Kim Lip and I look at each other. As a fan of Loona, I knew that she spoke a lot through nonverbal communication. So it made sense that when I saw her stealing glances at me they were often accompanied by questioning looks.
“Aye don't worry it will be fine,” I tell her.

The Photo Shoot
Tumblr media
Pretty safe for work tickling story. Ended up a bit longer than I expected, but what can you do?
------
Ryan always knew he was going to make it big.  Ever since he was in high school he’d always gotten the lead parts in the school plays, and now that he was in university he was showing success in independent student productions.  Of course he didn’t make any money off of any of those, and tuition for his school was expensive, which meant he had to work and had thousands in student loans to look forward to once he was done.  He took this all in stride since he knew there was a pot of gold at the end of this very expensive rainbow.
One thing Ryan knew he needed if he was going to continue trying to be an actor was to get some professional pictures taken for auditions.  So far he’d gotten free head shots taken by photography students.  The problem is you get what you pay for, and some of the shots were clearly student work.
Luckily for Ryan, there were other photographers in town who were willing to work with students to get them some professional shots at a reduced rate.  After a few days of searching, Ryan came across a photographer named Jay.  He liked what he saw on Jay’s website (and liked his student discount even more) so he made an appointment to meet him.  The two met for a consultation and Ryan booked a time slot to come to Jay’s studio.
On the day of the shoot, Jay brought several pairs of clothes to wear.  Something formal, something casual, some streetwear, etc.  When it came to the casual look, Jay instructed Ryan to take off his shoes and socks.
“Take them off?  Why?”
“Shows vulnerability.  Most people don’t show their feet at all, so it exposes a little bit more of you.”
Ryan wasn’t entirely convinced, but he still pulled off his shoes and socks and continued with the session.
It may have been his imagination, but Ryan felt that Jay kept glancing down at his bare feet.  It wasn’t super obvious, and as far as Ryan could tell his feet were never the focus of any shots, but Jay’s eyes kept trailing down to them.  Strange, yes, but Ryan didn’t want to cause a scene when he felt there was so much on the line.
Finally, with that last shot, they were done.
“Alright Ryan, that just about wraps it up.  I think we got some good shots, but it will take me a few days to go through and clean them up.”
“Wow, alright, thanks.  I’m looking forward to it.  Can’t wait to see how they turn out.”
Ryan started to put his socks back on.
“Hey, kid, before you go any further, I have a business proposition for you.  That is, if you’re looking to make a few bucks.”
Ryan stopped and looked over at the photographer.  Extra money was never a bad thing.
“I mean, money is money, I guess.  What are you looking for?  This isn’t something dirty, is it?  Because I’m not taking off my clothes.”
“Don’t worry, you’re already as undressed as you’d need to be.  I just want to make a little video to post on my website.”
Ryan’s eyes narrowed.
“I’ve seen your website.  You don’t have videos.”
The photographer gave a large toothy grin.
“Not that website, a different one.  Here, come and take a look.”
Jay motioned for Ryan to follow him to the back of the studio where he had a large computer setup.  Camera equipment and props were everywhere.
“Alright, just better not be anything too freaky.”
Ryan walked over to the far end of Jay’s studio on bare feet.  When he got to the computer he was shocked by what he saw on the screen.
“Are those guys getting… tickled?”
Jay nodded and scrolled down the page a bit, showing Ryan more videos.  Each one showed a young man (around Ryan’s age) being tickled.  Some were tied up, some had their feet in stocks, and some just had their ankles being held down.  Most were dressed like Ryan (which is to say fully dressed except for the shoes and socks), but others were in various states of undress.  No one looked naked, though.
“Yup.  Tickling sells well, you know.  Lots of guys, and hell, women too, love seeing guys getting tickled.  And it pays.”
Ryan’s ears perked up.
“People are willing to pay?”
“Oh sure.  People are willing to pay for these videos if the model is cute and ticklish enough.  And I have to say kid, you’re the exact type of guy they like to see.”
Ryan didn’t have much to say.  His eyes stayed glued to the screen.
“I’ll make you a deal.  You let me tickle you a little bit, just your feet so you don’t have to take anything else off, and not only will I not charge you for the shots, but I’ll actually give you a bit of what the video makes.  What do you say?”
Ryan wanted to say no right away, but he hesitated.  Not only would he get his shots for free, but he’d also get some cash for it, too?  It seemed too good to be true.
“I mean… alright.  I guess.  As long as this is just tickling.  I’m not doing anything else.”
“Alright, sounds good.  And don’t worry, all I do is tickle guys, nothing else.”
Jay explained what would happen: Ryan would lay face down on a couch in the studio, so no one could see his face, and hang his bare feet over the side of the couch.  Jay would sit on his legs and tickle his feet.  It sounded easy enough.  Ryan lay down, letting Jay move his body a little bit for the camera, and let himself relax (as much as he could).  Once he was in place, Jay set up the camera and started recording.
Ryan was laying down on his stomach, bare feet on the arm of the couch, when he felt Jay straddle his ankles.
“Alright folks, this is our new tickle toy Brad.  This is his first time with us, so let’s see how ticklish he is.”
Ryan (apparently going by the name Brad) tensed his whole body, waiting for whatever was supposed to come.  Suddenly, he felt one finger on his right sole.  It started up near his heel and trailed down towards his toes.  Ryan flexed and curled his foot at the light ticklish sensation.  No one had ever touched his feet (not that he could remember, anyways) so it was a strange feeling.  The finger repeated the same movement on his left sole.  This time Ryan wiggled a little bit under Jay, his foot waving side to side.
“Got some squirming going on it looks like.  Let’s try something a little more ticklish”
One finger, one at a time, on each sole was suddenly replaced with five fingers on each sole.  Those fingers dug into the insteps of his feet, scratching the soft sensitive skin there.  Ryan jumped (though stayed pinned down by Jay’s weight) and started to kick his feet.
“Oh shit, what the fuck?!”
“Oh yeah, we got a ticklish one here.”
The fingers really worked their way in there, kneading the flesh of his feet.  Ryan kept trying to kick those tickling fingers away, but Jay’s grip was just too strong.  There was nothing that Ryan could do to make it stop.  He could, of course, always say stop, but then he’d have to pay for his headshots.  That was a huge motivation to stay here on the couch.
Several minutes after just assaulting the center of his feet, the hands started roaming over the real estate that was Ryan’s soft size 12 soles.  The fingers came up to Ryan’s heels and attacked.  Ryan jumped, and was suddenly barking out with laughter when Jay found an especially ticklish spot: the part of his sole right before his heel.
“Oh, sounds like we got a live one here!”
“NOO!  PLEEEEASE!”
Fingers descended on that spot on each foot.  It wasn’t just fingers working their way into the foot, but now nails were scraping and scratching too.  The only thing Ryan’s over stimulated mind could think of was that this was like ringing a doorbell.  It was loud, it was intense, and it was beyond annoying that Jay found this spot that reduced him to a laughing mess.
“Holy crap is he sensitive right here.  How are you doing Brad?  Want me to stop?”
“Y-Y-YES PL-PL-PLEEEEASE!”
“No?  You’re all good?  Sounds great to me!”
“NOOO!”
Jay continued to exploit the sensitive spot, attacking viciously with his fingers.  Ryan was sure he was going to pass out when the tickling mercifully ended.
“Th-thank God…”
“He thought that was bad, wait till he gets a load of this…”
“Wait, what?!”
“Here comes the brush!”
Ryan’s entire body jolted when a broad hairbrush started attacking that same sensitive spot.  The brush moved violently back and forth with cruel abandon.  This was the worst feeling yet.  Ryan was in absolute hysterics, thrashing as much as he could, trying to buck Jay off his legs.  His feet kicked and squirmed to get away, one foot trying to cover the other for protection.  His face and throat were starting to get sore from the laughter.
“Oh yeah, we got him right here.”
Not even able to say anything, Ryan continued to cackle.  The brush alternated between feet, and each time it switched feet it was like the first time all over again.  Tears were starting to stream from his tightly shut eyes.  This was the first time he truly regretted his decision, and despite the promise of free shots and money, he found the urge to call out stop was right on the tip of his tongue.  He bit it back though, he wasn’t going to give up.
The tickling changed, and now the brush was going up and down his soles.  Again, Ryan tried curling his foot up to avoid the tickling, but Jay grabbed Ryan’s toes and flexed them back, stretching his sole out.  Jay’s grip was too strong and Ryan wasn’t able to escape.  He laughed and giggled, unable to stop as the brush scrubbed up and down his flexed sole.  People got off on this?  Ryan figured they must all be sadists.
“Let’s see how ticklish Brad’s toes are.”
The brush stopped for just a second (giving Ryan exactly one second of peace) before attacking the toes that Jay was holding back.  Oh god.  This was bad.  This was worse than the spot hear his heels.  This was like fire.  Ryan didn’t just laugh, he was screaming.  Tears were flowing so freely that he could taste them on his lips.  He wanted to yell stop, he wanted this tickling to end, but he couldn’t form the words.
Jay continued tickling those toes, holding them tightly, even as the feet started to become slick with sweat.  This of course made the brush slide and glide all the more easily.  The brush scrubbed the tips of the toes all the way down to the sensitive little gap under each toe.
The tickling continued for a few minutes until finally, mercifully, it stopped.
“There we go, that was Brad.  I think he did pretty well.  Let me know if you want to see more of this boy.”
Jay concluded by slapping both of Ryan’s sensitive soles, making him jump and squeak.
Jay got up off of Ryan and turned off the camera.
“There we go kid, that’s it.  You did good, I have to say, I think you’re going to be pretty popular.”
“Holy shit that was bad.  Like… holy shit.  You were torturing me.”
Jay laughed.
“That’s why they call it tickle torture.  People love it.”
Ryan didn’t want to stick around much longer.  He got up off the couch (his clothes were sticking to his body from all the sweat), put his shoes and socks back on (which was hard since his feet were so sensitive after the tickling), thanked Jay and left.
Several days later two things dropped in Ryan’s email.  The first was a set of edited photographs.  Ryan was happy to see that they looked professional and much better than any of the student work he’d had done so far.  The second was much more interesting.  It was an e-transfer for a couple of hundred dollars.
Ryan stared at the screen for a few minutes before he decided to call Jay.
“Hello?”
“Hey man, It’s Ryan.  Thanks for the pictures, I just got them.  They’re really good”
“No worries, I’m happy you’re happy.”
“So… what was the money you sent?”
“I told you that you’d get a bit of the money from the tickle video.  It was pretty popular right off the bat, so that’s your share.”
“All that for just letting you tickle my feet?”
“Oh yeah.  And if you’re ever interested we could do it again.  You could maybe even make some more next time.”
“Like… how much more?”
“Depends on how far you’re willing to go.  There’s some bondage, there’s some upper body tickling, there’s even some foot worship and tickling that drives some people wild.  You interested?”
Ryan looked at the e-transfer again.
“Yeah, maybe.  Tell me more.”

BEAT AITSF thoughts (and spoilers obvs!) under hte cut
overall v enjoyable!!!! i thought it was both very zany and very well done as a mystery, which is to say that there was a fuckton of absolutely fucking insane shit that was still foreshadowed to the point i guessed date was in someone else’s body VERY early on LOLOLOL i actually guessed quite a few twists (iris being deathly ill, date was falco before etc) but it was still v satisfying to see them unfold and there was enough batshit Uchikoshi Fuckery (tm) to make it v fun!!!!
mizuki was my fave character by quite a lot LOL her route was probably my fave. her somnium w/date ;___; i liked iris and date’s dynamic but i wasnt super big on her as a Character if that makes sense ghlkashglkhs felt too hard like she was meant to be Loveable and that ended up turning me off her LKGHLSKHDGLKHSGD extremely funny bc in retrospect i realized the times i liked her best were when. she wasnt even iris but was saito in iris’s body GLKHALKSHGLKASHG SORRY IRIS
ota i kind of wanted to grab by the neck and shake. multiple times. actually thinking abt this i kind of still want to which is ironic bc one of the three times i cried was his route (his moms somnium) MAYUMISAN TRIES SO HARD FOR U BRO............. BRO........................ the other two times i cried were a) mizuki route (a lot) and b) tadaima/okaeri aiba/date LOL
aiba/date in general........... was really good i love bodysharing i love ppl being idiots together i like how she both gave him shit and played along w/whatever dumb shit was coming out of his mouth it was so good. when magnemite combines to form magneton their brains combine but They Don’t Get Any Smarter. VERY good dynamic i like them a lot
tbh a lot of the characters were most appealing ot me in Dynamics rather than individually. aiba/date duo peak iris+date duo peak ota+saito as iris duo. Peak. Very Peak. Wait I’m Having A Horrible Idea, Sorry For This Dead Dove I Might Write. speaking of dead doves what the fuck pewter and okiura were boyfriends........ the subtlety of it was Good also wtf i was upset abt the watch stuff HE GOT SO UPSET BC IT WAS A GIFT FROM.............. PEWTER HIS GAY BOYFRIEND IM SO MAD ABT HOW MUCH I LIKE THIS
uhhhhh other things i wanted to talk abt. i think overall the theming of eyes was very well done it tied everything up very nicely. the fact that the psync machine was based on the eye of horus was a nice touch that really brought a lot of the mythology etc stuff into line. good shit
localization was also v well done i was listening to the a-set fanchant lines in jpns and i was like. Wow This Must’ve Been Hell To Translate. in general it was good tho.......... some parts were a little awkward but c’est la vie. a-set being translated to tesa instead of asettonchan makes sense but that was the one that kept bugging me when i heard it I GET WHY BUT
anyways. good game i will buy nirvana initiative when its no longer full price probably. i dont think i will go back and 100% it when i also just bought disco and also might snag triangle strategy over summer break but we shall see...... u never know where life leads u

“Beach!” Toga yelled, “we’re going to the beach!”
She ran up to you and hugged you.
“Y/n we’re going to the beach!” she said, grinning up at you.
“We are, ” you nodded, ruffling her hair.
She ran over to Shigaraki, “come to the beach with us, Shiggy, ”
“No, ” he said, looking back at his game.
“Please, everyone is going, ” she pouted, “even y/n is coming, ”
A vision of you in a bathing suit flashed in front of his eyes. He imagined you putting on sunscreen and laying on your stomach on the beach, accidentally spilling water on your chest and your nipples perking up because of how cold you were out of the water.
“Fine, ” he said.
Toga squealed and hugged him.
“Oh- hey, what the hell?” he said, pushing her off, “don’t do that toga,”
She moved on to her next victim, “Dabi, go to the beach with us!”
“Who’s coming?” he asked, lighting a cigarette.
“I got everyone to go, ” she bragged.
“Wow, kid, everyone? Even y/n?” he asked.
Toga nodded frantically, proud of her achievement.
“God job, I’ll go, ” he smirked, “plus i’ll get to see y/n in a bathing suit, ”
You walked by and flicked his forehead, “eyes to yourself, bacon bits, ”
“God, babe, I love your little pet names for me, ” he teased.
Shigaraki glared at him, but you were already halfway up the stairs.
“Don’t look at me like that, ” he said, looking at Shigaraki, “we’re both going for the same reason, ”
“No, ” he denied, “I’m going because it's summer, and when it’s summer, you go to the beach, ”
Dabi rolled his eyes, “whatever you say, boss, ”
“Shiggy!” Toga yelled, “go get ready. We’re leaving, ”
He stood in his room staring at his swim shorts. He knew he’d have to wear them, and he could just put a shirt on too. He didn’t have to swim. He could just leave the shirt on. It would be fine. He really didn’t have a chance with you, but if you saw him without a shirt, you’d be disgusted. He felt disgusting.
You pulled out a bikini Toga forced you to buy and flopped down on the bed. Shigaraki was coming, which meant you were gonna get to see him without a shirt. You blushed and giggled, already daydreaming about him. Even though it was wrong, even though he was your boss, you just couldn't help it. You were one-hundred percent certain you were going to melt when you saw him. Toga had always said he had a crush on you. Maybe he would finally make a move. That was the plan anyways. The whole reason Toga had bugged everyone to go was by your request.
With your bag packed and swimsuit on under your clothes, you were ready to go. Shigaraki wanted to cry when he looked in the mirror. Maybe this was a bad idea, maybe he shouldn't go. He heard a knock on his door.
“Hey, we’re about to leave. Are you ready?” You asked, “if not, I'll wait with you, so you dont have to go down by yourself. I hate being the last person ready. I don't want you to go through that pain, ” you laughed.
“No, I'm ready, ” he said, opening the door. No turning back now.
“Alright, let's go, ” you said, already walking downstairs.
He tried to calm himself as he walked down, trying to stop the grin that wanted to spread across his face. Finally, he thought, what was y/n hiding all this time? He was last to go through the warp gate, upset that you had already runoff. He waited around, nearly sweating to death until he heard Dabi yell.
“C’mon y/n, give us a little spin, ” he yelled.
He saw you blast him with sand using your quirk. He chuckled at Dabi’s predicament. You screamed as Dabi jumped in, splashing you with water. He picked you up in his arms only to throw you back in the water. You came up for air and splashed him again. Your splash war continued for some time, providing Tomura with entertainment until, ultimately, you called it a draw. He watched you and Toga play mermaids for a while before he grew bored and continued with his game, that was until Dabi wolf-whistled and he saw you begin to walk out of the water. You used your quirk again, sending a small tidal wave towards him.
“Youre so mean to me y/n, ” he complained.
“Shut it, patchwork, ” you said.
“Stop you're giving me butterflies, ” he smirked, getting splashed again.
You started walking again, the water slowly getting shallower and revealing more of your body. You were glistening, the sun reflecting off the water on your skin. Your cheeks were red from the sun, and he realized you had put sunscreen on in your room. Damn it. You brushed some wet hair out of your face, and your chest was now entirely on display.
“Fuck, ” he whispered.
He tried to be discrete, and the sun shining directly in your eyes certainly helped him. He stared at your stomach, the next part of your body to reveal itself. All he could think about is tracing little designs on it, laying his head on it, and putting a baby in it. Your thighs were an absolute show stopper. He wanted to suffocate between them. He averted his eyes when he realized you were walking over to him.
“Hey, can I sit here?” you asked, wringing out your hair.
“S-sure, ” he said, trying to focus on your face, which was definitely beautiful but...boobs lol.
“Thanks, ” you said, “I’d rather sit with you than all of them. I love Toga, but she’s a handful, and everyone else is staring at me. Bunch of creeps, ”
“Sorry about them, ” he said, unable to stop his wandering eyes.
“It’s ok. Nothing you can do, Shiggy, ” you said, “oh my god, you’re bright red. Did you forget sunscreen? It’s ok. I've got some, but you’re on the paler side, so you've gotta be careful, Shig, or you’ll burn up, ”
The redness on his face was because you were sitting next to him, nearly naked, but he wasn't going to admit that, especially when he saw you bend over to get sunscreen. He was trying desperately to control himself, but part of him had a mind of its own. He nearly died when you leaned in and put sunscreen on his face, laughing as you put a glob on his nose. He let out a genuine laugh that warmed your heart. You started talking, but honestly, he couldn't listen. You were very expressive when you spoke, and all the movement caused your tits to bounce, mesmerizing him.
He could only half listen, nodding and ‘mhm’ing when appropriate. You noticed quickly and gave him a few minutes to redeem himself but he failed. You grabbed his chin and made his eyes meet yours.
“Tomura Shigaraki, we're you staring at my boobs?” you said, feigning disappointment.
“N-no, I wasn't, ” he said.
You sighed, “lying about it only makes it worse, ”
“I'm sorry, ” he whispered, “I know I shouldn't have. I just...”
You let go of his chin and looked down at his lap.
“Really?” you asked, pointing out his obvious boner.
“Shit, I'm sorry y/n I'm so sorry. I know I'm gross and awful, and I'm just so sorry, ” he said, trying to cover it.
You grabbed his arm and dragged him away to the deserted changing rooms. Originally this beach was supposed to be a hot spot for tourists, but the water park a few miles closer to the city shut it down, leaving the beach in good condition. He braced himself for a slap, a punch, a kick, but he never could've prepared himself for a kiss on the cheek.
“I've been thinking about this for a while, Shigaraki, ” you whispered, “thinking about all the things I'd do to you, all the ways I'd make you feel good. Did you know I can block skin-to-skin quirks? You can touch me, baby, ”
“Y-you're not mad?” he whispered.
“No, I'm not mad, ” you shook your head, “I've always had a little crush on you Shiggy, ”
“Tomura, ” he corrected, “call me Tomura, ”
“Tomura, ” you whispered, “I can't wait to touch you. Fuck, I'm gonna kiss you all over. I can't wait to get between your thighs, baby. We've got all day, ”
He kissed you softly, enjoying your lips. They were sweet and soft in contrast to his dry, chapped ones. He felt so lacking, but the way you were kissing him made him feel like he was floating. You pushed him further against the wall, running your hands through his hair. Your arms hung around his neck, and he wrapped his arms tight around your waist. You kissed each other for a while, no teeth or tongue, just your lips pressed together. Eventually, things began to heat up. You let your tongue try and find its way between his lips and into his mouth. He groaned into your mouth. You tugged his hair, trying to get even closer. Your hands traveled up and down his chest, reaching for the bottom of his shirt.
He grabbed your hands and pulled away.
“No, ” he whispered.
You nodded, “that's ok, you don't have to, Tomura. Did I do something wrong?”
He shook his head, “you’ll make fun of me, ”
“Why would I make fun of you?” you asked, stroking his cheek.
“Because I'm not, ” his voice broke, “I don't- I'm ugly y/n. My body is disgusting you-you won't like me anymore, ”
Your eyes widened, “what?”
“You heard me, ” Tomura said, wiping away tears, “I hate myself, and you would too, ”
“That's bullshit, ” you said, “I think you're beautiful, ”
He scoffed, “you've never even seen me in shorts before now. How would you even know?”
“Because I’ll think you're beautiful no matter what, Tomura Shigaraki, ” you said, “and nothing could ever change that, ”
He shook his head and turned to walk away, but you took his hips and pushed him against the wall. You grabbed his face and kissed him harshly. You kissed his forehead next, the scar on his eye, both of his eyelids, his cheeks, the scar on his lips, and the mole under them.
“You have such a pretty face. You have gorgeous eyes, Tomura. I love kissing you, ” you whispered between kisses.
You kissed away a few stray tears that fell and pressed your forehead to his as he cried.
“Please don't look at me, ” he whispered, pressing his face into your neck.
Seeing him like this broke your heart. You held him as tight as you could, kissing the side of his head. You were going to kill whoever did this to him. You lifted his head and kissed him softly this time. You rubbed your hands up and down his sides. You sunk to your knees and kissed his thighs. Every scar was kissed and stroked lovingly even though your heart broke for him. You moved up his body to his stomach, lifting his shirt even though he tried to pull it down again. You kissed his stomach, soft, light kisses.
He started to relax a bit more, petting your hair instead of trying to pull down his shirt. You moved to his hands next, standing once again. You took his right hand and kissed his knuckles, then the top of his hand, and lastly, his palm. You repeated this on his other hand. You started kissing the scars on his neck, sucking softly. He moaned.
“That feels good y/n, ” he said, moving his hands to your hair.
“I'm gonna make you feel good, baby, don’t worry, ” you mumbled against his skin.
You bit the skin at the juncture of his neck, he groaned and whispered, “yes.” You kissed down to his collar bones, hearing his breathing get faster. This time you practically yanked off his shirt before he had time to stop you.
“So fucking beautiful, ” you said, standing back to admire him.
This time he didn't turn away from you but blushed and shut his eyes. You ran your hands up and down his chest and stomach. Shigaraki whimpered when you tweaked his nipple.
“Good boy, ” you whispered.
He nodded, “I wanna be your good boy. Please, ”
You smiled and brought his lips to yours again. You kissed his cheek and bit his ear softly.
“You're doing all the work, ” he said, “that's not fair. Besides shouldn't I be in charge? That's what it's like in...” he trailed off, embarrassed.
“No, ” you said, “I want to do this for you. I want to be in charge. I want to take care of you, baby. You deserve to relax, ”
He kissed you again, holding you tight to his chest.
“Tomura, ” you said, taking his hands in yours, “I have a question for you, ”
He nodded.
You leaned in and whispered, “how would you like to fuck my tits. You were staring at them all day so why don't you have a little fun with them, ”
He nodded frantically.
“Use your words, puppy, ” you said, scratching his head.
He groaned softly, “yes, please y/n, ”
You guided his hands to your still-clothed chest. He squeezed gently, cheeks growing bright red. You giggled and undid the back of your bikini, letting him see your tits without the thin material over them. He was practically drooling over you, wrapping his lips around your nipple. He sucked and licked them, causing you to moan. Every sound you made was a symphony to his ears, the most beautiful thing he’d ever heard, and he was desperate for more. He moved upwards to litter your neck with hickeys and coax more moans from your beautiful lips.
His long fingers found their way to the strings on the sides of your bikini bottoms. With one tug at the strings, they were around your ankles. It was your turn to blush at the exposure of your body while Tomura’s eyes gleamed. He was on his knees in mere seconds, admiring your sex. You felt self-conscious as he stared at your most intimate area.
“Please, ” he said, looking up at you, “can I taste?”
“Let me do something for you first, ok?” you said, “sit on the bench, ”
He nodded and did as he was told. You kneeled in front of Tomura and took off his pants before pushing your tits together around his cock. His eyes were as wide as saucers as he watched you. You looked up at him as you bounced, moving him between your breasts. He let out a strangled groan and threw his head back.
“That's my good boy, ” you praised, “that's my baby, feels good, yeah?”
He nodded.
“Use your words, puppy, ” you reminded him.
He bit his lip and blushed, still silent, except for his little noises.
“Aww, is someone feeling shy?” you asked.
He nodded and hid his face in his hands though it did little to hide the shy smile on his lips.
“If you want me to keep going, you're going to have to be a good pet for me, Tomura. Be a good boy and speak up, ” you said, pulling his hands away from his face.
“Feels good, ” he whispered.
You decided that was good enough and continued moving him between your boobs. You watched the head of his dick throb and pulse. He began whimpering as his thighs shook. He got louder, whining and moaning desperately.
“I know, baby, I know, ” you said in response to his beautiful noises.
He cried out whimpering.
“Y/n, ” he cried, “I need to cum, ”
“Hold just a little bit longer for me baby, ” you said.
“Can't, ” he cried out, “can't hold it y/n please lemme cum, ”
“Just a little longer, ” you promised, “be my good boy, ”
He whimpered and tensed up in concentration, trying his hardest. He struggled for a while longer begging and crying to cum.
“Go ahead, cum for me, Tomura, ” you said.
He came hard, splattering your chest with his cum. Tomura was left panting and shaking while drool dripped down his chin. His dick twitched a few times more as you let it free from between your boobs. He whined pathetically. You cleaned the sticky mess up as best you could.
“Shh sweetie, I know, I know, ” you said, sitting next to him and pushing hair out of his face.
You pulled him to your chest, watching and listening to him breathe.
“Now, can I taste?” Tomura whispered.
You kissed his forehead, “of course, puppy. Go ahead, ”
He sunk to his knees, spreading your thighs. He groaned when he saw your sloppy cunt drooling for his mouth. He licked a long stripe up your entire cunt, licking over and over. Focused on taste rather than pleasure, finally indulging himself in the delicious juices of your cunt. He grew needier for your moans, trying to find the right places to lick and suck. He found a little bud at the top of your cunt to suckle on and flick his tongue over. Tomura smiled from ear to ear at the sounds coming out of you. Every moan and whimper, every grunt and groan made his heart swell. His fingers once again found their way down, this time finally entering you.
Unpracticed thrusts turned into brushing your g-spot until he realized that curling his fingers was the way to go. Hearing your moans and lewd squelches was a fantastic prize to collect.
“I'm close, Tomura, keep going sweetie, ” you choked out.
You were close, oh god, yes, you were going to cum in his mouth. He ate you out with a passion, desperate for your gorgeous pussy to drip down his chin. Harder, faster thrusts. Stronger licks and desperate slurping. When you finally tensed, he moaned in premature ecstasy, ready for your delicious cum. The vibrations coaxed a gorgeous moan from you. Cum gushed from your pussy and into his waiting mouth, lapping it up like a starved puppy. You tried to shove him away, overstimulation stabbing your cunt. When he finally pulled away, his face was red and coated in your slimy juices, as well as his tongue lolling out of his mouth. He was panting and absolutely blissed out.
He crawled back to you, clinging to your legs.
“Good puppy, ” you praised him, “you did great, Tomura, ”
He grinned, hiding his face in your thigh and giggling. You pulled him up and onto your lap, kissing him on the nose.
“Do you want me to fuck you properly baby?” you asked.
His face fell, “I can't. I'm...I'm not hard. I'm sorry, ” he whispered, tears of embarrassment welling in his eyes.
“Oh, baby, ” you said, stroking his hair, “it's ok, Tomura. It’s ok. Don't worry baby, ”
He sniffled, “ Please don't be mad at me. ‘m sorry. I'm sorry y/n I-I’m a bad boy, ”
“No baby, no, ” you said, wiping away his tears, “you're not a bad boy. You're my good boy, my special boy, ”
He whimpered, bottom lip quivering. You rubbed his back, praising him.
“My good boy, my sweet boy. You did so well for me. Tomura, you're amazing, you're such a perfect boy Tomu, ” you whispered.
He nodded, trying to compose himself.
“Lets go swimming honey, ” you said, stroking his cheek.
He shook his head frantically, “n-no I don't want them to see me, ”
You looked him in his eyes, “you are beautiful. Now come on, we’re both sweaty. Besides, I think they'll be more focused on all the hickeys you gave me, ” you giggled.
He bit his lip.
“C’mon baby, ” you coaxed him, “can you be my good boy?”
He nodded hesitantly, “I'm...a good boy. But-but what if they make fun of me?”
“Then I’ll kill them, ” you smiled, “if they're going to disrespect you, they don't deserve to be in the league anyways, ”
His eyes widened, and a small smile played on his lips. He nodded and stood up, offering a hand to help you up. You accepted, and he pulled you up and to his chest. He held you there, pressing his face into your hair.
“Thank you, ” he whispered.
You kissed him, “my pleasure, ”

Even when it was just the two of you, you were expected to bring mora, so why would that change when there is an added person into the family?
"Mommy, Mommy! Look here, I finally tie it on my own!" A little rascal came running to your room with booming footsteps echoing down the hall, where you were still getting ready, showing you their poorly tied tie. You look over at the door and let a little chuckle before walking towards the smaller male who was quite the unique set of eyes and kneeling down to his level. "Wow, it looks good!" you praised, fixing the bowtie for him, earning a cute, little laugh from him.
The little rascal whose bowtie you were trying to fix was none other than your child, Qian. Qian was a unique child as he had features that normal humans don't have.
A second set of footsteps came echoing down the halls and stopped at your door. You look up and see your dearest husband, leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed and an unshakeable smile on his lips as he stares at the two most precious beings in the world. "Not going to mention how I helped you, I see." The older male chuckles. Qian turns his head to look up at his father before looking back at you again. "Oh yeah! Daddy taught me how to tie it, hehe," the adorable, little boy adds.
You laugh at the added statement and stood up. "Alright, should we go now?" you ask to which both of the males nodded- one with excitement. "Oh, right, Qian, make sure you hide your horns." You look at the two sets of horns that rested on top of the little boy's head.
As said before, the reason why Qian is unique is that he was a mix of a mortal and god-- yours and Zhongli's.
"Oopsies! I didn't know." He quickly retracted his horns so that they were no longer visible. His eyes, however, remained the same glowing amber eyes just like his father's; a truly unique set of eyes that makes him differ from everyone else along with his hair, and also the fact that he had the same immortality as his father.
You walked over to the door where Zhongli wrapped an arm around your waist and gave you a quick kiss on the lips. "Ew, that's gross!" Qian covers his eyes with his hands as he said so, making both you and Zhongli laugh at the little action. "Can we go now? I want toys and books!"
"Alright, we can go now. Come, grab mommy's hand," you said and offer him a hand for him to hold onto. He uncovers his eyes and reaches for your hand, feeling the warmth from his tiny hands and fingers trying to cover most of it. Zhongli went to the other side of him and held his other hand and left the house.
"Mommy, mommy! Look at the doggies!" Qian points at the two dogs that watch the inner part of the bridge, giggling as the dogs wag their tails and walking closer to the young boy. He let go both of his hands from either of yours and Zhongli's grasp and went over to the dogs, ruffling their furs. You smiled before turning to your husband, "Can you watch over Qian while I buy a few things?" Not wanting to take Qian away from the dogs, you relied on Zhongli.
He nods and places a kiss on your head. "Of course," Zhongli says. On every outing, you would take this as a chance for grocery shopping. It was hard to keep the fridge at home full especially when you had a little tyke that sneaks into the kitchen for snacks.
Not wanting to overfill the fridge, you bought only the necessary things that you have fully noted down on a paper along with snacks for Qian. He- although has the same mindset as his father's and a bit of his knowledge- could be quite the handful when he doesn't get his snacks-- throwing tantrums when he wants things. But that was just how kids were and there is nothing else you could do to appease them.
"Mommy, where did you go?" Qian asks when you returned with a bag, still playing with the dogs. "Just went to buy food," you answered, smiling as Zhongli offers to take the bag from your hands. A gentleman, he was.
"What about snacks?" He leapt up excitedly, walking away from the dogs to clung onto your dress. "I wouldn't dare forget them," you replied, seeing his eyes light up happily, then hugging your legs. "You're the best, Mommy!" You rolled your eyes. "So, I'm the best when I buy you your snacks, huh?" you ask, feigning offence and pick him up to meet your eyes. He shakes his head frivolously and re-worded his words, "Mommy is the best even when she doesn't buy Qian snack!" He kisses your cheeks and you giggled.
"What about me?" Zhongli speaks up, pointing at himself as he waits in expectance. Giggling, Qian reaches out for his father who happily engulfed him in a warm hug. The little boy then places a kiss on Zhongli's cheek and smiled. "There! Daddy gets a kiss too, so don't be sulky anymore." Zhongli chuckles and places a kiss on his son's cheeks as well.
"Where would you like to go, Qian?" Zhongli asks, carrying him with one hand as he holds the bag with the other. "Toys!" he exclaims, eyes glimmering with stars. Chuckling, the three of you made your way to a toy shop where Zhongli put Qian down to roam the store, excitedly picking a lot of toys. "Qian, you can only pick two things, okay? You already have a lot back home," you reminded, sweat dropping.
"B, but Qian really likes them..!" He pouts, giving you his doll-like eyes as he pleads. It was something that he always does and was very effective. You felt an imaginary punch to your stomach, picturing your soon-to-be empty wallet, but you just didn't know how to say no to such a face. You cranked your head to your side, looking at your husband who stood idly by cluelessly, hinting him to help.
He notices your graved face and immediately understood and clears his throat. "Qian, mora, you see, may just be a materialistic thing that one can obtain, but obtaining it is much harder than you realize, so mortals always make note of things called prices that requires mora. By doing so, they can save extra mora for other needed things," he lectures, though it doesn't seem that Qian understood what his father told him.
"Mommy can go get more, right?" he asks, clearly not understanding what Zhongli had said. "Money shouldn't be thrown around carelessly, sweetie," you spoke, kneeling to his level and placing a hand on his shoulder, his bright eyes reflecting off of yours. "Okay.. But we can come back to buy them, right?" Qian asks, to which you nodded. "Then, Qian will pick these two! Mr. Cyclops is cool!"
You look at the toy in his hand, knowing that it was a very popular toy from Snezhnaya. The toy maker was also very popular amongst children, so it was understandable seeing Qian choosing the toy. You stood up and ruffled his head before turning to place a kiss on Zhongli's cheeks. "It wasn't the best explanation, but it did make him choose two," you say and walked off to pay for the toys.
"Mommy, mommy, I'm hungry!" Qian tugs on your hands after so much walking. "Well, it is the afternoon.. Where does Qian want to go?" you ask. "I want to eat where that fire-breathing teddy bear is!" he says almost immediately, showing his enthusiasm. "Ah, Wanmin Restaurant it is." You chuckled, knowing he meant Guoba.
"Hello, welcome to Wanmin Restaurant! Please, sit wherever you like!" Xiangling greets. Qian's smile grew wider when his eyes landed on the girl and ran up to her as you and Zhongli walked to an empty table. "Miss, can I see Mr. Fire-breathing Bear?" he asks, tugging her clothes. "Oh, of course, Qian!" the female giggles and takes Guoba out. On every outing, Wanmin Restaurant was one of the places Qian loves to go and that's because of Xiangling's Guoba. He would never go to another restaurant even when suggested.
Xiangling sat her bear on the extra seat around your table- right beside Qian- and look towards you and Zhongli. "Please, take your time to look over the menu! Oh, I've also added new dishes that children might like," Xiangling says enthusiastically before leaving the table to tend to other customers.
After choosing lunch, Xiangling makes off to the kitchen and leave the three of you plus Guoba to chat for a while. "Mr. Fire-breathing Bear is cute!" Qian states, touching the bear. "Mommy, can Qian have one too?" He turns to look at you.
"Ah.. Of course!" you say, giving him a close-eyed smile. It was a good thing that Guoba was behaving on order or else it could hurt someone.
"Here are your orders!" Xiangling returns as quickly as she went, the order in her hands and places it on the table. "And a little snack for little Qian!" she says. Qian giggles and thanked her before she excused herself once more, bringing her Guoba along.
After that, you just strolled around the city until sunset and eyed interesting things, making sure that neither Qian nor Zhongli went off on their own for things they've found an interest in. It was indeed fun, but it almost felt like you had to babysit Zhongli as well who almost always wanders around to buy things without preparing money with him.
"Mommy, how come Daddy isn't allowed to bring money with him?" Qian asks, running along the edge of the docks, pretending that his Mr. Cyclops can fly. Zhongli was certainly caught by surprise and a tint of pink was seen on his face as he forcefully coughs onto his fist-- most likely embarrassed for the reason. You snickered, eyeing the man from the side of your eyes before looking over to the little boy. "He is bad at managing money, so that is why mommy has them. And also because daddy always forgets to bring his money," you answered. "When he was courting me, I had to pay for most things to which he will pay by taking me out for dinner." It was only times that Zhongli can date onto a calendar, that he will remember to bring money. Other than that? Expect to bring your wallet.
"How did daddy manage to marry mommy like that?" he asks, surprised and draws his full attention to the two of you. "Well, daddy has other charms to look at. He's especially good in b--" Zhongli immediately covers your mouth, knowing full well of what you were about to say. "I would take whatever means necessary to marry your mother-- mora aside, of course," Zhongli states, hearing you laugh from beside him, though having a mouth over you.
You remove his hand to add on but was then cut off by putting a hand over your mouth. He laced his arm around your waist and draws you close before removing the hand and placing a kiss on your cheek. "I'm just kidding. You know I will never say that," you say, giggling at his attempt to shut you up.
"Ew, daddy is kissing mommy!" Qian spoke, drawing your attention to the young boy. "It was just a kiss on the cheek.." you say. "That is still kissing!" Qian defends.
You chuckled. "Alright, come here, Qian. It's time to go home and make dinner," you say, outstretching a hand for him to hold. He excitedly runs towards you and grabs hold of your free hand, your other being held by Zhongli.
After dinner, you all sat in the living room for some more family bonding time, Qian now presenting his horns as he plays with his new toys along with his old ones. But it didn't take long for the hours to pass before looking at the clock and decided that it was time for Qian to go to sleep.
"Alright, Qian, time to go to sleep," you say. "But I still want to play with Mr. Cyclops.." He pouts. "You can play with Mr. Cyclops tomorrow, okay? He won't leave," you assured. He was a bit reluctant, but soon allowed you to pick him up to bring him to his bedroom, Zhongli trailing behind.
You helped him change into sleepwear and tuck him nicely under the blanket, then turning on the lamp on his bedside table and turning off the light before returning to sit on the edge of his bed. "Good night, Qian. Let mommy and daddy see you in your dreams," you say softly and kiss his forehead. "Good night.. Mommy.." With that, his eyelids fell heavy, drifting him off to dream land.
You stood up and turn to look at the door, seeing Zhongli's eyes glowing much brighter in the dark room. One more look at Qian before you made your way to Zhongli who waited outside the hall, leaving the door slightly open as usual.
"I'm tired." You yawned, wiping a tired tear from the corner of one of your eyes. Zhongli chuckles lowly and caught you by surprise by picking you up, bridal style. "Then, it must be time for my dear to sleep as well," Zhongli says, smiling down at you as he walks to yours and his bedroom where he lies you down and crawling to the other side of the bed, getting underneath the blanket with you.
You muzzled into his chest, letting him wrap his strong arms around you closely and engulfing you in his warmth. "Good night, my dear." He kisses your forehead. You hummed, tired, and said, "Good night, my love."

Why Daenerys Should've Stayed Longer in the North Than Attack Cersei Too Soon (Which is a dick move, really) PART 2
This is a continuation from my other post, as promised. Here’s the link to Part 1 here.
ALLIES FROM THE SOUTH
The Stormlands. With Dany recently legitimizing Robert Baratheon’s last living bastard, Gendry (Yay!), and appointed him as the new Lord of Storm’s End, I think he had pledged his loyalty and full support to her.
Tumblr media
Now since the Baratheons are the overlords of the Stormlands, it ultimately makes the Stormlands part of Dany’s new rule in Westeros. And if the Stormmen questioned Gendry’s legitimacy, there are two people who can back him up: Ser Davos Seaworth, a landed knight, and Ser Brienne of Tarth, literally the heiress to Evenfall in Tarth Island. Both of whom are from the Stormlands and have served the late Baratheon lords, Stannis,
Tumblr media
and Renly, respectively.
Tumblr media
TV show-wise, Gendry had taken over Edric Storm’s plotline. Edric Storm was another one of Robert’s many bastards and it was him who Ser Davos saved from being killed by Mellisandre in the books, not Gendry. Gendry himself was grateful to Davos for saving his life and he sort of stepped up as his own parental figure. I also think Gendry reminded Davos of the son he lost during the Battle of Blackwater Bay.
As for Brienne, she and Gendry never shared a conversation in the show, but in the books, he even saved her life. Brienne came from Tarth, an island in the Stormlands, where her father Selwyn Tarth is lord and one of the many bannermen of the Baratheons of Storm’s End. Brienne came across Gendry in the Inn at the Crossroads while she was searching for the Stark girls. When she saw him, she literally thought he was Renly because of his striking resemblance to his uncle. Their exchange went something like this:
Brienne: Oh my god, Lord Renly?!
Gendry: Uh, what? Lord? Lol no, I’m just a smith.
I wished it happened in the show, it would’ve been funny.
Dorne. There isn’t much plot regarding Dorne in the show. (Again, f*ck D&D for ruining a great sub-plot of the story!) But in the books, the Martell heiress, Arianne was the ultimate feminist icon. She supported and fought for Myrcella Baratheon’s claim to the Iron throne over her younger brother, Tommen, and she hoped that the rest of Westeros would follow after Dorne’s right of inheritance regardless of gender and order of birth. But no! They disregarded that seemingly important plot that even George R.R. Martin was disappointed about the changes. (We hear you, George!) Nevertheless, Arianne would’ve supported a queen, yes. But between Daenerys and Cersei, she’d probably go with Dany mainly because of their family ties. In case you forgot, Rhaegar’s late first wife, Elia Martell, was Arianne’s aunt. Also, because of what happened to Elia and Oberyn Martell in King’s Landing, the Martells practically loathed the Lannisters. In the show, Oberyn Martell’s paramour Ellaria Sand, and his bastard daughters, the Sand Snakes, hated the Lannisters, that’s why they sided with Dany. But with all of them dead and House Martell now extinct, I think the new prince of Dorne would’ve allied himself with a tamer ruler, not one who plays with wildfire. (Note: this is when Dany stayed in the North and did not march south yet.)
Spies. In the Art of War, the use of spies implies gaining knowledge of the enemy, knowing their motive and their next move. With Lord Varys the Spider in Winterfell, who’s still serving under Daenerys, has its advantages. Vary’s networks of spies or as what he called them, his “little birds” are literally scattered across the seven kingdoms.
Tumblr media
His little birds are actually children, and appearance-wise, cannot be easily identified as spies. With his intel, they could easily formulate a plan to defeat Cersei.
DEFENSE AT SEA
If Cersei couldn’t do it by land, she’ll go by sea. Which, Daenerys of course, have the appropriate fleets to defend, covering both the Narrow and Sunset Seas. Here's a map:
Tumblr media
(Source: pinterest.com)
Enemies to the East. If Cersei will be stupid enough to attack through the Narrow Sea by sea, Daenerys has the fleets to defend. The Northern fleet, a.k.a the Manderly Fleet of White Harbor and the Arryn Fleet in Gulltown in the Vale will join forces.
Enemies to the West. And if they invade through the Sunset Sea, they’d have to pass the Iron Islands, where Yara Greyjoy’s Fleet will intercept them, with the help of the Mallister Fleet in Seagard.
Tumblr media
Who would win depends. The only other person that’s probably as good as Euron at sea is his niece, Yara. The rest of Dany’s fleet would have to get lucky or outnumber the number of ships in a fleet.
At this point, you’ll probably be like, oh, what if they steer clear from the fleets and enter the North’s weakly defended areas? Okay, that job falls to the castles nearest to their borders. The northernmost castle is the Last Hearth, the seat of House Umber, which is practically already deserted. On the south is Greywater Watch, which has the strongest defense out of all four cardinal directions. On both east and west hold the seat of two branches of House Flint, with Widow’s Watch on the east, and Flint’s Finger on the west (Again, refer to the map above). Once they see Cersei’s fleet, they’ll inform the people in Winterfell.
People tend to forget that Daenerys has the only air support with her dragons. So when she hears about this, she’ll easily burn the enemy fleet with one dracarys away.
Tumblr media
That is, if Qyburn hadn’t installed that big-ass crossbow in one of the ships, then she’ll have to be better at dodging them. It gets better if Jon’s willing to help her with Rhaegal, but we’ll never know.
OUTNUMBERED AND SURROUNDED
Tumblr media
The map shows the Crownlands and its neighboring kingdoms of the Vale, the Riverlands, the Reach, and the Stormlands. (Source: pinterest.com)
Territories. With Cersei sacrificing Casterly Rock to tighten her grip on the Iron Throne, she technically had also sacrificed the Westerlands, which meant everything north of King’s Landing is Dany’s territory now. With Dany’s army and territories secured, the Crownlands, where King’s Landing is, is technically surrounded by the Vale, the Riverlands, the Reach, and Stormlands. I included the Reach because, well, she roasted the Tarlys and took the remaining men to her cause with a choice, bend the knee or die in a blaze of glory.
Armies. Dany has the combined armies of North, Vale, Riverlands, Westerlands, Reach, Stormlands, and maybe Dorne, plus, the Unsullied; fleets of the North, Vale, Riverlands, and Yara’s fleet from the Iron Islands; and the only air support, her two remaining dragons. Cersei on the other hand, just had the army of the Crownlands, King’s Landing’s City Watch, the queensguard, plus, the Golden Company without elephants; and Euron Greyjoy’s fleet.
I think it’s obvious that Dany outnumbers Cersei’s army, by a lot. And at this point, Dany has enough allies to lay a siege on King’s Landing.
DAENERYS VS. CERSEI
Let’s discuss the difference in the personalities and motives of Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister.
They both have blond hair, are the only girl among three siblings, and are queens in their own right. But that’s where their similarities end.
Cersei currently sits on the iron throne, and she is loving the perks that came with it. Endless Power, which meant she can do whatever she wants and not care about what people think, like sleeping with her brother. With the news of Dany coming back to Westeros, she sees her as a threat and wanted nothing more than for Dany to disappear so she could stay in power.
Tumblr media
Daenerys, however, claims that being the queen of the seven kingdoms is her birthright, as it was the Targaryens that reunited the whole continent of Westeros. Of course, it’s still power, but at the same time, she sees it as a responsibility as well. (With great power, comes great responsibility. Wow, I’m quoting Spiderman now.) She believes that as a queen, it’s her job to take care and provide for the needs of her subjects and even makes an effort to hold court as she listened to their demands. She also thinks that slavery is a big no-no, so she freed them.
Tumblr media
The key to becoming a great leader is finding the balance between being loved and feared by your subjects. Cersei is more likely feared than loved. She also doesn’t care about her people, a fact that she admitted to her brother, Tyrion once. Daenerys most likely had the scale tips on balance, with her being equally loved and feared by her subjects. She’s loved because she actually takes time to listen to the people’s needs, and feared because she could take you out using her dragons with one word.
If Dany did lay siege on King’s Landing (again, we aren’t counting her major mad queen moment), the only thing Cersei can use against Dany is the people living within the city walls. Cersei might have heard that Dany’s been freeing slaves in the cities surrounding Slaver’s Bay, and figured out that she has a soft spot for the common folk.
In conclusion, if Daenerys had simply waited out and took her time planning and gathering allies and supplies against Cersei, she would’ve been successful in her campaign to retake Westeros. But then again, we aren’t the writers for this show. In the end, they had Jon battling through himself while he chooses to reply with either of his two favorite lines, She’s my queen or I don’t want it. Or that Sansa and Arya doesn’t like Dany at all and think that she’s a power-hungry, dragon-riding bitch. Or that Bran doesn’t give a f*ck about anything. So, yeah. What do you guys think?

Favorite victim
Pairing: Fred Weasley x Reader
Summary: You are Fred’s favorite prank victim, which creates a lot of hatred towards one another. Until a mistletoe proofs you both wrong.
Word count: 2 k (2000)
Author’s note: I am so sorry for being this unactive. Also sorry for the lack of quality. University is taking up all my time and has given me a headache that lasts for a week already. Thanks for understanding. I hope you enjoy this shorter fic.x
Tumblr media
You and Fred had a complex friendship, if it even could be considered that. He always seemed to take the piss with you. For some unknown reason you were his favorite pranking victim. It all had started innocent. Hiding your ties, placing your books at the highest shelves that were impossible to reach, and switching your ropes with one of the other houses. Putting potions in your food that made it taste odd, made you sneeze, and made your voice a high pitched squeak. But over time they became more evil. The potions no longer got their innocence. They coloured your hair in plenty vibrant colours, made your nose bleed, and made you cough up feathers. The twins put traps everywhere, so you would trip and get covered in a thick, stinky liquid. In class they made your books explode, messed up your potions so you would end up with a loud explosion to the face and getting covered with whatever concoction was in the cauldron.
It was getting out of hand. Last week they had replaced your soap with one of their own brewed ones. It was supposed to make your head purple, but instead you had started to swell up. Your face felt as if it was about to pop. You angrily approached them during breakfast. “Thanks a lot mate. Good luck explaining to McGonagall why I can’t attend her class”, you threw the soap at them, shaking your head in disappointment. “This hurts a lot”, you said through gritted teeth, before leaving them. You quickly headed over to the hospital wing for the umpteenth time. Later on you found out that you had a bad allergic reaction to one of the oils the twins had put in their soap. Your swelling first got worse, before it vanished. You barely could open your eyes and breathing had became difficult too, but luckily it faded soon enough. Their stupid little prank had resulted in you spending a good few days in the hospital wing. As soon as you were released form your bedrest, you gave the twins a lecture about the dangers of their pranks. Luckily for you they never used that oil ever again. But they managed to cross the line many more times in various other ways. You started to grow more hatred towards the beloved twins. One day they would actually kill you.
Today they had stolen your alarm clock. You were woken up by annoyingly loud ticking noises coming from your closet. Over time it grew louder and more unbearable. As if being late wasn’t bad enough, they also had to steal all your clothes and replace them by those idiotic toys. They didn’t even had any specific shape, just odd metal forms. As if a robot and car got merged together but had melted during the process. After you finally found some clothes, hidden somewhere safe, you stormed out in search for the redheads. They were sat in the common room, happily chatting with some other students. “Weasley!”, you slammed the door shut behind you, angrily stumping your feet on the ground as you made your way over to him.  “I swear to Merlin, If i find another of your stupid little - toys- I will personally stick all of them up your throat till you choke to death”. As you were yelling at Fred, you had earned the attention of the whole common room. Even if the constant bickering had become a daily routine, they still waited impatiently for the scene in front of them to unravel into your usual fights. “Wow (Y/n), relax”, Fred showed his famous smirk. He stood up, meeting you halfway of the common room. He towered over your small frame, looking challenging into your eyes. But two could play his game, you didn’t budged as you gave him your darkest, murderous glare. You raised your eyebrow as a signal for him to explain himself, already knowing that only nonsense would be spewing from his mouth. “It was just a joke. Not even a dangerous one-”, the last part of his sentence got cut off by a loud exploding sound coming from the girls sleeping room. Or more specific, your closet. At the same time, the toy in your hand had exploded as well. You let out a scream of shock, while throwing the lightly smoking object to where Fred’s feet were. He jumped as a reflex. His face turned angry for a slight moment, but you could care less. You were beyond furious. The day were he would succeed in killing you, would came sooner than you had thought. “Not dangerous?! Not da-dan- Are you joking me?!”, you stuttered due to your overwhelming emotions, mostly furiousness and hatred. “Well, that’s kind of the point”, he cocked as if nothing had happened. As if he didn’t just could have injured someone really badly with his stupid prank. “I still could have been in there”, you said, hitting him on the chest to have more impact on him. “Someone could have gotten hurt, or worse -” Which each word that left your mouth, you hit him a bit harder. But he didn’t moved at all, he just grinned down at you. As a foolish idiot, loving the sight of your angered state. His smug face only made your anger worse. Nothing would ever sink in his brain, he just brushed it off. You wanted to comment on it, but found yourself unable to. You were just going to waste your time, so you decided to storm off to somewhere you wouldn’t need to see his face again. Somewhere you could calm down.
Once you vanished out of the room and the watching crowd returned back to their daily routines, George stepped up to his brother. “Well well, Freddy. You know we are meant to play nice”, he smiled with a hint of a smirk hiding in the corner of his lip. “Shut it. I’ll play nice when she does”, He glowered, looking like a grumpy little child. “Oooh, so you want her to play nice with you”, George teased, as he wiggled his eyebrows at his twin. “Shut up”, Fred responded again, leaving his twin alone. George just smiled and shook his head at the foolishness of his brother.
Luckily for you, you didn’t saw Fred’s face until your study session. You were nearly done with your potions essay, when a huge amount of ink fell out of the sky. Your clothes were soaked by the black liquid. As you looked down to your desk, you saw your essay covered in huge spots. “Noo”, you said a bit too loud, voice lightly cracking from your exhaustion. Your head shot towards the chuckling sound. “You”, you spat out, as if he were a poison in your mouth. You murderously glared at Fred while approaching him. “What have I done”, he smiled innocent. You bit down on your teeth, clenching your jaw. It was hard not to slap him across the face right now. You dug your fingernails into your palm, while deeply breathing in. “Do I really need to explain it?!”, you grumbled through gritted teeth. “Be my guest”, he smiled, beaming with excitement and mischief. His hands rested on his hips with much attitude. “You- Ruined - My- Essay”, with each word you stepped forwards, closing the gap between the two of you. You slapped your essay onto his chest, staining his clothes with the black ink. “I’ve spent days on it. And you know for a fact that Snape won’t care”, you pushed him away from you, making him stumble the slightest bit. “Ruin your own essay for once”, you said in a small voice, as the previous event slowly started to sink in. You were devastated, all your hard work was for nothing. Your eyes started to water a little. You were exhausted, not only from the long nights you had spend on the now ruined essay; but also because of how draining these pranks had gotten. Ever one of them gave you more reasons to hate these beloved twins.
As you looked up from your ink-covered hands, you saw Fred with a dumbfounded look on his face. Only seconds ago, he was beaming with joy. “What?”, you asked harsh, but nowhere near the intensity it usual would have. He gave no response, so you sighed and tried to walk off. But you found yourself unable to do so. A force kept you in place. “What do you want?”, you muttered in a mix of anger and despair. You were too exhausted and too distressed to have a fight. “Just let me go”, you said with a much softer voice. You were still turned away from him, as you were trying to hold in your tears. “I don’t have a hold of you... I thought you had a hold on me”, he said slow, confusion knitting his eyebrows together. “What? Why would I-”, you started, turning your head back in his direction. As you eyes trailed to his face, you caught sight of something green above Fred’s head. You let out a frustrated sight as you realized what it was. Stupid mistletoe and its bright green leaves.
You pinched the bridge of your nose, totally over this whole situation. You desperately tried to free yourself with some spells. But the mistletoe wouldn’t move, neither could any of you. “(Y/n), you know that won’t work. You should know that. You are lots better at charms than me”, Fred said, sounding sincere. A unexpected heat raised to your face. Fred Weasley just had given you a compliment, what a rarity. “But we need a way to get out of here before any teacher catches us out past curfew”. You used the lame excuse. You truly didn’t care if you were out past curfew or even got caught. You just wanted to get away from Fred before he could pick up on your emotions. Not that he would care. Everything just seemed to be a joke to him, surely when it included you. “I know a way”, he responded casually. But you were unimpressed, showing it clearly with your facial expressions. “Trust me, okay?”, he muttered softly, his voice almost coming out as a whisper. His big hand cupped your cheek, leaving a warmth at the place where your skins touched. “Just this once”, you replied, before his sweet lips pressed against yours. His other hand went to the small of your back, pulling your body tighter to his chest. Your hands lightly tugged on the fabric his shirt, staining it even more with the black liquid. Neither of you caring how big of a mess it would be.
The kiss lasted longer than you had expected. You melted in his touch, losing yourself in the heavenly kiss. Your hands found their way to his jaw and the back of his neck, leaving a trail of blackness everywhere you had touched his soft skin. Only when you broke apart to breath, you realized what had happened. Your eyes slowly fluttered open. You were met with a grinning Fred, who now also was covered in the black liquid. But you weren’t going to give him the satisfaction he wanted. He was not going to get you that easily. “This changes nothing, Weasley”, you suppressed the smile that desperately wanted to curl your lips upwards. You turned away from him, relieved that you finally could move again. You were about to head over to your belongings, when he pulled you back by your arm. “Well, I think it does, (Y/l/n)”, he grinned the biggest smile he had ever had, “Mistletoe only sticks to people who have feelings for each other”. The smug bastard. Of course he would know such a thing. As he pulled you in for a second kiss, you couldn’t help but smile against his lips.

“What should I wear tomorrow?” Claire texted Jamie on the eve of their first official date. She wanted to have an extra time to shop should the need there be.
“What do ye mean?” he replied.
“I want to dress appropriately to wherever you’re taking me, James Fraser.”
“I see. Smart casual would do. :) Sorry, I dinna thought of informing ye earlier but wouldn’t it be hilarious if you dressed to the nines and we’re going to some sort of cattle farm”
“Exactly.” Claire replied with the eye roll and laughing emoji. “Can I know where we’re going?”
“Don’t ye want to be surprised?” Jamie messaged back and saw three dots typing afterwards.
“Hmm, thinking about it, yes. I’m excited to see the Jamie Fraser Date Experience.”
“Hope it doesna disappoint. I, too, am excited to see the Claire Beauchamp Date Experience. ;)” he replied, knowing the use of emoji will make her smile as he rarely uses one.
“I hope it doesn’t disappoint, too.” she replied with a winky face too. “Are you back in Edinburgh?”
“Just about to arrive home. I might just wash and then hit the sack.”
“Rest then, Jamie. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Thanks, Sassenach. I’ll message ye tomorrow when I’m on my way”
----
It has been four weeks since their accidental meeting at the sidewalk. After countless run-ins, lunches, and an absurd amount of consumed soy chicken, the day of their date has arrived.
When Claire accepted his invitation three days earlier, Jamie went into a slight overdrive trying to plan what to do. He meant to ask her out when he got back - but when he found out that she met Laoghaire, something pushed him to go for it before Claire had any wrong idea about his connection with Mrs. Fitz's granddaughter.
His first idea was to go all out - book the fanciest rooftop restaurant in the city, get the best chef he knew, and plan a private dinner for them. Fancy and exclusive seemed like a safe choice and a sure hit.
Then he thought about Claire and all their interactions so far - hole in the wall kitchens, asian street food, very light and casual. Jamie pondered on the idea and realized that jumping from that to an uber private dinner might not be the best, so he kept that card to play for later.
It was then he decided to just take their casual lunch to a casual dinner. He’ll just exchange one-hour savory chicken meetings for a comfortable, popular city restaurant and longer conversations. He also decided on wearing more casual clothes, opting out of his office suits that she’d seen him often in for a navy turtleneck, khaki pants and white sneakers.
Arriving at her front door, Jamie took one last stock of himself, suddenly feeling a wave of nervousness, and knocked on her door.
What he saw next knocked him out.
Claire opened the door wearing a burgundy sleeveless jumpsuit that was both modest and sexy, yet casual enough. Pairing the ensemble with black heels, the garment hugged Claire’s curves in just the right places that left Jamie staring for a hot minute.
“Hi” Claire broke through his thoughts and he remembered his manners.
“Hi, Claire. Wow, ye look beautiful”
“Thank you. You’re not so bad yourself. Going to stop traffic pairing blue on blue like that”
“Ye ready to go?”
“Yeah. Are we going to walk?” She asked as she locked the door to her place.
“Yes, I hope ye dinna mind. Ye live close by all the nice places to eat.”
“No, I don’t mind and also, very true.”
It was a short 10-minute walk before they arrived at Howie’s Restaurant.
“Howie’s. Interesting choice.” Claire commented as they walked to the hostess.
“We can go somewhere if ye dinna like it here.” Jamie offered.
“No, I actually quite like it here” she had to stifle a laugh at how adorable she found his tenseness was.
The hostess pointed them to the bar to wait for their table. Claire excused herself to the bathroom and Jamie ordered a light whisky for some liquid courage.
When the bartender served his drink, a familiar bloke sat beside him and greeted him.
“Jamie Fraser, hello!”
Jamie gulped the drink and turned to the man beside him. “Joe! It’s good to see ye, man!”
The two shook hands and exchanged more pleasantries.
“I’m actually meeting my wife.” He looked at his watch and then to the front door. “Oh, good, she just arrived!” Joe quickly waved her in and introduced her.
“Jamie Fraser, meet Gail Abernathy. Gail, Jamie.” he paused when Jamie extended a hand to her. “He was the guy who volunteered at our center two weeks ago. All the kids were just drawn to him.”
“No wonder.” Gail observed, her comment earning a jokey sigh from her husband. “So, Jamie, what brings you to this side of town on a Saturday evening?”
Jamie was about to share that he was on a date, but then right on cue, Claire arrives to greet the trio.
“Hello, everyone!”
“Claire!” Gail squealed as she gave her friend a tight hug.
“Lady Jane, you clean up good!” Joe remarked.
As they finished their greetings, Jamie quietly whispered to Claire to order any drink she’d like. The husband-and-wife duo caught on and couldn’t resist to pry.
“You guys on a date?” Joe asked frankly.
“First one, actually.” Jamie replied as Gail raised an eyebrow while Claire returned to his side, drink in tow.
Joe leaned closer to Jamie and pretended to whisper in his ear, “My date advice is don’t challenge her or don’t allow her to challenge you to a drinking game. You will lose”
Claire groaned while the rest laughed at her expense.
Just then, the hostess approached the pairs and told them their tables were ready. They exchanged their goodbyes and were led to their areas.
 ---
Jamie had been a perfect gentleman.
He opened her seat, allowed her to order and choose whatever she wanted from the menu (They both went to the steak and fries!), and is making just the right amount of banter.
Claire actually liked this dining choice - Howie’s comfort food really brought out the easy ambiance and conversation to their date. She didn’t mind going to a fancier place but she knew that if they were there, things would be too formal, delicate and shy. This was much better and she’d Jamie props for this.
Moreover, what made this official first date a little bit more fun is much of the first date awkwardness is gone. They’ve covered much of the basics about their life during their lunches - their families (both their parents are alive and have retired away from the city, Claire’s an only child while Jamie had an older sister), how they chose their careers and where they went to school (Jamie is Oxford Law while Claire is Cambridge Med, the school rivalry something they joke about), their current or main interests (horses for Jamie, herbs for Claire) and many other things.
So the evening was more or less less a continuation on what they’ve normally done - catching up on their days, sharing an interesting story at work or a photo they found on the web, asking more random questions - the only difference now is, there’s a more clear and intentional purpose for knowing these things and whole lot of shameless flirting in between.
Forty-five minutes in and halfway through their steak, a man approached their table. “Dr. Beauchamp, it’s nice to see you here!”
Jamie and Claire looked up and saw a slender man, not much older than they are with grey eyes.
“Tom, hi!” Claire swallowed a fry and grabbed a cloth to clean her mouth.
“I’m sorry to interrupt your evening but I saw you from the bar and just had to pass by and greet you. I mean at least, this time, not at the hospital or during check ups”
Claire smiled and made the introductions. “Oh, I’m sorry. Tom Christie, this is Jamie Fraser. Jamie, Tom. He is a teacher at the public elementary school. We met when I did the annual medical checkup for the kids. Also, I’m the peds of his kids, Allan and Malva.”
The mention of the word kids made Jamie release the tight fist he didn’t know he held beneath the table. He didna like the way the man eyed Claire but it was not his place - not yet at least.
Jamie gave the man a nod but ultimately wished he’d go. When neither said or did anything, Tom said his farewells and confirmed his kids check-up schedule in two weeks.
---
They decided to share a slice of chocolate cake and one last glass of wine each to cap off their dinner.
As they waited for their order to arrive, they got startled with a loud noise.
“Jamie, is that ye?!” one man said.
“Oh, heavens, tis!” another man replied.
Jamie could not hide the embarrassment he felt as the two blokes approached their table. Once they noticed Claire, they did not waste time introducing themselves.
“Hello, I havena seen ye before. My name is Angus” the thin, beardly man extended his hand. “And ye are?”
“Hi, I’m Claire.” she reached out but eyeing Jamie for confirmation that he knew these people.
“I’m Rupert.” the other man said. “We’re Jamie’s cousins”
“Distant cousins” Jamie retorted back. “What brings ye here?” he asked while glaring at them to leave.
“We have a double date” Angus shared, pointing to the table where two ladies were indeed waiting for them.
“Then I suggest you return to your dates then.” Jamie replied then proceeded to converse with the two men in Gaelic.
When the conversation was apparently over, Rupert sighed and turned to Claire. “It was nice meeting ye, lass. Please ask Jamie here to bring around one of our office events and meet the rest of the clan. I’m sure they’d love to get to know ye as well.”
Jamie stood up quickly and had to push the two back to their table before they said anything else that may ruin the evening.
“I’m sorry about them, Claire. They are quite the more, erm, rowdy members of my family.” he said as he sat down again.
“It’s alright. They seem really nice” Claire said, smiling. “So, clan huh? Just how big is that family of yours really?” She brought the conversation back up again hoping it would ease his discomfort.
Jamie visibly relaxed and then, they were back in their bubble, “How many generations back?”
---
Desert went by swimmingly with the chocolate cake and red wine proving to be a winning combo. After an almost three-hour dinner, Jamie asked for the check and insisted on paying for the meal.
They were one their way out of the restaurant then Claire was greeted by incoming guests.
“Dr. Beauchamp!”
Claire turned to look who called her. “Oh, please call me Claire. It’s nice seeing you here”
“Likewise. Please call me Meredith.” she quickly signaled to the man beside her. “This is my husband, Derek.”
“Of course, Dr. Shepherd.” Claire politely acknowledged him with the man insisting to be called casually as well.
“Anyway, I’d just like to say that I just read your latest paper in the Journal of Pediatrics. I look forward to hearing all about it in your visit to Seattle.”
Claire graciously accepted the complement with a smile and bow. “Thank you. We’ll catch up in Seattle in a few weeks, then.” Remembering her companion, she turned to her back where Jamie was patiently waiting for her. “Oh my, where are my manners. Meredith, Derek, this is Jamie Fraser. Jamie, this is Meredith and Derek Shepherd. They’re visiting doctors from Grey Sloan Memorial in Seattle.”
Jamie returned the pleasantries and shook hands with the doctors.
“Alright, I’ll let you guys go on with your evening. Sorry for the sudden call out” Meredith said.
“It’s no problem at all. A good night to you both as well.” Claire replied as she looked at Jamie and motioned for them to head out.
--
Once they we're out of the restaurant, Jamie lets out a light laugh.
“What’s so funny?” she asked.
“I was just thinking that I’d never unexpectedly run into that many acquaintances in one evening, let alone in a date!” he shared, chuckling more as the thought further sank in his mind and Claire joined him in his mood. “It isna exactly part of the Jamie Fraser Date Experience”
“I’m really sorry.”
“Don’t be, there’s nothing to apologize for. I mean, who would’ve thought, right?” Jamie retorted, his humor infectious.
She was touched by his honesty, not just with the situation but the entire night. He was caring, makes great conversation, and is always authentic with who and how he carries himself. She cannot make a full judgement of his character yet, as that is something she is still getting to know, but she likes what she is seeing so far.
Taking a bold step, she wrapped her arm around his as they started walking side by side back to her place.
Jamie looked at her hand, smiled and hoped it conveyed to Claire the joy he felt at the moment. “Is this part of the Claire Beauchamp Date Experience?” he asked nonchalantly.
“Only to a rare few” she said as she slightly tugged him closer.
The walk back seemed shorter than the one they did earlier. Before they knew it, they were already standing in front of Claire’s building.
“Oh, before I forget!” Jamie exclaimed as he fished out his car keys and a grey miata lit up open beside them. He pulled out an exquisite posey bouquet of red roses and handed it to her. “These are for you.”
Claire took them and smelt it, “The flowers are beautiful”
“I hope ye had a good time, Sassenach”
“I had a great time, Jamie. Thank you”
After a beat, Jamie took a deep breath, gathering strength to what he was about to say next. “Claire, we’ve known each other for about a month now, became unexpected friends in a short amount of time, had our lunches and now, our first date. I hope ye dinna think this is too forward of me but...I like you and I would like to see you again or keep seeing you, I guess.“ They we’re holding each other’s gazes as he laid out his intentions and waited for her reply.
Claire sighed and was just amazed by him. Her previous encounters are usually with male friends who constantly hang out with her then a few months down, asks her “what they are” as if she had to know or feel that something was happening from the get go. So, Jamie's forthrightness and old-fashionedness was truly refreshing and she was more than willing to give it a go.
As a final check to their chemistry, she stepped closer, tilted her head and leaned in to him. Quickly responding to her actions, he held her face on one hand and placed the other on her hips to pull her closer. He followed her lead until their lips crashed into each other in a single deep kiss.
In that moment, both Jamie and Claire knew something big shifted in the dynamic of their relationship.
This was not usual.
This is different.
And oh so good.
They felt each other smile against their lips just as they pulled apart for air.
“I like you too, Jamie and yes”

A/N: Maybe not the first date you might've thought of but hope you liked it! As always, thank you for reading! Your comments, suggestions, and questions are always welcome. If there's a story or scene you'd like to know, feel free to drop it! :)This was my original idea for the date but as I was writing it, I was going back and forth about scraping the entire thing and think about something else. But the original thought kept developing in my mind so I went back and stuck with it and cross-fingers, hoped it worked and made sense. I knew she had doctor friends but adding the Greys Anatomy characters just came about since I've been binging the show and thought it'd be fun to crossover. Hope you're keeping safe and in line to get vaccinated for the COVID-19 shot! See you all in the next one!

A Break(Up)? Mat Barzal
Wow, okay, so I thought about this last night and it turned out to be a lot more angsty than i thought it would be. Hope you enjoy!
~
You weren’t really sure how you and Mat got to this point, you haven’t even been dating that long but the fight was something else. You and Mat never seemed to fight, but then it meant all your past problems seemed to fester and roll into this big row. You didn’t mean for it to happen and you kept asking yourself how you got to this point. Thinking back on it, you understood where he was coming from, but now you weren’t angry, instead you were heartbroken because you didn’t know if the relationship could be saved.
As you stood in your kitchen, you could hear the fight begin all over again. It was loud and heartbreaking from the very beginning, unsure of how it even started the tears breached your eyes but it didn’t stop Mat in his tracks, it just made him fight harder.
You followed him from his bedroom and into the family room, his suitcase rolling behind him as he walked in his suit. “Mat, just stop.” You begged.
“Christ, Y/N, she’s just an old friend!” Mat blew up, tossing his bag of gear by the door and turning to face you.
“She’s an ex-girlfriend, not a friend!” You argued. “And you’re going out of your way to see her!”
Mat rubbed his forehead, groaning. You stood there, worry building inside your stomach because Mat didn’t tell you, no you found out because she texted him saying she cant wait to see him. You didn’t believe Mat would have told you and that was continually hitting you square in the chest. You knew Mat wouldn’t cheat, but it made you wonder if he was unhappy in the relationship and it was making you second guess everything.
Eventually, Mat looked up at you. There was sadness inside his eyes and his jaw unclenched as he watched you reach up and quickly wipe at a tear. “Maybe we should take a break.”
His words hit you like a ton of bricks. A break?
“When I come home, we can talk.” Mat breathed.
You tightened your jaw until it hurt, looking to your left and at anything but him. What could you possibly say? You didn’t want a break, but you weren’t going to keep showing him weakness. Not when he had a pretty blonde waiting for him in Vancouver.
Mat lingered for a second, waiting for you to respond. Wondering if he made the right choice, but seeing you standing there and looking so small in his blue Islanders shirt made him want to ditch the road trip coming up and stay here with you.
Eventually, he moved. He took his bags and was out the door.
To you, a break meant break up. Especially when you haven’t really spoken to Mat. His trip was only a week and a half long, but you visited his apartment to get his mail and when he texted you, asking if you had, you answered simply with one words. You didn’t want to think about him visiting his ex-girlfriend, and how seeing her might be the grass is greener on the other side. But you figured since neither of you talked about the fight, he didn’t call and you certainly didn’t, you figured it might really be over between the two of you.
Your friends told you to just wait until he came home, urging you to just pick up the phone but what did you really do in the first place to deserve a break(up)? You asked him if he was really thinking of seeing his ex-girlfriend and then it started in on how he had no space. You two didn’t live together and for the most part you only stayed over on his rare days off.
Despite the two of you maybe over, you got together with the other WAGs to watch the last game of the road trip. They ended it with a game in New York, playing against the Rangers. You didn’t tell anyone what happened, but they could tell something was up, especially when you stayed quiet when they were all swapping stories of what the boys had gotten up too.
You felt like you were just walking around life. You went to work, went home and hit the repeat button. You just wanted Mat to be happy and you prayed that it was you he would be happy with, but if it wasn’t, you didn’t want to stand in the way.
Maybe you two were moving too fast. You were twenty-four and he was a year younger, he was a hockey player and gorgeous. Maybe he should be out exploring life with other women, instead of planning for a future with you. You held back the tears when the realization hit you, watching Mat skate around and play the game that ended up being his life.
When you got home, you held the tears back until you got into bed. It took you a long while until you stopped crying and your body gave into exhaustion.
~~
“You going home to Y/N?” Tito asked after him and Mat walked out of the arena and to the bus that’s been carting them from city and city and would bring them back to their own arena, where their cars have been sitting.
Mat felt his chest collapse in on itself when he remembered what he was going home too. He had been praying since the moment he left Long Island that you would at least stay at his apartment while he was gone, and the more the hours ticked into days the more he wished he was coming home too you.
“Yeah, Grace said Y/N was at her place, watching the game.” His reasoning was that his place was closer to Anders than your own.
In all honesty, the second he walked out of his apartment, dropping a bomb in your face, he texted his ex-girlfriend and cancelled on her. For a few days, he was carrying around the weight of what happened, but then that weight brought itself into the games and he just couldn’t get his head in it. It was then that his captain pulled him aside and made him talk about it. It was a long talk and after, Mat felt better but he didn’t know how to make things better with you.
He didn’t know how to bring up what happened, so he settled for asking if you would bring up his mail whenever you had time to swing over. He asked silly questions, things he knew didn’t matter but he was looking for any reason to talk to you, but your replies were short and distant and you didn’t pick up the one time he tried to facetime you.
When he walked through the door of his apartment, it was too quiet. Normally, if you were there he walked into warmth. The apartment would smell like the dinner you made, the lingering scents of coffee, maybe even an uncorked half bottle of wine. Instead, your shoes weren’t at the door. Your keys weren’t hanging up and his doorman told him he hadn’t seen you in days.
Mat walked further into his apartment and found a cream basket sitting on the coffee table, the only light came from the kitchen, but from what he could make out, it was his things. Three sweatshirts, ones he gave to you because he knew you’d get more use out of them. A few ties he had been missing and wondering where they went, forgetting he left them at your apartment. And his cologne he kept there for nights you missed him while he was away and for when he slept over at your place.
This was you returning his items.
This was you taking the break as a breakup.
Losing you suddenly felt more real to him, you had been slipping through his fingers before he even had the chance to try and hold on to you. Mat felt like the apartment was closing in on him, his heart shattering into a million pieces. He could no longer wait until the next day, he didn’t care that it was 1 in the morning.
None of it mattered if it meant losing you, all because he was an idiot. Mat rushed out of his apartment and got into his car, taking the fifteen minute drive to your place. He didn’t mean for seeing his ex-girlfriend to be a problem for you, nor did he feel like you were suffocating him in the relationship when he reminded himself of the nights he secretly wished for you to be more clingy. He took your cool and self assured outer shell for granted, believing it was okay, when he should have known that reconnected with an ex and not warning your current girlfriend was a huge fat no.
By the time he was banging on your door, tears filled his eyes. He couldn’t stop feeling like he was going to faint. He didn’t care if he woke up the whole building, he was seeing you, even if someone called the cops on him.
~~
The banging wouldn’t stop and for a while, you thought it was your headache, but when you rolled over, you realized the banging wasn’t in your head and it sounded like your front door was going to fly off the hinges.
Thinking it was an emergency, whether it was family or a friend it didn’t matter, but you flew out of bed. Snatching a sweatshirt off the floor and running to the front door. You unlocked it and ripped it open, but what you saw in front of you stole your breath away.
Mat was panting, like he just ran thirty miles. His eyes were rimmed with red and his cheeks were pale.
“Mat, what’s wrong?” you asked, just shocked to see him at two in the morning.
“You’re not leaving me.” he stated, shaking his head. “You’re not.”
           “Mat,” you started.
“I don’t want a break, I don’t want a break up, I don’t want you to pack up my things and give them back to me. I don’t want to be strangers with you, I don’t want,” Mat’s voice broke and he cut himself off.
Your own tears filled your eyes and you squeezed the doorknob to keep yourself grounded. You didn’t have any time to prepare for Mat as he stepped into you and grabbed the back of your thighs, squeezing them until they wrapped around his waist and he dug his face into your neck.
A quiet sob raced out of your mouth as you wrapped your arms around his neck, one of his hands touching the small of your back. Your fingers dug into his long hair and you felt him shiver into your body, his breath tickling your skin.
“I love you, baby.” He whispered into your neck, holding you as all the other emotions rippled through you. “I’m never letting you go.”
“Don’t walk away from me again,” you whimpered, getting shirt damp with tears.
Mat pulled his head back and touched his palm to your cheek, wiping at the tears the way he wanted too 10 days ago. His heart broke at the sight of you, eyes swollen and crying, lip worried raw. “I’ll never do it again, I promise.”
You nodded and Mat leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to your mouth. When you pulled back, you dug yourself into his neck again, squeezing his body. Mat stepped further into your apartment and kicked your door shut.
“You gonna let me stay the night?” He asked, reaching and flicking the lock over after realizing neither one of you wanted to let go.
“You can stay forever.” You grumbled, your words muffled by his skin.
Mat smiled softly to himself, heading towards your bedroom. “I’ll take you up on that invitation.”

tis is ranon! i wanna try the twisted match-up eventho it'll probably hurts. my worst traits would be
1. Not knowing myself well enough, having to ask others how i actually am from their eyes instead of looking through my own lense because I care of other's judgement better than mine.
2. I suck at handling compliment. Everytime anybody says anything good about me, I always get defensive by saying no, change the topic of the conversation, or saying "thank you, but [insert why i don't deserve compliment]"
3. Similar to the 2nd one, I have horrible horrible self esteem. I never really look at myself in a good light, I think I am horrible. Sometimes I feel like "im the worst" yet some of the times I feel like "woah I'm a queen". Even worse, sometimes I don't have the motivation to better myself in order to raise my self esteem.
My favourite(s) would be reiner and jean, you can choose the one with the worst(or whoever you prefer) compatibility with my traits. tears up already as I slip 1 dollar to your hand, whispering happy ending please..

"It's nice to see a familiar face 'round here."
There was no word that could describe the feelings you had upon hearing that voice. A voice that was once the first sound you hear in the morning and the one you say goodbye to before falling asleep. A voice that you had not heard for what felt like forever.
You didn't have to turn around to tell who it was, "Jean?"
The two of you erupted in laughter, both surprised by the mere coincidence of meeting each other at this old and ran-down department store, on the outskirt of the town you both grew up in.
Jean was quick to pull you into a big embrace that you gladly came into. A familiar piece of warmth was his hug, and yet it had struck you as odd that it did not feel foreign at the closest, although it had been years since the last time you met him.
Jean had grown very tall. There was no longer his signature undercut as he had let his hairs to grow past his ear. His chiseled jaw hid beneath dark brown beard he now had. You pretended to check him out and be shocked with the view, "You really grew! Like grew, GREW!" as if you hadn't seen him on the news station or the daily mail. As if you didn't follow his Instagram with your second account. As if you never thought of him at all.
He held your shoulder and pulled away to look at you, "Thirteen years and you don't look any different."
Your face grew hot and the compliment sent an uncanny discomfort to your guts, "Ah the lighting sucks here - to my advantage, fortunately."
There was a disapproving look in Jean's eyes for a passing moment before he carried on with the conversation. He didn't expect to see you at the old department store the two of you used to roam in after school, he said. Neither did you to ever meet him again, especially here. A place so awfully ordinary for someone who had grown to be the best version of himself. Jean had finally achieved his dream to be a household name in the country as one of the rising young attorneys.
The celebrity status he had achieved, all the actresses and models he had dated - it all inflicted you with some kind of inexplicable pain. One that made you feel worthless, to say the least. Someone who used to be so close to your heart, had grown so magnificently, leaving you with the painful fate of being ordinary. Yet, still your face lit up in distant pride each time a mention of Jean’s name surfaced, be it from the passing conversation your friend had, or to see it announced by the news anchor for some big public case he was working on.
Jean said that he returned home for a funeral. His uncle died, and he needed a spare sandal. He didn't know any other store, as the area both of you grew up in had changed a lot. Leaving this old department store the only place he could remember.
You passed your condolence but he was more curious with what you were up to. You chuckled because he seemed so serious when he asked, "Didn't you move out to the city? Why the hell are you coming back?" as if the misplacement of seeing someone so glitzy in this boring, dilapidated town didn't apply to him.
So you answered, and Jean turned silent for a moment. He tilted his head downward, and you noticed that he was the same person with the same mannerism. Although he was no longer the 17-year-old boy who used to get all ruffed up in school fight, trying to defend you from some stupid jocks; nor was he still the tall, lanky kid from your Home Economics class that you gave your first kiss to.
Your mind couldn’t help but to race to all the what-ifs, and the presence of Jean before your eyes right now only made the wonderings more palpable.
Jean smiled faintly to your answer, “Congratulations,” he still made his way to pat the side of your head, something he used to do every time, “big step, huh?”
“Yeah, it’s scary.”
“So, who’s the lucky guy? Anyone I know from school?” Jean said, faking the enthusiasm in his tone, but you didn’t notice. Because in your mind, it would be an absurd idea to think that you would still have the tiniest bit of effect on Jean, for he had outgrown all the memories he ever had with you.
“No, no,” you tried to mask the bitterness that suddenly emerged on the back of your tongue, “we met at work. He’s a great guy.”
Indeed, he was. The reason why you returned home was because you were getting married, and your fiancée wanted to be close with your family, for he didn’t have one growing up. He was an exceptional man, he had this magnetism in him, with the way he perceived things, to the abiding tenacity he had in him.
Your fiancée was a man you knew you could lean on in the eye of adversity. That’s why you agreed to marry him. But then again, there was always a void inside your heart that had no resolve to it for so many years. Your fiancée was your foundation, and yet, perhaps selfishly, you still yearned for the childish laughter and the irreplaceable feeling of freedom you once had with the man standing tall before you. Whose glance never failed to make you feel the most at ease with.
“He must be a pretty great guy to get you,” Jean’s faint smile grew into a grin, he was trying to down play the commotion he started to feel within his chest, “what’s his name? So, I can picture him.”
You laughed, because it was only natural for you to do so in the presence of the first guy you had fallen for, the first guy to ever told you how pretty you were and how all your imperfections never mattered to him, the first one to bring your teary face into his embrace after a gruesome day, before saying, ‘I never thought it’s possible. But, crazy, seeing you cry hurts me too.’
However, you knew, that all those memories had passed by and you were happy with where you were now. “Reiner,” you smiled at the mention of his name, “my fiancée’s name is Reiner Braun. He’s… amazing.”
“Wow. Tough name. Probably someone I’d stay clear from in high school.”
Both of you laughed, and the two of you continued to talk, as you walked him through the desolated alleys to find the sandal that he wanted to buy, and Jean walking you to the towel aisle that you had meant to buy one for Reiner, only to find out that they had stopped selling towels since long time ago. The laughter and reminiscing persisted until the cashier row when Jean heard your stomach grumble. Both of you exchanged glances and broke into yet another laughter.
“Salerno’s?” Jean said, suggesting the pizza place off the highway, where you had spent so many dates with him back then.
“How could I ever say no to that?”
“Settled, then. Did you drive here?” Jean’s eyes gazed afar to the parking lot, strangely looking for the old car you used to drive back in school, before realizing that thirteen years had passed and there was no chance that sickly car could ever survive the time.
“No, actually Reiner dropped me and—” As if staged by the universe, your phone rung and Reiner was calling, “—right in time, it’s him!”
You walked away from Jean for a moment as he looked for his car key inside jacket. Across the line, Reiner was gruntling, his voice was hazy, “Babe—”
“Reiner, I bumped into an old friend!” there was a sing-songy tone in your words. Through the phone, Reiner chuckled, picking up the excitement in your voice, even though it was getting more apparent that Reiner was drowsy, “Anyway babe, can you get an Uber? I took the cough syrup your mum gave me, and now I’m sleepy as fuck. ‘Fraid I won’t be able to drive.”
You turned to Jean and saw him jingling his car key at you, before returning back to Reiner on the phone, “Rei, I think my friend can drive me home. I’ll be stopping at Salerno’s, do you want anything? The calzone maybe?”
Reiner yawned, “That sounds nice but—” yet another yawn, “I’m gonna pass out. Come home soon, okay? Tuck me in.”
You cackled at the buff man whining before you said goodbye and followed Jean into his car.
The trip to Salerno’s was nourishing with memories. The poplar trees along the avenue had been replaced by lines of billboards – from advertisement of real estate agent to divorce attorney, they all reminded you of how much the town had changed. Yet the sense of comfort you shared with Jean as you joked about all of the absurd things you saw along the way, had not changed at all.
If for one second you forgot that you were driving in Jean’s expensive car, and that you imagined he was wearing a shabby soccer jersey instead of a tailored-fit shirt – if you closed your eyes and thought that thirteen years hadn’t gone by between the two of you, it almost felt like you rode a time machine to a time when Jean was yours and you were his. And something about the thought of it just broke your heart.
When Jean pulled over at Salerno’s and found out that it’s past the time for dine-in, the two of you decided to eat at his car instead. Jean didn’t even ask what you want and he returned with exactly what you had in mind, the classic calzone, something you always used to have. He remembered.
The two of you laughed, bantered and joked at each other. It felt almost as if no distance had ever been laid out between the two of you, like you hadn’t lived an entirely different life, like he was the same person after all. He hadn’t once made you self-conscious like you thought you would, considering the amount of success he had attained for himself. You felt bad for accusing Jean of the worst, when all it was just a projection of your own insecurity.
“So, you’re getting married on the 15th, and your annoying aunt is not invited?”
“Yeah, thank God for the pandemic somehow. Legit excuse, when all I wanted was not to have her talk shit about Reiner on my wedding day,” you munched through your calzone, talking mindlessly, “as for you, sir, you’re invited. That’s a no-brainer. Hereby I invite thee to my humble dwelling. Bring your model girlfriend, please, so I can brag to my cousins.”
His grin subsided into a weak smile and then into nothing at all, as he sipped on his coke. Suddenly awkward silence loomed within the small space of his car.
“Jean,” you shifted in your seat as the guilt grew on you, realizing the error in your judgment, “sorry I was being presumptuous.”
“No worries, it wasn’t serious. None of it ever was.”
You nodded, engulfed in your own guilt for bringing a bad topic up. The silence let the radio’s murmur to become noticeable, and an old song had just been played through the local radio, a tune that you used to listen with him on the back of your old creaking car after a make-out session filled with enraging teenage hormones.
And I’m in so deep~
You know I’m such a fool for you~
You got me wrapped around your finger I—
Do you have to let it linger?
You sighed and finally looked at Jean with his head hanging low, “Do you want to settle down someday?”
“Eventually.” Jean answered nonchalantly, “Not even sure about the whole relationship thingy.”
“Oh.” An acknowledgment you voiced, before succumbing to yet another silence.
Jean called your name softly and when you turned to face him, he was looking at you. Even in the darkness of the parking lot, you could see his honey eyes gleamed in a look that was so familiar to you—a look of disappointment, “Tell me, how could you never end up working where you’ve always wanted to be?”
You were pulled even deeper into your silence as you looked away. Suddenly a hot rash of sadness started to swallow you whole, “I—”
You tried to voice out a tangible reason, but you had realized that all of it was your own doing. Your insecurity, your self-consciousness, the thought that you were never good enough for the thing you once wanted so bad; all of it led to a life unlived, and to have someone finally putting you in your place was embarrassing, if not painful, “—wasn’t sure if I really wanted it and—”
“—wasn’t sure if I was good enough to pass the test.”
“So, after college, you never ended up applying there? Not even a try?”
You shook your head embarrassed, looking down at your shoes.
Jean sighed and laid his food on the dashboard, before reaching for your right hand and held it warmly into his grasp. He called your name which propelled you to look back at him, “Weren’t you the one who talked me into getting into law school? Even when I thought it was impossible? Weren’t you the one who wrote on my yearbook to-my-future-attorney when everyone was convinced that I’d end up working a mediocre office job? Or a mechanic in my Dad’s shop?”
Jean carried on, “I just… I just don’t understand. How could you have so much conviction for other people but—but yourself?”
You passed a grim smile, as vulnerability started to catch up with you, “Nevermind Jean, it’s passed. I am where I am now.”
“But, wasn’t it your dream?” Jean grew antsy on his seat, it was obvious that he truly didn’t understand, “The pages and pages and pages of diary you wrote about wanting to work there? What happened?”
You sighed, running out of words to say, until you caved in, “Maybe I never knew what I truly wanted.”
“Is that why?” Jean shot another look at you, there was an intensity in his eyes that you had never seen before. There you wondered what had happened to Jean’s life in all those years passed at your absence, had he led a difficult life before getting the success he was enjoying now? “Is that why you left me—because you didn’t know what you truly want?”
Jean understood the consequence of his action, he was a well-accomplished attorney after all. He also understood the vivid pain painted all over your face, but he was taking his shot. Years of wondering where had you gone, what kind of live had you lived – you never ceased to haunt him, all the what-ifs with you he always thought about whenever he broke off yet another meaningless relationship with yet another woman he’d never cared for in his life. Over the years, he’d taken a close look at you. He’d find you on the internet, he’d asked about you to friends of a friend that was still in touch with you, he’d ‘accidentally’ found your legal documents just to see that you had gotten your college degree one year earlier than him. He didn’t know why the thought of you lingered, you just did. Arriving into his dreams where he was seventeen again and unassuming, only for him to wake up disappointed at seeing a woman that wasn’t you in his bed.
For the longest time, Jean had fended for himself to be where he’s now. When survival had finally bore fruits, what else could there be for him? Still, he felt lonely in the embrace of another woman, still he felt the void persisted even if he spent his money on things he didn’t need. Jean never thought, that after years of dreaming to be the person he’s now, all he yearned for was to have a piece of simple, ordinary and innocent happiness he once had with you.
You were, after all, the only thing that could remind him of the innocence Jean had lost after years of grueling work as an attorney—seeing how corrupt and insidious men can be. So, when his wearied eyes landed on the sight of you this evening, in the alley of that long-forgotten Department Store, Jean had no choice but to finally face his haunting.
“Jean, it’s a long time ago,” you smile, cupping his hand with your free hand, “besides, I’m no longer your type, right?” A grin, a playful grin, painfully fabricated and Jean saw right through it.
You could feel the air had gotten thick in his car, and you shifted closer to the door. Jean let go of your hand as he moved closer to you, running his long fingers through your hair. His voice had gotten deep and you could sense a hint of pain in his words, “Maybe I never had a type.”
He dragged his gaze all over your face; your eyes, your nose, your lips – the way he used to reassure that you were so beautiful in his eyes despite the self-hate you inflicted upon yourself, “Maybe all I ever wanted was you and all I ever did with those girls was to try finding you in them,” he forced a smile, so stale, so painful, “to no avail.”
You could feel the air into your lung was compromised as you battled the tears, “Jean…”
“Out of so many things that I have been brave for, I was never brave enough for one thing that I needed the most: to tell you that it’s always been you,” Jean slithered his hands through your waist and pulled you into his embrace. He laid his head, heavy with loneliness and exhaustion on to the nook of your shoulder. For lack of better term, Jean was finally back home, as he muttered, letting go of all his inhibitions, “Baby, it’s always been you. It’s always been you.”
Your whole body was weak with emotions. The thoughts, the persistent ones – the what-ifs you could have had with Jean, the life you could have lived and the dream that could have been fulfilled. Without your permission, the tears fell to your dismay as you thought of one last thing remaining in your heart: Reiner. The way he smiled and listened all through your nightly despairs, caressing you close until you fell asleep, exhausted with tears dried up all over your face. The way Reiner whispered on to your ear, amidst your drowsiness, that he loved you and that he promised to make you whole, to fill the void you had always feared for. All the little things he had done without you asking, or the way he loved your family as if they were his own.
You cursed yourself for being surprised at how much you realized that you truly loved Reiner, even when you were in the embrace of someone you wondered about often. You realized, the best way to prove to someone that you love them was to stick around. And Reiner had stuck around, as much as you stuck around for him.
You left Jean long time ago for reasons you only vaguely remembered now, but life went on and sooner or later you should make it in your heart to accept it. You smiled and thought of your life. Sure, there was a lot of thing you need to patch up, but what is life if not persevering?
You pulled away from Jean, surprised to see a beaten look on his face. Far away from the dandy and sharp young attorney you would see on the news. Once, you loved this man, but years had passed and the one he wanted was no longer there. You were no longer the person you were thirteen years ago. You were no longer the girl Jean longed for, all he wished for was a passing ghost that you have left behind in your adolescence.
You caressed his cheek for the last time and landed a kiss to his forehead, “Jean, I’m so proud of you. How far you have gone. I’m sorry I wouldn’t be the one you’d share your future achievement with, but for all the things you have done to me, for seeing the good in me when I could hardly see it… I want to say thank you,” you smiled although pain was searing within your chest, “there’s a world out there where this would work out. But not this world.”
The unexpected rendezvous you had with the man whom you had given your first love to ended with both of you crying at each other’s embrace, until Salerno’s closed and turned off their lights.
When Jean finally dropped you at your childhood home, the place he used to spend all the times in, Jean smiled and pointed at your room with the lights still lit, “He’s waiting?”
“I think he’s asleep. He’s a deep sleeper, he forgets to turn off the lights every time.”
“Does he even fit in your tiny bed?”
“Well, you did fit.”
“For a time.”
“Yeah, for a time.”
“So, you’ll be Mrs. Braun?”
“Yep, Mrs. Braun I will be.”
Jean scoffed, pretending to be annoyed, but smiling nonetheless, “Lucky bastard, that Mr. Braun.”

Before the Night Ends
Dean/Castiel, 2.1k words, post-Wedding/pre-Honeymoon
ao3
It's been a wedding for the ages. Dean and Castiel finally tied the knot, with guests flying in from all across America, Heaven, Hell - even the Empty. But everything must come to an end, and after a wonderful Roadhouse reception Dean and Cas drove off in Baby and off towards their honeymoon.
Except, it's a long drive from Kansas plains to California beaches. They stop close to midnight at a motel along the highway, to sleep, celebrate their wedding night and that it's Valentine's Day, too.
There’s a motel off Highway 70 called Angel’s Paradise, first established in the early 1900s, and last renovated in 1982. The owners back then, who remain so today, envisioned heaven as some tropical destination. That meant each room, alike in their simplicity and functionality, would be redone along these guidelines. Walls plastered with paper-print palm fronds and blooming, pink flowers. Bathrooms tiled a light blue – like waters from the clearest ocean – and little soaps shaped like shells to match the shell-patterned shower curtain. They’d have an entertainment unit housing a small television set would double as a dust collector, various ocean-themed knick-knacks cluttered atop it, ranging from homemade to store bought. A wicker table situated between two wicker chairs, a wicker dresser placed next to the entertainment unit and a wicker bed-or-beds layered by their own palm fronds, matching the walls. Finally, tying the décor together was a little (wicker) side table near the door with a plastic conch set to catch keys or loose change or cigarette ash. Given these changes, any customer might imagine they were in Florida rather then Colorado, or it was June instead of February. Especially in the crown jewel of Angel’s Paradise, the Honeymoon Suite.
Except the Suite’s current boarders were very aware of where and when they are. Probably because they have yet to see their room for the night.
Dean tucks his hands into his elbows, shivering outside the Suite while Cas fiddles with its doorknob. “Come on,” he whines, “what’s the hold-up?”
Cas pauses, turning to Dean. “Sorry,” he says, “the lady at the counter – she said they were having issues since the last occupants. Something about them breaking the lock?”
“Fuckin’ a…” Dean hisses, bouncing now. An icy wind cuts across the parking lot, Dean defenseless to it because he forwent a heavier jacket and how thin the material of his suit was. Castiel looks marginally warmer than Dean, wrapped in his trademark trench coat. Still, Dean notices how his hands tremble while holding the key. Cas’s hand flicks to the left, Dean’s gaze catching the silver band wrapped around his ring finger. One day, he may get used to it. Dean hopes he never does and can experience the same flutter of warmth rippling through his heart from seeing it. He leans into Cas, Dean dropping his head onto Cas’s shoulder. “Who do I have to pray to for this door to open?”
“No one,” Cas declares, lock clicking in time with his words, “because it’s open!”
Dean curses under breath, smiling. “Great,” he says, “let’s get in there, then – hey… hey!”
Swept off his feet, Dean falls into the loving grip of his husband. Cas places one arm at his back, supporting most of the weight, while the other arm traps Dean’s knees, keeping his legs bent and Dean unable to wriggle himself free. Cas smiles down at him, laughing.
“You think this is so funny,” Dean scowls, holding onto Cas’s tie like it were a lifeline. “You little shit –“
“Mr. Shit, Dean,” Cas interrupts, kicking the door open and striding past the threshold, “I did take your last name, after all.”
“My mistake…” He huffs, burying his head in Cas’s chest while he uses the fingers not squeezing Cas’s tie to comb the hairs at his husband’s neck. “Dean and Castiel Shit… I can see the monogramed towels already.” Dean closes his eyes, purring like a kitten while he absorbs the heat that radiates from Cas. It’s inhuman how much of a furnace he was, especially after giving up his grace to live as a human, to be human with Dean. Like always, Dean’s smile widens at the thought. He tries hiding his rapidly flushing face, but Cas tears Dean off of him. He ungraciously dumps Dean onto the bed, blue eyes betraying his cool demeanor as they glow with mirth from Dean’s startled squawking. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Going to get the bags,” he says, moving towards the door, “Why don’t you get comfortable, I’ll only be a moment.”
Dean shakes his head, situating himself better on the bed. He sits at the foot of it, toeing off his snakeskin boots and then peeling off the dark grey dress socks he wore with them. While pulling at his tie, Cas returns with their bags. He doesn’t close the door after, and a blustery chill fills the space. Goosepimples erupt in scattered bunches up and down Dean’s arms. “Close the door!” he yells, dumping the tie onto the slowly growing pile of discarded clothing. His suit jacket joins his tie and socks and boots as Cas deposits their bags by the television. He then hits the door with his elbow, shutting out the wind. Cas gestures at the closed door with a flourish and wry grin. Dean scoffs, “Ugh, who’s bright idea was it to do this in winter?”
“The same man who, on his birthday, said,” Cas drifts closer, helping Dean unbutton his shirt, “and I quote, ‘If you think you can propose to me and not expect us to get married as soon as possible, then you don’t know what you’re signing up for… buddy’.” Cas eases the shirt off Dean’s shoulders, kissing the exposed skin right above his t-shirt. “For the record,” Cas adds, whispering into his collarbone, “I expected it. It was one of the reasons why I couldn’t wait any longer.”
Dean remembers. Their family, together, celebrating Dean’s birthday. His first birthday free from Chuck’s machinations, with a cake Jack spent all day baking and presents that lined the end of the table. He held Cas’s hand as he blew out the candles, mind blank because nothing he could wish for would match the happiness he felt in that moment. He tells Cas this after he asks what he wished for. And Cas, of course, proceeds to kiss him. Cas kisses him while Eileen cut the cake, while Jack helped plate them, and while Sam clapped Dean’s shoulders in warning to reign it in. Dean pulled back, gasping, unsure how he might respond to his then-boyfriend’s passion. Then Cas asked him that all-important, heart-stopping, mind-blowing question, opened a velvet box, and Dean knew exactly what to say.
“I would’ve waited,” Dean reveals, helping Cas with his clothes as Cas guides Dean’s legs out of his slacks. “Everyone knows how long I’ve waited to tell you I love you… I would’ve waited, even if we died and we had to get married in heaven.” Dean pecks Cas’s lips, divesting him of both jackets and his button-down shirt. “I’m glad we didn’t have to, though.”
           “So am I.”
They stand together in t-shirts and boxers, barely an inch of space between them. No one speaks, not that they have to, but the usually comfortable silence makes Dean nervous. His focus drifts from Cas and onto the plastic conch behind him. Then, he notices how the rest of the room is decorated. Dean giggles, “Wow… it’s, this place is…”
Cas nods. Dean needn’t say anything else. “You should’ve seen the inside,” he snickers, “the staff were wearing Hawaiian shirts and shark-tooth necklaces.”
“Hey,” Dean shoves him, “don’t diss Hawaiian shirts.” He collects his clothes and boots, bringing them over to their duffels. “I’ve got about three packed away in here, and I’m planning on buying at least a few more before our honeymoon ends.”
“Should they even be called Hawaiian shirts if we’re not in Hawaii?” Cas asks. Dean hears the mattress squeak, and guesses his husband sat on the bed. He digs through the duffel, Cas monologuing in the background. “Are they called Coloradan shirts since we’re in Colorado? If we buy them in California, won’t they be Californian Shirts? Or is it because they’re made in Hawaii, and then shipped elsewhere? Can you imagine it – shirt factories, dotting the beaches? Oh, I’d hope the workers making all these Hawaiian shirts are at least being paid a fair wage, given how popular they seem to be…”
“There’s no factories on any beaches,” Dean tells him, “and – hate to burst your bubble, angel – but I doubt Hawaiian shirt makers are paid what they deserve, regardless of where their factories are.” Cas hums in that same, sullen note he usually does when the beginning notes of Sarah McLachlan play and Dean can’t switch channels fast enough. He folds his clothes, setting them aside. Then, Dean sneaks his hand into his stack of clean boxers, finding the surprise he hid for his husband. “Hey,” Dean rises, “capitalism sucks, but we can’t let it ruin our trip.” Dean drops onto Cas’s lap, delighting in the tiny ‘oof’ that escapes from his husband. “Here,” he says, “I was saving this for later… but hell, we’re running out of time. I’d rather give it to you before the night ends than a day later.” Dean hands him an envelope, Cas’s name scrawled on the front. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“A card?” Cas asks, flipping the envelope back and forth, “Dean… you didn’t have to get me anything.”
“’Course I did…” Dean presses a kiss to Cas’s temple, ruffling his hair. “It’s Valentine’s Day… probably the first Valentine’s Day I actually wanted to celebrate in a long time, because I’ve got someone I love and want to celebrate. And sure, it’s not like we didn’t do just that… in front of all our friends and families… and a few exes… and uninvited guests –“
           “The point, Dean?”
“Sorry,” Dean lays his head atop Cas’s, watching him peel away the envelope’s glue. “We’ll have tons more holidays and anniversaries to celebrate in the future… I just didn’t want our first Valentine’s Day to be overshadowed by our wedding. You mean so much to me that I’m not gonna just lump the two together like you’re some kid who was unlucky enough to be born on Christmas. You deserve it all.” Cas flips the envelope, shaking its contents free. A pair of red panties floats onto his outstretched hand. “Not just some stinkin’ card.”
Cas squeezes the panties. “Are you –?”
“About to show you how friggin’ fantastic married sex is?” Dean wrangles the panties from Cas’s fist, waving it about like a flag. “You bet. Let me slip these on and…“ He starts towards the bathroom, Cas slowly chasing him.
“You don’t have to,” his husband growls, “you can change here –“
           “Cas, I won’t be long –“
           “I don’t know if I can wait!”
“You’ll have to!” Dean closes the door on Cas’s face, laughing as he hears his husband bang against the door in protest. He yells for Dean, but Dean ignores him. Dean brings his hand to his face, covering his mouth with both it and the panties he carries. They smell like cherries. He forgot to tell Cas they’re edible. Cas will figure that out later.
He’ll also give Cas his real card later, as well. The one he wrote using all the words Dean was too afraid to say at the altar. Little details about the way Cas hogs all the blankets when he sleeps, and how his eyes crinkle when he smiles, and that Cas’s hugs chase away dark thoughts better than any drink might’ve. There were also bigger things he mentioned, in this card. About Cas and his unwavering faith in Dean, even at times where he didn’t deserve it. About the despair that bloomed whenever Cas left his side, a bouquet of horrid, wilted roses growing rampantly over his heart and piercing it with their thorns during those awful times it seemed their last goodbye truly was. About the love Cas inspired within Dean that changed his life, from the very beginning, from the touch of Cas’s hand on his shoulder. That simple act which broke him free from Chuck’s wheel again and again and again. Dean couldn’t say any of this in a crowded room. He doubts he can with only Cas. He already cried enough for one day. So, they’ll have sex instead. After they’ve burned through the remaining fumes that linger in their tanks, Dean will present the card, curl against Cas’s side with his head tucked underneath his husband’s chin, and listen while Cas reads how much he means to Cas.
But that won’t be until later. Now, Dean shimmies out of his boxers. He pulls the panties on, flicking the bow twice once it’s settled. “Are you ready?” Dean croons, jiggling the knob, “because it’s time to ride ‘em, cowboy!”
Cas pries the door loose, almost ripping it off its hinges as pull Dean forward into a searing kiss. Dean smiles into it, letting Cas take lead. Dean’s gift were the panties. Cas’s gift is putting in the work to get them off. Cas throws Dean onto the bed, his mouth attacking Dean’s neck. His hand trails down Dean’s side, tickling and teasing him.
He couldn’t have written a better ending to his story. Or imagine a better beginning to his next.

word count: 1.9k+
If you took one look around the city of Los Angeles, you would have no idea that it was nearing Christmas time. Sure, the city had their decorations up, but when you looked to the people, there was not an ounce of festive spirit to be found. You had no idea why everyone else was so hesitant to start spreading Christmas cheer, but you had been looking forward to celebrating practically since Halloween was over. You had refrained and made yourself wait until the first day of December to break out your favorite Christmas sweater, though it had taken everything in you to stay so patient. You thought that maybe other people might be feeling the spirit now that it was officially December, however, the second you stepped onto the bus that first morning to head to the mall, you realized that you had severely overestimated just how much everyone else loved the December holiday.
A few people gave you strange looks as you walked up the steps in your bright green holiday sweater, the front of which was covered in colorful tinsel and fake ornaments. It was your favorite sweater that you owned, and you had been quite proud of it when you put it on that morning. Now, you weren’t so sure that it had been the right choice. Everyone else was dressed in their nice winter coats and muted colors, and here you were, sticking out like a sore thumb on a public bus where people would be able to judge you for the next thirty minutes of your ride.
You kept your head down as you moved down the aisle towards the back where you had seen an empty seat, but just as you passed the second to last row, you heard a voice that was unmistakably directed at you.
“Hey, I like your sweater!”
You were surprised to hear the compliment from anyone on this particular bus, but when you looked up to find the owner of the voice, you immediately realized why it shouldn’t have been a surprise at all. The boy that had just spoken to you was smiling brightly, and it only took a second for you to see that he was also wearing a rather festive looking outfit himself. Only, his sweater was red and green striped with a reindeer on the front of it. When he moved, you could hear the faint jingling from the small bells that decorated the cartoon deer’s antlers, and an involuntary smile immediately spread across your lips.
“Thanks. I really like yours too,” you replied, gesturing slightly at his chest. The boy’s eyes fell down to look at his sweater, even though he was well aware of what he was wearing, and then he lifted his head again to give you another bright smile.
“Thanks! Did you… did you want to sit?” It was a rather forward question you thought, but there was an empty seat right next to him, and you figured if you were going to make it through this bus ride without too much more embarrassment, you might as well sit with someone who clearly had a mind that worked like yours. So, you nodded, and slid into the seat next to the boy just as he lifted his hand up for you to shake. “I’m Reggie, by the way.”
You looked at his hand for a moment before happily accepting it and giving him your name as well. You felt yourself relax as you settled in next to him, and even though you had felt like everyone was staring at you before, when you took another quick glance around the bus, you were relieved to see that no one was looking in your direction at all. Maybe you had been overreacting just a bit.
“So, where are you heading too?” Reggie asked, as he attempted to keep the conversation going. You felt bad for being so quiet, and when you looked back over at him, you smiled again.
“To the mall. I was trying to get some of my Christmas shopping done early. You know, to beat the really bad crowds.” Reggie’s face lit up as his body turned towards you even more.
“That’s what I’m doing too! Well, to get some things for my friends, anyways. We’re doing our gift exchange a little early, so I want to make sure that I can get them something good.”
The excitement on Reggie’s face was one that directly mirrored yours, and you felt lucky that you had stumbled upon someone with the same enthusiasm for Christmas that you did. In fact, you spent the rest of the bus ride talking about your Christmas plans, and while Reggie constantly brought up his friends, you couldn’t help but notice that he didn’t mention much about his family. You knew better than to press, as he was still a stranger, but you became more and more intrigued as the conversation went on.
You were disappointed when you reached your stop, but when you went to stand up and Reggie did too, you looked at him curiously, and another bright smile formed on his lips.
“Is this your stop too?” you asked, even though you probably should have figured it was. He had said that he was going to the mall, and this was the closest one on your route. It didn’t really make sense for him to stay on to head to one farther away, especially since he had been on the bus longer than you had.
“Yep! It looks like we aren’t getting rid of each other quite yet,” he replied happily, and you felt a stirring in your chest as you stepped into the aisle and made your way towards the front of the bus. You didn’t look to see if people were staring as you walked because now, you weren’t quite as self-conscious about it. With Reggie right behind you, you barely noticed anyone else.
“So, these friends of yours,” you started, as the two of you walked across the parking lot of the mall side by side. “What kinds of things are they into?” You were hoping that his previous comment meant that you weren’t going to be parting just yet, as you had become quite fascinated by the Christmas sweater boy.
“Well, we’re in a band and I know Luke is always in need of journals to write songs in, so I thought I would get him one of those. Alex and Bobby are a little bit harder, but I’m sure I’ll find something. I’ll know it when I see it.”
The fact that he was in a band was something that Reggie hadn’t mentioned yet, and it was something that peaked your interest even more. You loved going to local shows and small venues to see bands perform.
“You’re in a band? Really?” you asked excitedly, and once again, Reggie’s face lit up at the question. You could tell immediately that it was a subject he loved to talk about.
“Yeah! We’re called Sunset Curve. Tell your friends.” He added the last part with a quick finger-guns motion and you couldn’t help but laugh. His band wasn’t one that you could recall seeing, but either way, you loved his enthusiasm, and you were sure that was something that translated into his music.
You talked about the band and his music while you walked around various stores, and you learned that he played bass and while his band wasn’t well known yet, they had several gigs lined up in the near future.
“You should come to one,” he added as color filled his cheeks. You had just stepped out of one of the record stores located near the food court when he said it, and your steps hesitated a bit as you felt the familiar tug in your chest that you had experienced earlier when getting off the bus. You slowly looked up at him, and his eyes fixed on you, his cheeks a light pink at his rather forward suggestion. Not that it was the first one he had proposed that day.
“I’d love to,” you grinned, and relief flooded his features as you then started walking once again.
You had to admit, you liked spending time with Reggie. You had only met him a couple of hours before, but the fact that you got along so well made it seem longer. From an outsider looking in, you might not have guessed that you had just met on a bus on the way to the mall, and instead, you might have looked more like longtime friends doing their holiday shopping together.
“Thank you again, by the way,” you spoke about an hour later as you sat across from each other at a table in the food court. You had both already finished your shopping, so now you were recharging with some greasy mall food. Reggie tilted his head slightly in confusion at your words, encouraging you to explain yourself. “For saying something to me on the bus. Today has been a lot of fun, and I’m glad that I’m not the only one that seems to enjoy Christmas around here.”
Reggie’s expression softened as he smiled.
“Of course! I mean, I always have to appreciate a good sweater. Especially when the person wearing it is so…” His voice trailed off, and his eyes fell away from you as his face went red once more. Your heart jumped in your chest at his words, even though you weren’t sure how he was intending on ending that sentence.
“So… what?” you pressed. “So lost? So embarrassed? So-“
“Beautiful.”
His word caught you off guard, and you were sure that you looked incredibly silly as your mouth fell open slightly. It wasn’t really what you had been expecting, but a warmth spread through you when his eyes hesitantly lifted to meet yours. You didn’t know how to respond, and in the silence, it seemed that Reggie had taken your lack of response negatively.
“I’m sorry. I probably shouldn’t have said that. I just…when I first saw you, I thought ‘wow’, and I wanted to say something sooner, but I didn’t want to come off creepy. But, it seems like I did that anyways, and I am so, so, so, sorry-”
“Reggie,” you cut in, breaking up his panicked rambling. His mouth immediately clamped shut at the sound of your voice, and his wide eyes locked with yours as he waited for you to continue. “I don’t think it’s creepy at all. I think it’s sweet, actually. I just… as you can imagine, I don’t have a lot of strangers randomly compliment me.”
“I actually can’t imagine that,” Reggie piped in quickly, causing another flutter in your chest. “And I’m not really a stranger anymore either, if you think about it.” He was right, and you couldn’t deny it. You had spent most of the day together at this point, and you had shared quite a bit of your lives with one another, so ‘stranger’ didn’t really fit the description anymore.
You were sure that you looked like quite the pair, sitting together in your bright Christmas attire, chatting over overpriced pizza and smiling like fools. However, even though you had started the day caring what people were thinking about you, when you were in the presence of the boy sitting across from you, you found that it didn’t matter anymore. Reggie was special, and it took you no time at all to realize it. You were especially grateful for ugly Christmas sweaters that day.

long post. one i’ve been trying to make for a while now. hell, i wrote this like... third week of may. didn’t post it until now because i didn’t know if I wanted to.
but something i want to lay out, been wanting to lay out for months. dont want to talk to anyone about it, just want to put the info out there for it to be seen.
if you re/blog this i will block you. i may put this on the relevant sideblog at some point.
because 2020 was the worst year on record for me for a number of reasons, and it’s torn me down to the lowest point i’ve been in a long time, and this is just. everything that’s gone down. not a callout post, no one gets named, but these are all the events
partially in relation to my fandom sideblog, because that’s where i had community, and where it’s all just. gone. doesnt exist anymore.
i started up a server, ages ago now. somewhere i curated to be a positive and safe space for things, and for a while, it was that.
around the end of 2019, spilling over to the start of 2020 when it picked up, i found, both on my blog and in discord spaces, in particular the server i ran, that people no longer talked to me. no one would hold a conversation with me past a few basic responses, no one replied to anything i shared, no one engaged when i tried to start discussions. so i pulled back from the main server - S1. thought it was just a lull in activity. stayed that way for weeks, months, and I just muted the server. no one ever cared about anything i had to say. was lucky if anything i posted got even a token emoji react
was in another, smaller server - S2. people i talked to damn near every day, even in voice. played games together - that became... no fun simply because everyone else was so much better/further ahead in the game. i was completely useless, so didn’t server a function in game and never really felt like anyone actively wanted me around, but i still participated in chat.
but again, no one ever responded to anything I posted beyond maybe a token react
couple people discussing something one day. I contributed with Theory A, and quite immediately got that shut down. few minutes later, they rephrased exactly what I said and happily nattered away. so whatever I said wasn’t worth it when it came out of my mouth but if they talked about it, it was all well and valid. so again, between that specific experience and no one interacting with me, nor anything I post. server muted. treatment taught me no one cared about my presence there.
gave admin rights to S1, my server, to someone I trusted. two requests only: dont delete channels and let me know if you want to invite anyone (since I kept it private)
RYE (i’m just assigning random three letter names to people to keep this straight) posted public invites several times. never asked me. one of the two things i asked. brought it up with them that it bothered me, just got vague noncomittal responses. more public invites. eventually, after having the server muted for months, i handed over full control and left. that was almost a full year ago. none of the people have talked to me in that entire year, through discord or here or anything.
except RYE who sent me a message after a couple months like ‘wow i havent heard from you in a while hope you’re doing ok’. i wasn’t. after a bit but still the same day, i said as much. that i wasn’t doing well. they never responded. and i don’t mean like, they didn’t respond that day. i mean i literally never heard from them until months later when they sent me a meme and also didn’t respond to me commenting on that meme.
and this is one side of things. all of the above was the first half of the year. this next bit happened about. march2020? I was in another server - S3. another place that was a good space at the time. was in voice chat with two other people. started talking about one thing. MIN very suddenly said something along the lines of ‘i don’t care about this i’ll come back when you’re done’
this is one of the very few things that can trigger me - i’ve had a lot of people talk down to me if I dare look excited about anything. when they came back, i asked if they could try to just. depart conversations more softly. MIN always said ‘if i do anything hurtful to you just tell me! i dont want to do that kind of thing!’
this was clearly a lie as they exploded on me, telling me they always have to walk on eggshells around me, that I ask so many things from them. before what I asked them that day, I can only recall one other thing i asked (which was not to talk about a person who was abusive towards me, and they were like ‘yea sure np’ about that, over a year prior’)
the whole thing turned into basically me having to shut down the fact that i was hurt by what they did, had to ignore that now and i had to fawn and placate them and the only thing i got out of that was that my feelings were irrelevant, only theirs.
(incidentally, I have had two other people turn on me in similar ways, accusing me of doing shifty/bad/terrible things, and not being willing to tell me what they are when I ask, only saying that ‘i should know what i did’ so that’s also now a Fun New Bit Of Trauma.)
and that entire weeklong event lead me straight to a breakdown. literal genuine breakdown i cannot convey how devastating that entire scenario was without going into far too many details.
so between all of these things happening in less than six months, with three different community spaces folding and collapsing and fading away from me, with many of the friends i thought i had just. moving on to other things and dropping me. people i talked to every day just not bothering with me anymore. they all have gone on to other stuff and no one ever went ‘hey beets wanna see what i’m up to’ or ‘wanna do this thing with me’
a handful of instances of me saying ‘yeah i’m dealing with these fears that have been reinforced lately that people aren’t safe to deal with, even thought part of me knows they’re probably irrational it feels like i have evidence to back it up’ and people immediately take it personally like i’m saying they’re not safe. despite. me outright saying. i know logically it should be irrational. but their reactions just reinforce it so it’s just a loop and tells me, again, never to bring up any of my problems with anyone.
so this all just reinforces that there’s something wrong with me. couple years back i spoke to a friend and how i was frustrated that I seemed to end up in bad spaces and they said ‘well you’re the one thing in common so its probably your fault’ and obviously they’re not my friend anymore but that has affected me so deeply. i can’t do anything without overthinking, whenever anything goes wrong i tear apart everything i’ve done and everything i’ve said or thought and i don’t know why things keep going bad. i try so hard but i’m just. not right.
so it all teaches me that there’s no point in reaching out in trying to talk to people because if i say ‘hey this hurt me’ i get ignored at best or torn down, yelled at, scolded. no point in trying to talk to new people because everyone just walks away at some point. not even a natural drift apart, i can handle that. but just very suddenly, they’re gone, off with better people doing better things.
roundabout, ties back to ‘consumption versus community’ - this is why i’ve been struggling so hard with lack of engagement on my sideblog. lucky to get a dozen notes on anything i make, unless it’s something other people can use (like mods) and even THEN it’s rare to see much activity. and that was FINE because i had people to talk to elsewhere, who would ask questions and we could back and forth and i shared my stuff and they shared those and it didnt matter if my posts only got a dozen notes because i had friends to talk to.
now i get (example) seven notes, six of which are likes and one is a reblog with no commentary. when i have something with a ton of notes, still, minimal commentary, no one talks to me. even on a mod with five hundred notes it just feels like i went ‘hey i made something :)’ and everyone picked it up and walked away with it, no one went ‘hey this is cool i want to talk to the person who made it.’
and it just feels like 95% of the time, i’m just overlooked.
and it’s worse than it’s ever been in my entire life, and I wonder, what’s the point of any of this anymore.
why bother to make the posts to share when it all just gets passed by. what’s the point in trying to reach out to new people and make friends when i get lashed out at or left behind? the social is gone out of my social media. i had community, and now it’s gone.
so this has all been going on for months and months and months and hey! suffering. and i dont expect it to get any better, don’t expect this post to fix these issues, but i’ve been trying to say something about all of this for fucking months and i think just, laying it all out is all I can do about it. i’m sure i’ve forgotten some things to touch on but as it is, all these events, all of it happening all together. new traumas, old traumas reawoken, reinforced, i’ve been torn to pieces i don’t know how to function, i can’t remember the last time i felt like even half a real person. taught that the safe, positive spaces that meant so much to me don’t actually exist and they’ll all turn on me and be torn away. nowhere is safe anymore, and trying to make it safe is just going to ruin me again.
people aren’t safe, places aren’t safe, been proven to me time and time again so i just. stay away.
no matter how much i try to fight that, it just doesnt work.
anyway tl;dr beets needs therapy probably

Tumblr media
“Hey,” You hear her soft voice from behind you. You averted your gaze to her reflection on the mirror. Sitting on the edge of your bed was Hwang Yeji, looking gorgeous as always. “You look amazing, stop worrying.” She said, smiling so bright that you think you must be dreaming.
You flash your roommate a brief smile before turning your head to look at yourself again. You don’t know why you were so worked up over a stupid little high school reunion. Who cares if you come to the party looking the same as you did in high school? If anything, people should compliment you for your consistency. But here you were in your dormitory, making sure that there isn’t a single flaw to your outfit.
Yeji decided to make it simple, wearing only an oversized sweater and some jeans. She didn’t even have to try to look amazing. You were a little bit jealous, but at the same time you were in awe. While she was busy scrolling through her phone, you took the opportunity to stare at her properly. She is just… sitting there but she looks so… regal.
Yeji looks up and smiles at you when she caught you staring, “Ready to go?” She asked.
You decided to not prolong the inevitable any longer, so you nodded. Yeji smiles at you again and pulls you away from the mirror, taking you out of the room and into the dimly lit hallways of your college’s dormitory for female students. You nearly tripped on your feet and immediately regretted wearing a fancy pair of shoes with heels. Why you decided to wear a formal outfit for a party with old classmates, you’ll never know.
As your roommate dragged you around the dormitory, you feel your heart racing while her laughter echoed throughout the building. She always had that effect on you. She never failed to make your heart skip a beat whenever she does one little thing. You shake your head at yourself, remembering how obsessed you were with Yeji in your high school years.
You were convinced that your feelings stayed in the past, but nowadays, Yeji has been doing things that is lighting that fire in your heart once again.
“Ryujin should be here soon.” Yeji said as the two of you finally left the building. She never dropped your hand, she actually held it tighter instead. You felt your heart warm up at the sight of her hand barely being visible since her sleeve nearly covered all of her arm. Without thinking, you intertwined your fingers with Yeji’s, holding her hand properly.
You felt her freeze for a brief second before she stands closer and giggles, squeezing your hand tightly. You felt as if your heart was going to burst.
“Are you excited?” You asked, watching your roommate from the corner of your eye.
Yeji looks down on the ground and nods, “Of course. I had some good friends in high school, but unfortunately, nearly all of us got into different schools.” She replied. You could never forget how Yeji was practically the queen of your high school. She was on the top of the social hierarchy along with a few close friends of hers. You were merely a peasant, but you had a good time too!
“At least you’re here,” Yeji said, turning her head to smile at you again. “I know we weren’t the best of friends back then but I’m glad we are now. I couldn’t ask for a better roommate.” She said. You give her a nervous smile and tease her for being so sentimental all of a sudden, but you were absolutely loving it.
Entering college, you were afraid that things were going to turn out exactly how they did in school. You barely had any friends, you were always alone, and the only people you could really call your acquaintances were the janitor and some teachers that loved your productivity and intelligence. You were glad to be proved wrong as soon as you sat down on your first class in the very first day of school, however.
Yeji came in late that day, apologizing to the professor several times before being told to just sit down somewhere so the lecture could start. You nearly fell off your chair when Yeji took the seat next to yours without an ounce of hesitation. Back then, there were still some lost feelings for the once popular girl in your heart so you didn’t know how to act at all.
You felt yourself going even more crazy when you ended up being roommates with your (not-so) former crush.
“Hey, you went to my high school right? (L/N) (Y/N)? It’s nice to see a familiar face around here! I thought I was the only one from our school, other than those two Hyunjins, that got in this college! I’m looking forward to these next four years with you.”
You were pretty sure that those were the first words she ever said to you. You thought that she would switch to a different roommate once the school year was over but oh, you were wrong. When you questioned her decision to stay with you, Yeji looked at you like you grew a second head.
“I like you. Why would I want to be with someone else?”
If she had said that to you back when your feelings were still so strong, you would’ve fainted as soon as those words left her lips. You knew Yeji meant it as an innocent thing and that was exactly why you found her do adorable that time that you couldn’t resist hugging her for the first time.
You caught her off guard, but Yeji never told you that.
And now here you two were, in your fourth year, strong as ever. You don’t think you’ll ever get sick of having Hwang Yeji as your roommate. You just hope that she feels the same.
“Oh, here she is!” Yeji exclaimed as a silver CUV stops in front of the building. Inside was Shin Ryujin, a mutual friend of you and Yeji from your old high school. Ryujin was also famous and untouchable in high school but for some reason, she made sure to hang out with you whenever she gets the chance. She was your only friend, and the only one who knew that you had a crush on Yeji.
Ryujin unlocked the doors of her car and gestured for you and your roommate to get inside. Yeji immediately rushed to open the door to the backseat for you, making you laugh. You express your gratitude by rubbing her knuckles with your thumb before you released her hand and sat on the backseat.
Yeji stood outside for a couple of seconds, waiting until you closed the door (or maybe waiting until she gained her consciousness back) before sitting on the passenger seat beside Ryujin.
“Wow, (Y/N), you look hot.” Ryujin said.
You rolled your eyes as you adjusted your seatbelt, “I knew you’d say that. You always had a thing for girls that needed fixing.” You replied.
“That’s not true! You look dope. I’m sure you’re gonna get heads turning all night.” Ryujin said, winking at you from the rearview mirror before driving away from the dormitory.
Yeji aggressively nods her head, “I keep telling her that but she won’t believe me!” She whines with a cute pout.
Ryujin briefly narrowed her eyes to you, “Well, maybe if you tell her one more time, then she’ll stop denying it.” She said. You instantly catch on to what Ryujin was trying to do. It seems like she never stopped being everyone’s wingwoman and matchmaker. But things were different now, and she knows that. Now, why would she do this?
You mentally slapped yourself for overthinking. Maybe she just wanted to encourage a friend! Ryujin never needed a reason to make her friends feel good about themselves. She always said whatever she thought could make her friends happy, it didn’t matter if they were goofy or not.
But oh God, were you not prepare for what Yeji said next, all because of Ryujin and her antics.
“You look perfect, (Y/N).” Yeji said. You looked at her, wanting to joke about your appearance once again, but seeing the sincerity in her eyes, no words came out of your mouth except a barely audible ‘thank you’ while you felt blood rushing to your cheeks. Yeji didn’t break eye contact with you for a second more, her smile was small and you wouldn’t know what kind of emotion she was feeling it it weren’t for her eyes.
Oh, her beautiful eyes. Sometimes, whenever the two of you talked while sitting across from each other, you always get lost in Yeji’s brown orbs. You can always feel them tearing through whatever walls you put up and embrace your soul with warmth and appreciation.
Yeji was usually like an open book, but this was the very first time you had to dig deeply into her eyes to find out what she was thinking. You couldn’t do it.
The drive to the party from then on was quiet with only the radio playing some soft romantic tunes that fit the atmosphere just right.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
You, Yeji, and Ryujin arrived at the rendezvous place which was basically one of the richer students’ house. The rich student in question was Park Chaewon, who happily approached you with a bounce in her step. You wondered just how many students Chaewon had invited because her house looked very... stuffed. You shivered at the thought of having to squeeze through people in order to get to one place from another.
“Yeji! It’s been so long! I see you brought a couple of friends,” Chaewon said. She looked at you and it was obvious that she was completely surprised by your appearance. “(Y/N), right? You were in my junior biology class! Wow, you’re... really pretty.” Chaewon said, her eyes scanning you from head to toe. You blushed at the undivided attention the hostess was giving you. Back in high school, Chaewon wouldn’t even look at you.
You feel something tightly hold on to your left wrist and to your surprise, it was Yeji’s hand. She pulled you close and smiled kindly towards Chaewon, “It’s getting cold, shall we go inside?” She said. You hear Ryujin chuckle from behind you, but you were too distracted by the fact that Yeji was literally holding on to you like her life depended on it.
Chaewon lead the three of you inside her mansion, and you were quite surprised at the lack of neon lights and booming pop music. Everyone was quite organized, it almost felt like a gala after-party. You felt glad that you overdressed for the occasion because being inside Chaewon’s home made you feel like an heiress.
“Yeji, you’re going to stop the blood flow in (Y/N)’s arm if you keep holding it like that.” Ryujin said. Yeji immediately released her hold, her ears slowly turning red as she realized what she has been doing. You decided not to comment on it, not wanting to make Yeji feel even more awkward.
Chaewon giggles in front of you, “Don’t worry, Yeji. Nobody’s gonna steal your girlfriend. Believe it or not, some of our classmates actually managed to get one of their own! Even me!” She said, completely oblivious of your... situation.
You blushed, turning to Yeji for help but she had her face covered with her hands, “W-We’re not... dating.” You said. Ryujin bites her lip in order to stop herself from laughing right there.
“Oh, seriously?” Chaewon asked, but more towards Ryujin who nodded with a disappointed look in her face. Chaewon didn’t say anything else, completely surprised by the brand new information. You don’t know what could’ve made the hostess think that you were dating the most amazing girl to ever exist, but you were thankful that you were in a position where people can think of you as Yeji’s equal.
Ryujin decided to take the attention off of you and Yeji, thankfully, and approached Chaewon, “You have a girlfriend and you’re calling other girls pretty?” She teased, shaking her head.
“I have a type! And she does it too,” Chaewon said, gesturing at the tall girl with jet black hair who was talking to one of her very, very pretty friends. Son Hyejoo, you remember her very clearly. You understood her infatuation with someone who was practically unachievable from where she was standing back in high school. You wanted to be friends with her, but always thought that she was a bit too... intimidating and closed-off. But you were glad she was finally with the girl of her dreams. “You guys can scatter and do whatever! Nearly everyone I invited is here anyway. Have fun!” Chaewon said before walking towards her girlfriend with a big smile.
You, Yeji, and Ryujin spent a couple of seconds standing at the spot where the hostess left you, unsure of what to do. You were never good at parties, and the only ones you’ve been to were the ones where Yeji dragged you to because she thought you needed more human interaction in your life. You spotted one of Yeji’s old friends, Choi Jisu, in the distance and wondered if she was going to leave you all alone.
You shake your head, scolding yourself for trying to keep Yeji all to yourself when the whole point of the evening is to share everyone, including yourself, with everyone else once again!
“Well, I’m gonna look for Heejin.” Ryujin said and walked away to search for her old friend. Scratch that, her first love.
Yeji slowly turns to you with a smile, “What do you wanna do first?” She asked excitedly, any remains of that flustered girl from before was gone. She pulled you aside as a crowd of people started coming in from the front door. You shivered upon making contact with Yeji’s warm hand and you immediately pulled away, not wanting to do anything rash.
You don’t want to hold Yeji back from talking with her old friends, but at the same time you were scared of being approached by random people. Well, technically they’re not just random people, they’re people you’ve met before, but still! You narrowed your eyes at Jisu who had already been staring at you and Yeji.
“I think I’m gonna hang around Hyunjin for a bit.” You said, pointing towards the kitchen.
“Which one?” Yeji asked. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think that Yeji sounded a little... protective. She stared at you intently, waiting for you to answer. You find yourself blanking out, how do you even respond to that? You don’t even know which Hyunjin was in the party and you were feeling a bit weird with Yeji being... wary of a close friend.
“Hwang. I think I saw him somewhere.” You said. You couldn’t miss the way Yeji’s eyebrows furrowed, or the way she pouted at the mention of the boy. You chose not to mention it, however. You thought that there was no way she could be bothered by such a thing. Hyunjin was a nice person! He made you laugh and you liked being around him. Even Yeji said that he was a pleasant guy to be with.
So what was the problem now?
You smiled at your roommate and gave her hand a light squeeze, “See you later.” You whispered before walking towards the kitchen. Just as you had hoped, you saw Hwang Hyunjin standing by the sink, sipping on his solo cup quietly as he watched some of his friends play beer pong against one another. As soon as you stood beside him, he handed you a cup.
You give him a weird look, “Hyunjin, I don’t drink.” You said. Whenever Yeji drags you to those supposedly fun college parties, you always refused to have even one sip of alcohol. It wouldn’t be good for anybody if you were wasted because then nobody would take care of Yeji who was guaranteed to be absolutely hammered by end of a party.
“Oh, come on, (Y/N), live a little! You can’t have everybody thinking you’re still the same boring girl from high school.” Hyunjin said.
You gasped dramatically, “You hurt me, Hyunjin.” You replied as you put your hand on your chest. Hyunjin mocks you and you punch his shoulder playfully. You take the cup from his hand and nearly passed out at the smell of the beverage.
I will never know how Yeji can drink something like this, you thought. Hyunjin stares at you and then nudges your shoulder in hopes of motivating you to take even the slightest sip of the alcohol. You sighed, then you looked up, trying to find Yeji in the crowd. When you didn’t see any sign of the familiar ponytail anywhere, you looked at the taller boy for guidance.
“Just drink it like it’s water.” Hyunjin said and drank the remaining liquid in his cup like it wasn’t poison at all. You took a deep breath and copied your close friend’s actions. You didn’t expect that there would be so much in cup so you nearly choked while chugging the whole thing.
“Oh my God,” Hyunjin muttered as he watched you aggressively place the cup on the counter. “You didn’t have to drink it all in one go! That’s... dangerous.” He said. It took you a second to catch your breath and then suddenly, the taste started kicking in.
“That’s disgusting. I can’t believe you made me drink that.” You said, fishing for something sweet in your purse. Despite your protests, Hyunjin turns around and refills your cup, muttering something about getting you to loosen up for once. You look around the kitchen and spot several boxes of food, but you refuse to move from the counter.
You take the cup from Hyunjin once again and this time, you drink slowly, “So, where’s your other half?” You asked. It has been quite a while since you saw Kim Hyunjin. Usually she would be beside her male counterpart being her weird self but you have not seen even a glimpse of her so far into the evening.
Hyunjin shrugged, “She’s in another room talking to some girl named Jeon Heejin. I think it’s her ex.” He said, smiling as his friends cheered and jumped around the table for no other reason other than they’re absolutely succumbing to the effects of the alcohol. You nearly spat out your drink realizing that Ryujin is currently talking to the same Heejin.
“I wish I was there to see whatever was going on.” You muttered and finished your drink by chugging it all once again. Hyunjin doesn’t even comment on it this time as he did the very same action. You hear music coming from the living room and couldn’t help but grin. Well, the real party was starting.
Hyunjin nudged your arm and before you could nudge him back, he not-so-discreetly pointed at... someone from across the kitchen. You followed the direction his finger was pointing at and was met with Lee Chaeryeong’s longing gaze. You felt your heartstrings being tugged and you slowly look away, afraid that you’d make a fool out of yourself if you stare any longer.
Chaeryeong was a year younger than you but you two were pretty close in high school. Maybe it was because there were some sparks in the air, but you didn’t acknowledge it at the time. One because you were too busy trying to pull yourself out of the Hwang Yeji Hell and two because you didn’t think someone so pretty like Chaeryeong wouldn’t have a silly rush on you.
It took you a few months after you graduated to realize that Chaeryeong did in fact liked you like that, but it was too late for you to do anything about it.
“What are you doing?! You’re completely trying to make a very pretty girl think that you’re not interested!” Hyunjin said.
“That’s the plan, you dumb oaf! Get me out of here.” You replied while pushing him.
“No way! You are on the cusp of finally ending your streak of being single, I will not let you fuck it up!” Hyunjin said, pushing you back into your spot. He looked up and you saw how his eyes literally started shining.
“She’s coming.” Hyunjin said, grinning and waving at Chaeryeong.
“What?! Hyunjin, stop that! Let me leave or else I will send Yeji to clock you—” Before you could finish speaking, the tall boy grabbed your shoulders and forcefully turns you around to face Chaeryeong who looked way too good for a lame college party.
Chaeryeong smiles at you, “Hi, (Y/N).” She said. Oh, her voice still sounds so soft. You melt at the sight of her gentle smile and from the corner of your eye, you can see Hyunjin barely keeping himself together at the sight of you completely losing it.
“H-Hey, Chae.” You replied. Hyunjin laughs when your voice cracks, and you kick his ankle, making him walk away in pain.
“It’s been years since I last heard of you. I didn’t think I would see you again at a party of all places. I remember how much you hated them.” Chaeryeong said, leaning her back against the counter.
You laugh nervously, “Haha, yeah. I just got really busy,” You said. Chaeryeong just smiles at you and shrugged. Of course she didn’t care about that. “And actually, I hated parties because I was never invited to any of them unlike you, Miss Prom Queen.” You teased.
Chaeryeong stares at you intently, “You... remember that?” She asked.
“Well, it’s kind of hard to forget when it’s the last text you sent me,” You said, taking another sip of your alcohol. Chaeryeong hums and she averts her gaze to the ground. The atmosphere immediately changed and you find yourself feeling guilty. “Listen... I’m really sorry about disappearing just like that. I wanted to talk to you again but I thought it would’ve been too awkward since it’s already been so long.” You continued.
Chaeryeong just laughs, for some reason, and slightly pushes her body towards yours, “It’s fine, silly. I know college can be hell.” She said.
After a few minutes of small talk, you found out that Chaeryeong is studying at some fancy arts university with her older sister, both of them majoring in dance. You were happy that Chaeryeong never lost her love for dancing, she was always a fantastic dancer. Maybe one of these days she’ll show you her magic once again, and maybe this time you won’t push her away from what she’s pulling you into.
By the time you finished talking, you were on your third drink and surprisingly enough, you weren’t going crazy. Not yet, at least.
You haven’t seen Yeji since you came into the kitchen and you started getting concerned. Of course she would be with either Jisu or Ryujin but you can’t help but think that somebody else might be hanging out with her, drinking with her, and... dancing with her.
You shake your head, trying to push those kinds of thoughts away. You remind yourself that you shouldn’t be so possessive over Yeji. She’s not yours, not like that.
“Hey,” Chaeryeong leans close to your ear and you feel her arm snake around your waist. She then pulls you close and smiles when you sees you getting flustered over her actions. “Wanna dance with me?” She asked. Oh, she was so close. You feel yourself getting dizzy because of her scent and her hypnotizing gaze. Nearly everything about her was making your head spin, or maybe that was just the alcohol.
Chaeryeong takes your hand and pulls you to the living room where it seems like every person Chaewon invited was losing their minds. You and Chaeryeong managed to squeeze through the huge crowd to get into the center.
“You couldn’t have chosen a spot where we’re at least a little bit hidden?” You asked, giggling as she placed your hands on her hips.
Chaeryeong hums, “I want everyone to see how well we match.” She said and locked her hands behind your head.
From behind Chaeryeong, you saw Chaewon giving you a weird look, one that says ‘what the hell are you doing’, but you ignored her and started moving to the beat. For a while, you seemed to get lost in Chaeryeong’s eyes, the way she moves, the way she pulls you along, and the way she would occasionally glance at your lips and bite her own.
It wouldn’t be so bad, right? Hyunjin was right, anyway. You should take this chance while it’s still here. You can’t keep thinking about that one girl that doesn’t even see you like you see her.
She would be happy for me, you thought. And so you pull Chaeryeong closer by her waist. The younger girl cupped your cheeks and leaned in. This is it.
When you closed your eyes and attempted to close the distance, you felt your whole world slow down. Before your lips could touch Chaeryeong’s, all you could see was a certain brunette taking the other girl’s place and you were immediately filled to the brim with guilt.
You pulled away from Chaeryeong before anything could happen and you felt the back of your eyes burning, “I-I’m sorry, Chae, I... I’m just... I can’t do this.” You said before running away from the crowd, ignoring every single one of the younger girl’s calls.
You ran out of Chaewon’s mansion in tears, not caring about the cold air or the fact that you were running in heels and could trip at any moment. You ran until you spotted Ryujin’s car in the distance, only stopping when you can’t feel your legs. You reached down and took off your shoes, you held on to them as you walked towards Ryujin’s car.
How could you show your face to anyone after the stunt you pulled? You were sure that everybody saw that. While you were dancing with Chaeryeong, you felt as if every single person in the room was looking at the two of you.
Chaeryeong. Oh, Chaeryeong. You cursed yourself for doing such a thing to a girl like her. If she didn’t hate you before, then she’d probably hate you even more now, right?
You sat down on the pavement, wiping your tears away with your hand. How you wished you never came to this party. The only reason you even considered accepting the invite was because of Yeji. She begged you to accompany her, like she always does, and you really can’t say ‘no’ to her.
What will you tell her when she asks about what happened? You can’t admit that you still have feelings for her after all these years. That’s so fucking lame. I really am the same boring girl from high school, you thought, shaking your head.
“I told you. You should’ve went with something more comfortable than some fancy outfit,” You hear a familiar voice from beside you. You looked up and was surprised to see none other than Hwang Yeji sitting down on the spot next to yours. “Here. I stole these from Chaewon’s closet. You won’t believe how many expensive shoes she has. And she doesn’t even use half of them!” Yeji said, putting down a pair of high-quality sneakers next to your bare feet.
You chuckled as you pulled the shoes closer to you, “Thanks.” You muttered. An uncomfortable silence started filling the air. You tried to distract yourself by looking at the sky, but unfortunately, not many stars were visible at the time. Just when I needed them the most.
Yeji would look at you every other minute. She wanted to say something, but she couldn’t get the words out of her throat. You felt bad for making everything awkward.
You couldn’t stop thinking about how you just left Chaeryeong hanging on the dance floor, heartbroken and probably embarrassed. You felt tears threatening to come out once again and you failed to stop them again. You closed your eyes shut as you broken down, burying your face in your hands as to prevent Yeji from seeing you.
“Hey, come on, it’s okay...” Yeji says softly as she tries to pry your hands away from your face.
“I am such an idiot, Yeji. I thought I could do it. I-I thought I could actually move on a-and just... forget, but I can’t.” You said.
“You’re not an idiot, (Y/N). You are the strongest and smartest person I know, because how else would you have handled being my roommate for four years straight without losing your mind other than you’re just that fucking awesome?” Yeji said. She held your hand with her own and wiped your cheeks with the other. Her touch was so gentle and feather-like, as if she was afraid that you would break at any moment.
You shake your head, “You keep me sane, you’re the only reason I’ve survived college so far.” You said, letting out a bitter laugh.
“Don’t say that. Stop putting yourself down, please,” Yeji replied. You saw how her eyes glimmered with tears before she wrapped her arms around your neck and pulled you in for a tight hug. “I hate seeing you like this. You deserve all the good things in the world, if not more. Whoever it is that’s making you feel otherwise right now will get a beating from me.” Your roommate said, trying her hardest to not choke on her own tears.
You laughed again, wrapping your arms around her waist, and the words slip out before you could think twice, “You can’t beat yourself up.”
A moment of silence. You realized how much you fucked up when Yeji froze.
Your roommate pulls away and you could only stare at her in horror as her eyebrows furrowed, “What?” She asked.
You swallowed as you think of what to say next. Should you admit it? Everything you’ve been feeling towards her since the first time you saw her in your freshman orientation back in high school? What would happen to your friendship? Will she see you the same afterwards? You couldn’t help but think of the worst case scenario.
“Have... Have I been treating you like shit?” Yeji asked.
You blinked slowly as you watched your roommate bite her lip in order to stop her tears from falling. Did she... completely miss the point?
Yeji started to get nervous with the lack of action from your side, “(Y/N)... (Y/N), oh my God, I’m so sorry if I’ve been mean to you... I just... I’ve just been thinking about you— no! Not you, specifically, just... just things that involve... you.” Your roommate states nervously. Now she was fiddling with her hands and her cheeks looked... pink?
I have no idea what’s happening right now, you thought as you stared intently at your roommate.
“Like, it started on our second year. I just couldn’t stop thinking about how great it would’ve been if we were together in high school. N-Not together together but like... as f-friends, you know? But then it started to dawn on me that maybe I don’t want to be just friends with you because you’re like... hot— I cannot believe I just said that,” Yeji started rambling, her cheeks getting even more red every second. You could hear you heartbeat through your ears. “Just ignore that I said all of this! I’m gonna go fetch Ryujin so she can take us home and we’ll forget this party ever happened!” Yeji said and stood up.
You couldn’t believe what you just heard. Hwang Yeji has been feeling like that towards you? For two years?! You think about how you could have missed the signs, but eventually realized that there were no signs given at all. Or maybe you were just so caught up in your own feelings that you failed to notice Yeji’s.
All this time... while you were trying to forget about her, she hasn’t stopped thinking about you. You didn’t know if you wanted to feel excited or embarrassed for yourself.
She likes me. Hwang Yeji likes me. Oh my God. And I like her. We like each other. What do I do?! I didn’t think I’d get this far! I was so prepared to be her bridesmaid at her wedding with a handsome rich guy! I didn’t plan things to turn out like this! Wait, where is she going? Oh no, she’s leaving, you scrambled in your seat before finally getting the courage to move.
Before she could walk take one step away, you grabbed Yeji’s wrist and pulled her back down next to you. That proved to be a mistake, however, when you realized how close you have gotten to her face.
Yeji stared at your eyes with such intensity, making you feel like you’re falling all over again, “You’re so pretty.” She said.
You couldn’t resist the temptation any longer, so you cupped her cheek with your hand and pulled her closer than you have ever done before. You hear her gasp softly as you gently crashed your lips together. Your hand slowly fell down to her lap as she deepens the kiss by pulling you impossibly closer, her hand tightly holding on to your sleeve.
Kissing Hwang Yeji was better than anything you have ever imagined it to be. You can feel her pour her soul and everything she was feeling into the kiss, but it never felt rough, sloppy, or messy. You were overwhelmed by how her lips felt good against yours, how right it felt, and how well you kept up despite the odds. You couldn’t help but smile into the kiss, and soon enough you were laughing.
Yeji pulled away, but she kept her forehead pressed against yours, “What?” She asked, smiling even though she was confused.
You shook your head, grabbing her hand and intertwining your fingers, “I have nothing to say, just like the first time I saw you and the other times you made me fall for you,” You said. You tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and you felt your heart melting at the sight of Yeji smiling at you like you’re the only girl in the world. “You always leave me tongue tied.”
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
“I can’t even get mad right now,” Chaeryeong says as she watched you and Yeji from the distance along with Ryujin and Jisu. While she is utterly heartbroken by the earlier events, she is still your friend and your happiness is the most important to her. And if you’re happy with Yeji, then she can put her personal feelings aside and support you. “They’re so cute.” The youngest of the bunch continued. Jisu nods along, she waited way too long for this to happen.
Ryujin pats her friend’s back, “Just wait until they’re months in the relationship. They’re gonna get so annoying.” She said as she rolled her eyes.
“You’re just bitter that things didn’t end as well with you, Heejin, and Kim Hyunjin.” Jisu teased.
Ryujin glares at her, “Shut up.” She said as she hit the other girl in the arm.
Chaeryeong couldn’t help but smile, “Well, aren’t you guys a match! Maybe you should hook up.” She joked.
“QUIET!”

WiP Wednesday: rorveth + isendain + throne3 snips!
Y’all, I have been up since 5:30am and somehow still have not accomplished a damn thing today. But I HAVE played an awful lot of Sims Medieval and I’m having fun! So far I’ve made Lyria and Rivia with Meve as the monarch and the Free Pontar Valley with Saskia as monarch and Philippa as wizard. Also, they gay.
Anyway, here’s a bit from the next chapter of To Claim You As My Own. Warnings for seriously dubious consent in the premise (Roche is captured by the Scoia’tael) and straightforward discussion of sex and sexual assault.
Iorveth/Vernon Roche:
“I’m not your therapist,” Roche pointed out, “and you should definitely have one. But I can tell you that snapping at him and humiliating him is not gonna help things.”
Eldain’s snarl made Roche question if the no-torture thing would stay true – but then Eldain slumped back down. “Fuck,” the elf grunted. “I really fucked up, didn’t I?”
“Yeah, you’re gonna have to apologize like, real well. Time to break out the flowers and jewelry and shit.”
Eldain stared up at him in bafflement – what, did elves not apologize for fuck ups the same way? – and then seemed to notice the state of him.
“Wow, you are disgusting! Is that smell you!?”
Roche scowled. “Considering I’m your captive, how I smell is rather your fault.”
“Huh. Yeah, I guess it is. Well, this is my tent now, and I absolutely cannot have a stinky tentpole captive in the middle of my tent. So we’ll just have to fix that.”
Blinking, Roche’s brow furrowed. Was Eldain kicking him out of his own prison cell?
Instead, Eldain leaned out of the tent and flagged someone down to call for a bath. Like, an actual bath with a tub and everything. Roche blinked.
Was he going to do something like bathe himself in front of Roche but not actually let Roche be clean? As torture methods go, it would be untraditional, but mental manipulation did play a large role in torture.
Only instead of rolling a basin into the tent, Eldain began to pick the knots on his bindings. Did that mean he was getting kicked out? What the fuck?
Eldain kept his wrists bound behind him and walked him outside the tent – where numerous elves were pouring buckets of water into a massive tub.
“Uh?”
“What, humans don’t do communal bathing?” Eldain asked in amusement, stopping them next to the tub. “Here’s how this is gonna work. I will untie your wrists so you can wash yourself, ‘cause uh, gross, but I’m tying your ankles, plus you’re surrounded by Scoia’tael, so like, don’t even try it. Do not make me have to tell Iorveth that his dh’oine was stupidly killed trying to run away.”
Roche opened his mouth, blinked, then closed it as he realized he had no idea what to say.
Eldain didn’t appear to expect an answer, because the elf untied his wrists – and gods, that was a relief, they’d been tied too tight – and wrapped the rope around his ankles. Then Eldain handed him some soap and a bucket and flourished his hand to indicate that Roche should go ahead.
Clearing his throat as Eldain stepped back, Roche awkwardly attempted to clean himself of all the evidence of how he’d been used and how he’d liked it. He grit his teeth, breathing deeply, and pretended that he was working in his mom’s brothel, a weekend shift to take over for someone like he often did. Yeah, he’d had sex. Yes, he was covered in evidence of it. No, it was no longer hot and now just annoying and crusty and he scrubbed hard to remove it.
The other Scoia’tael elves were definitely looking at him – curious, perhaps? Or plotting his death? – but there was nothing Roche could do about that, so he pretended they were just other patrons at the Clarabelle. It was at least enough to keep his blush limited to his face.
Then he was done and he poured the bucket over his head, rinsing off. He looked back to Eldain. “So… how exactly do I get in the tub with bound ankles?”
Eldain’s smirk did not bode well for him and he held out his arms uselessly.
“No, wait–”
Eldain grabbed him, hauled him up overhead, and then dropped him directly into the tub. It wasn’t really that deep, but Roche still flailed as he struggled to surface. Finally, he was tossing back wet hair and sputtering, just to find Eldain laughing his ass off.
Roche narrowed his eyes. It wasn’t the mean kind of laughter Eldain had given before when insulting Isengrim, so he wasn’t actually that bothered by it, but he did think it was only fair if he got to retaliate.
He moved to the edge of the bath as Eldain kept laughing and it was honestly far too easy to pick him up and pull him into the tub by his tunic.
Eldain splashed around a lot more than Roche had, and when he surfaced, he slowly spit the water out of his mouth through frowning lips. “This tunic was new,” he whined, face downcast.
Roche rolled his eyes. “Meaning newly salvaged from the corpse of whatever poor sod wandered into your forest?”
“Sometimes they come from corpses that you put there,” an elf nearby murmured, glaring at Roche. And that hit Roche… weirdly hard, considering he was just a soldier doing his job.
But he didn’t have time to dwell on it, because his and Eldain’s presence in the bath apparently signalled that it was Time to Bathe and a number of elves hopped into the tub next to them. Roche stiffened, but they mostly seemed occupied with settling in the tub or chatting with each other.
Eldain wiggled out of wet clothes and threw them over the rim to deal with later, then settled next to Roche. Which meant that Roche was sitting naked in a bathtub along with 10 other entirely nude elves. And a lot of them kept glancing at him. Some were definitely angry, but others were… curious?
He swallowed hard, trying to keep himself from staring at all the elves around him. But they were just so unreasonably beautiful, so instead, he made himself look too closely, until he could notice the flaws.
Every single elf here had at least one scar that he could see. Every single one. He gulped again.
One elf noticed him staring at a healed gash in their shoulder and bared their teeth at him. “Recognize it? I was the one that got lucky. You didn’t kill me. My entire squad, on the other hand…”
They growled and Roche wondered how he was supposed to fight with his ankles bound in a bathtub filled with elves.
“Enough,” Eldain snapped, and where his voice had been whiny and amicable before, it was now stern and commanding, reminding Roche that the elf beside him was a commander, an equal to Iorveth. And Eldain’s reputation was even worse than Iorveth’s.
Several elves huffed in irritation, but they did turn away from him. Since they were mostly gathered on the far side of the tub, Roche didn’t really care. But the ones near him still kept staring.
“What?” he demanded when a dark skinned elf with her hair in pompoms continued to stare.
Her lips twisted. “I’m just wondering – how do you know how to make someone come so hard they scream like a siren?”
Next to him, Eldain choked, flushing, but he just blinked at her. “The same way anyone else does?” he answered hesitantly.
Blank faces answered him, and for the first time in his captivity, he worried for the wellbeing of these elves. He took a deep breath, “okay, so first thing is erogenous zones.” He launched into the kind of lecture he’d often had to give young men whose groomsmen had brought to a brothel to ‘get rid of that pesky virginity’.
The good ones just wanted to know how to make their soon-to-be spouse feel good.
It happened often enough that Roche had multiple versions of the speech – the three minute version, the ten minute, the half hour version, even one that was an hour long. He picked and chose which parts of the speech to include based on the knowledge and availability of his audience.
This audience? Very minimal prior knowledge, even about themselves. It was honestly kind of sad.
He was just in the middle of explaining how a soft touch to the back of the neck could make an elf melt into a puddle when he noticed Iorveth standing a few paces away gaping at him.
“Are you teaching my men how to have sex!?” Iorveth’s voice was incredulous and high pitched and Roche kind of reveled in having garnered such a response.
“Well, nobody else has,” he shrugged, keeping his eyes on Iorveth even as his previously captive audience blushed and ducked down. “There’s only two ways to learn: experience, and being taught. And obviously experience is more fun, but it’s much better if you’ve been taught some stuff to bring to the experience.”
He wasn’t sure if his words actually reassured any of them, because he couldn’t take his eyes off of Iorveth. Iorveth stared back at him with just as much intensity and he could feel his breath starting to come faster.
Isengrim/Eldain:
Okay, this WiP is actually part of the Love Breeds Love ‘verse, but it’s kind of concurrent with the rorveth plot of that. The two storylines will meet eventually and work out some of their trauma and issues, but we’re a ways away from that. ‘cause the FIRST thing that has to happen is the breeding lol. If pregnancy squicks you out, this is NOT the series for you. Seriously.
Anyway, this bit is after Isengrim and Eldain have partnered up for this “let’s get pregnant and save our species” event and after chatting for a bit, Eldain invited Isengrim up to his room to ‘hear him play’. 😉
As the last notes rang out, Isengrim’s eyes met his and Eldain found himself strangely breathless.
“You’re very good,” Isengrim intoned and Eldain smiled on instinct.
“I am,” he agreed with a wink. “Thank you.”
Isengrim was very close to him and Eldain found that all he could focus on was the slight distance between them. Then Isengrim licked his lips, and Eldain’s eyes snapped back to Isengrim’s face.
“We’re expected to have sex later,” Isengrim murmured, voice deep and washing over Eldain like a warm fire.
He hummed in acknowledgement, eyes half-lidded.
Staring into his eyes, Isengrim stepped even closer and said, “we could get a head start.”
“For practice,” Eldain nodded, tilting his head back and licking his own lips.
“Exactly,” Isengrim’s whisper fluttered over his mouth just before Isengrim kissed him, and Eldain melted into the meeting of their lips, so soft and sweet and hungry.
Eventually, the pulled apart and Eldain shivered when Isengrim growled, “put your lute away.”
Later, he would think about how Isengrim must really have understood musicians, because as much as he wanted Isengrim to jump him, he absolutely would not be okay with his lute getting damaged, no matter what his horny brain said. But in the moment, he was mostly just desperate to touch, so he set the lute aside and seized Isengrim’s face, drawing him into another kiss.
Isengrim sighed into the kiss, guiding them to shuffle back into the bed until the mattress was against the back of Eldain’s knees and he had to either sit down or fall down. Instead of climbing into his lap like he’d half been hoping, Isengrim dropped to his knees and dragged Eldain’s hips closer to the edge of the bed, pressing his face into Eldain’s crotch.
“Fuck,” Eldain whispered shakily. “Oh, fuck, please!”
Given permission, Isengrim’s fingers were quick to undo his belt and tear down his trousers, letting them tangle around his knees. Then Isengrim pulled his hips closer again and glanced up at him before licking across his already-wet folds. Eldain shivered, hand reaching out to stroke through Isengrim’s hair, pushing long strands behind one ear and tweaking it.
Isengrim’s body twitched, but he was not distracted from his quest, exploring what kinds of sounds he could pull from Eldain’s throat and what sorts of movements made Eldain jerk and what made him gasp and what made him scream.
Some time later, he felt dazed and hazy, body humming with pleasure and delight. “Fucking hell,” he muttered, reaching out to tangle his hands in Isengrim’s hair again. “Yeah, somehow I really don’t think we’ll have a problem later.”
Isengrim laughed, mouthing across Eldain’s chest. “No?”
Eldain huffed a laugh. “How is it no one every mentioned that the Iron Wolf is a fucking god in bed?”
Isengrim stiffened, not responding, and Eldain belatedly recalled that Isengrim… didn’t particularly seem to like his moniker.
“Sorry,” Eldain said softly, stroking through Isengrim’s hair. “I’m just a little surprised that the gossipmongers never got ahold of that one.” He tugged on Isengrim’s hair until Isengrim rose enough for Eldain to kiss him. “God knows after the one fucking time my people overheard me, they never stopped bringing it up.”
Snorting, Isengrim relaxed slightly. Eldain wagered he could get him to relax a lot more.
Meve/Reynard/Gascon
Ugh, I have so many WiPs for these 3 and yet, nothing finished. 😭😭😭 But amongst my list of WiPs is one that’s actually more Reynard/Gascon without Meve in the equation (sorta) and it was started for the @witcherkinktober‘s prompts “Dacryphilia | Dirty Talk | Sounding”. No actual porn here, but much discussion of it XD
General Reynard Odo regarded his strict self control with pride. Gascon, on the other hand, took just as much pride in attempting to poke through that control until Reynard blew up. Until recently, Gascon had assumed Reynard half-hated him for that, but someone – probably Meve – seemed to have let Reynard in on the idea of antagonistic flirting.
Next thing Gascon knew, Reynard was backing him up into the wall and kissing him fiercely. Since then, Gascon had gained a delightfully well-rounded education on all possible permutations on how a stern general and a bratty bandit could fit together. And he loved getting wrecked by his silver fox of a general, he really did. But it would be nice if, on occasion, he could see Reynard lose control.
In retrospect, Meve was probably just sick of their shit, because she was the one who drove Reynard to act – and now it was Gascon’s turn.
“You called for me, Your Majesty?” Gascon announced his presence, pointedly not bowing.
Meve turned to face him, tapping her fingertips together. “How old are you?”
Gascon blinked. “Why?”
The way she looked him over was assessing, but her narrowed eyes showed that it was not his appeal that she was measuring. “Reynard,” she said eventually, just as he was starting to get antsy.
“Uh… yeah? What about him?”
“You want to see him fall apart,” she said bluntly and Gascon’s face flushed bright red.
“Uh, I mean–” he cleared his throat, shifting his weight from foot to foot.
Meve cut him of, clearly impatient with his embarrassment. “Reynard would never say it, but he wants that too.”
Taken aback, Gascon inhaled sharply, wondering if he could truly trust in those words. It seemed far too convenient for Reynard to wish to give up control to someone like him.
“So,” she continued, “I am going to tell you what you need to know.”
Glancing around and half expecting this to be a joke, Gascon arched an eyebrow. “And what’s that?”
“Sounding drives him wild. Every time, guaranteed.”
Gascon’s forehead creased. Sounding? What that some musical thing? “What is sounding?”
Meve sighed, lips pressed together. “I suspected as much,” she muttered to herself. “Perhaps we should start with what experience you do have.”
“I – what?”
“Sex,” Meve grunted, blunt and factual, “I’m talking about sex.”
Swallowing hard, Gascon really, really hoped that none of her guards could hear them. “It – you – why!?”
Meve rolled her eyes, apparently entirely comfortable with this conversation. She was very much alone in that, because Gascon had never been more uncomfortable. The queen was giving him sexual advice to fuck her top general. There had to be a catch. As far as he could tell, she didn’t even like him terribly much. She tolerated him because she had to, because without him, she had about two dozen men and absolutely no chance at all of reclaiming Lyria. So why would she give him advice to bag her second in command?
“For reasons that escape me, Reynard adores you.” She ignored Gascon’s surprised squeak. “Which is fine, except that you’ve got him lovestruck and distracted and frankly, I need my general at his sharpest. So fix it.”
Bewildered, Gascon sputtered wordlessly for several moments. “Fix what!?”
Her sigh was clearly disappointed and his gut clenched at the idea of disappointing her. “Fix him. Right now, you drive him to distraction. So I’m officially ordering you – go drive him out of his mind and give him everything he needs to be able to think straight again.”
Gascon’s jaw dropped. “You – are you serious!?”
Meve’s look was dripping with judgement. “Believe me, if I ever joke, you will know it.”
