Hi! Thank you so much, darling 💜 And thank you for the question! I admit I hadn't expected anyone to really care about my characters xD

The OC's name is Nightshade. Or, rather, that's the name he chose for himself since he tends to reject his birth name (sometimes he doesn't even know what his birth name is). He's an OC I created back in 2010-2011 and he's gone through quite some variations since then, probably because I've used him in several different roleplays. He's rarely the main character, though, but rather the one I push into play when things need to happen because he will ALWAYS stir shit up, one way or another. Sometimes as the antagonist but, more often than not, as a morally grey third party who does whatever the fuck he wants.

He should probably be diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder but, since he's so good at copying emotions and manipulating people, no one can really tell. The only one who DOES know is his not-husband (but also definitely his husband) Acheron Whittemore who is played by @sjazna. Nightshade tends to imprint on Acheron like a duckling the first time he sees him and then just... never leaves him. Ever. Which is fine by Acheron who should probably also be diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder, but he's so rich that people don't dare to tell him that to his face.

Nightshade and Acheron have that dynamic where literally nothing else in the world matters but the other and they will burn it to the ground if either of them gets hurt.

(A small problem, though, is that Acheron is as thick as a goddamn brick when it comes to emotions so Nightshade usually pines for a minimum of five years — often closer to ten — before Acheron catches on and realises that Nightshade is in love with him. And it usually takes something really dramatic, like either of them almost dying, before he does so. It's so tragic it's kind of hilarious)

Anyway, Nightshade is one of those characters who's very, very versatile. He can fit into almost any setting and, thanks to his habit of manipulating people, he can also weasel his way into almost any plot you can think of. If he wants to be there, he'll be there.

Because aside from the manipulation part, he's also just very charming in general. He's the kind of person who walks into a room and EVERYONE notices. Not because he's necessarily the most conventionally attractive, but because he's good at presenting himself in a way that's very appealing and eye-catching. And that's why I say he's difficult to draw since he's meant to be a character who's incredibly attractive, but it's not just because of how he looks, but also the way he moves and talks and phrases himself. He's very sensual and graceful, and has a confidence and gravitas that's difficult to capture in one still image.

(Basically, writing and roleplaying Nightshade for several years is probably one of the reasons why it's so easy for me to write Kang Yo Han. I've gotten a lot of practice on how to convey that sort of magnetism xD)

Despite being so versatile, there are always some things that remain the same with Nightshade, though, which is that he's an orphan of unknown age and origin, that he chooses the name Nightshade, his preferred professions are sex worker or assassin (sometimes both at the same time because why not?), he always finds Acheron somehow, and he likes to collect people (who aren't Acheron) like they're Pokémon (i.e. he sees them as pets). He is also a Professional Dramatic Bitch who is an expert at copying emotions but throws a tantrum as soon as he has to deal with his own.

So yeah. Nightshade is a Wild Ride (quite literally if you're willing to pay him ;D)

Fun fact: Nightshade is technically non-binary (he/they) but he's so focused on murder and pining after Acheron that he doesn't realise. It doesn't come naturally to him to explore that sort of thing, so unless someone tells him directly about the concept, he usually never understands that about himself. It DOES show in how he dresses, however, since he often mixes what society deems as feminine and masculine without giving a single fuck. It can also be seen in how he insists on picking his own name since the male name he's usually given isn't one he can identify with. He prefers something gender-neutral.

I thought up that Saiki/Billy/Danny poll on a lol but honestly I keep thinking about it. They're all so interesting as comparisons to each other.

Billy, aka captain marvel: young orphan boy with a heart of gold and a strong sense of justice getting into trouble for it. Sweet darling angel with huge authority issues and Will Fight And Lie over it. Wants to be a hero more than anything else but didn't really get a choice in becoming one. Destiny is strong with this one. Uses his newfound powers to save others and help everyone around him, preferring to talk his enemies down or outwit them but very good with violence. Keenly aware of how easy it would be to turn evil (with Adam) and refuses to ever follow that path. Would be in huge trouble if the government ever got him and he knows it.

Saiki: seemingly apathetic teenager with a heart of gold getting into trouble for it. Sarcastic and pithy, he prefers solitude and privacy but keeps getting semi willingly roped into doing 'friendship' stuff with his 'buddies' (who he'd die for). Easily bribed. Acts polite and obedient to fly under the radar but does not even slightly respect authority given his circumstances with his normal family and the numerous kidnapping and experimentation attempts from governments (and his older brother) since he was very young. Was born with his ever growing powers and every attempt to reduce or remove them has failed with the exception of his limiters, he doesn't want them but didn't really get a choice. Very avoidant or passive of conflict, preferring to save his rare world saving heroics for when he can't be discovered, he doesn't have a hero persona. But he's also very capable of great violence on massive scales when necessary. An unreliable narrator with a slight god complex despite his desperation for a normal human life. Conscious of how easy it would be to turn evil and determined to never follow that path. Would be in massive trouble if the government ever caught him and he's keenly aware.

Danny: sassy and punny teenager with a heart of gold getting into trouble for it. The fluke accident turning him part ghost also released the ghosts onto the town, and he feels it's his responsibility to stop them, before either side gets hurt or worse. A typical teenager with annoying teachers and parents who want to rip him molecule from molecule has left him with very little respect for authority (but it's better than the other two - just). Didn't really want to be a hero with powers but didn't really have a choice. Will sass people into making bad decisions (that usually ends with him upside down in a wall) and generally ready to throw down the second he senses a ghost (or a vlad). His encounters have left him with an iron clad set of morals and he's keenly aware of how easy it would be for him to turn evil, despite how much he refuses to become his worst nightmare. If the government ever got their hands on him he'd be deeply screwed and he knows it.

I'd honestly love to see the three teenage power houses meet, even if just to gripe and find understanding XD. They'd be such an interesting dynamic.

Saiki: *sipping a drink as the other two crash and wheel wildly overhead in a landscape destroying spar, mercilessly critiquing them both like he could do any better*

Billy: *desperately trying to stop his new friends from conning a conman in revenge for getting conned so easily themselves despite his warnings*

Danny: *deeply morbid humour about the fragility of life as he blasts music to the beat of the video game he's crushing the other two at until saiki blows up the TV*

Honestly these three would bring out the blackest humour in each other, it'd be so bad.

Billy would be the extrovert golden boy face of the group despite being just as ready to play dirty as them, Danny the one dragging them everywhere and daring them to do stupid things, and saiki the guy in the back acting above it all like he's not the easiest to provoke into dumb stuff. MENACES, the lot of them.

But I kind of like how their wildly abnormal childhoods and lives would find so many points of understanding with the others. They'd all benefit hugely from having others their age like them.

Okay, so before we go into this, subspace is... well... less a kink and more a state of mind. But, I think I know how I'm going to talking about it - I just want to be upfront that it's a little different. Certainly an aspect of kinky things and bdsm though, and not at all a bad thing to put in the ask <3

Let's do this one by character as well \o/ Alphabetical? Sure, sure, why not?

Zoro:

Praise Kink - Yes - Zoro's not overly chatty as a general rule, but he is a little more loquacious behind closed doors. At first it's to ask questions, and make sure everything is going good, and then it becomes part of the process as he becomes more learned and practiced. Dom, sub, switch, top, bottom - Zoro strikes me as the kind of guy who adapts to you and your desires. Sure he'll have some of his own, but he never gave this sort of thing much thought before you, so he's just trying out everything.

Praising you comes so easily though, he doesn't even realize he's doing it at first, and when you praise him in return - he certainly likes that. He can definitely degrade you if you want, but he'd rather sing your praises (and have praises sung to him honestly).

Subspace - FUCK Yes - the first time you sink into subspace Zoro panics. Maybe you never had before, maybe you just didn't think about explaining it to him, maybe you did explain it to him, but hearing and seeing are two different things. It ends up being the end of that particular session, but with the experience and lesson learned, things go much more smoothly going forward. It starts to be a goal for him, to slip you into that state of mind, however he can. The more you like it the more dominate he becomes.

On the flip side, Zoro is a Sure, or I guess. It's a lot of trust to put on his partner, and control. It's not that he doesn't trust you or your control, it's just that he's never been not-in-control and it's hard to let go of. Binds can be broken, but mentally sinking into something like that is a little much.

Cockwarming - Oh god you don't even know - Zoro's a zen kind of guy. He meditates as part of his training routine, and he's often spoken of the philosophies of swordsmanship - not just practical applications. He's surprisingly patient, and unlike his captain he's not at all twitchy or fidgety. Depending on the mood you're both in it can turn into a bit of a battle of wills, but sadly you've got a long way to go to beat him in stamina and focus. In the end you're always the one begging for him to move more, or to let him let you move more. He's not likely to be rushed though >.> So good luck.

Killer:

Praise Kink - Oh god your don't even know - Killer will praise you and accept your praises. But mostly praise you - how well you take him, how sweet you sound, how beautiful your laughter is, how delicious, and warm, and tight and perfect you are. Killer loves to lavish you with praise. You are his good little one, and he'll make sure you never doubt it.

It's also easy to tell that praise effects him positively as well. You can hear his soft moans shiver when you praise him, feel him twitch inside you, the flex in his fingers as he works to control himself.

Subspace - Yes - for pushing you into it unintentionally more often than not, Killer is definitely a Yes. It's icing on the cake, and it's not necessarily something he's going for, but it's nice when it happens. It's an odd kind of praise on its own, that he's filled that dominate role for you so completely your submission has sunk you entirely.

Cockwarming - FUCK Yes - Killer likes to cuddle with you, letting hands and lips wander over one another and just reveling quietly in the connection and caresses. He doesn't get to do it as often as he'd like, you're both busy people, but when there's enough time to just sink inside you and stay there, touch and hold and tease you a little while you try not to squirm against him. It's relaxing to start, and the slow build into something more gives him a chance to flex his will and control.

Kid:

Praise Kink - Yes - Kid'll praise you, so long as you've earned it. Of course, if you're not earning it, your relationship probably isn't going to last that long. He's not withholding it, or demanding anything really, his praise is almost subtle compared to most. It's like a mix of degradation and praise. He can't just seem to call you his pretty [boy/girl/babe], he has to call you his pretty little slut. You make the sweetest whore sounds.

He can try to tone it down, but honestly for Kid, the more degrading his praises are, the more he's actually meaning to praise you. Gods forgive anyone who thinks they can talk to you that way though, cause Eustass won't.

Subspace - Oh god you have no idea - Eustass loves dragging you into subspace. He's liable to press every button he can to get you there fast as possible unless you're begging him not to (for whatever reason). It's not like he has to put forth much effort, there's barely a speck of submissive in his entire body, and once he gets into a groove in a session it's almost impossible to not fall into it.

There's nothing to fear though, if you're under his care he's looking out for you. Established or a one-night stand, it doesn't matter. There's rules to bdsm and being a dom, and they're engraved on his bones.

Cockwarming - Sure - Eustass is a little too much energy and movement to sit still and do "nothing". You can get him to tease and caress and cuddle, certainly, and if the situation is about you staying still and being patient, then he can drag it out like the demon that he is. But, it's not something he's likely to suggest himself.

If he's going to drag out teasing you, he'd rather restrain you and bring all sorts of toys and props and sensations into it. Not that he doesn't want to cuddle or be intimate, but if you want cuddles then don't bring his cock into it >.>

Omg ok ok hello! I had this huge rant in my head about sy and sn so pls feel free to ignore it, but I love your writing so much and it gives me some STRONG FEELINGS. First of all it surprised me that I like the way you write y/n cuz she doesn't become a "bitch" after the whole deal with Gojo and have some elaborate revenge plan, but she is also not a goody two shoes (even if she stayed with Gojo earlier but she had a lot of external pressure to stay in the marriage). Not that those tropes are necessarily bad but it's just more realistic this way. She's just a person who has been deeply hurt and is trying to do right by others. Even if she has made big mistakes, she still wants to make up for them cuz she's not completely in the right either. Also getting bashed by everyone for trying to make amends/ not following their advice regarding you own life; while very triggering for me (lol) is also just such a natural reaction. Not right, just natural. When things get out of people's hands and they want to blame someone for it, they often go for the one who is actually trying and won't retaliate if for nothing than to just keep the peace. Also wanting people to understand your side of the situation yet feeling undeserving of it at the same time because of your mistakes is UGHHH I feel like you do that so well! It's amazing but genuinely heartbreaking to see how far Satoru has come as a person too. Also when he thinks about how he wants to be a better person for Akemi IT MADE ME WANT TO PUT MY HEAD THROUGH A WALL... cuz WHY COULDN'T HE BE LIKE THAT FOR US!!! At the same time we have moved on without him, so if we are allowed that luxury then why isn't he? It's just so ANGSTY AND SO SO GOOD! Because we love Satoru we always will but he had a chance and he fricked it over terribly! So it would be idiotic to go back to him but at the same time the heart yearns for him. This is a side tangent but whenever any character says "this is not like you", "you have changed, this isn't how you'd act" makes me so MAD lol (maybe bc I am triggered?) But these guys WATCHED MY GIRL GO THROUGH SOME HORRIFIC SHIT AND STILL EXPECT HER TO NOT BE PERMANANTLY AND IRREVERSIBLY CHANGED???!! ;-;; IDK what they want from her oof >.< I do think Akemi is a shitty friend but I can't bring myself to hate her completely. Seeing them together is so ANGER INDUCING AAAAA (and her wanting a family with him is fine BUT THIS EARLY?!JUST AFTER ADMITTING YOU FEEL "SORRY" FOR BETRAYING US?! IT MAKES ME WANNA HURL HER TRHOUGH CONCRETE) but at the same time Satoru and Akemi both deserve someone who can love them. Sera is also such an interesting character. She has a lot of traits that I admire a lot. Her resourcefulness and complete and utter pride/confidence and being unashamed to ask for things/ stand up for herself (even when she is wrong) is something I wish I had sometimes. Still wanna stick her head through a toilet tho and yet when a person who slept with a married man can see the bloody violation of girls' code that is sleeping with your bff's EX HUSBAND oh BOY you should KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG. I have no strong feelings for Toji (cuz I don't like him much anyways but that's just personal bias XD )but I do think his anger and frustration is well founded especially since he runs over whenever the reader needs him. He's so supportive and invested and honestly he deserves someone who can give that back to him. It's kinda sad but then again I don't like him much to begin with lol.

OH AND THE ENDING OF THE LAST CHAPTER IS SOOOOO PAINFUL. To always be the second choice even for YOUR SON OHHH MAN I'D RATHER YOU PUT A KNIFE THROUGH MY HEART ;-;

All in all I hate how much I love this series and love to hate these characters and take out my repressed anger on them cuz I can't do that irl. This series is my Roman Empire lol. It's so painful, yet so beautiful and it makes you FEEL so many things and yet hold out hope for things to become better. I love this, love you and your writing- ok mwah bye bye (and thank you if you read this rant put together by my post nap, barely coherent brain) I have so much more that I want to say. I can write essays about this series and how it uses so many technically "cliche" tropes but it is anything but cliche . Truly some of the best angst I have read like ever!

Hitorijime My Hero (Memeco Arii): This title is a classic so you might have already seen it but just in case. Hitorijime My Hero has an anime adaptation as well (I’m anime-only) and the manga has a spin-off with the side couple as far as I know. The height difference is less pronounced here but if you’re like me and you love delinquents as well, this will be your jam.

The Trees in Spring (Nakaoka Naka): I’m kind of cheating but I’ll do anything to recommend this title! MCs here are a teacher and student, but the teacher isn’t teaching the student, they meet each other in a different way. I have reviewed this title before and take any chance I can get to recommend it, so there you go!

Warbler, Sing of Spring (Nago Nayuta): I felt like they don’t have height difference (and checked the first chapter again) but the MCs are always drawn in weird angles so I’m not sure. Another title with the delinquent sprinkled on top. Really enjoyed reading this, Nago Nayuta’s works have a cuteness I like and the uke in Warbler is kind of unhinged xD Love him!

The Neighbor I Desire (Makoto): This one started off a bit weird for me but I can assure you it’s super cute! I have written a review before so if you want more details, here you go.

The Good Teacher (Eeej): Another title I reviewed before. It’s pretty, fun but short and while the plot is not this series’ strongest point, I think it’s worth giving a shot.

Love for Sale (Dal Hyeon-ji): It’s official, you guys. I will literally disintegrate if I don’t recommend Love for Sale, the doctor said it not me. But honestly, do yourself a solid one and read it if you still haven’t. The pinnacle of ultimate goodness. I wrote on LfS before but since the post contaşns spoilers and is more about sugar dating than a review, I’ll spare you the link. On Lezhin.

Love Me Doctor (ANA): Another series I constantly recommended on Twitter and got a couple of unassuming, kind-hesrted people to read it with me as well. Focuses on a university student and a urology doctor he had tovisit for his ED. If you’re comfortable reading a title where a doctor kind of uses his position to get to know a patient and stepping over boundaries, please give it a chance! TOTALLY worth the time. On Lezhin.

On or Off (A1): Can’t say I understood the drama with the artist and the series being wrapped up rather quickly, but I read this popular webtoon with joy! Not as big of a fan as the rest of the BL fans but if youdig these two tropes I think it’s worth checking out. On Tappytoon, but I think TOKYOPOP has released it in print.

Metro (Chika Hongo): This is more of a dramatic title, where a high school student is being touched regularly by the same man on the train and he likes it, until one day he follows him home upon being invited. If you prefer a story that’s laced with trauma and flawed characters, this is for you! On Manga Planet.

Pound Cake on a Sunday (Amida Shizuku): Man this series is SUPER funny that I had to reread today! A father and son lives alone after the mother’s passing and one day, out of the blue, the father starts complimenting the new transfer to the company about how he’s so beautiful or saying how shiny his hair is. Is his father gay? Did he finally lose it? Read and find out! Very different from your usual BL, worth your time!

Bonus - I’m a Dom and I Want You To Stroke My Head (KINACO): Has dom/sub universe (a big fan) height difference as well, but it’s a teacher x teacher pairing.

You know I have my own wonderful idea and this takes place specifically in the young justice universe around season 1 since that has the best time frame to include this now we all know The Light was vandal savage attempt to rule the world again but have you noticed that the league of assassins philosophy of killing corruption and ra's being immortal too with lazurus pit, And vandal desire for control fits perfectly with the constant battle between Templars and assassins, so what if the league was originally the brotherhood and the templars was originally founded by vandal savage and I'm not talking about the weird backstory we got in AC origins with Julius Cesar though those events still happened but vandal is the one who formalized the templars into what they are, however here's where the assassins come in and especially ra's see while vandal was more than willing to fake his death every now and than to let the templars grow on their own if necessary, and to make the assassins think they won for a bit before coming back with a new name and because of that he's been able to rule the world the same way he's always did in the normal comics just this time he has a secret army at his beck and call during that entire time.

Then the assassins finally got a true victory with ra's becoming an assassin and eventually grandmaster who found, wait for it, an isu artifact that allows anyone who had died to come back to life but of course as we all know isu bullshit tends to have side effects and the Lazarus pit was no different but thanks to ra's leadership and the Lazarus pit the assassins for the first time in decades have finally won a final victory against the vandal and his templars at least until vandal waited for the day he can recreate his templars under a new name one where everyone will see the light of his leadership and the world will be his to control again.

So my point to all of this is, what if all the events of the assassins creed games up until the modern day before 2012 and before the start of season 1 of young justice all happened and that the moment vandal and his light start making moves, the league of assassins hear about it and catch the justice league and definitely batman off gaurd with a partnership and when the team is given a liason and new support in the form of Desmond, Shaun, and Rebecca.

So, in this one, we’re setting up Ra’s Al Ghul as the mentor of the League of Assassins and not a member of The Light?

Or are we going for the ‘things are different in this AU’ then go psyche! Ra’s Al Ghul is our Al Mualim and he’s a member of the Light!

Honestly, I wanna go for the second idea because, this way, we can set up Ra’s Al Ghul as a parental figure of Desmond who raised him because he was an orphan and he would act as both his master and his mentor, mirroring Altaïr’s relationship with Al Mualim.

So when Ra’s Al Ghul is finally shown as a member of The Light, it would hammer in how Ra’s and Desmond’s relationship mirroring Altaïr and Al Mualim’s relationship was a hint of Ra’s true ‘allegiance’.

Also, this would give Desmond an easier time to befriend Dick as they both got… uuhh… ‘complicated’ relationship with their father-figure (although Desmond having Ra’s as his father figure makes Dick think “atleast Bruce wasn’t as bad…”).

Although, by Leagues of Assassin standards, Ra’s does act like a good father to Desmond and he cares for Desmond like he does for Talia so when the truth of his allegiance to The Light comes to… well… light… there’s gonna be some sweet, sweet angst, not just between Desmond and Ra’s but with the team (especially Dick) and Desmond on how loyal Desmond is to Ra’s.

Unorganized Notes (I’m messing up the timeline XD):

Yeah, I’m doubling down on it because the Desmond is Talia’s twin ask has some really good ideas on Desmond’s relationship with the League members.

Talia treats Desmond as a little brother and even tells Batman to look after him because, in her own words, he’s still naive. This makes Batman believe that Desmond is a good person.

He is but he was raised to be an Assassin so he has no qualms killing bad guys. Shaun and Rebecca actually act more as his moral compass and remind him that the team won’t like it if you kill this person or something.

Desmond is known as Ra’s son although some of the League members say it in a more derogatory way as he isn’t related to Ra’s by blood.

Soooo… in the end, Desmond is the one who ‘kills’ Ra’s although he does mention that Ra’s won’t say dead to the team. He leaves Young Justice afterward to take care of the League. This though, does end up splitting the League between Desmond and Deathstroke but Desmond and his League will pop in and out to help the Young Justice every now and then.

Vandal Savage calls Desmond ‘mentor’ after Desmond takes over half of the League. He talks about Desmond as if he was a completely different person, saying how he always knew that Desmond would assassinate Ra’s. No matter what trickery Ra’s do to him, his blood will always guide him to be the thorn in the Templars’ side.

Desmond doesn’t remember it but he has been drowned in the Lazarus Pit… by Ra’s himself. Talia would imply it happened multiple times because Desmond’s mind is ‘fragile’.

Depending on how old Desmond is supposed to be in this AU, he either acts as Cassandra’s older brother or her father figure. He’s the reason why Cassandra was able to get away from Lady Shiva (honestly, I don’t like how Young Justice merged Lady Shiva and David Cain and made Lady Shiva more evil in this one but I'll use it for the plot). Whether Cassandra stays with Desmond or she becomes Orphan is up to you.

Red-Hooded Ninja is also close to Desmond who pretty much taught him after he lost his memories. Desmond has no idea who Jason Todd was and that’s why he didn’t know Red-Hooded Ninja’s real identity.

Later on, Desmond would start remembering memories that don’t feel like his own at all. Talia sees this and tells him to use the Lazarus Pit, implying that the reason why Ra’s always ‘drown’ Desmond in the pit was because of these memories.

So Desmond doesn’t. Instead, he tries to make sense of the memories he’s getting.

This is the part where you can go: (1) Those memories are Desmond’s ‘erased’ memories from when he was actually Ra’s younger brother whose Creed made him butt heads with his older brother ending with Ra’s using the Lazarus Pit to make Desmond forget about the Creed he had and become more easily controlled to do Ra’s wishes, (2) Desmond was actually Ra’s father who he usurped and took the League from (which was called the Brotherhood before) after they found the Lazarus Pit, or (3) Desmond was found floating in the Pit without his memories and Ra’s made use of that with Desmond’s actually memories being either (3.1) Desmond is part of the Isu race who survived because he was dunked in the Lazarus Pit which he had created or (3.2) he’s the real Desmond Miles from the AC world that got transported to the Young Justice world together with the Lazarus Pit.

Regardless of whichever plot you choose, the idea is Desmond’s memories that were coming back were from his previous ‘lives’ before the Lazarus Pit erased his memories over and over again. This is the part where you can play with Desmond’s ancestors’ memories by making them memories of Desmond’s past lives before he is once again drown in the Lazarus Pit to forget everything.

I read TSaTS, and loved every second of it

I disappeared from social media to do that, and seeing things now, apparently people are hating on the book??? I honestly have no idea why, and honestly, it makes me sad. I wrote those notes as I read it, and never felt the book was weak or messy, and I'll stand on that boat, 100%. I LOVE this book with my entire existence now, and what people are thinking about it won't affect that, I truly hope.

And I've been binge reading all of Riordanverse in the last month, so everything is fresh on my mind.

Anyways, I'll just leave the notes I did here while I read it. Of course, SPOILERS! I read it without getting even one spoiler, and that made the experience unique and much more enjoyable than others I had in the past.

• I LOVED the silly star war discussion in the beginning, even not quite understanding it xD It was so cute and genuine, maybe with some probably thinking it’s cringy!

• WILL TALKING ABOUT HIS PAST 🫶🫶🫶🫶 I really wanted to see more of him and his story, so they just there, chilling and talking about things, forgetting, even if for only a few seconds, how their situation is so cruel… It made me really happy! Hope they’ll be back soon to just relax and be cute… (haha...)

• I hope the tiny snippets about the water Nymph will have its own scene!!! I was dying to know how their love story start, so it needs its own full chapter!!! (now finishing it, that didn't happen, but the scenes got longer!!! So, victory!!!)

• Now the first POV switch (ch 10) …. Sus. Is pretty weird that the what they see does not seem reliable, and right after it each one of them shares a vision were they’re suffering, but the other one is being kinda “selfish”, and not like themselves. I totally think what they’re “living” is not true, but I don’t know when they stopped seeing things right, or what happened to them. Where? Weird. I do know Will wouldn’t just give up, “I can’t be here”, or Nico going “Coward!”. The POVs don’t match, and I’m CONFUSED.

• Of course it’s a demon! And I do think it hilarious how they’re discussing gender norms while the demon is trying to strangle Nico…,,, normal day, I guess? And Will immediately saying sorry to them like, LMAO

• Man, playing Hades and seeing Nyx like this on the Riordanverse is PAINFUL. She’s so gorgeous (STUNNING), calm and mother-like there. And she always has this kinda insane-y vibe here.

• Ah, “‘I’ll always be here”. There it is, they’re getting separated.

• AGAIN? “if Nyx wants your darkness so bad, you can just leave some of it with her! That wouldn’t be so bad.’”. IDK man, I’m thinking this will be more true than they think, I just feel it 😭😭 And more literal than that, too. (here I was thinking about Nico leaving his powers there. I was pretty wrong on that xD)

• I think that addressing Will’s irk towards the underworld is pretty important. I really like how both of them are on different, but pretty understandable sides. After everything we know about the UW, it’s hard to be open and accepting to it. Nico is super related to it, and he knows his father’s palace, so he has a completely different view of it. Will is all about life and light, so it should be even less appealing to him. Man, he NEEDS sun to live, it's literally part of his being. It’s easy to understand his side. But there are good people and beings living there too. It’s almost another universe. It’s Nico home, past, family and history. It probably hurts a lot to see his boyfriend being so contrary to it, basically negating a part of him, and kinda making his thoughts of Will “ignoring the “””bad and scary””” “ parts of him to be able to accept Nico hold place. It’s sad, hope this will get a good development and closure. Too bad I’m pretty sure it won’t be soon….

• Okay! The farm commentary! That made me sad. I think here Nico was a tiny bit too much. I felt the “People farm here?” from Will was genuine confusion. I would picture on my mind automatically growing crops underground. Hey, I killed (and it still saddens me) succulents by keeping them inside my no-that-sunlit bedroom. How would people grow things successfully on the underworld? That totally very much probably is not included in common sense! Will most certainly was not trying to stab Nico or the UW life, just would like some explanations.

•The Mythomagic story in Nico’s past 😭😭😭 The feels, I swear. It was pretty relatable, poor boy. And that was on the last century, too, and I can't imagine how hard it would be to deal with being queer at that age.

•But hey, is Will talking about Hermes’ card there? Does he play Mythomagic?? Do they together?? That would be cute as hell, I hope they do.

•The canoe scenes make me so happy! I loved SO MUCH how they put them in between some painful scenes. It made it easier to breathe and take on the hard parts. One of the things I wanted the most was the backstory of their relationship, and being given ALL the details like that was definitely not what I expected. They’ve been amazing, super super cute.

• And hey, Paolo is queer?? He’s one of my fave background characters, and I really liked that 🫶🫶 Nice rep for us Brazilians, I really appreciate that, lol Really missed seeing more of him! Seeing a mention on this book was unexpected, but nice! Hope he’s getting better at communicating with everyone, hahah

• I LOVE MENOETES! The way this book is showing the nice parts of the underworld too, on contrary of house of hades that was pure hOrOR and pAIN. It was not what I was expecting, and I totally appreciate it, it’s cute. And wait does he grow the nectar and ambrosia? That’s genuinely impressive. He's a pretty cool guy.

• BUT HEY, GERYON? Sorry friend, I’m judgin here. Do hope you’re right saying he’s a changed man……,,,

• Now Persephone’s Garden…. One more time, they’re showing the nice parts of the underworld, and that’s super interesting.

• And the Persephone’s scene? I LOVED it, I think it was so necessary. My image of her was kinda bad ngl, remembering about her older appearances. She seemed a little crazy. But at that scene, the way she spoke with fondness and clarity… It was exactly what Will needed to hear, and it makes me happy to see that she’s much more accepting of Nico. Good times.

• But Anphistemis? That was one hard scene. They getting separated and all, but the worst part was the chaos when they reunited, and how the poor guy was used. I totally see why Will did that, hell, I’d do the same or worse, when it comes to surviving. I just hope that that was not the last time we see Amphitemis.

• COCOA PUFFS!! I love them too!! I kinda thought they were cute since they first appeared, and that made me feel weird. Good to see that they really are nice and petable!!

• The last fight made me so anxious. I'm just happy it's over. I really wanted for Nyx to chill and find some other purpose at the end, but I don't think that would be believable. Kinda sad. And I always liked those children of hern on their other book appearances too!!! Especially Nemesis.

• Bob, oh Bob. He's precious. I truly like this crew SO MUCH. Him, Small Bob, Nico, Will and and the Puffs. They just finally relaxing, free. Oh, that was so rewarding. Good for them!

• I CRIED with Nico's dream. All of his family... That was so warm. Nico deserved that, I really loved it. And good to know Amphis was not forgotten!!

• Nico hugging Chiron!!!! Mr D. being actually super nice!!!! Aw really, I loved this entire ending too. Everyone happy, talking, healing. Endings make me worried, sometimes my judgment of the work changes completely if the ending is bad. This one? No. It was a super nice wrapping.

• PIPEEERRRR!!!! Nico and Piper friends ? I'm super behind that, I love them a lot. I missed Piper! And her talk was so genuine. Full of worries that are pretty relatable too. Very sweet, wish the best to her too. I thought it was me expecting too much to see Piper, but I'm glad to be proved wrong.

• I'm sad Bob already left... I hope it'll still be possible for them to meet sometimes, Bob deserves the best in this new chapter of his life!! While writing this I noticed I didn't mention anything about the trogs. I guess my main impressions about them happened already on Apollo Trials, hahah. But I like them a lot too!!! I was very happy to see they're happy building their little world and society, and making even tastier dishes. Hiss-Majesty is amazing too, and I loved their closure working at the farm xD

• Plus Nico and Will at the ending. Very heart warming moment. Their relationship is super healthy, and I do NOT believe in anyone who says the contrary. Both of them clearly saw where they failed, communicated about that, and deeply, honestly, said that they would seek to do their best. Isn't this the most important thing of it all? They're super happy together, love each others' presence, and looking at their future together fills them with hope. Man, they just left TARTARUS. And now they're stronger, filled with joy about what is to come.

And that's it. Been reading through some other people's thoughts, and well. Sometimes I even wonder if we read the same book. Like people saying the writing is the worst thing they ever read. I literally spent the last 3 days finishing the 3 last ToA books and this one. My friends, it was NOT that different. In particular, comparing to HoO, of course, because of the third person narration.

The only thing different for me was the direct approach about feelings, and about being queer too (probably thanks to Mark Oshiro), and I definitely enjoyed those. Probably because of seeing myself in them too.

I think people are being way too judgemental of Will. You can for sure say he was too impulsive when he was so determined and stubborn about going to a place that would be literally poison to him. But people complaining he was already drained before getting to Tartatus, as going though everything he did was easy? That place was his antithesis. I was actually shocked he didn't crumble at the first step into the Underworld. But he went through it, with Nico always on his mind. I don't know, I can't understand the hate. And of course they would not be bubbly and fun, they were going though HELL. Did anyone really expected them to be on their best there?

And I think both of them are very misunderstood characters. I was in the fandom for like, almost no time, thus, idk much about the fanon interpretation of them. But after everything I read about Nico and Will on the books, nothing felt out of place here, no. And it reminded a lot of ToA too.

All in all, awesome book, was even more awesome than what I was expecting, and I was totally not disappointed. I will hold this book dear, close to my heart, and I wish people were more accepting of it. There's even an anti tag for it? I made the mistake of scrolling through it (I'm the type of person that gets sentimental when people attack something I love), and yes, people definitely have different experiences while going through works.

Title: Peace Treaty

And yes (: Jessica managed to find the only restaurant around in the 40’s that’s strictly no smoking. XD Goodluck, Wheezy my man.

The next one will be split into sections- each of the weasels POV’s will be incorporated.

Plot: Y/N's first birthday party with her family- plus her best friend, Ritchie, and his parents... Roger and Jessica Rabbit.

Warnings: Cursing (Wheezy uses 'damn' and 'goddamn' a lot, and there's a couple f bombs), Greasy being creepy, and chaos.

Wheezy Weasel’s POV

This party’s gonna be… interesting.

Roger and Jessica Rabbit are gonna be there, cuz Y/N got real close with their kid, and I guess they’re ‘best friends’ or something now. Pfft, I’m her best friend round here, always have been always will be- but whatever, I guess.

Anyway, Jessica picked the place- some place called Porky’s with a huge indoor playground, because 1. It’s a kids birthday party. And 2. She wasn’t about to come to our apartment. Thought we’d kidnap her, or something, which- ehhhhhhhh, Greasy might, honestly. Its uncomfortable, sure, but it’s true. Idiot.

So, when we arrive at the place - Wasn’t hard to find. Couldn’t miss it. There’s a sign with that fat naked guy on top the size of Russia, - Jessica and Roger are already there. The boss sure isn’t amused that they were early, but it is what it is, and- ohhhh fuck. No smoking sign on the front door.

The boss sees the sign, too, just before he pushes it open and moves inside, and huffs- one more thing he has to worry about, I guess. This is gonna be a rough 2 hours.

The table they reserved is by the playground, so we can see the kids, and across from a big TV playing some sorta sporting event that maybe can distract me from my smokes? Just gotta ask the guy at the bar what the rules are. What? I don’t know a damn thing about soccer. When we reach the table, the rabbit kid - Ritchie, - is already so damn excited- I think he’s gonna pee himself (Let’s say if he does, I get to go out and take a 20-minute smoke break). When he sees Y/N, wandering after us at Stupid’s heels, he bounds over and wraps her up in a hug.

… that was cute, I’ll admit it.

“Took you guys long enough,” Jessica comments in that drawl of hers, standing up to greet us, and I roll my eyes. She’s about to say something else, but Y/N then gives Ritchie a little peck on the cheek- and she pauses. She ‘Aw’s. Because- while she might hate us, she sure loves Y/N. And I don’t blame her. Y/N’s actually the sweetest little weasel ever - yes, we’re all surprised that came from Smartass’ genes, -, somehow cheery 90 percent of the time, and if anyone hurts my little cutie pie they’re not gonna see the light of day again, let me tell you.

… Mostly cuz the Boss’ll track ‘em down and Dip ‘em, but I’ll get some kicks in before he does.

“Traffic,” Smartass mutters dryly, before sitting down across from her- beside Roger, who gulps. I take that as my okay to sit down too, a seat down from Ms Rabbit. While no one’s looking I light a cigarette and hold it under the table- I can take drawls when no ones looking. Gimmie something here-

For fucks sake Greasy. You have to regulate yourself, dude. He sits down next to me- right next to her, a recipe for trouble- and man I gotta take a drag. The guy can be so smart… but also dumber than a box of rocks, jesus christ. Stupid sees me as he sits down beside the boss, and I give him a shhh gesture. Don’t worry buddy, I got this. Just don’t let the boss know about it.

Stupid nods hurriedly, giving a little giggle. Okay good.

Psycho’s sitting down beside Roger, of course, which is almost as bad as Greasy sitting himself next to Jessica - the rabbit is shaking, now, -, Y/N gets the head of the table cuz she’s the birthday girl, and her little friend’s by her side. If this is the official seating configuration for the day… I have some concerns.

Since Y/N and Ritchie have been hanging out, Roger has gotten a smidge better with dealing with us, but the boss and Psycho still terrify him just being nearby- that’s a good thing, though, I think. If he wasn’t, then they’d have to go and do something to scare him again, and that… could get messy.

“Happy B-B-Birthday, Y/N!!” Roger calls, waiving at her from down the table.

Nodding, Jessica leans down and gives Y/N a kiss on the forehead. “Yeah, happy birthday honey,” Y/N looks wide eyed after the kiss, almost starry-eyed, and I don’t blame her- but for different reasons. She loves Jessica right back. Looks up to her even. Adores her, even.

I think it’s got something to do with not really having a female influence. But damn... c’mon, baby girl- you got 5 awesome weasels right here to be your role-models! Well- four. Greasy’s not the best.

Three. Psycho needs to seek serious psychological help.

… Two, I hope she don’t start smoking like me. You know what? Maybe she should look up to Jessica-

“Thank you!” Y/N grins, cheesing all sweet at them both. And yeah- she even likes Roger. She seems to like everyone she meets, somehow. It’s a mystery to me, but I guess that’s just her. A fricken angel.

“What kinda presents have you got so far, sweetie??”

“Oh!” Counting on her fingers, like we taught her, Y/N starts listing the presents we got her; Pronouncing her words clearly. A-fricken-dorable. “Daddy gave me a pillow case that he made with me and everyone on it!” At this Roger and Jessica look oddly at Smartass, and he gives them the same smug grin he gave us earlier. Because yeah, apparently the boss can sew, And he's pretty good, too. The pillowcase in question is impressive. Jokes on him, though- he’s gonna be patching up all our clothes from here on out. I got a reallllyyyyy big teddy bear from Greasy- like, bigger than me! Stupid got me building blocks- so many. I made a house that daddy could fit in! And Psycho got me lollies! Like, my favourite kind. And lotssss of them. They’re living in the block house, now.” With a grin and closing her eyes, Y/N rubs her tummy. “Mmmm- mm!”

“Mhmm,” Greasy nods, a lecherous grin on his face as he leans over to Jessica. “And that is not the only thing I have that is big- ay!” I elbow him in the stomach a little too late… but you know what? It felt good. So that’s alright. And I’m assuming he would prefer that to the giant motherfucker hammer Jessica keeps in her goddamn cleavage. Greasy, hunched and holding his stomach, turns to glare at me- and notices the smoke between my legs. So instead of giving me the evil eye, he sighs.

… hm… yeah, sorry handsy-mcgee, but I don’t really care how you feel about this. It’s necessary, so I don’t bite you next time you try it with that woman.

“Uh, yeah. That present over there looks pretty big- “Gesturing to the box the size of our apartment at the end of the table that Roger and Jessica must’ve brought, I tap my smoke subtly against my knee so ash falls off the end. The box's wrapped in red and yellow paper, and it’s got a big ass blue bow on top. “I say its present time again. Whadaya say, Y/N?” I ask, making Y/N’s eyes light up.

 “… can I please?” She asks Jessica, Roger and Ritchie, a timid smile on her lips- even as she buzzes in her seat. A glance at Jessica’s face tells me all I need to know about what she’s thinking. She’s thinking how good Y/N’s manners are, and I can’t help myself- I gotta shoot my shot. Leaning backwards in my chair to get her attention behind Greasy's back and get a good look in those pretty eyes of hers, I flash a short grin.

“She gets it from me.”

Immediately she rolls those pretty eyes, and returns her attention immediately to Y/N. Eh, I shrug and return to the table. It was worth a try. Can’t blame a guy for trying- Greasy, stop looking at me.

Fully offended and betrayed, Greasy slowly narrows his eyes at me. Until he’s squinting. Like an idiot.

I Ignore him, taking a drag of my cigarette while Smartass’ looking at the menu.

“Course you can, darling.” Jessica replies to Y/N, and she promptly hops down off her seat and climbs up on the one closest to the present. Ritchie goes with her and helps her unwrap it on the other side, and its… a… goddamnit its a cubby house. I’m gonna have to build that when we get home. So, sighing while Y/N gets all worked up and excited, I take another hard drag of my smoke.

“Oooh, aren’t they adorable together??~~ ” Roger suddenly sighs, while Y/N and Ritchie are busy squealing about what they can do in the house and what their ‘club name’ is gonna be, getting the adults’ attentions. There are hearts in his eyes that freak me the hell out. “I can already hear wedding bells~~~ “

-I almost choke on smoke, removing the cig to glare dangerously at the rabbit. What was that?? That little girl aunt marrying nobody, until she’s 30, first of all- and they have a steady job, an insurance police, and-

“My daughter ain't marrying no rabbit!” Smartass growls, slamming his fist onto the table suddenly beside his menu and baring his teeth at the little imbecile next to him who’s sinking into his seat. I nod- and they can’t be a rabbit, either.

“Duh, the guy has to be really handsome and nice and treat her right!~ “ Stupid pipes up.

“And have money!” Psycho adds. “Dowry’s are very important in weasel weddings.”

“He must have style.” Greasy thinks, like its obvious.

“Insurance, and healthcare.” Honestly, it’s like they don’t even care about Y/N.

“… And what if she likes girls??” Jessica asks, voice lowered and ready to strike; an eyebrow raised.

And well, none of us are homophobes- but one of us is real opportunistic. “Well then it’s a good thing she has me to teach her how to charm them, eh señorita?~” Greasy leers once again, licking his chops at Jessica and leaning dangerously close to her- half off his seat.

Before he can touch her, though, or Smartass can throw something at him, Jessica trips his chair and he falls over. Which makes Y/N giggle, from over by the cubby.

“Then she’s doomed… “Jessica sighs, not even looking at him sprawled pathetically on the damn floor, which I am. C’mon man, get it together.

She’s right, though, poor kid-

“- Hey Daddy,” Y/N suddenly appears at her father side, and he turns in his seat to raise a brow at her. Yeah? “Can I go play in the playground now with Ritchie?”

“Yeah sure, kid. Stupid’ll come in after ya when your foods here.”

“Uhuhhh, I will!!”

“Thank you daddyy!” Giving her dad a cute little thigh pat, Y/N turns around bounces off to the playground with that rabbit kid. Yep- bounces. He’s rubbing off on her and damn, its gotta stop. The girl cannot be bouncing through life, no ones gonna be scared of her that way. “I’m gonna scale it!!”

Roger looks alarmed, at that - he must be all too familiar with the dangers of play equipment to, be fair, after that short with that creep Herman at the playground, -, but none of the rest of us react. The boss just looks at the menu once more, she can scale the playground if she wants.

“Oh- wait, what is she gonna eat??” Jessica pipes up, partly alarmed also, for one of them is gonna have to go in after her and find her in that playground maze- but, luckily, boss’s a good dad.

He recites Y/N’s order without looing up- and it’s a complicated one. Our girl’s picky as hell, growing up with Greasy’s high standards and experimenting with Psycho and Stupid will do that. -And the boss knows exactly what his little weasel likes, anyway. He knows it without even looking up from his menu.

… Jessica looks slightly impressed again at him, and I release a short chuckle.

Cuz yeah- he’s good.

~ “-Señora!! Come back!” Greasy calls after a retreating back, turned around in his seat.

“- Come here, little raaabbiiitttt… hehehe… “Psycho giggles, tip-toeing after a terrified bunny.

“- OY! STOP SMOKING IN THE DINING ROOM!” A manager yells, spotting me. Oh, fuck-

“- Yeahh Rogerrr… come back here!” Stupid laughs, following behind Psycho.

“- Oops,” I shrug, nervously. That manager does not look like a fun, easy-going kind of guy.

“- Get away from me.” Jessica hisses, scowling and heading round the table.

“- This is why we can’t go to nice places!” The boss finally gives in, the chaos building around him too much to not be furious at, and throws a plate at Greasy- knocking him out immediately. He flops to the ground like a rag.

“THAT’S IT! ALL OF YOU, OUT!”

-annnnnd, we’re all kicked outta the restaurant, Greasy’s unconscious body chucked out after us. “AND STAY OUT!” Yep, shoulda assumed this would happen. Oh well, at least I can smoke, now-

As Roger nervously frowns and asks, ‘Gee, hey aren’t… a-a-aren't Ritchie and Y/N... still in there??’, and Smartass and Jessica promptly lose their damn minds, rushing up to the door again and demanding to be let back in, Greasy slowly wakes up next to me. He’s confused.

“How did I get here?... “

“You were bein’ a pervert.” I offer helpfully, lighting a couple cigs. He nods, like ah…

Y/N and Ritchie appear at the door, then, looking through the glass at us… unsurprised, honestly. Y/N’s got her arms crossed and she’s tapping her foot on the ground, looking like the spitting image of her dad, while Ritchie’s laughing maniacally and… huh, yeah, maybe I don’t mind the guy. I’d laugh too, seeing this. All the adults in their lives all out on our asses in the street.

Yeah… that’s pretty funny. Heh.

“… sweetheart, could you let daddy back inside?” Smartass tries, but you can tell he doesn’t really expect her to help him- he knows what’s gonna happen- he knows her. And she’s him.

… For a moment though, she actually looks responsive to his request, and I raise a brow. Oh really, kid-

“Come this way Miss, the cake is ready!” The manager suddenly appears behind both the kids though, gesturing towards our table which now has a huge (Favourite flavour) cake set on it- Jessica and Roger must have set that up before we got here. “We heard you’re a fan of (favourite flavour)?... “

“I told them.” Ritchie grins, tapping Y/N's shoulder and nodding.

You don’t have to tell Y/N twice that there’s cake- she leaves us in the dust rushing back to the table. Smartass is left shaking a fist after the manager.

Everyone's been begging to meet you, Gohan finally caves.

“Hey, Pan. Come meet your new sibling!” Videl encourages after the now oldest child lets go of her father.

The girl inches closer to her mother and the bundle in her arms.

Pan blinks for a moment in surprise, “Oh, hi, there.”

Your gaze at your sister, taking her in for a moment before your gaze drifts away, not quite strong enough to focus completely yet.

Pan frowns in worry, “Are the baby’s eyes okay?”

Videl giggles, “Mhm. The baby’s a newborn, the eye muscles have to get stronger. The vision has to get better, too.”

“Oh, so there’s nothing wrong?” she glanced back down at you.

“No, a perfectly healthy baby.”

Pan brushes a finger against your jaw, smiling when you grab at it in curiosity.

“Did you name the baby yet?”

Gohan approached them, joining his daughter in giving the baby affection, “We actually went with the name you thought of, Pan.”

Her eyes sparkled, “Really? You went with [Name]?”

“Why not? You were the most excited out of all of us,” he smiled.

Videl ruffled her hair, “And you made sure to take such good care of me.”

Gohan chuckled, “Yes, you did! ‘Mom, be careful with that, don’t hurt the baby!’”

“I wasn’t that bad!”

“You were a little worry wart, but it was adorable, don’t worry.”

Videl raised a brow, “You weren’t that much better than her, sweetheart.”

Pan tickled your chin, “[Name]’s really quiet for a baby.”

“Like father, like child.”

Gohan crossed his arms, hiding a grin, “Says you, you and Pan are practically clones.”

“But it’s okay…that just means it my job to protect [Name], right?” Pan grinned with determination.

Gohan nodded, “That’s right—Yeeeow!”

He cringed at his red finger, holding it in agony.

Videl could only laugh, “Guess [Name]’s telling you they can protect themselves, Gohan.”

“Clearly…”

Once everyone hears Videl is home, they’re all eager to meet you.

But Gohan wants to wait, until bright lights or loud sounds won’t affect you as strongly…because his family can be loud.

Mainly, Goku and his Father-in-law.

Really, those are the only people he’s worried about.

But Piccolo is the first to meet you before anyone else.

First, that’s his father-figure…and he already would babysit Pan, so you got added to the deal.

Which was a big deal for you, since this was the first alien being you would see that didn’t look like the average human.

But honestly, you were more curious than startled like Gohan worried you might be.

Piccolo immediately had a liking for you, he enjoyed that you were quiet. It gave him a little break from the wildness of Pan’s adventurous side as a girl fresh out of toddler-ville.

Even though, you had a few moments of randomly powering up, you never got reckless.

He didn’t mind when you would play with his ears or randomly grab up his fingers.

He made sure to be gentle so he never poked you with his nails. But the one time he did, you only jumped, rather than break into tears like he’d expected.

There was a worry something was wrong when you didn’t cry for much, but the doctor assured them you were healthy, the noise might have just startled you, so you avoided it.

But then you did cry for the first time.

Piccolo was playing with you while Pan napped.

He would never admit how soft he was for the two of you.

But then Gohan came back and Piccolo thought he’d go ahead and go.

But you didn’t take your game being interrupted so well.

You bawled, crying out for the Namekian.

Gohan blinked in surprise, while Piccolo sighed and picked you up.

Your crying quieted after a moment and you begun to mess with the hand sitting loosely on your stomach.

“Looks like [Name] really likes you Piccolo,” Gohan smiled.

“Yeah, I noticed.”

This promoted the crew to get a little offended.

“How come Piccolo’s already met [Name] tons of times but all we’ve seen are pictures?” Bulma complained.

“I’m your Mother for goodness sakes!” Chi-Chi reasoned.

Gohan rubbed his neck, “Mom, no offense, but you on your own aren’t the quietest person, let alone when you’re with dad…”

It went like this until you were hitting close to being three months old.

“Fine, I’ll bring [Name] by the next time we all meet up.”

“Aw…my grandbaby…” Chi-Chi cooed.

“So cute, definitely will be getting spoiled,” Bulma giggled.

“The little one is pretty quiet,” 18 observed.

Krillin chuckled, “Just like the dad.”

“Vegeta, come see the baby,” Bulma quietly called over.

“We’ve already had an exchange,” he crossed his arms.

Vegeta scrutinized you from the temporary crib you laid in.

“So, you’re the little infant everyone’s been going crazy over? You look like any other child I’ve seen.”

“[Name], is it? I suppose the name isn’t terrible. I personally would have given you a name suitable of a Saiyan, but to each his own. You are also human after all.”

Your eyes flutter open at the foreign voice, you seem to take him in with a tilt of your head.

He glares at you, “What? Think I’m not worthy enough to be in your presence?”

But you simply smile at him and make a noise that was giggle-like.

“You think an…adorable smile will deter me, Prince Vegeta? What is your angle here?”

You find your finger more convincing than his intimidation and decide to taste the weird thing.

“Who am I kidding? You’re putting a damn finger in your mouth—But that power level…”

He chuckled, “Oh, Gohan’s going have a hell of a time with you during the terrible two’s.”

He gently moved your finger from your mouth, “You’ll get sick from all the germs there. I’m doing you a favor.”

Then you take interest in his finger, grabbing it quicker than he can pull away.

“Impressive reaction time. Ow, hey! That isn’t very polite.”

You give him an innocent look, squeezing his thumb harder, giggling again at the yelp he produced.

“You little brat. Let go! You’re definitely Kakarot’s grandchild…”

“I like having all my fingers. So, I will keep my distance,” he gazed at you with distrust, while you babbled.

Chi-Chi blinked in confusion with the others.

“Well, your loss,” Bulma shrugged.

Gohan shivered, “Don’t worry, I understand completely, Vegeta.”

Trunks quickly took your attention and Goten joined him, “Hey, hurry and get big so we can play together, okay?”

“Take your time. Trunks might be a little too rough—Ow!” Goten gripped his bicep.

“Hey, don’t ruin my rep with [Name] already, we just met,” Trunks pouted.

“Not so loud, boys.”

“Sorry…”

Then you met Tien, which you seemed to like, then Yamcha, which you found confusing.

He made so many strange faces, which left you unimpressed and confused as to which one was his.

But perhaps you weren’t used to him yet, so that was why.

Then you met your maternal grandfather.

Now, he…startled you.

He had a loud approach to you, so you ended up pouting.

“Dad, quiet, please.”

“Sorry, Honey-pumpkin…”

Then Goku arrived, “Hey, guys! Sorry, I’m late, I—”

“Shhh!”

“Tough crowd.”

“Goku, be quiet before your grandchild loses their hearing!” Chi-Chi whisper shouted.

“Oh, [Name]’s here?”

You titled you head in curiosity, his face looked familiar, then you looked across from you to your father.

You made whining sound as your gaze switched between them in confusion.

Goku smiled and came closer, “Hey, there. It’s nice to meet ya’ [Name].”

You reached out in curiosity, surely a man that looked like the man you were most familiar with couldn’t be too scary, right?

“Please don’t drop the baby, Goku…” Chi-Chi watched, on edge as Goku held you.

“Sheesh, have a little faith in me, hun.”

You decided to explore his hair first, surprisingly gentle for an infant.

“You like it, huh?” he blinked when your other hand ran down his face, “Curious one, aren’t you?”

You gripped his hair in one hand and his head in the other, climbing up his head, “Whoa! Careful.”

He reached his arms up, holding you securely, “[Name]’s strong Gohan. Like Pan.”

“Yeah, I’ve noticed.”

“Maybe I should get to training, [Name].”

“You are not about to train our--practically three-month-old--grandchild how to fight! You already have Pan, let [Name] get an education first!” Chi-Chi protested.

Sitting on Goku’s head, you fold over, meeting his eyes upside down.

“Hi!” he gently tickles your sides, earning a hearty giggle from you.

You reach down, grabbing something from the collar of his Gi.

“Hm? Oh, I don’t think that’ll taste very good.”

“Goku, [Name] can’t eat food yet.”

He attempted to take the pea from you, surprised by your grip.

“Goodness--wants the pea more than I do.”

Goku finally took the pea from your fingers, soothing your whines for it.

“You can’t have it yet. Don’t worry, I’ll save it for you.”

“Dad, you can’t save a pea for that long.”

Hello, Ninjago fandom, while we impatiently wait for the second half of Crystalized to be released, may I interest you in some good old nostalgic shows with familiar Canadian voice actors to pass the time. Ironically, Sam Vincent (Lloyd’s VA) is in every single one of my suggested shows and in 3 of the 4, he’s got a lead role. XD

Also, I need more people to revive some of these old fandoms! Please hear me out while I info dump! The options get better as we go along since I firmly believe in saving the best for last. I hope you like my long ramble.

First off, we have Slugterra:

This show had a pretty good run with multiple seasons and specials. It’s a good action show and enjoyable for passing the time. I binge watched it while reading through my driver’s training stuff. A solid Saturday morning-esque show.

As far as notable characters and voice actors go, we’ve got:

Eli Shane voiced by Sam Vincent (Lloyd’s VA): he’s the main guy and very comparable to Lloyd since he’s got daddy issues. Poor guy spends forever trying to locate his dad while at the same time filling the role as hero and protector of the Caverns. Also, he’s the reason this show got so many female viewers. Those simps.

Dr. Thaddeus Blakk voiced by Mark Oliver (Garmadon’s VA): he’s the typical big bad villain type. A bit bland but it’s hilarious to listen to if you’re a Ninjago fan because all you end up hearing is Lloyd vs. Garmadon half the time.

Kord Zane voiced by Andrew Francis (Morro’s VA): he’s a troll and the muscle and mechanic of the main group. Not much to say about him. He’s a sweet, protective dude. Also, I just like that he’s got the name Kord Zane since I’m a huge Zane fan.

Trixie Sting voiced by Shannon Chan-Kent (Racer Seven’s VA): she’s neat and seems to be the second in command to Eli. She’s you’re typical strong female character type. Good news is that there’s no annoying trope that she is in love with the main guy though.

Pronto voiced by Lee Tockar (Borg’s VA): he fits the comedic relief trope really well. Unfortunately, he’s borderline annoying for me. I don’t have anything really notable to say about him. You just gotta tolerate him. Occasionally he has his uses.

Junjie voiced by Vincent Tong (Kai’s VA): he’s not a main character but I really love him and the Asian influence the show goes through when he’s around. Cool dude that also has so much trauma packed into him when you think about all he went through. You’ll understand if you watch.

Burpy is the iconic slug of the series. A 10/10 character. Loyal as ever and super adorable. Sassy when he wants to be.

Pros of this show:

Adorable side character slugs with awesome powers

Elemental slugs!!

a whole arc about trying to free a place from an evil emperor (sound familiar?)

Teaches against animal cruelty.

Shadow creatures that for once aren’t evil villains.

So many other familiar side characters with Ninjago VA’s. It’s honestly just fun to see how many familiar voices you can pick out.

Interesting concept, lore, and world building if you dig deep enough and overanalyze everything.

Cool fights and slug shootouts.

Action with a side of found family is always a plus.

Solid team dynamics and brotherly teasing.

A bonus is that there’s very little romance in this show. Very refreshing to see.

Next we have a forgotten classic, Class of the Titans:

This show had two seasons and had a decent ending. It definitely deserved more run time because there really aren’t that many animated shows about Greek Mythology that are kid friendly. A big main crew with a few familiar Ninjago voice actors sprinkled in for the fun of it. Another Saturday morning-esque show but with a better feel of having an overarching plot than Slugterra did in my opinion.

They have so many character tropes that create the whole main crew so I’m going to try to go through them quickly.

Jay voiced by Kirby Morrow (Cole’s VA): the level-headed leader. Very similar to how Cole started out as team leader. Also, it’s just funny for Ninjago fans to see a character named Jay be voiced by Cole’s voice actor.

Theresa voiced by Kelly Sheridan (Gayle Gossip’s VA or better known for playing Barbie): a psychic seer who is Jay’s love interest (reminds me of Barbie and the Nutcracker solely bc of the voice actors). I wish I liked her more, especially since she’s a seer like Zane. Honestly, neither girl characters really stand out to me but they’re nice to have around.

Atlanta voiced by Meghan Black in season one: the action archer girl who has super speed. She’s neat and very strong-willed. (Side note: I find it funny that every main character girl I’ve mentioned so far are all redheads.)

Odie voiced by Doron Bell Jr. (Griffin’s VA): the smart tech guy. He has his uses and sassy moments. It’s also funny to see what was considered high tech back in the mid 2000s.

Herry voiced by Ty Olsson: your typical strong, protective, big brother guy trope. He’s got a really awesome, scrappy grandma.

Neil voiced by Ted Cole: the self-absorbed guy who serves as comedic relief a good portion of the time. Some might find him annoying but he has his high points and is genuinely funny. He’s not a fighter at all and is dubbed “the lucky one.” And boy, is he lucky indeed.

Archie voiced by Sam Vincent (Lloyd’s VA): my personal favorite. He’s an occasional jerk but he’s genuinely an adorkable guy. I relate to his whole “wonky ankle” thing, but he’s a great warrior regardless (and the second fastest on the team? How?). He’s got a huge crush on Atlanta which is amusing and sometimes cringy to watch.

Cronus voiced by David Kaye: the main villain of the show. Typical wicked guy who wants to end the kids who are prophesied to defeat him. I know there’s a good number of simps for him. It’s hilarious how much this god loathes this group of kids but is also genuinely terrified of them, especially Jay.

Pros:

If you’re missing Cole’s voice actor, this is the show to watch.

The entire show is free on YouTube Very imaginative spin on some of the Greek gods like Dionysius to make it kid friendly. And wait til you see Hades.

Still, they aren’t afraid to show the gods can be petty and vengeful.

Greek mythology! What more could you want?

I personally love the way they showcase so many Greek characters and creatures. Is it sometimes off? Yes. Is it still enjoyable to watch? YES!

Interesting battles and solutions.

Will show death and the occasional bloody injury. (Not overtly graphic though so don’t worry.)

The poor kids, similar to Lloyd, are prophecy bound to defeat the evil villain and thus have their lives turned upside to become heroes fighting monsters. Theresa eventually throws a somewhat justified hissy fit over this.

Enjoyable characters and team dynamics. So much sibling teasing between everyone and it’s so relatable to watch.

Also, they’re just teens being teens so they do stupid stuff sometimes and that just makes it all the more fun to watch.

A bonus, there’s two girls on the team rather than your stereotypical one main girl trope.

A big favorite of mine, Storm Hawks:

Oh look, another red head character with green eyes. And he’s the lead character voiced by Sam Vincent! XD Here me out though, this show is actually great. If you can get past the funky character designs and animation, it’s a genuinely fun show. It’s so imaginative and for me, it ticks all the right tropes. I would like to say that if you’re a Ninjago fan, you just might be able to like Storm Hawks. It’s a show that I rewatch again and again and still enjoy it. Fans of it will say it ended to soon with only two seasons and an open conclusion that leaves room for more adventures. I wish there was more. The flow was good and I felt it followed a decent overarching plot with quirky filler episodes thrown in to establish the characters more.

Now as far as main characters go, we have a good mix of interesting ones. Yes, they fall into stereotypical archetypes but for some reason, I really like them:

Aerrow voiced by Sam Vincent (Lloyd’s VA: the young, ambitious Sky Knight of the Storm Hawks. He’s your typical, altruistic hero/leader/chosen one. I love how you can really see how much he cares for his team. He’s got a big legacy to live up to and you know what, he’s absolutely demolishing everyone’s limited expectations of him. This boy survived multiple fights with the supposedly deadliest warrior in the world.

Piper voiced by Chiara Zanni: she’s the intelligent one of the bunch and typically possesses the one brain cell they all share. She’s the navigator, crystal expert, and the second in command. In short, she’s an adorable nerd and my favorite despite having some out of character moments. I also like the little something something she’s got going on with Aerrow. Yes, it’s cliché but it’s open enough that you can interpret it romantically or platonically. And honestly, the way Piper is written, you could almost say she’s bi. But holy cow, that finale with her and Aerrow was everything! Love it.

Junko voiced by Colin Murdock (Ed’s VA aka Jay’s dad): the stereotypical gentle giant type. He’s sweet and strong but constantly doubts his ability because he was bullied. He’s similar to Kord from Slugterra in that he’s got muscle but also serves as the airship’s mechanic. He has a couple of spotlight episodes that do his character justice.

Finn voiced by Matt Hill (Hyper-Sonic’s VA aka that random disco head racer from Prime Empire): on the outside, when paired with Junko, they typically serve as the meat headed comic relief. However, when it comes down to it, Finn is selfless and will make the right choice as episodes have shown. He can get annoying but I highly appreciate that he knows how to buckle down and get a job done and he truly is a great sharpshooter.

Stork voiced by Scott McNeil (VA for many villains in Ninjago): one of the fan favorites for his doom and gloom sort of attitude. He’s the pilot and gives off emo vibes to me. A very relatable character for most pessimists. He’s the oldest of the crew full of kids but he sticks it out through all their wild adventures even if he is completely terrified while trying to survive. Still, he’s got a beserk button so don’t you ever think of touch his precious ship, the Condor. He can and will take out a complete armada.

Radarr voiced by Asaph Fipke: he’s Aerrow’s co-pilot and animal companion of the show. He’s very scrappy and has good intuition. A valuable member of the Storm Hawks. He even gets a couple of his own episodes to shine in.

Now, I gotta mention the villains too since there is a quirky handful of them:

Cyclonis voiced by Lenore Zann: she’s the lead villain and ruler of her kingdom at just 14 years old. She’s very powerful and very intimidating when she wants to be since she’s got a bunch of wacky crystal powers like Piper. I find her interesting just because she’s a young girl who serves as the main big bad villain versus previous shows where it’s a broad-shouldered middle aged guy in a black suit. I wish they showed more on her backstory but a decent villain nonetheless. Comparable to Harumi in that she’s a female kid villain who is deep down broken and lonely and in desperate need of therapy and a friend.

Dark Ace voiced by Sam Vincent (Lloyd’s VA): is the second in command to Cyclonis and is extremely loyal to her. He’s constantly getting beat by Aerrow and can never manage to exterminate him much to his annoyance. It’s hilarious watching their fights because it’s just Sam Vincent alternating between tones. He’s got cool red eyes and I do believe he also has a bit of a following among the female fans.

Ravess voiced by Cathy Weseluck (Patty Keys VA aka that random sales lady): she’s an archer who has a penchant for the violin. I love her leitmotif whenever she comes onscreen. Ambitious but still scared to turn on her 14 year old boss. She does play a helpful role I towards the finale.

Snipe voiced by Colin Murdock (Ed’s VA): he’s the brother of Ravess and serves as the big dumb muscle guy. I don’t really care for him but his sibling interactions with Ravess are funny.

Raptors voiced by a bunch of familiar VAs: I just had to mention this reptilian group because they are reminiscent of the Serpentine from Ninjago.

Pros:

Great side characters and fun episodes.

Good action and adventure vibes

The whole show is free on YouTube.

Again, world building and lore is very imaginative. It deserved a larger budget and more seasons.

Has your typical chosen/prophesied one narrative that we’ve all come to either love or hate.

Crystal magic (kinda like how we’re now on the season Crystalized)

Adorable main cast who all get a chance in the spotlight, and even the annoying ones do have their high points like I mentioned.

Ninjago VA’s are everywhere in this show too. And with the limited voices they have, they really make the most of it but it’s hilarious to see VA’s essentially talking to themselves onscreen.

And once again, there’s top notch team dynamics in this show with good sibling-like interactions between characters. They squabble but still make up and really care for each other’s wellbeing.

Found family trope is in this and it’s great and I’m a sucker for it. It’s heavily implied the three human kid heroes are orphans so there’s that lovely dose of angst I always love.

Something about Aerrow being a leader just hits right. He’s a great one even if he is just 14 years old.

Good balance between high stakes and humor. The main characters are kids and heroes and it shows with all the shenanigans they manage to throw themselves into.

Great finale. Trust me. The show gets better as you continue to watch it and the episodes get less disjointed.

Friends to lovers or just really close friends trope between Aerrow and Piper. I cannot stop gushing about how natural their dynamic feels and how they play off each other’s energy beautifully. They communicate openly and really well with each other. And if romance isn’t your thing, their bond can totally be seen as platonic.

Cyclonis is a curious villain character that is different from your stereotypical guy cartoon villain. I like her and her powers.

Huge bonus that Ninjago has struggled with doing well, love triangles. Storm Hawks has no place for that. In fact, it subverts that trope entirely! Piper does not act all jealous whenever there is another girl character around and this is a huge breath of fresh air from the pettiness many shows contain. Aerrow occasionally acts wary and annoyed when Piper gushes over stuck up guys, but it’s proven justified and he isn’t overprotective or obnoxious about it. Just cautious and comforting when things do go south.

And lastly, this underrated masterpiece, The Deep:

Great news, this show is still ongoing and recently released their 4th season. It’s got a decent overarching narrative of searching for a lost underwater city Lemuria. There are many filler episodes, but trust me, they are fun. Not gonna lie, I’m a huge sucker for any ocean animated shows. This one is just so funny and relatable. It’s got great family dynamics with many familiar Ninjago voice actors. The adventures and creatures are all so cool! It ties myth, mystery, and science all into one great show. The sci-fi fantasy vibe is amazing. But basically, my liking of this show is hugely centered on not just the creativity of it but the strong family dynamics that glues the entire show together. Unlike most shows where parents are absent or there’s only one, this cartoon portrays a lovely married couple and their kids. Seriously, how often does the chosen one/protagonist of the show actually get a decent childhood with loving parents?!

With characters, we have a small main cast with a handful of recurring side characters. This means, you gotta love the main characters:

Antaeus Nekton aka Ant voiced by Vincent Tong (Kai’s VA): he’s the excitable main protagonist child and chosen one of the family. He’s extremely curious and gets into trouble often, but fortunately for him, he’s got an intelligent engineering mind that helps him get out of trouble… most times. Fortunately for him though, he’s got a great family backing him up. I find him to be a likable character as far as protagonists go and good representation of annoying younger siblings.

Fontaine Nekton voiced by Ashleigh Ball (Sally’s VA aka that pink-haired girl from Crystalized): she’s the older sister character. Sometimes she acts as the only voice of reason onboard the ship. I find her extremely relatable. It’s clear that although Ant annoys her, she still very much loves him and will do anything to protect him and that is so wholesome. She’s got a crush on Finn who’s a slick teen pirate voiced by Sam Vincent (Lloyd’s VA) and most of the fandom really loves the flirty dynamic they have. I gotta admit, they are pretty cute together.

William Nekton aka Will voiced by Michael Dobson (VA for many Ninjago side characters): he is the dad and the muscle of the crew. Still, like everyone else, he’s smart. He’s super reasonable and a really great example of a good father and husband. He has his funny moments and craziness too though.

Kaiko Nekton voiced by Kathleen Barr (Misako’s VA): this woman is my personal favorite and I could gush on and on about how totally awesome she is. Unlike Misako, Kaiko is the most awesome mother ever to her kids and is fiercely protective of them. She has a wide skill set from being a submarine pilot, mechanic, and marine biologist. In short, she’s amazing and I’m a huge simp for her.

Jeffrey: he’s the adorable animal sidekick. He’s an intelligent, expressive fish and has helped saved the Nekton family on multiple occasions. Very relatable because he is cookie-motivated. Smarter than your average wannabe pirate.

Nereus voiced by Lee Tockar (Borg’s VA): he’s your typical mystical old dude with a long white beard. Essentially he’s the Wu of this show. Funny but infuriatingly cryptic at times.

Pros:

This show was based off comics so you can go read those. (Kaiko gets an awesome moment in those that I really wish they would have kept in the tv show.)

Vaguely based off the Incredibles.

Non-absent parents who are top notch and actually parent their kids fairly.

Submarines and marine life are always a plus in my book.

Family dynamics are on point. Seriously, this is top notch stuff right here. Also, sibling dynamics are so sweet.

Representation of a good solid marriage. Bonus points because it’s interracial, making their kids mixed. All-round good representation.

Good musical score. (Not as good as Ninjago’s but still pretty good.)

The whole family is smart and super skilled but it shows that they still make mistakes and are flawed humans just like everyone else. Even the parents aren’t shown to be completely infallible and land in their own sticky situations plenty of times and I find that super neat and good of the writers to do.

Great mind-boggling adventures.

The villains are wacky yet endearing sometimes.

There’s villain that is reminiscent of Morro. He’s even got the same voice actor and goes through the same arc of being all jealous of the chosen one.

”Have faith in the fish.” Jeffrey is great animal companion. Who knew you could actually make a fish work as a good character.

Just huge bonus overall with this show because of the solid family representation we’ve got going on here.

Basically, to sum everything up, GO WATCH THESE SHOWS! And let me know if you enjoy them, I would love to hear your thoughts on them.

Um, is it still ok for people to send advice requests? The post I found about it was 4 years old so I'm not sure if that's changed at all (but the fact I was searching deep enough in the persecutors tag to find a 4 year old post probably tells you something).

Like it's great and all to see people talking about how to help hosts connect with persecutors but I never see any advice for the actual persecutors.

I don't want to talk to the rest of my system. I don't want to talk to our friends or our therapist. I don't trust anybody. I hate everybody.

The others keep telling me the "bad stuff" is over and I don't have to keep being a persecutor. But I know better. There are always people just waiting for us to let our guards down. I hate them for being so vulnerable and then when it comes back to bite them, they act like they have any right to be hurt by it.

And they never listen to me. They act like I'M the pathetic one and feel sorry for me, and keep telling me stupid lies. The more they're nice to me the more I don't trust them, same for our friends and therapist. No one is ever nice without an ulterior motive, especially not to people like us who don't even deserve it.

But I feel kinda miserable. I don't really like when I hurt the others. Today I made my in-system big sis cry and she never cries. I feel stuck. I don't want to open up to anybody but I can't figure out the answer by myself.

Don't worry about it, it's cool XD We kinda just float on here to chat about things and are basically always open for casual advice and two cents on things, especially (but not exclusively) related to DID which is / was the obvious original premise of this blog. (also damn we've been running this blog for over four years damn)

Honestly, in our experience persecutors vary greatly related to the specific stuff they've been through, what sort of dynamics are being played with what parts, what situations trigger persecutory behavior, etc so I don't think there is really any "one size fits all" sort of thing I can particularly share.

Instead I can give some food for thoughts from our experiences in our system and you are more than welcome to send another ask if you have any comments or questions or anything on it - cause again, we are just here to sit and chat for the most part.

We have a good few "persecutors" but we also don't really use that as a role label anymore cause in our experience, persecutors just tend to be labeled that as a result of perspective and the direction that life is going which comes with an inherent bias to the host and prominent protecting parts. And due to that perspective and bias approach to the label, it kind of paints one side as the problem and the other side as the victim when really... its just a toxic breakdown of communication and missunderstanding between parts. I'm of the opinion that almost any part in most persecutor/persecutee dynamics (there are exceptions I've heard, but they're not standard) can be framed to be the persecutor OR the persecutee.

As a result, in our system, we comment on a part having "persecutory behavior" or "behaving in a persecutory manner" because it's a common issue a lot of parts in our system have. Some have it more than others, but in our experience, almost all parts have been in a position that could be considered a "persecutor" and that shift in language has honestly helped foster a lot more open dialogue and understanding between parts.

With that said - most of this is going to be things XIV has talked to me about as he actually is an ex "persecutor" part and one that talks and deals with persecutor parts the most as of the last two years - a lot of discussion on both ends tend to focus on the dysfunction and what the persecutor hates about the system or what the system can't stand / cope with regarding a persecutor and while that is TOTALLY fair and valid (shits hard to look past especially if its a large scale safety thing and a frequent thing that comes up), it's often not the most productive approach to the internal conflict

Typically it's a lot more productive to step aside from the surface level "this is dangerous" "this is stupid" "this person is an idiot" "this part is annoying" and the long list of things you hate about the system and specific parts and all the varying-levels-of-based criticisms / complaints and try to figure out and understand what exactly it is that you WANT - what are you looking for - what is driving and motivating your feelings, behavior, thoughts, and stances to all of that.

It's hard to address and satiate a list of the things you Don't Like when you have trauma cause - lets be real, the list is endless and its very easy to find more and more issues. Often beneath that list though, there is a core need, drive, interest, etc that means a lot to you that ties together a lot of why you feel and think the way that you do. If you can identify that core need, drive, and interest, it can really help communication and compromising between parts because more often than not, that core need, drive, and interest is likely compatible with the other part's core need, drive and interest - at least superficially.

If that same grounds can be made, then it can help really get parts hearing each other out because it forms a base of good faith.

It's hard to talk to one another when one part wants - for example - to have a person to love and to be loved and wants to seek out a relationship and ANOTHER part wants to keep things the way they are and wants to keep others away because its safer that way. Those two parts are arguing for incompatible demands and the conflict is not going to really go anywhere

Instead however, if we are talking about one part wanting to be loved and another part wanting safety - well there is a lot more discussion that can be done as to how the system can approach BOTH being loved AND safety.

Of course that requires all parties to be playing with an open mind to some modification to their initial demands and expectations, but it's a general approach that XIV tends to take with parts that are prone or actively behaving in persecutory manners cause it's how he tends to navigate it.

Also this advice isn't really meant to be directed at persecutors or "the other parts" cause again, we don't really see those as clean cut roles and generally think this is a sort of approach and philosophy and methodology that is something that all engaged parts would benefit from reflecting on.

Cause even if you don't like other parts, even if you HATE other parts, if you can clearly identify what it is you need in life and what it is you are driven and motivated by - it is very hard to deny some level of cooperation if the other party is actively offering to help you get the very thing that motivates you. You don't have to like someone to know that - due to sharing a body - having them on your side to get what you want / need is very helpful and important.

So I guess if I had to say any form of advice, I'd kinda want to ask what it is that you want from your life and what does that mean to you and just kinda think on it for some time.

It's more productive to stand for what you care for and need than it is to fight against what you hate.

The ending of Dracula SUCKS because it’s both laughably anticlimactic and the peak of the novel’s racism. The biggest plot twist of Dracula is that Dracula is not a good book.

In the climax, because Dracula is asleep(tm) in his coffin, Stoker decides he has to throw in some mini bosses for the gang to fight instead— Dracula’s carriage drivers, a bunch of Romani people.

It’s one of the many areas where Stoker makes the racist subtext explicit text?

We get a “climax” where the heavily armed white heroes violently attack this caravan of sorta-armed Romani people and it’s framed as noble and heroic. (we’re supposed to Assume the driver are inherently guilty/okay to attack because they’re Romani, and other Romani people were helping Dracula in the castle chapters, and we all know Those People can’t be trusted!! etc etc) It's nearly “B*rth of a Nation” level racism.

Also not to roast Quincey— but I do love how this squad of white people armed with GUNS could barely defeat this ragtag little group of barely-armed carriage drivers, and even lost one of their members trying to do it. Stoker’s trying to frame them as noble underdogs but they come across as overpowered hyper-violent incompetent idiots who couldn’t manage a clean attack even when everything was on their side. XD

The entire novel is essentially a fantasy version of “B*rth of a Nation”-style tropes? It’s “the evil foreign race preying on our innocent white woman.” This is made extremely explicit in the scene when Mina compares her predicament to the predicaments of women in war zones who are killed by their husbands in order to prevent the foreign enemy from having sex with them. In the narrative, murdering your wife like this is framed as Good. Mina believes she should be killed like this before a Foreign Man Takes her in order to preserve her purity, and the narrative agrees with her. She is a “good English woman” because she believes she’s better dead than corrupted by a foreigner, and if she is corrupted by the foreigner her soul will be damned forever.

After all, the foreigners are evil! Either your wife is a Mina, a Good Wife who is assaulted by the poor evil foreigner, and whose purity can only be regained if you violently take revenge. … or your wife is a Lucie, a Misled Child who says she’s happy now but it’s because Her Mind isn’t Her Own Anymore and shes going to hell and she’s so poisoned by the foreigner that she needs to be put down like a rabid dog to protect the white English race.

I’ve seen people make comments about how bad it is that adaptations tend to make Dracula somewhat genuinely seductive/lovable to Mina compared to the book, which baffles me? It frustrates me that a lot of analysis is treating Dracula like a real person, rather than a character who was written in a specific way for a specific reason.

Yes it is bad that Dracula-the-person sexually assaults the other characters. But the reason Dracula-the-Character is written that way is because Stoker is writing him as a metaphor for Evil Foreign Races Preying on Our White Women. The reason book- Dracula is written so unsympathetically isn’t because Stoker is making a progressive point about sexual assault, but because he’s using Dracula as a deeply regressive symbol of the evil Foreigners having sex with white women who must be exterminated to preserve the purity of white English children.

Honestly I feel like the reason most adaptations make the Count genuinely alluring/seductive/sympathetic is because there’s really…not much to his character in the original novel, outside of being the archetypal Evil Foreigner who is Evil because Foreign, which is both offensive and also really shallow/uninteresting. Later adaptations are more interested with portraying Dracula as more tragic or sympathetic or at least more genuinely seductive because...well at least that's SOMETHING to add to this nothing character.

There’s a lot of potential in some of the concepts and aesthetics and plot points of Dracula, but most of the “deeper thematic elements” of the book are bigoted, shallow, or both.

It makes sense that adaptations have decided to attempt to give the characters depth, nuance, and interest that they didn’t have in the original novel? Or to take the aesthetics but flat-out reject all of Stoker's takes and argue with him about every single thematic element? and I am completely on board with vampire reimaginings that continuing to spit on Bram Stoker’s legacy. I hope people continue to make him roll in his grave. XD.

And again, I'm kinda surprised there were so many people during the Dracula Daily readalong acting as if the book portraying Dracula as purely evil is somehow more progressive than later adaptations portraying him as tragically sympathetic or seductive, when "questioning why the author chose to write Dracula as the monster" is kinda like "baby's first Dracula criticism." I mean that, in even in Hotel Transylvania (the recent kid's cartoon) part of the central plot is that Dracula's family is hunted down because bigoted people assume vampires are monstrous predators incapable of love. And it's not because Hotel Transylvania is a deep challenging movie, but because "let's question Why we've decided to invent this entire class of foreign predatory monsters it's okay to kill without remorse" is such a normal milquetoast uncontroversial mainstream critique of Dracula that you'll even find it in Adam Sandler children's movies. XD.

it's awful liking eggman and self inserting bc i know he's toxic, but part of that feels like the reason i stay in the first place. i've been in relationships where it was hard to win their affection, and i feel like i'm just trying to replicate that with him and other villains i like. it's like, yeah i know i'll never "fix them" but it's fun (and self destructive probably lmao)

I can completely relate and I always wonder how or if I should say it because I thought people would think I was weird for portraying it that way, (years ago I actually got concerned asks about it 👉👈) even though it is the only way it'd be accurate after all and I care a lot about having him accurate as the same exact guy I fell in love with in the games. And I already think it shows a lot in the ways I write him acting in all kinds of relationships.

The way it's... familiar territory to me for various reasons, is strangely comforting to me to explore through fictional self insert shipping and I'm most attracted to characters where I can replicate it. That's part of why most of my favorite things about Eggman are the bad toxic parts and why I always keep them as part of the shipping stuff besides caring for character accuracy and finding it interesting and entertaining.

And all those reasons combined is why it's more than fine to me that he's irredeemable and I don't see the appeal in writing him becoming a better person when he has a partner because I don't want to fix him anyway. Him being a bad guy and a real villain is perfect to me and I don't see appeal in losing those things that pulled me in in the first place. His nasty angry selfish egotistical asshole side is alluring to me dhskgjkgjskg

I just like to think I could make him happy through stroking his ego and serving him and the empire well and getting to be with him as part of it, it would be rewarding enough because his happiness is what I'd like to try to earn and enjoy and it would make me feel useful. The idea of running away with him with the premise of him saying it can give me purpose and make me good for something makes me swoon XD

And yeah it may be a bit self destructive but I'm just masochistic and into degradation as a result and exploring the dynamic through him serves it and is better than being in that kind of situation again for real beyond just roleplay irl. And this time I get some power in from a writer perspective at least by deciding the events I imagine and right, it's the same dynamic but it makes that tiny difference ya know

So hey you're not alone. I feel like most cases it's the opposite with people, so I felt like the odd one out. It's just comforting and fun to love a horrible guy and know he is but still showing passionate devotion and it feeling familiar, and I find him so loveable and it's a lot more exciting and entertaining this time. It's a positive helpful experience that lets me honestly explore and express myself in a pleasant way 💜

i never really enjoyed the episodes on the island during s.2 (it’s been two years or so since i watched the series fully, idk the names <\3), what are your thoughts? what do you think the island added to the series besides run time and jokes? the only part i really liked about the island eps was when they had the totem that made them see what they really, REALLY wanted in that moment and how they kinda reflected that throughout s.3 (i can only think of rapz and lance rn. rapz wanting her parents = losing them by their memories being taken away during s.3, and lance receiving wealth and stability by being a part of rapunzel’s crew)

The island gave us Rapunzel and Eugene's island outfits, and I won't hear a word against them. XD

Honestly, I felt like "King Pascal" was just "Pascal's Story Redux". We didn't need another episode where he felt all left out. (Though Lance had some absolutely amazing moments in that ep, and again, we got to see Rapunzel and Eugene's island outfits for the first time.)

I did like "There's Something About Hook Foot" more than I thought I would, though. As much as people disliked his presence on the journey, I didn't mind it, and I adored that Seraphina is a plus-size mermaid and is described as stunningly beautiful. That episode also allowed us to see Rapunzel and Eugene at odds with one another which is good! It's not that a couple fighting is "healthy," as some sources might have you believe, but allowing them to have their own personalities and not always agree with one another is not a bad thing. Not to mention, they did healthily go about their conflict resolution, and it was interesting to analyze each of their sides of the argument.

Eugene thinks love is hard work. The only other long-term relationship he's been in (that we know of) was with Stalyan, and if that wasn't hard work, I don't know what was! Not to mention, his own experience courting Rapunzel has been difficult. Frederic resisted the idea of Eugene being with Rapunzel for at least six months, calling him her friend to her face. Eugene thinks love is hard work because he feels like he needs to always appear perfect to be seen worthy of Rapunzel. Rapunzel, on the other hand, thinks being yourself is what it takes. Her only experience with romantic love is with Eugene, and he fell in love with her because she's her. To her, loving Eugene is easy, and it seems to be easy for him to love her. If love is hard work, is she not working hard enough? Is he not being his authentic self and hiding who he really is from her? Does he think she's not being her authentic self? There's a lot to unpack under the surface.

This episode also canonized mermaids in the universe, as well as Vodniks, which I think is just swell. Plus, it gave us level two of the Smolder: the Simmer. Can't go wrong. XD

I agree with you about "Happiness Is..." being the best one of the group (even if it is a sort of anti-drug allegory). It was very funny, quite touching, Eugene looks amazing with green eyes, and we got level three of the Smolder: the Blaze. I didn't know I needed two more levels of the Smolder in my life, but here we are! XD

I don't mind the Lorbs existing, but their execution wasn't my favorite. But they are further reminders that Tangled does not take place in our world, if little tropical leaf people with German accents exist.

So, fun fact about the series, they wanted S2 to be in a different location in every episode, but that cost too much in location production. So instead, they were in a new location in almost every episode, with pit stops in Vardaros, Terapi Island and The House of Yesterday's Tomorrow.
