#After my family died I felt that before I decided to get revenge

Note
hello. I desperately want to die. Any advice on how I stop that. Much appreciated.
-🐐
I don’t know what caused you this but I hope you can believe I tell you great people have risen from more. Even ordinary people have and you don’t need to be special for it. Remember that whether you see it or not there are things you enjoy, if only a little. Death is not always a fate you get to chose, so why choose it when you have a choice. Life can be horrible. I certainly agree. But there are things in life that are beautiful. I will not guarantee that everyone’s life is good. It certainly isn’t. Some people had terrible lives from beginning to end. But that does not mean you can give up trying to get something better.

An Offer · part 08
pairing: mob!bucky x reader words: 3,6k warnings: typical mafia (dark themes, language, violence, etc.), a/n: this chapter smells like a soap opera, but i couldn't help myself. i was in a silly goofy mood, please don’t hate me<3
series masterlist
series summary: When your father dies, the only thing you can do for your family and the empire he built, is to marry a powerful man.
chapter sneak peek: But you and Bucky didn't follow the other guests. You didn't know the detailed layout of the rooms in that house, and the only secluded place you knew was the toilet. You dragged Bucky there almost by force, and apparently expecting an escalation of whatever was on your mind, he allowed you to do so.
Tumblr media
“I'm sure you'll look beautiful, sweetheart,” Winnifred cooed. “I can't wait for the final result!” she added on her way to leave the room.
You spent the past few hours in Rebecca's bedroom, because that's where – aside from a large mirror, which rather every bedroom in the Barnes house was equipped with – was a vanity table; a really convenient solution when it came to doing your makeup and hair.
The upcoming ceremony didn't quite meet the criteria of typical weddings; there were only a few days to organize everything since the pre-agreement was signed. In all the chaos, there was no room to think about the choice of wedding dress or hall; you didn't have time to choose the flowers, the design of the invitations (there weren't even any invitations), the cake or the music. And you didn't particularly regret not having the opportunity to do so. It wasn't a real wedding – it didn't take place because two people who loved each other decided to get married. And since it didn't matter much, you didn't feel the need to care about any of the details.
It was different for Winnifred. She was aware of the same things as you, but that didn't stop her from beaming with excitement. You found this extremely charming; largely because of your own mother. As you left the house this morning she said, This boy will be the death of you.
Rebecca entered the bedroom, which surprised you a little. She had every right to be in a room that belonged to her, but since you had arrived at the Barnes mansion a few hours ago, Rebecca had been avoiding you.
You hesitantly put down your mascara, regretting that you had only just finished doing your eyes. Otherwise, you would have had an excuse not to confront Rebecca in any way.
“My mom is right. You will be a lovely bride,” she said, giving you a weak smile.
“Thank you.” You returned the friendly gesture, but were able to guess that it looked rather inept.
“Listen…” Rebecca sighed. “I'm sorry for the way I acted at dinner that night. I feel really horrible.”
“That's okay. You just had a bad day, I get it,” you replied. You didn't dare confess that you knew Rebecca's reasons for behaving the way she did. You feared that she would be furious to learn that her own sister had told you about this side of her life.
Rebecca seemed unsatisfied with your words. “I'm really sorry for what I said. Especially since I can see that you are not some random girl at all.”
Only after a moment did you realize that her gaze had landed on your engagement ring. Immediately, you felt a hot wave of sickening shame.
“I'm sorry, I'm not the one who should be wearing it,” you claimed, asserting what you had told Bucky earlier.
“Jamie wouldn't have given it to you if he thought it would end up in the wrong hands.” Rebecca smiled a little more confidently. “He obviously knows what he's doing.”
Yes, you've heard that before.
“Do you need help with your hair?” she proposed. “I swear I'm not going to destroy it in revenge.”
You laughed quietly. “Yes, please.” Accepting this offer had little to do with politeness or wanting to make Rebecca feel better. Indeed, you needed help.
Rebecca stood behind you, reached for a brush and began to comb your hair. She did this with extreme gentleness. “Are you nervous?”
“A bit,” you answered after a short thought, looking at your reflection. “But considering I'm marrying someone I've only known for a few weeks... That's normal, I guess.”
“You shouldn’t be. I am not trying to sell you my brother,” she remarked, raising her eyebrows. “But he will take care of you. You should just be careful what you wish for.”
You didn't show in any way that Rebecca's words intrigued you. You guessed that they had to do with Robbie's disappearance, but you chose not to ask. Rebecca was reaching out to you, being even a sweetheart, like the big sister you needed on that day. Destroying it would be a real stupid thing to do, and you weren't going to sabotage the atmosphere around your own wedding.
She did your hair, and although you weren't sure what you actually wanted, Rebecca managed to achieve a satisfying result. When it was time to shed your robe, Connie's absence began to bother you. You needed someone to point out your lace lingerie and crack a few dirty jokes about your wedding night. You weren't counting on Rebecca. Even if she had a slightly different character, the very thought of talking about it with the groom's sister was uncomfortable enough.
You fixed your gaze on the white dress spread out on the bed. Since this wedding wasn't exactly a traditional wedding, you hadn't quite understood why you couldn't have chosen a dress in any other color. And surprisingly, the person who explained to you some of the issues around this subject was Michael. Now you knew that when marrying someone like Bucky Barnes, the right symbolism had to be taken care of – purity and innocence. You had to give the impression of being untouched, waiting for your husband, apart from whom no other man existed. You had to be innocent; to do him no harm, to agree with his opinion, to submit to him. You didn't believe that anyone from the two Families – who were the only guests at this wedding, witnesses to the joining of the two clans for good – cared whether you were a good, silent virgin with no opinion of your own or not. But it was all about appearances. Though, perhaps, the elders of this community actually cared about such details?
After Rebecca had also helped you with your dress, you finally stood in front of a large mirror and looked closely at your reflection. You couldn't make up your mind how you felt about it all; before the wedding, for which you hadn't decided on the slightest thing, in the dress you and Winnifred had bought at the last minute. Staring at yourself like that, you realized that nothing really mattered much to you. You just wanted to get it over with.
Winnifred returned to the bedroom; you first saw her only in the mirror, and when you turned around, you noticed a bouquet in her hands. “I knew you would look beautiful,” she said with delight, her gaze expressing a tenderness you couldn't recall seeing in your own mother. She shook her head as if she had just remembered something. “I have something for you.” She handed you the bouquet of pink carnations and white freesias, tied with a silk ribbon in a pale shade of pink matching the color of the carnations. Somewhat caught off guard, you accepted the flowers. “Jamie just brought it.”
You took a shaky breath. “Oh…”
The ceremony, from start to finish, was to be held on Timothy's property. You didn't understand this aspect either, and Michael didn't clarify it to you, but given the significance of the white dress, you were able to draw your own conclusions – there was no greater, more important sanctity than the Barnes Family, therefore instead of any temple, there was the home of the head of the Family.
When you arrived, nothing had been clear since leaving the car. You weren't even sure if you were actually there – your body definitely, but everything else?
You and Michael stood in front of the entrance to the ballroom.
You weren't wrong about the temple analogy, and were made aware of it now as you saw more or less its interior; filled with chairs and guests sitting on them, it resembled a sanctuary of some kind – even the table at the far end of the room was an altar of sorts. Nevertheless, there was no traditional walking down the aisle; Michael led you down a corridor formed between two sides of the rows of chairs, but only because you needed his help – your veil made it difficult to see and the lengthy material of your dress to move freely.
Walking forward with the not-so-slow step you usually observed in brides, you kept your eyes on the ground. Paralyzed by some sudden fear, jitters, you were unable to focus it on anything else. All this nervousness was making you more and more distant from the reality of the situation.
Completely relying on Michael, you stopped when he stopped. Only then did you dare to lift your gaze, but the degree of transparency of the veil didn't allow you to see much. All you knew was that you stood right next to Bucky; that he had Steve and someone else at his side; that there was a man in front of you, acting not only as a priest but also as an official. At least that's what you thought, as you tried to logically interpret each element.
Normally, it should be Michael, in some way replacing your father, who should lift your veil in order to present you to your future husband, your new protector, provider. However, that right belonged exclusively to Bucky. Because Michael wasn't giving you away, he wasn't handing you over to good hands; it was Bucky who took you, if that was his will, accepted you, included you in the Family. From that moment on, your whole life depended on your husband.
But he didn't uncover your veil right away. It was as if you were to remain his sweet secret for as long as possible, protected from the gaze of others. Soon, though, he lifted the material and placed it behind your head, and he did so with such delicacy and concentration that you still didn't believe it was real.
Finally, you could look at his face, and although you could see the obvious tiredness and nervousness on it, he was still the most beautiful man you had ever met. And he was going to be yours for the rest of your life, until death do you part.
If there were actually vow words spoken – any words at all – you didn't hear them. Still numb with fear and anxiety, you stared at Bucky. He was scared too, you had no doubt about that, but instead of getting even worse, you felt... safe.
You approached the table on which the agreement rested. The priest handed the pen first to Bucky. But when Bucky leaned over the document, his hand holding the pen hung in the air. You only saw the side of his face, so couldn't tell much from it. Your forehead furrowed slightly; was he hesitating? Panicking? Had he suddenly changed his mind and was about to run away, leaving you at the altar?
Finally, however, he signed, bringing you back to breathing.
He moved the piece of paper towards you and handed the pen, without even glancing at you. You, too, leaned over the table, once again sweeping your gaze over the agreement, in effect realizing that something was wrong. It had expanded by at least one condition and some bold print.
The WIFE is obliged to provide the HUSBAND with an heir within a period of twenty-one months, i.e. the WIFE and the HUSBAND are obliged to conceive a child within twelve months from the date of the wedding.
Breach of any of the conditions will result in immediate termination of the agreement and a material penalty agreed by the parties.
So far you have felt so weak that you had the impression that you were about to faint. Now, you felt anger boiling up inside you; a sense of betrayal, of being a victim of trickery, pierced your heart painfully. You tightened your fingers on the pen with such force that it almost broke under their pressure. Despite everything, you signed the agreement, with the tip of the pen almost tearing through the paper.
There had been a lot of inconveniences in your path lately, but you couldn't recall any of them putting you in such a horrible mood. And when Bucky’s eyes met yours, you knew he saw that awful disappointment. Just as he should – he should be aware that he had hurt you. Did you expect to see guilt in response? Probably. But instead, there was anger, irritation, and somehow you knew it wasn't directed at you.
You also felt it when exchanging rings; Bucky squeezed your wrist a little too hard as he slid the wedding band onto your finger. He turned his jitters and anxiety into resentment; a phenomenon that intrigued you enough to make you forget your own for a moment.
The priest grabbed a previously prepared dagger; it had been resting on the table since the beginning, waiting for basically the most important part of the ceremony. “The act of joining two bloods.” The man took your hand carefully, turned it over and gently moved the dagger blade across your palm, leaving a bloody, not very deep line. You winced slightly, muffling a whine of discomfort. “So that two Families become one,” he added, proceeding to do the same with Bucky's hand, and he accepted it without the slightest movement; as if the blade had not even tickled him.
Thinking little of it, you reached for Bucky's wrist to draw his hand closer, then covered the inside of it with yours. As if by reflex, his fingers closed and embraced your hand gently. Maybe you were angry, but your body followed its own rules, and as Bucky made this small gesture, you felt warmth coming from where your hands touched; it spread to your chest, to the pit of your stomach.
The ceremony came to an end in as grave a mood as the whole of it. Timothy invited the guests to the garden, where a tent had been set up earlier – Winnifred's idea, as she had refused to let the feast take place in Timothy's cave. She insisted on this dose of romance, and it wasn't until after the ceremony that you realized she was right. The tent in the garden, in the middle of spring, was truly uplifting.
But you and Bucky didn't follow the other guests. You didn't know the detailed layout of the rooms in that house, and the only secluded place you knew was the toilet. You dragged Bucky there almost by force, and apparently expecting an escalation of whatever was on your mind, he allowed you to do so.
“What was that?” you asked before he managed to close the door behind you. Anger surged inside you again, and the best way to get rid of it that popped into your head was to hit Bucky with whatever you had in hand – in this case, your bouquet. “Promise me you’ll be my partner,” you quoted his words from a few days ago, and the flowers collided with his arm again. “My ally.” And again. “My wife.” And again.
“Y/N…” he sighed, patiently taking your harmless punches.
“You tricked me into continuing your bloodline!” Paying no attention to his calm tone, you didn't stop to hit him with the bouquet, which, by the way, wasn't as destroyed as it should have been.
“Y/N!” he hollered, suddenly grabbing your forearm, therefore stopping you from striking again. “Let’s talk about this. Like reasonable people.”
“So I am a person?” Your eyebrows rose. “Not a breeding stock?”
“I didn’t know!”
“How could you not know! You worked on this agreement together!”
And you were yelling at each other again, this time locked in that small space being the bathroom in Timothy's huge house. This only increased your frustration, because neither of you could escape. Besides, you couldn't escape not only physically; you were now stuck with each other.
“I didn't know. Okay?” he said much more calmly, although you felt that a gentle push would be enough to shatter all that calm again. “Timothy changed the deal behind my back. I should’ve known that he would pull something like this, he was too compliant…” He shook his head, looking away.
You thought it would be easier if you also stopped looking at him. So you concentrated on the bouquet; you pulled out the flowers that were only appropriate for throwing away. “You expected that he could pull something like this,” you began in a hushed voice, tentatively lifting your gaze to him. “And you didn’t do anything about it?”
He also looked at you, unable to hide that your words had affected him. At that moment, you regretted that they had left your lips, but on the other hand, maybe he should have heard them? After all, you were the one who was the most violated in the situation, and although you yourself once mentioned that a baby-free deal was rather impossible to achieve, you felt cheated.
“Don’t say that.” Bucky's voice sounded as quiet and weak as yours, his eyes expressing a begging; asking you not to give up on him like that, not to throw him into one bag with his uncle. “I’ll talk to him,” he added quickly. “I’ll talk to him now.” He seemed distracted, heartbroken, waiting for your approval.
On that day, he was definitely not himself. And it hit you, what you had promised him – not to make this any harder than it has to be.
“Bucky-” you spoke tenderly, touching his arm, which only a few minutes ago you had been punching. “Do it after the party, okay? I don't want to ruin it for you. The penny has dropped anyway, so…” You shrugged.
You were still angry, betrayed, disappointed. But in all this, you forgot to see that Bucky was trying; that he was carrying a little too much weight on his shoulders. It appeared that he had been tricked, too, and you were probably the only person who could – should – show him some support.
Bucky smiled sadly, his lips pressed together. You didn't know him long enough, but just as before you were able to sense that he wasn't angry at you, now you got the strong impression that there were processes going on in his head that could lead to dangerous consequences.
You joined the rest of the guests in a tent at the back of the house. They didn't notice your absence, or took it as perfectly natural – slipping away to satisfy some burning need; that maybe you couldn't wait any longer to fulfill your marital duty. You would have preferred it to be exactly that instead of new problems.
Although you didn't doubt Bucky's intentions anymore and believed that he didn't know about his uncle's ruse, there was this lingering sense of unease accompanying you all the time. Maybe it had something to do with the stress of the last few days, which had reached its zenith just today? Or would you have been able to relax at home, away from all those people?
During a seemingly endless conversation with Winnifred and Rebecca, you noticed that you had lost sight of Bucky. The last time you saw him talking to the man who had introduced himself to you earlier as Sam Wilson, but you couldn't pinpoint when exactly that was – fifteen minutes ago, but it might as well have been over an hour.
You decided to try not to panic. He was talking to someone again, this time out of your view, or holed up for a cigarette.
Somewhere outside the fence sounded the loud roar of an engine, followed by the screech of tires. A few guests stopped their ongoing conversations and listened for a moment, while the rest were not particularly concerned about the noise. You were not part of either group; anxiety suddenly grew to enormous sizes, turning your stomach inside out.
Someone touched your shoulder, and you immediately knew it wasn't him; Bucky would do it differently. You looked over and saw Michael – white as a sheet. “Can we talk?”
You excused yourself, and Michael, keeping the appearance of being completely in control, led you into the house. You didn't ask what had happened – you sensed that something bad hung in the air.
Michael brought you to Timothy's office. He, on the other hand, looked furious; he was sitting behind his desk, and there was a burning smell in the room.
“Your agreement.” He pointed to the desktop; to the charred scraps of paper resting on it and the ring – the same one you slid onto Bucky’s finger a couple hours earlier.
At first your stomach dropped. He destroyed the agreement and left. And without Bucky, without the agreement, you were ruined.
Despite the fact that you were terrified, you were not going to break down in front of Timothy. He had humiliated you enough. “Which one?” Having tilted your head to the side, you lifted your eyebrows. “There were two versions, right? Were you inspired by Rumlows with the second one?”
Your biting tone did not go unnoticed by Timothy. “You are acting very boldly for someone who will soon be left with nothing.”
Painfully aware that Timothy was right, you glanced at your secured future – burnt, useless. Not only that was burnt and useless; you and Bucky had burned all the bridges together; Bucky had first beaten Brock Rumlow, then humiliated John Walker and finally vanished into thin air himself.
But why exactly did he do it? He didn’t listen to you and talked with Timothy anyway; there had to be something his uncle had to have done; something that pushed his limits, tipped his balance. Or maybe his sweet words meant nothing and he decided to show you that marriage really wasn’t for him?
“Looks like you're back on the market.” Timothy stated. “I'm really ashamed of what my nephew did to you, darling.”
Unable to listen to Timothy any longer, or even look at him, you turned to Michael. “Can we go home?”
“Certainly,” he answered in such a gentle, almost fatherly tone that you have never heard from him before.

Yandere Alphabet Continued: Shuji Hanma (Tokyo Revengers)
Tumblr media
Letters A-M here
Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
Shuji’s punishments can be physical, mostly some less than playful roughhousing should you decide to do something he doesn’t like
He’s actually not super fond of punishments outside of the humiliation aspect of them, mostly because he kind of likes to see you crying or in some distress
Only if it’s caused by him though
Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?
Shuji’s not super interested in taking away your rights
He may prohibit you from doing certain things and limit your actions, but as for just outright being like “you no longer have the right to see your family,” or something like that, he doesn’t really have that inclination
He kinda thinks it’s fun to see how far you’re willing to push the boundary between what he will and won’t allow, even if he hasn’t made mention of what those things are explicitly
Patience: How patient are they with their darling?
I dunno if I’d call Shuji patient exactly, but I will say that he lets you slide with some things more than most
Shuji’s just not a very uptight guy, so what looks to be patience is actually nonchalance
Now, that’s not to say that he can’t get fed up
He can, and if you push him too far, he will
But he’s got a greater tolerance for any bs you might try to pull than others only because he knows that if he were in your situation, and hell, even if not, he would do the same thing
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
This may or may not come as a surprise, but it’s actually highly unlikely that you’ll die while in Shuji’s care or under his supervision, so we won’t touch on that
Just upping and leaving is not an option, unless there’s some sort of extenuating circumstance that requires you to like…ion know, leave out the country or something (and even then, Shuji loves adventure, so he may just follow you then too 🙃)
If you were to escape, Shuji would definitely hunt you down
He loves the thrill of the chase, and while after too long he may grow a bit bored, the thought of your expression and reaction when he finally catches you will keep him going for a while yet
Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
Feelings like guilt and Shuji Hanma don’t really mix in my mind 😂
Like, I don’t necessarily think he’s incapable of feeling it, he’s just not inclined to
So I’ma say no, Shuji would decidedly not feel guilty if he kidnapped you
He would also not let you go
You are his precious little doll and he loves you too much to just let you leave him
Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
Shuji’s childhood and much if not all of his backstory is an enigma
That said, it’s kinda hard to pinpoint where exactly the yandere aspect of this iteration of him came from
I would honestly say that Shuji most likely has some undiagnosed mental illness, and that his yandere tendencies stem from that
There’s also something to be said about a deeply hidden sense of loneliness and a craving for affection that permeates deep into Shuji’s being, and that he’s just suppressed all his life
When he encounters you, and begins feeling things he’s not felt before, he kinda just takes the feeling and runs with it, as he’s done with everything else he’s ever felt
Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
Not as amused as you would think, believe it or not
Shuji may act like an ass but somewhere within him lies the desire for you to love him in return
He knows being terrible and kidnapping you is probably not the best way to make that happen but he’s still figuring it out ok? Cut ‘im some slack, these are new feelings he’s dealing with
A small part of him would be amused, the normal part of him that everyone sees and knows
But a larger part of him is distressed, though he hides it well
He doesn’t want to hurt you, honest!
And he really doesn’t even want to see you cry, for the most part
So if you did behave in such a manner, it would likely cause him to internally panic
Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
I mentioned this a little earlier I think but Shuji likes to drag you around to the various fights he gets into and have you watch and cheer him on from the sidelines
That sounds weird, and it is, but hey 🤷🏾‍♀️
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
Another one who’s pretty unflappable
But, I could feasibly see Shuji growing bored of you and ceasing his pursuit of you if you just never have any reaction to anything
Which, let’s face it, will be pretty hard to do but if you’re willing to give it a try ‘cus you’re just that desperate to escape…
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
Shuji might accidentally hurt you
A lot actually 🙃
He just gets so excited and forgets his own strength sometimes
But now intentionally?
Only if you’ve absolutely pushed him to the edge
And then over it
Don’t worry though, something like this would be incredibly difficult to achieve
But trust me, you do not want to push it
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
I don’t think Shuji reveres or worships you
He’s not the type for that
He does have an appreciation for you though, and he recognizes that you are a little sliver of good in a world that’s pretty much gone to shit
He can respect that about you
As for winning you over, he’s not overly concerned with that either
He wants you to love him, sure, but you don’t have to be drooling over him 25/8 for him to be satisfied
Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
Shuji “pines” for about as long as you probably assume he would.
Which is to say, not long. 🙃
When Shuji realizes that he wants to possess you and subsequently your heart, he immediately begins making moves to do just that
Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
Shuji possesses the potential to break you intentionally and unintentionally.
He can be overbearing in the most literal sense, monopolizing, occasionally inconsiderate of your feelings as it relates to your autonomy and overall just wild and incorrigible.
He’s more likely to break you if he abducts you and is subsequently in contact with you more consistently.
He’ll more easily wear you down and whittle away at your patience and sanity if he can keep you in close proximity.
I personally don’t think he’d ever try particularly hard to break you, but the thought might enter his mind and he may be inclined to pursue the notion. 🙃
Let’s hope for your sake, he doesn’t.

AITA for trying to get revenge on the people who ruined me?
…I used to be worth something. I wasn’t perfect— far from it… I know that now, but I… I was good. Even though I wasn’t easy on the eyes. Even though most people didn’t like me. Even though I was a tad selfish. At least I had a friend. At least I tried my best to be kind.
But they took all of that away from me. And for that, I’ll never forgive them.
You see, I was Queen once— of a country that hangs in the clouds. It wasn’t always easy… like I said: a lot of people didn’t like me, but at least I was someone. I was important. I did my job, just like I was supposed to.
It all changed one day when he got me a gift… my best friend that is. He didn’t know it at the time— neither of us did, but there was something dark and evil inside of that brilliant mirror, and it soon decided to use me.
Dark forces warped me from the inside out, slowly distorting my perception of reality and even my feelings. I began to become a caricature of myself— nothing more than a selfish monster. I became paranoid, then self obsessed. I killed the rest of the royal family, terrified they’d try to take what was mine. I began to terrorize my people, and even mistreat my best friend. I stole countless bodies, making them own in a desperation to become perfect somehow, all the while the forces in the mirror watched on and SMILED.
You see, I was a pawn. The goal was…- well, I think it was something like “if we can get a queen under our thumb, then we can use that to vie for control of her world.” That was power they wanted, and they were willing to throw me under the bus to attain it.
Eventually, I was beyond saving. They distorted me so well and truly that I was practically unrecognizable. Running on only blind instinct and egomania at that point, I had the ruler of a foreign country kidnapped, senselessly tried to kill the man who was once my best friend, and then attempted to murder everyone both in my country and the foreign country.
…Needless to say, they put me down. The ruler of that country, his companion and my friend, that is.
I should be gone. But I’m not, thanks to him. That… that foolish, naive idiot! I can’t believe what he did. Still refusing to give up on me, even after everything that happened, my friend sook Death out and found a way to resurrect me, insistent I still deserved a happy ending.
Death ensured I was in my right mind again, but there was only so much it could do to mend me overall. I was and am broken. I always will be after what happened, I think.
My friend explained what happened, reassured me it was all okay now, and took me home. He said I’d be alright— that none of what happened before was my fault, and now I could finally be free.
But that’s not true. That’s not true at all.
First and foremost, my body… it’s hideous. Always shifting, at any given time it’s something between my despicable ‘true form’ and my monstrous Frankenstein’s creation. If you saw me, you’d gag. I can’t stand to look at myself. No matter how I appear, I always see someone evil staring back at me in the mirror. Someone who’s as ugly on the outside as she is on the inside. I hate her.
A few of my friend’s companions— ones far better than me, hypothesized it’s because I don’t know who I am anymore. As such, my sickening, parasitic body doesn’t either, and merely improvises in a futile attempt to capture ‘me.’
And saying I no longer know who I am is correct. I’m not just a stranger in appearance. It feels as if the girl I used to be has long since died— replaced by a callous monster. I remember it. I remember everything. I’m still touched by it, even having been ‘made right.’
I recall killing my family. I recall subjugating my people. I recall abusing my best friend, and I recall just how much JOY I felt doing it. He says that I’m not respond for any of that— that I wasn’t in my right mind, but I know that was still me. My innermost, darkest, sick and twisted desires. I’ll never be able to wash the blood from my hands.
Constantly, it feels as if I’m followed by ghosts. My skin writhes— and I swear I can feel my victims tugging at my limbs, demanding I return what isn’t mine. These hands… I don’t recognize them. I don’t recognize anything about myself. When I think about it too much, I get sick.
I’m broken. I’m ugly. I’m evil. And the people who made me that way have names and faces.
My friend… had actually met one of them. Sickeningly, they shared a mutual friend. When he learned what this person did (long before I returned), he attempted to get revenge himself, but was stopped by the group and reprimanded. He was told that the person who destroyed me— the person I’ll call ‘D,’ could still become a better person, and that he deserved as much a chance as anyone to improve.
Ahahaha. AHAHAHAHAHA.
D wasn’t the mastermind, to be clear. His king, who I’ll refer to as ‘DM’ was. DM is the person who corrupted me. DM is the one who made it so I could no longer love. But D was still an accomplice.
He watched on. He watched on, and made sure I was spiraling properly. When his master ordered it, he’d whisper suggestions in my ear.
Having come to terms with how unsalvageable I am, I decided I needed to make them pay.
D occasionally leaves his domain in the Mirror World, while DM doesn’t, so I started with the former. I ambushed him, took him down and took him hostage, hoping to draw out his master by forcing it to come save him.
But it didn’t even do that. Of course it doesn’t. I was imbecilic to believe something like that could ever care about anyone. D was just a puppet, too… it didn’t care if I disposed of him. It would just find another.
I was devastated. All my work, and I couldn’t make DM suffer. The anger overwhelmed me. Someone had to pay. I decided if it wasn’t him, then D, as his accomplice, was the next best thing.
I viciously attacked D and fully intended to torture him, but was caught in the act. My friend’s companions became aware of what I was doing and stopped me by force. They told me I’d done something evil— that D didn’t deserve that, and was trying to do better, just like I was.
In what world!? HE made me this way! He and his worthless master are the reason why I’m broken now… why I’m evil! How can it be wrong to punch back?
They’re why I’ll never be good. They’re why I’ll never be happy. They’re why I’ll never be a good friend. They’re why I’ll never be beautiful.
I’LL NEVER BE BEAUTIFUL. I’LL NEVER BE BEAUTIFUL. NEVER! NEVER EVER! THAT PERSON KEEPS SAYING I AM, BUT I KNOW HE’S LYING TO ME. HE THINKS I’M DISGUSTING. HE THINKS I’M A MONSTER. HE’S AFRAID OF ME. EVERYONE IS!
I’m worthless. I’m worthless and I’m broken and I’m SICK.
…Was it really so wrong to try and break the people responsible for that in return?

It‘s time. Going to drop some headcanons and assumptions about the Colonel here.
Grab some snackies and feel free to comment your own thoughts about him if you like. Think everyone has his/her own view on the character, would be interested to hear them. And I already noticed I missed some information because I am like a blind little mole while playing games. So if there are STILL things I just missed, that are somehow connected to stuff I came up with pls let me know. Need to absorb all the little details about the dog.
And of course there are spoilers below the line. If you don‘t likey, don‘t looky.
1. He‘s not dead
That‘s like my absolute main hc. Said it in a post before and say it again: I was disappointed How he was treated especially in the end. Guess I could live with his death, if it was written differently, but for me it was extremely unsatisfying. First of all: he‘s a high performing, experienced military machine. It‘s said his strengths primarily lie in interrogation, that he‘s a natural born leader and organizational stuff is his thing, but he‘s a skilled fighter too. If you side with Reed you have to fight him and damn. He‘s a beast.
I don‘t like that the protagonist of a story (would be V in this case) has to win all fights. There should be more enemies who are invincible and fights would be resolved differenty. It’s a general thing I would like to see more often in games, especially rpgs with strong choice making mechanics. Yes, V is a skilled fighter and Alex definitely knows how to completely delete someone too, but I don‘t know. It felt really uninspired and didn’t do justice to the character. If I had to decide for a mixture of canon for my headcanon, it would be Alex catching him off guard (like when you‘re siding with Songbird) but he‘ll survive and lands in the hospital (the same way if you don‘t kill him at the end of the boss fight).
The hc would be that he took this opportunity and staged his death. Fake news, fake corpse at the funeral, Jago and Bennett doing a little show so it’s more believable. Let Myers and the gov think he‘s gone, while he has the opportunity to plot against them without them knowing. I want him to have an epic revenge arc.
2. His scars and cyberware
Not that confident with this one yet but I need a story for it. His bonked-in forehead, the ear and the arm need to be connected somehow. Not a coincidence that all of this is happening on the left side. I like to believe it happened at the end of the Midnight Storm mission. When Arasaka came to shore and they where forced to retreat. Maybe I missed that or it‘s just not clearly stated but for me it always sounded like they got the order to get the fuck away, but literally where left to die, because Arasaka was superior to them. They got attacked, many died and he lost his left arm. The what and hows I am not sure about. Feel like he got bonked really hard by something or someone and the arm was ripped off. Could have been a grenade or something, but don’t know if there would be different type of scars then. The last survivors found shelter, Kurt decided to fuck the orders, after Myers agreed on peace and the rest is history.
Part of that hc is, that he doesn‘t like his cyberarm. He adapted to it, but to me, he seems like a „less is more guy“. He surely has a lot of implants but compared to veterans like Bennett or Rinder he‘s rather low on chrome imo. Like the casual military gear for a person with his rank, he probably had to install but nothing more.
Since he is right-handed I’d say he got the cyberware on the right this arm earlier and it’s related to better aim or another improvement regarding the use of weapons. There‘s a little tiny lettering on it saying „Yukimura“. That‘s a type of smart gun. Wild Dog and Bald Eagle are both power weapons but could be some sort smart link cyberware anyway and they used smart assault rifles in the military.
3. Family/Childhood/Military
It‘s said in his military file, that he was a gang member at young age and enlisted in the Militech Forces soon as he reached legal age. Thing is: I basically don‘t know anything about american law or army regulations. Just did a quick research on that topic and found some stuff on Reddit that it is technical possible that you could avoid a prison term, especially in juvenile law, if you instead join the armed forces. I don‘t know if there is something like this in the Cyberpunk lore too, but I think it would be very fitting. So there was gang member Kurt, doing all the illegal stuff like theft, armed robbery and probably worse. Think he than grew up in a typical broken home situation. Divorced parents or they just didn't give a shit. Something like this. Then he or one of his goons fucks up, got caught and he joins Militech instead of spending a lot of years in prison. In one of his voice lines he says smth like: some don't have another choice than joining the army. Like to think that applies to him aswell. At the beginning it was just a way out for him. He then settled in very quickly and liked the solid structures and discipline, that he probably never had before in his life. The fact, that he was really good at the things he had to learn and had to do, gave him a lot of confidence - like a military glow up. Think he really enjoyed his time in the military to a certain point. The Power and respect he gained throughout the years. But also he never lost his rebellious side, like it's said in his psychological profile.
Could be possible that he wanted to join the army by free will also. But I like the plot, that he always was kind of an rotten apple, the military made him stronger and brought up hidden qualities in him, but in the end failed to reform him. Reed said something like: that's it the govs fault, that Kurt is the man, he is now. So they failed to keep him on the rightous path.
4. His first kill
Inspired by the message you can get from Alex. She’s asking V if he could remember his first kill. That’s a pretty cool question and hc material imo. In Kurts military file it‘s stated, that shortly after he joined the military he was picked to go to the military academy. So I guess he did something he stood out for, between all the other people who joined at that time. He definitely was judged very critical in the beginning and had a hard time because of his streetkid past.
He probably could have killed some ppl back then, but I‘d rather believe that he still was in the lower ranks of the gang, considering his age, and had to do rookie-shit, instead of big jobs involving killing ppl for example. My hc is, that there was another recruit in his unit who tried to skip a lot of training by getting heavy cyberware and taking a lot of boosting stuff to quickly become the best among them and getting chosen for a higher position faster. In the end all he got was a cyberpsychosis and eventually turned on his mates during a combat training. Kurt then managed to take him out and saved the others. In the end he was the one getting the wanted attention of the superiors. Connecting to this event, I think he has a low tolerance for people who don‘t know their boundaries and can‘t handle their chrome and themselves.
5. Jago
I think he really likes Jago, maybe even more then Bennett sometimes. I like to compare these two because of the „Run this Town“ mission. Bennett surely has a bonus because he’s been in the army with Kurt and is his most trusted and loyal man, but I can imagine Kurt enjoys to work with someone without military background. He would probably call it refreshing. Don’t know just really like their dynamic. Absolute pros in what they do and profiting from each others skills. Can imagine he often just asks Jago about his opinion, if he needs one, because he has a different view on things. Other than a soldier who‘s just used to follow orders most of the time.
6. Boxing
He‘s into boxing. Doing it himself and following professional sports alike. He definitely does some kind of sports. Daily workouts or something like this too, but he‘s eager to stay in shape for sure. Like to think he has some sort of Fight Club thing running inside of Barghest. They meet up one or two times per month and are boxing against each other. There’s a scoreboard, they show off their bloody noses and black eyes the next day. That HC came from the „Balls to the Wall“ mission. Loved that vibe. And he enjoys watching professional fighters. And betting on the fights for sure. AND imagine a highclass boxing fight in the Sapphire. Inviting all the rich folks, there’s a boxing ring instead of a stage. Following that Las Vegas vibe Dogtown has.
7. Collection
Although he is quite a show-off when dealing with his customers and business partners, boasting about fancy parties, expensive champagne, his successes and income, I think that he is otherwise a pretty grounded guy. The way he still dresses like the casual military man, no chic suits or other unnecessary things. The Black Sapphire is the only really glam looking place in Dogtown. Everything else that‘s run by him is purely practical. But: I think he has some sort of guilty pleasure. Like collecting historical or rare guns and other weapons. Or a collection of high priced liquors. Or maybe he‘s interested in cars and/or motorcycles like Aymeric. Would suit him.
8. Privacy
This one is very simple and rather short but I think he really values his privacy. His quarters (according to early concept art) is in the upper levels in the Black Sapphire. A big ass office and probably all the other stuff like bedroom etc. on one floor. Can imagine that all or the most of these rooms are off limits for everyone else. Everyone needs some save space to decompress.

As it seems clear that we’re going to have to wait several months before we get new content in the manga, I am going to cope with some more speculations, so here are the
Reasons why I believe that Sigma is going to be alright:
For start, Sigma is not dead yet. He absorbed too much information from Dostoyevsky and his brain wasn’t able to handle it all, causing him to pass out/go into a coma [we see this happening briefly to Atsushi after he exchanged information with Sigma in the Sky Casino Arc]. Fyodor seemed sure that Sigma will never be able to recover from it and wake up, but if Season 5’s finale made anything clear is that Fyodor underestimates people, and while he may have hyped Sigma up as “exceptional because normal” at first, he had already decided to eliminate him because he wasn’t useful to him anymore, and doesn’t think highly of him at all. But I believe that Sigma’s determination and strenght is truly exceptional, and characters in this manga have survived waaaay more unsurvivable injuries before. Which brings me to the next point,
Asagiri doesn’t like to kill characters in the main manga (that’s saved for the light novels), and it took him more than 110 chapters to kill the first recurrent character(s) [Fyodor and Fukuchi, tho we’re not really sure about Fukuchi are we. He apparently came back as a fairy samurai with horns and lasers]. I really don’t think Asagiri would kill another character in the same arc, especially since Sigma’s death would serve literally no purpose in the narrative, and he’s not close enough to anyone else that his death could be motivational for a life-change or revenge. Other series can have “shock-value deaths” were the point is that life is unfair and the bad guys win sometimes, but that has never really been Bungou Stray Dogs’ MO. Again, that is saved for the light novels.
Sigma is the only person who knows all of Fyodor’s secrets, and if he dies those secrets are lost forever. Now of course there is a slim chance that Fyodor also is miraculously still alive, but personally I don’t think so, his arc felt complete, he accomplished some of his goals [in aiding Fukuchi], failed miserably some of the others [killing Dazai], and he truly was defeated by his own presumption and need for absolute control. And even if he were alive, he wouldn’t ever reveal all his plans, his secrets, his past. That is why we need Sigma alive to warn the ADA and give us the Fyodor-lore we are missing.
Unlike Fyodor’s, Sigma’s arc doesn’t feel complete at all. We don’t know why he was created or by who, and he clearly struggles with his identity and with the desire for a place to just belong. He also risked his life in order to repay Dazai and help the ADA, and for him to die after failing to do so [cause again, if he dies now he cannot share that information] would be completely pointless and cruel.
Related to my last point, there is another character in BSD who had to overcome his struggles with his humanity [or lack thereof], with not knowing why he was created and how, and with the desire to belong and find a family that looks after him just as much as he looks after them: Chuuya. This is only my theory, but honestly Chuuya would be the perfect person to help Sigma with this in the following story arc, he’s already there at the same location as him right now, and it would also be an excellent excuse to animate Stormbringer before they make Season Six.
Dazai promised Sigma he will get him out of there alive. Can Dazai make mistakes? Sure he can! But not that many let’s be real. At the very least he is not going to leave the prison without Sigma, unconscious or not, and that will give Sigma a chance to recover in the time it takes them all to go back to Japan.
Sigma shared a moment with Atsushi in the Sky Casino arc and it would honestly be really fitting and sweet for them to meet again. Just saying. It would be cute.
I think we are about to enter a story arc where the Reality Altering Book is even more relevant. Like, it was very relevant already, but I think the Book is responsible for whatever madness was happening at the end of Season 5? Like Fukuchi’s appearance and powers, and Akutagawa’s High Fantasy-looking clothes, it really looked like someone heavily altered reality again… A person created by the Book would be really fitting and possibly useful right now!
And last but not least, I really love Sigma and I don’t want him to be dead, and I think that’s an extremely compelling reason. It’s the most valid reason.

Scorpion X Demon! Reader Imagines
I honestly don’t know what would qualify as an imagine lmao
Tumblr media
So like… Imagine this- Quan Chi brings back Hanzo as Scorpion and convinces the revenant to work with him because he… “brought back his wife” too. But Y/N is just a demon who works for Quan Chi who pretends to be the wife and does that so Scorpion is loyal.
Then one day, after years of working together, Y/N ends up realizing she fell in love. A demon falling in love is seriously unheard of- they are the embodiment of sin after all. But Y/N ends up pitying Scorpion as a result of this. And so whenever she, Quan Chi, Scorpion, Jax, and Subzero end up attacking Johnny, Sonya, and Raiden, Y/N sort of ends up just standing back whenever Quan Chi is down. Johnny ends up being saved and the revenants are brought back to life, and once they are, Y/N simply smiles and disappears.
In life, Hanzo yearns from his “wife” who he been searching for, for years. He would speak sorrowfully about her to Raiden and others, and Y/N was a future they had never seen prior so they also believe that is his wife.
But whenever Hanzo meets with Kuai Liang, he discovered Quan Chi’s lie about who had murdered his family. “Harumi… Satoshi…” he mumbled angrly. Yet besides Quan Chi, there was his wife in revenant form. Why was she there if Scorpion wasn’t? Kuai Liang then referred to her as Y/N and explained her role in killing the Shirai Ryu.
“That’s my wife,” he argued though uncertain.
“She has been Quan Chi’s partner for centuries. She is responsible for you and your family’s death specifically.”
It was like being killed all over again. All those times she kissed him lovingly after his kills, planning their revenge against the Lin Kuei, trying to find out how to bring back “their” son Satoshi… It had all been another trick from those hellspawns. It made killing Quan Chi feel even better, but he would never feel complete until Y/N was massacred even worse.
After Shinnock is killed, Hanzo finds himself in more pain than what he was when he discovered himself died in hell. The Fire Gardens restored and his people happy, but he may never find Y/N ever again.
Of course Y/N had fallen in love with him. At first her tactics were for manipulation but eventually, each kiss she would give him becam more fulfilling and loving, and addicting. She was often called a succubus, however she never seduced him. In fact, it was almost the other way around. She became genuinely happy whenever he would save her from a monster, or seeing his face whenever she would talk about “their” son. Of course she had to obtain Harumi’s memories but it almost pained her that he wouldn’t be thinking of Y/N whenever he thought of a wife. He thought of someone who wasn’t Y/N.
She eventually got tired of leading the revenants in hell. She decided she would leave just for a moment and ended up in the Fire Gardens late at night. Of course it would seem insulting for her to leave gifts for him after all she’s done, and gifts that wouldn’t be her spewed blood or decapitated head. Rather it was roses that he collected for her one day after killing someone by a garden, and a home made cinnamon roll she made him out of no where before the tournament. She would write a letter explaining her thoughts and in the box, was the folded kimono of Harumi from the night she died. And along with that, a ripped doll that was once belonging to Satoshi when the child was alive.
Although it was insulting from his perspective, he appreciated the gifts. At least the clothes and doll. He read the letter and of course burned it, and even if Y/N was never to be forgiven, it’s not like she’d care. She’s a demon, the embodiment of hate and sin, and so she couldn’t ever care.
But she did. She felt terrible about what had happened but she will not age, which could give her millions of years to get over it in the case she doesn’t get killed by him.

The salvation of humanity
Chapter 12: Hob Gaddling, you're stupid.
Morpheus x (f)reader
Warning: alcohol
Reminder of the last chapter:
“We’ll see.” he said, taking your sleeping form in his arms.
He should leave you, staying out of your life. That would be for the best. He would end up hurting you.
“Let’s get you home, my little human.” He said, holding you close while raising from the ground and leaving.
Was he even capable of such thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10 December 2029
Eleven days had passed since Dream had found back his ruby. After what happened, he had brought you back to England, in the house he knew you loved with the fireplace, the one you two stopped on your way to Oxford. Once you were awake, the two of you had spoken.
Dream explained to you what had happened to him exactly during the last century. You had learned about Jessamy, who died helping him on the hand of Alex Burgess. The things they expected from him. The entire seven years he had spent alone, with no soul around until you came.
Your presence had comforted him, letting him feel safe as he opened up to you.
Then, he had answered your question. Who he was, his family, the Endless. You had learned about the Creator, the one above all. Dream was more than a god, that’s what you had understood, and that was a lot to take in.
The two of you went different way since he needed to return to his realm, and you, home, packing everything you needed to move North again to meet Edgar in “The new inn”.
But since then, you haven’t seen him nor heard of him. You weren’t worried much, though, he probably had many things to do. Yet, still, you had that sting in your heart, fearing you might never see him again. After all, you were just human.
Why would he care?
Meanwhile, Dream had spent the last days working on his realm, fixing everything that needed to. Finding back the resident of the Dreaming. He did have noticed his missing creation. At some point, they should come back, or he will found them.
Yet, something remain missing. He was certain that, after he would have found all his tools, he will feel good again. Now, he was just disappointed, having no idea why he felt this way when he was stronger than ever.
So, there he was, sitting on a bench, feeding pigeons until his sister, Death, joined him. They had exchanged until she asked why he was so moody. And, Dream decided to share his thought with his sister. Sharing his desire of revenge remaining unfulfilled because Paul and Roderick Burgess were dead, the thought of the mutants out there, the way he felt, empty compared to the exciting journey he had to found his tools. The way he felt more powerful than ever. A new purpose he had, a quest he had loved every minute, in this changed world.
“I was so sure that, once i got everything back, i’d feel good. But in some way, i feel worse than when i started… I feel like… Nothing” Bored, he wanted to say. Empty, like something remain missing.
“There, you asked”
His sister looked at him, smiling gently, before putting her hand on his knee.
“You could have called me, you know.” Death said.
“I didn’t want to worry you.”
“I don’t believe it” she sound bored, rolling her eyes and standing up.
“Let me tell you something Dream, and i’m only gonna say this once so, you better pay attention” She picked his bread out of his hand.
“You are utterly the stupidest, most self-centred, pathetic excuse for an anthropomorphic personification, on this, or, any other plane. Feeling sorry for yourself because your little game is over, and you haven’t got the balls to get out and find a new one. You're as bad as Desire, no, worse” She spit out, throwing the bread back in Dream chest.
Dream felt offended, especially by her last sentence. Worse than Desire? No way.
“Did it never occur to you that i would be worried about you.”
“I didn’t think…” He started, but was cut short by Death.
“Exactly, you didn’t think.”
The group of human next to them throw away the ball, which Death catches quickly, just like Dream a few minutes ago.
“Waou, you’re just as good as your friend” the man pointed out.
“He’s not my friend, he is my brother, and he’s an idiot.” She said, sending back the ball.
“I am just feeding the birds.” he answered back, looking at the ground will the human walked away.
“Is this about this human and her dog?” she finally asked.
“I don’t know who you're referring to.” Lies. How could she know about his dear human.
“Don’t play this game with me, Dream”
Dream looked at her, waiting for his big sister to kept going, knowing he didn’t have anything to say about you.
“You spend almost two weeks around her day and night after spending a century imprisoned. It’s normal that you miss adventures with her. Normal that you feel this way now that you are alone again.”
“I can’t, you know it. It’s for the best” he said, more bitter than he wanted.
He had walked out of your life for a reason, the best reason. He couldn’t miss you, the adventures with you, he mustn’t. You were just a mortal. Soon, you would be gone. Dream had learnt his lesson long ago.
But the more the days passed, the more he felt your absence pulling him down.
Death sighs, knowing he had closed himself about you. She won’t get anything out of him.
“Look, i can’t stay here all day, i’ve got work to do. You can come with me, or you can stay here and sulk.”
“I’ll come with you, i suppose”
Dream followed Death on her day. She mentioned Hob Gadling and Dream decided to pay him a visit later that day. Perhaps that’s what he would need. A friend.
Death brought him with her, taking the souls she could. Ever since the outbreak and the apocalypse happened, her job had been more difficult. No human died easily, usually, they came back as mutant. She was unable to save any of them. And, even though she had grown fund of her work, she despised this aspect of humanity. They weren’t dying any more, not in the way they should. The souls to get back were rare. The souls were trapped into their monster mind. A terrifying thought.
"Are they conscious of their state?" He asked, suddenly afraid of the answer.
"I hope not. But i can never get their souls. Only when they are killed."
Dream mentioned this mutant again, explaining how he tried to fight them with his power. Death felt sad for her little brother. He wasn’t aware of what had happened when it all started, all they had learned about these zombies.
“Dream, our power doesn’t work on them.”
Dream turned to her, confused. How could that even be possible.
“We are vulnerable to them, just like them.” she continued, referring to the human they had in front of them.
“How ?”
“We don’t know.” She said, sadly.
None of the Endless, none of the deities, knew how it happened nor why it happened. But once thing was certain for all of them.
Humanity was damned.
And for Dream, it felt like shockwave. He couldn’t believe it to be true.
During their walks, Death explained to him everything she had witnessed during his absence. Showing him faces of humanity he had never guessed possible. Saying that they were here for them and not otherwise. He learned of faces of humanity that reminded of you. It made him care about them, the same way he cared about you.
And he would try to be better for Humanity.
That’s how, Dream of the Endless found back is way to a new pub called “The New Inn”, near Oxford, in an old quarantine zone in search for Hob Gaddling, the immortal human.
The café was a warm and cosy place, people were walking around, exchanging with one another. In the back, staircase were leading to rooms, probably. Different from the white horse tavern yet delightful.
Here, it felt like nothing had happened outside. People were careless and happy.
And he caught sight of him. Hob Gaddling.
Dream walked closer to him. He could feel a familiar presence near him. But then, he was facing Hob, smiling. This one raised his eyes, catching Dream sight.
And he smiled back.
“You’re late” Hob said which caused Dream to laugh.
“It seems i owe you an apology, i’ve always heard it impolite to keep one’s friend waiting.”
Dream sat in front of him and the two friends started exchanging.
Time flew away as the two friends were catching the time missed. Dream explaining the reason of his absence and his sudden return. Hob listening to his story, heartbroken for his friend.
“If i had known, i would have found a way to help you, i am sorry.”
“You have nothing to apologize for, you had no idea, especially giving the circumstances of our last meeting.”
And Hob nodded, remembering that famous night.
“And that woman, she just randomly helped you? And helped you find back the things you were looking for?” Hob asked, referring to the woman who had freed Dream.
“She did”
“In time like this, she must be quite of a woman.” Hob commented, laughing.
“Let me be honest with you. I’ve fought in the two World War and others war, but these things outside… They are creeping the shit out of me.” Hob continued, taking a sip of his café.
“The people able to fight them like these have guts.”
Dream observed around, still feeling this familiar presence but not recognizing it as Hob presence. Then a new one. He recognized Bérangère, who had walked in and was sitting at the bar.
“So, you wait for me here, every day?” he asked Hob.
“Yes, though i must admit i was waiting for one of the traders to go out. I need her help with something.”
“And who is she?”
“I admit i do not know. I have never met her, and she's probably going to reject my demand anyway. She had better thing to do than helping me retrieve my books.”
In the upstairs of The New Inn, you were trading with Edgar. He was asking once more for one of the usual run out in the worst part of Oxford and in one of the hospital. It will be winter soon, and they needed supplies here. The dog was sitting next to you, keeping his eyes on the armed men of Edgar.
“What do i get in exchange?” You asked, taking a sip of the whiskey in front of you.
“The munition you need, and you can keep a car.” he offered.
“Good. I want one more thing.” you continued, leaning forward.
“I need an echo graph machine and vitamin.”
“What for?”
“We are missing this machine in my place.”
Last week, you had finally found everything for pregnancy testing. Turned out, Elizabeth was indeed pregnant. She would need that along many other women.
Edger leaned on his chair, thinking before moving his hand to you.
“Deal?”
You grabbed his and shook his hand back.
“Deal”
“Great, when do you need the car to leave.”
“Tomorrow morning, the weather should be better”
He nodded as you rose from your chair.
“See you soon” he said as you leave the room, going downstairs.
“Ah, there she is.” Hob said, pointing out the girl with braided hair walking down the stairs.
Dream turned, and he felt his heart missed a beat as he recognized you and the dog.
He was right when he said everything was pushing him to you.
You had walked to Bérangère, sitting next to her at the bar.
“I know her.” Dream whispered, looking at you.
“You do?” Hob said, tapping Dream shoulder.
“She is the one who freed me.” Dream murmured to Hob.
“You must introduce me to her.” Hob said, all excited.
“No” Dream could hear you laughing with your friend.
“Why not?”
“Because” was the only answer Dream gave to Hob.
Hob felt his friend more than reluctant, though he had seen the way he looked at you. Dream cared a lot.
“She is your friend” he said, trying to convinced Dream.
“I decided to never see her again” Dream whispered to Hob.
“Why is that?”
“She is just human, mortal one.” Dream said, hiding the real reason.
And Hob could feel he was hiding it.
“I’ll do it myself then.” Hob said, standing up and walking in your direction.
Dream tried to hide the best he could until he felt something touching his legs. His eyes went to the floor and he saw the dog.
“Hello you” he said, patting his head. The dog put his paw on his knee, waiting for something.
Yes, everything was pushing him to you.
Dream heard his friend.
“Hello ladies.” he said to them.
“Hello stranger” you said, observing the man in front of you, your glass of whiskey in your hand.
“I believe you know my friend over here” he said, pointing out Dream who were trying to hide even more. Hob had sold him.
You followed the place he was showing and you saw him. Dream. Your heart skipped a beat.
“I believe i do.”
Dream decided to stood up and joined Hob. The dog following him close.
“Hey Dream, long time no see” you said, a soft smile taking your face. You felt Bérangère kicking your arm, a mischievous grin on her face.
Dream, again, you still called him Dream, he thought.
He would have love to felt nothing as he was standing here. But he didn’t. Actually, the emptiness he had felt for the past days had gone.
That couldn’t happen.
Just one last time, he heard himself think, hearing his heart begging. One last time and he would leave forever. Even when he would come back here, it would be in a hundred years to meet Hob, you would be dead and gone. And if he ever had to come to earth once more, it wouldn't be near you, it was unlikely. One last adventure.
“Good to see you” he said, locking his gaze on yours.
“So, your name his Dream?” Hob cut the moment, finally aware of Dream name.
“No, it’s Morpheus” corrected Bérangère and Hob stared at you confused.
“It’s a private joke” Dream said, remembering the exact word you had told to Graham. And he smiled at you, a wide genuine smiled which you returned to him.
The evening went fine. Hob, Bérangère, Dream and you were sat at a table speaking of everything yet nothing, cracking jokes and pun. Dream was silent most of the time, sitting in front of you, facing you, catching your gaze from time to time.
“Can we have others?” Hob shoot to the barman out loud, and you shush him, pushing his hand.
“For Christ’s sake, be polite” You laughed at the man before Bérangère stood up from your side.
“Where are you going?” you asked as she moved away.
“It’s work time” She said, clapping her hand together.
“Might i say, thank you for this evening, with all this fun, i might have forgotten we actually were in the middle of the apocalypse.” She continued, bowing dramatically.
“Yeah, like we could forget that.” You said, waving at her. The dog was sitting between your legs, shifting suddenly to stand by Dream side, his head asking for cuddle.
“Traitor” You whispered to him, taking a sip of your drink.
Hob talked to you about his old flat, full of books and belonging, asking for your help to find them back. It was on your way, and you were pretty sure the car you will get tomorrow morning could be used for this task too.
Dream was silently listening to the two of you when he knocked on his napkin. He bent under the table to take it back and, while he raised back, his head knocks on something soft.  His eyes drifted to fall on your hand, covering the corner of the table, realizing he knocked his head on your hand, instead of the corner of the table.
His heartfelt heavy on your action, of you taking care of him, making sure he didn’t get hurt. Without noticing, his gaze had stayed locked on you, observing every feature of your face. You felt his eyes on you for a while before turning to him and smiling.
“Are you good?” You whispered to him, losing the thread of the conversation with Hob for a second.
“Yes” He nodded, offering you small smile.
He should have thanked you, why couldn’t he say that. And honestly, he waited for you to say something about it. But he looked at you as you just smiled at him, turning back to Hob, returning to your previous conversation. The dog licked his hand, growling slowly.
“Yes boy.” he murmured to him, petting his head.
A gesture that made you smile even more as you saw it from the corner of your eyes.
It was getting dark outside, more people were inside the bar, and the place felt crowded. Dream felt uncomfortable, overwhelmed. Something that didn’t escape you.
“Hob, don’t you have a place nearby? Somewhere less crowded?” You asked him.
“Yeah, we could go to my flat. Are you coming, Morpheus?” He turned to his friend, hoping he would say yes.
Dream nodded, as the two of you were, soon, following Hob to his place. You had arrived quickly, and, as soon as Hob opened the door to his flat, you were amazed by all the books he had, adorning the walls and some organized in pile on the floor.
“Are these all yours?” you asked.
“Yeah, i was a historian teacher before… All of this. I took what i could but, i am missing my masterpiece. "
Your hands roamed over the pile of books as Dream entered the place, scanning it.
“You can take one.” Hob said, cleaning his place, not expecting visitors.
“So cool. By the way, what you wanted to ask me?” Taking the books about World War I.
“It’s about books.”
“Oh, i am in.”
You landed on the couch, sitting roughly before moving again, letting some place for Dream. Hob sat in his armchair, taking a bottle from behind the table.
“I like you Hob Gaddling.” you whispered, making the man crack a smile.
Your eyes fell on the chessboard next to him.
“Do you play?” He asked.
“Yes, love it, i am a monster at this.”
Hob took the chessboard, smiling at Dream.
“I am glad Morpheus took the initiative to introduce us.” Hob said, teasing Dream.
“I am too.” you said, laughing at the situation.
The dog came to sit between your legs as Hob put the pawn on the chessboard, letting you through the book you had borrowed, Dream reading over your shoulder. The place was warmer than the café, and he felt more comfortable as he felt your presence, happy to be around you.
“I propose something.” Hob said.
You lean forward, brushing Dream leg with your arm in the way.
“We play, each time someone loses is pawn hat to take the drink.”
“Good for me.” You said, putting the book at your side, opening the party with a simple move.
Hob were sure to win, he had years and century of experience in the area. But you were good, too good, and he noticed how Dream leaned next to you every time you seemed to take too long.
“Stop giving advice, it isn’t fair.” He complained after you took his horse.
“Why?” he asked, a smile adorning his face.
“Because you’re…” He almost let the information slipped because of the alcohol, stopping in his track as he looked at you.
“It’s fine, she knows.” Dream said, leaning back in the couch.
“She does?”
“Yes, i do” And Hob sights.
“I am your friend for what, like the past 5 hundred years and i just learn who you are. She knows you like, what? A month?” Hob continued, putting his hand over his heart, acting hurt.
“You know what i called that?” You said, acting like you were thinking.
"Oh yeah, i called that favouritism.” You whispered to Dream, and he gave you a small smile in return taking his king.
“You would’ve loose anyway.” Dream commented, looking at the chessboard.
“Yeah, i am too good at this.” Which earned you a grimace from Hob who lean back in his chair.
“I don’t want to play any more.”
The evening passed, rather quickly. You and Hob get along very well, and he even had proposed to come along with you in the mission.
“Y/N, how old were you when it happens?” Hob asked at some point of the night.
“Sixteen. I was in school when it happened, my school got invaded.”
“That must have been horrific.”
“Yeah” You whispered, toying with the dog hairs.
Dream remembered that nightmare you had, one when you were in school, running from the mutant. Killing one.
“I am gonna go to bed, you are free to stay here, obviously.” Hob said, raising from the couch.
“Do you have a cigarette, something like that?” you asked.
He threw you a pack of them, saying to keep it, leaving just Dream and you together. You walked outside, the cold air of the night making you shivers. Dream joined you, looking as you light up the cigarette, putting it between your lips.
“Who was the girl.” He asked.
You didn’t need to look too far to understand what he meant. If he was the god of dreams and nightmare, maybe he had seen yours too.
“She was my best friend, she got bit.”
Dream nodded.
“I saw that nightmare.” he confessed.
“I know, guessed it”
The silence lingered as you remembered that day.
“It didn’t happen, what you saw in that dream.” You confessed to him.
Dream turned to you, waiting for you to open up, not invading your space.
“I didn’t kill her. I couldn’t.”
You turned to the dog, watching him asleep on the carpet, next to the fire place.
“If it weren’t for Oscar, i would’ve died that day. He saved me, getting me out and the others out of the fucking school. She is probably still running around because of me.”
“You shouldn’t feel guilty, you were just a kid.” Dream tried to comfort you, his hands resting on your forearm.
“I know.”
If you had died that day, no one would have saved him.
Another sign of destiny, perhaps.
The morning came quickly, as you packed your stuff in the car, Hob joined you and, to your surprised, Dream too. It made you happy. The dog jumped in the car next to you as you pat his head before he crawled next to Dream.
“Let’s fight some zombies.”

Hey i have a question and you're the only person that will probably be able to do this, so in the first timeline Hanzo decides to protect Kuai to atone for Bi-Han's murder but like, why? Bi-Han had killed Hanzo, Hanzo kill Bi-Han as revenge...
I really can't see why Hanzo would do that to Kuai, did Hanzo felt guilty after he meet the younger subzero? I really wanna make senses of this but i can't
I'm not super familiar with the first timeline, so apologies in advance for any errors I make.
But, as far as I understand:
Hanzo wasn't looking to avenge his own death, but the massacre of his clan, which he didn't find out had happened until after his death and resurrection. Both of which he blamed and murdered Bi-Han for but it turned out that Quan Chi was responsible for that instead.
As a result, Hanzo felt incredibly ashamed of taking the only family Kuai Liang had left away from him. He also is caught off guard by Kuai Liang showing mercy to one of his opponents, something he'd never seen a Lin Kuei do before, and views him as an honorable warrior worthy of his respect.
Honestly, (and this is just a personal opinion so it might be very wrong bc again, idk much about this timeline) I don't think Hanzo much cared that Bi-han had killed him back in mythologies, bc that was in standard kombat. They were both trying to kill each other and Bi-Han just happened to be the one who came out on top, so Hanzo didn't really hold. agrudge (he didn't like it, but he wasn't overcome with rage) what bothered him was the death of his family and clan
Then, Quan Chi tricks him again later by saying that Kuai Liang killed his wife and child during the massacre and Hanzo very nearly does until he trips up and Hanzo finds out the truth, trapping them both in the Netherrealm and torturing Quan Chi until Quan Chi manages to get free
Then, Hanzo almost dies and meets the elder gods, making a deal with them to return his clan to life in exchange for him acting as their champion which they do hold up their end of that deal............except they bring the Shirai Ryu backas basically zombies and not really ppl which is a dick move so he sides with Taven and Daegon and ends up getting killed by Sub-Zero
So, while he does make a vow to protect Kuai Liang out of guilt and the understanding that he had killed the wrong man, that vow doesn't actually last very long before getting ignored in favor of Hanzo seeking out his revenge against Quan Chi and later the elder gods.
Side note, Hanzo and Kuai Liang facing off in Armageddon would make for an Excellent subscorp fic full of angst and a possible reincarnation plotline (like when they meet in the new timeline they start to remember one another from the old one) and now I need to add that to my prompts list too
hopefully that answers your question and if there is anything I have gotten wrong, please let me know!

some people have made family members and/or lovers for Lamb prior to the massive hunt of their species. And so Did I. but I decided to be extra terrible about it. I'm sorry. It gets bad.
VERY BIG content warning about: death/child death and blood. also has some info on my lamb's backstory & aftermath (AU?)
Spoilers for Wails of the Flock for whenever i deign to finish it.
Tumblr media
Lamb had a child with their first lover at 19, only for this ram to die shortly after the child's birth using himself as bait so Nike could run away. For reference, Nike became a cult leader at 21 y/o. They're just very small and look younger than they are.
The birth was risky, so an ewe who had medical knowledge used menticide mushrooms as anesthesics and painkillers to perform a caesarean section and paste from camellias and medicinal herbs to prevent infection.
But this child wasn't spared from the hunt and died a day before Nike did.
Tumblr media
and Nike was forced to watch, only to find out they were next. Though it's not like they tried to fight back since the death of their only child was their breaking point: there was nothing worth fighting for anymore, and they'd lost everyone they could lose. They were alone, and simply accepted that this was their fate.
-- Until the prophecy became true and Narinder came along. A chance for revenge and redemption were the reason they accepted forming a cult. The cult was their new flock, their new family, even when this 'family' saw them more as a prophet or messiah rather than another member of theirs.
Lamb grew eternally grateful toward Narinder for this chance and was the reason they decided to spare him in the end, despite being rightfully mad at him for trying to sacrifice them after all they did.
About the bishops, well.... they weren't spared, obviously. But Shamura unknowingly tugged at the Lamb's heartstrings by showing remorse and guilt of what happened with Narinder, and showing to truly care about their now dead siblings. This didn't spare them from a sure-fire death sentence either, but it did make Lamb think for a long, long time.
Nike only made peace with the death of their child and family years after becoming a god. After Narinder confessed to them regretting what he made Lamb do and missing his siblings, Nike decided to bring the bishops back by tampering with their lost souls in their temples and using the powers of their respective crowns, with a bit of help from the Red Crown. (yes, i'll explain this later in another post)
They still decided to never try having a child of their own again by natural means. Though, after the Blood Ritual was performed with the help of Narinder, they still named one of the lambs born from it. They felt the most connection with Astarte. Still, in the end, they also had to leave this child behind in the hands of their cult as their body began rotting away, unable to keep itself together.
Maybe in another life they will be able to fulfill their wish of having a happy family.
-----------------------------------
Yeah so uh, if you read this far, i'm sorry- HAHAHA If i'm fully honest I did hesitate on this idea. But then I remembered i HAVE A WARNING IN MY PINNED for a reason.
I love drama. I feed on tears. mostly my own tbh. But I also wanted to somewhat explain? I guess? why some things happened the way they did with *my* Lamb, and draw some parallels here and there. And also to give you guys an idea of what to expect in my stories because i make shit painful for my own enjoyment AND suffering. I'm so sorry nike, but my comfort characters tend to get the lower end of the stick xd.
I'll slap things like these in a "cotl pre-canon" tag to keep track of them, the aftermath "AU" works as a post-canon, so i may have to edit that tag sooner or later
that's it bye

There is this conversation Aisha has with Sophia in 29.5 that I'm kinda obsessed with since a lot of it is about Alec and was curious if you also had thoughts. This bit especially I like:
"Not a guy that’s in touch with his emotions. Way I always saw it, they’re there, he’s just oblivious to it all. Had to be. So it’s only after he’s through with you that he realizes maybe he was a little hard on you, maybe he twisted the knife harder than he usually would, because it bugged him. There you are with a family, and he can feel your emotions, and he totally knows you don’t even realize it in the slightest. He’s blind to his own emotions and you’re blind to the emotions of others"
oh you bet i have thoughts. i sure do have Thoughts.
i did mention this convo in the recent 2.4k word post breaking down The Alec Trauma & why we should all be soooo nicey to him but BOY is there more i could say about it beyond that. this scene serves to recontextualize much of alec's character, so it's most useful for analysis in how it can be applied to reinterpretations of his prior actions. specifically the shit he does in his interlude, so i've been holding back the vague tidal wave sloshing around in my brain abt it until i get to my inevitable longass post analyzing said interlude.
the thing abt alec's interlude is that you do not actually have to hear this from aisha to pick up on the fact that he's being a very unreliable narrator about himself within it. he's rlly like. Yeah no I totally don't care. I'm calm. I'm chill. I'm normal and unaffected. I'm not feeling anything about anything. I'm good. [said while getting ridiculous amounts of revenge on someone who abused taylor while remembering his dad abusing him the whole time]
gonna uh. cut myself off there before i blink and this is 1k words long. but the gist of the 29.5 convo is that it outright confirms what's already kinda obvious: alec isn't half as detached as he thinks he is! he can and does feel upset, angry, happy, jealous, etc, but he's been repressing any & all emotional expression for so long that he doesn't notice what he's feeling & only barely outwardly indicates it via his actions. and that's because he had to be oblivious, like imp says--if he had felt the full brunt of the emotions heartbreaker's abuse elicited in him, or if he had shown any of those emotions outwardly, he wouldn't have survived. he was only really just starting to gain a little bit more self-awareness right around the time he died, and that slight bit of emotional literacy was what motivated him to take the action that killed him.
really deeply sad character honestly. jealous and upset that someone else gets to have a family who loves them and doesn't notice or appreciate it, and he doesn't even realize he's jealous and upset. always taking actions w/o ever understanding what emotions of his are motivating them. and the one time he learns enough to realize that he does care about something, that he does care about the only real connection he's ever had, he cares about it so deeply that he decides to die for it. Man.

Depressing Risotto things (tw: abuse, suicide attempt/suicidal thoughts, self-harm)
Risotto’s mom died in childbirth which (along with his strange eyes that his extremely religious family considered demonic) caused his family to neglect and abuse him, constantly blaming him for his mother’s death and constantly making remarks about how they wished he was the one that dies instead.
Being with his cousin (my hc = cousin is 13 years older and took care of Risotto a lot) was his only refuge. In his mind, his cousin hung the moon and stars.
This made his cousin's death all the more life-shattering and devastating to Risotto.
His family blamed the death on Risotto and he deeply internalized the guilt.
He was already cutting before but his cousin's death made it significantly worse.
He attempted suicide but failed. Incidentally, the drunk driver’s trial came to a conclusion on that day and furious at the light sentence, he decides he can’t die before getting revenge.
After killing the man, Risotto planned on killing himself, but Gelato found him and saw potential and convinced him to join Passione (which Risotto agreed to because Gelato wasn’t scared of him unlike everyone else growing up).
When he worked his way up to the Assassination Team, the group consisted of Prosciutto, Formaggio, and Gelato and Sorbet and was disjointed. He was incredibly quiet and reclusive and believed Pros and Maggio despised him (which was fair enough in his eyes because he hated himself too) but eventually things cleared up and he stepped up to the position of leader. Gelato and Sorbet supported him from the beginning and Risotto felt for the first time that someone other than his cousin cared about him.
Though he’s much less isolated than in childhood, Risotto continued to suffer from depression and regularly cut, especially if one of his team members got injured. No matter the circumstances he felt like it was his fault.
He doesn’t care in the slightest about being mistreated by the higher ups but he refuses to allow that for his team who he considers family.
Makes sure that the team always gets paid before him.
Keeps his feelings bottled. Feels like he doesn’t deserve to talk about them because he believes that the other Squadra members have been through worse and because he doesn’t think he deserves good things anyways. (Yes, I know suffering isn’t a contest but it doesn’t stop the thoughts from popping up ok just let me project )
Risotto was devastated when Gelato and Sorbet died and frequently contemplated ending it all but felt responsible for his team.
When his team began losing more and more members trying to kidnap Trish, his mental state got worse and worse until the only thing on his mind and keeping him alive was the desire for revenge.
Since stands often reflect their user, when Risotto’s distress gets higher, so does the volume at which Metallic cry “load”. At its worse, Risotto can’t hear anything else other than his stand’s cry

I am recently obsessed with the Scream franchise, and I'm going to make a crossover about it with every fandom I'm in. Anyways, scream x shazam! (2019/ 2023 one... I never read the comics.
Okay, so we know how, there are 2 killers in Scream right? (Well except for Scream 3 and Scream 6...) So yeah... what if the Ghostface duo is Billy and Anthea... Both Billy and Anthea usually don't use their powers to kill their victims, unless they actually need it... Their opening kill would be Marilyn Batson (Billy's mother...) and they will also be targeting her boyfriend too... At first, they plan to kill Brett and Burke (The two bullies) but they decided to make them the suspects... Billy would go to kill some of his past foster families, and Anthea helps him... While Anthea, the main target for her is the wizard... but she also went to kill a few other people as an act of revenge for destroying her realm (Which is very off from her in the movies, but who cares.)
Now Billy and Anthea start to target the Shazamily, yk... Freddy, Eugene, Mary, Darla, and Pedro... Billy faked his death which the other finds out... but they make Billy's 'corpse' gone. So the wizard came because Billy is dead, and Anthea took that chance to take their powers... and the others trust Anthea... so, they didn't suspect a thing.... so, they went with their plan to frame Brett and Burke... So then... Freddy was alone in the house, the others have their plans outside... He was attacked but thankfully not killed... But there are some members of the family that died, which are Rosa, Victor, and Eugene... Then later on, they are also able to kill the wizard... of course, they planted some fake evidence that Brett and Burke are guilty, at first, Freddy didn't believe it but slowly, he starts to get tricked... A few weeks later.... that was when Eugene died... they made a funeral, and let a few visitors stay at their house for comfort... Brett and Burke didn't leave yet... probably too tick him off, but as Freddy suspected them... He made a plan with the others, so they could catch them but then they find Rosa and Victor, dead. They were furious...
They went to find Brett and Burke, only to find them, dead only for Mary to receive a phone call and that's when Anthea starts attacking with her mask on.... they ran and ran... thankfully... they managed to survive... They were at the hospital for 2 weeks... when they got home, they have protection with them... the polices... Billy and Anthea realize that this is the time to use their powers... they killed all the polices while trying to avoid being too loud... Then Mary was attacked first, she was alive but unconscious... The wizard came inside... Freddy, Pedro, and Darla tried to find weapons, but they didn't find anything... Then when Freddy receives a phone call, Anthea with her Ghostface costume surprise attack Pedro, and he went unconscious, Freddy threw a vase at her and she feels a bit of pain. Then Billy with his Ghostface costume, came behind Freddy and Darla, bringing a gun. Anthea also took out a gun with her and she stabs the wizard and shot him a couple of times... Freddy commands them to show themself since they were gonna die, anyways.... Billy replied by saying with his voice changed, "Of course... anything for my family..." He took off his mask, and Anthea did the same thing. Billy grabbed Freddy stabs him a couple of times before, putting a gun over Freddy's head. Freddy and Darla felt betrayed... Anthea was starting to go and stab Darla too, but she was stopped by the justice league... there was a big fight, and Billy and Anthea were using her powers, but the justice league ended up winning... the remaining family survived but they have no powers left and had to be separated because Rosa and Victor died... after that, they have a hard time trusting someone.
Billy Batson.
Motive: He was upset when he finds out his mother, who abandoned him, and adopted another kid. And was sick of being rejected by people... he was even rejected by the town when all he tried to do was help them... so he decided to take revenge and starts to enjoy committing murder.
Kills: 12 kills (Rosa, Eugene, Marilyn, Marilyn's boyfriend, Brett, three polices, and 2 foster parents)
Anthea
Motive: To get revenge on the wizard, that took her father's powers... and to the people, for destroying her realm... She killed Kalypso because she wanted to take revenge herself (Unlike the movies)
Kills: 13 kills (Victor, Burke, The wizard, Three police, and a group with 7 people in it, the whole group is doing drugs and destroy the earth)
(This is not based on canon. I'm aware that the character wouldn't actually do this.. I was just bored, and I have been obsessing with Scream lately)

Throne of Glass bad things I guess. This is a list of bad things that happened to Aelin starting when she was 8 to 18. This contains extreme spoilers so yeah.
Aelin 1. When she was 8 her parents, family, and everyone she carried about died. Then Marion made a sacrifice for her, which might have been what she carried with her most because she felt like it was a pointless sacrifice, she almost didn’t get away. Aelin’s biggest weakness is arguably her loyalty to her friends, she would do anything for them do anything to keep them safe. One reason I believe this is because of is Marion’s sacrifice. She doesn’t want anyone else to make these sacrifices for her. She only barely got away because of the wyrdkey around her neck and Elena. Then of course Arobynn found her and took her in. Because someone wants to kill her, (she doesn’t know who at that point) and because she is the princess to be queen of Terrasen, Arobynn gives her the name Celaena Sardothein, and raises her as an assassin. This it’s self is another thing on the list, because she wished to become a healer.
2. Her training with Arobynn was nothing outside of torture, with Arobynn’s brutal methods one was to get her able to use a weapon easily with either hand, he had her break her own wrist. All of this led her to become the best assassin ever, (Adarlan’s Assassin) though she still vowed never to kill anyone from Terrasen. This went on for ten years.
3. just before she turned 17 She went on a mission to skulls bay, where she found out about Arobynn’s business in slave trades. Of course, Aelin being Aelin, she released the slaves and when she came back to the Assassin’s keep, Arobynn beat her and sent her packing to the Silent Assassins. And then of course when she got back (she turned 18 over the time) Arobynn pulled another lie on her and got her an avocation to kill this ‘slave dealer’ who turned out to actually be someone trying to save slaves. Aelin was crushed with this news, it was easily enough to convince her to use the money she’d gotten from the mute master to free herself from Arobynn. This brings up another thing he did, paying for her to have the best training, the best clothes, food, whatever she wanted, then turned around and said that she had to pay him back for all of this, and until then, she was bound to him. He also did this to Sam, his second favorite young assassin. (Aelin had to sell her horse to get the money to free him of his dept)
4. Sam died. Aelin and Sam now away from the Assassin’s keep couldn’t find and contracts, until they agreed to go after one of the most dangerous people in Adarlan, Rourke Farran. Sam walked right into a trap and was tortured and killed by Farran. This broke Aelin. The first person she had found since the downfall of Terrasen that she actually loved died, was killed, she failed him. She could barely move when she found out, then deciding to inflict her revenge on Rourke she jumped into Arobynn’s trap, and was sent to Endovier, where she worked as a slave.
5. Endovier, is a torture camp set up by the king of adarlan. Aelin was tortured there for a year, only trying to break free once, on the anniversary of her parents death. All of these events in Aelin’s life take place before the events of Throne of Glass, another thing to notice is I basically did a run through of Aelin’s life up to Endovier starting at Terrasens diminish. Yeah, Aelin doesn’t have the best life. But these events are what shape her as a character, they outline her loyalty and felt responsibility to her friends, and show what she had to go through. Another thing she carried is the ten years she was with the assassins, she wasn’t doing anything for Terrasen. She was the rightful queen of Terrasen, and felt like for those years she abandoned it, while others fought for it.
if you read to the end I’m surprised but thanks!!! This is my show of how I can’t seriously discuss things, I’m considering doing more of these with the other characters and finish going through the rest of the bad things in Aelin’s life. If you think I should please tell me that in the comments!!

HTLJ S1E1 "The Wrong Path"
The great HTLJ/XWP/YH (re)watch continues!
Finally starting the show proper!
We kick off with a scene in a pub where Hercules and Iolaus are helping the staff (and patrons?) who are being held/strung up.
I don't actually like fight scenes all that much so it felt kinda long, but I LOVED our boys in it, so that helped. I was so excited to see Iolaus in the episode right away, kicking ass, no less!
Tumblr media
The way he shook off after the fight ended - why is he so cute??
"Feeling stiff." "Work out kinks." Am I reading innuendo into everything? Maybe.
Hercules goes home and witnesses Hera nuke his family. The way the family died was so cheap!! (My notes, literally: "I’m sorry, what…?")
We didn’t even get to see Dei’s face (I assume not the actress from the movies), and we didn’t see the kids at all! Just a (decent looking) fireball and they're just "gone". After them being in the movies I felt a bit robbed emotionally of a heartfelt death for Dei (and the kids).
I thought this could be a weird way to open the TV show since people might start at S1E1 without watching the movies. Later, they do put in some "flashbacks" of the movies to give the audience a sense of Hercules's family at least. So that's good.
I thought Hercules's reaction to it all was a little off? It felt very much like the scene was being "acted" if you know what I mean... It wasn't hard to forget I was watching an actor try to portray that he was rather upset that he'd just watched his family get killed in front of his eyes, rather than, like, believable anguish. That's okay. Hercules does better when he's not being rageful anyway. Unfortunately that's very much this episode, and I can't blame the character for it given what just happened.
I was surprised to see clips from the movies in the opening credits! Does that mean they hadn't filmed the whole first season yet when they made the opening sequence, or did they just like those shots so much...?
Iolaus comes to fetch Hercules to get to work, and Hercules has to deliver the news that Dei and the kids are dead. Iolaus is understandably upset, grieving them alongside Hercules. He asks about Zeus, but Hercules says his father won't show his face.
Oh and now we don’t see Zeus anymore? Hm. I remember being surprised we saw Zeus in the movies because I didn't think he showed up in the TV shows, so perhaps I was right!
Anyway then Iolaus suggests they "wage a war against Hera" in revenge. (My notes: "Awwww Ioley standing up for Hercules and shit-talking the gods. I love him.") Hercules agrees with the premise, but insists that Iolaus stay behind. Iolaus is all "You're my friend" and Hercules is all "And you're mine" and I just want Hercules to let him come along because I love them together.
Also I got lost starting at Iolaus and noticing his cool vest with the embroidered patches. I just like the way it looks!
Tumblr media
Then Hercules decides to burn down his house and everything in it. I was a little confused why he decided that was the best course of action. Symbolic of a new beginning I guess? Is he gonna be a nomad now? (I guess that was always my impression of the show before watching the movies, so probably.)
While he's getting this ready, some guy (Lycus of Ister?) comes to ask for help and Herc shoos him away because he can't just help everyone who crosses his path. (Why not? But okay.)
We get this amazing scene where the guy goes to the pub to bitch about this and Iolaus stands up for Hercules and shit-talks Hera some more. And Zeus, too. He tells everyone that Hercules deserves their respect and sympathy. Love him.
Then Iolaus consoles the man that it WAS a good decision to go to Hercules for help, because normally he would have helped, and instead volunteers to help Lycus in Hercules's place.
Does Iolaus not still have a child?? I know Anya died in the movies, but he had a kid. That was like, a recurring thing that got mentioned in the last movie! Anyway...
While Iolaus is travelling with Lycus, Herc goes to visit his mother. Is this the same actress for Alcemene as the movies? My mental image is always Alcemene from Young Hercules so I don't remember what the movie one looked like. She reveals that Zeus told her about Dei and the kids.
Tumblr media
Alcmene says "There is plenty of time for anger, but your grief has to come first"... Anger is often a part of the grief process, so that was a little confusing to me. What do I know, I just work at a Hospice.
Alcmene explains that the whole thing was Hera's reaction to Zeus being with some other woman... then very helpfully tells Hercules that Hera will destroy everyone that Hercules loves, all his friends and family, to keep him as miserable as possible, forever. (Thanks, mom.) Hercules wonders if his mom is safe and she thinks she is???
Herc says of Zeus, “He lets everyone down sooner or later.” Oof.
Honestly I still don't understand why Hera is taking out all her gripes with Zeus on Hercules, and I totally get why Hercules is done with Zeus's shit.
Hercules announces that to pay back Hera, he's gonna go destroy her 7 temples. At first I was confused because we see (what I guess were more like, shrines? Altars?) to Hera in all sorts of places, so how could there only be 7, and how could he be sure? But eventually we do see one of the temples he's talking about and it's like a big ass building, so I guess there's a difference there. 7 big temples.
I am so curious if this is like a season 1 quest or if it takes the whole series to complete, or if he like gives up to focus on other things, or what...? I guess we'll see!
Tumblr media
I feel so bad for Herc. He’s in a bad place and clearly just doesn’t care about anything right now other than this revenge plan. He really seems broken. I miss happy Herc from the movies. 😭
We cut back to Iolaus who has mostly made it to Ister with Lycas. They stumble upon someone getting turned to stone by the she-demon that Lycus came for help about.
Hercules enters the temple to find there's a woman tied up and of course he saves her while fighting everyone and destroying the temple. Her name is Aegina. I liked her.
Tumblr media
Aegina finds out about Hercules's plan, and tells him not to let what happened turn him into something he's not. We get a nice little selection of flashbacks of Dei talking about how much she loved that he always helped people, and people asking him for help. We see Hercules soften, and I got happy. I thought that was pretty well done.
We cut back to Iolaus in Ister, about to enter the she-demon's lair and when Lycus questions how he'll resist the demon, Iolaus says: “I’ve resisted many women in my time. It’s a special power that I have.” SIR???
He goes in and isn't seduced by the she-demon, but does lose the fight and get turned to stone. This immediately let me know that everyone who was turned to stone would turn back by the end of the episode because Iolaus has plot armour I'm pretty sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hercules gets to Ister and finds out that Iolaus is dead, gives some guff to Lycus for wanting to leave town to escape being turned to stone, and then when Hercules announces that he's gonna put a stop to the she-demon, Lycus asks "How do you know you can?"
Hercules replies, “I’m undefeated.” Except for your dead family I guess but- (No, I know what he means, like, in a fight, but still. This felt a little cocky, but also a return of the Hercules I like, so I won't harp on it much lmao.)
Tumblr media
He goes in to confront the she-demon and she tries to seduce him.
In my notes I had just the sentence "Speciesist." but couldn't recall why until I skimmed through again. There's a part where she asks "don't you like being loved, too?" and Hercules replies "Not by someone with scales on her rear end". Hahaha. 🤣
They fight, and Hercules doesn't have a weapon, so he tricks the demon into tying her tail around part of the cave. I noted that if he had brought a sword in, he could have sliced the tail off already. But in the end he gets her to sting herself with her tail, and dies - and, importantly, all the men who were turned to stone come back to life.
On the journey back, Iolaus reveals to Hercules that he saw Dei and the kids in the afterlife while he was turned to stone. I thought it was really sweet, since Hercules has been to the Underworld and we know that it can be nice. Herc asks if they're okay and Iolaus confirms that they're fine, they just miss Hercules. But they don't want him to die - they "know how much good [he has] left to do".
But also, like.... CAN HERCULES DIE? Did we ever get a straight answer on if Hercules is mortal or immortal?? If he's immortal then, like... he can never see his family again. That's sad!
And then he leaves Iolaus to go on his adventure by himself! So begins his nomad life (sans our boy for now)!
Overall, a decent episode! 😃

alright lore time about my 4 stone grumpus leader. PLUS SOME ART WOOOO, ill probably do some actually decent art soon but its fun to draw like this when i dont work on big projects.
Huckleford Bettershape [he/him]: The first leader and the first to arrive on broken tooth's shores with a collective group of grumpuses trying to escape the rule of the first queen "Fareson wigglegrump", he is the oldest relative in the Troubleham family tree being an extremely distant relative to the now living Wambus, he was a strong powerful leader and lead the group of grumpuses, after a few good decades of his life he soonly went blind but being the strong never giving up attitude that Wambus would share with his great distant grandfather he would continue to lead even despite his condition crippling him to the point he couldn't leave his own bed for his senses were lacking over the years was still an inspiration for grumps to work hard like him as all he was left to do was give guidance to young grumps, until his passing of old age finally catching up to him.
Tumblr media
Merisa Thornwibble [she/her]: The second leader selected by Huckleford himself to take his place once he died, she was a confident leader despite her small size in comparison to the grumps around her and mothered many pups, yet her punishment on those who wronged her, was banishment from the island, she lost sight in one of hers due to an attack caused by another grumpus but she continued not letting it get her down, her death came swiftly then others dying from an infectious plague that spread around the island that grumps would later title it as reginae ultionem. "The queen's revenge" thinking that this was caused by Huckleford leading grumps off mainland snaktooth during the time of Queen Fareson's rule as a curse for betraying her majesty, a plague that revenged through who lived in the dense communities of the island, only few were safe from this plague that managed to retreat to more far lands of broken tooth during these times of sickness, the sickness grew worse in the winter months but surely came to a sudden end, grumps thought of this as a divine blessing from mother naturea.
Tumblr media
Laurza Munchbitter [she/her]: The third leader, she wasnt selected to become since Merisa's dying there was no one to take her place without a leader passing on for them to be next, so a group of grumps who called themselves electos saluatores "the chosen saviors" decided to take it into their own paws saying they were able to speak with mother naturea on a close level yet their decisions were for their own gain, gathering 4 grumpuses to undergo a trial, 3 out of the 4 died leaving Laurza left to be crowned leader. But many werent happy with this choice for her mother "Walladay Darnfear" was banished from the land during Merisa's leadership so Laurza was ostracized by her fellow grumps including her own brother seeing her as unworthy to lead and how the electos saluatores got their words wrong picking someone like her to lead, during her time of leadership the island was only in its staring points of becoming unlivable, the tides were seeming to drifting in closer than it was before as small earthquakes shook the ground, her death came in the form of being sacrificed to the undersnax, which had opposed them only for a short time but that would soon come to end, as the snax's grew more aggressive for she was the last sacrifice.
Tumblr media
Peeble Mottleshrink [he/they]: The last known leader in the records they had ended the grump sacrifices meaning no more were to keep them at bay, they were one of the only grumpuses who ever trusted Laurza, the two were close and would share secrets with each other, Laurza knowing her time would eventually come to its unfortunate end soon enough gave them the highest power of being the next leader, as Peeble learnt of her death, they felt a great power and was determined to do his dead friend right, Broken tooth was already beginning to fail at that point due to Laurza's leadership never taken seriously making grumpuses turn on eachother, and the amount of earthquakes being more and more frequent then in past years, there was a panic amongst grumps and electos saluatores had to soon disband for how much pressure was being placed on them and their lies were being seen through. With Peebles harsh attitude and deminer they managed to get atleast most grumps to come with him to mainland snaktooth or off to snakless lands, those left at Broken tooth would die due to the island sinking or crushed by the falling rubble, or due to the fact that the bugsnax had gone into a frenzy with no sacrifices for the while Peeble lead.
Tumblr media
and now here's a drawing of them all side by side and their heights to each other.
