Hello friends! Recently, I participated in the fourth HP Rare Pair fest, and with 81 unique and beautiful entries it was a veritable FEAST for the eyes and heart and soul. (Check out the whole collection here)

I wanted to take a moment to post highlights of the fics that just really brought me to my knees in hopes that you’ll fangirl/boy/person over them with me!

1. Evergreen by @thecouchsofa (23k)- Harry Potter x George Weasley What would happen if Harry asked George to go to the Yule Ball with him instead of Parvati? This GOF Yule Ball AU is sure to slay you with sheer adorableness. I couldn’t stop smiling and squealing through the whole thing. This rare pair is one of my favorites, and this fic went above and beyond, plus it’s the perfect holiday read! Rating: T

2. Lonely Creatures by @apricitydays-lazynights (5k)- Severus Snape x Giant Squid The prompt to put these two together could easily have been pure hentai crack nonsense (which is a brilliant option) but this story did things to me that I can’t even put into words. It’s tender, melancholy, and cuts to the heart of Severus Snape’s isolation and longing to be seen and loved. The details of this are so richly woven, and I particularly enjoyed the authors’ focus on Mermlish/Merfolk. Standing ovation to this fic! Rating: E

3. Slice of Night by SquibNation10 (9k)- Aurora Sinistra x Severus Snape This was the fic that took me the most by surprise. I love the creativity in taking a character who gets very few canon details and making them real and beautiful and believable. Auror Sinistra is divine in this, and I’ll give some honorable mentions to both Argus Filch and Rolanda Hooch as excellent supporting characters that also don’t typcially get a lot of spotlight. What a gorgeous slice of life fic! Rating: T

3. Quick Quotes and Quibbles by RainstormRadish (3k)- Luna Lovegood x Rita Skeeter Rita and Luna have to work together to cover the wedding of Neville Longbottom and Pansy Parkinson. There’s just something about a story told in unconventional medium that will always ALWAYS pull me in! This unlikely pairing comes together in the sweetest way, their strong personalities balancing each other out until they become a formidable team. I particularly loved the graphics and paper trail memos/epistolary style storytelling. Rating: T

4. Your seat, it’s the best seat by @the-houseryn (17k)- Ron Weasley x Draco Malfoy MOVE OVER only one bed, there’s a new trope in town and it’s the ONLY ONE SEAT trope!! This was sexy, flirtatous, and hot AF. I’m always down for a Dron fic, but this one is one of the best I’ve read in a while, with some delicious pining and a predictably oblivious Ron. Do yourself a favor and indulge in the lap-sitting fic of the year! Rating: E

5. Vivaldi and Hot Chocolate by @patriceavril (6k)- Percy Weasley x Stan Shunpike What was Percy up to in OTP/HBP? What a lonely life that must have been! This fic was soft and sweet, giving some much-needed love to a character that we all wrote off in canon for being a stuck-up prick. I love how Percy seeks out the warmth and comfort of the Knight Bus, coming back for more because of the kind-hearted and bubbly Stan Shunpike, who always insists on giving Percy free hot chocolate. I never expected to be so enamoured by this pairing, but I am! Rating: T

6. The monster you feed by @ghostfelicis188 (11k)- Regulus Black x Remus Lupin This canon-compliant fic tore me to shreds. TO SHREDS. Like, I am such a simp for tragic Remus romances, and this took the cake. Features: pining artist Remus, and shit-eating cruel Regulus who toys with Remus the whole damn fic. If you like hurt no comfort, this is the fic for you. *Chefs Kiss* Rating: M

7. Gilded Web by @emilyrickman AlihotsyTotsy (8k)- George Weasley x Blaise Zabini I cannot believe that this understated fic packed such a punch in 8,000 words. George agrees to an undercover operation to investigate the mysterious deaths of Mrs. Zabini’s deceased husbands. He is so pure in this, his characterization charming and believable, I just need more of this George! Bonus points for references to “the Sting” Rating: M

8. Sleeping with Ghosts by @ghaniblue (21k)- Harry Potter x Regulus Black x Draco Malfoy My initial thoughts when encountering this relationship tag was something akin to a bewildered head scratch but OMG the best thing about this fest is having expectations completely upended! This fic slayed hard with a slow burn, found family, semi-sentient house renovation angle that had me completely melted by the end. Rating: M

9. The Last Trial of Peter Petegrew by @sleepstxtic (20 k)- Peter Petegrew x James Potter If possible, I’d like to ram this fic down the throats of all my mutuals with a plea to PLEASE READ THIS FIC. I can’t begin to describe in a tiny paragraph what this did to me. Often Peter Petegrew is relegated to the traitor bus in fandom (understandable) but this took every mean and traitorous part of his character and made me almost like him despite his treachery! The format of this was also a delight to read, and I love that Hermione presents the case for Peter Petegrew in this meta purgatory-style courtroom drama. Rating: M

10. Anatomy of a memory by @venom0usbarbie (9k)- Ginny Weasley x Tom Riddle This story was pure poetry wrapped in a sinister diary-shaped package. I love the self-fulfilling prophecy nature of this time loop style storyline, as well as the toxic obsession and manipulation played out between Ginny and Tom. What a mindfuck ending that was, too! Kudos to the “Tom Riddle is his own Warning” tag. Rating: M

11. Sweet Boy by @maraudersaffair (6k)- Narcissa Black Malfoy x Harry Potter A not-quite-fake dating fic with lots of smut, thirst, and mommy/praise kink? Yes, please! I was literally panting by the end of this, Harry and Narcissa are so hot together! Rating: E

12. Growing Suspicion by nocturn (1.8k)- Neville Longbottom x Marcus Flint Someone keeps mutilating Neville’s plants, and he’s going to get to the bottom of it OR that time Marcus expresses feelings but doesn’t understand proper plant care. This fic was A-DOR-ABLE. Love me a good Hogwarts professors/staff fic, and this was just a bite-sized delight to read. Rating: G

13. For Your Burning Gaze by SquibNation10 (22k)- Neville Longbottom x Pansy Parkinson The fic that I most want to see a sequel for award goes to… this Twilight Zone post-war marriage law fic complete with creepy house elves and a very troubled Pansy, who seems to be the only one realizing that something is not quite right! This is one of the best Panville fics I’ve read, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Rating: E

Fandom: The Bear (2022) Pairing: Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto x Aurora Saltillo (oc)

A double Michelin star(s) award winning pastry chef, Aurora Saltillo is adjusting to a complicated world without her mother and without Mikey. Just when she is barely starting to see process in The Beef, Carmy takes over and enters her life again.

Carmy, the same rival from culinary school. Carmy, the same cold-hearted bastard from New York City who took her dream job. Carmy, the same one who ultimately broke Mikey's heart.

Simply said, Aurora can't stand Carmy; Carmy can't stand Aurora. And now, they have to work together.

It only gets more complicated from there. \\\ Latina OC.

Aurora Saltillo contemplated every decision she had made up to that point in time.

Carmy was not a bad person. But when he got serious, he got serious. For Aurora, cooking and baking was fun. It was her joy. She made her own quinceañera cake when she turned fifteen. She catered meals for her family. Growing up with a Mexican biological mother and a Chinese adoptive step mother, she fully embraced both cultures and proudly incorporated both into her cooking.

That was, until she disappeared for two years following a personal crisis and a major breakdown after her mother’s diagnosis. And COVID. Can’t forget that. At least at The Beef, no one questioned her disappearance. They were there for her, unlike the culinary scene in New York. The Beef had her back.

Between losing her mother a month before Mikey’s suicide, there was too much going on for her to process anything.

Now, the kitchen was cleaned up and it has calmed down. Well, more like it had burned out.

Today was a fucked up day and those did not happen very often.

Aurora was too amped up on adrenaline to cry in the freezer. She was too devoted to Mikey to leave. Mikey should be in the kitchen, cooking with them, calming everyone the hell down and cracking jokes and being silly.

So, she numbly took a step back, looking at the recipe for pure disaster.

One energy drink, two stars, three major breakdowns and four tragedies later, Aurora found herself here. In the middle of the aftermath of an angry kitchen. The online orders got fucked up. Everything got fucked up.

Syd walked out. Marcus walked out. Everyone was angry. Richie was bleeding. Everyone was pissed off. But ultimately, the day was over and they could all go home and leave the stress behind.

Syd was not answering Aurora’s texts. Marcus sent her to voicemail.

It was a fucked-up day.

But at least there was tomorrow.

Aurora had cussed out Carmy in the kitchen once the last order was done. She kept it together. Then the onions had to happen. She fucked up an onion. She almost walked out. But she remembered where she was. She remembered who she was.

And she cussed Carmy out to the point even his ancestors must have felt the shame.

She was angry. They were both angry. Frustrated. Hurt.

Richie tried to lead her to the cooler and tried to have her sit there for twenty minutes. She only made it for five. She was too angry to even feel the cold.

“Nothing smart to say this time?”

Here we go…

It was going to be one of those exits, it seemed.

“Plenty,” Aurora said flatly. “Today was a fucked up day, Carm.”

“Don’t need the reminder.”

He did.

“No, you fucking do,” Aurora said. “You had two amazing chefs walk out on you today. Be lucky you didn’t lose three.”

“You were going to walk out too?”

“I was tempted.”

“Well, chef of the year goes to you.” Carmy exhaled the smoke.

Somehow, that was what got to Aurora.

“You know what? Do me a favor—no, do us all a favor—and go home, get the fattest fucking blunt, smoke it and chill the fuck out,” Aurora snapped. “Today was a fucked up day and your shitty attitude is what drove everyone apart. Mistakes happen! It happens! But you’re too much of a fucking egoistical perfectionist to realize it.”

“Yeah, I get it.”

Aurora ran out of steam. She let out a huff. “Fine.” She turned on her heels and began to talk to the train station.

“Wait.”

“What is it?”

“Marcus’s donut. It was…” Carmy trailed off. “It was good.”

A really weird olive branch.

“Of course, it was. Marcus made it.” Aurora tightened her coat. “Goodnight, Carmy.”

On a rough day like this, Mikey would have hugged her. Told her it was okay. He would have reassured her that everything was fine and to cool off in the cooler so she could get cooler.

Boy, did she sob at Mikey’s funeral.

She was broken. Everything was broken. Her best friend, lost and gone. The one who called her Rora. The one who called her the Little Lion, who liked to roar. Marcus held her in his arms for comfort and so she would not collapse again. Her mom, widow, held Richie’s arm.

She did not connect the dots about Carmy being the same Carmen from New York City, nor the same asshole from culinary school while at the funeral. She was too busy crying. She couldn’t compose herself for Richie’s sake, as much as she tried to tell herself to do so. All that was on her mind was Mikey. All she could process was Mikey. All she could think of was Mikey on the cold table.

Richie didn’t blame her either.

At his apartment after the service, she curled up with him on the couch on his lap, held each other in silence. Watched the Blackhawks game on low volume. Both of their eyes were swollen from crying. Throats numb from the sobs. He merely held her. Mourning for the same man who should have been alive. She fell asleep like that.

She woke up to Richie talking to Marcus in the middle of the night. About how he was worried about Aurora. About how he was in shock and felt like an endless nightmare.

Mikey stressed about The Beef. She knew that. She was the one sitting on Mikey’s desk trying to crunch the numbers on her calculator app on what supplies they could get in bulk from the dollar store. The Lion Perch, as she called it. She was an optimist. She was the one who was trying to fix it all alongside him.

She was the one who was with Richie when they identified the body too.

A month later, she returned to work at the Beef to Carmy trying to fix everything. The same Carmy who took her dream job. The same Carmy who despised her in culinary school.

Just like in New York City, Carmy was making it worse.

Her mom was in the kitchen watching the telenovela when Aurora got home.

“Ma, I’m home!” She loudly greeted.

“Hey baby!” Her mom greeted. “Dinner is ready. I made sesame beef.”

Aurora loved making dinner. It was one of her favorite meals to make, next to breakfast. But sometimes, her mom took over and unexpectedly made it. She said it was to vary the flavor. But Aurora knew it was to try to take the weight off her chest.

But her mom cooked something. She actually cooked!

This was a win. This was a big win. Her mom rarely cooked after her mama’s funeral.

“Fuck yeah! How was work?”

“Shit,” her mother said simply. “But I survived. What about you?”

It was horrible. I miss Mikey. I miss mom.

Instead, Aurora shrugged and laid her head on her mom’s shoulder. “I made it through.” She sat down at the kitchen table. “Come on, ma. I do not want to miss this part.” She gestured to sit next to her.

At least there was tomorrow.

A/N My head canon for Tobias's background is that he comes from a wealthy, successful family. With his confidence and almost love of the chase when it comes to He and Ethan and the MC going after high profile patients leads me to believe Tobias having parents who instilled that love of butting heads and always challenging yourself. Plus since Ethan has an enjoyment of the finer things in life, i.e. the top shelf scotch and opera, and he doesn't come from money; I think he learned about that way of life through his friendship with Tobias in college. So in this drabble (which takes place before the attack in Book 2 and part of my storyline of Tobias and the MC dating since she and Aurora encountered him at the diner in Book 2) my MC, Chris, will be his date for his mother's wedding

Tobias Carrick's Family

Home: Greenwich, Connecticut

Father: Marcus Carrick*deceased*- was one of the highest paid corporate lawyers in New York City. He died from a heart attack during Tobias's first year in med school.

Mother: Celeste Carrick- a retired interior designer. Spends most of her free time with her grandchildren or taking part in the social scene in Greenwich.

Older Brother: Hugh Carrick- a highly successful corporate lawyer. Married to Vericona Deloache who owns one of New York's top bakeries. The two met when Hugh went to her bakery one afternoon for some needed comfort food. They have three children under the age of ten: Katelyn, Abigail, and Marcus.

Younger Brother: Phillip Carrick- highly respected American history professor at Yale. He's married to Jasmine Cho, an Art History professor at Yale. The two met one rainy afternoon when they were both rushing across the Hewitt Quad and bumped into each other. They have two children under the age of five: four year old Tabitha, and eight month old Tobey (named after his uncle for saving Phillip's life from drowning when they were children)

The Carrick home in Greenwich, Connecticut...

"How was the drive down?"

Tobias dragged his attention away from Chris playing outside with his nieces and nephews to answer his older brother, Hugh.

"Great. Not a lot of traffic."

His younger brother, Phillip, joined them.

"Chris seems to be winning over our most judgmental members of the family."

Tobias snorted in amusement. That was an understatement if ever he heard one. Not one of the latest generation of Carrick's gave outsiders an easy time. Nannies, teachers, and coaches had to work overtime to try and win their trust and smiles.

The squeals of laughter followed by them all shouting Chris's name along with them practically hanging off of her let them all know this was a pretty big deal. Four small bodies were wrapped around her arms and legs.

Tobias saw his mother, Celeste, beaming as she laughed at the sight. She was holding the youngest of her grandchildren, eight months old Tobey, who was doing all he could to wiggle out of her arms and join in on the fun.

Hugh and Phillip's wives, Veronica and Jasmine, were also laughing while trying to tell their children to ease up before they broke Chris.

"So..." Hugh's smirk grew. "Chris must be important to you."

Phillip nudged Tobias on the other side. "When's the last time you brought a woman home to meet the family?"

Tobias merely smiled.

Hugh being the successful lawyer of the family chuckled over his silence. "I see we have an evasive witness, Phil."

"That's more your department than mine," Phillip teased. "I've learned that when he refuses to talk, there's little we can do to get him to answer other than blackmail."

Hugh laughed out loud. "I know just the thing."

Before his brothers could question him, he dashed upstairs. He returned with a photo album that Tobias immediately recognized.

"Is that-?"

"It is." Hugh replied with evil glee. "Every shred of evidence is in here."

Tobias's efforts to snatch the album that held pictures of his less than intelligent decisions as a teenager away from Hugh was thwarted by Phillip playing interference.

"Answer the question or I show Chris this album." Hugh threatened.

"All right!" Tobias held his hands up in surrender with a smile. "Yes, Chris is very important to me which is why I brought her here as my date for Mom's wedding."

"About time you got tied down like the rest of us." Hugh joked. "I was worried you'd be left out of monogamous bliss."

"Ha. Ha." Tobias poured them each a drink. "You two already found what I assumed were the only women on the planet willing and able to deal with a Carrick. I'm just as surprised as you are that I found Chris."

His attention drifted back outside to see Chris drop down on one of the lounge chairs beside his mom. Without any hesitation, she took Tobey in her arms the moment he reached for her. Her tender smile grew softer as he snuggled his head against her shoulder. One little fist held a lock of her red hair as he began to fall asleep.

"That settles it." Phillip shook his head in pity. "Sorry Tobias, but I'm kidnapping Chris and am going to keep her until Tobey goes to college."

"No can do, Phillip." Hugh chortled. "Veronica already staked her claim on her. Our three have never reacted that way to an outsider before."

"I think there's only one Carrick that she's willing to be kept by." Tobias remarked on his way outside. "And it isn't either of you."

"And he's out." Jasmine whispered. "He should sleep the whole night after the day he's had."

She gently untangled Tobey's little fingers from Chris's hair then took him in her arms.

"He's a sweetheart." Chris replied, her soft smile still directed on the baby.

Jasmine beamed at her before slipping back inside with Tabitha following close behind her.

Veronica got to her feet and called her bunch over to begin the long process of getting everyone settled for the night.

Tobias chuckled over their groans as he held the door open for them.

Celeste watched her son settle down close to Chris with a great deal of amused interest.

"Did they wear you out?" He teased.

Chris laughed, slouching against him. "I've never had such a workout in my life."

She cuddled closer to his side when his arm slipped around her shoulders.

"They are a lot of fun." She added. "I just need more energy to keep up."

"Now you know why I have so many coffee makers in my kitchen." Celeste teased. "Those five require my energy plus any that can be manufactured."

She got to her feet, smiling down at them. "I think I'll also turn in."

"Can't have the bride-to-be exhausted for the rehearsal." Tobias teased. "Is the groom aware what awaits him?"

Celeste chuckled as she leaned down to hug him.

"Trust me. Roger knows how much work goes into being with a Carrick."

She reached over and hugged Chris.

"I am thrilled you came along with Tobias."

"I couldn't miss the chance to see where he came from." Chris's smile held mischief. "And to see what made him the man he is today."

"Amazing, isn't it?" Celeste replied. "Who knew this much confidence could be put in one man."

Tobias groaned, dropping his head back.

"My brothers aren't exactly humble."

"True." Celeste tapped her chin while studying him. "Must be your father's genes."

"Ha. Ha." He shooed her away. "Get out of here so I can convince Chris I'm not that bad."

"I don't think I need much convincing." Chris slipped her hand in his.

Celeste observed her son's smile bloom as he turned toward the young woman he'd brought home. She couldn't help but be thankful that Tobias had finally met someone who knew just what he needed.

A playful, yet tender heart.

"Goodnight, dears." She slipped away to tell her other sons her opinion.

"Well?" Hugh asked once the door was shut.

Phillip propped his elbows on the bar. "What do you think of them together, Mom?"

Celeste glanced over her shoulder at the shadowed couple cuddled together on the lounge chair.

"I think there will be another Carrick wedding before too long."

Belle Haven Country Club...

Tobias took a moment to get off by himself. After dancing for the fourth time with his nieces, he'd slipped outside to consider all the changes in his life. Glancing back at the club, he could see those he loved through the glass doors.

So many smiles flashed with muffled laughter tinkling with the muted sounds of music. He saw his brothers with their wives, Hugh dancing with his Veronica while Phillip talked to a group with his hand holding Jasmine's. His mother was once again holding little Tobey, laughing at Roger's attempts to make the baby laugh. It was all how it should be for a night of celebrating.

He was happy and yet a part of him longed for something.

One of the doors opening drew his attention.

"I'm escaping." Chris explained. "I've told all the funny and gross medical stories I know of to your neighbors."

Tobias chuckled as he placed his arm around her, drawing her close to his chest.

"Welcome to Greenwich."

"Thanks."

Chris wrapped her arms around his waist. Her eyes drifted over his face, brow puckering with concern.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"Nothing." He promptly responded.

"Tobias."

"I don't know, Chris. I don't know what's wrong with me." His eyes narrowed as he tried to think of a way to explain what he felt.

"Is it because things are changing?" She asked. "You seemed shocked when Hugh explained your mom's plans with the house and all."

He slowly nodded. "I guess that's it."

He had been floored and yet he knew he shouldn't be. After all, he knew Roger would want to create a home with his mom without memories of his father at every turn. He even supported it. And as if Celeste knew her sons would need their childhood home to remain as it was, she'd decided to keep it and use it for just their holiday gatherings and when the grandchildren wanted to spend the night.

The thought that the house would remain for the most part empty hurt. It was almost like the moment his father's coffin had been shut. It was final. There was no returning to what once was.

Chris rested her cheek against his chest, holding him closer than before.

He set his drink down and wrapped both arms around her, accepting this quiet comfort she gave so freely.

It was just like her to not try and reason with him over a feeling that couldn't be easily explained. She allowed him to feel it without the guilt of being childish or foolish all while doing her utmost to comfort him.

"I love you, Chris."

She propped her chin on his chest, smiling up at him.

"You better."

He laughed, feeling more of his tension melt off.

She kissed him in the midst of his laugh.

"I love you, too." She whispered against his lips.

He moaned softly at the heat of their next kiss. The stray thought of his earlier conversation with Hugh about the house came to mind.

While Chris was talking to Vericona, Hugh lowered his voice.

"I think Mom's hoping you'll eventually want to move into the house."

"Me? Why? I work in Boston. That house is too big for a single man."

"Not just you." Hugh gave him a look of exasperation. "You and your family."

Tobias choked on his drink.

"And here we thought you were smart." Hugh teased, thumping him on the back.

Tobias glared at him as he tried to breathe through the burn his whiskey sour left throughout his nose and throat.

"Anyway," Hugh was unfazed by the glare, "She's already had me put the house in a trust for all of us. Between it and the prenup, she is making sure that everything she and Dad have goes to us and our children."

"Roger agreed to that?"

"He did." Hugh shook his head slowly as if in disbelief. "Then he had me write that the majority of his fortune goes to Mom upon his death."

"Really?" Tobias looked over at the couple. "I knew he'd had a crush on her in high school. But to go that far after fifty some odd years apart..."

"The power of love." Hugh shrugged. "The kids like him."

"That's a good sign."

"Mom wouldn't have gone on another date with him if they hadn't."

They both watched the couple share a slow dance.

"It's good she won't be alone so much." Hugh whispered.

Tobias nodded in agreement.

As he kissed Chris, he began to think about what his childhood home would be like as his own. He could imagine the voices of children echoing through the halls as they got ready for a visit from their family. He could picture a few of them with red hair running down the stairs to greet him after a long day of work.

And he could easily see Chris there, adding even more memories to the precious ones he held.

"Chris?"

"Hmm?"

"You think you'd ever want to leave Boston?"

"And go where?"

"Maybe here?"

"Greenwich?"

"Yes."

She contemplated it for a few seconds.

"I could see myself doing that." She caressed his cheek. "After all, I know of a great family that lives close by."

"You should meet their middle son." He teased.

Her lips twitched with mirth. "Really? And why is that?"

"He's a great guy. Handsome. Utterly charming. Brilliant diagnostician." He explained.

"Wow. I've always wanted to meet a man like that." She eased out of his arms with a flirty smile. "I had no idea that the Mitchell's had a doctor in the family."

Tobias squeezed a laugh out of her while he began to tickle her for such a statement about one of the neighbors.

"Tobias!" She squealed when his hand drifted down her highly sensitive rib cage once more.

"Which family has the handsome, charming doctor?" He growled against her neck.

"The Carrick's do." She breathlessly replied.

"Damn right they do." He kissed her once more.

"Would you like to stay out here or go back inside?" She asked.

"Which would you prefer?"

"I don't mind either way." Chris rested her head on his shoulder. "I'll go wherever you want."

Tobias pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, grateful and amazed that he'd found someone like her.

"We'll go back inside. It's a party after all."

"I wouldn't be opposed to sneaking back out here." Chris winked at him as she looped her arm through his. "Especially if someone joins me for illicit kisses."

"I know just the man for the job." He replied.

Chris hugged his arm.

"I thought you would."

aurora doesn't do this. aurora, is a good girl. a good, obedient, girl, who does as she is supposed to do. or she had done, for most of her life. but there is just something about marcus that brings out something in her. something dark and wild, something that would make her godmothers ashamed of her. she shouldn't even be entertaining anything with a man twice her age, who didn't seem interested in pursuing a serious relationship, anyways. her family was so old-fashioned, and if she was going to be having sex, it would be with someone she could have a future with. that wasn't marcus. but he wouldn't let her start a future with anyone else, either. he acted as if she belonged to him. aurora hated that. and she had been intent on telling him that, that very night, when he started a fight with her date. somehow, her yelling at him ended up with him dragging her into an alley, and before she knew it, she was kissing him. it was a mash of angry teeth and tongue, her hands grabbing at his clothes, desperately wanting more. he ripped the tiny crop top she was wearing off her body, and she was left to gasp as her now naked back touched the dirty, slightly damp wall behind her. “ fucking bastard, ” was all she could say, as she heard him unbuckling his belt. as angry as she should be, she was desperate for him. far more desperate than she cared to admit. she should push him off of her, scream for help. but it isn't as if she doesn't want this. it wasn't as if she couldn't have fought him harder. when he pushes inside of her, aurora moans his name, throwing her head back, exposing her neck and chest to his hungry lips. like it or not, he's the only man that seems to fulfill her needs. all the boys her age are so boring. and she has tried dating the proper, nice men her godmothers would approve of. but somehow, the good girl she is, she always ends up right here. with marcus right between her legs.

Imagine in a Star Fox Next Gen by Nintendo, Wolf will be around his mid or late 50s and fathers two pups:

A son named Conan O'Donnell, age 22. Grey and silver wolf with short silver spikey hair. Heterochromia, left eye is amber and right eye is purplish red. New leader of Star Wolf and a rival to Marcus McCloud, new leader of Star Fox, and 19 year old son of Fox and Krystal McCloud.

And a daughter named Aurora O'Donnell, age 19. Silver and ghost white wolf with long silver-tinted lavender hair in waist-length. Like her older brother, she has heterochromia eyes, except the opposite: left-purplish red and right-amber. And she's actually a girl from Marcus' childhood like maybe as a close friend. Oooh Marcus McCloud's love interest?

Conan and Aurora are Wolf's illegitimate children that both have his last name and the two pups even share the same lupine mother who was romantically involved with Wolf.

And so far, Conan and Aurora are the only two known children fathered by Wolf O'Donnell. So it is unknown if either they are his only two or Wolf could possibly have more offsprings from different women that are yet to be revealed!

Grounded

A/N: Set during season 2 after Marcus returns to Arkadia (then Camp Jaha) after having been locked up by the Grounders with Jaha and Lexa.

Also based on my OC and the fact that she was one of the hundred despite not being a prisoner on the Ark. Her father is Marcus and her mother is Aurora (Bellamy and Octavia’s mother). There’s a story behind how it all came to be and how Marcus was never floated or whatever, but I won’t get into it unless someone asks! XD Enjoy nonetheless!

Name: Grounded

Summary: You have a long overdue discussion with your father about your trip down to Earth.

Words: 1700

You absently fidgeted with the sleeves of your too-big shirt. You were watching from the doorway of the room, attentive eyes training Abby as she worked on Marcus’s wrists. His ankle had already been tended to – you could still see the bloody rags in the bowl of water – but as far as Jaha’s doctoring abilities went, bandaging was the most he was capable of and so the wounds had been less than looked after. You’d heard Abby say he probably wouldn’t have made it much longer if she hadn’t been able to stitch him up.

You hated lingering, but you didn’t want to interrupt the two and, to be quite honest, you weren’t totally sure you were ready for the inevitable conversation that was to come now you and your father had the time.

“Hey.” You turned at the new voice, jumping a little but remaining calm all the same. You had to remember you weren’t in as much danger anymore. A guard you couldn’t quite remember seeing on the Ark was stood behind you, wearing a soft smile. “Is Abby still fixing up the Chancellor?” he asked, and you nodded.

The guard craned his head a little to look further inside the room. “Would you mind giving them this once they’re done?” He handed you a piece of paper with what seemed to be a list written on. “It’s all the medicinal supplies we have, both from the Ark and the dropship.”

“Sure,” you said with a smile, and he nodded his head in thanks, turning to walk the way he’d come. You watched for a moment before sighing and scanning the list. It sure wasn’t a lot. Definitely not enough.

“There,” you just about heard Abby say, “pain should be minimal, but I’ll get you some relievers all the same.”

You heaved another sigh resignedly. It was now or never. “You might wanna hold back on that a bit.” You pushed yourself away from the doorway and walked into the room, immediately moving back to playing with the hemmed ends of your sleeves. Both Marcus and Abby turned to look at you, the former gaining a softer look at the sight of you.

Abby frowned as she washed the blood from the rags. “What do you mean?”

“A guard told me to give you this.” You handed your father the list and jumped up to sit on the hospital bed next to him, noticing how your feet were practically miles from the ground.

“What is it?” Abby asked, and Kane shook his head a little vaguely.

“It’s a list of all the medical supplies we have here. Pills, IV bags… even bandages.” He glanced up at her, handing it over once she’d dried her hands. “It doesn’t look like a lot.”

Abby shook her head. “It’s not. They’ll last a while until we can start making our own from the other supplies we brought down with us, but in the meantime, we better start telling people to hold off falling ill.” She smiled sombrely and picked up the bowl. “I’ll leave you both. Remember to let me know if the pain gets worse, Marcus,” she said, and Marcus nodded with a flicker of a smile as she moved to walk out of the room. You glanced down at your hands. It seemed Abby also knew the inevitability of that conversation.

Your eyes fell on Marcus’s foot. It was bandaged up, but the purple tone of his skin was still poking out above the whiteness, even in the darkness of the room. “Does it hurt?” you asked him.

He followed your eyes and shook his head. “Not much. Just a little ache.”

You nodded and turned slightly, reaching for his bandaged wrist. “What about this?” You trailed your finger over it. It still scared you to think you would have lost him had his plan to sacrifice his life succeeded. Thank God for Jaha. And you were quite positive that was the first time those words had escaped anyone’s mouth, let alone yours.

Marcus took your hand in his. “My ankle hurts more,” he reassured you, giving you a warm smile which you responded to all too easily. After a moment he heaved a sigh and his expression adopted a firmer tone. “We need to talk.”

“I know.”

“First, I want to know how you did it. How the hell did you get on that dropship?” He’d been wishing for an answer ever since he’d realised you were down on the ground. What had been a simple “does anyone know where Y/N is?” had turned into a full-fledged search which consequently drew them to the only result; you had somehow managed to acquire a space on that ship. Marcus had held off believing you’d done it willingly – you’d always been a good girl – until Raven had managed to get the radio working and he’d had the chance to speak with you. Time had been sparse then, though, so he’d never received the full story, and, besides, you’d clearly been holding back as long as possible.

“Well,” you started, sucking in a deep breath, “when I found out both Bellamy and Octavia were going down… I wanted to go too.”

Marcus rose both eyebrows. “That’s the only reason?” he asked, a little perplexed, but he calmed when you rapidly shook your head.

“No, no. I- I just wanted to see the ground! I wanted to touch the grass and- and feel the wind. Everyone on the Ark did. So, when I realised Bell had gotten himself on, I managed to convince him to swap me with someone else. I…” At this, you gained a rather sheepish look. “I put my name on the list of the one hundred using your login… just in case somebody asked or recognised me.”

Marcus’s eyebrows rose even higher at that. “You did, huh?”

“Yeah. Sorry. But we didn’t need to use it in the end. Bellamy got me on.”

“I can see that.”

You looked at him. “For what it’s worth, I am sorry, Dad,” you said genuinely. “But I… I thought it would be safe down here. I didn’t see how you could send down one hundred kids without knowing it was safe.” Your voice quietened at the end, and you avoided Marcus’s gaze. Marcus sighed and nodded slowly, glancing down at his hands.

“I know,” he said, just as quiet. “I know we shouldn’t have done that, but if we hadn’t, we would all be dead up there now.” He turned on the bed, prompting you to do the same, and looked at you with firm grey eyes. “I was terrified, Y/N.” He kept his eyes locked on yours, ensuring you couldn’t look away, ensuring you took each word he said to heart and realised what exactly it was he was trying to say. “You’re all I’ve got.”

You felt the tears in your eyes before your vision became any kind of blurry. You swallowed thickly and blinked quickly. You’d become quite the emotional girl after coming to the ground, but then you had reason, you supposed. You’d never been as brave as you would have liked to be. As brave as your mother had been.

“I’m sorry,” you said hoarsely, lurching forward and wrapping your arms tightly around his neck. Marcus responded in kind, enveloping you in his own and holding you close. He breathed in your scent, something which had comforted him since the day you’d been passed into his arms, and shut his eyes. God, had he thought he’d lost everything the moment he’d realised where you were. Nobody on the Ark had known if the Earth was survivable. Sure, they’d hoped for it beyond hope, but the majority of opinions had gone toward it not being habitable, and for the first time in quite a while he’d felt unabated fear at the thought of losing you. You were fifteen, had lived your entire life, safe, on the Ark, and had absolutely no understanding of how to survive anywhere, let alone on a planet which, to the best of their knowledge, was brimming with radiation and could very well kill anyone who stepped foot on its earth. He’d been scared stiff. And, admittedly, he’d subsequently channelled that into things he’d regret for the rest of his life… being a second away from floating Abby one of them.

“I know.” He pat your back and drew away from you enough to place his hands against your cheeks and turn you so you were facing him. “But I also know that if we were still on the Ark and you’d done something to this extent, I’d be dealing with it very differently.” You made to protest and he shook his head. “I understand you thought it would be safe and that I’d be following close behind, but that wasn’t the case at all, and it’s for that reason I didn’t send you down in the first place.” He sighed as your face fell. He was speaking quietly, the only sound being the distant chattering of those bustling about outside. “I know you got bored on the Ark. It’s what all those storybooks do to you. But you know I know what’s best for you, sweetheart.” Marcus brushed a strand of hair behind your ear. “Alright?”

“Alright,” you thankfully agreed. You smiled as he pressed a kiss to the tip of your nose.

“Good girl.”

As he sat back to pull his boot on, a thought came to your head and you grimaced a little. “Hey, Dad?”

“Hm?”

“You’re not gonna get mad at Bellamy, are you?”

The man chuckled. “No, I’m not. I doubt it’d make a difference.”

You nodded, jumping down from the bed. “Nope. He did much worse to get onboard, anyway.”

Marcus followed after you, draping an arm around your shoulders in order to walk out of the room with you. “Yeah,” he scoffed, “the perfect brother as a role model for my little girl, right?”

“Well, if it’s anything, his time on Earth has definitely changed him. I don’t think he’ll be going around shooting people anytime soon.”

Marcus rose both eyebrows and laughed drily. “That’s something.”
