my thoughts on yandere jean are kinda standard. as of now, i can only see him as a yandere that's not going to have much changes to his personality, whether or not the reader is an enemy or on his side. yeah if you're an enemy, he's first going to be a little hesitant on making a move on you but regardless, his outcome/methods are the same. he's not my most favorite character but i do like him and his character. back in middle school, i used to be OBSESSED with reading eren x reader x jean because of the conflict LMAO

anyways back to yandere jean explanation. for me, he's not the one that's going to strike first. he’s the one that’s gonna wait it out till the end, but he will have his influences in order to get what he wants. he's cunning and observant, using what he's seen and known so he can properly manipulate. to the untrained eye, it seems that he's just cocky about being able to do this but he's secretly nervous and doubtful in his abilities, constantly thinking if what he's doing is morally correct. he's still as temperamental as he was when he was a trainee but it now eats him on the inside; he doesn't express his anger that much anymore but his jealousy is at a consistent all time high.

to his friends and other soldiers, jean just seems like normal jean. sure, he's a little overprotective and tends to move you away from the others so it would be just the two of you. sure, he may tell you things about your friends that make you think twice on why you're still talking to them. sure, sometimes you can feel his hands wander a little more than you're used to. but that's only because he knows what's best for you, right? jean promises he's everything but a dishonest man, he's only looking out for you!

Your worst experience with Jean was when he caught you walking down the dark streets after escaping from his house. You had never seen someone as furious as he was. He had dragged you after your arm and thrown you inside his bedroom. You had crawled to the corner besides the dresser in an attempt to delay your inevitable punishment. Jean had only stared at you with cold eyes. He locked the bedroom door keeping you inside for two days without any food or drinks. He had told you that since you were so determined on being by yourself you could do so inside the bedroom. After that you didn’t try to escape, in fear of what he might do next time. You had after all seen the look in his eyes and heard how he muttered that he would only give you a “mild” punishment.

Jean is an extremely jealous man. He gets jealous extremely easily and he doesn’t really try to hide his jealousy. Was he not good enough? You always tried to reassure him, but to no avail. He even gets jealous at the poor cat you petted on your walk along the river. The lights were off in Jean’s room. Still, a flickering light lit up the room, coming from the small TV at the foot of his bed. He had laid down on his stomach over the plain green covers, chin resting on one fist as he gazed enraptured at the screen.

On the screen was a group of three girls dancing across a small stage, spotlights following them across the polished wood as they executed their dance moves they had spent countless hours learning from their choreographer. They each had a microphone lifted up to their glossy lips as they sang into them the lyrics of an original love song.

Jean couldn’t tear his eyes off the screen- or, more specifically, the idol left from the center- even if he tried. Even though he was two hours into the performance compilation video, his attention did not waver.

The flickering light from the TV screen lights up the posters on the walls- all featuring a certain idol. The poster above the bed, the clear centerpiece in the collage of Instagram post printouts and Google images, had a signature scrawled across it, reading (Y/n) (L/n). The featured girl had her (hair color) hair tied up in a ponytail and was winking indefinitely at the camera.

On top of the sleek wooden desk in the corner, little action figures and plushies seemed to portray the same idol. He had everything you ever sold, even a dozen mugs with your group’s faces on them.

“Perfect…” the word floats from Jean’s mouth dreamily, “Everything about her is perfect…”

Some people would argue that no one could be perfect, but Jean would readily disagree. You were beyond human standards. You were otherworldly.

Makeup on point, dress unwrinkled, face so cutely asymmetrical, and body with just the perfect amount of curves. Jean couldn’t imagine a more beautiful woman.

You doubled as a songwriter for the group. While some people critiqued the lyrics of your songs for being too cheesy, Jean, again, thought you were perfect. The songs seemed to be speaking straight to him and, when you turned to stare right through the camera’s lens into his eyes and tell him that you want to “kiss kiss kiss” him, he couldn’t help but get flustered.

Jean wouldn’t let anyone else see this side of him. Marco would understand if he saw the inside of Jean’s room, but someone like Eren? Well, Jean would be humiliated.

But if you were to become his girlfriend, like he was sure you would want to, Eren would be so jealous! Jean could never hide a grin at the thought of Eren’s jaw dropping when he saw the beautiful rising star on Jean’s arm.

He reached out his index finger and traced your dancing form on the TV screen, a soft smile tugging at his lips. He had been in love with you for three years at this point, and sometimes he wondered if you even knew he existed.

Of course she knows I exist. Jean reassured himself. She signed my poster at a meet and greet and I’ve been to eighteen of her shows. I know we met eyes during each of those shows, so there’s no doubt she’s got a crush on me. And all these love songs she’s writing are clearly talking about me.

The group began to sing their newest song and Jean’s dreamy smile dropped. This song was all about a girl feeling jealous that her crush was with someone else. At first, he thought someone else must have written it, but you had confirmed in an interview that it was a song you’d written from personal experience.

Jean couldn’t imagine who you could think he was with, until you mentioned “her dark hair” and it clicked. You meant Mikasa! Of course you would feel threatened by such an undeniably beautiful woman.

But you had nothing to worry about- he wasn’t into Mikasa anymore. You were the only girl for him.

He convinces himself that you only rejected him because you don’t understand that he’s the only one who can protect you so he will keep asking until he explodes in an aggressive bout and now “YOU BELONG TO ME, OKAY?!!”

The more you fight him on it, the more he loses his shit and that fiery temper is what made you realise you need to get away before he completely snaps. After getting your own thoughts off your chest, you decided you needed to leave. Your choice of hiding away at your mutual friend’s house was not a good one as Eren pounded and threatened to break down the door at 2am.

He finally left after you threatened to call the police, giving you time to completely disappear from his life. But everyone you called or texted for help was either busy or refused to do so. After hours of panicking about what to do, you got a text from a coworker who was willing to be your chevalier.

Your heartbeat matched the volume of your footsteps as you head over to the one saviour you could find, hands shaking with every breath you take. The paranoia slowly seeping into your mind and body, becoming one with you.

Something just didn’t feel right but if you didn’t get away now then you’ll never do, right? Being stuck with this Eren, the horrible Eren, the one you never knew was underneath that caring persona, being with him would be worse.

The cries behind the ajar door stopped you from entering. A deep breath and your trembling hands push the door completely open. Shock froze you in place as the scene unfolds before you. Your coworker was almost unrecognisable with the swelling of his face and Eren even more so unrecognisable with his bared teeth and the murderous aura he was emitting.

Any remains of the Eren you once knew immediately died as you watch him take his bloodied fists to your coworker. You watch in horror as blood drips from his knuckles, the air filled with the sound of fists connecting with bones, a metallic tinge filling your nostrils. You couldn’t even recognise your coworker anymore, his face all black and blue, body limp with the occasional wheeze coming from him.

The crazed look in Eren’s eyes made him seem almost inhumane. As if a demonic entity had taken over such an angelic face, contorting it to become as ugly as the inside was.

“See what you made me fucking do?” he says lifting up his red-stained hands to bring attention to them. His voice was surprisingly calm for the scenario that had just unfolded. “This is your fault, you know. Why are you so fucking difficult? Why do you make me punish you? Do you want me to punish you?” The questions wormed their way in, permeated into the corners of your mind.

You did this. You created this monster. Your loved ones got hurt because of you.

No. No way. It wasn’t you. You didn’t hurt anyone. You didn’t beat anyone.

Eren is not sane. He did this. Not you. Him.

But why did he? Because of you. So it’s your fault. You made him. It’s all your fault.

The voices argued back and forth for what seemed like eternity. Until the sirens snap you out of it. Somehow you gathered the energy to run as Eren lunged for you. The adrenaline pushing your body further than you thought was possible. You felt his fingers brush against your hair… fuck he’s close, someone save me. Anyone, just save me. Get me out of here. Please.

In an instant your body collides with something and you’re pressed against the wall. You scream in fear he has you until you hear the reassurance from the officer. “You’re safe now. Don’t worry, we got him”.

You sit in the back of a police car watching Eren defiantly fight against being restrained. Curses and threats being flung into the air.

You prayed you would never have to see him again, finally being able to breathe easy.

High school AU

“Y/N baby, please stop trying to escape.” Jean said as he locked the chain around her ankle. “It’s getting tiring, for you and me.”

“Why can’t you understand what I just want to go home!” Y/N yelled as she tugged on the chain. “You stalked me, kidnapped me and expect me to listen to you?!”

”Im doing this for you goddammit!” Jean yelled angrily as he watched Y/N back into the corner of the room. “N-no no, don’t be scared Y/N. I’m sorry I really am!”

”Get a-away from me! I don’t want to see you again! In fact, I don’t ever want to see a monster like you!” Y/N exclaimed as she covered her face.

”Y-Y/N please don’t say that.” Jean requested, shakily. “I didn’t want to see you get hurt when you talked to that suicidal idiot.! I’m saving you!”

”Leave me alone you bastard! I hate you! Hate you so much!” Y/N sobbed out as she tucked her legs into her torso and cried. Jean stood in the room, shocked.

”Fine! If I’m so much of a monster to you, we’ll see what it’s like without me! Your saviour, your significant other. Not Eren, me!” Jean shouted before leaving and slamming the door.

Thinking back to when Jean had began talking to her, how he was so flirtatious despite Y/N being in a relationship with Eren. Constantly telling him how she would feel uncomfortable with him towering over her or standing so close.

She’s feel like she was being followed every time she left the school to go to the store. She’s feel like an eerie atmosphere would take over her surroundings as she quickly ran home after buying her favourite energy drink. Always telling Eren about how unsafe she was and how she’d even get text messages from random numbers.

Even when Eren would walk Y/N home, the same feeling of being followed would stay. Telling her parents this, she’s always be picked and dropped off by car thanks to Mikasa’s parents. Leaving her window open one night, Y/N felt someone walk around her room, probably her mom or dad looking for something. Waking up the next morning, Y/N went through her underwear drawer to find her favourite black pair missing.

And to think that her boyfriend’s best friend would be the one behind all of it. Getting up and dragging the chain along with her, Y/N sat on the bed before falling back. Closing her eyes she soon fell asleep, in the uncomfortable position yet cozy bed.

Drifting off into her dreams, Y/N found herself in school once again, sitting between Armin and Eren. Looking around confused, everyone seemed to be talking amongst each other as the teacher had left the classroom for a bit.

“Eren?” Y/N mumbled as Eren turned to face her. “What..”

”We have to talk Y/N.” Eren said as he faced her fully. “Do you really love me?”

“What t-type of question is that.? Of course I love you!” Y/N answered.

”Then why’s you cheat on me?” Eren calmly asked, no emotion on his face.

”W-what.? What’re you talking about Eren?” Y/N asked before Armin quickly interrupted her.

”Jean posted this on his story.” Armin said as he showed a ton of pictures of Y/N and him in different positions. Some kissing each other, another being Jean having his mouth to Y/N’s neck, tons having Y/N close to naked and having lots of hickeys scattered across her body.

“W-what no no no! I didn’t do anything with Jean! I swear!” Y/N explained. “He’s lying!”

”Then why’s you post this, Hm?” Eren asked before showing Y/N’s social media posts. It was a post of her and Jean admitting that they both loved each other and that Y/N cheated on Eren.

“Eren I swear I didn’t post this! I don’t know who did this-“ Y/N explained with tears in her eyes.

”I don’t want to hear any of this bullshit. It’s because he’s the captain of the football team isn’t it? You think he’s so much better don’t you?” Eren asked angrily.

”No! I promise you Eren, I don’t even like him! Believe me!” Y/N pleaded.

”You’re a dirty little whore. A player. I hate you Y/N, so does everyone else.” Eren muttered before fading into the darkness which engulfed them.

Yelping and sitting up, Y/N was covered in tears and sweat as she arose from the nightmare she seemed to be having.

”E-Eren.” Y/N mumbled as she clasped a hand over her mouth and sobbed uncontrollably. “I miss you so much..”

Staring ahead, the room seemed to be changing shape, colours and texture with every passing second. Y/N felt lingering touches on her arms and legs, causing her to squirm on the spot.

Looking at the bottom of the door, Y/N could see a light turned on in the hallway. Getting up, Y/N walked to the door and began banging on it weakly. The chains rattled with every hit.

”Jean! Help me please!” Y/N yelled as tears fell down her face. “I’m sorry! Please help me!”

The door opened quickly as Y/N stepped back, revealing Jean with a long cloth ready to restrain her in case she planned on escaping. Quickly rushing towards him, Y/N engulfed him in a warm embrace as she sobbed into his chest.

”Y-Y/N, are you okay?” Jean asked as he held the cloth tightly in his hand and patted her head with the other. “What happened.?”

”I had a bad dream! It was horrible.. now I can’t see properly, all of my surroundings are changing and it hurts!” Y/N sobbed out as she kept her tight grip around Jean. “Please don’t leave, please stay with me. I’m sorry, I really am!”

”Baby.. let’s get you back to sleep.” Jean said as he picked her up bridal style and laid her properly in the bed. “My poor darling, are you feeling better?”

”Y-yes.” Y/N mumbled as she snuggled into his chest. “I’m feeling better now.”

Jean stroked her head gently, trying to not startled her anymore. Pulling her closer, Jean rested his chin on her head and smirked to himself. He’d finally gotten close to her, he wouldn’t have to sneak in whilst she slept and watch her then. Jean had finally won. Kissing her head, Jean closed his eyes and snuggled into the smaller girl, smirking at the thought of him winning her heart.
