JOLENE
(PART THREE OF THE OTHER WOMAN (“SO I CAN HAVE YOU BACK” SERIES))
A/N: THIS WILL PROBABLY HIT YOU IN THE FEELS... and I'm just sad. Also, yes, this is a huge flashback. (ESME POV)
PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3 - PART 4
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him just because you can
She could remember, clear as the day, the moment her husband met his soulmate. It wasn’t because of her perfect memory or because she was this supernatural being that could do things that most humans couldn’t. Not at all. It was because the day they met, she saw her husband's expression changing in a way that she had never seen before.
Not even when her dear husband had told her that he loved her, his expression had been so honest, so eager.
It was with that, that some part of her knew that she should walk away. She knew that she should let them know each other and follow the path that destiny had created for them. But a stronger beast inside her, a horrible, jealous and petty monster moved her to call his name, to hug him and press her body against him. To mark him as hers and to show his soulmate that he already had someone by his side.
That's why she wasn't surprised when his soulmate growled at her. Red eyes like the blood that he probably drank quite often shining with anger and hatred. She pretended to be confused, to follow her husband's instructions without a clue of what was happening. She let him move her behind his body and enjoyed the feeling of being his priority over his own soulmate. Now, sitting in the empty room in her home, she only felt ashamed of her actions.
Her husband's soulmate was young. Of course, she knew not to believe in someone's appearance since becoming an ageless monster herself but… A part of her, a deep part in her heart knew that he was young, inexperienced and so full of life and hope. She would even dare to say that her husband's soulmate had some innocence in him that not a lot of vampires had. Especially not the ones that drank from humans. Still, with his new golden eyes (he had started to change his diet after understanding how important it was for her husband), he looked so innocent and hopeful.
And he was gorgeous. Even for a vampire. It made her think of her seudo-daughter, Rosalie. So beautiful that even vampires had to turn to look at her twice. He was like that, those gorgeous locks of hair framing a face that looked straight out of a fairy tale. He had a mouth perfect to be kissed, plump lips painted (un)naturally with a soft pink colour, and his now golden eyes made him look like a doe. He was so beautiful that she knew that his husband had a hard time pulling away from him when it was time to go to their marital bed. She felt how her husband wanted to stay deep inside the other vampire, enjoying the feeling of being blessed by his soulmate touch while he thrust deep inside him. Sometimes, she wished she could join them in bed, to look at his husband’s soulmate being ravished and fucked beyond making any sense. To look at the face of pure pleasure that her husband would make every time he came inside his mate, and then… to make her husband watch while she made his mate enjoy her body, to make the lovely vampire see her enjoy her husband’s touch. She wanted for them to see the other coming apart by her hand and watch how they came apart by touching themselves.
Still, she knew that, even if he spent time ravishing the other male vampire, Carlisle would always leave his bed and go back to hers. She knew how every time that Carlisle left his lover’s bed, hurt the poor vampire tied to his soul. Still, she never accepted the idea or even proposed for her husband to stay with his mate for a full night. It wasn’t like Carlisle would even consider it. Her adorable husband, her sweet but traditional and a bit dumb husband. To focus on the idea of a perfect and truthful marriage that even the idea of having his mate as a lover made him fall into depression for a few months before reluctantly accepting the other vampire advances. Her husband, who as soon as he slept with his soulmate for the first time, left the other vampire and looked for her, kneeling in front of her and sobbing in her skirt while asking for forgiveness. She remembered that exact moment like it was yesterday. She remembered how she ended up looking up and saw the most heartbreaking scene in her husband’s mate. She remembered how the poor vampire’s eyes filled with tears that would never fall and how he turned around hiding inside his bedroom. Maybe the young vampire hoped for her husband to understand that they were meant to be and to leave her for him. Maybe he hoped that she would feel disgusted and leave her husband as soon as they slept together. She didn’t know.
Still, nobody left. They continued that sick routine like it was normal. Her husband started to go more often to his lover’s bed. He ravished him for hours, moaning loudly and marking him in any way that he could in his own scent, before getting out of his bed and room and going to her bed. All of this, so he could bathe in her scent until he had forgotten all about his instincts that wanted to pull him back to his soulmate's arms. Out of spite, Esme, every night that his husband went to his lover and made love to him, she put on some music… Trying her best to ignore her own imagination, to ignore how much she wanted to see them together… And as soon as he came back to her bed, she turned off the music and made him whisper loving words in her ears, knowing deep down that the other vampire was hearing everything.
She hated being the one making him feel unwelcomed, but at the same time, she loved that her husband always made her a priority over his soulmate. It was horrible, to be honest. Enjoying the clear sadness and anger from a vampire that had no other option than to love a man that clearly loved him but had promised his heart to another. Still, she had never said that she wasn’t a monster. Even if her husband wanted to believe otherwise.
Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you
Jolene
He talks about you in his sleep
And there's nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name
Jolene
She knew that her husband was starting to fall for his mate as soon as their conversations passed the simple carnal desires and started to be more simple. She understood that her husband was falling for the other vampire as soon as in the middle of the night, her husband would whisper about something his adorable soulmate had said or done the night before or about a funny joke his mate said during sex. Because, of course, his mate has helped him take some liberties and talk in ways that he wasn’t used to before. Because, his soulmate was able to help him in ways that she could never.
She knew that Carlisle was falling for his mate as soon as they came from their work at the hospital laughing and commenting about something that a doctor or a nurse said, while she stayed at their home and followed the role of the typical housewife. She knew that he was falling for him as soon as he commented about her children to his mate, as soon as he made the poor hopeful vampire think that he was going to meet them and as soon as his mate started to get a bit more possessive over Carlisle’s time.
It was almost as if he knew that her husband was falling for him, and saw it as a chance to push her out of the picture. She pretended that his rejection didn’t hurt. She pretended that being ignored by her husband’s mate and being treated as something to get rid off didn’t hurt. Not because she was bitter over it. After her actions, her petty revenges and rules, she didn’t deserve the opportunity of showing that she was hurt. She understood that in the young vampire’s mind, she wasn’t more than a meddling being that was in the middle of what could be an amazing relationship with his soulmate. But she was the wife, she was the one that shared her husband’s bed at night, even if they couldn’t sleep… And her husband’s soulmate, more than a real relationship, was the type of relationship you had with a dirty affair with a secretary or with someone from the office. In other words, the so-called soulmate was the other woman in this relationship.
Still, she could see how her husband kept falling deeper for his mate. She could see it so clearly, so obviously… and she knew, she knew that the little minx that came into the picture to take her husband away from her arms, also knew that he was starting to win his heart. She saw how he sat on his lap sometimes, pouring him a glass of warm blood. All taken from his favourite animal. She saw how her husband’s soulmate talked warmly about their kids, even if he hadn’t met them yet. She saw how her husband’s eyes gleamed with soft adoration every time his mate wasn’t looking.
A few months ago she would never think that her husband would come to really love his mate. Hell, a year ago she would never even entertain the idea of her husband leaving her. Now, looking at how her husband seemed to look at his mate like the vampire had put the stars in the sky, like he was the only religion left to believe, the only one who held the truth in his lips. Now, looking at the love this two shared for one another, even if they didn't notice that the other loved him, she wasn't sure that her husband wouldn't leave her if his mate really insisted on it.
Esme wound’t lie. She was fucking scared of being left by her husband because his mate asked it for it while they were making love. At this point, she didn’t have any authority to call it only sex, the soft touches, the kind whispers that they shared while their bodies collided against one another and their hands gripped their stone cold skin. It made her feel like what he had with her was only sex. She barely remembered the last time Carlisle had said her name with such devotion, with such care. She couldn't even remember how it felt to be made love slowly and passionately. She knew that her husband's mate didn't have that problem.
She also knew that her husband understood that he was starting to love his mate more than something instinctual and carnal, as soon as her husband started to pull away from his mate… and some rotten part of her, enjoyed watching the expression of pure disappointment and hurt that appeared on his mate’s face.
And I can easily understand
How you could easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me
Jolene
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him just because you can
Still, the satisfaction didn't last for long. The burn of guilt took her heart almost completely when she saw how her husband started to make dumb mistakes in favour of showing her that he loved her. The sadness, that first had appeared for his mate and then moved to herself, went back to appearing only when she saw the poor vampire tied by fate to her husband. After all, there wasn't a more horrible view than the one made by a creature losing what innocence it had left.
She saw his efforts, his work for becoming better. She saw how much he tried. How he slowly became more and more quiet. The once charming and hopeful vampire had turned into something small, delicate and so pitiful, ike a small mouse trying to not drawn attention to itself, with fear of being thrown out…
And yes, she had to admit (now with shame) that at first she was happy to have her husband's attention back. She enjoyed the feeling of being made love to. She bathed in the soft words, the caresses and whispers. She felt like a winner the first night her husband's mate only received a quick fuck after a long day and then how her husband made sure to show her the love and care that he didn't show his mate. She enjoyed how the soft cuddling and blood drinking in the couch that her husband and his mate shared started to become less and less, until her husband stood up from the couch and went to her if she showed that she needed him. She was winning in the fight were the love of her husband was the major prize and she wasn't above making dirty moves or act more fair and weak than what was possible for her to keep winning.
That was, until she heard him.
Until she heard how her own actions were contributions to the suffering of a soul that even if wasn't kind to her, truly loved her husband. Until she heard sobs and whimpers that wouldn't produce tears. Until she heard the pleadings of a poor creature tied to someone that had made his chore to ignore him and hurt him in any way possible.
She knew that her husband wasn't cruel, not intentionally.
She knew that, but hearing how broken his mate sounded while asking him to stay at least one night in his bed, while asking him to at least hug him like before and hearing her husband say that hugs and cuddles weren't part of the deal that they made at the beginning, it left her feeling cold (even if it wasn't really possible). Hearing her beloved Carlisle act so coldly and stern with the gift that destiny had given him in their lonely existence, it made him almost unrecognisable in her eyes and ears.
She knew that she was to blame for her husband's reaction, not completely, but she couldn't shake the blame after having played the game and used dirty tricks to win it.  She didn't control her husband, but she knew he was a man of honour and her acting like a poor housewife, acting a bit sad and heartbroken by his actions, was what pushed him to remember his vows and to pull away from his mate. Mate that was now suffering from being rejected without really being given a real existence of this sick relationship that they were trying to maintain.
After all, it wasn't like her husband's mate and her loved each other. They were barely together and when they were, they acted civil at best. Their relationship was more like the ones forming part of a harem and fighting for the king's attention, willing to stab the other in the back just to look like the prettiest one in front of their master. It was sick and actually depressing.
It was with that, with seeing herself in the mirror for the first time, that she understood how her actions and her husband’s stupidity and blindness at his own mate's feelings were breaking a bond that was supposed to be sacred. Carlisle's mate was pulling away from him, asking for less and less of his time, asking for less of everything. Almost like he was wasting away… and Esme…
Esme felt that she was the only one in this house noticing how much suffering this poor creature was going through. It was like her husband had turned into a blind man, seeing what he wanted to see, acting like a stern father and a disapproving figure every time his mate asked for his time, asking for a bit of attention, for anything that Carlisle would be willing to give him… and Carlisle…
Carlisle would give him crumbs of it. Carlisle would provide him with attention until he saw Esme passing by and he would drop everything to go to her. Yes, at first it made her happy but after seeing the hurt and suffering they were provoking, she wanted Carlisle to realise that he was making a huge mistake. Still, Carlisle wouldn't see. Carlisle would leave his mate to help Esme with some simple grocery bags that had cleaning products easy to carry around. He would leave his mate in the middle of a conversation just because Esme wanted to reach for something on a shelf. He would tell his mate that he was acting spoiled or entitled when he wasn't his real partner or the one he chose for himself… With those words, Esme questioned if her husband wasn't cruel. Maybe he was.
You could have your choice of men
But I could never love again
He's the only one for me
Jolene
I had to have this talk with you
My happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do
Jolene
Everything reached a point where she couldn't take it anymore when Carlisle rejected his mate's idea of a trip together. Only the two of them… and it wasn't fair. It wasn't fair at all. Carlisle and Esme always went on trips alone, they travelled the world together and left the man's mate alone in their house without a call or anything. They went around, saw their children, acted like a happy family and then went back to their little cottage far from the world, and the little mate was there. Waiting like a dog that was so trusting of his owner that he knew that he would come back. But even dogs can have resentments and even pets can run away if they feel that they aren't loved.
What's worse. Carlisle's words. His words were thrown so carelessly towards his mate, calling him childish, selfish and other things that Esme didn't want to even think of. How could he be so blind? Was it on purpose? He wanted to hurt his mate so he wouldn't love him? There was no way… after all, even when they were in bed together, Carlisle still commented about something that his mate had said or done… and he still looked so proud when talking about his mate's achievements… So, why? Why did he work so hard in making his mate feel unwanted?
Esme couldn't take it anymore. So as soon as they started their trip to see their children she decided to stop and talk with him. She yelled. She screamed in his face for his cruelty and the pain that they were putting his mate through. She even punched his chest and asked if he was the cruel and blind man that couldn't see when someone so precious was suffering. Then, she asked for a break. For a break of being together. A break from all the fighting for his attention. She confessed her actions like a sinner in front of a catholic father and told him of the things she heard and saw in his mate's eyes. She confessed how her actions, even if they came from a place of fear of being abandoned, were as cruel as his words and own actions… and Carlisle, her adored husband, broke down.
She never saw him so weak, so painfully distressed. It made her want to turn away and push him towards his mate, to pull him by the arm until he could hug his mate and beg for forgiveness. But they couldn't. They needed to see their children. They needed to compose themselves and pretend that everything was fine so they could have two days with them. Still, her husband looked so small. Carlisle was acting like a child having his heart broken for the first time and that was so painful to watch. Still, he promised to be better. He promised to accept what she was asking and to do right by his mate. He swore that he would start to make things right as soon as they were back in their cottage and that he would give his mate the love he had been hiding. He also promised to be better for her, but Esme didn't want that. Carlisle had been good to her, always… and that was the problem.
So, when the two days passed and they were back in their cottage, Esme took a deep breath to feel the smell of her husband's mate… and came with nothing. Carlisle had run to his mate's room as soon as they arrived, wanting to get on his knees and ask for forgiveness, to ask for a change to make things right and to prove that he loved him… but came down with nothing more than a picture of him and his mate together.
Esme, in the meantime, had turned to her side, a little shiny thing catching her attention and looked at the gorgeous ring that Carlisle had given his mate when he was falling for him and didn't even notice that he was. She hadn't seen it in a long time, always hidden under the young vampire clothes, like a little treasure. Under it, there was a letter. Surprisingly, it was addressed to her.
"Dear Esme,
I have to write this letter to you because I know you're the one who understands how much he means to me...
I would beg you to please don't take my man… but we both know that he was never mine, to begin with.
Please take care of him, because we know that even if I wished I could… I can't take him from your arms.
Goodbye, Carlisle, I really hope that you aren't the only one for me, but right now, I don't feel like I will ever be able to love again.
(Y/N)"

Masterlist | The Cullens Series
Tumblr media
Summary: Vincent Black Rothschild was born on June 15th, 1989 to a wonderful family. They were not only well-off but also kind and generous. Vincent grew up with plenty of love. As Vincent grew each day so did the roughness in which he played, this resulted in plenty of hospital visits. This was how the family eventually became acquainted with Dr. Carlisle Cullen. In 1997 only a year after meeting Carlisle a group of newborn vampires terrorized the Rothschild home, luckily enough Alice had a vision; though this did not save Vincent B. Rothschilds' parents it did save him. In the end Carlisle being a compassionate man he is, he decided he would not leave the child in the hands of a foster system, this resulted with him adopting the child to become one of his own. The other members in the coven did not agree with this and told him it was dangerous, warning him of the possible outcomes. Instead of agreeing with his coven family he headed their warnings and invited the child with open arms; Esme soon followed.

Just us - Three
(Felix Volturi x reader)
Tumblr media
I‘ve decided to write this into a whole series, because this story has been on my mind for a while now. The parts are going to be published slowly, it always takes me awhile, but as I said before they all have a mostly ‚closed‘ ending so it’s still satisfying to read. Feedback is always greatly appreciated!

Description: Bella invites you to her wedding and it unfolds a whole lot of alterations.
2734 words
“Oh my god, no way!”, you squealed into your phone, making Bella utter a small ‘ouch’. A few weeks after Felix came back from dealing with the newborn army in Forks, you decided to call Bella while taking a walk around the courtyard, but what you really didn’t expect her to tell you is that she’s engaged. “Yeah I can’t really believe it myself, I just wanted to tell you before the invitation arrived”, she told you in her usual calm voice. “I can’t wait honestly, I’m so happy for you! Do you already have a date?”, you asked excitedly, sitting down on a bench and enjoying the sun. “Yeah we decided on August 13th and will hold the ceremony in the Cullens garden. Do you think you’ll be able to come though?”, Bella asked sounding kinda anxious. “I think I gotta ask, but I mean why not? Everyone still thinks I have an internship here so why shouldn’t I be able to visit. Someone probably has to come with me though, do you think I can bring Felix?”, you asked thoughtful, considering all the possible outcomes bringing him could have.
“Yeah, yeah we already talked about that and decided that’s fine, he just needs to hunt somewhere else”, Bella confirmed and you could hear someone with a male voice say something to her. “Sorry (Y/N) I gotta go, there’s so much to plan you wouldn’t believe it. Anyway, will you let me know if you’re coming?”, Bella asked and you could hear her moving around. “Yeah sure I’ll let you know! Love you”, you answered and after a ‘love you’ from her you hung up the phone. Looking at the clock on top of the tower you saw that it’d be only two more hours until Felix was done with his duty today and you really couldn’t wait to ask him to go with you.
You stayed out in the courtyard enjoying the sunset, but with the dark starting to settle in, there were also more vampires walking around the courtyard. They didn’t get damaged by the sun, but a lot of them - especially the newer ones - didn’t like walking around in the courtyard in Italys summer heat. And even though they were under strict orders not to touch you, you also knew that the control vampires had over their thirst could be easily lost, even by the smallest triggers. You just had to think of Bellas Birthday last year and your feet moved a little faster in the direction of your chambers.
When you made it back and closed the door you released a breath you didn’t know you were holding, but when you turned around you already had the next heart attack incoming, because Felix was standing right behind you. “God, I told you not to do that!”, you complained pressing your hand to your racing heart. “Sorry mia cara, I didn’t mean to, I was just about to go searching for you”, he laughed and picked you up effortlessly so that you hooked your feet behind his back and your hand behind his neck. “I thought I’d make it back before you”, you hummed and pressed a content kiss to his cold lips. “The trial was over faster than we thought, so I rushed back to you, my love”, he smirked and sat you both down on the couch.
“I have some very big news”, you smiled with a giggle making his eyebrows raise in wonder. “Really? Something big happened in the last six hours we didn’t see each other?”, Felix grinned and looks at you. “Yes, Bella called and guess what she told me”, you excitedly changed your position to sitting on your knees. “She finally realized Edward is a failure and broke it off?”, Felix teased you and you playfully hit his chest, not to hard though (remembering what Bella told you about the time she hit Jacob). “No! The exact opposite actually, they’re getting married next month!”, you finally told him, smiling excitedly. His eyes widened and you were kind of proud of yourself for actually being able to surprise the millennia old vampire. “He really got her to agree, huh?”, Felix asked, referring to the time you told him about Edward only being willing to try having sex with Bella if they’d get married.
“Don’t say it like that, you make it sound like he’s forcing her to the altar in chains”, you giggled, “Bella was just worried about people thinking he knocked her up.” That made Felix let out a laugh: “This century is strange.” “Whatsoever, they invited us to come, so…?”, you came to the question you’ve been wanting to ask, hoping he’d say yes. “Really? Mhm…I would have to correspond with the masters, but if they agree I don’t see why not”, he reluctantly answered, making a joyful smile spread across your face. “Will you ask tomorrow?”, you pressed on, scooting closer to him, his hand laying down on your upper thigh.
“Yes, sure I will”, he smiled at how happy you were for your cousin. Simultaneously it made him wonder if you had ever thought about getting married, specifically getting married to him. That thought lingered in his mind, even after you pulled him in a hug and staying close after pulling away. “What is it?”, you asked scanning his face. He let out a huff, always amazed by how easily you could read him. “Nothing, nothing don’t worry”, he tried to shoot down your attempts to find out what was bothering him. No matter how much he loved you, he was scared of overwhelming you by talking about marriage (even though it was something he definitely wanted someday, with you). “I can see something’s wrong love, why won’t you tell me? Is it something bad, did something happen?”, he could see you were getting anxious and he could hear your heartbeat speeding up. “No, no amore it’s not that”, he tried to calm you down, “I…I was just wondering if you had ever thought about getting married.”
You were surprised to be honest, but in retrospect you could have anticipated it. He was very old fashioned and getting married was really important back in his time and with all this marriage talk, why wouldn’t it come up. „Yeah of course, why?“, you wondered, studying his face. „And what are your thoughts on marriage?“, he seemed to be carefully considering what he said, as if not trying to deter you. „Uhm I guess I always thought I would marry one day, committing to one another like that seems romantic. Nothing big though“, was this leading where you thought it was?
„Mhm“, Felix was lost in thought. Ever since being a vampire he didn’t really think about human traditions like marriage, but he knew that back when he was human these values were very important to him (eventhough he didn’t remember much from his former life). So the thought of marrying you appealed to him greatly, making his mate his the human way, he liked that thought.
——————————
„Congrats Bella! I’m so happy for you, you look gorgeous by the way“, you hugged your cousin after you finally got your hands on her at the reception, there were so many people that wanted to congratulate the happy couple. „Thank you, I’m so happy you made it“, she smiled at you, Edward and Felix only standing behind each of you, neither saying anything.
Shortly after that interaction you were pushed aside by the next guests that wanted to get to the couple, so you and Felix made your way over to your seats. You didn’t arrive there though, because a slightly familiar voice interrupted you. „(Y/N) is that you?“, Mike Newton pulled you into a hug before you could react. He was your classmate in highschool, but you always got an odd vibe from him.
„Who would have thought we would see you again? Heard you finished high school in Italy?“, he asked, and you felt Felix hand slide around your waist. „Yeah I did, it’s amazing over there“, you smiled, trying to cut this conversation short. But you were too quick to hope, because now Angela, Jessica and Eric were walking up to you.
„Wow, would you look at that“, Jessica smiled at you, but you could tell she was unhappy that Mike didn’t pay attention to her. Nothing ever changes in Forks, doesn’t it. „It’s nice to see you again (Y/N)“, Angela smiled, and you smiled back, her being the only one of the pack you ever truly liked. „And who might that be?“, Jessica asked curiously, pointing at Felix behind you who had been quiet until now.
„My name is Felix, I’m her partner“, Felix told them with his voice a little deeper than normal and his arm tightened around your waist. „Wow, maybe I should visit Italy if all men look like that“, Jessica laughed, but before the situation became to uncomfortable Alice swooped in and saved the day. „Excuse me, I need to whisk these two away from you for now“, she giggled and lead you away.
„Thanks for saving us Alice“, you laughed when you were out of earshot. „No worries, I know how they can get, you looked really uncomfortable“, she smiled and left you to your own devices again.
You finally settled in your seats, Felix immediately sliding closer with his chair, gripping your thigh with his strong hand. „If that human ever touches you again, he will be my dinner“, he grumbled making you pat his hand. No need to mention that - going by his smirk - Felix noticed right away that his possessive display of jealousy kind of turned you on.
—————————
You have been back in Volterra for almost a week when Felix approached you with an uncertain look on his face after he came back from his guard duty. You were sitting on the couch with your favorite book, and when you noticed his apprehension you put it away to give him your full attention.
„What is it?“, you were concerned, he rarely was unsure about anything. „Am I that easy to read?“, he chuckled and sat next to you, immediately pulling you into his side and giving you a soft kiss. „Only for me“, you grinned and gave him another kiss, before pulling back a little to like at him expectingly.
„I asked Aro for some time off“, he started to tell you what was on his mind, surprising you with the nature of it. „Time off? What for?“, you wondered and took his big cold hand that was playing with the hem of the blanket in yours, trying to give him comfort.
„I though maybe we could…I mean you told me how great you thought the honeymoon Bella and Edward are on is, and I figured even if we didn’t get married we could still get out of here for a while“, he came clean and you were stunned for a second. He surprised you again and again, who would’ve thought he is so thoughtful and sweet. God, you were so in love.
„Just us two?“, you breathed, excited at the prospect of having some real alone time with him. „Yes, if you’re comfortable with it I mean, if you don’t want to that’s-“, you interrupted him immediately, not wanting to entertain any insecurities. „Of course I want to, honestly that sound amazing“, you smiled and laced your hands behind his neck.
„Great“, he seemed to lose all his tension, sinking into your embrace and resting his chin on your head. „Where to were you thinking?“, you asked curiously, thinking about all the possibilities you had. All of the places that were really touristy or populated would probably not be in the race.
„The Volturi have several isolated properties around the world, believe it or not sometimes we do like to travel“, he chuckled, pulling you a little tighter against him, „we could use the one on an island in the Mediterranean Sea or there’s a cabin in the mountains in Switzerland.“ Humming you considered your options, you’ve never really liked beach vacations in the first place and autumn was approaching anyway, so you were leaning towards the mountains.
„Switzerland sounds nice“, you sighed closing your eyes, the affection and proximity of your mate always giving you comfort. Felix grumbled in agreement, and you were already wondering if maybe up in the mountains in a cozy cabin, Felix would feel safe enough to try - sleeping with you that is.
————————
You had left for the cabin the following evening, taking a small private plane and then a car from the airport. You had to travel throughout the night, because it was safe for Felix not to be spotted. When you arrived at the cabin you were in awe. It was really high up, there was snow as far as you could see. Pine trees were all around, only a small, at least a mile long, dirt path marking the way from the street to the cabin.
After Felix had carried your luggage inside, you two spent most of the day lounging around and just enjoying the calm and quiet for now. At some point you had to get up to make yourself dinner though, Felix keeping you company by sitting at the small kitchen island while you were cooking. In the evening you were laying on the couch together, the fireplace keeping you warm and cozy, while Felix was holding you close.
„You know, there’s something I’ve been meaning to do all day“, Felix broke the comfortable silence and sat you both up slowly. You could feel him taking a shaky breath, making you wonder what was happening as he didn’t need to breath after all. You turned around to look at him, the spacious couch allowing you to sit cross-legged and hold his hands still.
„This isn’t as big and pompous as it could be, and I sincerely hope that I know you well enough to be right about you preferring this the small way“, he cleared his throat and you could feel your heart pick up its pace, „I still remember the moment I met your eyes for the first time like it was yesterday, and how I realized that after millennia of being alone in this world I wouldn’t have to be anymore. My love for you is so profound, endless and unconditional and no superficial human tradition could ever capture the lengths I would go for you, but I still want to make you mine in every possible way.“
Your heart was beating so hard the blood was rushing in your ears. He let go of one of your hands and pulled something out of his pant pocket, your mind already making the connection before you fully realize what’s happening. There in his hands is a beautiful but simple ring, and your free hand started shaking, covering your mouth in shock.
„So eventhough there’s no one here to officiate anything, I still want to ask you to marry me right here, right now, just the two of us“, he finished and you were left speechless. Of all the things you were expecting to happen here, this was the last thing you were prepared for.
Not quite finding your voice yet you nodded repeatedly, and some of the tension left your mates body and he smiled. „I need to hear you say it, mia cara“, he smiled lovingly and waited patiently for you to gather yourself. Taking a deep breath you removed the hand from your mouth. „Yes“, you answered with a small voice, „yes of course I’ll marry you.“
Pure unfiltered joy broke out across Felix face. He softly lifted your hand a little, slipping the ring onto your finger. You couldn’t hold back anymore, falling into his arms and burying your head in his neck. „I love you so, so much Felix. This is perfect“, you whispered, knowing he would hear you with his vampire ears and you could feel him pull you in even tighter.
You pulled back a little and he took your face into his hand, softly meeting your lips with his. You still being human meant you had to pull back sooner than you would’ve liked, still needing to breathe. „So this is a honeymoon“, you giggled, Felix just chuckling before pulling you close again.

Lucky them, vampires didn't need to sleep. Unlucky them, vampires couldn't sleep.
For the past two weeks, everyone just wanted to drown themselves in a peaceful slumber only to wake up and realize that the threat was only a bad dream and they were actually okay. Jacob, Seth and Leah had the luxury to sleep but once they would wake up, the hard reality would catch up on them and they were forced to watch over their friend.
Yes once again, there was a protection details for Bella once again. And everyone was either tired or annoyed about it. Leah and Rosalie were annoyed about the protection detail, sure they were somewhat 'friends' with Bella, but honestly Leah was there because she didn't have any other choice and Rosalie was more attached to Renesmee than Bella. The rest were tired. Everyone did try to hide it but it was pretty obvious. This family couldn't get a break. At Least not until the threat was gone.
"So you can't see anything ?" Leah asked with a scoff and Jasper tightened his hold against his wife.
"I've tried okay ? But all I see is a blank space. I can't see them or whatever their plan is. I've tried !" Alice argued back as the family was once again reunited in the living room.
"But we can't just have a protection detail, right ?" Seth innocently asked from his seat beside Esme, who sent him a motherly smile.
"No, we need to add a protection force. We can ask Sam's pack for help." Edward butted in and if Rosalie wasn't outside playing with Resentment Renesmee and Jacob, she would have rolled her eyes.
Of course Edward was only thinking about Bella's safety. But could you blame him ? She was his wife and he loved her more than anything. And as selfish as it sounds, the mind reader was ready to put anyone's life on line if it was to ensure Bella's well being and safety. He did it when the two nomads vampires hunted them, he did it when he forced everyone to leave Forks only to left them once they were out of the city, he did it when the newborn army was against Bella and he did it when the Volturi threatened to kill his family. And by his family, I was only talking about Renesmee and Bella.
But could you really blame him ? It was admirable ! A man boy, willing to risk's all his loved one's life for his true love ! Please take in consideration that Bella was only his singer and not his mate. See that ? He was so deeply in love with the main character that he was willing to do anything for her.
But anyways, Edward Anthony Masen-Cullen was only the main lead of the love triangle for the main character so let's not go deeper into the subject yeah ?
Bella felt like she was a burden. I mean she was but the main character is never a burden. But it wasn't her fault if people were revengeful ! All she ever wanted was to live a happy immortal after-life with her vampire god-like husband, her hybrid super rare child and her husband's super rich family. She was the victim here.
As I was saying, Bella felt like she was a burden and all she wanted was for everything to stop and go back to the way it used to be. Obviously not what it used to be before she met the Cullens, but like, you see the past year that passed without the Volturi or a rogue vampire wanting to kill her was actually nice.
"I'm so sorry guys. I really don't know who it could be…" Bella muttered.
"They're alone against all of us anyways." Emmett smirked, clearly thrilled by the feeling of being in a dangerous situation.
"Emmett, this is a serious matter." Edward scolded with a glare and his brother rose his hand in surrender.
"And I was serious too, relax dude." The buff vampire replied yet the tension in the room stayed so thick that you could cut it with a knife and Jasper's power was almost useless.
"We need to be ready for any eventuality." Carlisle announced and everyone agreed, feeling a strange and uneasy shiver run down their spines.
Tumblr media
Rosalie, Jacob and Renesmee were all hanging out in the forest. The Cullen's territory was safe for now and if they felt any threat, they needed to go back home immediately, not that Renesmee would know anyways. Right now they were simply enjoying the fresh air outside of the suffocating windows of the Cullen's three story house and talking. Well, Rosalie and Jacob weren't really talking to each other you know, mostly talking to their favorite child.
"Aunt Rosalie, do you think that we'll catch them ?" Renesmee asked and the blond vampire sent her a comforting smile.
"Of course we will. They will not hurt any of us, don't worry." The Goddess-like vampire replied and Jacob rubbed his fluffy head against Renesmee's side, agreeing with Rosalie for once.
"Well then, you'll have to catch me !" Renesmee started to run away and the two grown up exchanged a look before running after her.
They were unlucky though, Renesmee inherited her father's speed. I would say the little girl was lucky to have inherited her father's speed, but when an immortal child was after you and equally as fast as you while your family was too far away to protect you, I wouldn't exactly say I was lucky.
Smelling the unfamiliar scent of lavender and wet-grass around them, Jacob and Rosalie immediately tried to go faster while Jacob howled, alerting the members of his pack. The two adults chased after Renesmee, missing the shadow passing them through the trees as they couldn't even see the hybrid in front of them.
"Renesmee slow down !" Rosalie called in panic.
Hearing her aunt's worried tone, Renesmee turned around swiftly, but what she didn't expect was to see a hooded figure only a few inches away from her with their red eyes glowing.
"I would stay quiet if I were you." The voice was childish yet there was some kind of venom and dangerous aura in them that made Renesmee stunned in fear.
Not far away from them, echoed the call of Rosalie, soon followed by the rest of the Cullens while the shifters were all in their wolf form causing the hooded figure to smirk before putting a hand on Renesmee's mouth.
"Let's go dear." They muttered and suddenly the clearing was empty, as if they never were there in the first place.
Reaching the clearing, everyone's expression fell as they found it empty. The only thing they could find was a letter gently laid on the ground and Bella took, her hands trembling at the thought of what probably happened and her heart fell, as well as everyone else's, as she rode the words of the letter out loud.
"'I told you to keep an eye open Bells. The woods aren't for games'."

“So that’s it then? You’re just going to roll over and let that dog have him?” Irina accosted Tanya back in her room, not bothering to keep her voice low for their guest that slumbered just down the hallway.
Tanya envied the girl for not just having Edward but also for being able to escape reality with sleep. Sleep was something Tanya dearly missed although she couldn’t remember what it felt like to be vulnerable in unconsciousness.
Her fingers rub at her eyes. “What do you want me to do, Irina? Edward has made it clear many times that he doesn’t want me. I’m exhausted of this. Let him have a mate that will drag him into danger. That seems to be what he wants.”
Like a caged animal, Irina paces back and forth further vexing her adoptive sister. “The audacity of him bringing that thing here. . . Our natural enemy. . . I don’t understand what’s going through the Cullen’s heads. Do they really desire the wrath of the Volturi? it’s like they don’t remember what happened to Sasha and Vasilii?”
“Enough Irina!!” Tanya exclaimed, startling the other. “It’s done with. I get the hint. I finally get the hint.” Her voice cracked but Tanya ignored it. “At least a wolf is better than a human. At least she’s from our world and won’t be easily killed.”
Irina’s red lips sneer. “You’re spineless.”
Already exhausted, Tanya snapped at her. “Get out of my room.”
She does so but not before slamming Tanya’s bedroom door to the point that the doorframe splintered.
Tanya sighed, finally allowing herself to sit down on her rarely used bed. Irina just made her mood even worse. But. . . Releasing Edward took a heavy weight off of her shoulders. Something she didn’t know she’d been carrying around for all these years. Maybe it was the fact that she’d never been denied by a man before. Not even other male vampires turned away from her advances. Edward though had always been a different story.
She wouldn’t lie if anyone pointed out that it hurt her pride. That and how could she not fall for someone like him? He was chivalrous, a real gentleman. Somehow through all the horror he’d been through, Edward still maintained the gentleness of a human soul. Incredibly rare among vampires, it was all the more endearing to Tanya. She could see a future with him. A mate to call her own. Edward never thought of her like that though.
Her eyes burned viciously with tears she could no longer produce. This was a long time coming but it was still painful. Especially having to see them together shy as they find footing in their new relationship. In that aspect, Tanya would admit that they were cute together in an odd way which made her feel even worse.
She'd never seen Edward like that after decades of knowing him. He was always calm and collected and annoyingly stoic at times. That flash of anger he'd shown her was alarming as was his helplessness toward the situations facing him. Her own life hadn't gone quite as planned. A young Tanya would have never guessed that she would be turned into an immortal creature that survived off of the blood of others. Life was funny that way. Even after being turned there were surprise twists that caught her off guard like Sasha breaking one of the Volturi's most important rules: not turning children. They still had no answer as to why Sasha would doom herself like that. She'd known it was illegal and the penalty was death. Not just her death but the destruction of the newborn she had created so flippantly. The scene forever clear in Tanya's memory banks. She still remembered the red eyes of Dimitri, Felix and Marcus. How after the execution of Sasha, the went after the immortal child Vasili. He especially would not be spared even if he was guiltless. By the law of nature he especially shouldn't exist. Even among vampires, turning children was considered an abominable act.
Edward was no exception to the game of fate.
Neither was that wolf girl.
**
Your sleep was fitful at best since you found it difficult to even relax enough to fall asleep. The predator in you would not be lulled, not when it smells adversaries in the same living space as you. Both human and wolf were somewhat grateful when the sun finally began to stream through the window curtains. You wouldn't have to keep forcing yourself into a sleep that was alluding you.
The electric clock that was on the nightstand told you that you had only been asleep for a handful of hours.
Brain already alert, you start washing up and attempting to look presentable. You were brushing out your hair when you smelled it: pancakes. A loud gurgle rips from your stomach and you can't remember the last time you ate. It must've been when Edward had stopped for gas and you got down to get some road snacks. Even that impromptu meal consisted of food that lacked nutrition.
Delectably tempting, you allow your nose to lead you outside of the guest room you’d occupied and into the hallway.
The second level of the grand Denali house was large to accommodate all of its occupants. Halls in the shape of a giant ‘L’ shape. Guest room was at the far end, closest to the staircase. Much like the outside of the cabin, the inside was fashioned with dark woods.
You turn when you hear someone making their way up the steps. Edward stops halfway up and smiles at you. “How did you sleep?”
Hating that exhilarating shyness his smile reduced you to, there was nothing you could do about the grin that spread across your lips. You lie and assure him you were well rested. Acting the part was easy for you considering adrenaline was pumping through you from the very moment Edward pulled the car into the long driveway that led to their hidden home.
“Kate’s made you some breakfast.” Edward gestures with his head downstairs.
As if in a reply, your stomach lets out a whiney growl.
Edward full heartedly laughs. You follow him down and into the kitchen.
Seeing a vampire doing simple domestic things was an odd scene to stumble upon. Kate was just setting down a plate with three perfectly shaped pancakes. Did they happen to have ingredients for pancakes or were they bought specifically for your visit? There was no reason for a vampire to have human food in their pantries and fridge. From what you knew about the Cullens, you knew their cooking appliances were simply for show.
Tanya has her back pressed against the fridge, watching her sister until you and Edward walk in.
”Good morning, (y/n).” Kate looks up at you with a pleasant smile. “Edward, we would like to speak to (y/n) privately.”
Worriedly he glances at you. You nod confidently and shoo him off with your hand.
Reluctantly he leaves you with them.
“Thank you for breakfast. I appreciate but you really didn’t have to.” You take the chair where the plate had been set in front of. Internally you were scolding the hairs on your neck that were stick straight up. The scent of unfamiliar vampires really did a number on you. You felt the smallest of tremors run along your spine.
“It was no trouble at all.” Kate waves you off and takes the seat across from you. Tanya stays put where she is but turns her body toward where you and Kate are sitting. “Despite all that’s happened with your pack and Laurent, we want you to feel welcomed. Edward and all of the Cullens have been are greatest friends for years.”
“Which leads me to apologize for how I came out you.” Tanya begrudgingly tells you. “You’re here on a mission of diplomacy and have done nothing but be polite.”
A moment was required to observe her and see if she really meant it. Tanya held your gaze in complete earnest.
“Thank you. I understand your apprehension though. As for Irina. . . I would say my pack regret killing Laurent, but we were just doing our job in protecting the humans of Forks.”
Tanya shook her head. “Laurent didn’t even stay with us for that long. Personally, I was never attached to him.”
“He spent enough time here to enarmor Irina.” Kate points out. “You and your pack were in the right. He was acting upon aggression.”
Pushing off the fridge, Tanya goes over to the table. “You have to understand something about the three of us though. The Volturi killed the woman who created us because she broke a tenant law. We all watched her head be wrenched from her shoulders. When they find out about Bella and Edward, they will come. The punishment will be most severe when they discover the wolves.”
“I’ve been told it’s not wise to get on the Volturi’s bad side.” You nod and put your first forkful of pancake into your mouth. Your tastebuds celebrate. “From what I understand though, is that the wolves the Volturi hunted centuries ago are different from us. At least that’s what the Cullens and Sam have decided.”
“They will not care of your origins. Only that you are natural born vampire killers. You existence still poses a threat to them.” Tanya grimaces. “And Irina. . . Well, we’re concerned what Irina might do behind our backs. We only hold so much influence over her. We fear that out of spite she may alert the Volturi herself about you.”
Kate says in acknowledgment “She’s always been the most stubborn in her convictions. We really do want to support you and the Cullens. They’ve helped us numerous times. It would be nice to return the favor.”
“Kate and I talked it over last night. We’ll do our best to change Irina’s mind but if she does end up going to the Volturi. . .” Tanya flinches at her own words, not wanting to speak them aloud. She didn’t want to entertain the idea of punishing her sister.
“We’ll figure it out if it comes to that.” Kate places her hand over Tanya’s and gives it a squeeze. They were as much of a family as the Cullens, you realize. Her placating hand was indeed enough to comfort Tanya for she smiles gratefully and nods. “And when the time comes to fend off the Volturi, we will be by your side.”
There was an overwhelming wave of relief that had you wanting to cry and laugh at the same time. No words could be found to express the depths of your gratitude. A few more allies added to your roster.
After breakfast there was still no sign of Irina but Eleazar informs you and Edward that Carmen was out in the woods with her to have a heart to heart discussion.
You and Edward would be returning to Forks the same day. Your adrenaline may have diminished after your talk with Kate and Tanya but you still missed home and longed to return to your furs. Even going a day and a half without transforming made your human skin itch. You’d have to ask Sam if that was normal and if he experienced anything similar.
To pass the time, Edward and Eleazar show you to outside their house and the natural beauty of Alaska. When the house was being built, they made sure to have it so hardly any trees would be knocked down. They wanted the house to be as immersed in the natural backdrop as possible.
Summer heat warms your skin, crisp air almost singe your lungs. You ran your fingers over the coarse bark of towering trees and close your eyes to listen to the regional birds sing. Even better was Edward next to you right in the sunlight. The skin of both he and Eleazar were illuminated by the sun’s light. Certain angles gave them the affect of glittering even.
Eleazar caught you staring, he smiles and explains the unique qualities of vampire skin. Their diamond-like skin reflected sunlight prismatically. There was still so much you were learning about vampires.
Another hour was spent just enjoying the outdoors. You climbed trees to get a better view, amazed by how fast Edward and Eleazar could scale them. Getting to the top was quite the experience. The sky above was the most gorgeous shade of blue with whisp of clouds dotted here and there.
Carmen was waiting for the three of you in the backyard. She smiles at the exhilaration that had been on your face prior to spotting her. “Did you guys have fun?”
Edward, at the mention of how they spent the afternoon, smiles. “Yeah. Really fun. Irina?”
She sighs and leans against the outdoor furniture. “I’ve settled her down but she needs more time. Right now she’s just grieving what they could have been had Laurent not been killed. There’s not many opportunities for finding a mate living here. Even before we joined them, they hadn’t encountered many male vampires that weren’t complete jerks.”
You guess since not many vampires congregate together that not all would be lucky like Carmen and Eleazar.
“We’ll keep a close eye on her though.” She says with a hopeful smile.
“Thank you, Carmen.” You and Edward accidentally say at the same time. Her laugh is so soothing that you don’t even feel embarrassed.
She actually embraces you tightly. “Both of you should get going, but I’m so happy that you were able to come (y/n).”
“Me too.”

WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN (A)
(PART TWO (A) OF THE OTHER WOMAN (“SO I CAN HAVE YOU BACK” SERIES))
⚠️WARNING⚠️: I mean… not really, maybe some violence because vampires need to eat and that… I guess sadness and long-ass descriptions also count?
A/N: I'm back, bitches... love you all. Will post other updates sooner than later, I promise... Also... are we starting to look at a "The Boy Is Mine" type of situation...?
PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3 - PART 4
Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same When our friends talk about you, all it does is just tear me down 'Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name
You could feel your lungs burning while you moved, the bodies around you were jumping and dancing like there was no tomorrow. You could hear their heartbeats and the way they smelled made you understand how horny they were. Fucking humans are so simple, so predictable. Every time you saw them you knew that they were thinking of money, sex, or anything related to greed and themselves. Maybe in the past, you would say that vampires were different, but after knowing love and realising that you would never have it, you understood that those simple emotions that humanity had were only amplified when someone turned into a vampire. So you had no hope whatsoever.
A couple of guys were eyeing you while they talked about themselves. You smiled in their direction while approaching them. You knew they were wishing to get one thing and one thing only… You also desired one thing, but that was totally different from what they wanted. Still, before you were able to approach them like you were planning to do you felt a hand grabbing your arm.
If it was a normal human you would be able to pull yourself free without any type of effort but as soon as you tried you noticed how the grab was as hard as iron, almost crushing your skin with rough but almost perfect fingers. You looked at your side and noticed how golden irises were looking at you.
“Who…?” You started to ask while looking at the brunette vampire with a confused expression on your face, red eyes trying to find any sign of recognition. You tried to ignore the fact that he looked quite shocked by your appearance. After all, you didn’t really know him so it wasn’t like it would matter in a few moments.
“Look, I know they are jerks and probably deserve a good punishment but you can’t do that…” He started while looking at you with worry in his eyes. Still, behind that worry, you could see the clear judgement of someone who believed to be better than you.
You smiled while looking at him with a condescending smile, “Well, I’m quite sure that whatever I was planning to do, isn’t really your business.”
Since it was clear that this being wasn’t a normal human, you decided to use your strength to pull your arm away from his grip. Thanks to the fact that you had started to drink human blood after a couple of months of leaving Clarisse, you were a bit stronger than the other vampire. Maybe not having your mate around was quite good for you, you lied to yourself like you didn’t whimper and sob into your pillow every morning and day while you pretended to sleep and pretended that knowing that he didn’t care about you didn’t hurt like hell.
“It is my business if the mate of my father is thinking of feeding by using some humans…” The brunette said while looking at you, grabbing your arm again and pulling you close so he could move you to a corner of the club.
“So you are Edward…” Now that you have been looking at him for a few seconds, it was quite evident. If you had to be honest, even at the beginning of your interaction with him, it wasn’t so hard to make the connections.
The other vampire talked about your mate, and when you were with Carlisle… when you thought that you weren’t a burden and something to be put on with, he talked about his children, about different details of them and how they were one of the best things in his life. Of course, since you heard that and you thought that he was going to introduce you at some point (spoiler alert, he didn’t), you made sure of learning everything. So every little detail of them, of their hobbies, of the things they liked or disliked, all of it was stored in a little part of your brain that at some point was dedicated to the idea of being like a parent figure for them. Of course, after a while of being told that it was too soon to be introduced to the children, that part of you started to crumble and die, just like your own hopes of being loved.
“How did you…?” Edward said but then winced while touching his head, looking quite surprised when he saw you.
“I guess you are asking yourself why can’t you read my mind…” You made a pause while noticing how he was confused by your words. “It’s useless, you won’t be able to do it… unless I want you to do it…” You explained while looking at the other vampire's eyes. At this point, you guessed you had to thank the world for your gift.
After all, you were like a mirror, and since there were different types of mirrors, your gift worked the same way, changing depending on what you wanted to do with the other vampire's special feature. Right now you were working like a normal mirror, making sure that Edward could only see his own thoughts if he tried to concentrate his gift on your mind. Going against the other vampire’s gift made you a little bit tired, especially since you didn’t have to do that when you were with Carlisle, but thanks to your new family, you were able to practice more with your gift and achieve that the tiresome feeling wouldn’t be too strong nor last too long.
“Didn’t your father teach you that you can’t do that? You need to respect people’s private matters…” You crossed your arms while looking at the brunette with a strong expression on your face. In return, Edward looked at you with confusion written all over his face.
“It isn’t like I can control it… it just happens…” He made a pause. “That doesn’t matter now… what matters is that you come with me” Edward looked almost like a man on a mission. Sadly, he was no man, and certainly, he wasn’t on a mission. If only he thought about how it made you feel, how hurtful and horrible it was to have him in front of you. To even think about how you could have met him a few months ago, to have a real relationship of friendship or even mentorship with him. After all, your gifts could work quite nicely together.
“Yeah, well… that won’t happen, kiddo…” You let out a sigh, even if you didn’t need to breathe, it just… helped you feel more centred, calm and alert. You wanted to be alert, and pay attention to everything. After all, even if you knew that you were stronger than Edward, you had no idea of what was he going to do just so he could take you with him. “I can’t really go with the Cullens now, after all… a Volturi won’t leave the guard unless is absolutely necessary… and a social visit isn’t what our kings could consider important.”
It all just sounds like ooh, ooh, ooh, hoo Mm, too young, too dumb to realize That I should have bought you flowers And held your hand Should have gave you all my hours When I had the chance Take you to every party 'cause all you wanted to do was dance Now my baby's dancing But she's dancing with another man
How could you explain this? It wasn’t like someone was going to ask you questions about your motives but still, how?
When you arrived at the Volturi castle, you didn’t expect the welcoming feeling that filled your chest. After all, you’d never been there before, so it didn’t make any sense for you to feel something like family or anything similar. Still, it did. It was almost like you were meant to be there. It almost felt like being in this castle and meeting the vampires inside was something that you were born to do at some point. It was confusing and unexpected, but you weren’t against it. God knew -if there was a God somewhere since unlike Carlisle and most of his family, the idea of God and the whole omnipresence of him wasn’t so obvious to you- that you needed the warm feeling that was surrounding you at that moment.
In the most normal pace you could follow, avoiding standing out from all the humans around you, you walked inside the castle with the rest of the tourists that were going to be part of the tour that always ended up in a nice meal. Of course, they didn’t know that they were the meal but, you couldn’t bring yourself to be sorry for them. After all, it wasn’t like the humans you met before felt sorry for you or even some type of sympathy. The only thing that made you stop for a bit before resuming your walk was the fact that some tourists had children with them, and seeing the small people walking around, looking at everything with sweet innocent eyes and just enjoying what was going to be their last experience on earth, well, the picture was heartbreaking. You didn’t really wish for children, which was convenient since you knew you would never have them, but still, you didn’t hate them. Children, unlike adults, were innocent souls in the middle of the hate and filth that their parents throw around to anything that was weaker than them. Children were forgiving and loving, so the idea of them dying at the hands of your peers, even if you knew that it was a necessary evil since there couldn’t be any witnesses… Well, it was painful for your heart.  Still, you didn’t plan to stop the kings nor defy them, after all, you were just a visitor trying to find somewhere that would want you by their side.
As soon as you got closer to the throne room a woman in heels and looking quite nervous approached you. She was clearly human, the smell was so clear that it was almost painful. Still, you decided to follow her game and let her talk, pretending that her words mattered something to you. Then you decided to take off your sunglasses, looking for a reaction, just for curiosity. Well, you got one, she went instantly quiet, looking scared before starting to apologise to you. Your red eyes, which could be considered a new development after leaving your mate and his wife, followed her actions while noticing how some guards were walking towards you. You lifted your hands a little bit, showing that you weren’t coming to their house to cause any problems.
One of the guards, the smaller of the two that were approaching you decided to grab you by the shoulder while pulling you closer to a chamber close to the throne room. Considering that you were the invader in their home, you decided to follow their lead, accepting their rough way of handling your body. This didn’t mean that you were happy with it, but you weren’t willing to cause any type of trouble, especially since you were going to request something quite big from your kings.
A few hours passed, the smell of blood making you notice that they were almost done with the feeding time. You looked at your nails, before turning towards the door. It wasn’t going to be too soon, but you knew that after cleaning, the guards that showed you this room were going to come back and walk you to another room where you would be able to talk with the kings. You leaned against the window in the room and when you saw the gorgeous sunset, you couldn’t help but let out a sigh. It wasn’t because you were out of breath. After all, you didn’t even breathe. But the sunset made you think of the afternoons in Carlisle’s arms. The soft and almost caring caresses that he provided your body.
You were about to open the window but the sound of the door opening made you look at it. The two guards from before were walking towards you, but behind them, there was another guard. He was tall, head full of black hair that looked quite soft and fluffy. He had the typical perfection of a vampire, but unlike most of your kind, he looked warm, and if you dared, even caring. He seemed to be maybe 35, but you knew better than that. A strong jawline and wide shoulders. He felt like a greek god. Your eyes couldn’t help but follow him. He looked at you, almost in a trance while following your features and before any of you could stop it, the two of you were touching your faces.
“Who…?” You started but felt that you couldn’t even finish the question. How could you? Carlisle was supposed to be the one for you, the only one for you… But suddenly you were looking at this vampire and you were seeing how he actually saw you. You felt so precious and loved and this wasn’t far from what you were planning to ask your kings but at the same time you weren’t sure if you were ready for it to happen at the exact second you arrived in Volterra. You wanted to be taken into their home, maybe as a minor guard for some months before making your request and trying to find another vampire willing to bond with you, just to fill the void that you knew Chelsea would create when she decided to lose the bond between you and Carlisle. But now, you were there, in their home and thrown in front of a vampire that seemed to share a bond with you, a bond that made your mate bond seem weak and even useless.
“I don’t…” The vampire touching you said, and you couldn’t help but shiver, not because of him, but because your brain seemed to go hardwire at the same exact second he spoke to you. His voice, deep, rich, touched your skin and it felt like the golden silk that your father had brought when you were human, touch so delicate and caring as if you were the most precious jewel in the world.
“Nikolas, we have to go with the kings” One of the guards guided you to the room where you were at the moment interrupted. If you were fair, it seemed that he didn’t want to interrupt the whole meeting, but at the same time, you knew that they had a job. So when Nikolas -you were going to save his name for later, wanting to feel it roll off your tongue and see his reaction to it- started to growl with anger, you grabbed his hand and just, looked at his eyes.
“He’s right… I asked for a meeting with them… I won’t make them wait for more than what is necessary” You said and then nodded towards the two guards. “We’ll follow you now, thank you for coming for me” At your words, they looked a bit surprised but then nodded, turning around and starting to walk towards -you supposed- the throne room.  Nikolas didn’t walk behind you like he was supposed to but by your side. The whole walk, he was looking at you with so much attention, almost as if he was trying to memorise your features.
Demetri and Felix -who seemed to be together more often than not, from what you learned along their names on the way to the throne room- stood up in front of the doors and knocked a couple of times before looking at you briefly. It was like they were asking you if you were ready to meet your kings, but you were, this was the reason you came here, to be accepted, loved and if they were willing to give you the gift, to be free from the pain of being trapped in a bond with an unwilling partner gave you.
My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, oh And that haunts me every time I close my eyes

The night was cool, and the moon hung low in the sky, casting eerie shadows through the dense forest. (Y/N) moved silently through the trees, her senses sharp and keen. As a vampire, hunting was a necessity, and she had grown skilled at it over the centuries. Her crimson eyes scanned the darkness, searching for the telltale signs of prey.
But tonight, her thoughts were not solely focused on the hunt. She couldn't shake the unease that had settled in her chest since earlier in the evening. Leo, her vampire lover, had been acting strangely lately, distant and secretive. She couldn't pinpoint the source of his change in behavior, but it gnawed at her.
Eventually, (Y/N)'s hunt proved successful, and she returned to the secluded cabin she shared with Leo. She pushed through the creaky wooden door, her senses still on high alert. The scent of another woman hung heavily in the air, a scent she recognized all too well.
As she stepped further into the dimly lit cabin, her heart pounded in her chest. There, in their shared bedroom, she found Leo entangled with another woman, their bodies pressed together in an intimate embrace. (Y/N)'s voice trembled as she whispered his name, her world crumbling around her.
"Leo..."
Leo pulled away from the other woman, his eyes widening in shock as he turned to face (Y/N). Guilt etched across his features, but there was something else there, something sinister.
"(Y/N), I can explain," he stammered, but she couldn't bear to hear his excuses.
Tears welled up in her crimson eyes as she confronted him. "I trusted you, Leo. I thought we were mates, bound for eternity."
Leo's gaze shifted away from hers, and a cruel smile played at his lips. "Ah, yes, about that," he said, his voice dripping with deceit. "You see, I used my ability to force those thoughts into your mind. We were never true mates, (Y/N)."
Her heart shattered as Leo's confession hung in the air. All this time, she had believed in their love, in their eternal bond, and it had all been a lie. The tears spilled down her pale cheeks as she realized the depth of his betrayal.
"You're lying," she whispered, her voice trembling. "Why, Leo? Why would you do this to me?"
Leo's smile widened, his true nature revealed. "Because, my dear (Y/N), I grew tired of you. It was time for a change, a new companion."
Her world collapsed around her, and she turned away from him, unable to bear the sight of the vampire she had thought was her mate. In that moment, she felt utterly alone, her heartache too much to bear.
Without another word, she fled the cabin, her mind consumed by despair and a newfound determination. She had lost everything, even the belief in her true mate. With nothing left to live for, she made a fateful decision.
She would seek out the Volturi, the ancient vampire council, and ask for the ultimate release from her immortal existence. For (Y/N) believed that without a true mate, her eternity was meaningless, and she would rather face the cold embrace of death than live with the agony of betrayal.
The grand halls of the Volturi castle were as imposing as the legends suggested. (Y/N) stood before the towering doors, her heart heavy with despair, as she awaited her audience with the three vampire kings. She had traveled a long, lonely journey to reach this point, and now she could only hope that they would grant her request for death.
Finally, the massive doors creaked open, revealing the regal figures of Aro, Caius, and Marcus, the rulers of the Volturi. (Y/N) stepped inside, her eyes locking onto Aro's penetrating gaze. She felt vulnerable and exposed under his scrutiny, but there was no turning back now.
"I have come to seek an audience," she said, her voice steady but laced with desperation.
Aro, his eyes gleaming with curiosity, gestured for her to approach. "Of course, my dear. What brings you to our doorstep?"
(Y/N) took a deep breath, her resolve firm, as she spoke her darkest desire. "I seek death, my lords. Please, end my immortal existence."
The three kings exchanged glances, and Caius, with a trace of disdain, remarked, "And why should we grant such a request? You have committed no crimes worthy of death."
Desperation clawed at her, and (Y/N) explained, "I have exposed our kind to humans. I led them to our presence before hunting them. I have brought shame upon our kind."
Aro's eyes lit up with intrigue as he leaned in closer. "Tell us more, my dear. How did you expose us?"
With a heavy heart, (Y/N) recounted the events that had transpired with Leo, the man she had believed to be her mate. She told of how they had shown themselves to humans before feeding on them, their reckless actions endangering the secrecy of the vampire world.
Aro listened intently, and when she finished, he spoke, "Indeed, this is a grave transgression. However, my dear, it is not you who killed those humans, but your mate. By our laws, you are not directly responsible."
(Y/N)'s hope dwindled as Aro continued, "And as for your request for death, we cannot grant it. Your actions, while reckless, do not warrant such a punishment."
Tears welled up in her crimson eyes, and she looked down, defeated. "Then what am I to do? I cannot bear the weight of my existence any longer."
It was Marcus who had remained silent throughout the exchange, his thoughtful gaze fixed on (Y/N). Suddenly, he spoke, his voice barely more than a whisper, "Aro, there is something I see."
Aro turned to Marcus, his interest piqued. "What do you see, my brother?"
Marcus gestured towards (Y/N), and his eyes met Aro's with a knowing look. "I see a bond forming, a connection between her and us, Aro."
Aro's eyes widened with realization, and he nodded slowly. "You are right, Marcus. There is an unseen bond, a unique connection between us."
(Y/N) was bewildered, unable to comprehend what they were discussing. "What are you talking about?"
Aro smiled, though it held a hint of mystery. "My dear, we have decided not to grant your request for death, but we will not tell you why. There is something about you, a connection that has intrigued us. You may stay with us, and we shall monitor this bond closely."
Confusion and uncertainty swirled within (Y/N), but she had little choice but to accept their decision. She had come seeking an end to her existence, and now she was tethered to the enigmatic Volturi kings, with a destiny she could not fathom.
As (Y/N) resigned herself to her fate, the bond between herself, Aro, Caius, and Marcus continued to strengthen, its purpose shrouded in secrecy and uncertainty, a mystery that would reshape her eternity in ways she could never have imagined.
Days turned into weeks within the chambers the Volturi had granted (Y/N). She had become a ghost of her former self, plagued by the weight of her existence and the enigmatic bond she shared with Aro, Caius, and Marcus. She couldn't understand why they kept her around, why they refused to grant her the death she so desperately craved.
Depression had settled in her heart like a never-ending storm, chaining her to the dark solitude of her chambers. She had little reason to venture beyond those walls, for her existence had become a relentless torment.
One gloomy evening, (Y/N) made a decision that would shatter the fragile status quo. She slipped out of her chambers and into the dimly lit corridors of the Volturi castle. Her crimson eyes, devoid of hope, glistened with tears as she walked towards the imposing front gates. She intended to reveal herself to the world, to expose her vampire nature, and force the Volturi's hand to end her suffering.
As she stepped into the moonlight just beyond the castle's entrance, a cold, iron grip seized her by the arm. Before she could react, Caius had her pinned to the castle wall with inhuman strength. Marcus and Aro appeared swiftly, their expressions a mix of concern and curiosity.
Aro's voice carried a tone of confusion as he asked, "My dear (Y/N), why would you do such a thing?"
Tears streamed down her face as she choked out the painful truth. "I wished for you to have a crime to kill me for. To end this misery."
Marcus, usually serene and detached, grew serious. "You must not endanger yourself like that again."
"Why?" (Y/N) cried out in despair. "What is the point of keeping me here, torturing me with this existence?"
Caius, his voice harsh and unforgiving, finally spoke, "Because we are mates."
(Y/N) froze, her mind struggling to process the words. "What...what do you mean?"
Aro, always the one to explain, took a step forward. "When you first came to us seeking death, Marcus saw a bond forming between the four of us. A connection that defies explanation. That is why we keep you here."
Tears welled up in her crimson eyes once more, but this time it was disbelief that washed over her. "It's another mind trick, isn't it? A way to keep me here, to torment me further."
Marcus's voice held an uncharacteristic warmth as he assured her, "No, (Y/N), it is not a trick. We may not fully understand it ourselves, but this bond is real. We are connected, and that is why we cannot let you go."
Aro continued, "We believe that this bond serves a purpose, one that we are meant to discover together."
Overwhelmed by conflicting emotions, (Y/N) struggled to accept this revelation. She had come seeking an end to her existence, only to discover that her destiny was inexplicably tied to the enigmatic Volturi kings. As they surrounded her, their faces filled with a strange mixture of determination and compassion, she couldn't help but wonder what awaited them all in this unforeseen journey of their immortal lives.
Centuries had passed since (Y/N) had discovered her inexplicable bond with the Volturi kings, Aro, Caius, and Marcus. Their unique connection had grown stronger with time, forging a sense of unity that transcended the boundaries of conventional vampire relationships. Yet, one desire continued to linger in (Y/N)'s immortal heart—a longing for a family of their own.
However, the cruel irony of their existence was that vampires could not procreate, and so (Y/N) had resigned herself to the reality that they would never have children. It was a source of sorrow that cast a shadow over their otherwise harmonious existence.
But the Volturi kings were not ones to accept defeat easily. Their power and influence extended far and wide, and they were well aware of the extraordinary circumstances that had allowed Edward and Bella Cullen to conceive a child. It was a vampire-human hybrid, a rarity that defied nature itself.
One moonless night, the three kings convened in their chambers, their minds focused on a daring plan that could grant (Y/N)'s deepest wish. They had watched humans for months, identifying three women who lived on the fringes of society, with no family or loved ones to speak of.
Aro, his eyes gleaming with ambition, explained their audacious plan. "We shall offer these women unimaginable riches and comfort in exchange for their cooperation in carrying our children."
Caius, ever the pragmatist, added, "They mustn’t know that this childbirth will claim their lives. They will bear vampire-human hybrid children, a feat that defies nature and carries a heavy price."
Marcus, the most reserved of the trio, nodded in agreement. "As long as we must ensure that (Y/N)'s dream of a family is fulfilled."
With their plan firmly in place, the Volturi kings set out to find the three chosen women. They were drawn from the darkness of the streets with promises of wealth and luxury, but with full disclosure of the mortal peril that awaited them.
The women, each facing their own desperate circumstances, agreed to the pact. For them, the lure of riches and a comfortable life was too tempting to resist, even if the circumstances were unnatural.
As the months passed, (Y/N) watched over the three women, their bellies growing with the unnatural life they carried within them. The bond between her and the Volturi kings deepened, as they shared the anticipation of their unconventional family's arrival.
The day of the births arrived, and the Volturi kings were present, their power ensuring a safe and painless delivery for the women. Yet, as the first cry of a hybrid infant echoed through the room, a solemn truth hung in the air—the women had fulfilled their part of the bargain, but their mortal lives had come to an end.
As the women's life forces faded, their final breaths marked the beginning of a new chapter for (Y/N) and the Volturi kings. They had achieved the impossible, a family that defied the laws of nature itself.
The moon hung high in the night sky, casting a soft glow over the chambers where (Y/N) and her three children, Hades, Rosemary, and Juliet, were gathered. It was a nightly ritual, a moment of connection and comfort as they settled in for a bedtime story.
Hades, with his ebony hair and piercing red eyes like his father Caius, nestled close to his mother. Rosemary, her dark hair cascading in waves like Marcus, and Juliet, with Aro's striking features, eagerly awaited their mother's story. They had always wondered why they looked different from their beloved mother.
(Y/N) smiled down at her inquisitive children and began her tale. "Once upon a time, my dear children, your fathers and I longed for a family, just like this one. But, you see, I am a vampire, and vampires cannot have children."
Hades, Rosemary, and Juliet exchanged curious glances, their young minds eager for the story to unfold.
"We knew we needed help from something greater than ourselves," (Y/N) continued, "so we asked the gods above for a miracle. The gods listened to our plea and decided to create you, my precious triplets."
The children's eyes widened with wonder, and Hades asked, "How did the gods make us, Mother?"
"They sculpted you from clay, molding each of you with care," (Y/N) explained. "They gave you looks that matched your fathers, so you would carry their essence within you."
Rosemary, her gift resembling Marcus's but with a unique twist, interjected, "Does that mean that our other sibling will look like you then someday, Mother?"
(Y/N) blinked in confusion, not aware of any such plans. "Another sibling? I'm not sure what you mean, my dear."
Hades, with his unusual ability to grant wishes, smiled warmly. "I wished for a sibling, Mother. I know I am not suppose to use my abilities but I couldn’t help it mama.”
Understanding dawned on (Y/N)'s face as she placed her hand over her stomach, a mixture of surprise and joy washing over her. "You wished for a sibling?"
The children nodded enthusiastically, and Rosemary added, "And the gods listened, just like they did for us."
A wave of emotion overcame (Y/N) as she realized the profound love and unity that bound her unique family together. She had longed for a family, and now, through a combination of divine intervention and her children's wishes, she was about to experience the joy of motherhood once more.
With a radiant smile, she whispered, "Yes, my darlings, it seems you will have another sibling soon, and this time, it will be a gift from your brother Hades and the gods who watch over us."
As (Y/N) tucked her three children into their beds, their hearts filled with excitement and anticipation for the arrival of a new member of their extraordinary family. The gods had indeed smiled upon them, bestowing them with a love that transcended the boundaries of existence.
(Y/N) gathered her three mates after three days of avoiding them. Aro, Caius, and Marcus, in their private chambers to share the astonishing news. The air was heavy with tension and curiosity as she began to speak.
"I have something incredible to tell you all," she began, her voice filled with awe. "Hades, our dear son, used his unique ability to make a wish."
The three Volturi kings exchanged puzzled glances. "A wish?" Aro inquired, intrigued.
(Y/N) nodded, her eyes shining with pride. "Yes, he wished for a sibling, a brother or sister to join our family."
Caius raised an eyebrow, skepticism in his gaze. "But, my love, we are vampires. We cannot conceive children."
A mischievous smile played on (Y/N)'s lips. "That's the remarkable part. Unlike a regular pregnancy, I have come to find out that I had only been pregnant for three days."
Aro's eyes widened with astonishment, and Marcus, usually the most reserved of the trio, leaned forward in anticipation. "Three days? How is that even possible?"
(Y/N) explained, "Just as our transformation into vampires takes three days, this pregnancy was swift, almost like a supernatural event. And now, I have given birth to our newest addition."
With that, she unveiled a small bundle in her arms, revealing a beautiful baby boy with the softest, snow-white hair any of them had ever seen. His pure appearance was a stark contrast to the vampiric features of his siblings.
Caius, Marcus, and Aro stared in awe at the newborn, their initial skepticism giving way to profound wonder and love. The bond that connected them all was as strong as ever, and they welcomed the newest member of their unique family with open hearts.
Hades, who had been waiting anxiously outside the chambers, entered and joined his mothers, his eyes filled with pride. "I wished for his existence, so I get to pick his name right?”
His three fathers exchanged amused glances and nodded in agreement. "Very well, Hades," Aro said, "What shall we name him?"
Hades grinned and announced proudly, "I name him 'Sunny,' because he brings light to our lives, and he's different from all of us, like a ray of sunshine."
The name 'Sunny' was met with smiles and nods of approval, and they all took turns cradling the precious newborn in their arms. Sunny's arrival had defied all expectations, but he was a cherished addition to their family, a symbol of the love and unity that bound them together.
In the days that followed, Hades proudly introduced his new baby brother to Rosemary and Juliet, who showered Sunny with affection and adoration. The Volturi castle echoed with the laughter and joy of their growing family, as they reveled in the miracle of Sunny's existence.
For (Y/N) and her mates, their family was like no other in the vampire world—a testament to the extraordinary bonds of love, sacrifice, and the unexpected miracles that could unfold even in their immortal lives.

All Signs Point To You
Fandom: Twilight Pairing: Jacob Black x Male!Reader Summary: Jacob is a smitten wolf, he likes it despite the teasing Word Count: 1,028 Request: Can I get a baker male reader x Jacob who finds out his mate is the best baker of Folks and so goes there every day to flirt with him? Despite always head-butting with Edward who accompanies Bella during her visit to the bakery
Tumblr media
"You're hopeless," Seth says to his Alpha, who responds to the jab with an eye roll.
"Leave him alone, Seth," Leah piped up, before smirking, "He's in love!"
It's been a few weeks since the standoff between the Cullens and co against the Volturi, Jacob's new pack has an unspoken bond with the Cullens now, though, there was still tension between the two groups - both unfamiliar with the concept of sharing the land. Both groups still being wary of each other, these were bonds that were unfamiliar to them.
Though, mostly the shapeshifters stay in La Push, where they are most comfortable. Everyone was settling into this new dynamic, Leah was finally heard and was satisfied with her position as second in command. Embry, Seth and Quil were more happier to be in this new pack than to stay with Sam's pack. The new pack was slowly getting bigger as it was a race between Sam and Jacob to find new shapeshifters in the forest.
But, as the Uley pack were making rounds in the La Push border, it wasn't enough room for both packs to roam. So, Jacob's pack made an agreement that they would make rounds on Cullen's side of the creek, where they were to keep an eye out for new vampires lurking or scouting new members for the pack.
Whilst going out on the Fork side to provide lunch for the wolves who were making their rounds, Jacob stumbles across his mate. It was a mere second, really, he was about to enter the bakery, which was known to be the best in the state, but when he looks through the window his eyes met yours.
The bakery boy, who was taking out new dishes in the display cabinet. His heart started racing before diverting his path to a different place. He came back to the pack obviously sweating and in a panic.
"Who are we talking about?" Embry asked, entering their base, and placing a bag of food onto the table for the pack.
"Jacob's mate," Quil sings, as Jacob glares at him whilst Seth snickers.
"Ah," Embry nods understanding, "The bakery boy he doesn't shut up about."
"I don't talk about him that much!" Jacob defended himself only to be met with several stares of doubt, "Okay, maybe I do, but I don't know what to do."
"I don't know, maybe talk to him?"
Leah raised her eyebrow at him, before pointing to the door. Whilst, he was the alpha of the pack, he knew that Leah was right and there was no point in trying to argue with her. So, he sighs before departing to talk to you.
Tumblr media
After talking to you, he just constantly wanted to be around you. To any outsider, it was because you were just a fascinating person to know, but Jacob knew better and he knows it's the fact that you're his mate - bonded for life.
But, he didn't want to freak you out, make you think he's some stalker or some obsessive creep. But, can't help but just gravitate back to you, and you can also feel the same. You were just drawn to him, you were interested in knowing him.
Your days brighten when he comes through the shop doors, and you smile to yourself when you start thinking about him. Suddenly, you start becoming giddy, coming into work, thinking there's a chance that Jacob might come in.
You wanted to know him, be with him, and you were growing feelings for him - you were becoming helpless.
"You're awfully around a lot in this area," Edward says, there was a tease within his voice as Jacob cannot help but glare, "Does the bakery in La Push gives you food poisoning?"
"Shut up," Jacob replies as Bella rolls her eyes, "Anyway, why are you going to the bakery, you don't have any tastebuds?"
"I'm friends with (Y/n)," Bella chimed up, before shrugging her shoulders, "I like visiting my friends outside all you lot, you guys give me a headache."
She walks in as Jacob looked confused as Edward only chuckles to himself, sighing that he was so lucky to have Bella. Edward goes in to follow his wife as Jacob looked torn to go in. He wanted to keep you as his little secret from the Cullens for a little longer, so he sighs and tries again a few hours later.
"Hey, I saw you outside before, why didn't you come in?"
Jacob flushed red, scratching the back of his head, "Oh, I'm not a big fan of Edward."
"Edward?" You tilted your head with your eyebrows knitted together before clicking your tongue, "Ah, Bella's husband, I can't believe she didn't invite me to the wedding!"
"I didn't know you were friends with her."
"Same goes for you," You answered back with a pointed look as Jacob looked defeated before smiling back at you.
"Childhood friend," he responded coolly, as you nodded in acknowledgement, "So, what's on today's special?"
You grinned at him as you started to talk to him about everything and anything, despite being a busy shop with locals and tourists visiting you always spare a few minutes to talk to Jacob. He gratefully pays for his stuff, making sure he tips you and only you, before leaving the bakery with a satisfying feeling.
Jacob was smitten, he knew that, and he knows that his pack was going to tease him relentlessly, but he didn't care. He found someone, he enjoyed your company so he didn't care what type of relationship this would bloom into. He craved your company, your voice and your presence.
All signs point to you, he can sense the future to be brighter with you by his side.
Whilst, he's not ready to tell you the full truth, he's mustering up the courage to ask you to hang out with him outside the shop. Somewhere it was just you two and no eyes are watching. He wants to know the famous bakery boy with a pretty smile.
There's a jump in his step as well in his heart and he smiles to himself.
All signs point to you.

So I realized halfway through that you ment on the run from the Voltouri. And I was tempted to start over but I wanted to finish this version. If you still want a kid on the run from the Voltouri then feel free to send another one in just with different powers and a different character.
Seth didn’t expect to imprint on a vampire. Least of all you. You were four years old but looked eight. Seth flinched at Edward’s curious look,Alice was grinning like a madwoman, Rose’s eye was twitching, Emmett had the biggest shit eating grin in the history of shit eating grins, Bella was confused as all hell, Carlisle was trying to restore order to the gathering of wolves and vampires, Esme was sending motherly smiles to Seth and you. And Jasper was close to a mental breakdown from all the conflicting  emotions coming from the group assembled.
Paul and Jared were rolling over, laughing which was a strange sight to see two giant wolves laughing and rolling on the ground. Sam, God bless the poor guy, was trying to restore order with Carlisle while trying to keep the headache away, but given the fact he’d be the one to tell the elders and consul members he wasn’t having much luck. Quill was doing victory laps as he wasn’t the only one to imprint on a kid anymore. Jacob was Glaring back at Rosalie to protect his brother and by God Jake wouldn't  let anyone hurt his little brother, blood or not. Leah was plotting how to kill you and every way you could imagine. Embry was glaring and growling at Leah. Who would want to kill a child because their little brother imprinted on said child? Even if that child was a half vampire.
But, we need to back up. We need to examine just how you joined the Cullen family. It’s a sad tale. Your father was a kind vampire. He only fed on willing humans. He was almost as notable as Carlisle but your father stayed off the Volturi’s radar. He was smart, he didn’t want any unwanted attention. Your mother was the exact opposite. She was loud, outgoing and hard to ignore. She was also a woman who appreciated a good drink. This is how your parents met.
Your mother was spending yet another of her nights at her favorite bar when your father walked in. Your father was not a man to sleep around as he was from the eighteenth century but your mother had the arua about her, it also didn’t help that she was wearing a very form fitting dress that showed her curves off and she wasn’t shy about showing her legs either. Given the time your father was raised everything about the way your mother presented himself should have had him running for the hills. Key word: Should’ve. But there was this pull that kept drawing your father to this woman. Soon your father was sitting next to the woman in the revealing dress and soon they got to talking and soon they found themselves in your fathers apartment and soon, well, You don’t need to know what happened after that. Oh don’t worry! You’ll find out once you're old enough for the Birds and the bees talk.
The next morning saw your mother leave your father in his bed without so much as a ‘thank you’. Your mother found out she was pregnant with you about a month after that. She tried to have an abortion but your father showed up to stop her. It’s not that he didn’t believe that abortion was wrong but this was probally his only chance to have a child and it was the thing he wanted most in the world. Your mother agreed on the condition that afterwards she was to have nothing to do with your upbringing. She was a woman who wanted to enjoy her twenties but a child would hinder that. Nine months later saw you coming into the world and your after could not be happier. It was a dream of his to have a child. Your father wanted to be exactly that since before cars were a thing. The moment you were in your fathers arms he swore to protect you till his head was knocked off his shoulders and he was nothing but ashes. Unfortunately that fate met your father sooner than anyone would have preferred.
It was shortly before your second birthday but you already looked like you were three. Your father knew what to expect when it came to your growth and development. It saddened him that you would grow up fast but he knew there was nothing to be done. It was one Hell of a stormy night when there was a knock on the door. You were already asleep so you didn’t get to meet the group of three vampires that visited, James, Victoria and Laurent. You didn’t hear the fight between your father and the other vampires. You knew what a vampire was and you knew you were a half vampire. You didn’t hear the breaking of your father’s neck nor did you smell the burning of his body outside the house. You wouldn’t find out the truth for a year or two.
What you did know was the lady with the red hair said she and the rest of her coven would take care of you after they couldn’t save your father. You didn’t know their true intentions, you didn’t know that Victoria just wanted wanted a slave, you didn’t know that James would give his mate whatever she so disiured, and you sure as hell didn’t know that Laurent was an unwilling partner. In the two years since your kidnapping/enslavement you were beaten every witch way. You were forced to drink from humans and you hated it. It was just before James and the others went to Washington state when you discovered your magic. You weren’t there when James and the others encountered the Cullens. Your abuse got worse when Victoria came back. You had massive scars by the time Victoria sent you and Laurent to kill Bella, though you didn’t know that was the mission. You simply thought that you and Laurent were stopping by forks for a quick hunt on the way to Alaska to join Laurent's new coven.
When it became clear why you were brought along you were disappointed. But Laurent kept a firm grip on your shoulder and led you to the poor girl. You knew that Victoria wanted to get revenge for James’ death but you didn’t think she’d go after the girl who James tried to kill. Most vampires would go for the one that killed their mate. You were brought along to kill Bella from a distance should the girl put up a fight you weren’t going to do that. You weren’t going to kill a girl who was an innocent bystander. Laurent had Bella pinned down and you were about to intervene when howls reached your ears and you forze. Your father had told you stories about the shifters and you, while scared of them,  you knew they would smell your human side but would be wary of you because you're a hybrid.
You watched with morbid fascination as the wolves tore Laurent to pieces. You were the one to light Laurent on fire with your magic. You heard his cries for you to help and you worried that if Laurent was given time to heal he’d come after you and you might be able to do magic but you knew you wouldn’t be able to defend yourself from a fully grown, full blooded vampire. But, in killing Laurent you brought attention to yourself from the giant wolves. You took a step back. You were terrified, you knew that your short life would end and the sad thing was, you weren't necessarily saddened by the prospect of your death. You stood still as a large, black wolf stepped closer to you. He got closer and closer till you could feel the breath from the wolf’s snout. You closed your eyes and braced for the teeth. But they never came. But, what did come was a wet wolf nose and tongue licking your cheek. You giggled at the touch and you opened your eyes slowly and you saw all the wolves looking at you with looks of love and understanding.
The wolves stayed for a few minutes until the black one nudged you over to Bella. The wolves gave her a look that said ‘we’ll look for a vampire caregiver for him but until we do please look after him’ Bella looked offended but before she could argue the pack was gone. The girl glared at you as you stared at the ground. You weren’t aware of what Bella told Charlie but the man was a lot like your father and he took care of you while Bella was with Jacob. Speaking of the alpha, he thought of you as a little brother and sometimes he’d insist Bella bring you over when the two would hang out. In fact you were with Jacob when Bella was forced off the cliff. When you all arrived back at Bella’s house.
When Alice saw you her motherly instincts kicked in. She adored you even though she couldn’t see your future. But, that was due to your magic. For some reason you went to Italy with Bella and Alice to save edward. Alice only realized half way through the flight that You could be mistaken for an immortal child and that could lead to major trouble. But, Alice figured that if it was explained that you were a hybrid then any future hybrids wouldn’t be harmed. You liked Alice’s driving. It reminded you of your father. Edward heard your thoughts and knew you were the proper child for Alice and Jasper. You stayed close to Alice. You don’t why but you felt safe with her. You were aware of the glares from the Voltouri guards. As you were brought before the kings you wanted disappear.
The one named Aro was the nicest to you. He waited to see your memories to give judgment. “Amazing, Mother magic has blessed a hybrid. This child is no threat and shall be allowed to live and shall be placed in the care of Alice and her husband.” And that was that and the four of you headed home which was when Alice got Edward to promise her a porsche. You giggled at the thought of being in the fast car again.
Jasper was surprised to meet you but he immediately took the role of your father. Carlisle and Esme took to you like a duck to water and dubbed you as their grandchild. You, of course, loved the idea of grandparents. Rosalie was just as motherly to you as Alice although Rose taught you about cars as opposed to fashion. Emmett was your second dad, especially when Jasper had to be away due to emotional overload and blood lust. Emmett was a teddy bear and never had an issue with cuddling you. He also loved teaching you about sports and you loved it when he called you ‘champ’. Edward was the one to teach you about music. He also kept Bella away from you as he knew what happened from your memories.
When you figured out Victoria was coming after both you and Bella you were more afraid than you’ve ever been in your short four year life. You were brought to the training session just because you were the other one Victoria was after. You were the only one allowed to cross the border and each of the wolves gave you an affectionate lick on your cheek. Then you locked eyes with a wolf with brown fur on top and white on his belly. You knew the pack had expanded in the months you had been with the Cullens. But, the second your eyes met you felt a pull, the pull that was the kind that mates experienced. You didn’t know it but Seth was explaining the same but with imprinting. So while the chaos was happening around the two of you Seth approached you slowly with only Edward, Bella, Carlisle and Sam notice. You looked at the wolf with apprehension. You were friends with the wolfpack but you haven't met Seth, Leah or Quill. So, as far as you knew Seth could be the one wolf who would hurt you. But as soon he was close enough Seth nuzzled his giant wolf body into your side and for some reason you petted the fur and the more you did the more you felt at ease. But, you felt the chaos and arguing around you and felt angry when you heard one particular sentence from Rose.
“You know what? It doesn't even matter. Y/N cant even be alone in the forest anymore. They’ll be mates in name only. We just won’t let Y/N be anywhere the mutt.” You turned your head to the blonde vampire with a glare that shocked everyone in the clearing. You were not a very angry child. You were quiet and reserved and made sure to not anger anyone as to keep yourself from being abused but now? No one would keep you from seth. Vampire or Wolf.
“You will NOT keep me from my mate. And if you try then I’ll leave with the wolves right now and never return to forks.” You saw Alice and Jasper as well as Emmett glare at Rose. they’d finally got their wish to be parentes any god help anyone who tried to get in the way of that. “Sam feels the same. No one will keep the two apart and if anyone tries they will have to deal with the elders.” Edward translated for Sam and Leah backed down a bit but she was still pissed. After the initial argument it was decided that the Cullens would be allowed onto the Reservation with a guard of at least four wolves at all times. You were happy that you could see Seth whenever you wanted.
The days until the attack passed by with a lot happening. You and Seth got to know each other. Seth adored you and made sure you had ANYTHING you needed. Animal blood? You got it. The best muffins or cookies ever? You had an open invitation to Emily and Sam’s house. Over the few weeks till the attack of the newborn army it was decided that Edward, Bella, Jacob, Seth and you would head up into the mountains to try and hide and with two wolves your and Bella’s scents would be hidden.
You always Loved the snow. And to be in a tent with just you and Seth was special. It was late at night as you leaned into Seth’s warm chest. You were trying to stay awake but failing horribly. ‘Why not let yourself sleep, bud?” Seth asked as he tried to keep the amusement from his voice. “Cuz, If they attack overnight, I wanna help.” You couldn’t see the smile on Seth’s face but just know it was huge. “Bud, if we're attacked I’ll wake you up. I promise.” Somehow this convinced you and it wasn’t long till you fell asleep. Seth held you tight the entire night.
The next day Everyone was on edge as they waited for the battle to end. The tension between Jacob, Edward and Bella was thick enough to cut it with a knife. You and Seth just wanted this to end. Seth visablay flinched when the battle began. you leaned into his fur knowing any touch from you would calm him. And you would always make seth Feel better. It wasn’t long until Riley and Victoria showed up. It all happened so fast that you didn’t realize what had happened until Victoria had you pinned down. You were scared to die this time because you’d be leaving Seth. And that thought gave you a sense of angger that you never had before.
“I should’ve killed you with your no good father.” The redheaded snarled which angered you even more. You pointed your hand at Victoria’s ribs and your eyes glowed gold as you felt the magic pulsed to your hands. This gave you a confidence that you never had and you smirked huge. “Yeah, you probably should have. Now it’s gonna be the death of you.” The shock on Victoria’s face was the greatest reward ever. You see Edward brace himself behind you two and you used your magic to blast Victoria off of you as Seth ran over to you placing himself in front of you and you could hear Jacob ripping Riley to bits. You sent a smile to Seth as he Lowered himself to the ground for you to ride on his back.
The group of you five headed back to the Cullen house and you smiled as Edward ruffled your hair. “You’re very lucky Seth. Y/N is truly magical.” Edward said with a smirk as You, Jacob and Seth groan. You kissed Seth’s wolf forehead. “Bad pun aside, he’s Right Sethie. You're lucky you imprinted on me and I’m lucky you’re my mate.” You said honestly as Seth managed to lick your cheek and you smiled as you fell asleep on Seth's beck and you knew that you would be safe and loved. And your father smiled down on you from whatever afterlife vampires had. And the Cullens would make sure you grew up into someone your father and Seth would be proud of.

SUMMARY: Though there is nothing funny about meeting your destined mate on the opposite side of the battlefield, you had to admit the irony of him having cherub-like qualities when you were the half-Angel was pretty funny. PAIRINGS: Alec Volturi x Nephlim!Reader, Female!Reader TAGS/WARNINGS: afab!reader ; DeepL generated translations ;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A year ago Heaven fell into chaos; the Archangels battled, the Battalion scattered. And you had landed on Pacific Northwest soil in pursuit of what was decidedly the new last seal.
The thing about being a Nephlim–more powerful than the other Angels but still beneath the Archangels–meant that, for all the power you held, you couldn’t exactly pinpoint where your Father had disposed of the relic.
All you could tell was that it was somewhere in Forks, Washington. The rest, you wrangled from the man himself.
In a moment of panic, the youngest Archangel transferred the magic into a mere stone before he fled. A stone he’d supposedly chucked down to the Earth with only a “faint hum of magic” to differentiate itself from all the other stones that littered the wilderness surrounding the town.
If your Father was known for his mischievousness and tricks, it did not feel like it.
Not when you had to drudge through a thick blanket of snow as you followed a literal whisper of a hum, and certainly not as you stumbled into an open field where, wide-eyed and panicked, a young woman had slashed her wrist open with the exact stone you’d been looking for.
If the magic seeping into her bloodstream wasn’t an indication that your Father’s plan had already failed (effectively making her the new new last seal),  you wanted to laugh hysterically as Shapeshifter and Vampire turned towards you, teeth bared.
Real funny Dad, you thought.
Tumblr media
The young woman was named Bella.
And she held the seal within her blood for only a couple months before it passed on naturally to her daughter, Renesmee.
Between those months, after you’d proven yourself not to be a threat to the Olympic clan and La Push Pack, you couldn’t deny the young woman and her family had endeared themselves to you.
After only ever seeing war amongst your own people, to see Vampiric creatures defy their very nature to live peacefully amongst humans was a beautiful thing.
And now knowing Renesmee’s birth and Bella’s death meant the seal had been passed on and not broken, you’d officially settled in the comely town and accepted your new life as Aunt [Y/N]–Renesmee’s guardian (half) Angel.
Literally.
For the most part, there wasn’t much you needed to do when the little girl was already so fiercely protected by her family and the Pack. But as Renesmee was Bella’s daughter, this easiness didn’t last long when she’d been dangerously misidentified as an immortal child...
Across the long field, a blur of red and black assembled into one unified front as the red coats arrived to pass judgement.
Law enforcers, Edward had cautioned.
Murderers, had hissed the Russians.
The Volturi, you’d come to know.
At the arrival of the infamous group, a sudden and pleasant hum reverberated through your being and a warmth unlike any other licked at the bottom of your spine.
(Near the front, Edward stared ahead, shocked).
It was, admittedly, an odd feeling considering the threat the red coats possessed but now that they were fully assembled, the hum you felt had grown louder and more insistent.
Intrigued, your eyes flitted between each member as your curiosity morphed into anticipation.
Of course, it wasn’t until you passed a petite blonde and met the gaze of the dark-haired male next to her that three things happened in succession:
The hum you’d felt earlier reached a crescendo as it burst from your body, the boy dropped to his knees with a sharp breath and the discussion between Carlisle and the First Volturi King halted as–
“–Sei un sogno che prende vita,” said the boy, unaffected by the shocked silence that blanketed the field in the wake of your power.
“Un sogno che ho aspettato.”
When his stare was the most searing of them all, you wondered for a fleeting moment if was his own realisation about the bond between you that prevented him from turning back to his battalion, his sister and to his Kings or your heavenly essence that so clearly ensnared everyone else.
(When his people fell out of their stupor and the Third King held a hand to the First, still, the boy did not notice and you did not care).
Eyes drifting back to him with his cherub-like beauty and explicit reverence, you were more focused on committing each line of his face to memory as you offered him a small, shy, smile.
“Mi dispiace di avervi fatto aspettare,” you greeted in turn before you cleared your throat. In the corner of your eye, you’d caught a glimpse of bronze curls and wide eyes. Renesmee.
“Continuiamo quando questo è finito?”
