#i believe theyd say khuda hafez purely bc no one fucking said allah hafez until like 10 years ago #khouda hafez is also from farsi and is a shared term with hindu and other south asian religous groups #i think in the 1800s especially in the context of babel and in the context of india being perceived as a wholly hindu country #the secular khouda hafez would be the term #like yeah sure maybe theres an urdu document from 200 years ago that has allah hafiz but literally everyone says khouda hafiz

hiii <3 i can speak english french urdu and punjabi fluently. very limited knowledge in korean and german

#im from montreal which why im fluent in french and english #but then i grew up in punjabi pakistani household so i speak urdu and punjabi too #i just understand korean since ive consumed so much korean media that dont use subs anymore but dont ask me to speak it lmao #im tryna learn german since like 2 years ago but my knowledge in it is very limited #i picked up german bc i was convinced i was gonna move to switzerland one day idk if i will but im manifesting lmfao #also i had taken mandarin classes for one semester back in cegep (quebec equivalent of college/pre university)#but all i remember from that class is how to say and write the characters for ni hao #asks

i am seriously considering studying korean formally bc 1) I already understand like 70% of the dialogue in dramas without subs, so might as well learn how to speak and read while I'm at it 2) I need to be able to understand sooyoung yves's insta stories. that's literally it. I will learn a language (not quite from scratch but... from... Not Much) for my wife

#also i want to be able to read more poetry #i can read poetry in eng fr esp and a bit in urdu (i mainly only speak urdu lol. immigrant problems)#and well. it would be nice to add korean to that list #also putting a hold on mandarin and japanese. one day....#OH and dutch even tho ppl say dutch is useless LOL #z.post
