What About The Kens?
I'm already seeing guys complain about the Barbie movie end, how they wanted Kens to be equal in Barbieland but were only given a small part on the Cabinet.
That's the point.
You're meant to feel bad for the Kens. Believe me, women aren't partying over the 'Returns to Matriarch' ending. Some will be, but the ones who also clocked the meaning behind it won't. Most women will also feel bad for Kens. Because it's an exact parallel to how women are treated in reality.
Men, you're meant to be upset. You're meant to question it. Because you're meant to feel it, and feel what that is like, so you can finally understand women. You're upset at seeing it in a movie, now imagine living it in reality. That's being a woman.
Kens were shit on so you could feel what it was like for women this entire time. Kens were being used as a placement so you could see yourself in a woman's shoes. A world dominated by the opposite sex. When Ken leaves, and sees male presidents (All men) for the first time, men being doctors and lawyers, etc, realising he is more than just a prop for Barbie, that was on purpose. Because that is the feeling that Barbie gave to women. It's why you cheer for him at first before he goes a little overboard.
It's exactly why the real world was an exaggerated Partriarchy and Barbieland an exaggerated Matriarchy. Neither wins. Neither is equal. None of them change for the better. It's why you should want women in the real world to be respected, and Kens in Barbieland to be respected.
The thing is, women also didn't win. Not in the real world. In Barbieland, yes, but not anywhere else. The real world didn't change. But you didn't notice, did you? That Gloria (The mother that helped Barbie) also didn't get a position on the Mattel board? It was still all men? Her idea was ignored until it made a profit, and the men will likely get the credit? She'll still just be the receptionist? The women representing the real world didn't get anymore opportunities, neither did the men in Barbieland.
I was hoping that Gloria would be offered a position on the board, and that the Barbie Cabinet would introduce another entire Cabinet to represent the Kens, but neither happened. They're complete mirrors.
But which one did you actually notice? Which did you actually care about? Now tell me again the ending was unfair. Because it was. For both parties. That's the point.
The difference is, Barbieland is fictional. You will walk out of the theatre with the reassurance that at least it's not real. Women won't. Women can't. Companies not giving women equal opportunities or voices isn't fictional, and that was just one example. There are no women presidents (USA at least) for us to go look at in the real world. We don't have somewhere to go to realise it could be different for us like Ken did. Barbie and make believe is all we had when we were kids, or even now.
You're supposed to be mad, just not at the movie.

Hey! Asking for some writing advice here.
How does one write a villain exactly. In a very simple world with no superpowers and stuff how do you give them motivation. How do you make them slowly descent into villainy. Somehow when the villain actually thinks they're doing the right thing until the very end?
Thx love
There are a few different questions here that I'm going to try to to unpick.
I'll start with a brief overview of the connections between protagonist + antagonist, just because recognising them can be really useful in shaping your own ideas. Then I'll dive into motivation. So.
Antagonist + Protagonist = CONFLICT
If you know your protagonist well, then you have all the ingredients you need to write a great villain/antagonist for them too. Here is why.
Your villain/antagonist is, at the most basic fundamental starting point, something that is between your protagonist and what the protagonist wants/needs. As a very simple example, if your protagonist wants to make sure that everyone is free, then your antagonist is going to in some way be involved with making sure they are not free. Once you know what your antagonist needs to do in a story, then it's a lot easier to pose the question to yourself of 'okay, why would someone do that?'
Villains often reflect an opposite or warped view of the values and motivations that your protagonist has. They mirror or foil your main character. So, your antagonist's motivation will often be either opposite to the protagonist (e.g, your protagonist is motivated by selflessness, so your antagonist is motivated by selfishness in some way) or they will be the same motivation or value gone twisted (e.g. we both have people we love who we would do anything to protect...it's the villains way of acting on that motivation that makes them the villain, not the motivation.)
Of course, you can not have your antagonist + protagonist connected in this way. This is often the case if the source of conflict in your story is not another actual character or if you have a more generic villain. Lots of great stories have generic villains. It typically just means the villain is not a focus. It might be, like, about the friendships made in the journey instead.
Motivations:
I find it helpful to think of all my characters having two motivations.
The external story-specific motivation. This is whatever the antagonist is trying to achieve in your particular story and where things like genre and superpowers etc come into play.
The internal motivation that is more universal. The internal motivation is, while still specific to the character, the driving emotions and values. With a villain, that is often hatred or fear or lust for power because they're villains, but as noted earlier it can be a twisted form of love, or a strong sense of an injustice committed against them. This shapes the external motivation (e.g. 'lust for power = I want the throne, 'fear' = I'm going to kill or belittle or control what scares me so I don't have to feel scared anymore', justice might equal revenge or gaining power to ensure that a wrong is corrected. ) It could also be a bias or a prejudice that they're raised on driving them, that they genuinely believe in. Lots of possibilities!
I think this is true of people as well. We have our foundational core beliefs and desires (to be loved, to succeed, to be accepted whatever) and then we have the things we try to get in the real world to meet those needs (whether they really will or not).
Either way, it's the second one that comes into play with the slow descent into villainy and the villain thinking that they're doing the right thing until the end. Because, initially, their heart genuinely is not in a villainous place. They may actually be doing the right thing at the start. And then bad things happen. They are changed by the journey. They are a protagonist gone tragic.
We all experience emotions that can drive us to behave poorly; the desire for revenge or recognition, to ensure that the people we care about are safe, to get money so that we can provide for ourselves and others etc. None of us are without prejudice or privilege. Those things do not make you a villain, but they can be an excellent starting place for one.
Think about times when you've messed up. A villain is often an exaggerated version of that. You start pushing your own boundaries because there is something you really want/need and, depending on how far you push that...do you feel like you can still go back? Or do you feel like you might as well finish it after everything. At what point do you breathe for air, look up at what you've done, and go shit.
That's the villain who realises way too late that they're the villain.
Final note: I've been using antagonist and villain pretty interchangeably here...but they have slightly different connotations. Your antagonist does not have to be a villain to be effective. They just have to be an obstacle to the protagonist. E.g. if two people are going for the same dream job or trying to win a competition, the other competitors are antagonists to a certain extent, but that doesn't mean they're villainous or bad people. Whether you have an outright villain will depend on your story.
I hope this helps!
Some going further questions to take with you.
Is your villain trying to stop your protagonist from reaching their goal? Or is your protagonist trying to stop the antagonist from reaching their goal?
How does the villain's external goal in the story reflect the inner need? Note. They are aware of their external goal. Most people are not aware of the inner goal in the same way.
Do you know what you want your stories themes to be? (This doesn't have to be complicated and it's fine if you don't, that's what editing is for). Your protagonist and antagonist often weigh in on these themes. For example, your antagonist might be a path the protagonist could have gone down, if they made a different choice or something happened differently in their past.

Season 2 thoughts on character growth, and whether there was any...
I respectfully disagree with some of the viewpoints that the choices made at the end of s2 brought the characters right back to where they were, or that it undid all the growth they went through during s1.
The MAIN reason I say that, is this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The final scene mirrors the bandstand scene SO much.
Crowley is asking them to run away together, and Aziraphale is saying they can't. Or, he won't.
Crowley is not tied to either side, he is tied to "us". Aziraphale is tied to Heaven.
But it's not the SAME argument. At the bandstand, Aziraphale is pushing Crowley away. Crowley WON'T and CAN'T join him in Heaven, but Aziraphale cannot find it within him to leave. Heaven is the source of good! It is godly! It is everything just and right in the world! He has to do a lot of gaslighting to himself to believe that, but that's where he's coming from.
He's telling Crowley it's over, they're not on the same side, they can't be together.
The argument in the bookshop is very, very similar, but fundamentally different.
This time, they are both screaming their love for one another. They are not TRYING to push the other away, they are both pulling on opposite ends of the rope trying to pull the other one back to them.
Aziraphale still has not let go of Heaven, but this time he makes it clear: Heaven is BROKEN. Heaven SHOULD be all of those things that Aziraphale thought it was, but it isn't. But maybe he could fix it. And he doesn't want to fix it alone -- he WANTS Crowley, he NEEDS Crowley.
In season 1, Aziraphale's mindset was, "I just have to talk to the right people, and THEY will fix everything."
In season 2, Aziraphale's mindset is, "There are no right people, we have to BE the right people. I can fix Crowley, and then WE can fix everything and Crowley and I could be happy together."
That's not to say there aren't things that have stayed the same, things that they haven't learned yet and still need to.
I think one of the things that Aziraphale doesn't understand yet though -- and one thing that he STILL needs to realize -- is that the problem isn't in the labels. One thing that has remained the same is that Aziraphale still sees them as an angel and a demon, and if only he could "fix" this for Crowley, everything would be better, all of that demonic trauma will go away, and Crowley can be the joyous angel he was.
Crowley's side of the argument is very similar, but also different. He hears everything Aziraphale has to say about Heaven, and still opens up to him. He still pours his heart out about his feelings and how they should be together. He doesn't put the walls up until the very end, and even then, even then -- he doesn't just leave immediately like he did before. He kisses Aziraphale, he shows him just what exactly is on the line, and then he watches Aziraphale go.
He isn't going to let Aziraphale just make this decision without having to look him in the face as he does it. He stands by the Bentley, and makes it clear that HE is not the one walking away this time -- Aziraphale is. He can't be in the bookshop anymore -- and what kind of sanctuary is it now anyway -- but he hasn't gone anywhere.
What he still doesn't understand is Aziraphale's point of view. He understands his own point of view, having presumably seen a high-level view of Heaven, one in which he was asked to create, but never told "oh no not like that" until it was too late. Aziraphale was evidently told that. From the very beginning, Aziraphale understands that one mustn't ask questions, he understands that it is not HIS position to create.
Crowley says that extreme sanctions were something they just joked about to scare the cherubs. He has access to high-level material. He clearly has seen Heaven from a privileged vantage point, and he fell from that high place. Aziraphale's demeanor tells me his position was closer to Muriel's -- respect the higher authorities. What Heaven is now, was what Heaven has ALWAYS been for Aziraphale.
Heaven is flawed to Aziraphale, but as a whole it is not that different from the Heaven that was, when Crowley was happy there. I don't think that Crowley understands why Aziraphale doesn't understand why he can never go back. I don't think he understands why Aziraphale can't see that it isn't just the fall that hurt him, because Aziraphale doesn't feel the enormity of what Crowley lost.
What is interesting is that now Aziraphale will get to see, when he's "in charge". I think that season 3 will see that growth in both of them -- I think Aziraphale will finally understand that perspective.
And I could also see that maybe Aziraphale will find a way to make a difference. Maybe it irrevocably changes Heaven and Hell forever. Either way, I bet it will take both of their perspectives together to make it work, and both of their perspectives will change for the better so they can finally let go of everything that happened and finally be fully free together.

My Safe Space
Eddie Munson x reader x Steve Harrington
This is a repost since the old blog doesn't work anymore. 🥰
Chapter summary: something bad happens after a party, but tou don't want to make your boyfriends worry.
Warnings: mention of rape, slight panic attack.
Tumblr media
Having two boyfriends sounds like fun, right?
Yeah... it is. Most of the time.
For example, double the cuddles, double the attention and double the fun too.
But it also mean double the effort in not making them worry.
I've been with Eddie 'the freak' for almost 4 years, then Steve came along too. This three way relationship is still new for them, so they're still trying to figure their 'side' of the relationship out, but it's going well so far.
The most evident thing they have in common is that they both care a lot about me and worry for the smallest thing, which is sweet, but sometimes it makes it hard for me.
Like tonight.
Steve's parents are away for the summer, apparently, so Eddie and I will stay with him as he offered.
I just came back from a party I was with Nancy. She left at some point with Jonathan so I just spent most of the time with some journal friends from school before walking to Steve's.
That's when I run into Jason and his friends...
-----------
I try not to make any noise as I enter Steve's house, hoping both him and Eddie are already asleep.
I try to keep my breath steady, but my body refuses and just keeps shaking.
I take off my torn jacket amd torn thighs and throw them in the garbage.
The lights are out so maybe they really are asleep. So I slowly walk upstairs to check in the bedroom.
I find them laying in the bed, holding hands with a small empty space between them, for me probably. They always insist on me being in the middle so they 'can protect me better' as they always put it.
I sadly smile and just head to the bathroom and lock the door behind me.
I take a deep, shaky breath and just fall on the floor letting out a sob I held back since that.
------------
I just cry for what felt like an eternity. When I feel like I have no tears left, I stand up and get in front of the sink.
I wash my face and look at myself in the mirror.
Fuck.
It definitely looks like I've been crying.
I take a deep breath and then I heard the doorknob being moved, that makes me jump a little.
"Sweetheart, is that you?"
Steve.
"Yeah" I quickly say, hoping he doesn't notice the tremble in my voice.
"You just got back?" He sounds sleepy.
"Yeah" I say, quickly again.
"You had fun?"
"Yeah"
"Are you okay?" He starts to get worried.
Fuck.
"Yeah" I curse myself for repeating the same thing... with the same tone... not suspicious at all.
"Can I come in, sweetheart?" He asks, trying again to open the door.
I take a deep breath, swallowing down a sob threatening to escape.
"I'll be out in a second, love" I tell him.
"I'll be here" he tells me.
I quickly check myself again in the mirror. It looks like I'm tired now. Which is true. Maybe I can make it believable.
I take another deep breath, once again and unlock the bathroom door and step out. I find Steve leaning on the opposite wall.
Once he looks up to me he immediately opens his arms to hug me.
I unconsciously tense at the contact.
He notices.
"Hey.. you alright?" He lets me go to look at my face.
"Yeah.. uh... I'm just tired" I say with a forced smile.
"Are you su-"
"Yes, Steve. I'm just tired. Danced a lot with Nance" I try to chuckle to make the story more believable.
"Okay... okay" he's not convinced, I can tell. "Come to bed?"
"I'll make myself a tea first." I tell him "you go, don't worry."
"I can keep you company" he offers "Eddie's just completely gone. He won't notice to be alone for a few minutes"
"Oh.. no, no, love. Please you look already asleep" I try to joke "go to bed, I'll be there in a few."
"Are you sure you're okay?" He tries again.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just trying to avoid a headache tomorrow morning"
"Okay.. but if you need anything, anything, call me" he kisses my cheeks and I start to walk downstairs again.
I didn't lie, I'm gonna make some tea, but I have no intention in getting in bed with them.
Not tonight. Not after what happened.
-------------
I slept on the couch. Even if 'slept' is not the correct word to use, it would implie I actually got to sleep.
I get up pretty early and decide to make breakfast for Eddie and Steve.
After a while I hear footsteps coming downstairs.
"Good morning, my darling" Eddie greets me.
"Morning, my love"
He immediately comes to hug me from behind and I, once again, unconsciously tense up.
"What's wrong?" He immediately ask.
"Nothing" I smile to make it more convincing.
"Yeah, she did the same with me when she got back from the party" Steve explains as he comes into view.
"Is something wrong, love?" Eddie asks again.
I open my mouth to answer him, but Steve cuts me off.
"She didn't even sleep in the bed with us tonight"
"I did" I try to convince them.
"No, you did not" Steve says, using a sweet tone. "What happened, sweetheart?"
"Nothing" I say with a nervous laugh. "I mean I'm probably just a little stressed for, you know, the project with that journal course I told you about. It's probably that. Don't worry your pretty little heads"
Eddie goes to take my hand and I instinctively flinch away.
"It's not some stupid project the problem here." He states, concern evident in his voice.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" Steve comes closer, but not too much.
"N-nothing... I... I'm just... uh..." my eyes start watering, I blink the tears away as much as possible "I'm just stressed. Nothing bad happened."
I get back at making the pancakes mixture avoiding their eyes.
"Y/n... we... we just want to help" Eddie tells me. I hate hearing his voice breaking like this.
I sigh shaking my head.
"At least tell us what we can do to make you feel better. Anything." Steve too tries.
"We just want to take care of you"
We just wanna take care of you.
Those words...
I uncontrollably start to cry again, falling on the floor hugging myself, Steve and Eddie are quick to kneel next to me. Careful not to touch me.
"Love.."
"Sweetheart, it's okay. We're here"
"Yeah, nothing's gonna happen."
They try to touch me again and I let them this time.
"Is it okay if we hold you, princess?" Eddie asks.
I slightly nod, still avoiding their eyes.
Carefully, Eddie wrap his arms around me, rubbing my arms to calm me down, while gently rubs my knees.
I take a deep breath and reach out to grab their hands, holding then tight.
"I... I was walking back from the party." I start.
"You don't have to tell us if you're not ready yet, my love" Eddie reassures me.
I just nod but I keep speaking.
"I was walking because I let Nancy go home with Jonathan. I stayed at... at the party for a little longer... chatting with some friends... then.." I let out a sob and Eddie and Steve's hands draw circles on mine reassuringly.
"It's okay, Sweetheart. We're here" Steve softly says.
"Then... while I was walking home I... uh... I... I heard a car... stopping not far from where I was... I didn't think much of it at first... then... uh.. then" I take a deep, shaky breath "then I heard Jason's voice. He was calling me. Next thing I know is... is that I.. was.. I was completely surrounded by his friends. They... they were... they uh.. started to calling me names... and then... then...fuck" I cry again, sobbing violently, Eddie holds me closer and Steve kisses my hand.
"Fuck... I just... I can still feel their hands... all over me... I... " I just cry.
"Sshh, my love. You're okay. We won't let it happen again. We promise" Eddie whispers to me.
"We're so sorry, Sweetheart. So sorry. We shouldn't have let you go alone"
I shake my head.
"It wasn't your fault. Please... don't.. don't blame yourself." I ask.
"Help me get her to the couch" Steve asks Eddie who slowly move his arms away from me to help me stand up, on shaky legs.
They lead me to the couch and let me sit, then they kneel in front of me.
"I'm sorry.." I barely whisper.
"What for, my love? You didn't do anything wrong. You hear me? It wasn't your fault" Eddie firmly tells me holding one of my hands as Steve gently stroke the other one.
"I made you worry..."
"So what? We worry all the time for you, sweetheart. It's not a surprise" Steve jokes to enlighten the mood a bit.
"Yeah, I mean, you remember when you were staying with me at Christmas?" Eddie asks and I nod "I woke up and you weren't next to me. I almost freaked out then I heard the shower." He chuckles turning to look at Steve "turned out she was taking a shower"
Steve laughs at that and I do too.
"See? We're always gonna worry about you. We love you" Steve kisses my hand.
I notice I'm not shaking anymore, so I smile at them and bring their hands to my mouth and kiss them.
"How do you feel?" Eddie asks sitting next to me, Steve does the same.
"Better... thank you" I say leaning my head on his shoulder, letting him hug me.
"Good, now... you stay here with her and I" Steve stands up "have to make a little visit"
"What?" I ask alarmed.
"Not a chance, Harrington. You'll only get your ass kicked. I'll go" Eddie stands up too "Where's your bat?"
"What? No! You two are staying here" I firmly say, standing up.
"Why?" They ask at the same time.
"Because..." I say.
"Because...?" Eddie asks.
"There's... there's no need" I say looking down at my feet.
"No need? Love, they hurt you... we... fuck. We can't let them get away with it." Steve comes to me rubbing my arms.
"He's right. At least let us talk to Hopper" Eddie suggests. "Please"
"I... I don't... "I stutter and Steve only holds me.
"We'll be with you the entire time. We promise, my love." Eddie reassures me.
"Can... can we do it... later... not now, please?" I ask, my eye watering up once again.
"Sure, love. Whenever you're ready." Steve kisses my head.
"How about breakfast then?" Eddie gently grabs my hand leading me back to the kitchen.
I move to get back to the pancakes mixture, but Eddie stops me.
"I got it, my darling" he tells me.
"I can still use my hands, Eddie" I tell him rolling my eyes playfully.
"I know. That doesn't mean I can't spoil my girl" he winks.
I feel Steve coming up behind me, hugging me and resting his chin on my shoulder.
"He's right, you know. Plus you can't stop us from spoiling you, sweetheart." He kisses my cheek.
"I love you." I say, slightly embarrassed from their attention.
"Aaww look at her. She still gets all shy with us" Steve jokes.
"Still not use to have two guys at your feet, love?" Eddie sweetly smirks.
"Shut up" I say.
"Yeah stop teasing my girl, Munson" Steve jokingly accuses Eddie.
"Your girl? Man, we're all together here. Key word: share" Eddie replies.
"Okay, okay, while you two fight I'll go change and... yeah.. throw these clothes away." I half smile and the nod checking if I'm actually okay, once they're convinced Steve lets me go and kisses my cheek and so does Eddie.
"Be quick, or Harrington here will eat everything" he jokes.
Steve looks at him in disbelief.
They keep bickering and joking all while Eddie finishes making breakfast and I walk upstairs.
I finally feel safe again.
I feel stupid for not telling them right away, they would probably tell me that no, I'm not stupid, but still.
They're my safe place, always.

This, is what I think is going to happen for BYLER in season 5:
1. They will get multiple heart-to-heart/intimate scenes together. As we already saw in season 4, they got 3 in total: the first on at Will's house, after El shmacked Angela's face, the second one on the car in the desert, after burying the Hero Unknown Agent Man's body, the third one in the van when Will opens to him. In season 3, we didn't get any, but in season 2 we had 2: the first one when Mike reassures Will about the Mind Flayer and they touch hands *so cute*, and the second one when Mike tells about the first time they met. So if we're being reasonable, it could be 4, I think we'll have 4 scenes in total.
Let me explain that... I see the first one being about Max and Lucas' mental state. It could be at the hospital, or at school, or at Mike's house. The second one could be some sort of fight. I remember one of the co-writers saying there will be an other rain fight. I don't really know if it will happen cause he confirmed it a long time ago but let's say it is. So an other rain fight, at Mike's house, but maybe this time it could hint Mike's sexuality instead of Will's like in S3. The third one could be where they try to reassure each other that it's okay they will win right after Vecna's back, more likely at Mike's house or someplace other. The fourth one could be in the Upside Down, because may I remember you that Mike never went in the Upside Down? That's what we call a first time, right Mike! So Mike and Will in the Upside Down could talk about everything they've been through and Mike could finally kiss Will and tell him how much he loves him.
For a final scene, a fifth but not really fifth, it could be when everything's over. They go to some sort of High School Ball to celebrate their final year and I see them finally breaking the "I'm scared" barrier and go in the middle of the dance floor and dance together like no one else is there with a Time After Time song playing on the background.
2. Their first kiss will be awkward from both their POV. What I mean is that when they kiss for like, what, 3 seconds, Will pushes Mike gently and Mike removes himself gently and they look at each other like they did something bad. Will stutters trying to say something but nothing comes out of his mouth. Mike could say something like "Oh, I'm sorry I- I didn't..." but Will could interrupt him like 'bitch wdym you're sorry' he could kiss him back but it is after the kiss Mike will admit he never liked El romantically. Buy yeah, awkward kiss, just like Rockie's one could be actually. Mostly cause they're older so it doubles the awkwardness.
3. Jonathan gets some hate towards Mike. I can literally imagine Jonathan always being mad, upset and distant towards Mike because he can't see his brother likes him. It'd be too funny I'm sorry ;-;
4. Will gets hurt by Vecna and Mike stays next to him at the hospital. It could be the opposite actually, Mike in the bed, but I prefer Will cause he's used to it now- I can see them being close and Mike being super worried but it doesn't count as a intimate scene because Jonathan, Joyce and Hopper are close.
5. Will shirtless makes Mike blush. Let me explain, LET ME. We saw in S5 BTS they swapped clothes for some stuff. Like, we saw Will has Mike's clothes on, logic, he left everything in California and they do the same cloth size (almost). So if we consider the fact that Mike lends his clothes to Will, we can totally imagine at one point Will, coming in Mike's room asking for a shirt because he doesn't have anymore. Mike brings him one and he says thanks, then he removes his clothes, his back facing Mike's face and he gets like flustrated it'd be HILARIOUSLY CUTE. He could stare through a mirror maybe, idk but that sounds nice right?
6. Mike will get hurt in the Upside Down. Of course he has to, he hasn't been hurt in the whole show, BRO'S FINE. So he gets hurt and Will of course would help him, they could rest a little and talk two times, one "normal" hinting a future kiss and the second time they kiss.
An upside down kiss. What a funny name. It isn't a Spider-Man kiss though (should be).
I think that's it, I'll reblog my post if I find anything else.

Can I just quickly point out how Netflix and the rest fucked with us with the stills and trailer they released. They showed us everything yet we knew nothing and made us believe in exactly opposite of what happened. Have a look.
Tumblr media
Didn't we all think here shit oh shit Simon is so happy vibing with his new bf at the party. RIP Wilmon, let Sircus reign. Well in the exhibit above the petty little gay bitch is making his almost-ex boyfriend intentionally jealous af and he was winning at it (or rather loosing as we found out later). And that smirk? Nothing to do with Markus, sorry not sorry.
Tumblr media
Awww such a cute bff moment. Pahahaha. Little did we know we were about to be hit in the face with the biggest cringe moment of the season. I remember one or two souls saying well they look a bit sus cuddling on a bed like that, and the rest (including me) shouted noo! beauty of platonic friendship! We were played my friends. Lol. Just lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at this sequence. We thought first day back at school? Reunion moment? What is Simon smiling like that for? Well he's about to break our hearts in two and mend us again at the same time. That includes Wille, actually. We had no idea. Neither did Wille.
Tumblr media
The speech makes me lol as well. I don't think anyone was too excited about it. Everyone thought yeah another princely thingy, some shit speech, yawn, whatever. My ass! Who cried at the shitty boring speech? I'll go first 🙋‍♀️

Look at them, some dirty villain-to-half villain deal about to commence. The only dirtiness that commenced was in August's bedroom. And it was actually cute and fluffy af. This must be my most favourite twist this season.
Tumblr media
Blue lights in the mirror? Finally August is about to be taken by the police!!! Yeah, party police. Let's move on.
Tumblr media
Ohhh Sara baby what's wrong? Are you sad? Is Hillerska treating you badly? Are you having anxiety attack? Did someone hurt you? Listen people, she was horny. For August. Out of all the people. Seriously, wtf Netflix?!?!
Tumblr media
I was obsessed with this pic. Aww Wilmon having such a cute couple moment, they're out and proud at Hillerska, not a secret anymore. Nope. Simon just momentarily forgotten he doesn't love Wille anymore and is supposed to move on but then he remembers it and jumps away coz he probably saw Markus looking at them like ???? Still a cute little moment.
Tumblr media
Wille on the table, Wille on the table! They all cheer because all Hillerska ship Wilmon too! Not quite. All they ship is their own asses and maybe some heteronormativity. (Is that even a word?) Ugh.
Tumblr media
Who's that???? Oh shit that's Markus. Must be Markus. Wille bumped into him at Simon's house 😱 Wille looks sad. I'm so stressed!!! Chill out people, it's only Simon. And Wille's just about to announce he can give up the throne for him. Nothing exciting, you know, just some domestic couple stuff.
Tumblr media
And this moment? Looks serious. Simon looks sad? Is he comforting Wille? Has someone died? Well the only person who died at that moment was me okay?
They fucked with us. Or our clowning backfired. Decide for yourself.

What are your ships for Batim? :D
Tumblr media
VERY GOOD QUESTION- I know my answer should be rather straightforward but I feel I have to put some context to my answers since they may seem contradictory/paradoxical otherwise, so bear with me-
Sammy x Norman : Well. I think that one was pretty obvious, anyone who's seen more than 3 of my posts knows that I'd die for these two. They're just so PERFECT for each other, from their complementary personalities to the fact that their relationship allows us to delve deeper into batim's historical and social context. Sammy and Norman have one of the few relationships that develop the most during the game's lore : Norman originally complains vehemently about Sammy's frenetic behavior, only to end up lamenting to Buddy and Dot how 'Sammy isn't the same anymore'. What's interesting about this statement is that he says it in relation to Sammy's strange behavior : clearly, the two men have grown close enough for Norman to differentiate Sammy's extravagant habits from his ink-influenced behavior.
Furthermore, Sammy is a very gray character morally, a perfectionist who is extremely socially maladjusted (surely due to the fact that he's coded on the spectrum and autism wasn't properly diagnosed at the time), naturally ostracizing him. For his part, Norman comes from a rural background (which surely earns him the animosity of the people at the studio, given the historical context and the fact that he could very well be poc) and also seems ill at ease socially : to me, it's fascinating to see two characters excluded from their peers because of differences they can't change (being autistic or poc and gay) getting closer to each other, to the point where Sammy, who is deeply misanthropic, naturally compliments Norman by describing him as very bright. To me, Norman is the perfect partner for Sammy : ready to apprehend him as he is, since he's completely free of social conventions, without taking any shits from him.
I think Sammy and Norman can really get the best out of each other, during a historical period when being different was strongly proscribed. I think I'd have trouble enjoying Batim as much without their dynamic at its heart (considering how narratively rich it is) : Norman is Henry's confidant, Sammy is Joey's, both remain morally gray deuteragonists fundamentally opposed to the ink machine, while remaining fascinated by its powers. And who wouldn't love a good old enemies to lovers ending tragically with the unwitting murder of one by the other ? After all, Norman's main flaw is that he's too curious for his own good, and it was Sammy who inevitably led him to his doom..
Allison x Tom : what more can I add. She's everything. He's just Tom. I've always been drawn to characters/ships with a vibe completely opposite to the vibe of the work they originally came from, and the 'turning poison into positivity' energy that Tom and Allison bring to Batim has always fascinated me. In a world as tragic as their own, I find it touching to see these two find beauty in all the ugliness and manage to ask themselves 'what if we were happy after all ?' It's really striking and brings a narrative richness to the work, since they directly mirror what failed with Sammy and Susie : Allison is perfect, but that was never what was at stake in Tom's eyes. Tom was looking for humanity, not perfection, and he managed to go beyond the image of the muse to discover a friend, unlike Sammy with Susie. They're literally Romeo and Juliet but, well... Not dead.
Joey x Henry/Henry x Linda : oh boy. These three... Let me get it straight right away : Henry and Linda are perfect for each other. She's exactly what he needs to be happy : she's present, patient. There's no denying that he loves her immensely. But Joey... oh Joey is undoubtedly Henry's soul mate. The subtlety is that Joey can't bring him the stable happiness Linda can : Joey tugs at him, pushes him over the edge. He knows exactly what to do to push him beyond his own limits. The love Joey offers Henry is an uncomfortable but unconditional one, one that would allow Henry to go beyond what he thinks he's capable of achieving because no one knows Henry better than Joey ! And let's be honest, Batim only exists because Joey refuses to move on, to live his dream without Henry in it. He's stuck in unrequited love and refuses to learn to live with it. And that's the tragedy of this trio : Henry sincerely loves Linda but is truly himself with Joey, which prevents him from hating OR loving him (And Joey exploits this information by remaining extremely toxic and convincing himself that he can wear him down lmao). Henry is stuck with this dilemma : Existing peacefully with Linda or living painfully with Joey. And that's why I love the dynamic of this love triangle : because there are no solutions that will satisfy everyone.
Joey x Sammy : okay, don’t get me wrong : these two are HORRIBLE for each other. Does Sammy periodically want to quit just to piss Joey off? Yes. Isn't Joey's fascination with Sammy intimately tied to his refusal to forget Henry, who was a genius like Sammy? Yes. Nevertheless, it's impossible for me to read The Illusion of Living without feeling embarrassed and like I'm reading Joey's diary : whether you ship them or not, Joey is practically canonically smitten with Sammy. I sincerely don't think Joey and Sammy can sustain a healthy relationship with each other, but oh boy, surely that won't stop me from exploiting their bizarre obsessive love-hate relationship, where it's hard to determine whether they're going to throw hands or make out.

Bill Cipher: Lord of Hope (the homestuck classpect)
explanation for why I picked this classpect for him under the cut
First of all: I think classpect is heavily influenced by one's narrative role in a story. It's influenced by personality too, of course, but someone with the exact same personality could have a completely different classpect depending on how the story uses them.
Lord is an extremely powerful class reserved for the big-bad in homestuck. It means having unimaginable amounts of control over your aspect (which here is Hope). It's also a volatile, destructive, and self-serving class. It's also the mirror and opposite of the Muse class, which is equally powerful, but wielded passively for the benefit of others, often using methods more like setting up all the components of a rube goldberg machine behind the scenes, rather than the Lord's preferred method of steamrolling over things whenever possible.
Second side-note: Each aspect has an opposite, and I think these aspect pairs meaningfully influence each other by virtue of being on opposite ends of a continuum. You might even say they're opposite sides of the same concept.
Hope is the aspect of imagination, limitless possibilities, belief, and the literal meaning as well. It also has a ton of religious undertones. Its opposite aspect is Doom, which, other than the literal meaning, is all about rules, limitations, doubt, and what is rather than what could be. They both need each other--without Hope, Doom becomes despair. Without Doom, Hope becomes completely disconnected from reality.
Which brings me to Bill. On the Hope-Doom spectrum, he's leaned so absurdly far towards Hope that he's convinced himself Doom doesn't even exist. In his reddit AMA, he literally says "lie until what you want to be true becomes true. Lie until you can't remember what's a lie and what isn't. Lie until you aren't lying anymore." I can't think of a better encapsulation of what it means to push the Hope aspect to its absolute extreme. He believes so much in the power of belief that he simply ignores any truths he doesn't like.
He embodies the Hope aspect in many other ways, too. Originally he was going to be more of a morally-neutral trickster character, whose whole purpose was just to show up randomly in Dipper's dreams and rattle off wild statements of questionable truth and conspiracy theories at him. The kind of things that people hope are true (sometimes to make the world seem more exciting and magical, sometimes for bigoted reasons, you know how it is with conspiracy theories), but the point is: Bill retains some of this in his canon personality. He tells Ford in the journal that the moon landing was fake. When he first meets Gideon, he says the whole "reality is an illusion" thing. He delights in sharing these kinds of things with people, and yeah, it's to fuck with them, but there's still something to be said about the fact that he accomplishes this through the use of things that exist as uncertain possibilities in people's minds, and things that some people have a strong belief in and/or hope to find proof of. He's wielding Hope as a tool, because that's when he's in his element.
Bill also preys on people's hopes and dreams, appearing to people literally inside their heads, and existing mainly in dreams and minds for billions of years--a place where you really can create anything you can imagine. He uses Ford's hopes of accomplishing something meaningful to get him to create a doomsday device. He also has Ford practically worshiping him, calling him a Muse with a capital M, calling his presence 'divine intervention'... the religious themes that often go hand-in-hand with the Hope aspect are definitely present. Of course a Lord would wield the Hope aspect to give himself worshipers who practically see him as a god.
And, speaking of doomsday devices, Weirdmageddon is the exactly what would happen in a world where the Hope aspect ran rampant without any laws or restrictions or concrete truths. In the codes of Journal 3, Bill says, "why should time only move forward, why must cause precede effect, who voted on the laws of physics - rules are perversions against all will, that's why I'm about to rewrite the whole system buddy, and no one is going to stop me."
We also get some insight into Bill's beliefs when we take a look as Mabel's dreambubble. He literally uses someone's hopes as a weapon against them, trapping her inside a twisted version of all the things that could've been true, if only the world was fueled by pure imagination, without any laws of physics or imperfect days or boring moments. Bill is so confident that this trap is infallible that he doesn't even bother to stop Dipper from trying to get her out once he makes it inside the dreambubble. Maybe the reason why Bill is so confident that this trap is inescapable is because he's pretty much trapped himself in a dreambubble of his own creation, where anything is possible and fantasy wins over reality every time (talking about the nightmare realm here), and was so intoxicated by the limitless lawlessness of the place that he spent billions of years trying to expand his little self-imposed prison to cover the rest of the multiverse, rather than ever stop to question himself or consider the consequences. Because with enough Hope, there are no consequences, only infinite possibilities limited only by your own imagination! ...right?
I could probably go on, but I think this is more than enough to support my case for Bill being a Lord of Hope. I'm always interested to hear about other classpect headcanons though!

honestly i think people get so wrapped up in the whole anti-sonic thing and fandom perception that they kind of forget that scourge actually. he is actually an interesting character in his own right. like regarding the whole identity crisis and stuff. like. i dunno, maybe im just overthinking it, but what makes him an interesting character to me is. how to put this. actually im just going to copy paste half of it from a now deleted post that i dont entirely agree with anymore. but this part is still good.
scourge being a discount sonic is literally his designated place by The Universe Itself. that is, by definition, who he is. like, just look at half his introduction boxes - even the comic itself won't recognize him as his own person beyond "evil sonic". at heart he's a deconstruction of the "what about an alternate universe... where everybodys moralities were FLIPPED!!!!!" trope - what happens if the alternate versions of the characters actually hate the fact that they're alternate/arguably discount versions? the point is that he can't actually be his own person. he's always going to be living in the shadow of sonic, and he cant even look in the mirror without seeing it. when people look at him and thing "hm wow that looks like a sonic recolor", they're not. literally not wrong.
scourge's identity crisis, while definitely having to do with ego, primarily is about agency. its the whole moebius problem (which i do talk about in a different post because morality/agency/responsibility for ones actions is actually. super interesting to me but thats neither here nor there) really - are the moebians bound to be the moral opposite of their mobius counterparts, or are they moebians because their moralities are the opposite of their mobius counterparts? does he actually have the ability to make his own choices and be a distinct person from sonic, or is he literally just going to be "discount evil sonic" for the rest of his life? when you find out that you arent your own person - that your existence is literally defined by some other version of you - the "true" version of you - how do you react. what do you do. where do you go.
which is then where we bring in the "scourge, in his desperate attempts to break away from being a sonic, tries to become what sonic isnt, and thus ends up leaning more into his designated place by the universe as anti-sonic" and so on and so forth, which is what makes him interesting. or at least to me anyways

Things I thought about after Watching and Dreaming, with no particular order. Much of this is pulled directly from my notes document
Hunters tv tropes page says Caleb is hinted to be albino
Lilith may have let Luz fall in Agony of a Witch if Eda hadn't sent Owlbert to catch her
Hunter relaxes slightly with everyone else at the beginning of For the Future when Luz says she's okay after coming out of the portal. He's relieved she's okay, even wrapped up in his own head as he is
Belos lights up the Titan's opposite eye from the one the Titan has lit. The Titan has a functioning left eye but a dim right one, and Belos lit the right one. King has a crack on the left side of his skull, Eda has a grey left eye, Luz has a scar over her left eyebrow. All of the Flapjack tattoos are on the left side except for Hunter's, which is where his sigil was (or is, if they had just started developing that technology and hadn't removed it yet)
The palistrom shortage was not only from Belos taking palismen, but also using the wood to make grimwalkers
Oh no did he ask Hunter to kill the Selkidomus because he expected this grimwalker to be the last and he wasn't giving himself room for failure. He needed to complete his mission, and failure wasn't an option if he couldn't make more grimwalkers. Because he had to have Caleb in the picture.
The fact that the show itself says point-blank that Belos is genuinely delusional and his goals are self-serving (through the Titan talking with Luz)
King never saw the room full of Titan skulls in Edge of the World, so he's seeing it for the first time in Watching and Dreaming
Luz's scene of standing and watching Belos melt while he tries to talk to her perfectly mirrors the scene of ghost Caleb standing and watching Belos melt while Belos tries to talk to him. They have the same expressions, angles, shots. And it's flipped. The scene is flipped. It's literally mirrored. And she has a similar hair thing going on. A fluffy hair noodle.
The speech Belos gave to Luz probably parallels how he tried to convince his brother
Luz's Titan magic orb is like the light glyph. King also had one when he yelled at Belos. Also Luz was zapping around like Hunter, the sound effect is even reminiscent
The parallels between Belos' skeletal form and the Titan's skeletal form
Waffle/s sitting on Hunter's head at the very end,,, feels familiar. No I'm not crying
Alador doesn't hunch anymore, and his belt has three symbols for each of his 3 kids
King finally got to play catch
Willow is definitely about to kiss Hunter in the Grom photo. Also look at his suit. Atrocious. Absolutely wretched. Perfect.
Green fungus vs red grass. Just. The colors in general there's so so so much going on there I have so many thoughts about it
Polly
The fact that Caleb's kindness and forgiveness did not work on Philip. Caleb hugged his brother even as Philip was corrupted and monstrous and it did not work. And the Collector ran into the same problem. Can you stop haunting the narrative for five minutes
Dana as a Hexside student cameo
The earrings exchange
The basilisks!!! At least two others survived!! And maybe reunited with Vee! This is excellent news
The airship with the abomination styled like the way Luz styled the Blight's household abomination to look like a cat
Dana signing Luz's writing scholarship. Luz getting a writing scholarship. Remember at the end of ASIAS when Lumity had the idea of their book club also being a writing club
Amity recognizing Luz quoting Azura in Covention (which Luz also outright states) but not saying anything. Imagine her inner dialogue, must have been so confusing
The kid who introduced sigil application way back when being the one to introduce the removal process. Good for him
Amity and Lilith have a good relationship. They were sort of like a mirror of Luz and Eda's mentor-mentee relationship such a long time ago, but less healthy. Now they're friends
Hunter gets all the family ties. Clearly a Noceda because of Thanks to Them, clearly a Deamonne from Watching and Dreaming, which also makes him a Blight, and he also gets Eberwolf with Darius because of course. If you include being a clone of Eda & Lilith's great-something grandfather AND being Luz's sister AND the fact that there may be a shared guardianship of Luz between Camila and Eda, which also includes Raine, he gets to be a Clawthorne, which also means he gets to be a Whispers. And let's not forget how he's obviously also a Park. If desired, for good measure, you can cite brotherly relation and tack on Porter as well. And don't forget the actual canon where he is adopted by the entire school as the resident cryptid
Hunter is literally a cryptid and I have been thinking about this for a very long time. I wish they got to talk about that more but they didn't, which means it's free real estate
The sheer amount of love and care baked into the finale. It's splendid. The hugs and kisses and words and actions and feelings
Eda and King both got mega evolutions. Then Luz did too
Making a stand against Belos at the site of the DOU. Paralleling prior shots, like looking over the Isles and talking about destiny, the parallels between Luz's Titan mega evolution vs Hunter's possession (there's quite a lot)
How they avoided the feeling of powercreep by keeping a lot of the actions very readable and down-to-earth. Even when they were fighting kaiju puritan with decay laser, there weren't world-shattering mega-powers. Everything was built on what we already understood. We got glyphs, we got Harpy mode and Beast mode and King's powers were heightened but they were still the same powers, we got Luz with her staff and Belos with his usual strategy, Raine fighting back in ways we already understood but also ways which meant more (like breaking their instrument). The archives collapsing and the Collector holding them up with ribbons while standing on the shooting star, we understand those powers because we saw them earlier, it made sense
While the archives start falling, Hunter zips toward Willow before stopping short when they stop falling. Hmmm now where have we seen something like that before. For reference I am talking about COTH
Amity finally using a glyph
Amity using vines, Willow using fire. That's the reversal of their usual things. Amity used the fire spell in Adventures in the Elements, that was tough for her. Willow's got plants down. Hunter using ice. Gus flying around and levitating
Hunter being able to save a palisman
Eda's absolutely MASSIVE smiles throughout
Magic coming from the heart, callback to The Intruder
The massive Titan heart in the throne room appearing way back when, and us all wondering about it, and it finally FINALLY came back with significance. Awesome
Luz burning away the rot before making an ice path to give her a clear shot at Belos. Utilizing the glyphs to their fullest, one after the other, super fast. She's become fluent in the Titan's language
Luz's confident speech to Belos paralleling her prior speeches in a moment of pure epicness as she annihilates him. And that's the last she ever says to him
The Collector crowning the Titan
The Titan acknowledging that he went after the wrong person
Everyone being so very gender
The Collector explaining "Hide and Seek" scene was just so. Intense. Them not understanding how mortals work. How empathy works. They're a young child who was raised by the wrong sort of people, they honestly didn't know any better. But that's when compassion comes in
The way the Collector flinched away from Amity paints a bad picture of the sorts of expectations he has
The Hexside kids are okay!!
Belos obviously tries one last Hail Mary, and Luz Is Not Having It
Did the rain come from Luz channeling the Titan's powers?
You can see scarring on Raine's arm. Almost matching Eda. And someone else we know. They should talk

there's a conversation happening on tiktok right now about why there has been such a sharp rise in people wanting to watch female-led anime instead of being so focused on shonen and the girl who posted the video listed her reasoning as shonen constantly fucking up "power creep" (her words but i'm pretty sure she meant power scaling).
anyway i'm going to subject you all to my thoughts on this because i refuse to post anything on tiktok. (i'm also putting this under a read more because it got longer than i thought it would SKJDBVKJDBVJ).
now, i don't think complaints of power scaling in shonen is a bad thing, but i also don't think it's actually the problem with shonen (nor do i think it's the reason that there's an increase in interest for female leads bc i think that's literally just people wanting to see more female main characters which is not new or surprising or weird, but that's not the point of this rn).
i think the problem with shonen (most of the time) is the lack of actual story content - like fucking... plots and themes and motifs.
her two examples were mha and jjk because to her they sit on opposite sides of the spectrum in regards to power scaling (in mha the villains are so weak that children can defeat them, and in jjk the villains are so strong that no one can defeat them), so i'm also going to work off of these two examples.
mha's problem is not that the children are the only ones who can fight the big bads, it's that we don't get to see proof that the kids are actually stronger than the adults. sure there's evidence of adults fighting the villains and losing vs the kids fighting the villains and winning, but there's no setup for like a mentor/mentee moment of the mentee finally besting their mentor and us the audience getting to see that they're finally stronger. in fact it's... typically the opposite.
mha shows us multiple times that even the strongest characters in the main cast of kids are not stronger than, say, kids who are two years older than them or their teachers, let alone the best and strongest professional heroes in the verse. and that's not a power scaling issue, that's a storytelling issue. because you can set up stories where kids are stronger than the adults in their verse, and you can write it in a way that makes sense, but mha does not do that.
and of course mha has multiple other storytelling problems, not the least of them being the fact that it set itself up to be one of those "if you believe in yourself and try hard enough you can do anything" stories only to immediately undermine itself by giving the mc the most powerful ability in the verse free of charge, making the entire opening sequence have zero emotional payoff (a problem that continues on and on forever in the anime/manga).
jjk, on the other hand, set itself up to be a story about cycles, about the past repeating itself, about the inevitability of curses and hardship and never learning from past mistakes, but all of that was completely abandoned somewhere in the middle of the shibuya arc and was never touched on again.
all of the main characters in jjk have direct mirrors within the main cast - yuji & geto, fushiguro & gojo, nobara & shoko, maki & toji, nanami & mei mei, the list goes on - and it had the perfect opportunity to either be a story about the inevitability of trauma cycles OR a story about breaking those cycles, but instead half the cast is now dead and it's become a manga that's just about cool-looking fights.
the problem with jjk is not that the villains are too strong/unbeatable (i actually think there could have been merit to making jjk a story where the villains win, but that would have required focusing on the theme of cycles which, again, has unfortunately been lost) - it's just that there's no fucking plot anymore. there's no meat. there's no point. even if the goal of jjk from the beginning was to subvert a lot of typical shonen tropes, it's so so hard to care about that anymore because there's no reason. the plot is gone, the themes have vanished, the emotion is no longer in the room with us, and it has absolutely nothing to do with (im)balances of power within the verse.
but of course this is not a new problem in shonen. it's so incredibly rare for shonen to have a good story that maintains from start to finish in a satisfying arc, and that's almost a staple of the genre now - training arcs and a war arcs and lots of fighting and very little actual substance. the ones that do have it are gold mines. but again, this is not a new problem and it's not a new conversation, and i don't think it's the heart of why that girl posted that video or why all those people agree with her.
i truly think the actual reason this conversation is happening is because there's a new set of people who have recently turned twenty-something and are realizing that they don't identify with shonen protagonists anymore because they're no longer teenagers. and i think those people are upset that the characters/stories aren't aging with them and are finally looking at all the shows they like and are realizing that they're constructed around a trope of, essentially, child soldiers fighting battles that the adults in their verses cannot. and these people are realizing that they maybe don't like that anymore.
because when you're a teenager, shonen is escapism or a power fantasy or both. it's more relatable because it's made for that age group. but when you're an adult you start going "hey... where are these kids' parents?" because you realize that it's unfair and unreasonable in real life to put so much pressure on literal children. (i always think of that post that went around tumblr a few years ago that was a gif of this character in a tv show saying something like "i'm 13. i'm practically an adult." - bc when you're a 10 year old watching that, you go Yeah That's Right She's So Old, but when you're 30 watching that, you're just internally groaning because you have been a full legal adult for this child's entire life and they're barely older than a baby to you).
but of course shonen (and YA lit and superhero cartoons/comics and the list goes on) is not meant to be "realistic."
but just because it's not crafted as realism doesn't mean it shouldn't have story elements or themes that can reflect reality and/or be applied to real life. it also doesn't mean it can't have a fucking plot SKJDBVJKDVB

Is the request still open? Can i request for a dating hoodie hc? Thank you ☺️
Hello!! You can! I've developed a soft spot for this man and I blame my Marble Hornets rewatch for it.
Dating Hoodie would be like... (headcanons!)
Dating Masky Headcanons, Dating Toby Headcanons
How, how, and how did you do this? Was it a magic spell? I'm terrified. Definitely the hardest of the boys to date if he's in his Hoodie state. Which is...well, constantly now.
Post Marble Hornets Hoodie is, at best, a zombie. Not literally of course but this man is the definition of dead inside. He doesn't feel anything regardless emotion, touch, colour...He's just there, existing. But being in a relationship with you brought his old self back, the one he thought had died years ago. It's a constant conflict of Brian-Hoodie-Brian-Hoodie inside him throughout the entire relationship.
If you dated him during MH, you'd see how totally different they are. Brian is this sweet, sweet boy with a bright smile that gives off golden retriever vibes, and who would offer you a shop full of flowers if he could (and he would tbh he has his contacts!). After the "incident", however, he's like a shadow of his old self. Hoodie is...a complete different being.
If you date him post-MH, well, you'll only assume how Brian was like through particular actions or things Hoodie does. Brian was...a boy with a bright future but no way with the ladies. Outspoken. Funny. That man is still within Hoodie, that shell of a man.
Hoodie is a complete opposite. He's literally OG Michael Myers. Sometimes you might wonder if he's even breathing from how still Hoodie gets. Whenever he's not active, you will find him hanging around the house or outside watching the trees. That is, if he's not watching you instead.
He hates looking at himself in the mirror and it shows. He only likes looking at you. And he does, to a point it becomes uncomfortable. It's often when you wake up in the middle of the night, a chill running down your spine, and find Hoodie watching you from a dark corner of the bedroom.
Most likely selective mute when he can. He doesn't talk, even to you. Sign language all the way! His voice reminds him of Brian and it's too much for him. He's just broken beyond repair, the poor man.
Masky probably forces him to talk during mission planning or meetings. That's why he still uses a voice changer.
Speaking of Masky! Hoodie remains one of the tallest in the main group, second comes Toby and then Masky. He doesn't care about height whatsoever.
Back with the main group again. Hoodie still goes on particular missions with Masky, just not as much as before. He either works alone or in pair with other proxies. He might not be the best at stalking anymore, but hacking devices still remain one of his best assets.
Takes a few years for him to take his mask off around you, but with reassurance and love, maybe a few months tops. You can see the age affecting him, I mean, Hoodie's in his early 40s. Undone beard, dark eyebags, small scars splattered across his face, hair stuck in a small ponytail...You get what I'm saying. His eyes are the worst, it's like you're staring into a dead person's eyes. Brian's spark is gone.
I already mentioned it, but I'll say it again; Hoodie hates his reflection. Mirrors who cross his way end up broken. He hates what he sees in the mirror. Just a...lost future of what could have been, of wandering dreams and nightmares, staring back at him through empty eyes.
Hoodie loves your hands. They're so soft and innocent compared to his. Cup his face or hold it in your hands and there's a 50/50 chance he'll cry.
Surprisingly the only proxy of the main gang who would not train you. He feels like he'd turn you into a person of interest for SlenderMan and Hoodie would rather kill you than let you become a proxy. But you can watch him train :)
He's a very calm person. It's very rare if he has a meltdown or an anger burst. He's the living embodiment of "I'll keep my emotions right here, deep down, and one day I'll die." He'll never be angry at you unless you go against his boundaries or rules.
Speaking of rules, yeah, they're not THAT bad. Just don't call him Brian, or try to get into his past, or anything regarding the other proxies and the Big Man himself.
Actually I take it back, Hoodie does have his moments of anger and it looks exactly the same as his peaceful era, except that everything he does is ten times more aggressive. He only does it around you as a way to let you know he's upset. Don't ask me why he does it tho.
Look, Hoodie can DENY all he wants, and he'll die denying it, but he's still Brian. He's still that golden boy and no matter how much he pretends he's not, that boy always comes to the surface around you.
Due to this, he's the most likely to spear a few victims if he can. He has always hated unnecessary blood.
Playing with your hair or hands will forever be one of his de-stress methods. Or tracing your skin. It makes him feel at peace, like the world has stopped moving and it's only you and him. Stargazing is on the to-do list. Or reading.
You actually see other proxies with frequency. They come around often but most don't really talk. They drop by to give Hoodie Gods-know-what and leave again without a word. He doesn't let them see you however. The only proxy allowed to be within your presence is one called 'Prowler' and you have no idea why that is.
Like you can see, Hoodie doesn't trust anyone. You're the only one he trusts and that is if you prove yourself you won't do anything stupid like searching on YouTube what Marble Hornets is. Won't end well, trust me.
A curious fan fact; Hoodie loves corners. The bed is in the corner of the bedroom. There's a small spot to relax in the corner of the living room. He feels safe in them and hopes you do too. He just wants you to feel safe, as insane as that sounds.
Sometimes you'll find him hugging himself in said corner. Just. Sitting down, hugging himself, head lost in the fog. You need to bring him back otherwise he'll just...stay there until SlenderMan calls for him.
You've probably already seen how I could go for HOURS talking about Hoodie being a sad boy. I mean. Lives up to his mask ig??
Oh yeah! You can borrow his hoodies. He feels weird whenever he sees you using them around the house but he won't stop you. Unless you want to.
Back to what I was saying. Don't think Hoodie is this soft boy who went through traumatic stuff. This is a man in his early 40s who has lost count of how many people he has murdered. He banged open a man's head with his crowbar once. Said this, he's not afraid to do the same to anyone who brings you harm. Thinks that if you were to be killed or harmed by anyone, it should be him.

hi hi 👋 can i have headcanons of deuce and his gn!s/o who has feelings for Deuce, but is really hesitant to get into a relationship with him since they're planning to go back home at the end? they don't want to break Deuce's heart and get all of his hopes up. can either be angsty, fluffy, or both! tysm and congrats on 100 followers 🎊🎈
Enchanted To Meet You
Deuce x GN! S/O
warnings: small amount of cursing, angst, grammatical errors
Tumblr media
Berry: Sorry for those who have been waiting for these since February! I still hope you enjoy this and thank you for your guys' patience. What helped me write this was listening to Enchanted by Taylor Swift, don't know why but it works *laughs*
In all honesty I could see this situation as a constant back and forth, for you as well as Deuce
"Hey (Y/N) could you help me with this?" He'd ask sheepishly. " I kind of zoned out when professor Crewel was discussing this..." His voice trailed but you couldn't help but form a small smile.
Hanging out with the rest of the first years was fun and all but often times it led to just the two of you talking endlessly about your guys' interests and many other topics. Which in turn amplified the growing feeling in your heart.
But as the two of you started to get closer, it also amplified that one nagging thought in your head
'You still have to go home...'
You would get this random sting in your chest every time you hang out with Deuce especially when the two of you are laughing. Which in turn made your smile falter for a quick sec.
"-And Epel came running forward cuz Ace..." His voice would trail as he would noticed something off with you but continued on thinking that you might just be drained from the day.
Deuce is a smart guy just not academically but almost everyone can agree that he'd take note of people's expression here and there.
His suspicions would only grew as your behavior continued to falter each time he tries to get close to you.
He wouldn't confront you at first, perhaps in fear of being too invasive. no. He'd be more attentive, be more caring towards you in hopes you'd cheer up.
But you already know it does the opposite.
"Hey (Y/N) I remembered you said this was your favorite snack, I got some extra madol so here."
"Hey (Y/N)! all that studying we did at ramshackle helped me a lot, look!" He beamed.
"Feeling sore? lemme take a look." Deuce gently held your wrist and started massaging it. "Feeling better?"
You wanted to smile and enjoy the moment... but the thought of seeing him hold back tears as he'd eventually have to see you walk through the Mirror of Darkness one last time gutted you every time.
'All that effort and you're just gonna leave him?'
'Why take the risk if you'll know it'll just leave you both alone in the end?'
Your overthinking led you to isolate from him, distracting yourself from the pain instead of facing it head on out of fear that it would ruin that joyous smile of his. But of course, Deuce's confusion was stirring him like crazy for days on end to the point Ace had to butt in
"Dude... if you're that frustrated with (Y/N), go ask them!" Ace groaned. " You've been looking constipated about it for the whole day. If you think something's wrong, go do it before some classmate gets the wrong impression of your face."
Ace was actually worried about the two of you so
"It's nothing to be concerned about Deuce!" You yelled out.
"nothing to be concerned about??" Deuce snapped. "(Y/N) You still continued to help despite me asking you about the same goddamn question cuz I couldn't get it through my thick head."
"YOU helped me out when picking gifts when I wanted to send some back home. " And you always do this thing where'd you glance at me whenever Ace jokes about my shitty past. Do you have any idea what that does to me?"
"Of course I'd be concerned about the person that stuck by me, when they well...aren't there by my side anymore.
If tears weren't already there, there is now
Deuce would still hate himself for making you cry in that moment as he'd try to comfort you.
In that moment in between your sniffled cries, you explained yourself all the while Deuce held you tighter.
"Why not...take the leap?" He interjected. You looked at him confused. "I mean, gotta live with no regrets and all" He chuckled. "Even if...you still wanna go back home, of course I'll be sad but at least it happened-we happened y'know?"
"You'd be okay with that?" You look up at his teal eyes, the look of determination that made you fall for him in the first place.
Once the relationship is established, I could wholeheartedly see it as a bright one. Sure, there would be times where you or even Deuce himself would breakdown knowing what comes out at the end but there's always reassurance even some butting in from friends Ace.
Deuce would still have that small ounce of hope that you'd stay but he'll respect your decision no matter what.

I remember that scene where Adam and Langa were in the other-dimention place and i kinda of felt horrible jdksbdjk given everything like, no wonder that guy was such a maniac and obssessive towards Langa.
Langa had that one thing that Adam lost, and he wanted to chase after it no matter the cost, so he wouldn't be so alone anymore.
I had to go back and watch that scene because it's one of the scenes I did forget, but I digress!
Yeah, even though Adam's behavior towards Langa is questionable at times, I think that reasons were because of the classic "why are you happy and I'm not".
I don't think I see it talked about, but they work like foils to me. Think about it.
Both are blue haired, tall male characters that share a friendship with someone who someone with a warm hair color (Cherry and Reki) and someone with dark hair (Tadashi and Miya).
Both are talented skaters and have some famous reputation at S. Both even had a moment of humiliation at said place, just at different points in the story.
Langa it was humiliation and then fans.
Adam had fans and then it was humiliation.
And Reki was involved somehow.
There's also how they're opposite to each other.
Langa doesn't care to be flashy as opposed to Adam, their personalities are also very different. It's also to how people react to them.
Again, they both have a lot of popularity in and out of S. However, it's how they got it.
Langa is relatively new and doesn't even interact with a lot of people to gain attention. Adam, on the other hand, has experience with people and showcases.
Both are acknowledged as skate geniuses, yet had to be taught by someone to even get there. And said person is someone close to them.
Someone they want at their side. However, how they treat that person is mirrored.
Let's be honest, Langa really always does have Reki on the mind. Even after their falling out, Langa still thinks about him and tries talking to him. He wanted to share his happiness with Reki, even though at the time he didn't quite understand why Reki was upset. They've only known each other for like, what, months? And yet managed to create this bond so strong that neither wants to be away from each other.
On the other hand, Tadashi worked more as Adam's second hand for years. The relationship even started because Tadashi had been working with his family. While it's evident that Tadashi cares for Adam, it almost seems one-sided at times given how Adam treats him and the comments he says.
While Reki and Langa are mutually all for being at each other's side for infinity, with Tadashi and Adam it's like Tadashi doesn't really have a choice since Adam doesn't have intentions in letting him go, but he accepts it because Tadashi really is the only person that cares for him and is aware of his upbringing.
There's also their families that mirror each other!
Langa has a positive female influence in his life and his father was actually a good dad who encouraged his snowboarding, something he enjoyed.
Adam doesn't have a positive female influence and his father was an ass who discouraged him skating.
When you put all that together, Langa knows what love feels like while Adam craves it. Langa feels genuine happiness in his life while Adam never really had.

Hi!! I love reading your analyses on KP, they are so detailed! I was wondering if you could do an analysis on the first VP scene in ep. 13? I feel like Vegas and Pete are in very different mindsets and that is evident in their dialogue and body language.
Hi! First, thank you! ❤️ Second, OF COURSE! :)
~ Body Language ~
There's so much going on in the way of body language and nonverbal communication in this scene, which definitely clues us in that VP have very different mindsets (as you pointed out). I answered an ask recently about the transition from Pete's post-sex smile in Ep12 to his less-than-thrilled expression in the opening of Ep13, but to sum it up, I think we're seeing Pete after he's had some time to process everything that went down between them and its dangerous implications. His expressions in this opening mirror his feelings later when he says "I don't like it. Then why didn't I say no?" To me, those two lines frame Pete's dilemma for the entire episode--the contrast between hating Vegas for what he's done and caring about him anyway. Pete is understandably confused by the fact that he's currently laying beside the man who has viciously beaten him. While Vegas acts tender towards him now, it's impossible to ignore the fact that Vegas has chained him up again (not to keep referring to other posts, but I talk about Vegas handcuffing/chaining Pete in more detail here).
Tumblr media
Looking exclusively at body language, there are a few things to note. First of all, the camera always shows Vegas right side up, perhaps to mirror the fact that he's feeling on top of the world after what just went down, while Pete is reckoning with something. We can see Pete, but it's harder to distinguish what he's feeling a) because he's upside down and b) he's turned to the side. It's a small detail, but it lets us know that Pete isn't in a good head space. Lighting-wise, I think there's a unique mixture of red, blue, and hints of purple--with an emphasis on the red and blue. Red and blue are Vegas and Pete's individual colors, so the fact that they are somewhat distinct here could be a reference to the fact that while things seem okay between them, they're really not.
Back to how they're laying--I think it is interesting that their bodies are going opposite directions. It could just be an aesthetic choice, but it does create some level of separation between them even though they are still side-by-side.
Final note on this shot^: Vegas is folding his fingers around Pete's hand, but Pete isn't squeezing back. Vegas rubs his thumb against his palm throughout the scene, but Pete just lets his hand lay almost completely limp. Definitely not a coincidence.
Tumblr media
At the end, we see Vegas caress Pete's face, and the lack of eye contact stands out. Vegas keeps watching Pete with a contented expression, while Pete looks at the ceiling. He's not fully in this moment because his mind is elsewhere, probably contemplating his situation and how he should interpret Vegas's behavior towards him.
~ Dialogue ~
The whole conversation is poignant, but there are a few lines that caught my attention.
My brief foray into KinnPorsche twitter brought me to an interesting point. Vegas’s hot-yet-massively-cringey line--
"Do you know how sexy you are?"
--could have some different interpretations. The question seems aimed at Pete’s physical appearance. Vegas could be unintentionally drawing attention to the fact that at this point, Pete is basically Vegas’s sex pet. We know that’s not strictly true--Pete initiated, after all, and Vegas was going to leave it alone otherwise--but it makes sense for Pete to feel bad about it in retrospect. Vegas is making a seductive compliment, but it just drives home the fact that Pete has just willingly surrendered his body to his abuser. It's almost demeaning considering Pete is still Vegas's prisoner; even if Pete had the agency to initiate sex, he doesn't anymore. (In fact, he only had that agency in the first place because Vegas gave it to him.)
V: "At first, I thought I was a freak. Until now." P: "You just have to accept and be true to who you are."
Pete really does sound like a therapist, and Vegas is his patient. But as this episode makes clear, their relationship can't be one-sided any longer. Pete realizes that Vegas treats him according to how he feels in the moment, for emotional projection. I think we're witnessing the gradual realization of this on Pete's side of things--it's only confirmed when Vegas lashes out later. Not to say Pete hasn't already gathered this, but I think the truth is truly setting in here. Even if he can turn away from Vegas and leave all of this behind him, there's no escaping the fact that he was intimate with his abuser. That simple fact is enough to leave anyone distraught and confused.
P: "What I'm feeling, that's all I think about."
This seems like a necessary piece of foreshadowing, as even at the bar with Tankhun, talking with Porsche, etc. Pete's thoughts are clearly elsewhere. He's felt too many conflicting emotions the past few days to suppress them so easily, and we see it creep back into his expression later on. It also explains his far-away looks in this very scene.
P: "Are you gonna say that I'm a good guy?" V: "No, you're just a fool."
Also a bit ironic for V to say this, as Pete probably agrees with him to a certain extent--he can't believe he actually feels something for a guy like Vegas...it makes him feel foolish. Pete's line is also important from a viewer's perspective because it highlights the fact that Pete is a good person thrown into a very distressing situation. The way Pete asks it so skeptically makes me think that he doesn't honestly consider himself a "good person," especially given the fact that he's--as I've said--just gotten sexually involved with a very not good person.
--
Okay, those are my thoughts! Thank you for this ask; writing about scenes like this is one of my favorite things to do! 💕💕 I'd love to write and read more as we head towards the end of the series.
