Alright, but Bruce Wayne with 'Meet Cute' and 'Tragic Love Story' combined? I personally need to get this idea off my chest, so enjoy.
Due to his strained sleep schedule and social life, Bruce would occasionally need a pick-me-up
There was this one Cafe that he enjoyed due to how strong they were able to make the coffee compared to other shops in the city
Normally he would walk in and the employees would start working on his order before he even got to the counter
One day, he was grabbing his cup from the counter when he noticed something unusual on the sleeve of the cup
Holding the cup closer to his face, he takes in the sight of a multicolor butterfly that was 'flying' across the cup sleeve
He turned to the manager with a raised brow, to which the manager looks over at one of the employees at the other end of the counter with an annoyed gaze
Bruce turns his gaze to see you standing there with a handful of sharpies in your apron pocket as you look at both men with a shrug
"I got bored."
Your manager began to give a small lecture on the fact you were getting paid to do a job and doodling wasn't apart of that job
You made a face, which Bruce found slightly amusing, to your manager with crossed arms
"I come in to prep at 3 a.m. for 6 days every week, by myself might I add. I do the work that is supposed to be divided to be done by 3 people. I have to fight you to get 15 minutes out of my hour long lunch. I'm sorry you don't like that I don't actively search for more work to do when I'm already doing more than my 10 dollar an hour pay grade. If you don't like it, fire me. But don't forget that I can sue you for sexual harassment because I'm certain you forgot that the owner put had cameras installed in the freezer to safe guard the minors who work here."
Bruce felt shocked as he glared over at the manager, who was suddenly very quiet and very flustered at your words
Before Bruce was able to tear into this poor excuse of a man, a woman in a formal suit came out of the backroom with fire in her eyes
You smiled as you look from your manager to this woman, who Bruce was assuming to be the previously mentioned owner, asking oh so sweetly if you could go to your break
Bruce watched you walk out the door with a strange curiosity blooming in his mind. Despite having never paid much attention to you beforehand, but now he was wondering what more there was to you
The next couple of weeks, Bruce found himself coming to the Cafe more often in the mornings to interact with you more and to see more of your doodles on his morning coffee cup
He was even subconsciously going to the block on his patrols to make sure you were getting into the shop alright on the days when you opened alone
Eventually, the habits were beginning to get noticed by everyone around him. Tim and Damian noticed he was a bit more cheerful in the mornings when they were taken to school. Jason realized the determination that Bruce put in at 2:57 every night on one block specifically. They were all clueless until Dick, Cass, and Stephanie started rummaging through his office and found the original cup sleeve placed in the back of one of his desk drawers
The next day when Bruce was going to be busy with a meeting with a few shareholders, Dick and Barbara came walking into the Cafe with huge grins on their faces
When they made their way to the front of the line and ordered, they excitedly asked for the barista that was drawing the cup sleeves
When they were pointed to your direction, they went over and started to explain that Bruce had found you interesting and they thought he would want to get to know you better if he could
Barbara pulled up a picture of Bruce in case you didn't quiet remember him. But you smile with a small nod saying the you remembered him from the incident with the old manager
Dick got even more excited as he asked if you would be willing to maybe, potentially, want to go out with Bruce for a date because they bet that he found you cute and was scared to get rejected
Later that day when Bruce had finally gotten home, Dick and Barbara were waiting by the door as they practically were jumping in their spots
They held out a coffee cup to Bruce, which made him feel anxious that they had found out about his small infatuation
He took the cup to see a small drawing of a ticket with a box of popcorn. He saw your name with a phone number with a a simple question. 'Movie on Tuesday?'
Bruce doesn't have time to scold or thank them before they ran off in the manor
He went to his office, closing and locking the door before taking out his phone to send you a quick message about what you might want to watch
He began to think it might have been a bad idea as he started to type that he had the wrong number when he saw a response suddenly pop up
You had confirmed the movie and time that might work with both of your schedules to go watch it
Bruce quickly double checked his schedule before confirming that it worked out for him and suggested to meet up there, he wanted you to feel like you could leave if you ever wanted to during the whole thing
As the day came closer, Bruce felt concerned for the date and if it would be best to back out and spare potential heart ache down the road
But he fought down his worries as he dressed down in casual clothing so he wouldn't be noticed
After getting a pep talk from almost every one of the Bat children, Bruce finally drove to the theater with a few minutes before the meet up time
He was slightly shocked to see you actually standing in front and waiting for him out front in your own style of formally casual clothes
He got out of the car and walked up to you with a slightly awkward confidence with his greeting. The man may have the ability to charm almost any person on a whim, but it was different this time. This time, he was genuinely interested in the person in front of him
The smile you gave Bruce when he walks up warms his heart in a way he hadn't felt in some time
He paid for the tickets and tried to pay for the snacks, but you insisted that you didn't want him to pay for the whole thing
"It's just popcorn and drinks. I've got it this time."
This time. The words had Bruce feeling hopeful for the next date even though this one wasn't even over
Getting settled into the seats, you two delve into light conversation, the occasional laugh slipping in
By the time the lights went down for the movie to start, Bruce had already considered this to be a successful date with how much he felt you two had bonded
The theater was quiet as the movie played, the screen casting a soft glow over all the faces there
Bruce had felt himself truly relaxing for the first time in so long as he sat next to you in the partially full theater
He almost jumped when he felt you suddenly lean into his side halfway through the movie
But he relax before moving his arm around your shoulders as he glanced over to see if it was alright
The small smile on your face as you leaned closer to Bruce made a small flutter to form in his stomach
When the movie came to an end, Bruce kept his arm around your shoulders as everyone walked out into the parking lot
There was small talk about thoughts on the movie before the goodbyes had to be said for the night
He was questioning himself on if a hug would be the best to do or if that would be too forward
You beat him to it as you gave him a small peck to him cheek before saying you would text him to let him know you got home safe
Bruce couldn't help but smile as he drove back to the manor. Completely forgetting about the small army of children that would interrogate him the moment the door opened
He got bombarded with different types of questions from 'did you have a good time', 'what are they like', 'are you going out again soon'
Damian mostly just listened while standing there before he asked if there was a photo of his father's potential consort. Dick says he's got one to show him later
(Bruce makes a mental note to talk to the Damian about appropriate terms to use in relationships and to get the photo Dick has)
Bruce quickly told all of them to go and get ready for patrol as he pushed his way past the entryway
All the children smiled to themselves as the began to go to the Batcave to get their gear together with the intention of getting more information later
Bruce took a moment to breath before feeling his phone vibrate in his pocket. Checking it to see that you had messaged him when you got home and couldn't wait until next time
"This one must be special if you smile at a message."
Bruce looked up at Alfred when he heard that comment, not even realizing he was smiling
Alfred had a soft look in his eyes as he gave a simple nod before walking away for Brice to be alone
Bruce typed a quick message in agreement of meeting up again sometime soon before putting his phone away to get ready for the night ahead
The next few months (yes, months because he wants to be cautious with this relationship), Bruce had tried to make plans at least once every week for dates
Each time the two of you spent time together, he couldn't deny the feeling that he got when being around you. You never tired to bring his money into it and never pushed for the pace to go faster over the course of the whole thing
He even asked if you could be official with each other relationship wise, though not entirely out on the public eye if you didn't feel comfortable with all the sudden attention, which you happily agreed to
He had finally asked if you would want to come to the manor one day to properly meet all the kids, who were all eager to get to meet you
You both agreed on a day and time to have dinner later that same week he suggested it
The night of the whole dinner, Bruce and the kids helped Alfred get the manor cleaned and even assisted in the cooking
They were all excitedly waiting in the living room dressed in their best clothes for the occasion as the time for you to get there getting closer
As the minutes went by, everyone starts to get anxious as there wasn't anoise coming from outside the door
The moment the hour struck, everyone was on edge for the knock on the front door to come at any moment
(If you don't
Alternative Ending
Stephanie and Barbara were trying to be hopeful by saying maybe you just had to change outfits from a last minute stain accident
Tim and Dick were saying that a family thing could have come up and maybe you were trying to get it handled before coming over
Damian had a hopeful tone as he stated that there was most likely traffic and you were just caught in the middle of it (he was really hopeful about his father finding a good partner)
Bruce gave a small smile to all of them before he decided to send you a quick text to ask if everything was alright and if you needed to reschedule for another day
Jason gave a small grunt before grabbing the remote. Turning on the TV as he said that Damian was right and the traffic news would prove it
Flipping through the channels, he finally got to the news channel. And dear God, did Jason wish he could take that decision back
Every one stared in silence as the lights flashed on the screen as they took in the sight of a terrible car crash
A reporter talked about the fact a drunk driver had blown through a 4 way stop and had hit the victim's car that was sadly just at the wrong place
The reporter had said that no name was being given about the victim so family could be informed first and make the proper medical decisions
No name had to be given though as the kid's saw the look on Bruce's face
He didn't need to be there to see that it was your car. He didn't need to get a look at the license plate to tell. He could tell just by the small little decal you had on the back window
Jason quickly turned the TV back off as they all nervously look over at Bruce as he continued to stare at the black screen
No words were said as they each moved closer to, but not touching, Bruce to show their support to him as he slowly processed the whole thing
The sound of his phone going off finally broke the fragile silence of the room. Bruce cleared his throat as he quickly picked up the phone, his hand shaking when he saw your name appear on the screen
He answered with a weak voice before he heard the woman's voice on the other line
The woman said she was your mother and slowly asked if Bruce had seen the news report. He could tell she had been crying even through the phone
She hesitated before explaining that it wasn't good and that the doctors said that after a few tests, it was declared that you were legally brain dead
Your mother chocked for a second before saying that she wanted to give Bruce a chance to say goodbye before the next steps were being taken
Bruce took a moment before saying that he would be there within the hour before hanging up the phone
He just sat there for a second as the silence blanketed the room once again
Alfred placed a hand on Bruce's shoulder before saying that he would drive to the hospital for Bruce
All the kids shared glances before getting up and going to pack away the dinner to give Bruce a minute
Bruce stood up before going to the door as Alfred followed close behind. The ride was silent as Alfred guided through the streets, intently going the long way to avoid the crash site
Bruce walked through the door before going to the reception desk to ask what room you were placed in
After getting directed to what room you were in, he saw a woman standing outside as she talked to a doctor. The woman turned her head and stopped the doctor before ushering him over
The doctor hesitantly walked away as your mother politely introduced herself before explaining the severity of the situation. That even with life support, you would probably not even survive one week with how you got hit
She said that you had talked so happily about the relationship the two of you had and believed that Bruce deserved to have his own goodbye
Bruce felt the words catch in his throat as he hesitants to ask if you would be left on life support or not
Your mom quickly explains the plan you had made for a situation like this before she glances at the room you were in. She offered to let him have the final goodbye in peace
Bruce gives a small nod as he gave her a small hug as he expressed how sorry that this had to be how they had met one another
The moment Bruce steps through the door, he feels the tears form in his eyes as he takes the sight of you laying there, basically lifeless on the bed
He walks over to the bed as his hand reaches out to touch yours
He just stands there for a minute as he stares at your face. His other hand coming up to gently brush his fingers over your cheek
He knows that there nothing he could do to potentially help make you recover. He understood this was going to be the last time that he was every going to get to lay his eyes on you
Bruce leaned down to rest his head on yours as he took a deep breath. Closing his eyes as the words finally seemed to come to him:
"I am so glad that I got to know you for the time that I did. Best thing you ever did for me was drawing on the first coffee sleeve. I'm gonna miss you and I... I love you."
He placed a soft kiss on your forehead before he pulled away. A sad smile gracing his face before walking back out of the room
He wrote his number and address on a small card before telling her that she could come to him if she needed any help
She had a weak smiled as she thanked him before giving him another small hug as she says to make him aware of all the things regarding the funeral and the burial spot
The ride back is just as quiet as the drive to the hospital. Alfred only giving a small glance towards Bruce as they drove up the driveway
Bruce walked through the door to find Dick standing there with a solemn look in his eyes. He tells Bruce that he can take the night to process everything and that he will handle the patrol
Bruce gives a weak nod as he walks through the manor and to his room so he could hopefully get some form of rest
No one had went to check on him to give him a chance to be alone with his thoughts for the night
Bruce just laid on the bed as he replayed all the moments that he had with you. A sad chuckle passing his lip before he decided to get some sleep
The next couple of weeks involved Bruce going to the funeral and going to the cemetery to put a small keepsake there to leave a part of himself there at all times with you
One day when he got back from work, Bruce was about to go to his office to sort out a few case files that he would be needing
There was a package on the desk the moment that he had walked in. He was concerned about what might potentially be in it before he saw your mother's name as the return address
Bruce carefully opened the package to see a picture frame that was carefully wrapped in some bubble wrap
He took out the frame and removed the bubble wrap to find a picture of you smiling at the camera as you jokingly point to Bruce who was behind you in the photo talking to someone off camera
Bruce remembered the day that photo was taken. It was your fourth date at the park and he was buying a snack from one of the vendors
He didn't know you had even taken any pictures that day. He stared at it for a moment before noticing a small note in the box the photo came in
He picked it up to see a small note from your mom
'I asked for a picture of the man that was making my child so happy. This was the one I was sent as I was told that he could be the one. I thought you would want it.'
Bruce stared at card for a second before a grin ghosted his lips. Setting the photo on the corner of the desk, he tucked the card in the corner
Sitting down in his chair, Bruce just admire it for a moment as he took a deep breath. Staring for a moment before getting the files that he needed together

Airport Pickup
Tumblr media
Pairing: Francisco "Catfish" Morales x female reader
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Unprotected PiV, fingering, semi-public sex, established relationship, light dirty talk because I like to think Frankie is a Sex Talker, Tom has a cousin and he's an asshole too
Word Count: 2.4K
Summary: Frankie hates airports when he isn't there to fly or work. The crowds, the noise, endless passengers complaining to airport employees who were just trying to do their jobs and get through the day. But he’s sitting there waiting today for you.
Notes: No use of "Y/N". No mention of Frankie's child. Frankie starts off grumpy but gets a happy ending. Thank you @goodwithcheese for the prompt and prodding, and to my magic slut coven for cheerleading @arcanefox207 @magpiepills 💜
Fuck. Frankie hates airports when he isn't there to fly or work. The crowds, the noise, endless passengers complaining to airport employees who were just trying to do their jobs and get through the day. But he’s sitting there waiting today for you, through a lengthy delay of your flight arrival and then another one.
Six weeks was a long time to be apart. Way too long. It didn't help that you'd been halfway across the globe -- the time zones and your respective work schedules had made it almost impossible to stay in touch other than a couple quick calls and some texts. He missed your conversations, the shared dinners after work, the drawn-out nights of sex. Right now, especially the sex.
Frankie frowns as your text comes in: Just landed. Delayed b/c crew was late. Pilot is Cpt Davis 🙄
Captain Davis -- fuck. Tom's idiot cousin Chad. Frankie hated him. Not only was Chad an asshole, but a shitty pilot too. Frankie had had the misfortune of flying commercial on one of Chad's flights and knew within two minutes that the minor pitch, yaw and roll corrections -- or lack thereof, in this case -- during the particularly turbulent takeoff were an indication that this pilot didn't give a shit about his passengers. Sure, a captain's primary job is to get people safely to their destination, but what happened to having pride in your work? Fucking jerk.
Frankie shakes his head in disgust as he heads to the coffee shop for your favorite order, stopping at a convenience kiosk on the way to pick up an extra pack of Dramamine for you. Just in case.
~~ * ~~
You stare dumbly at ten identical black suitcases endlessly rounding the baggage carousel as people push past you. Why is baggage claim always a shitshow? You were exhausted from 18 hours of travelling and jetlag, and the turbulence during the flight had stirred up your motion sickness so badly that you’d run out of Dramamine. Bed sounded good right now. Just your cozy bed, 10 hours of sleep, and Frankie waking you up with kisses and hot licks of his tongue. Is that too much to ask for?
Frankie had texted to say he was in the waiting area, and you were so eager to see him. Six weeks was way too long to be apart, and everything ached to be reunited -- your heart, your fingers, your cunt. Anticipation had gotten too much on the last leg of your flight and you'd even tried getting yourself off in the tiny airplane bathroom, but no luck. It just wasn't happening and you'd given up in frustration, ending with no orgasm and also a nice bruise from banging your elbow against the sink.
Finally, your neon blue bag (chosen specifically to be unique and bright so you didn't have to think at times like these) comes into sight. You haul it off the carousel and head straight for the exit.
Frustration melts away as you spot Frankie waving, making his way through the waiting crowd. He's wearing a green sweater, the one he only puts on for special occasions as his version of "dressing up". It would be an awful color on most people but it perfectly brought out the golden tone of his skin, the richness of his brown eyes, the chocolate of his curls peeking out under his navy blue cap. It makes your heart skip a beat that he still makes an effort to look good for you.
"Come here." He envelops you in a bear hug and you bury your face into his neck, inhaling the smell of fresh coffee, his leather jacket, his freshly washed hair curling out under his cap. The scent of Frankie. You drink your fill of it, of him, cinching your arms around his broad back and letting your body sigh and melt into his. "I missed you so much."
~~ * ~~
Dim lighting in the parking garage makes it feel even colder despite the long welcoming hug, the hot coffee you’d downed in the elevator, the extra Dramamine, even the pre-warmed comfort of Frankie's leather jacket. You hadn't missed how his eyes had travelled up your bare legs as you put the jacket on, taking in and appreciating the sight of you. He did love when you wore sundresses. Which is why you had changed into one before getting off the plane.
Tucked into a dark corner space is his truck, looking lonely with few other vehicles around. Frankie tosses your suitcase into the bed of the truck and immediately pushes you up against the passenger door to kiss you hungrily, his hands firm on the back of your neck and around your waist to press you closer to him, giving you a proper welcome home. His mouth is warm and inviting, and you slip your tongue inside it to generate and seek out more heat.
"Tired?" he checks in after a couple minutes, breaking the kiss to rest his forehead against yours. "How's your motion sickness?"
"The Dramamine's kicking in now." You shiver involuntarily in your thin dress. "I'm cold though."
"A sundress, in this temperature? Didn't you check the weather here before your flight took off?"
"But I wore it just for you, Francisco," you whisper, nipping at his mouth. "I know it turns you on."
Frankie groans as he slides his hand along your bare thigh, a featherlight touch against the chill-textured flesh. "You're too good to me. Let me warm you up, cariño. Get in the back seat."
Last time you'd been in the back of his truck, you had been splayed across the bench seat, hands tied by and gripping the seatbelts on both sides as he ate you out, coaxing two strong and heady orgasms out of your body as the sun rose over the beach you had parked at. A good memory, one you had recalled several times during the long lonely nights in your hotel room on this trip.
He opens the door, and you eagerly climb in.
Frankie slides onto the seat, closing the door with a firm but quiet click. You climb into his lap and straddle his thighs, letting him pull you close again, his hands roving under the jacket and rubbing your back while yours snake underneath his sweater to borrow heat from his chest. The curve of his neck and shoulder is warm and you gratefully nuzzle your face into it, inhaling his scent again to imprint it in your memory, so happy to be back.
"Mmmm. Really missed you," you breathe into his skin, the cold tip of your nose rubbing circles over his throat and poking under the neck of his sweater to tease his collarbone. "Missed this."
"Me too. So much," he croons, sliding a hand through your long hair. He adjusts the angle of your head just perfectly to kiss you again, gentle at first and with increasing hunger until your tongue traces his plush lower lip, dipping in to slide in and out of its cleft, and he moans into your mouth.
"Fuck. Do that again."
You continue teasing his mouth with the tip of your tongue as his hands descend to grip your ass and grind his hardening cock against your core, rough denim snagging on thin cotton and lace. You're toasty warm now and you shed his leather jacket, also taking his hat off so you can weave your fingers through the curls in his hair, pulling gently as you rock against him, feeling his heat transfer to your center, the tip of his length in his jeans making contact with just the right spot to make you moan as you rut against him.
Frankie takes advantage of your open mouth and slides a finger in. "Suck. Get it wet for me." You comply and swirl your tongue around his finger, licking and sucking and slurping as if it were his cock, savoring the anticipation of knowing it would soon be inside you.
"Good girl." His finger drips with your saliva and he slides it through your folds, his other hand pulling the crotch of your lace panties aside and holding it there. Letting the cold air kiss your heated flesh. "Hmmm. So wet for me already though, aren't you? So hot," he rasps against your throat, feeling the vibration from the sound that travels up and out of it as he slides a second thick finger into your pussy. You clench around their sweet pressure, his fingers always able to reach places inside you that your own can't.
Within seconds you're shamelessly fucking his fingers, rocking back and forth and building more and more heat in your core, his thumb doing a better job against your clit than your own had in the airplane bathroom, when a bright light flashes through the windshield. Frankie grabs you and pulls you down to lie on the seat, covering your body with his as if shielding you from gunfire. Years retired from Delta Force but his combat instincts never fade, apparently.
"What's happening?"
"Security guard on patrol. I know most of them here and don't need 'em catching me fucking in my truck like a teenager," he whispers into your ear as the flashlight glare fades away. "I'd never hear the end of it."
You stare into his eyes, his face hovering just an inch from yours, those brown eyes you love so much looking darker than ever in the dim fluorescent filtering through the truck. You kiss him with hunger and want. "I need you inside me. Please. Can't wait until we get home."
"I got you, cariño. I'm gonna fuck you good. Get up and turn around."
He hauls you back up and turns you to face the front of the truck this time, straddling his thighs again, and you plant your feet on the floor as he pushes you forward, unzipping his jeans and pulling them down just enough to free his cock, hard and leaking precum, eager to sink home into you. His hands roam up the front of your dress and gently squeeze your tits. You feel the prickle of his mustache caressing the back of your neck as he presses kisses there, and you shiver from pleasure this time, not the cold.
"Patrol will be back soon. You're gonna be the lookout while I take care of you, okay?"
You hook your fingers around your panties and slide them all the way off.
"Fuck yes, Frankie. Show me how much you missed me."
Frankie groans and grabs your hips, lifting up the hem of your sundress, and you grab the back of the front seats for leverage and control as he slowly guides the thick tip of his cock through your folds and into the first few inches of your entrance, setting on fire every nerve ending along the way. It's a stretch, always a stretch with Frankie, but especially in this position, your thighs spread wide across his lap and toes just barely brushing the floor. Your back arches against his chest as he slides the rest of the way in, all the way to the hilt, your moan mixing with his grunted sigh to echo through the small enclosed space of the truck.
"You like that?" He gives an experimental thrust and you cry out, for another, for more. "Did you miss my cock?"
"Yes," you whimper, your voice shaking but not hesitant. "So much. Give it to me."
The leather of the seats in front of you is smooth on your fingers as you bend further forward, changing the angle, inviting him to fuck you in earnest and he does, his practiced hand finding your clit without you needing to ask. Frankie always wants to give you the world if he could.
You forget the security guards, the time on the clock until they come back, not caring and soon no longer cognizant of whether time is passing normally or whether you've been suspended in it. The only thing in your orbit is the feeling of Frankie's cock travelling deep into your heat and discovering every sensitive spot inside as if it was the first time he's explored it. Fire and tension build in your core as his fingers dig into your hip to hold you in place, his thumb working your clit in tandem with his thrusts, the rough texture adding an extra sensation that you've never managed to replicate alone.
"Fuck." Half a whimper and half a plea, and Frankie answers it with a loud groan. Your fingers grip the seats so tight that you create marks in the leather. "More, Frankie, please, don't stop. "
"So fucking tight for me, cariño." Frankie sounds utterly wrecked behind you, voice rich and full, his free hand snaking up to clutch the back of your neck, holding you at the perfect angle for him to drive in and out relentlessly, deep and hard the way he knows you crave. "So sweet. Always so good to me when you come home."
Sounds reverberate off the windows: heavy breaths, flesh against flesh, your moans, Frankie's grunts and whimpers as his rhythm inside you starts to falter, both of you close.
A final few strokes of his fingers across your clit and the tight coil inside you snaps, his other hand slapping over your mouth just in time to contain your sounds as you cry out, feeling his cock twitch and pulse as he comes hard, spurting hot inside you. He buries his face in your hair to muffle his own loud groan and it vibrates loud across your scalp and down your spine as you grind your ass into his lap a few more times to draw out the pleasure for both of you, your walls fluttering around his softening cock, until the sensitivity becomes too much.
Collapsing back against his chest is all you can manage and his arms encircle you, holding you close and breathing heavy into your hair. You feel his heartbeat as it winds down, slowing its thumping against your back through the thin cotton of your sundress. Your surroundings take shape as you come down from your high: Frankie has got you. You're home again.
A sudden flash of light through the windshield blinds you both. "Morales? Hey man, I thought that was you! Have fun with your girl, see ya at the bar Friday night!"
You both groan. It wasn't even a security guard -- it was Chad Davis and his frat-boy smirk.
"Fuck me," Frankie sighs in disgust. "I hate airports."

Babysitting 101
Chicago Med
You and Connor babysit Owen so that Will and Natalie can still have their date night after the babysitter calls in sick.
Warnings: None
Requested = Yes
Y/L/N = Your Last Name
Tumblr media
"Nice job back there Dr. Y/L/N," Connor smiled at you.
The two of you had just finished a relatively easy surgery and had returned to the ED to help with the backlog of patients. Between the icy roads and flu season, they could use all the help they could get in there.
"You weren't too shabby either Dr. Rhodes," You shot back and Connor smirked.
"Quit flirting over there lovebirds," Maggie called out, "Y/N you're needed in Treatment 2. Connor, we have an incoming five minutes out, you're going to Baghdad."
"I'll see you after shift then?" Connor quirked an eyebrow and you nodded.
"You bet."
~~~
The rest of your day flew by without any sight of your boyfriend. You were so busy, constantly rushing from one room to next in an attempt to catch up with the schedule.
By the end of your shift, you were absolutely exhausted and wanted nothing more than to open a bottle of wine and put on your favourite movie while snuggling Connor on the couch.
It was that thought that managed to keep you on your feet.
"I am ready to call it a night," You breathed out while you gathered your items, "I don't know if my feet could stand a moment longer."
"Well, they're going to need to find some juice if you want to get to your car," Maggie joked.
You laughed, "Not if I can convince Connor to carry me there."
"I don't think you'd have any trouble," Maggie said and shook her head, "That man is whipped for you..."
You both chuckled at that but you both also knew it was true. Connor would fly to the moon for you.
"Well, have a good night Y/N," Maggie said and left, leaving you to wait for Connor alone.
You quietly waited on the couch for Connor to finish up his last surgery of the day. Nurses and doctors bustled in and out of the lounge and you wished each and every one of them a good night. You were mostly just on your phone, not actively engaging in any other conversation when you overheard your friend Natalie speaking.
"Sorry Will," She was saying, "The nanny just texted. She can't stay later tonight, something with her sister came up."
"Don't worry about it," Will responded, "I'll cancel the reservation then."
You spoke before you could really think things through, "I can watch Owen!"
When your sudden outburst was met with confused silence, you flushed and fumbled with your words.
"I wasn't eavesdropping, I just overheard," You mumbled quickly, "But seriously if you guys need someone to watch Owen, Connor and I can totally do it."
"Connor won't mind?" Natalie asked and you shook your head.
You and Connor hadn't really talked about kids but this wasn't anything like that. All you had to do was look after a toddler for a few hours. How hard could that be?
"We don't have anything better to do tonight anyway," You told them, "In fact, I think it'll be really fun!"
Natalie chuckled at your enthusiasm, "Well I can assure you that it won't be dull."
"Exactly," You pointed your finger at her, "You and Will go on your date. Do. Not. Cancel. Connor and I will watch Owen."
Will and Natalie took a moment to look at each other as if they were contemplating your offer. Finally, Natalie turned back to face you and nodded.
"Thank you Y/N," Natalie said genuinely, "I owe you one."
You shook your head though, "Nah...you don't owe me anything. I'm just glad I can help."
It was decided that Natalie and Will would go and get ready for their date and that they would drop off Owen when you and Connor were back at your apartment. You figured that you should give Connor a heads up but he was still in surgery and you weren't going to disturb him because he was suddenly on babysitting duty afterwards.
He'd get over it.
About ten minutes later, a tired-looking Connor walked into the doctor's lounge and the deepest part of your gut felt bad that you had dragged him into babysitting Owen after a long shift. That guilt caused you to just stare at your boyfriend for a solid minute before he pointed it out.
"What did you do," Connor demanded teasingly as he turned to face you.
You quickly snapped out of your trance, "Nothing!"
"Uh-huh..." Connor raised an eyebrow, "I know that look Y/N."
You feigned offence, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Connor only continued to stare at you and after a while, you finally caved.
"Okay fine," You sighed. "You have to promise that you won't get mad."
Connor nodded, "Okay..."
"I..." You squeezed your eyes shut before opening them again. "I kind of volunteered us to babysit Owen while Nat and Will go on a date."
Silence.
“So…” You stared at Connor, “Thoughts?”
Connor raised an eyebrow, “You voluntarily agreed to look after a toddler…after working a 12 hour shift…”
“Correct.”
The two of you stood there, staring at each other, unmoving. After a hot second, Connor let out a slightly exasperated sigh and ran a hand through his hair.
“Alrighty then, I suppose we should get going then,” Connor gave you a small smile, “wouldn’t want to keep Nat and Will waiting now would we?”
~~~ Perhaps you had underestimated how exhausting looking after a toddler could be.
No, you definitely had.
Dinner had been tiring enough. Somehow more food had gotten on you and Connor than into Owen's stomach.
"You've got a little something there," Connor teased and wiped mashed potato off your eyebrows.
You laughed, "What? Are you sure it's not my new makeup?"
Game after game. Activity after activity. It just didn't end, and yet somehow, it was you and Connor that were tired out, not Owen.
"Y/N!" Owen's little voice gleefully called out. "Come play!"
You huffed but smiled big for the little boy before pushing yourself onto your feet.
Connor couldn't help but chuckle, "Are you having some regrets right about now?"
"Pfttt, never," You shook your head as you sat yourself down on the ground next to Owen. "Right buddy? We're having a blast?"
Connor smiled at you affectionately. He couldn't deny that he was tired but he also had zero regrets. You were so good with Owen. The way you spoke to him. The way you naturally were so attuned to his needs. The way you understood his toddler language.
It took about another hour before Owen's energy began to wane. After a ten minute chase around the apartment, you had managed to wrangle Owen into his pajamas and Connor convinced him to brush his teeth.
Another twenty minutes later and Owen was passed out in bed and you and Connor collapsed on the couch.
"I'm not sure which was more exhausting," Connor joked. "Our twelve hour shift or this."
You teased, "Did a toddler outdo you?"
"Absolutely," Connor shook his head. "I was absolutely outdone by a toddler."
Laughing, you leaned against Connor who wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer to his chest.
"You're really good with him you know," Connor softly said.
You hummed, "You weren't so bad yourself."
"Maybe we should babysit more often," Connor added and you scoffed.
"I think we need a few weeks to recover before making any big decisions."

[ fake it til you make it ― childe ] "'cause i'm a real tough kid, i can handle my shit. they said, "babe, you gotta fake it til you make it" and i did." cw. gn!reader, angst, hurt/no comfort, idol!au, refers to him as ajax for most of the fic, petname (darling), light swearing, toxic workplace, reference to drowning, mentions an unhealthy relationship, post break-up, bottled up emotions (get some help), use of y/n, not proofread
aquamarine's findings. first work on a new blog & also the first of many ttpd songfics... this was way longer in my head, i struggled to put it into words… // i can do it with a broken heart, taylor swift.
since that god forsaken day, life had began to feel like tidal waves, far out at sea. rough, tormenting and pulling your body further and further under with each lap of foaming white waves until you were lost in the riptides, suffocating as water fills your lungs. no matter how much you held your breath every time you were pushed under again, you were beginning to tire; cold, shivering, limp. yet you would continue to hold your breath, bracing yourself for impact. the sky darkens and there's another wave approaching you, ready to shove you below the surface. your eyelashes flutter, accepting it - maybe this is where peace hit you, finally.
"y/n?"
your eyes snap open, quick to squint at the harsh white light of the room that welcomed you back to reality. oh, yeah. you were taking a bath after your schedule for the day, your limbs aching from the hours of practise and rehearsals you'd endured. slowly turning your head towards the bathroom door, you settle back into the world - what was left of it for you. it wasn't much, hollow and void of his presence as your eyes catch the bottle of his shower gel on the side of the tub that you simply couldn't bring yourself to get rid of. after all, it was evidence that the whole affair wasn't a figment of your imagination or some publicity stunt despite the fact you were definitely beginning to question if it was the latter in the end.
"yeah, sorry," you call out, barely above a mumble as you shuffle to sit up from the miniature waves of bath water that was licking at your cheeks like a cat. the sound of the water is all that fills the silence as it trickles and splashes around you, "i think i zoned out."
"you think?" the shrill voice of your manager retorts and you can almost picture her on the other side of the door, her bony hands on her hips hugged by a pencil skirt - she must own millions, - and tight up-do of a bun she keeps greying hair in daily, "y/n you've been in there two hours."
you bite back the urge to let the words 'is that all?' escape your chapped lips, choosing to wet at them with your tongue instead as you finally move stiff limbs to raise out of the bath, pulling the plug and wrapping the soft cotton towel around your shivering body. shivering like you're still keeping your head above water, barely able to breathe. tired eyes land on the sight of your reflection in the bathroom's vanity mirror, the dullness of your eyes standing out more than anything when you realise you'd long lost the sparkle in them when ajax had called off the relationship.
the longer you stare, the longer the person in the mirror doesn't seem like you; not the you you've always known nor the you you've built for the public eye, for the job you buried your youth in. you were an idol, claimed by the critics to be "born for the spotlight" but in reality, it couldn't make you any less than anxious than it already did. all those eyes on you, their whispers and their stares when your life - your business - becomes the hot topic of their dinner conversations, perhaps gossip over coffees and pastries.
at the end of the day, you were nothing but a person on the stage, the screen to them and the world would still keep on revolving.
it was a brief relationship but it meant the world to you. indulging yourself in an affair regarding fellow industry colleague ajax wasn't your brightest move but as the months mellowed out, summer's green grass turning into autumn's golden leaves, it turned into something you didn't regret. the word 'regret' feels bitter on your tongue now despite you still not regretting it but maybe, just maybe, you could have saved your fragile heart in advance. in the end, you learnt that when he said he'd 'love you with all his life,' it was a life cut too short.
ajax - commonly known to the public as 'childe' - was a rapper for an idol group from snezhnaya, one that particularly blew up on social media right now in a popularity burst across teyvat. you'd have few interactions here and there before the two of you reached out to each other on instagram - you learnt that you should have just ignored that dm request.
when you blink, you're back at his side backstage to one of his performances. he's mic'd up, stiff gel in those ginger locks and his freckles so rudely covered by a thin layer of foundation. there's a grin on his face as those icy blue eyes look down at you while a make-up artist brushes the faintest of lip tint onto those plush lips. there's no chance you're stealing a kiss now unless you want to be scolded by his staff team.
"lost in your thoughts again, darling?" he chirps teasingly, nudging you with his elbow. a weak smile filters onto your face as you nervously glance around the dressing room. was this really what you wanted in life? ajax's arm ropes around your waist, his grip tight as he has no intentions to let you go.
and he doesn't, at least he didn't have that intention at the time. every time his eyes landed on you, he saw something fragile, a porcelain dish held together by the kintsugi that was your job as an idol. something he could mould and he knew he could, he was determined. how was he so sure he could? because you'd do anything for survival, even if it means battering your happiness with a baseball bat.
that's exactly what ajax had done with you; moulded you, shaped you and made you co-dependent on him. it had only been a few mere months but you really couldn't live without him, even if it was damaging your job and reputation. he twined you in his fingers like putty, lacing you in and out of every knuckle as he held on tight to you - and then just as the high was starting to fade, he dropped you, shattering you on the ground in a heartbeat.
when you blink, you're staring at yourself in the mirror of your own dressing room and the echo of shattered fine china rings in your ears until your gaze slowly drifts to the staff member by the door, her shaking hands holding an empty tray and her panicked gaze on the broken plate on the ground. there's a furious expression on your manager's face and you brace for the impact that comes but there's nothing, not a word.
instead, the room returns to normality. faces blur as they scurry about and you furrow your brows, looking back at your reflection so that the stylist can continue to work with your hair - you know you're going to hate what he does regardless. your manager's heavy footsteps stop to your left, her arms folded across her chest as her hawk eyes narrow at your reflection. you imagine she's scrutinising every detail of your body and that only makes your heart beat faster.
"you need to move on from that rapper, y/n," she states bluntly after a few moments silence. your breath hitches in your throat, eyes refusing to look up and meet that piercing gaze, "it's affecting your work and the media are catching on."
"i know," you mumble shamefully, unable to find the words to fight back against her. your heart aches for him, wanting to fill the void he's left and to grasp why he did what he had. it wasn't something you'd ever just 'move on' from, "i'm sorry, i'll work on it."
"it doesn't need 'working' on, it needs to happen right fucking now. do you want to cancel this tour early?" her tone is bitter and there's finally a sting in your eyes despite not wanting to ruin your make-up artist's hard work, clearing your throat in a fragile response to her words, "you've got to start faking it. he's only going to hinder your progress if you don't."
"no, i don't. i'll move on, i promise."
lights blind you; the flashing of cameras and phones alike paired with the stage lights and accompanied by the cacophony of screams that come from your fans. a wide grin covers your face, eyes twinkling as you start the first song of your tour's setlist, holding a microphone in your shaking hand. perform, you tell yourself mentally. perform and they'll never be able to read what's going on in your head, they'd never understand if they got a glimpse into your world.
as the crowds scream for more, unharmoniously belting the lyrics along with you, you're glad that they don't notice how ajax has been avoiding you like the plague for weeks, negligent to the way that you are still utterly obsessed and infatuated with him. they don't notice from afar how crystalline tears decorate your eyes while you perform, centre of the stage and under the watchful eyes of the whole world, ready to criticise you if you break.
you're tough, the voice in your mind tells you with a slight waiver in its words as if it doesn't believe itself, you can handle your shit.

Peacefully Morning
It was a peaceful and serene summer morning. Sunlight was filtering through your room's window. The city you live in is incredibly hot this time of year. So much so that even just sitting at home, you could sweat and feel as tired as if you were walking in the desert.
The weather was hot and humid last night. That's why you both slept with white tank tops on. Even though he knew that hugging each other would make you feel more suffocated and hot, Ushijima couldn't sleep without hugging you. You slept on his chest all night. It was a common characteristic of both of you that you did not move in your sleep when you fell asleep. Besides, you were both such a heavy sleeper that you wouldn't wake up even if a missile hit you.
You left your room window open at night. A gentle morning breeze touched your bare shoulders along with the morning sun. Realizing that you had slept enough, your body woke up on its own. You opened your eyes. You breathed in the familiar perfume wafting from Ushijima's neck. It was a sharp and masculine scent. It looked a bit like tobacco cologne.
Ushijima was still in deep sleep. Watching him sleep was your number one hobby. Trying not to wake him up, you got out from under his arm, stepped back a little, and started watching his sleeping face. Her swollen lips and face made her look cute while sleeping. His hair was a little messy. His beard had grown under his chin. However, he shaved every day.
Unable to resist, you slowly moved your fingers first on the ends of his hair, then on his face. Ushijima hummed in his sleep as if he felt your touch. You knew he liked it when you petted him while he slept. You placed your palm on his cheek and caressed his cheekbone with your thumb. On the other hand, you were smiling at his sweet sleeping face.
Last year, you dreamed of going home with your boyfriend of 4 years. Besides, it was your biggest dream to see each other's faces when you woke up every morning, and now you were living your dream come true.
Your boyfriend sleeps next to you and you pet him in his sleep. You hugged each other every evening and woke up looking into each other's eyes every morning.
Then you felt Ushijima's lips touch the palm of your hand. He kissed your hand that was caressing his face, and then his olive green gaze touched you through his opened eyelids.
“Good morning my love” you said smiling at him.
Even though Ushijima wasn't very good at expressing his affection, he loved hearing such sweet words from you.
He said "Good morning" and got back on his back and stretched with his arms outstretched.
“What time is it?” he then asked you in a sleepy voice.
You reached for your phone on the nightstand next to you and opened the locked screen and looked at the time. Of course, the first thing you noticed as soon as you turned on the screen was not the time, it was the photo of you embracing Ushijima that you made as a screenshot.
You answered "09.00"
"It's early," he said as he tried to get out of bed.
You sat up with him
"Don't you want to sleep a little more?"
"Once I wake up, I can't fall asleep again, you know."
You crawled closer to him and wrapped your arms tightly around his waist.
"So, since today is the weekend, what is our schedule?"
"If you wanna be roasted in 30 degree heat, we can go out. I guess you don't know how many times the meteorology has warned on the news."
''I am sorry. I've been wanting to buy ice cream and take a walk in the park with you for a long time. For a moment I forgot that it was scorching hot outside."
"No problem," he said, holding your hands around his waist.
"If you excuse me, I'll shave. And then we'll prepare breakfast together."
''It's possible. I'll go to the kitchen then."
You got out of bed. Your first job was to make the bed before heading to the kitchen. You put the duvet and pillows back in their place and restored the bed you two shared.
Then your eyes caught sight of Ushijima's t-shirt hanging on the chair next to the door. You put it on immediately. You are literally lost in the t-shirt. Its arms reached your elbows and its length came down to your hips. You looked at yourself in the full-length mirror next to your wardrobe.
Your boyfriend's t-shirt suits you very well. You folded your arms, reaching up to your elbows. Now you can move more easily. Ushijima also found you quite cute like this. He would always leave you one of his t-shirts to wear on the days he wouldn't be home. You would never leave it with you and wear it as long as you were at home, even when you went to bed.
As soon as you realized that you were wasting your time watching yourself, you immediately ran to the kitchen. Ushijima loved omelets for breakfast. You were going to make his favorite omelette. You took out the ingredients and cracked the eggs into a bowl and started whisking. Meanwhile, you put the pan on the stove and let it heat up. After making sure it was hot enough, you cut a piece of butter and threw it into the pan. The delicious and appetizing smell of butter spread throughout the kitchen. After melting the butter completely, beating the eggs thoroughly, you poured them into the pan and started frying them well.
You had just cooked two omelettes when Ushijima appeared in the kitchen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
“Are you making an omelette? It smelled so good"
The seriousness on Ushijima's face and tone of voice rarely changed. He said it with his usual attitude, but you knew what was in his heart.
''Yes. If this breakfast is for you, omelet should never be missing from the table.
"It would be great if it was never missing, especially if you are doing it."
He got behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. He breathed in your scent and placed a kiss on your neck.
''Ah! Usha stop! The omelette will burn"
You put the other cooked omelette on the plate. It was obvious that Ushijima wanted something from you. That's why you turned off the stove to prevent the oil from burning. You turned towards him in his arms holding you tightly and wrapped your arms around his neck.
"Yes, my lord. What is it your desire from me this morning?” you asked gently.
''Nothing. I wanna only you''
''Really?''
He nodded his head yes. You buried your head between his shoulder and the crook of his neck. He was freshly shaven, and there was a strong smell of tobacco cologne coming from his neck. You loved that scent, so you inhaled deeply from his neck. He hugged you tightly around your waist with his strong arms.
"Usha, you smell so good." you mumbled.
He grabbed you by your waist, lifted you up and sat you on the counter. For a moment you were surprised at what happened.
“Oh? Usha, what are you doing?"
"I wanna eat you for breakfast today"
His feelings of lust must have awakened in the morning. You weren't in the mood right now.
''Please. Now is not the time to be naughty. Come on, the omelettes will get cold. "And we haven't even prepared breakfast yet."
You were about to get off, but he held you tightly and prevented you from getting off the bench. "Why don't you let me kiss you?"
"How did you get the idea that I didn't give permission?" I'm just saying we need to make breakfast right now. Also, what's the rush? "I'm not running away anywhere, I'm here."
He placed his forehead on yours. On the other hand, he started caressing your bare leg. The part covered by the t-shirt was peeling up
"You're wearing my t-shirt. When I see you like this, I have a hard time not kissing you. It's not just that. "I want to do even more"
You took his face between your hands and made him look at you. "If I kiss you, will you take me off this counter and then help me prepare breakfast?"
"I will," he confirmed.
You wrapped your arms tightly around his neck and gave him a passionate and deep kiss. Your tongues danced with each other for a few seconds. When your lips parted, you looked at the saliva stretching between you like a rope.
You asked, "Did you get what you wanted?"
The answer you received was enough to satisfy you.
''Yes''
''Ok. "Help me now then"
You prepared whatever you needed for breakfast together. You cooked the omelettes, and Ushijima chopped tomatoes, bread, cheese and cucumbers. You took out the plates, filled the tea and started the day with a delicious breakfast.
After eating delicious food, you brushed your teeth. At that moment the door rang. You were about to open the door when Ushijima stopped you.
''You stop. I'll get the door"
You went to the living room and sat on the couch with your feet up. You realized that it was the courier who came to the door. Because he asked for Ushijima's signature. After Ushijima closed the door and came to you, you sat up curiously.
He had a magazine in his hand
''What's that?''
He sat next to you and showed you the magazine
''Monthly volleyball magazine. I've been waiting for this for so long. I ordered it two weeks ago"
Ushijima himself was on the magazine cover. The moment he jumped to dunk was professionally photographed
"Oh! I can't believe it, Usha! "You are on the cover of the magazine"
“It's not just that, y/n. The interview I gave last month was also published in this magazine. Let me take a look, it should be on the following pages.
He flipped through the pages of the magazine, found the page about himself, and opened it for you both to see.
''Here it is''
You read the interview carefully and the part that really caught your attention was the part where he talked about being a big supporter of Ushijima.
''Wow! So, you also mentioned that you have a big supporter.
''Certainly''
''You are right. The whole school admired you in high school, now almost the whole country."
“I didn't mention that, y/n.”
You were stunned by Ushijima's statement.
''What? How?''
"Unlike that unnecessary crowd, I have only one supporter. And that's you. Next time, after the match, I want to take you in front of the cameras and announce to the whole country that you are my biggest supporter."
Your heart started to pound. A smile spread across your face and you couldn't help the blush on your cheeks.
You jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly.
“I love you Usha. I'm proud to be your supporter"
He hugged you tightly and said he was proud of your support.
"The more I feel your support, the stronger I become on the court. Always be with me y/n. I love you''

Lilia x You. Reader knows how to sew clothing(while author does not)
Based off Suitors suit vignette. Technically it's a continuation of the story, so make sure to read the vignette before this fic
A lot of background characters, but I'm not tagging all of them
A bit non-linear storytelling?
The suit was made of magic, meaning it will disappear after a certain amount of time. The fact that such a beautiful sight is not going to stay here for long made your heart ache. And yet, you continued to smile and tried your best to memorize every tiny detail of the tuxedo. You had a plan, after all.
"Feast your eyes while you still can!" said Lilia. The tuxedo Malleus created for him was just marvelous! You and Sebek competed in who's going to complement Lilia more while his face was shining with a smile. Your face did too, it even hurt a bit to smile so much.
The next couple of months casually went by in your room, as you hunched over your secret project. If only your school life wasn't so busy and sometimes downright chaotic, you might have finished it sooner... And if the cruel thing that is perfectionism wouldn't criticize your every move.
After a few not-so-successful, to put it lightly, attempts, you finally finished recreation the suit Malleus made for Lilia back when ghosts that invaded the school for a marriage ceremony left.
Your first attempt failed because you were so obsessed with the idea of recreating the outfit you forgot to take Lilia's measurements. While the final product turned out to be quite nice, it wouldn't fit Lilia at all. Also you didn't have some accessories the original outfit had, which you noticed only at the end.
And so, you began anew, but now without the fabric you intended to use. The end result turned out too different from the tuxedo you remembered. The shade of green? Too vibrant. The pattern on the ribbon? Wrong. The pants? Actually quite nice, but that's the only part of the outfit you liked. And after your sewing machine unexpectedly broke you lost all the crumbs of motivation there were left...
Thankfully, you became a good friends with some students at NRC. While you were earning money for a new sewing machine, Vil and Kalim searched for the fabric and accessories that matched Lilia's suitor suit. Vil didn't get to witness the tuxedo, so you and Kalim had to explain how it looked like. You even showed him all the sketches you made and the first attempt suit as an example.
"Wow, your skill is really shinning here!" Kalim carefully examined the suit from all angles together with Vil. "It's really unfortunate your sewing machine broke... Are you sure you don't want me to get you a new one? It's going to be way faster than working in Mostro Lounge for a whole month."
"That's right, but I'm already asking you for help, you know. It won't be so fair if you do everything for me!" you answered and looked at Vil, who's also visibly impressed by your skills.
"The stitching is quite nice, you clearly took your time to make it the best suit it could be. I'm glad to see you actually listened to the advice I gave you during previous projects. Alright, I'll lend you a hand as well. Just remember that my schedule is tight, so it will take a while to find everything you need."
"Thank you both so, so much!" As you said that, Kalim came closer to give you a big hug. He was super excited to see how it will turn out!
After mountains and mountains of work, you left out a sign. Not out of exhaustion or frustration, but out of relief. You did it. You DID it! Finally, even when it seemed like the whole universe itself didn't want you to complete the suit, you did it!
"Good job." A sudden pat on your back woke you up from all the thoughts. It was Vil who just entered the room. After a minute or so, Kalim came here too.
"Sorry for making you wait!" He panted and leaned on the closest wall. "Oh, I got so scared when I couldn't find the Albert chain I had to call Jamil and a couple of other Scarabia students for help. We found it! It's the same one I gave Lilia that night."
"Wait, if that's the same one... Is it really okay for me to take it? You could get something similar, but..."
"But? I thought you wanted to make 1:1 recreation. Why are you backing up now?" Vil asked with a frown on the face. You pulled him closer and whispered:
"Because it costs 10 million thaumarks!" Such shocking information left Vil speechless for a minute.
"Well, I thought the original one would suit him better! So here it is." As Kalim said that, he placed the Albert chain with a bat on the outfit. You looked at your creation, the exact copy of the tuxedo Malleus has created with magic. Even though some tears appeared on your eyes, your face radiated joy. You finally did it.
It was an after-school evening when you decide to gift Lilia the suit you've been working so hard on. As you roamed around Diasomnia dorm, something poked your back. Strangely, when you looked back there was nothing and no-one. So you turned your head forward and immediately got spooked by upside-down Lilia!
"Ehehe." He smiled mischievously, yet still helped you to get back up. "It's rare to see non-Diasomnia students here at such time. Could it be that you're looking for someone?" Lilia's eyes were set on the box you carried, it was wrapped nicely, like a birthday present.
When your heartbeat calmed down, you remembered the words you prepared in your head. "Yes, there is... But I'm not sure if they'll actually like the present I made. Could you take a look?"
"Oh? A skilled dressmaker like you wishes to hear my opinion? I would be more than glad to assist you." Your heart skipped a beat. Did someone tell him about your secret project? Who could that- oh, probably Kalim, since they're in the same club. And even if Kalim didn't tell it exactly to him, but Cater instead, Lilia would still find out. But maybe Lilia doesn't actually know and said it just because?.. You're kind of known for your great sewing skills. Or... "Let's do it in my room, I was right on my way there." You brushed off the haunting thoughts away and headed to Lilia's room, trying to calm down.
His face beamed with happiness when you let him unwrap the present. Although at first he wondered if it was really okay. "It would be rather troublesome to wrap it back up when you're going to gift it to that person."
"Don't worry, I won't have to do it." A surprised gasp echoed in the room. Lilia carefully picked up the tuxedo, examining every detail. He couldn't believe his eyes. "So, what do you think?"
After a minute of silence, he smiled. "I still remember this tuxedo. I'm really proud of Malleus for coming up with such an elaborate design. And I'm really proud of you for recreating it up to every single detail." As Lilia said that, his eyes began to tear up a bit. "That night I wore a tuxedo for the first time in my life. It's hard to believe I can re-experience that moment again."
"Do you wish to wear it right now?" While you did take Lilia's and some other students'(to make it less suspicious) measurements long time ago, anxiety kept telling you you might have made a mistake at some point.
"I'm eager to wear it!" You smiled unknowingly when Lilia's gentle laugh reached your ears. In a couple of minutes you re-entered the room to see him happily dancing in the suit you made. The moment he saw you he reached for your hand. "Would you mind to dance with me for a moment? Such a delightful gift deserves a special thank-you!"
Blush painted your cheeks red, and heart began to beat faster with joy and excitement. You happily accepted Lilia's offer, taking his hand in yours. And so, you danced around the room. At one point Lilia began to hum a sweet melody. You joined him, and you both hummed in unison while dancing across the room.
You knew this moment, no matter how joyous and bright, would end eventually. So you made sure to enjoy every last bit of it, engraving it in your memory for eternity. And so did he.

a/n: i'm pretending there are no more injuries! manifesting i guess. i'm so sorry this took so long. the end of the semester was really tough for me but i have the next three weeks off, so i will try my best to get a few more updates out. i'm thinking two or three more parts until this series is over.
warnings: this episode talks (briefly and not in detail) about depression, anxiety, and shitty parents. it's not too bad, though. more hurt/comfort than angst. even then, bordering more on the comfort side.
i am going to once again reiterate that the schedule of games does not follow real life. i'm going based on vibes and vibes alone.

"sim, we need you to settle something for us."
sim's heart dropped at the sight in front of her: mary and millie, both in their training kits, arms crossed with no hints of a smile on either of their faces.
"whatever it is, i'm sure someone else could-"
"it has to be you, because you're the most impartial person here right now," millie cut sim off.
"and we trust you to be honest," mary added.
sim's face contorted with confusion.
"who would win in a fight? me," mary gestured with her hands towards her own body, "or millie?"
"nope!" sim replied to the question. "i refuse to get involved."
sim knew better than to definitively answer any sort of question like that. no matter who she picked, she would pay for it in the form of relentless teasing or tickling.
her eyes darted around the meal room, looking for a savior to come to her rescue. she gulped almost comically when she saw there the few people around were otherwise occupied.
"it's alright, darling, you can admit that i would absolutely wreck mearps here. as vice-captain, i'll make sure she can't attack you for it."
as tempting as millie's offer was, sim was almost certain that millie could only protect her for so long.
"how about i ask the fans?" sim prompted.
now it was their turn to look confused.
"i'll put a poll up on the instagram or something," sim added, pulling her phone out of her pocket.
"see, this is why it was a genius move to hire you. smart, she is," millie praised.
a blush took over sim's face as she fiddled with the phone she'd just pulled out of her pocket.
across the meal room, leah watched on fondly as georgia and keira conversed around her. it was nice to see sim come out of her shell a bit more around the team. though leah still had the distinct feeling that it would be a while before the younger girl felt comfortable being vulnerable around them, it still brought her a sense of relief that sim was no longer so painfully shy. she actively participated in the conversations and shenanigans typical of the team.
the team had taken well to sim's steady presence, adopting her as though she was a playing member of the lionesses.
it had only been a few months since their conversation on those bleachers, but leah could already see the difference it was making. sim looked... lighter, in a sense. like the weight on her shoulders had eased. leah was starting to to see a light in sim's eyes that hadn't been there when they had first met.
"what are you lookin at?" georgia asked.
leah's lips turned up in a slight smile as she nodded her head in sim's direction. "remember how closed off she was when she first got here?"
keira shifted her gaze, smiling when her eyes settled on sim's figure filming mary and millie.
"she's fit in quite well," keira agreed.
"she's cool. she said she'd let me tattoo her once i've properly learned how," georgia added, nodding her head.
"she what?"
-----
sim sighed, settling into soft sheets. sarina had permitted her to room with alessia at st. george's park and sim had never been more grateful.
she closed her eyes, the melody of alessia's singing wafting in from the bathroom, its door left ajar. she let it ease the tiredness that had settled into her bones.
this particular camp was exhausting. she knew it wasn't her job that was draining her energy at this point. the federation had recently hired a few other people to help out in the social media department so sim was now only in charge of the instagram, twitter, and tiktok. the longer form content and brainstorming was no longer under her purview.
sim suspected leah and sarina had something to do with that. she'd been annoyed at first, but was now incredibly thankful for their interference.
despite that, sim was still feeling drained and on edge. it frustrated her that she couldn't put a reason to the way she was feeling.
the past few months had been good to her. her relationship with alessia was blooming into something beautiful. there was no pressure when alessia around, and sim was starting to become accustomed to the light and airy feeling that came with her presence.
sim had fallen into a steady routine. now that her workload with the lionesses had significantly decreased, she had a lot more time on her hands. though her pay from the lionesses hadn't gone down, sim had still taken up a casual job at arsenal as a photographer. though she'd majored in communications in uni, she had minored in visual media.
working with the lionesses was fulfilling, no doubt, but sim missed the more creative aspects of her visual media minor. alessia had proposed the idea of working with arsenal one day during an impromptu photoshoot, sim taking random photos of alessia as they spent an off day lounging at home.
jonas was used to seeing sim's face and after a quick conversation with the higher ups, sim had secured a press pass.
in the mornings, sim and alessia would meet up with beth, viv, and leah for a quick coffee before training. she'd spend the day at colney with the team, taking pictures. she had befriended laura and teyah, the two remaining members of the ACL squad. after training was done for the day, alessia would drive her home, the two spending the rest of the day together.
sim hadn't moved in with alessia, but she spent more nights at the blonde's place than her own.
once or twice a week, sim would accompany alessia to team bonding. she stayed in contact with ella.
sim was content with her life. happy, even.
the way she was feeling now, however, had her scared. scared that the feeling would linger and turn into something heavier. scared that she would slip back into old ways, having to push herself just to get out of bed in the mornings, to eat something, to want to exist.
sim didn't want to go back there. she didn't want anyone to see her like that. more importantly, she didn't want alessia or leah to see her like that. she didn't want to be a burden. the two gunners deserved better than that.
"hey, baby."
sim was broken out of her thought process by alessia's voice, followed by a quick peck to her forehead.
sim hummed in response, moving over to make space for her girlfriend on the bed. alessia set her kit and toiletries off to the side before sliding in beside sim, pulling the comforter over the two of them as the younger girl turned her back to assume the little spoon position.
sim breathed a sigh of relief as alessia's arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her close, almost cradling sim to her front. she felt some of the tension leave her body as alessia pressed a gentle kiss to her neck.
"are you alright, love?"
sim contemplated telling the truth for a moment, ultimately deciding against it. it's not even that bad. i just need to grow up, she reasoned with herself.
"yeah, just tired," sim replied.
"can you turn around for me?"
of course alessia would see right through her. it was honestly frustrating at times.
sim had always been good at lying, something she'd had to learn to survive her parents when she was younger. however, alessia could always tell when sim was lying.
not that sim made a habit of lying to her girlfriend. she just wanted to shield alessia from the darker parts of herself for as long as possible.
"love?" alessia prompted.
sim turned with a sigh, keeping her eyes closed. she would crack as soon as she made eye contact with alessia's baby blue eyes.
alessia's hand came up to sim's face, pointer finger tracing the subtle crease between her eyebrows.
"can you open those pretty eyes for me, baby?"
sim relented, never having been able to refuse a request from alessia. leah never let her forget it.
sim's eyes fluttered open, causing alessia to frown at the clear exhaustion evident in the set of her eyes. "what's wrong?"
again, sim debated whether or not to tell the truth. she had almost settled on trying to lie, but her resolve crumbled at the look of concern painted on alessia's face.
how could anyone ever lie to a face like that?
"everything just feels... heavy. it's hard to explain. it's like my entire being is just exhausted. especially my mind. there's just this weight over everything."
it was silent for a few beats. alessia's hand came to rest on the side of sim's face, her fingers gently scratching at sim's hair.
alessia considered her next words carefully. she was thankful that sim was starting to open up to her and all she wanted to do was help. to alessia, what sim was describing sounded a lot like depression, but she didn't have nearly enough information or qualifications to come to that conclusion. she also didn't want to push too far with her questions and cause sim to shut down again.
alessia settled on a question that would allow sim decide how much or how little to reveal.
"do you feel like that very often?"
"not anymore," sim whispered out, averting her eyes. "it's not that bad right now. i actually feel good most days. i still feel better than i did before the FA hired me. i'm just tired the last few days. don't know why."
though it concerned alessia that this feeling seemed to be somewhat familiar to sim, she was also happy to hear that things were okay at the moment.
"that's alright. everyone has bad days. what do you need from me right now, my love?" alessia asked, pulling sim closer, the hand that was on sim's head pulling the girl's head to her chest.
sim's eyes teared up slightly at alessia's actions. she had never felt so loved and cared for. it quieted the insecurities that plagued her mind, that constantly told her she was too much but at the same time never enough for alessia.
"i just want to be with you right now."
despite the waver in sim's voice, alessia's heart melted.
"alright, love, i've got you," alessia replied, pressing a quick kiss to sim's temple before shifting so she was on her back, sim automatically placing her head on alessia's chest, curling into her side.
sim let the warmth wash over her, grabbing a fistful of alessia's sleep shirt as she tried to snuggle closer.
"thank you," sim breathed, drowsiness starting to take over.
"you don't have to thank me. i'll always be here."
"i love you," sim said without thinking.
there was a moment of silence and sim's heart dropped.
of course, she just had to go and fuck this up too. they hadn't said it yet. why did you have to go and ruin the moment? she thought to herself.
her muscles tensed before she moved to pull away, but she was stopped by alessia's arms squeezing her tighter.
"i love you too," alessia said back. sim could almost hear the smile in her voice.
-----
the lionesses' next game was against spain, a world cup rematch. it went without saying that the girls were a mix of excitement and nerves. everyone dealt with it in their own way.
leah was immersed in film of barca and spain in the days leading up to the match. she remembered how helpless she had felt watching the world cup final and was determined to lead the team to a win this time around. it didn't matter to her that this was a friendly, that great britain had already qualified for the olympics.
millie could often be found beside leah, the two huddled over a tablet.
esme had created so many friendship bracelets that she had to order more thread.
katie had taken a bunch of the girls around town shopping, going to different coffee shops and trying to stay distracted.
ella had organized a mariokart tournament in one of the conference rooms for the girls that had stayed behind.
alessia was beside herself with nerves and had opted to waste away in her room under the guise of resting. sim had tried her best to assure her girlfriend, but her duties as social media admin made it difficult to get time alone with her.
sim was relieved when her latest round of meetings with the other media staff was over. she wanted nothing more than to care for alessia.
sim quietly eased the door open in case alessia actually was sleeping. when she turned after closing the door, it was to the sight of alessia sat on the bed, staring into the space above the television as it played old episodes of friends. her heart panged a little at the sight.
sim walked over to the bed, making a quick plan in her head. she knew that nothing she said was likely to make alessia feel better, so she settled on physical comfort.
alessia was shaken from her trance by the soft kiss sim placed on her temple.
"today's a hair wash day, right?" sim mumbled against alessia's skin, getting straight to the point.
"yeah, why?"
-----
twenty minutes later, sim was sat on the couch with alessia sat on the floor between her legs, the pair watching old episodes of superstore, sim's hands massaging coconut oil into the blonde's scalp.
"how did you even think to do this?" alessia mumbled.
"oiling hair is just a thing desi people do. i don't remember the exact origin. different people use different types of oil for different reasons. my maasi* used to do coconut oil before a wash once a week. in the winter, when our hair was dry and frizzy, she would rub baby oil just into the ends every now and then." (*maasi is mother's sister or cousin sister)
"yeah, but why are you doing this now?" alessia prodded. considering this was the first time she had heard sim voluntarily speak about her family, alessia didn't want to push too hard, but she was curious.
not that she was complaining. the massage was doing wonders for her headache and she was more relaxed than she had felt in weeks.
"just noticed you were stressed. obviously, i've never been in the same situation as you so i can't do much in the way of words. but i remember how relaxing this was for me so i figured i would share," sim replied somewhat sheepishly, hands stilling.
alessia was overwhelmed with affection for the younger girl. it was almost offputting how easily sim could read her, how she could anticipate what alessia needed before she herself knew what that was.
alessia reached a hand up to squeeze sim's arm, unable to vocalize how she felt in the moment.
"the massage part is almost done. then we need to let the oil sit for at least a half hour, and i'll wash it out for you."
the pair fell silent, no words needed between them. when it was time for a rinse, alessia sat on the ledge of the tub, leaning gently on sim's body behind her.
"as much as i am loving this right now, i'm going to have to ask you to hurry it up before i fall asleep here," alessia said, breaking the silence.
sim chuckled softly before turning on the water, using the handheld shower to rinse alessia's hair.
"thank you for this," alessia spoke, grabbing a soft towel to dry her hair off.
"you don't have to thank me," sim said shyly, a blush creeping on to her face.
alessia turned to look at sim, and the younger girl almost melted under the tenderness of alessia's gaze.
alessia knew that it was hard for sim to accept any gratitude, so settled for rushing forward and wrapping the girl up in a tight embrace, arms settling around sim's shoulders as hers wrapped around alessia's waist.
sim rested her forehead against alessia's sternum. sim's family never showed any physical affection, so it had taken her a while to get used to just how touchy her girlfriend could be, but sim would be lying if she said she didn't come to love it.
"let's head to bed, yeah? i'm going to fall asleep standing up and take you down with me. then you'll have two bad knees," alessia giggled.
"and then you'd have to carry me everywhere and we can't have that, can we? because then you'd have bad knees and leah would have my head!" sim replied with a chuckle, turning alessia's giggles into full-blown laughs.
-----
the cloud that seemed to be following sim around refused to fully recede, always lingering around the edges of sim's consciousness.
she had done a well enough job of hiding it from everyone. she'd made the effort not to push people away, but that didn't mean that she was asking for help either.
a part of her still felt ashamed and annoyed at how she was feeling. her life was the best it had ever been, so why was it so difficult for sim to just suck it up and enjoy it?
it was currently match day -1, and the lionesses were doing some light training on the pitch before they would head inside for a film session and tactics meeting.
sim was bundled up against the cold on the sidelines, filming when she needed but mostly just watching her girls work. the jealousy she felt while looking at them hadn't abated completely, but she could mostly shove it down and not let it become a problem.
"how's it going?" ella nudged sim, having made her way over after sarina concluded the training session.
"yeah, i'm alright, you?"
ella wrapped an arm around sim's shoulder, starting the walk back to the locker rooms as she chatted about something joe had said to her a few weeks ago.
alessia stole sim back from ella as the team filed into the locker room.
"hey! you get to see her everyday!" ella whined, making grabby hands as alessia steered sim towards her own cubby.
alessia simply stuck her tongue out at ella before gathering the things she needed for a shower and stepping out.
"oh! my family is all coming out for the game tomorrow, so don't run off with alessia so quick because i want you to meet them," ella said, grabbing sim's arm and setting her down on the bench in front of her own locker.
a nervous smile took over sim's face. "really?"
though the idea of meeting ella's parents was admittedly nice, it make sim more anxious than anything else.
"oh, yeah, they'll probably end up liking you more than me," ella responded jovially, trying to pull sim out of her head.
"speaking of," leah interjected, "sim, do you need tickets for any guests of yours? i can probably get them into the friends and family section."
sim immediately stiffened. she couldn't have this conversation with the team. not today, when she was already feeling so on edge.
"oh. no, i don't have anyone i'm bringing to the match," sim said, trying to make it clear with her tone that this wasn't a topic she was willing to elaborate on.
unfortunately, it seemed no one got the hint.
"what, parents couldn't make it?" millie chimed in.
"nah, they're not around anymore," sim said with a sigh, trying to brush it off with a wave of her hand.
however, it seemed to have the opposite effect. there were a few silent moments of tension before rachel's voice cut through.
"i'm really sorry to hear that."
sim's brow furrowed in confusion before she realized how her statement sounded.
"oh! no, don't be. i'm pretty sure they're still alive, we just don't... we're estranged. we don't talk anymore," sim rushed to clarify. the last thing she wanted at the moment was sympathy. especially when it came to her parents because the truth was, she was much, much better off without them in her life.
there was still a lingering tension in the locker room, though the air had lightened considerably. this was the most the lionesses had heard sim say about her family. even leah didn't quite know what to say. she settled for taking a seat beside sim, whose face still donned the same look of confusion.
she didn't understand why this seemed such a big deal.
"you don't want to reach out? mend things?" rachel continued quietly.
"trust me, it's better for everyone if we stay very far away from each other," sim said with a chuckle.
she cut herself off when she realized no one was laughing with her.
"you can't know that for sure. you should consider extending an olive branch, while you still can." rachel had turned to face sim properly now, almost a pleading note in her voice.
sim's back straightened, hands clenched into fists in her lap.
she took a deep, grounding breath before speaking. "look, i'm telling you, my parents and i do not talk anymore and it's for good reason. i don't owe anyone an explanation. please, drop it."
leah didn't think she had ever heard that level of iciness in sim's tone. she looked at sim, biting her lip as she did. it was like looking at the face of a different person. sim's face was completely blank, not a trace of emotion to be seen.
leah didn't say anything, figuring that rachel would respect the younger girl's wishes and stop pushing.
that didn't seem to be the case.
"i just don't see what could have happened that you're okay with never speaking to your parents again." rachel's voice had taken on an accusatory tone.
millie placed a hand on rachel's shoulder, trying to signal to her best friend that she should stop before things got too heated.
before leah could say something herself to defuse the tension, sim stood abruptly.
"rachel, i respect where you're coming from. really, i do. but i'm starting to get very frustrated with this conversation, so i'm going to leave before i say something i regret."
with that, sim left the locker room, the rest of the girls stunned into silence, only the sounds of sim's cane hitting the floor being heard.
"well, i think that is the politest way i've ever heard someone say 'fuck off,'" said millie.
leah stood to go after sim, but beth beat her to it. "i'll go," she whispered. leah nodded before rounding on rachel.
rachel looked like a fish out of water with the way her mouth opened and closed, searching for words.
"i know your heart was in the right place, but you pushed too hard. just be gentler next time, yeah?" leah asserted, her voice stern but not unkind.
"i'm sorry, i just-"
"it's okay. it's not me that you should apologize to. and don't take her reaction personally, alright? i don't even think alessia knows the full story about her parents."
-----
alessia walked back to her cubby, running a hand through the tangles in her damp hair. by the time she was pulling on a hoodie, she noticed a few things.
for one, her girlfriend was not where she had left her.
secondly, the few stragglers still in the locker room had their eyes trained on her, but averted them when she returned their gazes.
tooney was also stood awkwardly in the space around alessia's cubby, as though waiting for her.
"what?" alessia spoke with a frown, looking to ella when everyone else refused to meet her eyes.
"well..." ella's voice trailed off. she wasn't quite sure how to explain the situation without framing it like an argument and blowing it out of proportion. she did not want to be caught up in the middle of the awkward tension that now permeated the space.
"what?" alessia repeated, her voice now stern.
"look," ella said, holding a placating hand up to alessia, "it's not bad. there was just a conversation about sim inviting her parents and things got a little... tense? but everyone is fine, and beth went to look for sim."
confusion was replaced with concern and a little bit of anger.
"a conversation with who? where is she? is she alright?" alessia rushed out.
"you should hear it from her. i don't know where she is, but beth went to look for her, so it's okay. don't worry. it wasn't a big deal."
that was the thing, though. alessia wasn't sure that it wasn't a big deal.
sim's parents had come up in conversation a few times, but the most sim had ever let on was that they were no longer in contact.
it wasn't for lack of trying. however, the few times alessia had tried to venture further and pushed, sim had shut down, going almost completely silent and stony-faced. each time, it took hours to bring the girl back out of her shell.
the fact that sim wasn't feeling herself recently didn't do anything to ease the concern she was feeling.
with those memories in mind, alessia rushed out of the locker room to find sim and beth herself.
-----
beth looked everywhere for sim. she checked back on the training pitch, in the bathroom, the meal room, the media office, before finding her figure sat in a corner of one of the physio rooms.
beth's heart melted at the expression on sim's face. it was clear from the tightness in sim's jaw and shoulders that she was trying hard to keep her emotions in check.
sim was so caught up in whatever was going on in her head that she didn't notice beth's presence until she felt a hand settle on her clenched fist, forcing it open.
beth frowned at the indents in sim's palm from where her nails had dug into the skin.
"i'm sorry," sim rasped.
"what for? you didn't do anything wrong. i actually think you handled that in a very mature way."
beth's words seemed to fall on deaf ears as sim continued rambling.
"i'm not angry with rachel. i promise, i'm not."
beth shook sim's hand, prompting her to look up. "even if you were angry, you're allowed to feel that way. clearly, she pushed you on a topic that was sensitive for you," beth said gently, almost as though she was explaining something to a child.
"but she didn't know she was pushing. rachel didn't do anything wrong either. i can see where her reaction came from. she lost her father, and i know that he meant a lot to her. she would probably do anything for a little more time with him. i just-" sim ran her free hand through her already messy hair.
beth stayed silent, prodding sim to go on with a nod of her head.
"it's just that not all of us got lucky with our parents. i'm happy she has a great relationship with hers, trust me, i am. but some people have shit parents, and don't want to be pushed into mending bridges that were burned for good reason."
beth noted sim's reluctance to use the word "i" instead of "us" but chose not to say anything. as far as she knew, this was the most anyone had gotten out of sim about her parents.
"her heart was in the right place, but she was still insensitive. she could have been a bit kinder to you. i lost my mum too, so i know where she's coming from, but i also know that not everyone has nice parents like mine or hers. you don't have to defend rachel to me, alright?"
sim nodded, resting her head on beth's shoulder.
"you don't have to talk about what happened with your parents, but i'm here to listen if you decide you want to. i'm sure the same goes for the rest of the girls as well," beth continued.
a comfortable silence fell over the pair. in that moment, sim was overcome with affection. she felt so seen by this new family she had found in the lionesses. unable to voice how much it meant to her, sim tried to put all that emotion into a squeeze of beth's hand.
when beth squeezed back, sim knew her message had been received.

an: i know this isn't my winter event but i couldn't stop thinking about this. i used to clean houses for a while so this idea has been swimming around in my head for months
pairings: timeskip!akaashi x fem!reader
warnings: fluff, overworked akaashi :/, stress mentions, mental health mentions, food mentions, alcohol mentions, reader is a house cleaner, lowercase intentional
-
things have been busy, much busier than normal. akaashi is happy about that, having received many pats on the back and other encouragements from other people in the department. he's also happy because he recently got a raise, his efforts being recognized monetarily as well.
the downside to the recent craziness is that a lot of areas in akaashi's life are being neglected. poor eating habits, minimal social life, awful sleep schedule, and a bit of clutter has been building up at home.
thankfully, he has caring friends like bokuto who are here for support.
"i got you something!" bokuto's excited voice rings through akaashi's phone speaker. he winces at the volume, pulling the phone away from his ear as he begins the walk to his apartment.
"oh yeah? what is it?" he doesn't mean to sound disinterested, he's actually quite intrigued. but he's tired, it's dinner time, and he just wants to lie down. this is the first time in a month that he's getting home before 9:00 pm.
"i can't tell you," the grey-haired man sings. "i know you've been busy, and when i saw this i couldn't pass it up! i think it will be really helpful to you!"
akaashi sighs, rubbing his eyes while he rides the elevator up to his room.
"thanks, bokuto. i'm excited to see," he fumbles around in his bag for his keys. the sound of squeaking shoes and volleyballs hitting the hardwood comes through the other end.
"i'm excited for you! the gift is actually at your place right now! but hey, i gotta go to practice but i'll call ya after to see what you think. love you bye!" bokuto cheers before hanging up. akaashi chuckles to himself before unlocking his front door.
he about screams when he realizes he isn't alone.
you're standing in the middle of his kitchen, right in front of his front door. hand slapped over your mouth in a gasp of fear. you have a rag in your hand, and multiple types of cleaners at your feet. after the fear wears off, akaashi realizes how great it smells in here.
"h-hi! you must be akaashi," you laugh nervously, heart still racing.
"i might be," he steps inside, shutting the door cautiously. "i'm sorry, who are you? how did you get into my apartment?" his eyes are wide, his glasses have slipped down his nose slightly. you introduce yourself and stick out your hand.
"u-um, a friend of yours called me? i can't remember his name, but he was really excited, and-"
he sighs, closing his eyes. he shakes your hand, pinching the bridge of his nose with the other. "bokuto?"
"yes! him! i guess he saw my flyer in town. i'm assuming he didn't tell you i was coming?" you wince, cheeks heating up a little bit at all of the confusion. akaashi notices and feels terrible.
"well, he didn't tell me, no," he stutters, before looking around the house. "oh my god, it looks incredible in here. wait, are you a house cleaner?"
you laugh nervously, putting a few of your supplies back into your carrier. "yeah, i am. bokuto said that you're busy and he thought you could use a cleaner. except he told me that you knew," you give him an apologetic smile. akaashi laughs, making you feel a little better.
"you have no idea. actually, you cleaned my place so you know how bad it was," he keeps looking around the house, amazed at everything. not a spec of dust, every item on the shelves in perfect order, and not a crumb in sight.
"believe me, this was easy. it was a breeze," you assure. you aren't lying, either. bokuto said he was clean, and he wasn't wrong. besides the regular build-up of dust and a few dishes left out here and there, it was one of the easiest jobs you've ever had.
"wait, how did you get in?"
you giggle as you pack up the last of your things. "i met bokuto at the gym he practices at and he gave me a key,"
akaashi groans. "that key is for emergencies."
you throw your hands up. "tell that to bokuto!"
he laughs, helping you pack everything up. "oh, he knows. now i know to be better about letting him use the spare,"
you slip on your shoes, struggling a bit as your hands are full of supplies.
"do you need help?"
"no, i'm used to it. i'm really sorry about the confusion. i left my card and everything i did on the counter for you," you explain, giving akaashi a small smile as he opens the door for you.
"oh, don't worry about it. it isn't your fault at all. thank you so much for this." he says with sincerity. you nod before saying your goodbye.
as he shuts the door, he can't help but laugh about the entire situation. he walks around, marveling at the cleanliness of it all. he's never seen everything so organized. he goes room to room, amazed at just how incredible it is. by the time he reaches his room and bathroom, he's seriously impressed.
now that his evening is free, akaashi decides he's going to finally relax. he wants to make dinner, but he doesn't want to ruin the pristine condition of the kitchen. his decision-making is cut off with the ring of his phone.
"bokuto, we need to talk,"
"good thing i'm outside, can you buzz me in? i have food," bokuto begs. normally he wouldn't but he's starving. he sighs and buzzes bokuto in. minutes later, he's at the door.
"take your shoes off! she just cleaned," akaashi warns. bokuto toes off his shoes before coming into the kitchen.
"holy shit, she did a great job!" bokuto gawks at everything. "i knew she would! i brought pizza for us," he distracts himself, setting the food on the counter.
"can i ask why you gave her a key to my house without asking me?" askaashi gripes before grabbing two plates.
"oh come on keiji, she was harmless! besides, you were just telling me about how you haven't even had time to pick up your house!" he whines, grabbing a few slices before sitting at the island. "i was just trying to help,"
rolling his eyes at the pouting man in front of him, akaashi groans.
"well yes, but you could have told me! i nearly had a heart attack when i got home from work,"
bokuto laughs. "no way! i would have loved to see that. i saw her flyer by the convenience store and decided to give her a call. she's so cute and sweet, she's a university student! she told me she cleans to get through school," he explains, but akaashi is hung up on the word cute.
of course he thought you were cute. your smile was cute, your laugh was cute. he thought you were so sweet, apologizing over and over again for something that was not your fault.
"yeah, she was really sweet. and she did a great job."
bokuto hums. "so, you gonna have her come back?"
"probably, yeah. it was really nice to come home to a clean house,"
"i paid for this one, but everything else is on you."
akaashi smiles. "sure thing, kou."
-
it's been three weeks since you stopped by to clean. his apartment is suffering, and he hasn't been able to stop thinking about you, either.
it's friday night, close to 8:30 pm. akaashi's face lies on his desk, watching the steam float out of the fresh cup of coffee that sits in front of him. he taps his pen on the desk slowly, hoping he can jump-start his mind to finish the editing he needs to do. his eyes slowly focus on your business card that is tacked up on his desk.
he sits up quickly, grabbing his phone to dial your number. akaashi's mind fills with doubt as the line rings, pulling back to hang up before your voice comes through.
"hello?"
"y-yes, this is akaashi. you cleaned my apartment a few weeks ago?"
he hears you shuffling. "oh! yes, how are you? was everything okay?"
sensing the nervousness in your voice, he speaks quickly. "yes, it was perfect! i was actually wondering if you would have the time to come back?"
you sit up, assignments slipping off of your lap and onto the floor. "of course! is there a time that works best for you?" you feel around on the couch for your planner.
"i every week day, and i spend most of my weekends working from home. i don't want to get in your way," he mumbles, flipping through a planner of his own.
"i could always come while you're at work, if you would prefer! after all, i know where to get your key."
akaashi snorts. "that's been revoked. but actually, that would be great! i can hide my key somewhere for you, as long as you lock up when you're done. how about monday?"
you scan your planner. "yeah, i can make that work!"
"since i have you on the phone, i wanted to ask if i can set up a schedule? maybe once a week?"
you gasp. "is everything okay?"
"no, i mean, yeah!" you cringe. "we can totally do that! we can do every monday if that works?"
"that works for me. thank you so much for this, you have no idea." akaashi sighs, rubbing his tired eyes.
after you fish the call, you squeal. this is the first time you've had a steady client, ever. this secures a steady income for at least a little bit. you decide to whip up a celebratory sweet to commemorate the moment, even messaging your friends.
-
it's been a few weeks of regular appointments. akaashi's clean house has done wonders for his mental health. the cleared clutter, fresh air, and removal of responsibility have taken a large weight off of his shoulders. the comfort of coming home and being greeted by everything in its respective place is amazing.
he wants to thank you for everything you've done for him. of course, he tips you every week, much more than you think he should, but he wants to do more. unfortunately he doesn't know anything about you.
but he would like to.
akaashi spends sunday night researching flowers. he decided that while you're cleaning, you would have something delivered for you. he doesn't want something too big, too small, too romantic. he wants to thank you but doesn't want it to be too lame. after a lot of thought, he decides on a dozen light pink roses, set to be delivered right before you finish up.
the next day, right as you're going through your final check list, there is a knock at akaashi's door. this isn't the first time, of course. usually, you bring the package inside, send him a text to let him know, and go on your way.
when you open the door, you're met with the sweet scent of roses, and one of the most beautiful bouquets you've ever seen. your heart drops a little bit. you think akaashi is incredibly handsome and sweet. he's a hard worker, intelligent, caring, and very giving. of course he already has someone.
you bring the bouquet inside, set it on the counter, and shoot him a text.
attachment: 1 image
hey akaashi! i'm all done, but you just got this delivered. it's on the counter for you. thanks again :)
you gather up your things and grab the dirty rags to place in the washing machine. right as you shut the door, he responds.
i forgot to tell you, but those are for you. thank you so much for cleaning again, i'll send your payment shortly.
your brows scrunch up. did he get those for me?
akaashi is freaking out at his desk. the pen in his hands taps on his lip nervously. he thinks about calling you, telling you to throw away the note attached to the vase, maybe even lying and saying they're not for you after all.
you grab the vase, admiring the beautiful set of flowers. your cheeks feel a bit warm, finally realizing that these are for you. akaashi sent you flowers. as your fingertips dance along the petals, you notice a card attached.
"thank you for everything you've done. it may not seem like a lot, but you've really helped me out. i wanted to give you this as a thank you, but also to ask if you would like to go out on a date sometime. -A.K."
your mouth drops open. you let out a laugh, smiling wide as you feel around for your phone. you dial up his number as fast as you can, covering up your mouth with your palm as if he can see the huge smile playing at your lips.
"hey, uh d-don't worry about-"
"i would love to."
he pauses, stomach flipping over and over again. "huh?"
you giggle. "i would love to go out with you sometime!"
he smiles and lets out a breathy laugh. "oh, great! uh, how about tonight? i can pick you up?"
you bite your lip. "i would love that."
he runs his hand through his hair. he can't believe it. "okay, see you later tonight."
you end the call and embrace your love-sick grin. after you pack everything away in your car, you get another text from akaashi. he's sent you the payment for this week, along with a larger than usual tip.
i'll cover dinner tonight, if you want to treat me to dessert. :)

It Wasn't an Accident
Jamie Campbell Bower x (Y/N)
1/?
I don't know what I'm doing with this. I'm just bored at work. let me know what you think! I might need a part two that wasn't perfect closure lol
Warnings: Mentions of suicide attempts
Tumblr media
Jamie felt the earth crumble beneath his feet. He never thought he would be in this situation, at least not with you. In his earlier years, he could see himself on the other end, but he never thought he would be sitting on the edge of a hospital bed pleading with a god he didn’t believe existed. Jamie needed you to pull through this. You two were still young and had many adventures to go on.
Jamie knew this was an accident. He knew that you loved your life and would never attempt suicide. There had to be another explanation, right?
Silently he wondered what made you feel like you couldn’t go to him. He wondered why you were drinking wine in the first place and then decided to take sleeping pills on top of it. Jamie had no idea that you were taking medications in the first place.
Usually, you went to Jamie when you had hard times. You two never had secrets, especially regarding mental health situations.
This whole week had felt off to you, but you weren’t sure how to explain it to anyone. You always felt the pressure to be the best, not by Jamie but by yourself; you wanted to be perfect for him, for your family, and for you.
You tried to get your thoughts together, and you wanted to tell Jamie everything you were feeling, but you could never find the correct words. Honestly, Jamie was busy with his new work schedule, he was MIA for long periods, and you started second-guessing yourself. You didn’t think you were cut out for his lifestyle and soon, the image of you being the perfect girlfriend started to break piece by piece.
‘Sure. Make me feel like shit all week, lose my dream job, forget how to communicate with everyone around me, and then sure the world would have my boyfriend leave for weeks at a time. Why not?’
“(y/n) I know you can hear me.” He places your hand in his.
You wish you didn’t have to watch this from your outer body. It’s like watching a horror movie, and you can’t fucking turn it off. “I love you, darling. I love you-” He whimpers.
A small shutter rushes down his spine. He glance’s directly at you as if he can sense your spirit standing next to him.
“Do you see me?” You wave a hand in front of his face; his watery blue eyes return to your body.
“I didn’t know you were feeling this fragile. I would have helped you if I knew.” He played many of your two’s conversations and memories back in his mind. He couldn’t recall any warning signs; all he could remember was you talking about your dreams and how you finally felt influential in life. You spoke about things you loved and constantly reminded your family and friends how much you loved them.
You were everything to Jamie. You always put a smile on his face when he was down and struggling and when he felt defeated, you were there to bring his success to his attention and remind him of how far he had come in life. You ensured that he knew he was loved every second of the day.
Jamie wondered if he wasn’t providing you with the same things. Guilt and discomfort shadowed his thoughts. “Is this my fault? I should have spent more time at home. I should have taken better care of you.”
Your vision became blurry with tears. You'd give anything to be able to explain to Jamie that this wasn’t his fault. You were stuck in sadness, and you couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. You rested your hand on his shoulder, wishing he could sense you standing there with him.
A soft knock on the door drug Jamie out of his intense thoughts. Wiping tears from his eyes, he slowly stood to his feet. He tried to calm his anxieties as he placed his hand on the doorknob. Cautiously he opened the door, and instantly his stomach calmed at the sight of his best friend, Joseph, and his girlfriend, Mel.
Jamie gave a halfhearted smile to the couple who entered the room, handing him flowers and some fast food they picked up on the way. He quietly thanked them and placed the tulips on the bedside.
Jamie wasn’t sure what to say to the two friends. This wasn't a normal situation for any of you to be in. He rubbed Your hand, hoping that you could at least feel he was there, loving you, needing you, and missing you.
Joseph hates this for both of you. He knew that nothing he said would take Jamie’s pain away, but Joseph knew he had to try. “How is she?”
Jamie is on the verge of tears again. He shrugged his shoulders and lifted his hands to show you lying in bed. “It doesn’t make sense.” He snivels, “What kind of boyfriend am I? I didn’t see anything.” He tried his best to maintain his composure, but now he was feeling angry, not just with himself but at you for putting them in this situation. He took a deep breath and spoke through gritted teeth, “What if she doesn’t remember me when she wakes?” The thought nearly knocked the wind from Jamie’s lungs. The idea of you never remembering him was a soul-crushing thought.
Joseph looked from Mel to the door, letting her know he wanted privacy with his friend. She gave Jamie a small hug before exiting the room. “Take care. We are here for you, Jamie.”
Joseph pulled up a chair next to Jamie and put a hand on Jamie’s back. He cautiously spoke to his hurting friend. “(Y/N) is one of the strongest people we know, Jamie. She’s the backbone of this group. She may have made a mistake, but she’ll remember you. You are the love of her life, and no small knock to the head will stop her from remembering you or any of us. It may take time, but she will return to us, Jamie. You must keep fighting, and please listen when I tell you we will never give up hope.” Joseph wrapped his arms around Jamie and allowed Jamie to sob into his shoulder, “We’re going to get through this.”

Chapter 9! Insert a falling in love montage while plot things happen in the background.
Project Info
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Fortunately, the Haunted Archivists had managed to record another five hours of footage after the ouija board trouble, so they turned their sights to the rest of the town. They had their local informants and itinerary, though Josie was kind enough to provide a few recommendations their way before I thought it time to run interference, and my work hours returned to normal. I sat on the phone for two hours, explaining to the tree trimming company why I needed them to come before eight AM or after six PM, and that, yes, they have indeed been doing that for us for the past fifteen years. I then set Mr. Ngo a picture of myself posing in front of the calendar, triumphantly pointing to the appointment I had secured for us. The rain stopped early enough in the day to
[Double check the schedule and what days of the week this happens on]
On Monday, I called up the funeral director to confirm the time of the burial. The digger came in to empty out the grave just after I chased the last college students out and locked the gate behind them, before unlocking the gate to let the site manager in. It was never fun directing the dig crew through the front gates and down the gravel walking-path, which had been made with a horse-and-buggy in mind, rather than a modern digging vehicle. As the sun sank down, I walked the manager through the very specific route they were to take through the walkway and helped him set down the reflective orange flags for the vehicle operator to use for reference. It was a routine dig, slow but ultimately uneventful, but I couldn't help but glance over my shoulder anxiously. We were two-for-two in terms of evening excursions getting unexpectedly interrupted, and, even if I was the cause of one of those interruptions, I wasn't looking forward to a third.
Sure enough, I caught a shadow in the corner of my eye. "Hey!" I turned, raising my flashlight and aiming it at the shadow -- only to find nothing but the same tree that had spooked me when Renfield broke in, bent and gnarled and shadowing the old, weathered grave beneath it. I was getting tired of getting scared by the same thing over and over again, and my irritation made me forget my anxiety. "What the hell, man?" I asked the tree. "Stop it."
I wandered over to the grave, shining my light on it to try for the hundredth time to read the name on it. Enough researchers had studied the weather patterns and agreed that this was Lucille Blue's grave, with John Blue the crumbled headstone just to the side of it, but I didn't have a keen enough eye to pick out the details. "Ooh, I'm a delicate Victorian lady," I muttered, as if it was the corpse's fault this was happening. "I died a hundred years ago, and now everyone wants to take a selfie with me." Mocking the dead put me at ease, and I chuckled -- and yelped as an ice-cold wind touched the back of my neck.
"One hundred and thirty-six years, actually."
With yet another creative curse, I whirl around to see Lucy, in all her gothic glory. "What the hell, man? You're not supposed to be here."
She shrugged. "The front gate is open."
"That doesn't mean anything. The graveyard closes at eight. You have to go."
[Discussion. Ultiamtely, kaz relents and they stand together watching the digger finish in under an hour. Lucy talks about how this used to take the better part of a whole day. Kaz offers her a drink and lucy suggests she pour it over lucille's grave instead. kaz is woo'ed]
[At the end of the week, Phan's back on her feet. She calls Mr. Ngo at work, and has him put me on the phone, before spending the next half hour making sure I took care of myself this week while I give Mr. Ngo a look of knowing exasperation. She's back to normal, alright.]
I got the job when I was a sophomore at the local university. When I was a freshman, I, like many students, tried going around the cemetery at first, because it felt weird and disrespectful to cut through it just to get from campus to downtown Sutton. Then, two or three months in, I, like every other freshmen, stopped caring as much about what the dead thought and more about how many extra seconds I could squeeze out of my mornings before having to submit to the horrors of higher education.
In my second year, I met Josie. We were both taking [some kind of film studies] class together, and I kind of fell for her immediately. She was gorgeous, and smart, and always ready to help people. Her weird matched my weird perfectly. And I, in all my genius, decided to do a Romantic Gesture at her.
Since she was into macabre history, I thought I'd get a rubbing of the oldest headstone in the graveyard. I spent a weekend taking various historical tours, trying to narrow down which was the right grave to visit, not even once thinking of just asking one of the docents instead. [She gets noticed by mr ngo, and he offers her a job.]
Looking back on it now, I could have just asked her on a date to go take rubbings together like a normal, smart person, but I am not, nor have I ever been, either of those things. Especially when a pretty girl is involved.
I never actually got the grave rubbing, by the way. I wound up asking Josie out for coffee instead, like a run of the mill idiot, instead of an idiot who lives next to a graveyard. And, also, was employed by the [manager? Senior sexton? look it up.]
Mr. Ngo was grateful for the help. I wasn't the best at tours, and I had to seriously be trained in office work, but I loved the manual work that came with the job. Maintenance, cleanup, prepping areas for funerals or ceremonies -- including two weddings so far -- and landscaping.Much to my parents' chagrin, I found that I actually really enjoyed the work of a sexton far more than I ever enjoyed the [whatever] degree I was pursuing. I might be graduating this summer, but I don't think I want to leave town any time soon. Messy breakup with my spooky girlfriend or not, this is where I'm happy.
I don't even mind getting up early. Something in my genes demanded that the second I wake up, I had to have so much energy that, if I didn't do something, I'd probably keel over and die. Sweeping up leaves and washing any graves that needed attention seemed like a perfect time to get out that energy while getting paid. And, miraculously, I get to see Lucy.
Almost every day, without fail, she finds a way into the cemetery without my noticing. I've checked every fence, tried to open every gate, and stomped through the oldest area of the cemetery, which butts up against the woods on the edge of town, and, unless she's climbing trees out there and dropping down into muddy ruins, I can't imagine how she gets in.
But, still, I get to see her all the same. She's always dressed up in black gowns with the veil hung over her face, but it's too dark to see the details of her clothes.
She gives me that look a lot, but I can't quite figure out what it means. I think it’s a mix of frustration -- like the answer should be obvious, maybe? -- and something else. It irks me, just a little, but I'm too busy enjoying this rebound-infatuation-honeymoon phase thing going on to really care. She's a font of knowledge, with a seemingly endless supply of fun facts no matter the subjects. Half the time I find myself sitting and just listening to her rattle off information. Granted, most of it goes over my head, but it's a delight to listen to her talk about something she's so passionate about.
One day, I ask about her schedule. Or, more specifically, I ask, “Do you ever get out during the day? It seems like I’ve only ever seen you at night.”
Again, she gives me that look. Like I should have figured out the answer already, but it’s cute that I haven’t. “I can’t go out in the sun,” she says, and gestures to her gown. “Though I dare say I’m far more suited for the night.”
“I couldn’t agree more,” I say. There’s a fine line between expecting someone to know, and being ready to talk about it, and I don’t want to make her say anything before she’s ready.  Maybe she has an allergy? Or, more likely, she just has a wildly demanding job and this is when she’s got the most free time. I know that the last thing I wanted to think about was work when I was still in retail, to the point where I refused to acknowledge the store existed at all.
She laughs prettily, and I can’t help but laugh along with her.
“I mean it,” I say. “You’re probably the most goth a person could be. I think the only way you could bump up another level is if you were actually a vampire.”
“Oh, if only,” she says, and laughs again.
My face heats up. Something in my chest swells, and I reach out before hesitating. “Uh — sorry. Can I…?” I’m not sure what I’m asking permission for, but it feels wrong not to.
“Oh…” her smile fades, and this time there’s something sad in her eyes as she stammers, searching for an answer.
I don’t need her to put it in words, however. It’s pretty clear the answer isn’t yes. “Don’t worry about it. Sorry. I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable or anything.”
She relaxes instantly, warmth returning to her features. “Believe me, my dear. If the answer could be yes, it would.”
“I believe you,” I say, which is really incredibly smooth considering the entirety of my thoughts consist of ohmygodohmygodohmygod because she definitely likes me too.
Which, you know.
Cool.
I’m so cool.

@xheathcnx plotted starter [ayaz/daphne]
the bitter taste of being unable to find a trace frustrated daphne. as a detective with a known reputation for being the best in her job, this case was proving to be a challenge. enough that made her decide to stay home and work from the studio inside it, where she could sit behind a desk and a comfortable chair and be on her own, unable to hear her chief constantly reminding her of how he needed results by the end of the week. no results were given other than the analysis of the victims' identities; all connected to organized crime, which meant the killer belonged to it as well, but organized crime was a world daphne had to tread carefully on to avoid unexpected surprises and visitors, or even put her life and her husband's at risk.
ayaz had proven to be a husband that wasn't ordinary like the ones her friends had. even with daphne's hectic schedule, they always found ways to end their days with passion. even if she was tough looking and serious on the outside, she possessed a high sex drive that ayaz always eased; one she unleashed the moment they both met. he managed to have her wrapped around his finger. he was the only man who could do that since if anyone attempted to control her, she'd attack them without hesitation. she was a known fighter and a quick-witted woman who didn't take bullshit from anyone.
Tumblr media
sitting behind the desk dressed in a silk dress, daphne wrote down the latest notes on the case on her notepad. as she heard the door, her indigo hues lifted up to meet the sight of ayaz. she leaned back against the leather seat, a leg crossing over the other. "I'm tired of working, baby." she ran her hands over her face and huffed, the sound of the phone ringing, making her upset. "and I bet that's my fucking boss again, asking for the tenth time what I'm doing. I'm starting to think he's got the hots for me. ever since I decided to work from home, he's been pestering." she pressed a button to stop the ringing sound, a heavy sigh slipping from her lips.

Day 5 + Day 28 (He's Mine + Laughter)
Summary: Naruto and Sasuke have too much fun at work.
.-.-.-
Naruto can't breathe. He keeps hitting the desk with his fist, and his stomach hurts. It is a good hurt, though. He gasps in between fits of laughter, trying to recover his breath, but the laughs return every time he catches sight of Sasuke in the corner. They both would be rolling on the floor if there was enough space.
He rests his cheek on the wood, still glancing at Sasuke, who is fighting to conceal his silent chuckle, but Naruto catches the slight shake of his shoulders. How he wishes the bastard wasn't wearing his stupid ANBU mask. Even now, Sasuke laughing is a rare occurrence, and it is not as if the mask hides his distinctive hairstyle or prosthetic arm. But there are rules and protocols the Hokage must follow no matter how absurd they are. The only reason Naruto has done nothing about those yet is that there are priorities.
Their eyes meet again —Naruto is sure despite the awful mask. They prepare for another round, but Shikamaru has had enough. His friend hits Naruto's head with his clipboard, then throws a pencil at Sasuke's head. Naruto leans back on his chair, rubbing his head and wiping his tears. He has no idea where the pencil went.
"Are you twelve again or what?" Shika looks like he needs a cigarette. "You are going to waste months worth of work."
Naruto sighs. He doesn't think it'll come to that, but he doesn't argue. Shikamaru's job is stressful enough, and newborn Shikadai only adds to it.
"Yeah, sorry, Shika. How many are there left?"
"One." Shikamaru checks the schedule as if he needs confirmation that this long day will end soon. "Thank god," he murmurs.
"Okay," Naruto adjusts his robes and puts on the hat before rubbing his hands together. "Let's do this."
Naruto has been working on diversifying Konoha's services to counter the decreasing need for shinobi in the world without fully forsaking the village's tradition. It hasn't been easy. Naruto, Sasuke, the Konoha 11, and half a dozen representatives of the Clans almost went bald during the process, but it has been a success so far. They have already secured a huge investment with a pharmaceutical company thanks to Tsunade's research, and Bushy brow is working with a sports company to develop a ninja skill tournament. A movie director has approached them to hire former shinobi as stunt actors. There's a food company interested in their chakra-cultivated crops.
The man who crosses the door is the last in a series of potential business associates Naruto has met this week. He is a wealthy tradesman offering a deal for their ninja to work as security for his factories and other buildings. And like many of the ones before him, he has a daughter about Naruto's age.
"Lord Hokage," he shakes Naruto's hand. "It's an honour to meet the Hero of Konoha."
"No, no, the pleasure is mine, Saji-san." He gestures for the man to take a seat. "Tell me, how can we make our proposal more attractive for you." Naruto shoots him his best smile.
"I'll be honest, Lord Hokage, the board has already approved the deal with Konoha, but I didn't want to lose on the opportunity to meet you."
"I'm flattered." Naruto leans forward. "I hope I met your expectations." He knows what's coming; it's been like this all day.
"Oh, you exceeded my expectations." The man pauses as if to reflect. "I'm kind of concerned, though."
"Concerned? About what, Saji-san?"
"I don't know if it's my place to comment on this."
Naruto presses his lips together to stop himself from laughing. What he would give to see Sasuke's face right now.
"Please feel free to talk, Saji-san. I expect us to become good friends aside from business partners."
"I was wondering... How can a man of your fame and position not be married already?"
Eight out of eight. Naruto never expected his work to be this fun.
"Well, it has been a rough couple of years, and I've focused on Konoha." Naruto looks wistfully towards the window. "But now that everything has stabilized, I think I might be ready to settle down."
"Do you happen to have someone in mind?" The man perks up. "I've heard you have been visiting Omiai agencies for a while now."
Naruto doesn't know who started the rumour, just that the person was terribly misinformed and had too much imagination. He knows where and when it started, though.
It was on Sasuke's birthday. Naruto had been waiting at the bar of Sasuke's favourite restaurant to take their order home. There had been some confusion with their food, and he had to wait half an hour for it to be corrected. The binder with the profiles had been forgotten or abandoned on the seat beside him. The most surprising part was that Naruto barely leafed through the thing before he handed it to the bartender.
Nevertheless, the rumour spread and Naruto was bombarded with marriage proposals from every corner of the continent, his business partners included. As if it wasn't common knowledge that he and Sasuke had been together for half a decade.
"I did." Naruto doesn't waste energy denying it. "But it turned out the perfect choice was always right in front of me, Saji-san."
"Oh." The man is unable to hide his disappointment but recovers quickly. "Your betrothed must be exceptional."
"Certainly, Saji-san." Naruto has done this so many times that the words flow effortlessly. "My betrothed belongs to an old and powerful shinobi
family, wealthy, of course, and most importantly, acts as my personal guard."
The moment realization hits the man, he loses his composure. The way his face contorts as he turns to regard Sasuke is priceless. Naruto hopes the bastard is using the Sharingan.
"My apologies, Saji-san," Sasuke pays his part. "The Hokage is spoken for. He's mine."
The man has the decency to blush as he sputters his good wishes and pleasantries before taking his leave. The door has barely closed when Naruto and Sasuke burst out laughing again, confident about the efficacy of their silencing seals. Shikamaru only stays long enough to pick up his stuff.
"I'm taking the week off," he declares.
"Thanks- Shika-" Naruto wheezes in between laughs. "Say hi to Temari and mini Shika for me."
Once they are alone and have calmed down, Sasuke moves to lean on the desk and removes Naruto's hat. Naruto does the same with the ANBU mask. Naruto grins; Sasuke smirks fondly, extending his hand to brush Naruto's mess of hair away from his forehead. This routine of theirs is one of Naruto's favourite parts of the day.
"You know we just started another rumour, right?" Sasuke arches a brow.
Naruto rolls his eyes. "At least this will be more accurate." He makes a significant pause and takes Sasuke's hand. "Unless you want to make it real," Naruto ventures. "Consider you are not getting any younger." He adds because the banter is an essential part of their relationship.
"I don't know. Something tells me you only want me for the Uchiha name."
"And you only want me for my position."
They chuckle again, but it's a different kind of laugh. It's not mocking, but a unique kind of breathless. It's one full of love.

"Pleeaasse, Wan" You pouted once again. You had been begging Wanda for the favour for an hour now; her stubborness was proving hard to overcome.
"I'm busy." Wanda said, her accent strong as she walked around her appartment to collect things for her next mission.
"But will you be busy on the 10th?" You asked from the couch where you watched her disappear into various rooms as she talked.
"I thought you said it was a few days." Wanda quipped, seemingly only giving you half her attention.
"It is." You confirmed with some hope.
"So I'd need to clear my schedule for more than just the 10th." You huffed and rested your head on the back of couch.
"Yes you would. I'm sure Natasha can manage without you for a few days."
"I wouldn't be too sure about that." She muttered.
"Please, Wan." You tried. "I need a win." Wanda stopped by the kitchen counter and gave you a long, considering look. You had long given up on your puppy dog eyes and instead copied her expression as you chewed on your bottom lip.
"I'll think about it." Wanda finally said before grabbing something from the cupboard. It was the best response you had gotten all night and you knew you wouldn't get anything more. So you accepted it and hoped for the best.
Your parents had invited you to their cabin for a few days just like they did every year. It was a beautiful place. You could spend your whole visit in the forest along the back. Or swimming in the clear lake that was a short walk away. The cabin itself was the cosiest place you had ever been and had been where some of your best memories had happened as a kid.
As you got older things changed. Being around your family, especially your parents, wasn't as enjoyable. They had high expectations for their children, expectations that your siblings had met without a problem but ones that you had struggled with. You enjoyed your life. You had the kind of relationships you had always hoped for, you loved your job and you had the perfect balance of the two. But you could never shake the feeling that you had failed.
Your brother was a surgeon who always told you all stories of the lives he saved and the close calls he had swooped in to save people from. One of your sisters was some hot shot lawyer who had done great things like help people wrongly convicted but still put dangerous people back on the street. And your other sister was the CEO of an energy company that you never quite understood. They even all had equally successful partners who loved to talk about themselves as much as your siblings did. You didn't have any of that. But you did have Wanda.
Knowing the Avengers was the only thing about you your family took interest in. They were always subtly hinting at wanting to meet your friends. But you knew the Avengers had to endure enough fan service and didn't want to push your family onto them, especially with how annoying they all were.
However as your family's unrealistic expectations reached their all time high you were sure you wouldn't be able to handle another trip with them without a win, and you were far too petty to take the moral high ground and just not go. Not to mention that was a huge part of you that was dying to see what the Wanda girlfriend experience would entail. Yep, that was what you were asking of Wanda. To pretend to be your partner for the duration of the trip.
You knew it wasn't a smart choice. That if Wanda agreed your crush on her could get out of hand. You knew you would end up getting too caught up in the act. You could have, no - should have - asked Natasha or Yelena or even Carol if she was around. But your family knew you were the closest with Wanda and she would be the one it felt the most natural with, and the most believable. At least, that was what you told Wanda.
"When are you going?" You asked, changing the subject in hopes that Wanda wouldn't suddenly conclude she didn't want to do it (then you really would have to ask one of the others).
"Tomorrow." She answered, keeping her focused tone.
"When will you be back?" You attempted to keep the concern out of your voice but the glance the redhead gave you told you you hadn't done a good job.
"The day after." She said, softer this time. You nodded as you looked down at your lap and tried not to think about everything that could possibly go wrong on her mission.
"Be safe." Wanda strolled over to you and placed her hand gently ontop of yours and gave it a quick squeeze.
"Always."
*
"Got any plans Saturday night?" Natasha smirked knowingly at her friend as they preped for their mission.
"No." Wanda replied as she adjusted her earpiece.
"Nothing with y/n then?" Nat asked, partly genuinely but mostly knowing Wanda would still say no.
"Nope." She said again, biting the inside of her cheek in consideration before speaking again. "Not this Saturday."
Natasha raised an eyebrow in surprise and interest. Wanda rarely made any kind of special plans with you as you would always hang out casual and it was never anything fancy or different. She had always wanted to though.
"Plans for another time?" Nat continued as she double checked her pack.
"Maybe, I'm still thinking about it." The redhead turned fully to her friend at her words, confused at why Wanda was hesitant to spend time with you. "She wants me to go to the cabin with her and her family." Nat had heard all about the infamous cabin and your family.
"That sounds fun." Nat nodded. The cabin sounded fun. Your family did not.
"As her girlfriend." Nat's eyes widened excitedly but before she could speak Wanda clarified. "Her pretend girlfriend."
Nat paused and looked as though she was going to speak for several seconds until she stuck to just giving a confused look.
"Yeah." Wanda sighed. "Thinks it would seem impressive." Wanda had tried not to be hurt over that. She knew you weren't just friends with her to show her off to people, because you never did. But it hurt her to think the only time you could see her in a romantic way was when you were pretending.
"Well," Nat muttered as she adjusted the zip along the front of her catsuit. "Fake it till you make it." It was Wanda's turn to give Nat a questioning look. "Maybe it'll be an eye opener for her."
"You think I should do it?" She asked, fully open to hearing and accepting her friend and mentor's advice in that area.
"Definelty." Nat confirmed. She wasn't sure about it for the reasons she said though. Wanda's crush on you was obvious to everyone except you, just as it was vice versa.

You had been overjoyed when Wanda told you she would come with you to the cabin and play along as your girlfriend. She had told you when she came back from her mission, in fact it was the first thing she said after she had let herself into your appartment. It was never really brought up after that, but you couldn't deny you were incredibly anxious on the week leading up to the visit.
On the drive up to the cabin you and Wanda stayed in a comfortable silence most of the time, clearly both lost in thought. You had the radio on for background noise more than anything else, but you would occasionally lightly tap the steering wheel if there was a tune you recognised, oblivious to Wanda's acknowledging smiles.
"So what's the plan?" Wanda asked as she looked at you expectantly. Right, of course the Avenger wanted a strategy.
"Keep things simple, I guess. They know how we met already so we can just say at some point we took things a step further than friendship." Wanda didn't seem convinced at the simplicity of that. "Look they're not going to want to hear about us, not much at least. They prefer the sound of their own voices, they'll be trying to impress you is all."
"Impress me?" Wanda asked.
"Yeah, hope you warm up to them so one day they can invite you to their snobby parties." Wanda chuckled her heart warming laugh as she glanced out of the window, knowing there was a lot of truth to what you said.
"And what are those like?" She enquired curiously.
"I wouldn't know, I've never been invited." You said simply. You had gotten over that a long time ago, gotten used to being forgotten. Wanda clearly hadn't though.
"It will be an honour to turn them down." Wanda said. You shook your head and smiled at her. That did sound pretty nice.
When the cabin came into sight between the trees your nerves spiked. You figited in your seat and bit your lip when you saw some of your family gathered outside, their attention instantly on you. You shot Wanda a quick smile which she returned before you got out of the car.
"Y/n! So nice of you to come." You mum said as her eyes flickered to Wanda more than you. She opened her arms for the shortiest hug in human history before turning to Wanda. "You must be Wanda, we've heard so much." You mum insisted as she brought the redhead in for a hug too. She raised her eyebrows at you over your mum's shoulder and you bite back a laugh.
The others came over to greet you and mainly Wanda in a rush, overwhelming both of you.
"You two will be in the upstairs bedroom on the left." Your mum told you as you went to grab your bags. You did a double take, convinced you had heard her wrong. That was the best room in the house. A big difference from being in the small room in the basement every other time you had been there.
"First one on the left." Your dad confirmed. There was no way your parents were going to be in the basement so you wondered who else had been moved around but didn't ask, knowing whoever it was wasn't going to be happy.
You and Wanda made your way up to the room and you couldn't help but smile at the sight of the spacious room and the door you knew led to your en suite.
"That was...a lot." Wanda summarised as she said her bag under the bed.
"I would tell you it gets better but I don't want to get your hopes up." You sighed as you got a couple of things out.
"It's just a few days." Wanda said despite the fact you should have been assuring her.
"Yeah." You nodded and stared down at the floor. "Now c'mon." You suddenly said as you took ahold of Wanda's hand and laced your fingers together. You missed the startled blush that crept onto her cheeks when you turned around.
Your family were sat outside whispering amongst themselves when you returned. Their interested gaze fell to your entwined hands in an instant.
"So you work with the Avengers?" Your brother, Dalton, said as soon as you both sat down.
"I do, I'm one myself." Wanda said as she continued to hold onto your hand.
"Must be crazy, what are they like?" He enquired.
"They're good." Wanda said simply. Everyone clearly expected something more but Wanda pretended not to notice making you smile.
"I almost did business with Stark once, decided against it in the end." Claire announced proudly. You and Wanda exchanged knowing glances. Stark had told you all about his encounter with your sister, it definetly wasn't her turning him down.
"I was invited to one of his parties." Anna said quickly. "I was busy that night unfortunately."
Bull. Shit.
"Yes I remember working with Doctor Strange when he was still in the medical profession." You gave Wanda an I-told-you-so look as your family erupted into conversation over who had the most contact with the heroes. That had to be a new record of how quickly they started talking about themselves.
They continued like that until your mum called everyone in for dinner. The food smelt undeniably amazing as you took your place at the table next to Wanda and eyed the dishes infront of you. Your parents efforts to impress the redhead weren't all that bad.
Your family continued to catch up and and you and Wanda half listened as you ate. They were all doing as well for themselves as ever and still hadn't learnt any modesty.
Although you were proud of your siblings for what they had all achieved, Wanda had contained four potentially devastating bombs from going off in the space of half an hour a week before but she wasn't going to bring that up anytime soon. Eventually though, the attention turned to you to bring you out of your silence.
"And you're still working in that little café, y/n?" Your mum asked curiously.
"I own it, mum." You corrected quietly as you stabbed some pieces on your plate.
"Ah yes, quite the contrast though, isn't it. Between you two." She said as she pointed at you and Wanda with her fork. You didn't say anything to that because you felt there really wasn't anything to say in response. It wasn't like you hadn't thought that exact thing every now and then.
"The team loves it." Wanda said suddenly making everyone, including you, look at her in slight surprise from speaking up. It hadn't taken your family long to learn Wabda wasn't much of a talker, not to them anyway. You couldn't get her to shut up half the time. "At least one of us goes everyday. If we're lucky we all can. Nothing beats it." She defended simply before turning back to her food to show she wasn't going to say anymore. You smiled down at your plate at her words and the truth of them.
No one said anything in response, clearly shocked from this new information until Dalton spoke up.
"But doesn't Stark like fancy, top of the line, restaurants? I can't imagine him in some random coffee shop, no offence sis." He nodded towards you though you knew he didn't mean it. He couldn't let you have just one win.
"That random coffee shop has catered some of Stark's parties. Not that many though." A smug smile crept onto Dalton's face as he opened his mouth to make a snarky remark but Wanda cut him down again. "Because y/n's invited to the rest as a guest and a close friend." Your family stared at you with open mouths.
"You've been invited to Stark's parties?!" Anna exclaimed. In your defence, your family never wanted to hear about your life so you never got the chance to tell them anything.
"It's not really my crowd." You shrugged. "I just go to hang out with them after." Dalton's jaw clenched in annoyance and he didn't say anything for the rest of dinner. It was only really your mum who kept talking. Telling everyone about her latest travels that fell on death ears.
It was certainly a first for your family.
When everyone had finished their food you and Wanda excused yourselves and said goodnight before retiring to your room. Wanda shut the door gently as you collapsed onto the bed on your back and glared at the ceiling. The redhead shuffled around quietly to get her toothbrush and toothpaste and some other things you weren't really paying attention to and went into the bathroom.
When she came back out she was in her bedclothes and lifted your feet off the floor to turn you so you could fully lay on the bed. You smiled at her weakly.
"You should go get changed." Wanda said as she got her laptop out her bag. "Then you can pick a movie." She announced when she had gotten under the covers and started her laptop. You smiled more and nodded.
You tried not to think about your family and everything they had said at dinner as you got changed but it proved difficult. Everything they had said echoed around in your head but most of all you couldn't shake the disregarding ways they said it. It was as though you could do no right with them. Maybe they would never be proud no matter what you did.
You placed your toothbrush back I'm the holder and rinsed your mouth before heading back into the bedroom to an awaiting Wanda.
You got under the covers next to her and rested your head on her shoulder as you glanced at the Netflix screen and pointed to one of the comedy movies.
About ten minutes into the movie Wanda spoke. "You okay?" She whispered as she continued to look at the screen although that wasn't where her focus was.
"Yeah." You whispered back.
"You can talk to me." She said after a second." You moved your head away so you could see Wanda clearly.
"I'm so glad you're here." You said honestly. She smiled and nodded as her eyes searched yours.
"I'm glad I'm here too." You knew Wanda wasn't glad she had to spend the time with your family. She was glad that she could support you despite their efforts to bring you down. You were incredibly lucky to have her.
You rested your head back on her shoulder and neither of you spoke for the rest of the movie. Or the rest of the night. You must have fallen asleep about half an hour in.

Wanda was one of the most intimate people you had ever met. It was mainly something she aimed towards you and Natasha but didn't refrain from comforting others and giving hugs to anyone who would take one. She never held back at all with you, as far as you knew. But when you woke up and couldn't tell where your limbs started and Wanda's ended, you were still surprised to find yourselves like that. Butterflies flew around in your stomach in a way you knew was dangerous but couldn't help but love.
You were resting your head on her rising chest and had your arm slung across her stomach. Your legs were tangled together and her arms were holding onto your waist. A warmth spread through you and you decided to settle back into her hold and closed your eyes with a content smile.
You had about ten minutes to enjoy that before Wanda woke up. You could feel the moment she realized you were so close, she physically froze. You waited in anticipation for something for several moments until your friend very slowly unhooked her legs and guided your body to lay against the mattress and pillows as she slipped out of bed towards the bathroom.
You sighed when you heard the door close and rubbed your eyes slowly, knowing you should get up but wishing more than anything that you could return to how you woke up.
"Morning." Wanda croaked when she left the bathroom and saw you sitting up in bed.
"Morning." You said back with a smile and tried not to focus on how ridiculously attractive her voice sounded.
You gathered some random clothes into a bundle and went into the bathroom to change again and brush your teeth. When you came out Wanda was pulling her shirt over her head and gave you a generous view of her toned stomach. That training with Natasha really was paying off. Your face heated up when you saw it and you turned away to pretend you hadn't seen when Wanda noticed you.
"Don't make a sound." Wanda warned. You glanced up at her with some confusion. "I don't think your family's awake yet, that means we get the kitchen to ourselves." She grinned and you did too.
You and Wanda had gotten so used to getting up early for your jobs you forgot other people would still be sleeping. It was hard to break out of the habit but it proved useful.
The pair of you made a quick breakfast and ate it outside thanks to the warm weather even at that time. But soon enough your parents came downstairs and ruined the peaceful atmosphere with the clanging of pots and loud convosations.
You wandered around the side of the house and saw the old table tennis table that bad been folded away years ago and hadn't been set up since. You went over and started setting it up when Wanda joined you and eyed the table with a glimmer of mischief.
The redhead wasn't all that competitive, in fact you were pretty sure she let other people win games on the regular to make them feel better about themselves. But there was an undeniable spark of mischief in her eyes when she saw the table.
"You played this before?" You asked convosationally.
"I have." She said as you both automatically took up your positions of opposite ends of the table.
"Me too." You said confidently. "A lot." Wanda hummed in acknowledgment and swivelled her bat in her hand and stood ready. You smiled at her seriousness for the game.
You served surprisingly well for someone who hadn't played in a few years and Wanda was able to hit it back with ease. Once you had developed a steady pace you started hitting the ball more daringly to Wanda who was caught off guard before she started doing the same.
The moment you missed the ball a small smile tugged at the corner of Wanda's lips, her celebration was short lived when you suddenly sent the ball back her way until it was too late.
"That wasn't fair!" She exclaimed childishly.
"That was tables tennis." You said seriously but started smiling again.
Wanda huffed dramatically and flipped you off as she trudged back to the table and served the ball with force. You managed to send it back but took a step away from the table in caution.
You continued like that for a while. The competition tension rising as you picked up the pace, one of you occasionally getting a point before the other evened it out.
At one point you were vaguely aware of Dalton sauntering over to see what you were doing and arched his brow at the sight of the table.
"We still have this thing?" He questioned and you hummed quietly in response, too focused on the game.
"Hey Claire! Get over here, we're playing table tennis." You rolled your eyes at the intrusive and could sense Wanda refraining from doing the same until an idea popped into your head.
You caught the ball in your hand and smiled at Wanda's protests as you moved round to her side of the table just as your sister came out.
"I didn't even know we still had this." Claire laughed as she picked up another bat from the box.
"Maybe we should take it back with us." Wanda whispered to you and you bit your lip to contain your smile because yes, yes you should.
Inevitably, your siblings sucked at table tennis. You had suspected as much you just never thought they would be as bad as they were. They missed almost every hit and everytime they did they got increasingly angry, which meant they ended up flaring their arms around like idiots. It was a memory you would be sure to treasure.
"Stupid game" and "probably broken" kept echoing across the table until your siblings finally stormed off to throw a tantrum.
The rest of the day went by quietly. You and Wanda sat by the lake for most of the afternoon to enjoy the sun and heat. You reveled in the most recent memories of your siblings embarrassment and had to keep hushing down to childish whispered whenever one of them was nearby.
Surprisingly, dinner went by peacefully too.
You weren't asked anymore questions at the table. Instead, your family were content with talking about their upcoming plans between stealing glances at you and Wanda that the redhead never failed to notice.
The pair of you slipped off to your room the first moment you got and easily fell into bed besides one another. Wanda picked out a DVD from her bag of an old Sokovian show she used to watch as a child and had you hooked on as well as teaching you the language.
She settled down beside you and within the first few scenes she wrapped an arm around your shoulder so you could sink into her further like she did sometimes when you watched things together. You were barely paying attention to the series after that.
Despite trying to keep your focus on understanding what was happening in scenes of the show, you couldn't help but want to melt under the warmth of your best friend. You hoped it was something you got to experience more, you felt safer than you ever had in Wanda's arms.
Little did you know that having you in her arms was the most comforting feeling Wanda ever experienced and she always tried to do it as little as possible to refrain from falling for you more. It never worked.
*
You had thought waking up in Wanda's arms the morning before had been the best thing to awake to. But that day when you woke up not only were your legs tangled together again but the redhead was slowly stroking your hair while your head rested on her chest.
It was a gradual gesture that maintained a perfect rhythm and made you want to fall back asleep. But you were afraid you would mistake it for a dream later on. No, it was definitely real.
Luckily, your head was already tilted upwards slightly so when you secretly opened your eyes to risk a peek at your friend you saw her staring out the window as though she was in a trance. She was clearly so deep in thought she hadn't noticed you wake up, you had never seen her like it. But the feeling was too good to ignore, too compelling.
Soon enough, you found yourself drifting off back to sleep.
*
When you woke up again Wanda was gone. Her absence left an emptiness you knew wasn't good for you. As the days of your visit went on your fake relationship with Wanda was going to effect you even more when it was over.
Over...you couldn't think about that.
Once you got up and got changed you found Wanda in the kitchen looking at the news on her phone as she sipped her coffee.
"Morning, honey." You grinned. Wanda blushed slightly into her coffee, something you thought was undeniably adorable.
"Morning yourself." She tried to play off smoothly making you grin more.
You made breakfast for you both just as your mum came into the kitchen and greeted you both with an overplayed smile, already talking to Wanda about an upcoming party that she should go to. Wanda mumbled something about a busy schedule as you managed to whisp her away outside with your food.
Eventually, you and Wanda became bored with sitting around in the house when you had such amazing surroundings on your doorstep. You declared that you were going on a walk with the redhead and left before any of your family could invite themselves to go with you. Especially as you had told your friend to wear her swimwear underneath her clothing as you had a surprise for her.
You made a point of holding Wanda's hand as you left and once you were far away from the house went to take it back only for her to hold on tighter.
"You never know where they could be lurking." She joked as an excuse, so you starting swinging your arms playfully as to assure her you wanted your hands to stay linked together too.
You spent hours in those woods and was thankful for having a spy best friend who of course knew to pack the essentials like food and drinks so you could stay away from the house as long as you wanted.
The redhead brought so much you were able to have a small picnic on top of a hill that overlooked the large lake that stretched out all the way back to the house. You remembered thinking up stories as to explain the strange shape and curves to it as a child.
"It's beautiful here." Wanda said as she picked some grapes from the bunch between you.
"It is." You agreed with a fond smile.
"I used to want to live in a place like this." She muttered, sparking your interest.
"In the woods?" You asked curiously and she nodded.
"I thought I could retire to the woods and get a small cabin and I could grow my own food and that was all I needed." You hummed with a smile as you studied Wanda's features.
"Sounds lonely." You thought aloud.
"I'd have a cat." She said simply making you laugh. "I never used to think that but now when it crosses my mind and I picture that life... I picture someone else there with me." You knew she was imagining it as she spoke and you wished you could see exactly what it was she wanted.
"We could always downgrade the holiday house." You half joked as you nodded in the vague direction of the house. "Make it a simple cabin."
"We?" Wanda asked hopefully, the emotion clear before she had a chance to conceal it.
"There's no one I'd rather run away and live in the forest with." You joked although there was a lot of truth to your words. The redhead considered you for a while before smiling and nodded as though she had reached her own internal conclusion.
"Come on." You said suddenly as you stood up and dusted yourself off.
"You want to go back?" Wanda asked and you grinned.
"I'm going to show you that surprise." You declared and packed the remaining food away. Wanda did the same, eager to see the surprise you kept secret the whole way.
It was quite a way back to the house. The whole time Wanda kept asking more questions about it but you wouldn't say. She could only make guesses based on the swim wear which should have left only a few options, non of which she got right.
Finally, you arrived where you wanted to and grinned at Wabda before starting towards the edge. The redhead frowned as she watched you approach the ledge and became worried when she invisioned the steep slope that didn't always lead to water straight down. If you were to fall... your friend didn't have to wait long to see that. You slipped along the edge and disappeared from her view as she gave a startled cry and sprinted towards the edge and knelt over with wide eyes, expecting to see something that could haunt her forever but instead she saw you on a wide ledge but seven feet below her.
To your left was part of the ledge that had been dug into randomly and acted as perfect aid to get back into the woods above.
"Come down here." You beckoned as you starter to take your top off. Wanda's eyes widened more and quickly turned around and dropped down next to you steadily.
She glanced over the side of the small ledge to glance at the fifty foot drop into the water. There was nothing in the way to fall onto but there was no telling how deep that water was.
"You can't go in like that." You laughed as you kicked off your shorts and pushed them to the side.
Wanda's face heated up at the sight of you in your y/f/c bikini as you assessed the view. But even in her flustered state she was able to put it all together.
"You want to jump down there?" She exclaimed making you laugh.
"I've done it tones of times." You assured. "It's fun."
"It's a death wish! What if the waters not deep enough?" She questioned making you laugh more.
"Are you scared, Wan?" You teased as you took a step towards her making her avert her eyes from your form. She scoffed to play it off.
"Of course not." You hummed in faux belief.
"Well then I'll see you down there." You grinned and took a couple of steps back until your feet were no longer on the platform and you were plummeting down towards the water where you landed with a splash.
Wanda held her breath as she waited for you to resurface for a few agonising seconds. When you did with a gasp and started kicking around frantically to keep yourself afloat with your built up adrenaline the redhead sighed in relief and started taking off her own shorts and shirt and placed them next to your things.
You've jumped from higher. She told herself as she rocked on her feet. And you have powers! She argued back before she shoved those thoughts aside and threw herself off the ledge and into the water below. You laughed as she came back up and pushed her hair away from her way. You swam closer to her and saw her wide smile.
"Fuck." Wanda whispered with a laugh as she looked back up from where you had both come.
"Told you it was fun." You teased as you tried not to focus on the low cut on her bikini bra.
"Yeah yeah." She laughed and paused when she looked past you and saw you were surprisingly close to the house. She could see the outline of your family sat outside.
"They're looking." Wanda muttered. You could tell by the look on her face who she was talking about. It wasn't like there was anyone else around either.
"Do you think they've caught on?" You asked nervously as you stared at Wanda's brown eyes to stop you looking at your family.
"Maybe..." She considered and glanced around. "It's not like we've been acting like that much of a couple." You scoffed at that.
"At home everyone assumes we're dating and the one time we need it be believable it isn't." You rolled your eyes but couldn't help the smile.
"I know." Wanda laughed for a second but then paused. "Then let's give them something believable." She gently placed both her hands on your waist and pulled you slowly towards her. You let her guide you and took extra notice of the water droplets across her face. You almost trembled when your bare stomachs pressed together in the water lightly.
Wanda's soft hands left your waist and gripped your thighs to pull you up to wrap your legs around her own waist. You couldn't help but giggle at the gesture as you wrapped your arms around the redhead's neck and held onto her waist with your legs in a lock.
"Can I?" Wanda whispered when she lifted your chin with her finger and her other hand came round the back of your neck.
"Just shut up and kiss me." You demanded with a playful smile and leaned in to do it yourself.
You smiled into the kiss and felt Wanda do the same. It was everything you had ever imagined it to be. Her lips were soft and fell into place perfectly against your own as they moved together. Your mind was hazey and your stomach was doing flips at the realisation that you were actually kissing your long time crush. You forced yourself to remember that it was all a show. That Wanda didn't mean it. But she put on a believable act and kissed passionately, even slipping her tongue through your parter lips to explore your mouth further.
When she eventually pulled away you rested your foreheads together to catch your breath and grinned as you closed your eyes.
"You're a really good kisser." You blurted out making Wanda chuckle.
"Not too bad yourself." She teased.
"I hope not, we're gonna have to do that again." You smiled and instantly realized that sounded like a confession you desperetly wished you could claim. "You know because...Once probably wasn't enough to make it entirely believable." You rambled and Wanda nodded somewhat stiffly and let your legs drop back down. You wanted to say something to her, anything but it was all stuck on the tip of your tongue.
Just as you opened your mouth to speak, a small murmurarion of starlings flew across the lake, some of them skimming the water then gaining height again as they got closer to you and Wanda. You both ducked instinctively as they flew over your heads and off towards the forest again as you watched them in awe until they disappeared. You glanced up at the sky and noticed the sun had gone behind a cloud, ableing you to continue looking up at the other birds higher up.
You kicked your legs up slightly so you could lay on your back and outstretch your arms to keep you afloat in the water so you could stare up at the sky without hurting your neck.
You didn't realise Wanda mimicked you until her hands brushed against yours. She withdrew it as soon as you touched and went to murmmer an apology but you smiled and held onto her hand as you both lay watching the birds.
Neither of you had to say anything. It was a comfortable and peaceful silence that was occasionally filled with birds chirping or the sound of a calm breeze. Of all the things you expected to feel on that trip, relaxed was not one of them.
You stayed like that for a while until you were both snapped out of your daydreams by the distant yell that declared dinner. Well, you had to go back to them eventually.
Both of you took your time swimming back to dry land and only felt a shiver when you left the water and the breeze hit you. Wanda spotted and reached the towels before you and wrapped yours around you tightly. You thanked her with a small blush as you both sauntered up to the house where the mouthwatering smell of a barbecue greeted you. Your dad was leaning over it while shooing your brother away as he tried to offer his 'help'.
You and Wanda went inside to change swiftly and came back outside as the food was being placed on plates and your mum finished setting up the buffet. Everyone starter helping themselves and you piled as much food as you could onto the plate. You parents had asked what food Wanda liked and when you gave them a brief list you added in a few things you knew you both loved.
"You gonna eat all that?" Anna asked as she eyed all the food on your plate. Guilt and insecurities washed over you until Wanda purposefully grabbed a large handful of small sausage rolls and put them on her plate that was piled with a considerable amount more food than your own. You smiled at the reassuring gesture as she sat down with a satisfied grin on her face when she saw Anna close her mouth to stay quiet.
"Thanks." You whispered to her as you sat down.
"If you don't eat all that I will." She declared. You were pretty sure she went back for seconds.
Instead of disappearing back to your room like you did the previous nights, you and Wanda stayed with your family for a while after dinner. It wasn't to do with their company, more the mesmerising fire in the firepit you all sat around. You were cuddled up into Wanda's side with a blanket over both of you as you stared at the flames, smiling at their small flickers and dances.
"So Wanda," one of your sisters began, "are any of the other Avengers...you know." She nodded her head in the direction of you both.
Oh boy you though.
"I don't think it's my place to say." Wanda said because yes, a lot of the Avengers were queer.
"Oh come on, you can tell us." Anna encouraged as she sat forward eagerly.
"I could, but I'm not going to." Wanda continued to defy.
"Lay off it guys." You mumbled but was ignored. Your family took it in turns saying her teammates names in hopes of sparking a reaction, clearly forgetting they were facing someone who had been trained by Natasha Romanoff.
"Stark!" Claire said but was instantly shut down by the others.
"He's married!" Dalton objected.
"Could still be bi though." Claire tried but Dalton just scoffed.
"I suppose there's going to be more surprises."
"What does that mean?" Wanda asked with narrowed eyes, feeling protective of her teammates. Dalton met her gaze with his own challenging one.
"I just never thought one of the Avengers would be a dyke." You felt Wanda stiffen as you all held your breath. There was no way to tell what was going through the redhead's mind, especially as after all those years of friendship you still didn't even know what team she batted for. She was an ally at least, but would she see this as her battle to fight?
Upon getting no reaction, Dalton continued. "It makes sense why you'd hang out with y/n though, we always knew something was wrong with her but-"
"That's enough." Your mum snapped with a guilty expression she failed to mask. You swallowed hard and moved to get up, deciding you had heard enough.
"Then you're idiots." Wanda stated as she glared daggers at your brother while you sunk down.
"I'll have you know I have a doctorate-"
"Your idiots." She repeated. "There's nothing wrong with y/n, which is impressive considering she's grown up around you lot." You looked at your friend in awe as she continued.
"She's the most amazing person I've ever known, including any of the Avengers. She's everything that you're not and I'm lucky to call her my girlfriend. It doesn't matter what any of you think of her, I love her and I always will." She declared as shot daggers at each individual family member who had fallen silent. She took your hand and pulled you up from your seat to take you inside.
You couldn't get her saying she loved you out of your head. You reminded yourself over and over again on the way to your room that it was just an act. That the redhead was making her point. But God, how you wished it was real.
She was so gentle with you as she guided you through the house. When you got to your room and broke down sobbing she held you on the bed for a long time until your cries turned to sniffles. The thing was, you weren't sure what you were crying over. Sure, what Dalton had said had hurt. As did the confirmation that your whole family had always looked down on you. But you had known that was the case for a long time, you had moved on from it.
Instead, you may have being crying over what you didn't know and didn't have. How much of what Wanda said was true? It was all based off of something that wasn't real. What if she saw you the same way your family did?
When you stopped crying you became aware of Wanda gently stroking your hair as she rested her head on yours and held you close to her. You remembered the memories you had accumulated over the past few days with her. The kisses, the hand holding, the nights together, how she stood up for you like no one ever had. You loved her so much.
"I think we should go tomorrow." Wanda mumbled and you nodded into her shoulder.
"I'm not going to leave you though, you know that right? You can stay at mine and we'll watch more of those crappy American movies you like." She mocked lightly making you chuckle against her. "Whatever you want."
"I just want you." You said honestly. You knew you shouldn't have said that, but you were too emotionally drained to care.
"I just want you too, y/n." You pulled away from the redhead to look at her clearly.
"I don't think you know what I mean." You sniffed and she smiled at you fondly.
"I mean what I said earlier, around the fire." Your eyes widened slightly and you held your breath.
"It was all an act though." You whispered and Wanda chuckled as she exhaled sharply.
"No y/n." "I think I am inlove with you." She said as she took ahold of your hand and searched your face for any signs of a reaction to her confession.
"Me?" You questioned, not quite believing it.
"Yes you, idiot." You smiled and sighed in relief, not being able to find the words to express your overflowing happiness and numerous other emotions you couldn't quite pinpoint. You let go of Wanda's hand and brought them both up to cup her cheeks. You had done a lot more handholding than kissing in the previous few days. It needed to be evened out.
You closed the gap between you and kissed Wanda with just as much passion as you had in the lake, except all hesitation and questions were gone. Because you knew she loved you. Oh God she loved you. You grinned into the kiss at the thought and felt her hand fall to your hip while the other caressed the side of your neck in the most gentle manner you had ever seen from her.
When you eventually pulled away you rested your forehead against hers, a smile still playing on both your lips.
"Told you we'd have to do that again." You said and and laughed. "I love you too."
"Well I hoped that wasn't a pity kiss." She joked and you smacked her arm playfully.
"It definetly was not and I'll prove it to you by taking you on a date when we get back." You promised as you sat back to look at her clearly.
"Oh yeah?" She asked with a playful smirk and leaned over so her face was inches away from yours.
"Yeah." You said back.
"Well until then, my real girlfriend should definetly just keep kissing me." She said as she pushed you down gently and kissed you again. You smiled against her gleefully.
"Your girlfriend would love to."

"What happened to all of our promises?" with Janus and Virgil? 💙
the prompt list and I’m gonna tag @sanders-spring while I’m at it bc this is technically familial anxceit (which is tomorrow, but I might be busy tomorrow so I'm posting it today. shhhhh, don't rat me out!).
Thank you for the the ask Lost!!!!!! I hope you'll like it!!!!
This did turn out angsty but in my defense I spent like a good two hours reading your fics so, like, I'm blaming you for this /lh
(it will get better if i do continue this au but this chapter does end up on a bitter note.)
Pairing: familial anxceit
Warnings: the story is centered around Virgil and Janus grieving for the same person, angst, implied neglectful parent, tell me if I missed anything.
Word count: 811
Ever since the accident Janus found himself sitting in his tiny living room in the dead of the night, trying to shield himself from the nightmares with nothing more but a wine glass.
The last few weeks were hard. Both on Janus and on the three kids that suddenly found themselves under his care.
Well…Perhaps ‘suddenly’ wasn't the best choice to be used here. The lawsuit was deliberate, even if John didn’t put up much of a fight in keeping his sons. Still, the pace of it all left Janus with little time to think of suitable housing arrangements for the kids and himself.
Right.
He still needed to call about that house on the outskirts
Janus rubbed his temple as he could feel the far-to-familiar headache coming back. Between fighting for his nephews, memorizing their school schedules, doctors appointments, keeping his current job and finding a new, bigger apartment Janus didn’t have enough time to breath, let alone grieve for his-
He tensed as he heard footsteps cracking down his stair. His body relaxing slightly when he caught sight of a familiar figure.
“Virgil?” The teen snapped his head to stare at the man, eyes wide, his body tense. Despite the dim light Janus could see the kid digging his nails into the sleeve of their sweater. “Would you like to sit with me?”
He was sure Virgil would run. Turn on his heel and disappear upstairs. Pretending like seeing Janus downstairs was another part of the bad dream that haunted them all since his mother died.
But he didn’t.
Instead he moved slowly, eyes fixed on the carpet as he edged closer to the lawyer. Janus scooted to the edge of his tiny sofa to give the teen space but to his surprise Virgil sat right next to him. Silently leaning against his uncle' side.
It felt familiar.
Safe.
Like he was a child again, sneaking into Maria’s room after a particularly bad dream. His sister calmed him with soft whispers and gentle hugs as they sat on the floor, hiding under her soft purple duvet. Her pink flashlight flickering as she rusted his hair, telling him it was ok now. She’ll be there whenever he wakes up from a bad dream to keep him safe.
He draped the yellow blanket he sat under over Virgil’s legs.
It felt tense.
Horribly awkward.
Like the both of them still learned how to exist around each other again.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“No.”
He hooked his arm around his nephew, rubbing soothing circles up and down his arm as Virgil leaned closer.
He wasn’t good at consoling people. That was always his sister’s job. Happy and vibrant. Ready to heal everyone with just the gentlest of smiles.
But she wasn’t here anymore, leaving Janus to pick up the shards of her broken family, cutting his fingers on every sharp piece as he tried desperately to glue the back together.
But it wasn’t enough, because she was gone and for the first time since her wedding there wasn’t a lie Janus could tell to fix things. All his flowery language rendered useless because no matter what he said it still wouldn’t bring her back. And every excuse, every assurance felt hollow.
“What happened to all our promises?”
“What?” Janus blinked himself back from his train of thought. Letting Virgil's words slowly sink in.
“Mom-” Virgil raised his sleeve to furiously rub at his eye. “she promised she would show us the old tree house grandma built. She promised she would bake.-” his voice hitched as his nails dug into Janus' arm.”-She would bake that frog- frog cake Pat- and… and I wanted to-... to help but…-”
Janus squeezed him tighter, Virgil gripping the back of his uncle's shirt like their life depended on it. Letting go of whatever shaky walls were still in place as he bawled his eyes out.
They sounded quiet and broken, like despite all this he still tried to make sure he wouldn't wake his younger siblings up. Janus continued to rub circles along his nephew's back. Not stopping when the teen finally stopped shaking with every shallow breath he took.
“-she promised she would stay.” It was barely above a whisper and if Virgil wasn’t soaking his shoulders with tears Janus would have missed it.
“I know.” Janus said, hating how much his voice trembled. He could feel warm tears sliding down his cheeks as well, burning every inch of his skin on it’s path, but he didn’t dare raise his arms, still tightly wrapped around Virgil, to dab it away.
They stayed like that, neither of them daring to move. All that shielded them from the world was the thin yellow blanket. But unlike all these times Maria told him all would be ok, this wasn't a nightmare they could wake up from.

The devil's desire | Yoongi
Tumblr media
Summary;
You fell in love with a man of many pasts, however he desired more than a relationship. He wanted your soul for eternity.
Words: 13k
Devil yoongi! Demon au! Human reader
Very Dark themes
Warnings: religious concepts, gore, porn without plot, death, big dick yoongi, clubbing, kidnapping, non-con touching, blood, cnc, prey ( y/n ), stalker yoongi, drugged, drugs, chains, cutting, rough sex,
"She's almost ready sir!" a winged creature announced. Nodding in his throne, he took the mirror and looked through it. There you were getting ready to meet a mysterious guy at a club or well hoping to once again. He smirked devilishly knowing you remembered to come back to this particular club.
He previously brought you to this nightclub in Korea, hidden through an alleyway in the darkest part of Busan. There was danger and a constant fear of being robbed, kidnapped. Even if Korea was a safe place, things like kidnapping and murder still happen and even more so at night.
He remembered that you kept a knife and a taser with you, he liked the vulnerability you had going to a place not meant for angels let alone humans at night. He found it charming how oblivious you are to your surroundings as well. He was a man of darkness and hell for sure, but one thing was for sure. He only craved humans who were pure and light energetically. 'Suppose you did know that the Club was own by the devil himself, would that really stop you' he thought.
He watched her put on clothes and noticed how delicate she was in his eyes. No, this wasn't the first time he'd watch her. Not the last either, it seemed like a generational curse in his eyes. He wasn't mad he placed it on the females to feel tempted by his actions, however, each one passed the test. you however failed it the first two times, making it the third time.
Sighing, he put the mirror down and stood up. Stretching, he allowed his black feather wings to elongate and move around before putting them away. Looking at his watch it was a quarter past 11 pm, he'd knew you want to be early and try and catch a good table. However the little worry of what if someone wanted to take you before him, hurt you before him. The thoughts riled him up, making him grab his keys and wait by the portal. Besides the gate doesn't open until 11:59, so his intrusiveness can calm for now.
While waiting, he took out the cute little human hand mirror you'd gifted him a while back. He looked at himself and the scar over his left eye, "maybe this is what attracts them" he chuckled softly.
As time fastened, he waited for the lock in the air to appear. He waited long and hard for that little red lock and once it appeared, he opened all the portals from his underworld to the human world and the other one which lead stright to his club.
Formally known as 666 plaza to hadians, the chosen humans only knew it as void 218. To you it was just another club on the holy day of Sunday. Although you were never brought up with Christianity, you had the basics that everyone knew, loved, and hated.
Waiting by the gates or humanly known as "doors" you pulled out your phone to realize there was no battery or charge. Confused as you could've sworn it was full when you left, you herd the doors open and the mini line began moving. Your eyes wandered the room to find the stairs that led to the upper level where you would meet and see Yoongi. You knew it was stupid to keep doing this, but with yours and his schedule it wasn't at all.
Passing by the few people, you found upstairs and walked up seeing there were already people inside which confused you, but you paid little attention to it. Waiting by the usual black velvet seats and area, you head a familiar voice.
"Is this your regular peach vodka with light ice?" yoongi asked loudly over the now loud music playing. Nodding, you sat up and greeted him before getting your drink. Little did u know about his plans with you or what tonight was gonna be.
Smiling softly, yoongi was gentle eyes admired your beauty as he get down with his own drink. He took a sip of his own drink that was laced with a sleeping drug, one that'd do nothing to him and more to you.
"So what are you doing here?" He asked knowingly.
"Well, it's a Sunday and I have nothing planned so I thought I come by" you lied, hoping the white lie would slip. Nodding, yoongi put his hand on your thighs and moved closer to talk to you about life and each other week. You mentioned something about the campus or school you were studying and he lied about his "forensics" job and how hard it was to see how people died. Continuing, he bought the two of you more drinks and when the timing was right offered one of his. Thanking him for the kind jester, you took a sip. He smiled and also took a sip after you, then placed it back down.
"Good isn't it?" he said, reaching over to his phone and at the time. Noticing he did so you hummed and snuck another sip. Then another. Whatever was in had you almost drinking his entire cup down.
"Omg what is this, what's making it so good. I can't put my finger on it" she said as her words slowed down and her eyes blinked slowly. He watched her body start to feel tired, then at the right moment whispered in her ear "apple, cherry, lime, it's a light alchcolic drink and right, drugs."
Soon as her eyes closed and body dropped, he mustered enough strength to pick her up and sling you over his shoulder. "Another one taken by the devils favorite drink, poison apple," he whispered knowing nobody cared to stop him not could. Well not if they wanted hells punishment if not worse death, even if they were immortal. Walking up the last set of stairs he opened the portal and handed the keys to his servant and told him to look after.
Noting the girl, the servant nodded and knew the king was gonna take his time and would be in a long "meeting." Taking charge of the place, yoongi walked up to his Castle surrounded by blue flames in the middle of nowhere and walked in. He demanded for total privacy, meaning nobody in or even near the castle or be banished for eternity and with that everyone wondered what that soul did to get his undivided attention. From there gossip spread about you from one to another creature and it traveled fast.
Meanwhile, he laid you on the bed and looked at his watch. The drug last about 30 minutes and about 20minuets have gone. From there he requested one trusted worker with a list. The list was :
The devils list
Body Chains and rope
Salt and a black cross
2 Robes
Wipes
Black paint
Sheep's blood
Lube any flavor
Nodding the worker flew off and yoongi allowed his wings to expand out his back and eyes to turn a dark blue color as his hair contained white strips. He watched your sleeping body, before checking the time and seeing he has 5 minutes left before you wake up. Taking that in he stretched his neck and before activating his speed and undressing you, cleaning the area around the bed, making sure the chain locks are stable and if not changing them, turning off lights and lighting candals all around the room and the whole castle and finally sitting down at the edge. Checking the time once again, he had 3 minutes left and so did the worker before he'd get pissed and with that thought the worker came to drop everything off before yoongi told him to get lost.
With the activation of speed he quickly undressed, sat the cup near the bed and filled it with sheeps blood, put salt near the edge without touching it as it stung him, put the cross around his neck and began drawing a ritual circle around the bed then finnaly the walls. To end everything he placed the chains on your hands and feet then connected to each end of the bed. The rest of the stuff he just put next to the bed and laid naked above you waiting for you to wake up.
He knew the drug was strong, but he didnt think it was that strong so he checked the time again and 10 minutes had passed by. Sighing, he began taking the knife and cut a slit on his wrist and placed the wound to your mouth. After a few blinks, you began to wake up and within a second you panked and a minute later realised you were chained.
Weak, scared, targeted, blood covered lips, chained and his favorite vulnerability he finally felt aroused at the sight. With lust in his eyes and an aura darker than night himself, he slowly kissed your cheek.
"Welcome to hell baby" he greeted, confused you closed your eyes and for once prayed you'd be able to wake up in where you left to only get the image of him drugging you and making you pass out. To then opne them and see the same sight.
"Wouldn't that make you?" She paused trying to yank the chains.
"Hades, satan the devil or whatever you humans call me for ruling the underworld. Then yes that's me and as you see, you're caged like a bug trapped in a spider's web. How cute. How naive to trust anyone you've properly met either. " he whispered the last bit in your ear as his lips traveled around your chest and neck leaving hickeys as he moved.
Groaning, you tried yanking the chains hearing a noise and hoping it ment it broke to realise no he fooled you with the sound of his nails knocking on the wood.
"Got you" he chuckled as you began scared, moving his lips towards your breast he sucked softly getting slight moans from your mouth. "Mm good girl continue with it an d maybe I'll spare your soul" he joked, sucking and groaning your other breast with his hands. Ignoring him and forcing your mouth to close. He raised an eyebrow and sat up, he then looked at your mouth and then his length.
"That wasn't smart now was it dsrling?" He asked, as his crouch hovered your mouth and his length being rubbed on your face as the other hand rested on the wall. "Noe open wide and if not, I can allways just shove it. Dont think about biting as i can manually remove teeth of needed" he mentioned as tears rolled down your eyes as he slowly entered his length.
"Good girl, suck it like that" he groaned, slowly moving his hips all the way in and out. With doing so he admired the trlaclesnt salty wetness driping from her eyes that he took a finger and wiped it. Caressing her face as he continued thrusting and groaning till he felt hard enough and then pulled out. Wiping her eyes again he grabbed the lube and posed the non negotiable question of
"May I pretty angel, take this as mine?" He whispered softly as he leaned down to her ear. Nodding yes a tear ran and he licked it clean, causing a slight shiver down her body. "Good" he replied, putting lube around his own length and stoking it on.
"If you cum on me will I get pregnant?" You asked shyly.
"Mm, well yes and that's my goal princes or should I say queen. Your body is mine after all." he tells, taking his fingers and tracing a cross between your chest as he watches a dark mark appear in a mini cross between your chest.
Crying harder knowing you've not only been kidnapping, but there was an even little chnace of seeing your family friends and well your little pet. "I love when you cry my love" he said softly as his fingers softly rubbed against you clit and his lips attach to yours. Knowingly you kissed back and surprisingly it felt like comfort but tasted like sin and poison. One your body will soon adapt to. As your mouths moved in unison, his fingers rubbed softly around your bud and you were finally able to relax and enjoy the feeling. He had an undeniable hold on your body, one your soul started to grow a liking too the longer her rubbed and kissed your lips. Soon you became hungry for more and grinded against his hand and with the hint he rubbed quicker as you moaned down his throat and his free hand now snaking behind your back. Moaning more you called his name, in which he loved begging you to say again.
"YOONGi!"you moaned louder as his stomach and cock felt it making it twitch slightly. stoping his finger he guided his tip and put his chin on your neck and slid in slowly, taking his time as you adjusted before moving faster. You pulled the chains trying to hold onto him but he shook his head no and softly held your body up with the help of the chains and began pounding into you.
No it was not a speed nor length you were used to, but the feeling you could by a heartbeat. You legs became weak, your back arched hard, your mouth could only stay open and your head was in a daze as he fucked you without mercy. His length was big enough to make you scream from the top of your lungs and beg for more. He loved that and too started moaning which soon started to sound like deep breathes and heavy grunts. He loved the warm, pulsing feeling of your pussy on him as it dripped with cum around him.
"Ah, fuck, That's hot!" he moaned loudly. Moving his hips closer, he pushed his length in deeper and the sounds of his hips crashing into yours echoed the room. You were now at a point of no return, all you could do was moan and take him, which only increased his horniness and overall arousal.
"I'm close!" yoongi groaned and panted as his hips movements slowed down, but the deepness was still there. Shopping, yoongi's body out of tiredness fell on top of yours and he kissed your neck softly. Without enough energy to pull out, he came deep, groaning in your neck and laying still. Both overly fucked out and deep breathing, laid there until yoongi got enough energy to unchain your hands and drink from the cup of blood that started to reek and fill the room. The room that once smelt like lavender and vanilla now smelled like sex and sheep's blood. Leaning down to kiss you, you kissed back with your body begging to ache like hell and body starting to contort you screamed in pain. Whispering something into your neck, he held you close to his chest as you grabbed and scratched his back till the blood came from it.
"Submit and it'll go quickly." he whispered tired as can be. Taking his advice, you closed your body and let it take over. Suddenly your eyes and hair became white as a dove and the pain stopped. Not only did he claim you as his, the kiss of blood crowned you queen of the underworld.
They laid naked as each could no longer have the strength to get up, but hold each other in a soft hug. Comferting and relaxing, considering what had to happen. They slept wedded that night, perfectly times as the full moon was now full and the ritual circle could light up red as the two came into harmony.
