There was some random pop song playing over the speakers in Family Video. You weren’t even fully paying attention to it, but that didn’t stop you from bopping around to it, softly singing along under your breath. You were looking through different rows of movies, trying to find something to watch for when you spent the night at Steve’s. Nothing seemed particularly exciting, so you made your way back over to the counter, where you spotted him talking to Robin and a pair of older customers.
He was absolutely hamming it up, turning on his effortless charm that seemed to win everyone over. You saw Robin roll her eyes at something he’d said, which caused you to giggle. If you didn’t know Robin and considered her one of your best friends, you might have been jealous of her. She was effortlessly pretty, funny, smart, and her dynamic with Steve was something to behold. But she’d quickly reassured you that they were absolutely platonic, more like a brother and sister than anything, and that she absolutely had no desire for him or any man.
She caught your eye before mouthing something behind his back; you couldn’t quite understand but you were sure it had something to do with him being a dumbass. You gave her a small nod before walking back over to the counter, leaning against it as you reached for the newspaper just slightly out of reach. You figured that if no movie at the store sounded good, then maybe there would be something decent enough playing in theaters.
Just as you reached for the paper, the edge of one of the pages caught the tip of your index finger and nicked it. You hissed, immediately pulling your hand back and shaking it, “ouch.”
Your little sound of surprise caught everyone’s attention as Steve, Robin, and their couple of customers turned to look at you. Your face flushed with warmth as you let out a small huff before holding up your finger. A few drops of blood had welled up and fallen onto the newspaper as you shrugged lightly, “just a paper cut.”
“Baby,” Steve was standing in front of you in an instant, long, slender fingers wrapping around your wrist as he examined the almost non-existent little cut. The initial sting and surprise had worn off, but he still searched your face to make sure you were okay, “does it hurt?”
“You just gotta clean it with some alcohol and stick a band-aid on it,” the older man was trying to be helpful but Steve wasn’t having it. You tried to peek around his shoulder to thank the man, but Steve quickly stepped in the way.
“I’ve got it,” he waved him off, reaching for a tissue under the and gently wrapping it around your finger. You raised an eyebrow at your boyfriend, your very overprotective, gentle, dopey sweetheart of a boyfriend. He ignored you, despite the fact that you knew you were watching him.
“Just wanna keep it clean - even the little cuts can get infected-”
“Yeah, yeah,” Steve’s hands found your face as he gave you a concerned look, “I’m going to go to the back and get the first aid, okay?”
“Stevie,” you leaned up and pressed a kiss to the tip of his nose, “I’m alright it’s already stopped bleeding.”
“You never know-”
“Steve,” you could both hear the amusement in Robin’s voice as she looked back at the two of you, “you’re going to smother her and I will be very mad if you’re the reason we don’t have her anymore.”
“It’s okay, Stevie,” you whispered softly, “I know you mean well.”
“I’ll be right back, yeah?”
“Yeah,” you agreed as he quickly stepped past you, murmuring under his breath. You looked at Robin before both of you shrugged as if to say oh that Steve!
“You should keep him, you know,” the older woman gave you a small smile as she patted her husband’s arm, “the only people that panic over such a small thing are either crazy or in love. Or crazy in love. Either way.”
“Gladys,” the older man looked at his wife as she just smiled at him, “come on, we should get going before you meddle too much.”
“Alright, alright,” she agreed, “have a good afternoon, kids!”
You watched them go in silence, looking at Robin as she only offered you a knowing little smile. You opened and closed your mouth a few times before crossing your arms over your chest and looking away. Your whole face felt like it was on fire.
“Hey,” Steve came back out, waving the small box of emergency supplies. You were sure that you were staring at him with the softest of smiles and dreamiest look in your eyes. He seemed surprised by your silent response, turning to look over his shoulder to see what you could possibly be looking at. Robin cleared her throat before muttering something about having to go to the back to do some inventory, “w-what’s going on? Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Like what?” you held out your hand to him and he quickly took it, lacing his fingers through yours. You took the kit from his other hand and set it onto the counter, “what am I looking at you like, love?”
"I don't know," a light of flush rose up on his cheeks as he tried to play off, "like I'm the best thing in the world or something. Like you…"
Oh. Oh. Oh. Realization hit him like a ton of bricks as he inhaled sharply before meeting your eyes. A small, nervous little smile tugged on the corners of his mouth. You'd managed to render Steve Harrington speechless.
"Like I what?" your voice was so soft and sweet like honey as you gently carded a hand through his hair, "like I love you?"
"Y-yeah," he almost choked on the word as he looked at you and huffed with nervous laughter, "something like that."
"Oh," you whispered, "that must be because I do. I love you, Steve Harrington."
His face fell for a second, before he was grinning like a fool, all of him practically lighting up. He bit the inside of his cheek for a moment before nodding lightly, his heart racing.
"I, ugh…let me clean your finger," his cheeks were pink as he leaned around you, grabbing the kit and popping it open, looking for an alcohol wipe. You couldn’t help but giggle softly at his response to your words. You’d been dating for a few months, had been friends for even longer, but neither of you had been quite brave enough to say those words yet. Until now…and that apparently threw Steve for a complete loop.
“Stevie?” He took your hand and gently wiped the cut, removing any remaining traces of blood and the ink of the paper before making a small noise of satisfaction. He reached for a band, ripping it open and wrapping it around your finger, making sure it wasn’t too tight. He still hadn’t said a word, “Steve.”
He looked back at you, his eyes soft, but nervous. He brought your hand to his lips and pressed a small kiss to it, “better?”
“Of course,” you promised, setting your hand on his face as you stroked his cheek, “perhaps a little overboard, but appreciated nonetheless. Did you hear what I said?”
“Well, you can never be too careful,” he scratched the back of his neck nervously, bouncing slightly on his heels, “infections aren’t a thing to mess around with.”
“Steve.”
“One wrong move and it could easily spread and then boom - amputation.”
“Steve Harrington.”
“Y-yes?” you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him closer, bumping the tip of your nose against his, “you’re really pretty.”
“You’re really pretty too,” you kissed his nose and he made a small sound in the back of his throat, “did you hear what I said?”
“Uh huh,” he nodded lightly, “I just thought…maybe you meant someone else?”
You looked at him for a moment, his expression sheepish as he shrugged. You burst into a fit of laughter that took him by surprise, “who else would I be talking to? Is there another Steve Harrington in the room?”
“S-so you meant me?” he asked as you nodded, “you meant me. Wait - you love me? Are you sure?”
“Are you really asking me if I’m sure of my own feelings?” you tilted your head to the side and watched him with curious eyes as he opened and closed his mouth a few times. You gently took his face in your hands, hoping to calm him down, “relax, love. I’m telling you how I feel, yeah? I love you - I’m in love with you. Yes, you, Steve Harrington. I don’t want you to feel like you have to say it back, and you’re not obligated to. You can say it when you want - if it’s ever true. I don’t…expect you to. I guess-”
He cut off your nervous rambling, amused how quickly the roles had reversed, by leaning in and kissing you. His kiss was slow and languid but somehow still saccharine, tasting of the chocolate candy he’d eaten and your strawberry chapstick he’d stolen. Your hands dropped to his waist as he held you, one of his hands going to the back of your neck to hold you close. Steve kissed you till you were breathless and pulled back with a happy little smile.
“I love you,” he promised, letting out a nervous little chuckle, “I’m in love with you. I didn’t want to scare you off, but I was ready to say that a long time ago.”
“Yeah?”
“Mhmm,” he stole a few more soft kisses as you practically turned to putty in his arms, “yeah.”
“Get a room!” you could hear the exasperated tone of Dustin’s voice as the bell above the front door rang. You quickly pulled apart and found Steve’s brood of children watching you both with various expressions ranging from mild disgust to pure happiness, “we’re just children, we don’t need to see that!”
“Sorry,” you mumbled with a sheepish little smile, putting a hand on Steve’s chest to gently push him away, “we just, umm…”
“She had a paper cut,” Steve pointed lamely at your bandaged finger, which you held up, “was just..helping her.”
“By sucking off her face?” Lucas rolled his eyes as Max nudged him in the side, “don’t see how that helps with anything.”
“Shut up,” Max hissed as you and Steve exchanged a small laugh, “they’re dating. Let them be all…cute or whatever.”
“Guys,” Dustin sighed as he reeled everyone’s attention back, “this is all great, but we have much more important business at hand.”
“Which would be?”
“We have to figure out our movie marathon for this weekend. And snacks.”
You looked at Steve before laughing lightly and pressing your forehead against his. You kissed his cheek before sighing wistfully and whispering, “hey - I still love you, you know.”
“Me too,” he grinned, “I still love you too.”

Balloon With a Boom
“This is war you Dumbass!!!”
Slappy ignored him and chucked a water balloon at Chucky hitting him directly in the face.
“……That’s how it’s gonna be huh?”
Chucky took of in a dead sprint chasing after his brother. Slappy was bobbing and weaving throwing cushions at Chucky. Chucky was doing his best to dodge them nearly getting head shot a couple of times. They both were laughing like little kids and enjoying this “game” they were playing. They both threw whatever they could at each other. Chucky took things one step to far grabbing an emergency weapon he had laying around. In this case was a hammer and threw it at him out of pure instinct.
The was a loud clink that shattered the laughing of the two. And Slappy loud agonizing scream.
“Shit you alright bro?”
Slappy was in to much pain. It felt like a hot boiling poker was being rammed into the side of his face. The pain growing more and more intense.
“Ah God. Look in s—-soorrryyyy. Man. Uhhh. Do you want a cookie or something?”
Chucky doesn’t know how to deal with emotions and situations like this. So he went to the only source he trusted. Tiffany.
“TIFFFF!!!!!”
Tiffany rushed down the stairs and saw Slappy lying on the floor clutching a hand over his mouth and Chucky being clueless.
After getting the whole situation, situated, she instructed the two men to sit down. She ordered her husband to grab an ice pack and Slappy to hang tight.
Chucky brought a pack and handed it to Tiffany and watched her masterfully repair his best friend. Without even breaking a sweat.
“Try to lay over hard food for a while, ok?”
Slappy just nodded his head and held the cool compress against him jaw.

Okay I’ve decided to do a single rec after I finish one novel hahaha because if I wait to get around to it all it’ll never happen! Anyway because @sarah-yyy has been reading it and I’ve gotten a lot of asks/replies on this, I’m just going to do one huge list for one of my faves so everyone knows what’s going on and where to find things XD
- Part of Min’s ‘Why You Should Read’ Series -
Summary:
This is set in a historical setting where men can marry other men, but it’s usually reserved for sons who were not borne by the official main first wife of the patriarch of the family, i.e. a son born by a concubine in a family may be forced to marry a man to keep him from being able to become the next family’s patriarch for example. This is because any family’s next leader needs to be able to have children with a wife who married in as a zheng shi (lawful wife), and not a ce shi (second wife) or any other concubines/mistresses etc. Most of these men who marry other men have to take them as their zheng shi and lawful spouse in a sense, and the same goes for the royal family.
The story starts with third prince Jing Shao, who was forced to marry Mu Han Zhang, a Marquis’ second son, by the Empress and Emperor, thereby officially and effectively cutting him out of the race for the throne. He’s mocked by the public as everyone knows what this means, and for the next 10 years, he neglects Mu Han Zhang, blaming him for his predicament, and deliberately showers his three other concubines with affection in front of him, but 10 years later, when Jing Shao is accused of treason, everyone leaves him except for Mu Han Zhang. They are chased to the edge of the cliff by soldiers, and Mu Han Zhang dies in his arms having taken an arrow meant for him earlier, and Jing Shao jumps off the cliff with his dead body, and promises that if there’s a next life, he will do everything Han Zhang says, and love him.
He wakes up immediately on the night of his marriage with Han Zhang, and realizes that he’s been given a second chance to make everything right. Han Zhang is definitely afraid of him, humiliated and angry when he first wakes up after how rough Jing Shao was with him earlier on their wedding night, and he has no memories of their past life. Jing Shao then sets to SHOWER HAN ZHANG with affection, love and basically everything, because he realized that this is the only person who stayed by his side until the end, and then he falls in love with Han Zhang properly this time, and also deals with every single person who maligned and schemed against him in his previous life, with Han Zhang by his side.
Read:
Novel (Online) | Novel (Print) - Not Available | Novel Translations | Manhua (You’ll have to download the KuaiKan app, the chapters are currently all free)
Characters:
1. 景韶 Jing Shao - 3rd Prince and is the first out of his three other brothers to be given a title 成王 (cheng wang). He’s referred to as 王爷, and also 小勺 (xiao shao) by Han Zhang. Went out on his first war when he was 14, and was thus given a title before any of his brothers. He’s known for being a merciless, cold and fierce army general/commander, but this was before his second life with Han Zhang, where he puts on like his doting mode and is basically a dumbass XD who listens to Han Zhang with a lot of trust, which is cool and all.
He marries Han Zhang when he’s 19, and in his first life he was very reluctant and resistant, and neglected Han Zhang for 10 years, until he was charged with treason and hunted down.
Tumblr media
In his first life he wanted to snatch the throne, even from his blood-related brother Jing Chen, but more out of spite than anything else because he felt he was dealt an unfair hand by having to marry Han Zhang. Not only that, but Jing Shao is not his father’s favourite son, and he always felt that the emperor was biased against him. Anyway, a huge accumulation of daddy and anger issues, which is fair.
When he realizes that Han Zhang died for him, he decides he will be good to Han Zhang if they are reborn in their next life.
2. 慕含章 Mu Han Zhang - The 2nd son of Marquis Bei Hou’s, born to a concubine. He’s called by his 表字 which is 君清 (jun qing) by Jing Shao. Official First Wife Bei Wei Hou-furen and her son (who is in line to inherit the Marquis title from his father) has bullied him all his life, and wanted to push him into greater desperation by marrying him to Jing Shao, knowing he will suffer at the hands of the supposed merciless/heartless wangye. He has a weak body because of an accident when he was younger, and in his first life he was really sick after being neglected for 10 years, and knowing this in their second life, Jing Shao does everything he can to take care of him.
Tumblr media
He is incredibly smart, has a brain for business and sales, and is also very good at handling people, especially scheming ones. He aids Jing Shao in the beginning of their second life, and then Jing Chen later as well, as both brothers begin to fight to put Jing Chen on the throne, against the 1st and 4th Princes. Is an incredibly good tactician in war as well.
3. 景琛 Jing Chen - 2nd Prince, Jing Shao’s blood related older brother who is handsome af too. His title, given later in the novel, is 睿王 (rui wang). He was misunderstood by Jing Shao in the first life as Jing Shao thought it was his brother who led to him marrying Han Zhang, and because he’s not very good at expressing himself and shows his concern to Jing Shao by nagging at him, Jing Shao always thought he hated him. In their second life, Jing Shao already knows that Jing Chen loves him and did a lot for him in his first life, and so trusts his brother and supports him right off the bat, because Jing Chen is indeed the most suited person for the throne.
Tumblr media
He has a wife and a concubine, 3 sons and 2 daughters at this point. He ends up helping Jing Shao a lot, and when he realizes that Han Zhang is way more adept at politics and the whole scheming thing than Jing Shao is, he begins trusting Han Zhang a lot more as well! There’s a surprise with Jing Chen hahaha which I loveee and could see, but wasn’t sure until they confirmed it in the last few chapters AHAHAHAHA.
Other Notable Characters:
Tumblr media
1. Song Ling Xin (Second Wife) on the left, and two other concubines on the right
They’re pretty much vying for Jing Shao’s attention, but at this point apparently he hasn’t slept with any of them before. Song Ling Xin is the daughter of the Military Department’s Head Song An, and Jing Shao married her initially out of interest. The right most concubine (I forgot her name oops) was a gift given to him by his oldest brother, the 1st Prince. The two of them played a huge role in Jing Shao’s downfall back in his first life, and so in his second life, he especially detests Song Ling Xin. Plus the three of them keep bullying Han Zhang in the beginning, but thankfully Jing Shao is like: “Anything my Jun Qing wants”. They don’t stay around for long either, watch as Jing Shao gets rid of them like he’s swatting flies.
2. Xiao Yuan & Zhou Da-Ge
This is another male couple who’s been married for 7-8 years if I recall. Xiao Yuan is one of Jing Shao’s important allies and friends in the second life, because in Jing Shao’s first life, this was one of the only young officials in court who spoke up for him when the accusations of treason came about. Zhou Da-Ge is his husband, who is a cook running a restaurant in the city. Whenever Zhou Da-Ge bullies Xiao Yuan in bed a little too much, Xiao Yuan punishes him by making him wear colourful clothes out (pink, bright yellow, purple, etc.) and thus he has a reputation for being eccentric and a weirdo, but oh well, all for love.
3. Gu Huai Qing
One of Jing Shao and Jing Chen’s most powerful allies, and he becomes blood-sworn brothers with Jing Shao without realizing who he is. Later he takes a liking to Jing Chen.
(Will update with photos when they come out, but they’re a bit further into the story so we won’t have them for a few months yet ahahaha)
Amazing Scenes:
Tumblr media
Jing Shao & Han Zhang first looks in the manhua
Tumblr media
Jing Shao being THAT clingy husband and helping Han Zhang to wear his clothes properly so cute!!!!!
Tumblr media
Han Zhang and Jing Shao in their first lives (10 years later), about to die, sad and then Jing Shao jumps down the cliff with Han Zhang’s corpse, regretful cuz he a dumb bij
Tumblr media
Jing Shao unable to resist kissing Han Zhang’s cheek, realizes what he’s doing, and gets embarrassed LMAOOOO 没出息!!!!!!! (This is different from the novel, because in the novel Jing Shao just kisses and is done with that, the embarrassment part is drawn in only in the manhua hahaha)
Other Things I Like in the Novel:
Jing Shao is like, he does a 180 entirely and he is very cognisant of all his faults and what he did wrong previously, and how badly he treated Han Zhang, so he legit forces his brain to go “I will listen to Jun Qing from now on” and he really sticks to it!
Loves kissing and teasing Han Zhang, but doesn’t force him into bed after their wedding night, and instead goes to Xiao Yuan and asks for tips on how to make his partner feel less scared about sex
The both of them end up with a pet tiger?!! That’s called Xiao Huang (little yellow) LMAO
They nap together a lot which I love <3333
Jing Shao knows he’s bullied at home, so when they go back to the Marquis Bei Hou manor, he holds Han Zhang’s hand in front of everyone to let them know Han Zhang has someone to back him up
Brings Han Zhang to war because he “cannot concentrate if Jun Qing isn’t with me at all times” - and asks for special permission to do so
Han Zhang notes that since he married Jing Shao, as the ‘wife’ he is supposed to serve Jing Shao, but it’s always Jing Shao serving him - Getting water for him, bringing him to baths, putting clothes on for him, putting food in his plate if it tastes nice, massaging his back and waist etc. - and best is he doesn’t have to deal with any in-laws?!! HAHAHA
Jing Shao gets revenge on those who hurt Han Zhang when he was younger for him, and the outcome is pretty hilarious but well-deserved
EPILOGUES are cute af!!!!

Baby Momma Drama
Tumblr media
***THIS HAS NOT BEEN THROUGH A TYPICAL EDITING PROCESS; ALL SHORTS ARE ROUGH DRAFTS***
“So I can’t take her to see my family?” Dem asked Nicole and she ignored him. He was tired of going back and forth with her about his child. He understood how she felt but she was just trying to control him and the way he parented his daughter.
There wasn’t shit he could do about what happened but apologize and try to be a good father. Nicole was not making that easy for him in the slightest. Then would turn around and use his absence against him when she didn’t get her way. Dem was genuinely remorseful about his actions and she knew that. He always took her feelings into consideration and practiced patience, hoping that she could really forgive him one day. However, anything he wanted to do with Melody she had to be there. Nicole didn’t want her around his family without her either, but they didn’t want Nicole in their presence at all. They only got to see his daughter twice in a whole year.
“Yo, can you fuckin’ hear?”
“Cleary, and just like before I said no. If they want to see her, they can come here, or I’ll gladly go to them.”
“And I told your illiterate ass they don’t fuck witchu. Unless you want A to beat you the fuck up.”
“Please! I’ll drag that bitch if she ever put her fuckin’ hands on me.” Nicole knew Avery couldn’t stand her and the feeling was mutual.
“Bro…” Dem counted to three doing his best not to get mad. This was where he’d been tested the most lately. “So you expect her to just not know her whole other side? She don’t even know her own sisters.”
“Nigga, I don’t care nor is that my problem! My baby is not going anywhere without me. The judge has approved this. I don’t trust you and in the eyes of the law you are not a fit parent. You don’t even have control over any of your own finances! I should actually be arguing with Lake about visitation, not you!” Nicole spat, flippantly. She got all of this information when they went to court. Lake being his guardian only worsened his case and made Nicole’s stronger.
“Really? But when you want dick, I’m trustworthy. When you wanna go out and be a hoe with your dumbass friends, I watch her and muthafuckin KJ too, you can trust me then though?”
Nicole didn’t have a rebuttal to that because not only wasn’t Dem lying but it made her valid points invalid. Dem was a great father and she had him on the tightest leash using the past as a way to control him. She was granted full custody of their daughter and that gave her even more leverage.
“Exactly, now you the fuck quiet with your stupid ass. Come get her ready, I’m taking her.”
“No the fuck you not!” Nicole pushed him back from going further upstairs and he held the banister as to not fall. It didn’t take much after that to set Dem off. He smacked the shit out of Nicole, and she bounced off the wall rolling down the steps.
Stuff like this really felt below Dem. Domestic issues with any woman wasn’t what he had time for or wanted to be involved in. He never reacted on anyone that didn’t do something to him first. It was simple math to Dem, don’t put your hands on him, if you weren’t ready to get knocked the fuck out, or sometimes worse. He handled his problems with finality, but he couldn’t just erase the mother of his child, so this was the bullshit he had to deal with all the time.
All of the commotion could be heard outside. Wreck and Roddy were standing outside smoking. They walked in and shook their heads watching Nicole try to beat Dem up. He wasn’t even really doing anything except flinging her ass around, and she was on the floor screaming all dramatic. This wasn’t the first time they witnessed her do stuff like this but in front of a judge she was miss innocent and perfect. The crazier thing was, nobody ever tried to invalidate her feelings, they just wanted a relationship with Melody, however she wouldn’t allow that unless there was one with her too.
“Chill the fuck out!” Wreck pulled her up from the floor and off of Dem’s leg.
“See! He put his fuckin hands on me, and I’m supposed to let him take my daughter? Get the fuck out my house!”
“Bitch fuck you! You wouldn’t be up in this bitch if it wasn’t for me! Lake was ready to send your ass back to the projects! I don’t have these problems with none of my other baby mommas! You the only one make shit harder than it gotta be!”
“Maybe because you didn’t fuckin’ rape them!”
That word took Dem out of the ring every single time and Nicole knew it. He backed down from her whenever she said it. Dem hated to think of himself like that and it only added to all the other names associated with him. Rapist. It didn’t sit right on his heart and the fact that he couldn’t even remember made it easier to swallow sometimes, but Nicole did not let him forget.
“You a fuckin’ nut, bro,” Roddy said, looking at her with disgust.
Dem said fuck it and walked out of the house. This shit was starting to take a toll on him. He didn’t even get to see Melody and it hurt. He loved seeing her because she didn’t look anything like him, but his father, she had inherited Hassan’s every feature.
While Poppy and Damaris were both on the fairer skin side and looked like him, Melody was the opposite. She actually resembled Loire. Nobody could believe it when they first saw her. Sav always joked that she could pass for Lake’s baby and that set Avery off. She didn’t think that was funny at all. Dem did get a paternity test though and she was indeed his. He could spend hours looking at her beautiful melanin-rich face.
“You ard?” Wreck asked him, getting in the driver’s seat. Roddy hopped in the back and he pulled off.
“I’m tired of her constantly throwing that shit in my face…I don’t even remember.”
“She a fuckin’ nut ass bitch, but I ain’t hear her say that when she was screaming from the dick the other night,” Roddy said.
“You be fuckin’ her?” Wreck asked, as he stopped at a red light and looked over at his brother.
“Sometimes,” Dem shrugged. “When she asks.”
“Nah, turn her ass down next time,” Wreck advised him. “She gon’ keep getting her way cause she think you owe her something. What type of bitch wanna get fucked by a nigga they accusin’ of some shit like that? Fuck that, next time she want some dick, curve her ass. I bet she start actin’ right.”
“Yup, hoes be tryna act like they don’t want sex as much as niggas. They be worse than us. Hold the dick and watch she be like,” Roddy cleared his throat. “I’m sorry for actin’ up Daddy, you can take the baby and this pussy whenever you want.”
“Roddy shut the fuck up,” Wreck laughed. “You on it with us tonight?” he asked Dem.
“Fuck no, you got super nigga back there,” Dem said referring to Roddy who simply shook his head. They had a little beef between them. “I got Damaris this weekend anyway and Haze be getting tired fast now so she can’t handle both of them for too long. I was hoping to get Melody so they can all be together. It’s fucked up they don’t even know their own sister.”
“Lake need to take that bitch back to court and get some custody rights. How the fuck she get to keep a baby away from her damn family?”
“She like Dem that’s why,” Roddy chuckled, lighting up a blunt. “Bitch do not care how her baby got here. She want this nigga and his daughter how she gonna get him.”
“Man, she the last bitch I’ll be with. I’ll marry Mu before I settle for her ass.”
They all started laughing because they knew how much Mumu got on his nerves too. The only reasonable one he had was Haze. She nor Mumu came close to the headache that Nicole was though.
“Talk to Lake, bro,” Wreck advised him. “Tell him you ready to be on your own and handle shit. You can’t keep going through this.”
Dem didn’t respond because he wanted to be independent and not have his brother in charge of his every move, but he wasn’t sure if he was actually ready.                                                             ******* “Call Avery and see what she says,” Haze told Dem while standing at the stove cooking. He told her the watered-down version of what happened with Nicole earlier that day. “You already know if she says no then Lake will too. They don’t do shit without each other, but you need to see your child.”
Haze was well aware of the whole situation between Dem and Nicole. She didn’t really have an opinion because it seemed like a he say she say situation. However, if she thought Dem was capable of doing something so vile, she nor Poppy would be around him but Haze didn’t believe he could, even off his meds like Nicole accused. She found out about Dem’s condition and used it as yet another target on his back. Haze only witnessed Dem in action one time and although he was a bit erratic, he didn’t do anything to hurt her or Poppy. She just called Sav and he dealt with him.
“Cause my brother a whipped ass nigga now.”
“No, that’s marriage, Dem. A husband and wife supposed to have each other back.”
“Whatever, A will kill that bitch if they in the same space and it’s not even about Ky. Nicole disrespectful as fuck.”
“Call her,” Haze insisted. Dem blew his breath and started tapping on his phone.
“Hey baby boo!” Avery answered happy for him as always.
“Wassup?”
“Nothing, feeding your mean ass brother and his mean ass kids.”
“Stop actin’ like you don’t love them.”
“I don’t,” Avery whispered making Haze and Dem crack up. “So what you need? You don’t be calling me for no reason.”
“Nut ass Nicole said I can only get Melody if she’s there.”
“Well her bitch ass isn’t welcome in my house!” Avery snapped like Dem knew she would. “Did you forget what the fuck she said to me? What she said about Melody?! But the judge gives her custody?! I tried Dem, I really did try to be cordial with that bitch, but I don’t play about you and I most certainly don’t play about my husband, you know that.”
“A, I miss my daughter. I want y’all to see her. She gettin’ so big and she don’t even know y’all, her sisters, nothing.”
“What you want me to do, Dem?”
“I want y’all to come over her crib this weekend—”
“Dem, I love you, but I am not stepping foot in that bitch house. She better be lucky her ass ain’t on the street! Why can’t we meet her somewhere? What about coming over there—”
“Fuck no!” Haze yelled cutting Avery off before she could finish. “That bitch ain’t coming up in here, A! She be stressing him out to the point it irritate me, and I don’t have time for her smart-ass mouth because pregnant and all I will lay hands on her lying hoe ass!”
Dem wasn’t even a part of the conversation after that. He sat the phone down while Avery and Haze called Nicole everything but a child of God. Dem went to watch TV with his daughters.
“Mommy…” Poppy said, covering her ears hearing Haze talk loudly all the way in her playroom.
“Yea, it’s okay boo boo.” Dem sat on the big pink bean bag chair with Poppy and Damaris on both sides of him and watched DC Superhero Girls.
The way he handled most things that would set him off now, is to just sit with his daughters. They calmed the hell out of him. No medicine or treatment ever brought him that much peace. Nicole was trying to come between that, and he swore she was doing it on purpose, but Dem refused to backtrack and throw away all of his progress, but something had to give.

How ASL Bros React To Getting Married To You
Tumblr media
A/N : well, I reallyyy want to write a nice long fic but like.. life man. I’m on spring break and have work all week and with my sleep problems 😭 just enjoy this please c:
Summary : what the asl brothers wedding would be like.
-
Luffy
“Woah! You look awesome, [Name]!”
So cheery and wholesome.
Zoro is his best man, ( much to Sanji’s dismay )
EVERYONE is there, every single person he’s ever met is there so it’s crowded and you basically had it outside, in Foosha Village, though he wanted it to be on the ship.
All of the girls Luffy’s met is responsible for your appearance, they all helped you on your big day.
Some of the marines were invited, of course.
Luffy’s best mans/groom mans ( idk) ( other than Zoro ) consists of Sabo, Ace, Sanji, Usopp, Franky, Brook, Law, Shanks and Koby.
Your bridesmaids consist of Nami, Robin ( maid of honor ), Perona, Tashigi, Vivi and Makino. ( shirahoshi and others didn’t have too much room to stand by you because of the guests so they just sat in their respective seats.)
Before it officially started, there was a lot of tension so separation in seats were needed. Big Mom’s crew is sitting on the left back, Marines in the front right, Law’s, Kid’s and Shanks and other pirates are put in the right back, and everyone else Luffy knows is in the front right.
Few are still in shock because of the fact that LUFFY is getting married before them.
A lot of yelling and laughter from everyone is around but as soon as the classic music is playing in the background, everyone shuts up and turns to face the back, where you’re walking with Garp.
Old man Garp is the one taking you, and even he is full of tears from the fact that his own grandson is getting married.
“You take care of my dumb ole’ grandson, you hear? If he ever becomes too much of an annoyance, just knock him a few times in the head.”
And when you finally reach him, everyone is quiet and has the proudest smiles on their faces. Their Luffy is all grown up.
His bright, radiating grin is plastered and he is pretty overwhelmed but right now, you’re distracted by his handsome look in his suit.
Of course, he has shorts instead of long dress pants but he still looked handsome regardless.
Vows are said, rings are given and you smile at Luffy as the minister ( Sengoku ) questions your commitment.
“Do you, [ Name LastName ] take this complete fool, Monkey D. Luffy, as your everlasting husband and, future pirate king?”
Chuckles are heard, and you couldn’t suppress a giggle either. “I do.”
“I see. I wish you luck on this journey. Luffy, you may now kiss the bride.”
Claps are heard around as Luffy grins. “About time!” He cheers and pulls you by your hands, quickly smashing your lips together in a kiss.
“Congrats, Luffy!”
“Not bad, Straw Hat.”
“Where’s the beer? Time to party!”
“Alright, Luffy! Woo!”
Music is quick to break out as everyone is celebrating and cheering.
You and Luffy already cut the cake, ( it took you a lot of force to make Luffy not shove his face in the cake and just CUT IT. )
The giant cake made by Sanji and the Big Mom family, was shared for everyone and there was still plenty left.
And it was just a fun time with everyone. You even threw your bouquet(?) behind you already and it seems the next to be wed was Tama!
Clearly some of the women weren’t too happy to see the little grow becoming married before them but it was a nice laugh.
The night goes on and it’s getting late. Guests are leaving after wishing the two of you well and you two head in for your suite that Nami booked as her present.
“It feels normal. I thought this was some big special thing, why is it such a big deal again?” Luffy questions, forgetting what the girls had told him the several nights before about weddings.
You smile gently and set the last wrapped gift to the side with the others, taking a glance at the shimmering ring on your left hand.
“Because,” you spin around and face your husband, reaching over and taking off his straw hat that he kept on.
“It swears our connection and commitment to each other. Why do you think Shanks married Makino, despite their long distance relationship?”
Luffy offers his gentle smile, seemingly more relaxed at the mention of the two of the most important people in his life, out of many.
“Because they love each other?” He guesses calmly, tilting his head and you nod, giggling at his black hair that swayed.
“And I love you.” You whisper, leaning closer and felt Luffy’s arms enveloping you in a tight hug, his face nuzzling into your neck.
“I love you, [Name].”
And he leans back, connecting his lips on yours.
-
Ace
“Oh..wow..”
Oh boy, did the Whitebeard crew go BIG.
I have a feeling that Ace would want something a little normal or smaller perhaps, just inviting his personal friends and family, and maybe a few people he met along the way of his journey.
He’s a friendly, outgoing person but for a personal occasion, it’s best to stick with the people you’re closest to.
But he wasn’t complaining when he saw the large äss party, feast and the important people in his life showing up.
Sabo, Luffy and his crew, Shanks, Makino, all of his brothers, members of his old crew, Garp, he was thrilled to see everyone!
The wedding was held on Whitebeard’s ship, of course. It wasn’t too fancy or grand but still pretty large and the ship was right in the middle of the sea.
Ace is all dressed up handsomely in his suit, with the help of Marco, Vista and Izo. His hair isn’t too messy and just styled neatly.
You were dressed beautifully in your gown/suit, with the help of the nurses, Nami, Robin and Izo.
There was a bit of trouble with seating but naturally, many people stood up anyways and were quite busy throwing confetti and other things at you, even if it was a wedding.
Whitebeard is taking you down the aisle, it’s a little bit difficult but he still did, and you can bet he’s excited to have a daughter/son that will help watch over Ace’s dumbass self.
“Rough him up real good, take good care of my stupid son. And call me Pops!”
When Ace sees you walking down, he’ll admit, he’s teary. He’s actually found love, someone like him.. and he’s about to be married to you, the most amazing, attractive, and sweetest person he’s met.
You look so amazing in your outfit, he’s in tears. He’s so lucky.. Marco has a hand on his shoulder and patting his back. “Congratulations, Ace. You deserve this.”
Wiping his tears with his finger, he nods and exhales, holding the widest, warmest smile he could muster.
He was going to love you and protect you all of his damn life, that’s for sure.
The minister is actually Vista! Ace’s best man is Marco and his groomsmans all include Thatch, Luffy, Jozu, Izo, and Haruta!
“Do you, [Name Lastname] take this young kid as your loyal, lawful and everlasting husband?”
“Really?” Ace pouts at Vista’s joke and chuckles are heard, even yours.
“I do, Vista. I’ll make sure he grows.” You giggle as Ace sighs in exasperation.
“Very well. I now pronounce you husband and wife, Ace, kiss your damn bride already.”
“My pleasure.” Ace grins and he’s quick in pulling your wrist towards him, and spinning you into a dipping motion before connecting your lips together in a kiss.
Whistles and catcalls are heard as loud cheers and applause are made.
“Go Ace!”
“Alright, Fire Fist!”
“Better not lose her, Ace!”
Ace rolls his eyes at the comments from his brothers and pulls you back up with a smile. He’s a little glad he didn’t fall asleep midway because of his narcolepsy.
Party immediately breaks out, Sanji aids Thatch in the kitchen to bring out everything and it’s a long night of dancing, boozing and more.
Ace is just off with the guys, having fun and celebrating while you are off with the women, talking about experiences and such.
And when Ace finally finds you and pulls you two away to his room for some alone time, he pulls you close.
“Well, Mrs. Fire Fist, what do you want to do first?~”
His arms are around your waist as he secures you towards him, a cheeky smile on display on his face.
“Not sure, what did you have in mind?” Playing coy, you shrug and tilt your head, turning away from his face which he pouts and uses his hand to force his back to him.
Pecking your lips, Ace smiles again and leads you to his bed. “I have an idea, if you’re up to it?” He wiggles his brows, making you laugh.
He jumps onto the bed, pulling you with him so you were on top. “Well?”
“Oh! Cuddles, I get it! Sure, I’m tired anyways.”
Ace groans at you, heaving a sigh and he whines. “Come on, [Naaamee]!”
You just giggle and sit up, repositioning yourself on his lap and straddled him. “Fine, fine. You’re lucky it’s our special day today.” You hum.
“Oh? So you don’t want to do this after today is over?” Ace muses, smirking a bit since he knew the answer.
You puff your cheeks out at the thought of not having sex with Ace anymore, but you weren’t going to back down. “..Nope!”
Knowing the truth, Ace chuckles and begins to grind upwards into you.
“Alright, I guess I better make this a special memory to remember.”
-
Sabo
“You look incredible, [Name]..”
The most average, normal one. It’s traditional, smaller than most would be, and it’s for personal guests only.
So close members of the revolutionary army, his brothers, Garp and Makino were the only ones invited. If Luffy wanted, he could bring his crew but that’s it!
It’s traditional, so it was held inside a chapel, of course. It wasn’t anything special, everything was set up already and prepared for a small group so it was great.
Sabo is in a dashing, handsome suit like Ace was, but somehow has a much more charming, princely appearance. He helped himself in the appearance, with smallest help of Inazuma.
Your dress too! Somehow it’s more Royal appearing and your veil resembles a crown in a way. Koala and Iva helped you out in this!
Sabo’s best man is actually Ace! The strongest brotherly bond overpowered the thought of having Kuma, Iva or Luffy as a best man, but fortunately, they didn’t seem to mind, since they were groomsmans anyways. Iva being both bridesmaid and groomsman.
Ace was pretty teary and honored, and felt so excited.
The one who takes you down the aisle is Dragon. He’s a little awkward about it at first but he is quite proud of Sabo, even if he doesn’t openly show it.
“Take good care of him, alright?”
“I will.” You assure, thanking him when you finally reach the point of Sabo’s side.
The whole time, Sabo is staring at you in awe, feeling speechless. How did he manage to get someone as beautiful and wholehearted as you?
He can’t contain his wide grin and excitement, his hands just a hint clammy from the nervousness of possible rejection. But he knew you loved him. Because he loves you.
“Someone looks handsome.” You whisper in a giggle and Sabo chuckles. “Not compared to the beauty you have right now.” He winks.
The minister is actually Kuma, of course. Kuma was the obvious choice. Kuma took the position with gratitude.
“[Name Lastname]. Do you take Chief of Staff Sabo, as your lawful, loyal and everlasting husband?”
“I do.”
“Congratulations. I now pronounce you husband and wife, Sabo, please do the honor of kissing your bride.”
Sabo is the most natural approach, taking a step forward and cupping your cheeks in his hands and pulling you forward, for a kiss.
Cheers and applause are made and heard, and Luffy, being the brother he is, pulls out a loud confetti popper and pulls it, it shooting it out everywhere like fireworks.
“Congratulations, you two!”
“Alright, time to get drinking!”
“Better not let this get in the way of your missions..”
“Luffy, how’d you even get that?!” Sabo widens his eyes and he laughs. “Franky made it for me! He said it’ll be super, for the wedding!”
“Geez..”
You can’t help the laugh that escapes your lips and Sabo finds himself laughing alongside you and the whole place is soon filled with laughter and cheer.
It’s a small family party but it was still pretty chaotic regardless, and Sabo makes sure to take you outside for some fresh air when it becomes nighttime.
“Hey, feeling okay?”
Taking a seat on the bench nearly, Sabo sits beside you and you nod, immediately leaning into his shoulder.
“It’s overwhelming, I guess..” the warm smile that spreads your lips is contagious as he does the same when he sees it. “But,”
You take a look at your ring finger, that held the beautiful silver ring and diamond. “I couldn’t be happier with today. I’m married to the love of my life.”
Sabo smiles gently and closed his eyes, leaning against the backrest and let the moonlight light against his face.
“I am, as well. I couldn’t be any luckier to be married to you now..” taking your hand in his, he intertwines your fingers and brings your hand up to kiss.
He kisses your ring finger specifically and hums.
“Thank you.. for being with me.. I love you, [Name].”
“Of course. Thank you for being with me. I love you, Sabo.”

Yeah, Should Have Seen That Coming: Saileen Bachelor Party Ficlet
Congrats to the soon to be Mrs. and Mr. Leahy💚💍!!!
Sam had the brilliant idea to have their bachelorette/bachelor parties on the same night. Two separate parties, at least a week before the wedding to avoid any last minute mishaps (learning from the mistakes of Dean and Cas' party last month). They had thought of everything, Sam even remembered to invite Adam this time. They were each going to have a perfect party with no unforseen issues, because they both deserved a night of fun.
Dean was granted the privilege of being Eileen's best man maid of honor, so he shut down his bar that night, and threw her an absolute rager. He even dragged the stripper pole back out at Eileen's request (though Dean thinks it was a shame Cas wasn't going to be there to use it) and set up a mechanical bull. So of course Cas was chosen to be Sam's best man, and for his party, Sam just wanted a normal, quiet night. Just board games, beer and burgers at the bunker (Crowley was pissed he got stuck at Sam's instead of Eileen's, but Garth was thrilled about the prospect of playing Monopoly). So that's exactly what Cas planned to give him. He makes sure he's got Sam's favorite beer, burgers from the place that makes his favorite vegan burgers, he's taken care of everything. And all Sam has to do is grab the board games from one of the storage rooms.
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, considering Sam and Cas are involved?
Everything.
(read the rest under the cut)
They ended up on a hunt before the party even began. Sam had accidentally bumped into a shelf in the storage room, knocking over a cursed object, and then picked it up without thinking("Sam why did y- "It just looked like a piece of wood!" "It's not, its cursed it's called t-" "Well that doesn't help me now, Cas!"). And so it turned out, they unleashed an ancient curse that if they didn't break by midnight, the world would be "shroud in 5 billion years of darkness". But Sam won't let anyone call Eileen or Dean ("I just don't want to ruin her party!" "Sam the world could en-" "Yeah, but that happens all the time. How often do you get to have a bachelorette party?")
So it was up to Sam, Cas, Jack, Crowley, Garth, and Adam (Kevin was already halfway up the steps and on his way to Dean's bar before Sam even finished explaining what happened).
And a lot can go wrong over a few hours, especially if the threat of the end of world is looming over you.
In the past three hours, they managed to successfully tear apart the entire archives looking for lore, had Jack fly them to three different states to wake up three experts on the subject, fought and killed one of Crowley's old nemesis who had an ingredient they needed for a spell, were briefly transported to a different dimension, twice (Jack was able to get them home, but they had to go back because Garth forgot his phone). Then of course they summoned the wrong ancient god, then had to figure out how to kill them, before they eventually summoned the right one needed to break the curse.
At that point, after some encouragement (yelling) from everyone, Sam finally gave in and tried to facetime and text Eileen, finally allowing Cas to call Dean too.
But neither of them answered because Eileen was currently in the middle of an intense drinking contest between Rowena, Mary and Kevin (who arrived 2 hours ago and mentioned nothing about the curse), while Dean (totally sober mind you) learned he was amazing on the stripper pole, as Charlie, Kaia and Claire cheered him on, and Jo along with some of Eileen's hunter friends were trying out the mechanical bull.
So they were on their own, and quickly running out of time.
But unfortunately for them, the three hours of chaos was a complete waste, since they discovered a bit too late that lore was wrong. Because the weapon that was supposed to kill the God was clearly not working since it seemed to be chasing them around just fine, with a giant stake in it's neck. So they hurriedly decided splitting up would be the best course of action, and they scattered in all directions as they ran into the woods(where they had landed when Jack zapped them back) trying to confuse the God.
Which had been a complete mistake ("It can clone itself!" "Yes, thank you Sam, I hadn't noticed").
And currently, Crowley and Garth were both knocked out by some of the God's clones, and Jack was nowhere to be seen, leaving just Sam and Cas to fight with what they had (2 guns, an angel blade, and half a flask of holy water, so nothing)
Now there was only five minutes until midnight and the God had them surrounded, as it threw their useless guns and blades halfway across the forrest.
And only one thought rang through Sam's mind.
"Eileen is gonna kill me if the world ends before the wedding"
"Well if you hadn't touched th-"Cas started
"Thanks Cas, you really know how to make a guy feel better" Sam yelled back, swiflty cutting him off.
He glanced back up to see the God (who's name Sam had already forgotten) inching closer, holding them in place as they were readying themselves to smite them.
Sam took one last look at Cas and the reality of the situation finally set in. This was it.
All Sam wanted was one normal night, but now the world's ending again and he doesn't even know the name of the God ending it.
They were screwed. Now he'll never see Eileen again and they'll nev-
Suddenly a wooden stake was shoved through the back of the God's neck with a crunch, sending them crumbling to the ground. It burst into black flames, disappearing.
And standing above them in a, 6 inch heels, covered in glow stick bracelets, and a bride sash, was a very tipsy Eileen.
She and Dean helped pull them to their feet, and Sam could cry at the sight of her (and he did).
As soon as he was standing, Sam frantically began rambling and signing trying to explain and apologize all in one breath. But Eileen simply took hold of his hands, stopping him in his tracks.
"You were supposed to use sheep's blood, idiot" Eileen signed with a smirk.
Then she grabbed by the shoulders, yanking him down into a deep kiss.
"Wait how did-where did yo-"Sam started as he broke away. He quickly takes in his surroundings spotting Claire and Kaia helping Garth to his feet, Rowena trying to wake Crowley, and Charlie and Jo who are probably trying to convince Adam not to leave. He finds Dean, Cas and Jack off to the side huddled close together, while Dean probably tells his husband how much of a dumbass he is.
"Jack flew to the bar, and we read through your's and Cas' texts. We were able to piece it together from there, and apparently you guys can't read. Maybe leave the hunting to the pros?" Eileen teased, swaying slightly (okay maybe she was a little more than tipsy). Sam tightly wrapped his arms around her, keeping her steady, as a smile grew on his face.
"I don't deserve you" Sam sighs, cupping her cheek.
"Yeah, you don't" Eileen shrugged with a smirk growing on her lips.
"She's right, you really don't" Dean's voice cuts through as he, Cas and Jack make their way over. Cas punches him in the arm with a fond smile.
"Well, that certainly didn't go as I had planned" Cas huffed.
"Yeah, understatement of the year buddy. But when does it ever?" Sam laughs, feeling a bit of relief.
Then Sam has another brilliant idea, smiling as he turns back to Eileen.
"So my party....was ruined by an ancient God. Mind if we crash your's?"
And an hour later, Cas (much to Dean's delight) is now spinning around on the pole while Dean, Charlie and Jo cheers him on. Crowley, Rowena, Garth and Jack (with a shirley temple of course) are seated at the bar, talking about god knows what. Claire, Kaia, Kevin and surprisingly Adam have just returned from the parking lot, giggling a bit too much. And Sam is now seven shots in, messily making out with Eileen in one of the booths. Eventually they pull away, just sitting in a drunken daze as they stare at each other.
God he can't believe she's gonna marry him. He really is the luckiest man in the world.
And before Sam can relay this sentiment, Eileen downs her glass, signs "watch this", and runs to take a turn on the stripper pole to the thrumming bass.
With a laugh he surveys the bar, watching his family drink and laugh without a care in the world. He spots Eileen and Dean by the pole in the center of the room, heads thrown back in laughter, as Cas and Jack cheers them on. So Sam quickly slides out of the booth and makes his way over, plopping down inbetween Jack and Cas, watching his fiancé and brother dance to the beat like idiots. Heart swelling at the sight of his family.
And yeah maybe this isn't the night they had planned, but it was certainly a night they'd never forget.
(Especially since Cas had shirts made that said, "I survived Sam Winchester's bachelor party")

3. “The best thing about having two partners is being able to try out three different dishes at a restaurant.” “You really think that’s the best part?” for Jin Zixuan's Jiang harem (jzx/jc/jyl)
Birthdays, up until recently, had always struck Jin Zixuan as being very boring. He knew he couldn’t exactly complain about it, because he got presents (expensive ones), and parties (very large) on a scale such as few people could ever see in their lives. His father would spend a little fortune on a feast to which every relative was invited (a crowd), many business partners (boring old men), and any rich enough kid from Jin Zixuan’s school (concerning, once he reached middle school and his father started eyeing the oldest girls, because thirteen was apparently old enough to have your breasts commented on). So many people, so much money, and all to celebrate the fact that Jin Zixuan was alive.
He should have been grateful. He’d tried to be, when he was younger.
Then, on the year Jin Zixuan had turned twelve, a series of unrelated issues had forced him to realise that his birthdays weren’t about him at all.
First, his request to invite at least one friend of his own choosing had been denied. Nie Huaisang might be in the same class as him, and his family wasn’t exactly poor, but they weren’t quite rich enough for Jin Guangshan’s standards. Nie Huaisang’s grandfather had been a mere butcher, his father only owned a few slaughterhouses and three meat processing plants, and Nie Huaisang himself didn’t even have the good taste of at least being a pretty girl. It would have been unacceptable to invite him, he just wouldn’t have fit in with the other guests, Jin Zixuan’s parents had said.
Then, there had been Jin Zixuan’s present, or lack thereof. He’d gotten money from his parents, sure, and more than enough to buy anything he wanted. But getting money felt different from getting a gift, and he’d made it quite clear in the past few weeks that he’d become very interested in a certain tv show. The full dvd-box for that show released a week before his birthday, which he’d told his mother many times, and his father once, when he saw him in passing. And still, he’d been given money, as well as a reminder that he was discouraged from actually spending any of it since he was too young and stupid to make good investments.
The last straw, though, had been the announcement of his engagement to a certain Jiang Yanli. Since the Jiangs lived overseas, Jin Zixuan had only actually met her one some years before, and he certainly hadn’t been consulted on the question of getting married to this complete stranger. Jiang Yanli wasn’t even at the birthday party, because she’d gotten ill and had been unable to accompany her family.
After that, Jin Zixuan had made two very important decisions.
The first was to never marry Jiang Yanli.
The second was to never, ever give a damn about birthdays again.
That first promise he’d held, but only barely. While Jin Zixuan had obtained the end of that engagement when he’d been a teenager, now that he’d moved overseas, he was actually dating Jiang Yanli.
He was also married to her brother, though, so it was unlikely he’d marry her any time soon.
As for enjoying birthdays…
They’d spent the day at an amusement park, all three of them, and it had been fun. Jin Zixuan had gone on too many roller-coasters with Jiang Cheng, and sat with Jiang Yanli on as many softer rides as they’d been able to. They’d all three laughed a lot about the face one candy floss seller had made after realising he’d seen Jin Zixuan separately buy things for two different dates in the span of half an hour. Jiang Yanli had wanted to go a third time and see how the poor man would react if they let it drop that Jin Zixuan was dating a pair of siblings, but Jiang Cheng had objected they had a table at a nice restaurant that night and couldn’t spoil their appetite with junk. The other two had teased him a bit about being embarrassed, but eventually accepted his argument.
The restaurant was nice, when they got there. It wasn’t the most expensive place in town, nor the most exclusive. The interior decorating wasn’t anything special, the dishes weren’t innovative. But it was a very nice restaurant where they often went, because it served a number of Jin Zixuan’s favourites. His parents would never have come to such a place for a celebration because it wasn’t expensive enough.
Which was just as well, because they weren’t invited to take part in any celebrations of Jin Zixuan anyway. They hadn’t taken well his marriage to the wrong Jiang sibling, and apparently his mother was very upset that he was making a dishonest woman out of poor Jiang Yanli, just because her mother was no longer there to protect her.
But that wasn’t the point.
The point was that Jin Zixuan was having a great birthday, and his only problem at the moment was deciding which dishes to pick for himself when he wanted everything. He’d eventually settled on something, only for his husband and his girlfriend to smile as they ordered the other dishes he’d most hesitated about.
Jin Zixuan loved them so much. It was a small thing to do, but he adored those two, and wished he could let them know in some profound and meaningful way just how amazing they were.
Instead, when he opened his mouth, it was to say this:
“The best thing about having two partners is being able to try out three different dishes at a restaurant.”
Jiang Yanli hid a soft giggle behind her hand, while Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes. Once, Jin Zixuan might have misunderstood that as them mocking him or thinking him stupid, but it was only their way of expression fondness, just as his was to say the stupidest things.
“You really think that’s the best part?” Jiang Cheng teased.
“I also get double the cuddles when I have a rough day,” Jin Zixuan said after some consideration. “And neither of you ever finish your desserts, so that’s another advantage.”
“Dumbass,” Jiang Cheng replied, taking his hand.
Jiang Yanli laughed again, a little less careful to hide it this time, and took Jin Zixuan’s other hand, squeezing it tenderly.
Birthdays were really much better than they used to be, now that he was allowed to choose who he’d spend them with.

Hello! I see that requests are open. So can I request a scenario with Ace bringing his s/o with him to his home on summer break. But he totally forgot to tell his family about her(fem reader or gender neutral if you want). So imagine the shock in their faces. The rest is up to you. Love your writing btw 💖
Note: I apologize it took so long. I'm bad at describing Ace's character and I know so little about his family. So I gave all of his family members appearance from my imagination. Hope It's okay!
Note№2: Sorry if it's bad, I tried my best. And thank yous for the compliment!
Ace x fem!reader
"Are you sure, you didn't forget anything?" Looking at Ace suspiciously, you hand him one of your bags. "I did not forget anything! How many times do I need to tell you this?" You look at him with one eyebrow raised. "Why are you looking at me like that?!" You sigh, turning away from him to shake your head.
Currently you and your boyfriend were waiting for your turn to face the mirror teleporter. It's been a long time since you were out of school. Last time was probably on one of your dates. Sighing to yourself, you can't help but feel worry. There's something you both forgot to do you most likely forgot to tell Ace what he forgot to do.
"Hey, I know you're worried about meeting my family but it's going to be fine, they'll love you." Ace say's with a small nudge on your shoulder. He continues with a wide grin "You'll bond and become really close to them. They'll probably even try to invite you to most family dinners. There's nothing to be worried about! We'll be fine!" Chuckling to yourself, you look at him with a small smile on your face "Whenever you say that, there is something to worry about." Ace looks at you, like you have just offended his whole family tree "HEY!"
Laughing at one another like that, you don't notice how time seems to pass by. It was your turn already to teleport when you were ready to hit Ace with one of your bags he dared to say that you don't actually help with overbolts. You reach out your hand to Ace. Grinning like an idiot, he takes your hand in his. Into the unknown you go, as they say it.
Time skip brought to you by me not knowing enough about Ace's family-
And here you were standing in front of a door. It's an absolutely regular door of a regular house but to you it looked like gates of hell themselves. Nervously smiling you look at Ace. "Are you sure they're going to like me?" He gave out an annoyed whine. "Yes, they will like! Now for the Great Seven, can we please come inside already? Or are you still scared?" Last part of his speech followed by a smug grin. Pouting, you turn away from him and ring the doorbell.
A few seconds of silence were followed by a some shouting on the inside and a few loud bangs. Gulping, you look at Ace, who looked at you back. Right at that moment, the door swings open. "Who the fu-! Oh...eh...hello." Standing before you was Ace's brother? There's no other explanation to their similarity. The only difference is a hair style and lack of a heart under his eye. "Who's there?!" Females voice rang trough the hall. "It's Ace and his... Friend!" The taller version of your boyfriend replied. This was getting awkward really fast.
"Actually that's my girlfriend!" Ace announces proudly, pulling your l by your waist closer to him. The face of his brother was priceless. Eyes wide, mouth agape, he was looking at you and back at him. Then he let out a whizz. "Yeah and I'm the Queen of hearts! Okay that's a good joke but oh my-" he starts to laugh uncomfortably. "Quit it dumbass, I'm dead serious! She is my girlfriend. I told you about her!" Tightening his grip on you, Ace continues arguing with his brother, which causes older Trappola to hold on too a doorframe and laugh even harder.
"Oi! What are you all barking about here?" Before you appeared a woman, probably Ace's mother, Mrs Trappola. She looks like she could take out a wild bear in a fight. A bit plumped, with short curly brown hair, chocolate like eyes, wooden spoon in her hand, she stands in front of you with her hands crossed over her chest. "Can you believe it? Our baby boy Ace trys to tell me this girl is his girlfriend!" While oldest of Trappola brothers continues to laugh his brains out, woman turns her head your direction and gazes at you with a look that could surely incinerate you, if she wanted. "Is that truth young lady?" She asks with a raised eyebrow. You nod with your head aggressively, holding onto Ace's arm. This woman is so intimidating and you just met her!
Bright smile appears on her face. "Welcome to the Trappola family my dear!" And your enveloped in a warm hug. Blinking a few times you hug Mrs Trappola back. Ace's brother immediately stoped laughing. "Wait, you weren't joking?! Holy Seven- Dad!!!" A loud thud is heard from the inside of a house. Next thing you know, there's a man standing before you in a fighting pose, like there's some kind of a danger. Looking around confused, Mr Trappola straights up, fixing his clothes a bit, he pretends like nothing happened. "What's all this yelling about?" Mr. Trappola is a tall, linky man, with a short bright red hair, crimson eyes and a big mustache. He looks like he haven't slept in a while.
"Our son brought a girl home!" Finally letting go of you, Mrs Trappola turns to her husband with a bright smile and sparkles in her eyes. Immediately father of the family throws his hands up in air and yells a loud 'YOOHOO'. They high five each other. Ace's older brother starts laughing again. "Everyone stop!!!" Your boyfriend, as red as Riddle's hair, trys to stop this mockery by pushing his parents apart. "Why? Our son finally has a significant other that he thinks is worthy to be shown to us!" Before Ace could object that statement, he was sucked into a big family hug.
"Don't just stand there! You're in for a hug too!" Mrs Trappola says, while her husband stretches his arm out, welcoming you in. And you're in for another hug, sandwiched between Trappola brothers. After what gelt like eternity, you were finally free. "Oh! Now, why are you standing outside like some homeless cats? Let's go inside!" With that, you and Ace's brother follow Mrs Trappola inside, while her husband and and your boyfriend are getting your bags.
Time skip brought you by my lack of knowledge about Ace's character-
"…And that's Ace on his first day of school! Isn't he adorable?" Mrs Trappola is showing yet another picture of little Ace. Little boy was standing with a giant backpack on his back and banquet of flowers in his hands, tired but still bright smile shinning on his face. "He is! I can't believe he was so cute, whom am I kidding he still is!" You and your boyfriend's mother are getting along very well. Sitting on their couch, you look at Trappola's family album. "MUM!!! Stop!" Ace is hopeless trys to steel album from his mother. "Young man, as your mother, it is my duty to show whole you, past and present, to your significant other and embarrass the living hell out of you. So, no." Pushing Ace away, with her free hand, she continues. "And this is him with his new classmates!"
Trappola family are such a nice people. They took you in, like you were and old friend of theirs. Even though they were mocking each other, you could see with how much love they did it. Ace's older brother, telling you about Ace's 1 girlfriend and how he cried when she broke up with him. Mrs Trappola telling you some really embarrassing stories about both brothers. Mr Trappola sharing some inside family jokes. You had dinner with them. Ace's mother's cooking skills are beyond limits. Fried chicken tastes so good, especially with the 'family-secret' sauce and salad. And don't get me started on the pies she made, my lord-
At the end, you and Ace got to his old room to sleep. Particularly facepalming onto his bed, your boyfriend let's out a loud groan. "Tired?" You sit near him on his bed. Nodding , Ace turns on his back to look at you. "You know, I finally realized what you forgot to do." Quirking and eyebrow he sits up a bit. "And what is it, that great me forgot to do?" A small smug smile appears on his face.
"You forgot to tell your family, you have a girlfriend."

You wrote your opinions on the Order of the Phoenix, what about the Death Eaters? That's another way of saying Lucius, Bellatrix, and anybody else. I honestly feel that we're running out of HP characters for you to write your opinion and reasoning about, so yeah~
We honestly are. When people start asking me questions about Harry’s nameless and faceless classmates I feel like we’re scraping the bottom of my barrel of Harry Potter opinions.
Though, that said, this is still a very large ask if you want me to analyze very Death Eater ever or even the Death Eaters as a whole (which is worthy of its own post).
So, we’ll compromise, and I’ll just look at the two you name dropped.
Lucius Malfoy
To me, Lucius is by far one of the more intelligent Death Eaters. He’s the guy who makes them almost look classy. I say almost, because Lucius is still a racist domestic terrorist and as the series goes on Tom gleefully drags him into being less classy by the minute (his house becomes a POW camp and housing for the dregs of society, Lucius just sobs, trying to be thankful he’s somehow still alive).
Lucius is rich, sophisticated, and is probably the most politically powerful man in the country. He has a beautiful wife he has... a son (sorry Draco, but you do not live up to your father) the guy has it all.
Which makes it very surprising that he got dragged into this mess. But you see, Lucius is paying for that tragedy we call youth.
Also, as a caveat, I’m about to headcanon hard and will not bother to get into the details of why I think x, y, or z in this post.
Ten years prior to the start of canon, Lucius is a very young man, probably very charismatic, certainly believes he’s intelligent and probably gets decent grades, but nonetheless the kind of stupid you see in men ages 15-25.
He’s likely chafing under his aging father’s strict guidance, knows he’s not going to be Lord Malfoy for years yet, wants to get out there, prove himself, and make a difference for his country. More importantly for Lucius, there’s this hip, exciting, new thing that all his cousins and friends are getting into called “The Death Eaters” (yes, I don’t believe the Knights of Walpurgis/Death Eaters 1.0 ever happened, I think it’s ridiculous that fandom and JKR does, I could go into why but not in this post).
The Death Eaters are led by the single handedly most beautiful, charismatic, man in Britain. (Yes, I headcanon Tom’s still blindingly attractive at this stage, because it makes much more sense to me but we’re not getting into that here.) A mysterious man by the name of Voldemort, Salazar Slytherin’s long lost heir, who has come to resurrect the wizarding world’s true heritage and purge the land of the muggle stain. (Yes, I do believe that no one, not even Lucius who is later given the diary, knew who Tom really was. I believe Regulus’ had only the vaguest idea, informed mostly by Tom’s use of Kreacher to place the locket.) This is the most exciting thing to have ever happened, the rallies probably consist of rich kids drunk out of their minds and maybe even high on a little wizard cocaine, and Lucius is down for it precisely because his father says “Lucius, this is stupid, please don’t embarrass the family.” WELL LUCIUS IS GOING TO EMBARRASS THE FAMILY, DAD! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?!
And for a while, it looks like Lucius made the right choice. Things are happening, they’re actually going out and killing the mudbloods! Unlike Regulus, Lucius never has that “wait a minute” moment as he realizes that Voldemort’s actually far more efficiently eliminating pureblood families and sowing dissention in what was once a unanimous force among the Wizengamot (the other pureblood lords aren’t necessarily pro muggleborn, per se, but they get a bit queasy at the thought of blowing them up or Merlin forbid actually blowing up their own public venues wizards use).
And then October 31st, 1981 happens, and it all comes crashing down. Lucius has to desperately lie his ass off, having only the flimsiest lie to rely on, has to hand out a shit ton of bribes, and manages to squeeze his way out of being imprisoned in Azkaban.
I’m sure Abraxas looked at his son, with his tattoo on his arm that makes him another man’s slave, at the utter destruction of the Black family, and just shook his head going, “Clean up your mess, Dumbass Son”
And Lucius does to the best of his ability. While some will always suspect him of being a Death Eater, while some know it, he’s able to climb very high in influence in their ridiculously tiny community. Granted, I do think he messed up, and could never for example run for minister given everything (if Crouch can’t rerun then Lucius certainly can’t). He also shows us that in some ways he is not above the law, he’s very afraid his house will be searched without warrant in The Chamber of Secrets, and this is in part why he dumps Tom Riddle’s diary off onto Ginny.
However, he wields total control of the Prophet, has a seat on the Wizengamot, has the ear of the current Minister, is on the Hogwarts’ Board of Governors, and has his hands in pretty much every pie he can.
I imagine during this period Lucius grows up. He brushes the indiscretions of his youth under the carpet, gleefully leaving it all behind him, and the only real friend he maintains contact with from that period is Severus, the least zealot like of all of them. (Crabbe and Goyle Sr aren’t friends, they’re minions).
Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a racist slime bag, and I don’t think he really regrets the domestic terrorism. He just regrets nearly getting caught and putting his entire family’s security on the line. He witnessed first hand what happened to the Blacks.
And then the worst thing happens: Tom Riddle rises from the dead. He rises, impossibly, from the dead when Lucius has his own hand caught in the cookie jar.
Lucius has been living a life of luxury and influence while his great master, the man he had pledged everything to, was dead. Worse, Lucius took what was described as a treasured item to be protected at all costs, and not only threw it away but sent it to Hogwarts where it caused massive havoc and was ultimately destroyed.
And Lucius, I imagine, no longer wants to serve a master.
But he has no choice. And so begins Lucius’ descent into misery and hell as he’s given an increasing set of impossible, horrific, tasks in punishment that involve him watching as his wife and son are put through hell.
I believe Tom holds a special place in his cold, black, passive aggressive heart for Lucius Malfoy.
First, Tom makes Lucius’ house his headquarters. Oh, Lucius, you have a very nice, very large, estate? Why don’t you host your beloved, mad, cousin, her equally mad husband and brother-in-law? Oh, Bellatrix threatened to cut off your ear? Well, she’s just so passionate!
Second, Lucius is told to go get the prophecy. Well, this is easier said than done. He nearly succeeds but then it all turns into the world’s largest clusterfuck that ends in two notable things. First, the prophecy is lost forever, shattered. Second, the government admits that Voldemort is truly resurrected. Both of these things are very bad in Tom’s book. And the blame can easily be put on Lucius’ head.
In response to this, Draco is now given an impossible task that Draco is too stupid to realize is designed to cause him (and his family) as much misery as possible. Draco is to assassinate Dumbledore.
Likely, Tom was already informed by Snape that Dumbledore was dying. The blackened hand was too obvious a tell coming from too obvious a source for the pair to have hid it. I think trying to hide such information would have immediately blown Snape’s cover. So, Tom knows the man is dying, and doesn’t see fit to tell Draco this.
Instead, he tells Draco, “Kill Dumbledore as soon as possible or I deliver you to Fenrir Grayback.” Draco, however, is young and stupid, so he honestly thinks he is doing this to restore the family honor, earn glory for himself and for the cause, and is expected to do this entirely by himself. As a result, when Narcissa begs Snape to aid Draco, Draco blows them both off and only accepts help from Bellatrix because HE CAN DO THIS ON HIS OWN! DRACO IS A MAN.
This, of course, doesn’t work out either. Draco doesn’t deliver the killing blow, Snape does, but Tom decides to give him a pass.
Instead he moves on to his next plan which is making the Malfoy manor his torture chamber and POW camp. Even Draco, at this point, realizes this all kind of sucks.
And then Voldemort finally dies a second time, and I’m sure Lucius just stares numbly at his malformed corpse, wondering if it will really take this time.
So that’s Lucius for you, paying always for his mistakes, and pretending he’s just as much of a nutcase as Bellatrix to fit in.
Bellatrix LeStrange
God, compared to the novel that is Lucius’ ridiculous life, I really don’t have much to say about her because I feel like there’s not much too her.
Bellatrix reminds me a lot of the Manson family, she gives off those same vibes. Point being, I think even before Azkaban (while Azkaban certainly didn’t help), she was insane and a little too worshipful of Voldemort.
I guess I can start there, I don’t think Bellamort is a thing, at all.
Tom may have, probably did, have sex with her before he died but afterwards? In that body? Forget about it.
That said, I’m sure Bellatrix both wanted to have sex and is convinced she did have sex to produce whatever the hell Delphi even is. It just wasn’t with Tom, and probably was Rodolphous with a Halloween mask on his face as they got a little too into role play.
And there we go, I suppose, I can’t take Bellatrix seriously. You often see her portrayed as sexy femme fatale Death Eater, the most competent of all of them, if a bit of a sadist.
Oh she might be a very good duelist but she’s... Bellatrix.
She prances around in corsets, shrieking madly, and just what part of that is supposed to be femme fatale? I literally cannot take her seriously on any level. When I even try to write her seriously, in very serious stories, I end up with lines like the following:
"My lord, if there's anything you need… Anything from me, specifically, as a woman…"
- Bright Eyes
That was my best attempt. That was the best I could come up with. It’s still something that belongs in a comedy.
So, I don’t think Tom really corrupted her. I think without Voldemort she still probably would have been blowing up Diagon Alley, just in a much less organized manner.
Even in canon she does ridiculous things. For example, Bellatrix, frankly, could have easily avoided prison.
For weeks after the dark lord fell neither she, her husband, Barty, nor her brother-in-law were arrested. Bellatrix in grief and utter disbelief that the dark lord could ever do something so mortal as die, said “remember that other house our lord mentioned, THEY MIGHT HAVE INFORMATION, LET’S GO MURDER THE LONGBOTTOMS!” They torture and kidnap Frank, demanding he tell them where their master is, THEY KNOW HE KNOWS. He doesn’t know. They go too far and torture the man into being a vegetable. “Shit, GET THE WIFE!” They go get the wife, do the same thing, with the same results.
They now have no information on the dark lord, two well regarded aurors tortured into brain damage, and are quickly caught and brought before the court with absolutely no “I was imperiused” excuse they can give out.
How am I supposed to take her in any way seriously?
I mean, to end your life killed in a duel with Molly Weasley. That just says it all.

The Things You Give Pt 14
Steven Hyde x Read
Happy Holidays and New Years everyone! I can’t believe we’re already 14 parts in. I’m so glad you guys are loving the story! Tag list is open if you want to be a part of it :)
Tumblr media
Beep, beep, beep.
The sound of the heart monitor was the only noise resourcing from the room. Hyde sat beside y/n, watching as her chest gently rose and fell, and listened to Red interrogate Eric from the hallway.
“What do you mean you don’t know what happened?!” Red asked him in his usual gruff tone.
“I don’t, Dad!” Eric defended. “All I saw is that she was sick and she was trying to get Fez and Hyde to stop fighting and she just dropped!”
“And you didn’t catch her?” Red fumed. “She could’ve gotten hurt!”
“Well, I didn’t expect her to fall!” he responded.
“Red, honey, your yelling isn’t making anything easier,” Kitty said quietly.
           “For me it is!”
           “Red,” she said more sternly.
“Well, have they figured out what’s wrong with her?” the worried father asked impatiently.
“No, they haven’t,” Kitty answered calmly.
“What’s taking them so long?” he grumbled. “We’ve been here for hours!”
Kitty blinked at her husband. “We’ve been here for twenty-five minutes.”
“And our daughter has been unconscious for forty! My little girl is in there now and I want answers, dammit!”
“Red, she’s fine,” Kitty said, trying to soothe him. “She’s tucked in a bed right now with monitoring and her breathing is normal. They drew her blood and we’re just waiting on the test results.”
“They need to come faster!” he shouted, causing Kitty to frantically look around and smile nervously as her coworkers stared at them.
“Hey, Mom, if Dad has another heart attack, at least it’ll save us another ambulance bill since we’re already at a hospital,” Eric said grinning, sarcasm bleeding into his tone.
           “Can it, dumbass!” Red snarled.
Inside the room, y/n groaned, hearing the arguing from outside and slowly opened her eyes, seeing nothing but white. Her head felt someone was taking a jack hammer to her skull. Steven noticed and waited anxiously by her side.
“Why do they have to be so loud?” she mumbled.
Steven sighed in relief and grabbed her hand. “Are you okay? How’re you feeling?”
“I think so,” she croaked. “I feel like crap and I’m tired.”
Hyde chuckled softly and leaned over, kissing her head softly. “You scared the crap out of me.”
“What happened? Am I in the hospital?” she asked, not letting go of his hand.
Hyde paused, searching her face. “You don’t—? You fainted and hit the ground pretty hard. They think you may have gotten a concussion.”
“Well, that explains my headache,” she grumbled and rubbed her head. She looked at Steven who was still looking at her with worried eyes. “Where is everyone?”
“Your parents are out in the hall with your brother, Fez is here but went to find ice cream.” He rolled his eyes at the thought but continued. “And everyone else is on their way.”
“How long have I been out?”
“About forty-five minutes. I’m glad you’re okay,” he answered and pulled her hand up to his lips, placing a gentle kiss.
If it wasn’t for her head screaming at her, her heart would be fluttering away like butterflies, but all she wanted to do was numb the pain. A sharp pain surged through her skull, causing her to hiss.
“What’s wrong? Are you alright?” he asked her.
She tried to nod, but that caused more pain to her skull. “My head hurts. A lot.”
“That’s what happens when you smack your head on concrete,” he answered. “You have a pretty good-sized knot on your head.”
Y/n reached up and felt her scalp until she felt a painful bump behind the side of her head. She winced at her own touched. “Ow.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t do that,” Hyde chuckled. “I’m going to go get something to drink. Do you want anything?”
Her stomach churned at the thought of liquids and scrunched up her nose. “No, but I probably should. I’ll take a ginger ale if they have any.”
“You got it, doll,” he said and walked out just as the doctor was stepping in.
“Good afternoon, Miss Forman,” the middle-aged, dark haired man said. “I’m Dr. Kipp. I’ve been looking over you while you were out. How are you feeling?”
“Not gonna lie, Doc, I feel pretty lousy,” Y/n responded. “I’ve been sick for the last couple of days. Not being able to keep anything down, I’m achy all over…I’m starting to wonder if I have the stomach flu or something. On top of that, my head is killing me.”
“Well, you passed out due to your blood pressure dropping which caused a lack of blood to the brain, but it’s definitely not the stomach flu,” Dr. Kipp answered casually, setting down his clipboard as he went over to the sink to wash his hands.
“How do you know that?” Y/n questioned him.
“Well, it can’t be because you’re pregnant.”
                                                  --Time Skip—
“How’s y/n doing?” Donna asked as she got to the waiting room, flowers in hand.
“Oh, that’s so sweet that you got her flowers!” Kitty gushed, making Donna smile. “And she’s awake. The doctor is in there right now with her.”
“Oh, good,” she said and sat down next to Fez who was quietly eating ice cream. “Where did you get the ice cream?”
“Oh, I told them that y/n was my wife and they let me get ice cream!” he replied stoically.
“So, you’re telling me that you hit on her and now you’re telling people she’s your wife?” Hyde seethed, holding a cup of coffee in one and a ginger ale can in the other.
“Can you kids not fight for five damn minutes please?” Red asked impatiently. “It’s bad enough that we’re here, I don’t want to have to hear about your petty drama.”
“Hey, don’t get mad at me. You’re the reason she’s here in the first place,” said Fez.
“Why would it be your fault?” Kitty asked Hyde.
“It’s not!” Hyde replied. “He’s just saying crap so I can knock his teeth in.”
Kitty and Red squinted their eyes at the teens for a moment. “What on earth is going on here?” Kitty asked, growing frustrated.
“Nothing,” Hyde answered through gritted, glaring daggers at Fez.
Fez returned the glare. “You know, Hyde, I often wonder what it would be like to hook up with my best friend’s sister. Don’t you?”
Hyde’s expression hardened. “It’s a good thing we’re in a hospital because when I break your bones, you’re already here!” Hyde aggressively moved towards Fez, but was stopped short by Eric getting in between them.
“Okay! That’s enough,” he sang-song. “Hyde, why don’t you sit over there quietly and don’t beat up Fez.” He turned to Fez. “And Fez? Shut the hell up.”
Hyde jerked himself away. “I’m going to go give this to y/n.”
Back in the room, y/n felt like the wind had been knocked out of her lungs. “I’m…what?”
“Pregnant,” he responded in a faux enthusiastic voice. “That was through the blood test. We’re going to have you take urine test as well. So,” he pulled out a plastic cup. “You’re going to pee in this cup and when you’re finished, pull the string and a nurse will come in and collect it. Then, we’ll do a full examination on you to make sure your head is okay.”
Y/n nodded numbly and mindlessly grabbed the cup in her hand. “Okay…”
“Probably not the news you were expecting, huh?” he asked.
Y/n chuckled weakly. “No. Not at all.”
“Well, I’ll be back soon with your test results.”
He walked out the door, leaving y/n alone in the room. Her hands felt numb and she felt like there was static all around her. How could she be pregnant? How did she let this happen? And oh God, what was she going to say to Steven? Her eyes widened. Her parents?!
A sudden heavy weight was shattered onto her chest and her eyes began to water. How was she going to tell everyone? What if her dream came true and she truly was alone? Could she raise a baby on her own? Where would she live? What job would she have to do to support her baby? Was she even going to be a good mom? Will her children grow up to be decent people? What if they’re born with health conditions? Or they fall ill? Can she even count on herself to get out of bed at 2 AM to go to the 24 hour store to buy cough medicine when they get sick? How do you even change a poopy diaper? How is she going to react when they’re teenagers and they’re learning how to drive or get their first boyfriend or girlfriend? What kind of mom was she going to be? What kind father was Steven going to be? Will he even stick around?
With all these questions swimming through her head, she didn’t notice Steven walk back in. “I got that ginger ale you—hey, you okay?”
Y/n snapped her head up as she was yanked out of her thoughts, which she silently thanked heaven above for. “Y-yeah, I’m fine.”
“You sure?” he asked as he set down the drink on the table next to her. “You don’t look fine. In fact, you look kinda pale.”
“Yeah, um,” she stuttered, swallowing hard and waved her hand casually. “The doctor says I passed out due to lack of blood to the brain. Blood tests came back normal, but he wants me to take a urine test just to be sure.” Not a total lie. Just left out a part.
“Oh, okay. Do you need help getting to the bathroom?”
“I think I got it,” she answered truthfully and slowly got out of bed, barley able to feel her legs. She ambled her way to the bathroom, dragging the IV along with her. She felt Steven’s stare burning a hole in the back of her head, but she couldn’t think of what he was thinking right now. She couldn’t. It would drive her to an anxiety attack.
She closed the door quietly and baby stepped her way to the toilet. She passed by the mirror and did a double take to her reflection. Her ponytail was a complete rats nest, her eyes had dark circles under them, and her normally rosy cheeks had lost all color. She looked half dead and she wanted to cringe away. She turned her head to the side and saw the swelled up bump on her skull. She winced when she saw it and let out a sigh. She really wanted to curl up into a ball and sleep for 72 hours.
She made her way to the toilet and shakily did her business in the cup. When she was finished, she left in on the counter in the bathroom and pulled the string. After she was finished washing up, she walked out to meet Steven sitting in the chair.
           “Hey,” he said gently whispered.
“Hey,” she answered in the same manner. “Where is everyone?”
“In the waiting room. Do you want to see them?”
Her heart dropped, but she needed to play it cool. “Yeah, that would be nice.”
He nodded and opened the door to call them in. She got back in bed with Hyde’s help, making sure her IV wouldn’t get pulled out of her arm.
“Oh, y/n,” Kitty sobbed and rushed over to y/n who was sitting up fully and wrapped her arms around her. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
Y/n barley reciprocated the hug. “I’m okay, Mom.”
“When we saw you being loaded up into the ambulance, I thought I was going to die right there,” Kitty responded, stepping away from her daughter.
           “I’m fine, Mom. Really.”
“What did the doctor say?” she pried.
           “Uh…they don’t know yet,” Y/n replied. “They’re taking a urine sample.”
“Well, a person fainting is never a good thing,” Kitty stated matter-of-factly. “It means your blood pressure dropped and you weren’t getting enough blood flow to the brain. Those things just don’t happen.”
“I know. They’re running tests right now,” Y/n said and leaned back against the pillows.
“When will we find out?” Red pushed.
“I don’t know,” Y/n responded growing annoyed. “I don’t know anything.” Lie, lie, LIE.
“Well, we better find out soon,” Red said. “This place gives me the creeps.”
“If you wanna leave, you can. I’m a big girl, I can leave on my own,” Y/n responded.
“No, no, I wanna be here in this room when the doctor comes and tells us what’s wrong,” Kitty said stubbornly.
Y/n’s heart and stomach dropped. There was no way anyone was going to be in this room when the doctor came back with the results. Positive or not, she didn’t need her parents asking questions and then finding out about her and Steven.
She kept her face and voice as calm as possible. “No, no it’s okay. Really. I don’t know if I want everyone in here anyway. In fact, it’s probably best that I’m alone.”
           “Oh, nonsense. I—”
“Kitty, if she wants to be alone, then we’ll leave her alone. She’s an adult now. She doesn’t need us in here,” Red said, signaling to his wife that they leave. “Besides, the Packers’s game is on and I wanna go home.”
Kitty sighed, annoyed. “Fine. Fine, I’ll leave, but I want to hear everything, missy.”
Y/n’s eyes widened a fraction and her heart beat violently against her blood cage. She could practically feel her blood pumping through her veins. She nodded numbly. “Okay.”
Kitty nodded and kissed y/n on the head before leaving. She felt some tension leave her body as she watched her parents leave. She leaned her head back against the pillow and closed her eyes, feeling completely drained.
           “Are you okay?” Donna asked.
           “Yeah,” she mumbled. “Just…feeling depleted.”
“Well, you can’t go to sleep yet,” Hyde said. “You might have a concussion.”
           “I want sleep,” she whined.
“I know, but I’d rather you be exhausted than not wake up at all,” he responded.
She glared at him through half open eye lids and grumbled, “I hate you.”
           He chuckled lightly. “I know.”
The door to the room opened revealing Kelso, Fez and Jackie.
“Hey, y/n, how are you feeling?” Kelso asked.
“Bout as great as I look,” she replied, a weak smile playing her lips.
“So, super sexy,” Fez responded cheekily but that smile quickly faded when Hyde punched his shoulder. “Ow.”
“Remember: Respect,” was all Hyde said before sitting back down.
“I heard what happened,” Kelso responded. “And Brooke made me bring you these.” He handed her a small bouquet of yellow daisies and lilies.
Y/n chuckled, accepting the flowers. “Tell Brooke I said thank you for the nice gesture. And tell her to bring the baby around soon. I want to meet my niece.”
Kelso’s face brightened. “You…you really think of her that way?”
Y/n nodded. “Why wouldn’t I? We’ve all been best friends since we were little and it only makes sense that we look at each other more than just friends now.”
“Like lovers?” Fez asked her seductively.
“Do you have a death wish?” Hyde spat.
“Okay, Steven that’s enough,” Y/n said as sternly as she could. “And Fez, shut up.”
Fez pouted and went and sat in the corner of the room.
“You know what? My mind is made up,” Kelso said. Y/n stared at him curiously, everyone joining in.
“Kelso, in order for your mind to be made up, you have to have a brain,” Eric commented.
Kelso shot Eric a glare before turning his head back towards y/n and Hyde. “I’ve been spending a lot of time with Betsy lately and Brooke is really starting to trust me.”
“Okay, and that makes up your mind for?” Y/n asked him.
“Hang on, just let me finish,” he said smiling. “Brooke is starting to trust me so much she’s even allowing me to pick the godparents.”
“Oh, that’s great!” Y/n gleefully responded. “I’m so happy for you.”
“And there’s only one rule. It can’t be Fez,” Kelso added on.
Fez nodded. “That is a good rule.”
“Godparents?” Donna mumbled to Eric. “Like we need any more responsibilities.”
“I know,” Eric whispered back, rolling his eyes. “Such a burden.”
“I’ve been thinking about it a lot and it’s a big deal. So,” Kelso said, stepping closer to the bed where Eric and Donna sat. “Eric, Donna.”
           “Uh, oh,” Eric sang-song.
“Please scooch over so I can ask Hyde and y/n if they’ll be Betsy’s godparents?”
Y/n looked at Hyde with excited eyes. “Really?!”
           “What the hell?!” Eric exclaimed.
“Hyde and y/n?” Donna asked insulted.
“You picked Hyde and y/n?” Jackie asked, equally insulted. “Why didn’t you ask someone else? Like me?”
           “Because you’re single,” Kelso deadpanned.
           Jackie crossed her arms. “And?”
“And you need to be in a relationship to be a godparent,” Kelso responded slowly like he was scared to continue speaking. “That’s why they call it godparents. You can’t be single and be a godparent. That’s just stupid.” He laughed and rolled his eyes.
Jackie stared at him in disbelief, trying to make sense of what he said. “That barley makes any sense, you moron.”
“Hey, hey, hey, he chose us. Let him speak,” Y/n said not trying to contain her glee. “Not that I’m questioning your choice because, you know, you chose us, but why us?”
“Because I really trust you and I think you’d be fantastic with Betsy,” he responded sweetly.
“And you don’t think we won’t?” Eric asked.
“Yeah, you don’t trust us?” Donna chimed in.
“Well, to be fair, I’ve seen you drop almost everything you’ve held in your hands,” Kelso responded. “And you’ve never really taken care of a baby.”
“Yes we have!” Donna defended. “Remember that time last year when Laurie had to babysit that one baby and I ended up changing her diaper when she couldn’t? I was a freakin’ natural!”
“Yeah, I mean, if you gave me the honor of being godmother, I would be popular, head cheerleader, and voted best legs. This would give me another title,” Jackie argued.
“Would you guys relax?” Hyde asked everyone. “It’s not that big of deal.”
“Yeah, it’s not like he’s shunning you guys,” Y/n responded.
“You’re all still going to be aunts and uncles,” Kelso defended.
“Yeah, that’s easy for you to say,” Jackie grumbled and joined Fez in the back.
“We can be good godparents,” Eric argued. “You can trust us.”
“Eric, remember Goldie, the goldfish?” Y/n asked.
           “Yeah,” he responded.
“Remember how you killed Goldie by taking him out of the fish bowl?”
“I needed to hug something,” Eric answered coldly. “Besides, I’m not going to have to flush a baby down the toilet!”
“Either way, man, thanks. I’m honored,” Hyde said and clapped his hand with Kelso’s and pulled him in for a bro hug.
“If I have another kid, I’ll make you two godparents. I promise,” Kelso said.
           Eric huffed. “Yeah, yeah.”
“Alright, I have to take a leak,” Hyde announced.
“And I’m going to go find some more ice cream,” Fez said.
“Can you guys make sure y/n doesn’t fall asleep?” Hyde continued.
“You got it pal!” Kelso responded and watched as Hyde and Fez walked out.
“I’m not a child,” Y/n responded once they were out of ear shot. “I am perfectly capable of looking after myself, thank you.”
“Kelso!” Fez called out and barged back into the room. “Kelso, come quick! There’s a hot nurse fight happening downstairs! Hurry before it ends!”
“See ya,” Kelso said and scrambled out the room, leaving Jackie, Eric, and Donna alone.
“Yeah, I’m leaving too,” Jackie said pouting. “I don’t want to sit here and be reminded that I wasn’t picked for godparent. I may have to do some shopping therapy to get over it. Bye!” She squealed and walked out, leaving just the twins and Donna.
“Do you need anything sis?” Eric asked. “Some water? Fluff up your pillows? Relinquish your title of godparent over to me?”
Y/n gave her twin a look before scoffing. “No, thanks. I’m fine.”
“Fine. I’ll just go see if they have any teddy bears in the gift shop that reads ‘Not Quite the Best Godparents’ and maybe it’ll be tear absorbent!” With that, he stormed out the room, leaving Elena in stunned silence.
Donna rolled her eyes. “I better go after him. Last time I left him alone while he was upset, he thought I didn’t care about him anymore and didn’t speak to me for three days.”
She left, leaving y/n alone in the room. Again. She leaned back once more, enjoying the silence, but now that she was alone again, she realized just how loud the silence was. All she could think was pregnant, pregnant, pregnant.
“What am I going to do?” she mumbled to herself.
The door to the room opened again; Dr. Kipp entering once more.
“Hi Miss. Forman,” Dr. Kipp greeted. “We got your test results back.”
           She gulped. “And?”
He sat down on the stool next to her bed and looked her in the eyes. “It’s positive.”
Her heart dropped completely, and it felt like the wind had been knocked out of her. “I’m pregnant?”
“I know this is a lot to take in, but we need to gather some more information from you so we can determine how far along you are. But first the basics. What’s your full name?”
           “Y/f/n y/m/n Forman.”
He scratched her answer down on his clipboard. “Birthday?”
           “May 18, 1959.”
“So, that makes you eighteen years old, correct?”
           Y/n nodded.
           “Okay, and your current address?”
           “416 Edlebrook Ave.”
“Beautiful,” the doctor responded and looked up from his clipboard. “Do you know who the father is?”
Tears started to burn her eyes as she nodded her head. “I do.”
           “What’s his name?”
           “Steven James Hyde.”
“When was your last menstrual cycle?”
           “Somewhere in mid September.”
“And today is October 19,” he said more to himself. “So, you are about three weeks along. Now, I’m going to give this information to the nurse and have her give you a pamphlet and a referral to an OB/GYN. I’ll have them give you a call to set up an appointment. Do we have permission to leave a message with someone if you’re not available?”
“Uh…no, just me is fine, thanks. I’m not ready to tell people yet.”
He nods. “Understandable. Now, let’s look at your head and see how you’re doing.” As he took out a flashlight and started examining her eyes, Hyde walked back in the room.
“Hey, Doc. How’s she doing?” he asked.
“Well, I’m not seeing any signs of concussion, so that’s good.” He turned off the light and started feeling around underneath her jaw to the back of her head where he felt her bump. She winced and he took note of it. “She seems great besides that nasty bump. Just put some ice on it if it starts to hurt and take some aspirin for the pain. Otherwise, you’re good to go.”
           “What about her test results?”
Dr. Kipp glanced at y/n and saw her terrified look. He glanced back at Steven who looked worried. “Test results came back normal and she’s perfectly healthy.” He noticed Steven visibly relax. “Anything else, she may discuss with you at her discretion.”
Y/n mouthed a thank you to the doctor who gave her a subtle nod and finished writing his notes on his clipboard. “I’ll have a nurse discharge you. You have a good rest of your night and rest up.”
           Y/n nodded. “Thank you.”
With that, he left the room, leaving y/n wanting to vomit—and not from feeling sick this time. She continued to sit in her bed, not being able to properly process the information. Her world felt fuzzy and she felt like she was going to pass out for a second time. She could hear Steven talking to her, but it was all garbled and muffled as if she were underwater. Was her dream right? Was she going to be disowned by her family? Is she going to disappoint her mother? Oh no, how is Red going to take this? She and Steven are dead. Dead like road kill.
She heard Steven’s muffled voice again, but this time louder. She blinked and looked up at Steven. “I’m sorry, what?”
He knitted his eyebrows at her. “I said, are you okay? Do you need help getting dressed?”
She shook her heavy head and slowly slid out of bed. “I should be okay.” She untied her hospital gown, allowing it to pool around her feet. She shivered as the cold air hit her bare skin and turned to see her clothes balled up in a plastic bag. She slowly started dressing herself and felt Hyde’s eyes burn into her the whole time.
She finally looked up at him as she finished putting on her pajama top. “What’s up?”
“Are you sure you’re okay? You’re acting different.”
She nodded, not being able to look him in the eye. “Yeah, I think so. Just still not feeling well and feeling a little disoriented from the fall. But I think I’m good.”
He eyed her for a minute. “Okay,” he responded slowly. “As long as you don’t pass out on me again.”
She chuckled. “I think I’ll be okay.”
A knock came at the door and the nurse walked in. “Okay, Miss Forman. Here are your doctor’s notes to help you feel better. Plenty of rest and fluids. And—” She noticed Steven listening to her and she looked back down at the pamphlet in her hands and slid the doctor’s notes over it. “Here’s everything you else need to know. If you have any questions, there’s a number you can call and if you don’t get better or start to feel worse, come on back in.”
Y/n thanked her and quietly gathered the rest of her stuff and headed out with Steven. He guided her slowly into the camino and started up the car. She rested her elbow on the windowsill of the door and leaned her head into her hand, feeling like sleep will overtake her any minute now. Hyde placed a gentle hand on her thigh and lovingly rubber circles with his thumb.
“Let’s get you back in bed, yeah?”
She swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded, not being able to form words in fear she would start crying.
The drive home was deathly quiet as rain started to fall. The only noise emitting was outside as the rain fell onto the windshield. Not being able to handle the silence, Hyde reached over and turned on the radio, allowing the music to softly fill the car. It eased the tension slightly, allowing y/n to relax.
He pulled up in front of a supermarket and put the car in park.
“What are we doing here?” she croaked.
           “Do you want some soup?”
She gave him a small smile. “That would be nice. Thank you.”
He nodded and got out of the car, leaving it on so the heater would warm up y/n. Ever since the hospital, she’d been cold and not able to heat up as fast as she normally would. She shivered, realizing she didn’t bring a jacket or her robe. She looked around the car and noticed a blanket behind the driver’s seat. She wrapped her cold fingers around the soft material and realized it was their sex blanket. She crunched up her nose a little, noticing some stains. “Ugh, gross,” she murmured before placing the clean side on her. The stench of sex filled her nostrils, but luckily it didn’t upset her stomach more than it already was.
She waited in the car for a few more minutes with the blanket pulled up to her chin and listened to the music. Paul Anka came on, singing (You’re) Having My Baby.
“Would you look at that,” she grumbled and changed the station. Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely was on playing. “What the…” she grumbled and changed it to another station. A country song this time was playing. One that y/n didn’t know, but it was better than the others, so she left it on. She listened to the lyrics as they went:
The girls in New York City, they all march for women's lib And better homes and garden shows, the modern way to live And the pill may change the world tomorrow, but meanwhile, today Here in Topeka, the flies are a buzzin' The dog is a barkin' and the floor needs a scrubbin' One needs a spankin' and one needs a huggin' Lord, one's on the way
Oh gee, I hope it ain't twins, again.
“Are you kidding me?” She reached over and turned off the radio, choosing to sit in silence.
Just then the driver’s door opened and Steven clambered inside with a container of chicken soup in one hand and a pack of cigarettes in the other. “Here you go, doll.”
“Awe, thank you, baby.” She grabbed the container from his hands and allowed the warmth to thaw her icy ones.
“You turned off the music?” he questioned and started to beat the pack against the heel of his hand.
“Yeah, there was nothing good on.” Technically not a lie.
“Ah, makes sense,” he responded and noticed the blanket. He snorted teasingly. “Cold?”
“No, no, I’m burning up actually. The blanket was so I could feel like I’m in hell.”
He threw his add head back laughing. “Take it easy, Firecracker. If I hada known you were cold, I would’ve given you my jacket.”
She smirked at him. “Nah, this is fine. Thanks. Besides, I wouldn’t want you to be cold.”
“I’ll be fine,” he said and stuck a cigarette between his lips.
Y/n’s eyes widened and quickly ripped it from him mouth.
           “What the hell, y/n?”
“Uh, I’m still not feeling well enough. I don’t want hurl all over your car.”
He scrunched up his nose at her. “Fine. Fair point. But I’m smoking when I get back!”
Y/n shook her head at him. “What a rebel.”
“Damn straight,” he responded and turned the car on. “Don’t forget who you’re with.”
           “I couldn’t even if I wanted to.”
He smiled at her before backing up and driving them home for the night.
                                                 --Time Skip—
The next couple of days were brutal for y/n. Kitty wouldn’t stop interrogating her and y/n finally told something made up to get her off her back. Kitty didn’t believe her, but she backed off knowing she’ll be back again. She wanted so badly to tell Steven about her pregnancy, but every time she tried, it would come out a different sentence.
“I’m,” she would start, but right when she would look into his baby blue eyes, she would panic. “hungry. I’m hungry, starving! Can we go get something to eat?”
He would give her a weird look before agreeing and leaving to buy her food.
On top of that, morning sickness would rear its ugly head and she would end up being sick at the most random of times. She would be sitting down in the basement with her friends, feeling fine, but then she would feel her lunch coming back up and she would have to haul ass to the nearest restroom.
Everyone was worried about her, trying to get her to go back to the doctor, but she already knew. She had secretly made the appointment with the OB/GYN and wasn’t going to be able to see her until two weeks out. Until then, she had to keep lying and making excuses.
“It’s been almost a week,” Eric said one afternoon as they were all huddled into the basement. “You really should go back to the doctor.”
“I’d rather not,” Y/n said. “Going to the doctors for every sniff and cough is not my thing.”
“But it’s not just a sniffle or a cough,” he pointed out. “It’s like one minute you’re fine and then the next you’re throwing up Mom’s tuna casserole.”
“That was a long night,” she countered, remembering that night as she had to lay on the floor next to the toilet for hours because she couldn’t stop throwing up.
“Well, can you still keep down fluids?” Donna asked. “Like, chicken broth, orange juice, and tea?”
“Yeah, those are fine,” Y/n responded. “I just can’t seem to digest solid foods. But I was able to drink apple juice the other day with some bread. I’m also not nauseas all day anymore. I think I’m getting better.”
“Well, if you’re feeling better, wanna go shoot some hoops?” Kelso asked.
“Nah, but you guys can,” Y/n responded. “Me and Donna can just sit and ogle.”
“I knew you were checking me out,” Kelso purred and rubbed his chest.
“Not you, you dork,” Y/n said. “Hyde and Eric.”
“You ogle at me?” Eric said disgusted. “That’s gross.”
“No! Donna is, you dumbass!” Y/n said and stood up while Eric laughed. “Moron.”
She walked outside to the driveway with everyone behind her. As they reached the driveway, the boys split up into their group while Donna and y/n moved away to watch from the porch.
“So, Hyde, how’s it been with you and y/n?” Kelso asked under his breath, making sure the girls couldn’t hear.
“You know, things are going good, but with her being sick this past week, it’s been kinda hard not getting any action,” Hyde responded.
“Ewwwww! Could you please not?” Eric exclaimed. “I told you I don’t wanna hear it.”
“I know, that’s why I did it,” Hyde laughed and tossed the ball to Eric. “Your play. Go.”
The girls watched from the porch, admiring the way their men looked. Y/n wanted so badly to jump Hyde’s bones, but didn’t want to puke in the middle of it and ruin the mood. She and Donna chatted idly as they watched their men get sweaty and hot.
“Look, I know he’s your brother, but damn does he look hot when he’s all concentrated,” Donna swooned as she watched Eric block Fez’s slam dunk.
“Really? I think he looks constipated,” Y/n laughed.
In the middle of the play, Eric turned, facing them while trying to block Kelso from making his shot. The concentration he wore on his face made Donna drool but laugh.
“You’re right, he does look constipated,” she agreed and laughed even more.
“I know you don’t think so, but Steven just looks so good when he’s moving around like that,” Y/n said and stared at her boyfriend. “I mean, when he gets all sweaty and flushed, it makes me want him so bad.”
Donna chuckled. “So, how have you guys been?”
“We’ve been good. You know with me being this sick, we haven’t really gotten the time to do it or anything.”
“From the looks of it earlier and hearing Eric scream ‘ew’ makes me believe that Hyde already said something like that to him,” Donna laughed once more.
             Y/n chuckled. “Sounds about right.”
They fell into a comfortable silence as they watched the four boys play basketball. The entire time, y/n’s heart was hammering against her chest, debating on telling Donna right there. She couldn’t take keeping a secret this big from her best friend. Besides, if she wasn’t going to tell someone soon, she was going to explode.
“Donna,” she said shakily. “I have something to tell you.”
Seeing how serious her tone was, Donna perked up. “What?”
“I need you to promise me that you’re not going to freak out. Because if you do, everyone will hear it and I can’t have that right now.”
Donna’s heart started beating wildly against her own ribcage, now nervous and worried. “Okay?”
“And whatever happens, promise me you’ll still be my friend?”
           “Of course! What’s going on?”
Y/n took a deep breath before looking Donna in the eye. At that moment, she wanted to crawl up in a bawl and just cry. But she knew she couldn’t; She had to be strong. So instead she let out a shaky breath.
             “I’m pregnant.”

Chapter 7
Stark Spangled Banner Masterlist // Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
“SSSSTEEEEEEEEEVE!”
The scream made the glass of water in Steve’s hand slip to the point he almost dropped it. Placing it down with a slam on the coffee table he stood up and bolted down the hall towards his bathroom only to be met by Katie, who was in her bra and denim shorts hurtling towards him.
“What is it?” He frowned, instantly placing himself between her and the bathroom, looking at the door.
“In there.” She muttered, and as her hands gripped at his hips he could feel her shaking behind him.
“Someone’s in there?” He looked over his shoulder and down at her.
She shook her head, stuttering a little in fear.  “I… just… I can’t…”
Steve was really puzzled now. Not a lot phased Katie Stark. She had fought alongside him in the battle of New York, facing off against God Knows how many Aliens. The year before she had tackled the Mandarin with her brother, then there was Loki in the Desert, countless missions with SHIELD, so what on Earth had got her so petrified, in his bathroom no less,  that she was trembling behind him?
“Stay here.” He instructed, gently before he crept forward and stepped to the bathroom. The door was wide open and he could see or hear nothing. Frowning he looked behind the door, in the tall cupboard that housed his toiletries, towels, bedsheets etc… all clear. He was just about to ask her what the fuck was going on when a movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention. He glanced into the shower cubicle and there was the culprit.
“Jesus Christ sweetheart.” He groaned, with a somewhat exasperated sigh as he looked at the spider. “You nearly gave me a heart attack. I thought someone had broken in and was about to kill you.”
“Something did break in!” She squeaked back, still from her spot in the hall “It’s gonna eat me!” Steve rolled his eyes to himself. It was nothing more than a house spider. A fairly big one, he had to admit, but utterly harmless. Nevertheless, he knew Katie was petrified of the damned things. She had admitted to him post an incident with one on a Quinjet that she had woken up when she was three with one on her face and had been scared witless of them ever since.
“Katie, it’s not gonna hurt you.” he reasoned.
“I don’t care!” her voice was high pitched “Incy Wincy fucking Gorilla needs to leave” That did make him laugh. “Okay, Okay.” His chuckles died down. “I’ll sort it. Don’t panic.” Luckily for her, spiders fascinated Steve. He had always found their webs a thing of beauty, and in the army had often wandered the woods early in the morning to see them speckled with dew in the growing light of the sunrise or frost in the winter, sketching the particularly intricate ones he found. He bent down, scooped the arachnid in to his hands careful to keep it enclosed and headed back into the hall. “Where is..is it IN YOUR HANDS?” She shrieked, eyes wide as she backed away from him. “Why didn’t you kill it?” “I’m not gonna kill it!” he said, shaking his head “It isn’t his fault you’re scared of him.” “But…”
“Honey, it’s fine, I’m gonna let it go outside!” He tried hard not to laugh at the sheer look of disgust and horror on her face. “Just open the door for me ok?”
“Outside outside or like the hall way outside?” She said, looking at him. He paused for a moment, he had been thinking just the hall- it was a house spider after all. But he could hear her reaction already- I’ll just come back under the door…
“Outside outside.” he confirmed, and her shoulders visibly sagged as she exhaled and headed to the doorway. She opened it, then backed away from him to let him out. Giving her a smile he headed outside, spider safely contained in his cupped hands as he headed down the stairs to the main door of his apartment block. Using his foot to keep the door jarred open, he stooped down and gently let the spider go. It scurried off and he wiped his hands on his jeans before he took the three flights back up to his floor two steps at a time. Katie was in the kitchen, still in her bra and shorts, a glass of water in her hand. He leaned in the doorway looking at her for a moment, smile playing on his lips. Even when she was being absurd he loved her.
“You can stop looking at me like that.” she said to him.
“Like what?”
“Like you think I’m utterly ridiculous.
”Steve cut her off with a chuckle “You are utterly ridiculous.” he said, striding towards her to give her a hug. She let out a noise that was half chuckle, half groan as she pressed her face into his t-shirt. “But I love you, arachnophobia induced drama included.
”She stayed still, her cheek pressed into his chest as his hands gently held her close, palms warm on her bare back.
“Gonna go for my shower now.” She mumbled.
“Ok” he pressed a kiss to her head “You coming back out or going straight to bed?”
“Bed.”
“Alright, I won’t be far behind you.”
She smiled up at him, before she headed out of the room and he watched her go, her hips swaying gently as she walked.
The water was hot as Katie stepped underneath it. She hated being that petrified of something as stupid as a spider, she really did. Logically she knew it was daft, they were so small in comparison to her. Tony had constantly told her whenever he had to rescue her from the eight-legged-freaks, ‘they’re more scared of you than you are of them’, but that was utter bollocks. Frankly, she’d take fighting off ten men single handed against dealing with one of them.
With a sigh she washed her hair, turned the water off and then set about cleaning her teeth before she headed out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. Steve was already in there and as she walked into the room he gently tossed a clean t-shirt onto the bed for her and she grinned. She loved sleeping in his shirts, for no reason other than they were his. And he loved the fact she loved to sleep in them for the same reason. He dropped a kiss to her cheek and told her he was going for a shower himself before he headed into the bathroom himself. She dried off, braided her hair before shrugging the T-shirt and settling down between the sheets of his bed. Steve returned a little under ten minutes later, chest speckled with drops of water he hadn’t dried off completely.
“Honey do you want a drink or anything?”
“No I’m good, Stevie, thanks.” She mumbled, eyes closed as she snuggled further into the bed. He dressed in a pair of sweats, leaving his chest bare- another thing he’d started doing since they’d been sharing a bed as Katie much preferred snuggling into him like that- and he began the usual routine of checking the doors and windows before he returned and slipped under the covers next to her. She let out a sigh and moved so that her head was lay on his chest, her hand gently tangling into the smattering of dark blonde hair that was there. He could tell she was wide awake, pondering something.
“What’s the matter?” he asked gently.
“Do you think I’m a dumbass, you know, because of the whole…spider thing? I know it’s ridiculous, but...”
Steve took a deep breath and moved so that he was led on his side, facing her. She pouted at being jostled off his chest and he smiled at the look of indignation on her face as he tucked a stray hand of hair behind her ear.
“Clowns.” he said gently.
“What? What has that got-“
“I hate them.” He gave a little shrug. “They freak me out. Big time. Can’t stand to look at them let alone be in the same room as them.” “So that’s why you don’t wanna watch IT.” She smiled softly “You’re scared of Clowns?” He nodded “Once when we were kids, there was a Carnival down at Coney. Bucky and I went in this like maze thing. Contained a load of mirrors and stuff…but the last room you went in was basically nothing but clowns, and you had no idea which one was the mirror and which one was the real thing.” He gave a shudder at the memory and he felt his girl’s hands warm on his chest. “Well, when the damned thing moved I had a complete melt down, asthma attack, you name it…”
“Why have you never told me this before?”
“Doesn’t do my Captain Badass image any good, does it?”
“And my spider phobia doesn’t do mine any good.” She chuckled a little. “Especially seeing as one of my best friend’s goes by the code name Black Widow.” He gave a little chuckle and wrapped his arms around her, as she turned over to get comfortable. He pulled her to him, her back pressing to his chest, and closed his eyes as he wrapped himself around her. She sighed, happy to bask in his warmth.
“Thank you for rescuing me” She mumbled and he gave a laugh that vibrated through his chest into her.
“Isn’t that what a man is supposed to do? Be his Dame’s Knight in shining armour?”
“Yeah but most Knights slay fire breathing dragons…” she said, before pausing slightly. “Oh God can u imagine? A fire breathing spider?”  she shivered.
“Ok. Honey, now you’re being ridiculous again.” he said, eyes still closed.
“Hey, for all we know it could exist, like in the deepest, depths of Peru somewhere, just hasn’t been discovered…”
“Well, lucky for us we aint in Peru.” he said with a sigh, as he dropped a soft kiss to the back of her neck. “Now go to sleep.”

How about I throw out a new chapter?
That'll be nice for a Saturday, right?
Meh, have one anyway.
Here's a snippet:
Selene grabbed a slice of pizza from the box on the table and dropped down onto the couch next to Gordon, uncaring as to the fact that he was barely dressed. When you watched him dive in and out of the pool in his Olympic issue swimming speedos just because he felt like it, you were pretty much desistized to anything.
She took a bite and made a face, it wasn’t the best pizza she’d ever had, not that that would stop her, she started to chew. Tonight was definitely the time for comfort food and pizza, even when bad, is still pretty good.
“Why are you in my flat?” she asked around a mouthful. She chewed some more and swallowed quickly when she saw the look on his face. “Not that I mind you letting yourself in, you know you’re always welcome. But I thought you were with Penny for the whole weekend.”
Gordon shrugged casually, but his eyes flickered towards the discarded pile of clothes on the floor beside the couch. It looked like one of his new suits and really shouldn’t have been treated in such a way. The jacket was scrumpled in a ball and the pants left where they had fallen, the shirt lay tossed over the arm of the couch and the shoes had been kicked off haphazardly, one lying under the table while the other had flown clear across the room to land by the dresser.
“Didn’t feel like it once I got there, I left Penny to her networking and caught a cab back here as I wouldn't have been able to get into the manor.”
Selene scowled, that wasn't like him, he was one of the more social Tracys and, since he was still relatively young, he usually jumped at the chance to spend time off island if he could. A party or a dinner was usually greeted with great enthusiasm. She decided to ignore that for now, he'd tell her in his own time. Years ago she would have pushed him more, but now they all knew her well enough to know that she was there to listen whenever they needed her and would seek her out if they wanted to.
"How was the conference?" she asked instead, swiping his bottle of beer, one of John's he had obviously liberated from the fridge, and taking a sip. "You must have been so excited to be asked to speak."
Again he shrugged. "It was OK, I'm pretty sure they only asked me out of courtesy for Penny and because it looked good to have someone from International Rescue on the schedule. It was pretty boring really."
"Why did you say yes then? It's not like you don't have a good excuse to get out of anything you don't fancy."
"Penny said it would be good for me to start making a name for myself, she's right, I'm not getting any younger-"
Selene snorted at this, Gordon was only 26, he had his whole life ahead of him. Although, if anyone knew that your life could be changed or even snuffed out at any moment, it was Gordon, so she kept quiet.
"She said that I should start thinking about my long term plans. We can't be doing International Rescue full time forever and, while we do have enough money to never have to work, you know we'd all get bored. Everyone else seems to have a backup already, John does his remote lectures and writes his books, and you know that he's always being called on to consult or collaborate with someone for something or another. Virgil has that fancy engineering degree of his, he's always tinkering around with Brains and the things they invent together could keep them busy for years to come. Alan is all fresh and new, he's already making a name for himself online with his team ups with Brandon, and Scott could walk into a job with the air Force or the GDF without even pausing to ask, then there's me, no college education, no specialist subjects-"
"Bullshit," Selene cut in. "A college education isn't for everyone, just because you don't have a piece of paper doesn't mean you aren't smart or an expert in your field. Someone once told me that, because I didn't have that kind of higher education I wasn't as smart as them, that I wasn't capable of making decisions because I didn't have the same knowledge they did. But knowledge is subjective, babe."
Gordon snorted at that, he knew what it was like too, he knew how people would judge him as the dumb brother because he'd chosen a different path than the more academic one the others had taken.
"It's true," she insisted. "Look at John, as much as I adore that man, he's proof that all the book smarts in the world can't always compare to common sense or life experience. You can know all about astrophysics but if you don't know how to interact with people or how to survive in the world then you're fucked either way. You are amazing, you know science and biology and genetics or you wouldn't have made those beautiful fish or done so much for marine conservation and, no matter who you're dating, the Friends of the Ocean yearly conference would not have let you speak if you didn't know your shit."
"I know," he sighed, "but it doesn't always feel that way, you know?"
"Oh, believe me I know," she rolled her eyes and reached for another slice of pizza.
"I guess it's just hard to be surrounded by such high achieving brothers. I look at Penny and I think what is she doing with me? She would be much better suited to someone like Scott, or John, you know."
"I'm pretty sure that Cat and I would have something to say about that. Besides, look at me and John, it's not like anyone would put us two together. On paper we shouldn't work at all, we're far too different. Yet we do. You can't help who you fall in love with."
Gordon's eyes slid sideways to watch her, the tone in her voice telling him that she wasn't just talking about his brother at that moment. There was something there that spoke of past experiences that didn't hold good memories for her.
He frowned, a thought occurring to him, one that he just had to voice.
"Sel, why are you here? You don't have any clients booked, I know because you said that was why Scott had to drop me off, because you weren't heading back for at least a week."
Selene kept quiet, her eyes on her pizza slice. This wasn't like her, she usually needed to be prised off his brother and dragged away kicking and screaming. She liked to spend the majority of her time on the island with them even if John wasn't home.
"Did something happen?" Gordon's voice was quiet, comforting, not pushing her to speak but inviting her to confide in him if she wanted to.
"I just needed some space, some time alone," she finally admitted, still not looking at him as she fiddled with the crust of her pizza.
"Oh, do you need me to go? Sorry, I know I should have asked but I didn't know where else to go and I couldn't really face the questions back home." Trust him to burst in and make himself a nuisance when he wasn't welcome, it seemed to be the story of his life.
"No, you're fine," she assured him, patting his bare knee. "I get it. I don't need space from you, just your idiot brothers."
"Which ones, I have a lot," he grinned, relaxing a little now that they were back on more familiar territory.
"John and Scott."
His eyebrows rose at this. Scott he could understand, but she never needed time away from John, in fact she was always complaining that she didn't get enough.
"I walked out on my husband," she whispered, the slice of pizza hanging limply from her fingers. "He was upset and so was I but I left him, I walked out."
Gordon could not have been more shocked if she had suddenly grown a fishtail and whacked him in the crotch with it.
"Tell me what happened," he said, it wasn't a question, it was a silent demand, showing him to have the same authority that his father had, just in a more laid back package.
She didn't want to talk, she didn't want to drag it all up again now that she had finally calmed down from her breakdown at ten thousand feet. She didn't want to start thinking about it all again, but Gordon was there, all endearing face and big brown eyes that implored her to talk to him, to trust him. Maybe he wouldn't judge her too harshly, maybe he would understand. She risked a glance his way, seeing the firm set to his jaw, letting her know on no uncertain terms that he was not prepared to let this go.
"John punched my ex-fiance in the face and broke his nose," she answered, knowing she had no other choice.
OK, if he had thought her last statement was shocking this little revelation shot it into orbit.
"He…what? John? My brother John?"
"Yep, with the other dumbass tagging along for good measure apparently."
"OK, OK, give me a second to get my head around this, I need to process. My brother, the one that is usually so against violence of any kind, straight up punched your ex?"
Selene nodded.
"Come on, surely you aren't pissed off at him for that? He must have had a good reason for it!"
"Well, Nathaniel isn't a good guy at the best of times..."
"Nathaniel? I don't know about him."
Selene frowned, glancing his way again. Was he being honest with her right now, did he really not know? Surely if Penny knew then she would have told Gordon too?
“Penny didn’t tell you?” she asked, needing to clarify.
“One thing to remember about Penny is that she's very good at keeping secrets and knows how to keep things close to her chest. She only ever tells what she thinks you need to know,” he chuckled lightly but to Selene's ears it lacked his usual humour, sounding a little flat. “So, spill, I’m all ears. You know that a problem shared is, well maybe not a problem halved but at least you won’t be suffering on your own.”
Selene smiled softly, he really was the best boy. She'd admit that if she had to pick someone to open up to and talk to about her problems, Gordon probably wouldn’t be at the top of her list, but in times like these he reminded her of just how awesome he really was. It was easy to forget that he could be serious, it often got lost in the bad jokes and his general enthusiasm for life, but that didn't mean that he wasn't as dependable as the others.
"It's a long story."
"I've got time," he gestured down to his almost naked self and the half eaten pizza. "Not like I'm going anywhere."
Selene paused, did she really want to dredge it all up again? The answer was no, but, whatever Nathaniel did as retaliation, and there was no question that he would, was bound to spill over into all their lives. They would all find out sooner or later, hell, it seemed like half of them knew already, it would be better for it to come from her in her own words.
"We're gonna need more beer,” she sighed, tossing the half eaten pizza slice back in the box.

Warnings: Smut
A/N: I finally got @morena-barbie request done! And I finally got to write for EZ ❤️ Anyways requests are open! Enjoy, don’t be afraid to comment or reblogging
Tumblr media
EZ stared at you from afar while Angel rambled on about Adelita. He hated that he wasn’t holding you at the moment.
“Stop staring, Boy Scout.” Coco nudged him.
“I’m not.”
“Then why are you drooling?” Gilly pointed out, making Angel and Coco laugh.
After the laughs subsided, Angel hooked his arm around his brother’s neck. “I get it, bro. She’s fine. But her dad is more dangerous than Galindo and we’re doing business with him. It’s a bad idea.”
“I know, Angel.” EZ said to appease his brother, but it was too late. You and him were a couple for a little over four months.
The two of you met back at Stanford. Both people of color at a PWI and the two of you instantly clicked when you sat next to each other in English lit.
Even back then you had a crush on EZ, but he was still with Emily at the time. So, you kept your feelings hidden and remained friends, but even that didn’t last long. EZ got arrested for killing that cop and eventually he stopped writing you back.
You two reconnected when you so happen to bump into him while your dad was doing business with the Mayans and the Galindo cartel. What a difference eight years did. EZ was no longer a boy, but a grown ass man and now part of a biker gang.
Your eyes would flit over to EZ every so often, you wanted to be next to him. Currently, you were standing beside Nathan, your dad’s head of security and a constant pain in your ass. Both him and your dad thought you would be the perfect couple, but you weren’t interested because he wasn’t EZ.
“Excuse me, I’m gonna check on the other guests,” you excused yourself from Nathan, Miguel, and his wife.
EZ saw you coming over and the corners of his lips tugged into a smile. “Fellas,” you nodded to the whole group. “How’s everything?”
“Good. The margaritas strong as shit, though.” Coco tipped his cup and finished the drink.
“It’s not stopping you!” You joked, pointing to his empty cup.
“How are you, Y/N?” EZ asked, wanting your attention back on him.
“Good, just a little sore. I did some extra cardio last night.” You licked your lips, remembering your workout.
Y’all were on round 3. Round 1 was the pool where you gave EZ some sloppy top and then he eagerly returned the favor. Round 2 was on the kitchen counter where EZ slid inside of you while licking vanilla ice cream from your nipples. Round 3 was on the couch where you both attempted to watch a movie until you backing your ass on EZ ended with you taking a pounding from behind.
“Baby, please.” You were begging, reaching behind you to hold onto his arm. You needed the release. EZ was edging you for teasing him while he was watching the movie.
“No, I told you to quit it and you didn’t listen. I really wanted to watch that movie.”
You looked over your shoulder and gave him a shit-eating grin. “But I’m so much more entertaining,” You clenched around EZ making him falter a bit.
“Naughty girl,” EZ chuckled, his lips ghosting over your back. He proceeded to the fuck you silly. Words were not a thing. He had every intention of driving you wild, making any other man you ever been with a distance memory.
“Cum on my cock, baby.” The flood gates opened; you came all over EZ. He fucked you through it until he filled up the condom.
EZ turned you over onto your back and kissed down the column of your neck. “Can we finish the movie now?” His voice muffled by your neck.
Laughing you turned to the side, so the two of you could cuddle and finish the movie with no distractions, hopefully.
“Sounds brutal. Maybe you should go a little easier on yourself.” EZ commented, enjoying he was the cause of your soreness.
“Yeah, my trainer is a real hardass.” Your little téte-à-téte was turning you on and you were about to make up some excuse to need EZ’s help, but Emily showed up.
It was bullshit. She didn’t need anything from you. Ever since you showed up Emily could feel EZ pull away. His attention was never focused on her anymore, but always on you. She could never stand you. Whenever she would call EZ while he was at Stanford it was always Y/N this, Y/N that, Y/N, Y/N, Y/N.
Then at this celebration, the men could not keep their eyes off you, including her husband. Then it wasn’t just your beauty that enticed them, it was your brains as well. Usually, surrounded by powerful men, Emily was used to being the smartest woman in the room. Now she was second best.
You allowed Emily to pull you away, but you weren’t listening to the conversation at all. Your eyes kept drifting to EZ and the rest of the Mayans. They weren’t stuck up at all like the Galindos and Nathan.
Emily soon noticed you weren’t present with them and decided to fuck with you. “Y/N, are you dating anyone? I’m sure any man is lucky to have you.”
This bitch. If it didn’t start a war, you would wrap your hands around her tiny ass throat. For the life of you, you couldn’t understand why this married woman felt entitled to be jealous over EZ. Well, she choose the wrong bitch to fuck with today.
“As a matter of fact, I am.” Your smile grew bigger as you thought about the bomb you were about to drop.
“Who’s the lucky guy?” Emily believed you would lie and consequently hurt EZ’s feelings and he’ll come running back to her.
Your father so happened to be walking by and heard the conversation. You never told him or your mom anything about dating anybody. He stopped to hear your answer.
“Him.” Spinning around you pointed at EZ laughing at something stupid Angel said.
EZ felt like there were a thousand stares on him and when he turned around, he saw you smiling, pointing at him. “Oh shit.”
“What the hell did you do, Ezekiel?” Angel questioned, feeling uncomfortable about the stares he was also getting by just being in close proximity to his little brother.
“Remember when you told me to leave Y/N alone?”
“Yeah, dumbass. I just told you.”
“It was too little, too late. We’ve been dating for four months.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you get a hard-on for women you shouldn’t be with?”
Seeing Emily’s face was worth it. You didn’t want to out your relationship with EZ until later, but Emily gave you no other choice.
Leaving behind your parents, the Galindos, and Nathan you walked up to EZ, put your hands on either side of his face and pulled him down for a kiss. His hesitancy produced a giggle from you. He was trying his hardest to be modest, when all he really wanted to was throw you against a wall.
Before the kiss could get too scandalous, you pulled away from EZ and wiped some of your lip gloss from his lips. “Everyone listen up, me and Ezekiel are a couple. Nothing or no one,” you stared directly at your dad and then Emily, “will stop us. If you got a problem with that, then you can kindly fuck off. We’ll make sure it will not affect any business. We good? Miguel? Bishop? Daddy?” You asked each man, refraining from saying Emily’s name.
“I’m good, if they’re good. Specifically, your dad.” Bishop held his hands in surrender. He thought it was good that the prospect wasn’t focused on Emily anymore and he had to thank you for that.
Miguel nodded his head in agreeance. Anything to keep Ezekiel Reyes from his wife was good to him.
Your dad knew he shouldn’t have tried to control your love life. Every time he tried to push something on you, you rebelled. He could tell Nathan was pissed to lose you to some low life, but when he saw how you and EZ looked at each other, he knew he couldn’t deny you. “Take care of her, Prospect.”
EZ shook your dad’s hand, “I will, sir.”
You squealed and jumped in his arms. Now no one could take you away from your man.

Until The End Of Time (Diego Hargreeves x reader)

Diego’s pov;
Maybe it was because I haven't seen Y/N in a long time, she seemed different. Sure her hair got longer, her smile was pretty as it had always been and her 60s styled outfit looked really good on her. But it was more than the change of her appearance.
It was as if she didn't notice me at all.
Ever since the family split up after Five time traveled from the apocalypse in 2019, I did everything I could to find Y/N. All the stores and the alleyways I've been at, she was never there. Eventually, some lunatic called the cops on me for disturbance and they decided to stick me here in the institution.
I couldn't lie about the fact that my emotions got to me to make stupid decisions. I've gotten angry at a man I tried to ask questions regarding Y/N. His rude response got the best of me and I punched him, called him fouls names.
If he hadn't said and I quote "No, I don't care about your bitch", he wouldn't have gone home with a broken nose and a black eye. It wouldn't have landed me at this institution either.
Couple months later, Five found me at the institution, told me he hasn't found anyone else in the family yet. The first thought I had in mind was Y/N and the possibility of her still being alone in the streets of Dallas.
Being a great brother that Five was, he left me in there. After I knew that the rest of the family had maybe landed here in Dallas as well, I had to try more to find Y/N. I needed to see her again.
With the help of my new friend Lila, we barely escaped from the institution. We've almost got busted by the security guards and the police officers that were looking for us but we managed to get their eyes off of us for a bit.
Who would've thought after busting my ass to find Y/N, she'd welcome me back with cold shoulder.
I'd thought the reunion with Y/N would be romantic in a sense, or at least heartwarming. She avoided eye contact with me, barely touching me as we hugged each other. I couldn't question her though, maybe later when we were alone.
Y/N’s pov;
Maybe I was overthinking, realistically I had no right to be angry or upset but I was. Diego returned to our family with a girl by his side. Not only was she a girl, she was unique and pretty badass. Not to mention they were oddly close to each other. This Lila girl and Diego looked like a good pair.
Yeah, I was jealous.
How can I not be? I've been away from my family for nearly two years after landing in 1961. Of course Diego found someone new, an upgrade if you will. After upgrading himself with nice hair and a beard.
It was still upsetting that after all the years of serving as a detective, going through hoops looking for him and Diego appears out of nowhere. I guess maybe I was the dumbass that waited years for him.
'Let's meet back together tonight to talk about dad and his whereabouts.' Five said as he stood up. 'If any of you are late I swea-'
'Yeah, yeah. You won't do shit to us.' Klaus smiled, tapping on his shoulder.
Everyone laughed in sync, Five rolling his eyes knowing damn well that we will at least 10 minutes late. 'The things I do for you guys.'
Allison giggled, pulled on my hand as she pulled me to the corner of the room. It had been years since I've seen my sister, her and Diego were the only two in the family that I haven't seen since the apocalypse.
'I can't believe you have a husband... again!' I poked her on the shoulder, 'Allison Chestnut does have a nice ring to it.'
'It does sound good, doesn't it?' Allison smiled, 'And Ray is great, amazing actually. What about you? Found anyone during the time you were here?'
"Pathetic" was the first thing I thought in my head when I realized the past two years, I didn't even bat an eye for anyone. There were other detectives and officers that were attractive of course but I didn't care to build a relationship past friendship with any of them. My mind was too focused on Diego and only him.
'A few dudes from work, yeah.'
Allison raised her eyebrows, immediately started to laugh as she detected my lie. 'You're still the worst liar I've ever met. Is this abou-'
'You know it is. Sh! Don't say it too loud.'
'So what? You waited for him and now you're not gonna talk to him?'
Having Allison as my best friend was a blessing and a curse, she read me like a book even when we haven't seen each other for years. Granted mind reading was my specialty, I always felt like Allison had this secret power and never told anyone.
'Well, in case you became blind in these past three years you've been stuck here, he has a girl with him.'
'I don't know, it doesn't seem like anything to me.'
'Okay, so you are blind.'
'Y/N, you're over thinking. The shit you always pull, I'm not even surprised.'
'I am not overthinking!'
She crossed her arms, fed up with this habit of assuming everything. She'd thought after this two years I'd be different, 'Then go read his mind then.'
'I don't need my power to figure this one out.' I chuckled under my breath, 'Did you see the way she was touching his thighs when Vanya was talking about her amnesia? Oh my g-'
Allison puckered her lips, nervously smiling but she wasn't smiling at me. 'Oh hey Diego! Long time no see brother!'
I glared at Allison before I turned around and flashed a fake smile towards Diego, I was definitely going to run my mouth about this after this encounter was over.
'Hey Allison. Congrats on your marriage.' Diego smiled sweetly, the same smile I loved for as long as I can remember.
'Thanks, thanks. Excuse me while I go talk to Luther.' Great, not only did she not warn me about Diego coming by but she left me alone with him as well.
It wasn't just me that felt the awkward tension between us because Diego was acting very strange too. 'I see you grew your beard.'
'Yeah, figured I'd do something different.' He breathed, looking at me up and down. 'You look really great Y/N.'
'Why are you telling me this?' I didn't mean to blurt it out, my stupid thoughts just came out of my mouth without me even thinking.
Diego just scratched his head, not knowing what to say after that. 'Because you do, why else would I say it?'
'Well, you need to stop.' I bit my lips as I walked out of the small apartment, making my way down the alley.
'Why are you acting like this?' He followed me. Man, I wish he didn't. Diego just made things even harder for me. 'I thought you'd be happy to see me.'
'I thought so too but-' I stopped myself, knowing that whatever came out of my mouth would definitely change everything. I couldn't do this to myself or to Diego.
'But what Y/N?'
'Nothing. I'll see you at the next meeting.'
'Wait-wait!' Diego caught my hand before I walked off, 'I've searched through this whole city looking for you. The least you can do is owe me an explanation.'
Immediately, I pulled my hand away. If I stayed here more with him I knew that I'd either get pissed off or I'd start crying. Either way, I didn't want Diego to witness that I care about all of this.
'I think the person who owes an explanation is you, Diego.'
Diego’s pov;
My brows furrowed, confused about what Y/N was going on about. What did I need to explain to her that made her to hate me so much?
Was she mad that I've beaten someone up without thinking of my consequences? Y/N used lecture me about controlling my emotions but there was no way she'd know about the reason why I got sent to an institution. Unless Five told her, of course.
But would she be this angry was the question. The way she reacted when I came to talk to her was as if I did something to upset her personally.
Then it suddenly hit me; the possible reason why Y/N was pissed off at me. The typical assumption and overthinking shit she pulled even back when we were in our old timeline.
I couldn't help but laugh, the way Y/N was eyeing me down as if she wanted to slit my throat. It was sort of kind of cute in a way, she really loved me that much to get this jealous over Lila.
'What the hell are you laughing about?'
'You're fucking adorable.' I continued to laugh, holding onto my stomach. 'You know there's nothing going on between me and Lila, right?'
Y/N's shoulders dropped as the tension in her muscles relaxed. She even had a slight, very slight smile on her face. I knew I hit bullseye the way she bit her lips and how her eyes wandered.
'Yeah, that's what I thought.'
'Shut up!' She playfully hit me on my arm, not going to lie it did hurt a little. 'Diego, I-you had me all confused... uhm wow I feel stupid.'
I pulled Y/N in for a hug, kissing her forehead and rubbing her back. 'For a mind reader, you sure assume the stupidest stuff.'
She hugged me back tightly and mumbled under her breath. 'I know, I know. When it comes to you, I go crazy.'
'It's okay, baby. We all have our moments.'
Y/N looked up at me, cupping my cheek and gently ran her finger like she used to do all the time. 'I'm so sorry, Diego. I spent these past two years looking everywhere for you and when I saw-'
'Sh, sh.' I licked my lips and stared at her eyes, it was hard to believe that she waited for me for two years. 'None of that matters anymore. We're both here now.'
A smiled formed on her face as she pulled me in for a kiss. This was a better reunion than I imagined, despite the complication we had a few minutes back. With all of this, I appreciated Y/N more and I was definitely glad that we've found each other again.
'I love you.' Words escaped my mouth as we both pulled away. 'Don't forget that.'
She kissed me again, running her fingers through my hair. 'I love you too, Diego.'
'Mhmm.' I said as I smirked, 'You know it's kind of hot when you're all angry and jealous for me.'
Y/N rolled her eyes, 'Too soon buddy. And that's not funny.'

AU where Barry joins THBs and Lup is the Red Robe.
Barry keeps his mouth shut in Phandalin. Instead of running his mouth he stands paralyzed in terror, and Taako’s the one who drags him along to the well. The umbrastaff ends up getting dropped in the escapade, left to be destroyed with the rest of Phandalin.
Lup reforms and barely manages to keep herself together until she realizes that Barry isn’t here. If he died in the fire his lich form would be here, and it wasn’t, so the rest of her family had to survive too. She finds his cave, reads through his notes and plans and slowly figures out what’s going on, finds out what his plan is.
She can’t regrow her body. Barry’s is still in there, and so she’ll just have to wait.
Barry’s coin told him to never go to the moon. It told him that he was better off dying than staying there.  He didn’t get that at first, and even though he was on the moon now he understood it even less. He liked the people here. They made the hole in his chest feel a little less cavernous. He didn’t particularly want to leave them, and he certainly didn’t want to die.
So he ignores that particular piece of advice. He does his best as a reclaimer, although he’s not very good at it. He doesn’t really have a specialty. He tried to be a fighter, but it didn’t come naturally to him. He finds himself watching Taako’s magic with jealousy and intrigue. He’d never managed to learn the arcane arts before though, so he didn’t see how he could at his age.
At least, until he started looking into the warlock brand of magic. It fits well, the clumsy fighting he’d picked up meshing with the powerful shocks of arcane energy.
Lup sees her brother, her husband, and two of her best friends in the office of a man she just killed. She did it to protect them, but there’s fear on their faces. They don’t know who she is, they don’t remember her. The thought alone is almost enough to break her, but she forces herself to keep it together. Tells herself she can fix this.
“Please, don’t be afraid. I’m not here to hurt you,” she pleads, and is surprised despite herself when it works. When they’re willing to listen to her. She makes illusions of the people who’ve fallen to the grand relics as she speaks, pain and guilt in her voice.
“This want, this hunger, it’s not the true nature of man. We can stop it. There’s so much you don’t know, so much you don’t remember. Be careful of who you trust. This is your first lesson,” she says. They look confused, but she sees the way Barry’s eyes light up when she brings up lost memories. She doesn’t stick around to talk to him about it, she can’t.
Barry is fascinated by the Red Robe. Lucretia warns about trusting her, insisting she’s evil, that she’ll lie and do whatever it takes to trick them. But Barry knows there’s parts of his life that he’s forgetting. He knows hearing her voice makes his heart sing, and he saw the way it almost brought tears to Taako’s eyes the first time she spoke. There’s something missing, but he can’t piece it together.
She tries to explain more in Lucas’s lab, and Barry tries his best to listen, to make sense of it all. No matter what he does though there’s this block. He can’t ask her directly, he knows Lucretia would never allow it. There’s more important things to worry about in the immediate moment too, what with the grim reaper trying to arrest them. Barry can’t even understand all the crimes that are lobbied at him. None of this makes any sense, and he comes so close to dying so many times that night.
Lup waits for them outside Refuge, terrified of what they might change. When they finally get out, they tell her they refused the relic. When she asks if they trust her, she’s met with silence. The most important people in her life, the only ones keeping her who she is, stare at her with distrust and uncertainty. She falls to her knees, clutching her head and struggling to keep it together.
“Taako, Barry, I don’t know what to do,” she says, and she doesn’t expect an answer from them, not really. She certainly doesn’t expect Barry to kneel down in front of her, holding out a hesitant hand to help her up.
“It’s not that we don’t trust you, it’s just... there’s still a lot we don’t know,” he says, and Lup reaches to take his hand, only managing to stop herself at the last minute. She knows that if she did, she wouldn’t be able to make herself let go, and they can’t yet. Instead she forces herself to take a breath, floating up again with as much poise as she can muster.
“I understand. There’s so much I want you all to know, but all I can say for certain is that the hunger is almost here. The next time we meet, I’m going to need you to trust me,” she says, forcing herself to leave before she says too much.
Barry hates Wonderland. It stirs something visceral in his gut, necromantic energies eating away at him from the inside out. The liches are playing with him, he can tell. There’s something about him that they find amusing, and each time he makes that black smog appear it feels like a loss. He doesn’t want to die in Wonderland, but he doesn’t want to play by these damn liches games any more either.
Ever since they entered the place, there’d been a feeling. This one was much more pleasant. It was just a force against his hand, holding it. Squeezing on occasion in clear sympathy, never letting go. Barry held back just as tight, even if it felt like it hampered his fighting some. Not that it seemed to matter, the other three boys were taking a much worse beating than him, and he didn’t know why either.
Then they go into the healing game. He’s doing the best out of the four of them, while Taako is on death’s door. Barry starts by giving some of his life force to Magnus, and then to Merle. When he looks at Taako last, he sees the moment his best friend realizes what he’s about to do. Hears him start to shout at him to not be a dumbass, but it’s too late, he’s already pushed the button. He’s done playing by these liches’s rules. If they wanted to keep him alive, tough luck.
Lup’s heart hurts watching her family go through this torment. She finally gives in, holding Barry’s hand throughout the process, unable to bring herself to let go. Even when he falls during the healing game, she doesn’t let go. She doesn’t need to. His body crumples but she’s there, holding his lich form as the memories come rushing back to him.
She hates seeing him die, but she’s overjoyed when he finally looks at her with recognition. When he actually calls her by name. Suddenly they’re both laughing, and the whole display brings forth the heads of Wonderland.
It’s not hard to bring them down with her family at her side.
She’s sure they’ll be able to take down the hunger the same way, together.
