The Things You Give Pt. 34
We're almost to the end!! I'm so excited to share this chapter with you and all I've got to say is...muahahahaha!
I also want to apologize for the lack of posting on here. I've lost motivation these last year. We've gone through a lot personally but I really want to finish this and boy and boy am I glad I did! The motivation came back today as I put on That 70's Show and it feels soooo good! I'm probably going to let out a few more chapters at most because this story has gotten a lot longer than it was supposed to. But I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think <3
Tumblr media
Y/n was panting and struggling to breathe properly as the contractions came on.
“Oh, my God. What should we do?” Jackie asked, almost panicking.
“We need to get her to the hospital!” Markus cried out and turned towards the stairs, suspecting that’s where Kitty or Red may be. “Mr. and Mrs. Forman?! We could really use your help!” A beat passed and he turned to his girlfriend. “Go find one of them. Now. And tell them Y/n is in labor.”
Jackie nodded and ran into the kitchen, calling for Kitty and Red.
Markus whipped back to Y/n who was struggling to breathe from the pain. “Y/n, breathe. It’s going to be okay.”
“I…want…Steven!” Y/n panted as she could barley form words.
“Here, hold on to my han—AAHHH!” Markus screamed as Y/n crushed his hand with hers. “Thank God we’re going to the hospital, right?” He chuckled through the pain. “Jackie! Where are you?!”
“Here!” she called, walking out from the kitchen with Kitty in tow.
“Y/n, honey, what’s going on?” Kitty asked, concerned.
“Her water broke and the contractions are already starting,” Markus explained as calmly as he could.
“Oh, my God, the babies are coming—Red!” Kitty called excitedly. “It’s time!”
“What?” Red asked as he stomped down the stairs, annoyed. “What are you yelling—Y/n, are you okay?”
“Red, she’s in labor!” Kitty explained. “Everyone, get in the car!”
“I’ll stay here and call Steven,” Jackie offered.
“Number to the venue is on the—” Y/n was cut off as another contraction hit her. “Counter,” she strained.
“No, no, no you’re not staying here with your boyfriend,” Red said. “I barley trust you kids in my house when my kids are home; I definitely don’t trust you by yourselves.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Forman. I’m not staying. I’m going to go to the venue and see if I can catch them,” Markus said.
“How do I know you’re not just saying that?” Red asked, skeptically.
At that moment, Y/n led out a frustrated and pained scream. “Can we finish this conversation later?!”
“She’s right. Let’s go, Red,” Kitty said, grabbing Y/n’s arm and gently guided her out the door.
“I’ll go call Steven. Markus, go to the venue,” Jackie ordered.
“Aye, aye, Captain Hottie,” he smirked before grabbing his keys and walked out.
                                                        ---
“Okay, Y/n breathe,” Kitty instructed as Red drove like a madman to the hospital.
Y/n was doing deep breaths to try and steady the pain. “This is a big one!”
“I know, but you can do it!” Kitty encouraged.
“Is Steven going to make it?” she asked through breaths.
“Oh, I’m sure he is,” Kitty assured. “Jackie is on it. Remember what she did at the wedding?”
Y/n nodded as the pain finally started to subside. “Yeah, she was awesome.” A beat passed before she spoke up again. “Don’t tell her I said that.” Pulsating pain came on as her stomach felt rock hard. “Here comes another one.”
“We’re almost there, honey,” Kitty said, rubbing her shoulder. “Red, step on it!”
                                               Meanwhile…
Loud rock music filled the air at the venue as the group jammed out from the crowd.
“This is the greatest day of my life!” Kelso shouted at his friends.
“Agreed!” Donna replied as Immigrant Song started.
“Hell yeah!” Eric whooped as he lit up a lighter.
“Play that funky music white boys!” Fez shouted excitedly.
Everyone was having the greatest time, except for Hyde. He would occasionally whoop and holler, but the thought of Y/n being home while he was out having fun didn't sit right with him. It wasn’t until the song ended and the band moved onto the next that he nudged Fez, getting his attention.
“Hey, man, I’ll be right back.”
“Sure!” Fez said, barley paying attention.
Hyde rolled his eyes at his friend before leaving the arena and walking to the recession stand.
“Hi, how can I help you?” the young blonde woman asked as he approached her.
“Can I use your phone?”
“Absolutely,” she chirped and brought the phone out from beside the register. “Just dial 9 first.”
“Thanks,” he muttered and dialed the house number. It rang three times before someone picked up.
“Hello? Steven?”
“Jackie?” Hyde asked, scrunching his face. “What’re you doing at the house? Where’s Y/n?”
“Markus and I came over to be with Y/n to keep her company while you guys were gone,” she explained.
“Oh. Well, where is she? I want to talk to her.”
“Yeah…sorry, you can’t.”
“What? Why?”
“Because she isn’t here,” she replied.
Steven sighed, starting to feel irritated. “Where is she then?”
“At the hospital.”
“What?!” he almost yelled. “Why didn’t you lead with that? Is she in labor?!”
“Yes, she’s on the way. I stayed behind in case you called. If you leave now you might be able to meet her there.”
The phone almost slipped out his hand. “Oh, my God…”
“Steven…are you okay?”
“I’m on my way. Tell her to try to not have the babies until I get there!” He hung up the phone before she could answer and ran back into the arena where his friends were.
“Hey, man, where’d you go?” Eric asked while keeping his eye on the band.
“Y/n’s in labor!” Steven shouted.
Eric snapped his head towards his friend with wide eyes. “WHAT?!”
“Yeah, man, we gotta go!”
“Yeah, okay,” Eric said, nodding frantically and turned to Donna. “We gotta go!”
“What? Why?” she asked, smiling and hooting.
“Because Y/n is in labor!”
Her smile quickly disappeared as her attention snapped from the band to her boyfriend and friend. “WHAT?!”
“We’ve gotta go! She’s on her way to the hospital right now!” Hyde said.
“Right, okay,” Donna said, almost in a panic and turned to the boys. “Guys, Y/n’s in labor!”
“What?” Kelso shouted back. “Y/n’s the neighbor?”
“No, you dunce! Y/n’s in labor!” she repeated.
“Y/n’s the greater?” Kelso asked, even more confused. “Speak English, Donna, you’re not making any sense.”
“Y/N IS IN LABOR, YOU FOOL!” Fez screamed.
“Oh, my God!” Kelso shouted.
“Yeah, so we need to go,” Donna responded and grabbed him by the elbow.
“Wait, we’re all gonna go?” he questioned and dug his heels into the ground. “What about the concert?”
“Forget the concert, man, my wife is in labor!”
“Why? She’s not my wife,” Kelso argued.
Hyde’s jaw clenched and his fists balled up, dying to hit Kelso. “You know what? I don’t have time for this. If you want to stay, fine, but I’m leaving your ass here and you can find a ride home.”
Kelso laughed. “You’re not going to do that.”
“You wanna bet?”
“But they’re in the middle of a song!” he whined.
“You wanna walk home?” Hyde threatened.
Kelso groaned before stomping his foot. “Fine!”
                                                        ∞∞∞
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde,” Dr. Lee said, pulling back the privacy curtain as Y/n laid in the hospital bed. “You’re dilated two centimeters. Now this is your first childbirth so you could be here a while. We’ll keep monitoring you.”
“Thank you, Doctor,” Y/n said. “Can I have something to drink?”
“Just ice chips,” the doctor said with a sympathetic smile.
“Okay,” she sighed, disappointed.
“I’ll be back in a little while to check on you,” she said and exited the room.
“Well, this could take a while,” Kitty said and started fluffing Y/n’s pillow. “Did you want some ice chips?”
“That would be nice,” Y/n responded. “Thank you.”
“Of course. Red stay here with her while I go get her ice chips.”
“Where else am I gonna go?” Red asked with a shrug of his shoulders. Once Kitty left the room, it was silent.
“So,” Red said, breaking the silence and sighed awkwardly. “Do the contractions really hurt as much as they say?”
Y/n stared up at her father with a confused and bewildered look. “I don’t know. Have someone kick your boys multiple times and harder each time and then come back and tell me.”
Red couldn’t help but chuckle. After another minute of silence, Y/n spoke up.
“Dad?”
“Mhm?”
“Were you scared when Mom went into labor?”
A small smile graced his lips and he nodded. “Yeah, I was. But let me tell you the moment I held you and your brother in my arms, that fear melted away.”
“So, the minute I hold my children, my fears are going to melt away forever?”
“Oh, hell no,” Red chuckled, shaking his head. “The fear never goes away. Everyday a new fear will strike in you and you’re going to have to find some way to battle that one among the others. It’s a never ending cycle.”
“Oh my God…how do you sleep at night?”
“I just close my eyes,” he quips and rocks on his heels. “But your mother…not so much. She worries for you guys constantly.”
Y/n looked down at her hands. “I didn’t know that.”
“Of course you didn’t. The last thing she wants is to make you guys worry because all she wants is for you to worry about yourselves.”
“But that’s not how that works,” she argued. “We’re a family we do that for each other.”
“Not in a parent’s eyes,” he responded cooly and started heading out the door. “I’m going to call your idiot brother and see if he’s at the house.”
Y/n nodded at him as he walked out the door. As soon as the door clicked shut, another contraction shot through her, catching her breath in her throat. She breathed through the pain, and what felt like minutes but only seconds, it subsided as soon as Kitty walked back through the door.
“Here you go, dear,” Kitty said.
“Thanks, Mom,” Y/n replied breathlessly as her head fell back against the pillow.
                                                --Meanwhile--
“Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, COME ON!” Hyde shouted as he dodged traffic and weaved through traffic like a madman.
“Hyde, slow down!” Eric tried to hide his panic as he white knuckled the door handle and middle console. “I know we’re going to the hospital anyway, but let’s try to get there alive!”
“Have you guys ever noticed people in this town drive so damn SLOW?!” He honked his horn impatiently. “Move over, Grandma!”
“Hyde, please, I don’t want to die,” Fez whined from the back as he clutched the back door and Kelso’s arm.
“Shut up, Fez,” Hyde snapped as he desperately hit the gas more. “DAMN IT!” he shouted when he hit a red light.
“Hyde, man, it’s alright. You’re going to make it in time,” Eric said, trying to calm him down.
“No, Forman, it’s not going to be alright if I’m not there!” he raised his voice and punched the gas as soon as the light turned green.
“Don’t worry, you’re going to make it,” Donna said.
“No, you guys don’t get it,” Hyde replied, forcing himself to stay calm. “My dad wasn’t there when I was born and I’ll be damned if I do the same to my kids.”
“You’re not your dad, man…” Kelso said quietly.
“You’re right I’m not,” Hyde responded, staring intently at the road. “I’m going to be better.”
“And you are, but you need to—RED LIGHT!” Eric shouted as Hyde sped through.
“Relax, it’s not like we hit anybody,” Hyde said, hard gaze on the road.
“Um, Hyde?” Fez piped up, looking out the back window nervously.
“You’re going to kill us!” Eric screeched.
“No, I’m not!”
“Hyde?” Fez said again, this time a little louder.
“It’s going to be no use if we don’t make it alive!” Eric shouted.
“Will you lay off?!” Hyde shouted back, white knuckling the steering wheel. “We’re going to be fine.”
“HYDE!” Fez shouted sharply.
“What?!” Hyde snapped.
“Um…” he responded by pointing out the back window.
Hyde followed his line of sight and saw blue and red flashing behind them. “Crap.”
                                                --Time Skip—
Y/n was doing deep breathing exercises as another contraction waved through her. At this point, sweat had formed on her hairline while her hair had been pulled back into a messy ponytail by Kitty.
The pain radiated through her back down to her legs as she felt like daggers were racing through her bloodstream.
“Just keep breathing, honey, you’re doing great!” Kitty encouraged as Y/n struggled to keep breathing. She held her daughter’s hand as Y/n squeezed it through the pain.
“It...hurts…!” she whined as she breathed through the pain.
“I know, honey, but it’s going to be so worth it when you get to hold your babies for the first time,” Kitty cooed.
Finally, the contraction ended and Y/n laid her head back in exhaustion, panting. “Has anyone heard from Steven?”
“When I called the house, your little loud friend answered and said she had spoken to him and he was on the way,” Red answered and checked his watch. “But then again, that was almost two and half hours ago.”
“The concert was only forty-five minutes away,” Y/n pointed out. “An hour and a half at most with traffic.” She was silent for a moment, fighting back tears. “I knew he cared more about the stupid concert than me.”
“Oh, honey, you know that’s not true,” Kitty said, rubbing her daughter’s covered leg in comfort.
“No, it is, otherwise he would be here!” she wailed, tears running down her face. “I’m about to push two babies out of me and he’s not here! I’ve never been in so much pain in my entire life and I just want my husband!”
“I know, sweetie, I know, but he’ll be here,” Kitty reassured and walked over to her husband. “Can I talk to you outside?”
“About what?” he asked.
“Just get outside,” she responded and pushed him out. After she shut the door, she turned back to him. “You need to find him.”
“Why? I’m sure he’s on the way,” Red said casually and walked over to the nearest coffee station.
“The last time a big event happened, Steven almost didn’t make it!” she said harshly. “He was in jail, Red, jail!”
“What do you want me to do about it?”
“Go back to the house and find him!”
“Kitty, if he’s not here, he’s not going to be at the house,” he pointed out, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“What if he stopped by the house?”
“Now, why would he do that?”
“I don’t know, why did the boy go to a concert when he knows his wife’s about to pop? We’ll never know why the kids do what they do, but what I know for sure is that something is wrong!”
“Oh, Kitty, come on!” Red whined. “I’m sure Steven is fine. He’s probably stuck in traffic or something.”
                                       --Scene Transition—
“Officer, I’m telling you, I’m not drunk!” Hyde yelled.
The scene in front of him would’ve been quite comedic if he hadn’t been the one in the position. He was leaned forward on the hood with his hands splayed out and legs spread as he was being searched.
“With the way you were driving, I beg to differ,” the officer replied as he carefully searched Hyde.
“The breathalyzer said I wasn’t!” he argued. “Why are you still searching me? I need to get to the hospital! My wife is in labor!”
“Yeah, I haven’t heard that one before,” the cop scoffed as he stood.
“Man, I’m serious! If you follow me, I’ll show you I’m telling the truth!”
“I’m not falling for that one again.”
“What? No, man, I’m serious!”
“You know everything you say can and will be held against you in the court of law,” the officer said.
“Okay, well then get this on record: I. NEED. TO. GET. TO. MY. WIFE. She is in labor and I really need to be there!”
“Shut up or else I will arrest you.”
Steven sighed, frustrated. “For God’s sake.”
While this was happening, the rest of the crew sat silently and rigid in the car. They felt with one wrong move, they would be arrested.
“Do you think he’s going to be let go?” Fez asked.
“If he shuts up and lets the man do his job, the maybe,” Kelso said.
“Hey, wait, you used to be a cop,” Eric pointed out. “Can’t you do something?”
“I doubt it,” Kelso responded, not taking his eyes off the cop. “As long as Hyde shuts up, he should be fine.”
“I hope you’re right. It would be awful if he missed the birth of his children like how he almost his own wedding,” Donna said, staring at Hyde as he stood still as a statue.
“Yeah, that would be,” Kelso mumbled.
Meanwhile outside, Hyde was ready to jump out of skin as he waited for the cop to finish up the report. The cop purposely was taking his time which made Hyde want to twist his neck even more.
“Can I go now?” he asked.
“I need to still check the car.”
“You checked it twice!”
“Once more never killed anybody.”
“Come on!” Hyde shouted as he watched the cop reach into the glove compartment to grab some gloves. “I’ve done everything you asked and you’re still going to hold me here? What more do you want?”
“I just love watching people like you squirm,” the cop said smugly as he snapped on the latex gloves.
“People like me? Man, I’m telling the truth!” Hyde shouted. “I’m not drunk and I’m not high! There’s nothing in my car! I don’t know what the hell you’re looking for, but you’re not going to find it!”
The cop smirked. “We’ll see about that.”
A car rumbled by across the street before it stopped and parked. Steven eyed the cop as he watched him kick his friends out and search the car again.
“Steven?!”
Hyde’s head snapped to the sound of his name and watched as Red crossed the street towards him.
“Red?” Hyde called out. “What’re you doing here?”
“What am I doing here? What are you doing here?!” Red asked, now feeling frustrated. “Do you know Kitty made me leave the hospital to drive back home to find you, only to find out that you’ve been pulled over the side of the road?!” He stood directly in front of Steven as he also watched the cop search the car. “Why were you pulled over this time?”
“Speeding.”
“And he’s searching the car because...?”
“He’s sure I’m under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
Red pinched his eyebrows together and looked at Steven. “Were you breathalyzed?”
“Yes.”
“And searched?”
“Three times.”
“You don’t got that dope on you, do you?”
Steven rubbed his forehead, trying to control his irritation. “No.”
“Then why are you still here?!”
“That’s a good question. Ask the man in blue.”
Without hesitation, Red darted towards the police officer. “Hey, buddy! What the hell are you doing?!”
“Sir, I’m going to need you to back up while I conduct my search—”
“To hell with your damn search!” Red yelled. “You found nothing, now let him go! His wife, my daughter, is at the hospital about to give birth!”
“Oh, now he’s got you covering him?” the cops asked smugly. “I’m not buying it and this can be held against you—”
“Do I need to call Chief Calvin?” Red interrupted with fire in his eyes. “Do I need to tell him that you are looking to book my son-in-law?”
“How do you know—?”
“I’ve got
“You can if you want,” the cop said. “I’m just doing my job.”
“No, you’re not. You’re being a prick who is on a power trip. I’ll tell you what, you give him the speeding ticket and I won’t report your ass to the chief for trying to find false evidence.”
An annoyed, angry look crossed over the officer’s face before he snapped off his gloves. “Fine.”
“Thank you, officer,” Red said sickly sweet.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” he mumbled as he walked back to the cop car.
Once the officer was out of earshot, Hyde turned to Red. “You really know that Chief like that?”
“Please,” he scoffed. “I had you and my son to deal with. You didn’t think I wasn’t going to get to be on a first name basis with the P.D?”
                                             --Meanwhile—
“WHERE. IS. HE?!” Y/n screamed through contractions.
“I don’t know, sweetie. Your dad is out looking for him,” Kitty responded, wiping away sweat off her daughter’s forehead.
This caused Y/n to scream out more in frustration than in pain when another contraction hit. “SON OF A BITCH!”
A knock on the door barley made their attention when Dr. Lee popped in. “How are we doing?”
“I need drugs!” Y/n screamed.
“Let me see how dilated you are,” Dr. Lee responded and popped on some gloves. After she felt around, she came up from between Y/n’s legs and sighed contently. “4 centimeters—looks like you’re dilated enough.”
“Oh, thank God,” Y/n sighed and leaned her head back.
“You know, you do qualify for this new drug we have. It’s called an epidural anesthesia. It’s going to numb you from the waist down and you won’t be able to feel anything.”
“Do it.”
“You don’t want to hear the possible side--"
"Damn it, woman, do it!" Y/n cried out in discomfort. “It feels like these kids are going to rip me in half!”
Dr. Lee chuckled before nodding. “I’ll be right back with the anesthesiologist.”
“Wow, fancy,” Kitty said, impressed. “When I gave birth to all three of you, I didn’t get that special treatment.”
“Times have changed, Mom,” Y/n responded dully.
“Excuse me, miss grumpy pants,” Kitty sassed as she situated herself in the chair next to the bed.
“Sorry,” Y/n mumbled and stared at the ceiling in silence.
“He’ll make it,” Kitty said after a minute.
“I appreciate the sentiment, but I don’t know right now. He was arrested and almost didn’t make it to our wedding, so I’m not sure if he’ll make it here on time to witness the birth of his children.”
“Oh, Dear, that’s just the hormones talking. I know Steven is just anxious to be here.”
                                          --Meanwhile—
“For the love of GOD, people, move your asses!” Hyde yelled at the traffic ahead of him. “Why is it even this crowded? Where are all these people coming from?!”
“Um, probably from the concert,” Donna piped up.
“The whole town went to the concert?!”
“I mean, we’re not the only ones who listen to them, but whatever,” Eric mumbled.
Hyde ignored them as another growl bubbled up from his throat as traffic began to slow down again. “Friggin’ slow asses, move!” He honked his horn and swerved in the other lane to pass someone.
“That was a student driver,” Eric said.
“Yeah, and I felt the same way when I passed that old lady earlier—nothing,” Hyde retorted as he got off the highway. “Doesn’t matter anyway, we’re almost there.”
“Pretty sure at this rate we’ll be there in five minutes instead of twenty,” Fez said nervously, gripping the door handle with white knuckles.
“Yeah, I think I felt safer when we were pulled over,” Kelso said and quickly averted Hyde’s icy glare through the rearview mirror. “I’ll shut up now.”
“Good plan,” Hyde responded. “Now, hang onto your asses. This is going to be a fast ride.”
                                           --At the hospital—
“Hey, Mom, look,” Y/n said, calm and happy and pointed at the machine that was monitoring her contractions. “I’m having a contraction. Who knew?”
“Are you feeling better now that you got the epidural?” Kitty asked, relieved to see her daughter out of pain.
Y/n giggled. “It’s almost like—childbirth, who? Pushing out two babies, say what?”
Kitty smiled. “Glad to hear it, dear.”
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde, after checking your dilation, it looks like you’re now at eight centimeters,” Dr. Lee informed.
“Whoa, man, I’m so numb I didn’t even feel you down there,” Y/n chuckled.
“Y/n, honey, did you hear the doctor?” Kitty asked, grabbing her daughter’s hand. “You’re eight centimeters. There’s only two centimeters left until you need to start pushing.”
Y/n’s eyes bugged out at the sudden realization. “What?! But-but Steven isn’t here yet!”
“Unfortunately, that doesn’t matter to babies coming out of a womb,” Kitty explained gently.
“No, no, no they have to stay in there until he’s here!” Y/n panicked. “Damn it, I knew he shouldn’t have gone!”
Dr. Lee took this as her cue to leave. “I’ll be back later to check on you.”
After Dr. Lee left, Y/n turned to Kitty with tears in her eyes. “Mom, I can’t do this alone.”
“Oh, honey, you’re not going to be alone. I’ll be here.”
“You promise?”
Kitty smoothed down her daughter’s sweaty, matted hair. “Of course. I love you.”
“I love you, too.” She wrapped her arms around her mother as she felt an ounce of comfort. When she pulled away, she looked her in the eyes. “Just…don’t look at me. You know, down there.”
“Honey, I’m a nurse. I see this on a daily basis!” Kitty laughed. “And not to mention you, too, came out of me!”
“Ugh, God, MOM!”
                                                  Now…
“Finally! Land!” Eric bellowed as he stumbled out of the now parked car with wobbly legs. “Thank you, God, we’re alive!” He clutched his chest, breathing heavily, and looked up at the sky. “God, I know you and I don’t talk a lot, but thank you for not killing us.”
“Forman, get off the ground,” Hyde ordered. “You’re embarrassing me.”
“I’m just…so happy,” Eric whined, but kept his hand on his chest.
“Come on, hurry!” Red barked. “Those babies aren’t going to wait much longer for them to be born!”
“You’re right,” Hyde said and clapped a hand onto Red’s shoulder. “I’m gonna go have my babies!”
He heard the cheers coming from his friends behind him as he ran into the hospital, heart pounding from the adrenaline.
Eric turned to Donna after they watched their friend disappear into the hospital. “Hey, Donna?”
“Yeah, Eric?”
“Which arm hurts when you’re having a heart attack?”
“Your left one.”
“Oh,” he sighed and cracked a nervous smile. “It’s a good thing we’re at a hospital, huh?”
                                  --Five minutes later—
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde, looks like you’re at ten centimeters,” Dr. Lee said., situating herself between Y/n's legs that were up in the stirrups. “It’s time to start pushing. Are you feeling any pain?”
Y/n shook her head nervously. “Just a lot of pressure.”
“Good. Are you ready?”
Y/n grabbed her mother’s hand as Kitty helped her sit up. “You got this, honey.”
“And…push!” the doctor said, but was quickly interrupted as the door swung open, startling her.
“I’m here! I’m so sorry, but I’m here!” Steven said, out of breath.
“Steven, you’re here!” Y/n said, relief flooding over her, which soon was quickly replaced with anger. “Where the HELL have you been?!”
“I’m so sorry, Doll,” he said and kissed her forehead. “It’s a long story, but traffic was horrible and then I got pulled over until Red found me—”
“What?!” Y/n shouted.
“Mr. Hyde, I’m so glad that you’re able to join us, but Mrs. Hyde is going to have to start pushing now,” said Dr. Lee.
“Oh, my God,” Hyde said nervously and slipped his hand into his wife’s. “You got this, baby.”
“Since you’re here, I’ll let myself out,” Kitty said.
“Wait, no, Mom,” Y/n called out, stopping her. “Y-you don’t have to go. You can stay here if you want.”
Kitty gave her a gentle smile and kissed her cheek. “Sweet girl. It’s okay, you don’t need me.”
“I’ll always need you,” her voice cracked and eyes filled with tears. “Mommy, I’m scared.”
“You’ll be just fine. In a moment like this, you need your husband, not your mother, who I am so glad is finally here. I’ll be right outside, okay?”
Y/n nodded and wiped at her eyes. “Okay.”
“Okay. Besides, I need to talk to your father and see what happened with Steven getting pulled over.” She blew a kiss to her daughter and son-in-law as she walked out the room.
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde, I need you to push for me like you’re using the toilet. Can you do that for me?”
Y/n sat herself up while still gripping onto Steven’s hand and pushed as hard as she could.
“Good job! I’m seeing a head!” the doctor announced.
“Come on, baby, you got this!” Hyde encouraged.
“Okay, now stop,” Dr. Lee ordered. “Breathe, take a ten second break. We’re going to do this slowly. We don’t want any tears.”
Y/n nodded once again and leaned back. She looked up to her husband who was staring down on her lovingly. “I’m glad you’re here.”
“Me too,” he responded. “I’m sorry I’m late.”
She caressed his face. “You’re here now. That’s all that matters.”
“Let’s start pushing again,” Dr. Lee said and placed her hands on Elena’s knees. “And…go!”
Elena sat up with Hyde’s help and started pushing again. Grunting, she felt pressure building up even more as if she really was using the toilet. “Oh, my God!”
“You’re doing it! Good girl!” the doctor encouraged.
“Breathe, baby doll, breathe,” Hyde said gently as he moved hair out of her face.
She let out long breaths to ease the pressure, but it wasn’t helping much.
“Oh, my God, my ass is going to explode!” she screamed.
“No, it’s not, you’re doing so well!” Hyde encouraged.
“Dad, I’m going to need you to hold her leg up for me,” instructed the doctor.
Without a word, Hyde reached down and placed a gentle under her knee, lifting it upwards.
“Much better,” said Dr. Lee. “You’re doing well, Y/n! Just keep pushing!”
Y/n squeezed Hyde’s hand so hard he swore she was going to cut off his fingers, but he didn’t care and in fact, almost completely forgot about it when he heard the doctor yell, “Baby number one’s head is out! Now, Y/n, I’m going to need you to give me one big push for the shoulders, okay?”
Y/n nodded, breathing heavily and leaned against her husband.
“You got this,” Hyde said in her ear as he supported her back.
She grunted and groaned as she pushed as hard as she could.
“Push, baby, push!” Hyde said, almost excitedly.
“Almost there!” Dr. Lee announced.
Y/n took in a deep breath before doing the biggest push she could muster.
“Shoulders are out!” said the doctor before she gently pulled the baby out.
                           And then, there was crying.
“Congratulations, it’s a boy!” announced the doctor.
“Oh, my God!” Y/n cried as she saw her son for the first time.
“It’s a boy,” Hyde said breathlessly. It took everything in him not to allow any tears surface.
“We have a boy, Steven,” Y/n wept as she watched the nurse take him from the doctor. “Where’d he go?”
“They’re just taking him to get him cleaned up,” Steven said, his eyes watery.
“He’s so tiny,” she whispered and looked up at Steven.
“He’s perfect,” he responded and kissed her gently.
“Y/n, it looks like baby number two is ready to come out,” Dr. Lee said.
“Ugh, I already had a baby. Leave me alone,” Y/n groaned. “Can’t I take a break?”
“Sorry, not with this little one. They’re coming sooner than you think!” answered the doctor and sat between her legs again. “Ready?”
“Not really…”
“Good, because they’re coming!”
Y/n didn’t get a chance to even breathe before she felt a tremendous amount of pressure passing through her. She gasped before grabbing onto Hyde’s neck and digging her nails into his flesh.
“Ow, ow, ow, Y/n, ow!”
“So-sorry,” she stuttered, breathless and let go.
“Here, grab my hand instead,” he said, offering his hand.
She grabbed his hand again and squeezed.
“Alright, Mr. Hyde, just like last time, go ahead and grab Mom’s leg and hold it up for me,” Dr. Lee instructed again.
He repeated the motion from before and gently lifted her leg up.
“Perfect,” Dr. Lee said, encouragingly. “Annnnd push!”
One more deep breathe and Y/n pushed harder than she had pushed before.
“Wait, wait, wait, stop pushing,” the doctor said suddenly.
“What, why?!” Y/n asked, panting.
Hyde step forward to take a look. “Oh, God! What the hell is that?!”
“Don’t say that! What is what?!” Y/n screeched.
“It’s the baby’s feet. They’re breeched,” the doctor said.
“Oh, my God. Are they going to be okay?!” Y/n asked, panicking.
“They’re going to be fine. But I’m going to need you to push even harder now.”
“No, I can’t! I can’t do this anymore.”
“Yes, you can,” Hyde said. “You’re stronger than you know. You always have been. You can do this, Y/n”
“No, no I can’t!” She turned back to the doctor. “Can’t you just reach up there and pull the baby out?!”
“Not unless you want a C-section, you’re going to need to do this,” said Dr. Lee.
Y/n leaned back, crying. “I can’t—I don’t have it in me!”
“Hey, hey, look at me,” Steven said, gently. She looked at her husband, teary eyed. “Just think—this baby will be out and then it’ll be over. You just gotta get through this, okay? You can bring our son or daughter and this will be over. Okay? I love you so much, you can do this.”
“I love you, too,” she whimpered and sat up.
“Push like you haven’t pooped in a week,” Dr. Lee instructed gently.
“It feels like I haven’t!” Y/n screamed as she felt the pressure rise.
“There we go!” the doctor said excitedly. “Both feet are out! Here come the legs!”
“You’re doing amazing, doll, keep going!” Hyde encouraged.
Y/n took another breath before pushing the hardest she could. She started to feel some relief from the pressure the more she pushed.
“Here she comes!” Dr. Lee announced.
Hyde’s gaze snapped to the doctor. “It’s a girl?!”
Dr. Lee looked back at him with a soft gaze and a smile. "Yeah, it's a girl."
“Oh, my God,” Hyde said, this time his voice cracking from emotion. “Baby, we have a daughter."
"One of each," Y/n choked back a sob.
"Give me one last big push!” said the doctor.
With a final push, the pressure finally alleviated and soon, the sound of a crying baby filled the room.
“Here she is!” the doctor held up the baby as she continued to cry.
“She’s beautiful,” Y/n said in awe, feeling emotional. She wept as she watched her daughter being taken away for cleanup.
“Just like her mom,” Hyde said teary eyed and looked at his wife. “You did great, Doll. I’m so proud of you.”
The adrenaline that was once pumping through Y/n’s veins was now fading and she could now start to feel the exhaustion take over. “I couldn’t have done this without you.” She reached a hand up and gently wiped a stray tear.
He leaned down and gave her a gentle, passionate kiss.
“Good job, Mom and Dad,” Dr. Lee said with a smile. “Mrs. Hyde, we’re just going to stitch you up—”
“Steven…” Y/n whimpered, her eyelids getting heavier. “’M tired. S’ tired.”
“Uh, doc? Is she supposed to be feeling this tired? She can’t keep her eyes opened—”
The heart rate monitors suddenly start screaming.
“Someone get the babies out of here!” Dr. Lee ordered. “Mr. Hyde, I’m going to need you to step out the room.”
“What’s going on?!” Hyde demanded and looked down to Y/n who was barley conscious.
“She’s hemorrhaging and it’s causing her blood pressure to drop. She’s going into shock.”
“What?!” Steven shouted as he started to be pushed out. “Wait! Wait! Y/n!”
Everything happened so fast, the last thing Hyde saw was his wife being surrounded by nurses and doctors as he was shoved out the room, and the door slammed in his face.

The Things You Give Part 33
Whooooooweeee it's be a very long time! I'm so sorry it took so long to write this! I've been having a hard time feeling motivated but it's past the New Years and I decided that I need to end this story shortly. Story isn't done quite yet, but there are only a few more chapters! I hope you all had a beautiful holiday season and New Years! I know I did. Enjoy the chapter!
Quick note: Danny Masterson has been imprisoned and now Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are under fire and now being cancelled apparently. Not a good start of the year for anyone.

June 1, 1979
Point Place, Wisconsin
Forman/Hyde Residence
Eric Forman’s Kitchen
“Hey, you two, how was your doctor’s appointment?” Kitty asked as she was stirring a hot pot of chili on the stove.
“Ugh,” Y/n groaned and plopped down on the chair at the table.
“The doctor says she can pop any day now,” Hyde answered for her and opened the fridge for a drink.
“Awe, sweetheart, you must be so uncomfortable,” Kitty said.
“I am. I’m so sick of being pregnant,” she whined. “I’m tired, my ankles are fat, my back hurts and—Steven! Will you please stop breathing down my neck?!”
“Uh,” he replied from the counter, no where close to her. “I’m over here.”
Y/n whined again. “I’m so sick of being pregnant.”
“The doctor said there are a couple things we can do to induce labor,” Steven said and pulled out a list. “She said we can try spicy foods, long walks, castor oil—”
“Don’t forget what she said could be more effective,” Y/n cut in.
Steven gave her a stoney look and put his hand on his hip. “I’m not saying that.”
“Why not? She’s a nurse she hears this stuff all the time! Besides, she’s gone through this as well!”
“What? Tell me what?” Kitty asked.
“No, I’m not saying it!”
“Steven!”
“Oh, for Pete’s sake, tell me what?!” Kitty cried out.
“The doctor said sex can be the most effective to induce labor,” Y/n blurted out.
“Y/n, what the hell?!” Steven said, embarrassed.
“Oh,” Kitty said lowly and dropped her gaze back to the chili, almost uninterested. “Okay.”
“Okay? That’s all you got to say?” Y/n asked.
“Honey, it’s pretty clear that you wouldn’t be pregnant if you and Steven hadn’t…you know…”
“Okay!” Steven interrupted. “As nice as this conversation is, I gotta get to work.”
“Okay, fine, but—Mom, cover your ears—we’re doing it later!” Y/n shouted after him as he slammed the door shut, hoping to drown out that last part.
“Well, isn’t that lovely,” Kitty mumbled and poured herself a cup of chili. “Y/n, on a more appropriate topic, do you want some chili?”
“Hey, guys,” Eric introduced himself as he entered the kitchen. “Great news! I’m on my way to becoming a teacher. I filled out all my college application with red pen.” He giggled to himself. “That’s a teacher joke.”
“Well, now look at him!” Red announced as he walked through the kitchen door. “Out of bed and productive before three o’ clock.”
“Honey, you’re like a marine!” Kitty said cheerfully.
“A marine?” Y/n asked. “The only time I ever saw him storm a beach was when he was running away from a jellyfish!”
“Damn, what did you have for breakfast this morning? Carnation Instant Bitch?” Eric quipped.
“If I could get up, I’d kick your ass for saying that,” Y/n threatened, sighing, and shifted uncomfortably in her seat, the pain in lower back starting to intensify.
“Yeah, anyway,” Eric said and turned back to Red. “Hey, dad, all I need from you now is a financial statement so the school can see where I'm getting the old moola.”
“Oh, well, you see about that…” Red mumbled, nervous. “I, uh...I spent your college money to keep the muffler shop going.”
“What?!” the twins shouted.
“You spent our college fund?!” Y/n continued.
“Why do you care?” Eric asked her. “It’s not like you’re going to college anytime soon. You don’t even know what you want to study.”
“Who says I don’t?” she asked. “I decided that I’m going to study biomedical engineering. Beat that, teach.”
“You’re going to study biomedical engineering?!” Kitty asked excitedly. “I knew you were going to take after me in the medical field!”
“Except the difference is she’ll be helping advance technology in the medical field instead of having to wipe people’s butts and administer them their IV’s,” Red said.
“Is that what you think I do all day?” Kitty asked, offended.
“Uh…” he whipped back to Y/n who was looking up at him with an amused smile. “Good job, kitten. I’m proud of you.”
“Thank you,” she responded. “It would mean more if we had our college money!”
“Dad, how are we supposed to pay for college?” Eric asked.
“Look, with this damn mild winter, nobody's muffler rusted,” Red said. “I tried to rust them. I even went out at night and sprinkled salt all over the streets!”
Kitty squinted at her husband. “Not my good kosher salt!”
Red looked at his wife with a deadpanned look and rolled his eyes. “Yes, Kitty, I sprinkled the streets of Point Place with your half-pound bag of salt.”
“Wait. Mom, you knew about this?” Eric asked. “And you just said, ‘Please, go ahead. Take my son's college money and use it on a muffler shop?’”
“No,” she responded. “I think your father asked me if I thought you two would amount to anything, and I said, ‘I really, really hope so.’ And then he said, ‘I'm spending the twins’ college money on my muffler shop.’ And then I made the best blueberry cobbler I have ever made."
“Man, that was good,” Y/n reminisced. “I remember that cobbler. I always wondered why, when I said it was so good, you said, ‘At least I can give you this,’ and started to cry.”
“So, the upshot is, I have absolutely no money for college,” Eric said and puckered his lips in deep thought. “Looks like I’m going to have to use that football scholarship that was offered to me.”
“Oh, Eric, we should go talk to Mr. Bray!” Y/n suggested.
“Our old guidance counselor?” he asked.
“Finding money for college is what high school guidance counselors do.”
“I don't know about Mr. Bray. I don't think he really liked me,” Eric said. “One time I told him I was being bullied, and he just said, ‘What'd you expect?’"
“I’ll go with you,” Y/n said. “Mr. Bray loved me…in almost entirely appropriate ways.”
“Yeah…we’ll go,” Eric said, a little concerned.
“Okay, now that we got all that settled, we should celebrate!” Kitty announced.
Y/n scoffed. “Sure. With what?”
                                             --Later that day—
“Hey, don’t forget about the Led Zepplin concert next Friday,” Eric reminded his friends as they all sat in the basement.
“How could I forget?” Hyde asked. “It was the greatest bribery I’ve ever had.”
Y/n rolled her eyes at them.
It didn’t go unnoticed by Hyde. “What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing," she sighed, eyeing the TV and rubbed her belly.
“No, no you don’t get to do that just because you’re pregnant,” he pushed. “I know you, what’s wrong?”
“Awe, Steven, that’s really sweet,” Jackie said and turned to Markus. “When he and I were together, he wouldn’t even be bothered to ask me what was wrong. It didn’t even faze him.”
“To be fair, you’re always bothered by something,” Hyde quipped. “It was something new every day. I stopped keeping up after a while.”
“I am not!” she argued and turned to Markus who gave her a look. “Okay, maybe I was, but I’ve changed! The other day, I walked by a shoe sale and wasn’t upset that they didn’t have this beautiful shoe in my size. See? Growth.”
“Sure,” Hyde mindlessly and turned back to his wife. “C’mon, what’s wrong?”
“I’d rather not talk about it in front of our friends,” she responded.
“So, you guys can make out in front of us, even get caught doing it, but expressing why you’re upset is where you draw the line?” Donna pointed out.
“Yeah, spill it!” Fez demanded.
Y/n paused before sighing through her nose. “I don’t think you should go.”
“What?!” Eric shouted.
“Why?!” Hyde asked, appalled. “Why don’t you want me to go?”
“Well, I could go into labor any day now and I’d hate for you to miss the birth of your children for a concert,” she explained calmly.
“Y/n, your due date is on Monday. The kids will be here a full five days before the concert. I think it’ll be okay.”
“What if they’re not here by then? They can be late, you know,” Y/n pointed out.
“Come on, don’t do this,” Hyde said. “Don’t make me choose.”
“I shouldn’t have to make you!” she burst out. “You should know what comes first! Not some stupid concert!”
That made the group audibly gasp.
“What?! What I say?!” she asked them.
“You take that back!” Eric said, his voice wobbly.
“Blasphemous!” Kelso shouted.
“How dare you?” Fez asked under his breath.
“Oh, come on you guys, you can’t be serious,” she said. “Are you telling me my giving birth isn’t as important as some band?”
Everyone was quiet for a minute, filling Y/n with rage.
“It’s Led Zepplin,” Fez said quietly.
“Seriously?!” Y/n screeched and stood up. “You’re all going to leave me here all alone?!”
“I’m not going to the concert,” Markus piped up. “I’ll be here for you.”
She turned to everyone else. “Thank you, Markus. Maybe if I have boys I can name one of them after you!”
This made Jackie gasp. “How dare you?! I thought we agreed on Jack or Jackie!”
“I agreed to nothing!” Y/n argued. “You just assume because you think everyone caters to you, but you can’t be bothered to return the favor! The person who helps me deserves the credit.”
“What--?! That is not true!” Jackie shouted.
Everyone around her scoffed.
“C’mon, Jackie,” Donna said, side-eyeing her.
Jackie spun around to her boyfriend. “Markus! Aren’t you going to say something?”
He shrugged. “Sorry, babe, I have to agree with Y/n on this one.”
“Oh, you are in so much trouble!” she screeched.
Y/n clapped her hands and stomped her foot, gaining their attention. “Guys! Really? I thought that after we’ve all been through, you would want to be there for the birth of your nieces or nephews.” She turned to Hyde. “Or your children.” When no one responded, Y/n scoffed, hurt. “You know, what? I don’t care what you guys do. Go to the concert. Have fun.”
She didn’t let them get another single word out before she quietly walked upstairs to her room.
Once the door slammed, Donna turned to the group. “You guys, I feel really bad.”
“Yeah…I’d be pissed too if I couldn’t go to the concert,” Kelso said casually, opening a popsicle.
“No, you moron! That’s not why she’s upset!” Hyde said, irritated.
“Well, what does she expect us to do?” Eric asked. “Those tickets were a lot and it’s not our fault that the concert falls around the same time of her due date.” When he caught Donna glaring at him, he shrugged his shoulders. “What?!”
“You’re an ass,” Donna said. “I don’t think I want to go anymore.”
“Oh, come on! You have to go,” her boyfriend said. “She may not even have the kids on the day of the concert. It would be such a waste if we didn’t go.”
“Wow, Eric,” Donna said bitterly. “You’re being incredibly insensitive.”
“Okay, let’s say the babies come before the concert. No harm, no foul, amiright?” Eric asked.
“That’s if Hyde wants to go,” Markus responded. “When my sister and her husband had my niece, they were up pretty much three days straight and the last thing they wanted to do was go to a noisy concert.”
“Well, I think she’s being a little dramatic and honestly—quite selfish,” Kelso said. Everyone turned to look at him, finding himself cringing when Hyde gave him a death glare. “What?! She is!”
“She has a point, Michael!” Jackie defended. “No matter how mean and unfair she was to me.”
“You’re telling me that we might miss her birth is an overreaction?” Donna questioned him.
Kelso nodded and shrugged. “Well…yeah!”
“Unbelievable,” Donna said curtly as Hyde slugged Kelso in the arm.
“Ow, Hyde! What the hell?!”
“Keep talking crap about my wife Kelso and you’re going home with more than a bruised arm,” he threatened.
“Damn, sorry I said anything,” Kelso whined while rubbing his sore shoulder.
“You should be,” Hyde said and made his way towards the stairs. “I’m going to go talk to her.”
He took two steps at a time as he followed his bride.
Tumblr media
Y/n laid there in bed, glaring at the ceiling. Scenarios of possibilities wouldn’t stop dancing in her head about the day she would give birth while her supposed loving husband was at a concert.
She felt a very wet sensation run down her leg. As she looked down, she noticed that her water had broken, and it wasn’t long until the pain of contractions came along.
“Steven!” she cried out in pain. “Steven, the babies are coming!”
“Oh, really?” he asked, barley looking up from putting his jacket on. “This is inconvenient. Can you wait until I get back from the concert?”
“What?!”
“Look, the babies are important, but…Led Zepplin,” he replied, stepping backwards towards the door. “Just hold those kids in for me! Love you, bye!”
Y/n sneered at the thought, but her mind continued to race.
Smoke, heavy bass, and body sweat filled the air as the group, minus Y/n, head banged their way through each song of Led Zepplin.
“Hey, Hyde, isn’t Y/n giving birth right now?” Donna shouted through the noise, wide smile on her face.
“Yeah, but this is more important!” he shouted back.
“Yeah, to hell with her!” Eric shouted. “Led Zepplin is way more important!”
“Yeah, she’ll be fine,” Steven said. “We can always have more kids that I’ll probably end up being there for the birth!”
Tears started to well in her eyes. “Jerks.”
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
“Y/n?” Steven asked as he poked his head through their shared bedroom door.
She quickly grabbed for her pregnancy book on the nightstand and pretended to be reading.
“Doll, can we talk?”
“About what?” she mumbled.
“You know what.”
“I think you made up your mind, so there’s no point,” she said, staring at the page.
“No, no that’s why I wanted to come up here,” he replied. “Look, I’m sorry, okay?”
“Don’t be.”
“Y/n, can you please look at me?” he asked her and took the book from her, only to see tear streaks down her face. “Awe, Doll…”
She couldn’t stifle her sobs anymore as she broke down. “You love Led Zepplin more than me!” She shoved her face into a pillow.
He didn’t know if he should laugh or groan. “Y/n, come on, you know that’s not true.”
“No, it is!” she continued to wail. “I’m going to go into labor and you’re not going to care!”
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, counting to ten. “You know that’s not true.”
“You won’t even help me go into labor!” she whined.
“I’m not going to sleep with you just so you can go into labor,” he deadpanned.
Y/n sat up and wiped at her face. “C’mon, Steven, I’m miserable here! The babies will be fine. It’s doctor recommended!”
“We haven’t even tried the others yet,” he said calmly.
Her face contorted again, fat tears rolling down her face. “You don’t find me attractive anymore!”
“I never said that!” Steven couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Then why won’t you make love to me?!”
“First, don’t say it like that ever again. And second: it has nothing to do with my finding you attractive.”
“Then what is it?” she wept.
“It’s…it’s nothing.”
This made her stop crying immediately and glare at him instead. He almost missed her crying. “What a load of crap!”
“C’mon, Y/n, don’t make me say it.”
“No, you’re gonna!” she demanded. “I want to know why you won’t have sex with your wife to help her go into labor!”
Steven tilted his head back at and stared at the ceiling. Closing his eyes, he groaned before looking back at her. “It’s weird, okay? I’m going to be doing you knowing that the babies are…right there. Knowing what’s going on.”
Y/n scrunched her eyebrows at him. “The babies are in my uterus, not in my, you know, hoo-ha.”
Steven found himself chucking at her euphonism. “What if I hurt them?”
“Like I just said, they’re farther up there than you can reach.”
“Ouch.”
She laughed and placed her hand on his arm. “Trust me, that’s something to be proud of.”
He laughed with her and kissed her.
“Let’s make a deal,” she said, catching his attention. “If I go into labor before the concert, by all means, go. But if I don’t by Friday—you don’t. What do you think?”
He tilted his head to the side, thinking before nodding. “Okay, let’s do it.”
“Okay, good,” she smiled at him as he leaned down to kiss her.
“How bout we try now?”
“Now you want to? Because of a concert?!”
“No, more so now I know I won’t hurt them or make it as weird.”
Y/n rolled her eyes. “You’re lucky I love you.”
He laid her down onto her back, hovering above her and gently smiled. “That I am.”
                                             That Following Monday…
“That’s right, still no babies!” Y/n announced as she and Steven walked into the kitchen after their doctor appointment. Everyone sat in the kitchen, hanging out and snacking. Kitty, Donna, and Jackie sat at the table while Eric, Fez, and Kelso sat at the counter munching on some pop-tarts. “Today’s my due date and I am nowhere near in labor! Gah! This sucks!”
She plopped down at the table, causing it to shift.
“Oh, honey, I know how you feel,” Kitty comforted. “When I was pregnant with Laurie, I wanted her out so bad I almost reached a hand up there and yanked her out myself!”
“That’s a great story, Mom. Can you tell that to me while you’re getting me some iced tea?” Y/n snapped.
Kitty glared at her daughter as she reluctantly got up and grabbed for the pitcher in the fridge.
“Damn, pregnancy doesn’t agree with you,” Jackie said. “The bitch hormone is being released.”
“You try carrying twins who won’t stop kicking me—and each other!” she responded as the glass was placed in front of her. “Thanks, Mom.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Kitty grumbled as she sat back down.
“Seriously, I’ll wake up in the middle of the night to one or both of the babies moving and kicking me. Have you ever had feet stuck in your ribcage? It’s a rude awakening. Literally.”
“Yeah, I feel your pain,” Hyde said. “Whenever you’re up, I’m up.”
“Oh, shove it!” Y/n spit. “You sleep like a damn log every night! You can be getting attacked while you’re dead asleep and barley stir!”
“No, I hear you. I just choose to stay still.”
“So, while I’m over here in uncomfortable, you’re snuggling your pillow just to avoid me?!”
Fez, Kelso, and Eric shifted their gazes to Hyde with amused smirks on their faces.
“You cuddle your pillow, Hyde?” Eric taunted.
“Shut up, Forman or I will suffocate you with said pillow.”
“But if you do, you won’t have a pillow to cuddle at night,” Fez continued.
“Shut up, Fez!”
“Y/n, have you tried any of the doctor’s suggestions?” Kitty asked.
“Yeah! Steven and I have done it like a dozen times since then,” she answered.
Kitty closed her eyes and rubbed her head. “Honey…have you tried anything else besides that?”
“No, not yet.”
“Well, why don’t you start with food? Let’s go out tonight.”
Y/n shrugged. “Yeah, let’s try that.”
“And the weather is supposed to be cooler tonight, we can go on that long walk,” Hyde said.
She sighed and rubbed her aching neck. “Yeah, that works.”
“There’s a good Indian restaurant that serves the spiciest curry downtown,” Kitty said. “Let’s go there.”
“Uh, do I have to go?” Eric piped up. “Last time I had anything spicy, I sat on the toilet for three days.”
“Ew,” Hyde said and turned to his wife. “Look, I’m going to go look for those specific teas the doc told me about. Do you want anything else?”
“Yeah, just about everything on that list,” she responded. “Get the castor oil, some hot peppers, pineapples—”
“Should I just get the whole store?” Hyde asked.
“Yes please.”
Hyde nodded and kissed her head. “I’ll be back.”
As soon as he walked out the door, Y/n stood. “Well, I’ve got to pee again. I swear these damn kids think that my bladder is a squeeze toy.”
“She’s got to have those kids any day now,” Donna said once Y/n had waddled out the kitchen.
“Yeah, it’s not like they’re trying,” said Kelso. “Hyde told me yesterday that she promised him that if she can give birth before Friday then he can go to the concert. Man, that must suck. Having an ol’ ball and chain telling you what to do.”
“Well, you’d never know since you’re too busy cheating on every girl you’ve ever dated,” Jackie snarked.
“Well, what do you say we make this interesting?” Kelso asked, ignoring Jackie’s comment.
“What do you mean?” Eric asked, tossing a Styrofoam football in the air.
“I’ll bet you ten bucks she has the babies tomorrow,” he responded with a wide smirk.
“You’re on!” Jackie said excitedly and reached for her purse.
“Guys, I don’t feel right about this,” Donna said. “It’s not cool to bet on when our friend will go into labor.”
“Ugh, Donna,” Y/n called as she waddled down the stairs. “That candle you gave me smells horrible. Next time, maybe try getting me a candle that doesn’t smell like nature took a dump and forgot to flush.”
“It’s the smell of a forest!” she defended.
“Have you ever been to the forest?” Y/n said. “It doesn’t smell like that.”
Before she could let Donna respond, she waddled back upstairs. Once the door closed, Donna turned back to the group, annoyance written all over her face. “Make it twenty.”
                                                    --Later—
“Guys, I got some great news from the guidance counselor!” Eric announced as he ran into the living room where his family and Donna were sitting, watching TV.
“Yeah? What is it?” Red asked, turning down the volume on the TV.
“There's this program where you go and teach in an impoverished area for a year, and then they pay for your college. So, I signed up.”
“Eric, that’s wonderful!” Kitty cheered.
“That’s awesome!” Y/n joined in.
“See? I knew spending your college money would work out for the best,” Red said, smugly. “You're welcome.”
“So, where’s this impoverished place that you’re going to?” Steven asked.
“Is it east Milwaukee? You know I made a wrong turn there once and I ended up in this awful neighborhood,” Kitty said and lowered her voice as if anyone outside the living room could hear her. “They were playing radios on street corners!”
Eric shook his head. “No, I’m not going to east Milwaukee.”
“So, where then?” Donna asked.
Eric laid his hands out, palms up in excitement. “Its Africa.”
“Africa?!” Everyone said in shock.
“Africa, Wisconsin?” Kitty asked hopefully.
“No, Kitty, the country,” Red answered.
“You’re going to teach in Africa?” Y/n asked, her heart breaking. “So, does that mean you’re not going to be here when the babies are born?”
“No, no, I’ll still be here,” Eric said. “I’ll be leaving in August.”
“Oh,” she responded. “H-how long will you be gone?”
“About a year.”
“A YEAR?!” All three women shouted.
“What’s the big deal?” Eric asked, eyebrows knitting in confusion.
“The big deal is you made this big decision without coming to me at all!” Donna shouted and stood from the couch and stormed out.
“See? Donna understands,” Kitty said while Eric sighed in defeat.
This isn’t how he was planning this go at all.
                                         --Later that evening--
“Joey?” Y/n asked her husband as they sat at the kitchen table, eating dinner.
Hyde shook his head. “Have a cousin named Joey. Last I heard he was being treated for VD and on his way to a halfway house.”
“Oookay,” Y/n said, going down the list of names in her book. “Victoria?”
“No.”
“Why not?!”
“Because my mom had a best friend named Victoria.” He paused to take a bite of his spicy food before going into deep thought. “Pretty sure at one point she was more than that.”
Y/n gave him a blank stared smile. “I’ll never be able to erase that image out of my mind.”
“How bout Jimmy?”
Y/n put down the book. “Why Jimmy?”
He shrugged and wiped his mouth with his napkin. “I’ve just always liked that name.”
She squinted her eyes at him. “Since when?”
“I don’t know, a few years maybe.”
“Or maybe because it’s the name of the guitarist in Led Zepplin?”
Hyde pretended to be shocked. “Is that where that’s from? Wow, what are the odds?”
Y/n rolled her eyes at him. “Keep thinking, genius.”
“Eleanor?” he suggested.
“I’m sorry, am I giving birth to a seventy-five-year-old?”
“What’s wrong with Eleanor?”
“I feel like I’d be giving birth to a Roosevelt. No, thank you.”
“We can call her Ellie for short,” he argued.
“Ellie Hyde?” she questioned.
“Let’s keep brainstorming,” he agreed and looked at her plate which she barely touched. “Why aren’t you eating your spicy curry? I added extra peppers for you.”
Y/n let out a sigh and put down her book. “It’s not working. Nothing is going to get these kids out.”
“You’ve barley taken a bite out of your food. Maybe if you eat half of it, you’ll actually go into labor.”
“If I eat anymore, I’ll be breathing out fire,” she deadpanned.
“Come on, it’s good. Try it,” he encouraged before taking a bite of her curry. It didn’t take long for the spices to set his mouth aflame. He started panting like a dog before desperately grabbing her glass of water and downing it like a man who hasn’t had water in days.
“Oh, my God,” he panted once the water was down. “How are you eating this?”
Y/n gave him an amused smile. “I’m about to push two human beings out of me, I think a hot mouth is the least of my worries.”
“Speaking of hot mouth, why don’t you and I go upstairs and try to get these babies here?” Hyde suggested, wiggling his eyebrows.
“C’mon, we’ve done it like a hundred times; clearly the babies aren’t coming,” she replied, defeated.
“You don’t know that,” he replied gently.
Y/n shook her head, defeated. “I guess these babies will come when they decide to.”
Steven looked at her before standing to his feet. “Come on. We’re going for a walk.”
                                            45 Minutes Later...
“I told you the walk wouldn’t work!” Y/n complained as they walked through the sliding door, picking out leaves and twigs from her hair.
“Well, it would’ve if you hadn’t tried to jump on me in the park!” Hyde argued as he looked down at the mud stains on his pants and shirt.
“I was trying to be romantic!”
“You’re trying to get these kids out of you so fast, you’re willing to knock us both over in a big puddle just for a quickie behind a bush!”
“How the hell was I supposed to know there was a deep mud puddle there?!” she yelled, prying her wet and muddy dress away from her thighs.
“Gee, I don’t know, maybe the fact that it RAINED earlier?” he yelled back.
“Ugh, you know what, I’m going to go shower. Don’t follow me!”
“What is going on?” Eric asked as he entered the kitchen with Donna. He took one look at the couple and started laughing. “What happened to you two?”
“Y/n thought it would be the perfect time to get romantic on a walk in the park to try to go into labor,” Steven replied, glaring at his wife who wasn’t even looking at him.
Eric scrunched up his nose at them. “Sorry I asked.”
“I’m going to go shower because the mud is started seal my butt cheeks together,” Y/n announced before waddling out the kitchen.
“Didn’t need to know that!” Eric cried out and turned back to Hyde. “So, are you guys going to keep trying?”
Hyde sighed frustratingly. “At this point, I don’t know. We’ve tried spicy foods, canola oil, sex…nothing is working. The long walk may have worked if she hadn’t cut it short.”
“Well, you know, maybe the babies will come tomorrow…or in a couple days…” Donna suggested and nonchalantly grabbed a soda from the fridge.
“I don’t know. I’m starting to think these kids are going to come closer to the concert and I just got to accept the fact that I’m not going to be able to make it.”
“What?! No, Hyde don’t say that,” Eric said. “You’re going to be able to have those babies and still go to the concert.”
“You know, Hyde, maybe you’re not doing this right,” Donna said and sat at the table. “Maybe, the babies will come tomorrow or Wednesday…”
Hyde squinted his eyes at her. “Why? Why tomorrow or Wednesday?”
She shook her head. “No reason!”
Hyde rolled his eyes. “Fine, whatever. I’m going to shower as well. We’ll try again tomorrow.”
Once he was out of earshot, Eric turned to Donna.
“Way to almost blow our cover!”
                                                         ---
Tuesday came and go with Y/n getting more miserable by the minute.
“It’s Tuesday night, she can still have the baby tonight!” Jackie argued.
“You had until 8pm. You can’t bend the rules now. Now pay up!” Donna chortled and held out her hand.
“Fine!” Jackie screeched and reached into her purse. “Here’s your stupid twenty bucks!”
“Thank you,” Donna said smugly and fanned her face with the two tens.
“Okay, double or nothing she has them by tomorrow,” Jackie said.
“I bet she’ll have them by Thursday,” Kelso said.
“I bet you’re all wrong,” Eric said. “I want to say she’ll have them by Sunday.”
“And I bet she’s losing six friends,” Markus piped up, disgusted at their behavior.
“Five,” Eric corrected. “She can’t lose me. I’m her brother after all.”
“I don’t think that’s going to make a difference,” Markus said.
“Markus, baby, shush,” Jackie said, tapping his leg. “We’re just having a little fun.”
“Fun?” he questioned. “You’re betting on your friend’s pain and misery! I don’t think she would classify this as fun.”
“She would if it was any one of us,” Eric pointed out.
“Only with you,” Donna chuckled. “She’s fine with the rest of us.” She looked up to Kelso who was mindlessly sucking on a popsicle. “Well, maybe Kelso too.”
He looked down at her, frowning, pausing with the popsicle still in his mouth. “Why me?”
“Because it’s so easy,” Fez added in, laughing. “Like you.”
                                                        ---
“That’s it, I give up!” Y/n said, exasperated three days later as she and her husband sat in the basement. “I’m done trying to get these kids to come out. They’ll come when they come.”
“No, don’t give up yet,” Eric said, faux-sympathetic.
“You just want them to be born so you can go to the concert,” she grumbled.
Eric’s gaze flicked to the rest of the group; Hyde staring at him suspiciously.
“Y-you can keep trying…even if it takes you to Sunday,” he said.
“Or Monday!” Jackie piped up. “I think you’ll go into labor then.”
“Nah, I’m saying Tuesday,” Fez said.
Y/n squinted her eyes at her friends. “Okay, what’s going on?”
“Nothing,” Fez squeaked.
“Uh huh, and I’m calling bologna,” she said, eyes never leaving Fez’s nervous ones.
“Nothing you’ll be interested in,” Jackie said.
“Yeah? Try me.”
Everyone was silent, not daring to speak up, until—
“We’ve all been making a bet to see when you’ll go into labor!” Fez blurted out.
“FEZ!” Everyone shouted.
“What the hell?!” Eric shouted.
“Unbelievable!” Donna cried out.
“Big mouth!” Jackie chimed in.
“Traitor!” Kelso added.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t lie to her!” Fez said.
“But you can bet money on me?!” Y/n shouted. “I can’t believe you guys!”
“Yeah! How could you do this and not let me in on it?!” Hyde shouted.
Y/n snapped her head to him. “WHAT?!”
“C’mon, we’re both so miserable here, at least let’s make some money out of it,” he defended.
“Oh, yeah I’m sure all that sex has helped ease the pain,” Fez grumbled bitterly.
“Shut up, Fez,” Hyde demanded, making Fez pout and turn away.
“You know the worst part is you guys didn’t include me on this,” Y/n continued.
“What?” the group asked in unison.
“Well, like Steven said, if I’m going to be miserable, I might as well make some money!”
“Hey, you’re cooler about this than I thought you would,” Markus said.
“If I wasn’t pregnant and desperate to get these kids out, I wouldn’t be,” she said. “Now, tell me, how high is the bet?”
“Forty,” he responded casually.
“Forty?!” Y/n screeched. “C’mon I’m worth more than that!”
“It’s all I’ve got in my purse,” Jackie responded bitterly. “Unless you have more money.”
“I know Hyde does,” Kelso smirked.
Hyde glared at him. “Drop it before I drop you.”
                                         The Next Day…
“C’mon, babies, just stay in there until after tonight,” Eric encouraged, talking to his sister’s belly.
“You know that’s not how that works,” she responded, laughing at him.
“They can still hear right? Maybe they will listen.”
“Yeah, in your dreams, Forman,” Hyde said as he sat next to his wife on the couch.
“Come on, babies, if you wait to come out and let Daddy go to the concert with Uncle Eric, I promise I’ll give you whatever you want.”
Y/n couldn’t help but chuckle. “I don’t think they’re coming out anytime soon. You guys can go to the concert tonight, it’s fine.”
“YES!” Eric cheered.
“You sure?” Hyde asked genuinely and turned to her. “What if you go into labor while I’m gone?”
“I still have my parents here and Markus said he’ll be a phone call away if I need him,” she reassured him.
Hyde made a face at her. “I don’t know how I feel about this new guy helping you.”
“Would you rather it be Fez or Kelso?”
He smacked his lips in thought. “Good point.”
“Besides, I think it’ll be nice to just be me tonight,” she continued. “I can finally start that book I’ve wanting to read.”
“Vogue Magazine isn’t a book,” Eric reminded.
“Neither are comics,” she snapped back.
“Then why are they called comic books?” he shot back.
Y/n sighed. “Either way, I’m looking forward to finally getting some alone time.”
“As long you’re okay with it. And I won’t be out long,” Hyde promised.
“Okay,” Y/n said, smiling at him and kissed him. “I’m going to go take a nap. Wake me up before you leave.”
Hyde nodded as he helped her off the couch. Just as she did, she clutched her stomach, hissing sharply.
“Oh!” she yelped, bending over.
“Oh, my God! Y/n!” Hyde reacted quickly, reaching for her so she didn’t stumble forward.
“Y/n, are you okay?!” Eric asked her with wide eyes.
“Yeah, just kidding,” she giggled and walked upstairs.
The two young men let out a breath of relief and glared at her as she walked up the stairs.
“Sometimes, I really, really don’t like her,” Eric griped.
                                             --Time Skip—
“Y/n, I’m leaving!” Steven said as he gathered his wallet, keys, and tickets together.
“I’m coming,” she called out as she waddled down the stairs.
He met her at the bottom of the stairs and placed his hands on her hips, leaning down to kiss her. “You sure you’re okay with this?”
“More than,” she said, grinning. “You go and have a great time, okay?”
“I will. I left the number for you on the counter to the venue in case anything happens.”
“Look at you, being all worried and responsible,” she teased.
He chuckled and kissed her gently. “I love you. I’m serious—call.”
“I will,” she said and hugged him. “I love you. Have fun.”
“Will you stop making out with my sister and get in the car?” Eric asked impatiently. “Led Zepplin isn’t going to wait for us.”
“Shut up, Forman,” Hyde said and turned to Y/n once more. “Try to not have those babies until I get back.”
“I will definitely try,” she replied sweetly before giving him one more kiss. “Now, go. Enjoy the concert. Oh! Wait there for a moment.” She ran back to the kitchen before returning to the front door with a camera in her hand. “Take some pictures for me.”
Hyde held the large polaroid camera in his hand and looked at his wife. “You want me to take pictures the whole time?”
She nodded innocently. “Yeah!”
“No,” he deadpanned and set the camera on the couch.
“What? Why?!”
“I’m going to be busy rocking and rolling, not taking pictures of the band.”
“Steven, please! Just because I can’t be there doesn’t mean I don’t want pictures!”
“Yeah, that’s a lot of pictures that I don’t want to take and have to keep track of. No, thanks.”
“Why’re you being so stubborn?”
“Hey, if you wanted to see Led Zepplin, you should be going,” Eric piped up from behind them.
“You literally bought tickets for everyone but me,” she snipped.
“Correction: I bought them for me, you, Hyde, and Donna. Kelso bought tickets for him and Hyde,”
“But…Jackie’s not going, what're you doing with that extra ticket?” Y/n inquired.
“Yeah…he thought he was going to be able to score with her, but then she met Markus and quite frankly, I think Kelso is afraid of him. So, he’s bringing Fez,” Eric answered.
“I’m not even going to question that,” she said and turned back to her husband. “You be careful and have fun. But not too much fun!”
“Alright, cool, let’s go!” Eric pushed and shoved Hyde out the door.
“What the hell, man?” Hyde asked outside the door.
“We still have to pick up Kelso and Fez and I’d rather not be later because you couldn’t stop being mushy with my sister,” Eric responded and closed the door before Y/n could hear what Hyde had to say.
Y/n looked down to her stomach and held it between her hands. “Well, guys, it looks like it’s just us. What do you guys want to do? We can watch TV, read a book…eat a tub of ice cream?” A kick to the stomach confirmed her question. “Ice cream it is!”
                                         Later that night…
Y/n sat on the couch in the living room watching a rerun of Three’s Company when the doorbell rang. When she answered the door, Jackie and Markus stood there.
“What’re you guys doing here?” Y/n asked them.
“Well, we know you’re by yourself tonight so we figured you’d like some company,” Markus said with a bright smile and held up a Fatso Burger bag. “We also brought food.”
“Well, I wouldn’t put it that nicely, but yeah same,” Jackie said and welcomed herself in.
“Oh, uh, well thanks,” Y/n said and closed the door. “You guys don’t have to be here. My parents are home and if anything happens, they’ll be here.”
“Nonsense. We’re your friends,” Markus said and sat down on the couch. “Besides, we figured you were hungry.”
“Always,” Y/n said and waddled over to the couch. “This was really nice of you. Thank you.”
“Not a problem,” Markus said, smiling and handing her a wrapped burger. “What’re we watching?”
“Three’s Company. It’s the one where Chrissy takes a freelance job as an X-rated writer for a fictional diary,” Y/n responded, watching the screen.
“Oh, that’s a good one,” Jackie said, digging into her fries.
After they had finished their meals and the episode ended, another one was starting soon as they all had settled back into the couch.
“No, no, no that’s ridiculous,” Markus argued. “Why would Doc Ock be Spider-Man’s greatest enemy? It’s always been Green Goblin!”
“The Green Goblin is Peter’s most famous enemy, but it makes sense that his greatest enemy is Doc Ock because think about it: Your mentor and friend turning bad? Can you imagine the betrayal?” Y/n countered.
“But Green Goblin was his best friend’s dad! That also has to mean something! Then, once his dad died, his best friend became the Green Goblin!”
“Yeah, that would mean something if Harry hadn’t tried to kill Peter first!”
“To be fair, Harry didn’t know about Spider-Man’s identity until later.”
“And to be fair, this conversation is killing me,” Jackie piped up, bored.
“Yeah, but—” Y/n was cut off by an abrupt sharp pain down in her lower abdomen. Her hands flew to her stomach and held her breath as the pain radiated and quickly subsided. She let out a sigh of relief.
Markus and Jackie sat up straight as Markus’s hands hovered over Y/n. “A-are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Y/n responded, breathlessly. “That was weird. Anyway, as I was saying—OH!”
Another sharp pain reared its ugly head, radiating through her pelvis to her back and down her legs. “Oh, my God!” Her grip on the couch tightened, knuckles turning white. She could feel her abdomen tighten rock-hard as she felt the pain become more intense.
“Y/n, what’s wrong?” Jackie asked.
Y/n couldn’t respond and could only whimper.
“Oh, my God,” Markus said, panicking and jumped from the couch. “Oh, my God! Not now!”
All Y/n could do was shake her head as the pain was starting to subside to the point where she could get some words out. “No, no, it can’t be. It can take a while for the babies to get here. It could just be the beginning stages.”
“The beginning stages of what?” Jackie asked.
Markus looked at her with a panicked and wild look in his eyes. “Are you serious?!”
“What?!” she asked, matching his energy.
“She’s in labor, Jackie!”
“Oh,” Jackie said calmly, but then it hit her. “OH!”
“We need to get you to the hospital,” Markus said, rushing to get her up from the couch.
“That’s not necessary,” Y/n said, another sharp pressure coming on as she stood. “The book said contractions need to be five to ten minutes apart before going to the hospital. Labor can take a while.”
Markus sighed a small breath of relief before looking down and his eyes widening. “And what does the book say about that?”
Y/n looked down on the floor at her feet as she felt some wetness.
                                          Her water had broke.

The Things You Give Pt. 32

But I think I got it! I hope you like this chapter! It took a bit to write and I hope I do it justice. Thank you, loves! For everything. By the way, it's finally spooky season! Yay!

“What are you doing here?” Y/n asked incuriously.
“I’m here to pick up some stuff,” he responded and leaned against the doorframe, staring her up and down. “Whoa, who did this to you?”
“Who the hell are you?” Hyde asked, coming up behind Y/n.
“Connor,” he replied coyly and flicked his dirty blonde hair out of his eyes.  “Who are you?”
“I’m her husband,” he said defensively.
“Oh, yeah I heard about you,” Connor said, wagging a finger at him. “You’re the one that got busted for carrying. Like, two years ago, right?”
“Yeah, now answer my question.”
Connor smirked and eyed Y/n up and down. “I was her camp counselor a couple years back.”
Hyde looked to his wife whose eyes never left Connor’s. “Is he the one you…?”
“Yep,” Y/n responded shortly.
“And it looks like I dodged a bullet,” Connor snickered.
Y/n sharply inhaled, a throbbing headache already coming on. “What do you want, Connor?”
“I’m here for my dad,” he responded. “Wanted me to pick up something from Red.”
“What? What could he have that you need to pick up?”
“Hey, Connor!” Red greeted as he came from the den. “Glad you’re here! Wanna follow me into the garage?”
“How do you know each other?” Y/n asked.
“I ran into his dad while at the hardware store the other day,” Red replied. “He told me that he was in need of a chainsaw and I told him ‘No need, you can borrow mine.’”
The couple raised their eyebrows at him.
“You’re willingly letting someone borrow one of your tools?” Y/n asked incredulously. “Okay, who are you and what have you done with my dad?”
Red chuckled. “I know his dad. We’ve known each other for years. We served together in Korea.”
“Oh…” she trailed off, her stomach dropping. “Of course, he did.”
“How bout that?” Hyde chuckled, jealousy starting to boil in his veins.
“How do you two know each other?” Red asked, turning the question back on them.
“I was her camp counselor,” Connor repeated. “We had a good time and got to know each other pretty well.” He drawled on those last two words, not breaking eye contact with her.
Y/n glared at him, her fingers starting to itch from wanting to wrap them around his throat.
Red furrowed his brows at him. “What do you mean by that?”
“Nothing,” Y/n answered through clenched teeth. “We got to know each other just like everyone else.”
Red couldn’t help but squint his eyes at the three young adults: Y/n standing rigid, clenching her jaw while Steven stood stiff as well with his fists balled up, knuckles white. Then there was Connor whose smirk never left his face, eyes scanning his daughter like a piece of meat. Any likeness he had towards the kid was quickly going down the drain.
“Alright, Connor, follow me to the garage,” Red said, less enthusiastic as before.
“Yes, Mr. Forman,” Connor said dutifully and brushed past Y/n without breaking eye contact—or his smirk.
Once those two disappeared behind the kitchen, Y/n spun to Hyde whose eyes were locked on the kitchen door. If she didn’t know any better, he would be able to burn holes into it.
“That son of a bitch,” she spit.
“I hate him,” he said shortly.
“Yeah, me too,” she sighed and got back to helping everyone clean. “Just don’t pay any mind to him. It’s what he wants.”
“Why did he bring up your guys’ past like that?” Eric asked.
Y/n froze as she was picking up the plates. “Uh...I don't know. Reasons?"
“What reasons?” Donna pressed, grinning wickedly.
Y/n whipped her head towards her, baring her teeth. “Shut. Up,” she mouthed.
“Nothing, guys,” Y/n said without making eye contact. “Just drop it, okay?”
“Y/n…what aren’t you telling us?” Kitty asked nervously.
“It doesn’t matter,” she replied, getting visibly nervous. “Let’s just clean up because I’m getting tired and want to go to bed.”
“Y/n, it’s six o’ clock,” Donna pointed out.
“Yeah, well, you try carrying twins!” she snapped.
Donna laughed as she carried the rest of the plates in the kitchen.
“Y/n…please tell me you didn’t do anything with that boy,” Kitty almost begged, nervous.
“Uhm…” she stumbled, her brain short-circuiting.
“You know what, I don’t want to know,” Kitty said, almost disgusted. “All my children are sex maniacs.” She rushed out the living into the kitchen.
“Okay, but seriously, what the hell?” Y/n hissed once Kitty was out of earshot. “Out of all people, he had to be the one to show up at my front door!”
“What’s the big deal?” Eric asked. “It’s not like he’s going to stir up anything. He’s just here to pick something for his dad.”
“No, absolutely not,” she responded. “Knowing Connor, he’s going to pull something Zack would do.”
“You know, I’m getting real tired of all these surprise visitors,” Hyde grumbled and picked up some plates off the coffee table. “It’s starting to dwindle my will to live.”
“You don’t think he’s going to tell Dad about you two, do you?” Eric asked nervously.
“If he’s asking for an ass whooping, then sure,” his twin chuckled. “I’m not worried about Dad’s reaction, I want to know his true intention.”
“Yeah, it can’t get worse than finding out about you and Hyde,” Donna chuckled.
“Yeah,” Y/n trailed off, remembering the murder that almost took place. She shook her head, bringing herself back in the moment. “Anyway.”
“He can’t do any worse than what Zack did,” Donna said.
“I wouldn’t put it past him,” Y/n grumbled. “I’m really not in the mood to kick his ass, too.”
“Hey, I’m your husband. That’s my job,” Hyde piped up and smiled at her, making his way into the kitchen.
“And you’ll look sexy while doing it,” she responded and followed him into the kitchen.
Eric and Donna trailed behind them as well, carrying the rest of the garbage and dishes.
Kitty sat at the table with a glass of bourbon, reading a Cosmo magazine.
“Uh, oh. Someone pulled out the bourbon,” Y/n sang-song. “What’s got you upset?”
“Oh, nothing,” Kitty said hoarsely as she flipped through her magazine. “It’s nice knowing all my children are sinners.”
“Ugh, Mom,” Eric and Y/n groaned in unison.
“And the fact that you two partied and drank in high school,” Hyde tsked, watching as the twins turned to him with wide eyes and murderous looks.
“You what?!” Kitty screeched.
“Nothing!” Y/n seethed. “Hyde is just a little loopy from his head injury.”
“What? I don’t have a—”
He didn’t finish as he was wacked hard upside the head.
“Ow, Y/n!” Hyde grumbled, rubbing his head, but his smirk didn’t falter nor go unnoticed.
“It doesn’t matter anyway,” Y/n said and finished throwing away the trash. “I want to know why, out of all the guys in Point Place, why did he have to come knocking at my front door?”
“Come on, Y/n, whatever happened between you two was a while ago,” Donna said, carefully picking her words. “I don’t think he’s here to start anything.”
“I don’t know,” she responded. Her mind was reeling of the possibilities. “If Zack was a problem before, I can’t imagine what Connor is going to be.”
“Oh, Y/n, you’re being a little dramatic,” Kitty said and stood from the table with her bourbon in hand. “Connor isn’t going to do anything. You’re married now with twins on the way. I dont think he’s going to try anything.”
“Maybe not, but that doesn’t ease my nerves,” she responded and grabbed a snack from the fridge.
“Don’t let one person ruin your day,” Kitty said exasperated. “You had a great day! You had a beautiful baby shower—thanks to me—and you got amazing gifts—also thanks to me—and now you have everything you need for these babies! Why would you want to let an ex ruin that?”
“I guess,” Y/n sighed, rubbing her eyes. “I just don’t have the time or energy to deal with another ex-problem. I want to focus on the babies and figuring out what I’m doing to do with my life.”
“You still haven’t figured it out?” Kitty asked, shocked.
“Well…no,” she admitted sheepishly. “I don’t know what I’m interested in.”
“Join the club,” Eric said.
“Well, figure it out, you two, because you won’t be living here for the rest of your lives.” She didn’t give them a chance to respond as she marched out the kitchen.
“Ugh,” Y/n grunted as plopped down at the table. “I’m exhausted.” A beat passed. “Steven, I’m hungry.”
He sighed and looked at her adoringly. “What do you want?”
She perked up. “A big fat cheeseburger with extra pickles and large fries. Oh, and a chocolate milkshake!”
“You got it,” he said and kissed her before grabbing his keys.
“Can you get me something?” Eric asked.
“No,” Hyde called over his shoulder as he walked out the door.
Eric turned back to his sister who was grinning. “Nice husband you got there.”
“I know,” she responded dreamily.
Suddenly, the door slid open revealing Connor and Red with Connor holding a chainsaw.
“Thanks, Mr. Forman. I know my mom is going to be really happy once my dad cuts off those noisy tree branches. She’ll finally be able to sleep at night now that the branches won’t be hitting her window.”
“You’re welcome. Just remember to bring it back,” Red said, smiling. “Tell Chuck I said hi and to give me a call. Maybe he’d like to grab a few beers and catch up.”
“I’ll let him know,” Connor chuckled innocently before he caught sight of Y/n. His eyes suddenly turned vulture like as if he was waiting for his prey to die. “I’ll see you later,” he purred.
A shiver ran down her spine, and not in a good way. “Ew.”
“Come on, sugar, don’t be like that.”
“Wow, okay, we have a lot to unpack here,” she stated and stood to her feet. “One: Don’t call me that. It’s gross, you’re gross. And second of all: I don’t know why you out of all people have to be here, but stay away from me, stay away from my friends, and stay away from my family. Specifically, my husband.”
“Trust me, sweets, I wasn’t planning on being anywhere near you.”
She squinted at him. “Good. I already had to deal with Zack, don’t make me deal with you, too.”
“Oh, yeah, I heard about that,” he snickered. “You made him run away with his tail tucked between his legs. Real badass what you did there.”
“Don’t patronize me,” she spit. “I don’t need you bringing your crap into my life. There’s a reason why we didn’t move forward with our relationship.”
“You call what we had—or did—a relationship?” he sneered. Her eyes widened as he smirked at her. “Darling, I only hooked up with you because I needed a release.”
“You did WHAT?!” Red barked, making Y/n jump.
“This is it; this is how I die,” she whispered to Donna who was sitting behind her.
“You hooked up with your camp counselor?!” Red continued to shriek and turned to Connor. “You’re like two years older than her!”
“Hey, man, she wanted it just as much. She was hot on me like a moth to a flame.”
Y/n thought she was going to vomit right then and there.
“Connor, man, do you think this is smart to do with my dad and a chainsaw in the same room?” Eric muttered out of the corner of his mouth.
“I’m going to kill you with my bare hands!” Red roared.
"Wow, okay, go straight to it," Eric murmured and got behind Y/n.
“And then I’m going to detach every single one of your limbs for fish bait and if that is able to bring me any use, then that is the most useful you’ve ever been in your entire life!” Red continued.
Connor chuckled as if he just didn’t receive a threat from Red who was very capable of following through. “Yeah, okay. Thanks for the chainsaw, man.”
“I don’t think so,” Red countered and ripped the chainsaw out of his hands. “You can get the hell out of my house.”
The smile on Connor’s face faded. “Fine.”
“Oh, and tell Chuck that he’s a son of a bitch and I never liked him.”
Connor didn’t respond, but turn on his heel and walk out. Once they heard the front door slam close, Red whipped to his daughter who was cowering away from him.
“What the hell was that about?” he demanded. “All that crap he was saying—he better be lying because I’m tired of hearing things about you that a father should never hear about his daughter.”
“It’s not as bad as it sounds,” Y/n responded cooly, even though her heart was about to beat out of her chest.
“Okay, then tell me how it is, then,” Red challenged as he put the chainsaw down to cross his arms. “Tell me how it’s ‘not as bad as it sounds.’”
“We went out a couple times and kissed once,” she lied—sort of. “Nothing beyond that. He was just being a prick. And he told me he was the same age as me, so I didn’t think anything of it.”
Red stared at her for a moment, deciphering whether she was telling the truth or not. She held her breath while under his scrutinized glare.
Another beat passed. “Fine.”
Her gaze snapped to his. “Fine?”
“Fine,” he repeated. “At this point I don’t care if you’re lying to me. I’m just tired of your ex-boyfriends.”
“Believe me, so am I,” she grumbled and watched as Red walked out the kitchen. “I’m still not convinced that he’s gone for good.”
“He’s gone for now,” Donna said, attempting to soothe her best friend. “Try to relax.”
“Keyword is ‘try’,” she grumbled and allowed Donna to lead her back to the table. Putting her hands on Y/n’s shoulders, she guided her down into the chair.
“Look, you’re three months away from popping and any stress isn’t good for the babies. You need to find a way to destress. Decompress tonight and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Okay?” Eric said, trying to comfort his sister.
Y/n’s face scrunched up in realization. “Isn’t that from my book?”
“Hey, I get bored. And I’m reader, I can’t help it.”
Y/n chuckled as Donna handed her a juice. “Thanks.”
“Okay, let’s forget about Connor,” Donna continued and sat next to her best friend. “What do you want to do?”
“Well…I could go for a movie,” she perked up.
Donna nodded. “Okay, sure. What movie do you wanna see?”
“I heard the new Rocky movie was good.”
“Nah, nah, nah, you wanna see Mad Max,” Eric intercepted. “Now that movie was badass!”
“Or,” Y/n continued, ignoring Eric. “I could go upstairs, get into my comfiest pjs and put on a movie and wait for Steven to bring me my food so I can go to bed early.”
“You’ve been sleeping a lot more lately,” Eric said, concerned.
“I’m busy incubating right now. Let me know how well it goes for you when you get pregnant.”
“Ha, ha, very funny,” he deadpanned.
“No, but I am tired and I just want to snuggle up with my husband.” She checked her watch. “Where is Steven with the food?”
“It’s only been a few minutes,” Eric said, cutting himself a slice a cake Kitty had made earlier in the day.
“This town ain’t that big,” Y/n countered. “I swear, if he’s not here in five minutes, I’m going to start eating you.”
Eric’s eyes widened.
“Hey, Doll,” Steven said, sliding the door open. “Sorry, it took so long. The line was—”
“Oh, thank God,” Eric cried out and grabbed Hyde’s shoulders and spun his body around so that Eric was using him as a human shield. “Y/n was about to start honing in to eat me.”
“What?” Hyde responded, barley stumbling back. “No, she wasn’t and—get off me, Forman!” He shrugged Eric off his shoulders.
“Is that mine?” Y/n asked, pointing to the white, greasy bag in her husband’s hand.
“Who else’s would it be?” he asked, teasing. “Here you go. And here’s that milkshake.”
“Thank you, baby,” she cooed and kissed him.
“Of course.” He looked around the kitchen, noticing Connor’s absence. “Where’s wannabe frat boy?”
“He left. He told my dad that we were a thing.”
“What?!”
“Yeah…”
“And the place is still standing?” he quipped.
“It wasn’t about to be,” Y/n chuckled and sat down to dig in.
“Yeah, sounds about right,” Hyde said and swiped one of her fries.
She smacked his hand away. “Hey! Get your own.”
                                             --Time Skip—
“Hey, Honey, do you have the new The Knack album?” Y/n asked while browsed through the records at Groove’s.
“Yeah.” Hyde rounded the checkout counter and joined her at the crates of records. He flicked through a few before he pulled out and handed it to her. “One The Knack record for my pretty lady.”
“Forever the gentlemen,” she flirted and took it from his grip. She flipped it over to see the price. “Oh, Mr. Hyde I don’t have any money to pay for this.” She twirled a piece of hair around her finger. “Will you take any other form of payment?”
Steven looked at her with hooded eyes, smirking, and took a step closer to her, a hand resting on her hip. “I can think of one.”
She hummed. “Where can I give your payment?”
“The office is empty,” he purred and started kissing her jaw.
“Does it lock?” she breathed.
“I installed one for a reason.”
Y/n felt a moan creeping up in the back of her throat as she felt his lips brush against her sweet spot on her neck. “Are you busy?”
“I can take my break.”
“Really, you two? At work?” an annoyed voice piped up from behind them.
They spun around to see Angie standing there, holding a clipboard and a file.
“In the middle of the store, no less,” she continued. “Very professional, Steven.”
“You’re right,” Hyde said and grabbed Y/n’s hand. “We still have the office.”
He started to tug her towards the office when Angie stopped them.
“No! Don’t defile our office like that!” Angie argued. “I do our paperwork and eat my lunch in there!”
“Oh…you might want to find another place to eat now,” Y/n said sheepishly.
Angie’s eyes widened. “EW! What is wrong with you two?!”
Steven shrugged and wrapped an arm around Y/n's shoulders. “What can I say? We’re hot for each other.”
Angie scoffed. “Well, you can’t leave the floor anyway. You need to do inventory, remember?”
Hyde sighed in annoyance. “C’mon, man, we have until Friday to finish it.”
“Yeah, and it’s Tuesday and I’ve already done half of the work,” she argued. “I think having your wife here is distracting you.”
“Hey, ‘his wife’ has a name and you know that!” Y/n piped up.
“Honey, I’ve got this,” Steven said defensively. “My wife has a name, and you know that!”
“She just said that,” Angie said.
“I know,” he replied and shuffled his feet, straightening his back. “It sounds better coming from me.”
Y/n’s eyes rolled but couldn’t stop the smile that spread across her face.
“Besides, she has every right to be here just as much as everyone else,” Hyde continued. “If you don’t want her here, then I’m not going to be here. You know what? That sounds like a good idea. C’mon, Y/n, let’s go—”
As he turned to walk out, Angie stopped them again. “You can’t go anywhere. You said you were going to lock up the store tonight.”
Steven stopped dead in his tracks and turned back around. “When did I say that?”
“Yesterday, when I asked you if you could lock up tonight because I have a date.”
Hyde thought back to the day before, trying to remember when he agreed to do it. It suddenly hit him when he had strolled in after “lunch” and was barley listening to her as he watched the patterns on the wall dance.
“In my opinion, I didn’t know what I was agreeing to,” he argued, and Angie rolled her eyes. “Besides, who do you have a date with?”
“No one in particular,” she said, the file suddenly becoming interesting.
“Angie…” he warned. “Are you going out with Kelso?”
“No,” she said, a little too loudly.
“Angie, you can’t go out with Kelso, man! Kelsos have a bad rep. Even the sign entering Point Place says that.”
“Yeah, he’s right,” Y/n said. “It literally says, ‘Don’t date Kelso.’”
Angie shook her head, rolling her eyes. “You guys have nothing to worry about. It’s just dinner.”
“Yeah, and you’re going to be dessert,” Y/n quipped, earning a dirty glare from her husband. “Look, if you don’t want to end up pregnant like the last chick, don’t—and I cannot stress this enough—date Kelso.”
“Well, then I can just join your club then,” Angie said snidely.
Y/n squinted at her sister-in-law, feeling insulted. “You know what? Let her get knocked up, I don’t care,” she said and walked away to sit down at the counter.
“C’mon, can you close up tonight?” Angie said. “Do you want me to beg?”
“Actually, yeah, I do.” Steven changed his stance, legs spread apart with his arms crossed. “Go ahead.”
She groaned. “Fine. Please?”
He scrunched his face. “No. You’re not going out with Kelso. I forbid it.”
He walked past her to join Y/n at the register.
“Forbid it?” Angie asked. “You can’t forbid me to do anything!”
“I don’t care, man. Kelso is bad news, and I won’t let him hurt you because that’s what he’ll do.”
“Awe, that’s so sweet that you’re looking out for me,” she cooed.
He leaned against the counter on his hands. “No, it’s not that. I don’t want to have Kelso officially related to me. I already can’t stand him as my friend.”
“Okay fine. I won’t go out with him,” Angie said, pouting. “But you’re still going to lock up for me tonight.”
“Fine.”
“But that’s not the reason why I came out here.” She handed him the folder in her hand. “I hired a new girl and she’s on her way right now to fill out the paperwork.”
“We were hiring?” he asked, flipping through the file. “What’s she like?”
“Well, her name is Mandy, she’s twenty and still in college. Very sweet, very smart, and very cute.”
“Oh, good to know. Didn’t even know we were hiring.”
“It’s only part time, but she’ll be a good addition to the store.”
“Uh, quick question,” Y/n piped up, holding up her hand. “Why didn’t you think to ask me? I’m not only here every other day, I know my way around the store.”
“Because when you go into labor, we’d have to find a temporary replacement and I don’t want to go through that trouble. It’s better to just have someone already lined up,” Angie responded. “Besides, having a pregnant lady here might turn off some customers.”
“Oh, well, thanks for your consideration,” Y/n muttered bitterly.
“She starts Monday. Make sure she fills out all the forms and has her driver’s license and social security card,” Angie directed.
“Do we really need all that stuff?” Hyde asked and tossed the folder on the counter beside him. “It’s just you and me, man. We don’t need a third person here.”
“Extra help won’t hurt,” she said. “Besides, she’ll really help out when you go on paternity leave.”
“Paternity leave? I’m only going to be gone a few days, maybe a week.”
“A week?!” Y/n interrupted. “I’m going to push two full grown babies out of a hole the size of a pea and you’re only going to be home for a week?!”
“Well, Y/n, I still have to bring home a paycheck,” he replied, turning to his wife. “You can’t buy diapers without me bringing home the dough.”
“Oh, come on, you know how Dad is,” Angie said. “We both know he’s going to pay you a little extra. You are making him a grandfather anyway.”
“I’m not going to assume that he’s going to pay me, Angie,” he said, opening the cash drawer to count it.
“Yeah, because he’s my hardworking man,” Y/n gushed and wrapped her arms around his middle, kissing his shoulder.
“Ugh, get a room,” Angie said, rolling her eyes.
“Well, we tried but you clam-jammed me,” Hyde said and snickered after Angie wrinkled her nose at him.
“Just…be nice to the girl when she comes in, will you?” Angie asked desperately and looked at Y/n. “And keep your hands to yourselves.”
“Oh, you mean like this?” Y/n grabbed her husband and smashed her mouth to his, roaming her hands all over his back, shoulders, and butt.
Steven went along and gripped her hips, returning the kiss.
“Uh…is there where I’m supposed to fill out paperwork?” a small voice piped up.
The couple pulled apart instantly. In front of the counter stood a petite girl with dark flowing hair and dazzling green eyes. She was skinny but had a natural big bust which was really pointed out by her sling bag strap resting between her breasts. Her face was round and innocent with a natural pink tint to it. Overall, she was absolutely gorgeous.
Y/n couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.
Angie could feel her face heating up and blocked her of the PDA. “You must be Mandy,” she chuckled nervously.
“Is this how your employees interact with each other?” she asked with a hint of a smile.
“No!” Angie quickly defended. “They’re…they’re—uh—”
“Married,” Hyde finished for her. “And she’s not an employee. This is my wife, Y/n.”
“Hi, I’m Mandy,” she said, waving.
“I’m Steven Hyde, I’m the manager,” he said and shook her hand. “But you can call me Hyde.”
“So, you’ll be my boss?” she asked.
“Yes, and her too,” he pointed to Angie. “You’ll probably be dealing with her more than me, though.”
“Okay,” she said, nodding her head. “Sounds easy enough.”
“Trust me, man, it is,” he said, walking around the counter and hopped onto it, his legs dangling. “Just keep the store running and don’t let anyone steal anything and you’ll be golden.”
“Well, there’s more to that,” Angie corrected, giving Steven a look. “But that’s the gist of it.”
“Okay, sounds good,” she beamed. “Where should I sign the papers?”
“Here, I’ll take you into the office,” Hyde said and grabbed the folder then lead her into the office. He turned briefly to shoot Angie and Y/n a smirk before entering the room.
Once they disappeared, Y/n turned to Angie. “What the hell? You couldn’t hire someone else?”
She couldn’t even be bothered to look up from her clip board. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, you couldn’t have hired someone old and ugly?!”
Angie finally looked up with a glint in her eye. “Do you have a problem with Mandy?”
“Do I have a problem?” Y/n repeated. “You purposely hired her to piss me off, didn’t you?”
Angie sighed, now annoyed. “What’re you talking about? I put a help wanted ad in the paper a few days ago and she answered it. I didn’t do anything on purpose.” She looked at Y/n who was busy glaring at the office door that was now closed.
“Why is that door closed?” she asked, pointing to it.
“For confidentially reasons,” Angie responded like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “You know that office has other uses besides what you guys do. Anyways, what has gotten into y—?” A smirk then danced across her lips realizing what it was. “Are you jealous of Mandy?”
“What?” Y/n cried out. “Of course not!”
“Really? Because I think I’m starting to see some green poke through.”
“Angie, I’m not jealous of Mandy, okay?” Y/n said, a little weakly. “It’s just…I don’t like the way she looked at him.”
“She didn’t look at him in anyway—” Angie started, but then realized that it was a moot point. “Y/n…if you’re worried about if he’s going to try anything with her, he’s not.”
Y/n moved her attention to Angie who, for the first time, was talking to her like a normal human being and not just some annoyance. “I know, but…she’s his exact type from before.”
Angie popped out her hip and rested her fist on it. “How do you know she’s Steven’s type?”
“Well,” she stuttered and looked down at her hands that were resting on the counter. “She’s pretty and…and tall—”
“She’s not that tall.”
“Okay, but she also has a rack on her!”
Angie snickered and flicked her eyes down to Y/n’s swollen chest before looking back up. “Yeah, because hers are the problem.”
“And she’s older!”
“So?”
“She’s wiser! She’s in college!”
Angie hummed, thoroughly amused at this point. “Anything else?”
“She’s—”
“Skinny?” Angie interjected.
Y/n snapped her attention to her sister-in-law. “Are you enjoying this?!”
“Maybe a little bit,” she admitted and set the clipboard down. “Look, I don’t think you have anything to worry about with Steven. Steven is a lot of things, but a cheater ain’t one of them.”
“Yeah, I’ve said that before,” Y/n mumbled.
“With the way Steven looks at you, you’ll be fine,” Angie continued and started flicking through the vinyl’s and checking them off her check list.
“Yeah,” Y/n sighed. “It’s not him I’m worried about, though.”
                                                   --Time Skip—
“So, you think the new girl is going to go after Hyde?” Donna asked later that night as they hung out in her bedroom. An empty pizza box sat at their side along with two coke bottles and juice boxes as Donna painted Y/n’s toes a baby pink.
“I don’t know, I mean, she didn’t interested, but I don’t know what happened after they went into the office,” Elena sighed.
“C’mon, you don’t think Hyde would actually cheat, do you?”
Y/n shrugged. “No, but I can’t trust a girl won’t throw herself at him.”
Donna screwed the cover back on the nail polish and used a magazine to fan the polish dry. “I don’t think you have anything to worry about.”
“You think?”
“Yeah, I mean you remember what happened last time.”
“Exactly! I remember what happened last time and I don’t want a repeat of it! Remember Amber?”
“I don’t think that’s going to happen again,” Donna reassured.
“It was only six months ago, Donna!”
“Y/n, listen. Hyde has a lot to worry about then some girl coming onto him, alright?”
“You didn’t see her, Donna,” Y/n whined and got up carefully as to not ruin her nail polish. “She was really cute and not pregnant and older! She’s in college!”
“What?! No way!” Donna exaggerated, feigning shock.
“Yeah! She can easily have—you’re making fun of me, aren’t you?”
“I’m sorry,” she laughed. “But you’re being a little ridiculous.”
“Am not!” Donna gave her a look and Y/n’s shoulders slumped. “Okay, maybe a little. I just don’t seem big chested college bimbo all over my husband.” Donna gave her another look. “What?! I’m pregnant and hormonal; don’t contradict me.”
                                                            --Time Skip—
“Hey, Y/n,” Steven said the next morning as he entered their bedroom. She sat on their bed against the headboard as she read her baby book. “We need to think about setting up the twins’ nursery. You got any ideas?”
“Mhm, not really,” she murmured.
He stood at the edge of the bed, staring at his wife. “Well, shouldn’t we go over it?”
She hummed and flipped the page. “Sure, if you want.”
Steven placed a hand on his hip and looked down at her frustrated. “Can you stop reading and look at me?”
A sigh escaped her as she looked up from her book, annoyed. “There, happy?”
“What’s gotten into you?”
She shrugged. “Nothing.”
“Bull,” he spit.
“I’m serious! I’m just reading.”
“You’re not usually annoyed when reading. Seriously, what’s wrong with you?”
“Steven, I told you, it’s nothing.”
“And like I said, it’s bull.”
She stumbled her way off the bed and rubbed her forehead. “You’re right, I’m sorry. Must be pregnancy hormones. What do you have in mind?”
He scrunched his brows at her, but relaxed his features immediately as he decided to let it go. “Yep, well, that’s why I came to you.”
“You’ve always been better at this kind of thing than I am.”
“We can do Winnie the Pooh?”
“What—are our children wusses? No thanks.”
“Okay, what about green? Or blue?”
“What if they’re both girls?”
“Okay, then yellow?”
“Then we’re back to Winnie the Pooh!”
“Okay, then you pick!” she said, frustrated.
“I don’t know, doll,” he said and sat on the bed. “We just need to pick something out so that we can be ready.”
“I can pick up some magazines,” she sighed and sat next to him. “I’ll go today.”
“Well, we can start by rearranging the room,” he suggested, his tone lighter than before. “We do have a lot of crap in there.”
She smiled and rubbed her round belly. “Yeah, we can do that.”
“Good.” He turned to look at her and kissed her forehead.
“I’m sorry for being grumpy.”
“Yeah, well…you were.”
She laughed and threw a pillow at his face. Chuckling, he blocked it and leaned in, kissing her.
                                              --Time Skip—
At lunch that day, the Formans and Hydes sat around the table, enjoying grilled cheese and tomato soup.
Y/n was on her third bowl as she wolfed down her sandwiches.
“Hey, Y/n, mind saving some for the rest of us?” Eric asked.
“Shut up,” she snapped with a mouthful of food. “These aren’t big enough.”
“You really are pregnant, are you?” he asked.
Y/n looked at him with a deadpanned expression. “What gave it away, genius?”
“Okay, no snapping at the table,” Kitty interrupted. “Y/n, Steven tells me you’re going to start decorating the nursery. That sounds like fun.”
“Yeah, we’re going to pick out color samples today,” she responded.
“Oh,” Kitty said, intrigued. “What colors were you thinking? You know, when I had you and Eric, I painted your room gender neutral colors. It was green and orange.”
“Yeah, it was horrendous,” Red commented off-handedly.
“Excuse me?!” Kitty asked. “You didn’t even help me! I was far along as Y/n is and you refused to help me!”
“I did not!” he argued. “Every time I would come in to help, you turned me away!”
“I did not!”
“You said I was messing it up and I couldn’t do it right!”
“Well, you weren’t!”
“And now you’re blaming me!”
“Okay—you know what?” Kitty said and scooted out of her chair and stormed out.
“We were just having a complete normal conversation and she still gets mad at me,” Red said exasperated.
                                                --Time Skip—
Later that day, the gang, minus Donna, found themselves in the basement, hanging out.
“You did what to her?!” Y/n shouted at her brother.
“I swear it was an accident!” he shouted back.
“How do you accidentally almost break someone’s neck?” Hyde questioned.
“I didn’t almost break her neck!” Eric defended.
“She can barley move her neck, Forman,” Hyde said.
“Seriously, what in God’s name where you thinking?” Y/n demanded.
“I was already on page twelve!” he defended. “At that point I was a natural.”
“Oh, do you guys hear that?” Hyde mocked. “He read a book for ten minutes and is already a professional!”
“You know what? I already feel bad enough as it is,” Eric said, pouting. “You guys aren’t helping.”
“Well, we’re not here to pat your back,” Jackie piped up.
“Eric, I know I haven’t been here long enough, and please don’t take offense when I say this, but how is Donna still with you?” Markus asked.
“Funny you say that, I was just going to ask the same about Jackie,” Eric quipped.
Markus pursed his lips and nodded. “At least I didn’t almost break her neck.”
“Can’t say the same for her back though,” Kelso smirked.
Everyone stared at him in disgust.
“What?! We can joke about Hyde and Y/n’s sex life, but not Jackie and Markus’s!?” he defended.
“No, you see, we make fun of our sex life,” Hyde said, pointing to him and Y/n. “We mainly do it to freak out Forman. But you bringing up someone else’s is just plain creepy, man.”
“So, Fez, Kelso, have you guys found an apartment yet?” Y/n asked, clearing her throat in discomfort.
“Yeah, Red convinced Fenton to give us the apartment,” Kelso said, avoiding eye contact with everyone.
“Yeah, and Red seemed so happy, he was laughing the whole ride home,” Fez said with a smile.
Kelso laughed dumbly. “Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Red told Fenton that we knew a lot of chicks. 'Cause Fenton kept checking me out, like he could tell that I knew a lot of chicks.”
At that moment, the basement door swung open, revealing Bob and Donna, whose head was still stuck to the side.
“Eric, I can’t believe you crippled my angel! My pride and joy!” Bob cried out. “It’s killing me to see her like this.”
Eric’s eyebrows furrowed. “Well, then why are you bringing her here then?”
“Oh, I have a date,” Bob said, any sign of distraught gone. “Met a lady at the open house. She's got crow's feet, but she works in a sandwich shop, so I bent the rules. See you, Kitten.” He walked out the basement leaving Donna to her boyfriend and friends.
“Look, Donna, I just want to apologize again,” Eric said, eyes following her as she moved to sit down next to him. “You know, I've been thinking about it, and I don't think I ever really wanted to be a chiropractor. I was just, you know, grasping at straws.”
Donna turned her body to look at him. “You know I’d nod in agreement, but I’m paralyzed.”
“Eric, you know what I’m realizing about you? You’re not good at anything,” Kelso said, smiling at his friend’s misfortune.
“That’s not true,” Fez spoke up. “Don’t forget butt wiping.”
“What?” Y/n asked, confused.
“Don’t ask, it was a circle thing,” Hyde whispered to her.
Eric clicked his tongue in offense. “Oh, you know what? You guys suck. Whenever you're in trouble, I don't burn you. I mean, usually 'cause it's hard for me to think of things right on the spot, but also 'cause, you know, I try to help.”
“That's actually true. I mean, Fez, remember when you wanted to learn how to kiss, and Eric taught you by sticking m&m's to the mirror?” Donna said.
Everyone turned to Fez with amused grins and raised eyebrows.
“What?” Fez asked, sweat beads forming on his brow. “That never happened. I know how to kiss. Oh, shut it, Donna.”
“Yeah, and, Kelso, how about that time I stayed up with you all night to study for that math final. I mean, sure, nothing stuck, but, you know, I blame nature for that,” Eric continued.
“You know Forman, if you can teach Fez how to kiss and Kelso how to do math, you can probably teach anybody anything. Why don't you just become a teacher?” Hyde suggested.
“Hey, Eric, that’s a great idea!” Y/n said, excitedly. “Remember when you taught me to drive? You were so patient and didn’t give up even when I kept hitting the curbs.”
“You still do,” Hyde mumbled.
“What?” Y/n snapped.
“What?” Hyde repeated.
“I’m not a driver!” she defended.
“No offense, Y/n, but I’m afraid for you children when they’re in the car with you,” Kelso said. Y/n grabbed the nearest object by her, which was a tennis ball, and threw it at him. “OW! I said no offense!”
“Shut up, Kelso!” Y/n yelled.
“You know, that makes a lot of sense,” Donna said. “I mean, you have all this knowledge about stuff you have no ability to do.”
Eric thought about it for a minute before his face brightened. “A teacher? Well, I do like helping people. I mean, I'd love to help kids. Yeah. Like, ‘Mr. Forman.’ That just feels really great. Yeah, a teacher. That just feels so... right.”
“That’s it. Forman’s going to be a teacher!” Hyde announced. “This calls for a toast!”
They all grabbed a beer except for Y/n, who sat there pouting.
“Sorry, Y/n,” Hyde shrugged. “To Forman!”
“To Forman!” Everyone cheered.
--Time Skip-- “You sure you want these colors?” Hyde asked Y/n as they stood at the painting store. “Because you know once we paint the walls, we’re not changing it.”
“Yes, I’m sure,” she chirped. “It’s going to be so pretty.”
“Cool. It’s going to be cool,” he corrected. “But, okay.”
Y/n beamed as they bought two cans of paint.
                                             The Next Day…
The doorbell to the Forman house rang in the late morning. Red got up from the den from shining his shoes. When he opened the door, Connor and his father stood there.
Red squared his shoulders and straightened his back. “Connor, Chuck.”
“Hey, Red,” Chuck said, frowning. “I heard you threatened my boy yesterday.”
“Yeah, I did," Red answered honestly. “What about it?”
“I don’t appreciate the way you talked to him.”
“Well, that’s a damn shame,” Red responded dryly. “Is that all?”
“No!” Chuck yelled, causing Red to raise his eyebrows at him. “You apologize to him right now!”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me, Red.”
“Okay, you want me to apologize? Fine. I’m sorry that your son is a piece of no-good, smug piece of crap who takes advantage of young girls!” he roared. “And I am so sorry that I wasted my time being nice to either of you!”
“Now, you listen here, Forman—” Chuck started, but was cut off.
“I don’t know where you got this entitlement, Chuck, but you certainly didn’t get this from serving with me during Korea. And for you to come here, to my house, demanding that I apologize to you and your kid for the way he treated me daughter than you are out of mind because I ain’t do nothing for you or human garbage of a son. He’s lucky I don’t press charges against him!”
“This isn’t about your loose daughter, Red,” Chuck said. “This is about how you spoke to my boy.”
Red’s face distorted into a look that Chuck hadn’t seen the war. “What the hell did you just say about my daughter?!”
“Oh, come on, don’t be dumb,” Chuck continued. “I know you, Red, and you are so far from it. She probably had it coming. I mean, you probably heard all the stories about her. And giving her current situation, I can’t believe you’d be this blind.”
Connor stood there at the door with a smug look knowing they were getting under Red’s skin.
“Get the hell off my property before I do to you what I did to the Koreans!” Red threatened, his body shaking from anger.
“No, not until we get our apology!” Chuck demanded.
“I’ll tell you what. You get to walk out of here alive, how bout that?”
Chuck straightened his body, matching Red’s energy. “You don’t want to mess with me, Forman. You remember me during the war.”
“Yeah?” Red challenged. “Why don’t you remind me?”
                                                            Meanwhile…
Up in the nursery, Kitty, Y/n, and Steven were painting the walls, revealing it to be a beautiful light green. “You kids picked a lovely color,” Kitty complimented. “It doesn’t matter if you have boys or girls, it’s going to match either way.”
“Thank you, Mom,” Y/n responded as she rolled paint onto the wall. “And thank you for letting us paint the room. It means a lot.”
“Of course, dear. I’m just so excited to meet my grandbabies!”
Hyde got down from the latter with his white shirt covered in paint and wiped some sweat off his brow. “You know, Y/n, I don’t know if I feel comfortable with you being this close and huffing in these chemicals.”
“I’m fine, Steven.”
“I don’t know. I think maybe you should let me do the painting and then you can help with everything else once I’m done.”
“Steven, I can help!”
“Okay, well, while you two decide on that, I’m going to go get some lemonade,” Kitty announced and made her way to the door, opening it. “Does that sound—”
A yelp and the sound of something heavy thumping to the floor cut Kitty off mid sentence. “What was that?”
She didn’t wait for an answer as she and the Hydes rushed to the top of the stairs before seeing Red standing at the door, screaming.
“You want to be next?!” Silence. “Then get the hell out of here! And I better never see you two sorry asses ever again! Do I make myself clear?!”
The three stumbled their way halfway down the stairs to see what was going on. Connor was staring down at his unconscious dad with a wild and angry look in his eyes. Before he let him answer, Red slammed the front door and examined his knuckles that were bleeding. As he made his way back to the kitchen, he finally looked up to his family who was staring back at him in shock.
“Oh, hey. You—uh—may want to call an ambulance,” was all he said as he walked into the kitchen to tend to his hand.
“Red, honey?” Kitty called after him. “Red, what happened?”
“Nothing,” he responded as he made his through the kitchen and over to the sink.
The three of them followed him and saw him running cold water on his hand.
“Well, that doesn’t look like nothing!” Kitty shrieked and scrambled to get the first aid kit.
“I learned today that Chuck is just as big of a prick as his son,” Red grumbled, not daring to meet everyone’s eyes.
“Daddy…did you punch Connor’s dad?” Y/n asked.
“I did what I had to do, sweetheart,” he responded and looked at his daughter with soft eyes and smiled. “All I gotta say is, I don’t think you have to worry about that boy anymore.”
Y/n swore she could cry right there, but instead walked over and wrapped her arms around his middle. “Thank you, Daddy.
“Of course, pumpkin.” He turned the water off and grabbed the towel that was laying on the counter beside him. “Just do me a favor and don’t let any other ex-boyfriends come back to the house, yeah?”
Y/n chuckled. “I’ll try my damn hardest.”
Hyde looked over to Kitty who didn’t look happy or impressed at all. “Come on, Doll, let’s leave your parents alone and go upstairs,” he said quietly and guided his wife through the kitchen.
A beat of silence passed before Kitty spoke up. “What on earth were you thinking?” Kitty started. “Do you have any idea what could’ve happened?”
“I’m sorry, Kitty. He started saying some horrible things about Y/n and I lost it,” he explained. “I’ll tell you what, though, he’s going to need a good dentist. There’s no way he’s going to be able to put his teeth back to normal.”
“Well, in that case,” said and pointed to the table. “Sit. I need to make sure you don’t get an infection.”
It was quiet between them as she started tending to his knuckles. “Gosh, you haven’t done this since we started dating and Frankie Wallace was making passes at me during the military ball.”
“Well, what can I say? I gotta protect what’s mine.”
Her eyes glanced up to meet her husband’s before going back down to his hand. “That’s very sweet, but I think what you did was stupid.”
“What’s stupid was challenging me in my own house about my daughter. It’s not like I didn’t warn him beforehand.”
“We already don’t have a lot of friends, now we’re really not going to,” she scolded. “Red, we’ve become that house!”
“Good! Maybe those dumbasses will finally get the message! I don’t like it when my family gets threatened!”
Kitty finished up wrapped his knuckles and started putting things away. “Well, I’m just glad you’re okay.”
“I’m fine, honey, I promise.”
Kitty’s demeanor changed as she scooted closer to him. “Well, I got to make sure that my big, strong, hunk of a protector is okay. Wouldn’t want him getting hurt or anything.”
Red’s looked down at Kitty, eyes hooded. “That’s my job.”
“So, Handsome, what’re you doing later?”
Red chuckled and leaned over, kissing his wife. “That.”
They looked at each other for moment before they scurried off upstairs.
                                         A Few Minutes Later…
“Steven, honey, I’m fine!” Y/n argued. “I don’t want you to worry about me! I’m fine!”
“I’m not worried about you,” he said back. “I’m worried about the babies.”
“Quit treating me like I’m fragile!”
“You kind of are! Until my kids come out of you, it’s my job to make sure you or the babies don’t get hurt!”
“And that’s really sweet, but—” she was cut off by the sound of springs squeaking. “What is that?”
Hyde furrowed his brows in concentration as he listened. “Well, I did see your parents run into their room not long ago.” The realization finally hit them both. “Ugh, not again!”
Y/n turned to her parents door. “Oh, come on! Other people live here!”

Hello lovelies! I just wanted to do a quick update that I know it’s been a very long time since I posted the last chapter. I’m so sorry it’s been so long. I’ve had a very busy summer and bought a house! Been dealing with that and dealing with unexpected issues with said house. And now I’m battling a nasty cold. I’ve been trying to sit down and write everyday now but I’ve been so tired and am currently sitting at work. The chapter is almost over I promise. I’m so sorry it’s taken me a long time to finish but it will be finished! I’m shooting for this week!

Holy shit I didn’t even think of that. I’m not one to ship them like that but definitely friend soulmates for sure..the symbolism!!
Steve: Joined the army. Willingly allowed Erskine to give him the serum. Choose his death instead of coming up with another option (er.. escaping before the crash..)
Bucky: Was drafted into the army. Experimented on and given the serum. Fell to his ‘death’.
The way these two characters fit together. Steve is about choices and bucky is about a lack of choices. like don’t even get me started on Bucky’s muzzle vs Steve’s helmet. Bucky’s weaponry choice vs Steve’s shield. Like they’re clearly soulmates okay.

Yes it does 💕
If you don't think that fanfic writers get attached to their commenters and repeat commenters... you're crazy.
There's people who comment on my stories, disappear for months at a time, then comment when they catch up and I almost always remember their tagnames. It means the WORLD to me as a writer to have people who comment both regularly and irregularly on my stories/oneshots/moodboards.
When you guys go away for a few weeks or months... we notice! We hope you're okay and just taking a break, and when you come back rested and excited to read more stories, we're so happy to have you back.
So yes, please comment on stories even if it's once in a blue moon. You're not annoying, you're not overbearing for multiple comments or being super excited. You're helping fuel a writer to keep writing just to see what you have to say next about the next chapter! You're doing the Lord's work with your comments!
Whether you leave a Russian novel in a comment, or just go "noice", like... it makes the writer brain go !!!!!!💞
