#tall sirius black supremacy!

Note
when sirius james and remus were 12 sirius was the shortest and remus was the tallest and everyone assumed they’d follow that path until suddenly sirius was 6’5 and james was 6’2 and remus was still the same height.
Yes this is canon, you're exactly right.

So you’re saying Jack Black isn’t Sirius Coded?
🤨
I love how the way this ask is worded implies that Sirius is the real person and Jack Black is the fictional character. 😁
Let's see, then, is he?
Sense of humour ✅
Last name of Black ✅
A certain je-ne-sais-quoi ✅
Love for rock music it's canon because I said so ✅
Tall ❌
British ❌
Black hair ❌
Grey eyes ❌
In conclusion, I'd say he is quite in character but wouldn't really work in a gifset.

that poll had promising results at first and then it reached the wrong crowd again and i'm forced to see how 60% of the responses hc him as under 6'0 😭😭😭
you should make one where there's no options under 6'1 at all and let us fight the real fight out
ahahahahaha I think we're just going to have to be more aggressive with reblogs and peer pressuring our fandom friends to vote in the right direction.
VOTE HERE TO PROVE SIRIUS IS A TALL MF.
DON'T LET THE SHORT SIRIUS FOLKS WIN.
it's true though, let's fight it out with another poll:

Excerpt from Chapter 1 of New Heights, wherein Remus is very tall and this causes problems.
"Circe’s tits!” Remus’s frustrated snarl sent Sirius shooting upright in his bed, suddenly awake. From the sliver of space between his bed curtains, Sirius watched as a shirt flew across the Gryffindor dormitory to land in an undignified heap that appeared to consist of a pair of trousers and black student robes.
Puzzled, Sirius blinked sleep from his eyes and swished the curtains fully open. Remus stood, in his hunched-shoulder way, next to his dresser and looked positively livid. Sirius’s mind raced -- what had he done? They hadn’t pulled any pranks on Moony or anyone yet this year -- it was only the first day of term, after all, and Snivellus had been suspiciously mute thus far. He searched the room for the cause of Remus’s anger but only saw ripped-open dresser drawers, a hairbrush filled with tawny strands, and a faultless pair of rolled-up socks.
James poked his head out of the bathroom, untidy hair dripping wet from his shower. He looked at Sirius, his bronze shoulders heaving and falling in a clear ‘i’unno, mate’ gesture. Peter didn’t stir from his duvet, ever the heavy sleeper, so naturally the task of Sorting Moony fell to Sirius. He licked his lips, suddenly nervous-- not, he told himself, because Remus was standing about in just a pair of gray briefs-- and pushed his covers back as he stood.
“What’s all this about Circe’s bountiful beautiful breasts of legend?” he asked lightly, approaching Remus from the side-- they all knew it was dumb to try to sneak up on Moony this close to the full moon. He watched Remus’s spine straighten, accompanied by audible clicks, and allowed himself to savor the way his lean muscles rippled under the patchworked skin before he raked his eyes to the safety of Remus’s face.
When Remus turned to face him, his golden eyes were strained and he’d caught his bottom lip between his teeth in a familiar, worrying habit. Sirius pushed down the urge to pluck the poor abused flesh from his mouth and show Remus how it really ought to be treated, and refocused again on his lovely, lovely eyes. Remus grunted and gestured sharply to the pile of clothing in the corner. “Nothing fits,” he muttered sourly.
Sirius felt helpless in the face of the image before him -- Remus was even tanner than when they’d hung out over the summer and his hair had been bleached nearly blonde by the hours spent in the sunshine. He’d started to grow a tuft of chest hair around the mangled scars on his torso, a dark contrast to the golden hair that tumbled to Remus’s shoulders. A few freckles had popped up on the bridge of his nose, peeking around the smooth slickness of the scar, and only when Sirius realized he was staring again did he clear his throat to speak. He didn't know how he was supposed to endure an entire year of this.
“Didn’t you just get fitted when we met in Diagon?” Sirius asked, eyebrows raised high. He’d been there three weeks ago; he’d watched the seamstress -- not Malkin, she was far too pricey for the Lupins -- tut over Remus and adjust the hem on every item he owned, had heard her scold him for not eating enough as she had to take in his waistline again. It was an uncomfortable affair for everyone and had cost Remus’s dad a decent sum to have it all altered.
A blush colored the sharp planes of Remus’s cheeks and he looked away sharply. “Yeah, s’pose I grew… again.” The last bit came out as a labored sigh and he leaned his whole wiry frame on the dresser. The edge bit into his hip, and Sirius watched, captivated as he crossed his long legs at the ankle. He reprimanded himself roundly -- he could not be so obvious, could not be caught doing something so creepy, so he padded over to the pile of discarded clothing to increase the distance between them. He could breathe better, felt his heart rate slow down, now that he wasn’t adjacent to Moony, and felt the fog in his mind clear.
James emerged, hair dried and fully dressed except for his tie -- he’d proclaimed last night that he was going to see how long McGonagall would let him go without the "oppressive" item on -- from the bathroom and joined Sirius at the pile. “Not to worry! I’m sure Pads and I can fix you up, Moons,” James, ever the fixer, assured with a toothy smile.

Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You (R.L.)
Tumblr media
Requested: Yes
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Reader
Summary: The reader can’t stop staring at Remus and he doesn’t understand why
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: Mentions of injury and bullying, cursing
Title from: Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You by Franki Valli
The library was full and bustling with students. You sat near the back, your assignments sprawled out in front of you. And while your quill floated above your parchment, dark ink sliding off of the tip, your eyes were trained on someone across the room, your essay forgotten.
Remus Lupin sat on the other side of the library, surrounded by books and his friends. You watched as his eyebrows drew down in concentration and how he flexed his hand as he thought. The habit was familiar to you as you watched Remus quite often. It wasn’t in a creepy way but in a sad lovesick way. You were a Slytherin and the boy who had garnered your affection was a Gryffindor so it seemed as if the only way to know him was to watch him. The old house rivalry stopped most Gryffindors and Slytherins from ever interacting, so you soaked up Remus in any way that you could. So you found yourself watching him at meals and during class. You almost felt bad for how often your eyes were on him, you were almost surprised that you hadn’t burned holes into him from your stare. But to be fair, with Remus, there was a lot to look at.
Remus was tall and lanky with surprisingly broad shoulders. He was often slouched and when he was tired he’d roll his shoulders back and stretch. His hair was a golden brown with slight curls spilling from his head. It often flopped in his face when it got long and he was constantly running his fingers through it. His fingers were long and nimble with the nails bitten down and callouses against his fingertips. You often found yourself imagining what it would feel like if he slipped his hand into yours and if they were as rough as they looked or if the skin was soft.
At this moment, you found yourself staring at his scars. The way they zigzagged across his exposed skin; one down his neck, one down his cheek, carving out his high cheekbone, and one running through his left eyebrow. You thought his scars were beautiful, adding a hint of ruggedness that juxtaposed his soft nature. You wondered how he felt about them and you wished from deep in your soul that he didn’t hate them.
You knew how easy it was to hate scars. You had a nasty one that ran from the back of your knee down to your ankle, gently curving around your calf. You had gotten it when an older student had pushed you down in the courtyard in your third year. You had fallen back into a bush and your skin had gotten caught on a branch. While the pain of the injury faded, the pain of the memory had not. You wished, however naively, that the memories of his scars didn’t cause him too much pain.
He looked up from his book and caught your eye. The second he noticed your staring he glowered back at you. You flushed deeply and looked away. You had been caught staring a few times now and you had a feeling that he had found out about your feelings towards him. You nervously tucked a strand of hair behind your ear and continued with your essay.
The next time you saw Remus was in potions class. His friends had dragged him over to the table next to yours and you could only assume it was because Lily was your partner. You heard them bickering quietly as they came over.
“Do we really have to sit by them?” Remus hissed under his breath. James huffed.
“Yes, we do, Lily is over there. Now’s my chance,” he muttered back. Remus made eye contact with you and you pretended not to notice when he rolled his eyes despite the pang in your chest. James gave Lily an exaggerated wave and she just scoffed before turning back to you.
You had met Lily through Severus since he was in your house. He wasn’t your favorite person, you found him a bit creepy and his crush on Lily seemed to be a tad obsessive, but you were grateful that he had introduced you to the redhead. The two of you became fast friends, you loving her sharp wit and her loving your ambition and drive.
Lily started talking to you about the upcoming Hogsmeade trip when James called out her name.
“Oi, Lily,” he said with a smirk, “are you really consorting with the enemy?” he asked, gesturing towards you. You felt your cheeks burn and you ducked your head.
“Oh sod of James,” she replied, “Why must you always be so immature?” You smiled slightly at her words. You turned to look back up at the boys. James’s face was flushed with embarrassment at Lily’s words and Peter and Sirius were laughing at him. You stole a glance at Remus to see him glaring at you. You frowned and looked away.
You sat in the Gryffindor common room with Lily while you worked on your potions project. It was getting late but the two of you wanted to finish the project early. Lily had offered that you spend the night in her room and you had agreed. You weren’t a fan of your dormmates anyway and would jump at any chance to spend a night away from them. They were loud and brash and had no issue with loudly proclaiming their thoughts on blood supremacy. It made your skin crawl.
“Ugh I have to go to the bathroom, I’ll be right back,” Lily said, setting aside her book. You sent her a quick smile as she got up. When she was gone you continued working on your assignment. The portrait hole swung open and Remus walked in, seemingly coming back from his rounds. His eyes narrowed at the sight of you.
“How did you get in here?” he asked harshly. You shrunk under his gaze.
“Lily invited me. We’re doing school work,” you explained, gesturing down at your work. He crossed his arms.
“Where is she then?” he questioned. You shrugged.
“She’s in the bathroom,” you replied.
“I think you should leave,” he responded. Your eyes widened.
“What?” you exclaimed.
“You should leave. You shouldn’t even be in here in the first place,” he pushed.
“Now just wait a minute, Lily and I-”
“I really don’t care. Just get out of the common room and go back to the dungeons,” he said, practically sneering. Your mouth hung open in shock.
You had liked Remus because of how soft and kind he appeared to be. Everyone loved him and it was because he always wore a compassionate smile and had understanding eyes. But it appeared that you clearly would never be on the receiving end of his kindness.
“What is your problem?” you asked, feeling anger building in your chest. He rolled his eyes.
“You’re breaking the rules, you need to leave,” he retorted.
“I’m not talking about just this, what is your problem with me? You always treat me so poorly and I can’t seem to figure out why,” you answered. Remus scoffed.
“I don’t have a problem with you,” he said, folding his arms across his chest.
“So you just have a problem with Slytherin’s then?” you spat, venom filling your voice. Remus’s jaw clenched.
“I don’t particularly like blood supremacists and Voldemort sympathizers so I guess I do have a problem with Slytherins,” he said. You laughed.
“You can’t honestly think that we’re all-”
“Do you know how many dark wizards have come out of Slytherin?” he asked, narrowing his eyes at you. “Because it’s quite a large number. And the way you seem to always be snooping around and staring makes me think you might be one yourself.” You gaped at him.
“You can’t actually be serious?” you sputtered. Remus shook his head.
“Just leave before I deduct any points,” he said quietly before turning towards the stairs. You stood up from your seat on the couch.
“Now wait just a minute, Lupin,” you practically yelled. He turned around with a clenched jaw.
“What?” he spit out.
“There is nothing about Slytherin that is inherently evil! There is nothing evil about ambition or determination. Just because you have some twisted idea of what my house represents doesn’t mean that you’re right. I reckon that every house has the same chance of fostering evil. Blind bravery can be evil can’t it? And loyalty to the wrong person? And intelligence can be incredibly dangerous,” you shouted at him. Remus stared at his shoes. “And let’s not forget all the good wizards that have come from Slytherin! Professor Slughorn may be a bit odd but you can’t tell me that he’s not a good man. And for Godric’s sake! Merlin was a fucking Slytherin,” you yelled. Remus looked up at you.
“What about you then?” he asked with his arms crossed, “Where do you fall?” You swept a hand through your hair exasperatedly.
“I’m not a dark wizard you dimwit! I don’t stare at you because I’m a spy or whatever dumb idea you came up with! I stare at you because I think that you’re bloody handsome,” you yelled. Remus’s eyes widened.
“You- you what?” he sputtered. You groaned and began to gather your stuff.
“Nothing, never mind,” you answered, shoving your parchment into your bag. Remus came up beside you and grabbed your arm.
“Wait,” he said, trying to get you to stop. You pulled your arm away. You turned to storm out of the portrait hole when Lily’s voice rang out into the room.
“Where are you going?” she asked, her eyebrows furrowed. You turned to Remus angrily.
“Ask him,” you responded before storming off towards the dungeons.
A few days later you were sitting by the black lake with a book in your hands when you felt a presence beside you. You looked up to see Remus with his hands in his pockets. You rolled your eyes.
“What do you want Lupin?” you asked with venom lacing your voice.
“I wanted to apologize,” he said softly, digging his shoe into the grass. You sighed.
“And what do you want to apologize for, exactly?” you questioned with a raised brow.
“I’m sorry for being so rude to you and for insinuating that you might work for Voldemort,” He answered sheepishly. You nodded.
“Thank you,” you responded before turning back to your book, assuming that he’d walk away. Instead, he sat down beside you.
“I just- I saw you staring at me all of the time and I was confused as to why you’d even do that,” he began, “And you’re a Slytherin and I just assumed that you had some motive or something. It didn’t even cross my mind that you thought I was handsome,” he said with a slight smile. You blushed and looked away.
“I’m sorry I made you uncomfortable,” you murmured, “I didn’t realize I was being so obvious.” You stared anywhere but him.
“If I had known why you were looking at me, I wouldn’t have minded,” he said softly. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked up.
“Huh?” you said. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
“If I had known that you fancied me I would’ve just talked to you instead of coming up with an idiotic conspiracy theory,” he admitted. You looked at your lap.
“Oh.”
“And I feel so stupid for thinking that you could be so terrible. I had no grounds for it other than a dumb stereotype. I’m really sorry,” he said. You turned to him.
“It’s alright I suppose. I just don’t understand how you jumped to the conclusion that I was some sort of spy because I was looking at you,” you said with a slight chuckle. Remus ducked his head.
“I don’t know, it never crossed my mind that you might like me. I’m not exactly much of a looker,” he replied. You furrowed your eyebrows.
“What are you talking about? I think you’re quite good-looking,” you admitted with a blush. A small smile played at Remus’s lips.
“Didn’t think that anyone would ever think that of me,” he said softly, his hand absentmindedly rubbing the scar on his cheek. You frowned and reached up to remove his hand from his face. You lifted your finger and traced along the scar, causing Remus to gulp and avert his eyes.
“Well I think that you’re beautiful, every part of you,” you said as you finished tracing the pink line. His amber eyes were back on yours, a deep vulnerability shining in them. His eyes flickered down to your lips for a moment and you held your breath. Slowly, he began to lean in.
He kissed you just as softly as you always imagined he would, though it felt better than you ever could have thought. His rough hand cupped your face while you tangled your hands in his silky hair. When the kiss broke you were breathless. You watched as he ran a hand through his hair and sent you a shy smile, his freckled cheeks flushed a beautiful shade of pink. Even now, you couldn’t take your eyes off of him.

Harry Potter Clown Takes — Part 1
Because what with Rowling being persona non grata du jour re: transphobia, there is now a barrage of major clownage of her most popular work that would have been laughed at years ago. Because a character’s ideas, actions, feelings, and speech are a direct representation of the author’s ideas, actions, feelings, and speech. Because that’s just how art works. Featuring accusations of slavery apologia, faux AIDS metaphors, and whinging about Hermione being black. Spoilers, of course
“Slavery Apologia!!1!1”
Tumblr media
Among the major characters of HP, only Hagrid and Ron dismiss and mock Hermione’s activism and use those retrograde arguments. Their views are obviously not supported by the text. Amos Diggory’s bigotry in accusing Winky of conjuring the Dark Mark is made explicit in the text (Hermione defends her, Harry and Ron backs her up and Arthur Weasley agrees). Sirius very pointedly backs up Hermione when Ron complains about her activism:
“Hermione, will you give it a rest with the elf!” said Ron.
Sirius shook his head and said, “She’s got the measure of Crouch better than you have, Ron. If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.” (525).
Sirius himself is a complicated character who harbors these prejudices—or at least against Kreacher, a living reminder of his abusive upbringing. In Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore tells Harry about Kreacher lying to him about Sirius being kidnapped by Voldemort:
“Sirius did not hate Kreacher,” said Dumbledore. “He regarded him as a servant unworthy of much interest or notice. Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike…The fountain we destroyed tonight told a lie. We wizards have mistreated and abused our fellows for too long, and we are now reaping our reward.” (834).
The fountain Dumbledore refers to is the Fountain of Magical Brethren in the Ministry of Magic, which has statues of various magical creatures gazing fawningly at a tall, handsome wizard—a blatant display for wizard supremacy even Harry side-eyes. That statue is destroyed by Dumbledore and Voldemort in their battle. This is so far from slavery apologia, it’s not even funny.
Tumblr media
Goblins are…definitely…not seen as thieves??? by anyone in the text??? (Maybe Ron mentions that goblins had stolen wizard artifacts too in his typical whataboutism) and Griphook’s about-face was expected by the trio. Even justified, I think; Harry makes the hard decision in not giving Griphook Gryffindor’s sword right away (they need it to destroy the Horcruxes) and knows it is not done. If anything, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are the thieves.
Tumblr media
In no way does the book imply that Winky is worse off free than a slave. For one thing, Winky is not free. She is still a slave! She works at Hogwarts with zero wages. She has a new master, Dumbledore. Winky is not unhappy because she is no longer a slave (she is) or doesn’t have a new master (she does)—she is unhappy because she was loyal to Mr. Crouch and explicitly fond of Barty Crouch Jr. in particular. She is worried that without her, Crouch will no longer be able to control his son.
Winky’s grief is actually considered unseemly by the other house elves, implying that (to them) loyalty only to one’s master(s) to such an extent that they are unhappy serving another master is…not good. There is definite an element of brainwashing and/or social conditioning in the house elves’ attitudes towards their own slavery.
Tumblr media
Again, only Hagrid and Ron, as I recall, both of whom are portrayed as typically provincial (working-class, obviously) in their ideas of social justice. I can’t really think of any major character who defends house elf slavery or dismisses Hermione in this manner.
Tumblr media
The house elf head plaques are in Grimmauld Place, the Blacks’ ancestral home. You know, that creepy, abusive family of wizard supremacy sympathizers and radicals, a chunk of whom became literal Death Eaters. Sirius ran away from that home when he was 16 and was literally suffering depression to have to return to it. Bellatrix Lestrange, one of the most evil and deranged characters in HP, was a Black. The creepiness is precisely the point. Your lit crit is subterranean level, OP.
Tumblr media
…Is Clown OP okay? This is some serious word vomit.
I can’t even think of any moment when the gang “lost their shit” at Hermione wanting house elf representation in government. In GoF she mentioned something about magical creatures (goblins?) not being represented in government, but I don’t remember any special mocking for it from Harry and Ron. Ron mocks Hermione’s supposed newfound concern for goblins, but not the fact that she wants them to have representation in government. Citation, please?
As for the werewolf-as-metaphor-for-AIDS, it’s a de facto fandom myth. An interviewer once asked Rowling about whether Lupin’s illness could be a metaphor for AIDS. Rowling agreed that it could, but also that she did not write Lupin’s werewolf illness with AIDS specifically in mind. Her allegory was meant to be more about general “superstitions” regarding blood-related illnesses and disease-based prejudices. In any case, Lupin can’t be read as a “predatory” character in any way—or if he can, then it’s definitely a projection of the reader’s own bigotry and not anything from the text proper.
As for queercoding both Lupin and Tonks, you really need to specify what you mean by queercoding, OP. If it’s the AIDS thing, that’s been debunked already. If it’s Tonks’ metamorph abilities, they are really not described that well enough to know if Tonks can really change her appearance beyond surface-level cosmetics. It’s mostly fanon that she can. If it’s about Wolfstar, please don’t.
Tumblr media
Deathly Hallows literally had Romione finally be canon because Ron expressed concern about the house elves and getting them out of the castle. If anything, it concludes Ron’s arc of being callously dismissive of house elf suffrage to actually thinking about them first. Hermione didn’t change nor did she need to—Ron did. If anything, Hermione’s opinions are consistently held up as being right and more enlightened; she is clearly often used as an author avatar. There are legit Ron and Romione lovers on this blue hellscape who regularly take umbrage with this supposed portrayal of Ron as backward comic relief hick to Hermione’s sophistication, so this is definitely a hot take on OP’s part.
As for Hermione being black, definitely not a retcon on Rowling’s part. Her now-infamous tweet says only two things: That there is nothing in the text that says Hermione is white (not 100% true because of the “white face” part, but even Clown OP thinks that it could just be an expression) and that Rowling likes fanons of black Hermione. That’s it. This was then taken by the fandom to mean that Rowling stated that Hermione is now black because of course it did.

The Eyes Have It
@sujusfs14499 requested number 4 “God, your eyes are so gorgeous.” (She got long I’m sorry lol)
Tumblr media
You couldn’t help your giddiness as adjusted your semi-casual burgundy dress a few minutes before 6. You were getting ready to not only go to dinner but a play at the Old Globe. Severus said that if they caught the viewing he had planned there would be a chance for dinner.
You hadbeen surprised when Severus made his way into the apothecary on the a day you were working the counter, his days are usually those you’re not in. In school you’d been his best friend, class partner (when Lily wasn’t his chosen), his champion and confidante. You’d tried to be as close to him as he’d let you and without seeming like you were a lost puppy trailing after him like he’d been doing with Lily.
Not being the last one was easier said than done, but you’d done it and it served to kick James Potter in the arse hard enough for him to realize that not everything was as it seemed. Rumor had it that during fourth year, he’d gotten it into his head that he was going to prove Sev is as evil as the rest of his house. He’d sworn he was going to once and for all expose Sev for queen and country to see and quote, “Maybe then Lily will dump him as the rat he is”. This is how you heard he’d taken time during the Christmas hols to follow Sev home.
Needless to say James got more than what he bargained for when he found where Sev lived. You knew James ever the full of himself Gryffindor thought he’d find a well off half-blood maybe pureblood from a well off family, with a past of blood supremacy., literally anything that wasn’t anywhere close to what the reality of it all was. James had cornered you upon returning to school looking like a mad man demanding to know if what he’d witnessed was true. At the time you’d not known he’d gone as far as to look for actual reason to pick on Sev more than he already did. You could still remember it.
//Flashback//
“Is it true!?” James demanded.
“Is what true? What the hell could I have that you want Potter!?” You asked struggling against the grip he had on your arm.
“Have I just been making his life doubly difficult...” he said voice breaking, “Have I truly taken it to a point where an abused child cannot find sanctuary away from his hell.”
Your eyes widened as you realized what it is he wants clarification on.
“Tell me!” He yelled in begging manner, “Please...tell me I didn’t ruin a man’s life over rumors and baseless assumptions. Please...please...”
You sigh and say, “Your jealousy and brashness is what got you into this mess. You let your belief that learning about something anything makes them a bad person.”
In a very uncharacteristic display of character for him, he fell to his knees sobs wrecking his tall frame as the realization that all the “good” he thought he was doing was actually all for naught.
“If I were someone else I’d rub in the fact that Perfect James Potter valued seeker for Gryffindor and Prince of the Light bullied a child for being different,” you said voice cold causing him to flinch, “Not everyone who studies the dark arts is evil or are bound to become evil for studying something that interests them. Has it ever occurred to you that if the dark arts weren't studied we wouldn’t have the counters we have to help heal them? Or that potions to heal or treat without proper research done on dark curses?”
James looked ashamed and clearly at a loss. He'd finally come to the realization that he’d tormented an innocent for close to four years over nothing, just a need to learn and escape. Now that he knew the truth he didn’t know how he’d fix it or if it there was a way for him to make peace.
“What can I do to make amends?” He asked you pleadingly.
“I think that should be obvious to you,” you said crossing your arms.
He nodded to himself and said, “I know I need to stop with my actions and egging Padfoot onto continuing his own abuse.”
You nod sort of impressed but not believing he meant what he was saying.
“Maybe after a while,” he said voice low, “I can’t try to apologize.”
You nod and say, “Don’t think or believe he’ll forgive you. And do keep in mind you’ve been you've been chasing after his only friend.”
“Lily,” he said shock in his eyes, “They...”
“He loves her,” you said with a small smile on your face.
“And you him,” he said plainly.
“But this isn’t about me,” you said angrily, “So don’t you go thinking you can do to me what you’ve been doing to him. Believe you me James Potter I’ll get expelled before you go hurting me the way you did and have been doing to him. And for all the love and peace in the world, please don’t tell him how you or why you all of the sudden stopped...you won't like his response.”
He nodded and did even went as far as to promise that he’d do his best to keep Sirius in line along with Remus...the fact that he’d from the very beginning told them to leave Sev alone in the first place not withstanding.
You heaved multiple sighs of relief the day he walked in talking animately with Remus about something. Sev told to you about how James defended him against Sirius for the first two months of the new half term. How surprised and suspicious he was but then they got to the point of being civil with each other. You hoped that it wasn't too late for some form of friendship to blossom from this. She hoped the attacks just in time to keep him from spiraling down a hole he might not be able to get himself out of.
Sev had even introduced you to Lily! You’d wanted to size up your “competition” for a while, you’d known you weren’t anything compared to the great Lily Evans. It stung to see why it is Sev looked head over heels for her...she’s lovely to look at, she’s smart, ambitious and hard working. Not to mention they practically grew up together.
You remembered how as the years progressed his eyes would light up at the mention of Lily his heart practically on his sleeve. You’d made it clear to him, after befriending Lily, that her love for him might not be as he wants it to be. It had taken a bit but a sit down between him and Lily revealed the warnings you’d given him...this brought to you by Lily then by James who’d been told by both Lily and Sev what had happened.
It had gutted Sev the day James went to him as Lily’s ‘brother’ to ask for permission to court/date her. But he wanted Lily safe so he said yes to James leaving him with a warning that she’s stubborn enough to beat him should James have ulterior motives.
You’d had a feeling that Severus had hope for her to see him even while she was with James. Hope even when she’d accepted James’ permission to court her as the purebloods of their world do. You’d drifted some from Sev in the hope that you moved on from your crush on him to no avail...
//Present Day//
The years that proceeded all the way to seventh year went by quietly if not for the whining of one Sirius Black when the second half of the school year really kicked off. Despite his trepidation, Severus took to this change in stride. After some time walking on eggshells he’d been approached by Remus to join him and James for study group one Wednesday. He’d approached you about and you tried to be as supportive as yo could without revealing why they’d approached him in the first peace offerings in hand.
You laughed at the occurrence and remembered the time when he met you in the astronomy tower piss drunk. You’d been sitting taking notes for your class when Severus wound up and plopped himself next to you. Some slurred sweet words later and you somehow found yourself with his head on your lap your fingers brushing through his hair. And you don’t remember how it happened but somehow he’d gone from laying on your lap to kneeling in front of you his eyes caressing your face tenderly.
“God, your eyes are so gorgeous,” he said and without warning pressed a tender kiss to your lips.
Despite your shock you’d returned it before they heard the caretaker doing rounds forcing the both of you to go your separate ways. You also remember the long crying session you had in the bathroom when he came to you asking what had happened the day before since he’d woken up with the mother of all hangovers and alcohol induced amnesia.
You snapped back into reality at the sound of a knock at your door.
You gave yourself a look over to see you were pretty much done aside from jewelry.
You took the black pear set and made your way to the door as the necklace hooked itself on with a twist of your wrist.
“Good evening Severus,” you said opening the door a bright smile on your face.
He greeted you same as he always did a friendly hug and peck on the cheek before offering his arm for the both of you to leave.
The evening had started off better than you’d expected it to, the evening weather was wonderful and the chosen play happened to be one of your favorites. You were trying in vane to keep your traitorous heart from swooning every time he did or said something, with a voice you were sure should be illegal, that caused your insides to melt and tried to focus on what lay ahead. This is too good to be true...you could feel it in your bones.
The first half of the play went fantastically! It all felt and looked so romantic, like some big gesture would follow at the end of the night...no. That would not happen, not to you and not with him.
As soon as the intermission came about you’d made a mad dash for the loo hoping you had time for a drink of water and a nibble before heading back in. Little did you know that what happens afterward marked the end of what was promising to be a pleasant evening.
You walked out to be met with Severus have what looked to be a very engaging conversation with the ever beautiful Lily Evans. And despite you trying to not fall down the rabbit hole of your feelings for him, it happened anyway and the result is the overwhelming feeling of disappointment and hurt that he’d still chose h is Lily flower over you. Your traitorous brain supplied you with another thought, what if he’d brought you here with him knowing she’d be there? Your heart fell deeper at this, why torture you if he wasn’t interested in you anyway?
“Funny isn’t it?” The voice of James Potter drew you from your thoughts and darkening mood.
“That we meet here by chance?” You asked weakly wrapping your arms around you. Whether it was as a form of comfort or to keep yourself together you didn’t know.
“Well not exactly,” he said cleaning his throat slightly, “I’d let him know that the Globe was hosting a variety of wonderful plays...I never told him which and what night.”
“Mmm,” you said and drew a deep breath. You would make it through the night, you could do this.
“Why is it everyone can see how you clearly still feel for him but him?” James asked honest curiosity in his eyes before he gave you a look over nodding liking what he saw, “Merlin do your eyes look gorgeous. They contrast against your dress beautifully.”
You smiled widely at this and breathed a delighted laugh. At least you looked decent enough for such an event.
You shrugged at this but before you could say anything the smiling voice of Lily reached your ears.
“I though it was you I saw leaving the hall!”
You forced a smile on your face and greeted your friend tenderly, it wasn’t her fault Severus didn’t see you...like that.
You’d made a point to drop your defensive pose and dropped your hands to your sides. You kept an ear on what she was saying but your eyes wandered to the look of wonder on Sev’s face as he looked at her. Your eyes misted at this...at the realization that he’d never not only see you as a woman but he’d never want you either.
You felt James’ pinky wrap around your giving it a gentle supportive squeeze and calmed some. It wouldn’t do for everyone to see you break down over nothing.
“We simply must go to dinner after the show,” Lily said smilingly.
You wanted to flat out refuse but Severus had agreed for the both of you before you could.
“We’d be delighted,” he said charmingly voice soft, “It has been some time since we’ve had a proper catch up.”
You squeezed James’ finger and cleared your throat excusing yourself to the loo once again.
Once in a stall, you grabbed two squares of toilet paper and carefully pressed it on the corners of your eyes the tears falling and making you feel like stupid child trailing after her best friend and his heart only to be spurned for your attempts.
You shook with the effort of keeping your sobs from coming out and in a last ditch effort to calm down you placed your head between your knees and concentrated on your breathing. In and out...in and out...in and out.
Once calm you walked out to find yourself face to face with a clearly concerned Lily.
“I’m fine,” you said, sounding stronger than you felt despite the slight tremor in your voice.
“Then why are your eyes red?” She asked knowingly.
You shrug and inspect your miraculously still perfect makeup and said, “Had something in my eye.”
“Thestral shit,” she said, “It’s not like it seemed.”
You looked at her sadly and said, “I know...but the doesn’t mean he suddenly loves you like a brother. Magic can do a lot of things Lils, what it cannot do is interfere with the affairs of the heart.”
She nodded in sad understanding and said, “If you need a cry or to talk you know where to find me.”
You might just have to take her up on that. His greatest love or not she is still your friend. Even if her beau is the one you really need to have a chat with, he is your best friend.
You walked back arm in arm grins on your faces, hers smooth and pretty and yours forced hoping it didn’t look pain filled or worse...a wince.
The men escorted their respective ladies to their seats to finish the play. From the moment you retook your seats, you tried hard to focus on the plot. To lose yourself within the story and for a moment forget who you were sitting next to. Your attempts had proved successful until you felt calloused fingers tenderly grab your hand. Your knee jerk response was to take your hand back, there is after all no point to playing a gracious date on his behalf. The jig as they say, was up. But you left your hand in his, for what reason you didn’t know. Your heart wanted something to remember him by you supposed, but the rest of you was ready to swear at him, hit him and do horrible things just to try and get an answer for the many why's that lay at her feet.
Why can’t you see me? Why can’t you love me? Why am I not more like Lily? Why can’t I be a ginger?... At least then you’d have something to try and get his attention with. You felt the play to your core as the pivotal point drew near. Your grip tightened some around him as the plot blossomed, your anticipation, for more than just the play, reached new heights.
By the end of the play you’d forgotten the hurt, which suited you just fine to be able to survive dinner. So much for a date...
You weren't surprised to find James and Lily waiting on you easy smiles on their faces. As you made your way out James, bless him, commented, “If I didn’t know any better I’d have thought this to be a date by the looks of things.”
You felt Severus stiffen, had that not been the idea of this outing?
“Look at that!” Lily said pointing to the small shops that were around pulling you along without much warning.
You turned to look at the boys and froze, James looked like he was ready to commit murder while Severus was as blank and stony faced as ever.
“Face the window and pretend you look interested,” Lily said exaggerating her movements to make it look like they were having an animated conversation.
You followed lead and said, “Well now I know his real reason for being here.”
Lily shook her shoulders, simulating laughter, and said, “I didn’t tell him James and I would be here tonight. I know James practically gave him a shove in your direction by telling him of what the Globe had in store this week.”
You nodded forcing a bright smile on your face despite the tears that lit up your eyes.
“James told me as much,” you admitted to her, “It’s just odd! I know he comes to the shop the days I’m not there, I don’t know if it’s because he’s avoiding me or because I did something. My boss told me about a week ago about a new staff member to help on a more permanent basis along with me so that could be it?”
“I’m your new co-worker,” Lily revealed looking partly guilty, “I was going to surprise you with the news next week.”
That struck a chord and all of the sudden you were laughing. Incredulous and hysterical peels fell from your lips. Lily looked on sadly as the pieced came together.
“What so funny?” James asked a smirk playing at his lips.
You looked up to find James and Severus had made their way over to where you and Lily were standing. James looked at you a knowing look on his face while Severus looked curious.
“Lily let me know she’d be filling in the days I wouldn’t be working at the apothecary,” you say smile still in place, “I was so relieved and am so delighted to know. Sorry about the laughing, it’s just funny that we’d wind up working together in a field we both love.”
Severus glanced at you then as if he’d never known you were into potions, he should have known after seven years plus of friendship.
Not too long later, talks of getting dinner popped up. And soon enough your small group was making their way to what promised to be a cozy establishment on the muggle side of London. You’d have to make not of keeping the name in mind for next time. New memories would need to follow after this...
Severus kept your hand on his arm as he escorted you. Your mind drifted as you walked, if this had been a real date then you’d be pressing yourself to his side and putting your head on his shoulder. You would be having a meaningful conversation about anything and everything, maybe even starting the process of getting to know the adult versions of each other.
A faint grin appeared on your face at these thoughts...hope. These thoughts were your hopes personified. You “saw” his grin, “heard” his rumbled chuckles and “felt” his hand as he caressed your own on his arm on your way to dinner.
“(Y/N)?” You heard someone call.
“(Y/N)!” You looked to find Severus looking at you worriedly, his hand on your cheek, “Are you alright?”
You gazed at him for a moment the daydream ever present. It would have been so easy to fall on that...but that wasn’t the truth.
“I’m alright Sev,” you say with a grin, “Probably more peckish than I thought.”
He looked like he didn’t believe you and was about to say more when Lily brought your attention by proclaiming they’d arrived at the bistro they had in mind.
//Time Skip//
Dinner went as you’d expected it to catching up, memories from Hogwarts, slight talk of the future. You felt Severus stiffen again when James and Lily ask the both of you not only to come to their wedding but to be a part of the wedding party as well. You nodded with a bright smile truly happy for them before covering up a “yawn” giving away that you were “tired”.
Thankfully this gave Severus a reason to take you home. The bill was split and paid, you bid your friends a good night after promising to owl. In Lily’s case in the morning to plan for lunch during the week.
Severus and you apparate into your living room from an empty alleyway. You gave him a, hopefully convincing, grin as you stepped away from him to take off your shoes.
“Can I get you anything before you head out?” You asked more out of courtesy than actually fish to have him stay.
He gave you a strange look.
“What?” You asked curiously.
You’d thought he’d wanted to leave as soon as the evening came to a close. It isn’t as if he doesn’t have anything to do the next day. And to your surprise your boss needed you to come to the store in the afternoon.
“Are you alright?” He asked neutrally.
“Yes,” you said, honest but trying not to seem as emotionally drained as you felt, “Why?”
“You’ve been out of it as they say most of the evening,” he said going to stand where you were putting your purse and wrap away.
‘That happens when your feelings for someone else become more apparent,” you thought to yourself feeling more than a little emotionally drained.
“I’m probably still a bit shocked from being asked about being asked to be part of Lily’s wedding party,” you said shrugging with a small smile.
He gave a chuckle at that but he knew there was more to that.
You resisted the urge to cross your arms over your middle in a defensive pose and waited for him to reply to that.
“I never thought he’d ask me to be part of his merry band of misfits,” he said clearly feeling awkward.
“I loved the play,” you said not knowing how to get him to leave without seeming rude.
“Maybe we can go see one again sometime?” He asked eyes brightening.
You wanted to sigh and scream and shake him to see you. Yell in his face that you were right there...if only he’d give himself and you a chance but you didn’t.
“Maybe,” you said vaguely, “It’s getting late, tomorrow I have to go into the apothecary for something staff related.”
Severus nodded at this and went to apparate out when he turned to you once again and surprised you by pressing a kiss to your forehead and saying, “I was right that night in the Astronomy tower...you really do have the most gorgeous eyes.”

Next Generation Of Sacred Twenty-Eight Families : Black Family
Lacetra Lynx Black and Serpentis “Serpens” Black are the twins of Ophiuchus Black and Hersilia Black (née Slughorn) and grandchildren of Regulus Black and Acelina Black (née Selwyn).
Roots : Regulus Black was dating with Acelina Selwyn in his Hogwarts years, a girl who was a witch from a wealthy pure-blood family and one of The Sacred Twenty-Eight families and couple was loving each other very much. This relationship continued when Regulus became a Death Eater. Acelina became pregnant shortly before Regulus decided to destroy Voldemort’s horcruxes and they are married without telling anyone. Regulus told everything he planned to do to Acelina before going to his own die. He convinced Acelina to go to summer villa of Black family in south of France because he knew very well that if the purpose is reached Voldemort would kill everyone he love. Acelina gone to France and gave birth their child shortly after her husband died. She named her child Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus grew up with her mother in silence outside of the wizarding world so he did not go to Hogwarts but her mother learned him everything she know and Ophichius became a really talented wizard like everyone in his family. When the second wizarding war was over and Voldemort was died Ophichius and Acelina decided to come out and they moved in UK. This emergence create a tremendous impression among British wizarding world. After a while Ophichius Black started to work to turn back his family name in its old spectacular days and he achieved when he take back 12 Grimmauld Place from Harry Potter (when he asked Harry for taking back the house Harry accepted without any objection because he and his family did not live there and also this house always remind the death of Sirius so there was not favourite place of Harry) and officially rebuilded The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black. After this all rebuilding history ended he started to pay attention in his personal life and he met a beautiful girl with name Hersilia Slughorn. It was love at first sight in both and they got engaged in 2003. In 2004 they married with a big wedding ceremony. One year later Hersilia became pregnant and finally the twins came to the world, Lacerta Lynx Black and Serpentis “Serpens” Black.
Lacerta Lynx Black is in Slytherin in Albus Potter, Rose Grenger-Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy’s year. She is look like as cold as Snow Queen but actually she is very funny and caressing to her close friends. She is one of the most popular and the most beautiful girls of her era. She always know all the gossips around. She is a lady at most of the time with his noble look but ironically she is a party girl and like to became a little bit drunk and smoke cigarettes and also like to have her brother next of her when she doing all this things and smoke together. A little bit tired from people who think she is egoist and gossiping about her. Also tired from losers who want to become friends with her only for being famous among Hogwarts students. Sometimes she is in “bitchy” mood but most of the time she is a good girl. Some people gave to her the nickname “The Queen” but she is prefer to not saying this. She is like to wearing stylish clothes. She’s opinion about Pure-blood supremacy is a bit complicated. She is not believing that Muggle-borns or Half-bloods are unworthy of being allowed to practise magic so she have many friends who are not Pure-blood but still believe that she need to marrying with a Pure-blood wizard and carry on her blood purity. The reason of this claim for Lacerta is not arise because she wanting her children to be Pure-bloods too but arise because she wanting to carry on a family tradition. She is look like a more beautiful version of her great aunt Bellatrix Lestrange (née Black) because she is a tall girl with long, thick shiny dark hair,heavily-lidded dark eyes with long eyelashes and very strong jaw but her skin ton is a little bit lighter and her lips are thicker than her aunt. She have something attractant in her appearance. She and her brother became animagi in their 5th year at Hogwarts with a really hard work of 2 years. Her animagus form is a lynx with a lizard figure in her forhead.
Serpentis “Serpens” Black is in Slytherin in Albus Potter, Rose Granger-Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy’s year. He is noble, strong and a little bit difficult to get along but when he loves someone he loves very much. He is protecting everyone he loves but especially his sister who is loves so much. He is so funny when he is with his friend and he is kind of licentious in his relationships because he have an very attractive look so many girls are fell in love with him. He is believe that clothing is a form of self-expression and also believe that classy boys are more attractive than swaggy boys so you can see him with suits at most of the time. His sister is his best friend and they have same interests generally. His opinion for purity of blood is the same with his sister so he have many Half-blood and Muggle-born friends but he never think a serious relationship or marrying with a witch who is not Pure-blood. He is a classic Black with his great good look. He is tall and thin with black hair and dark eyes which sometimes turn to light brown. He is an animagus and his animagus form is a black snake with some little light brown parts.
Ps: I realised that I posted the original one as a foto post so I can’t edit the article as I want to but also there is already 82 likes there and its a lot for me (swh) so I didn’t wanted to delete it neither and this is why I’m posting it again )

HEADCANON :  muggle culture
Sirius has always had incredible difficulty with connecting to his family. As a child he was strong willed and defiant against any authority figures, possessing a tendency to lash out against anyone that attempted to control him. He refused to follow orders, refused to conform to the social order that his parents constantly attempted to shove down his throat, the more his parents tried to control him, the more Sirius resisted. As a child he would often do the exact opposite of what his family wanted simply out of spite and a genuine enjoyment in seeing them become increasingly frustrated and overwhelmed however as he entered his formative years, Sirius truly began to reflect on his family’s values and beliefs.
Sirius despised his home life, despised his fathers obsession with their social standings and his mothers fanatical pureblood supremacy. He never felt a part of the House of Black and found any excuse to abandon them. Shortly before he was due to receive his Hogwarts acceptance letter, Sirius ran away from home for the first time following an argument with his mother, while he was only gone for two days, Sirius fled out onto the streets of Islington and had his first proper interaction with muggles.
Sirius found himself swept up among a group of young teens couch surfing and coming into contact with an older crowd who had rock performances out of their garage. Sirius fell in love with the scene instantly and returned home with a record player and several LP’s of records either bought from or given to him from those he met. Sirius would drive his parents to the brink of hysteria playing garage rock, leaving home in the early hours of the morning and returning late at night having spent the entire day “fraternizing with the muggles”.
Orion and Walburgh would finally find peace once Sirius began attending Hogwarts. He would spend almost every holiday break at the castle or staying with the Potters and when he was staying with James, he would often Floo to London just to explore the Boroughs and catch up on the music scene taking place on the streets of London. What had begun as a petty rebellion to upset his parents, became a genuine love for the offensive or politically charged sound that came later from punk rock.
Sirius picked up a lot of knowledge on muggle culture because of his interest in their music and because he would engross himself with new groups or couch surf often even if only for a handful of days. Sirius was incapable of remaining in one place for too long but he would always return to the Potters with new stories and tall tales, often having dragged James along with him. Throughout his years at Hogwarts, Sirius’ sense of style was highly influenced by the muggle punk and rock scenes that he loved so much and after his imprisonment this remained and became only maximized with his tattoos.

Essentially a retelling of the Marauders' time at Hogwarts and beyond from the perspective of Remus Lupin, written in order to help me deal with my own issues. Remus is one of my all-time favorite characters in literature and one I have heavily related to for a long time. Canon-compliant through 1981; fanon afterward because I am tired of the trope of queer relationships ending in tragedy. Wolfstar. This fic will include mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, internalized homophobia, and body issues. Please be kind to yourself. These concepts are very prevalent in the undertones of this fic.
