♡ 💝 》 These are some of the YouTube channels that I watch the most while studying
💞 》Some of these channels also have videos on A Levels, and have videos on all exam boards
••••••••••• To be honest, I like Cognito the most, as they have these sort of animated videos, and the videos are just super easy to understand.
Amoeba Sisters is amazing, and Freesciencelessons is literally a lifesaver (except for the blue background he uses in his videos which just annoys me for no reason)
I really can’t tell how amazing both @sparknotes_ and Mr Bruff are. They have really easy summaries and explanations on books. Mr Bruff also has these videos on writing letters, essays and etc
The Crash Course has videos on like all of the subjects, and the videos are very easy to understand
The GCSE Maths Tutor’s videos are also lifesaving, as he explains everything in a way that is easy for the students to understand
For Atomi, you have to pay to watch more videos, so it is kind of a downside, but their videos are really nice anyways

18.02.19 || One of the unique ways for me to revise is to find an empty classroom at campus and expain the concepts to others in the study group. Not only you can have swell time with groupmates, you can find holes in your understanding, like itty bitty detail by writing it down on blackboard from memory. Only because of pandemic you truly realise how blackboard is an unparalled tool for studying and a space for free thinking...

What are some of your favorite writing starter kit tips🧰? - When I was a teenager I found the idea of revising poetry overwhelming😨 because I was so afraid I was going to overthink it and ruin bits that seemed even remotely good or make a crappy piece worse. - However, the thing I had to learn is that my issue wasn't really with making revisions, but with my belief in my ability to write something of value🤔. I had this intense imposter syndrome whenever my professor referred to me as a poet because I didn't feel like I deserved the honor of that title compared to my classmates who had been writing poetry for years or decades✍🏾. - I think we can get caught up in the mechanics of writing, in building that toolbox of practical knowledge. The tips here are a good starter kit for everyone dipping their toes into poetry🙂, but just remember that building the mental health drawer is just as important as the practical knowledge drawer💓. - To learn more about building the mental health drawer in your toolbox check out the link in bio. - #revision #revisiontips #poetry #poet #poetsofinstagram #poetrycommunity #writersofinstagram #poems #writer #poetsofig #wordporn #writing #writingcommunity #writerscommunity #instapoet #poets #prose #creativewriting #writers #instapoetry #igpoets #poemsofinstagram #write #poetryofinstagram #instapoem #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #impostorsyndrome #selfdoubt #selflove ------------ https://www.instagram.com/p/CR60WO3LUNB/?utm_medium=tumblr

I’ve been off for a couple of days and just catching up with this Writing Friends Challenge. Today’s question: First Draft or Revision? I hate drafting. I’m a pretty impatient person and I just want the story out of my head and on the page. I was also trained as a journalist so I draft with a pretty thin word count. For me, the real joy and fun comes from adding setting details, more emotional beats, and fleshing out the character arcs in revision. #amrevising #revisioncave #writingfriendschallenge #writingfriendschallengeJune #yastoryteller #writingfiction #yalit #kidlit #writingyafiction #writinglife #writingcommunity #revisionnotes #revisiontips #yawriter #yawriterlife #writersofinstagram #yawritersofig #igauthors #authorsofig https://www.instagram.com/p/CQgwgDKrNwX/?utm_medium=tumblr

This past week has been a blur. Last ever week at school, sleeping in the library due to complete exhaustion, emotions, graduation, tears, nerves, everything that comes with the stress of leaving school behind and starting exams in 2 fucking days lol.
Yesterday at my graduation my mum gave me a “survival pack” for exams full of yummy nibbles, 2 lamy pens, a beautiful journal and some Wild Tiger Eucalyptus balm to help me sleep. I feel like I don’t deserve any of it and it was so incredibly difficult to accept this gift bUT hey, I just graduated after 15 years of school. It’s well deserved.
These past two days I haven’t done ANY revision at all but I’m okay with that. I’ve been working really hard throughout my time at school and especially the past few months so it’s not these two days that are going to make a difference. I really think resting a little and broadening your mind a little helps, you can’t sit down with your mind oversaturated and on the verge of blowing up. So what do you do instead? WRITE, READ, PLAY ON YOUR NINTENDO, TAKE A BATH, GO FOR A WALK, OVEREAT, SMILE, TALK TO PEOPLE! :)
Anyway here’s my schedule for the upcoming 2 months :
-May 7 : Literature written (3hr)
-May 8 : Maths written (4hrs)
-May 9 : History written (3hrs)
-May 15 : Biology written (4hrs)
-May 22 : Physics written (4hrs)
-May 7 : Maths oral (30 mins)
-May 11 : Physics oral and practical (30 mins)
-May 14 : Biology oral (30 mins)
-May 28 : Literature and Grammar oral, History oral (20 mins each)

What are your issues, writer? The Fourth Step of Revision!
What are your issues, writer? The Fourth Step of Revision!
So, if the second step of revision is reading through your draft and making a nice long list of problem areas and a check list about how to potential check them and you’ve decided, “YES! I want to make the best book that I can make!” Then . . . The next step is dividing up those changes as local and global. Local issues are nice and little and easy to fix. You can do it in one scene or one…

We recently wrote a piece for @ditchthelabel & explored the idea that with knowledge comes power 💪🏼💪🏾 It might not cure a mental health issue, or a physical one, but it can help dial down the panic that often goes hand-in-hand with them and comes with confusion and fear. Take anxiety itself for example, have you ever had it so bad it feels like your heart is about to burst out your chest? Or have you ever had that feeling in your stomach that feels like it’s completely empty but also like you’re about to give birth to a baby elephant at the same time? Or perhaps you find your mind goes completely blank whenever faced with a task? If you learn about why these things happen, it means that when they do, it doesn’t feel so alien if you know what’s going on inside. So taking a few moments to read up on what fight or flight is, or what panic attacks are, and that they are caused by hyperventilation from breathing out too much carbon dioxide while breathing too fast or too shallow, all of a sudden it paints a picture of why these things happen. This can make them a lot less scary and overwhelming should they happen again, knowing it is the body’s physical response to feeling panicked, and that you are safe and can pull through it. 💛 #mentalhealth #wellness #wellnesswarrior #anxiety #anxietyadvice #anxietyrelief #anxietyhelp #anxietytips #exams #stress #examseason #examtips #revision #revisiontips #alevels #gcses

How did I got straight Es in NCEA Level 3 Statistics?
Statistics is literally the only subject I’ve never got anything less than a high Merit before. As expected, I knew I was going to get an E for my Probability Concepts external after doing lots of revision and practice. In addition to the efforts in the internals with the practice with the externals, it all adds up to an Excellence Endorsement in Level 3 Statistics.
Internals
In the written assignments, detailed elaboration, linkage to research and context is what gives you an Excellence grade. Always back your arguments with relevant research sites instead of keeping it less detailed.
Also, Our teacher gave us 4 booklets for each written assignments (internals). Link to where the booklets actually came from: Click here. They guide really well and show you what parts you need to show in the assessment, etc. It's mostly worth an Achieved, but if you want higher grade, analyze the marking schedule and highlight key words of the criteria and ask your teachers if you don't understand. Also do as much practice as you can and get regular feedbacks from your teacher.
Externals
Similarly to the external(s), learn as much content as possible then do practice questions / past exam papers as many as you can, and also mark your progress, get feedbacks from your teacher, and pick up stuff along the way that you still need to know.
Time for some throwback thursday here (LOL) - looking back at how I also got an E in the Probability Concepts mock: Click here
Back to the present, the most common Excellence questions that are likely to come out in P(concepts) exam are; relative risk, conditional probability (more than 1 likely), assuming independence, determining/discussing difference/outcomes between experimental or theoretical probability, etc.
If you want me to go in deeper detail with you about each standards, etc just contact me. Hope these helps :)
