Be kind to yourself while you do this work. Be careful about declaring failure or beating up on yourself for getting it "wrong". If we're learning from our experiences, there really is no wrong.

As someone who studied MSc in Psychology and spends a fair share amount of time reading research for my blog. I wanted to create something simple, yet entertaining for people who struggle with anxiety, yet for whatever reason they are unable to visit CBT.
Although I call this my first book, it is a mix of book and journal. Two-thirds of it is exercises that anyone who has anxiety or feels unease can use to relieve their worries. Does anyone have any advice for college anxiety? Like how do I stop myself from being so anxious. My classes start on September 6th and while that's basically a whole month a way it's approaching quickly. I'm so nervous about where I'm gonna sit, who I'm gonna talk to, and if I even belong there.
It's a community college so it's relatively small, I'm just so nervous. I'm practically going in alone bc I have only a few friends and most of them live far out or aren't going to college.
I know it's supposed to be exciting but what if my professor is a mean person? What if I somehow miss an assignment? See this is my anxiety rambling. I know I'm ready for college now, just so nervous.
Like the thought of college use to excite me but due to my depression and anxiety worsening, man idk it got bad lol.
So yea, any advice lmao

INTERNAL AVOIDANCE
Anxious people will often say that they are avoiding the highway, the supermarket, crowded places, social situations, or being too far from a safe place.
But really, anxious people are generally avoiding INTERNAL experiences. The feeling of anxiety or fear. The feeling of vulnerability or loss of control. The inner dialogue and internal thoughts about what anxiety means and what dangers it represents. The supermarket doesn't enter into it. The supermarket is just a trigger for the internal experience you want to avoid.
This might seem somewhat pointless but can inform how we approach recovery and exposure work. It's why anything that brings us face to face with the feelings, sensations and thoughts we fear (internal experiences) are opportunities to practice and move in a more productive direction.
