after mt st helens erupted and percy went missing, annabeth rarely slept or ate. at first, when she did sleep, her dreams were filled with him dying over and over again. then they began to become more realistic of him shaking her awake and standing in front of her perfectly fine, healthy, alive. those hurt worse bc when she actually wakes up there’s this split second where she believes in her heart that it was real, only to look around and find herself alone again.

Gotta be honest, the popularity of blond Percy thanks to the pjo show is driving me insane because every time I see pjo fanart, I have a crisis over what little blond boy is being depicted

thinking about how annabeth’s entire core is to be remembered and to create something that is permanent and how percy lost all his memories and had no idea who he is but still remembered her. like what the actual fuck man

one thing abt thalia and percy's dynamic that is often overlooked is that percy was punished for the same things thalia was rewarded for. there's a prophecy abt one of the big three kids? percy is treated like a liar and thief and ppl refuse to talk to him. thalia? everyone respects her (including gods!) and assumes she'll do a great job saving the world. thalia is accepted immediately at camp and threatens the place percy spent two years proving he deserves. percy wants to go on a quest to save his friend? he's an attention seeker and glory stealer. thalia? well, she's the obvious choice. thalia comes up w a plan to win capture the flag that's basically "leave everything to me" and percy comes up with a plan that's basically "if you see a good opportunity, go for it," but percy is viewed as the control freak.
what i'm saying is percy had every reason to resent thalia and he didn't. he chose not to. and thalia had every reason to look down on percy and didn't.
even when they were fighting, i never saw it as a power struggle. they were being pit against each other, and instead of doing what everyone expected them to (kronos was fully expecting thalia to kill percy), they chose to love and respect each other. because they're not their parents. they're just two kids who started cracking under the pressure but refused to break.

thinking about Nico adjusting to letting himself miss and long for the people he loves. based on these bits from the sun and the star:
" As Nico and Will followed the trogs, he thought about how much he missed Hazel. He was learning to make peace with that feeling. It was okay for him to miss people because that meant he wanted them around in his life. That idea was *very* new for him- he was used to either pushing people away or watching them recoil from his presence." *
" That was the most surreal thing of all... Was he happy? Nico wasn't very familiar with the sensation, but he couldn't deny that he felt wonderful in Will's presence. He even longed for the son of Apollo when they were apart. A funny thing had happened as the two grew closer: Nico suddenly understood all those cheesy, sappy love songs he'd always hated."

It's funny seeing people say that "we would have all joined Luke" with every new episodes that comes out that shows how awful the Gods are as parents when the point of the books and Percy is that Luke WAS right but he chose the wrong way to do things. Luke joined another evil to punish the Gods, betrayed his friends and basically only family and caused them pain and even the death of some of them.
Percy said fuck the Gods but he was against sacrificing others senselessly. He still hated how tings were but he fought so he could make changes in a positive direction instead of burning everything and everyone in his way.
So of course Luke was justified in his hate for the Gods and the way they carelessly abandoned and ignored their children, we have always known that. Percy always agreed to that. But in the end Luke himself realized he was wrong in how he tried to change that.

I know Percy's desperately trying to escape the godly world but not only do I think the gods aren't going to leave percy alone once he's in New Rome, I also think Percy's in the situation now where he can't refuse at all because like, if he was in the mortal world at a mortal college he at least would be able to try and be like "sorry I can't do a quest right now I've already used up my three excused absences this semester try again in the spring :/" but in New Rome? They will be like "Percy! It is an honor to be hand-selected for a quest. And by the gods no less! Stars above, you should be grateful! I don't know what your little greek camp has taught you but here in Rome, we respect the gods' requests. Your absence will be excused. Now go."

Nico, over Iris message: So how is school? Do you hate it yet? Are you coming back soon?
Jason, laughing: I actually really like it, it’s so different from New Rome and Camp Half-Blood.
Nico, vaguely disappointed: That’s good.
Jason: More importantly, how’re you? What have you been up to lately?
Nico, shrugging: Will showed me how to do more things on the computer in the big house.
Jason, encouragingly: That sounds fun.
Nico: I visited you on Google Maps.
Jason, fighting his smile: That’s actually very sweet. Thank you.

i need to stop being reminded that the seven are canonically very awkward around each other and hardly talk at all.
let me live in my sunshine rainbow world where they're all friends, are each other's 'found family,' where hazel, piper, and annabeth are best friends, where leo, jason, frank, and percy are like brothers, where jason and piper never existed, where hazel and piper were actually friends (that they should've been), and leo and percy are the most sarcastic and funny people you've ever met (and they make each other even funnier)!!!!!

This might be a hot take, but I actually like that Percy figured out Luke was the traitor at the last minute. There were A LOT of clues that would’ve been hard to ignore, and he ignored them for as long as he could. And it’s clear that even after accusing Luke, he’s still surprised and heartbroken at Luke’s confirmation of his suspicions. He was holding out hope, guys!!
Also, the Betrayal Scene flows better as an exchange of dialogue and a swordfight than it did, in the books, as a monologue and a scorpion sting. This also leaves a bigger impact on the viewers and characters because it’s more emotional.

I think that Percy should've been kidnapped after finding out that Sally is a few months pregnant. So when Percy gets his memory back in SoN, he remembers her telling him that he's gonna have a little baby sister or brother, and that becomes a huge point of strength for him to make it back home. He needs to survive to finally meet his little sibling. That thought carries him through Tartarus, through Annabeth acting like he's a monster and crying/begging him not to use his powers, through seeing horrific gods: Tartarus, Nyx and the edge of chaos. And then one of the final scenes of HoO is Percy literally running home, knocking on the door and Paul or Sally answers with little baby Estelle, only a few months old in their arms.

Percy’s love and admiration of Sally just makes me tear up every time I think about them. Percy literally went to the underworld and defied the gods to get his mother back. Sally making a point to ensure Percy knew who he was so that when it was time for him to join the world of the gods, he wouldn’t be swayed. The way Percy can acknowledge that his mom did her best despite everything and appreciates her. He finally meets his dad and all he wants to know is if he loved his mom. Their relationship is the backbone of the first book and Sally is who made Percy the way he is. I literally cant wait to see what they do with them next season.
