everlasting ink harry potter/ginny weasley teen | 6.2k words

‘blood is thicker than water,’ they all muttered, conspiratorially, when percy left. but, ginny will think, as delphini manages to turn harry into a teddy bear and run into the crystalline stream, water is just as life-giving as blood.

ginny weasley has always been a magnet for dark-haired orphans. what's one more?

this piece was written for week ten of @ladiesofhpfest, on the theme of daughters [you can find the masterlist for this week's fics here].

as i’ve said elsewhere about this piece, i am not ordinarily a hinny fan. i am a sweety, though, and was perfectly happy to be the sort of lovely lass who would write noted twee hinny girly @whinlatter her favourite couple, as a treat.

i've also written her some notes.

my reasoning for thinking that harry and ginny don’t really work is that, frankly, i think ginny deserves better. after all, she spends most of the seven-book canon being kept at arm’s length from harry’s mission - with a brief, and iconic, burst of forcing her way in during order of the phoenix - because he spends books one to four not really interested in her (which, fair, i tried to hang around with my brother’s friends when i was little and it was not well received) and because he spends books six and seven actualising her into a place of safety, a person who needs to be protected, rather than his supporter and equal in the task he has been dealt.

as i’ve written about many times - and as i’ve had numerous enjoyable conversations with @ashesandhackles about - i cannot even imagine how furious i would have been if i were ginny, to discover that my boyfriend seemed to be constitutionally unwilling to acknowledge that i spent the period in which deathly hallows takes place as a resistance leader in my own right.

but above and beyond this, i also think that the pre-epilogue harry is remarkably self-centred when it comes to his trauma. i don’t think this is malicious - or even particularly intentional - but i always find it striking that harry believes himself to be the only person of his acquaintance who is badly affected by dementors, or whose family was hunted down by the death eaters, or who was devastated to see sirius die.

or who was manipulated by tom riddle.

harry’s relationship with the young voldemort is incredibly interesting, not least for the way in which he separates this voldemort (attractive, orphaned, at home in hogwarts) out from the one who killed his parents. that harry understands and empathises with voldemort’s issues - especially his colossal childhood trauma - better than dumbledore does is one of the key themes of the series, and it is - of course - one facet of the purity-of-soul which makes him the books’ hero.

but it is also something ginny can’t ever relate to. after all, the voldemort that ruined her life was the one that harry feels sorry for.

the shadow of ginny’s first year is something which is glaring in canon by its absence. this isn’t, i think, harry’s fault, and nor do i think it’s jkr’s - that chamber of secrets needs to resolve itself neatly with an ‘and then everything was fine’ is a genre convention, since the book is children’s literature. but i do think that it’s something which is really valuable to explore.

because we do get hints that ginny is traumatised by her experience with riddle’s diary even when the books are still conforming to the conventions of children’s stories - above all, as mentioned in everlasting ink, that she seems to be equally as affected by the dementor on the train in prisoner of azkaban as harry is.

and yet all the attention goes to him.

everlasting ink was, then, an attempt to deviate from my usual way of looking at this tension in harry and ginny’s relationship (break them up) and choose a different path (keep them together and happy). and i only had to scream into a pillow once or twice to get that done.

harry does not, i think it’s fair to say, initially appear to be acquitting himself well in the rekindled relationship. he throws himself into being the saviour of the world with a righteousness which blinkers him to anyone else's needs, he never asks ginny about what she is going through, he continues to view her as something to protect, he doesn’t dream about her when he’s reliving his almost-death, and - perhaps worst of all - he foists a daughter on her without asking.

[but perhaps we can forgive him this - after all, he doesn’t really have any experience of motherhood which isn’t sacrificial, or mothers who make their children something other than the entire focus of their self-conception. although i do still think he might have spent a little bit of time thinking about why plopping a toddler with the patented riddle face (those muggle genes are strong, lord voldemort is turning in his grave) on his girlfriend might not have been the best idea he’s ever had…]

this is the part of the author’s note where i out myself as a delphini stan account. [i think her conception makes sense! the entire point of the series is that lord voldemort can't outrun basic human biology! it’s not his fault that he was daydreaming about horcruxes when slughorn was trying to teach him sexual education!] the bellamort baby is a great little plot device for an examination of all sorts of people’s post-war neuroses, and she’s really delivering here, providing a little window not only into harry and ginny’s relationship but into ginny’s wider understanding of her position in her family.

it’s always struck me that ron’s belief, expressed in deathly hallows, that ginny is the favourite child doesn’t seem to be reflected in canon (the favourite child, by quite some distance, is clearly bill). which isn’t to say that ron’s feelings of neglect are invalid - he clearly is overlooked! even though his parents love him and are trying their best! in particular, i've always noticed that ginny’s suffering during her first year doesn’t make her special within the family - as she points out in this piece, nobody ever remembers that she nearly dies.

but there is also a gendered implication to what the locket spills about ron’s darkest secrets - that he thinks that ginny is special within the family solely because she is a daughter. and i have always wondered how that experience - of being the last and longed-for girl to make the family complete - might weigh on her.

so the main familial relationship examined in this piece is the mother and daughter one: ginny and delphini; hermione and rose, and - of course - ginny and her own mother.

i’m always struck that molly weasley must - like her narrative mirror, narcissa malfoy - be quite lonely. this is, i think, not exactly what the narrative wants us to read her as: the text sets her up as central to the weasleys and pseudo-weasleys’ worlds, and most scenes set at either the burrow or grimmauld place take place around mealtimes, with kitchens and dining rooms cast in the story as molly’s domain. and, while this association of good mothers with domestic labour is something i am critical of in the series, i do acknowledge that it makes narrative sense in a way which evidently isn’t intended to be condescending. the weasleys are harry’s first experience of the family life he desires above all else, which - naturally - features as its maternal figure someone who is the polar opposite of the detached, brittle, and cold petunia.

but, on the other hand, the narrative excludes molly from the rest of the family once the domestic sphere is left. she is the only one of them not to like quidditch (there is, after all, no meaningful reason why she would miss the world cup if she did), she doesn’t seem to have any friends of her own (whereas arthur, who seems to be sincerely popular in the ministry, does), and the child with whom she is most aligned - percy - is estranged from her for much of the series. in terms of personality, she lacks the daring streak which defines the other weasleys, she is more interested in social convention, and she is less flexible in how she defines things like ambition or success.

and i think it’s worth noting that this loneliness is gendered. all of the weasley children - and arthur - help out around the house, absolutely, and i don’t think that it’s ever possible to suggest that ron and his brothers become the sort of boors who don’t lift a finger while their wives do everything; but molly’s place within the family is still defined by providing. she is a table or a hand-knitted jumper or a cake. and the rest of the weasleys, who go out and live active lives away from the home, are not.

i always wonder if this is something we’re supposed to read behind molly’s dislike of fleur. that, maybe, she was hoping for a daughter-in-law who would be a kindred spirit, and gets instead someone who considers any sort of domestic role to be beneath her. it is, undoubtedly, also something which features in her relationship with ginny.

and so everlasting ink deals with ginny maturing from an adolescent chafing against her mother’s experience of womanhood - which she sees through her child’s eyes as meaning playing with dolls and being a housewife - into something which understands the complex web of dreams and disappointments which drive molly’s life, and which enables her to embrace the similarities between the two of them she might have once run from.

because they are very similar. above all, i always think that the canonical ginny must also be quite lonely. we are told she’s popular, but all of her friendships seem to be tenuous - she never writes to or visits anyone, harry never notices her with a particular close friend, she spends a full summer not seeing her boyfriend (an insult from jkr towards dean’s canonical rizz).

in particular, i never feel that her friendship with hermione is as close as fanon makes out (nor, indeed, as close as harry suggests it is in half-blood prince - he should have a think about how likely it seems that hermione has any time for other friends when she’s locked in a codependent triad with him and ron), and my view has always been that post-war ginny and hermione would take a long time to become comfortable with each other. some of this is just due to them having to learn how to let their opposing personality traits work together (ginny has no interest in hermione’s constant desire to argue, push, and debate - she’s going to see it, like harry does, as nagging and meddling), but it’s also due to the fact that neither of them can really relate to the defining experiences of the other’s life in the way teenage girls might ordinarily be expected to be able to.

but they get there. even if bitching about their daughters is the way they have to do it.

the harry potter series’ quasi-mystical view of motherhood means that it has a tendency to treat adoption as something negative. we have three examples of kinship adoption in canon - harry’s by petunia, neville’s by his grandmother, and teddy’s by andromeda - and all come about because of a tragedy in which the biological mother sacrifices herself for the anti-voldemort cause.

all three are also treated as something which is a cause of suffering to the adoptee - which, crucially, the series thinks is a good thing. harry’s neglect by the dursleys is considered character-building, and his orphanhood is set up several times in the text as the cause of his ability to understand love.

[on the flip side, voldemort’s own orphanhood is not permitted to be an excuse for his own struggle with the concept of love, and the narrative blames merope gaunt for not staying alive for him, by implying that she could simply have chosen not to bleed to death in childbirth if she’d had little of lily potter’s courage.]

but adoption is neutral. it happens for all sorts of reasons and it provokes all sorts of emotional responses in the people involved. and so it was important to me to show that ginny went on a journey from feeling as though the fact that delphini wasn’t her biological child was a bad thing to not caring about that in the slightest, and that all four potter children grow up equally loved by their parents and extended family.

more specifically, i wanted to focus on ginny choosing not to care about things like the tragedy of orphanhood to the detriment of being happy and silly. i talk a lot about how i find the aspect of love which the harry potter series focuses on - love as suffering and sacrifice, love which is rooted in loss, love which has, to some degree, an element of fate behind it - insufficient. the canon narrative rarely approaches love as something comforting, pleasurable, self-indulgent, or fun - indeed, harry and ginny’s brief burst of a love which is all of these things is snatched away at the end of half-blood prince so that harry can focus on love-as-sacrifice - and it also rarely approaches love as something people choose. love drives characters’ choices - snape chief among them - but the text tends to imply that these choices were made because the love itself was innate and unstoppable.

but that’s kind of bullshit. in the vast majority of relationships we have in our lives, love - whether romantic, platonic, or familial - is a choice freely and constantly made. love as a choice - above all, how love is a very strange choice - is a key theme in everlasting ink, both from the perspective of harry and ginny’s decision to make their relationship work and from the perspective of them becoming part of a sprawling post-war found family.

this gave me a chance to explore one of molly’s most underappreciated traits - that she is someone who collects waifs and strays, and that she is extraordinarily generous in how she opens up herself to these people. i think this is often missed in fanon criticism of her for meddling or being overbearing in the lives of people who aren’t her immediate family - particularly in relation to sirius in order of the phoenix. i wanted her to be the source of the idea that ‘water is just as life-giving as blood’, and for her obvious affection for delphini to be a turning point in ginny’s relationship both with her own role as a mother and with her role as a daughter.

in particular, i wanted it it to change how ginny thinks about heredity.

having to learn that your children have lives outside of you is a complicated experience for all parents, but for the parents of adopted children there is the additional complication of knowing that your child has the right to uncover who their biological parents were, no matter how painful that might be. for harry and ginny, this means becoming comfortable with the idea that delphini might want to have a relationship with the malfoys, or to speak to rodolphus lestrange about her mother, or to think positively about her father.

this would be difficult for them to face. obviously. but i think it would also be healing for them to realise that lord voldemort was not just a one-dimensional caricature of absolute evil but also someone with lots of admirable personality traits. (nor that the positive experiences which they - ginny especially, you can prise the headcanon that they were sincerely bffs from my cold, dead hands - had with him based entirely on lies). delphini is - both physically and in terms of personality - exactly like him, which means that she is funny and theatrical and daring and cunning and possessed of a great taste in tattoos. [he is also, as fans of the asenora cinematic universe will know, the source of her sweet tooth.]

the same is true of bellatrix - that she is very like both andromeda and tonks is a headcanon i’m wedded to, and i like the idea of harry and ginny coming to see her with more nuance as they begin to understand what she had in common with two women they adore.

[i’m not sure they ever get over delphini not liking quidditch, though - but i think they can both begrudgingly respect that voldemort learning the principles of unaided flight because he was terrible on a broom is iconic.]

for fleur, it’s her as the master of the backhanded compliment/queen of making everyone uncomfortable with her public displays of lust for her husband all throughout early hbp. checking herself out in a spoon and saying tonks looks mid these days. icon

and charlie… him and bill bashing those chairs together in the air at the burrow in GoF has my heart forever 🥹

18. What they’d go see a therapist about

the honest truth is that likely none of them would see a therapist because they are british and french people born in the 1970s. but if they did…

bill would go about his fears about blood contamination/his children won’t know his face before his scars, but actually end up talking a lot about his role between his parents and his siblings, and the emotional impact of the parentification of the oldest child

fleur would go as part of a mother-daughter session because she had given victoire and dominique body image issues lmao

charlie would go to talk about why he moved to romania. like why go straight from school to remote transylvania away from people… what are you running from babe???

Head's up: This post is an ode to Arthur Weasley and Ron and Harry's friendship.

Ron really said I'm gonna make you part of my family you like it or not. He wrote at least TWELVE TIMES. THE COMMITMENT. Also, Harry's sass is on point.

So the twins and Ron know how to pick open a lock, which leads me to believe that all the Weasley siblings can, but most importantly, they talk about knowing muggle tricks. My natural and totally logical conclusion? Arthur Weasley taught them. I SAID IT.

Oh really? And yet I recall not a chapter ago you saying even news from Malfoy was better than nothing. Huh.

Percy is a cool nerd and the king of time management. He already has a girlfriend before any of his siblings (in school, Charlie is ace in my heart and Bill is too hot and independent to be single and not ready to mingle), and no one in his family suspects a thing.

HAHAHHA ARTHUR PLEASE!

Molly fattening Harry is one of my favorite canon dynamics. I always love to read it in fanfics and add it to what I write.

Not ONE girl has been called very good-looking yet (I think?). Harry "bi-who-lived" Potter my beloved. Also, I am forever mad at the fact that the movies never gave us HOT Lockhart. We were robbed! They also never gave us hot twink Firenze so what was I expecting (see thereaderarchive reads PS part 9).

When kreacher is muttering under his breath about everyone in grimauld place, he says a thing about Fred and George, and the way they react and respond gave me many Thoughts™️

So, I know they’re very charismatic and confident people, but the way they speak (maybe it’s just the way Steven Fry reads it) makes it seem like they’ve dealt with bullies and whisperers and stuff before. And it makes me wonder: were they always so popular? We’re the twins, when they first arrived at hogwarts, considerably UNpopular? Did they have many friends at first? Did people think they were freaks, because of how identical they are? Did people make fun of them because of their bad grades? Did they only flip that switch when they did their first (public) prank on a generally-disliked teacher (maybe whoever the dada professor was that year?), or on a much-hated student?

And if they always were that popular, maybe they’ve had to defend their siblings before. Maybe people whisper about percy being so uptight, and it’s one of those “I can make fun of my siblings but that doesn’t mean you can” situations, and they learn how to talk back to the whisperers in a way that gets them to stop. Maybe percy never knew about any of this.

Maybe people much older than them whispered about charlie Weasley and his weird obsession with reptiles and how he’d never had any romantic partner at all. Maybe tiny 11 year old Fred and George rebelled against those whispers, with awesome and sarcastic and iconic responses. Maybe the whisperers never whispered about Charlie again once they’d been told off by the identical first years with matching expressions of pure hatred on their faces.

Maybe people would whisper about nasty things about Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the boy who would be coming to hogwarts the following year. Maybe Fred and George helped the boy with dark and messy hair and broken glasses and oversized clothes to spread a message to everyone who saw: “this boy is under our protection”, and everyone would immediately back off, despite the twins being mere 3rd years. Maybe they did that without knowing who he was, maybe they noticed Harry because they saw a boy who was alone and afraid and amazed and who was the formula for being picked on, and they decided they would not let this child be bullied by anyone.

Maybe Fred and George heard whispers about his brother Ron and his absurdly long nose or his lanky and gangly build or his too-short robes. Maybe they would secretly shrink the robes of the whisperers, maybe they would slip an appearance-changing potion into that persons morning pumpkin juice, making their own nose either shrink or grow, hour by hour, enough to make the whispers stop. Maybe Fred and George would do a public spectacle/prank, claiming they can recreate the story of Pinocchio. Maybe they would choose a whisperer to be their “test subject”. Maybe they would pretend to give them some kind of Pinocchio potion, but really it’s truth potion. Maybe the person would answer all of the questions truthfully, but after each one, one of the twins discreetly lengthens their nose. Maybe everyone would think this person always lies. Maybe everyone stops listening to their whispers about Ron weasley’s nose.

Maybe Ginny Weasley was made fun of for various things and Fred and George defended her ceaselessly, without her knowing. Maybe ginny eventually thought she made the whispers stop simply by being herself. Maybe she became so much herself that she started stepping outside her carefully drawn box of Things She Does, and maybe she became so bad*ss because Fred and George were there for her and she didn’t even know it.

Maybe Fred and George are just awesome and used to defending bullies and that’s why they say the things they say to kreacher in the way that they do.

Or maybe I’m completely wrong about all of this and I looked too far into it and I just wasted a half hour I could’ve spent sleeping.

But, you know what, I created some new F+G headcanons/fic inspiration. If you happen to want to use any of this at any point, feel free. You can give me credit if you want but you don’t need to.

Oh also here’s the part I was talking about that inspired this entire thing (apologies for any mistakes, I listen to the audiobooks)

“Hello, Kreacher,” said Fred very loudly, closing the door with a slam. The house elf froze in his tracks, stopped muttering, and gave a very pronounced - and very unconvincing - start of surprise. “Kreacher did not see young master,” he said, turning around and bowing to Fred. Still facing the carpet, he added, perfectly audibly, “Nasty little brat of a blood traitor it is.” “Sorry?” Said George. “Didn’t catch that last bit.” “Kreacher said nothing” said the elf with a second bow to George, adding in a clear undertone “And there’s its twin. Unnatural little beasts they are.” […] ”Don’t call her a mudblood!” Said Ron and Ginny together, very angrily. “It doesn’t matter,” Hermione whispered. “He’s not in his right mind. He doesn’t know what he’s— ” “Don’t kid yourself, Hermione. He know’s exactly what he’s saying,” said Fred, eyeing Kreacher with great dislike. […Kreacher muttering about how Harry defeated Voldemort…] “Kreacher wonders how he did it.” “Don’t we all, Kreacher?” Said Fred. “What do you want, anyway?” George asked.

and then Sirius enters and I can’t be bothered to type out anything more. That’s from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 6: The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, around the middle of the chapter, if you were wondering and wanted to look it up to find more things I might’ve missed to turn into Thoughts™️ of your own, idk.

I’m gonna go to sleep now cos it’s 1am

Ooh I love being tagged in stuff, so let's see what we've got.

Top 3 ships

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a big shipper, but I can and will get behind any pairing with a fun dynamic or interesting story. I dont really have OTPs. And of course the ships I focus on change wildly depending on my mood.

1. Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy (DC): I have a lot of DC ships that I love seeing both in comics and in fanfiction, but these two are not only iconic but also fun. They're like top tier romance 24/7. And they are one of the few ships i have where splitting them up/pairing them with other people just doesn't work for me.

2. Percy Weasley/Oliver Wood (HP): this is one of those weird pairings that I don't remember when or why I started shipping it, but I have adored them since I was probably a preteen. They were roommates, they had a jock/nerd dynamic, they didn't get enough love in the books or in the fandom and I just latched onto them. They give me brain worms and I'm not sure why.

3. Merlin/Arthur (BBC Merlin): I'm such a sucker for stories about magic and destiny and medieval fantasy that this show and this ship just hit a sweet spot for me. Also the fandom especially for this ship, has so many wonderful stories capitalizing on all the what ifs and almosts that just pull me in.

First Ever Ship

This is a tough one, and honestly I'm not even sure. But the first ship I clearly remember having was probably Ron/Hermione back when I was in like second grade. I distinctly remember my older sister finding Harry Potter fan sites and printing off fanfiction for me to read.

Last Song

Bad Guy by Set It Off. I've been low key obsessed with this band and would recommend other people give them a listen

Last Movie

Glass Onion. I finally watched it after seeing so many posts about it. It was really good and i think anyone who enjoys a good mystery would like it. We had a family movie night and had a blast!

Currently Reading

Technically I haven't started it yet but I'm going to read Every Heart A Doorway. I am so stoked about it because I've heard nothing but good things about it!

A cupcake that we made for my friend's birthday! It's chocolate and gluten free!

Favourite Ron moments:

1. Ron and Hermione’s first kiss (+ Ron worrying about the House-elves 🥺)

"Hang on a moment!" said Ron sharply. "We've forgotten someone!"

"Who?" asked Hermione.

"The house-elves, they'll all be down in the kitchen, won't they?"

"You mean we ought to get them fighting?" asked Harry.

"No," said Ron seriously. "I mean we should tell them to get out. We don't want any more Dobbies, do we? We can't order them to die for us—”

There was a clatter as the basilisk fangs cascaded out of Hermione's arms. Running at Ron, she flung them around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron threw away the fangs and broomstick he was holding and responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet.

Romione has my heart.❤️❤️ Also, the fact that he swept Hermione off her feet both metaphorically and literally?? Such a gentlemen.

2. Ron’s bravest moment.

"No, Harry!" Hermione gasped in a petrified whisper; Ron, however, spoke to Black.

"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" he said fiercely, though the effort of standing upright was draining him of still more color, and he swayed slightly as he spoke.

MY PRECIOUS ANGEL 😭❤️❤️

Go fuck yourself, Movie!Hermione. THAT QUOTE BELONGS TO RONALD BILLIUS WEASLEY.

The fact that he stood up to whom he thought was an insane, dangerous mass-murderer who also managed to break out of a demon prison, on a mauled, broken leg and then proceeded to wrestle said mass-murderer to the ground, just to protect his best friend.

If you look up true friendship in the dictionary you’ll find a picture of Ron and Harry. (Source: trust me bro)

3. Standing up to Snape while also being fucking hilarious.

The whole class looked around at Harry, who hastily tried to recall what Dumbledore had told him the night they had gone to visit Slughorn. "Er—well—ghosts are transparent—," he said.

"Oh, very good," interrupted Snape, his lip curling. "Yes, it is easy to see that nearly six years of magical education have not been wasted on you, Potter. 'Ghosts are transparent.'"

Pansy Parkinson let out a high-pitched giggle. Several other people were smirking. Harry took a deep breath and continued calmly, though his insides were boiling, "Yeah, ghosts are transparent, but Inferi are dead bodies, aren't they? So they'd be solid—"

"A five-year-old could have told us as much," sneered Snape. "The Inferius is a corpse that had been reanimated by a Dark wizard's spells. It is not alive, it is merely used like a puppet to do the wizard’s bidding. A ghost, as I trust that you are all aware by now, is the imprint of a departed soul left upon the earth, and of course, as Potter so wisely tells us, transparent."

"Well, what Harry said it the most useful if we're trying to tell them apart!", said Ron. "When we come face-to-face with one down a dark alley, we’re going to be having a look to see if it's solid, aren't we, we're not going to be asking, 'Excuse me, are you the imprint of a departed soul?'"

He’s so witty I love him. And yes, to answer what’s going through your head right now; this was an intentional way for me to squeeze in Snape’s iconic sarcasm in this answer.

4. Him joking about Percy not being able to take a joke.

"Don't let Percy hear you saying that," Hermione said, smiling slightly.

"Yeah, well, Percy wouldn't want to work for anyone with a sense of humour, would he?" said Ron, now starting on a chocolate eclair. "Percy wouldn't recognise a joke if it danced naked in front of him wearing Dobby's tea cozy."

Lmfaoo, why’d he have to do Percy like that? XD

5. Roasting Kreacher.

"Who's Kreacher?"

"The house-elf who lives here," said Ron. "Nutter. Never met one like him."

"He is not a nutter," said Hermione.

"His life's ambition is to have his head cut off and stuck up on a plaque like his mother," said Ron. "Is that normal, Hermione?

I died laughing every time I read this. I can’t with him 😭

6. Him defending Hermione from Snape (and yes I’m adding another moment cause Ronald’s an amazing friend)

"That is the second time you have spoken out of turn, Miss Granger," said Snape coolly. "Five more points from Gryffindor for being an insufferable know-it-all."

Hermione went very red, put down her hand, and stared at the floor with her eyes full of tears. It was a mark of how much the class loathed Snape that they were all glaring at him, because every one of them had called Hermione a know-it-all at least once, and Ron, who told Hermione she was a know-it-all at least twice a week, said loudly, "You asked us a question and she knows the answer! Why ask if you don't want to be told?"

Now, onto the Peter moments:

1. The Rebirth of Lord Voldemort

It is ready. Master."

"Now . . . " said the cold voice.

Wormtail pulled open the robes on the ground, revealing what was inside them, and Harry let out a yell that was strangled in the wad of material blocking his mouth.

The thing seemed almost helpless; it raised its thin arms, put them around Wormtail's neck, and Wormtail lifted it. As he did so, his hood fell back, and Harry saw the look of revulsion on Wormtail's weak, pale face in the firelight as he carried the creature to the rim of the cauldron.

[…]

And then Wormtail lowered the creature into the cauldron; there was a hiss, and it vanished below the surface; Harry heard its frail body hit the bottom with a soft thud.

[…]

Wormtail was speaking. His voice shook; he seemed frightened beyond his wits. He raised his wand, closed his eyes, and spoke to the night.

"Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son!"

The surface of the grave at Harry's feet cracked. Horrified, Harry watched as a fine trickle of dust rose into the air at Wormtail's command and fell softly into the cauldron. The diamond surface of the water broke and hissed; it sent sparks in all directions and turned a vivid, poisonous-looking blue.

And now Wormtail was whimpering. He pulled a long, thin, shining silver dagger from inside his cloak. His voice broke into petrified sobs.

"Flesh — of the servant — w-willingly given — you will — revive — your master. "

He stretched his right hand out in front of him - the hand with the missing finger. He gripped the dagger very tightly in his left hand and swung it upward.

Harry realised what Wormtail was about to do a second before it happened — he closed his eyes as tightly as he could, but he could not block the scream that pierced the night, that went through Harry as though he had been stabbed with the dagger too. He heard something fall to the ground, heard Wormtail's anguished panting, then a sickening splash, as something was dropped into the cauldron. Harry couldn't stand to look . . . but the potion had turned a burning red; the light of it shone through Harry's closed eyelids. . . .

Wormtail was gasping and moaning with agony. Not until Harry felt Wormtail's anguished breath on his face did he realise that Wormtail was right in front of him.

"B-blood of the enemy . . . forcibly taken .. . you will. . . resurrect your foe."

Harry could do nothing to prevent it, he was tied too tightly. . . Squinting down, struggling hopelessly at the ropes binding him, he saw the shining silver dagger shaking in Wormtail's remaining hand. He felt its point penetrate the crook of his right arm and blood seeping down the sleeve of his torn robes. Wormtail, still panting with pain, rumbled in his pocket for a glass vial and held it to Harry's cut, so that a dribble of blood fell into it.

He staggered back to the cauldron with Harry’s blood. He poured it inside. The liquid within turned, instantly, a blinding white. Wormtail, his job done, dropped to his knees beside the cauldron, then slumped sideways and lay on the ground, cradling the bleeding stump of his arm, gasping and sobbing.

Despite his whimpering (😏), that scene always came off as so chilling and badass. Never fails to sends shivers down my spine. But, badass or not, you can’t deny he was very much a competent villain in this scene. He single-handedly (he sure was single-handed XD) resurrected Lord Voldemort.

2. Peter’s ingenious frame-up.

"He's got a toe missing," said Black.

"Of course," Lupin breathed. "So simple. . . so brilliant. . . he cut it off himself?"

"Just before he transformed," said Black. "When I cornered him, he yelled for the whole street to hear that I'd betrayed Lily and James. Then, before I could curse him, he blew apart the street with the wand behind his back, killed everyone within twenty feet of himself -- and sped down into the sewer with the other rats. . . . "

"Didn't you ever hear, Ron?" said Lupin. "The biggest bit of Peter they found was his finger."

[…]

"Harry," said Lupin hurriedly, "don't you see? All this time we've thought Sirius betrayed your parents, and Peter tracked him down -- but it was the other way around, don't you see? Peter betrayed your mother and father -- Sirius tracked Peter down --"

"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" Harry yelled. "HE WAS THEIR SECRET-KEEPER! HE SAID SO BEFORE YOU TURNED UP. HE SAID HE KILLED THEM!"

[…]

"I persuaded Lily and James to change to Peter at the last moment, persuaded them to use him as Secret-Keeper instead of me. . . I'm to blame, I know it. . . The night they died, I'd arranged to check on Peter, make sure he was still safe, but when I arrived at his hiding place, he'd gone. Yet there was no sign of a struggle. It didn't feel right. I was scared. I set out for your parents' house straight away. And when I saw their house, destroyed, and their bodies. . . I realised what Peter must've done. . . what I'd done. . . . "

Tbh Peter’s plan was so brilliant. He literally had every single person fooled for over a decade. Like holy shit dude.

3. Peter knowing his worth.

"I found you," said Wormtail, and there was definitely a sulky edge to his voice now. "I was the one who found you. I brought you Bertha Jorkins."

HELL YEAH YOU DID! Baldy Voldy should be more grateful. Like excuse me?? He literally went looking for you, managed to find you and brought you someone from the Ministry, and later resurrected you. And he still claims Peter isn’t useful, smh.

This doesn’t really count as a badass moment, but it certainly shows how useful he is as a villain.

4. McGonagall talking about him

"Hero-worshipped Black and Potter," said Professor McGonagall. "Never quite in their league, talent-wise. I was often rather sharp with him. You can imagine how I – how I regret that now . . ." She sounded as though she had a sudden head cold.

Not a badass moment, and one would think this was an irrelevant moment that doesn’t hold much water. But it very certainly does. It shows how Peter pretended to be a snivelling coward who had a man-crush on both of his “superior” friends, thus painting himself as someone who would never have the gall to betray/murder anyone, especially not his friends whom he “admired.”

Think about it. You would never think the whimpering, not-so-talented-in-terms-of-magic coward who fangirled over his friends would ever manage to betray them, get them murdered without hesitation, frame another one of his friends and sending him to a dangerous secure prison surrounded by soul-sucking creatures by killing 13 muggles in an explosion, cutting off his finger and faking his death in the process.

It was all a big, brilliant set-up, showing how excellent of a manipulator Peter was.

I could only list 4 Peter moments, so I’m sorry about that.😅

I mean... I. Suppose that it’s been over 20 years since the first Harry Potter film came out, but it’s still a little odd to be rebooting the books so quickly. Yes, there’s some janky CGI in the early movies especially, yes lots got left out (Percy Weasley my beloved), but I feel like this should have waited at least another decade, especially since, like... all the visual and set designs for the movies were so iconic that I’m really not sure you could do anything different. There were other eras they could have done. I just don’t think enough time has passed. I don’t think, especially in terms of visual design, that you’ll be able to change much, enough, to make it worth rebooting again so early. I also don’t know if people would want you to change the visual designs. Personally, I like the current ones. I’ve never felt particularly strongly about Harry Potter any which way, but these designs are iconic and they’re what the rest of the brand has been built off of--the theme parks, the video games, etc. I suspect they’ll be reused, but... I don’t know. I suppose we’ll see. It won’t be out for years yet either way.

Let's see favorite Taylor songs: Cornelia Street, would've Could've Should've, atw10, style, peace, delicate, ready for it, treacherous, tis the damn season, cruel summer are my immediate first thoughts. I'm a rep girly first and red and Evermore girl second/third. I also love Midnights. Fandom memories: I'm really loving these random theme nights we've been having lately, I also love album release nights or during Rep tour waiting for the surprise song. I still find pubwe to be an iconic joke.

the moment that you bonded over was pretty simple: when you hid him from the recipient of one of his pranks

it seemed just logical to you, that a person with the ability to become others suffered from identity crisis every once in a while

even worse when his mother had a very bad and very easily inherited anxiety

Camilo seemed tired in those days, he barely had energy to do simple things like eating

you had to help him with those things, shadowing him behind the day and figure out solutions for the things everyone needed of him that imply him having to shift

and at the end of the day, you took him up to the roof of casa Madrigal, and started to go through memories of the past

the insanely big splinters he somehow got into his feet all the time

the way his voice sounded when he was little

the impossible pranks you had dreamed of pulling of one day when you were about five

just every story that you could think were Camilo was more than his gift

and don't worry, your friendship isn't one sided

you have your hard days, your days were everything is impossible to get done

and he takes care of you just like you do for him

he makes sure you eat, doesn't allow anyone to mess with you and hypes you up

Assert the dominance with that M134.

At first, I was trying to write about a very protective Oliver that defences Percy in front of someone that tries to say bad about Percy, but then I fail. Instead of protective Oliver, I wrote a jealousy and protective and fully sarcastic Percy.

Do I like it? Of course hell yeah, love it very much.

Jealousy and sarcastic these 2 personality fits ma boy Percy so much. He's gentleman to everyone but if someone steps on his line, don't accuse his rudeness to you.

"What a lovely day, isn't it?"

Oliver left out a sigh. He gently puts down the polish tool and his flying broom on the bench. When he finished doing a mental construction for himself, he then turns his back and greets the owner of the voice that He’s been dodging all day long.

"Yeah, it's really good weather, Ms Everly."

"Oh, why are you so polite to me, Oliver? We had lunch last week, aren't we? I thought we are friends now."

Abigail Everly, the daughter of the Puddlemere's manager. The reason that Oliver tries to avoid her it's because she has a very strong interest in him. Even though he has told her that he's taken, it seems like in this lady's dictionary there's missing a vocabulary called give up.

"Call me Abby, please."

"...I'll still stick with Ms Everly."

"Alright, if you insist."

Oliver feels like his face nearly has a cramp because of the fake smile he puts on. Although he doesn't like Abigail Everly, he still can't find a way to avoid having a conversation between them. He's a person who talks directly from his mind. Oliver was scared something bad will happen to the team if his rejection broke the manager's daughter's heart.

"Are you free tonight?"

Here comes again, a date. A forced date.

"I'm afraid I'm not free tonight."

"Why? Is it a very important date that is even more important than having dinner with me?"

Of course, it is. Even the extra training schedule seems more important than your date.

"I'm sorry, Ms Abigail. Maybe-"

"Ollie?"

Oh, God! What good timing, here comes his lifesaver.

Oliver has been craving for the familiar touch and smell all day long. It's so good to have him here, especially in this kind of situation.

To Abigail Everly, Percy's appearance makes her kinda confuse. No one told her that Oliver's lover is a...... man? The man who works in the Ministry Department?

"You must be Mr Percy Weasley."

Percy looks at his man's face and then looks at Abigail, he then gently shakes the lady's hand.

"And you must be Ms Everly. I heard very much from Ollie, really grateful for what you and Mr Everly had sacrificed to Puddlemere. Without the sources from you, our Ollie might not fulfil his dream as Puddlemere's goalkeeper."

Although every action and every word from Percy mean so polite and grateful, Abigail couldn't feel any temperature from that dark brown eyes. This makes her spine shiver.

"Are you done? Hope you won't forget that the family gathering day is today."

"Fully done, free to go anytime."

"Ms Everly?"

Abigail Everly couldn't say anything but just respond like a student who is called by the strict teacher in the class.

"Yes?"

"It's nice to meet you and just for your information, I'm not Percy Weasley anymore."

"Pardon?"

"It's Percy Ignatius Wood. So, if we meet again I hope you can address me as Mr Wood instead of Mr Weasley. Don't get me wrong, I still love to be called a Weasley but don't you think Mr Wood is more lovely?"

Oliver didn't interrupt the conversation between Percy and Abigail Everly. He just stood beside quietly and swallow all his laughter into his stomach. What a savage iconic conversation, he definitely will share this to everyone when they arrive at the burrow.

"If there's nothing, I'll see you after the holiday, Ms Everly."

"O- Ok, a-alright. Wish you two a very happy holiday then."

As soon as Percy and Oliver leave the quidditch pitch, Abigail Everly can finally breathe. She doesn't even realise how long has she been holding her breath if Percy didn't leave.

She feels an urge to burn down the Daily Prophet? Percy Weasley is not as gentleman as what those journalists describe him on the Prophet.

He's a man that fill with jealousy.
