The last place Harry expects to find his soulmate is in Azkaban.
...
“Hello,” Harry tries again. “What are you doing up?”
“Can’t sleep in this place.” Malfoy smiles slightly, and Harry can’t help but be a little creeped out by the way his lips curl. “I’ve finally went fucking insane, then?” he asks, every word posh and delicate and slow, like he’ll break something other than silence if he raises his voice too much.

She Can’t Do It, Without Him
Summary: Ginny’s usual midnight trip to the Room of Requirements gets interrupted when Harry makes himself known. Thus, causing a secret that tormented Ginny to come out into the light.
It’s been months since the Battle of Hogwarts and yet it feels as if it was just yesterday. Except it wasn’t how was it possible that even after all the repairs done to the castle, it still had this unwelcoming sense of agony and despair?
It was as if no amount of cleaning charms used to scrub the blood and grime from the stone walls, the pain would forever remain. Even if the glass windows were fixed, she could still remember when there were shards of glass all over the ground, from a deadly explosion, courtesy of a few Death Eaters.
Even though everything was ‘fixed’ it absolutely didn’t mean that everything was going to be the same again. Everything was different, nothing was ever going to be the same again. But that feeling changed when she visits the seventh floor, more specifically the Room of Requirements.
It was usually after curfew, when everyone was fast asleep, that’s when she would push the curtains from her four posters open and double-checking that her dormmates were indeed asleep. She didn’t want to bother giving anyone an explanation as to where she was going. It became her night time routine, no matter what, she always made her way to the seventh floor.
That was the only time she could pretend like everything was normal and just for a while she could believe that she wasn’t broken.
After making her way out the dorm, then sneaking out from the common room with the invisibility cloak that Harry had let her borrow, before she left got on the Hogwarts Express at the beginning of term. This made it easier for her to roam the halls without being detected by anyone, even though her posture suffered from all the times she had to crouch down to make sure the cloak covered all her body. Luckily, she hadn’t been caught and she plans to keep it that way.
Once she arrived, to the seventh floor, she took the cloak off and let it drop to the floor and waited to think of the place she wanted to immerse herself into. However something was off, it felt as if someone was watching her at this very moment, she could feel her heart start to beat faster than before. The tiny hairs on her arms stood up, yet, she wasn’t going to show an ounce of fear.
Whoever was behind her, should think twice before trying anything. She had survived multiple cruico’s from the Carrows, when their reign of terror in the castle was at an all time high. If she managed to survive an unforgivable, she will survive anything that crosses her path.
Ginny grabbed her wand tightly, just as beads of sweat began to form on her forehead. Whoever was there, better wish that Madam Pomfrey wasn’t off to bed at this time.
Quicker than a stunning spell, Ginny turned around and pointed the tip of her wand at the throat of….Harry?
No. It couldn’t be.
He wasn’t here, he had Auror training with Ron all the way until next week. This wasn’t Harry…..then why did this man have the same scar on his forehead? It looked like the same one she had traced so many times both with her fingers and her lips?
Even his hair was in the same state of disarray, and his green eyes…..that reminded her of fresh pickled toad. Yet, even with all the similarities, she couldn’t risk anything, she can practically hear the words that Mad-Eye would always say, ‘Constant Vigilance’.
“What tattoo did I say you had, when we were in the common room?” She asked, while waiting for the man in front of her to answer. One wrong answer and it’ll be all it takes for her to fire the hex that’s on the tip of her tongue.
“Hungarian Horntail! To be specific you said it was across my chest.” The reply came out quicker than ever, it was him and not someone else. Realization crept into her as she lowered her wand from Harry’s throat.
“What are you doing here, I thought you had training?” She asked him, once she placed her wand securely into the pocket of her robes. Not missing the way Harry rubbed at the spot where she had her wand pointed at his throat a few seconds ago.
“My schedule changed, and I sent you an owl but you never replied back. So I decided to come see see that you were fine.” Harry said his voice filled with concern. She didn’t like it, he didn’t need to worry about her anymore, there wasn’t a war going on.
“I’m fine, you may leave now if you want-”
“Oh, come off it! Don’t lie to me Ginny, I’m not going anywhere. In case you forgot I’m also friends with Hermione, and she mentioned in a letter to Ron that you weren’t fine.”
“Oh, it’s nice that my git, of a brother tells you everything.” She replied coolly.
“That isn’t true, look Ginny, he’s worried about you. We all are, please don’t do this-”
“Do what? I’m perfectly fine.” Ginny said before flashing him a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. Hopefully the obliviousness that Harry had kicked in so he wouldn’t notice the truth in her lies. She needed him to go, and live his life without her. Why couldn’t he understand how broken she was? Why now when she wants him to be the most oblivious git in the world, he is suddenly paying attention to every thing she does or doesn’t do.
“Don’t play me as a fool, I know something is wrong. I had this feeling ever since you stopped replying to my letters and refused to go with me to Hogsmead.” Harry said as he walked closer to her, she could feel the warmth from his body and smell the woodsy aftershave he had on.
Momentarily her senses were clouded by him, and that scared her to the core, she couldn’t afford for her senses to betray her by welcoming happiness into her life. Not when she deserves to fall into the abyss of loneliness and despair.
Which is why she turned her head away from him, trying to focus on anything other than the man who was in front of her. “I’m fine,” she gritted out, “There’s no need for you to have come all the way down here just to see how broken I am.” She cofessed, not realizing what she had spoken until it was too late. She saw the way Harry’s green eyes widened in shock before looking very confused.
Fuck, there was no way she could escape this. Dammit, why couldn’t they just pretend she didn’t say anything and go their separate ways?
Oh right, that was impossible because it’s Harry, the boy-who-lived-to-wreck-her-plans, it was never easy keeping things from him. It was only a matter of time before managed to make the truth spill out from her own mouth.
Silence filled the empty space between them, the only thing that could be heard in the corridor was the sounds of their breathing. That was until Harry broke the silence, “What do you mean by broken?” His voice was laced in worry, it made her internally squirm, she didn’t need his pity and the thought made her want to die.
“It’s nothing, I didn’t mean-“
“Stop, you don’t need to pretend that you can do this by yourself. You’re not alone Ginny, I’m your boyfriend so stop treating me like your bloody fool!”
”Not for long, you won’t be,” she muttered quietly.
“What did you just say?” Harry’s voice had become hard, his emotions erased completely.
She shook her head, and wiped at her eyes, not at all surprised at the tears that had begun to fall. Fine, if he wanted to know the truth then so be it, it wasn’t like she couldn’t do this with a broken heart, anyways.
Then again, what would be left of her heart once she tells him the truth?
“Gin, if you don’t say anything….I swear to Merlin-”
“I can’t have children.” She interrupts him, before she lost her nerve she continued with shaky breath, “Madam P-Pomfrey…after I visited her because of these awful cramps I’ve been getting. S-She had ran a few tests and told me that, from the effects of the cruico’s I s-sustained from the Carrows….I won’t-“ she choked off into a sob.
”W-What?” Harry said softly, Ginny just shook her head and whispered, ‘I’m so sorry’, before covering her face with both of her hands and letting her tears fall.
She couldn’t do this, why did it have to be this way?
”Ginny-“
Fuck, why did she have to be a failure?
”Gin-“
Why couldn’t she-
“Ginevra!”
Harry’s shouting had effectively pulled her from the thoughts that tormented her. Yet, she couldn’t face him….how could she look into the man she loves and further break his heart with the truth that she was broken-
“Please….look at me.” Harry said, as his calloused hands gently pulled her hands away from her face. Her eyes were closed tight, as she bite her bottom lip, wishing that maybe this was just a horrible dream and that none of this was real.
Except….it was real, nothing was going to change that.
”Love….please, open your eyes” Harry spoke once more, his voice laced with emotion it caused her to slowly will her eyes open. She had to blink away the tears that blurred her vision. She felt Harry bring wipe the tears from her cheek, and that’s when she noticed how his eyes…his beautiful green eyes were now red-rimmed. It was all because of-
“I need you to know….that no matter what I will always be there for you. You don’t have to go through this alone….you have me forever.” Harry spoke gently as he brought her hand to his lips and kissed it gently. She didn’t deserve this…not his pity, he needs to know that she wasn’t going to hold him back from starting his life even if it meant watching him be happy from the sidelines.
After all she can do this with a broken heart…..but she couldn’t live with herself by breaking his heart in the process. Which is why she pulls her hand away from him, and tries to ignore the coldness she feels.
”Don’t….don’t try to soothe me with beautiful lies, Harry when I know the reality isn’t pretty.” She said once her breathing slows down.
”I’m not lying,” Harry said quickly, and lifted up his hand to show her the scar that he had from Umbridge’s blood quill. “See this, it’s physical proof that I’m not bloody lying.”
”Harry…you deserve someone who-“
”Don’t you dare say what I think you’re going to say.” Harry interrupted her once more, “I want you to understand that I love you. I don’t care how many times I have to say this but it’s the truth, you are the only woman I’ve ever loved and will ever love. You are enough and I will never leave your side.”
”You don’t understand. This changes everything, don’t you see? I can’t give you what you want, not now possibly not ever and I-“
”You’re everything that I want!”
Ginny didn’t say anything, as she felt Harry grab her hand and place it over his shirt. She could feel the beating of his heart against her palm, as his green eyes stared into her brown eyes, with such intensity she almost looked away.
Almost.
”Now I’m going to speak and I would appreciate it, if you don’t say a word.” Harry nodded and held her hand tighter than before, all she could do was nod.
For a few minutes there was nothing but silence surrounding them. Neither of them moved, much less looked away from one another, that was until Harry briefly closed his eyes and shook his head.
”For longest time….I was alone, always thinking that I wouldn’t be capable of being loved by anyone. That maybe my life was destined to be hidden away in a cupboard, and away from the world.” Harry spoke, she felt him rub his thumb across her hand. It was as if, he was trying to stay anchored in this moment and not fall into his own past.
After a beat, Harry spoke again, this time he opened his eyes and looked directly into her eyes. It felt like he was looking into the depths of her soul, trying to make her understand.
”That was my future, to be alone. Until, I fell completely in love with a girl who accidentally placed her elbow into the butter dish, and who also wrote the most unique poem that I’ve ever heard before.” Harry winked at her, as he brought her closer to him.
“Fucking git.” She laughed through tears, it was then that she realized he was smiling at her.
”Ah, what did I say Miss Weasley? No talking, if I may recall. I suppose I’ll have to take some points off from Gryffindor in order to set things back in order.”
”Oh, really and tell me how can you do that if you don’t go to this school anymore?” She teased him, that’s when she realized how foolish she was in keeping him in the dark about this.
“Don’t tell anyone but I heard that McGonagall has a soft spot for me.”
”Does this mean I should be afraid that McGonagall is going to steal you away from me?” Ginny pulled her hand away from him and placed it over her chest like a dagger was pushed into her chest. “I didn't know you had a thing for older woman.”
”Oi! You know what, fine you caught me. It’s the biscuits that managed to make my heart swell up.”
She rolled her eyes and couldn’t help but laugh and it honestly felt so good. She hadn’t felt this carefree in such a long time it was insane, how Harry could manage to put her at ease.
It was then that she realized how foolish she was to ever think that Harry would feel differently towards her.
“Gin,” Harry said once they sobered up from laughing, “I love you and nothing will change that. You are one of the strongest and most beautiful women that I’ve ever seen in my life. I know you can do anything by yourself, hell you can do it with a broken heart and still manage to see things through. Except, you don’t have to…because you have me, and I will never let you go through this alone.”

Boyfriend
Written for @hinnymicrofic November 2023 - Prompt 1
So this didn't go in quite the direction I thought it would, and ended up being a bit less micro than I expected. Hopefully the Hinny isn't too tangential!
It was late by the time Harry made his way back to the Gryffindor dormitory. This had nothing at all to do with his desire to avoid both Ron and Dean, and everything to do with spending as much time with Ginny as physically possible - but he couldn’t deny it was a very happy side effect.
He took a moment to make sure his shirt was properly buttoned again, and tried to flatten his hair in a futile attempt to make it look like he hadn’t spent the past however-many-hours with Ginny in a variety of locations around the school grounds resolutely not discussing the Ravenclaw match.
In the distance, he heard a door open, followed by a chorus of high-pitched squeals that cut off sharply as the door closed again. Clearly Ginny had reached her own dormitory. A soppy grin spread over his face as he thought of her again, no longer needing to imagine the taste of her lips, or the feel of her body pressed close to his. Unfortunately, this thought ensured that he needed to take a few more moments to compose himself before heading into his own dormitory.
When he finally pushed open the door, it was to discover that there was both good news and bad news. The good news was that Neville was already fast asleep, and (even better) neither Dean nor Seamus was there. Quite where they were given it was now well past curfew was a problem for someone else - Harry was perfectly happy to take the win.
The bad news was that Ron was very definitely there, and even more definitely awake. He was lying on his bed, fully clothed, hands behind his head, trying (Harry thought) very hard to look nonchalant.
Ron acknowledged his arrival with a nod. “Evening.”
“Evening,” replied Harry. He paused momentarily, then tried just as hard to look nonchalant as he strolled over to his own bed, and opened his truck to put his cloak back inside. Maybe, he hoped against hope, Ron wasn’t going to say anything else.
“So,” said Ron.
Fuck, thought Harry.
“You and Ginny.”
“Uh huh. Me and Ginny,” replied Harry, hoping that his tone was as light and non-committal as he intended.
“You’re her boyfriend now, then?” asked Ron.
Ron sounded conversational. Unconcerned. Calm. Harry was not fooled, not for one second. He shrugged awkwardly. He closed his trunk, then took as long as humanly possible to locate his pyjamas under his pillow. “Umm. Yeah. I guess so.”
Ron’s eyes narrowed. “You don’t know so?” he asked, sharply.
Fuck, fuck, fuck. “Uh - no, I am,” he scrambled. “I definitely am.”
Ron cocked his head to one side. “Huh.”
Silence. Merciful silence. So why, Harry thought, was he suddenly overwhelmed by the urge to fill it? He fought it as hard as he could but ultimately, failed dismally.
“I mean, I asked her, officially, if that was what she wanted. And she said yes. So… Yeah, I’m her boyfriend. And… I really like her. I have done for ages. I… I’m not just messing about.”
More silence. Ron nodded thoughtfully.
“So are we… y’know, are we still good?” asked Harry, hopefully.
Ron gave him a hard stare. “Well that depends, doesn’t it?”
Harry swallowed hard. “It does?”
Ron’s brows wrinkled. “Yeah. Obviously.”
“Umm… what on?”
Ron looked at him as if he was exceptionally dim. “Harry, come on! She’s my sister! There are rules!”
Harry felt his heart sinking. This was the exact thing that he’d been afraid of, that had held him back for so long. And just when everything seemed to be falling into place. “There are?”
“Yeah. Rules,” confirmed Ron.
Harry couldn’t help himself. It was like he could see the headlights of the approaching lorry, and he just couldn’t seem to get out of the way. “And the rules would be….?”
Ron sighed. “Okay, if you’re going to make me spell it out for you.” He held up his hand, fingers splayed, ready to count them off. “Firstly, you don’t hurt her. Ever. In any way.”
Well that one was straightforward enough. “Got it.”
“Secondly,” counted Ron, “whatever it was that I saw in the common room before, I don’t want to see that ever again.”
Well, that one might be a touch trickier, but he was sure they could be discreet. “Er… Okay?”
“Thirdly,” continued Ron, pointing at his middle finger, “you have to escort her to and from all her classes, carry her bag and her books, serve her at mealtimes, give her your coat if she’s cold, do any shopping she needs. You know, just generally look after her properly.”
Harry frowned. That sounded a bit full on, but even then, it wasn’t so much that he wouldn’t do it, more that he couldn't imagine Ginny letting him. “Er, Ron?” he began.
But Ron wasn’t listening. “Fourthly, you can’t be alone with her at any time. You need a chaperone, permanently.”
Harry blinked, hard. How on earth did Ron think that could possibly ever work? “What? Ron, I don’t think…” he protested.
Ron just ignored him. “Fifthly, you don’t touch her. Ever. Anywhere. I’ll let you off with the common room thing because we hadn’t talked, but you can’t lay another hand on her. Or any other bit of you, for that matter.”
And at that point, Harry decided he’d had enough. “Oh come on, Ron! This is ridiculous! You can’t really expect…” he began, hotly.
But before he could continue, a horrible strangled noise came from Neville’s bed, making him jump. He jerked his head towards the sound, then realised that Neville was shaking violently under his blankets.
“Oh my god, Ron! I think he’s having a fit!” Harry dashed to Neville’s side, visions of Ron convulsing in Slughorn’s study flashing through his head. Where was he going to get a bezoar this time?
Harry pulled back Neville’s blanket and rolled his friend onto his back. Neville’s face was bright red and screwed up as though he was in pain. Except wait - no, that wasn’t pain, was it? It was… hang on, was it laughter?
Utterly confused, Harry turned to look at Ron, to find that he, too, was now laughing so hard he was practically doubled up with it.
“I’m sorry, Ron,” gasped Neville. “I just couldn’t hold it in any longer. That was brilliant! I don’t know how you kept a straight face.”
“Oh, Harry - your face! It was priceless!” said Ron, tears running down his cheeks. “Don’t worry, Neville. I was running out of fingers anyway.”
“You mean… all those rules? You were making them up?” Harry couldn’t decide whether he was furious or relieved.
“We were talking while you were out, about how far Ron thought he could push you,” confessed Neville.
“Well, you just snogged my sister in front of pretty much everyone,” agreed Ron. “I reckoned I deserved a bit of payback.”
“So you’re not pissed off with me?” Harry checked.
Ron shook his head. “Nah. If you’re nuts enough to actually willingly go out with Ginny, I reckon that’s punishment enough.” Then he looked thoughtful. “Though I really would appreciate you keeping the snogging to a minimum while I’m around.”
Finally, relief won out, and Harry’s face split into a grin of his own. “Deal.”

Hear me out:
Sirius travels to the future and goes to Hogwarts, he sees Remus as a professor and flirts with him and that kind of shit. It’s an au where Sirius in that timeline hasn’t escaped from Azkaban. He questions shit and Remus eventually tells him that he killed Lily, James and Peter and that he’s now in Azkaban and he can’t accept it, he has a mental breakdown. He finds out about what happened to the others like Marlene, Dorcas, Evan, Barty, Mary, Pandora etc. And he sees Luna yk and thinks about Pandora and he’s like “wait I thought Pandora was with Lily?”
then together they figure out what really happened cuz they see Peter on the marauders map. And they deal with him.
Then Sirius sees Harry and goes: “holy shit he looks just like James!! Am I an uncle?” And when Harry gets a little closer, he goes: “wait- his eyes? Why does he have blue eyes?” And Remus has to explain to him that Regulus joined the death eaters and died when he was 17 and that Harry’s mother is Lily and Sirius goes through another mental breakdown. And after he’s calmed down, he’s like: “so I’m not his uncle?” And Remus is like: “you’re the godfather.” And Sirius cheers up a little.
And when he sees that Harry is in love with Draco he is like: why do the potters have smth for the snarky, sad, depressed, Slytherin seekers who’s mean to them. And ppl from the black family. (I count Draco as a black cuz Narcissa is a black so yeah) (Regulus and Draco both getting the dark mark cuz they were forced😭😭😭)
and when Harry gets a tiny crush on ginny sirius goes like: HIS BEST MATES SIBLING?! OH LOOK HOW FUNNY SHES A GINGER TOO! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? See moony I told you it’s in his genes. (You can decide yourself if it’s endgame hinny or Drarry)
And he sees the Weasley twins and he’s like: “they’re my new idols!!” And Remus is like: “We’re their idols actually”
And he sees himself and James in Ron and Harry.
And after a few months when Sirius has caught up with everything, he flirts with Remus and is like: “you know moony I’m horny” and Remus is like: “well I can’t do anything about it, that would be pedophilia” and Sirius is like disappointed. But they eventually have sex (help😭Sirius is like 15 or 16 btw) and Sirius is like: “yOuR cOcK hAs GrOwN”. They take every chance they get to make out. And Remus is like: “oh how much I’ve missed this, missed you”
(They’re at Hogwarts btw) (it’s up to you if he pretends like he’s a student or if he’s hiding in Remus’ room) (but some professors would know if Sirius pretended like he was a student) (maybe he goes in disguise with polyjuice potion or smth?)
(He meets Harry if he’s just hiding and tells him everything but if you decide him to disguise as a student then he just watches from afar and doesn’t talk to him often.)
Remus asks him if this counts as cheating on his past self. And Sirius is like: “no you’re still you, so cheating on you with you is impossible”
Mcgonagall finds out about Sirius but doesn’t tell anyone.
Oh and it takes place during PoA and GoF. But the events just don’t happen, it’s like a normal Hogwarts year. So yeah no voldy coming back. Or no Sirius escaping Azkaban.
You can decide if Remus stays at Hogwarts during GoF or not, like the events didn’t happen so he doesn’t have to leave. But it’s up to you if he leaves and lives with Sirius in his house during GoF. But they’re definitely at Hogwarts during PoA.
and a bit to the end of GoF they figure out a way to send Sirius back to the 70s. Sirius says goodbye to everyone and leaves (Remus is like FUCKING sad cuz he has no one left) and as soon as Sirius is back he begs his brother to run away with him so that that terrible things don’t happen and he talks to James and Remus about Peter, and they do smth to fix that.
So yeah that was it

So there's this musical, Come From Away, about a town in Newfoundland taking in airplane passengers after the events of 9/11.
And for some reason, whenever I hear of it, in my head I picture the scene in Rarity Takes Manehatten where they're watching Hinny of the Hills
Tumblr media
I don't know why - maybe it was because I first heard of Come From Away in early 2014 and had seen that episode recently - but that's been my mental image of the 9/11 musical for the past decade, even when I hadn't watched MLP in years.

Earth “ponies” go first! MASSIVE autism dump comin’ atcha live
TW: ableism , grief , parental death (just in case the tags failed)
This is more so for me but I still wanted to share 🫶
Sandstone (Pinkie):
- b i g puppy energy
- Built for work but prefers to play
- Has crystal pony genes but depression makes them subdued. Can only go full crystal mode in a moment of pure and raw jubilation.
- after constantly being told who she’s supposed to be, they rejected the idea of labels entirely
- no labels for gender or sexuality means loving Pinkie does not impact your sexuality score!
- (intersex is not about gender but biological sex. That being said many intersex people use intergender as their gender as it relates to their experience as an intersex person.)
- deals with internalized ableism due to conservative fillyhood environment. Feels bad when they need to ask for help/support. Got herself an unofficial certificate in psychology so he can be his own therapist (it doesn’t work out)
- Parents would totally support the pony version of Autism Speaks just saying. Pinkie’s dad thinks neurodivergency is curable with hard work and the right attitude whilst her mom mourns the loss of her son after the diagnosis.
- ADHD makes xeir rejection sensitivity off the charts
- Internal battery runs on the company of others so can’t ever live alone.
- Had problems with food insecurity
- Relies on sugar as a steady supply of dopamine
- Can have moments of poor motor control. Clumsy
- Eyesight is bad but doesn’t wear glasses. Afraid that ponies will start thinking he is smart and they will expect even more from him. (In human world she wears contacts)
- Feels embarrassed being high support needs and just wants to be treated like everybody else. Hates when xer parents call her “special”
- Also hates being infantilized but is not confident in their decision making
- Xe is a sensory seeker unlike the rest of their family who are all sensory avoiders. Sisters compromise and try to meet his needs. Pinkie in turn tries to be mindful of their touch aversion but finds it hard sometimes. “Everypony’s just so scoop-able!”
- Trained Gummy to “stay”. Is very proud of his emotional support gator
Applejack:
- Is incredibly strong for her size
- feels like she has to constantly prove herself worthy of taking over the farm. Has gotten into arguments with Big Mac about overexerting herself
- Is a hinny (donkey mom and stallion dad) (ofc hinnies are supposed to have tails more like horse but I love the lion tail on AJ so 💁‍♀️) (I said mule in ALT text because most people don’t know what a hinny is)
- Because of this, she is more calm under pressure and thinks more logically
- has major depression from grief and ptsd (duh)
- Isn’t used to being in a stress free environment so she creates the stress
- Likes running the apple stand but certain families trigger her
- Obsessed with anything from the past generation. A time when her parents were young and happy
- Can be a bit insensitive to other’s problems and wants them to “put on their big girl pants” like she had to.
- Feels like she has to fill in the roles her parents used to do. Especially so Applebloom and Granny don’t have to stress over as many things.
- Was in the process of cutting her mane when she remembered that AB liked to braid it so she stopped half way.
- Is the mom of the friend group. Makes sure everyone’s needs are met before tending to her own. (Which is bad btw)
- Has problems with insomnia but getting better.
- Struggles with OCD and will repeat unnecessary tasks if she believes it will help protect her family
- Has an emotional support dog named Winona who also reminds AJ to take breaks 🐕‍🦺
- Sees no point in getting her chronic pain checked out. Will hopefully change her mind in the future. Wears leg braces to ease the soreness.
- Got diagnosed later on. Grief masked her autistic traits.
- Also has a hard time asking for help but has gotten better after she found out that Applebloom has been internalizing that mindset. She must lead by example
- Stick around long enough and she’ll happily invite you over with a hot cup of cider 🍺
- (Other people tend to fall in love while getting to know someone. Demiromantics however need to get to know the person first and then develop romantic feelings later)
- Thought she wasn’t capable of developing crushes until she got to know Coloratura.

my wips (and the fact that they are still wips and not finished) make me so sad but we're working through it. also the priority levels have changed massively in the past week or so (whoops)
WIPS:
already gone--amnesia hinny au, ginny wakes up without six years of memory and no context for the world she finds herself in
the path from you-- a post-war hinny au/bodyguard fic, ginny is receiving anonymous letters and harry gets assigned to her case... will their shared history get in the way of solving the mystery?
love wasn't designed for the cynical-- (not posted/oneshot) amnesia/timeloop percabeth au, percy pisses off hera (again) and gets stuck in an alternate universe where he and annabeth never got together. he has to relive the same day over and over with no idea how to get out
spring fever-- a/b/o & sex pollen hinny au, a mutation in the cherry blossoms reactivate a long dormant biological reaction and humanity dissolves into a sex crazed pandemic. through absolutely no fault of their own, harry and ginny end up riding out the stay at home measures together... and maybe, accidentally, trigger each others designations
it's a match!-- (not posted/oneshot) an epistolary (text fic/socmed au) where harry and ginny keep matching across all dating apps over the span over several years. will they ever move past their casual acquaintanceship and actually go on a date?
scenes i'm excited to write:
harry takes ginny to the holyhead harpies stadium. ginny has some expected, and some unexpected, interactions
i'm really looking forward to writing the entirety of chap, 19 to be honest, but specifically harry and ginny trying and failing to have a secret relationship
mr d knows exactly what's going on, and refuses to help percy even a little bit lmaooo
spring fever is tough. i feel like the smut i'm writing right now isn't hitting the plot beats that i want so i am taking a SHORT break from it and focusing on some other things that have more momentum. but i'm excited to write harry and ginny going into a full sex fog and this fic finally earning it's dubious consent tag
i made the graphics so all i have left to do for this one is format the messages... and i'm actually not looking forward to this part because it's so time consuming and trial and error and it's frustrating for me so that's why i haven't posted it yet whoops.... other than that it's done 😅
POLL TIME
my plan was to update already gone next but as always i will honor the results of the sacred tumblr poll

Slip
Written for @hinnymicrofic September 15, 2023
Sorry if I'm a day late. I loved the prompt and I really wanted to write this! Sorry if it is also a bit too long (650 words).
Ginny was miserable. The ride from King’s Cross to the Burrow had been a drag. She had not cried or shown any emotion since Harry had broken up with her. She did not want to make things harder than they already were, for herself and for Harry. But she had not had the strength to see him again, to talk to him: it hurt too much, everything was still too fresh.
She had decided not to tell anyone about their relationship: she did not want teasing or anger from her brothers, and she did not need pity from her parents. It was for the best; no one could understand anyway. Harry was what she had always wanted, first as a crush, then as admiration and attraction, finally – no point in denying it – as love. He was everything she had ever wanted, and now that she had seen that reality was even better than her wildest fantasy, she had to watch him slip away. It hurt even more. She knew it was all for a stupid, noble reason. She didn’t blame Harry, and the fact that she couldn’t really get mad at him only made it harder.
Night had fallen now, and Ginny was safely cocooned in the sacred, enclosed space of her room. Now that no one could see her, she could finally cry. She cried for what had been, and even more for what might have been, and then she cried for what might never be. It was silent weeping: no sobs, just the slow, unrelenting trickle of tears. In the absolute silence of the Burrow, a single word slipped from her lips, “Harry”. Barely more than a whisper, it was as if his name had been ripped away against her will from the cage she had built around her heart.
At that very moment, Molly walked past her door. She had known right away that something was wrong with her daughter. She heard her anguished whisper and opened the door. He saw her in tears, slumped on the bed, looking more miserable than she had seen her since the Chamber of Secrets. For a moment, a long look passed between mother and daughter, then, without a word, Molly took Ginny’s favorite brush, sat down on the bed beside her, and began to brush her hair as she had done every night when she was a child. The gesture, so familiar, broke down the barriers Ginny had built up and she told her everything. Molly listened in silence.
“I feel like a baby!” Ginny finally exclaimed, angry at herself for what she considered a sign of childish weakness.
“We all need to feel like children sometimes,” Molly replied calmly, “but you made a woman’s choice. I’m proud of you.”
Ginny turned to see a smile of affection on her mother’s face. She could only nod.
“Let me tell you something.” She added as she finished combing her daughter’s hair. “If you really think Harry is the one for you, if you’re absolutely sure, if you... if you think you love him...”
Molly paused and looked her daughter straight in the eyes, the same shade of chocolate as her own.
“If you think you love him, don’t give up on him. If there is any motherly advice I can ever give you, it is this: never give up on love. If we give up on love, then we have already lost everything. Love is stronger than anything. I know it won’t be easy, I know it may be the hardest thing anyone can ask of you, but you are strong, and love is always worth it. Dare to dream and always dare to love.”
For the first time that day, a small smile appeared on Ginny’s face as she nodded in response. She watched her mother slip out of her room and thought that no, she would never stop daring to dream and daring to love.

underrated hinny moments that make my heart hurt: shell cottage 🐚
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'They were all sitting in the living room when he entered the little hall, their attention focused upon Bill, who was talking. The room was light-coloured, pretty, with a small fire of driftwood burning brightly in the fireplace. Harry did not want to drop mud upon the carpet, so he stood in the doorway, listening...'
i just wanted to say a little bit about an underrated hinny moment from of my favourite chapters in deathly hallows, the wandmaker. i love this chapter (and the one after it, also at shell cottage) for so many reasons: the rich visual imagery of the survivors finding their way to the sea; the symbolism of harry preparing the grave by hand for dobby's burial, foreshadowing his own death '('deeper and deeper Harry sank into the grave...'); ron and dean silently joining harry in digging dobby's grave, three soldiers burying a comrade, and both dean and ron offering up items of clothes to dobby as a tribute for dobby's sacrifice... it's all just gorgeous.
but… the hinny moment tho. the hinny scene in this chapter is so tiny and quiet but it's also so sad and so good. ok let’s get into it.
Tumblr media
the chapter begins in the immediate aftermath of dobby's death. ginny hasn't been mentioned in the past seventy pages, since early january, with the trio's visit to the lovegood house (the group arrive at shell cottage in mid-march). the last time ginny was mentioned, harry was in devon, looking out to the burrow, realising how close they were to each other, thinking of her but being glad of her safety away from him. that day, he also saw her painted face alongside the others on luna's bedroom ceiling (friends.. friends... friends...) of course, it's at the lovegoods that harry learns the tale of the three brothers, and hears about the deathly hallows for the first time. this is a plot point that, with hindsight, we know foreshadows harry's mortal fate. (on ginny and the intertwined plotlines of hallows/horcruxes/harry's death, see here).
this chapter, then, begins with the little group, having just arrived, confronting terrible tragedy. the scene is reminiscent of the last time harry crash landed, panicking and grieving, in a place of safety: the burrow, after the seven plotters rescue, after hedwig’s death. of course, in that moment, harry is met by ginny: he wants to hold her and find comfort in her; ginny holds his hand and stays close. as we’ll see, there’s a trend in the later stages of the series: whenever harry is grieving, ginny is close by.
Tumblr media
harry’s not in devon, this time, but in the neighbouring county of cornwall (two parts of the U.K. with these important historic ties as the two counties out on england’s jagged south-westernly peninsula jutting into the same stretch of sea). as soon as the chapter opens, harry's mind makes a callback to the last time harry staggered from a loved one's body:
'It was like sinking into an old nightmare; for an instant Harry knelt again beside Dumbledore’s body at the foot of the tallest tower at Hogwarts, but in reality he was staring at a tiny body curled upon the grass, pierced by Bellatrix’s silver knife.'
of course, when dumbledore lay dead at the foot of the astronomy tower, it was ginny and ginny alone who was able to get through to harry, to reach him and guide him away. this time, things are different. harry has no comfort here, no ginny present to catch him and receive him in his immediate grief: he's distanced mentally from the others at shell cottage, both by the fact of his loss and by the thoughts of voldemort and his fate that plague him now:
'The sea was rushing against the rock somewhere nearby; Harry listened to it while the others talked, discussing matters in which he could take no interest, making decisions.'
once the grave is dug, the little group gather together to bury dobby. there's another callback to dumbledore's death here - this time, it's to the funeral:
'He forced himself not to break down as he remembered Dumbledore’s funeral, and the rows and rows of golden chairs, and the Minister of Magic in the front row, the recitation of Dumbledore’s achievements, the stateliness of the white marble tomb. He felt that Dobby deserved just as grand a funeral, and yet here the elf lay between bushes in a roughly dug hole.'
harry returns to the memory of the funeral to contrast dumbledore's grand send off with dobby's humble one. but also, on some level, he's mentally returning to moments that were defined both by loss but also by the presence of what was, by his own description, 'his greatest comfort'. last time he said goodbye to a loved one, ginny was at his side - until, of course, the funeral had ended, the goodbye had been said, and harry had acted on his decision to let ginny go and embrace the solitary path left for him ('I've got things to do alone now’).
harry, grieving dobby, turns to the same coping strategies as he showed at dumbledore's funeral. a death means distancing himself from others ('I've got things to do alone now'); it means forcing himself not to break down ('[he] could not bear to hear these things, nor did he think his resolution would hold if he remained sitting beside her'), and it means pushing aside thoughts of his own grief and concentrating on the task left to him ('Moving felt much more bearable than sitting still...').
Tumblr media
harry asks for the others for a moment alone, which they grant him. he then marks his friend's grave. the text is now heavy with foreshadowing. we are told, now, that harry has had a realisation as he dug the burial plot, though the details of this realisation is kept from the reader: we know it is somehow linked to the hallows and horcrux distinction. harry thinks about it now as he walks from the grave back to the house, hallows and horcruxes at the forefront of his mind.
'...his mind full of those things that had come to him in the grave, ideas that had taken shape in the darkness, ideas both fascinating and terrible...'
we will learn, in the next chapter, that the decision harry has made is not to race voldemort to the elder wand. he’s chosen to go after horcruxes, and not the hallows; not to become master of death, but to remain the chosen one. it’s such an important moment for harry: he’s choosing who he will be, setting things in motion, making a gamble that distinguishes himself both from voldemort and, he thinks, from dumbledore. he doesn’t know it yet, but this powerful - and shrewd - decision will cost him his life. and whenever harry takes a step closer to his own death...
cut to the next paragraph. immediately after this enormously significant line - of pivotal ideas taking shape in the darkness - we have this:
'They were all sitting in the living room when he entered the little hall, their attention focused upon Bill, who was talking. The room was light-coloured, pretty, with a small fire of driftwood burning brightly in the fireplace. Harry did not want to drop mud upon the carpet, so he stood in the doorway, listening.'
the setting here is important. it's domestic, homely, safe, similar to descriptions of the burrow, a kind of modest, warm, familial comfort. harry stands on the threshold of a room which is described as 'light-coloured' and 'pretty', with a bright fire lit. throughout the series, of course, signals for ginny throughout the text are always about light (especially natural light and sunlight), warmth and fire: obviously we have ginny's 'blazing look', but also her 'glowing like the setting sun' (CoS), her eyes 'reflecting the firelight' (OotP), her 'red hair flying like flames' (HBP), how looking at her is 'like gazing into a brilliant light' (DH). the mentioned prettiness of the room is also supposed to help usher in mention of a character that, in harry’s mind, is beautiful and lovely to behold. harry stands apart from the room and from the others: his fears about the mud are also supposed to reinforce how removed he is from the rest of the gathered group. still, these little descriptions give us little clues that a mention of ginny is coming.
Tumblr media
as bill addresses the people gathered in this firelit pretty little room, the part of his monologue that harry's ears prick to is the mention of ginny:
'... lucky that Ginny’s on holiday. If she’d been at Hogwarts, they could have taken her before we reached her. Now we know she’s safe too.'
the mention of ginny here is significant for two reasons. first, news that ginny is safe is the first small piece of comfort harry gets after dobby dies. standing outside this warm, safe, sheltered little room, harry receives news that ginny is out of harm’s way, as are the other members of the weasley family, whom he loves. now both the reader and harry get this little bit of light in the darkness, confirmation that ginny is safe, but also allows her to resume her role in HBP, as some tiny comfort to harry in grief, even in absentia. (honestly i just love the image of harry in the doorway, grief-stricken, covered in mud, listening in the corridor to this one little tiny piece of good news about the girl he’s in love with).
secondly, though, i love how this brief mention allows ginny to enter the narrative of these scenes that are, at its core, about harry’s ultimate destiny in the voldemort/chosen one/horcrux v hallows arc. even when not physically present, ginny stands in as this one flickering little warm light - a little fire, burning still - that anchors harry even when he is making these huge choices that will take him into such deep forms of magic and down so solitary a path where no other character can really reach him. it deepens this connection in the reader’s mind between ginny and harry’s fate in ways that makes him thinking of her as he dies make such deep sense. ginny isn’t a subplot extraneous to the chosen one plot: she’s bound up in it, in this rich, complicated, sad way, not as someone who save this character from his fate, but is essential to sending him off at peace with it. so often when harry is closing in on the truth about the horcruxes and hallows, mentions of ginny are close by (see the kiss meta above). ginny is that important.
'[Bill] looked around and saw Harry standing there. “I’ve been getting them all out of the Burrow,” he explained. “Moved them to Muriel’s. The Death Eaters know Ron’s with you now, they’re bound to target the family—don’t apologise,” he added at the sight of Harry’s expression. “It was always a matter of time, Dad’s been saying so for months. We’re the biggest blood traitor family there is.” “How are they protected?” asked Harry.'
obviously, harry is harry-ing here - he wants to apologise for the risk and danger posed to the weasleys (especially because the reason for the trio's capture was his fault), and he demands information about how ginny and the rest of the weasleys will be kept safe going forward. he knows ginny is safe: he wants to make sure she stays that way.
what's also significant about this moment, though, is that it reinforces this dynamic that runs throughout DH as a book, which is that at all times the reader knows exactly where ginny is. ginny spends the majority book off stage, yet we're told when she's on the train to hogwarts, when she's back home for christmas, when she’s back for easter and moves to muriel's etc. when harry doesn't know where ginny is, during the battle - when she leaves the room of requirement at his instruction but then appears to vanish - it’s therefore deployed to detonate a deep sense of panic, where we see harry confront the worst possible reality, one he is unable to even bring himself to process, the prospect of ginny’s death ('and he wanted to find the other Weasleys, and above all make sure, make quite sure, that Ginny was not—but he could not permit that idea to form in his mind—'). when harry eventually goes to his death in the forest - the ultimate thing he will have to grieve: his own life — of course, it's ginny he comes across in the grounds, waiting to give him comfort one last time, to send him on his way. (see the forest meta again for a more thorough explanation of this).
Tumblr media
after this short conversation with bill, harry cleans himself of the dirt and mud of the grave at the kitchen sink. it seems so trivial but i'm just obsessed with the extremely slow pace of this scene. the tempo is so unusual for the series, and there's this extremely compelling domesticity to it, which continues this ongoing association with ginny and the burrow in the reader's mind. harry slowly and methodically washes and dries his hands as he thinks, again, of dumbledore and the hallows, in this setting that feels like the end of the earth:
'Dawn was breaking over the horizon, shell pink and faintly gold, as he washed, again following the train of thought that had come to him in the dark garden . . . Harry dried his hands, impervious to the beauty of the scene outside the window and to the murmuring of the others in the sitting room. He looked out over the ocean and felt closer, this dawn, than ever before, closer to the heart of it all.'
in the rest of the chapter, of course, harry will make some of the most important choices he’ll ever make. he'll choose to talk first to griphook over ollivander, a choice he recognises as making the ultimate decision to hunt horcruxes over hallows. the conversations with these characters will each inch him closer to the end of his quest, and of his life. and he’ll think about who he is — who dumbledore understood him to be — and throw back veils of understanding to see himself most clearly for the first time, the most significant epiphany scene bar the later discovery of his own death in dumbledore’s office.
'You gave Ron the Deluminator . . . You understood him. . . . You gave him a way back . . . And you understood Wormtail too. . . . You knew there was a bit of regret there, somewhere. . . . And if you knew them . . . What did you know about me, Dumbledore?'
i really love these lines on their own terms, but i just think this chapter, and harry’s time at shell cottage, are some of the most significant statements of harry’s essence as a character we get in the whole series. we’re seeing who harry has become and all that dumbledore knew that he was: the core elements of harry, the cumulative weight of the preceding years on his shoulders, and the person made and moulded by everything he has been through up to this point. he's seeing clearly now. in his grief over dobby, he finally masters the connection with his mind and voldemort’s, using his grief and his love as a barrier, and chooses who he will be.
so i just think it means so much that ginny is brought, quietly, into the frame at this extremely pivotal point. she’s a little driftwood fire in a warm little family home by the sea, a brief moment of pause and safety and sanctuary, before the end; not holding harry back from his fate, but giving him some strength, some comfort, as he embraces it.
(ps: the next time ginny is mentioned, in the next chapter, shell cottage, it happens during this sweet little dinnertime scene by the fireplace, with romantic undertones with fleur worrying about bill in his absence, right before remus bursts in to announce that his own wife has just given birth to their son, with harry surrounded by all this talk of little families... ok i'll stop i'll stop but honestly):
A strong wind gusted against the cottage windows as Bill and Ollivander set off into the night. The rest of them squeezed in around the table; elbow to elbow and with barely enough room to move, they started to eat. The fire crackled and popped in the grate beside them. Fleur, Harry noticed, was merely playing with her food; she glanced at the window every few minutes; however, Bill returned before they had finished their first course, his long hair tangled by the wind. "Everything's fine," he told Fleur. "Ollivander settled in, Mum and Dad say hello. Ginny sends you all her love...'

Say your response about snape reacting to hinny, honestly it IS one of my guilty pleasures in fics. I hate when people say that jily and hinny are similar therefore harry has an oedipus complex, he is NOT. He cant have it bc he wasnt raised by his parents so he couldnt have it. I like the pararell simply bc it fixes the "what could have been", idk i think its a bittersweet sentiment. And like ginny is similar to lily NOT in appearances. They dont look alike, the most is just an anecdote for 'Potters and redheads' but I do like how theyre girls' girls you know? Despite being athletic ginny is girly and so was lily, they are fierce and protective of their friends, they are smart but not bookish smart and know it all like hermione, theyre popular not only bc theyre pretty but bc theyre so nice and friendly. I think its sweet that these are the good qualities Potter boys seem to have fallen in love with. Its a cute history pararell that is not at all creepy and people trying to use it to invalidate hinny are just dumb (im looking at you harmony shippers)
As I said in that post, I do think that Snape certainly saw parallels between James and Lily and Harry and Ginny: Harry's suspicion that Snape keeps him more in detention to keep him away from Ginny is never narratively disproven. And while that could only be due to Snape's intense dislike for Harry, what he find out in DH (including Snape's obsession with the past) points in the direction of him seeing James and Lily in Harry and Ginny, even simply because Harry looks like James and Ginny is a redhead.
Though, as you said, Ginny and Lily look nothing alike and if people knew how the oedipus complex works, they would know that if Harry had one, he would fall for someone similar to Petunia.
Now, let's look at Ginny and Lily's differences in appearance.
Ginny is short, Lily should be of average height.
Ginny is athletic, Lily is not.
Ginny has freckles (even if not many, at least on her face), Lily doesn't.
Ginny has flaming red hair, Lily has dark red hair.
Ginny has bright brown eyes, Lily has green eyes.
Also, from these traits, we can deduce Ginny has a warm undertone, while Lily has a cold one.
Of course, if jily fan artists stopped drawing Ginny with green contacts where Lily should be, it would help reminding people they are not long lost twins.
That said, there are some personality similarities between Ginny and Lily (and I also think the concept of Potter men falling for redheads is lovely).
We found out Lily was popular with the boys through an interview in which Rowling, to explain that particular point, directly used Ginny as reference.
They are also both great with a wand
They are both cheeky with professors, and for sure the fact that Slughorn likes both very much is telling.
They are both smart.
They both have a strong sense of justice.
They are both brave.
They both know what it means to lose a very close friend.
In general some similarities between the two are sort of inevitable considering that Lily is Harry's mother and Harry and Ginny are quite similar.
But there are also a lot of differences between them.
Ginny grew up poor, and while Lily didn't grow up rich, she was not Weasley type of poor.
Ginny grew up in the countryside in the open air, Lily grew up in the suburbs (I apologize to all the Brits if this is not the correct term).
Ginny is the younger of seven siblings and the only girl, Lily is the younger of two sisters.
Ginny is part of a close-knit family, Lily isn't.
Ginny is a pureblood, Lily is a muggleborn.
Ginny is an athlete, Lily isn't.
Ginny is popular with boys like Lily, but Ginny is also in general a very charismatic person who can keep the attention of a room, there's no proof of Lily being popular in that sense.
Ginny has a thing for taking emarginate/fragile people under her wing, we don't know if that's the case with Lily, the only person we see her defend is her best friend (also, we can be sure Ginny would have been considerably more angry about the Mary MacDonald episode).
Ginny has a stand-up comedian sense of humor, and while Lily seems to have a sense of humor it's not really on that level.
Ginny can be quite feminine, we really don't know if that's the case for Lily, though I would suspect a teenage girl in a boarding school in the 70s who grew up in a female-dominated house would be.
Lily's dominant trait seems to be kindness, and while I do consider Ginny generally kind, it definitely is not her dominant trait.
And of course they grew up in very different political circumstances, Lily had an overall normal teenagehood, Ginny was touched by darkness extremely young.
And I really could go on for hours in explaining why they are different, but it really wouldn't be fair. Ginny is a three dimensional character with light and dark sides, various interests, and fully developed narrative arcs that go on for seven books, while Lily simply covers the role of the angel woman and is therefore quite aetherial as a figure.
Regardless of this, as you pointed out, there's an element when it comes to jily and hinny of "fixing history", it's something Rowling has quite an obsession for throughout the seven books, the idea of the next generation doing better than the previous one. It is the reason why, for example, we see Draco in the epilogue, to show that Harry learned from the people before him to not hold hatred for years.
Harry and Ginny's story kind of reproduces James and Lily's one in a way. With one partner that falls first, and years of misinterpretation and refusal to admit attraction from the other. But this brings me to my next point, which is that if anything Ginny is James not Lily in terms of personality and the role she covers in her romantic endgame relationship, and it makes sense considering Harry is more like Lily: if the combination of James and Lily's personalities works, and Harry is more like Lily, it is only reasonable to assume Ginny will be somewhat similar to James. There's a foundation of truth in the idea that people usually end up marrying someone similar to one of their parents, and it's not the oedipus complex.
James and Ginny both have a tendency to surround themselves with "fragile" people.
They are both excellent Quidditch players, they both are chasers with a talent for snitches.
They are both bold and a bit arrogant.
Even if for different reasons, they both grew up a bit isolated.
They both do not have much of a problem with hexing someone they consider an idiot.
They are both really funny.
They are both smart and great with a wand.
They are both charismatic.
They are both dorks at their core.
They are both purebloods.
They both have a fascination for stories and heroes and in general have a romantic streak.
They both had to go through a journey of maturation to show their true selves to the object of their affection.
In general, I have to say that while there are parallels between the characters of the two different generations, I find it very limiting to connect a character to only another of the other group.
As written above, Harry and Ginny –in spirit if you will– are respectively Lily and James and inevitably therefore they assume those roles in their romantic stories. But there are points of view in which Harry is James and Ginny is Lily.
Harry, like James, is sort of the leader of his friend group, and Ginny as Lily is more or less the external element that eventually enters the group. In this idea Ron would be Sirius, the best mate of the leader. Though of course, the connection between Ginny and Ron is much stronger than the one between Lily and Sirius. And always in this perspective, Hermione is Remus, and not only in the role of the other friend. Hermione's loyalty to Harry seems often unjustified, sometimes it seems she would have been friends with Harry and Ron regardless of who they were simply because they accepted her as a friend and she didn't have any. This is a behavior that is reminiscent of Remus' inability to truly critique James and Sirius' questionable behaviors because they accepted him despite his werewolf condition. But then who is Peter? I've seen people say it would be Neville because they are both the losers, and always following the concept of the next generation being better, Neville does better then Peter because he doesn't let his fears turn him into a bad person. It's not even wrong as a concept but Neville is way closer to Ginny than he is to Harry. And then there's Luna. I've seen the people supporting this perspective of the generational parallels claim she would be Snape. Because they are both marginalized weirdos, and Luna does better than Snape because she does not turn into a death eater because of her isolation. Frankly, I'm not particularly convinced by the idea of defining Snape as an emarginate weirdo.
So as you can see, while some parallels can make sense, they always have their limits.
Another relatively popular idea is Ron and Hermione being like James and Lily. I've always found it very weak despite having some valid points. Yes, they are a pureblood and a muggleborn, Ron and Hermione are both prefects like James and Lily are both headstudents, and romione tends to cover quite often the role of surrogate parents for Harry. There's also an element of contrast between the partners. But fundamentally the dynamics are very different. Ron and Hermione have been best friends since age 11, that's definitely not the case for James and Lily. Then of course when you look at the relationship between Harry and the Weasleys, Harry is Sirius and Ron is James.
And to circle back to hinny: while I do not want to encourage the prongsfoot shippers, if you look at Harry and Ginny in terms of chemistry and attitude towards each other, they are James and Sirius, from the non-verbal communication to the banter. If you have ever read the short story Rowling wrote about James and Sirius, you can attest to the fact that those two could have easily been Harry and Ginny.
I think I might have gone quite out of the borders of your ask, but what I wanted to explain is that there are a lot of parallels that could be made between a lot of different characters, and they could be interesting to discuss without turning them into weird bashing theories.
I find that it is also important to distinguish between actual parallels the story makes, and dynamics that are similar simply because they are all written by the same author who, as authors do, has her themes and fixations.
The parallels between hinny and jily certainly exist, some are on purpose, and some are the consequence of how similar Harry and Ginny are. But one thing is for sure, if Harry married one of his parents, he married his father (lol).

Snarry-a-Thon 2011 Recs
Snarry-a-Thon is an annual fest of Snarry goodness that always brings so much creativity and joy in the Snarry community. I am forever blown away by how much talent and passion Snarry-lovers have. With that in mind, I wanted to create some special recs for a fest near and dear to my heart.
With that, here are my Top 5 picks for the 2011 fest! But first...
Disclaimer: my rec lists are created based on my personal experiences and preferences. There are plenty of other stories and authors who are quite good and deserve just as much love. This is not meant to be an objective “best of the best” list, but the subjective opinion of a longtime reader and fangirl.

Severus regards Harry for a long moment, then leans in again, breath trailing across Harry’s lips. "Choose carefully, Potter. This is no time for games."

After the war, Harry finds that Snape is alive - and in Azkaban. Unfortunately, the only people allowed to visit inmates are immediate relations - or their spouses.

Liv, meu anjo, I come here asking for some very niche shit, but I believe only you can help me. I'm atm weirdly obsessed/craving to read some drarry + Draco kissing/eating out women in the same fic. Do you have any bisexual Draco recs for me? I'm open to any kinds of open/infidelity/groupsex/whatevah fics. 😎 Love u xuxu
The way I gasped in delight seeing this ask! We are indeed taste twins, I love bi Drarry with all of my heart and imho we deserve more group sex/triad/threesome fics with ladies in this fandom 🌝 I think I’ve read more but in the interest of keeping this list Explicit I chose to highlight the fics below. I’ll do some extra digging and come back to update this list if I find more!
Most fics have Harry and Draco together in the sex scene, but a few feature Draco/female character on his own. I’ll also link Lipstick by @kbrick which doesn’t exactly fit the ask but it’s gonna be right up your alley: Harry/Ginny & Pansy/Draco becoming Ginsy and Drarry 😏 Enjoy my love!
Sharing by Alisanne (3.5k) - Harry/Draco/Pansy, endgame Drarry
Harry is tense, and his houseguests help him to relax.
Hermione Granger and the Day Ron Weasley Called her a Slut by ellebesea (4k) - Drarry, Harry/Draco/Hermione
To be honest, Harry had also found Hermione’s determined mingling with the Slytherins to be odd, but he knew better than to actually confront her about it. Besides, he isn’t exactly one to talk, is he? Not when one considers his newfound urge to show his dick off to Malfoy, anyway.
Flatmates by @unmistakablyoatmeal (5.5k) - Drarry + Romione, foursome
Hermione is just as bossy inside the bedroom as she is out of it. The reason Draco knows this is because Harry's walls are too thin.
Better Than by marguerite_26 (11k) - Hinny + Draco, triad
Ginny offers Harry something a little different for their anniversary.
The Waiting by @oknowkiss, art by @babooshkart (43k) - established Drarry in a foursome 😈
It’s been almost ten years since Draco Malfoy disappeared during a routine Curse Breaker training exercise. Harry, his partner in more ways than one, is determined to figure out why. As the past resurfaces and the present fades into confusion, Harry discovers the only thing more unreliable than memory is love.
Super Rich Kids by @thusspoketrish (81k) - Draco/OFC, endgame Drarry
Draco Malfoy has become disillusioned by the glitz and glamour of the scandalous lives of the Post-Second Wizarding War Pureblood Elite. Enter: one existential crisis, one group of thieving cynical friends, and several terrible, terrible decisions.
Eagles in Truro (Alt: That filthy one that snuck in a plot.) by @vukovich (284k) - Drarry & multiple ships
Hermione Granger just wants to get laid and maybe someday become Supreme Mugwump. Ronald Weasley just wants to build a dubiously-criminal empire and hug everybody. Harry Potter just wants... he's not sure, but it might be Malfoy. Draco Malfoy just wants to survive the post-war world. And snuggles.
