Lady Crimson (my oc) ft. Sharon Carter | oneshot

Warnings: criminal underworld

An: one of my many long standing drafts, collecting dust. This was inspired by TFATWS, specifically life in Madripoor. My oc came to mind instantly. I’ve said before Sharon Carter annoyed me in the movies and seemed like such a filler character. But I did like her in this. She went from blah to interesting to me. I’m also soft for art x lesbians /queer women and morally grey women. So yeah. I didn’t expand the idea behind this yet, so just sharing as it it. I have 147 drafts 😩 I hope to clear some out over the coming months.

Madripoor wasn’t for the faint of heart. Morality, a sense of decency, and any aversion to excess is best left on the other side of the bridge. If you want to do right, if you want to be good and play by the rules, Madripoor will eat you alive.

Madripoor’s underbelly is run by crooks, masterminds, manipulators, smugglers and those willing to do whatever it takes so survive. Be the shark or get eaten.

The city is full of criminals, every type you could imagine. But it’s not always the best place to hide, despite it being known as a criminal safe haven. Some in Madripoor will do anything for a big pay day.

The rate of captured bounties in the city is high. The only way for a wanted person to survive, and not get caught, is to outsmart everyone else and create a believable and fool proof identity. Just as important as that; don’t get close, to anyone. Privacy = survival.

Friends in high places helps, sometimes, but no one really is your friend in Madripoor. At least not in the underbelly, the high rises, the well off crowds. Even in a crowd, everyone laughing, hugging and enjoying themselves, it’s still every woman (man, person) for themselves.

One of the best things a person could do is align themselves with the big bosses and the Power Broker, but even that, didn’t come with guarantees, not long standing ones anyway.

Club Lilith, Friday night

Lady Crimson made her way through the dance floor, observing the crowd as they drank and danced. She took ownership of this place 4 years ago, and it’s still the hottest club in town. Madripoor is full of places to party, and of the top 10, half belong to her.

Over the last 5 years, her name has become synonyms with nightlife, parties, and the most elite gatherings. What started years ago as underground parties has now grown to an empire.

Lady Crimson is one of the top 12 wealthiest people in Madripoor. In a city of people making their riches by illegal means, it wasn’t an easy ranking to get.

Making her way to the third floor, she stepped into the waiting room of her office to see a familiar face. In the far left of the room, a large canvas. The three men leave the room after the blonde signaled to them.

“I’ve been here for 16 minutes.” She tops off her drink at the bar.

“I was busy,” Crimson grinned, her eyes darted to the glass, two fingers of whiskey, “you helped yourself I see.”

“I don’t have time to wait.” Sharon, drink in hand, walked over to the canvas. “ the Guillaume, hand delivered as requested.”

Crimson sauntered over to it, taking her sweet time. Standing before it, her smile widened as she took in the imagery.

“You have grossly overcharged for this, Carter,” her eyes briefly leave the painting. She makes eye contact with Sharon, who is already watching her. “It’s criminal,” a sly foxlike grin lingers on her lips, “bad girl.”

Sharon grinned in response.

“I’ll forgive it,” Crimsons eyes return to the painting, “I’ve been searching for this for many years,” she hovers her hand over the painting. The silver bracelets stacked on her wrist jingled, “well worth the inflation.”

Sharon sipped her drink as her eyes wandered. Yes, the Guillaume is a breathtaking piece, Sharon was almost tempted to keep it for herself. But it’s not what has her attention.

Lady Crimson is hard to ignore. Tall, athletic, a beautiful face with striking green eyes. She could often be found decorating herself with dark heavy makeup, leather, crushed velvet, and sheer fabrics. Her look is best described as goth underground meets high fashion. She liked wigs, and often had a different hair color each time you saw her.

Crimson, like most smart people in Madripoor is mysterious, and keeps herself that way. No one knows anything about her, where she came from, or who she was before coming here 10 years ago.

There’s something fox like about her, and from the very first meeting, it drew Sharon in. There’s also a clever quality to Crimsion, and a look in her eye like she know more than anyone else around her.

She’s also one of the people who seem completely unintimidated by Sharon’s rise in the ranks and title as Power Broker. It’s Madripoor, someone always wants what you have, challengers come left and right. Sharon had seen plenty, and there will always be more to come.

But Crimson didn’t care about that, or display any interest in taking the role for herself. She just liked to test Sharon. She’d be late on purpose, make Sharon wait, challenge her prices. At first, it frustrated Sharon, now, through she won’t admit it, she finds it entertaining, maybe even looks forward to it.

Sharon didn’t care who anyone was, as long as she got paid and kept her status. She can’t recall the last time she even found herself curious about a person, and their real identity.

Crimson took a step back from the painting. Her eyes are still glued to it when she speaks,

“If you ever get your hands on an Acacio,” her eyes meet Sharon’s, “I’ll pay you whatever you want.”

Sharon put the empty drink down. The small raise of her brow gets Crimsons attention.

“You have one?” Crimson walked over to her.

“You’re mistaken.” Sharon slid her hands in her pockets, her eyes locked on Crimsons.

A wide jokers grin lights up Crimsons face, she steps into Sharon’s personal space.

“How much?”

“Did I say I have one?” Sharon keeps her poker face, her eyebrows still. Crimsons always been able to catch her micro expressions, even if no one else does. She also suppresses her excitement.

Anabela Acacio is one Sharon’s favorite artists. The photographer /painter moved Sharon to tears the first time she saw her work. Though the artist is long gone now, and only saw medium level fame during her time, she amassed a huge cult following.

Sharon also found her work later in life, a couple of years before the snap when she was dealing with her newly realized identity as a bisexual woman. Something always felt like it was missing, there was always a hunger left in her, one the men she bedded couldn’t fill. Once Sharon realized her true identity, it changed everything. And discovering the underground queer icon, Anabela Acacio, at the same time was life changing.

Not that Sharon needed much to deepen her draw to Crimson, but the fact that she knows Acacio, it nearly makes Sharon crumble on the spot.

“You’ve grown quiet, Carter,” Crimson leaned forward slightly, she can see an almost unnoticeable shift in Sharon’s breathing, “you do have one.”

Sharon’s lips part as they hold each-others gaze. Her eyes drop briefly to Crimsions lips, full soft looking lips painted a deep red, vampire red.

Crimson catches her, and smirks, “how much?”

“Never said I had one,” Sharon pulled herself together and takes a step back, putting distance between them. “If one makes its way to me, you’ll be my first call.”

Crimson only grins as her.

Sharon heads for the door. “I have another meeting. One you’ve made me late for. “

“They’ll live,” Crimson sat on the couch and extended her arms over the back, “what are you selling?”

Sharon looks back with a half smile, “art nouveau sculpture.”

Crimson whistles, “damn. I can imagine the price tag on that one. Let me guess, you added the Carter tax?”

“What is it you always say,” Sharon pretends to think,“be the shark or get eaten?”

Lady Crimson chucked, “I do. But , don’t over use it, I’ll sue you, plus tax.”

Sharon laughs and opens the doors. “We’ll see about that.”

Crimson watches her exit and disappear behind the doors. “We shall.”

Be My Safe Place - A Short Story

WARNINGS: Abuse, anxiety, depression, homophobia, references to suicide, PTSD

This is one of the heaviest things I've ever written, but I'm enjoying it so far! Hope you like it too :)

Part 1

A knife is thrown at my head again and again. There are people all around me that could do something about it, but they don’t. They don’t care at all.

The faceless people couldn’t care less about what goes on in their home. And that’s fair, considering the same thing happens there every night:

I walk into the wide, empty room. The faceless people are there. They’re always there, always ignoring me.

I get a glass of water from an unattended bar. I’m thirsty. Always thirsty.

I walk over to the only empty table. There are only 5 tables, and probably a hundred people in here.

I sit down.

There is an indecipherable shout. I stand up, and then he arrives.

My father walks into the room. He starts throwing kitchen knives at me. And I do nothing. I don’t scream or flinch. I’m used to this, and I know he can’t actually hurt me.

Not anymore. And not when I wake up.

These nightmares have been happening for four months now. Almost every night, I am back in that room being attacked by my father.

I shouldn’t act like I don’t know what the room is: it’s my high school cafeteria, but emptier. It is where I’ve had some of my worst memories, and it is where I still have to go every day.

I pretend to not care. I pretend to not shake every time I walk in.

I pretend to be okay, but I am not. If I was okay, he wouldn’t try to hurt me every night. If I was okay, my mom wouldn’t have to hide the kitchen knives because they terrify me. If I was okay, we wouldn’t be spending thousands of dollars on anxiety medication and therapy.

Whenever I wake up from these nightmares, I don’t hyperventilate or scream to get my mom’s attention. I just sit there, staring into the darkness. Sometimes I turn on the light for a second, just to know that I am still in the safe place.

Sometimes, I do wonder if it’s worth it to keep living like this—costing my mother lots of money for things that aren’t helping, anxiety about every little unnecessary thing, feeling like I will never be okay again. Sometimes, I wonder if I should just cease to exist.

But then I think of my mother. She can’t lose another person she loves. So I’ll keep holding on, no matter how hard it is.

Maybe that’s another reason Mom hid the kitchen knives: she knows I’m barely holding on.

The only good part of school these days is her.

She sits in the back of every class, except for math, where our teacher placed her in the front because she’s a well-behaved genius and Ms. Anderson likes having her best students in front.

aShe is quiet. She has friends, of course—I’ve seen her with them shopping or at the park. But at school, she floats around alone. Alone, but content. She is at peace in the quiet, unlike me.

She is kind. Someone asks her for help, she helps, no questions asked. The biggest bully in school could ask her to tutor them, and she’d agree with a soft smile.

And she is beautiful. She has the kind of quiet beauty that you can’t truly appreciate unless you make a point to notice her. And I do. I notice her every day.

Autumn Kurtis makes school worth it.

But it’s hard to be so interested in her when every time I feel butterflies in my stomach, I am reminded of why my father hated me.

Having a gay daughter was the final straw for him. After I came out to my parents, it was never the same in our house. Mom accepted me immediately, but my father stood up and walked out. Later, I heard him shouting at my mom. I’ll never forget what he said: “If I’d known you’d make a lesbian, I would never have—”

I didn’t need to hear the rest of it. At that point, I shut my hands over my ears and locked myself in my closet, the only place I couldn’t hear them fight.

I immediately wished I hadn’t told them. My dad said he regretted both me and my mom in one sentence.

The next morning, I walked downstairs to get a glass of water, and he cornered me in the kitchen.

“Listen here, Quinn,” he said, grabbing my arm tightly. He’d never sounded so terrifying. “If you can’t figure out how to make yourself normal, we’re going to have a problem. You hear me?”

I was too scared to speak. I nodded. “Good. I will not have a lesbian as a daughter.”

He let go of me roughly. I ran up to my room, still clutching my water. I sat down on my bed and rolled up my hoodie sleeves. I had red marks on my arm from where he’d grabbed me. I stood up, but my knees buckled, and I slid down against the side of my bed.

I wanted to scream, but I was terrified to make any noise at all. I put my hand over my mouth and sobbed.

I was a mistake. He hated me. He would hate me forever unless I changed.

But I knew I couldn’t change. I would always be like this. So I would never be safe.

And he knew that. He always knew I still wasn’t “normal”.

Author’s note: I did it a bit differently because I couldn’t get to six situations but here’s three and possessive Natasha for you.

In your whole relationship with Natasha, you had never once seen her jealous. Mostly because both of you are very much femme lesbians. You so much so that most lesbians don’t even try to hit on you. In fact, it had taken Natasha a damn long time to discover you are into women. After securing her relationship with you, she started enjoying having a girl on her arm that most men desire. He loves to see you wave them off and slip back to her side. After a few months of dating her, she started egging men on to ask you out. The look on your face when you refused them, the look on their face when they realized you were with Natasha. It is pure gold to her. Her preferred mode of entertainment.

The first time she did it, your relationship was quite fresh. She had just asked you to be her girlfriend mere days ago when she saw a new recruit eying you up and down while you were working out. At first, it was just to test your relationship. She wanted to make sure you weren’t playing with her feelings just to say that you got Black Widow in your bed so she wanted to bait you if you were lying about being attracted to women. She went up to the recruit and told him to wipe the drool off his chin. He apologized to her for staring and she asked him why he should apologize to her. “Well, because, ehm- It’s very unprofessional to drool over your superiors,” he stuttered, “but I have to ask-” “Let me guess, you want to know if she’s single?” He nodded. That’s when the idea popped into her head. “I’m not sure. You should go ask her.” She watched contently, arms crossed in front of her chest with a cheeky grin playing on her lips. It took less than a minute until the shocked eyes of the recruit met hers. That was wonderful.

Natasha kept egging men on. When you were going out, when new recruits were eying you, whenever she could. But the day Peter Parker asked her if you were single was the crown jewel. She had never seen his face so flushed and his face flushes a lot. She laughed about it for days while you pleaded with her to drop it for the sake of Peter but you knew she wouldn’t. Secretly, you thought it was funny as well.

And then you started making use of her tactics, using them for a cheap night out. You’d always sit down at a bar together and Natasha would go to the bathroom until a man would join you and started buying you drinks. It never took long. More often than not, they didn’t realize you weren’t into men and you got a free night out of it. ‘Hey darling, can I buy you a drink?’ You look up and smile, expecting a man to have asked the question. No, a woman stands beside you with a flirty grin on her lips. ‘Oh, ehm-’ You can see Natasha approach from behind the woman. A devious thought creeps into your head. She never gets jealous but what if she did? ‘Yeah, that’d be nice,’ you say flirtatiously as you put your hand on the woman’s arm. The woman slips into the seat next to you, the seat that Natasha had taken before. She orders drinks for both of you but notices you aren’t watching her as she is watching you. ‘So who are you trying to make jealous,’ the woman asks when the drinks are placed in front of you. You give her a questioning look. ‘Oh come on, you’re not even looking at me,’ the woman laughs, ‘who is it?’ ‘My girlfriend. She never gets jealous.’ ‘That’s just because you attract men, not women. I’ve seen you here before.’ She gently lays her hand on your thigh. ‘Is she looking?’ ‘Yes,’ you gasp. ‘Good.’ The woman grins and leans closer to you. ‘Alright, that’s enough,’ Natasha barks as she drags you away from the woman and out of the bar. She’s pissed but you feel a little proud. As the two of you walk down the street back to the Avengers tower, Natasha refuses to look at the grin plastered on your face. ‘I made you jealous,’ you speak proudly. She scoffs but doesn’t reply. ‘You can say that you were jealous. I would be too.’ ‘Of that woman? Never.’ ‘Oh, so I can go back and finish my drink?’ It happens in a flash. One second you’re on the sidewalk, the next you’re pushed against the wall in an alleyway. Natasha holds both of your hands at the wrist above your head, leaving her with a free hand that harshly digs its fingers into your hip. You gasp when she leaves a trail of wet kisses down your neck before biting down on your collarbone for a second. ‘You’re mine.’ Her eyes meet yours. They’re blown out with lust and anger. You’ve never seen her like this and you’re going to make the most of it. ‘I never took you for the possessive type,’ you tease but she makes you swallow your words when her hand dips under your dress and starts playing with the lace of your panties. ‘You want to see how possessive I can get? I’ll make you scream my name right here. Make the whole town know who you belong to.’ ‘I belong to no one.’ ‘We’ll see about that.’

OHOHOH…. OHOHOHOHOOHOH. im doing this twice bc i wanna talk abt MY favorites and also like mechanically the best ones.

personally:

1. the golden cat from dishonored 1. i just like it so much. Emily :) and it’s so pretty!!! I could probably write a paper about the art inside the golden cat let alone the like actual design of it

2. lady boyles last party from dishonored 1. need i say more. the color the pizzaz the funny aristocrats the guy you can harass till he calls the guards and when they come you can say (drunkly) im an agent of the outsider and then they leave you alone. i used to listen to the ambient sounds of this while i worked i can hear those muffled fireworks in my dreams

3. the opening ray fight in metal gear rising revengence! the fuckin, the PIZZAZZ! the METAL! the SLASHING! its SO much fun. you run up a CLOCKTOWER and EXPLODE and SLICE and DICE. SWAG!!!

4. speaking of platinum games. the final jean/bayonetta fight bayonetta 1! i am so godawful at bayonetta but even with that it is SO mych fun and it brings together so many skills and feels good to play (even when loosing!) in a way that the other jean fights dont- you’re finally on even footing, rather then the backfoot. also, lesbian win.

5. Yakuza 0 final boss rush 💛 the bosses are rewarding and wicked fun. Fuck the kiryu boat though those guns are total bullshit.

Mechanically:

1. I can’t not say the clockwork mansion from dishonored 2 here. Did you know that the entire mansion could actually work irl? Like it’s not just bits clipping through each other- it all has a place to go. The only exception is one room at the very front of the mansion, where the ceiling pulls apart to reveal a higher, cooler ceiling. The dev team decided it would be okay to have 1 swaggy ass moment at the expense of possibility (the bars that make up the ceiling just kind of shoot out the side of the mansion, LOL). there’s so much to go into here both technologically and mechanically- the npc pathing, the clockwork soldiers, the hiding in the walls like a rat, the ghost run being so VERY fast because jindosh’s greatest strength (his big fucked up mansion) is also hos greatest weakness (i am inside your walls and you cant do anything about it HA! bitch.) also tho i hate fighting clockworks its so scary and i am such a baby. on high chaos its a blast tho bc you have so much more power- on low i am so scared. i suspect they will be the end of me several times on my groundhog day run

2. A crack in the slab from (bet you wont guess) dishonored 2. the time travel mechanic is SO fun to play with! my only qualm is that it comes at a time when you’re really laying into your powers, only to loose them here. that’s why this isnt higher. But i live that you can solve jindosh’s lock, i live that it’s different ever time, i love the gang politics of overseers vs hatters, i love granny rag’s hand, i could go on and on and on. Do you have any idea how insane i went the first time i knocked over a rickety balcony in the past and climbed its rubble in the present? cuz it was very.

3. Little nightmares’ janitor library sneak round. My heart is in my throat every time I play, it’s done so very well. Little nightmares gets a lot of shoutouts on this front- encounters are timed excellently to keep me on my toes every time, without feeling overwhelmed or so perfectly timed that it’s a fifty fifty on wether i’ll actually make it. (looking at you, little nightmares 2)

4. Framed. The whole thing. Framed is a puzzle game that involves the player shuffling around ‘frames’ in a comic, to change the course of the story. Specifically the very end of framed 1 is just wonderful- the swing back around to the beginning of the game and watching it all come together is so, UGH, its so cool.

5. Portal 2 wheatley fight. The fucking moon, man

honorary mentions:

the final boss in plunge! It’s hard as hell, but so insanely rewarding. It really pulls all the previous mechanics together nicely, and i cheer every time i beat it. You will play plunge now.

Playdead’s inside’s chicken shooting in the farmhouse! The game is dark, but for me this was the first moment where it really starts to click- the last chick that wasn’t moving. And then you go straight into the factory and it all really kicks off.. phenomenal tone.

Every Sunday Killua, Gon, Leorio and Kurapika meet up to play "Dungeon x Hunter" (loosely based on DnD 5e) with Leorio as Dungeon Master. Why is Leorio the DM, you ask? Well, these nerds all met at the college roleplaying club two years ago, but recently, with Kurapika in law school and Leorio in med school, and Killua and Gon taking harder undergrad classes, no one has time to meet up anymore. Therefore, Leorio has taken it upon himself to DM their sessions, just as an excuse to get everyone together once a week.

Alluka, also a college student, is staying with Killua during the Christmas Break. Having heard about these Sunday roleplaying sessions from Killua, and especially about the antics of a chaotic multiclass druid/barbarian who keeps adopting all the animals (Gon duh), she asks if she can come along. The crew welcome Alluka into the nerd fold as romance gradually blossoms between Gon and Killua, and Leorio fights to keep Kurapika from ghosting them all as a stress response to lawschool deadlines.

Basically a heartwarming slice of life story about nerds playing Dungeons and Dragons. I'll be updating Wednesdays and Sundays until all the chapters are posted.

There’s so many things I love about the show that I haven’t seen people give enough credit for and I want to go on a little ramble because people are focusing so much on what they don’t like vs. what they do. So here’s my list. Sorry for the grammatical errors 😬

I love that the lesbian main character is this sweet, innocent, big hearted young woman and not portrayed as a overly sexual fuckboi that hits on every woman. I love that Fatou is soft and gentle. More lesbian rep like that please

I love the soundtrack. It’s exactly the type of stuff I imagine Fatou would listen to and it’s not just the top 100 hit songs.

I love that they use the soundtrack as a way to connect to the plot line, like the lyrics to the song Fatou was listening to when she was on the rooftop said “And I hate to leave you feeling all alone.But your story cannot start until you've grown. You can find how to be OK on your own. I just can't be the one that makes you feel at home” which was a hint as to where the plot was going

I love the little mannerisms Nhungi chooses to show as Kieu My. The happy little bounce she did in ep 1 when she called out Fatou’s name and when she subtly checked Fatou out by looking her up and down.

I love how their rooms show their individual personality so well. Like Fatou’s room in the beginning of the season was normal and then it became increasingly messy as the episodes moved forward, showing her stress and chaos in her life

I love when her brother and her were thinking of what to get their parents so they split the bill on a gift - a very subtle way of showing siblings interacting

I love when Fatou and Ismail interact cuz it’s so funny

I love that the characters rewear clothing. And it’s not a show where every episode is a new outfit with new clothes. Very realistic and it always bothered me when teens on highschool on tv have new clothes every episode

I love that Fatou’s original bio on tinder was “wanna cuddle?”. I feel like that girl would rather cuddle with someone than win the lottery. She’s so soft (also why did it say she was 24 in ep 2 when she was on tinder lol)

I love that the show showed the struggles of coming from a bilingual family and being the only one that struggles to speak it. When fatou was talking to her grandparents with her brother and her brother had to translate for her and it was awkward af, I felt that. I’m the youngest in my family and I struggle to speak Tagalog so people have to translate for me sometimes and it sucks.

^^ I relate to fatou so much in that scene cuz the dynamic in my family is the same as Fatou’s. My parents lay off and let me and my brother do our thing unless there’s an indication we need their help. The only time I ever spoke about school with my family was when report cards would come and they would see my grades weren’t that good. I remember my mom seeing I had a D in middle school and automatically jumping to conclusiosn without letting me speak. My brother is academically successful and he would also try and get me to do more school stuff when I was younger. Like he would make me do math problems to help with my grades. So it’s all very relatable for me

I love when Fatou sings, her voice is so soft and smooth.

I love whenever Kieu My and fatou are flirting both so blatantly and yet so subtly. Like the tension is there but it’s still awkward despite how smooth they both try to be it’s so adorable

I love how Fatou and Kieu My are so confident flirting and talking to eachother through texting but when it’s irl it’s still awkward and new. It shows the reality of an actual relationship in the making. It’s not just a full head dive into “I love you”.

I love when they were at the table tennis bar place and Fatou was hyping up Ava when there were dudes looking at them and Ava did a fancy ass turn and smile. She’s so pretty

I love that Fatou’s problems were shown in subtle ways in the beginning with money. Counting money at her job and when she wa trying to pay for the drink at the bar. It was a small interaction but in real life it would cause a lot of stress and anxiety if money counting problems kept happening over and over again

I love Yara and Josh’s friendship. More platonic friendship between a male and a female please. Also more Yara in general please.

I love that Zoe owned up to her actions last year to the entire group (minus Ismail Constantine and Kieu my) on New Years. I see her owning up to the role as Nora’s big sister.

I love when Josh was drinking a lot during New Years and Fatou was trying to get him to slow down. It shows how big her heart is for her friends. Also I think Josh and Fatou could be great friends

I love that Kieu My looks at Fatou like she hung the stars. When Fatou mentioned she knew Kieu My was a Scorpio, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen that girl smiled so big (before episode 5 of course)

I love that whenever they kiss Kieu my is smiling.

I love Sira’s side profile. There I said it. Girl has the jawline of a Greek goddess.

I love that they change Fatou’s hair. She looks good in every hair style but it’s always nice to see her in different styles.

I love that they showed the struggles of being a passive and gentle person. Because we’re not assertive in regular everyday life we are easily looked over. And it’s hard for us to muster the gusto to be assertive and take what we need because we prefer shying away from conflict and just letting things flow. I relate to fatou’s character so much in that sense. I lowkey think this is the universe’s way of telling me to stop being so passive about life and to take charge idk.

I love that the topic of white savior and performative activism was touched on. And I love that it was between two friends because it’s very realistic to how dynamics work between young people these days. The way they handle it differs in opinion but the fact that they even spoke about it was great.

I love that moment when Kieu My wrapped the vietnamese pancake in the lettuce snd handed it to Fatou. Its so sweet. If I was Fatou I would have forgiven her right then and there lol

I LOVE THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWo. YES MORE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE.

Episode 6. Just all of it. Even the angsty part. I want more of that. Episode 6 yes. I’ll marry episode 6

Kieu My wearing Fatou’s cardigan. 💕💕💕💕💕💕✨✨✨✨✨😫😫💕✨✨🥺

Fatou telling Kieu My it doesn’t matter if she wears make up or not rather than going off on how she looks prettier without it. She’s just like “it doesn’t matter. You’re pretty no matter what, my little space nerd”

Pissed off fatou is a hot fatou. Js

I love Sira’s acting in general. But the way she shows Fatou’s sadness is great. It’s not just tears and that’s it. When she got fired it was a build up of tears but she wasn’t sobbing, same thing with the cashqueens argument. But she broke when her and Kieu My got in a fight.

Finn being socially awkward. It’s so funny cuz Zoe is this bubbly party girl and her boyfriend is so awkward. Nice balance.

^^also his hair makes me laugh idk why

Ismail opening up to Fatou shows how so many people feel at ease with her. Girl has a calming presence for everybody, she doesn’t even realize how much she’s helped others.

I love that Constantine wears the same jacket over and over again. Idk it seems to fit his character.

^^also kudos to the actor who plays him, he’s doing an amazing job

Love Fatou. Love her dimples and her soft voice. She gets all high pitched when she’s normally speaking but when she was fighting with Kieu My her voice became lower. Just love the way Sira’s voice sounds. Also Nhungi’s speaking voice.

Love the shaky camera movements. The fast pans and the slow motion dance scenes.

Love the aesthetic of Kieu My smoking but PLEASE DONT SMOKE, CHILDREN. ITS BAD FOR YOU.

Love the different aesthetics of the cashqueens

Love maike. Great actress. Give this turtle an Oscar.

This season is so important for so many people and i don’t think some people realize that when they’re ‘’criticizing’’ some things. Not only we have a lesbian main, we have a black lesbian main who is the softest person in the world and she has LD and/or ADHD. I sometimes can’t believe we got to the point of skamverse where we get rep instead of hurtful,problematic seasons and plots, some might interpret that as shade but it really isn’t, careless storylines really does hurt ppl and why would you want to hurt people when you can give 8 min of sapphic museum date instead 👭🌌 :)

Fox Mulder:

He was going to make his name William Mulder Jr. up until she disappeared, in which he actually decided to make his first name Fox (he misses her 🥺)

Came out to his parents sometime in high school, both took it badly

Bill was hella transphobic—he was already pretty shitty to Mulder but this added a whole new layer to it

Grew up in a really conservative family and didn’t even consider it an option until he moved out

Skinner fell in love with John “Kitten” James and he fell hard

Absolutely did everything possible to protect that man

He was terrified of his feelings though and pushed them down, eventually starting to resent his best friend for making him feel things he couldn’t understand

When Kitten got infected by that gas, Skinner put his values over the man he loved, not just because he thought it was the right thing to do, but because he was terrified that he might be bi

He has regretted it ever since

Married his wife after the war and had a pretty good relationship until he became too consumed with his work

Their breakup was really hard on him and he delved even more into his work

Sometime after Avatar (maybe by season 5 or 6), Skinner meets a really lovely man and that man becomes his boyfriend

It’s really hard at first, but the guy helps Skinner to open up and allow himself to be okay with who he really is

They make time for each other outside of work and are really happy together!

Skinner’s boyfriend is 100% okay with the fact that Skinner has basically adopted all these agents

John Byers:

Discovered it pretty late in life, like he knew earlier but he Repressed it

First person he ever came out to was Mulder (as in my fic 😌)

Lots of internalized transphobia in this man but Mulder and the Lone Gunmen really helped him break out of that

Langly and Frohike obviously went with him to get his first T shot and chanted “MAN JUICE” while it happened (scaring a lot of the nurses)

Met Susanne before he transitioned so seeing her again in Three of a Kind was a little terrifying for him

She accepts him though and is a bi icon herself

Byers wears suits so much because they make him feel really validated

Ringo Langly:

Non-binary and gay!! Langly uses any pronouns (gonna stick to he/him for this list to keep things simple though)

Grew up pretty unaware about gender as a whole, just living his life

Moving away from home to a city was huge for him, he started going to gay bars and really realized that he was gay

Eventually started to experiment with his gender, using different pronouns etc., and found out he was non-binary!

Came out to Frohike shortly after learning Frohike was bi (more on that later)

Goes by Ringo because it’s somewhat gender neutral

He isn’t dysphoric very often but when he is it’s very hard for him to cope, Byers and Frohike are always there to support him and help however possible though

Langly gets way more dates than Frohike and loves to brag about it

Melvin Frohike:

Frohike had a mega crush on Mulder when he first met him and it persisted all the way until he met Scully

And then when he met Doggett he crushed on him too

John Doggett

GAY MAN

Doggett was really repressed for a lot of his life, not because he thought his family would hate him for being gay but mostly because of his environment

(He was a drama kid though)

The military REALLY repressed him and thoroughly fucked him up

It wasn’t until he met Reyes that he started to accept himself more

At first Reyes being a lesbian totally freaked him out and he was really upset, leading to a huge strain on their friendship, but one night he broke down and told her he was pretty sure he was gay

Reyes really helped him through everything, especially his divorce from his wife and the loss of his son

Doggett eventually came out to his dad, who was super accepting

It took Doggett a long time to be comfortable enough to date but he started and met a really great guy, one who he’s now married to

One day he mentioned his boyfriend in passing and the rest of the Spooky Squad totally flipped out because they had no idea he was gay

Doggett just straight-faced “I didn’t think it was relevant?”

Sings musical theater songs in the office when no one else is there

Monica Reyes:

A lesbian

There isn’t a straight bone in her body have you SEEN her???

Absolutely crushed on Scully for the longest time at first, totally backed off when she realized she was involved with Mulder

Brittana Analysis Part 6: Love Languages

I'm a big believer in the 5 Love Languages. I discovered it all a few years ago and I truly think knowing your partners love language can help your relationship, because you know how to communicate your love to them, and also read their way of showing love.

It got me thinking about Brittany and Santana’s love languages, and in true yin/yang style, how different I believe their specific love languages are.

If you don't know about the 5 love languages maybe give it a google first. I personally find it really interesting. But anyway here's my take (a short novel be warned):

Santana

I think Santana's love language is predominantly Words of Affirmation and Quality Time. You can tell she values words a lot in the way she communicates with Brittany. The way she shows she loves Brittany is by encouraging her, assuring her and listening to her. She's always complimenting her with words:

"You really are a genius Brittany"

"You're the most amazing dancer i've ever met"

"You are the unicorn"

"You're my lady knight in shining armour"

"You're my best friend"

"You're my favourite person in the whole world"

"You make me so happy"

Also note that most of the time Santana is the one to initiate saying 'I love you'. This doesn't mean Brittany doesn't love her as much, we'll get to that in a minute, she just has a different way of showing it. But Santana definitely values words! You can also see as well as giving love that way, she likes receiving words back to make her feel loved. Examples of this:

"Please say you love me back" 2x15

"I said I love you. You didn’t say you loved me back." 2x17

"Are we dating?" 3x04

She needs concrete proof and words to solidify it, whereas Brittany is the opposite. She already knows, without the words being said. Note that she says "Of course I love you" like it should be obvious to Santana. It's not obvious to Santana, because she hasn't heard the words. But because Brittany's love language is different, she doesn't feel the need to 'say it' she's more 'show it'. Another good example is her reaction to Santana asking if they're dating. While Santana again seeks verbal proof, Brittany has assumed their actions meant they were dating all along, no questions asked.

Further proof to me that words are so important to Santana is that in 4x22, when saying goodbye to Brittany, she tells her not to say anything. In my head this is because Santana is so affected by words, that hearing Brittany say anything in such an emotional moment, would have made it too hard.

Words are so important to Santana, and what's also interesting is the way she is so anti words at the beginning. Whenever Brittany wants to talk, Santana shuts her down. This is shown in 2x04 'there's a lot of talking going on', and also referenced in 2x15 by Brittany various times, in that Santana never wants to talk. This again highlights how important words are to Santana. She didn't want to accept her love for Brittany at this point, so she couldn't communicate words because it's her love language. But the minute she did, boy did those words of affirmation spill out.

She also says in 4x04 that she liked to say things with music, when words just weren't enough, something that we saw her doing a lot (she sang a lot of love songs to Brittany). This is also highlights how important words were for her. She values them as the top aspects, and the only thing she can do better, when even that's not enough, is to sing.

Now onto the Quality Time, I think again this another one of Santana's love languages and something that's really important to her. The main example I have of this is when she breaks up with Brittany, due to struggling with the distance. In the cut scene, she talks about how hard it is to not be physically around Brittany, and that due to this she stopped calling and texting because it wasn't enough for her. It just made her miss Brittany more.

'Both couples are rarely getting what they need' is something she says, showing how important it is for her to have that time with Brittany. She doesn't say she wants it, she says she needs it.

It's very important for Santana to be physically in Brittany's presence. Before they break up, she deliberately does laundry at home so she has an excuse to come back and see her. After they break up, she comes back on a number of occasions to see Brittany again. She admits in 4x06 that she only agreed to play Rizzo in Grease to come back and see Brittany.

While it's obvious that the distance would have affected Brittany too (who wouldn't be upset going from seeing their girlfriend every day to hardly ever), and we get to see the impact this has on her as well, I think it affects Santana more so, because it's her love language. Hence why she's the one to call time on their relationship, while Brittany could probably power through.

When Brittana do get back together, Santana mentions Brittany moving to New York quite quickly, because it's important to her not to have distance between them. She raises this again in 6x03, showing it's obviously something that plays on her mind. It's evident they'd both want to live together, but it's always Santana who brings it up.

My final example of this, is 6x08, and the way that Santana can't stay away from Brittany even for a few hours.

'I'm really sorry that I can't go an hour without seeing you, because i'll just miss you too much"

It's all about the quality time and sweet words for one Santana Lopez. Now onto Brittany.

Brittany

In standard Brittana style, I think Brittany's love languages are the complete opposite to Santana's. I would say her main love languages are Acts Of Service and Gifts. I'll start off with Acts Of Service.

Brittany is helpful by nature, but she displays that sign most of all, with Santana. She shows she loves her by helping her and doing things for her. She'd do anything to lighten the load for her and make things less stressful. Here are just a few examples:

Getting Santana the scholarship to Louisville and trying to help her figure out what she wanted to do in 3x16

Going to Santana's Abuela to find out her opinions on love/marriage/family in line with wanting her to come to the wedding for Santana 6x06

Doing most of the wedding planning. We see it's Brittany who approaches Artie to plan the wedding and she does the invites in 6 x 06, and she's seen at the venue decorating it in 6 x 08

She offers to come out on Fondue For Two in 2x19, even though she doesn't really need to, it's purely to help Santana

She allows herself to be nominated for Prom King, in order for Santana to be able to be Prom Queen, because she knows it's important to Santana in 3x19

She leaves New Directions and joins The Troubletones to make Santana happy in 3x04

She also helps Santana come to terms with her sexuality, and while at the start pushing Santana to talk may have been for her own reasons as well, it's shown that she still encourages Santana to accept herself despite staying with Artie. She wants Santana to do it for herself, and not just to be with her. She gets her the Lebanese shirt, and she constantly brings it up, and calls her out for trying to hide back in the closet and use men to cover it up. Because she wants to help her accept herself.

"I do love you, clearly you don't love you as much as I do, or else you'd put this shirt on and you'd dance with me" is very telling of this love language, as it shows how important it is for Brittany to help Santana, in order to show she loves her. When she feels she's not helping, it upsets her.

Even down to the finer details of the wedding, where Brittany is trying to make everything perfect. She tries to stick to traditions of not seeing Santana, wearing Tina's underwear etc just to make sure their day is great and nothing goes wrong. While she does ban Santana from seeing her in her wedding dress, she doesn't ask her do the other traditions (the underwear etc). If it was about tradition, surely she would request Santana does it too. It is just an example of Brittany doing everything in her power to make everything perfect, whilst making sure Santana has to do very little.

I think this is definitely a very important love language for Brit, and now onto her other one. Gifts.

We see Brittany show her affection for Santana many times with gifts and grand gestures:

She makes her a playlist for valentines day in 3x13

She buys her lilies and tickets to Lesbos in 5x13

She makes her the giant heart out of mounds bars as an engagement present in 6x02

She gives her the Lebanese shirt in 2x18

She also puts a lot of thought into these gestures. With the playlist she creates the cover herself and makes it personal to them, she's researched that lilies are the lesbian of flowers, and mounds bars are the lesbians of candy, she chooses Lesbos thinking it's a lesbian island (note Brittany is bisexual so she's doing this solely thinking of Santana), she calculates the minutes they've spent together for the engagement present. She gets her the shirt, to help her come to terms with her identity, and show her that it's okay. They are all so well thought out and this is because gestures mean a lot to Brittany, and they are for her, an important way of showing Santana how much she loves her.

You can also see it means a lot to Brittany when Santana performs gestures like this for her. Santana purely does it for Brittany, since it isn't her own love language, and you can tell it means a lot to Brit.

When Santana gets the song for Valentines Day for Brit in 3x13, you can see how touched she is by it.

In 6 x 08, when they release the doves, Brittany turns to Santana and says 'You did that!?' with her hand on her heart.

Whenever Santana sings to her, she cries. Note how emotional she gets in Saturday Night Gleever. She is a sucker for a big gesture

So we have Santana all about the words and quality time together, and Brittany all about helping and doing things for Santana, and grand gestures. One area I think they both cross paths is the final love language, Physical Touch.

Both girls are very hands on, and it's clear they show and receive love by touching, hugging, kissing, holding hands etc. This is a love language they share, although i'd argue it's slightly more important to Santana. I think Santana initiates touch more, and when she is upset, she leans on Brittany for support and needs to physically touch her.

But both definitely exhibit this one!

There's obviously some cross overs. Everyone has features of all 5. Santana displays Acts Of Service when she helps Brittany with Kurt's campaign, with her own presidential campaign and when she helps her learn her lines for Rocky Horror. Brittany shows Words of Affirmation when she tells Santana she loves her more than anything in this world etc. It's a great representation of a healthy relationship as they are both changing their love language to suit the other, whilst not fully neglecting their own.

I think it's interesting how as with everything, they both have complete different love languages. You don't have to speak the same love language to have a happy and healthy relationship, you just need to be able to communicate and understand the differences, and know what makes your partner happy.

As Santana says in 6x08 'you love me, and i love you' so it's clear they both have no doubt in their love for one another, despite showing and receiving it in different ways :)

Rating the Maybe Interactive games I’ve played

Remarried Empress: not only allows you but encourages you to be a bitch. I play this game when I’m angry to blow off steam, my husband and his mistress are my punching bags 💕 8/10 the webtoon is better

Lord of Demons: pspspspspspspspsps MC~ massacre the priests 🎶 7/10 MC looks a little young and it throws me off but she’s a badass

Princess Irene: secondhand embarrassment central. RIP to MC but I would simply stage a coup instead of jumping through hoops like this. 5/10

Perfect Partner: 50 shades if anastasia and christian’s jobs were reversed. I diamond mined this without really reading tbqh. ??/10 but I wouldn’t hold my breath

Taste of Infidelity: would be a lovely story about leaving an emotionally abusive relationship if it weren’t for all the smut and the abuser being a LI. 4/10 I was ROOTING for u we were ALL rooting for u

Flower Lane: lesbians. *applause* short but sweet gay domesticity and it’s getting a sequel! 8/10 two points off bc they all look quite young for adults

A Good Day to Be a Dog: the webtoon fucks and the premise is interesting but I’ll never forgive the game for making my student a LI. Aside from that it reminds me of fruits basket. 7/10 good fluff content

Royal Blood: this game is everyone’s sweetheart but I dislike it. Some good plot twists and canon lesbianisms can’t make up for creepy flirty stepbrothers and the fact that I cannot partake in said lesbianisms. 4/10 the sequel is good

My Dear Goddess: I cannot for the life of me recall most of the plot even though I played this game two months ago. That’s not a good sign. 4/10 bc I like the art tho

A Household Affair: another smutty story about leaving an abusive relationship but this one has wonky art imo. You can’t date the abuser which is good but the bar is on the floor, so. I diamond mine this one as well. 5/10

Son or Husband: a so-called love triangle but every player has made up their mind by episode 3 at the latest. Fuck outta here stepson I’m tryna smash your dad. 6/10

Lady In Armor: god I wish that were me. Murder👏the👏royal👏family👏baby👏 it’s long but good and the MC slaps. 9/10 take my diamonds

Flirting Island: employers hate this one trick!! Hint: it’s seducing the CEO so they can’t fire you because you’re technically above them now. TWO hidden love interests so that’s neat. One of them is gay so that’s even neater. Love Island if it were inspired by Danielle Steele. 7/10 I can’t wait to ditch the canon love interest TWICE this time

Keeper of Mine: KOM my love / please take all of my money / best game on the app. That was a haiku. 9/10 one point removed for straight man fuckery in Marie’s ending

Royal Blood Season 2: so far it’s up there with KOM and LIA. In which my werewolf boyfriend beats up my creepy s1 stepbrothers 💕 I like the MC. She’s hot and has a backbone and I think there’s a second secret werewolf LI if I decide to be evil which is always a nice choice to have—being evil, I mean. It seems to take place in the 70s/80s which means the fashion is sickening in a good way. It seems big titty goth gf is not to be 😔 hopefully an outfit unlocks that will let ME be the big titty goth gf. 9/10

"Like most Sylvari, I emerged from the Pale Tree! When? 1325 AE!”

"Double daggers. I prefer to stick to the shadows.”

1. What’s your family like? What is your relationship with them?

"I don’t really have one. The Court used to be that, but I realized quickly enough they’re all terrible people. I dunno.”

“Yeah. After I was caught shaking hands with Sariel, Faolain’s... girlfriend? Former apprentice? I dunno, but after I was caught, I was put in jail, and then I escaped and went to the Court. Then I left them. Now I’m just... around.”
