One of the things that I find fascinating about omegaverse is how an omega's scent can calm their mate. Imagine 838 Alpha Stephen always keeping with him a handkerchief that used to belong to 838 Omega Mordo and the handkerchief is full of Mordo's scent. Every time Stephen's stressed out he just gets the handkerchief out and inhales deeply. Imagine him at an Illuminati meeting and he's looking at all those snakes around him and inhaling his mate's scent with narrowed eyes like I hate you lmao
Hehehe I can definitely see him doing this often enough that it becomes much like a warning. Like once you see him bringing out that handkerchief you know he’s in a snappy mood 😆 It’s a public secret lol The Supreme is upset and he needs his handkerchief. Actually it reminds me of those security blankets kids have.
The thought of him just casually pulling out that handkerchief when someone suggests something ridiculous at one of those meetings though 🤣 Wordlessly giving his disapproval. And the longer he keeps that cloth to his nose the more in edge everyone gets hehehe.
On a sweeter note, maybe he rotates handkerchiefs. Mordo just gives him a fresh one every now and then. Gotta keep up the supply to meet demand 😉

Doctor Strange: Nexus of Nightmares Review
This one will be different, though. Instead of focusing on what happens in the story, I’ll be focusing on the elements that make this story one of the best Doctor Strange stories I’ve ever read (and this is not an exaggeration). You see, it’s not really about the plot but the care and affection the team put into making it.
I’d like to start with my favorite topic: Stephen’s mental health. For those who read v4, it’s not surprising to see that the burden of the Sorcerer Supreme is not only heavy because it demands a lot from the wielder, but mostly because Stephen’s backstory is also full of insecurities and destructive behavior (1, 2 and 3). In Nexus of Nightmares, Stephen struggles with intrusive thoughts regarding his past and self-worth. He’s most definitely afraid of being arrogant (WHICH IS SOMETHING I KEEP SAYING WHENEVER HE’S PORTRAYED AS ARROGANT AND THIS IS WHY IT’S SO OUT OF CHARACTER FOR HIM NOWADAYS).
It’s true that Nightmare’s influence worsened Stephen’s mental state, and yet, it was said that these intrusive thoughts came before this plan. It was something that was already part of Stephen’s struggles.
In his dreams, his most dreadful fear is actually being rejected by The Ancient One, not having his good heart acknowledged and, most of all, having his mentor’s disbelief. The Ancient One was like a father figure to Stephen and the first person to recognize that, despite all his arrogance, he was deep down a good man. And denying all that truly makes Stephen desperate. Ngl, telling the truth and having no one to believe in your word is actually a terrible feeling. One of my favorite franchises was born this way, and I’ve also been there. It’s honestly suffocating so I really felt this scene.
Using Stephen’s poor mental health as an advantage, Mordo invades the Sanctum and steals the Darkhold in order to open a gate between Earth’s plane and the Realm of Dreams. He easily defeats both Stephen and Wong and proceeds with his plan.
And here comes another favorite aspect of this book that I deeply adored: Wong and Stephen’s relationship. Wong is Stephen’s emotional anchor. And this is SO on point that we can easily see how Stephen’s mental health gets worse the moment Wong leaves him in v4. This story was made to portray them and how much Stephen depends on Wong to even function. It’s just so... This is in fact a Wongrange love letter and I cannot stress this enough.
Wong is the one responsible for lifting Stephen. Although I wish Wong had a more important role in pretty much everything (I once imagined him as the Iron Fist and I don’t know peace ever since a), if not for him, Stephen would never be able to save humanity. Not only in this specific story, but pretty much throughout the entirety of v4.
Lastly, the characterization of every single character? ON POINT. SO ON POINT. The classic rhetorics, the old school spells, it’s really how it feels to read Strange Tales and Doctor Strange v1 and v2. This story is a tribute to Doctor Strange. It’s amazing and easily made its way to my top 5. I will definitely recommend it to new readers as much as recommend v4 and other one-shots.
As for the chronology, there’s just a single reference to Secret Wars, which means this story comes after 2015. But it’s not supposed to take place in a specific point in time, assuming the Darkhold was not in the Sanctum according to Darkhold Alpha/Omega (it was absorbed by Wanda by the end of this plot).
But honestly, it doesn’t matter at all. It’s an amazing story, no previous reading required. Just go for it. Ralph Macchio managed to write one of the best Doctor Strange stories ever, he was able to portray why Stephen is so important to me and why I love him so much. THIS is the character I adore to a fault. Ibrahim Moustafa’s art is magnificent. And Neeraj Menon’s colors only make it even more amazing. I feel so grateful and full of joy for having such a brilliant team to bring this story. I need more of this team asap!
I think we deserve good DS books after all the trouble of enduring Waid and Young, after all.

I had never seen or read a Doctor Strange fic until this one (and it’s oneshot). I was happily surprised. I only really found it because I’m on a historical AU hunt. It ended up being sweet and full of feels with some A/B/O verse building and the Zealots causing trouble as per usual. I ended up liking this one quite a bit and think you might too.

(1/2) I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I really enjoyed your take on Omegaverse. I hate Omegaverse. I won’t pretend otherwise. However, your nuanced take on the typical tropes was fascinating. And the reveal that there was no magic in that world, at least not as Stephen knows it, genuinely surprised me. It made me wonder what every other sorcerer is doing in this world without magic… Wong is president of the rest of the world, probably.
(2/2) “Jokes” aside (president Wong is no joke), at first I pictured the Ancient One, Omega Mordo, and Alpha Wong in what would be a standard family unit for that universe. But then I thought… hey, that’d make sense for them with their main universe personality, but what if they’re totally different people in that universe? Unhippie Ancient One, Wong with a terrible sense of humor, Mordo as a rich airheaded eurotrash ho… Oh and for your original story the post-war AU sounds great!

I like your idea! I think it totally makes sense—I sort of pictured their personalities staying the same across dimensions, hence, Stephen’s issues with separating himself from his double, etc. I really, really wanted to put an alternate Wong in there. But I actually hate the convention of everyone the MC knows showing up in an alternate universe, so it's like canon characters all the way down. Not for me. But, I pictured them the same way: alpha Wong, omega Mordo, mama Ancient One ❤️ all happy together somewhere.

Second chances (Ironstrange omegaverse headcanons)
1.Tony was a beautiful, sweet, little omega, in his youth there came in many marriage proposals for him, but he only wanted to marry Steve. They met in a park once, and against the approval of his parents, Tony married Steve at a young age 24. Little did he know Steve was not the man he thought he was.
2.Things started getting worse and worse as days passed... Steve was a stereotypical alpha with too high an ego and too many expectations, Tony tried.. He really did, but complains remained, the food was never good enough, the clothes were never clean enough, he was not being attentive.. And with each disappointment of a day came slaps and harsh sounds of belt hitting skin, and immense amount of verbal abuse. Abuse increased day and night, but Tony didn't want to go back to his parents.... Because he knew they would say "why did you marry him in the first place, when we forbide you?". Then came the day Tony broke the news of his pregnancy to Steve, that made him happy... He even was little more considerate with Tony after that, but good things don't last that long with Tony. Tony was cleaning the dishes, when Steve slammed open the door, drunk and angry.... Tony suffered grievous injuries that day, and he also lost his child at his 5th month of gestation. After these events Steve divorced him claiming he was feeble and suffered from some disease which is why they lost the baby... And that fact was hidden from him during the wedding or else he would not have married this Omega.
3. Tony's suffering didn't end there, his Father did even more emotional damage to him, saying who would marry him now .. He was a disgrace to the family. Tony would lay on his bed, crying as days turned into nights ... And Dawn turned to dusk... He would cry for his lost child. 3years laters a letter arrived from the matrimonial agency claiming that they found Tony a suitor, and the person didn't care if he was divorced.
4. His mother called him for his opinion, trying to hand him over the suitors picture, too which his Father only retorted saying let him not make the decision, that's better... We all know what happened last time. Tony lowered his gaze, didn't even glace at the photo, he just said"Whatever you find appropriate father", tears moistened his eyes, he went back to his room and let them fall.
5. He wore a veil which was quite thick and he couldn't really see much through it while standing next to his fiancee, as the priest started officiating the wedding. Tony felt nothing but anxiety, he spent 3years in abuse with the Alpha he loved.... If that was the treatment, how would this marriage go? It had no attachment to begin with, he didn't even know how this person called Dr.Stephen Strange looked like... The name Stephen itself have him shivers. His thoughts were cut off my a baritone voice whispering to him, "Are you scared?" , "A little" "it's ok to be scared, it's our wedding.... In all reality, marriage itself is a scary concept". The comment made Tony giggle a little.
6. The time came when the priest finally said, now you may kiss your mate. Stephen slowly lifted the veil, Tony kept his eyes closed till the veil was lifted off completely, and then only opened his eyes, to see his husband..... At that very moment his heart skipped a beat and then it ran like a race horse, cheeks got dusted with pink aura as ocean blue-green eyes gazed at him with a soft smile on his husband's cupid lips, grey streaks of hair proudly stood out at the temples giving him a beautifully sophisticated look. Stephen slowly lowered his mouth, he was quite tall for Tony... Tony could feel arms wrap around his waist, he himself pressed his hands on his husband's chest as he softly started to close his eyes awaiting the kiss, he could feel a brush of nose and then warm lips around his own. It was a blissful feeling.
7. Even at the night of the wedding as they consummated their marriage, and Stephen marked Tony, he didn't feel any pain... As Stephen bit down over Steve's ugly big mark, there was hardly any pain, Tony felt more intoxicating. Along the night came soft kisses, sweet words, soft touches and gentle, very gentle love making.
8. Stephen was a caring alpha, Tony noticed that.. He wasn't very good at expressing things with words, so he was more likely to use gestures... Also Tony tried extra hard this time, but he slowly realized that Stephen didn't have the same demands as Steve did. He didn't want Tony to feel dominated either, always taking in consideration of his opinions, bringing back Tony's favorite flowers when coming home, surprising Tony with movie tickets and all that soft love-making and cuddles... Also he would receive a kiss before Stephen left for the hospital, and another after he came back.
9. Tony couldn't help but feel joy when Stephen asked if he would like to take a job, he was so supportive of it... And Tony joined defense development research dept, making droids for the intelligence agencies. Stephen was proud and Tony was just happy that he was being cuddled. Stephen's expression was hilarious when Tony told him he was pregnant, he stared at him for like a 100years, then suddenly Tony's happy squeals were heard around the house as Stephen picked him up, spinning them in circles, Tony received at least a 1000 thousand kisses on his face that day.
10. Stephen should have known better, he should not have brought Karl Mordo in his house, that man was extremely sexist, he berated Tony for dropping the tea cup, and when Stephen didn't say anything to Tony, he started saying how he couldn't control his Omega, how a tight slap in his cheek would refrain from further mistakes, Tony dashed out of the room, he was shaking as he slowly collapsed on the kitchen floor, he could hear Stephen's angry voice and a heated conservation, he didn't understand it at all .. His mind was to blank out of fear, he covered his baby bump with his arms,tears were running down his cheeks .... "Tony" he heard Stephen's voice, it sounded angry ...'No... No.. This couldn't happen again. Not again.. God no please .. Have mercy'.... Tony started crying "No alpha no ..please no", crouching into a fetal position on the floor..."please... It won't happen again... Please mercy alpha.. I'll lose my baby again... My baby will die.. please no.."
11. Stephen stared horrified at his beloved omega, is that what Tony thought of him? Suddenly a bad feeling originated in his gut... He didn't waste anymore time, he picked up his crying omega, went straight to the bedroom, where he sat down with Tony across his lap ... soothing him, telling him... He was safe with him and he would never hurt him or their child, rubbing his hands softly on Tony's baby bump. Tony finally stopped cried, only small sobs and whimpers came in a few minutes. "Shhhh my love, ignore Mordo, he's a jerk.... Listen to me..I love you and our baby, I wouldn't hurt you" "S-S-sorry Alpha" "sshh, Tony, will you tell me something if I ask you?" Tony nodded face buried in his neck. "When your parents mentioned your miscarriage in the previous marriage, it wasn't really because of any hormonal disproportion or natural cause, was it?" Tony froze for a while... Then he wailed into Stephen's neck... Crying, clutching at him, holding onto him as if Stephen would disappear..." I...I.. Steve... He....ahhhhhhhAaaaaa" "Shhhh... It's ok ok .. You don't have to say .. You don't need to use your words" Stephen soothed him as he fell asleep crying.
12. Tony woke up to soft whispers and a careful rubbing on his bump as the baby kicked... He opened to his eyes to see Stephen leaned towards his bumps, talking to the baby..." Who's Daddy's Little sweetheart? You're .yes.. You are... Now now let's not kick too hard, or else you'll wake up your papa, he needs rest doesn't he now sweetheart" Tony felt warmth spread around his chest as he saw all this happen. Stephen seemed to sense his movement, he now moved towards Tony, kissing him on the cheek... Tony gazed at him.. And his mouth automatically spoke "I love you".. Stephen smiled widely at that, and kissed his forehead..." Time will tell you my love, how much I love you"

I keep thinking about what if 616 Wong had travelled alongside Stephen and America. It's Uncle Wong Time on omegaverse Earth 838! Maybe even sweeter if the strordo kids don't have a Wong and they want 616 Wong to stay. Five or six kids (838 strordo got busy 🤭) jumping around Wong and loudly fighting over who gets to spend time with Uncle Wong. The kids would likely enjoy Stephen's company too, even if he doesn't quite act like him, he still looks so much like their dad 🥲
I absolutely adore this scenario sweet Nonny! 😍🥹 It’s such a wholesome image in a rather dark story. The kids all just gravitate towards Wong. Since they don’t have a Wong in their verse, maybe Wong showing up feels like the missing piece finally coming into play. Just Wong suddenly having a little fan club is super cute 🥰 Hehehehe 😁
Though I do think he and Stephen would be very cautious. Like things here are a little too good. The world feels so utopian yet everyone’s wearing mourning clothes except for this Mordo variant that’s giving Stephen bedroom eyes 😏 And these kids clearly adore Wong but look like they’re about to cry tears of joy when Stephen’s around. Like this place feels too good to exist 🤣 It’s gotta be a trap!
The idea of the strordo kids feeling some type of way about Stephen is 😭😭😭😭 Like the man looks so much like their Papa, but he doesn’t talk like him or have his scent, but it’s the closest they’re gonna get so they’ll take it. Just…..Stephen looking confused and scared when a sweet toddler climbs on him, tucks herself into his arms, and falls asleep 🥹 Give it to me Marvel *grabby hands*

Review - Secret Empire, August Part II
IT’S FINALLY OVER!!!!!
Brave New World 5: The last of this series brings us two new side stories and the finale of the Invaders storyline. The first story is the infamous Blade as a substitute teacher story. It’s not as bad as many feared from the preview images, but it isn’t anything special either. It was a twist you can see coming and mediocre art. Sadly it is watered down from the expected super violent Blade comics of the past. With a whole city trapped in eternal night you’d think there was a better way to tell a Blade story. The second story is a really terrible Domino story wherein she tries to assassinate Emma Frost. It is filled with terrible internal monologue, which one would expect to be better considering it is written by a woman. The art is fine and it is short enough to not be fully offensive, but Dom deserves a better story in this event. The Invaders story comes to an anti-climactic resolution that mostly serves to show why Namor changed his mind about joining the war against Hydra. The art is mostly good, but the face close ups look weird. Overall, this mini-series is a waste of time. Very few of the stories are that good and the serialized story can be skipped because the main series gives a more concise reason for Namor to choose to fight Hydra. If you need to read the most important stories this might be worth your time, but otherwise just skip this and read something better.
USAvengers #9: The battle against Hydra continues as Toni and Roberto battle their way through a Hydra prison. Meanwhile, Enigma leads a team against the French branch of Hydra with some great action. The story ends with both teams kicking some butt and a hint about Cannonball’s current location. The writing is superb and the art is great too. This is story that could work even without the main event. More importantly it will have some consequences for the upcoming issues which is nice as many of these stories don’t really seem to have much to alter the story of the series. This is one of the best current Marvel comics and should be read from the beginning and continued after this event ends.
X-Men Blue 9: It is obvious that this series is flawed, but it was enjoyable in a low plot high action summer blockbuster sort of way. This issue concludes the New Tian rebellion with the young X-Men battling Emma Frost and her goons with explosive results. The very end adds a coda to Captain America and Magneto as well as setting the stage for the next arc which looks very intriguing. The art is weird. I like the character designs, but no one really looks like how they should look with a few exceptions. The background is almost always either a gradient or filled with random lines/circles/etc. It comes down to being a bit of a mess, but a pretty mess. The art feels like it would fit a more bizarre setting like something from Doctor Strange or The Inhumans. Despite the flaws, this was an enjoyable arc and made me curious about the series as a whole. If you are trying to read the good parts of this event then check out the X-Men Blue issues as they are a fun, but flawed, ride.
Secret Empire #9: Again, a breath of relief comes with seeing the art team behind the book. Granted with some many artists there are bound to be issues. However, most of them can be over looked as the majority of this book looks far better than the average issue of this event. There are some dull backgrounds and a few images are cluttered, but overall it is an above average aesthetic outing. The story on the other hand is slim at best. We learn more about Kobik’s world as older Steve tries to figure out a way back to reality. Meanwhile, the mass of just about every super hero is battling their way toward Washington and Steve Rogers. We get a couple heels turn face and few good moments, but overall it’s just a big fight with some moments with Steve planning a counter attack. Everything wraps up with Steve coming out to fight the army of heroes. This wasn’t as bad as most of the event, but that’s because there was mostly action. While it is good that this event is ending, things haven’t stopped being really stupid. One big action comic doesn’t make up for a terrible series of issues leading up to it. Avoid this event, but skim this issue if you are curious about the fight.
Doctor Strange 24: This is probably the best issue of this tie-in arc. It’s mostly action with a few minor twists and some okay one-liners. The story follows Strange and his team as they battle Baron Mordo to take back the city. Things go about as you would expect and the story ends on a light note. The writing isn’t very good as it is still stuck in action cliche land, but for an action heavy issue it works well enough. The art can get a little messy, but when working with magic that tends to be the usual visual motif. Beyond that, the art is fine and everything is drawn to fit the epic scale of the battle. While this series as a whole isn’t very good, this was a fun issue and the arc fills in a little be about life in the Darkforce dome. If you want to know more about that side of this event then this is the second best choice after the Uncanny Avengers tie-in arc.
Mighty Captain Marvel #8: The arc ends with quite a bit of story that crosses over with other things we’ve seen before. Such as the destruction of the station and the fall of the shield. There is quite a bit of interpersonal drama and this story wraps up a couple loose ends. The writing is fine, but it isn’t anything too impressive. The art is great and the framing helps build the tension. Overall, this was a good arc that works even outside of the event. However, now that the event is over this is a good time to jump into this series.
Deadpool 35: The final part of the tie-in story has a few twists and a couple spoilers for the end of Secret Empire. Deadpool faces off with Maria Hill and deals with Blackout to help save Manhattan. The ending is very somber and the next issue will involves the aftermath of this story. The writing is mixed, but the emotional part at the end is really well done. This is not your average Deadpool lighthearted romp, it is a tale of one man losing his sense of humor as he loses everything else. The art is fantastic and really makes this a joy to read. This was perhaps the best of the tie-in arcs as it took the character in a different direction and will have consequences that he will have to deal with in future issues. If only more of the tie-in books were heavy emotional character driven stories like this run of Deadpool this could have been a far more impactful event.
Secret Empire 10: Thank God it’s finally over. The story plays out just like one would expect. Captain Hydra is an unstoppable force, but the heroes pull off a miracle victory that was foreshadowed issues ago. This issue does feature many Spencer tropes such as a speech from Cap, lots of internal monologue telling the story, and call backs to things you probably forgot about and don’t really matter. While this doesn’t ‘feel’ like a Spencer ending, it does feel like a Marvel Event ending. The writing isn’t terrible and it almost feels like it was ghost written (or heavily edited) by someone else. The art is great because Sorrentino wasn’t involved. The battles look good and the emotion on character’s faces fit the scenes. This issues is better than most issues, but the only reason I really liked it is because it was the last issue. This was a terrible event and will likely go down as one of the worst in Marvel history. While there is still issue ‘omega’ and a few aftermath books it is clear that the status quo hasn’t changed all that much since before this event. There have been some major changes like the death of Black Widow, destruction of the Alpha Flight station, and Kobik’s rebirth, but most characters can just go back to their regular lives after this all ends. It has taken half a year of my life and comic reading focus to get through this mess and while I’m glad I battled through all this, I think I’d have been happier if I had quit at issue two like I wanted to do. Hopefully Marvel can learn from their mistakes and try to correct the ship before we get another iceberg event. Don’t read this, not even out of curiosity, it is not worth it and you will not be better for the experience.
