Clea Strange

The huge wave of AI generated aberrations that are invading the Clea/Strange tag made me do the impossible and actually pushed me to finish this big illustration that was 90% done in 2022 and just needed some final adjustments to be finished 💜✨

I previously published only the movie version but this was how the illustration was meant to be, featuring a whole range of looks Clea had through the years! Clockwise around MCU Clea: the first, "Steve Ditko" version, the straight-haired Clea from the 70s, the super curly 80s version, the most recent post-DoDS "witchy" look, and the beautiful look from the 2016 Annual look.

This was a massive effort and after two years there are things I would redraw from scratch, but I still hope you'll like it 💕

I personally think his first love language is always flattery. It's honestly my favorite because he's a wizard, and as such, he has a manner with words.

Only later that his love language translates to physical touch, usually soft kisses, holding hands, touching his SO's face etc, until it becomes more and more intimate.

Now, from a headcanon perspective, I think he also loves babbling endlessly about magic (Gale-coded), and this is when he feels the most comfortable around the ones he loves, because then he ignores the fear of being annoying or patronizing. He usually pauses or is interrupted when explaining magic in canon, so I have the feeling he'd develop such a fear because no one really wants to hear him talk.

I also have the feeling that he'd use magic to write romantic letters, like a true good old-fashioned lover boy™.

Last but not least, it's canon that he plays the piano occasionally. So yep, when he sits and starts playing, you're truly seeing him in a very vulnerable and true state of expressing his feelings and love.

Stephen is really romantic and clingy when he feels safe and loved 🥺

I love the fact that every host so far had trouble dealing with Venom, meanwhile Stephen easily unbounded and contained the symbiote as soon as it broke their deal.

I love that he's needed to save the world.

hello, I hope you’re doing well! I was wondering if you can clarify something for me that I’m just a *tad* confused by.

I know Stephen and Clea separated on good terms a while ago because they had responsibilities to attend to (but obviously they still love each other). but did they ever get officially divorced?

Answering your question... No, they never got an official divorce. Even in the cursed Fearless Defenders, when Clea requests one, they never touch the subject again.

They give "divorced" vibes in Cates' and Waid's respective runs, but truth be told, they are not your typical married couple since they are from different dimensions and their cerimony was more like a spell that binds their souls.

So, in short, no divorce. Their souls remained bound and they never had a chance to talk about it except for this issue (Doctor Strange v4 Annual #1).

This is so true that, in Jed's run, they treat each other as spouses as soon as they reunite, as if their status as a separated couple was never officialized. Or at least this is how the chronology for this specific issue works haha.

I hope I was able to answer your question. It's confusing but if you read all their interactions after Sorcerer Supreme, this is the best you'll get when it comes to canon.
