Befriending The Volleyball Team

(Haikyuu) Karasuno x Male Reader

After your first meeting with tge Karasuno volleyball team, you started making friends left and right.

This is a part 2 to “Her Little Brother?” just a funky little thing about the volleyball team !

The volleyball team took to you really quickly.

Tanaka and Nishinoya were first.

They were happy to dote on any Shimizu it seemed but instead of becoming enamored with you like they were your sister, they treated you more like a little brother than a beacon of their affection.

Tanaka would make sure to check on you every time he saw you, taking an interest in your club activities or your studies. He even started trying to talk to you about your interests and anything else he could think to talk to you about.

Nishinoya had a similar, yet very different approach. He started by bringing you snacks. You were pretty sure it was just an excuse to talk to you but very quickly he got a feel for your favorite treats and drinks that he could get from the vending machines. He talked about volleyball and your sister and anything else he could think of, it seemed like he was just happy to have a new companion to talk to.

Second was the third years.

You were already familiar with all of them but you all grew much closer quickly.

Daichi and Sugawara tried to give you advice. On almost anything they could think of. If you were struggling with school work they were right around the corner to give you some tips. They saw you hanging around someone a little longer than normal? They were there to give you relationship advice. It was kinda annoying but they certainly meant well.

Asahi had a different approach. He was afraid that you’d be scared of him so he stayed away for a while. But after he heard about the other third years hanging out with you more, he wanted to try and bond with you too. Asahi knew he wasnt the right person to give advice on things, but he was a listening ear and he definitely understood when you complained about the rest of the team crowding you.

Then it was Hinata and Kageyama.

They were in the same year as you so they had the most opportunities to hang out with you during school time. Hinata initiated it and Kageyama got dragged along. Hinata heard about you from the third and second years that had been befriending you and he liked what he heard. Even though you didn't like volleyball he thought all your interests were cool and you both became fast friends. And Kageyama thought you were pretty cool too, even if he didn't say it.

Then it was the rest of the second years.

You started showing up to practice and their games after befriending half the team. Hanging around the gym and being their loudest cheerleader made the whole team take notice even if you hadn’t befriended them yet. Enoshita would strike up a conversation every now and then. He was thankful that you were level headed and even apologized for Tanaka and Nishinoya when they became a bit much.

Narita and Kinoshita weren't the most talkative, but they were always happy when you would strike up a conversation with them and they always appreciated how you would congratulate them after games even when they didn't play in them.

Finally there was Tsukishima and Yamaguchi.

At first you thought they didn't want to be friends with you. I mean sure they were polite enough to you, but they always seemed to stay far away from you and after the warm welcome from the rest of the team you thought it was best not to push it. But then, Hinata brought up Yamaguchi wanting to talk to you and you realized that they may just not be the talkative type. So you walked up to them after you had sat in on practice and asked if they wanted to walk home with you. It was all over from there. Tsukishima was a bit hard to befriend, but you came to realize that's just the type of person he is. As for Yamaguchi, he warmed up to you immediately.

You felt very thankful your sister was the volleyball team's manager, otherwise you never would have had the opportunity to befriend so many unique people.

Kageyama might be “king of the court” but YN is “Queen of Karasuno” 👸

Honestly these boys absolutely worship you

Literally, they act as if they don’t have three managers

They literally will lay down in a puddle of mud while you step on them

Will do the above 👆 for any of their three managers

But you, you my love are super special to our boys

Why you ask?

Well it’s because you provide them with nutrients to survive 😌

That’s right, your love of baking and the fine art of culinary creations only helps you out with our beloved crows

You’ve learned to cater to all their needs

Filling recipes with top tier ingredients for success

Things like fruits, nuts, and even sneaking some veggies in there

Like zucchini bread or carrot cake

Listen, even if it’s in a desert, it still counts as a fruit or veggie

I don’t want to hear “tHe SuGaR cAnCeLs It OuT”

Because like these boys need the sugar to run and jump all over the place ok 🤚🏻

You bake almost daily as a form of stress release and therapy

Please you need it with the team you manage 🙄

And you always bring in the treats for the boys!

And they ALWAYS eat them up

“These are fantastic Yn what are they called?” Hinata asks

“They are Fudgy Pumpkin Brownie bites! It’s a new recipe!” You exclaim as Kageyama and Noya go in for thirds

“You fit a whole pumpkin in here Yn?!?” Hinata : D

“I think she means that there is pumpkin in the recipe not one per bite,” Ennoshita explains

I never claimed they were smart Yn

Anyways, you are always there to help our precious boys fill their bellies

You are in charge of snacks for games and practice, often finding joy in everything you do

So when the prelims for the road to spring nationals start, you are busy whipping up some goodies

You bake the entire weekend before, preparing for every possible scenario

Protein muffins for in between matches

Chocolate chip cookies for after they win matches

You even prepare some of your famous Strawberry shortcake cookies just incase the boys happen to lose

Not that we think they will, don’t get me wrong but it’s always nice to be prepared

Anyways, the prelims start and Karasuno dominates

Like, did we really thinking they wouldn’t 💅

Anyways, tensions run high as the boys go into their match with Seijoh

You remember the first time they fought against Seijoh and how the loss crushed them

But fueled up on your high-protein muffins, these boys are ready to kick butt!

And kick butt they do!

They beat Seijoh and prepare to meet Shiratorizawa in the finals

After the game, you notice how upset Seijoh is after their loss

You knew this was the third years last tournament and seeing them cry hurt

You thought about if it was your boys

And with that, there was only one thing left to do

So you pulled out a piece of paper and wrote a little note and stuck it in the box of cookies

As your team was preparing to leave, you grabbed your box of Strawberry Shortcake cookies and ran over to Seijoh

Karasuno rn 👉🏻👀

“Excuse me?” You said as the entire Seijoh team turned around and looked at you

“You guys played an excellent game and you deserve these,” you said handing Seijoh your expertly wrapped cookies

Oikawa accepted, saying nothing

Please you left him speechless

Too bad Kunimi’s too sad to even record this moment 😭

You smile and wave as you run back to your team

Meanwhile, back the gym the Seijoh boys are extremely sad

“Hey what did that manager from Karasuno give you Oikawa?” Kindaichi asked as Oikawa reached for the box

He reached for it, opening it as the note slipped out

Iwa picked the note up and began reading it

It read “Thank you for playing your hardest! You deserve these. Xoxo YN, Karasuno’s Manager”

“It’s cookies,” Oikawa said as he began to pass them around and Iwa showed Oiks the note

Oikawa rn 👉🏻😐🥺😭

Please the entire Seijoh team is eating your cookies and crying Yn 😩

The next few days go by

You are in the gym taking notes when a teacher comes to get you

“Excuse me?”

“Yes,” Takeda asks

“Umm there is a team of boys at the front gate here to see Yn,” the teacher says

Karasuno 👉🏻 a team…. OF BOYS 😐😑

Tanaka and Noya 👉🏻 FOR YN?!?? 😡🤬

“Oh my ok!” You say, getting up and walking towards the gates of Karasuno

Tanaka, Noya, Kags and Hinata are ready to go

It takes the entire rest of the team to hold them back 🙄

“WHAT IF THEY KIDNAP YN??” Noya shouts

“They literally showed up at the front of school in broad daylight, like that’s gonna happen,” Suga say, rolling his eyes

“Someone has never watched dateline before,” Tanaka adds

Of course, you ignore them and head for the gates

As you approach, you see the white track suits

You 👉🏻😐😳

“Umm hi,” you say as the boys of Seijoh all look at you

“Team!” Oikawa shouts and they all scream

“THANK YOU FOR THE COOKIES YN!” while bowing

You rn 👉🏻😐😳🥹

“You are so welcome! Thank you for coming!” You say smiling and going to hug them

You hug Iwa first and boy is he stiff 😅

It’s safe to say the entire Seijoh team is now in love with you Yn 🥰

Bonus

“Omg is Oikawa crying?” Kageyama says, shoving Hinata out of the way as they watch around the corner.

“Hey watch it butthole!” Hinata shouts as he pushed Kageyama out of the way.

“I’d cry too if YN hugged me,” Noya added as Tanaka nodded.

“You guys are about to have something to cry about if you don’t get your butts back to the gym RIGHT NOW!” Daichi shouted, looming over them as the boys all turned and ran back to the gym.

Daichi & Kiyoko would find it fascinating and would constantly be asking questions , they would defnitely do research on T's and buy you another for your anniversary

Sugawara, Kinoshita, & Ennoshita hate it but admire how you view spiders despite their reputation , somehow watching you look at such hated creatures with so much love restores his faith in the world

Asahi & Hinata refuse to enter your room and freaks out when you send him pictures, they absolutely have nightmares of it getting out and just mentioning it makes the hairs on their neck stand up

Nishinoya & Tanaka act like they aren't scared but are internally screaming so when you asked if he wanted to hold it he made up excuses as to why he couldn't

Narita & Tsukishima Do research on the type of T you have, held it once while trying not to freak out , while he isn't afraid of it he's not the biggest fan

Kageyama & Yachi Are more scared of the beetles and other bugs you feed it then the spider itself, they admire it from a distance and seeing you looks so happy because of the T it changed their mindset on spiders

Ukai & Yamaguchi Hold it every chance they get, they love watching it move around the enclosure and enjoy feeding it and watching it eat, depending on the type of T you have they may feel inspired to get one themselves

Day 18 ~ Road Trip

The team during a road trip to the beach and their roles while on this road trip.

Daichi

The one driving

Because coach and Takeda are tired after the year they just had and they deserve sleep

No other answers are accepted, except for Sugawara, because they want to arrive to the beach safely

Yeah coach Ukai and Takeda are there but the boys wanted to treat them for everything they have done for them

Reader

The one that brought snacks and drinks

Tissues for Tanaka because he usually cries during some movies

A first-aid kit because they are rowdy boys, they get into a lot of accidents

And movies to play on the car screen for said rowdy boys

Tanaka

The one that screams punch buggy the whole time when he sees a Beetle

He punches someone “gently” because man doesn’t know his strength

He is the one that cries at the movie playing

He loves to play dumb car games along with Asahi

Nishinoya

Man loves to snack

“I want one.” He points at the chips in Hinata’s hand

“Give me that.” He takes the box of cookies from Asahi

“Let me just take that.” He takes the bag of chips from Hinata because he is less likely to bite him

Likes to play car games like the old man that he is along with Tanaka

Let’s Nishinoya eat his cookies because he brought extra just for that reason

He just likes to bitch about everything and everyone

If he doesn’t like the food you packed you will not hear the end of it

“Can you guys shut up I am trying to focus on my music.”

Has his headphones on for most of the ride after he is done bitching

Hinata

The one that sits in the very back, quietly for once while looking out of the window not bothering a soul

Because Kageyama is out cold for most of the drive he can be a bit calm

Just waiting to get to the beach to play volleyball because boy is obsessed

Kageyama

The sleeper

He loves his sleep and he knows once they get to the beach he is not going to sit still for a minute

The eater

But going back to sleep after filling his stomach

Yamaguchi

The one who reminds the driver to pull over so that everyone can go to the bathroom

Also remind the driver the boys needs to stretch their legs

And telling interesting facts about what he knows

Then he goes on and on about what he knows but they love him so they pretend to listen to all his facts

Loves to give his 2 cents when Daichi and Sugawara are talking about certain things he knows a lot about

Ennoshita

The one that has the perfect music taste

He plays music every time they are on a trip

Will accommodate everyone’s need when it isn’t crap songs

Kinoshita

Like Hinata he sits in the very back

Reading the newest spy drama series he is interested in

Not talking unless he is spoken to

Narita

Also sits at the very back

He likes to play video games on his switch only bothering you when he is hungry for something

Like Kinoshita he is quiet unless spoken to

Takeda

The one who reminds everyone to put on sunscreen once they get to the beach

Also the one who reminds everyone to drink enough fluids as it is very hot as to not pass out from dehydration

Coach Ukai

He is the one that doesn’t listen to Takeda and catches a nasty sunburn

He fell asleep after getting to the beach because he didn’t sleep to well the night before

Thanks to Takeda keeping him awake stressing about their safety on a phone call

Yachi

Buys everyone an ice cream of their choice

Reads quietly while watching the boys play beach volleyball

Will participate when they ask her to help the with extra players

Like Takeda reminds the boys to drink water

Kiyoko

Keeps the rowdy boys in check when they start to get to loud in the bus and on the beach as well

Plays volleyball along with the boys without being asked

She is not afraid to dive for the ball and everyone is impressed with her

Including you, her twin brother, who could not be prouder that you taught her how to play in your first year as high schoolers

Karasuno

As an incredibly intelligent person, you're put into the highest level class Karasuno can offer and you're only a first year

But the thing is Karasuno is so p r o t e c t i v e of you as their manager

Why? Oh, maybe because you're a prodigy for absolutely everything

You're so chill and approachable and an incredible manager but when they find out how intelligent you are, they're just like o_o

Daichi has asked you on several occasions if there's something you especially like or just come up to you to make sure you're okay because it can't be easy being that smart

He likes hearing you ramble, maybe he won't understand some of the more complex words you use but he's definitely hear to listen to you talk

Sugawara has asked you to teach him a language or self-defense; the latter always goes wrong though

He's trained for volleyball, not self-defense; it's worth it to him though, because your smile and patience with him is more of a reward than anything

Asahi loves to listen to you play piano, he will sometimes ask for you to play something if you're free because he's anxious about something and it always helps him calm down

It's like you put a spell over him and in return, he checks up on you to make sure you're okay and will sometimes put a snack in your bag to make sure you're healthy

Kiyoko is also someone who checks up on you daily, as your brain must be working nonstop but she doesn't want you to stress anymore than you already do

She likes how reliable and easy going you are with the team; she'll ask you for help in something and will always be astonished as to how simple you make it seem and how fast you solved it

The second years, oh boy, Ennoshita needs to calm Nishinoya and Tanaka down and it doesn't help that Kinoshita is making some sly remarks about them both while at the same time complimenting you

Narita is much calmer, making Ennoshita so grateful

Nishinoya and Tanaka hear you sing once and you've become a GODDESS to them, you're right up there with Kiyoko

Ennoshita likes hearing you play the piano as well and will ask you to teach him the basics; he also likes to study with you, especially since you explain stuff to him with a calming voice

Kinoshita has come up to you for help for math many times and it never stops shocking him how you look at the problem and answer right off the top of your head while doing something else

Narita, this sweetheart, makes sure that you're in tip top shape and will only ask you for help in things if you're not busy and you're up for it

All of the second years want to learn a new language because of you

Now the first years, oh boy

Yachi is in AWE of you

You're someone whose talents reach far and wide and you've made your mark everywhere and still you act like the humblest human being on the planet

One time she asked you about a hard English question and you translated it perfectly before writing something down and she just stood there like: "H o w?"

Hinata and Kageyama think you're an angel fallen from above; with your help, their grades have gone up to 65%, which makes them go ballistic

Hinata adores hearing you talk in another language and will ask you to teach him self-defense, only to fail but it's okay, he's got the spirit

Kageyama doesn't openly show it, but he's mesmerized by you being able to fix something in a few seconds; one time the vending machine didn't work and you just banged your fist on it and it worked again; another time you fixed his broken pen in five seconds flat when it had taken him a whole week

Yamaguchi LOVES hearing you talk about anything and everything, he loves seeing your face light up when he asks about a topic you likes and how you move your hands around; he learns new things and he sees your smile

Tsukishima does not like asking for help from anyone, but you're the only exception, even though he was reluctant at first; he has had you help him in difficult situations and one time, when he felt you were stressed, shared an earbud with you; he's heard you play violin and can't see you the same way again

All of them make sure you're okay and they're always fascinated as to how you're this intelligent

The whole team is proud to have you as their manager and does not fail to grasp the chance to show you off

karasuno x trans!reader

warnings: accidental and intended misgendering, transphobic comments like twice and probably a curse or two

summary: after outing yourself as a trans man you were forced to live with your uncle Ittetsu Takeda and transfer schools

a/n: heya i’ve been binge watching haikyuu this past month or less (currently through half of season 4) and i just really really wanted to read some content where the reader is transgender!! i’m agender (they/them or he because we don’t have neutral pronouns where i live)

Training started just like always, after a quick warm up everyone got back to improving on their skills. The team worked like clockwork as they practised as a group – of course not leaving out a little banter here and there. Coach Ukai was currently talking outside with Takeda which was nothing too out of the ordinary. The team was used to depend on themselves and coordinate accordingly. What they didn’t expect was for the two absentees to enter with a third person again. You. Tanaka and Nishinoya were the first to react, curiosity making the served ball drop.

“Is that a new manager?” Nishinoya’s eyes lit up as he took in the figure of the new person – Karasuno sure was lucky in that regard, it seemed.

“She looks cute, but not as cute as our Kiyoko!”, Tanaka added in, standing next to the Libero.

The other players attention was on you shortly after, taking your presence in before Sugawara scolded the two friends for being distracted that easily and to keep their eyes on the ball. They were about to resume when Takeda called for everyone’s attention. Quickly gathering around the coach, the teacher and the newcomer they bowed their heads in greeting, just as you did.

Harshly giving you two pats on your left shoulder blade Ukai made you step forward with himself, giving you a reassuring smile in the process. You rubbed your cold hands together, nervousness taking over your body as all eyes were now set on you. Catching on quickly the man introduced you to the team himself.

“Everyone, this is (y/n), a third year. He recently transferred to this school and will be joining our team from now on, I expect you to be respectful towards him.”

You bowed again giving a small “pleased to meet you”, thankful that Ukai spared you of making a fool out of yourself by tripping over your own words. After that you got a short introduction from everyone, trying your best to remember their names immediately but that wasn’t really your forte so you just told yourself you’d pay attention to the others calling each other’s names.

After that you warmed yourself up to join them in the actual training. During that time you couldn’t help but listen in on some of the conversations as there wasn’t much else to focus on.

“Isn’t that a girl? Why is she training with the boys?”

“Yeah, wouldn’t it be better if she just joined the girl’s training?”

“I heard that she’s actually a he.”

You didn’t pay attention to who was talking – they seemed not to be part of the volleyball club – but it sure hit you in the most vulnerable of all places. Just until recently you had been playing with the girls from your former school. You actually transferred because, after coming out as trans, you have been excluded from any gendered club activities as the authority was unsure about how to handle a case such as yourself. There were also some actions inside of school which convinced you that your former school was not the ideal place for you to stay at. Not only that but your parents sent you to stay with your uncle – Ittetsu Takeda – because obviously you were ungrateful towards them. Not that you really mind, he’s much nicer and way more understanding – well, still in the process of understanding, but at least he’s trying his best, which was nice.

“It’s weird calling someone with boobs ‘he’.”

Your jog slowed down, your mind trying to focus on suppressing tears that threatened to appear. Taking a deep breath you gained some tempo again before taking a stop next to the coach again.

“I think I’ve warmed up enough, am I supposed to just… join them?”

Ukai nodded so you continued to walk towards the line waiting to receive their spikes. In your old team you didn’t really have a set position, rotating it around inside the group as the sport wasn’t taken too seriously. Though opponents were cautious of you every time you went out on an attack you had to admit that you had more fun in a defensive position, receiving the ball was one of the best feelings you could imagine while playing on the field. But when it came to skill you would probably be considered an all-rounder.

It didn’t take long until it was your turn to hit the ball – two setters being present making progress like clockwork. You got a pass from a grey haired boy, Sugawara if you remembered correctly. It was easy to remember him, he just had a sweet aura about him which made it easy to remember his name. The moment the ball hit your hand and the ground on the opposite side of the net immediately after, silence befell the room. The Libero didn’t manage to get the ball by a hairs width. Turning towards the setter you nervously played with your hands.

“Could you try to pass the ball a little higher next time? I might not be the tallest person but I can jump pretty high.”

After a brief silence a smile flashed on his face – which you immediately returned -, giving you a thumbs up. “Sure!”

Moving out of the way a boy about your height came up to you, looking at you with bright and sparkling eyes. You didn’t remember his name but you were quite sure he was a first year.

“Can you show me how you did that? When did you learn that?”

You were stunned into silence for a second, wondering what he could possibly mean. He must’ve meant your spike, right? You’ve noticed that they tended to spike their balls quite far which you didn’t – a force of habit since in your old team your teammates struggled to get the ball higher up most of the time. Rubbing the back of your neck nervously you chuckled a bit.

“Well, my old team didn’t really have a setter that managed to keep the ball at the perfect height every time so I had to adapt, I guess? So when I jump too high I just try to get the ball on the other side as close to the net as possible. It took me some time not to touch the net in the process but with enough training it just happens less frequently.”

“Woah, that’s so cool! Do you mind staying after training so you can show me, please?”

“Sure, I don’t see why not.”

After that you got quite comfortable with Sugawara’s sets which never seemed to falter. It finally felt like you were playing volleyball with people who shared the same enthusiasm as yourself which was a nice change. After a few more turns everyone was gathered again. The coach announce that you’d be playing one set before packing up for the day.

The opposing team consisted of Daichi, Sugawara, Tanaka, Kinoshita, Hinata, Yamaguchi and Nishinoya. You were teamed up with Asahi, Ennoshita, Narita, Kageyama and Tsukishima. To be honest, you really hoped you’d end up with the setter you’ve been training with already but that wishful thinking should apparently be denied. You wondered if the coach did it on purpose because he noticed you avoiding the other setter until now? Whatever it was there was no time to complain, not that you actually would.

You started in the back left – thankfully not serving the ball as you struggled most with it. You always made little mistakes, if it was throwing the ball too high or too low, but most commonly not noticing that you stepped over the line. Yes, when you hit the ball you usually hit it hard but if it didn’t reach the other side of the net or flew into the out there was no use to it.

The whistle ripped you out of your thoughts, focusing on the game. Yamaguchi had the first serve. It seemed like the ball was heading straight for Ennoshita next to you but in the last moment it drifted off to the side towards you. Noticing this you quickly sprang into action, diving for the ball. Despite managing to touch it there was no way of it to be saved, the first point going to the opposite team. That had to be a jump float serve! Impressed you looked at the boy breathing a quiet ‘woah’ before resuming your position. Ennoshita turned toward you as well.

“You react quick, I’m sure we’ll get the next one!”

You smiled at him, nodding.

The next serve was easier to react to as Yamaguchi failed to hit the ball right, resulting in Ennoshita successfully receiving. Next thing you knew your teams setter passed the ball towards the guy with the ponytail in front of you, spiking the ball with confidence only to be received by Daichi.

“Good spike!”, you cheered the guy in front of you, receiving a shy ‘thanks’ in return.

The other team struggled a little with the received ball, the second touch not reaching the setter resulting in a successful block from the tall blonde with the glasses, earning your first point. Encouraging words were exchanged and your team rotated its players clockwise, you now standing in the front left, ponytail standing to your right and Ennoshita behind you, Narita having the next serve. His hit seemed a little unstable but ended up rolling over the net, earning you yet another point.

His next serve seemed more intentional but was easily received by Daichi once more, passing the ball to Sugawara who set the ball nicely for Tanaka, but the tall blonde managed to touch the ball taking a direct course towards Narita once again who passed the ball towards your setter. You took the opportunity to run forward, either receiving the ball or distracting the other players – you assumed that he’d play to the ponytail guy again since the middle blocker was smaller by a few heads and thus less likely to block the ball. Sugawara, opposite of you, kept you covered, not joining the small redhead. And just as you predicted ponytail got the ball. What took you a little by surprise was the height the first year student reached, he was easily on par with you. But that didn’t help as a point was scored nonetheless.

The game went on, a head to head game. Your team had 12 points while the opponents had 14. You had scored none of the points, the setter not having played once in your direction. It bugged you, yes, but you also tried to be mindful. You’ve never had any interaction with that guy so it would be hard for both of you to get used to one another, possibly making you lose more points than you would gain.

You nervously fiddled with the volleyball in your hands. It was time for your first serve and your gut was telling you something really bad was about to happen. You’d definitely screw this one up. You really wished you’d practised your serves a little more now. If you didn’t jump you probably wouldn’t be able to score at all because you knew from experience that your standing serves always ended in home runs. Gulping down whatever was blocking your airway the moment you heard the whistle you took a deep breath before throwing the ball. Taking a few quick steps you jumped, dread filling you the moment you hit the ball with all of your might. It wouldn’t be high enough.

Oh no.

A loud thud was heard and the person in front of you stumbled a little forward, holding the back of his head before falling to his knees. Panicked you rushed towards the setter, the looming silence making you wince with every squeaky step you took.

“I’m so, so incredibly sorry! Are you okay? I didn’t mean to hit you like that-”

You cut yourself off the moment the dark haired setter whipped his head around and glared at you. Taking a few steps back others rushed to his side, helping him up asking if he was alright. Reassuring them that he was alright everyone went back to their positions, albeit reluctantly. And not like this situation was humiliating enough already, the moment the coach spoke up you really wanted to be swallowed by the ground.

“(y/n), you stepped over the line.”

You felt your soul leave your body, Asahi, now to your left tried to assure you that everything was alright. But for the rest of the game you didn’t dare call out for the ball once, not having scored once in the end despite winning by a narrow margin. You really feel like you’ve fucked up this one.

After cleaning up you quickly threw on a sweater to keep yourself warm. You were about to call out to you uncle to wait for you when something quick made you stop abruptly. It was Hinata.

“Do you still don’t mind showing me that spike you did? It was really awesome and I want to see it again!”

➜ Notes: This is a separate series from Crisp Leaves. Similar to Crisp Leaves, manager in this story will be portrayed as a girl. She will be tall, around 170.5 cm (along 5’7’’).

‘Being tall’ is always your current concern, however to them it’s the absolute delight on its own.

From you were in elementary, insecurities about your height haunting you all the way until you reached high school. Boys were mocking about how you look like a giant, girls saying how you were similar to a monster behind your back. Making friends was difficult because most of your classmates were intimidated by your height–you did have a few, but no one to be called your best friend.

Yachi was the first person who accepted you for who you are even though she’s scared of you at first. Seeing how you never take any advantage from others with your height, seeing how heavy your insecurity is, seeing how you didn’t value yourself made her heart twisted. She learned you’re not bad at all, in fact somehow you’re similar with her–in timid aspect.

She thought of you as an anchor for her overreacting tendencies about anything. That and now, she couldn’t be more amazed with your height. You could reach to high places without asking for assistance, thus making you more independent than any other girls.

Kiyoko was impressed by how you stood 4 to 5 cm taller than her. And with you around, managerial duties that needs height on motion was much easier to handle. You both didn’t require any of the boys’ help, so they could practice to their fullest without being disturb by menial things. Aside from that, she valued you as a friend more than anything.

Hinata was extremely enthusiastic about your height. He bombarded you with questions about it, asking if you somehow grew taller, or just plainly showering you with praises. Not once did he find your height difference with him uncomfortable. The boy constantly bragged about how amazing your height is despite being a girl–which made your heart flutter from how genuine he was.

Kageyama was pleased because he didn’t need to strain his neck. Most of the girls he met were shorter than him–looking down was needed to made an eye contact, but now you stood only half-head shorter than he is was much appreciated. That and if he wanted to whisper something to you or the opposite, he didn’t need to bend too much. He was outwardly showing that he’s comfortable in engaging conversations with you.

Similar to Kageyama, that’s how Tsukishima and Yamaguchi felt. Tsukishima was somehow a tree and having the top of your head stopped right on his cheek was quite a feat. Girls were usually stopped on his shoulder or even below it. He might not look like it, but he also appreciated the not-so-big difference of height between you and him. Not that many girls that could balance his height after all. Yamaguchi sometimes following your figure, eyes glowing in amazement. The fact that you could balance your height with them was amazing. Whenever you felt uncomfortable in your own skin, Yamaguchi immediately noticed and went to compliment you about it. Not to worry he will always be there whenever you need a few words of comfort.

Tanaka and Nishinoya worshipped the ground you walk on, what’s new? Their manager is tall like a model, has a beauty of a goddess, and elegance of a queen (at this point, you knew they were just exaggerating). The never failed to shower you with praises just like Hinata, constantly telling you how beautiful you were, flaunting you to other school, etc. It didn’t even matter if you’re only several centimeters shorter from Tanaka or taller than Nishinoya. Trash talking about you will result death only on their watch.

Sawamura and Sugawara were like a proud parent over your amazing height. Sugawara said it’s a symbol of how you’re living a healthy and well live, something that should be grateful about; meanwhile Sawamura treated you like he usually treated the team, the difference would be he never missed a chance smack your waist whenever you slightly bend down to decrease your height. He loves seeing you stand up straight and challenging his height.

Asahi almost bursts into tears the moment you come to him without feeling intimidated. He knew part of it because of your height, standing a few centimeters shorter made it easier for you to have conversation with him. Asahi could relate to you the most because you two have similar case of insecurities, which was why he has his time to reassure you about the good things the height you’re having.

Ennoshita was quick to be over the height difference. It did bother him first, because it’s the first time he’s seen a girl look straight into his eyes without so much as craning her neck. But, he soon learned that it was easier to be-friended with you through it. Sometimes, he would spark conversations after peeking your notes over your shoulder. Then, you both will fall into a comfortable conversation.

Same with Ennoshita, both Kinnoshita and Narita were intimidated at first, however it soon changed–height difference were only numbers. Safe to say, the two were treating you like a friend of their age despite you being a year younger than them–it’s easier to do so because you could stare right into their eyes by just standing normally.

It's not Christmas anymore but who tf cares? Christmas is everyday>:D

We're doing headcanons bc my brain is not in the right mind to do a drabble or fic.

You, Yachi, Kiyoko, Suga, Daichi, and Asahi would definitely be the ones in the kitchen.

More or less the ones making the cookies and other Christmas pastries, except for gingerbread houses.

The rest of the first years + Noya and Tanaka would be in charge of the gingerbread houses.

Tsukishima would've just left if you didn't mention the best gingerbread house gets a free food they want or money.

Although, you would be the one switching from both sides as i feel like you would've just wanted to taste test or eat the leftovers.

The golden trio, aka Ennoshita, Narita, and Kinoshita, would be the ones in charge of decorating.

Speaking of which house you're using.

It's yours.

And for plot purposes(no ur parents are not ded) you're living in those modern-ish houses that don't fit the Japanese feel at all, prolly like Daichi's house or Hori's apartment in Horimiya(but a house, not an apartment.

And for your parents, they just let it happen, it's rare to let strangers decorate your house for you and cook, Although the mess is none of their business.

Ofc all of these events will happen before Christmas bc yes.

Totally did secret Santa and you got chopsticks and a shirt that just says "cool" in Katakana

Now let's talk about costumes.

Tsukishima was forced to wear a Santa costume and give gifts to kids who do Christmas carols on your doorstep.

Noya definitely wore a Rudolf costume just because both you and Yachi find his nose amazing.

Hinata, You, Yachi, and Kiyoko definitely wore matching onesies with different colors.

Kageyama would just wear a pair of joggers and a shirt.

Yamaguchi would definitely wear those thick sweaters that's just a little, by means of a little an inch bigger than him.

The rest would just wear something thick but comfortable, prolly like Yams too.(I'm lazy im sory)

The house after your thing would be a mess.

And so, you cleaned up yourselves bc you definitely don't want a scolding from your parents and the others just wanted a good first impression.

↘ “Kei...” You muttered impatiently, at which the boy took a deep breath.

↘ “Fine...” You literally knocked out him so he just gave up. He turned to the two first years and apologized to them as you ordered.

↘ Then you smiled gently and patted his head because he was still crouching.

↘ The unforgettable first meeting with the volleyball team is already done!

↘ Literally no volleyball club member will forget the day when you for first time came for Yamaguchi.

↘ Third years been so shocked. Second years had nosebleeds. The first years fainted and fell on the floor. Coach Ukai stopped in time and Mr. Takeda thought it was a american movie or korean drama. Two girly managers flushed so hard. What a beautiful memory.

↘ That day you were wearing black and heavy combat boots, black pants, a leather jacket and sunglasses on your nose. You were also chewing gum and you had a phone and car keys in your one free hand. All the students that you passed have stopped to look at your figure. The teachers wanted to call the police, by the way. Comedy and drama rolled into one.

↘ You entered the gym as if you were at your own apartment and quickly looked around. When everyone noticed you, only then you smile as your eyes met Tadashi. He was so sweet, so flushed. You wanted to kiss his whole, freckled face.

↘ ... And you did it after a few seconds, shocking everyone (even Tsukishima, who didn’t know that his bestie had a girlfriend four years older than him).

Sawamura Daichi:

Kisses with Daichi are gentle. No matter how rough he may be being, or how angry he could be he takes his time to make sure you understand he loves you with every single kiss. His chapped lips press gently to your forehead or your lips in a way that makes you understand his angry, rough nature isn't reason to be intimidated by him. He is gentle with your lips and your heart, and he shows it in every single kiss he gives you.

Koushi Sugawara:

Kisses with Suga are sudden. He presses his lips to yours before he just walks off onto court not caring about the blushing mess he has left behind. He caresses your neck in sloppy kisses, no sexual intent behind them as he enjoys a lazy day by your side: the sudden action making you jump beneath his touch. He finds a way to catch you at least slightly off guard with every one of them and his spontaneous nature gives a fun, chaotic energy that no one can match.

Asahi Azumane:

Kisses with Asahi are meaningful. His lips tell the love stories and sing you the love songs in every kiss that hes too nervous to speak aloud. He kisses you on your rough days, your best days, all with a small smile and a silent reassurance or amazement in his eyes that shows you how much you mean to him without words. He presses kisses to your knuckles as a sign for you to understand he loves you and hes glad you've grown to understand his nonverbal signs.

Ryuunosuke Tanaka:

Kisses with Tanaka are firm. They are reminders that hes here for you through good and bad and that no matter what's going on hes willing to drop it and stay by your side. He kisses with a passion only described by his love for you. He isnt good with words and never will be, so his kisses stay firm on your lips, neck and cheeks to remind you he loves you when he cant find the right words.

Yuu Nishinoya:

Kisses with Nishinoya are constant. He finds the time all the time to plant a few kisses before he has to part from you. Anywhere you go he steals a kiss before you head off that way. When you sit together somewhere he finds time to place a few to your neck or knuckles with zero worries for who's around or why they would care. His constant kisses are a constant reminder of how amazing he finds you and how much he adores you.

Chikara Ennoshita:

Kisses with Ennoshita are stolen. He gently turns your head his way and steals a small kiss while the team is looking away before a game, or presses a loving kiss to your shoulder while you lay together for a moment before you have to go somewhere. His hands will be intertwined with yours before he suddenly raises yours just enough to kiss your knuckles. Gentle, sudden and sweet his stolen kisses linger.

Hisashi Kinoshita:

Kisses with Kinoshita are light. He kisses as if hes worried his lips will hurt you and in some way he is. Hes worried you wont understand how much he loves you if he acts needy or too clingy, so he gives light kisses that linger for only a second or two before he pulls away with a smile. Even after his insecurities fade to the wayside his kisses are still lighter than feather, and instead are more frequent as he finds he just prefers the feeling.

Kazuhito Narita:

Kisses with Narita are domestic. He finds his time to kiss you when he leaves your side, a simple kiss on the cheek as he gives you a small smile and an "I love you" before you part ways. When you stay with him he kisses you good morning and good night and makes sure his kisses count as he snakes his arms around your waist as the two of you cuddle. Hes got an air of a soon to come domestic life that includes you.

Kageyama Tobio:

Kisses with Kageyama are intense. His lips lock perfectly onto yours as it seems he steals the breath from your lungs. You pull away and a small bit of saliva connects the two of you as you both pant a little. He acts as if this isnt something to leave you both breathless and will walk out onto court afterwards as if no one saw. His eyes sparkle with love and passion before and after the kisses, and it has a way of making your heart twirl.

Shoyo Hinata:

Kisses with Hinata are quick. They are loving and full of passion but what stands out the most is how quick they are. It's a peck to the lips before he runs off to a game, or a kiss to the shoulder before he hugs you from behind. It's small, quick kisses that mean the world in both of your eyes and you would have it no other way with him.

Tadashi Yamaguchi:

Kisses with Yamaguchi are loving. His lips linger on yours for a second and his little "I love you" that follows every kiss just makes the point even more obvious. He mutters out the phrase with every small, chaste kiss he gives you and for some its clingy but for you it melts your heart. The soothing way his hand runs circles on your waistline as he pulls you in a little closer in some of the tender moments you have shared makes your heart thump a little more as his words burn into the back of your mind. "I love you"

Kei Tsukishima:

Kisses with Tsukishima are lazy. His hands lazily run your hip lines as he either leans down slightly to your level or his head twists to interlock your lips with a lazy movement. His kisses are so much more layed back then you would have originally thought when you got together: but as soon as you two became comfortable with your kisses they became a leisurely thing you didnt think much about as anything other than a casual showing of your love for eachother. His lips and yours dance without too much thought and he couldn't ask for more.

hello! i read your hcs of karasuno with a really smart manager and i was wondering if you could make a part 2 of it where other schools meet them during their training camp ( ꈍᴗꈍ) - 🍄✨

Of course, I’d love to! Let’s get started.

So during the training camp, they’re obviously a little more on edge, but they’re especially protective of you because you’re their manager, you’re the prodigy from Karasuno

Because of this, the other schools already know you, they’ve all been expecting you

Hinata and Kageyama are actually able to go because you’re the one to help them (no, they did not pass with A’s, they just barely passed) and they’re both now grateful to you forever

Anyways, once they’re at the training camp, they see who they’re against and they’re encountered by Yamamoto, who’s screaming about the beautiful managers up until Kuroo tells him to quiet down; Tanaka was already to protect you three

During the training camp, you’re the one making sure the water bottles and towels are ready to go

At some point, you are notified that you're going to be helping out with the barbecue and while the girls are planning, you've already got everything set up and say what to do

Believe me, the girls are so grateful to have you

During the barbecue however, there are several boys looking at you apprehensively, but guess who teamed up against that?

Tanaka, Nishinoya and Yamamoto

Konoha and Komi ready to flirt with you? Nah, too bad

The captain from Shinzen staring at you? The boys are there

The three other second years steer you away from Tanaka and Nishinoya; Ennoshita just glares at them, Kinoshita is the one grabbing food for you and Narita makes sure you're not uncomfortable

The third years, though, they're all super protective of you because you are their manager and their prodigy

Kiyoko doesn't swarm all over you but has your back; Sugawara is the one trying to stop Tanaka and Nishinoya; Daichi will make sure you have enough to eat; Asahi will accompany you if you so please

The first years make sure no one tries anything on you

However, you've already become friends with the gym 3 boys, so you're well protected

(Kuroo straight up tells you that if you ever want to transfer and become their manager, you are welcome to)

Hinata does not want that and neither does Tsukishima

After the training camp, all of the schools realize that you, while leaving behind a massive legacy, are one of the most humble people they've ever met

It does not mean that they are not intimidated by you and the whole team from that point on

To be honest, throughout camp they kept trying to convince you to transfer, but you're loyal to Karasuno

🎽 He’ll act all indifferent, but he really wants to.

🎽 His brother will probably find him cuddling you in his bedroom, he will tease him.

🎽 He gets very loud and excited about it, will talk your ear off about it while you fall asleep in his arms.

🎽 Especially so after a match or when he’s home from practice.

🎽 Just wrap your arms around him, hold him against your chest.

🎽 He likes hearing you tell him what a good job he did and how great he was during practice as you cuddle him.

🎽 Just pull him against yourself and make a cocoon out of your blankets.
