Idk why the whole “we need new marauders fancast. It’s old. They’re old. We need diversity” is a big thing right now. Now hear me out rq before you gauge at me. I’m not saying don’t have your fancast. I’m not saying not to fancast whoever tf you want. Have your diversity. Shit I be stealing a lot of your face claims and headcannons. Make them queer. I love the idea of Slytherin skittles I’m all fucking for that.

But- do not attack people because they like the old fancast. Or that’s what they’re used too. Those original five. Ben, Andrew, Aaron, Dane, and Sophie. Those five could’ve been like home to these people. Finding the marauders fandom and reading these new stories and falling in love with these new characters. Could’ve welcomed someone when they needed it.

So- bashing people. For not changing face claims. Which may I remind you are a personal preference!! Some people want rieky some people want atj. Some people want Dane some want Lewis. Some people want want to keep they’re original characters. Some want to spread their horizons and get more diversity. And you need to let them do that.

But also the people doing that need to not force their opinions down people throat. Some people want to ship jegulus some don’t. Dont make them. Don’t throw the “that’s clearly canon” in their faces. James takes a minute to think, you’re almost certain he’s about to take sirius out and beat him to a pulp- or at least try to.

Instead James looks at him, the same look in his eyes if he were to beat him up, “If you hurt her, all bets are off the table, understood?” He nods, and James sighs, turning around. “Not while I’m in the house, please. For my sanity.” He says, walking out of your room and closing the door.

You and Sirius don’t talk for a while, just sitting in an awkward silence. The whole reason you’d been hiding your relationship was because you were convinced James would freak and your boyfriend would be a dead man.

But apart from that threat at the end and James calling him a whore, everything went fine. Huh.

What type of fanfics I think the Marauders would like...

Sirius: Hurt/Comfort and slow burns 10000% You already know Sirius would be cuddled up under his blankets at 3 a.m. silently DYING over these fics. The angst?? The fluff??? THE PINING??? He lives for it.

Remus: Headcannoning him as the type to only read well developed plots, if it has under 10k words its just not for him. I'm talking full on plot twists, foreshadowing, someone needs to have at LEAST one near-death experience. He finds a few authors he really likes and typically sticks to their works.

Peter: Avoids all fics with content warnings because he just CANNOT deal with that rn. Everybody lives fics only. Fix-it fics, fics like the "raising harry" ones, anything where everybody lives and everybody is HAPPY. Tooth rotting fluff only here. Usually sticks to group fics rather than individual pairings.

James: ... Okay let's all be honest here, he's a smut reader. All the kink fest fics he can get his hands on, and OH GOD the enemies to lovers fics??? Drooling. He's obsessed with unlikely romance and extremely obvious Dom/Sub relationships. Put a "Plot What Plot/Porn Without Plot" tag in there and he's HOOKED.

Regulus: Pure, soul crushing angst. (Happy ending is optional) Canon compliant fics bring him pain but like the good kind, y'know. Loves Hurt/Comfort but likes it better when it's like 10k words of angry sex and misunderstandings before the actual comfort part happens.
