So, for the past week I've been doing a rewatch of the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy and my burning question is this:
Can we get Aragorn a fucking scrunchie? A hair tie? A goddamn rubber band, at least?
Legolas gets a hair tie. He even gets braids. Aragorn is heir to the throne Gondor for Christ sake. Give the man a hair tie!

Loftr Laufeysdottir/son
My Loki AU where he gets to be more free with self expression!! More lore details under the cut ;p
This version of Loki goes my the name Loftr (pronounced Lofter) Laufeysdottir (or Laufeyson, depending on the day). Loftr is the name given to him by Laufey when he was born.
In this universe, Laufey was actually a good dad! He didn’t abandon Loftr as a baby, he left him in the temple to be protected. Odin found him and took him in, assuming he was abandoned. When Laufey finds out Loki is his long lost child Loftr, he tries to reach out and connect with him.
Loftr is much more chill with his Jötunn heratige than canon Loki, because he learns through Laufey that Frost Giants aren’t all that bad, actually. He is genderfluid (like comics Loki) and uses his shapeshifting powers to present as both masculine and feminine, or ambiguously. He mostly goes by he/him pronouns, but switches it up when he feels like it.
I drew this art years ago but just recently came across it again and realised I never posted it anywhere! So here it is, finally :)
P.S. Please ignore the multiple different spelling of Jötunn!! I don’t know which one is correct, there are many different sources with all the different spellings lol. Sorry about that!

A few notable things!
The city was almost called Chintaro instead of Shintaro.
Cole seems to have construction inspired armor.
There was something in existence call the soul weapons! One that was even some sort of flute! (And early version of the Skull of Hazza D'ur perhaps?)
The Munce were once called Orks. I love how LofTR inspired this season was. Tommy was truly in his element. No wonder it was so good.

Note
One of the names given to Odin is Haptaguð, meaning "God of Prisoners". I was just wondering what the context for this name was?
Both the words haptr 'prisoner' and hapt 'fetter' share hapta as a plural genitive, so most people have read that name as meaning 'god of fetters.' The latter can also mean 'god,' especially in the plural hǫpt, so this could technically mean 'god of gods,' although there seems to be little to support that reading although, yes, skálds do frequently refer to Óðinn as foremost of the gods.
There's no linguistic argument between one or the other, but there are other associations between Óðinn and fetters, like Hávamál 149, where he says that the fourth magic song he knows allows him to gala such that bonds burst from his hands and feet; the valkyrja Herfjǫtur 'war-fetter'; and the general lexical overlap between gods and fetters.
I don't think we ever get an example of someone calling him that other than Snorri listing his names, so I don't think we get any further context.
As an aside, you sometimes see it written Haftaguð. That's because in Old Norse (and Modern Icelandic) both pt and ft are always pronounced like ft (like Loptr/Loftr).
